General Hospital

Diane and Sonny walk into Sonny’s place, Diane tell him, that’s what he paid for; for her to uncomplicate things. Carly says she didn’t hear Diane come in, and Diane says that’s because she’s stealth, like a cat. Carly asks, what’s going on? Diane says they were discussing certain legal issues, and Sonny says he wants Carly to join in the conversation. She asks what he’s talking about, and he says, adopting Dev.

Sam asks Michael how Sasha is; how is he? He says he’s hanging in, but he’s worried about Sasha. They have her on a new round of anti-virals, and he hopes they work.

Obrecht asks Finn what Sasha’s status is, and he says, the next 24 hours are critical. Nina says anyone who had contact with her early on is being tested. Valentin says they were given medication when Sasha was diagnosed, but Finn says, now they know it’s a weaponized strain. Finn says some medical stuff I don’t really understand, and Obrecht asks if that test doesn’t require a DNA sample from all parties. Finn asks if it’s a problem.

Outside of Charlie’s, Alexis says she knows Kim is anxious to leave, but Kim says, don’t worry. It takes as long as it takes. Alexis follows her inside. She says, sorry. She thought Kim was in a hurry, but she’s glad to hear that’s not the case. Julian asks what they’re talking about, and Kim says, the closing delay. Julian says, sorry, and Kim says, things happen. He asks if she’s not disappointed, and she says, a little bit. Franco walks in.

Elizabeth grabs her coat, and says something came up, but Cameron says he needs to tell her something. She says she has to get to the hospital. He says, it’s important. He saw Franco in the park, and he was with Oscar’s mom. Elizabeth asks if something happened, and Cameron says, they were kissing.

At the hospital, Jordan tells Jason, Andre walked in alone, and collapsed. He was unconscious before he could tell anyone anything. Jason asks if they’ve determined the nature of Andre’s injuries. Jordan says they have a good idea, and Epiphany asks if anyone has heard of HIPPA. Mac says, Jason is officially helping, right? Jason nods, and Epiphany says, Andre has two deep wounds in his abdomen. He was stabbed. Jason says, Andre just returned to the states. Who here wants him dead?

Peter goes into Andre’s room. He says, Dr. Maddox (I add, I presume, in my head). He tells Andre, he shouldn’t have come back. What is he supposed to do with him? Peter looks at the IV drip.

On the phone, Brad tells Lucas that he’ll be home soon. He’ll pick up dinner. Lucas is cooking? Please don’t burn down the house. He says he loves Lucas too, and looks at a picture of Lucas and Wiley.

Michael tells Sam, the rest can wait. She says, what rest? and he says forget he said anything. She says he can tell her anything; she won’t judge. He says he’s not concerned about that, and she says, sometimes you have to talk. If he gets it out in the open, he might feel better. He says Sasha has been secretive for as long as he’s known her. Sam asks, how so? He says, he knows she grew up in Chappaqua, and knows where she went to college, but he doesn’t know any details, nothing about her past. Last night, she told him when she gets better, she’ll tell him everything; to quote her, even if he doesn’t like it very much. Sam asks what he thinks she’s referring to, but he has no idea. It could be the medication talking, but if it’s not, she might have a major secret that can blow them up. He’s not sure he wants to know.

Nina sits next to Sasha’s bed. In the hallway, Finn explains why the DNA is needed. Obrecht says they’ll do what’s required. They need to focus on Sasha, who’s at risk. Finn says, she’s getting the best care possible. He leaves, and Valentin tells Obrecht, say it. She thinks the test will prove that Sasha isn’t Nina’s daughter. Obrecht asks what he thinks it will find. It’s to check for the virus, not paternity. It might be better if Sasha dies. He says, how dare she? He’d never wish Sasha dead. She asks if he’s sure. He seems very defensive. He says he brought Sasha there to help Nina heal. Obrecht says, he brought her there to get back into Nina’s good graces. He says his motives are irrelevant. Nina will be inconsolable if Sasha dies. Nothing is worth that.

Peter tells Andre that he wishes there was another way. The machine starts to beep, and Peter goes out another door. Is he hiding in the bathroom?

Franco says he realized Kim might be there, but maybe he should go. Julian says, before he does, Julian doesn’t think he’s had the pleasure. He introduces himself, and Franco says, he’s Kim’s boyfriend, right? Julian says, yeah. He knows it’s uncomfortable, but they’re all adults. He suggests a round on the house; they can talk about it. He’ll be holding onto his bar for a few more days. Franco says, it’s Julian’s bar? If he’d known, he wouldn’t have come. Julian says, it’s fine. It doesn’t have to be awkward. Franco says maybe it’s better if he leaves. Everything that happened earlier is his fault. He apologizes. Julian asks what he’s talking about. What happened?

Cameron asks if Elizabeth heard him. Franco was making out with Oscar’s mom in public. She says she heard him. It’s a very complicated situation for everyone, including Kim. Cameron asks how she’s not pissed. Kim hasn’t lost her memory, and knows he’s Franco and not Drew. Elizabeth says she’s feeling a lot of things; loss, grief, confusion. She has to stay focused in finding a solution. Hopefully, Andre can reverse the procedure. Cameron says she better figure it out fast. Franco is planning on leaving as soon as the ankle monitor is off, and he asked Kim to go with him.

Mac asks Epiphany, how much longer? She hears the beeps, and says, that’s Dr. Maddox. She runs to his room, and they wait outside. Peter comes in another door, and he sneaks around. He sees Jason, Mac, and Jordan outside Andre’s room. I’d love to know what door goes outside from where the bathroom should be, but okay.

Carly says, Sonny wants to adopt Dev? He says he’s considering options. They’re just talking about the process. Carly asks when he decided, and Sonny says they’re just talking possibilities. He hasn’t decided. Diane thinks they need space, but Sonny says, no. If they move forward, she needs to know everything. Carly asks when he decided maybe adopting Dev, and Sonny says, Gladys has been hanging around Mike, and is visiting Port Charles. He wants to make sure Dev is taken care of. Carly asks if he doesn’t need Gladys’s cooperation; technically, she’s Dev’s guardian. He says he’s thinking of cutting her out of it, and dealing with it the legit way. Diane says Sonny informed her that he provided Dev with a US ID. Had he consulted her, she would have advised against it. Sonny says that’s why he didn’t consult her, and I literally lol. Carly asks if it would be possible using Dev’s real ID. Diane says, immigration law is clear on it. Not unless the child is under sixteen, and Dev just missed the cut off. They may be able to adopt him using his US ID though. Sonny says she means adopt him as Dev Corbin? Carly doesn’t think it’s a good idea.

Michael tells Sam, it feels wrong talking about Sasha while she’s in the hospital. Sam says it’s clearly a weight on him, and he’s just venting. Michael says, if he thought she was being deceptive, that would be one thing, but he thinks she’s talking about her past; something embarrassing or that she’s ashamed of, and they all have those things. Sam says, of course (🍷) they do, but it’s good to be honest. You can’t hide the past forever, and secrets end up coming out In the end.

Valentin says, it would destroy Nina if anything happened to Sasha, and Obrecht says, just as it would if Nina knew he was lying. He asks, which is worse? and she says, for who? He says, her, and she asks how she’s involved. He says she’s long suspected Sasha isn’t Nina’s daughter, but she hasn’t said anything. She used it for her personal gain, to get leverage and blackmail him. That makes her an accomplice. If the ship goes down, she’ll drown with him. Obrecht says his reasoning is unassailable. Allow her to handle this.

Jordan says, come on, Andre. The doctor gives Andre an injection, and says, he’s stabilizing. Andre opens his eyes.

Obrecht finds Brad about to get in the elevator. She says she caught him just in time.

Sasha wakes, and Nina says, it’s okay. She was just watching Sasha sleep. Sasha says her mother did that when she was a kid. Nina says she finally gets it. Every cliché she’s heard about parenting. It’s overwhelming; the urge to make sure your child is okay. She feels better being near Sasha, like she’s protecting her and keeping her safe. It’s silly. Sasha says, no; it’s not silly. She feels better when Nina is there. Nina wishes she could trade places with Sasha. She would give her life in a second if it meant saving Sasha’s.

Michael tells Sam not to bring up Nelle, and she asks why she’d do that. He says Nelle had secrets, and would give him plausible excuses as to why she told a lie or kept things from him. Now Sasha has a secret. Sam says he doesn’t think she’s like Nelle, does he? He says, no. Nelle was broken and vindictive. Sasha is the opposite. She did her best to keep things casual, and they tell each other it’s casual. The problem is, they’re good for each other. Whatever secret she’s hiding, he can’t believe it’s that bad. At least that’s what he wants to believe. Sam asks if he wants to rescue Sasha, and he says he wants her to get well. She says that’s not what she means. Does he want to ride in on a white horse, and fix all her problems? He says even if he did, Sasha wouldn’t let him. She’s way too independent. She asks if he’s comfortable with that, and he says, absolutely. Sam doesn’t think anything is wrong. He’s a rescuer, and Nelle took advantage of that. Sasha is being honest, and honesty is the key to a healthy foundation of any relationship. Michael thanks her for the advice and support. He feels like he owes her a drink. She says he owes her nothing, and Michael says, under normal circumstances, he’d insist, but he has to go back to the hospital. Sam tells him to go be with Sasha. Her phone dings, and she says, wait. She has to head to GH too.

Julian says, something happened between Kim and Franco? Franco says he ran into Kim at the park. She was visiting the marker dedicated to their son. Julian says, Drew and Kim’s son. Franco says she was trying to have peace and quiet, and he upset her. He apologizes, and Kim says, it’s okay. Alexis says she’ll keep them posted about the closing. It won’t take too long. Julian says, sounds good. He tells Franco, maybe they should take a raincheck on that drink. Franco agrees, tells Kim that he’s sorry, and leaves.

Outside, Franco tells Alexis that he doesn’t know her name. She introduces herself, and he says it’s a pleasure to meet her. He asks if she’s a lawyer, and she says she is; why? He says he might need her services.

Elizabeth asks if that’s what Franco really said. Cameron says, word for word, that’s what he told Kim. She says that’s what she and Scotty were afraid of. Once the monitor comes off, he’s gone. She asks what Kim said, and Cameron says, she didn’t commit, but she was pretty emotional. They talked, and Kim took off. When she left, he let Franco have it, saying he was a real jackass. Elizabeth appreciates the support, but he doesn’t really have to intervene. He asks what she expects him to do; sit back and let Franco do what he’s doing? She says he needs to be strong  for his brothers. They’re going to hear rumors, and he has to protect them. She tells him, don’t worry. As terrible as it seems, it’s temporary. Andre will find a way to bring Franco back.

The doctor says, Andre’s heart rate is up, but he just regained consciousness, and that’s a normal response. Epiphany says she needs them all to leave, but Andre tells them, stay. They need to know what’s going on. Jordan says, if he’s up to it. He says he’ll manage. He’s glad to see her on her feet, and she says she wishes she could say the same about him. What happened? He says, someone tried to kill him. I have to admit my error. It is the same Andre. Between the oxygen mask, and him growing facial hair, I thought it was a new guy. I’m glad it’s not, since I like this Andre.

Diane tells Sonny, adopting Dev using a false ID is asking for trouble. The documents are no golden pass. There’s no question how it will look. From a legal standpoint, it’s questionable. She says it’s their decision to make; she’s off. Sonny tells Carly that he knows it’s a sticky situation. She says, that’s an understatement, but he says he won’t go for it unless they can get away with it. She says, it’s not just the legal issue. She’s not sure it’s the right thing. She thinks having Dev live there is one thing; making Dev a permanent part of their family is another.

Brad tells Obrecht that he’d love to stay and chat, but he has to get home. Lucas made dinner. He suggests they table this until never. Obrecht says she could follow him home, and they can talk there. He says, fine. What is it? She pulls him out of the elevator, and says she needs his expertise. He asks for clarification, and she says, Nina’s family is going to require a genetic test. He needs to make sure Nina and Sasha’s DNA is a match.

On the phone, Finn asks Anna to check in with him. He sees Peter, and tells him that he should call Anna. She’d love to hear from him.

Jordan asks Andre, what happened? He says he was working with a humanitarian aid group in Ethiopia. Drew found him, and told him everything. He wanted Andre to reverse the memory transfer procedure on Franco. He agreed to come back and examine Franco, but couldn’t make any promises. Mac asks about the trip home, and Andre says Drew drove him to the airport, and put him on the first flight to Port Charles. Mac says, Drew didn’t accompany him? Andre says, no. Drew had his own jet, and was en route to Afghanistan. He had urgent personal business there. Mac says, he came alone? and Andre says, correct. A driver met him to take him to GH. He thought Drew arranged it, so he got in the car, but instead of driving to GH, the driver pulled into an alley. He took out a knife, and Andre tried to run, but the driver caught up with him, and stabbed him. He managed to fight the driver off, made his way back to the car, and drove himself to the ER. That’s the last thing he remembers. He must have blacked out. Jordan asks if anyone talked to Drew. He needs to know what’s going on. Wow. Maybe they should recruit Andre for the PCPD. He’s pretty hardy.

Mac says he hasn’t heard from Drew. Shouldn’t he have landed in Afghanistan by now? Andre asks how long he’s been out, and Jordan says, a couple of hours. Jason says, it’s been time enough; Drew should be there by now. Epiphany needs to clear the room. Jason lingers, but leaves with the others. Jordan asks for a word with Mac. Elizabeth comes out of the elevator, and asks Jason where Andre is. Jason says he got stabbed and was admitted. He’ll be okay, but what about Drew?

Julian asks if Kim is good, and she says she’s trying to be. She says, this should help, indicating her drink. He says, it can’t be easy, and Kim says Franco just frazzles her. She knows he’s not Drew, but it’s painful hearing her personal memories coming out of Franco’s mouth. Julian asks why she didn’t tell him, and she says Alexis was there, and she didn’t want to risk upsetting him. He says, if all that happened was Franco bringing up old memories, why would he be upset?

Alexis asks why Franco would want to hire her. Does he know his father is a lawyer? Scott Baldwin. He says they’ve met, and Alexis says she’s sure Scotty would be happy to represent him. Franco says, thanks to him, he’s wearing an ankle monitor. She says she can’t represent him; it’s a conflict of interest. He says, with Franco? He’s not him. She tells him, so he says. Her daughter might see it differently.

Nina tells Sasha that she and her mother weren’t close, and as an adult, the relationship was toxic. As a child, her mother alternated between overbearing and indifferent. She swore she’s be better with her own child. For the longest time, she didn’t think it was possible, then Sasha came into her life and changed everything. She has to get better. Sasha nods, and Nina says they have a lot of catching up to do, and they have to see Paris. Charlotte will be desperate for Sasha’s advice when she’s a teenager too. Don’t give up on their future together. Sasha says she won’t. Valentin looks through the window.

Brad tells Obrecht, Sasha not being Nina’s daughter makes no sense. There were two DNA tests. Obrecht says, a DNA test is only as good as the security around it. Who should know better than him? Do whatever he must. Brad says he doesn’t want to break more laws, and she says, how noble. He says, especially for her, and she says, but he will. He says he’s done with that stuff. He’s committed to be a law abiding citizen. She says all she has to do is tell Michael that his child is alive and well, and living with Brad and his husband. She’d hate to have to do it, but if he forces her hand…

Sonny tells Carly that he wants to make sure Dev is taken care of. Dev earned that; Dev saved his life. Carly gets it. He wants to help Dev, but there’s a big difference between letting him live there, and legally adopting him. Sonny says sorry to spring it on her. Carly says, it’s forever. Dev will always be part of their family, like the rest of the kids. He says he understands, and understands she thinks it’s a bad idea. Carly says she won’t say yes unless the kids are on board. If they commit to Dev, they commit to him as a family. Is he ready to have that conversation?

Michael comes back to Sasha’s room. Nina tells Sasha to think about where she wants to go on their Paris trip, and Sasha says, will do. Michael takes Nina’s place by the bed, and says, so Paris? Sasha says, she, Nina, and Charlotte are going together as soon as she’s well. Nina says she’ll be right outside. In the hallway, Valentin asks if Nina is okay. She says she is. She’s just feeling grateful that she got to know Sasha. If anything happens, at least they had time together. She realizes it’s selfish. She wouldn’t be in this position if Valentin hadn’t found her daughter. Valentin says Sasha has made it this far. He promises they’ll have years and years.

Obrecht asks Brad what his answer is, and he says, all right. He’ll make sure Sasha and Nina’s DNA match. She knew he would make a reasonable decision. He says, after this is done, she can’t hold it over him forever. She says, look who’s making demands, and he says, damn right. Do him a favor though. Does he have her word? She says, of course (🍷). If he can’t hold her to her word, who can he trust? She leaves, and Brad leans against the wall, sliding down it.

Kim tells Julian that she didn’t want a scene. That’s why she didn’t say anything. He thinks she was right the first time. The situation is causing too much stress. There’s no reason she can’t leave immediately. She doesn’t need to be there. The staff can watch over Charlie’s. He doesn’t need to stay. He tells her, let’s just go. He really thinks it’s the best thing for them. They can be setting up in Manhattan by this time next week. She says, sounds great.

Franco asks Alexis if he did something to her daughter. She says she won’t give him details, but his actions were unforgivable. He says he’s sensing a trend. She says she can’t get involved. He’ll have to find representation someplace else. Good luck. He asks if she means that, and she says, actually, she does.

Mac tells Jordan, they have to organize having Andre’s room to be monitored around the clock. Drew not showing up is a bad sign. Andre’s attacker might try again. They can’t give him a chance to get to him.

Peter tells Finn that he doesn’t want to interrupt Anna’s secret spy mission. Finn says he won’t. She won’t pick up if that’s the case, and he can leave a voicemail. Peter asks Finn to just pass along a message. He’s looking forward to seeing her when she gets back. He hopes to do better, and he’s sorry he judged her so harshly. Real life can take you places you can’t anticipate. You wind up compromising in ways you never thought you could. Tell his mother that he’s thinking about her.

Sam sees Jason and Elizabeth at the hospital, and says she got Jason’s text. He says, Andre got stabbed, and Elizabeth says they can’t locate Drew. Sam says, he’s in Afghanistan, but Jason says, Drew should have landed by now. Any calls go to voicemail. Sam has an idea. She’s still on the account for the private jet. She calls, and gives them her account number. She says she wants to know if the jet landed in Afghanistan. She thanks them, and says, Drew’s flight never arrived. Elizabeth says, not yet? and Sam says, it disappeared. It fell off the radar. It’s as if it just vanished.

Tomorrow, Obrecht asks if Brad is threatening her, Jax suggests Josslyn live with him, and Nelle tells Shiloh they can help each other.

💰 On Million Dollar Listing: New York, Ryan took Amelia’s advice, and decided to focus on what he could control. He was back at the LifeSaver loft, he had an intimate showing with only five brokers, each with a client in another state. He told us from an average open house, he might get 10% that are interested, but all of them will eat all his food. This time, he had 100% interest. The apartment on Great Jones Street was ready to go, and Ryan said his events were always about having fun. Since people always asked about the origin of the street name, he made up a character called Sam Jones, and dressed up like Napoleon. He threw a huge bash, where Steve showed up. Deciding to rain on Ryan’s parade, he said that Ryan’s costume was just distracting, but IMO Ryan was right that his open house would be remembered, rather than the ones by the brokers in boring suits. He wanted to make the brokers to have a positive experience in the space. Despite the nearby construction, Ryan got an offer for the LifeSaver pied a terre, by intimating that the buyer could lose the apartment to another offer. He told us you can never say there is offer if there isn’t, but you can say another party is interested and going to make offer. Deal taken.

Fredrik convinced the seller with the million dollar parking spot, that they were never going to sell it for a million. The seller finally relented when he pointed out there were other apartments for sale in the same building with parking included. They agreed on selling at $7.5 million. Fredrik showed the apartment to Steve’s childhood friend Phil, trying to get stories about Steve from him the entire time. The following potential buyer decided to bring her parrot – named Chris – with her, and it promptly pooped on the coffee table. At least it wasn’t the carpet. Fredrik turned this into a selling point, saying the bird knew it was home. This is why he gets the big bucks.

In other Steve news, Steve’s girlfriend Luiza arrived, and she was welcomed with a huge apartment he’d rented. He this is what he’s dreamed of, and the reason he bought a five-bedroom house in the Hamptons. He always wanted family, but just had to find the right person at the right time.

Tyler Whitman is the new broker in town. He’d been on the operational side of real estate until two years ago. A former fatty, he’d had weight loss surgery, something he heavily promoted throughout the show. He even told us that only 2% of people who lose weight the natural way keep it off. Um… I don’t think so. He seems a little addicted to the idea, and no surprise he turned to fitness when he couldn’t turn to food. He seems like a nice guy, but a little sad, covering it up with his loud personality. From the South, he moved to NYC, excited to be a free gay man, but he felt poorly judged and body shamed for being overweight by other gay men. He told his trainer that instead of eating three times a day, he ate three meals for each meal. Tipping the scales at 387 pounds, he lost the weight, but now feels there’s a stigma because he had surgery. Perhaps if he’d tone down his promotion of it just a tad… He did give us the best quote of the night. While walking through a seller’s apartment, it was noted that they’d turned a walk-in closet into a nursery. Not missing a beat, he said, the sooner you get the kids out of the closet, the better.

This season, Derek isn’t happy living in L.A., Steve takes a carriage ride, Luis is excited about being a father, and Amelia goes into labor.

General Hospital

Sonny asks if Robert plans on leaving his son out in the cold. Robert says he’s not leaving him behind, and Sonny asks if he got the okay to bring Dante home.

Sam tells Jason that she’s meeting Shiloh at the MetroCourt. Jason asks if Shiloh gave any indication where they were going. She says, no, and Jason says Shiloh is testing her. She thinks it’s good if she goes no questions asked, so he’ll trust her. She knows Jason hates it, but she has to make sure Shiloh doesn’t think she’s playing him.

Curtis talks to TJ on the phone, wanting to get together, but TJ is busy. Drew joins him, and says if TJ thinks he’s busy now, wait until he’s chief of staff. Curtis says he was hoping to have coffee with TJ, since he was dropping Lulu off. Drew asks how she’s doing, and Curtis says, physically, she’s fine, but the arraignment got the better of her. Drew says, she’s not the only one.

Elizabeth sits in her car. Terry knocks on the window, and Elizabeth nearly has a heart attack. Terry says she didn’t mean to scare her; she should have known better. She asks if everything is okay, but Elizabeth says, no; far from it.

Jordan is going to talk Franco through it one more time. He’ll choose one lucky reporter, and give a no holds barred interview; telling them all the gory details. The performance of a lifetime. He’s going to hit the killer in the one place he’s vulnerable – his ego. He’ll have to reveal himself. Franco says so he’s going to turn the tables; manipulate the manipulator. She says, it’s the most effective tactic. Franco says, there’s only one problem. He’s not doing it.

Ryan and Ava go to the MetroCourt. He tells Carly that he wants to order the best champagne. Ava says they’re celebrating a major event. They’re getting married. Carly asks how his wife feels about that.

Laura yells for help. Doc tells her to rest; she’s been at it for hours. She says she looked everywhere, but can’t find another exit. Their best hope is someone hearing. Doc says if anyone could hear, they’d have been there by now. He thinks they should take a step back and regroup. Besides, he missed her. She says, that’s the silver lining in this very, very dark cloud. They might be in the basement at Ferncliff held captive by a madman, but they’re together.

Finn asks if Cabot is confirming Anna was a test subject. Anna says, it never happened. Cabot says she doesn’t remember participating in the study, because she wasn’t supposed to.

Jason tells Sam that he has both of their phones set up. He can track her even if he can’t see her, but he’ll have to keep his distance. Sam says she can handle herself. Shiloh may just want to get her alone to brainwash her with DOD propaganda. Jason says, that’s what he’s worried about. She doesn’t know what she’s walking into. He tells her, keep her eyes open, and if something goes wrong, he has her back.

Cabot tells Anna that she was drugged and abducted; a necessary evil to further the cause of science. She says, he’s lying, but he asks if there aren’t stretches of time she’s missing. How else can she explain her exposure to the virus? She had no adverse reaction at the time. The virus remained dormant for years, and began to manifest, causing blindness. Anna lunges for him, but Finn takes her out in the hallway. She says she needs answers, but Finn suggests she take a minute to calm down before she strangles Cabot. She wants to smash his face. Finn says they need him to keep talking first. They need more information to confirm what they suspected about her being infected with the virus. She asks what that really tells them. It doesn’t explain Doc. He wasn’t a part of the study. His brother has been dead for twenty-five years.

Carly tells Ryan, last she heard, he was still married to Laura. Ava says she knows how to spoil a celebration, and Carly tells her there are other restaurants. Ryan says he and Laura are getting divorced. She’ll find it beneficial as well. She asks, in what universe? He says he can help with any co-parenting issues, and Avery will have one more stable person in her life. Carly says he helped her in Ferncliff, but he’s anything but stable right now. She tells them the restaurant reserves the right to refuse service, so mind their manners. When she’s gone, Ava tells Ryan he might have kicked a hornet’s nest, and Carly could cause trouble for them. He says he could just kill them.

Terry tells Elizabeth that she knows she’s been AWOL. She didn’t mean be a bad friend. Elizabeth says Oscar needed her, but Terry says she could have still found time to be a friend. When Franco was arraigned, Elizabeth was confident there had been a mistake, and he’d be exonerated. She was so sure it would work out. Elizabeth says, all that changed today. She was hoping to pull it together before her shift. Terry asks, what happened? and Elizabeth says, Franco pled guilty. He’s not guilty; that much she knows. Something else is going on.

Franco say pleading guilty in front of Elizabeth without being able to explain was horrible. Now Jordan wants him to spread the lie over the entire world. She asks what he thought the plan was? That he’d just be evaluated and it would work out? He says she wanted time to catch the killer, and he’s given it to her. She says, the killer’s ego will betray him. Franco needs to get under his skin, so the killer confronts him. Franco asks how she knows he’s not going to just get killed.

Sonny tells Robert that Dante did the WSB a favor, tracking Rog. Now they’re going to leave him? Robert says, it’s dangerous. They just can’t risk violating borders. He won’t stop until Dante is back, but he needs time. He also doesn’t need Sonny making waves. He could alert the hostiles to Dante’s whereabouts. Sonny understands, and Robert says he’ll be in touch. Robert leaves, and Sonny calls Brick, saying he needs Brick’s help.

Ava asks where Ryan has been hiding his delicious wit, and he says she brings out the best in him. She plans to do that for the rest of their lives, but says Carly had a point. They can’t move forward yet. Maybe they’re getting ahead of themselves with the celebration. He says why put their happiness on hold? and tells her to order whatever she wants, as long as it’s the best. He’ll be right back. He has to wrap up a few loose ends.

Doc tells Laura that he’s so sorry. She says it’s not his fault. He says he should have known better. He should have thought it through, and taken precautions. She says Doc was shocked that Ryan was still alive. That’s why Ryan got the jump on him.

Curtis says it must have sucked, hearing that Franco pled guilty, but Drew says he can’t shake the feeling that it’s a maneuver, and Franco has an agenda; an ulterior motive. Or maybe he’s kidding himself. Curtis says, no, he’s not. There’s more going on than Drew realizes.

Jordan tells Franco it’s a secure facility. If anyone gets in who’s unauthorized, they’ll know. He says what if it’s someone who’s authorized? Jordan gives him a burner phone, telling him to hide it. It’s only to be used as a last resort. He takes the phone, and starts dialing. She asks what he’s doing, and he says what he should have from done from the start. Tell Elizabeth the truth.

Elizabeth tells Terry that she knows Franco is innocent. There has to be another reason. Terry says, okay, and Elizabeth says Terry thinks she’s crazy. Terry says, the truth is, she doesn’t know him well, so she doesn’t share what Elizabeth has, but she has faith in Elizabeth. If she believes there’s more to the story, she trusts her. Elizabeth thanks her, and says, if Franco doesn’t trust her, she’s not sure they stand a chance.

Shiloh meets Sam at the MetroCourt, and introduces him to Carly. She’s heard about the good work he’s doing in the community; her daughter helped with the coat drive. He says she’s Kristina’s stepmom, and she says Kristina is very important to her. Sam says they should get going; it’s getting late. Outside, she says he still hasn’t told where they’re going. He says that’s because it’s a surprise. She says that’s great and all, but she has children. They’re at their grandmother’s, and she thinks it’s a good idea to let them know where she is. He tells her, placing trust in others helps us trust ourselves, which doesn’t really address what she said, but okay. He says when she sees what he has to show her, all of her doubts will disappear.

Robert joins Anna and Finn. He thinks Doc was used in the experiment, but doesn’t know if he remembers. Anna says it’s possible it took place when Ryan was still alive. Robert says good thing they have access to someone who can give them all the answers. They go into Cabot’s room, and he asks if they’ve calmed down. Anna says they have other questions, and Robert says there’s no immunity deal for him, and it will go a long way in reducing his sentence if he’s cooperative. Cabot asks what they want to know. Anna says his superiors wouldn’t sign off on a study like that unless it had a purpose. What was the objective? Cabot says to transfer the memories from one person to another.

Elizabeth tells Terry that she put all her faith in Franco. When he was considered a suspect, her trust never wavered. So much so, she married him last night at the police station. She wasn’t letting the world tell her what kind of man he is. Terry asks if her invitation got lost in the mail; no present for her. Elizabeth is sorry; she’s a mess. She thought if she cried it out, she’d feel better, but it’s not helping. Terry says Elizabeth doesn’t want to cry. She wants to scream.

Jordan tells Franco, stop. Franco says if they’re putting it out there that he’s the real killer, Elizabeth will be vulnerable. The phone makes a beeping sound, and Jordan says he’s blocked from making calls not to her. She knows it’s tough, but promises the less Elizabeth knows, the safer she’ll be.

Doc tells Laura, it’s ironic. He spent months having conversations with her; what he’d say, how he’d say it, if he had the chance. Now here she is, warm and real, and by his side, and he can’t find the words. She says, don’t try so hard. Just say how he feels. Ryan let’s himself in, and asks how the big reunion is going. Isn’t Laura a sight for sore eyes? Oops. He guesses not. Doc says it’s not like him. Whenever he visits, he risks being seen. Why take the chance? Unless his elaborate charade is beginning to unravel. Laura says Doc may be right. Ryan looks hairy, flustered, nervous. Ryan says he’s totally committed to his course of action. He came finish what he started. He takes out a knife.

Sam and Shiloh enter what looks like a lighthouse. Shiloh says, we’re here, and Sam asks, where is here? I don’t catch the name, but it’s some lake. Sam says she’s never heard of it, and he says it’s in a corner of Lake Ontario. He says the tower used to be taken care of by the harbor master, but it’s been vacant for a long time. I wonder why it looks like someone lives there. There are even coats hanging by the door. Shiloh says when he left Afghanistan, he was looking for a way to change his life, but had no idea how. He wandered aimlessly, and found the tower. He’d never heard of it, and never been there. Call it fate. She asks why he thinks he was led there, and he holds out his hand. She hesitates, but takes it, and they go up the stairs. Jason comes in, and follows, but stays way behind.

Terry tells Elizabeth crying hasn’t worked because she’s not sad. Elizabeth says Franco just pled guilty to multiple murders. Terry says she can feel sorry, but she must be furious that he was keeping her in the dark too. She’s angry, and needs to feel it. Let it out, so she can get on with her day. If she needs to scream, go ahead. It’s just her. Feel the anger, and scream at everyone who let her down or underestimated her. Let it out. Elizabeth lets loose with a scream. Terry says, better? and Elizabeth laughs, saying, a little, yeah. Terry asks if there’s more in her, and she says, yeah.

Jordan tells Franco that she’s moving in a detective she can trust, but until then, he has to do his part. She says he has to call his lawyer on the Ferncliff landline, and have him set up the interview. He says, convince him this is another good plan, but she says she’s late to dinner with her son. She’s about to leave, and her phone rings. Franco says he had to be sure it worked.

Drew asks Curtis if Jordan told him something. Curtis says she’s holding her cards close. Let’s just say his hunch is that Drew’s hunch is correct. He can’t see the big picture, just pieces. It’s not much, but it’s something.

Laura tells Ryan not to get any closer, and tells Doc, he has a knife. Ryan says, not quite, but it will do the trick. Doc stands in front of Laura, and says Ryan will have to go through him first. Ryan says Doc is jumpy. He’s not there to take their lives, as satisfying as it sounds. He needs something first. Laura says he has an envelope, and Ryan says, which he’s using his letter opener to open. It’s his signed duplicate of their divorce papers; her divorce papers. His lawyer wanted him to mail them, but he knew she wouldn’t be at home. So if she doesn’t mind… He holds them out, but she slaps them out of his hand, and says, go to hell. He says, it’s tempting, but there’s someplace else he’d rather be. Laura says he wants to sever ties with her so he can marry Ava, but she’s not helping him hurt Ava more than he has already. He thinks she should review this. He’s armed, stronger than them, and can see. It can play out to its long, bloody conclusion, or she can cooperate. What’s it going to be?

Sonny sees Ava sipping champagne, and asks Carly what she’s doing there. Carly says, celebrating her engagement to Doc. He asks if she’s stressed, but she says, not one bit. She asks where he went, and he says he met with Robert. It wasn’t good news. The WSB can’t go after Dante without a diplomatic incident. She says, so he’s planning on going?

Ryan says he could just kill them, and Doc tells him to stay the hell away from Laura, stepping in front of her. Ryan asks where his calm, shrinky demeanor is. Ryan tells Laura to get behind Doc, so he can mortally wound him, and leave him bleed out, while he ends her life. She says she’ll sign. He thought she might. She signs the top paper, and he says she forgot the yellow stickies. She signs the other pages, which I might add are LOUD papers. Ryan takes the papers, holds out his hand for the pen, and I laugh. He leaves, and Laura tells Doc, he’s gone. They hug.

Cabot says, the study produced a painless, efficient way to extract information. There was no need for torture or coercion. They could just transfer the memories to someone else. Anna and her sister were in the first trial. Anna asks if he’s trying to say her memories were extracted and given to Alex. Cabot says, it’s the other way around. Finn says the study must have been a bust. Anna doesn’t have Alex’s memories. He failed. Anna says, no, he didn’t.

Shiloh tells Sam no one lives there, but it’s far from empty. She understands this place is special to him, but what happened here? She does something with her phone. Jason is coming up the stairs, and can hear what they’re saying. Shiloh says he came looking for a purpose. He was drawn to the shore. Standing there, looking at the vast expanse of water in the moonlight, he saw what he thought would be his shelter. He came in and found this room. He curled up on the floor, and fell asleep. He was cold and alone, but a few hours later, he was awakened by a brilliant light, a powerful light. The break of dawn was the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen. Sam says, Dawn of Day, and he says, precisely. His moment of clarity. Right then, he knew his calling was to bring light to as many people as he could. Sam says it’s a beautiful story, but she doesn’t know why he couldn’t tell her in Port Charles. He says she has to experience it personally. It’s very intimate. When she sees the dawn break, she’ll know her path. Is he going to slip her drugs? Because yeah, it’s nice story, and I’m sure a gorgeous daybreak, but does he really think he can get over on a serious con artist with a sunrise?

Sonny tells Carly that he talked to Brick. He can get across the border. Carly says Brick can get Sonny in, but can Brick get him out in one piece? Sonny says, Brick is a professional. He doesn’t want to leave her, and won’t be gone long. She tells him, go. Bring Dante home to meet his new brother or sister.

Elizabeth thanks Terry for forcing her to get that out. She thinks she can handle going work now. She gets out of the car. Terry offers to cover for her, make a show of how sick she is, like in high school. Remember the excuses she used to write? Elizabeth says, thanks, but no. She actually needs work. Terry says she’s still a night owl. If Elizabeth’s shift ends, and she needs a friend to talk, have a drink with, or scream, she’s there. They hug. I’d love to see more of Terry. She’s a very charming character.

Franco tells Scotty that he needs to ask a favor. Get in touch with someone from The Invader for him. He thinks it’s time to tell the world his side of the story.

Ryan returns to the MetroCourt. He hands Ava the papers, saying he had a hunch, and went back to his office. Those were waiting for him. Laura signed. He guesses she decided to put their marriage to bed. He toasts to them, saying, nothing can stand in their way now. They clink glasses.

Laura says Doc must be disappointed in her, but he says, no. He’s glad she did it. Nothing would delight Ryan more than to take the person he loves the most away, knowing he’s powerless to stop it. Laura asks if that’s what it was like living with Ryan; if he destroyed everything Doc created. He says no part of his life was safe. He’s sorry for everything she’s been through with him. Laura says their marriage is off, and it leaves Ryan free to do God knows what to Ava. It never occurred to her. Everyone thought he was dead twenty-five years ago. Doc says, it doesn’t matter. They’re together, and if they get out of this, he’ll marry her all over again. They kiss.

Sam says, sunrise is hours away, and Shiloh says it’s not like she has someone to go home to. Spend the night with him. She’ll see. Jason takes out his gun.

Drew calls Elizabeth, leaving a message. He says they need to talk about Franco. He gets in his car, and backs out of the spot.

Finn says, Anna has Alex’s memories? She says the memories weren’t transferred to her, but Andre took the study to use as a basis for his procedure. He built on the work already done. This means there are two other unwilling participants in the study.

Drew gets a headache while he’s driving out of the garage. His vision becomes blurry.

Jason’s vision becomes blurry, and he tumbles down the stairs. Sam hears, and runs out. She sees Jason at the bottom of the stairs, and runs down to him. She asks if he can hear her.

Walking through the parking garage, Jordan calls Chase.

Drew passes out, and his car hits Jordan.

On Monday, Curtis asks Stella what’s going on, Maxie tells Peter the results are in, and Valentin asks Peter for a favor.

What I Watched Today

(random, rambling thoughts on today’s TV)

General Hospital

Is it Friday yet? Sleeping Beauty Sonny wakes up, while Ava and Julian take baby Avery out to dinner to celebrate her homecoming. I have the feeling Avery is probably ready for surf ‘n’ turf or at least lo mien.

“Jake” picked up Elizabeth’s phone while she was in the bathroom and knows she got a call from Hayden. Well, it probably has Nicholas’s number, so who knows what he must be thinking.

Kiki whines to Franco that she has nothing to do and no one to do it with. He suggests she move into Silas’s apartment with him and Nina, but Nina’s not too keen on that idea and I don’t blame her. Who wants this millennial whiner around them? Let’s see, she’s gorgeous, has money (I’m sure Silas left her some and she has the apartment) and is halfway intelligent (although not much evidence of that lately). Can’t she find somewhere to go? I’ve found her annoying for a while, but it could just be that I miss Kristen Alderson. A lot. Nina also doesn’t want to live in the “death apartment.” Again, good luck finding one that isn’t in Port Charles.

“Jake” says he wasn’t snooping, but he wanted to know what call upset Elizabeth so much. Patrick and Sam show up announcing their engagement, and Elizabeth is happier than they are. Patrick and Elizabeth get called to the hospital to deal with Sonny. Sam complains a little about significant others who are doctors and nurses, and have to go to work at a moment’s notice. Sounds good to me. Maybe not so much with nurses, but marrying a doctor must be great. They’re never home and they make a lot of money. Whoa. “Jake” has an amazing memory for things other than his identity. He remembered the phone number he saw on Elizabeth’s phone and has Sam look it up on her tablet.

Laura shows up at Windermere, and is wondering what’s up with Hayden being there. Nicholas has given Hayden some baloney about how Helena told her who Jake is, but not him. Okay. Like anyone is stupid enough to believe that. Elizabeth calls Nicholas and he seems to think that Hayden doesn’t remember anything. Does this mean he’s believing Hayden or falling for her? Hayden is hip to the fact that she’s making Laura nervous, and says she’ll find somewhere else to live. Seriously? Doesn’t this house have like 110 rooms? They never even have to see each other. Laura says it’s okay and that Hayden should stay.

Kiki gives a lot of exposition for new viewers as to what’s happened up until now with Nina, under the guise of telling Nina how sorry she is. No one talks like this IRL and it always makes me laugh. I’m not crazy about Nina’s dress. I love the style, but it’s some kind of cherry blossom pattern or something that looks like streaks of blood.

Paul says the same thing that every politician says when they get in office – he got left with a mess. He and Tracy discuss how reliable information from Michael might be. It’s probably about as reliable as information from anyone on this show. Paul says he’s going to talk to Michael. Fat lot of good this will do him.

I got confused for a second when Carly tells Sonny he had a seizure when they were about to get married. I’d totally forgotten they decided to do it in the hospital. Patrick tells Sonny that anxiety is a common side effect of anesthesia. Really? I’ve only had it once and it was the best sleep I ever had. He tests Sonny’s reflexes and I wonder if those are fake feet, because Sonny doesn’t react and I don’t know if anyone is that good of an actor. It’s making me move my feet. I’m still wondering why Sonny thought “Jake” was Jason, since they really look nothing like each other. (I’d also swear “Jake” was shorter, but I’ll let that pass.) Was it something in “Jake’s” eyes, or did Sonny wake up psychic? That would be a fun plotline. He could get together with Olivia and they could start a business.

Nina is like, no way am I moving in with Kiki, but Franco wants to do the right thing, with a side benefit of bugging Ava. I love these two together because they’re more fun than corny. Roger Howarth is aging well and looking handsome. He doesn’t seem to be the type who’d get Botox or something, so good. Kiki shows up at (I guess) The Floating Rib where Julian and Ava are. Ava wants to make peace, but Kiki just wants to drink. I hear you, Kiki. How many earrings is Kiki wearing? It looks like 4 or 5. Kiki throws back the rest of her drink and storms off.

How is it that “Jake” is so damn smart, but can’t figure out even one clue as to who he really is?

Back at the ranch Silas’s apartment, Kiki is back and Nina says they’re all going to be one big happy family there, making Kiki, the audience, and probably Franco, wondering when her change of mind happened.

Nicholas tells Laura he “has feelings for” Hayden. I hate that phrase. It makes me cringe inside. Laura wonders how well it’s going to go, since he tried to have Hayden killed a few months ago. Nicholas says that a guy has the right to change his mind. Not really, but that sounded good.

Geez, Sonny isn’t awake 10 seconds before Carly is pushing for another marriage ceremony. Patrick has told him it’s too early to tell if he’ll be able to walk again, and he doesn’t want to marry her until he finds out. Way to stall.

If Loving You Is Wrong

Major flashback episode from when Alex and Brad moved into the neighborhood. Marcie and Randall welcome them and the couples get together for an evening of drinking.  They do some dancing in Alex and Brad’s living room. I always find this kind of thing a little weird, since nobody does this IRL unless it’s a party. Afterwards, after Marcie & Randall leave, Alex wants to get all lovey dovey, and ditto the other two at their house. They keep showing us the clock and I’m not sure why. Uh-oh, something went wrong at Alex and Brad’s. They’ve finished before they started and she does not look happy. OMG – Alex is looking out the window and sees the other couple. Quick like a bunny, Randall closes the curtains, but not before he sees Alex catching a glimpse. This is another thing I don’t think people do in real life, unless they’re voyeurs. Speaking for myself, I can’t think of one neighbor I’ve ever had that I’d want to catch in flagrante. Nope. Not one. And I’ve had quite a few neighbors.

Randall sees Alex outside the next morning and says, sorry, they’re used to the house being empty. I can actually relate to this. I once lived on the top floor of an apartment building in Queens. When they decided to go co-op, as renters left, they stopped renting out apartments. For over a year, it was just me and a single gay man on my floor, and I got used to doing things like taking the garbage out in my underwear. I had to be really careful to check myself when new people finally started moving in.

We jump to a few years later. Both Marcie and Brad are at work and Randall goes over to see Alex. He says he’s been hugging her a little too long at the end of the night when they double-date, adding that it seems to be reciprocal. I’m actually feeling a little sick to my stomach, since I know what the outcome is going to be. Randall says he’s seen her peeping at them when they’re going at it. Hmm…why are they still leaving the curtains open? When people moved into my apartment building, I stopped taking out the garbage half-naked. Alex wisely tells him to get lost. Obviously, we know this doesn’t last. Then he goes to kiss her good-by. Alex rebuffs him, but he’s still going on about their chemistry. One of the reasons I’ve never liked Randall is that he can’t take a hint.

For whatever reason, Randall is helping Alex paint a room. They’re getting a little too close while opening a stuck window, and her parents show up! They’re from Deliverance, which is a surprise to me. Her father isn’t happy that Brad isn’t American, and then Randall, who is African American, comes bounding down the stairs without his shirt on. OMG, he calls Randall “a darkie.” So her father is a racist from the backwoods and her mother is a doormat. They leave and good riddance. Alex goes to find Randall and I see where this is headed. They had lots of sex in the shed and that’s where Alex finds him.

Alex is mortified. They hug and, Oh my Tyler Perry!

Alex is dreaming all this and wakes up saying Randall’s name. And Brad is sitting there. Brad says he’s going to make her life hell from now on. I swear, Tyler Perry produces the best soaps ever. The episode endings are nothing short of soapticiously fabulous.

The People’s Couch

I am so glad this show is back. And for an hour this time. I honestly think it’s one of the funniest things on TV. Maybe ever. The simple, and cheap for Bravo, premise is several groups of people watching TV in their respective homes, everything from Empire (a show I would love to indulge in, but I can’t watch everything) to The Real Housewive,  and making comments to each other while they watch. That’s pretty much what I do here. Which is why I need to be on this show, even if I talk to myself.

There are a pair of sisters who are also roommates; three gay guys who are best friends; a pair of sisters who aren’t roommates; a couple and their two teenage sons; female best friends and writing partners, one is gay and one is straight (my personal favorites – and they have 3 little dogs); a dad and his three adult daughters; three older retired ladies; and another couple and their teenage son.

Each group is very funny, and are people you’d love to hang out with. I literally laugh out loud every other minute.

Back at the schoolyard…I mean, yacht, Rocky has given Emile a note saying she just wants to be friends. Because they are both huge babies. I would hate to work with these two.

The primary guests are a brother and sister (Tracy and Mark) and their spouses. There’s another girl who I assume is someone’s daughter. Right away, in her individual interview, Connie says something snarky about the girl’s appearance. I don’t like that. Yeah, I know I do it sometimes, but I’m not getting a ten thousand dollar tip. If you’re giving me ten grand, I won’t knock your sweater.

The weather is pretty breezy and a storm is coming. A lobster fishing expedition is cut short and they head back to shore. Chef Leon is a real drag, but the gusts are happy with his dishes. The centerpiece is gorgeous too. I’m sure that’s the fun part of the job for the stews, getting to do the creative stuff. New deckhand, Dane, is on anchor watch. It’s been stressed a few times that falling asleep is a huge no-no, which makes me wonder if that’s what’s going to happen, but it doesn’t.

The next day is nicer, so the jet skis are put in the water. Immediately, the first guest out runs over a line and sucks it into the propeller, thus taking more precious time away from outdoor activities. Squalls are coming through. Dane is supposed to get the line un-entangled and is just making more of a mess. Captain Lee is losing patience with this guy quickly. At first, he seemed like a hard worker, but he’s acting more and more like Spicoli from Fast Times At Ridgemont High.

Mark has brought his own wine and wants a tasting menu to go with it. Chef Leon has ordered food from the mainland – groceries, not McDonald’s – and more time is wasted going to pick up his order. The meat is frozen solid. I guess Leon should have been more specific or planned better. Because Kate didn’t have the menu info, everything else got hung up. I understand her frustration with this. I hate when I have to wait for someone to finish their part before I can do my part and they lollygag. Even worse, as Kate has explained earlier, it’s the domino effect – if one person flounders, it goes on down the line and affects everyone.

Captain Lee is dining with the guests. He’s not impressed with Leon’s food, but hopefully, the guests are. Mark seems to have a pretty sophisticated palette. Amy and Kate are super pissed off about Leon taking his sweet time with the whole thing and not caring about them or the guests. Chef Leon makes an appearance and the guests seem happy with his work. Apparently, he should be wearing a jacket to do this and says he doesn’t give a flying. Kate finally calls him out for being the jerk that he is. He says he’ll try to let her know sooner next time, but not to hold her breath. Then he just goes on and on and on about how he doesn’t like Kate and making veiled threats. This guy is the worst. I wouldn’t want to work with him either. Rocky thinks it’s all very funny and I want to slap her.

16 large this week! And because the yacht owners have gotten good feedback about the crew, they’ve been given a freebie night at a resort. Captain Lee gives Dane a mini lecture on responsibility, but he knows it’s going in one ear and out the other. Good job whoever used the words “tax free” in regard to the tip. Shut up.

Dane gets seriously hammered while on the boat on their night off. Ugh! He’s a messy drunk too. I hate that.

Next week looks pretty good. Dane makes more of an idiot of himself and the guests aren’t happy with Chef Leon. And Eddie and Rocky hook up? I’m hoping that one is a dream.

What I Watched Today

General Hospital

No matter how many years these people live, they’re never going to understand that when doctors are working on an emergency, you really shouldn’t get in their way.

Poor Carrrlos. He lives on in scapegoat spirit anyway. Ha-ha! Anna is walking around like a zombie, because she knows the truth, and Sloane just used her pic on his phone as a coaster. Nicholas continues to amaze me in that I kind of like him now, after years of thinking of him as wallpaper. Hayden has brought a lot out in him, like sleaziness and cunning, but also his fun side. I really hope they stay together and wreak havoc on Port Charles.

Paul makes a “Hmmm…” face when Michael tells him that Ava said Carrrlos was the shooter. I don’t know if it’s “Hmmm…why didn’t I think of that?” or “Hmmm…I’m going to kill her for not doing what I said.” And why did Paul act surprised when the charges against Julian for conspiracy were brought up? As DA and the new crime boss, he should be up-to-date on that, especially since he wants to blame Julian for everything.

I start getting anxious whenever I see the words, “breaking news” now.

Is Ava going to change her clothes today? When was the last time she had a shower? Julian isn’t buying that Ava is replacing him at the mob table out of the goodness of her heart.  Now Sloane is drunkenly harassing Hayden and Nicholas while they’re eating dinner at The Floating Rib. He’s looking a little better now that they fixed his hair.

Back at the Asian restaurant (Noodle Buddha?), “Jake” and Sam have renewed their vows. Sam says she’s ready to leave Jason behind. Oh boy, does she have a surprise coming. Although I wouldn’t want to hang as long as it’s taking to come.  Sam does a whole riff on the figurines and decides to leave them at the restaurant.

The blood clot traveled to Sonny’s brain. Maurice Benard’s contract is up and he hasn’t signed a new one yet, so we’ll see how the next surgery goes.

Paul is going blah-blah-blah at Anna when Sloane calls and insists on speaking with him. Looks like he’s going to spill Anna’s beans about Carrrlos. I was almost liking him, but unless he’s going to say he did it, that’s pretty low. Nope, he’s not. Now Paul is staring at Anna with laser beam eyes. I’ll bet he’s not going to have her arrested though. He’s probably going to use this info to his advantage. And didn’t Sloane’s name/number pop up on the precinct’s caller ID? Although it does look like they have a phone from the 70s. Times is tough everywhere.

Ava tells Julian she’s always dreamed about running the organization, which is news to me and probably everyone else. “Every little girl’s dream,” Julian says. Hey, it beats pushing a baby carriage. Julian says he should probably find a new place to live. He should have found a new place ages ago. Aren’t these two in their 40s? Why are they living together anyway?

Paul meets with Sloan who gives him a key to the safe deposit box where Carrrlos’s ID and wallet are, along with the gun that shot him. I could have sworn they just pushed him into the river, but okay. Paul then shoots Sloane. That was quick. I don’t know what a great mob boss he’s going to make. He probably should have verified that first. What if the only thing in the box is Sloane’s dirty underwear?

As Sonny is prepped for surgery, the burning question in all of our minds is, how much of a raise did he ask for?

If Loving You Is Wrong

If you love old school soap opera, this one’s for you. While The Haves & The Have Nots is more reminiscent of Dallas or Dynasty, If Loving You Is Wrong is more the Ryan’s Hope of the Tyler Perry dramas. The opening credits hearken back to the soaps of the 70s, with romantic shots of the main characters. They all live on the same street, which makes it easy for them to get into each other’s business. The street set is wonderful. The houses look almost cartoonish, all painted in bright colors with gingerbread trim. It also reminds me of the old lonely hearts comic books that I used to sneak into the house when I was a kid.

The new season just started, so it’s easy to catch up. It’s not like this is rocket science.

Alex is married to Brad, but had an affair with Randal. Randal is married to Marcie. There was a big whoop-de-do when the affair was revealed by Marcie at Brad’s surprise birthday party. It was a surprise all right. At the end of last season Brad was furious, Alex just had a baby, Marcie became a drunk and Randal was still trying to get into Alex’s pants. Not in the delivery room, but I wouldn’t have been surprised. I’m not sure what she sees in him, since he’s annoying and a bit intimidating, but he does have a rockin’ bod. In today’s episode, we finally saw the baby, and yep, it’s Randal’s. I forgot to mention that Randal is African American; Alex and Brad are both Caucasian.

Kelly lives next door to Alex and Brad. She’s a single mother, but bought the house in anticipation of getting married to Travis. He was on some mission in a foreign country, but when he came back, he was engaged to someone else. He says he still loves Kelly and wants to be with her, so obviously there’s a piece missing to this puzzle. His mother appears to wield some power over him as well. He also seems a little off, but I don’t know if there’s something to that or it’s just me. Kelly is playing with him, trying to hurt him, but I think she really still loves him.

Edward is a dirty cop who used to be with Esperanza, but he’s also a bully and needs to know what she’s doing every waking moment, which is why they broke up. They can’t seem to leave each other alone though.

Lushion is a good cop who was partners with Edward. Edward had also been in Afghanastan, and Lushion suggested PTSD is Edward’s problem, but Edward shrugged it off, acted like an a-hole, and is now being investigated by the department. Lushion is also in love with Natalie, and the two of them are the voices of reason on the show. Joey is Natalie’s son, who works at a burger place (Natalie is the manager), but has dabbled with gangs who are now after him. The burger place was totally shot up last season.

That should bring you up to speed.

My Fab 40th

The party planner is making 15 grand? I missed my calling. This show is all about rich people’s problems. I guess a lot of them are, but it would be nice to see some people who can’t afford to drop 100k on a birthday party. Where’s the Loud family when you need them?

The couple in this episode (it’s her birthday) are New Yorkers, but if I didn’t know that, I’d swear they were from Los Angeles. They don’t act like any New Yorkers I know. Maybe they got gentrified along with the neighborhood they live in. This party is basically a re-do of their wedding because the original happened when they weren’t so flush. Both of them are lawyers, but threw their degrees in the air to start an urban celebrity gossip website. Obviously it did well.

Al Sharpton officiates at the vow renewal ceremony. Every time I see him, I worry about his health. He really looks like he lost too much weight and now his head is too huge for his body.

Below Deck

Eww! Emile “has feelings for” Rocky. Because he’s 12. Eddie wonders what’s wrong with Emile. For one thing, he can’t hold his liquor. (It’s the crew’s night off.)

Eddie’s having problems with his long distance relationship, and his girlfriend keeps contacting her ex. Connie and Rocky get weird with some whipped cream and leave a mess. Eddie leaves a note that the yacht isn’t a frat house. Oddly enough, the next charter’s two primary guests, Bryn and Stacy, are sorority sisters. It’s some kind of reunion.

The guests decide on finger food for lunch, and like Kate says, “We all know how Leon likes change.” Leon has already made a load of hot food, and despite Kate’s really good suggestions on how to turn it into hors d’oeuvres, he starts grumbling and won’t shut up.

The deck hands are making stupid mistakes, and Captain Lee says he has a low tolerance for stupid. Me too. He calls them all to the wheelhouse and pretty much tells them to shape up or ship out.

Chef Leon is “taking a breather” (where? he’s on a boat), and Rocky is going to cook dinner for the crew. This might turn out to be one of those too many cooks situations. The kitchen isn’t that big. Ha-ha! Kate says gazpacho is another word for laziness. Maybe I should try making some, since I’m admittedly a lazy cook. Holy! Rocky just served the crew raw chicken. She must have taken cooking lessons from my maternal grandmother.

The guests want mini cheeseburger sliders and cream cheese brownies for late night snacking. No surprise, this pisses Leon off. Because he has to cook. I have finally found someone lazier than I am in the kitchen. When I’m being paid, I can be quite industrious. Man, I’m even more creative than this guy.

My second eww! of the show – primary guest Stacy is washing down a brownie with a beer. No. Just no.

My second no surprise too. She’s severely hungover the next morning.

It’s time to dock. This is probably the most difficult thing to accomplish, worse than parallel parking in NYC. The crew manages to do it without anyone getting fired. Even though Stacy is still nursing her hangover, she manages to give the captain the tip. BTW, the tip is always split evenly, which seems kind of unfair, but it is what it is. Twelve large this week.

Emile continues to embarrass himself with Rocky. Because he’s 12. Rocky passes him a note. Because she’s 14.

Wow. It looks like it’s going to be a real sh*tstorm next week.
