What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Sonny tells Margaux, it looks like Shiloh lost a couple of his true believers. Margaux says Sonny appears to have rendered them unconscious. He says, it couldn’t have been too bad. They walked out under their own power. He hopes they went to the bus station, and got out of town. She asks if he threatened them, and he says, what difference does it make? They’re gone. He tells her that she’s dodging his question. Where is Shiloh? She asks how she would know, and he says Shiloh is her leader. Where would he try to hide?

Shiloh says Sam wants this as much as he does. She says, no, and feebly pushes at him. She asks why he brought her there. He says it’s their special place, where he told her they’d see the dawn together. Everything has been leading up to this moment. She says, no, no, no, no, and he kisses her.

Laura calls Lulu, and tells her that it’s official. Ryan is back in town. She asks where the kids are, and tells Lulu that she needs to be careful tonight. Curtis runs in, and asks where Chase is. Laura says Chase organized a manhunt, and asks how Jordan is. He says, not good. She went into cardiac arrest, and he needs to locate Ryan now. She says, he’s not getting away, and the police have orders to shoot on sight. He says, Ryan has to be brought in alive. Jordan’s life depends on it.

Chase calls Julian, looking for Ava. Julian says he hasn’t seen her since he was arrested. Try the bars, or her new boyfriend’s place. Chase says let him know if Ava contacts him. Chase gets a message, and Lulu wonders if he has something.

Ryan asks what Ava is doing. She says what she’s dreamt of since the moment she found out he killed her daughter. He says she doesn’t want to shoot him; she loves him. They belong to each other. She shoots.

I’m not loving the latest opening credits. They look kind of cheap.

Curtis tells Laura that dialysis was a strain on Jordan’s heart, and she needs a transplant yesterday. Laura says Doc was a match, but he says Doc is pre-diabetic. It rules him out as a donor, but Ryan is a match. They have to catch him, and bring him in alive. He asks her to call off the shoot to kill orders. She understands, and she’ll locate Chase. In the meantime, Ava is missing. The theory is that she set a trap for Ryan. Curtis suggests checking the gallery, Julian’s house, and Kiki’s old apartment. He tells Laura to make sure it’s understood how important it is to bring Ryan in alive. It’s Jordan’s only chance, and he can’t lose her. They hug. Lucy sees them, and asks if Doc is okay. Laura says, he’s fine; he’s being monitored. Lucy says she just left the Nurses Ball, and it’s crazy. The cops are busy looking for Ava. She believes Ava fled the city, since she thinks of no one but herself. Curtis hopes not, for Jordan’s sake. Lucy wonders what Jordan has to do with it, and he says, it’s a complicated issue. She needs a kidney. Doc is a match, but can’t donate; however, Ryan is also a match. He says, where Ava goes, Ryan will follow, and Lucy thinks maybe there’s something she can do.

Chase tells Lulu, it was a false alarm, and Lulu says, Ryan could be anywhere. Chase says he has everyone searching, including the FBI, from lower Canada to NYC. Ava is off the grid, and turned her phone off. Lulu wonders if Ryan has killed or kidnapped her, but Chase says Mac, Felicia, and Doc believe she was setting a trap for Ryan; luring him in. She’s planning on murdering him herself. Lulu says, revenge for Kiki.

Ava says, that was a warning. She’s not ready for Ryan to die just yet. She wants him to feel the same terror his victims did. The way Kiki did. He says he did it for her. He did it out of love. She says she already knew that. It haunts her every waking moment, and keeps her up at night. Ryan – who is sometimes not too bright – says she told him she was better off. She says, she lied. Did he honestly think she could love him, and believe she’d run away with him? She’s been planning this for months. Ever since that night on the bridge, she’s been waiting to kill him and get justice for her daughter. He says, no. She won’t. She can’t. Their bond it too strong. She says he’s going to die for what he did, and it won’t be quick. She’s going to give him time to hurt as much as she does. She shoots again, and says she’s an excellent shot. He won’t die until she’s good and ready. Is his heart pounding? Is he desperate for a way out, and no escape? Is that what it was like for Kiki? Tell her about her daughter’s last moments on earth.

Margaux tells Sonny that she doesn’t know where Shiloh is, and if she did, she wouldn’t tell him. He says she’s protecting a con man. No, worse; a predator. He thought she was smarter than getting involved with DOD. She asks what that says about Sonny’s daughter, and he says, she’s young and lost. He can see her falling into this freak show, but how did Margaux let herself get wrapped up in this organization? She says, because of him.

There’s a knock on Kim’s door. Julian answers, and it’s Brad. Julian asks if it’s about Ava, and Brad looks puzzled. He says he has to talk to Julian. Lucas is already upset enough. Julian tells him, keep it down; Kim is sleeping. Brad says something happened at the Nurses Ball, that could cause him to lose Wiley and Lucas.

Shiloh says Sam is exactly what he needed. He kisses her, and says, with her by his side, he can do anything. He unbuttons his shirt as he talks. He says they were destined to be together, and know each other on every level. It starts tonight. He starts undoing his pants, and Jason grabs him from behind. He punches Shiloh, and then… Well, throttle is a good word. He bounces Shiloh off the walls, and throws him down the stairs. Shiloh lies still at the bottom. Jason goes to Sam, and tells her that she’s safe. It’s okay.

Margaux asks Sonny if he thinks just because she moved on in her life, she forgot how Sonny turned it upside down? He took her father and mother away. Her entire life was based on a lie. She couldn’t shrug it off until she met Shiloh. She read his story, and his organization finally gave her peace. Sonny says, he fed her lies. She says Sonny surrounds himself with thugs and criminals. He’s not used to dealing with decent men. Sonny says, Shiloh is a liar and a predator. She needs to get it through her head that he welcomed her because he wants the DA in his back pocket.

Sam tells Jason that she wanted to stop him, and Jason says she did. She says she doesn’t feel good, and he picks her up, and takes her out.

Lucy says Ava wanted to buy a vacation spot in the woods. She thought it was weird that Ava would pick her as an agent, since she was mad about Ava stealing Doc from Laura. She looks at Laura, and Laura says, thank you. Curtis asks if Ava bought a property, and Lucy says she did, and didn’t even blink at the inflated commission. She also didn’t care that it was way out there; isolated. She asks if they shouldn’t call the cops, and Curtis asks, where is it? Laura says she needs to notify the authorities. Curtis says he’s just asking for a head start. He’s going to make sure Ava is okay, and Ryan isn’t shot. Twenty minutes. After everything they’ve been through, let him have this. Lucy gives him directions, adding, it’s way off the road.

Chase tells Lulu that he’s working on it, but he’s had no hits or leads, and there’s been nothing from the roadblocks. He believes Ava is waiting at her destination. Valerie is checking car rentals. Lulu says he’s doing a great job, but maybe it’s time to let the public know Ryan is on the loose.

Ryan tells Ava, masochism doesn’t suit her. She doesn’t need to hear this. She says, tell her or she’ll shoot the hand off that he has left. He says he tried to make it quick. He tried to be merciful. He didn’t want her to feel any pain. Ava told him that she wanted Kiki out of her life. He did that, so Kiki and Griff wouldn’t hurt her again. He tried to kill Griff too, but by that time, Ava was his. He asks if she remembers how happy he was when she told him that she loved him, and how happy she was when he said he loved her. She says that’s not what she asked. She wants to know what Kiki did when she realized he was there to kill her. Now! He says Kiki was scared and tried to get away. When he cornered her, she started to cry. She cried out for her mommy. Ava starts to get shaky, and he tells her that Kiki said, mommy… mommy… mommy.

Julian says, Lucas figured it out? What exactly happened? Brad says the Ball was a disaster before, then it got worse. Lucas thinks Wiley’s biological father is Shiloh. Julian says, the DOD guy? Because there are so many Shilohs in Port Charles. Brad says he’s taken Wiley to workshops. Shiloh kept wanting him to bring Wiley back, and now Shiloh found out Willow had his child. Lucas thinks Shiloh will be determined to find him.

In Sam’s hospital room, Jason tells her, try and get some rest. She struggles to remember, and asks, what happened at the tower? How did she get there? Jason says he and Sonny were monitoring everything that was happening. They heard Shiloh pressure her into drinking the tea, and when the tattoo was finished, he said something about it being fate that only his hands touched her. That’s when he and Sonny went in, but there were guards. Sam tells him, Shiloh said they’d be alone, and Jason says, he lied. There were two guys, and by the time he and Sonny got past them, she and Shiloh were gone. She asks how he found them.

Margaux asks why Sonny hates Shiloh. He only wants to help the community. He doesn’t care that she’s the DA. He’s never asked for a favor. Sonny says, that’s how he operates. If he was hauled in sex charges, would she charge him? She says she’s never seen him ask anyone for sexual favors or otherwise. Jason attacked him, and he didn’t press charges. Sonny says, it’s manipulation. Let him tell her how it works. He asks you to join his inner circle, asks for a Pledge – an ugly secret you can’t tell anyone. Once you accept it and sign it, he sets up an initiation, where he drugs, tattoos, and has sex with you. Sonny says, he’s not a lawyer, but doesn’t it sound like sexual assault to her?

Lulu says, they might get calls from people who have seen Ryan, but Chase says, or start a panic. Sightings that lead to nowhere. Laura calls, and says she may have Ava’s location. If Ryan is there, Chase needs to tell the officers to stand down. She’s saying it again – no deadly force. No shots. He needs to be brought in alive.

Ava says her daughter called to her, but she wasn’t there. He say he did it for her; anything for her. She says she didn’t mean it. She was jealous and hurting, and because of him, Kiki died. He believes she’s mistaken. Kiki’s last words were, tell my mother, I’m sorry. Tell my mother, I love her. I’m not buying it, but Ava is, and she’s starting to cry. He says, her daughter loved her. He begins to come closer, and says, but her daughter is gone and he’s there, and he loves her. She says, too bad. She’s going to kill him. He says, no, she’s not. Ava says, Kiki was beautiful and perfect in every way, and he killed her. Not for her, but for himself – she starts to walk around him – because he’s evil. She despises him. She’s given this a lot of thought. She wants to make sure he dies, but she doesn’t want it to be quick and painless. A shot to the gut is best. Something agonizing to cause him pain as lies there bleeding out. He says she doesn’t want to do this, but she says she does. More than anything she’s ever wanted in to do in her life. She takes aim.

Brad tells Julian that he’s had no one else to talk to. No one else knows he got the baby from a woman at the side of the road. Willow thinks Wiley is her biological child. When Shiloh comes after her, everything will be blown wide open, unless… Shiloh is reasonable, kind, caring. He’s been a wonderful advisor. Maybe Brad should tell him the truth, and he’ll leave them alone. Julian says, not a word to anyone, especially Shiloh.

Jason tells Sam that Shiloh said he was going to show her a new dawn, along with a stupid story about watching the sunrise. Sam guesses she may have passed out. She doesn’t remember getting there. She’s obviously upset, and says, the tower. Maybe Shiloh put her on the table. She tried to say no, but she couldn’t move. He started kissing her, and she could barely breathe. He was gone, then Jason was there. What happened to Shiloh? Jason says he threw Shiloh down the stairs. Sam asks, is he dead? Jason says, with any luck.

Margaux says Sonny is lying. Shiloh would never do those things. He asks, what’s wrong with her? He’s trying to warn her. Shiloh is a blackmailer and a sexual predator, but instead of launching an investigation, she’s defending him. Does he have something on her? She says, Sonny took her father from her, and he’s taking this too? He says he’s looking out for her. She asks why he cares, and he says, maybe he shouldn’t, but he does. Her mother and Skully made her into a victim. He doesn’t want to allow Shiloh to do the same thing. Save herself. Face the truth – if she wants to.

Lucy says that Laura just promised Curtis a head start. She says she didn’t promise, and Lucy says she let him believe it. Lulu joins them, and asks how Laura knew where Ava was. Lucy says, yoo-hoo! And Laura says, Lucy provided the information. Lucy says, sometimes it pays to be a realtor, in more than one way. Laura says she’ll make sure Lucy gets a commendation. Lucy says she could have been more help if they’d told her earlier, and saved herself buckets of grief, thinking Doc had fallen for Ava. Laura says Lucy does realize Doc is her husband, right? Lucy says, hope springs eternal, and strides off.

Ava says, one more thing, and I almost die, thinking, stop talking. Just shoot him, but don’t kill him. There’s something he needs to know. His brother is so much smarter than him. Doc knew exactly how to set him up and how he’d react. In the end – and this is the end – he was pedestrian and predictable. Ryan tells her, don’t say that. She says, the truth hurts, but if it’s any consolation, the bullets will hurt more. Twice in the gut and once in the leg should do the trick. Curtis opens the patio door behind her, and says, don’t shoot. Jordan had a heart attack, and was taken off dialysis. Ryan can be a donor if they keep him alive. She says he killed her daughter. Curtis understands, but asks what Kiki would want. For Ava to avenge her, or honor her by helping Jordan live. Ryan raises one eyebrow a scrinch and I laugh.

Lulu tells Laura that she had no idea Jordan’s condition was so serious. She asks what makes Laura so sure Ryan will cooperate? He couldn’t care less about helping a police commissioner… unless they use it to bargain with him. Laura says they’re getting ahead of themselves. They don’t know if Ava lured him in, or if the police will capture him and bring him in alive. Lulu can’t believe she’s going to say this, but she empathizes with Ava. She would want them to shoot on sight. Laura says, if Ryan had taken Lulu from her, she doesn’t know what she would want to do. Lulu says, Ava wants closure, but will any of them get it? Laura says, if he survives.

Curtis tells Ava to give him the gun. She doesn’t know if she can do that, Curtis says, if he dies, Jordan dies. Ryan will get what’s coming to him. Death would be merciful. Let this animal spend his life in a cage. Don’t put him out of his misery. Let him die slowly, while she lives her life, while he rots. It’s the best revenge of all. He takes the gun put of her hand. Ryan moves to pick up the knife, but stops when Curtis says, no. Chase runs in with some officers, and Curtis says, don’t shoot. He puts Ava’s gun down. He tells Ryan, you owe me, and Chase reads Ryan his rights while the officers cuff him. Ryan looks at Ava. He probably thinks she’s never been hotter.

Sonny asks Jason how Sam is. Jason says, recovering. She’s improving, and should be fine tomorrow. Sonny says they pulled out all the surveillance equipment, and Jason says Spinelli told him there was clean audio on everything that happened. They have good leverage on Shiloh, but he doesn’t know if it was worth it.

Sam dreams of being in the tower with Shiloh. He tells her it’s their special place, where they’ll see their first dawn together. Bleh.

Brad asks what Shiloh did to Julian, and Julian says, he’s poison. The only thing they’ve got going for them is that Shiloh doesn’t suspect Willow’s son is Wiley. If he goes for custody, the whole, messy situation will be exposed, and Brad will lose Wiley. Brad says, and Lucas. Tell him what to do.

Sonny goes into Shiloh’s hospital room. He flicks Shiloh’s face with his fingers, and I almost fall off of my chair. He says, good. Shiloh is awake. Remember his philosophy? Family first always, at any cost.

Julian says he’s not telling Brad what to do. He’s been dragged into this mess enough. Brad says he can’t trust himself not to say anything tonight. Julian tells him to revisit it when he’s thinking more clearly, but Brad says he has no time. Julian says, go home. One way or another, he promises not let take anyone take away Wiley, especially Shiloh.

Sonny says Shiloh messed with his family. Now he’s going to pay the price. That trip down the stairs was just a start. Sonny puts his face close to Shiloh’s, and says, terrible things are going to start happening, unless he hands over Kristina’s Pledge. Think it over. Someone will be by in the morning to discuss the details. Shiloh looks angry, and then sort of defeated. I wondered why Sonny didn’t ask for all of the Pledges, but I assume that will be evidence against Shiloh in an upcoming trial.

Sam continues to dream. Shiloh says, everything has been leading up to this moment. He kisses her, and unbuttons his shirt, saying, they’re destined to be together. She pushes at him, and Jason grabs him. She wakes up, and Jason comes to her bed. He says, it’s okay. She’s safe. She says, it’s really over; he’s really there. He says he’s not going anywhere, and holds her.

Laura tells Lulu, they got him. Chase is making the arrest as they speak. Lulu says, that’s good news, especially (WOTD) for Jordan. Laura feels the same way, but he’s managed to escape before. Lulu doesn’t believe it, and says, this time it will be different. He outwitted himself, and there’s no escape. He’s going to go to prison, and staying there.

Chase asks if Ava is okay, and Curtis asks to borrow Chase’s phone. Ryan smiles. Chase asks Ava for a contact, so he can take a statement later. As Ryan goes past Ava, he says she couldn’t pull the trigger. She loves him. An officer tells him, move, and shoves him forward. Ava picks up the knife, and plunges it into Ryan’s back. He falls. Chase’s eyes bug out.

Next time, Neil asks how the plan worked; Scotty tells Ava if Ryan dies, she faces a murder rap; and Sam tells Shiloh, game over. You lose. The digital guide says it’s a new show on Monday, but I doubt it, since it’s Memorial Day.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Five minutes to the Nurses Ball. Maxie tells Nina that she has to be there has to be on the red carpet, not making grand entrance. Sydney Valjean (Chandra Wilson) joins Nina, who thought she’d be late. Sydney says, never, especially when she’s hosting. Nina reminds her that she’s co-hosting, and Sydney says she knows it’s Nina’s night. Maxie is live tweeting, and Nina tells Sydney to go easy on the guests’ outfits, but she says she stands for truth in fashion. She’ll be cordial, but she’s not going to lie. Nina says if someone is wearing something… challenging, she’ll take it. Starting with the first guest. She’s extra.

In Toronto, Curtis and Laura are tied back to back. Curtis comes to, and tells Laura, wake up. They have trouble. She opens her eyes, and says, oh my God.

Carly comes downstairs in a sparkly red gown. Sonny tells her that she looks great, and asks what the verdict is. Are they staying or going?

Nina welcomes the viewers to the 2019 GH Nurses Ball. She’s being joined by Crimson magazine’s New York fashion editor, Sydney Valjean. It’s the first Ball Sydney has been to in person, and she’s ready to get the night started. Nina says for once, they’re on the same page. She usually saves this guest for last, but suggests they get to the good stuff first, and introduces Lucy, who’s wearing a mosaic patterned dress with a fishtail hem. Sydney says she looks stunning. Lucy gushes over Sydney, saying she’s such a fangirl. Nina says she’s right there too. Can Lucy give the audience a taste of what to expect? and Lucy says, no. She doesn’t want to ruin the delicious surprises. She goes over to Maxie, who compliments her dress, which Lucy calls delirious. She says, let the Nurses Ball begin.

Doc and Ava come in, and Sydney says Doc is looking dapper. Ava says, isn’t he though? Ava is wearing a black gown with sleeves of silver fringe dripping down to a cuff at the wrist. Nina tells her, kudos for being bold. She asks what they’re looking forward to, and Doc appreciates the raising of money for a truly worthy cause. Ava says they want to help any way they can. They move on to Maxie. Ava asks if there’s something wrong, and Maxie says she’s just surprised to see them together. Ava says, it will take some getting used to.

Nina introduces Scotty as lawyer extraordinaire. Does he want to say hello to the audience? He says, hello… and goodbye. Maxie asks who he’s wearing, and he says, expensive. She wonders who has his trousers in a twist, and he looks at Doc and Ava, saying, those two are all wrong, Maxie says, agreed, and he says he wants to make it right. He blocks the camera with his hand.

Laura tells Curtis, he’s gone. That poor woman. He killed her after she helped him. Curtis says, he killed her because he knew she was going to help them. He doesn’t think Ryan is coming back any time soon. It’s up to them to get themselves out. She says, please tell her that he has a knife in his pocket. He thinks the corners of the chair is sharp enough. If they work together, they can free themselves. She says, wait a minute. She smells gas.

Carly tells Sonny that Josslyn is definitely not going, but wants them to go. Sonny doesn’t want to, but Carly doesn’t know. She asks what he thinks, and he says it would be good for Carly if she went. She knew he’d say that, and he wonders why she asked. She tells him, next time tell her what she wants to hear, Sonny says he secretly hates this night. It reminds him of Stone, and how he’s gone, and the others who have died; but he hears Stone in his head, telling him, get off your ass, and go, so he goes. He sees people propping each other up, having a good time, and loving each other. He sees what good it does, and he’s glad he put his tux on and went. Carly says they’ll wait for Kristina to get there.

Franco picks up Elizabeth at the hospital. She looks like a princess, in blue sleeveless gown with a train. He says, wow, and she tells him that he looks handsome. He says she’s so beautiful, and kisses her. Epiphany tells them to get a room – or at least a supply closet. Elizabeth and Franco agree Epiphany looks great, and she does in an orange gown with a tie at the waist and a front slit. TJ, Deanna, and Amy join them. TJ says they’re ready to get their Ball on, and Deanna says she’ll call an Uber. They don’t want to miss the red carpet. Franco says he hired an enormous stretch limo. They can’t have the Ball without the nurses, and they’re going to arrive in style. Amy says Franco is ridiculously nice. Franco suggests they get going.

Nina introduces Willow escorted by Chase. She says, rumor has it that he’s performing again, and he says she’ll have to wait and see. She says Willow must know, but she says, he’s like a vault. She tried to get it out of him. Sydney asks, how? and Chase tells Willow, just be patient. Sydney says, they’re adorable. Nina is like, meh, but then says, he’s adorable, and runs to Valentin. They kiss.

Sasha comes in with Michael. Nina is happy to see them there together. Michael is happy to be there. It’s a cause dear to his heart. Nina says, which he showed with his company’s generous donation. She thanks him. Sydney knows it’s Willow’s first Ball, and asks how she feels. Willow says she was nervous at first, but she’s ready to have fun now.

Ava thanks Doc. He says, for what? and she says she was close to ripping Nina’s face off, and he smoothed the waters. He says she has prioritize. They have a bigger mission tonight. Ava thinks Ryan won’t be able to resist, and he agrees. She’s the best way to draw Ryan out, but nothing with Ryan ever goes according to plan.

Curtis says he can smell the gas, and feels it. He coughs, and Laura says she knows what Ryan is doing. Curtis suggests she fill him in. She says Ryan was supposed to die in a funhouse explosion. He wants her to die the same way he was supposed to. Curtis says, a funhouse? He’s not having much fun. There’s no way he’s going to let this freak win.

Lucy asks Scotty what Doc is thinking. Scotty says, Doc thinks he can douse his grief with guilt, and Ava is milking it for all it’s worth. It’s like a like runaway train, and they have to put brakes on.

Michael hears Maxie is on online tweeting duty, and she tells them to smile.

Nina says, here come newlyish weds, Franco and Elizabeth. Sydney admires Elizabeth’s dress, and Nina asks if they’re looking forward to the performances. Franco says he really stays for the nurses. He feels fortified being with them. He tells Nina, a gaggle of rowdy nurses is coming, and the gaggle follows them in. Epiphany asks who’s he calling rowdy? She runs a tight ship. TJ says, a tighter ship has never been run. Nina introduces Epiphany has GH’s head nurse, and Sydney asks if Magic Milo will be joining them. Epiphany says he had a work conflict, so Milo is keeping the magic in his pants this year.

Sydney introduces renowned coffee importer, Sonny Corinthos, and his lovely wife. Sydney says the cause has a special significance to Sonny’s family. Sonny says, it’s always a good time. It’s a blessing be there, and realize how precious life is. He and Carly kiss.

Michael tells Sasha that he’s sorry if Nina gushing over him made her feel uncomfortable. She says, it didn’t. She thought it was sweet.

Chase tells Willow that he has a great idea. The next time he visits her class, he’ll bring Thor, but also deputize the kids. She thinks it is a great idea, but he’ll have to do it in someone else’s class. She was fired. She’s finishing the yea, and then she’s done. He asks when it happened, and she says, yesterday. He’s so sorry, and asks if it’s because of the Charlotte thing. She says she doesn’t agree with Nina and Valentin’s choices a lot, but the truth is, she could have handled it better. Chase suggests focusing on the upside. There are a lot of private schools that would jump at the chance to hire her. Sometimes things that seem to be the worst, actually turn out to be the best. She says it worked out for the best the night she met him.

Franco tells Elizabeth that no one can hold a candle to her. She says it’s going to be a good night, and he says, it’s already pretty good.

Maxie hugs Peter, and brings him over to Nina. She introduces Maxie as her superior fashion editor, who’s doing double work. With her, is the publisher of The Invader, along with his star reporter, Lulu. Maxie hopes it’s less eventful than last year. I die over Lulu’s dress, which is sparkly and from fairyland. Nina gets something caught in her throat, and excuses herself. Sydney says she thought Nina would never leave, and asks about Lulu’s dress.

Unfortunately, I don’t get to hear the answer. Nina goes on the terrace, and sees Jax. She says she’s looking for water, and he asks if she’ll settle for champagne. She says, sure, and sips it. She apologizes, saying she doesn’t usually steal people’s booze, but her throat closed up. He asks if it was an interview with press, and she says she’s a publisher doing this for charity. He says it’s generous of her. She doesn’t know if her throat closed because of the lights (?) or because she hates those two. Did she just say that out loud? Jax says she’s lucky he doesn’t know who she’s referring too. She says champagne goes to her head, and thanks him, saying she’ll see him on the red carpet.

Carly sees Michael, and he introduces Sasha to her and Sonny. Carly says they’ve already met. At the MetroCourt after Sasha’s workout. It’s nice to see her again. Michael says, no Josslyn? and Carly says, no, but she insisted they come. She had second, third, and fourth thoughts about it. Michael tells her to give Josslyn space and confidence. She’ll be okay. Carly excuses herself to go to the ladies room. Sonny says, Michael knows she’s going to text her daughter, right. Michael says, 100%.

Lucy says Scotty knows what to do. He says she just told him. Just go. Lucy says, it’s going to work, and gives Scotty a thumbs up.

Ava tells Doc, don’t worry. Ryan won’t come there with all these people. He’ll wait until she’s alone.

Mac and Felicia arrive. Sydney says it’s not their first Nurses Ball. What’s their favorite act from over the years. Mac says Mr. Something-or-Other (a bad act he did once), of course (🍷).

Sydney welcomes Jax back, and he says he’s happy to be back. She asks if he’s performing, and he says, Sonny sang last year, so maybe he’ll do a dance number. Anything is possible. A reporter grabs him, and asks if it’s a quick visit, or will Port Charles be seeing more of him? He says they’ll see what happens. He likes to keep his options open. Nina stutters trying to ask Jax a question, and Sydney says he’s an international financier; what brings him back to Port Charles? He says he lives in Australia, and Nina says she loves Australia. He asks if she’s been there, and she says, no, but the accent is great. Jax says he just finished a project there, and he’s looking into some opportunities. He’s missed Port Charles, and it’s great to be back, especially for an important cause. Nina says he should say hello to Maxie, and trails off. Sydney tells him, have a good evening, and pokes Nina. Maxie says she didn’t know he was back, and asks how long he’s home for. He says, indefinitely.

Sam and Shiloh walk the carpet. Nina doesn’t know him, and Sam explains that he runs DOD. Nina says, fantastic, and asks where Jason is. It’s not surprising he’s not there, since he probably doesn’t go to events like this. Shiloh says, it’s irrelevant. Sam isn’t defined by anyone else’s decision. Nina says, awesome, and passes them to Maxie. Sam says they heard she was live tweeting. Maxie says she was, but she just shut down. She has to find a friend. I laugh at Sam’s face when their picture is taken. It’s amusing in general how some of the photos have their true feelings written all over their faces.

A man goes up to Doc, telling him a woman passed out on the red carpet. They took her upstairs, but now she’s hysterical. He asks Doc to take a look. Doc asks Ava to excuse him. She says, if it starts, she’ll save him a seat. Scotty smiles.

Valentin approaches Peter and Lulu. He says Lulu looks exceptionally nice. She says Charlotte helped her pick out her dress. Valentin says, she helped Nina with her ensemble as well. Lulu says, maybe she’ll follow in her stepmother’s footsteps. Jax walks in.

Carly tells Jax that she so did not want to come. Jax says he kept offering to bail, and Carly says Josslyn ordered him. Josslyn doesn’t want to be the reason they stayed home. Jax says, it shows they’re listening, and have faith in her.

Lulu sees Sonny at the bar. He thought her mom was coming, but she says Laura is working on a special assignment. He says, mayor business? and she says, something like that.

Curtis tells Laura, they’ve got to get out. She thinks she can reach his knot. She gets his arm untied, and he says she is good.

Scotty tells Ava to with him to see something, and drags her off.

Doc knocks on a room door. He says received word someone needed assistance. Lucy pulls him into the room. She’s wearing nothing but a slip, and he assumes she didn’t faint on the carpet. She says, no, but it’s truly an emergency. Ava doesn’t know him like she does. She doesn’t see he’s feeling guilty about something he didn’t do. He says, that’s not what’s happening. She says he has a big, generous heart, but he doesn’t have to take care of Ava. Please let her save him from himself.

Jax talks to Josslyn on the phone. He says if she changes her mind, he has his phone on. Lulu, Peter, and Valentin come down the hall. Lulu introduces her boss and Valentin to Jax, but I get the vibe that Jax and Valentin know each other.

Willow and Chase sip champagne. She says, it’s no vintage of love, but it will get her through the evening. She suddenly stops, and Chase asks if she’s okay. She sees Shiloh and Sam.

Nina introduces Finn and Anna, former super spy. Sydney says they’re a lovely looking couple. At least Anna doesn’t look like an old lady this year, and has a nicely draped, black sleeveless dress; kind of Grecian. Sydney asks who she’s wearing, and Anna is like, umm… Nina says don’t keep them in suspense, and Anna stares at Robert, who just walked in. Nina introduces him as another super spy, and says he’s looking dashing. As they all are. Sydney says, an intriguing trio, and Nina says, for sure. She tells the viewers, the Ball is starting.

Chase tells Willow that she’s safe. Sam asks Shiloh if he’s sure he wants to do this. He says he just wants to say hello to Sonny and Carly. He asks how Kristina is, and Sonny says, better now. Shiloh says they’re looking forward to her return, but Carly says she wouldn’t count on it. He assures them he has the best intentions, as well as being Kristina’s friend. Sonny says he’s a philosopher, right? He says he used to be called that. Carly bets he’s been called other things too. Sonny says the philosophy he goes by is, family first, and always, at any cost.

Curtis gets loose, and unties Laura. He says they have to get out of there. It’s gonna blow. They run outside, and get blown off the porch.

Scotty brings Ava to the hotel room where Doc is. She says she has no time for this nonsense. He tells her, trust him. It’s for her own good. He opens the door, and goes, ah-ha! Caught you! but looks surprised himself.

Nina tells Sydney that she was flawless. Sydney says Nina too. They make a great team. Nina says, in print and on the red carpet. Sydney thinks Nina has someone waiting for her. Valentin is there, and says, let’s get out of here. Nina and Sydney air kiss. Nina says they’ll talk soon, and Sydney says, not too soon. Nina goes inside with Valentin.

Finn tells Robert that he wants his ring back.

Felicia tells Anna that she and Robert made quite an entrance. Which one is her date?

The Nurses Ball is about to begin. Everyone takes their seats. Jax watches Nina and Valentin.

On Monday, Lucy welcomes everyone, Anna tells Robert that Finn is her date, Maxie says Shiloh is the perfect name for a cult leader, and Jason tells Spinelli that they’re setting Shiloh up tonight.

🍳 Tonight, I happened to catch MasterChef: Celebrity Family Showdown. I hadn’t even heard about this particular Gordon Ramsay effort, but as if getting that blessing on a Friday night wasn’t enough, Lisa Vanderpump was a contestant, teamed with her daughter Pandora, against Snooki and JWoww from The Jersey Shore. The other two teams were Johnny Weir and his brother, vs Tara Lipinski and her husband. It was cooking something with a while fish, and Tara won, but who cares about them? The next teams’ challenge was to recreate a dish from tasting it, blindfolded. Lisa and Pandy were given a swordfish dish, while the Shore babes were given veal piccata. Puffy was along for the ride with Lisa, and although he was presented with his own tiny apron (so he wouldn’t feel left out – aww!) by Gordon, he was palmed off to Ken when the cooking started. The prize was $25K to the winner’s choice of charity, but the loser would still get $15K. Both teams were off somewhat, with Lisa and Pandy substituting snapper for swordfish, and Snooki and JWoww making marsala instead of piccata. Since they got the veal part right, the latter team won. I couldn’t even tell you the charity, since I was concentrating on Lisa, whose money would have gone to the dogs. My favorite part was when Lisa kicked the fridge door shut with her foot. Queens who can do no wrong! They’re just like us! The next part airs on Wednesday, May 22nd at 8 pm (FOX), and will be rerun on Friday at 9 pm. Tori Spelling, Jennie Garth and their daughters will be competing against Evander Holyfield, Oscar De La Hoya and their daughters.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Finn checks in on Jordan. He says she looks busy, and she says she’s working. He thinks it might be time to take a leave of absence. She says she can handle it, and he says he knows she can, but it’s her remaining kidney he’s worried about. She says he wins; she’ll take a break. He asks, how many weeks? and she says, ten minutes. She thought he said Doc was a match. TJ overhears and comes in, saying that’s great news. Finn says, not so fast.

Toronto. On someone’s porch, Curtis says she has four kids and is taking care of elderly parents. Even if she wanted to help Ryan… Laura says, when would she have the time? She says, at least their cover is holding up. Curtis says they’re from Revenue Canada and there’s a discrepancy in the records. He hopes no one sees through it. He says, four down, and nineteen to go. Laura says, who knows? They could be behind the next door. Curtis says, true, but so could Ryan.

At Charlies with Doc, Ava is disappointed that Julian isn’t there. She thought he’d be the perfect litmus test for their relationship. He knows her almost better than anyone else. Doc wonders why she didn’t let Julian in on it, but she says, the fewer people who know, the better. He asks if she thinks so little of Julian, and she says at least her brother doesn’t kill people for sport. Doc says he doesn’t need a reminder of the damage Ryan did. Ava says that’s why they need to convince everyone that they’re in a caring relationship. If she didn’t know better, she’d think they were having their first lover’s quarrel.

At their hotel, Peter says, sorry the flight was so long, but Maxie says, it’s not the journey; it’s the destination. He doesn’t think that’s the saying, and she says, it is today. It’s everything he said, including the pressure free separate rooms. She asks if they should see what’s next for them?

Alexis calls Kristina, and leaves a message asking if Julian gave Kristina her job back. Sonny knocks at the door. He says he came over to see how she and Kristina are doing. He knows them being under the same roof isn’t easy. Alexis says, it’s not a problem right now; Kristina isn’t there. He asks where she is.

Shiloh tells Kristina that he had a feeling right here. He puts his hand to his heart. He knew today would be the day he saw her again. She says here she is. She goes inside, and he says, welcome home.

Finn says TJ is a medical student, but also the commissioner’s son. Maybe she’ll listen to him better. Despite a donor being a match, why would they question a potential donor? TJ says they do a battery of tests to make sure the kidney is safe for the patient to receive, but also that it’s safe for the donor to give in the first place. Finn says, exactly right. TJ says, speaking as the commissioner’s son, does Finn anticipate a problem? Finn says, no, but it’s medicine, and there are no guarantees. He’s going to check on the tests now, and give them time to talk.TJ asks how Jordan is feeling. She calls him Dr. Ashford, and he says he’s not a doctor yet. She tells him that she’s practicing, but he doesn’t want her to jinx it. She says other than being anxious, she’s not bad. He hopes she’s playing games on her laptop, but she says she’s working. He tries to take the laptop, but she hangs onto it. She says the upside of being stuck there is that she gets to see more of him. He’s glad her spirits up, but wonders if she’s covering for Curtis. He hasn’t seen Curtis around, and wonders what’s up with them.

Laura and Curtis leave an apartment, and Curtis says, that was aggressive. At least they know there’s no way she arranged the pharmacy break-in. Who would have guessed she was a tax collector? They could have been turned in, but it was a good save with the fake ID. Laura says she came prepared. He says please tell him the next one is a nurse specializing in amputations. She says, close. From what she found out online, the woman volunteers at two hospitals, likes tall white men over forty, and here’s the kicker… He says, she loves strays. Laura says they might have s winner. So let me get this right. She found all that out about this woman, but didn’t know what the last person did for a living? Okay.

Ava says the way Doc is glued to his phone, she doesn’t know whether it’s compromising the idea of their relationship or making it more realistic. He says he was hoping for good news. She ask if everything is okay. She knows he misses Laura. He says Laura is in Canada searching for Ryan. Ava says, no doubt, he’d rather be with her, but he’s doing more good here. They have to be seen public if their plan is going to work. Does he mind her asking what he’s waiting for, if not Laura? He says he’s waiting to hear from Finn. Ava says, he’s not sick, is he? He says, on the contrary. He’s hoping to donate a kidney to Jordan. He’s a match, but before he can donate, he had to go through some tests. He’s hoping to hear soon. She says, he’s just so not his brother. He says he should hope not. She supports his decision, but they are in the middle of a sting. It will be hard to be seen in public if he’s in the hospital. He says he’s talking about saving a life, and she says she’s talking about finishing the bastard off once and for all.

Alexis explains to Sonny that Kristina is trying to get her job back, and he’s surprised she believes Kristina. She could go back to Shiloh the first chance she gets. Neil arrives, and Alexis says they could use an expert. Sonny thinks she should lock Kristina in her room, but she opted to let Kristina go. Which one of them is right?

Shiloh asks if Kristina wants some tea, but she says, no thank you. He says she seems anxious, and she backs up when he tries to touch her. He says her family said she was taking time away to rethink her life. She says that’s exactly what she was doing; rethinking her life and choices. He says, good. That means she’s coming back stronger than ever. She says she’s not coming back. He says he’s disappointed, and she says she’s sorry he feels that way. He says he misses her more than she knows. She says, since she’s no longer a member, she’d appreciate it if he gave her Pledge back to her.

Sonny appreciates everything Neil has done, but his part is finished. Neil says it’s not. He was retained to treat Kristina, and there’s still work to do. He’s questioning whether Alexis should have let Kristina leave. He says they can sit tight and see if she goes back to Shiloh, or chase her down, and guarantee she does. It’s up to Sonny. Sonny says, fine. Alexis thanks him. Neil knows they have their differences, but once they got going, they were a good team. Miss Tait survived her experience, and it was a pivotal moment when she told Kristina about it. He thinks she got through. Kristina knows Shiloh poses and emotional and sexual threat. Alexis did the right thing. He thinks they should trust their daughter enough to let her go.

Shiloh says Kristina can’t simply take back her Pledge. She asks, why not? It’s not like he needs it for anything. He says, that’s not the point. That’s not how this works. She says it’s up to him; DOD is his operation. He tells her, it was a symbol of good faith. She wonders where all that crap about loving her for her goodness and spirit went when he was planning on raping her. He says he’d never do anything like that, and she says he drugged her. He lead her to the attic, had her put on that sister wife dress, and gave her drugged tea. He insists it was Valerian root, just to make her comfortable. She says it was to make certain she wouldn’t protest having sex with him. He says he doesn’t know who she is. Who put these ideas in her head? She asks if he wants a name, and he says he would love a name. She says the name is David Henry Shiloh Archer – him.

Ava tells Doc that they shouldn’t be fighting. They’re supposed to be love birds. He says imagine how annoyed Ryan will be when he finds out Doc is donating an organ to the official who exposed him, and his soulmate is by his side. She says, that’s good. They should milk it for all it’s worth. He asks how they do that. It’s not like they’re surrounded by paparazzi. She says, who needs them? She takes out her phone, and he says, a selfie? She says, a convincing one. Pucker up. She kisses him, and takes the picture.

Jordan tells TJ, Curtis is out of town working on a case. He asks, what kind? and she says, a missing person. He asks if the missing person could be Ryan. A few weeks ago Curtis asked him about a list of medications and what they’re for. One of them was for clotting purposes, and he doesn’t have to be Sherlock Holmes to make that leap. Curtis is looking for Ryan, isn’t he?

Peter and Maxie come into the hotel suite with a bunch of shopping bags. Maxie says, the shopping. Who knew? She takes out a tiny beret, and says James is going to rock this. Peter says there’s nothing James can’t rock. She says she’s having the best time. He says, him too; except for the weather. He didn’t realize it would be cold. He was hoping to have their first meal al fresco, so they could watch passersby and he could show her off to the world. She says, everything is amazingly beautiful, and he says, like her.

Alexis is sure Kristina will walk through the door any minute. Sonny asks when she left, and Alexis says it was about an hour ago. Maybe she went to get coffee, or visit Valerie or Sam. Sonny says, as long as it’s not DOD. Neil says they need to let Kristina be an adult. He thinks she’s healing, and doesn’t believe she’d let Shiloh influence her anymore. Sonny says, unless he holds her Pledge over her head.

Shiloh tells Kristina, calm down. He suggests they talk through it, and make peace. She says, no. She doesn’t want to listen to him talk circles around her. She’s leaving and wants her signed Pledge and recording. He says it was her gift to him. She may have lost faith in DOD, but he has the utmost faith in her. <yawn>

Jordan asks TJ to keep it between them, but he says he has to tell Molly. They don’t keep secrets. She says they’re still young. She asks if he swears they’ll keep it between themselves, and he says, of course (🍷). She says he’s right. Curtis is searching for Ryan. He asks if there are any leads, and she says, a few. He guesses it’s an okay reason for Curtis not be there.

Doc asks if Ava is all right, and she says she’s fine. She just needs a minute to post it on social media. He says her hands are shaking, but she says she’s totally fine. She asks if he wants her to send it to him or should she just share and repost? He says it seems to be the digital way of being a couple today. She says, it will drive Ryan crazy. She’s done; his turn. He gets a text from Finn that his test results are in, and needs to go. She says she’s going with him; his doting girlfriend. In for a penny… Ha-ha! The look on his face.

Curtis knocks on the door, but he doesn’t think anyone is in there. Laura sees the mail spilling out of the mailbox, and looks at it. She says, it goes back for months; as far back as when Ryan was in Port Charles. Curtis says they might as well cross it off the list. Inside the house, someone watches them.

Maxie suggests she and Peter bundle up, take a walk, and find the perfect place to watch the sunset. He says she knows how to make the best of a situation. She knows he had a plan, but the things they were going to see aren’t going anywhere. She’s sorry it isn’t the first date he’d intended, and he says, the best laid plans. She asks if that’s Shakespeare, but he says, Douglas Adams, and before him, Robert Burns. She says, it’s perfect. He says for him too. She says, kind of French counts, and he, absolutely. They kiss.

Curtis says when Laura first insisted on coming, he thought he’d have to mind his P’s and Q’s, and be on the straight and narrow. She says, she is the mayor, and he asks, how is it the mayor got personally involved in the search? She wants to see Ryan brought to justice for the people he hurt. He says, and Ava? She says they’ve had differences in the past, but no one deserves what Ryan did. He says Ava has been spending a lot of time with Doc. She must feel some kind of way. She says she does, but it’s not her business. He says, at this point, he thinks they’re making it everyone’s business. It’s all over the news and social media. Laura says she has no control over what people say or do. Curtis says it’s almost like they’re making themselves a target to flush out Ryan, so they can take matters into their own hands. She says that’s why they need to find Ryan before he finds them. Curtis says, especially since Doc is a match for Jordan. He wants the question of Ryan settled before the transplant.

At the hospital, Finn notes that Ava is there too. Doc says he’ll just tell her what Finn says anyway. They’re very close. Finn is sorry, but Doc isn’t a suitable kidney donor. Doc says, he’s a match, but Finn says his glucose levels are too high; he’s pre-diabetic. He imagines it was brought on by the ordeal of being malnourished at Ferncliff. I’m not sure what that says about how they feed the patients there. Doc says, so he’ll eat right and exercise, but Finn says they need the kidney sooner than he’ll be able to provide one. Doc says there has to be something he can do. Finn knows he’s disappointed, but there’s nothing more he can do.

TJ tells Jordan that Kiki liked Finn, and he agrees. Jordan says, Finn is proof you can be wildly successful without a discernable bedside manner. TJ says, in watching Finn, he thought could specialize in infectious diseases. Jordan says whatever he decides to do, he should do because he loves it, not because someone else thinks he should, even her. She’s happy and proud of him, no matter what. Finn comes back, and says, sorry. They can’t use Doc.

Alexis says, if Shiloh is going to use the Pledge, then good. Sonny says, that’s easy for her to say. She’s not… He looks at Neil. Neil says everything is confidential, unless he’s planning on committing a crime. Alexis says, extortion is a felony, but Sonny says only if they can prove it. She says, Kristina will testify, and so will Willow. It’s to Shiloh’s benefit to keep it a secret. Sonny says, he seems bulletproof. He asks Neil when they can question Kristina about it.

Shiloh tells Kristina that he’d be remiss if he wasn’t honest. She says, about the Pledge? and he says, about her. She’s changed drastically since she left. She says her eyes have been opened, but he says she’s closed them, and her mind and heart. She was thriving there. She found her passion and heart. Even if she walks out the door like this, the door will always be open to her. He hopes she walks through it again soon. Kristina walks out, and Shiloh looks a little worried.

Peter and Maxie kiss some more, and Maxie says, hold that thought. She has a teeny errand to run. She saw a lingerie boutique in the lobby. Tonight is not the night she’s wearing her flannel PJ’s to bed. She’ll be right back. She leaves, and he smiles.

Laura asks if Curtis is saying Doc offered to give Jordan a kidney. He thought she knew. He didn’t mean to break confidence. She can understand why he’d want do that, and asks if it’s already been scheduled. Curtis says it needs to happen soon, but there are still hurdles before it’s a go. He knows they want to get out of their sooner than later, and Laura says they can work while they eat. She asks how Jordan is doing, and he says she was fine this morning. He’ll hear later if Doc is the donor.

Doc tells Ava that he wanted to do it; he needed to, in a way, make amends, Ava says, it’s a noble gesture. He says, it was a way to help save the commissioner’s life. It was tangible; giving part of himself. A way to make up for one life that was taken. Ava says, that’s not how this works. He can’t make up for the lives someone else took. Her daughter is gone, and nothing will make up for it, or any of Ryan’s victims. He asks if there’s nothing he can do, and she says, forget amends and making it even. Focus on the possible; being a good person, the good man that he is. He says, is he? She says he is, and leans in to kiss him. He backs up, and asks what the hell she’s doing.

Finn tells Jordan that Doc’s body needs his kidney, but they get new donors all the time. TJ says, it’s a crapshoot, and Finn says they can talk about alternatives. He knows TJ isn’t a match, but does she have any other family members? TJ says she never talks about her relatives. There has to be someone out there. A cousin, an aunt, a second cousin?

On the phone with Harmony, Shiloh says, as he predicted, the dummy Pledges were stolen. Luckily, they were moved to a safe location. I’m thinking, the lighthouse.

Sonny tells Alexis that Sam is working on getting Kristina’s Pledge. She says it’s his turn to call Kristina. She already did and got voicemail. He asks why she doesn’t call again, but she says if she calls, it will sound like she’s badgering Kristina. If he calls, she’ll think it’s adorable. Until he judges her. Then she’ll hate his guts. So be adorable, and don’t judge. Kristina walks in, and Alexis says her dad came by to check on her. Neil came to see if there’s anything she wants to talk about. Sonny hears she went to Charlie’s to try and get her job back. He asks how that went, and Kristina says, fine. He asks where she went afterward. Neil asks how was her first day out? She says Julian was a little mad, and it was harder than she expected, but still not as hard as going to DOD. Neil asks how that went, and she says, not great. She made it clear to Shiloh that she won’t be coming back. Alexis asks how he took it, and Kristina says, he was hurt. Sonny asks if she’s okay, and Alexis says she’s clearly upset. Alexis asks what Kristina said. Kristina says, nothing he could predict, and nothing he wanted to hear. She said, goodbye. She just wants to be alone, and goes upstairs. They all look at each other.

Ava is so embarrassed. She’s sorry, and asks Doc to try and understand. She was so in love. Doc says, with Ryan, and Ava says, no, with a man she thought was Doc. That Doc understood her. He accepted and loved her as she is. She knows he was a lie, and a monster. He murdered her daughter, and then climbed into bed with her for an alibi. For a moment, she forgot. She asks Doc to forgive her. He says what Ryan did to her was horrific. He’ll do what it takes to make it right, including pretending they’re in a relationship. But he wants Ava to understand, he loves his wife. Ava says she understands, and she’s sorry. It was just a momentary confusion. He says, understood, but if she gets confused again, he’ll shut this whole thing down. That seems just a wee bit harsh. Her lips didn’t even get that close to him.

Jordan says her family is scattered. She’s not in touch with anyone. Finn says she could give a DNA sample to one of those website that help people find family members. She says she’ll think about it. I have the feeling she doesn’t mean that, but the topic will be revisited. Finn’s sorry. He wishes he had better news. He’ll check in later. He leaves, and Jordan tells TJ that they’ll get through this. She promises everything will be fine. TJ says, okay. How?

Peter pops champagne. There’s a knock at the door. He opens it, and Maxie breezes in. She says, shopping success. And she got a bonus. Look who she found. Curtis and Laura come in. Maxie says she overheard the clerk telling them the hotel was booked up. Laura says they’re working on an investigation, and they thought they’d rest up while the worst of the storm passes. Maxie says they have the room, and obviously she couldn’t leave them stranded, so she invited them to hang out there. Peter says, welcome, and tries not to act disappointed. I try not to act like I must have missed a crucial point in the story. I assume there was a storm, and Peter’s plane got diverted to Toronto?

Alexis thinks they all know what went on at DOD. Sonny says Shiloh threatened to use Kristina’s Pledge. Does she think he’s pissed enough to blackmail Kristina? Neil knows this is important, but it’s a problem for later. They should focus on the great that happened. Sonny says, what great thing? Neil says Kristina faced Shiloh, and it was her first day of freedom. She faced the man who tried to brainwash her, and made every effort to separate her from her family. And what did she do? Sonny says, she came home. Neil says, not just home. The home of a mother she has a contentious, turbulent relationship with. She chose her family. Take the win. Sonny says, he’s right. No matter what happens, they have their daughter back.

On the phone, Shiloh says he had the feeling someone would try to get ahold of Kristina’s Pledge. He has it somewhere safe and sound for whenever they need it.

On Monday, Alexis is glad Julian did it, Ned says Oscar had a plan, and Josslyn says it’s the last thing she wants to do; she’s not ready.

😏 Today, for the first time ever, I saw Judge Judy have a hard time not smiling, and that includes the times children have testified. A dude went on for a bit about what a fan he was, and her mouth twitched for a while. He was kind of a cool older guy. Like a peripheral character from a Spike Lee movie.

💍 90 Day Fiancé has yet another spin-off Pillow Talk – Mondays at 10 pm. This is a fun show. Another take on People’s Couch, various cast members watch the shows from Happily Ever After? that have other cast members in them. Did you follow that? David and Annie are one of the couples commentating, and it’s shown a whole other side of them. They’re actually very funny and fun.  Anne laughed so hard at one point, she gave the best quote so far: My squid come out of my nose.

The franchise has also been showing Our Journey So Far, both a retrospective of couples from previous seasons. Tonight, Melanie and Devar were up, who I hadn’t seen much of previously. I thought Devar seemed like a super nice guy; good to and for her son, despite her family’s concerns, which were understandable. His mom already lived in the states – she left Jamaica when he was nine to support the family – and she’d already been petitioning to get him here. It was also disconcerting when he said once he started working, he wanted to send 90% back to his sisters in Jamaica. But, they seem to love each other, and I did see them on one of the reunion shows. They looked happy, and that’s all that counts, right? At least he isn’t like Pedro, who is a total mama’s boy a-hole.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Sam asks Jason how he thinks Danny is. She doesn’t think he completely understands Oscar is gone. Jason says he read an article (Jason reads?!) on talking to kids about death. They can’t really process it; only in small bits. He thinks Danny got as much as he can handle, and he’ll circle back when he wants more information. Sam feels like Danny. She can only absorb it in pieces. Jason hugs her.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Kim comes down with her suitcase. Drew doesn’t suppose she’s hungry, but does she want coffee? Kim says, not today. She thinks she’ll just head home. Drew asks why she’s leaving; stay with them.

Willow sees Julian at the school. She asks if he was looking for her, and if everything is okay. He says he’s actually there to enroll his son in pre-K. She didn’t know he had a child that young, and he says his son’s mom is busy, so he told her that he’d do the paperwork. She’s glad she ran into him, and asks if he has a minute. It’s about Brad. She thinks he’s making a terrible mistake.

Michael finds Shiloh in the café. Shiloh just heard about Oscar’s passing. He says he wasn’t aware of it when he ran into Michael earlier. They’re planning a memorial for Oscar’s entrance to the next plain. He thinks Kristina would want be there, and tells Michael, if he hears from her, let her know she always has a home at DOD. He hasn’t forgotten how much of her life she shared with him.

Alexis tells Sonny that they don’t have time for this. Neil said it’s important for them to be there today. Sonny asks if she saw a non-descript car parked at the end of her driveway. She says she can’t see the end of her driveway from there. He says that’s why she can’t see the car there. It’s Detective Spencer.

On the phone, Valerie tells Chase that she hopes Alexis leaves to see Kristina soon. She’s running out of coffee. She tells him just keep doing what he’s doing. She hangs up, and watches Alexis’s house through binoculars.

Kristina and Milo finish a game. She tells him, that, my friend, is how it’s done. He says she’s won three in a row, and she tells him, give up the black jellybeans. More evidence that she’s in a cult. Who likes those? He says, the next time, they’re playing rummy or pinochle. Some things never change. Neil comes in, and says he notices a difference in Kristina since she came. She was combative, and now she seems more relaxed. She says she’s known Max and Milo her whole life, and she’s getting used to him. He says it’s time to evaluate. How does she feel about seeing her parents?

Drew asks Kim to stay few days. He could use the company. The Quartermaines look at her as family. Kim says she’s very grateful for that, and appreciates everything they’ve done for her and Oscar. Oscar had such a connection to the Quartermaines. She remembers how he poured over that tell-all book Josslyn gave him. He talked all the time about it, and the various parks and buildings the Quartermaines donated, and what the family has given to Port Charles. Drew said Oscar told him he was very proud to be part of the family. Kim says, as wonderful and supportive as they’ve been, she’s not a Quartermaine. She needs to go back and face an empty apartment. Putting it off won’t make it easier. Drew gets it, and respects it, but thinks she shouldn’t be alone.

Willow tells Julian, Brad is taking DOD parenting classes. Julian says, Brad is a nervous father, and seems to be benefiting from the classes. Willow says, the classes are a lie; like everything else at DOD, especially their leader.

Michael sits with Shiloh. He says he thinks if Kristina felt at home there, she’d still be at DOD. Shiloh says they all came with baggage. Kristina had the weight of her history with her family wearing on her heavily. Michael must have known. Michael can’t say that he did. Shiloh says Kristina was thriving at DOD. He can’t believe she’d just up and leave. Shiloh tells Michael, when he sees her, say he wants the best for her. Michael says, clearly she felt the need to distance herself. Maybe she realized it didn’t work for her. Would Shiloh be okay with that, since he wants what’s best for her? The way Michael says this is actually a little menacing.

Alexis tells Sonny that Neil said it was essential they both be there. Sonny says, it’s essential she be there. Kristina needs to see Shiloh for who he really is. He tells her not to let the cops follow her, and she says that’s why she’s initiated plan B. Diane knocks at the door, and Valerie watches as she goes inside. Wait a minute. How can Valerie see the front door so well, if Alexis can’t see the end of the driveway? It’s not like she has a periscope. Okay. Suspending disbelief. Valerie tells Chase, this just got interesting. Diane is there. She wonders if Alexis needs legal aid because of possible kidnapping charges.

Sam tells Jason that Shiloh came over after he left. Jason asks if Shiloh was checking on her. She thinks so. She told him she was too upset about Oscar when he called, which wasn’t a lie. She shows him the recorder, and says he gave this to her to use for her Pledge. Jason asks if Shiloh told her what he expects. She says he wants her to say something damaging that would have consequences to herself or someone loves. It’s to show her trust and devotion to DOD. The final step before she’s initiated into the Trust. Jason asks what she’s going to do, and she says, give him what he wants.

Alexis and Diane have switched clothes and put on wigs to look like each other. Sonny asks if Diane is sure she can pull this off. Diane says she learned so much from Max about shaking tail. It was imperative that Valerie know she’s there, but he can’t be on the premises. She tells him, leave be the back door. He says he has that covered. He suggests they don’t mention Oscar to Kristina; they don’t want to upset her. Alexis says she can’t process it yet. Diane is glad Oscar reconciled with his parents before he passed away. Sonny says that’s what they’re trying to do with Kristina. Diane says she always wanted to be a brunette. Alexis as Diane leaves. Valerie watches, and a moment later, she sees Diane leave as Alexis.

Shiloh says Michael assumes Kristina’s absence means she’s not coming back. It’s to her advantage to come back. Michael sees how it’s to Shiloh’s advantage. She’s already given him a substantial amount of money, and there’s more where that came from. She has several rich relatives, and a trust fund that kicks in when she’s thirty. That’s a few years off, but maybe she’s already lost interest. Shiloh thinks Kristina’s commitment to DOD goes deeper than Michael thinks. Shiloh leaves.

Julian asks what Shiloh did to Willow. DOD has done good work; he’s seen it. His ex’s daughter, Kristina, was a big part of it, until she skipped town. Their objectives and values are well-founded, so this is based on what? What harm is there? Willow says the harm is Shiloh. Once he gets his claws in someone, he doesn’t let go. Julian must have known men like that, and it’s not like they twirl their mustache or look sinful. They’re smooth, and seem benign, like Shiloh. He won’t just influence Brad; he’ll influence Julian’s grandson. Is that what he wants to happen? Julian says he has little or no contact with his family. She says she takes it back. She’d rather have Julian in her son’s life than Shiloh. Julian says it’s obviously important to her. He’ll see what he can do to look into it, but Wiley is safe and thriving. He tells her, try to relax, and take comfort in that, and leaves.

Kim thinks she has to give herself a moment, but it will take more than a moment to adjust to life without Oscar. Drew doesn’t think it’s possible, but Kim says they’ll figure out a way through it at. At the end of the day, she has to live in an apartment alone without him. Drew thanks her for coming to Port Charles, and sharing the remarkable boy she raised. She wishes she’d found Drew sooner, and he says, him too. She says, Oscar loved him so much. He was so proud to be Drew’s son. Drew says he was proud to be Oscar’s father. She says he made the last year of Oscar’s life a dream come true. He helped Oscar die happy. They hug, and he gets the door for her. She goes out, and he looks at the empty entryway.

Sam tells Jason that she has Shiloh where she wants him. He trusts her to be in his inner circle. Jason says where he’ll drug her, rape her, and tattoo her. She says she’ll be gone long before that. When Shiloh is listening to her Pledge, she’ll steal Kristina’s Pledge, and be out of there. Jason asks how she’s getting away, and she says he’ll be there to help her. He says, always. He asks what her Pledge is going to be, but she doesn’t know. She’ll invent something. He says if she really wants to help, don’t invent something about herself. Make it about him.

Drew opens the door to Shiloh. Shiloh says he’s so sorry. Drew thanks him, and asks if he wants some coffee. Shiloh says, sure, and comes in. He tells Drew, things like this can humble you. When they were in Afghanistan, they shared a lot of grief; a lot of mutual friends didn’t make it back. It wasn’t until Shiloh almost died that he realized he had no idea what the afterlife meant. Death is not really death. He knows that’s no consolation, but tells Drew to know just because his boy isn’t there, he’s not gone.

At the safe house, Sonny asks Milo how Kristina is. Milo says still beating him at games. Neil says, Milo has a good effect on Kristina, and Sonny says, maybe this session will be a tipping point. Neil asks if Alexis is going to be there, and Sonny says she has a plan, but he doesn’t thinks it will work. Alexis comes in, and Sonny says he stands corrected. Alexis tells them that Valerie is following Diane, and asks where Kristina is. Milo says he’ll check outside to make sure she wasn’t followed, and tells them, good luck. Alexis asks if Kristina is okay, and Neil says, she’s better, but don’t push her. Let her set the pace. He tells them, be careful, don’t engage in inflammatory behavior. Kristina comes downstairs, and Sonny says she looks good. Alexis says she owes Kristina an apology, but Kristina says, first, she needs them to hear her out.

Kim sees a shrine in front of the apartment door; pictures, teddy bears, flowers, signs that say, we love you, Oscar. She looks at everything, and cries. She smiles a little, and reads a note attached to a T-shirt. You caught me when I fell out of a tree. You’re the best! Love, Gigi. She reads another; thank you for throwing a party for us when the school wouldn’t. We already miss you. And another; sorry I never paid you back. Good times. I can’t believe you’re gone. A hand touches her shoulder. It’s Julian.

She hugs Julian, and says she thought she told him that she had to do this alone. He says she did. Is she ready to go inside? She says, no. She wants to read some more. There were so many lives he touched. Julian asks if she knows all of them, and she says, some. He reads a thank you from the super for holding a flashlight when the electricity had a glitch. There’s on from Trina, thanking him for helping with her term paper. She would have never passed the class without his help. Yet another thanks Oscar for helping carry the laundry downstairs. They’ll miss his smile every day. Kim says he didn’t tell her about a lot of this. Julian says, he was well loved and respected. Kim says, people will miss his kindness and spirit. Julian says, he’ll stay alive in the memories.

Drew tells Shiloh that he wishes he known Oscar longer; that they’d had more years. Most of all, he wishes they’d had more years to make more memories. Shiloh says he’s spoken to parents at DOD who have lost a child. They say the pain is unimaginable. He wants Drew to know, Oscar had so much grace. Everybody loved him. He always encouraged Oscar to keep up communication with Drew and his mother. Drew appreciates that, but I’m guessing it’s not lost on him – or me – that Shiloh just made it about himself. Shiloh says, even when they were estranged, Oscar wanted to know stories about Drew’s past. Drew says Oscar understood what happened to him, and he’s made peace with not knowing his past. Shiloh says, has he?

Jason tells Sam, Shiloh wants a secret he can weaponize. What better secret than something that can hurt him? Sam says Shiloh is threatened by Jason, and Jason says, give Shiloh something that can send him to prison.

Kristina says she’s had a lot of time to think. Max and Milo reminded her of the good times, and Neil said Alexis and Sonny both take responsibility for what happened during the last meeting. Alexis and Sonny agree that they do. She says, but it wasn’t just them. She gave Alexis a hard time about her phone. Alexis says she should have shut it off. Kristina says she just did it to get her hands on the phone. What they did was wrong, but she’s seeing why they did it.

Michael goes back to Willow’s classroom – which has been filled with everyone, except all those parents she said were coming. He tells her the therapist thinks Kristina is in a place where she’s willing to listen, so it’s on. He’s ready when she is. She tells him that she had to be honest with Chase; she couldn’t lie. He asks if she’s sure she wants do this. It could possibly be considered illegal, and could cost Willow her relationship.

Sonny knows Kristina is angry because of the way they… he handled things. He didn’t give her mother a choice. Alexis says he didn’t consult her, but she chose to participate. Kristina says the only one reason they’re there is because they love her. She gets that. The other night, her mother didn’t know she was watching, but she heard Alexis say she couldn’t see Kristina when she looked in her eyes. She wanted her little girl back. Up until then, all she could think about was how they hurt her. She felt rejected when they questioned DOD, and justified in her anger. Now she realizes they thought she was choosing DOD over her family, and she never wanted to do that. They don’t know what happened between her and DOD, but if her mom can’t recognize her, she doesn’t blame her for feeling scared, or what she did because of it. It’s not her mom’s fault that she doesn’t recognize Kristina. Neil says, it’s not hers either. She says, maybe not, but it’s not Shiloh’s. Sonny grits his teeth.

Diane goes to Kelly’s. Valerie says, she’s been everywhere, and lists several places. Now she’s at Kelly’s. She hopes Alexis is meeting someone. She needs coffee.

Shiloh tells Drew, if there’s some way for him to remember his old life… Drew says he can’t risk retrieving his old memories at the risk of forgetting the past five years, especially the memories of his children. He just lost one, and he’s already told Shiloh this. Why is he telling him again? Shiloh says, sorry. People make irrational decisions when grieving. Drew says, that’s not happening here. Shiloh, who doesn’t know when to shut up, says Oscar’s not really gone, and we grasp that when it’s our time. Drew says he’s not in a place to hear all this, and Shiloh says, sorry. He knows it’s too soon. Drew needs to process his own grief. His door is always open, like it was open to Oscar. Drew says he has phone calls to make. Shiloh can see himself out. Shiloh says, one more thing. He was cleaning out Oscar’s room, and came across this. He holds out a copy of his book. He thought Drew might want to have it.

Julian and Kim sit in the hallway. He says he’s sorry for barging in on her like this, but he couldn’t stand the thought of her going through it alone. He wanted to be there for her, but if she wants him to go, he will. Let him know what she needs. He starts to get up, but she stops him, and says, please stay. She puts her head on his shoulder.

Valerie goes into Kelly’s, but there’s no sign of Alexis/Diane. She goes to the counter, and asks if a woman in a green plaid shirt came in to use the ladies room. Diane walks up, sans wig, and says she did. She needed to freshen her hair. She has a message from her client. They know this so-called investigation isn’t sanctioned by the PCPD. So her watching and following Alexis constitutes harassment. Cease and desist, or she’ll go to Valerie’s superior, and sue the detective badge out of her eager hands. She also suggests the caramel salted donut.

Sam tells Jason that she can’t do that. She doesn’t know anything incriminating about him. She was never involved in anything illegal. She’s not handing anything over to Shiloh. Jason says he’ll have Spinelli set it up. A fake hit on a guy who never existed. She can tell Shiloh that she was an eyewitness, and he’ll find back-up online. Sam asks what if he runs to Margaux? She’s a big believer now. Jason says She’ll be embarrassed when she finds out it never happened. Sam says what if Shiloh thinks she’s a liar? and Jason says, he will. Eventually. If Shiloh tries to turn him in right away, he won’t have leverage over Sam. Sam likes it. She tells Jason, call Spinelli, and set it up.

Shiloh tells Drew, Oscar marked the passages that spoke to him. He thought Drew might like to read it, and get to know his son more. Shiloh says, he and Drew were close once. He knows not close now, but hopes Drew can lean on him like he leaned on Drew. He tells Drew, take care, and leaves. Drew opens the book, and sees a photo of himself, Kim, and Oscar, when Oscar got the Ashbury award.

Julian asks if Kim is ready. She says she’ll never be ready to walk into an empty apartment, knowing she’ll never see her son sitting on the couch, reading a book, or listening to music. How is she going to be ready to live in the stillness and quiet of a home once filled with the beautiful sounds of Oscar? How will she be ready to go into Oscar’s room, and go through his stuff? She’s not ready, and doesn’t know if she ever will be, but she has to start somewhere. She’ll take it one step at a time. Julian unlocks the door, and says they’ll do it together. He opens the door, and takes her hand. She says, okay.

Sam calls Shiloh, and says she just wants to let him know she recorded her Pledge. Just tell her where to meet him, and she’s there.

Kristina says she knows they’re coming from a place of love. She can’t promise to leave DOD. It has to be a choice she makes – if she makes it – for herself; not because she feels guilty for causing them pain. If she chooses to stay, she hopes they accept it. She hopes they’ll be the understanding parents they are now, and can respect her decision.

Michael walks in. Kristina says she thought he was so mad at her, he was refusing to speak to her. He says, what Shiloh did made him mad. That’s why he brought someone to talk to her. Willow steps forward, and Kristina asks why she’s there. Willow says she knows things Kristina might not be aware of. She knows how DOD preaches honesty above all else, but she’s going to tell Kristina the truth about Shiloh, and what he does to young women like them.

On Monday, Finn has Jordan’s test results, Robert suggests Laura go to the Nurses’ Ball with him, and Willow tells Kristina that she escaped and hopes Kristina can too.

I missed the first couple of minutes. Mea culpa and all that.

Sonny tells Michael that they all could have done better, but Neil said it’s a process. They have to keep trying until they reach Kristina.

Kim asks Oscar to come inside from the terrace. Oscar says they were just talking about how nice it was being outside, but Drew agrees it’s getting chilly. Oscar asks to see the picture Monica took of them. Kim shows him, and says his grandmother took a lot of great pictures today. Oscar says, there’s one person missing. Jason comes out on the terrace, and Oscar says he’s glad Jason made it.

Outside Kelly’s, on the phone with Robin, Anna says that she and Robin’s dad were reminiscing about working in Italy. She has a gift she’d like to give Robin; a bracelet they bought in Italy. It’s not valuable, but it’s kind of priceless. It reminds them of how lucky they are that she’s their daughter, and Anna wants her to have it. She says Finn is there, and he’s fine.

At the MetroCourt, Lulu tells Peter that her mom caught her up on a few developments. She knew there was a chance that Ryan could be alive, but finding his severed hand was news. Peter asks if that’s why she came back, to chase the Ryan Chamberlain story. She says Ryan came thisclose to taking her life. Now she knows exactly what she needs. He’s afraid to ask, and she says, a one on one with the object of Ryan’s obsession – Ava Jerome.

At the Crimson office, Nina tells Sasha to go home and get back in bed. Sasha says she’ll be fine. Maxie needs an objective opinion about what dress to wear. Sasha sneezes, and Maxie says, for the sake of her date, maybe Sasha should keep a safe distance. Nina says the worst that will happen is, she’ll have to cancel, and wait seven days. Sasha asks if Nina is still mad at Peter. Nina says he ran a DNA test behind her back. Some things aren’t forgivable. Sasha says Nina says it was her privacy that was invaded, and she forgave Peter. Why can’t Nina? She also forgave Maxie. Nina says, Maxie is family, and Maxie says, so is Peter. Nina says, for all his good intentions, all she can see is that he tried to take her daughter from her. Maxie says Nina has already forgiven her; she might as well forgive Peter. Sasha says, Maxie is right. No one is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes. Let it go.

Michael tells Sonny and Carly that he’d promised he wouldn’t judge Kristina or the situation. Carly says his sister joined a cult. How open-minded are they supposed to be? They’re not saying she’s stupid. She wanted to find new experiences that make her happy, and that’s a good thing. Shiloh took advantage of her. Michael asks what she’s saying, and she tells him not to judge himself. They need to fall back and regroup. Michael gets that, but he lost patience, and stormed out. Sonny says, it was emotional for everyone. Neil will tell them when they can reach out again. Michael starts coughing, and says, maybe they can get together and talk about what they’re going to do for the next session, so they’re not blindsided.

Oscar tells Josslyn and Cameron about changing his name. Cameron says, technically, he just added a hyphen. Is he hyphenating? Oscar tells Cameron not to jump on his moment, and says, Oscar Nero Quartermaine at their service. He says he wouldn’t have changed his name without checking with his mom first, and she’s awesome for saying yes.

Julian arrives at the Quartermaine’s, and tells Olivia that Oscar’s mom said it was okay for him to come. Olivia says she’s trying to be supportive without getting in the way. From now to the end, it’s all about Oscar. He says, Kim probably already told her, but her help is appreciated. Olivia says Kim did tell her, but it’s still nice to hear. He wishes he could do more. Olivia can’t believe she’s saying this, but Julian might be just what she needs right now.

Kim asks Drew to pull rank, and tell Oscar that he needs to rest. Drew tells Oscar it’s nap time, but Oscar asks for a minute to speak to Jason alone.

Anna asks what the chances were of Robin calling. She’s glad she didn’t FaceTime, since she’d been so upset. Robert says she had a nasty scare. It was of her own creation, but she’s still entitled to feel relieved. She says she is. Finn asks how Robin is, and Anna says, she called up to see how her mom was doing. Her mom. Robert says, it’s got a nice ring to it. Anna says Alex’s mind games can’t take away Robin being her daughter. Robert says she’s his daughter too. Anna says, their daughter, and she wouldn’t change a thing. Robert asks if Finn would.

Lulu tells Peter that Ryan became obsessed with Ava. He murdered her daughter, and posed as Doc. She consented to have sex with Doc, not Ryan. Peter asks if she thinks Ava wants her story told. Lulu says she’ll be respectful and careful; she promises. Peter asks if she’s sure she’s okay. It’s not the only major event she’s carrying. Lulu says, Dante? That’s different. He didn’t abandon his family. As much as she loves and misses him, she knows he’s where he needs to be. Peter asks if she’s saying that Dante left because he loves her. She says, he did. It hurts like hell, but it’s the price you pay for loving someone. Peter says she makes it sound like it’s worth it, and she says, love always is.

Maxie goes to the Crimson closet, and looks at dresses. Nina tells her, go with the black, but Maxie is afraid it says Protestant in mourning, and she’s neither. Nina knows she loves and misses Nathan, but he’d want her to move on and be happy. Maxie says, just not this soon with this guy. Nina says, while she has her reservations, that’s her problem. It’s just that it’s happening so quickly. Maxie says, it’s one date. Nina says they both know that’s not true. If it goes the way Maxie wants it, Peter will become more than James’s uncle. He’ll be permanent and close. Maxie says, no matter what happens, Nina will always be a part of the family. Nathan… Nina says, would tell her to back off. She can hear his voice in her head telling her to stop. She tells Sasha that she would have loved him, but Sasha is passed out at her computer. Nina shakes her, and Sasha says, she’s okay. Nina says, she’s not. She’s burning up.

Carly tells Michael that he’s burning up. Go home, and get in bed. He says before she airlifts him to GH, he’ll nip it in the bud. He needs to be sharp when they see Kristina. He also doesn’t want to get anyone else sick, especially Carly and the baby, so he’s going to take off. Sonny says he’ll let Michael know when Neil calls. Michael leaves, and Carly says, nothing from Josslyn. Sonny says, maybe that’s good news, and Oscar is holding his own. Carly says, it’s not day to day; it’s hour to hour. She knows what’s coming for Josslyn, but can’t stop it. Sonny says, what she’s going through is devastating. Nothing can prepare her for what’s going to happen. Carly has to let her go through it, and be there when it does. Carly says she needs to let Josslyn feel what she’s going to, but wants to show her there are good things in the world to look for too, like the new baby. Avery appears, and says, what baby?

Oscar doesn’t mean to pressure Jason, but wants to make sure he didn’t change his mind about being executor. Jason says, whatever Oscar needs, he can count on him. Oscar thanks him, and Jason asks if he needs a hand getting back inside. Oscar says there’s one more thing Jason can help him with.

Finn tells Robert, any changes in the dynamic between him and Anna are their business. Anna says she’s happy. She can’t imagine things getting any better. Robert tells Finn, there’s no point in gilding the lily, old man. Finn says he’s glad they’re all on the same page, but he needs to get to work. We see Robert’s hands under the table, holding Finn’s engagement ring (I apparently missed how he ended up with it), and Finn makes a gesture to Robert behind Anna’s back. When he’s gone, Anna asks Robert if he’s happy now. Robert says he thought Finn would never leave, and Anna asks why he’s still giving Finn a hard time. What’s wrong with him?

Lulu tells Peter that she didn’t come home because Rocco was bored, or because she was done decompressing. She needed to be with the people who are there for her; her mom, Maxie, and Charlotte. Just being around them makes her feel better, and she needs to be there for them. That’s what love is. He says he wouldn’t know. The only emotions he had for his father were fear and hatred, and when his father wasn’t around, relief. He didn’t know his mom existed until he came to Port Charles, and their relationship is tenuous at best. She says there’s never been anyone else he loved? Be completely honest. He says he doesn’t know if he can love someone else.

Sasha tells Nina, it’s just a cold or a 24-hour bug. She’ll be fine by this time tomorrow. Nina says, by this time tomorrow, she’ll be on antibiotics. She asks if Nina has had a flu shot. Maxie says she needs to handle it before she spreads it around. Nina says, no more arguing. Sasha is coming with her.

Sonny says Avery was eavesdropping? He mom is great at it. Carly says Avery asked a question, and deserves an answer. Sonny was going to tell her when they time was right, but he guesses the time is right now. He says Avery has heard him and Carly talking about having a baby. How would she feel about a baby brother or sister? Avery looks around, and asks where they are, but Sonny says, a baby takes time. Carly says they don’t know if it’s a boy or girl, but the baby will need love, and it helps to have a big sister. Sonny tells Avery that’s what she’s going to be. She’s going to be a big sister. Does it make her happy?

Jason and Oscar go back inside. Jason tells Oscar he can’t do it without Kim’s permission. Oscar asks Kim if Jason can give him a ride on his motorcycle. Kim asks if they’re insane, and Julian says he’s not sure that’s a good idea. Kim says, Oscar could have a seizure and pass out. Olivia adds, there could be an accident. No matter how careful Jason is, they happen. Oscar asks Drew what he thinks. Drew thinks it’s a good idea, and Kim says he can’t be serious. Drew says it doesn’t have be far. Jason can stay on the property. Olivia says. it’s insane in his condition. Josslyn says, it’s what Oscar wants, and Cameron says, there’s so much he can’t do that’s on his bucket list. Why not do this? Kim says it’s nice they want to risk her son’s life for a thrill ride, but they’re not his mother. Every moment is precious. Oscar says, please? He’ll never get to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. Jason says if something goes wrong, he can stop safely until help comes. Josslyn says Kim can trust Jason not to let anything happen to Oscar. Oscar says, just one time, and Kim says he will be wearing a helmet.

Robert tells Anna that he just wants her to be happy. She says, today is a banner day then. She is really happy. He says, tastes change, and she asks why he’s saying that. Because she chose a fundamentally good man, who’s dedicated his life to helping people? He says, as opposed to one who runs around shooting people? She says she cherishes the time she and Robert had together, and the day they created their daughter. Robert says, Robin. She’s their daughter, and always will be. She tells him, stop messing with Finn; give him a break. He tells her, so be happy. This guy better be worth it. Anna says, he is. She leaves, and Robert takes the ring out of his picket and looks at it.

Nina brings Sasha into the hospital. She tells Finn, Sasha has a fever, and is going in and out of consciousness. Sasha says it’s just a cold, or the early stages of the flu. Nina informs her that, during the first World War, more people died from the flu than bullets and bombs. Finn has a nurse take Sasha to an examining room. Nina says she might be overreacting, but she didn’t raise Sasha, and has no knowledge of her medical history. Finn says, Sasha is an adult; they can just ask her. He’s going to confer with the nurse, and be in to check on Sasha. He leaves, and Michael gets off the elevator.

Sasha waits in the examining room. Michael walks in, and sneezes. Sasha says she told him that she’s not good for him.

Lulu tells Peter that she knows for a fact he knows how love. She’s seen the way he is with Maxie. He delivered Maxie’s baby on the side of the road, and slept outside her apartment to keep her safe. She sees how he is with her. He’s nurturing and protective. He’s got the love thing down. He just didn’t know what it was. Maxie comes in. She’s surprised to see Lulu, and they hug.

Julian asks Olivia if it would be okay for him to see Leo, and she suggests they go together. Julian asks, what if he’s sleeping? and she says, they’ll wake him up. They might not get a laugh, but they’ll definitely get sounds.

On the terrace, Drew tells Kim that he knows where Oscar gets his bravery. She says she’s not brave. She just didn’t have the strength to say no to the both of them. She ask why Drew said yes. Drew says he wants Oscar to make the most of the life he has left, even if it means taking a risk or two. We hear the Jason’s motorcycle go past.

Maxie says she has so much to tell Lulu. Sasha really is Nina’s daughter. Lulu says she thought that’s why Sasha came to town. Maxie says, long story. It goes haywire, then comes back. Lulu says, right now, she has an interview to prepare for. She looks at Peter, and before he can say anything, says she’ll take that as a yes. She jets, and Maxie asks what they talked about.

Sasha tells Michael to keep his distance; she’s contagious. He says, too late for that. She’s sorry she gave him whatever, but he says maybe he gave it to her. She says, just so he knows, it was totally worth it. Nina comes in, and says it’s nice of Michael to check on Sasha. She asks if he’s there for a Board meeting, and he says he’s there to get a prescription. It turns out he and Sasha have something in common. Finn asks Sasha when she noticed her temperature rising, and she says, this morning at the gym. Ha-ha.

Carly asks Sonny how Avery is taking it, and he says she couldn’t wait to tell Laura. She’s asking about names, and Carly suggest they find out if it’s a boy or girl first. She asks what he’s thinking about. Whatever he’s got going on, tell her, so she doesn’t make up something in her head. He says, it’s all good. Her checkup was good. Everybody is happy. She doesn’t know why he can’t relax and enjoy it. He says for the same reason she can’t.

Back at the Quartermaine’s, Oscar says it was awesome. Jason says Oscar kept trying to get him to go on the highway, and Kim thanks him for not listening. Josslyn says she knew he’d be okay. Oscar tells Cameron that he should get a bike like that. Kim says Oscar should rest now, but he has one more favor to ask. It would mean a lot if his dad and Jason could figure out how to be brothers.

Maxie says she didn’t mean to put Peter on the spot. He says Lulu kind of left him in the lurch, and he has a ton of work. She says she understands. The cover proof is a total disaster. Maybe they should reschedule. He says she already got a sitter, but she tells him it’s fine. They’ve waited this long; they can wait until they don’t have to squeeze it in. She tells him to go, and he flies.

Anna sees Finn at the hospital, and he asks if everything is all right. She says, actually, she and Robert had a trip down Memory Lane. He says, they’re done already? It’s a lot of history. He would expect it to be a longer walk. She says it reminded her of how happy she is. He asks, how happy is that? and she says, pretty happy. She doesn’t want to keep looking in the past. They kiss, and she says she’ll see him tonight. When she’s gone, he sends a text.

Robert’s phone dings. He reads, you have something of mine. Robert looks at the ring again, and smiles.

Carly tells Sonny, no offense, but she feels like she’s handling the idea of a new baby a little better than him. He says, more than little. She says she’s still scared everything could go wrong, but thinks the odds are in their favor, and they’ll have a healthy baby. Sonny says, what if they don’t? If they get more, they’ll love more, and the more they have to lose. Carly says she’s learning something from Josslyn. She’s staying in the present, and that’s where she’s focusing. She only has Oscar today. She’s trying to do the same thing with the baby. It’s all good today. The baby is healthy today, and so is she. Sonny says, today be happy. It’s all they have. Tomorrow will take care of itself.

Nina runs into Michael, and says, he’s still there? He says he figured he’d check in on Sasha, and asks if she’s seeing visitors. Nina says she was given something for her fever, and will probably be drowsy, and shoves him into the room. Sasha says, Nina? Michael asks if she wants him to get Nina, an she says, Nina. She wishes Nina was her real mother.

Jason says he never thought he and Drew would find common ground, but now.. Drew says, Oscar? and Jason says, yeah. Drew thinks him for giving Oscar a ride, and Jason thanks Drew for trusting him with his son.

Kim asks Julian how Leo is. Julian says, good. She tells him that he doesn’t have to hold back. He’s allowed to have a healthy son, and be happy about it. She thanks him for coming. He says she’s welcome, but he’s not sure what good he’s doing. She says he doesn’t have to do anything. He’s there, and that’s what matters. They hug.

Oscar tells Josslyn that he needs to talk to Cameron a moment. Josslyn says, guy stuff? and Cameron tells Oscar, don’t be embarrassed. It’s brave of Oscar to come to him for manly advice. Josslyn leaves, and Oscar tells Cameron to get out his phone. He needs to make a video. Cameron hesitates, and Oscar says, trust him. Cameron starts filming. Oscar says, hey, Joss. If you’re seeing this, it means I’m gone.

On Monday, Franco has an idea for the Nurses’ Ball, Doc says they’ll give Ryan the memorial he deserves, and Neil asks what if Sonny is wrong?

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Nina meets Valentin at the MetroCourt, and tells him that she arranged a playdate between Aiden and Charlotte. Charlotte was amenable, and she’s glad Miss Tait didn’t diminish that part of her. She can’t help thinking about how Maxie and Peter believed Obrecht was blackmailing him. She asks what that’s about.

Maxie and Peter find Obrecht at Charlie’s. Maxie asks why she vanished before the results of the DNA test came in. Wasn’t she curious? Obrecht says she couldn’t bear to witness her niece’s broken heart when she found out Sasha wasn’t her daughter.

Sasha punches the heavy bag at the gym. Michael comes in and asks who’s face she’s imagining. She says, herself.

Laura looks at an article about Ryan’s hand being found. Elizabeth joins her, and Laura asks how Aiden is. Elizabeth gets a text, and says, Nina wants to arrange a playdate for Aiden and Charlotte.

Jordan sees Franco at the hospital. He asks how she is, and she says she’s getting used to her new routine of early morning dialysis. She asks about him, and he says he’s fully recovered. He’s hoping the discovery of Ryan’s severed hand means he’s no longer on the earth. She says the authorities are convinced of it, but it never hurts to be extra cautious. Franco says the upside is, now they can tell the difference between Ryan and Doc. Good point! Doc comes down the hallway, startling them.

Ava walks into her apartment, and sets the alarm. She hears someone in the hallway, and takes out her gun. She says she knows Ryan is out there, and tells him to show himself. It’s Curtis, who says, relax. She asks how long he’s been following her, and he says, not long. She tells him come in and explain himself. She asks, what’s going on? and he says he’s the protection her brother hired. Julian is worried about her. She asks if he’s afraid she’ll hurt herself or hurt Ryan.

Laura wasn’t aware that Charlotte and Aiden were friends, and Elizabeth says Aiden never said anything. Laura hopes it’s progress, and Charlotte is trying to get along with him. Elizabeth has the sneaking suspicion Franco had something to do with it. Laura says he’s invested in the boys. Elizabeth understands he has good intentions, but wishes he’d talk to her first. Is it too much to ask for full disclosure? Laura says, apparently so.

Doc tells Franco and Jordan that he has both hands. Jordan is glad Doc was released, but he says, Nora gets the credit. He was just clearing out his office. Franco asks if he’s going to practice elsewhere. Doc doesn’t know. He still has his license, and is waiting to see if he gets reinstated, but if there are patients that want to see him, he’ll rent a space. He continues on, and Jordan says she hopes Franco isn’t planning on leaving town. He asks how he ended up under investigation.

Obrecht tells Maxie not to worry. Nina will forgive her for running around with Peter, and planning to take away her daughter. Maxie says she’s already been forgiven, and Obrecht asks if Nina has finally seen Valentin for the liar he is. Peter says Nina and Valentin are more in love than ever. Obrecht says even after they exposed him? Maxie says, there was nothing to expose. The test proved that Sasha really is Nina’s biological daughter.

Michael has his turn on the heavy bag, and says Sasha can have it back, but she says she already had a great workout. She asks whose face is on it for him, and he says a guy who’s been messing with his sister. Sasha thinks that’s sweet, and he holds the bag for her while she gets in a few more punches.

Valentin tells Nina that Maxie and Peter made an assumption based on erroneous speculation. They couldn’t have known what happened with her and Cassandra. Nina says Valentin wanted to call the police, but she said no because of her record. They should have called. Now Obrecht is holding over her like a sword. Valentin says Obrecht isn’t turning her in. She’s just using it to get what she wanted from him. She’s sick and twisted, and not asking him for a favor if she can blackmail him. He says they have everything they can want; Charlotte, Sasha, and a bright future. He suggests they not look back in the shadows, but toward their wedding with their daughters. Nina says he found the child she thought she’d lost, who’s now in her life, and he has Charlotte. They have everything they want. It’s a dream come true, but dreams aren’t made to last. How can she erase the past when she thinks she’s only seconds away from the next heartache? Valentin says they have a bond that’s unique. The naysayers and critics will never get it. He takes her hands in his, and says, what they have is stronger than anyone knows.

Obrecht says, Sasha is actually Nina’s daughter and her niece? It’s truly miraculous. Maxie is glad for Nina’s sake, but since it’s not about Sasha, what secret is Obrecht holding over Valentin’s head? Obrecht doesn’t have the slightest idea what they’re talking about, but since they’re pestering her, she’s moving to another location. They’re interrupting her flow, but she’s grateful for the uplifting news. Outside, she flashes back to seeing Valentin at Madeline’s casket.

Laura tells Elizabeth, if only Doc had said something, she would have known they’d switched places, and could have avoided the devastating loss. Elizabeth says, it wasn’t malicious. Doc made a terrible mistake, but others have been forgiven for much worse. Laura says she was relieved when Doc’s case was dropped, and Elizabeth says, so was she. It would have been terrible if Doc went to prison for his brother’s crimes. Laura thought so too, but she doesn’t know how go forward. Their marriage is in limbo. Alexis drew up divorce papers but she couldn’t bring herself to sign them. It’s not just about her though. Lulu had a massive panic attack when she saw Doc with Laura at home. It’s part of why she suggested Lulu go away. Elizabeth says, Lulu is strong; she’ll get through it. Laura says, it’s a good place to heal. She’s never been more confused. Despite his mistakes, she still loves Doc as much as she ever did.

Franco asks Jordan what he did now, but she says, he’s not a suspect; just the opposite. She’s asking because the PCPD wants to acknowledge his help with the investigation. Because of him, they uncovered the truth, and the full extent of Ryan’s crimes. She tells him to be around next month, and he tells her to let him know the date. She says he did a great service, but doesn’t think he was heroic. They both know she dragged him kicking and screaming, and blackmailed him. She says, he got the job done, and they’re grateful.

Franco sees Doc at the elevator, and says, when Doc lands somewhere, let him know. Doc asks if he wants and appointment, and Franco says Doc got him more than any other shrink. Elizabeth reminded him of that. Doc says he left Franco open to Ryan’s lies and manipulation. No other shrink failed him like that. Franco says Doc helped him. He listened, offered insight, and never judged. He’s trying to follow Doc’s example. Doc says he’d welcome the opportunity to work with Franco again. Franco says he’ll think about it.

Ava says, so her brother took it upon himself to hire a bodyguard, and Curtis says, you’re welcome. She says, thank you, but no thank you. Curtis says Julian knew she was on edge, and if Ryan is still alive, she’s his number one target. It’s for her peace of mind. She has no doubt he’s excellent, but she has no intention of being followed around. She has to live her life. He says, or what’s left of it. What’s she doing with a gun? She says, so she can protect herself. He says, it’s smart to take precautions, but reverting back to her bad ways and giving Ryan vigilante justice, not so much.

Nina is worried that Obrecht knows a secret that can ruin them, and will do it again, but Valentin says she knows where her bread is buttered. And she has priorities. She wants to see James, and has to be on good terms with Maxie to do that. She can’t do that, and be blackmailing him. Nina says, it makes sense, but Obrecht rarely makes sense. She’s smart and unpredictable, and wants to tear them apart for no reason. Obrecht walks in, and waves.

Sasha tells Michael, good workout. He helps get the tape off of her hands, and asks if she’s sore. She says, a little. He rubs her hand, and she says, how about him? She rubs his hand, and he says, a little. She gets up, and says the last time they saw each other, she couldn’t get away fast enough. He asks if it was something he said, and she says, yeah. He asks if he did something offensive, and she says, no. He opened up wide about his ex, and she hasn’t been up front. He’s looking for someone in life whose honest like him, not like her. Michael gets up, and walks away.

Maxie tells Peter that Obrecht seemed unexpectedly surprised and relieved to find out Sasha is Nina’s daughter. Peter agrees, and Maxie wonders what she’s holding over Valentin’s head. There’s definitely something suspicious about him too. Peter doesn’t think so. Some things should be kept hidden. Maxie asks if they shouldn’t find out what the truth is, so Valentin doesn’t hurt Nina again.

Elizabeth tells Laura that she wouldn’t be with Franco if it wasn’t for her. She would have lost out on a loyal man who adores her and the boys. She knows at its core, Franco’s heart is in the right place. What it comes to is, who is the man at his core? Laura says she’s right. The fundamental man is what matters most. Elizabeth has to go, but tells Laura that she saw Doc earlier at the hospital. He was cleaning out his office. She thinks moving is going to be tough. Laura thanks her, and makes a worried face. Since Griff is no longer around, Laura definitely makes the best one.

Ava tells Curtis to let Julian know she fired him. She has no need of his services. Curtis says, technically, she didn’t hire him, so she can’t fire him. She says she can make it impossible for him to do his job; call him out, blow his cover, tell the cops he’s stalking her. He doesn’t doubt she can drive him crazy, but he was there when she saw Kiki in a body bag. He’ll never forget it; it broke his heart. He’s sorry for her loss, and would like to help. She says he can help by getting the hell out of there. He goes to the door, turns to look at her, and leaves. Ava takes out her gun, and says, come on, Ryan. Come and get me.

Michael returns to Sasha, who says she thought she’d run him off this time. He says he went to the ice machine, and puts some on her hand. He says she’s not being clear, and she says he values honesty, and there have been times in her life when she’s been less than. Michael tells her not to beat herself up. He just offered to buy her a drink, not get married. She says she wanted to close any doors before they opened to avoid any… whatever. He say hypothetically speaking, if she doesn’t regret the untruth she told, is it possible she might like him, or is that what she’s lying about? Sasha says she’s not lying about liking him. She’d never lie about that.

Maxie says Valentin lobbied for Peter to retract his statement. Why do it without leverage? Peter says he knows Valentin would want to protect Nina. Maxie says, that’s how the DNA test started, and Peter says, and now look how it turned out. They’re just starting to rebuild their relationship. Maxie says, if Sasha hadn’t intervened, she’d still be tiptoeing around Nina. Peter thinks she should stop trying find something. He wouldn’t mind not spending their downtime waiting for the other shoe to drop. Maxie is afraid it will drop on Nina first, but Peter says, she’s a big girl. She knows who she’s remarrying. Let her be happy. Maxie wonders how he can say that, when Valentin caused him so much pain?

Valentin says Nina should suck it up for James’s sake, but she says she’s not there yet. Obrecht says she saw Maxie and Peter. They told her the good news. She’s relieved and happy. Nina says, is she? Does Obrecht really care about her? She walks off, and Obrecht asks if Valentin would care to explain the hostility. She’s sure it’s his doing. He says she’s rightly assuming that, since she was blackmailing him. She says how would she do that without leverage? Sasha passed another DNA test that proved she’s Nina’s daughter. How did he arrange that?

Curtis meets Jordan in that new cellar-like café. Curtis says Ava is on to something. When she said she doesn’t believe Ryan is alive, she doesn’t just believe it, she’s hoping he is. Jordan asks, why? He says a serial killer got her to fall in love with him, and murdered her daughter. What’s she going to do? Wait for him to be brought to justice, or seek it for herself? The only problem is, if Ryan is still alive, how did he survive without a hand? There was mad blood loss, the risk of infection, and he had to be weakened. Jordan says, he had help, but if he did, they’re probably dead already.

Franco arrives at Ava’s apartment, and asks why she needs to see him. She says she needs a boyfriend, and he’s the perfect man. He says they did that. It didn’t work out then, and it won’t now. Besides, he’s married. She says he’ll just be posing. Putting on a show to lure Ryan out. Franco says, the last time, he got stabbed for his trouble. She says it just needs to be convincing enough to make Ryan jealous. Lure him out of hiding, and into a trap. He says a presumably dead serial killer, and she says they can make him pay. Finally and forever. They can do this for Kiki.

Doc thanks Elizabeth for whatever she said to Franco on his behalf. She says his mistake doesn’t negate how he helped Franco. He made Franco whole, and she’ll always be grateful. She hopes things work out for him. He goes to the elevator, and Laura comes out. She heard it was moving day. He says he’s clearing out his office to make room for his replacement. She says no one can replace him. He says, apparently Ryan did. He can’t forget, the hospital sure can’t, and he’s certain she can’t either. She says, no, but she can put it in perspective.

Peter doesn’t want Maxie to have a grudge on his behalf. He doesn’t want revenge on Valentin, and neither should she. Maxie says Anna put him up for adoption, doing what she thought was best, and finding a loving home. Valentin wrecked it by giving him to Faison. Peter says he also instantly regretted it. If not for Valentin, his father would have tangled up his destiny. His father was evil, and now he’s dead. He prefers to leave the past in the past, where it can’t hurt him.

Obrecht asks Valentin, if the DNA test was positive because Sasha is really Nina’s daughter, why was he standing over Madeline’s coffin? Perhaps Nina should hear about it. He says she’s brave, but slow to appreciate the gravity of her situation. As long as he and Nina happy, she’ll be happy. When they’re not happy, all bets are off the table.

Franco tells Ava, it’s a fantastically terrible idea. She says, fantastically brilliant. Ryan is already jealous of him. Imagine if he found out Franco had taken his place in her bed. He says, not happening. She says Ryan murdered her daughter, and she won’t rest until he’s dead. He tells her, find another patsy. God help them – and her.

Jordan tells Curtis that she checked all of the doctors in the area. Curtis says maybe it’s someone other than. She says they checked within a hundred mile radius. He says he got a text that pointed him in the right direction.

Laura says when she found Doc at Ferncliff, even when the situation was deeply terrifying, she was also overcome with a sense of joy, because realized the idea that he’d stopped loving her was a lie. He’s a sweet man, patient with her precious grandchildren, and took a bullet for her. That man is still around. The one who she loved, and still loves. He says he never stopped loving her. She says maybe this is the place they can start over. They kiss.

Maxie thinks it’s great that Peter has made peace with Valentin. She underestimated him. She didn’t know he was so evolved. He says don’t give him too much credit. Valentin is in a prison of his own making. If he’s lying, he’s living in fear that Obrecht will tell Nina. Maxie asks if he thinks it’s worth it to ask Obrecht. He says not on his account. He doesn’t care; that’s the point. There are consequences. He had rage for his father, and he paid the price. She and Nathan did. He can’t go back to that life. He knows true happiness; moving forward with her.

Obrecht says Peter and Maxie worked in Valentin’s favor. Why the powerplay? Unless he’s keeping a secret. He says she should be asking how she can keep Valentin happy. She has far more to lose than he does. He walks out.

Michael puts ice on Sasha’s hands, and asks how she’s feeling. She has a question first. She wants to apologize for running out at the bar; it was rude. He says, accepted. What’s the question? She asks if he thinks they can still be friends. She doesn’t need… whatever, but she could use a friend. Something uncomplicated, a have a hit at the heavy bag friend. He says he’s completely on board. An uncomplicated friendship.

Which they immediately decide to complicate by getting busy. Surprising everyone with an unexpected song part.

Elizabeth asks if Franco knows anything about a playdate between Charlotte and Aiden. Franco says he told her that he went to see a friend. He explained what was going on to Nina. Knowing that Charlotte was a pint-sized influencer, he said he thought if she became friends with Aiden, the other kids would fall in line. He knows he should have run it by her first. She says, maybe he should have, but she’s discovered she loves him for making their life better and, boneheaded husband that he is, she’s glad he’s all hers.

Ava calls Scotty, and asks him to come over. She’d love to see him.

Curtis tells Jordan, if Ryan is alive, he would need things like bandages and painkillers. He put his feelers about to pharmacies up north, and got a hit. Shortly after Ryan disappeared, a pharmacy near Niagara Falls was burglarized. They never caught the perp.

At the hospital, a messenger comes with a package for Doc. Doc asks who it’s from, and he says, it’s from someone named Chamberlain. I’m guessing it’s the hand.

On Monday, Scotty asks what plan Ava is cooking up; Shiloh tells Jason the more Sam trusts him, the closer they become; and Laura freaks out at what’s in the box. Yep. It’s the hand.

👀 Some Observations From This Week…

There has been some internet brouhaha about throwing a piece of cheese on a toddler’s head, to see the reaction when it sticks. Apparently, some people are concerned it will traumatize the kid for life. Highly doubtful. I’m sure there are also PETA members crying out because people are throwing cheese at dogs’ heads. Dogs definitely won’t be traumatized, and will eat the cheese. Maybe these toddlers can learn from the dogs. One time when I spit baby food at my father, he checked to make sure my mother wasn’t looking, and threw a spoonful back. Or so I heard. And none of my problems come from post-traumatic baby food throwing.

A large portion of Mexican Dynasties has focused on Adan’s musical career, and how wonderful his family thinks he is. There seems to be only one person (Doris… I think) being sensibly minded, and saying they’re not being objective. He’s just not that good. It’s not that he might not become that good, but he’s not going anywhere right now. He’s a mix of a second rate Back Street Boy, and a poor man’s Ricky Nelson. He needs both training and to come into this century.

I watched If There Be Thorns last weekend, and Heather Graham hasn’t changed since she was Roller Girl in Boogie Nights. Is it a great plastic surgeon? Amazing genes? A deal with a witch? What?

I saw two email subject lines this week that were of concern. One was – Gucci for Kids. I don’t even own anything from Gucci. Okay, maybe a pair of sunglasses, but I wasn’t seven when I got them. And the other – Prom Anxiety Text Line. I’m sorry, but can kids deal with nothing among their circle of IRL friends anymore? Have they become so socially inept, they need to consult a phone hotline because they got a zit on prom day or their hair is flat? What happened to Glamour magazine?

📺 The Haves and The Have Nots will return on Tuesday, May 7th. It doesn’t look too promising for Derrick with the lion tattoo. I almost threw up at that reveal.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Spencer says, at last the board meeting is over, and Laura says, her sentiments exactly. He says she should have let him stay home, but she was concerned about him booking more travel. He says, think of the frequent flyer miles. You’re welcome. He tells her that he’s trying to find Lucy or Epiphany. He has some ideas for the Nurses’ Ball.

Finn is trying to find the right words, and all he comes back to is how great he feels when he’s with her. That’s not entirely romantic, but he was sleepwalking, and she came along and blackmailed him into working with her. That’s still not romantic, but what he’s trying to say is, he doesn’t want to go back to sleep and wake up without her by his side. Will she marry him? We see he’s talking to a teaching skeleton in the hospital. He says, better or worse than the last one? Yeah that’s what he thought. The skeleton is no more help than Roxie. Laura watches through the window, and smiles.

Anna pours tea, and Robert asks why she’s being domestic. She says now that things have calmed down, they can relax and catch up. Robert doesn’t think they’re the catch up types. There’s nothing else to bring him there? She says, nothing.

Sasha joins Peter and Maxie at Charlie’s. She says they don’t have to take her to lunch, but Maxie says, after running the DNA test, lunch is the least they can do. Peter says they want a chance to make it right.

Curtis goes to Nina’s office, and she asks how Jordan is. Curtis says, Jordan is Jordan, but that brings him to why he’s there. Nina said she’d use her publishing platform to reach out for a kidney donor. How’s that going?

At the courthouse, Jordan tells Margaux, if they pressure the Canadian authorities they might still press on with the Ryan Chamberlain case. Margaux says there’s no reason to ask for favors or allocate resources. Chamberlain is dead. Case closed. Move on. She leaves, and Ava says, just like that, the search for the man who murdered her daughter is finished.

Nora comes in wearing sunglasses, and sipping coffee. Doc says, late night? and she says her son got engaged. His fiancé, Destiny, throws a great party. Doc asks if she has any idea why they were summoned. The jury selection isn’t for two weeks. She says she requested it. If all goes well, there won’t be a trial.

Laura knocks on Finn’s door, and he asks to what he owes the pleasure? She wants to consult his medical expertise, and asks if he thinks Ryan could have survived.

Spencer tells the vending machine that it’s a useless piece of junk. He should sue. Valentin says, allow him, and bangs on it. Spencer’s selection drops down. Valentin says Charlotte told him that Spencer was in Port Charles, and he was wondering if they’d run into each other. He asks why Spencer is at the hospital, and Spencer says he’s waiting for his grandmother. Valentin asks how she is, and Spencer says, fine; he’s taking care of her. Valentin is sure that brings her comfort. Spencer asks if Nina has finally realized that he and Sasha are up to something.

Sasha tells Maxie and Peter that Valentin really seems to love Nina. She doesn’t think he’d do anything to hurt her. Peter says she’s right, to a point. He would definitely manipulate circumstances to his advantage, and they thought he was doing it with her. Maxie says, in doubting him, they called Sasha’s integrity into question. She really means herself; she’s the one who wanted to snoop. She’s sorry. Sasha says Maxie barely knows her, and it’s clear how much Nina means to her. Maxie hopes Nina feels that way eventually. She’s barely speaking to Maxie.

Nina tells Curtis that they did appeal to their readers. They got a lot of responses, not the right candidates. Curtis suspected as much. Donating a kidney is a big ask. Nina asks again how Jordan is doing, and he says she’s doing her thing; working around appointments. Nina says patients can be on dialysis for a long time, but he says dialysis doesn’t lend itself to Jordan’s career. She’s going to need a kidney sooner than later. Nina says she’ll put something else out. She takes his hand, and says they don’t need a lot of responses. They just need the right match. He says, on another note, he’s taking on more work. It helps with the income and keeps him from hovering. He asks if Nina has any assignments, but she says, not lately. She’s been dealing with an investigation she doesn’t want. He asks, what? but she says, forget it. It’s not going to happen. Peter and Maxie spent the last month trying to prove Sasha isn’t her daughter.

Doc asks Nora if a trial Isn’t inevitable, but she says she found an interesting precedent. There’s no way they can find him guilty. He says, but he is. She says, guilt and responsibility are two different concepts. One gets you therapy time, and the other gets you prison time. Let her do her job. Margaux comes in, and asks, what’s going on? Nora is glad she could make it on short notice. Judge Chua comes in, and says she understands there’s a motion Nora would like to file. Nora requests that all charges be dropped against her client.

Jordan tells Ava, the US and Canadian authorities are satisfied that Ryan is dead. Ava says, they recovered his hand. So what? If it was up to Jordan, would she call it off? Does she believe Ryan is dead? Jordan says her opinion doesn’t carry any weight, but Ava says it does with her. She’d like to hear it before… Jordan says, before what? Ava says, it doesn’t matter. Jordan says she has no resources at her disposal, but Ava does, doesn’t she?

Laura tells Finn that the forensic report says Ryan was alive when his hand was severed, and it was a clean cut. They claim the separation was possibly done by a propeller blade. He says it’s not his area of expertise, but Laura says he’s an excellent doctor, and she respects him. What is the likelihood that Ryan survived?

Robert and Anna laugh over old times. He says he did impress himself. Anna says it’s like when Sean put them together. Robert was flying by the seat of his pants, and she didn’t know what she was doing. He says, but they got it right; better than right. She says it’s murky for her. She’d like to hear his memories, any detail. Robert says, now they get to the real reason for the trip down Memory Lane. What’s going on? She says she’s just feeling the subject. He says, back in the day, he couldn’t tell when she was lying. Now he can read her like a book. She’s terrified; why? She says, what if it wasn’t her on the first mission? What if it was Alex, and she’s really Robin’s mother?

Margaux says it’s a matter of record that Doc admitted Ryan to Ferncliff under an assumed name. They have the records, as well as his statement. He deliberately concealed Ryan from the authorities. This is no more than a stall tactic. Nora says, if the DA would let her continue, she’ll demonstrate her request is based on sound reason and precedent. Judge Chua finds sound reasoning impressive, as well as respect for the court’s valuable time. She tells Nora to briefly outline her request. Nora says her client is charged with aiding, abetting, and obstructing justice by harboring a fugitive. His actions are irrelevant. Ryan wasn’t a fugitive at that time. He was a dead man.

Jordan tells Ava that her son was Kiki’s friend. If the department gets the slightest hint that Ryan survived, she’ll get the case moving again. Ava says she can’t sit and wait while Ryan chooses his next victim. Jordan asks what she intends to do.

Finn tells Laura, if the hand was cleanly severed, it improves the chance of survival, but blood loss plus time equals death, unless there was medical attention. Laura says, what if he did get medical attention? Finn says if the proper tourniquet was applied, it would cut off the blood loss. It the wound was cauterized or sealed, it’s possible he survived. She thanks him. He’s sorry he didn’t have a more definitive answer. He’s curious. Wouldn’t she prefer him dead? She says, it would be a lot easier on a lot of people, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to be that simple. She hopes she’s not overstepping, but she noticed he’s about to ask someone a big important question. He says she saw? She says, just a little. He’s sorry she had to witness that, but now that she did, perhaps he could ask her opinion as a discerning woman. He shows her the ring, and asks what her take is on it. She says, wow; she’s going to love it. He’s got this. She tells him, good luck, but she’s sure he won’t need it. He thanks her.

Robert says Anna is Robin’s mother and he’s her father. He’s always known that. She says, what if he’s wrong? What if it’s not her memory? He said the memory had to be significant. Robert says she’s had a lot of significant memories, but she says, what if this the one? He says he was there. They were trapped on an island, roped into a wedding ceremony, and nine months later, Robin turned up. She’s Anna’s daughter. She says, prove it. He doesn’t respond, and she says, he can’t. No one can.

Valentin isn’t sure what Spencer is implying, but Sasha is a welcome addition to the family. Spencer says he and Sasha are in cahoots about something. Maybe he should tell Charlotte. Then she’ll have to admit her poppa is a liar and a thief. He says Charlotte was concerned when Spencer told her that he’d rigged the election. She didn’t know what to do, so she told him. He told her not to worry; the truth always comes out in the end. Spencer says he never admitted anything to Charlotte, but Valentin says one concerned call to the election board, and they’ll know a machine was tampered with that Spencer had access to. He asks if Spencer knows the penalty for election fraud. His being a minor will have no bearing on the punishment. He needs to think about that before he throws threats around.

Anna says she and Alex are Identical twins. There’s no DNA that can prove which one of them is Robin’s mother. Robert insists she is, and she says that’s what he wants to believe. He asks if she doesn’t think he’d know the difference between her and Alex. She says, now, yes, but they were strangers then. It was their first assignment. He had nothing to compare her behavior to. It could have been Alex all that time. He says if he wasn’t watching her unravel, he’d be insulted. She say she’s worked it out. Alex could have been impersonating her, and gotten pregnant. She had the baby in secret, and realized she couldn’t handle a child. Cabot proposed the mind study, and Alex had those memories transferred to Anna, who believed she had Robin, and raised her as her daughter. But what if she’s not?

Nina tells Curtis the third test proved again that Sasha was her daughter. He wonders what made Maxie and Peter think otherwise. She says they don’t trust Valentin. She sees that Maxie hasn’t given her a layout, and says Maxie should be doing her job instead of playing detective. It’s convoluted. They think there’s some deal between Valentin and Obrecht.

Nina calls Maxie, and asks where the layout for the May issue is. Maxie thought she had a few more days, and says, it’s a little rough. Nina says, no excuses. Get it on her desk. Maxie says she needs to go. Nina moved up the deadline. She’s sorry to cut lunch short, and asks for a rain check.

Laura finds Spencer, and Valentin addresses her as Madam Mayor, saying he and Spencer were just talking about her. She says he’s not to approach Nikolas’s son. Is she making herself clear? He says, crystal. She says it’s still fortunate she ran into him. They need to create a visitation schedule for while Lulu is out of town. Valentin doesn’t think so.

Ava says she’s taken enough of Jordan’s time. Jordan says grief doesn’t allow her to break the law, and tells her not to jeopardize the integrity of the investigation. Ava says, there is no investigation. Ryan is dead. Case closed. She walks off, and Jordan makes a call to Julien. She says they need to have a conversation about his sister before she does something she’ll regret.

Margaux says Ryan clearly wasn’t dead when Doc was treating him. Nora says he was initially presumed dead for seven years, and then declared dead in absentia. Legally speaking, the state recognized him as deceased, and no longer a fugitive. Her client broke no laws. Margaux says in the case she’s referring to, the defendant was brought up on fraud charges for faking a death. Nora says that was a civil issue, not federal, and based on an insurance payout. Doc didn’t defraud anyone. She has another precedent from a case being tried now. Margaux says she’s doing this so Doc can evade prosecution. He worked to conceal Ryan from the authorities, and because of his actions, a violent psychotic was free to kill people. It was his moral obligation to let the authorities know. Nora says, moral perhaps, but the court is not in the business of legislating morality.

Ana says Robin has been the one constant in her life. The thought of her not being Robin’s mother, and not being Emma’s grandmother… Robert can’t imagine a greater loss. Greater than twenty years in Steinmaur or facing a firing squad. She’s punishing herself. Nothing else is going on. She says if he doesn’t want to help her, he can leave. He says, no. She started it, and they’re finishing. She never forgave herself for being a double-agent. The WSB closed the files, but didn’t punish her, so she’s deciding to punish herself. Don’t punish the rest of them. Don’t rewrite history and trash the greatest thing that’s ever happened to him.

Nina tells Maxie that she’ll look at it. Maxie doesn’t leave, and she asks if Maxie wants a cookie. She’s doing her job; that’s all. Maxie says she knows how much she screwed up. She was just trying to protect Nina. Nina says Maxie set out to prove her fiancé and daughter were conspiring to deceive her. If it was the truth, it would destroy her. She tells Maxie to go, but Sasha walks in, and tells her to wait. Nina owes it to herself to hear Maxie out.

Valentin tells Laura that she’s not Charlottes legal guardian, and she’s not on the custody agreement. Lulu is out of town, and made no provision for that. Her wishes are meaningless if there’s no court order. She made no arrangements, which gives him full custody. Laura says he’s taking advantage of that, but he says he wants things to be amicable. If Charlotte wants to see her, and it doesn’t conflict with any of their schedules, it’s fine. He asks if Spencer is staying with her. Considering his and Charlotte’s checkered history, it might get awkward. He tells her to think about it. She might find they agree on this matter.

Nora says Ryan was declared dead. It’s legally impossible to aid and abet a dead man. There was no crime, and the case can’t stand. Judge Chua is ready to rule. She says Doc sheltered his brother, known to be a violent psychotic, from the proper authorities. It was a severe lapse in judgement, and his actions contributed to three murders and a near fatal attack, carried out by his brother. Nora is correct though. There’s no clear legal precedent to continue. She’s ruling that the charges be dropped.

Robert is going to say it as many times as Anna needs to hear it. She’s Robin’s mother, and he’s Robin’s father. She says that doesn’t make it true. He says she’s going down a rabbit hole of her own making, created from three parts guilt and one part paranoia. Finn comes in, and asks, what’s going on? Anna says she told him. Robert says, he wasn’t there; he didn’t live it. She’s chasing shadows. Finn agrees, but thinks it has nothing to do with Alex or the memory transfer. It has to do with Anna’s past. Robert says, he wasn’t there. Stay out of it.

Nina appreciates Sasha’s input, but it doesn’t concern her. Sasha says, it does. When she and Nina first met, they didn’t hit it off. Sasha wouldn’t even let her in, but then they started to bond. She felt jealous of Nina’s relationship with Maxie at first. They were already family, and she was missing that. Family is family, no matter how they’re formed. Families are messy. People make mistakes, and cross boundaries. The trick is to remember that love forgives and keeps us together. She says us because Maxie is her family too, and Sasha forgives her. Maxie appreciates that, and starts to leave, Nina says, wait.

Peter sees Valentin outside Charlie’s. Valentin asks if he wants a hair sample. Peter says he owes Valentin an apology for doubting his intentions. Valentin says, he’s not a saint, but he’d never hurt Nina. Peter says, not intentionally, but actions have unintended consequences. Valentin asks if Peter was sincere in saying he’d be his best man, or if it was part of his strategy. Peter says, a little of both. He has a good idea of how far Valentin would go to make Nina happy, and this was definitely in his wheelhouse. It turns out Valentin was vindicated, and he’s glad. He wants to see them happy. Valentin’s phone rings, and he says he’s got business to attend to.

Margaux says she intends to appeal. The judge says that’s her prerogative, but her advice is for Margaux to consider the potential drain on her resources in prosecuting a defendant that poses no danger to society. Even if she secures a conviction, it won’t bring back the victims. She’ll just be pursuing a headline; a slippery slope she’s gone down before. The judge dismisses the court. On her way out, Margaux says, this isn’t over. Doc asks Nora, what just happened? and she says she saved his butt. He says what about the appeal? and she says he heard the judge. When Margaux realizes she’ll just further embarrass her office, she’ll drop it. He says, three people are dead, and all he gets is a stern talking to. She says she can’t help him wrestle with his conscience. Her job was to get him exonerated. If he wants to pay his debt to society, there are all manners of charities who would welcome an experienced psychologist. At least wife got her bail money back. He agrees, there’s that.

Anna can’t live with the uncertainty hanging over her head. She needs to know if Robin is her biological daughter. She can retrace her steps or find documents to uncover the truth; whatever it is. Robert says she can do it without him. He knows the truth, and he’s not standing there watching her torment herself. He tells Finn that he’s in for it.

Nora phones Bo. She says she’s done with the case, and will be home around eight. How about celebrating by ordering in burgers from Roadie’s? (Aw, nice nod to OLTL.) She starts to leave the courtroom, and sees Valentin. He says, fancy seeing her there.

Nina and Maxie hug. Maxie is sorry she went behind Nina’s back. Nina understands, but asks her to be up front in the future. Maxie says, deal. She says Sasha stuck her neck out for her, but she’s not sure why. Sasha says, sometimes, even with the best intentions, you dig a hole, and before you know it, you’re in too deep to climb out. If she was in Maxie’s position, she would want Nina’s forgiveness.

Spencer tells Laura that he and Charlotte have a mutual appreciation for her, but they differ on other subjects; like her loathsome poppa. Doc comes out, and Laura tells Spencer to go find Epiphany. Doc tells her that he’s there to file and appeal to the hospital board. The charges were dropped. She says, fantastic. He says it seems he can’t be guilty if said fugitive is already declared dead. She says, on the subject of Ryan, she heard his hand was recovered. She spoke to Finn, and he thinks it’s possible he could be alive. Doc wishes he could say for certain Ryan is gone, but he just can’t. She knows a couple of people who agree. He says, what about her? She tells him, the Canadian authorities seem convinced he’s dead, so she guesses they have to wait. In the meantime, good luck with his appeal. She can’t a part of it, since she can’t be objective, but if she did have a say, she’d vote for him to stay at GH. He thanks her, and says, it means a lot.

At Charlie’s, Ava orders a vodka martini, very dirty with three olives. She says, scratch that, and orders coffee to go. Someone watches her through the window. She says Julian has been telling her to cut back. In this case, he’s right. She needs her wits about her. Outside, someone ducks away as she comes out.

Next Spencer tells Nina that her knight in shining armor is blackmailing him, Valentin needs Nora’s services again, and Jason is working an angle to take Shiloh down.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Chase lifts weights at the gym. Finn sees him, and tries to leave, but Chase says, over here. Is he ready to get pumped? Finn says, not really, but thanks for asking. Chase says he doesn’t have to do it if he doesn’t want to, and Finn says he’s out of there. Chase says, next time he’s kidnapped he can use his biting sarcasm to save himself. Finn relents, and Chase hands him the weights. He nearly falls over.

At The Floating Rib, Maxie looks at Anna’s pictures of Emma and Noah, and says they have to plan a trip out west, or get them to Port Charles. A lot of people want see them. Anna says maybe that’s one of them, as Peter walks in.

Valentin and Nina are early for a meeting with Willow. She says, it’s not a problem. The principal is still in another meeting. Nina says that’s okay. They can wait.

Lulu tells Laura that she can’t concentrate on work, she’s barely sleeping, and it’s going to affect how she parents. It’s getting worse, and she doesn’t know what to do. Laura suggests leaving Port Charles. Lulu thinks relocating is a bit drastic, but Laura isn’t talking about moving, just giving herself a break; a chance to catch her breath. It’s hard to do there with reminders, and people asking questions about Dante.

Jordan tells Ava, Ryan has been found. Ava asks if he’d crossed the border, and Jordan says, the police don’t have custody of him. They only have his hand.

Maxie tells Anna she’s waiting for Lulu. She’s trying to provide support. Anna says, Dante made the right choice. If he’d stayed, it could have gone bad. Maxie thinks Lulu understands, but she’s devastated. Maxie doesn’t know what to do, and Anna says, just be there, like always. A lot of people care for Lulu, including her boss. Anna says what about her? What’s going on with Maxie and her son?

At the bar, Peter asks how Chet likes his job. He says, it’s great so far; he’s gotten more hours than he expected, and he works at the gym. Peter says, it must be nice to be busy. He spends so much time in front of the computer screen, he needs to interact more with people. He hasn’t made many friends since he moved there. Chet suggests they hang out sometime. His high school buddies have moved out or on. He says he’s friends with Maxie, ans wonders if Peter can tell him if he stands a chance with her.

Ava says, all they have is his hand? and Jordan says, that’s all they found. Ava asks, which one? Julian asks if it matters, and Ava says, Ryan is left-handed. They know how skilled he is with a knife. Julian says, what she’s suggesting is… Ava says, psychotic? If he wanted everyone to believe he was dead, he’d cut off his undominant hand, and leave the one he killed with. Jordan says, it’s insane, but she thinks Ava is right, and that’s exactly what happened. Why this would be surprising, since Ryan is psychotic, I don’t know.

On the phone at Charlie’s, Doc asks how he’s supposed to reset his account if it’s frozen? His brother set up the two person authorization. They hang up on him, and Lucy approaches his table. She tells him, take a deep breath, and think serenity. He says he’s having trouble regaining control of the accounts Ryan hijacked. He needs to get his life back. Lucy tells him, be patient; give it some time. Doc says an IT person is the least he deserves. Lucy says he deserves absolute compassion. He made a terrible mistake, but there’s no way he’s responsible for his brother’s crimes. Doc says, not many people would agree.

Lulu tells Laura that she doesn’t know what’s worse, questions or sympathy. Laura says, then take a trip. She can stay at Laura’s flat in Paris. Lulu says it’s tempting, but she’s just getting her momentum back at The Invader. Laura tells her to talk to Peter about taking a sabbatical. Lulu says she has the kids, and Laura says, take them with her. Lulu says she could see taking Rocco, but there’s no way Valentin will let Charlotte go.

Willow tells Valentin and Nina about the children planting seeds, and Valentin says, Charlotte had fun with that project. Willow says she’s responsible for their abundant cauliflower crop. She has a green thumb. Nina tells her, give it a rest. She can’t smooth things over with flattery. Principal Schultz introduces himself, and Valentin says it’s a sensitive matter, and they appreciate the expedience. The principal says they can get underway as soon as Willow’s union rep gets there. Nina says, she hired a lawyer? but he says, it’s a faculty member. She just wants to make sure she gets the rights under her contract. Valentin says, what about Charlotte’s rights? and Nina asks, what about parents’ rights? Willow says she’ll waive her rights if they accept her apology, and move on for Charlotte’s sake. Valentin says, for Charlotte’s sake, they’ll wait.

Chase tells Finn, hydrate. They have four more sets. Finn says, dear God, why? and Chase says, it’s the best way to stay healthy and release tension. Finn asks what Chase has to be tense about, and Chase says he’s not as tense now, since Willow is sticking around. Finn asks, what’s up with her ex? and Chase says, she’d rather face him down than run. He can’t say any more. Finn should be glad he gets along with Anna’s ex. Finn says Robert has a lot of opinions. Chase asks if Robert is still giving him a hard time about being a civilian, and not knowing what Anna needs. He’s jealous. Finn wants to show Chase something. He takes a box out of his bag, and reveals a ring; a square sapphire, surrounded by diamonds. He asks if Chase thinks it looks like Anna. If I was writing this, Chase would say, no. It looks like a ring. BA-DUM-CHH!

Chet tells Peter that he doesn’t mean to impose. Peter is just surprised he didn’t pick up on it. Chet says, neither did Maxie. Nathan was a great guy, but it’s been over a year since he died. Peter says, that’s not a lot of time for some people. Chet says, maybe nobody stands a chance with Maxie. He gets it.

Maxie tells Anna nothing is going on. Anna reminds her of Peter coming to the Christmas party, but Maxie says that wasn’t about her; it was about Anna. Anna says they take one step forward, and two back. She’d feel better if he had someone in his life. Maxie says he’s not into her not that way.

Valentin tells Principal Schultz that they believe Charlotte would be perfect for advanced placement. Nina says Willow denied their request, and the principal says they can have that discussion another time. They’re here to discuss their relationship with Willow. Nina says Willow is biased against Charlotte, and called her a brat. Willow tells Nina that she said Charlotte was in danger of becoming one, and Nina says, because of her parenting. Willow says, because she denied and excused the problem. Valentin and Lulu wanted to address it head on. Willow’s representative says Lulu should be there, and Valentin says she doesn’t share their concerns. Principal Schultz thinks perhaps they should call her, but Valentin says, expedience is of the utmost importance. Willow has something to say. She owes them an apology. When they had their last conversation, she was emotional. She’s not making excuses. She shouldn’t have been speaking the way she did. She’s sorry for her tone, anger, and choice of words. Valentin says she’s been given the benefit of all his doubts, but singled out Charlotte, and made her a scapegoat for another student’s behavior. She says that’s not how he looked at it before. He says he’s not talking about the bullying, but the allegations of cheating.

Jordan tells Ava and Julian that a couple came across the hand while taking a walk, and it was ID’d by fingerprints and DNA. Julian asks how long ago it was found, and Jordan says, a week. She’s still waiting for the formal report. Julian asks if it isn’t most likely that Ryan lost his hand going over the Falls, and is dead.

Lulu tells Laura that she couldn’t leave Charlotte for weeks or months. Laura says, she’s there; Charlotte could visit her. Lulu says she’d love to, but could never ask Laura to endure that much Valentin. Laura says she can handle him. This is what grandmothers do. Lulu says, pinch parenting when she’s off gallivanting? Laura says she’ll be decompressing, getting her head on straight, and giving her heart a chance to heal. Lulu asks, if she leaves, who is going to take care of Laura?

Lucy thinks Doc might get some strange reactions, or someone might try to capture him, and Doc says, it’s a concern. Lucy asks what if Monica put out a memo, but he says he has no problem at GH; he’s been locked out. She says, locked out of his GH email? He shakes his head, and she says, they fired him? He says the Board voted to suspend him. It’s not like they lacked cause. Lucy says she’ll call the Chief of Staff, but he tells her, don’t. It’s not like he didn’t see this coming. He has bigger concerns than saving his practice, like saving his marriage. Lucy asks, what’s the line on that? and he says, it’s hard to say. Laura paid his bail, but he’s not welcome back home. Lucy says she can give him a warm welcome.

Laura tells Lulu that she’ll be fine. It will be easier on her, knowing Lulu is away from this mess. Lulu says she’s run out of excuses, and Laura says, good answer. Lulu asks if taking off isn’t the opposite of moving forward, but Laura thinks strong people are wise enough to know when to ask for help. Lulu says she needs Laura’s help. Laura hugs her, and tells her, go and take care of herself. Take as long as she wants, and when she’s ready to come back, they’ll all be there with open arms.

Jordan say for the FBI and the Canadians, the case is closed. Julian says, but Jordan thinks he’s still alive? She says she can’t be sure, and Ava asks what they do now. Jordan say it’s not entirely up to her; it’s outside her jurisdiction. If the DA takes a cue from Canada or the FBI, she could shut Jordan down.

Anna asks Maxie if she’s sure Peter isn’t interested. Maxie says, for a while, she thought it might happen, but they were in the middle of a project. When it was over, he made it clear he wanted to go their separate ways. Anna asks if she made it clear how she felt, and Maxie says she did. Anna asks if she did it with actual words, and Maxie says, of course not. But she’s sure her signals came across. Anna is skeptical.

Peter tells Chet, any guy would be lucky to have Maxie. He can’t see why she’d turn him down.

Willow says Charlotte and the other student sat next to each other, and their answers were identical, even the errors. Valentin asks if she didn’t think the other student might have cheated, or maybe her test was structured poorly. He asks if anyone else missed questions, or did they all score perfectly. Willow says, of course not, and Nina tells Principal Schultz, now he sees what they’re up against. Valentin says Willow wouldn’t recommend Charlotte for the high achiever program, but Willow says that’s because she thought she was leaving. Now that she’s staying, she’ll happily recommend Charlotte. The principal says, it’s too late in the school year, and will have to wait until fall. Nina says that means Charlotte doesn’t get the education she deserves because of Willow’s bias. Willow asks if she’s suggesting she’s targeting Charlotte because she and Nina don’t like each other. Valentin says now that they’ve called Willow out, she’s going to make life more difficult for Charlotte. Willow says that’s exactly the opposite of her calling. Nina suggests she find another calling. She has no business teaching students. They want her fired. I’m a little disappointed in Valentin here.

Jordan leaves Ava’s place. Julian says Ava spent a bunch of money on a new security system, and now she doesn’t need it. Both the FBI and the Canadians think he’s dead. She says, and he couldn’t possibly go on with life using only one hand. Julian says, if he’s still alive, why would he come back? Ava says, if he was going somewhere else, he would have kept his hand. He says it’s like she wants him to be alive, and she says, of course she does. So she can kill him. Julian says maybe she wants him alive so she can blame him for Kiki’s death. As soon as he’s gone, she has no one to blame but herself.

Jordan is sorry to bother Laura, but Laura knows she wouldn’t if it wasn’t absolutely necessary. Jordan says, they recovered Ryan’s right hand, and are doing a complete forensic workup. The report might indicate it’s post mortem, but if it indicates otherwise… Laura says, he might still be alive.

Valentin says, there’s been no equitable solution. They insist on dismissal. The representative says, that’s not happening. Up until now, Willow has had an unblemished record. Principal Schultz says, it will go into her file, but incompatibility with one set parents is not grounds for dismissal. Nina says, ridiculous, and the principal says moving a student mid school year would be counter-productive. Charlotte is thriving, and he trusts Willow. Valentin says, if her bias continues, he’ll see all three of them in court.

Anna asks if Maxie would like it to be otherwise, and Maxie says, possibly. Anna can’t tell her what to do, but she should let her feelings be known. Tell Peter how she feels. Maxie’s phone rings, and she steps away to get the call. Anna waves at Peter, and he comes over. She says she has photos from Robin, and he says Robin sent them to him too. She didn’t know they were in touch, but Peter says, he wrote to her, and it took off from there. Anna says, baby steps. He’s not sure how Robin concluded he wasn’t radioactive, and Anna says, maybe good PR. He asks if she thinks Maxie put in a good word. She’s been a good friend. Anna asks if that’s all she is to him.

Chase says, Finn is getting married? and Finn tells him, slow down. He didn’t ask yet, but that’s the general idea. Chase congratulates him, and says, it’s so cool. He asks if Finn told their dad, but Finn says, no, just him. He wants to hear what Anna says first. Chase says, she’ll totally say yes. Finn asks if Chase thinks so, and Chase says he knows so. He also knows he’ll be the best best man ever. Finn asks if he isn’t getting ahead of himself. Chase wonders who else he’d ask; Roxie? Finn says she’s his first choice. but if she’s busy and says no, he can share the responsibility. Chase thanks Finn for telling him; it means a lot. Finn asks if he can go now, and Chase tells him, get out of here, and good luck. He hugs Finn, and Finn tells him not to get emotional.

Peter tells Anna that he doesn’t know what she’s talking about it. She says maybe she read it wrong, but doesn’t he have feelings for Maxie? He says she doesn’t feel the same way. She made it clear. Anna asks if she said those actual words, and he says she didn’t have to. She asks if he’s told her how he feels, and he says, not exactly. She asks, why not? and he says, what would be the point? She says just tell Maxie how he feels. He looks at Maxie standing at the bar.

Maxie hopes Chet isn’t working too hard, and has time for himself. He says he has time for her too, and she asks if he’s flirting. He says he’s rusty, but yeah. Does she want to go out some time?

Principal Schultz tells Willow that this is being added to her file. She says she can’t teach effectively if she has to kowtow to every parent, but he says donors like Valentin are the reason why they don’t have to buy pencils. She says he’s usually the peacemaker, but guesses he chose his side. The principal thinks it’s natural that he would support his fiancé, but Willow says she was hoping he’d side with his daughter. He says she might be exhibiting and unconscious bias, but Willow says he doesn’t actually believe that. He tells her, it happens to the best of them; be more careful. She says she’ll do better, but he says, if they chose to make more trouble, there won’t be a second chance.

At Charlie’s, Valentin tells Nina, now that Willow has been put on notice, she won’t step over the line. Lulu joins them, and says she’s going overseas tomorrow. She’s bringing Rocco. Valentin doesn’t think it’s a good idea to take Charlotte out of school, and Lulu agrees. Nina is sure she deserves a trip, and she means that in a good way. Lulu isn’t sure how long she’ll be gone, but it won’t be long enough for them to get used to it.

Ava asks if that’s really what Julian thinks. Her own brother thinks Kiki is dead because of her? He says, of course not (phrase of the day), but she does. She wanted to punish Kiki for being with Griff, and that’s what happened. Ava hopes he never knows the pain of burying his own child. Their last words were said in anger; it’s what Kiki took with her. Julian says Kiki knew her flaws, and loved her anyway. What happened wasn’t her fault. She says she doesn’t know that; she’ll never know that. She’ll never know why Ryan chose her, and she can’t ask him. He’ll just say whatever lie hurts the most. The only thing she can do for Kiki is see to it her killer pays with his own life, and it’s exactly what she intends to do.

Laura trusts the PCPD will continue the search, but Jordan says it depends on the DA. If Margaux decides the case is closed, she’ll have to reallocate her resources. Laura says she’ll talk to Margaux, but Jordan says Margaux knows Laura posted Doc’s bail. And it’s only a matter of time before the whole city knows.

Lucy tells Doc, it’s a condo right on the harbor. The owner relocated, but can’t afford to wait for the right buyer, so he’s okayed Doc moving in. Doc accepts, and thanks her for her generosity – and persistence. She says she’d never abandon him. He says he hasn’t exactly been a friend recently, and she says she hasn’t been much of a friend, and less of a wife. This led her to being extremely motivated to renovate herself. He’s looking at a retooled Lucy. He say he might need some reconstruction himself.

Laura tells Jordan that she’ll just tell the truth. He’s still her husband. She didn’t want him waiting behind bars. All Jordan is saying is that her interest might be best served focusing on a defense. Laura asks if she’s going after Doc. Jordan says, not her; Margaux.

Julian says Ava can’t sit in her apartment waiting with a loaded gun. She says if he finds it disconcerting, he’s free to go, but if he stays, keep out of her way. She has work to do. She makes a call.

Laura’s phone rings. She assumes Ava heard. Ava says, indeed she did, from the commissioner herself. Laura says the DA may want to call off the search if Ryan is declared dead. If they call off the case, Ava needs to keep an eye out for Ryan.

Lulu asks if Valentin has any questions, but he says other than her itinerary and contact information, he’s good. Nina tells her to take all the time she needs. Lulu says they’re going to miss her more than they think. To maintain stability, her mother will be filling in for her.

Willow sits at her desk, bummed. Chase pops in, saying he’s there to see how his pretend child is getting along with the real kids. This is pretty funny, but Willow doesn’t even crack a smile. He asks if she’s okay, and she says, it’s been a day. He asks if she wants to talk about it, but she’d rather think about anything else. They kiss, and he asks if that helped. She says, it’s a start, and he kisses her again.

Finn joins Anna. She says she’s watching these two, indicating Maxie and Peter. Finn asks if they’re a couple, and she says, they’re trying to figure it out. She thinks they might be about to witness something special. Finn says they might not be the only ones, and turns the ring box in his hand. Maxie and Peter say help, and she says she’s waiting for Lulu. He sees Chet was keeping her company, and she says Chet asked her out. Peter says he’s a cool guy, and she says she’s known him since high school. He’s sensitive – in a good way – sweet, charming, and hot. Peter says they’ll have a great time. She says they probably would have if she hadn’t turned him down. Peter asks why she did that, and she says she didn’t think it was fair to go out with Chet when she has feelings for someone else.

On Monday, Finn has something he wants to ask Anna; Peter says if Maxie is ready, he’s ready; Alexis tells Neil that her daughter is in a cult; and Jason tells Sonny, the longer they wait, the worse it gets.

My occasional guilty pleasure is following the Royal Family. The Queen is just adorable, and Camilla is like the wicked stepmother of the group. I’ve always loved Fergie and Randy Andy, and have continued to hold out hope that they get back together. Although it seems like they weren’t apart long. Still cohabiting, taking vacations together, and neither one has remarried after all this time? You do the math. They say, no; I say, yes.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

At the MetroCourt, Maxie tells Peter they have to go. He says he’s starving, but she says, the DNA results are in. It’s time to see if Sasha is who she and Valentin say she is.

Valentin comes to Nina’s office with flowers. She asks who the lucky woman is, and he says he’s the lucky man. They kiss, and he asks if she wants to join them for dinner. She asks who else is coming, and he says Obrecht. She says it’s a hard pass.

Carly sees Curtis at the hospital, and asks how Jordan is doing. He says, kicking ass and taking names. She asks if Jordan is on the transplant list, and he says, not yet. Carly says, that’s good; it means her condition isn’t as acute. Walking through the hallway to meet Curtis, Jordan has to stop for a moment and rest. She asks Curtis how it went, and he says he went to the source, and got what he was looking for. Carly asks if there’s any information on Ryan, and Jordan says the search has been called off. She tells Carly to take precautions, and Carly says Sonny has her guarded within an inch of her life. Carly leaves, and Curtis tells Jordan that he talked to people who don’t like to talk to cops. There were no missing watercraft or vehicles. She says, if Ryan survived, he didn’t get far.

Elizabeth asks if Cameron is nervous, and he says his life is on the line. She says, when you’re a parent, your child’s life is your life. He says, it goes both ways. She asks what he means. Franco joins them, and says Cameron means he wouldn’t be in this mess if it wasn’t for him.

Laura visits Doc at the station. He wasn’t sure if he’d see her today. She says his arraignment is today, so she brought him fresh clothes.

Lulu asks Dante if something happened, and he says, it’s hard to explain. She tells him to take his time. He’s sorry, but he’s out of time. He has to leave. She says, and go where? He says, away from Port Charles. She says that’s not his answer. He says he can’t be there, and never should have come back.

Nina tells Valentin that it was a horrible idea to hold Peter hostage, but she supported Obrecht; she knew Obrecht was grieving. She was too, Valentin says Obrecht is family, but Nina doesn’t care. Obrecht insulted her daughter. Valentin says she might be misguided, but he thinks Obrecht loves her. For the benefit of giving James a tight knit family, maybe she could agree to start over. She says, respect each other? Act like family? and he says maybe they could meet halfway.

Maxie tells Peter that she likes Sasha, and he knows how she feels about Nina. He says Sasha is the half-sister she never wanted, and now can’t live without. Maxie hopes Sasha is Nina’s daughter. Peter says, only time will tell. When they get the DNA results, they’ll know what they’re dealing with. Obrecht pops out, and asks if someone said DNA tests.

Lulu asks what Dante is saying; he’s better off not there?  They don’t need him or he doesn’t need them? Explain. He says he doesn’t know how, and she says, try. He says he doesn’t feel like himself. She says she’ll take him to GH, but he says they can’t help. She says she’ll take him somewhere else. Robert owes him. She’ll start packing. He says she can’t come. This is something he needs to do on his own.

Epiphany tells Ava that she just needed to replenish her fluids. Ava says she’ll restock her wet bar, and Julian says that’s just what she needs. Epiphany says, any more, and it would have been alcohol poisoning. Ava says it’s a sweet way to go. Epiphany leaves, and Ava tells Julian to give her a break. She’s getting phone calls from beyond the grave. Excuse her if she’s wound up.

Doc thanks Laura; his other shirt had blood on it. She asks if he’s been seen by a medical professional, but he says, it’s not as bad as it looks. She says, what about his legal situation? He says, it’s as bad as it looks. They both start apologizing at the same time, and Laura says they do this a lot. He says, ladies first, and she asks if he has legal representation. He says he does, and as much as he wants her in the courtroom, she’s the mayor, and stands for the people. She says she’s his wife, and doesn’t see how she can separate the two. He does. He says file for divorce. He won’t fight it.

Elizabeth tells Cameron to remember that Judge Carson doesn’t take excuses, and most of all, say he’s sorry. Franco says he’s probably scared, and Elizabeth says, good. Trina comes into the courtroom, and sits in the behind them. The judge tells Cameron, approach the bench, and he walks up. She says she issued an adjournment in contemplation of dismissal. He made it almost two whole months without missing his community service. Tell the court why she shouldn’t punish him to the full extent.

Lulu says Dante was gone for months, and he needs more time alone? He says, that’s not what this is about. When he went to find Raj, he thought he knew what he was doing, but got in way over his head. He has no control, and he’s worried he’ll hurt somebody, even though he doesn’t mean to. She says that’s not who he is, but he says something happened while he was over there. He changed, and doesn’t know how to change back. He’s not the man he was before. Lulu says it’s like the stories about war veterans; he has PTSD. They’ll get him therapy. She’ll get a referral from Doc. He says, that’s the idea, but he’s not going to change talking to a shrink. He needs someone who’s seen this before, and knows how to handle and deal with it. He needs time. She asks, how much? but he doesn’t know. She asks, if he leaves, is he ever coming home?

Laura asks if Doc wants a divorce. He says there’s nothing he wants less, but he refuses to drag her down with him. If only he could go back. He screwed up royally. He was convinced he could reach his brother and save him. Three people are dead, and Lulu was almost a fourth. Laura says, she made it, and Doc says, barely. It’s completely on him. Laura tells him, no one would say completely, but he says, they should. The arrogance of him, thinking he could save his brother. There will be a cost, but she shouldn’t have to pay. If she divorces him, the public will understand, and praise her for her strength and independence. She tells him, forget her political career, but he says he can’t. She wonders how they got here, and he says, one reason, and she’s looking at it.

Obrecht asks which one of them is running the test, and Maxie says she is. Nothing to worry about. Obrecht says these tests are not to be taken lightly, and Maxie says, especially not this one. She asks if Obrecht remembers her non-blonde hair. She needs to know if it’s a fluke, or her first break in the road to greydom. Obrecht says, she’s running a test over a grey hair? Maxie says if she’s carrying the gene for becoming prematurely grey, she needs to know, and so does her colorist. Obrecht asks why Peter is there, and Maxie says, emotional support. She hopes Maxie finds the answer she seeks. Maxie says she’ll keep Obrecht updated. When she’s gone, Peter asks, what are the chances she bought it? Maxie says, slim to none.

Sasha goes to Nina’s office. Nina says, she’s coming too? and tells Valentin he should have led with that one. He says he was giving the bad news first. Sasha says she was hoping to get a moment alone with Nina. Nina tells Valentin to get a table, and if Obrecht shows up first, put her in a good mood. He leaves, and Nina asks if everything is all right. Sasha doesn’t know how to say this, but she’s not who Nina thinks she is. She thinks Sasha is someone who deserves what Nina has given her, and that’s not the case. Nina says she does deserve it, and more. Sasha is her daughter, and she loves her. She’s the greatest surprise that ever happened. Nothing can change that. She doesn’t need to know anything. Does Sasha thinks she doesn’t have any skeletons in her closet? She has so many, her closet is busting at the seams. Sasha says, not like this. Nina doesn’t know what brought this on, but Sasha needs to set it aside. They have to go meet Valentin. He’s worked hard to keep his family together, and she owes him that much. After that, they can talk, and Sasha can unburden herself. Whatever her misdeed is, it’s not changing anything.

Obrecht asks Valentin where Nina is, and he says, with Sasha. They’ll be coming in a minute. Obrecht says, unless her daughter-in-law gets to them first. She told him not to underestimate Maxie. He should have heeded her warning.

Peter tells Maxie that Obrecht is going to go straight to Valentin. He’s probably with her now. Maxie says, either Sasha is Nina’s daughter or not. Peter says Valentin could also be confessing to Nina, and throwing himself on her mercy. Maxie says, she looks like Britt, and more like Nathan than Britt does. It would be amazing if Sasha was really her daughter. Peter says he doesn’t think it’s likely. If Valentin hired someone… Maxie says, he hired someone who will pass.

Cameron tells the judge that he was given a second chance, and he blew it. He was upset with his family, and his friends wanted to go away. Judge Carson asks if his so-called friends were aware of his community service. He says they were, but their intention was to get home before that time. The judge says, good intentions might pave the road to hell, but hold no weight with the court. Cameron says he did think ahead, just not far enough. He didn’t factor in a blowout or his friend’s health complications. He’s learned from this experience, and will do better because of it. He’ll weigh the consequences of his actions, if given the chance.

Julian says he doesn’t think Ava is crazy, just stressed. She says she didn’t imagine it. She got a call from an unknown caller, and could hear Ryan’s heavy breathing. He says maybe it was a prank or a wrong number. Ava’s phone rings. It says unknown caller, and she shows him. She says, he was saying?

Laura tells Doc that she hasn’t gotten this far by doing what everyone else wanted, and she’s not starting now. She doesn’t want a divorce. He asks what that means for them, but Jordan comes in. They need to get Doc to the courthouse. Laura kisses him, and tells him, good luck.

Dante says he’s so sorry. Lulu says to tell her that he’s coming back, but he can’t. She asks, what the hell is going on? He says if he’d known what was going to happen, what the cost would be, he never would have left. Lulu says it doesn’t have to be this way. She, Charlotte, and Rocco are all still there. He hasn’t lost anything. He says he made the wrong call, and regrets it more than he can say, but he can’t unmake it. All that’s left is to pick up the pieces. She tells him, then do it there, but he says he can’t. He’s not doing this to her or anyone he loves. There’s no other option. She says, there are always options; pick one. He says, it has to be done through the proper channels or it won’t work. She asks if he’s talking about the WSB, and he says he leaves tonight.

Judge Carson says it’s the opinion of the court that Cameron’s growth is best served under the care of his mother and stepfather. However, his community service won’t be cut short, and he has to surrender his learner’s permit. It’s his last chance. If anything else happens, she’ll take a more punitive measure. He understands, and says he’ll stay out of trouble.

Obrecht says Valentin had Nina in the palm of his hand, but his work of deceit will lose her. He asks, what happened? and she tells him, Maxie and Peter are running a DNA test. Maxie gave her a pathetic excuse, but she knows better, and Valentin knows she collected samples from Nina and Sasha. It doesn’t take a genius to connect the dots. She suggests an extended business trip, and he should bring his daughter. He doesn’t want to be in range when Nina knows the truth. Nina appears, and says, the truth about what?

Maxie tells Peter, the truth will eventually come out; it always does. It’s better for Nina to hear it now. It’s like with Dante and Lulu, It would have been difficult to hear Maxie had a miscarriage, but better than hearing later that their daughter wasn’t their daughter. It was shattering. Peter says they got through it. Maxie says, they got past it, but something fundamentally changed for them, and she’s not sure it will ever be the same.

Lulu can’t believe this is happening. Dante says he’s sorry, and she tells him, stop saying that. He says he can’t. It never occurred to him that in protecting her he’d lose her. What they have is the most important thing to him. She tells him, then don’t abandon it. He says she’s not hearing him. He’s doing this because he loves them. It’s better than the alternative. She doesn’t believe that, and starts to cry. She says there’s nothing they can’t get through together. He says, that used to be case, and she says, it still is. He says he’s not who he was before. He’s lost. She says she’ll help him find himself, but he says she can’t.

Carly tells Laura that she spoke to Jordan, and there’s no word on whether Ryan is dead or alive. Laura says, let’s hope dead, and asks if Carly is okay. Carly asks if Laura is, but Laura says she wasn’t locked in a car trunk. Carly says Laura knows what she means, and Laura says, every day reveals a new layer of damage. Doc is being arraigned tonight. She just came from the PCPD. Carly asks how he’s doing, and Laura says, pragmatic to the end. He wants her to file for divorce.

Jordan thanks Curtis for his help. He says she’s superwoman and he loves her. Julian and Ava come in to the station. Julian says, someone is harassing Ava, but Ava says she knows it’s Ryan. Doc comes out in handcuffs, and Julian asks what he’s doing there. Jordan says, he was arrested. He’s on his way to his arraignment. She arrested him last night for aiding and abetting his brother.

Trina tells Cameron, awesome. She thought he’d be skewered. He had no idea she was coming, and she says she couldn’t leave him hanging. He’s her favorite road trip buddy. Elizabeth asks if he’s going to introduce her to his friend.

Laura tells Carly that her feelings for Doc change by the minute. Carly knows it’s incredibly difficult. Laura knows she must be angry with Doc because Ryan attacked her, and Carly says, not just her. Her and her baby.

Jordan tells Ava that she’s all ears. Ava says, last night she got a call from an unknown caller. Jordan says, she thinks it’s Ryan? She says she doesn’t think; she knows. Jordan asks if he spoke, and Ava says, it was his breathing; she knows him. Jordan says they’ll take her phone and trace the calls, and get a warrant for her cell provider to give them the locations. Ava tells Julian, someone is taking her seriously. Julian says Curtis has ways of cutting through red tape, and hands Curtis the phone. Curtis says he’s on it, but Ryan is smart enough to know it would be a dead giveaway to his location. Julian says, it’s probably nothing.

Maxie tells Peter she probably will have grey hair before this is over. A nurse at the desk gives her an envelope Brad left for her. She thanks Peter for being there. He says they make a good team. He’s kind of sad it’s over. She asks, what about their first date? and Peter says they did this instead. Maxie says, it’s not over yet. At least until she opens this. She tears open the envelope, reads the contents, and frowns. Peter asks, what does it say?

Dante comes out with his bag, and tells Lulu that he spoke to Rocco. He doesn’t think Rocco understands, and Lulu says they can be confused together. He asks her to try and not be angry, but she says don’t ask her to make it easier. He tells her to try and trust what he’s doing is for the best, to protect them, and make sure nothing happens that they can’t come back from. She asks if that means they can come back from this. He says if he doesn’t do this, they’ll never know. Lulu says, it feels wrong, and Dante says, everything about it is wrong. She asks what she’s supposed to tell everyone; Sonny, Michael, Dante’s mother? He tells her to say he left town. Something is broken inside him, and he needs to get it fixed. She says, they won’t accept it; they’ll want to help, just like she does. Dante says, they don’t have a choice, and Lulu says, just like her.

Nina tells Valentin that she can smell a lie a mile away. What are Maxie and Peter up to, and how does it affect her? She sees them come in, and says she’ll get it from the source. Nina says she heard Valentin is up to something regarding her. What is it? Maxie says they ran a DNA test. Nina asks, on who? and Maxie says her and Sasha.

Cameron introduces Trina to Elizabeth. He thanks her, and says he’ll see her in school. Elizabeth says he never mentioned anyone else was on the trip other than Oscar and Josslyn. He tells her that he didn’t say there wasn’t. She assumes he and Oscar shared a room, and he asks her to let him enjoy this. He leaves, and Franco asks, what just happened? Elizabeth thinks it’s time for a man to man talk. Franco knows just the wo-man to do that. He’s not Cameron’s favorite person. He tells Elizabeth that he’d like to hang out for a while. There’s something he has to take care of.

Curtis tells Julian and Ava that his contact came through. Good news; it’s not Ryan. It’s a robocaller; some kind of scam. I relate to her misery of getting these unwanted calls. Julian says he told her. Now can they go home? She asks, why? So he can get her to take what Epiphany slipped him? He says, a doctor wrote the prescription, so she can relax. She tells him, the only way to do that is if she knows Ryan is dead and buried. Julian says, that’s difficult if no one finds the body. She says, he came back for Felicia. He’ll come back for her. And when he does, she’ll be ready.

Laura can’t believe it, and Carly says they were surprised too. It’s crazy, right? Laura says, it’s wonderful. She must have been terrified. Carly says she was, but she’s learned life goes in a different direction at the drop of a hat. And it has consequences, some intended, some not. Laura says Doc knew his brother was dangerous. Carly says, the choice he made was awful, but only Laura can decide if the love they share is worth fighting for. There’s going be a fight, and it will get ugly but… She can honestly say, as much as Sonny infuriates her, she doesn’t regret standing by him. Carly has to go. They hug.

Franco paces in the courtroom hallway. Doc is lead in. They stare at one another.

Laura returns Alexis’s call. She’s not there, and Laura asks if they know what she was calling about. She says she’d like to discuss it further. Have Alexis call when she has the chance.

Lulu asks Dante, what if it doesn’t work? What if he doesn’t find himself; the man he’s supposed to be? Dante says, promise him… She shakes her head, and he says promise she’ll be okay, be happy, live her life, raise the kids, and the most important, take care of herself. She says she’s not giving up on him. He says she’s not giving up; she’s living her life. She says, it’s not a life if he’s not there. They kiss, and she cries. She tells him that she’ll wait forever if she has to. He says, forever is a long time. He picks up his bag, and goes to the door. Without turning around, he says he loves her, and he leaves. She says she loves him too. Outside, he leans against the door for a moment, and moves on.

IMO, kind of anticlimactic for a Friday, but I suppose not for Dante and Lulu fans.

On Monday, Nora is back to defend Doc, Nina asks why Maxie ran another DNA test, and Lucy says she’s not turning her back on Doc.

It’s nice to see Nora back in Port Charles. Although it makes me miss OLTL all over again.

March 22, 2019 – Shiloh Confronts Willow, Sad Sonny, Housewife Hilton, Not So Sweet Caroline, 90 Preview, Karma Shade, 8-Legged Quotes & That Moon

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

At the hospital. Jason asks Sam how it went, and she says, it worked like a charm. Shiloh is going to be her personal mentor, and show her the ways of DOD. All she has to do is, whatever he tells her to do.

Willow says, Shiloh. He says she does remember him, and closes the door. He says he was scared when she vanished. What could possibly have taken her from him? She asks if he really wants to know, but he says, it doesn’t matter. He’s glad she’s safe and well. He knew he’d run into her again. He didn’t know when or how, but knew he would destined to see her. Now he’s here, and once again she can stand by his side.

Laura goes to the station, and sees Jordan and Margaux. She’s surprised Jordan is at work, but Jordan promises she can handle it. Laura tells her to make sure duty doesn’t get in the way of her health. Jordan says, there’s been no progress. They haven’t recovered Ryan’s body. Laura wonders if there’s any possibility he survived, and made it back to Port Charles.

Griff punches the crap out of Doc on the pier.

In her office, Lulu is on the phone with Peter. She can’t believe being late to a meeting caused him to reassign a story she’s working on. The door handle rattles.

Carly finds Sonny in an examining room. Lucas says he’s fine, and Sonny says, it’s not that bad. She says, fine isn’t the same as not that bad, and asks, what the hell happened? Sonny says, hey, good lookin’.

Lulu tells Peter to call 911. She’s going out the back. The door opens, and she grabs something as a weapon. It’s Dante, who says he surrenders. He says she changed locks, so he had to pick it. He would have called, but thought she was working. She gets Peter back on the phone, and tells him, call off the police. It’s just Dante. Dante says, that’s all he rates? She jumps into his arms, and kisses him.

Carly asks Sonny how it happened, and how many stitches. She reminds him the doctor told her to avoid stress, but he says she’s still glowing. She wants to know everything, like how he got shot. He says Dante is the one who shot him.

Sam tells Jason that Shiloh was more than happy to welcome her. She has to allow his choices to become hers; no questions asked. He asks if she’s having second thoughts. She tells him that Shiloh said to learn commitment, she has to give up self-control. Jason says it’s crazy that people fall for it. Sam says she has to convince Shiloh that she is.

Julian sees Brad at Kelly’s. Brad asks what Julian is doing there. Julian says, don’t tell his customers, but he loves a Kelly’s BLT as much as everyyone else. Brad says he’s having a family downfall. Doesn’t Julian read The Invader? It’s there in black and white.

Shiloh tells Willow that she can’t dodge fate, even if she changed her name. He erases Miss Tait from the blackboard. She wants him to leave, but he says that’s not what he wants. She made him a promise not to leave, and she broke it.  She says, it was made under duress; it was meaningless. He says he never coerced her, but she says he had others do his dirty work. He asks what she’s talking about. She says she means it – go. He says he’s glad she became a teacher. He bets she’s good at it; better than him. His lessons didn’t stick, but there’s still time for her to be her best self. She says she warned him. She’s calling the police.

Laura says they searched from Lake Erie to Lake Ontario, and nothing? Jordan says, the police believe he was carried to the lake and froze. Margaux adds, or died on impact. Laura asks what Jordan believes. Jordan says the body will turn up in time, and Laura says like when they assumed he died in the fire. Margaux tells her the FBI is closing the case. Laura asks, is the PCPD?

Griff kicks Doc. Doc says, please, and Griff says, please what? Doc asks Griff to let him go; don’t hurt him. Grigg wonders if Kiki said those words to his brother. He wakes up wondering – when he actually sleeps. He asks himself if she had enough time to wonder if he’d come back to save her. Now Doc knows how she felt. Nobody came to save her, like no one is coming to save him. He picks up a pallet, and is about to slam Doc with it, when Ava appears. She yells at him to stop.

Carly asks Sonny if he’s sure he’s okay. Lucas says he’ll be fine with exercise and antibiotics. She can’t believe Dante shot Sonny. He says it was enough to satisfy Raj, and she asks if she should complement Dante on his marksmanship. She’s mad, but understands. He found Dante, and brought him home safe. She hugs Sonny.

Lulu tells Dante she was so scared. Some days she wasn’t sure he’d ever come home. Is he back for good? He kisses her, and says, Raj is dead. He says he shouldn’t have left, but she says he did what he needed to do to protect their family. He says he didn’t. He knows what happened while he was gone. He’s sorry he didn’t keep her safe.

Jason asks, when is Sam’s next lesson? Sam says Shiloh’s final instructions were for her to be available 24/7. Jason says, for what? but she doesn’t know. She’s just supposed to go, no questions asked. Jason says, Sonny is back. He has to tell him. Sam asks if it can’t wait, but he says, if it was their kid, wouldn’t she want know? If Sonny says it’s time to make a move, that’s it. She says it could destroy Kristina. She needs some time before Jason tells him.

Willow asks if Shiloh doesn’t believe she’ll call the cops. He asks, why the cops? He says she cares about the school; she’s a good fit. She says he doesn’t have kids, and he asks how she knows. Has she been keeping tabs on him? She says any woman would be crazy to leave a child under his influence. He says she left him, after what they went through together; what he did for her. She says he’s a loser, a liar, and a manipulator. His words are weapons, and if she has to, she’ll turn him in. He wonders what she has against him. He’s the injured party.

Jordan tells Laura that they’re going to keep looking, but have no federal Canadian resources. Laura says she’ll assist any way she can. She asks if they’ve spoken to people who knew Ryan. Jordan says they’ve spoken to Mac and Felicia. Laura says they can consult Doc too, if necessary, but Margaux says, at this point in time, Doc is a liability, and they’re going to treat him as such.

Ava says, what the hell? Griff can’t do this. He’s not Ryan; he’s Doc. He didn’t kill Kiki. Griff says, not with his own hand, but he might as well have. He knew his psycho freak brother was alive, and didn’t tell anyone. She asks if Griff is any better, beating Doc to death. Griff says she’s called him a hypocrite so many times. How does it feel to be right? She tells him, go home, and he asks why she’s protecting Doc. She says she’s protecting him. Kiki wouldn’t want not want Doc’s blood on his hands. That’s not the man she loved. Griff says Doc is all hers. Doc thanks her.

Dante says he left Lulu unprotected. She says, it already happened. She doesn’t want to waste breath on it. He’s home. That’s all that matters. Dante’s phone rings. He says, Director Jones, and Lulu says, Frisco Jones, director of the WSB? He should take the call. He answers, and thanks Frisco. He says he did what had to be done. Raj is no longer a problem. They’ll all sleep better now. He’ll have a full debriefing.

Jason asks Sonny and Carly if he’s interrupting. Sonny tells him to come in, and he asks, how’s the arm? Carly says, it’s a minor injury, but that’s not the same as fine. Sonny asks, how’s Dante? Jason says he drove him over to see Lulu, and he took it hard when he found out what happened. Sonny asks Carly if everything is okay, and she says there was trouble while he was gone.

Lucas sees Griff, and asks, what happened? Griff says he’s fine, but Lucas says he’s not. He wants to look at Griff’s hands, and says, let’s go.

Margaux tells Laura that Doc knew his brother was alive, and didn’t tell a soul. He’s not going anywhere near the investigation. Besides, he’ll be too busy defending himself. She’s charging him as an accomplice.

Doc says Ava doesn’t have to do this. Ava asks if he thinks he deserves a beating. He says, there’s not much worth saving. Ava asks if Griff is right; if he knew his brother was alive. Doc says he was treating Ryan in secret at Ferncliff, before Ryan got the jump on him, and took his place. He’s sorrier than he can say. Ava is sure he is. She’s sure he never intended for anyone to get stabbed. She tosses him a pack of tissues. She says he told himself he was doing the wrong thing for the right reasons. She knows about that lie. She’s told it to herself many times. Now here she is. The one whose kid is dead, and someone is telling her they didn’t mean for it to happen. He says she has every right to despise him. She says she didn’t ask for approval. She asks if he’s filing a police report, but he doesn’t want to make trouble for Griff. Enough people Have been hurt on his account. She says he can’t stumble off like that. Her brother will know somebody to send. He asks why she’s helping him after what happened.

Brad reads a letter from Obrecht’s Invader column to Julian. It’s about a mother who’s adoptive baby’s mother was insane. She’s worried that her baby inherited the mom’s illness. Obrecht writes, maybe. Studies have shown that the offspring of people with mental illness have a predisposition. Now Brad is worried about Wiley’s birth mom being unstable. Not only that, Wiley’s mother had to be crazy to give him up. Julian says, what about the father? Maybe he’s the one Brad needs to worry about.

Shiloh says he won’t have Willow slander his good name. She backs away from him, and says she won’t let him push her around anymore. He says her regression is staggering, but he has plenty of time to get her back. She says she’s seen how he repatriates people. He ask if she’s worried about discipline, and says they’ll welcome her back with open arms. Doesn’t she miss her family? She says, of course, but she doesn’t belong there. She has a new life. He asks if she has a new family. She doesn’t seem happy. They have everything she wants and needs. Come on. He holds out his hands. Chase walks in.

Julian asks Brad why he’s making himself crazy. A few people know that Wiley isn’t Willow’s son, and unless she starts making noises, he has nothing to fear. Julian’s phone rings, and he says it’s his sister. He notices Brad popping antacids, and suggests he see a doctor. Brad says he did, and they thought it was the stress of being a first time parent. Julian says, keep it that way, and leaves

Carly tells Sonny that she and the baby are fine. Jason says Ryan jumped off the footbridge into the Niagara River. Besides it being a long drop, it was freezing, so the cops think he’s dead. Sonny asks if that’s what Jason thinks, but Jason doesn’t know. Sonny tells him, call in every favor, and if Ryan is alive, make sure he’s not. Jason says, right now, Ryan isn’t their only problem.

Chase asks Willow if he’s Interrupting. Shiloh says, yes, but Willow says, no. He’s on time for his parent/teacher conference. Chase says he’ll let the station know where he is. Shiloh ask what’s worse, being a single parent or a detective. Chase says not much phases him. Shiloh introduces himself, and Willow says, he was just leaving. Shiloh says it’s good seeing her again. His door is always open. She just needs to walk in.

Laura says there’s no way Doc was an accomplice. Margaux says, three people were killed because he shielded his brother. Laura says she knows her husband, and Margaux asks, her point? Jordan acknowledges that it’s a politically sensitive moment, but no matter how she spins it, Doc was complicit in Ryan’s crimes. Laura asks if they think she’d try to sweep it under the rug because of political fallout. Margaux says she’s a good mayor, and Port Charles is better off with her being in office. They’re telling her so she can get in front of it. Laura says there’s nothing to get in front of or spin. She intends to be transparent. Margaux asks if, when the time comes, they have her support.

Ava tells Doc that his brother did do a lot of damage. If they added it up, she thinks she lost the most. A cop comes out, and asks if everything is okay. He sees Doc, and draws his gun. Ava says, he’s not Ryan, and the cop says he can prove that down at the station. Ava says, it’s not right. She fumbles for her phone, and drops it, asking what his badge number is. The cop asks if she wants to be booked for public intoxication. Doc says, it’s not necessary; he’s surrendering voluntarily. Ava says she’s not intimidated, but Doc says she’s saved enough people today. Call a cab, and go home. The cop leads him away.

Lucas says in med school, they all wondered who this warm, generous, gorgeous guy was. Everyone was either jealous of him or in love with him; some of them both. What happened to that guy? Griff says, he’s lost, and Ryan suggests they find him, take him home, and get him fixed up. Griff says he can’t do that there. All he sees are ghosts, and all he feels is rage. He asks Lucas to write something for him, and Lucas gets a pad. Griff says, Dr. Quartermaine, consider this my letter of resignation effective immediately.

Jason tells Sonny, Kristina is in deep. Molly got into it with her, and said straight out that Kristina was in a cult. Kristina said she didn’t need Molly or her negativity, and took off. She’s isolating herself, and cutting people from her life. He thinks this guy is controlling her. Sonny says, it has to stop. Jason says if Shiloh happens to have an accident or disappears, Sam is concerned that Kristina will know it came from Sonny, and blame herself. Carly agrees. The guilt could break her. Sonny is more concerned about what Shiloh is doing to his daughter.

Sam goes to Kelly’s with Danny. She and Brad talk about Wiley, and she tells him, the first year is the hardest. She holds Wiley, who promptly spits up on her. Brad asks Danny to get some napkins. Shiloh shows up, and says it looks like they need help.

Chase asks Willow what he just walked in on. She says, nothing, but he says she’s shaking. She can tell him or he’ll get answers from Shiloh. She says, stay away from Shiloh. Don’t get involved. He says he already is; he got a personal invitation. He saw what happened when Michael brought up Shiloh and DOD. Whatever she couldn’t say then, tell him now. She says the only thing she has to tell him is she’s canceling the weekend. He says, there will be other weekends, but she says, no, there won’t. She can’t stay in Port Charles.

At the station, the cop from the pier says he might have brought in Ryan. Laura sees Doc, and says, it’s not Ryan. It’s her husband. She asks, what happened? and he says nothing he didn’t have coming. She tells Jordan that she’s sure it’s Doc. Jordan nods, and the cop uncuffs him. Jordan says, sorry for the mistake, but since he’s there, would he answer some questions. Laura tells him, not without a lawyer, but he says he’ll answer their questions, with or without a lawyer.

Dante and Lulu get busy. There’s a song part. I finish my sandwich.

Lulu knows Dante is still thinking about what happened. She knows he won’t be at ease until Ryan is gone, but wants him to promise not to leave her alone again. He promises, and she says they can face anything together. They kiss, and we see whip marks on Dante’s back.

Lucas suggests he hang on to Griff’s resignation until he’s sure. Griff says the letter is the only thing he’s sure about. Sonny sees them, and Griff’s bandaged hands. He asks, what happened? and tells Griff, take it easy on the heavy bag. Griff says Dr. Hoffman is an excellent neurologist, and will take care of them. Carly asks, what about him? Griff says, it was an honor to take care of Mike and to know the family. He wishes them the best. He leaves, and Carly asks if he just said goodbye. Lucas says, for now.

Griff looks back before he goes out the door. Then keeps moving.

Ava takes off her ring and hurls it into the water.  Julian arrives, and she says he’s late. He says, and she’s three sheets to the wind. She says, well stocked is well armed, or something like that. He suggests they get her home. Her phone rings. She answers, and tells Julian, there’s no one there, but then says she can hear them breathing. Ryan? Julian takes the phone, and says, come near his sister again… He tells Ava, whoever it was hung up, and holds her.

Jordan puts a recorder on the table, and says, for the record, is it true Doc knew his brother was alive, and secretly placed him in Ferncliff in order to treat him without the authorities being aware? He says he found that his brother was alive, and in deep psychosis. He admitted Ryan under the alias Todd Wilson, with the intention of treating him, while concealing his existence from the authorities. Margaux says he’s under arrest for aiding and abetting Ryan. Jordan cuffs him, and reads him his rights.

Chase asks if Willow thinks Shiloh won’t find her again. She’s not thinking straight. She says, don’t tell her that. He gets that she’s scared, but he can help. Let him. She says he doesn’t understand; he can’t help. He says she got caught up in the group, somehow got out, and changed her name. She says she can’t talk about it, and he asks why she cares so much. Just say it. Shiloh is the father of her child, isn’t he? That’s what I was thinking.

Sam introduces Brad to Shiloh. Danny informs her, it’s baby spit, and she asks him to come with her to clean up. He says he’s too big for that, and Shiloh says he’ll stay with Danny. Doesn’t she trust him? Brad says he’s there too, and Sam says of course she trusts him. Danny sits, and Shiloh introduces himself as a friend of his mom. He says they can be friends too, and they fist bump. Jason sees through the window.

On Monday, Chase tells Willow the more she tells him, the more he can her and the baby; Kristina tells Alexis the only family she can count on is her family at DOD; and Jason tells Shiloh to stay away from his son.

Next, she’ll be saying it’s a conspiracy. While Kate and Josiah were pretty juvenile when Caroline was on her way out the door – or rather, wouldn’t go out the door – she’d been very taxing, and they had enough. There’s no shame in having a problem, but if you’re an adult, there is shame in not getting help for it.
