What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

The moss bowl🎍is back!!! Jason walks into Sonny’s old kitchen and asks why Carly needs to see him. She says, because she knows.

Chase comes back to the Q mansion and Brook hugs him. She asks how it went with Finn, and he says, okay, he thinks. He’s really owning what happened. He apologized for the lies and the other things he said. Finn thanked him for getting the restraining order. She asks if he actually said the words, and Chase says, he did. For that and for taking custody. He realized what he’s putting Violet through and he’s kind of torn up about it. She says, good… She means that in the most supportive way possible. He says he knows, and she tells him, when Violet said, I thought you died like grandpa, she lost it. He says he had to pull over on the drive back, and she leads him into the living room. She asks how he thinks the rehab is, but he says he didn’t go inside. Finn wanted to take that step on his own. She says, he made sure Finn went in, right? and he says, yeah. He watched him go all the way inside. But the outside was nice. Even at night, it was very peaceful. She says, sounds like just what he needs, and Chase asks how Violet is doing. Is she in bed? Brook says, she was out like a light. She was exhausted. They didn’t get a chance to discuss this before when Finn was here… He says, discuss what? and she says she had a long talk with her grandmother. She made a very strong case about how she thinks they should proceed. He asks what the empress had to say, and Brook says, she thinks it would be best if the two of them move in here with Violet.

Natalia meets Sonny at the pool (the glowing pool balls are back too!), and he thanks her for coming. She says she’s flattered he asked, and he says, it’s not too late for her, is it? She says, no. She’s a total night owl, always has been. And he couldn’t have picked a better location. Her room is right downstairs. The server asks what he can get them, and Sonny says, North Sterling scotch, neat, for the lady – she says, he remembered, and thanks him – and he’ll have the same thing. The server says, coming right up, and Natalia asks, what has Sonny up so late? He says he’s been feeling a little stifled lately at his place, and she says she can imagine. He says, so he had to change the living situation. She asks if he traded in the luxurious penthouse for the MetroCourt presidential suite, and they laugh. He says, nah, and she asks what he means then. He says, Ava moved out, and Natalia says, she seemed pretty ensconced. He says, even so, it’s time to go.

Ava thanks Laura for coming by so late, and Laura says she got Ava’s message. Has she heard from Nikolas? Ava says, not since he’s been transferred. She’s sorry. Did Laura think this was about him? Laura says, more like she was hoping. She hasn’t heard from him either. Anyways, she’s here. She didn’t realize Ava was staying at the MetroCourt. Ava says, as of this morning. It turns out she’s safer here than under the same roof as Sonny Corinthos.

Kristina looks at some paperwork with Blaze and says, some of this sounds impressive, but she can’t tell if it is or it’s a total line of BS. For example, oversaw the distribution of priority communication throughout a complex interdepartmental network. Sounds impressive or… Blaze says, sounds like mailroom? Is Kristina sure she wants to hand over the day to day running of the LGBTQ center to someone else? It is her baby. Kristina says she doesn’t want to. The Corinthos-Davis House was her idea. She’s really passionate about it, but she wants someone else to take charge right now. That’s what’s best for the center. Blaze asks, how exactly is Kristina stepping back what’s best for the center? and Kristina says, because she came up with a really powerful idea, but there are people more qualified than she is who can run the center and make her vision a reality. Besides she doesn’t want to start back up again at the Corinthos-Davis House, then have to go on maternity leave five seconds later. Blaze says, maternity leave?

Chase asks if Tracy’s suggestion they move in here an invitation or a demand? and Brook says, it was a very strong invitation. He says, she decided this unilaterally? and she says, Monica and Olivia both signed off on it. He says, Monica and Olivia agreed with Tracy? Both of them? She says she knows. It’s like the Seven Seals of the Apocalypse all burst open at once. Of course (🍷) she said she wasn’t going to make any decisions without discussing it with him first. He says, okay. Let’s discuss it. What are the pros? Brook says, her grandmother first pointed out that they can’t move into his brother’s place with Violet, what with her grandfather dying there and her finding her father passed out and bleeding on the floor. Chase says, that’s a good point. So they’ll move into his place. Brook says, yeah, it’s just… He says, that it’s too small. They can get a bigger place. They’ve been talking about doing that anyway. What better time? She says, they could, and he says, where would they stay here that has more privacy than their own place? She says, there’s a suite with two bedrooms and a private bath, and there are tons of kids running around. Not to mention, Monica and Olivia and Willow and Sasha. Lots of positive, nurturing maternal energy. He tells her that she didn’t say Tracy, and she says, neither did she. He says, so those were Tracy’s talking points, and she says, pretty much. She also said, Violet needs consistency now. Not when they move, but right now. He asks if she agrees, and she says she thought they were really good points. What does he think? He says, when he was driving back from the rehab place alone, he was thinking about something Finn said to him about how he was being the big brother, taking care of him. Chase’s whole life he had his dad to take care of him. Now he’s responsible for his family, to provide for them and make sure they’re safe. When he was driving, every minute, every mile, he was coming up with a plan and revising it because he’s never had a kid, and now he has custody of one. He knows it’s just temporary, but he doesn’t know how long it will be. Not really. But the whole way back, he thought, yes. He can step up for his niece. He can give her the home she deserves.

The server brings the scotch, and Sonny thanks him. Natalia says, after what Ava did to Kristina’s mom, she can imagine it got pretty tense in the house, and Sonny says, but not for long. He doesn’t know what he was thinking, letting her move into his place. She says, he was thinking about his daughter Avery. By the way, she thinks she can guess who came up with that name. He says, she’d be right. Still, he thinks it suits his little girl. She agrees, and says, it’s none of her business but… He says, fire away, and she says, aside from this recent cohabitation, Ava doesn’t seem like she’s the one who got away. He says, Ava can’t get far away enough, and she laughs. She says, to long distance, and they clink glasses. He says, there is one person he thought he could count on until his dying day. She turned her back on him. She asks if that’s his wife Nina, but he says, no. Nina was a different mistake, but what she did happened around the same time. These people he could count on, he figured out he couldn’t count on them at all. She tells him that he said people, so more than one, and he says he discovered that these two people were the closest to him of anyone, and they were conspiring against him. At that time, he didn’t think Ava was, so he let her in. He should have known better because Ava was and always will be a treacherous viper.

Laura says she knows Ava and Sonny have a complicated history, but she thought they’d come to an understanding of late. Ava says she certainly thought so. As far as she knew, she and Sonny were closer than ever. They’d become… Friends might be too big a word, but they’d begun to let their guard down. They were confiding in each other. There was a kind of trust. Laura says, and now? and Ava says, now she’s living in a hotel, scrolling through real estate apps. Laura says, it’s not like Sonny to put the mother of one of his children out on the streets, and Ava says she’s not exactly destitute. Laura says, that’s very true. Would Ava mind telling her what happened between them? Ava says she wishes she knew. She’s sure Laura’s noticed how erratic Sonny has been lately. He’s lashed out at almost everybody, and up until now, she’s avoided being a target of his wrath. Laura says, and she has no idea why he suddenly turned on her. Ava says, none. She wouldn’t be able to correct it even if she did. Because with Sonny, any offense is a capital crime, real or imagined. Laura says she’s aware of how he feels about loyalty, and Ava says she sees Laura’s been the brunt of it herself. Don’t worry. She won’t pry. Laura thanks her, and Ava says, if anything, she’s been trying to support Sonny, and he seemed to be appreciating it. Then today, he became completely irrational. He picked a fight with her over she doesn’t even know what. It was so unsettling. It was so unmoored from reality, she had no choice but to leave. Laura says she’s become aware just recently that Sonny is not the man she thought he was. Except that lately, it seems like he’s been giving in to all of his worst impulses. But she hasn’t known Ava to be a completely helpless victim, so come on now. Why doesn’t Ava tell her what they were really fighting about?

Carly says, the FBI used her to strongarm Jason into being an informant. Which means it’s her fault he lost two and a half years of his life that he could have spent with his family. He asks, who told her? but she says, it doesn’t matter. He says, it does matter. He needs to know. She says, Sam. Sam’s not happy about it and blames her and she gets it. He asks how Sam found out, and she says, how does he think? He says, Spinelli, and she says, Sam got Spinelli to hack into the FBI’s evidence file and they found a recording of her at that meeting with Cyrus Renault and the Five Families, announcing to everyone that she was head of the Corinthos organization. Spinelli wasn’t able to delete the file. He says, that’s good. He thinks they’d notice that. She says, he was able to make a recording though, and Sam played it for her. Jason had a choice. His freedom and his family, or her. Why did he pick her? (Ugh. Just get a room at the MetroCourt already.)

Ava says, apparently, Kristina made some petty accusation against her. And because Kristina is the apple of Sonny’s eye, she got the boot. She’s sure Kristina is throwing a party somewhere as they speak. Her concern is that the person who will suffer the most from her moving out is Sonny. Laura says, how so? and Ava says she’s tried to be a stabilizing influence. She hasn’t been very successful, especially considering what happened at that wedding. Laura says, what wedding? Oh, Brook Lynn and Chase. Ava says, yeah. Sonny beat a man within an inch of his life at the reception. Laura says, oh my God, and Ava says, it’s no surprise Laura hasn’t heard about this, because as usual with Sonny, no charges were filed.

Kristina tells Blaze that she just meant maternity leave like in the sense of the time period a woman takes after she gives birth, whatever that time period is called. Blaze says, so family leave, and Kristina tells her that she said whatever. Blaze says, obviously, she will need time to recover, but isn’t that like twelve weeks? and Kristina says, yeah. Blaze says, isn’t that so the new parents can get acclimated to raising their newborn? and Kristina says, it’s for whatever they need it to be for, but yes, most importantly for that. Blaze says, but if she’s not raising the baby, can’t she return to the center in the amount of time the doctors recommend? Kristina says, six weeks, and Blaze says, why give up running the center she built from the ground up when she can just start six weeks in? Kristina says, because she doesn’t know what’s going to happen. She doesn’t know if Molly and TJ are going to break up or if they’re going to stay together. She doesn’t know if they’re maybe going to stay together and then maybe a year later, they’re going to break up. She doesn’t know. And if TJ decides that he does want full custody, and he does because it’s his biological and legal right… Blaze tries to interrupt, but Kristina says, stay with her. Molly has no legal or biological claim to this child, but she does. Blaze says, hold on a second. Is she saying she would actually try to get custody for Molly?

Natalia says she hasn’t had much interaction with Ava, but Ava always seems so disingenuous to her, and Sonny says, that’s putting it kindly. She says, if she ever crosses paths with Ava again, she’ll have her guard up, and Sonny says, do him a favor. Don’t cross paths with her. She’s going in a different direction. Natalia laughs and says she’ll keep that in mind. She doesn’t scare easily though, so she doesn’t like to give anyone that power over her to be afraid. He says he’s not telling her to be afraid. He’s just saying, don’t underestimate Ava. She says, duly noted, and enough about her anyhow, and Sonny says, here you go, raising his glass. They clink glasses, and Natalia says, on to more pleasant topics. What were they talking about before her? He says, betrayal, and she says, that’s pleasant. He says, it’s a downer, he knows, and she says, well, it’s a beautiful night in a beautiful place. And the scotch is amazing… and the company... He says, loves misery, but she says, no. Not afraid of the dark. He says, to the darkness, they clink again, and she says, and to the light that follows. She doesn’t want to belabor the topic, but there just is no pain quite like the wound of betrayal. She’s so sorry he had to go through that. He says, the same. What about her? Did she ever forgive the person who betrayed her? She tells him, who said there was just one? and he says, oh, there was more than one. He didn’t know that. She says, forgive? She doesn’t know if she forgives. She moves on. She doesn’t forget. The Lord wants her to forgive, so she tries. What about him? He says, no, and she says, just no? That’s it? They laugh and he says, actually, with family he forgives. And his family forgives him. That’s what families do, right? She says, right, but doesn’t he find it harmful not tempering anger with mercy? He says, sometimes. He’s been thinking lately about the people who turned away from him, who he trusted, that they believed in him. They all have one thing in common – me.

Jason says he never wanted Carly or the moss bowl🎍to know about this, and Carly asks, why? It’s her life. She’s the one who could be charged. He says he made sure she wouldn’t be, and she says, by sacrificing himself. He says, because he knew if she found out, she would confront the FBI and dare them to charge her, and that wouldn’t make any sense at all. She says, and him becoming an informant does? For more than two years? He says he didn’t think it would be that long. He thought it would be six months. One undercover operation and he’s out, she’s safe, but then it was another year, and another year after that. She cries, and he says, there was never a moment when it was too much. He never once thought about bailing. She says, of course (🍷) he didn’t. This is what he does. He always protects her, but this time, she was the target. She deserved to know, and she should have a say in how they handle things. He says, there is no we. He’s handling it the way he’s handling it. She says, that’s not an option anymore. She’s not going to let him throw his life away because… He says he’s not throwing his life away. He agreed to do a job and that’s what he’s doing. She asks how he knows Cates won’t double-cross him. How does he know Cates won’t say, thanks for your help; here’s you next mission? Does he honestly believe the FBI and John Cates are ever going to let him go?

Kristina says she just wants to know what her options are, and Blaze says, options that keep the baby in the family so Molly can raise it, or does she want the baby for herself? Kristina says, now who’s going into hypotheticals? and Blaze asks if she’s actually looked into these options. Kristina says, no, she hasn’t, but she did ask her mom for guidance. Her mom just didn’t want to give her opinion. Blaze says, very wise, her mother, and Kristina says, her mother did direct her to the legal statute involved, if hypothetically, she did want to pursue custody. Blaze says she guesses that’s not so bad, and Kristina says, and she did draw up a mock petition that could arguably be filed in court. Blaze says, Kristina… and Kristina says she thinks her chances are better than 50%. The baby’s not just a package you can hand over. If the courts agree with her and she gets custody, she’s the one who’s going to have to raise this child. Blaze once said she wished this baby were theirs. How would she feel about co-parenting?

Laura tells Ava that this is the first she heard Sonny attacked someone at the wedding. Who was the victim? Ava says she tried to ask him, but Sonny was pretty distraught himself over losing control in front of Kristina. Laura says, Kristina saw it? and Ava says, from what she understands, Kristina witnessed the whole thing, and she became extremely upset. Not that it matters now, because all is forgiven. Kristina and her father are once again thick as thieves. Laura thanks Ava for telling her this, and gets up. She gets her bag, and Ava says she knows it’s not the happiest news to impart, but she thought Laura should know. Although it’s not why she asked Laura here. Laura says, oh. She didn’t think so actually. Ava says, but it is about Sonny. He’s become so erratic, she doesn’t know what he’s going to do from one moment to the next. And the way they left things, she’s afraid he’s become so unhinged and paranoid, that he’s going to try and get their custody agreement overturned to keep Avery for himself. She cannot allow that to happen.

Brook says, Violet is Chase’s niece, so of course (🍷) he wants to take the lead in figuring out the best course of action for how she moves forward. She gets up, heads for the door, and says, so she’s going to tell Tracy that they’re going to leave… He says, wait, and follows her. He’s so grateful to her and her family – she says, they’re his family too – for wanting to help and take the three of them in. She says, of course (🍷). He knows how much her grandmother loves Finn, and Chase’s father, may he rest in peace, and she also loves making decisions. He tells her, what he was trying to say earlier. When he was driving and planning and worrying what to do about Violet, he walked through the front door and saw her. And it made him realize, he doesn’t have to do this alone. He has his wife – he takes her hands – the best partner and co-pilot and teammate he could ask for. She says she not only loves him, she admires him, because he shows up for the people he loves most, and he never complains. He says he complains sometimes, and she says, he’s kind and strong and gentle and he leads with his heart. He says, she should write all this down for when they renew their vows, but she says she’ll remember, and kisses him. So now that they’ve said all those things, what does he think of Tracy’s idea?

Carly says, Jason has no way to be sure the FBI will ever let them off the hook, not now, not ever, and he says, no, he doesn’t, but that’s the risk and he’s willing to take it. She says, but she’s not. That’s why she started exploring other options. He asks who she’s been talking to, and she says she talked to Diane because she wanted to know her chances of acquittal if she turned herself in. He says he hopes Diane said zero, and Carly tells him, she said 30. He says, Diane’s a great lawyer, but he would round that number down, and she says she gets it. They’re not great odds. But what are the odds of the FBI letting him go and him getting his life back? The only way to stop them is to call their bluff. He says, she keeps talking about the time that he’s lost with his family. If she turns herself in, if she goes to prison, then everything he did – he raises his voice – everything he sacrificed to protect her means nothing. So please, do not throw all of that away.

Chase says, here’s the deal. When he married Brook, he knew that a boatload of Quartermaines, Falconaris, and Cerullos came with the package. Brook says, for better or for worse, and he says, and now that he’s met them… She tells him that she knows what he’s going to say, but they really do mean well, and he tells her that he was going to say, he definitely thinks it’s to the better. She says, oh. Well, they do mean well. Except for Cousin Patty; she’s a mess. Anyway, what was he going to say? He says he came from a pretty small family to begin with, and now that his dad’s gone, his mom is off to parts unknown, and Finn is getting back on track, her loud, crazy family full of meddlers and busybodies… She says, he’s skating on thin ice, and he tells her that he’s just saying, he shouldn’t be surprised that they’d welcome him and Violet into the fold. She says, of course (🍷). They adore Violet, and she’s pretty sure they already prefer him over her. He says he thinks it’s because he’s easier to get along with, and she says, that’s a lot of words for pushover. And yeah, the Qs and the Cerullos are a crazy mixed bag, but we love each other. He says, even Cousin Patty? and Brook says, she keeps getting invited to stuff, so she guesses so. Which only proves her point. When something is up with one of them, they come together. They step up for each other, and Chase and Violet are a part of that family. He’s stuck with them. They kiss, when Gio walks in. He says he’s sorry for interrupting. Violet heard him tuning his violin. She came looking for the sound and she got lost going back to her room, so he helped her find it. She was pretty tired, so he’s pretty sure she’s asleep now. Chase thanks him for looking out for Violet, and Gio says, if nobody minds, he’s just going to go outside and practice. Brook asks if this is for Ava’s gallery, and he says, yeah. She says, play badly, and he says, if only he knew how. He leaves, and Brook asks what Chase thinks of the move. He gives her a quick kiss and says, hold that thought. He’s going to check on Violet. He dashes out.

Laura asks if Ava wants her to assist in a custody battle with Sonny, and Ava says, yes. Laura says she really shouldn’t be getting involved with that, and Ava says, Laura once told her that they’re family, even after she and Nikolas divorced. Did she mean that? Laura says she did, because she believes Ava truly loved her son, and actually, she thinks Nikolas still loves Ava. Ava says she loves him too, but oil and water, and Laura says she knows. Ava says, at this point in her life, other than Avery, Laura and Trina are the closest thing she has to family. That means something to her. Laura says, family means a lot to her too, and while she cares about Ava, don’t dare use that to work her. If there’s something Ava wants from her, be direct and ask her. Ava says, okay. Cards on the table then. She spoke to Scotty, and he said if Sonny tries to smear her in court, it could work, and she cannot let that happen. She cannot let Sonny have Avery. He’s barely fit to care for himself. Laura says, she’s right, and Ava says, as she sees it, the best defense is a good offense, right? So she’s looking for character witnesses. Just in case. So may she give Laura’s name to Scotty as someone who would be willing to appear in family court on her behalf?

Chase finds Brook asleep on the sofa, kisses her forehead, and sits on the coffee table. She wakes and asks how Violet is doing. He says, she’s fine. Seeing her sleeping peacefully up in her bed, then coming down and seeing Brook sleeping peacefully on the couch, has him thinking, there’s no better place for the three of them to spend the summer. She says, really? Is he sure? He says, it’s the right thing to do for Violet. She’ll have kids to play with, boats to ride, docks to swim off of, horses… Brook says, she’s super jazzed about the horses, and he says he’s super jazzed about spending the summer with his amazing wife and her massive family – their massive family. Tomorrow, he’ll start moving their stuff, and Violet’s too.

Laura says she understands Ava’s need to keep Avery really close to her right now, especially since lately, Sonny’s behavior has been genuinely concerning. Ava asks if that means Laura will help her. Can she give Laura’s name to Scotty? Laura says, yes, but that’s because if Avery has to have only one custodial parent right now, she believes it should be Ava. Ava thanks her, and Laura says, don’t make her regret this. Ava says she won’t. She promises. Laura’s faith and support mean everything. She’s sure Scotty will be contacting her. Laura says, okay, and goes to the door. Ava says she promises if she hears from Nikolas, she’ll let Laura know. She really does want only the very best for him. Laura thanks her and says her too, and leaves.

Jason says, if Carly goes forward with this and gets convicted, this life she has now, with the moss bowl🎍, the kids, Bobbie’s, the hotel, it’s all done. She’s probably going to go away for twenty years. Josslyn and Michael can take turns bringing Donna to visit her until she’s old enough to visit Carly on her own. And all for what? All because she wanted to turn herself in when she didn’t have to. How’s Donna going to feel when Carly abandons her for him? Carly says, Donna will always know she loves her, and he says, enough to stay out of prison for her? She says, that’s not fair, but he says, that’s a fact. Here’s another fact. If she goes to prison, he’ll blame himself every day for the rest of his life. So if she doesn’t want her daughter to grow up without her and doesn’t want him to carry that guilt, just stop. Just back off and let him finish what he started. She says, okay, fine. She gets it. She gets that he has to follow through with all this. She gets it. He breathes a sigh of relief and thanks her. She says, but what if she can’t stand it?

Kristina says, honestly, if the situation presents itself, would Blaze want to co-parent this child with her? Blaze says, does she want kids at all? She thinks, someday maybe, but right now with her career on the upswing, she just doesn’t think it’s a good time for her to be a mom. She hopes Kristina’s not too disappointed. Kristina says, no. How could she be? It’s not exactly the right time for her to be a mom right now either. In a perfect world, Molly and TJ would peacefully and blissfully raise this child on rock steady ground. She wouldn’t have to think about this. Blaze says, then why think about it at all? Couples fight. She knows, not Molly and TJ, but yes, Molly and TJ. It will all blow over and Kristina will have wasted a lot of energy over nothing. Kristina says, no. She has to be prepared. If this goes badly and TJ wants custody of this child, she has to make sure her sister has access to this baby. And the only way to do that is by suing TJ for custody.

Natalia pushes one of the glowing pool balls with her foot and asks if Sonny usually has trouble sleeping. He asks if he looks tired, but she says, no. Restless maybe. But that might just be her projecting. There are so many nights that she lies awake with a million thoughts racing through her head. It almost feels like ghosts. Has that ever happened to him? He says, all the time, and she says she thinks he has the right idea. In situations like this, when you’re being swarmed by ghosts, you need to reach out to a friend – she picks up her glass – have a drink in the night air. It’s a good way to make all that noise stop. He raises his glass and says, to finding our friends in the darkness. They clink glasses, and she says, cheers. He says, cheers, and drains his glass.

Ava walks on to the patio with her martini. She says, to new beginnings.

Carly says she admits Jason is right about all of it, and he says, good. He’ll take it from here. She says, but what if it’s too much of a cost for her? What if she can’t live with knowing she’s the reason he hasn’t had a day of freedom since November of 2021? He says, she doesn’t have to live with it. He does. She says she wouldn’t be the person she is today if not for him. Her life wouldn’t be what it is if she hadn’t met him. So how does she let the FBI use him, knowing she had the power to stop it? He says, she told him that she was going to do this his way, and she says she knows, but she changed her mind. He says, she can’t change her mind, not about this. He chose to take the FBI’s deal. So please, he’s asking her, do not get in the way of it.

On Monday, Ava says, there’s got to be something Trina’s herd that she can use; Natalia tells Maxie, this is not what they agreed to; Josslyn tells Sonny that she’s not going to make the same mistake twice; and Kristina can’t stop thinking about what’s going to happen to her.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Brook says, they’ll have to excuse her. She’s got some rounds to make. Chase tells her to wait, then kisses her. Dante says, he’s a lucky man, and Chase says he sure is. Anna asks Sam, how’s the P.I. business? Any interesting new cases? Sam says, same old, same old.

Brook says she’s so glad Monica got Jason to come, and he says, she wanted to come herself. And he knows she’d want him to tell Brook, congratulations. She thanks him and says, it’s good to see him. She moves on.

Gloria says, they don’t see enough of Sonny. He doesn’t come around the neighborhood as much as he should. Carmine says, they have a big 4th of July party every year, and he wants to see Sonny there this year. Sonny says he’ll try, but Gloria says, no trying. Brook runs up to Sonny and hugs him. She says she’s so glad he came, and he says he wouldn’t miss it for the world.

Lois tells Drew and Jordan, say fromaggio, but Jordan says, that’s okay. Drew says, they’re not… and Lois says, they’re not the mother of the bride. She is, and she’s walking around taking pictures of everyone, so pick their favorite cheese and say, fromaggio. Drew puts his arm around Jordan, and they say, fromaggio. Lois says, beautiful, and takes their photo.

Gloria tells Blaze that their great grandkids love her music, and Blaze thanks her. Carmine says, don’t be embarrassed. Tell her. Blaze says, tell her what? and Carmine says, she loves it too. When the kids are dancing, she’s out there with them like she’s going to break something. Gloria says she’s going to break him and asks if Blaze is going to perform today. They’d love it so much. Kristina says, Blaze is a guest, and Gloria says she knows, but she’s here and she’s got that amazing voice. Natalia joins them and says, she really wanted to perform, but think about it. If Brook had her most important client perform at her wedding… Carmine says, exploitation, and Natalia says, right.

Violet asks how Michael, Willow, and Josslyn liked her song, and Michael says, they loved her song. Josslyn says, and she wrote that all by herself? and Violet says, yes, she did. Gregory watches them and smiles.

Maxie throws her arms around Jason and says, it’s so good to see him. (I hope that poor guy has recovered from his gunshot wound. Everyone is manhandling him.) At this wedding, obviously, but just in general. Spinelli joins them, and she says, Spinelli really missed him, and so did she. Jason says, it’s always good to see her, and Spinelli asks if she’s free to enjoy herself, or does she still have responsibilities? Maxie says, this is Olivia’s show now. Her responsibilities ended at the church. Spinelli says, the violinist was superlative, and she says she thought so too, but she can’t take any credit for that. He’s a cousin of the Cerullos or something. Usually when a family says they have someone they want to play at the ceremony, it’s a total mess, but she thinks he was really good.

Lois hugs Gio and tells him that his performance was perfection. He could not have given Brook a greater gift. He says he’s glad she liked it, but Brook was a little busy. He doesn’t think she noticed. She says, is he kidding her? Everybody noticed his talent. All the family is so proud of him. She hugs him again.

Finn stares at the champagne glass he took a sip from, when Violet comes up to him with Elizabeth. Violet says she needs to ask him a question and he needs to be honest with her. He says, ask away, and she says, what did he think about her song? He says, honestly? That she’s amazing. She hugs him, and Elizabeth says, it’s almost dinnertime. Why doesn’t Violet find their place cards? Violet runs off, and Elizabeth says, Finn seems upset. Did something happen? He looks at the glass again.

Cody is sweeping the stables, when Sasha comes in with a picnic basket. He says, what’s this? and she says, it’s samples. She just finished up wrapping up all the after-party prep. He says, catering for two families. What was she thinking, volunteering for such a mission? She says she honestly feels so bad that she couldn’t make it to the wedding. She wanted to go, she was planning on going, but she had no idea how much Lois and Olivia were expecting from her for this after-party. They gave her this long list of food to prepare, and being so new at the job, she couldn’t say no. He says he gets it, and she says, well, Yuri and Leo are splitting some take-out and playing video games. Monica wanted a late dinner, and being as everyone else is still at the reception – she opens the basket and takes out a bottle of wine – it seems that we have the Quartermaine manse all to ourselves.

Sonny tells Natalia, sorry. He didn’t mean to leave her stranded, but she says, not at all. Actually, it’s been really nice to see him hanging out with his really loving family and friends.

Anna goes up to Jason and jokes, for the love of God, I know this is a party, but you’re causing a scene. Can you just rein it in?… Everything okay? He says, why wouldn’t it be? and she says, three names, Cates, Brennan, Pikeman. Why doesn’t he just forget about all that for the evening? He says he will if she will.

In a Pentenville shower room, Jack washes his hands, while another inmate finishes his shower. The inmate leaves, and Jack unwraps a knife from a nearby towel. He checks the sharpness against the metal sink.

Brook thanks Gio so much for playing, and kisses him on both cheeks. Didn’t she tell Chase he was brilliant? Chase says, she did, and she did not exaggerate.

Anna says she knows it’s not in Jason’s nature, but it wouldn’t kill him to mingle. He says, she’s right… It’s not in his nature. She laughs and says, it’s not like she’s asking him to go up to total strangers and start discussing the trends in coffee… fashion… gadgetry. There’s a lot of people here who really missed him.

Dante tells Sam, no matter what his cousins say or do, they are not going to this after-party. They’re going to try to get to him through her. They’re going to get her to go and get her to drag him along. They’ve got to present a united front. She says, this is new for him, and he says, what is? She says, cowardice, and he says, wow. She kisses him.

Jack sharpens the knife against the front of the sink, when another inmate walks in and says, too slow. Jack asks what he means, and the man says he saw it. A homemade shank. Jack tells him that he’s not saying he has such an item, but if he did, what could he offer the man to pretend he never saw it? The man says, how about he just takes the item? Jack won’t want the guards finding something like that on him. Jack says, no deal. He needs it. The man says, make a new one, and Jack punches him, then karate chops him on the back of the neck, the man falling to the floor. (This is impressive, since he’s twice Jack’s size.)

Cody says he knows jack (ha-ha!) about wine, but judging from this year, he’s guessing these grapes weren’t growing in Napa last summer. Sasha says, they were not, and he says, and she didn’t just get this bottle from a local wine and spirit outlet. She says, Ned uncorked it last night and only had one glass. He says he’s wondering, are the Q’s going to be okay with them absconding with this bottle? and she says, he didn’t abscond with anything, she did, and she’s the chef. He says, even so… and she says, please. She’s had their wine before and it never bothered them, so why would it now? He says, maybe because this bottle is expensive, even for them (he knows this how if he doesn’t know jack?), she says, it probably was when it was corked, but he can be sure of one thing, that wine is good tonight, and it definitely won’t be tomorrow. He says, well then, as a budding wine connoisseur, he cannot in good conscience allow today’s good wine go to waste tomorrow.

Chase asks how Gio and Brook are related again, and Brook says, they’re cousins once removed. Or is that twice? She always gets that mixed up or confused. (Same, and the grand or great uncle/aunt thing.) Anyway, he’s a Cerullo on his mom’s side. He gets his musical talent from his mom. Chase says, so his dad’s not musical, and Gio says he doesn’t really know. He was in the military. He died before Gio was born. Chase says he’s so sorry, but Gio says, it’s fine. He’s very proud of him. Chase says, as he should be. Actually, that guy in the blue suit there (Dex), he served in Afghanistan. He’s now at the police academy. Gio asks if he likes it, but Chase says, Gio will have to ask him. Brook says, no, no, no. Do not try to recruit Gio to be a cop. Her grandmother would have a heart attack, not to mention the rest of the family. Gio is going to be a concert violinist. Isn’t that right? Gio says, that’s the plan.

Elizabeth says she knows it wasn’t easy for Finn, seeing his dad struggle. Look. He’s fine. Finn says, he seems to have recovered thanks to Tracy. She’s really good with him. Elizabeth says, she is. Who would have thought? The point is, they shouldn’t think about what happened because his dad is having a wonderful time right now. He says, she’s absolutely right. The bartender removes the glass.

Anna turns around and Sonny is there. He asks how Dex is doing at the academy, but she says she’s not about to discuss that with him. And he should know better than to ask. She walks away, and Sonny laughs. Natalia walks up and takes his hand. She asks if they should go find their seats, and he says, yes.

Maxie takes the floor and says she thinks one of the most important lessons she’s learned from Brook is that, just because you can’t stand somebody – for a very good reason, she might add – doesn’t mean your lifelong enemy can’t become one of your very best friends. A friend that is there for you when you need someone the most. She congratulates Brook, and Brook hugs her, saying, love you. Maxie says, love you… Oh yeah, and Chase. You sweet, handsome, honorable man, just do your best not to arrest her again. Good luck with that. She raises her glass and says, congratulations to the happy couple. Everyone clinks glasses and says, to the happy couple.

Brook thanks Olivia for being the best wicked stepmother ever, and Olivia says she does what she can. They hug, and Lois tells Ned, he’s done good. He says, she didn’t do too bad herself, and she puts her hand on his.

Gio introduces himself to Dex, and says, Chase was telling him that Dex served in Afghanistan. His dad did too. Dex asks if he knows where, and Gio says, no. His dad was killed in action before he was born. He doesn’t have a lot of details about his service. Dex says he’s sorry for Gio’s loss, and Gio thanks him. He says he didn’t mean to put Dex on the spot, but he thinks what Dex did was very important. Thank you. Dex says, so does he. Gio’s dad must have gone over there pretty early. 2001? 2002? Gio says, it was 2002. Did Dex like serving in the military? Dex says he did. It’s hard when you’re deployed. You spend a lot of time thinking about home. He bets Gio’s dad spent a lot of time thinking about his mom and wondering who Gio would turn out to be. Gio says, a violinist? and Dex says he bets Gio’s dad would have really liked that. When you’re surrounded by destruction, you have a lot of respect for the people who create things that are beautiful. Like music.

Sonny asks if Lois can stop Gio from talking to that guy, and she says, why? He says, he used to work for me and he’s not trustworthy. She says, it’s a wedding reception. They’re probably talking about sports scores. He says he doesn’t care. He doesn’t want Gio talking to him. She says, the bigger deal he makes of this, the bigger deal it’s going to be. So just let it go, okay? She walks away, but it looks doubtful that Sonny is going to let it go.

Spinelli asks if he’s told Maxie how beautiful she looks, and she asks if he means in the last 15 minutes. He says, that’s far too long. It’s unforgivable. He’s about to kiss her, when Sam appears. She says, got a minute? and steers him away.

Sasha says she really wonders how the wedding is going, and Cody says, it’s a wedding. It’s either great or godawful. There’s no in between. She says, if those are the options, she thinks it’s going great, and he says, you can wish all you want, but there’s about a billion things that can go wrong. They could forget the rings, someone could object, there could be food poisoning, a runaway bride, a runaway groom… She says, wow. Okay. Until she hears otherwise, she chooses to believe this wedding day is everything Brook and Chase would want, and she can’t wait to see pictures. He asks if she wants more wine. He could use some. He picks up the bottle, but she says, hey, whoa. What is with him? He says, she’s with him, and she asks if he has something against weddings. He says, not weddings per se. He just hoped it was a cliché that all women dreamed of a formal church wedding. She asks why it matters, and he says, because even if a guy like him could convince a woman to marry him, he doubts he could afford the big, fancy wedding of her dreams. (I guess no one has told him that’s not how this works.)

Sam takes Spinelli near the entrance where there are no other people, and he says he thought she didn’t want to discuss this tonight. She says she changed her mind, and he says he would love to help her, but he also values his freedom far too much to investigate – he looks around – the FBI. What’s the goal here, besides getting locked up in federal prison? She says, full disclosure? and he says, by all means. Redact nothing. She says she’s not sure, and he says, a fishing expedition is one thing, but the data stores of federal law enforcement are vast beyond comprehension. How do they even know how to start? She says she doesn’t know. Maybe he can help her. All she does know is that Jason has been working for the FBI as an informant. He says, working for the FBI? and she says she knows it sounds crazy, but Jason actually told her so himself. And the only reason he would work as an informant would be… He says, if the FBI held damning evidence against him, and she says, yeah. And they have to find it.

Olivia says, it is that time, folks, when we welcome our beautiful newlyweds to the dance floor. The guests applaud and cheer as the music begins. Brook and Chase come out and have their first dance together.

Lois dances with Chase, while Ned dances with Brook (and hey, why isn’t Chase’s mom here?). Lois whispers something to Chase, who leaves the dance floor and goes over to Gloria. He asks, may I have this dance? and she says, yes, you may. She tells Carmine, don’t be jealous, and Carmine says, of what? She says, think of a reason, and she and Chase go out to dance. Brook whispers to Ned that she wants to dance with Gregory and kisses him on the cheek. She asks Gregory, may I have this dance? and he says, um… looking at his cane. She says, he doesn’t need that, and she gives it to Tracy. He says, it would be his honor, and they go out on the floor. Olivia and Ned are dancing. Kristina tells Lois that it seems like Sonny is having a good time, and Lois says, he’s surrounded by Cerullos. How could he not be? Kristina is lucky to have a dad like him, but she thinks Kristina already knows that. Kristina says, she does, and Lois tells her, although she’s got to say, if Kristina only knew him back in the day – oh. Kristina asks if she even wants to know, and Lois says, her dad is a stand-up guy. Always has been and he always will be.

Spinelli says, and Sam is certain this would help Jason? and she says, honestly, she doesn’t know, but she thinks they have to at least try. Because Jason would do the exact same thing for them. Spinelli says he’s in, and she hugs him and says, thank you.

More contemporary music starts, and Dex asks if Josslyn thinks she can keep up with his sick moves. She says she can try (I’m surprised she didn’t burst out laughing like I did), and they join everyone dancing. Brook goes over to Sonny and says, the bride gets to pick who she dances with on her wedding day. She holds out her hand, and he says, it would be his honor. Chase asks Violet, may I have this dance? and holds out his hand. She takes it and says she thought he’d never ask. Everyone is having the best time, so you just know something is going to go sideways.

As Cody pours the wine, Sasha says, first of all, she doesn’t think all women dream of getting married in the first place. Let alone, have a big wedding that takes over a year to plan. Cody says, and at least a year’s salary to pay for, and she says, traditionally, the groom’s family doesn’t even pay for the wedding; the bride’s family does. He says, is that a part of the dowry, or is that in addition to, since they’re talking about tradition? Sasha says, and traditionally, sure, every fairytale ends with a wedding, and he says, she clearly wasn’t raised by Germans. The Grimm brothers… She says, and popular culture tells little girls that their wedding day is the one day they get to be a princess, but she thinks it’s just one way to celebrate love. He says, if she has a better way, he’s all ears, and she says, take her and Brando for example. They got married in a garage, and yeah, it wasn’t really what they imagined, but they were just so excited to get to the happily ever after part. And when that didn’t happen, yeah, she felt cheated. Because a wedding day is just one day of your life, but the marriage, a chance to grow old with the person you love, that lasts a lifetime. Or it’s supposed to anyway.

Brook says, all the single ladies, come, and the women come to the dance floor. Gloria says, ladies, keep your head in the game, and Lois says, all right. Get ready. Brook throws her bouquet and Jordan catches it, but slides it into Violet’s hands like, oops. Violet jumps up and down, and everyone applauds. Olivia is running somewhere, when Ned grabs her and says he wanted to dance with his beautiful bride. She says she loves him. She wants to dance with him, but she’s got to check the Viennese table. He says, does she really? and she says, fine, and goes with him.

Jordan sees Drew getting ready to leave, and she says, going so soon? He says he’s got a big day ahead. Can he give her a ride? She says she’s going to stay a little longer, and he says, that’s too bad. He’s been meaning to tell her about his last conversation with McConkey. She says, please don’t tell her that he wants an entire pier to go with the esplanade, but Drew says, no. Let’s just say the congressman has given me a lot to think about. They’ll talk. He leaves, and she says, you tease.

Dex asks Gloria if she’d like a water, and hands her a glass. She says, thank you, young man. With all the excitement and the dancing and everything, her head was beginning to spin a little bit. What’s his name? He says he’s Dex Heller, and she asks how he knows her granddaughter and her new husband. He says he’s a cadet with the PCPD, and she says, he’s a policeman. His family must be so proud of him. They’re so pleased and thrilled to have Chase in their family. Sonny sees them and glowers, and Dex says, Chase is an exceptional officer. She says, then of course (🍷) he knows Dante, and he says, yes, ma’am. Gloria says, he’s the fifth cop in his generation on the Falconari side of the family, when Lois joins them. Gloria says, she knows Dex, and Lois says, mm-hmm. Gloria says, he saw that she was parched, and he brought a glass of water over to her, and Lois says, that was very thoughtful of him. She thanks Dex, and he says, no problem. Gloria says, and you know what else? Dex is at the police academy. Lois should introduce him to her cousin Lucia. If they were to marry, then there would be four cops on the Cerullo side. Lois says, Gloria just met the guy and she’s already marrying him. She tells Dex that she’s so sorry about her mother, but he says, not at all. Lois tells him, although she will say, he should meet Lucia. She’s a beautiful girl and also very smart. She has a degree in computer science, but no pressure though. No pressure at all. Dex laughs and Sonny stares daggers at him.

Jack takes the knife out of the towel again and takes a few deep breaths. He plunges the knife into his own side and falls to the floor. He pulls it out, puts it in the other inmate’s hand, and passes out.

Cody says he’s never really pondered the whole ever after thing. He makes sure the horses are healthy and cleans out their stalls. He lives day to day. Where he’s from, the whole long-term thing didn’t seem like a great option. Sasha says she gets that. When you marry someone you love, thinking long term is the default setting. Then when it’s cut short, you realize making big plans and relying on them happening sets you up for disappointment. He says, don’t get him wrong. Hoping for a future with the person you love doesn’t seem like a bad thing. It’s just in his personal experience, if you don’t plan too far ahead, it leaves you open for surprises. She says, like parachuting into the swimming pool, and he says, yeah, and like quitting your spokesmodel job because someone calls you too wholesome. She says, or finding your family even though you can’t tell them you’re a part of it, and he says, or this. Great wine, great food, great company… Hold that thought. He goes in the back and returns with a radio. He puts on some music, and says, may I have this dance? He holds out his hand and she takes it.

Sam says she remembers how much trouble Brook used to be, and Brook says, that’s why she married a cop. Needed an inside man. They laugh, and Sam says, that was good thinking. Brook says, she should try it sometime, and Maxie says, ooh. Sam jets, and they laugh. Spinelli tells Brook, congratulations, and leaves Brook and Maxie alone. Maxie says, believe it or not, she thinks she’s said all she has to say, and Brook says, and she heard it. Maxie says, she’s going to have the best life, and Brook says she just wishes she deserved it. Maxie asks what she’s talking about. Of course (🍷) she deserves it. That’s why it’s hers. They hug.

Willow and Michael join Josslyn and Dex, and Willow says, they saw the two of them on the dance floor. Nice moves. Michael says, it’s like Dex forgot Josslyn is his little sister and he’d do anything to protect her, and Josslyn says, that’s enough, thank you. Michael says, Dex knows he’s kidding. It’s a shame he’s not kidding. Dex picks something up off the floor and says he found someone’s hearing aid. Willow says, it’s probably Carmine’s, and Dex says he’s going to go find him then. Dex leaves, and Sonny follows him. Jason watches.

Patty tells Dante that he’s coming to the after-party. She won’t take no for an answer. Dante says he would love to go, but he has kids to tuck in, and… Sam says she thinks he should go, when Jordan joins them. Patty says, Deputy Mayor, are you coming? and Jordan says she’d love to, but she can’t. She has a city to… deputy run. Maxie says, don’t worry. She and Spinelli can drive Dante and Jordan to the after-party. Dante says he doesn’t want to go, and Jordan says she really can’t. Spinelli tells Dante, yes, you do, and Maxie tells Jordan, yeah, you can. Dante says, all right. They’ll meet Patty there. How’s that? Patty says she can’t wait, and leaves. Dante and Spinelli fist bump.

Chase says he can’t stop thanking Gregory, and Gregory says he’d do it again in a heartbeat. Chase tells Tracy, and thank you for… She says she certainly hopes he regrets arresting her, and he says he would do it again in a heartbeat. They all laugh, and Tracy says, good answer. She, Violet, Chase, and Gregory leave, and Finn thanks Elizabeth. She says, for what? and he says, everything. Always. They walk off hand in hand.

Dex looks around near the entrance, and Sonny pops out. He says, the Cerullos are his people. Is Dex enjoying himself, with Sonny’s people? Dex says he’s having a good time, a great time, and Sonny laughs. Sonny says, that’s the wrong answer. They’re like family to him. Stay away from his family. Dex says he was invited the same as Sonny, and Sonny says, he’s a snitch, a spy. He’s lucky to be breathing. Stay away from him and his, or Dex may not be breathing much longer. Sonny starts to walk away, and Dex puts his hand on Sonny’s arm, saying, he’s not Sonny’s enemy. Sonny punches him in the face, knocking him down.

Chase and Brook go to their room, where the fireplace is lit, and there’s a rose petal path from the door to the bed and rose petals on the bed. They close the door and lie down on the bed, fully clothed. Brook says, they did it. They tied the knot. They crossed the finish line. And he is her husband. He says, and she is his wife, and she says, wife, and kisses him. She says, now what? and he says, now, they have a great wedding night, followed by a great honeymoon in Florence. Then they spend the rest of their lives together. How does that sound? She says she’s so glad she hit him with that bottle, and he says he thought it was an accident. She says, that was no accident. That was luck. They kiss.

Natalia says she seems to have misplaced Kristina’s father, and Kristina says, sorry about that. Natalia says, uh-oh. What did she do to him? They laugh, and Kristina says she didn’t. He hasn’t seen his family in a long time, so he probably got caught up in telling stories from back in the day. Natalia says, that makes sense. She’s just ready to go up. Does Blaze want to ride up with her? Blaze says she’s not tired just yet, and Natalia asks if Kristina would tell her dad that she had a great time, thanks again, and have a really great evening. Kristina says, sure, and Natalia leaves. Kristina says, don’t judge her, but she kind of wants to get another piece of cake, and Blaze says, grab two and meet her in her room. Kristina says, done.

Cody and Sasha slow dance, looking into each other’s eyes, and she says she should probably go. The reception should be over, and Olivia and Tracy will be home soon. He says, she can’t keep them waiting, and she says she’s got an after-party to throw, so… she’s got to go. He says, okay. One more song.

Jack is wheeled into the hospital, and a doctor asks what they’ve got. The paramedic says, stab wound in the abdomen, BP 70 over 40, heart rate 130. He’s lost a lot of blood. The doctor says, let’s get him to trauma one.

Olivia is walking with Ned, when Anna runs out, calling her name. Olivia asks, what’s wrong? Who’s under arrest? They were so close. Anna says, no one’s under arrest. She just wanted to say it was a great party. Olivia blesses herself and say, thank God. It’s always good when a wedding is over and no one’s incarcerated. Ned says he’s just glad when a wedding happens at all, and Anna says, it was lovely. Congratulations. Thank you. They all say, goodnight, and Ned and Olivia continue on. Anna’s phone rings, and she says, Devane… Where’s Brennan now?… Okay. She’s on her way.

Michael asks if they can give Josslyn a lift, but she says, no. She thinks she’s okay actually. Thank you though. Michael says, is she sure… Willow says she’s sure Joss can make her own arrangements, and Josslyn smiles. Michael says, why should she… and Willow says, okay. They’re leaving. Have a fun rest of her night. Josslyn thanks her and says, them too, and they leave.

Sonny throws Dex up against the wall and punches him again, Dex’s face already bloody. Dex doesn’t fight back, but puts his hands up defensively, and Sonny throws him to the floor. Sonny says, you know what I do to traitors? and kicks Dex in the stomach as he’s trying to get up. Come on. Jason races in and grabs Sonny from behind. Sonny says, let go of him, but Jason says, no and tells Dex, get out of here. Sonny says he’s going to kill them both. They’re both dead to him. He’s going to put a gun to their heads. Kristina comes in and drops the plates of cake she’s holding. She and Sonny lock eyes.

On Monday, Chase says, whatever his beautiful wife wants; Gregory wants to clear the air about something with Finn; Anna says, Brennan is never more dangerous than when he appears harmless; and Blaze asks if Kristina wants to go to the hospital. She’d better not lose this baby because of Sonny. I’ll never forgive him.

The cast just wants a Reunion so they can snipe at each other about what they now know happened during the season. I watched a few episodes, then some shiny new shows caught my attention, but I’ll be back.

🩰 Short Answer: They Don’t Like You…

Probably no one would do it if she came. I understand about dance teachers being kind of mean, but they scream at you about things like your form. This woman got weirdly personal with everyone, like she was a teenager with issues.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

At the Port Charles Heliport, jump instructor Denice tells Gregory that they have to get going before the sun goes down. Otherwise, they’ll have to cancel the jump. Is she coming? People cancel all the time. Gregory says, she’ll be here, and a man says, they’re losing daylight, when Alexis comes running up. She says she’s here, and the man asks if they’re doing this. She says, yes. She’s a woman of her word. She’s doing it. Even if it kills her.

Spencer knocks on Trina’s dorm room door, and she answers wearing a robe. He says, she’s not dressed for a party, and she brings him in, kissing him. He says, good point. What party? She says, they’re going. She just needs two more minutes. He says, that’s a big ask, and she says she’s sure he’ll be fine. Entertain himself. He picks up a magazine and flips through it, then sees a letter that’s been opened. Trina asks if he can zip her up, and he says, of course (🍷). If he must. She turns around, and he says, she looks perfect. So who is writing her from the Sorbonne? She says, he wasn’t supposed to see that.

Esme waits in the visitor room at Pentenville (?). Heather – our New Year’s gift! – joins her and says she knew Esme would be back.

Sonny goes to Nina’s office, and says, the party’s about to start, but she says she has to get these end-of-the-year bonuses done. She’s so sorry. It’s just a magazine; business is very difficult. Their team managed to keep their numbers up with online revenue, and she needs to show them that she appreciates them. He says, they’re lucky to have a kind-hearted boss, and she says she thinks he’s a teensy bit biased in her favor. He says he’s finding out what it means to be married to a generous, thoughtful woman, even though he’s not sure what her priority is tonight.

On the phone at The Savoy, Carly tells Sam, it’s okay. The flu is going around. Just give her love to Scout, and she and Dante take care. And happy New Year. Michael joins her, apologizing for being late, but she says, that’s okay. Where’s Willow? He says, she got stuck covering at GH. There’s a lot of callouts. Carly says, it’s the flu. Sam just called. Scout has it, and she and Dante can’t make it. He says, that’s unfortunate. So… She says, it looks like it’s just the two of them.

Olivia comes in with Lois and Ned, and she asks if it reminds Lois… What’s that place in the city they used to sneak in… Lois says, Area on Barrett Street. She can see the resemblance. Ned tells them to get a table while he gets the drinks. What would they like? Olivia says she’s a Cosmo girl tonight, and Lois says, champagne for her.

Carly says, it’s already New Year’s in Australia, and Michael says, it’s a shame Drew’s trip got extended. She should be celebrating with Drew, not him. She says, what about him? Willow’s at work. He’s spending New Year’s with his mother. They’re a pathetic pair, huh? He asks if she wants more champagne, and she says, yes, so he leaves to get it. She gets up and calls, make it a prosecco, please, when Ned passes by. She says she’s been waiting to talk to him, but he says he really doesn’t have time for this. She asks if he’s been busy since he got his memory back. Because ever since he pointed the SEC at her and Drew, and Drew went to prison, she’s been meaning to ask him a question. How would he like her to return the favor?

Nina says, Sonny is her priority – always. She promises she’ll hurry up and meet him way before midnight. He says, don’t worry about it. He was just being sentimental. She says, of course (🍷). It’s their first New Year’s Eve together as husband and wife. She wants to be with him too. She’ll leave this here and come in early tomorrow. He says, no. She’s going to wrap that up and she’s going to meet him at The Savoy. They’re going to have a midnight kiss… They’re going to have so many New Year’s Eves together. She says she likes the sound of that, and they kiss.

Heather says she knew Esme wouldn’t be able to stay away from her forever, but why is it today? Doesn’t she have plans for New Year’s Eve? Esme says, not really, and Heather says, there’s something different about her. Did she change her hair? Esme says, no, and Heather says, well, something’s different. Anyway, how’s her little grandbaby Ace? Baby’s first Christmas. She bets he got loaded up with presents from all those rich people, right? Esme says, probably. She doesn’t know. He spent the holidays with Spencer and Trina. Heather says, she’s always been cagey on the details when it comes to Ace. Now Esme is telling her that she let him spend his first Christmas without her? And that look just now on her face when she said Trina’s name. That’s not remorse. That was contempt… Oh, she remembers, doesn’t she?

Trina tells Spencer that one of her professors told her about this art program at the Sorbonne, and she just applied on a whim. She got waitlisted, then she got accepted. Let her just grab her bag. He says, wait a minute. This is a massive opportunity for her. She says she knows, but she can’t go. Not with Curtis about to start his treatment, and she’s really excited about her spring classes, and then there’s him. She’d miss him so much. He says, he’s going to miss her too (um… it’s not like he has a job; he could go), and she says she can travel when she graduates. Paris will always be there. She can wait. He says, this opportunity at the Sorbonne won’t be. She has to go. She has to do this.

Denice says, since this is a tandem dive, Gregory and Alexis will each share a harness with their instructor, and the instructor will release the parachute. Any questions so far? They need to get going. Alexis says she has a question. Did Gregory tell them about his recent stay in the hospital? Gregory says he did, and his doctor signed off on this. It was pure dehydration, that’s all. Alexis tells Denice that she’s done an extensive search on Denice’s safety records with this organization. Alexis knows pretty much all there is to know about her, but she doesn’t know much about the harness. Is it safe, and when was the plane last serviced? Denice promises to answer those questions on the way to the plane, but Alexis tells her that she just wants to say, the gentleman who showed her how to do everything seems very nice and very capable, and she thinks she’ll be safe enough with him. Denice says, that was Dan. He’s gone for the day. Alexis will be fine with Falcon. There he is. Falcon looks like the drummer in a rock band, and Alexis says, no. Gregory says, why don’t they switch? She’s already familiar with Denice. They’ll be fine. Alexis says, no. She’s sorry. Every molecule in her being is telling her not to jump out of that plane. Please forgive her. She said she could do it, but she can’t. She just can’t.

There’s a knock at Nina’s office door, and she says, come on, Sonny. She needs more time than that. She’s not a miracle worker. Cyrus walks in, and says, oh ye of little faith.

Olivia asks Lois, what was the name of that Russian place in Brighton Beach? Talk about dicey. Good vodka though. Hello? Is she talking to herself over here? Lois says, Olivia might have a problem, and Olivia tells her to forget about the secret and just have some fun, but Lois says, no. Look. They see Ned and Carly arguing.

Ned says, Carly wants to send him to prison? Take her best shot. Except he didn’t actually commit a crime, unlike her and Drew. She says, Drew was nearly beaten to death in prison, because of Ned. Ned has to live with that, but if he doesn’t care about that, maybe he cares about his precious company. Valentin Cassadine is MIA. Ned had amnesia, thinking he was some faded rock star. Maybe ELQ deserves a visit from the SEC. He says he doesn’t have to take this. She wants the truth? He’ll tell her exactly why Drew was sent to Pentenville. Michael arrives with the drinks.

Esme asks how Heather could tell just like that, and Heather says she’s been studying Esme since the first moment she laid eyes on her in Spring Ridge. She knows Esme’s face. She knows Esme’s mannerisms. Esme used to look so lost, but just now, she saw something in Esme’s eyes, a glint, a sense of purpose. It’s nice to meet the real Esme. She pats Esme’s hand, and Esme flinches. Heather says she didn’t mean to upset her. It’s a good thing. Esme says she’s just glad to be able to talk to someone about it, and Heather says, Esme has her. Trust her. Pour her heart out. Esme cries a little and says, it’s like she’s two different people. She doesn’t know what to do or what to think. Is she this horrible person who did these things to Spencer and Trina, or is she this mom who loves her son more than anything in the world? And she doesn’t know how she can be both. Heather says, everything’s going to be okay. Does Esme know how she knows? Because Esme did the right thing. She came to see her mother.

Spencer says, there’s so much for Trina to do in Paris when she’s not studying at the Sorbonne. It’s one of his all-time favorite cities, and the best part is that she’s in close proximity to so many other great cities. She’s next to Berlin, Copenhagen, Barcelona… It’s a train ride for her. She says, yeah, but she doesn’t have a command of the language, and he says, it’s not going to be a thing after the first semester. She’s going to be the toast of the town. Every guy is going to falling head over heels for her. Is she kidding him? As a matter of fact, why is he encouraging her to do this? Maybe she should stay. Never mind. Bad idea. She says, you know what could work? He could come with her.

Nina asks what Cyrus is doing here. Does he need something? He says, it’s not what he needs. He’s here to help her. She says she’s fine, and she’s very busy, so if he needs to talk to her for some reason, he should talk to her assistant, and she’ll set up… He picks up a magazine and says, isn’t it amazing how they distract themselves with the mundane in order not to ponder the great mysteries of life? Taking the magazine, Nina says, if they just sat around pondering that, they wouldn’t get anything done. So like she said, she’s busy. He says, very well. He’ll leave her to her work, but remember, she doesn’t walk alone. She flashes back to being in the confessional, and the priest saying, and remember, she doesn’t walk alone. God is always with her. Cyrus says, so, has she set herself free? and Nina looks like she might have a stroke.

Michael asks Ned, so what is the truth? Why exactly did he get himself involved, and more importantly, what exactly did he get out of it? Ned flashes back to Michael giving him the voting proxy on half of Michael’s ELQ shares for keeping his silence about Nina. At the table, Lois looks at Olivia, when Sonny walks in. Ned says, only the satisfaction of being a good citizen. He was looking out for the little guy. Carly says, come on. He was looking out for himself. He wanted power, and he didn’t care who he had to hurt to get it. Ned asks Carly, if he’s such a menace, why is she provoking him? and Michael says, watch it, but Carly says, don’t stop him. What is he going to do to her? Sonny walks up and asks if Ned doesn’t think he’s caused enough damage.

Lois says, great, now Sonny’s involved, and Olivia says, Lois told her that she wanted to stay out of the Quartermaine’s affairs, so why doesn’t she do that? Lois says, because she hates seeing Ned being called out in public for something he didn’t do, and Olivia says, it’s complicated. Lois doesn’t understand. Ned is doing what he thinks he has to do for the family. Could she please just accept that and move on?

Ned says, Sonny is going to lecture him about damage? The man who’s left a swath of broken lives and destruction in his wake? Michael says, this isn’t the time or place. They don’t want to make a scene. Can they all agree on that? Sonny says he’s good, and Michael suggests he and Ned talk in private. They leave, and Sonny asks if Carly is okay. She says she was. Now she’s not so sure.

Lois asks if that looks like positive momentum to Olivia? How is it that another war between the Corinthos and Quartermaine families better than the truth?

Gregory tells Alexis that he’s sorry. He thought this would be fun. She shouldn’t feel obligated to do something she doesn’t want to do. He tells the instructors, thanks. He appreciates the prep and the time, but he’s calling off the jump. Falcon says, it’s all right, but Alexis says, no, it’s not all right. Hold on. Don’t go anywhere. She tells Gregory that she’s all over the place. It’s not even just the jump. It’s the girls. She’s worried. She just has a lot on her mind. Does he think they could talk by themselves, just for a minute? Gregory asks if they can be given one more minute and gets the okay signal from Falcon. Gregory asks, what’s going on? and Alexis says, it’s the girls. She’s worried. There’s been a new development. Sam is savvy. If Alexis dies, she’ll be fine, but Kristina and Molly, no. They cannot exist without her. They need their mother. They need her to protect them. He says, so she wants to protect her kids and keep them from getting hurt if they jump, but they’re adults. And as adults, they can choose when and if they jump, and if they do, they’re going to have to pull their own ripcords. She says, did he just do a skydiving analogy? It was good. He says, letting their kids go is the ultimate test. He tried to shield Chase from his illness with disastrous results. Remember? But Chase forgave him. Their kids are full of surprises. They never know what they’ll become or what they’re capable of. He has to believe his kids are going to grow and learn and thrive and make mistakes, but survive. And that belief, that faith, gives him great comfort, and great courage. Alexis says, Denice, Marlon… Gregory says, Falcon, and she says, Falcon, let’s get a move on. Gregory asks if she’s sure, and Alexis says she’s sure… No, she’s not sure, but she said she was going to jump out of the damn plane, so she’s going to jump out of the damn plane. Damn it. They head to the damn plane.

Heather asks if anyone else knows about Esme’s memory coming back, and Esme says, not really. She tried telling… Heather says, but she didn’t, and Esme says, no, but… Heather says, absolutely not. Zip it and keep it zipped. Esme asks how she can go one pretending that she doesn’t remember anything, and Heather says, she inherited the familial talent for misdirection. Besides, she’s done it before. Esme says, but not like this. Pretending she’s sorry for all the bad things the old Esme did. Heather says, and she really doesn’t feel bad about it, and Esme says she did. When she didn’t remember any of it, it was horrifying. But now that she remembers why she did it and felt so justified, it’s because it was justified. Heather says, exactly. So just keep telling them exactly what they want to hear. She’s made a fresh start and now she’s a different person. Esme asks where that gets her. She’s still a single mom, Alexis Davis’s drudge, and a witness to Spencer and Trina’s insipid happily ever after. And she’s unable to do a thing about it. Heather smiles. (Just for the record, although I’m thrilled with the visit to Heather, I’m not loving Esme’s 180. Or is it really a 360?)

Trina says she knows Spencer can’t come with her, but when she opened it, she started daydreaming about how amazing it would be if they could be together. But she knows he can’t leave Ace, so just forget she said it. He says, she knows how much he loves her, and he’d never want her to think he’s prioritizing Ace over her. She says she doesn’t, and he says, but Esme’s moved out and she’s Ace’s primary caregiver. Maybe they can find a way. He can fly back on weekends as long as Esme will let him see Ace. She says, wait a minute. What is he saying? He tells her that he’s saying, when the woman you love invites you to go to Paris, you say yes. They kiss.

Nina says, Cyrus was at All Saints. That’s just so wrong. He’s not a priest. She doesn’t know what he thinks he heard… He says, more than enough. He and Drew Cain became friendly when they were Pentenville. Drew saved his life actually, and after Drew was attacked, he was able to return the favor. Drew had a very hard time inside. All he wanted to do was get back to the woman he loved, the woman he sacrificed his freedom for. Carly Spencer, formerly Carly Corinthos, her husband’s ex-wife, the mother of his children. She says, he’s a hypocrite. He listened to her confession? How could he be so dishonest? She thought she was talking to a man of God. He says, she was. Just as she is now. So how can he help her?

Sonny asks if Carly wants to tell him what that was all about, and Carly says she told Ned what she thought about him, for obvious reasons. Sonny says, good. Now it’s his turn. Carly stops him, and says, he’s not worth it. And she needs something stronger than this. She picks up her champagne glass and heads for the bar.

In the hallway, Ned tells Michael, it’s New Year’s Eve. He doesn’t want to talk about it. Sonny comes by and tells Ned, it’s not over between them, then disappears. Michael says, they had an agreement.

Lois tells Olivia, if Sonny thinks Ned harmed Carly, he’s not going to let it go. He’s going to finish it. Now what’s going on with those two? They look over to see Michael and Ned talking, and Olivia says, probably talking about ELQ. Lois says she thought Michael was trying to push Ned out, but Olivia says, quite the opposite. Ned has been taking on more responsibility. Michael’s even given him his proxy. It’s all good. Lois says, wait a second. Michael handed over his control of ELQ? Why would he do that? Olivia asks why she cares. She swears Lois always does this. She gets something in her head, and she can’t leave it alone. Like the time Lois’s mother was planning a surprise party for her for months and she ruined it. Lois says, okay. Let her think. Did Michael do this to keep Ned quiet? Because it must be something big… Ooh. Oh my God. Did Michael turn his own mother in to the SEC?

Sonny tells Carly that he’s sorry. He had to interfere. He just doesn’t like Ned treating her like that. He knows she can hold her own, but… She says, that’s okay. She needed the distraction. It stopped her from throwing her drink in Ned’s face. That would have been a perfect ending to a perfect year, right? He says, the night’s still young, and she says, not for her. She’s going to go. Will he tell Michael that she left and have a happy New Year? He says, she’s not going to stay for the countdown? Come on. She says, it’s going to make her miss Drew even more, so have a happy New Year. She leaves.

Olivia tells Lois, no. Michael did not turn his own mother in to the SEC. Lois says, then make it make sense. Why would Michael hand over control of ELQ to Ned? Does Tracy have something on Michael? Or are Ned and Tracy planning something? Olivia says, stop this. Stop overthinking it. Just let it go. Lois says she can’t, because it stinks to high heaven. But Olivia was right about one thing. She is overthinking this. She thinks the answer is right here in front of her face. And here’s what she thinks. She thinks Ned has something on Michael, and Michael is paying off Ned to keep him quiet. Is she right?

Nina asks what Cyrus wants. Money? He laughs and says, of course (🍷). No, he doesn’t need money. He has the riches of the kingdom of God. What he wants is for her to confess. Not to a priest in a cubicle, but to the people she hurt. She says, what good would that do? Drew is free, Carly is moving on, the Corinthos family is coming together. What good would it do dredging up the past? He says, did she or did she not send a good man to prison? Where he was beaten to a pulp. Did she or did she not try to separate a mother from her children and separate a man from his child, all out of spite and wickedness. She tells him, cut the sermon. Please. He’s more a man of the orange jumpsuit than a man of the cloth (ha-ha-ha!). He’s a criminal, a blackmailer, so what’s his angle? What is he planning to do with what he knows?

Basking in the afterglow, Spencer says, there’s a church over there that he and Trina should go to. It’s got a little walled-off garden next to it, then down the street, there’s this really quaint and cute restaurant. It makes the best crepes she’s ever had in her life. They’re simple, but they’re very delicious. He thinks she’ll like them. She says, sounds like heaven, but it’s one thing to daydream and another to live in reality. Maybe he should think about this. He says, no. They’re doing this. This is happening. He’s not letting them back out of this. She says, okay, and he says, because he was in Europe once and when he was, it was very, very lonely and depressing. So hopefully, this will give him a new opportunity or new chance to experience it with fresh eyes with someone he loves. So he doesn’t need any time to think about it. He knows exactly what he wants. He wants to be in Paris with her. She kisses him, and he says, fireworks. She says, he got that right… but he says, no, the real ones up there. They can make it if they hurry. He jumps out of bed.

Heather tells Esme, forget those twerps. She was always way too good for Spencer anyway. She won. She got Ace, and that’s everything. She’s still got the upper hand, so don’t blow it by admitting she got her memory back. She’s a really good mother to Ace, right? Esme says, yeah, she is, and Heather says, then just keep up the charade, for his sake. And be sure to practice a little self-care. Esme says, what? Like a spa day? Heather says, no. Like she’s young. She’s beautiful. Smart as a friggin’ whip. Go put on a party dress and get out there. Maybe she’ll meet somebody new. It’s New Year’s Eve. Meet somebody who’s worthy of her. Come and see her mother again. She’ll help Esme keep her head on straight. Keep her memories to herself. As much as she’d like to see more of Esme, she has way too bright of a future to squander it in this place. Esme takes Heather’s hands and says she will, and thanks her. Heather says, anytime. It was a pleasure to finally meet her daughter… all of her.

Ned says he and Michael may need to revisit the terms of their agreement if Carly’s going to start harassing him in public. Michael says, Ned is being well-compensated for his trouble. Michael’s proxy gives him controlling interest of ELQ. If that’s not good enough for him, he’ll go get Willow. Because she deserves to hear the truth about Nina before Ned announces it to the entire world. Ned says, you’re bluffing, and Michael says, try me.

Lois says, what on earth could Ned have on Michael that would make him give up control of ELQ? and Olivia shushes her and says, stop it. She calls over to Sonny, and he joins them. He says, you ladies look marvelous, and Lois thanks him. They hug, and Sonny kisses Olivia on the cheek. She says, he’s looking handsome as always. Where’s Nina this evening? He says, she’s working. She said she’ll be here by midnight. Lois says, no. He has to get her here, because the person you kiss at midnight is the person you’ll be with for the rest of the year.😱 He says, in that case, he should call and see what’s going on. He excuses himself, and leaves. Lois says, ho-ho. Like she said. Right in front of her face. It was never about Drew getting in trouble with the Feds. The intended target was always Carly. Olivia says, Lois… Lois says, Carly, who acted on inside information. So whoever tipped off the SEC had to believe that Carly would be the one who would wind up in prison. And who had the incentive of getting rid of Carly. How about the person who is currently married to her ex-husband? Nina. Nina’s the one who tipped off the SEC. Olivia looks worn-out, but Lois breathes a sigh of relief and drinks some champagne.

Out in the middle of somewhere, Alexis tells Falcon that her heart is still beating outside her chest. Will it stop? Will it be regulated? Or did she live so that she can die now? He says, probably. Pretty rad, huh? They do a fancy handshake, and Falcon starts to walk away. She asks, where’s Gregory? Did he jump? Is he dead? Falcon leaves, and Alexis calls to Gregory. Gregory says he’s here. Sorry he’s late. Traffic. She hugs him, and he says, easy does it. She says she loved it, and he laughs. She says, it was amazing. Soaring through the sky and the perspective that she saw of the world looking down. It was so beautiful. It was amazing. It was extraordinary. It was transformative. It was probably the most transformative moment of her… He kisses her. Then she kisses him.

Carly walks into Sonny’s old kitchen and throws her bag on the counter, knowing she’s never alone when the moss bowl🎍is there. She goes to the sink and is startled by an air horn. She moves toward the door, when Drew comes in. He says, happy New Year, and she runs into his arms. She says, it is now, and they kiss.

Nina asks what Cyrus is planning to do with this information, but he says, nothing. She says, so he doesn’t want anything in exchange for him keeping quiet, and he says he’ll settle for her redemption. She asks if he knows that Carly and Drew aren’t the only injured parties here. She almost lost the only daughter she had left before she even knew she was her daughter. He tells her, look at what a tangled web she’s woven. Did she really think it would never unravel? The guilt is already weighing on her and pulling her down closer to the gates of hell. Hell is a state of mind. It robs you of your peace and your chance to experience real joy. All this bartering and deal making to avoid telling the truth. She asks why he’s here. He doesn’t know her. He doesn’t give a damn about her. He says he’s been her. He’s justified his lies, and it only makes for more lies and moving further away from everything that matters. That’s why he tries only to tell the truth now. She tells him, so this is his way of saying, if she doesn’t confess, he will, and he says, karma, fate, providence, they all point to the same thing. That is, your actions determine your life’s destiny. Just think of all the hurt she can undo with just a few simple words. All the clarity she can give to Carly and Drew and her husband, Sonny Corinthos. Nina’s phone rings and she sees it’s Sonny. She picks up the phone, looking pained.

Olivia says she’s begging Lois, please do not say a word about this to anyone. Lois says, how could she not have told Sonny this? Nina, his wife, called the cops on Carly and Drew. Why hasn’t Ned said anything? Olivia says, because he knows how many people would be hurt if he did. Sonny is happy with Nina. Nina and Carly have a truce off sorts. Drew is out of prison and his life is back to normal. What good could it possibly do to dredge all this up again? Ned comes back and asks if Olivia is ready to go. Olivia says, they’re in the middle of a conversation here, and Ned says, let’s take that conversation on their way to the docks. They’ve got fireworks. Lois says she’ll meet them out there. She’s going to powder her nose. Ned says, see her over there, and steers Olivia out. Sonny comes over to Lois and says, he left a message for Nina. She’s going to meet them. Does Lois want to walk with him over to the docks? She say she’s sorry, but he’s going to miss the fireworks this year.

Drew and Carly kiss their way into the bedroom as the fireworks go off. The real ones, outside. They get busy.

Gregory and Alexis smile at each other and look up at the sky. She puts her head on his shoulder.

Spencer and Trina watch from the rooftop. He says he’d follow her anywhere. Esme watches from behind them, her hand balled into a fist.

Cyrus says, Nina didn’t answer her call, and she says she should have handed him the phone. It was Sonny. He says he won’t tell Sonny. He wouldn’t want to rob her for her chance at salvation. She has to confess; no one can do it for her. She says she didn’t want him to know. It’s going to hurt him. She prayed that he would never, never know. He says, try praying for the truth to set her free, and she says, if anyone should tell Sonny, it should be her. He says, that’s right. That’s good. That’s all he wanted to hear. New year, new beginnings. He says he has faith that she’ll do the right thing. Until then, he won’t be far.

Sonny asks if Lois has something on her mind, and she says, he has a right to know what’s going on. He says, get to the point, and she says, they’re lying to him. He says, who? and she says, his family. They’re all lying to him.

Next week, Carly says, this is gonna be a good year; Olivia tells Ned, get back there, now; Brook tells Chase, better to ask for forgiveness than ask for permission; Willow asks for Nina’s help; and Lois tells Sonny that she knows who really ratted Carly and Drew out to the SEC.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Sonny says, to protecting our own, and clinks glasses with Nina and Ava. He asks Austin, what’s wrong? Does he have a problem with the toast?

As the doctor pokes at Curtis’s legs, TJ asks what he feels, but Curtis says he doesn’t feel a thing. He can’t feel anything. None of them seem surprised that he can’t feel his legs. Will somebody tell him what the hell is going on? He shouts, what’s going on?!

Diane walks into the hospital on the phone, and says she’s literally walking in the door… Don’t worry. She’ll find Sasha and take care of everything. Leaning on the counter, Robert says, everything? That’s a tall order, even for Killer Miller.

Sasha is wheeled out of the elevator, and Gladys says, she’s going to get better. She knows it doesn’t look like it, but she promises to do everything she can to get Sasha all the help she needs. Dr. Montague comes out and says he knows how upsetting this must be for Gladys, but he’s here now. He asks if Sasha remembers him. He’s Dr. Montague, and he’s here to help her. She says, help her? and he says, she’s not herself right now, but he promises she will be soon. He’ll make sure of that. He asks the officer to take Sasha to the exam room, and the officer leaves with Sasha. Gladys says, he never told her that Sasha would get this bad, but Montague says, her daughter-in-law is much worse off than she led him to believe. Gladys asks what he gave her. She hurt somebody. It’s lucky she didn’t kill him. And she’s in so much pain now. She never meant for Sasha to suffer… He says, shut up. They both know what she meant to happen. She did her part; now he’ll do his. He goes into the exam room, and closes the door. Gladys looks at Sasha through the window, and Montague closes the blinds.

Carly visits Drew in Pentenville, and says she knows she promised she wouldn’t visit so soon, but he says he’s glad she did. She says she knows he wanted to feel more settled, but she had to see him. She misses him so much. He says he misses her, and she says, here she is. He says, she looks so beautiful, even in a place like this, and she says, she talked to Sam. Scout’s determined to visit him ASAP. He says, she knows how Scout is when she sets her mind to something; you can’t change it. The last time he was locked in a cell, he etched her name in the wall, and that’s what kept him alive, but now he has so much more to live for. She says, this place is better than Crete, right? and he flashes back to Cyrus giving him a Bible with a screwdriver in it. Carly asks, what’s wrong?

At the pool, Dex tells Josslyn, other people were at the pool when the shooting happened. Anna Devane for one, and the police are even certain Curtis wasn’t the target. She says she’s certain. Curtis was in the wrong place at the wrong time. The bullet was meant for Sonny. It could have been Dex. He says, no, but she says, he already got shot working for Sonny. What’s to say it won’t happen again? He says, because now he has more to live for. He’s never loved anyone as much as he loves her. He’s not going to give that up. They kiss.

TJ says, Curtis has every right to be concerned, and Portia says, TJ is right, but he doesn’t want to put too much stress on himself right now. That’s going to make it… Curtis says, stop. He can’t feel his legs. He needs them to stop talking to him like family. They’re doctors and he’s a patient. Why can’t he feel his legs? Dr. Barnsdall says he understands why Curtis is so concerned, but he’s just come through very extensive spinal surgery. Curtis is lucky to be alive. The bullet fragments he removed were lodged very close to Curtis’s spine. He was under very heavy sedation during the procedure. Every patient’s body reacts differently when that wears off. Curtis says, so the anesthesia is why he can’t feel his legs? and the doctor says, that’s one of the possibilities. Curtis says, cut it to him straight. What are the other possibilities? Dr. Barnsdall says he still needs to look at some of the other tests and scans they took after the surgery, and then he’ll better be able to answer some of Curtis’s questions. He’ll leave Curtis with his family now. The doctor leaves with the nurse, and TJ asks if Curtis heard what Dr. Barnsdall said. Very few people would have even survived that surgery. Portia says, if Aunt Stella were here, she thinks Stella would call it a miracle, and Curtis says, a miracle.

Diane tells Robert that she’s here to see her client Sasha Gilmore. Yes, she knows Sasha was recently represented by Martin Grey, but he asked her to take over when he was called away. He asks if Martin is going to be back, and she says, he is, but Maxie felt Sasha needed… He says, a killer shark, but she says, compassion and complete dedication. She will take care of everything. She knows why he’s here, and no, he won’t interrogate her client in her current state.

Gladys tells the guard that her daughter-in-law is not a criminal. He saw how gentle she was. She just needs a little psychological help, that’s all. He looks straight ahead like a guard at Buckingham Palace, and she says, oh God, and walks away.

Sasha says she knows he’s Dr. Montague, and he says, very good. Does she know why she’s here? She says, for more of those pills he gave her? but he says, no. Those pills would have helped her, but he warned her not to take too many. She says she only took three pills a day like he told her, and as he prepares a syringe, she notices blood on her clothes. He says, soon, all of her questions will be answered, and she sees the syringe. She asks, what’s that? No. He gives her the shot.

Austin says he really respects Sonny. Sonny is a powerful man and puts such a high value on family. Sonny says, nothing more important than family, and Austin says, absolutely. Let him try to put Sonny’s mind at ease. He hasn’t spent a lot of time with Avery, but the little time he’s spent with her, she’s lovely. He thinks she looks at him and sees him as not just her mom’s friend, but maybe her friend as well. Sonny says, Avery sees the good in everybody, and Austin says, that’s wonderful. He wonders if she got that from Ava, or is it a trait she inherited from Sonny? Sonny says he always gives people another chance, and Austin says, just the one? What happens when people disappoint him? Sonny asks, what happens when Austin loses a patient? and Austin says he thinks he can speak for every doctor in the world when he says, it’s hard to lose a patient. Sonny says, you’ve just got to move forward. It’s sad, but some people are beyond helping. You’ve just got to move on.

Portia says, please talk to them, and Curtis says he understands what the doctor was saying. He’s lucky to be alive, and he’s grateful for everything everyone at the hospital has done for him. But he wants to walk out of the hospital on his own, and that’s not going to happen. TJ tells him, that’s not what Dr. Barnsdall said, and Curtis says, yet. Portia says, no one can walk right after spinal surgery, and TJ says, Portia’s right. People going through the same kind of surgery, it can take weeks before they can walk. Curtis asks, how long before they can feel their legs again? when TJ gets paged, and Curtis tells him to go. He knows TJ has a job to do. TJ says he’ll be back as soon as he can, and leaves. Portia takes Curtis’s hand, and says, it’s going to be okay, and he says, yes, it will. As soon as he gets his life back. All of it.

Robert says he takes no pleasure in Sasha’s current predicament, but Cody Bell’s the real victim here, and Diane says, come on. They both know there was no intent. Sasha never meant to hurt the guy. He says, she stabbed him with a paring knife, and Diane says, it’s well-documented that Sasha hasn’t been herself since losing her baby and her husband. And might she point out, Heather Webber killed Sasha’s husband and came perilously close to killing yours truly, so she would think he’d have more… He says he’s not there to persecute her client, and she says, good. Why is he here? He says, after Maxie spoke to her, she called her Uncle Robert. She says, so Maxie asked him to look out for Sasha to make sure she was treated fairly, and he says, who’d have thunk it? Her and him on the same team. They get into the elevator together, and bump shoulders.

Sasha scrubs at the blood, and says she can’t get this off, but Montague says, don’t worry about that. He sets up a recorder, and says, they’ll take care of that later. Now tell him what she remembers. She says, there was a pool, and he says, what happened at the pool? She says, Gladys was there… and he grabbed her by the wrist. She flashes back to seeing Cyrus grab Gladys, and tells Montague, she saw him. He tried to ruin her life. He gave her drugs. Montague asks who she thinks she saw at the pool, and she says she knows she saw him. He grabbed Gladys and she knew she had to stop him. She had to stop Cyrus Renault.

Carly says she doesn’t understand. Cyrus is a murderer. She assumed Drew would be separated from people like him. Where did Drew run into him? Drew says, Cyrus found him. Cyrus wants to make him a fisher of men. She says, Cyrus Renault? and he says, what good is a messiah complex without disciples he’s recruiting? She asks if he told Cyrus to go to hell. Better yet, he has to tell the guards. They don’t know what kind of sick game Cyrus is playing, but Drew has to stay away from him. Drew doesn’t want to get on his bad side. He says she doesn’t have to worry about him, but she says, he just told her some maniac has him in their sights, and he doesn’t want her worrying about him? He says he’s got this; he can take care of himself. Cyrus knows not to make a move on him. She says she knows all the training he’s had, but he doesn’t know how many men Cyrus has under his control. He can’t fight everyone. He says, it’s okay, but she says, it’s not okay. He says, it’s taken care of, and she says, how, and by whom? He says, her ex-husband.

Ava says, Sonny is incorrigible, and tells Austin that his bark is far worse than his bite. Sonny says, the doctor knows he was joking, right? and they all laugh. Austin’s phone rings, and he asks them to excuse him. Sonny asks if there’s a problem, but Austin says, occupational hazard. He’ll be right back. He leaves, and Ava says, all right. Nina says, don’t get her wrong. Austin is awkward, but very nice and there’s some kind of chemistry there, but as a couple, she doesn’t really see it. I’m glad she said it, since I’ve been thinking it.

Outside on the phone, Austin tells someone, you could say that. It was super awkward. A lunatic walks into a restaurant and he’s with Sonny Corinthos. Not great. He guesses the question is, what’s Mason going to do about it?

TJ asks if Dr. Barnsdall reviewed all of Curtis’s latest test results, and the doctor says he did, and the final scans they took after Curtis’s surgery. TJ says, will his uncle ever be able to walk again?

Carly says, Sonny has people watching Drew’s back, and Drew says, she doesn’t sound completely surprised. She says, vintage Sonny, and Drew says, to protect him? She says, Sonny knows he’s a good guy, and deep down he knows Drew is good for her. She and Sonny will always be family, and at the end of the day, nothing’s more important to Sonny than family. He asks if this is Sonny’s way of welcoming him into the family, and she laughs, saying, she wouldn’t go that far. She just wants him to come home. Nothing’s more important. He says he’s working on it. So what else is going on? She says, Willow came home, and he says, that’s great. She says, the only reason Willow is okay is because he rescued Liesl. The only reason Willow’s okay is because of him. He says he’s just happy she’s home where she belongs. Are they planning a big party at the house for her already?… What’s going on? Carly says, nothing, but he says he knows her. He loves her. Tell him what it is.

Portia says, what Curtis needs right now is rest, and she’ll be right back. He doesn’t let go of her hand, and says, what he needs is her here. He also needs to tell her something before the doctor gets back. She says, they’ll have plenty of time to talk later, but he says, she’s wrong. Time is the one thing we’re never sure we have. When he came to find her at the pool, he’d just had a conversation with Sam, and she said something he didn’t think was important at the time. And now, he can’t forget it. Portia asks what she said, and he tells her, she said, you never have enough time with the people you love, and she’s right. He realized how much time he was wasting and came to find her. He’s not sorry he went to the pool looking for her, but he’s sorry he didn’t get to say what he wanted to say.

Robert and Diane come out of the elevator, and Gladys says, her daughter-in-law is in no condition to be hounded by lawyers right now. Diane says, Gladys might be Sasha’s guardian, but she’s not Sasha’s gatekeeper. She’s assuming Sasha is in the exam room. Gladys says, she’s getting the treatment she needs from her shrink, and Robert says, he’ll handle this. He goes over to the guard, and Gladys says she’s sure Diane means well, but Sasha is in pretty bad shape. If Diane makes her more upset, she swears she’ll… Diane asks, what will she do? Word to the wise; never, ever threaten her. Robert tells Diane, ten minutes max, and Diane asks Gladys to excuse her.

Sasha says, he was going to hurt Gladys like he hurt her, and she couldn’t let that happen. So she saw the knife, and… Diane walks in, and says, Sasha, stop right there. Not one more word. And you – she looks at Montague – turn off that recording device right now. He grabs it and shuts it off.

Ava says, she and Austin have only had a few dates. Of course (🍷) Nina doesn’t see them as a couple. Nina says, on the plus side, he’s nothing like Nikolas, and Ava says, that’s for sure. He is very… Nina says, alive, and Ava says, what? Nina says, don’t get her wrong. Ava and Nikolas had some connection and chemistry, but Nikolas always seemed like he was brooding. He was always serious all the time to her. At least Austin is mysteriously… expressive. Ava says, he’s definitely more alive, and Sonny says, he’s very attentive to his patients, because earlier, that guy Gordon was hostile. Austin could have blown him off, but he took the time to deal with the problem. Nina asks, what happened when Sonny went out after him? and Sonny says he’s pretty sure that Austin’s patient understands the situation. Austin comes back, and Ava says, Sonny was just complementing his bedside manner. Sonny’s phone rings, and he tells Gladys that he’s in the middle of something. Gladys says, it’s Sasha. She’s been arrested. Sonny asks, what the hell for? and Gladys says, she’s getting a psyche evaluation at GH right now. Sonny says he’ll be right there, and Nina asks, what’s going on? He says, Sasha’s in trouble. He has to go to GH. Nina says she’s going with him, and tells Ava and Austin that she’s so sorry. Ava says, no, go, and Sonny and Nina leave. Ava says, disaster averted, for now, and eats her martini olives off the stirrer.

Josslyn puts suntan lotion (I think… I hope) on Dex, when his phone rings. She says, don’t answer it, but he says, she knows he has to. Sonny says he knows it’s Dex’s day off. Something came up. Dex asks what he needs and Sonny says, surveillance. Port Charles Grill. Austin Gatlin-Holt.

Portia says she loves the sentiment, she really does, but is Curtis saying if he hadn’t spoken to Sam, he wouldn’t… He says, it’s done. They’re here. And what he wants her to know right now is, whatever happens, his feelings for her won’t change. And once he’s back on his feet… She says, and he will be, but she needs him to listen to his doctors… and his wife. She just wants him to relax and let his body heal as long as possible. He says he’s feeling stronger by the minute, and she says, good. That’s what she likes to hear. She has to check on a patient really quickly, but she promises she’ll be right back. She leaves, and cries in the hallway. Curtis pinches his leg, and sighs.

Dr. Barnsdall shows TJ his tablet, and says, they were successful in removing the bullet and every fragment. TJ says, Dr. Barnsdall always does good work, but was it enough?

Carly says, there’s nothing for Drew to worry about, but he says, something is going on. Is it the financial penalty from the SEC? She says she can handle it. She doesn’t want him to even think about it. He says he doesn’t want her thinking about it. That was a huge fine. He doesn’t want this weighing her down along with everything else. It’s really simple. He can sell Aurora. She says, no, he can’t. Diane made it crystal clear that she can’t accept anything from him, Michael, or Sonny. She could be hit with an even bigger fine, or worse. He says, Diane knows what she’s talking about. Did she come up with a Plan B? Carly says, she did, and Diane told her it’s going to take a while, but it doesn’t matter because she has resources. He says, tell him she’s not selling the house, and she says, the house is too big for them. He says, it’s not just the house, it’s the moss bowl’s🎍 her home, and she says, the home she had with Sonny. She has a lot of great memories of the kids growing up there, but those memories aren’t going away because she sells the house. She wants to focus on the future, and getting him out of here and sharing that future with him. No piece of real estate is going to change that. Life is too fragile to wait around. You think you have everything under control, and think the people you love are safe, then just like that… He says, what happened?

Dex puts his shirt on, and Josslyn asks if he really has to go. It’s his day off. What could be so important? He says, it’s no big deal. Nothing dangerous. Just a little surveillance. He kisses her, and she says, if it’s not important, why can’t they go back to his place right now? and he says, it’s not that he doesn’t want that. He made a choice when he decided to work for Sonny. She says she thought she was the choice he made, and he says, the best ever; the most important ever. But now he needs to go to work, and she – he takes a book out of their beach bag – needs to finish that mystery. The minute this job is done, he promises… She kisses him, and he says he promises. I gotta say it. I think she’s too immature for him.

Austin says he can’t tell. Did Sonny think he was okay, or does Sonny hate him? Ava shrugs and says she doesn’t know, but when he decides, believe her, Austin will know. He asks how she thinks it went, but she says she doesn’t know. Sonny plays things so close to the vest, but when it comes to Avery, he’s not going to take any chances. Austin says, Sonny has nothing to worry about with him and Avery. He loves kids. Ava says, that’s good, because Sonny said something he really meant; family is everything. He lives by that. Austin asks if he’s like that with all her lovers.

Gladys thanks Sonny for coming, and Sonny asks Robert, where’s Sasha? Robert says, she’s in there, indicating the exam room. Diane’s with her.

Montague says, how dare Diane barge in here and interrupt while he’s evaluating a patient. Get out! Diane says she’s not going anywhere. She’s Diane Miller, and she’s Sasha’s attorney. And that trumps his title any day of the week, and don’t turn that recorder on again. She gently asks if Sasha remembers her, and Sasha says, Diane. Diane says she’s Sasha’s attorney. She helped Sasha once before, and she’s going to help her again. Sasha tells her, Dr. Montague said… but Diane says, no. She doesn’t need to pay any attention to Dr. Montague. Just look right at her and she doesn’t say one more word. Montague says, unfortunately, Diane is a little too late. Sasha already told him more than enough.

Nina tells Gladys, this doesn’t make any sense. Why would Sasha stab Cody Bell? Gladys says, it was obvious she wasn’t herself. She would never hurt anyone. Something made her do it. Sonny says, like what? What made her do it?

Alone in the office, TJ yells, dammit! and pounds the desk with his fist. Portia walks in and says, no. He walks over to her, and she tells him, please don’t say it. She cries as he hugs her.

Gladys says she’s not a shrink. How would she know what’s wrong with Sasha? First there was the shoplifting, now she stabs Cody? Nina’s own journalist was there; she saw the whole thing. Nina says she talked to Alyse. She said it came out of nowhere. It doesn’t make any sense. When she was on Home & Heart, and someone did that horrible mind game on her, she handled it. Sonny says he saw her a few weeks ago and told her that she was ready to be on her own; to end Gladys’s guardianship. What changed?

Montague and Diane step away from Sasha, and he says, the police brought Miss Gilmore in for a psyche evaluation. As her lawyer, he’s sure Diane knows what that entails, what his responsibilities are. He’s sorry, but at this point, his hands are tied.

Robert tells Gladys, Sonny, and Nina that he just got off a call from Judge Palmer… Diane joins them and says, please, let her tell them. Sasha needs help. She’s being sent to Ferncliff Hospital for the Criminally Insane. Oh yeah, Ferncliff. We haven’t seen that place for a while.

Ava says she needs to make something very clear, she and Austin aren’t a couple, and they’re definitely not lovers. He says, what happened at Windymere… She says, means nothing. They’re nothing. She had a little moment of weakness. She’s regretted it ever since. He says he’s only regretted they haven’t done it again, and she says, he has an inflated opinion – he rubs her leg under the table – of his sexual prowess. And she assumes as a doctor – she picks up her knife – he has a need for that hand creeping up her thigh. He says, she wouldn’t, and she just looks at him. He removes his hand, and says, she didn’t answer his question. Sonny is a jealous guy? She says, Sonny doesn’t care who she sleeps with, as long as it doesn’t negatively impact Avery. He says, good to know. He assumes she sang his praises when he was away from the table, and she says, what praises might those be? His gymnastics in bed. He says, thank you, and she says, his willingness to help bury dead husbands? She told Sonny as little as possible about him; only what she thought he’d actually believe. He says, then how come he didn’t buy it?

Drew asks, what happened? and Carly says, Curtis was shot. Drew says, is he… She says, no. He’s in the hospital. He asks, how bad was it? and she says, it was touch and go. She heard this morning he’s out of surgery, he’s in recovery, but she doesn’t know his condition. Drew says, who shot him? and she says, they don’t know. It was at the MetroCourt pool. He asks if anyone else was hurt, and she says, no, luckily. He says he doesn’t get it. Who would want to kill Curtis? She says, the PCPD isn’t sure he was the target.

Curtis unsuccessfully tries to move his legs. In the hallway, Portia wipes the tears from her cheeks and puts on a smile. She goes into his room, and says, told him that she wouldn’t be long. He says he’s glad she’s back. Could she make sure they schedule a therapy session for him as soon as possible? She says, it’s way too soon for something like that, but he says, it’s never too soon. He’s not going to sit here in this bed and wait for another miracle. He knows it’s going to take hard work, but he’s here for it. Because no matter what it takes, he’s going to walk and stand up on his own two legs. Who knows? Someday, he might take her in his arms and they can dance the night away again. What does she think about that? She says she absolutely loves it. There’s something she wants to tell him. He asks, what’s wrong? and she says, Dr. Barnsdall got the latest tests and scans back and he consulted with three other surgeons, and none of them think he’ll be able to walk again.

Carly says she’s sorry. As soon as she gets any information about Curtis, she’ll get it to Drew. He thanks her, and says, she told him Portia was with Curtis. Does she know who else was out there? She says, his attorney Zeke, Jordan Ashford… Dante, Anna, and Sonny. He says, Curtis is such a good man. They’d better find out who did this. A guard says, time’s up, and Carly says she’ll come back as soon as she can. Seeing him makes everything better. He says he loves her, and she says she loves him, and leaves after taking a last look.

Portia says, doctors have been wrong before, and this isn’t a death sentence. They almost lost him for good, and Dr. Barnsdall said there’s no reason he can’t live an absolutely… Curtis says, stop. Just stop. She says, but they all love him. No matter what. He says he needs some time, and she says, of course (🍷). Of course (🍷) he does. He says, alone, and she says she understands. She leaves, and stands in the hallway crying, when TJ sees her. In his room, Curtis looks lonely.

Josslyn reads her book, when her phone rings. She says, hello?… This is Josslyn Jax. Who’s this?… Excuse me?… What are you talking about?

Ava says, Sonny rarely makes snap judgements, but when he does, look out, and Austin says, so she doesn’t think Sonny’s judged him yet. She says, probably not, but she thinks she managed to convince him that he has nothing to worry about with Austin spending time around Avery. Austin says, he’s not the only one who can read people. And he gets the distinct feeling Sonny is on to them. Dex listens from the bar.

Cyrus sits on a couch reading, and looks up to see Drew.

Sasha is wheeled out, and Nina says, it’s horrible. Diane promises Nina that she’ll fight this tooth and nail. Gladys says, she’s going to a good place, right? and Montague says, that’s exactly where her daughter-in-law should be. She’ll get all the help she needs. Isn’t that what they all want? He gets in the elevator, and Sonny asks the guard for a moment. He asks if Sasha can hear him. He knows she’s in there. Listen to him. She’s not alone. Does she understand? She’s not alone. She thanks him, and the guard wheels her into the elevator.

On Monday, Carly tells Josslyn that she’s been entrusted with their family institution; Austin tells someone that everything will be okay; and Sonny tells Dex, stay with him. See what he can find out.

June 6, 2019 – Harmony Visits a Cuffed Shiloh, a Challenge From Nina, Runway Observation, Abby’s New Dance, Old Tonys & Forever Friday

Standard

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

I only heard the first few minutes, so here’s a condensed version.

Carly dreams that Ryan took the baby.

Ryan is prepped for surgery.

Harmony shows up to harass Willow.

Shiloh wants Chase’s badge. Margaux comes in, and asks, what’s going on? and Shiloh says, a miscarriage of justice. Chase is arresting him. Margaux says, good work, and Shiloh is like, what?

Elizabeth, TJ, Stella, and Curtis are hanging out in Jordan’s room. TJ says, it’s going to be a long day. Stella thinks it’s getting crowded in there, but Jordan tells them not to go far. She wonders if she’s scaring them away. Elizabeth says she isn’t, but she needs to check on Jordan’s surgical team. Curtis asks if she’s nervous, and Jordan says, no. She’s focused on why the hell Ryan would donate his kidney to her.

Finn, Laura, and Doc sit in the waiting area, while Franco paces. He thinks Ryan’s surgery is taking too long, according to Google, and there’s still a significant chance the kidney will be rejected. Finn says he got all that from Google? Laura asks if it’s not best that Jordan be prepped now, and Doc agrees. Franco hates waiting, but Laura says Jordan is closer to getting a transplant then she was yesterday. Finn’s phone dings, and he says he’s gotten the news they were waiting for.

Carly says that Sonny was holding the baby, but when he turned around, he was Ryan, and the baby was just a bundle of blankets. Sonny tells her, take a moment and breathe. She’s under a lot of stress. Carly guesses everything is jumbled in her subconscious. Sonny says the good news is, Ryan’s been caught. The house phone rings, and Sonny says, it’s not a good time. He tells Carly, it’s Ava, and Carly says, let her up. Let’s get it over with. Sonny says, send her up, and tells Carly to go upstairs. She shouldn’t have to deal with this. Carly says she’s never run from Ava before, and she’s not doing it now.

Willow asks where Harmony was when she needed her? Harmony says she didn’t come to dredge up the past. She understands well the pain Willow’s been carrying. She remembers how it felt when Willow disappeared, leaving only the pregnancy test behind. Willow says it’s the best decision she ever made. Harmony says, it’s a lonely life, being away from your child. It doesn’t have to be like that. She can give Willow a family and refuge. Willow says, from Shiloh? and Harmony says, it doesn’t need to be like that. Shiloh is no threat to Willow and her child. Come with her, and she’ll prove it.

At Charlie’s, Alexis says she didn’t know Lucas and Julian were speaking. Julian says Lucas made an exception when the custody of his baby was up for grabs. She tells him that she can only say so much, and he says he might know more than she thinks. Willow is Wiley’s biological mother, and lied to Diane about not knowing the father. The father is a sexual predator, and could lay legal claim to Wiley. Alexis says if they could only reach a custody outcome that quickly. Julian thinks she might be able to, if she can handicap in Brad and Lucas’s favor.

Shiloh says Margaux ordered his arrest? She says Chase is acting on a warrant she requested, based on evidence. Shiloh says he was the one who was assaulted and almost killed when Jason threw him down the stairs. She says that’s news to her, since he declined to cooperate. She asks Chase if Shiloh knows the charges, and Chase says he was fully informed. She decides she’ll inform him again. She wants the case to be airtight, with no grounds for appeal. Shiloh is going away for twenty to life.

Alexis tells Julian, don’t think of interfering. If he really wants to help, stay out of it, or he might mess up the case.

Willow tells Harmony that her students will be coming in soon. The students we saw once on Career Day, and never appeared again. Harmony tells her that Shiloh was hurt, and is in the hospital. Willow says, Shiloh is a cockroach who will be back on his feet, and taking advantage of women no time. Harmony says if Willow shares the information with her, she can negotiate a truce. Willow says she keeps telling Harmony, there’s no child. Harmony says Shiloh is yearning to forgive Willow, but Willow says she doesn’t want or need his forgiveness. Harmony tells her, don’t say that. Shiloh is slow to anger, but a man can only be ignored and denied his rights for so long. Willow says, or what? and Harmony says she doesn’t want find out.

Shiloh says, attempted rape? He would never. Margaux tells him, save for a jury – if he’s stupid enough to get on the stand. He says he’ll give the jury an earful. Margaux tells Chase that he can leave, and when he’s gone, Shiloh says Margaux must have been pretending for Chase’s benefit. He’s sure she’s found a clever way to vindicate him. She’s sorry to disappoint him, but no. He asks what she means, and she says she wants to see him in prison, where he belongs.

Sonny is surprised Ava made bail for attempted murder. Ava says, it’s more like attempted justifiable homicide. Ryan is in custody. They’re welcome. Carly asks if she’s there looking for a compliment, but Ava says she’s there to see Avery. She was hoping to celebrate Kiki’s birthday. Carly says they already did, showing her a handmade card. Sonny says, on her actual birthday. He guesses Ava was busy. She says she’d like to see her daughter. Sonny says, Josslyn took Avery to the zoo, and Ava says, another wasted visit. Sonny suggests she call ahead.

Curtis tells Jordan, who cares why Ryan changed his mind? He did, and she needs the transplant. She wants to understand why the about-face. She doesn’t trust him. He’s too smart to think helping her will give him leniency. Curtis suggests maybe Ryan is getting a sick satisfaction, knowing she owes her life to him. Maybe he thought about meeting his maker, and that it was his last chance to avoid divine retribution. All that matters is that she’s getting the kidney. Finn tells them, Ryan is out of surgery, and his kidney is ready for transplant. Is she?

Sonny asks Ava if she actually meant for Ryan to find her. Is it true she lured him in? She says she did. He couldn’t wait to show himself. Carly says, so everything with Doc was all an act. Ava says they figured Ryan would be jealous, and follow her, and he did – armed with a knife. She played along, and then pulled her gun. She wanted to hear him beg before she took his life. Sonny asks why she didn’t, and she says Curtis showed up, and told her that Jordan’s life was hanging in the balance. The cops arrested Ryan, and on his way out, he said she could have never gone through with it. She grabbed the knife, and showed him, yes, she could.

Doc and Laura look in on Ryan. In Jordan’s room, Finn says, there were minor complications, but nothing to interfere with the transplant. There were no antibodies. TJ clarifies by saying that means there’s less chance of Jordan’s body rejecting the kidney. Curtis asks how long the surgery will be, and Finn says, two or three hours. Jordan says that’s fast, and he says the operation has been fine-tuned. They make an incision below her navel, put the kidney in, reattach everything, and that’s it. She’ll wake up with tubes in her, but they’ll be removed later. Stella thinks they should go, but Jordan says she needs a minute to speak to Stella alone.

Margaux says Shiloh seems surprised. Shiloh says she’s suffered a setback, and reverted to the sad, scared little girl who came to him in tatters over her mother’s betrayal. Why is she believing Jason over him? She says, evidence and eyewitness testimony; all of which are admissible. Shiloh says he’ll have no choice but to retaliate, and she says, with what? Blackmail? He says, no; the truth she pledged. She says, oh yeah, he means this, and takes her Pledge out of her bag. She says, nice try. He says, the physical copy doesn’t matter. He has it all up here. He taps his head, looking stupid. One day the truth will come out. Someone will dig around, and find out the truth, and her career will be over. She says she already beat him to the punch. She’s resigning as DA.

Alexis tells Julian that she guesses he feels helpless. Wanting to take action is understandable, but counter-productive. He needs to stay out of it. She’ll fight like hell to keep Wiley away from Shiloh, if it comes to that. He asks why it wouldn’t, and she says, it’s hard to get custody from prison. Julian tells her Kristina hasn’t mentioned DOD since she returned from clearing her head. Did she have some help with that?

Willow tells Harmony that she’s not afraid of Shiloh. He has no power over her. Harmony says Willow needs guidance. She’s made terrible decisions since leaving. She gave up her child, and it broke her spirit. Anyone who knew her before would see it. She seemed contented, now she’s lost and angry. Babies bring people together. Willow says Harmony isn’t listening, and Harmony says, the truth will come out, and the baby will be home where he belongs, with both parents. Willow says if Harmony thinks she’d let her or Shiloh anywhere near a baby… Harmony thinks if Willow miscarried, she wouldn’t be so defensive. It’s in her voice; her fervor and rage. Only a mother feels so passionately. She thanks Willow for confirming what she needed to know. Her grandson is alive.

TJ asks Curtis what he thinks Jordan and Stella are talking about. Curtis says, whatever it is, it’s not good, and it’s causing his blood pressure to rise. Jordan tells Stella that she requested a DNR. Stella doesn’t think it’s necessary, but Jordan says it’s a precaution in the event something goes wrong. She doesn’t want to continue in a vegetative state. Stella says, there’s almost no chance of that, but Jordan says Stella knows she believes in being prepared. She’ll need an advocate to make sure her wishes are followed. She doesn’t think Curtis or TJ will do it.

Finn asks Doc how the patient is. Doc says, asleep, but it’s odd. Laura says she’s going to check in with the DA. Doc is free to join her, but Doc says he’d like to stay there. He tells her that he’ll be fine, and to go ahead. Franco comes by, and asks how it’s going. Doc says, there were a few minor complications, but the operation was a success. Franco asks if that’s good or bad.

Ava tells Sonny and Carly that Ryan agreed to the transplant. Sonny says it won’t make a difference to his sentencing, but Ava thinks it will. He’ll be sent to a lesser facility, where he’ll escape, and the nightmare will start over. Carly says, it’s horrible, thinking the person responsible for your child’s death will go free. Ava says she’ll call and discuss picking up Avery tomorrow. Sonny tells her to keep the card. It might do her some good.

Shiloh says Margaux is bluffing. There’s no way she’d resign. Her career means everything to her. She says she’s already drafted a press release. It’s done. Maybe it’s time to learn something else. Her final act as DA will be to leave her successor a solid case. She wonders what they’ll find when they dig deeper. He’s only been Shiloh for so long. She’s sure his time as David Henry Archer warrants investigation too.

Willow tells Harmony that she’s delusional. There’s no baby. She miscarried. Harmony says her grandson is out there somewhere. It’s only a matter of time before Shiloh finds him. Willow says if Harmony has any love left for her, she won’t say anything else to Shiloh. Harmony says she’s going to, but it would be better if it came from Willow. Willow says she’s not going anywhere near Shiloh. Harmony says she’d better; she gave him a Pledge. Willow says, that’s right, but somebody gave it back to her, and the others were destroyed. Harmony says, that’s impossible, but Willow tells her to look for herself. Shiloh has no leverage over her, and when his crimes are exposed, he’s going down. Harmony says she’s lying, but Willow says, it’s happening right now. He’s going to prison. Harmony says she’ll see about that, and storms out.

Julian asks Alexis if Kristina chose to clear her head, or did her parents make that decision. She says it’s none of his business. He can’t believe how hypocritical she is. He can’t cross lines, but it’s acceptable for her. She says she doesn’t have to apologize or justify her actions. He says he’s not asking for that. He just wants her to have understanding. Lucas came to him, panicked, and not thinking clearly. Alexis tells him, stay out of it. He asks if Kristina knew she could come to Alexis for help, she never would have fallen down the DOD rabbit hole in the first place.

Finn tells Ryan that he can’t play possum forever, but gets no response.

Franco asks Doc, how about them woodchucks? Does he think they have a shot at the pennant? Doc says he doesn’t follow baseball, and Franco says him neither. He’s just making a distraction from hypotheticals. Like how easy it would be for Doc to sneak in and put a pillow over his brother’s face. Doc asks if he would care. Franco says, Ryan dead is one in the plus column, but in the minus column, a lot of people would feel the loss if Doc is spending time in Pentonville. Including one or two of his special favorite patients. And there’s the whole moral question. Ryan is helpless. He can’t fight, or even open his eyes. Could Doc live with himself? Could he justify killing, even if Ryan deserves to die. Doc appreciates Franco’s support, but says he doesn’t need to be there. Unless he wants to be. Franco says he sure as hell doesn’t, and walks away.

Stella says Jordan consulted with her doctor, and signed the DNR, which is her right and prerogative, but leave her out of it. Jordan says if it’s needed, she’s asking Stella to speak on her behalf. Stella is the only person she trusts to make it all right. Stella says Curtis and TJ will be opposed to it. Jordan says, says the woman who stared down Ryan Chamberlain. They’ll fight with everything they have, and Jordan needs her to don that cape of hers, and pull off the heroics she’s famous for. What does she say? Stella takes her hand, and says Jordan can count on her.

Alexis goes to Sonny’s place. He asks if Kristina is okay. Alexis thinks probably the thought of Shiloh being arrested is encouraging, but she needs help with something else. She not asking Carly to intervene per se, but she’s asking if Carly will keep an eye on her brother.

Julian shows up at Willow’s classroom, where she teaches ghost children. She says he needs to leave right now. Julian says if she wants to keep Shiloh away from Wiley, she’ll hear him out. She closes the door, and says, make it quick. He says the only way to make sure Shiloh never finds out is through the adoption file. The file in Albany is no longer in play, but Willow’s lawyer has her own copy. If they could somehow eliminate the records, there will be nothing tying Willow to Wiley. Willow says, Diane would never destroy the records, and Julian says, she wouldn’t.

Chase tells Harmony that no one is allowed in the prisoner’s room. She says, this is absurd. He’s done nothing wrong. Chase says he’s officially in custody. Margaux comes out, and asks if Harmony needs help. Harmony says Chase won’t let her see Shiloh. Margaux asks if she was an accessory. He was using the Pledges to blackmail the members, drugging them, and sexually assaulting them. Harmony says she has no idea what Margaux is talking about, and Margaux says Harmony needs to work on her denials. She’ll most likely be subpoenaed, and might be charged. She should stay as far away from Shiloh as possible, but it’s her call. She’ll allow Harmony to see him. Harmony stomps into Shiloh’s room, and Margaux says, what she thought. With any luck, Harmony will follow Shiloh straight to prison.

Laura says she’d like a word with Margaux. Ryan is out of surgery. She’d like an overview of the prosecution’s case. Margaux says she needs to address something else first.

Harmony asks Shiloh how this happened. He says the detective made groundless accusations, and arrested him. Harmony says, Margaux is convinced they have a case. Shiloh says Margaux has completely lost her way. Jason almost killed him. He had to give over the Pledges. Harmony says he did what he had to, and he asks if she talked to Willow. She says, he was right. He has a child out there.

Carly says, Wiley’s biological parents are Willow and Shiloh? and Alexis says, it stays in this room. Shiloh doesn’t know, and she wants to keep it that way, or he’ll fight for custody.  Sonny says, he’ll make a bad situation worse, and Alexis says they need to keep Brad and Lucas calm and focused. If Lucas doesn’t push, Julian won’t do anything rash to keep Wiley from Shiloh.

Ava walks into Charlies. Julian is drinking down a shot, and she asks if he’s sampling his own wares. He asks what it looks like. She says, it looks like he could use a drinking buddy. He says, circumstances call for it, and she says, that’s always the way for the Jeromes. They drink.

Willow calls Diane, and leaves a message. She says her mom knows about the baby, and is going to tell Shiloh. She’s scared. She gets another call, and asks Diane to call back asap. It’s Chase, and she asks, what’s going on? He says, it’s done. Shiloh has been arrested. He put the cuffs on Shiloh himself, and there’s plenty of damning evidence. She says, finally, some good news. He tells her that she can rest easy tonight. The law is on her side.

Shiloh says he has a child, and Harmony says, he’s a father. He says, amazing. Boy or girl? She says Willow refused to say, but they’ll know everything soon. He says the police are going to lock him away from his child. She wishes she could help. He says she can.

Margaux tells Laura that she’s resigning, effective immediately. Her staff is up to date, and more than capable of handling things until a special election for a new DA can be held. She thought it would be welcome news to Laura. Laura says she knows they clashed, but she respects Margaux’s passion and dedication. Margaux says her passion was misplaced, and her office compromised. She’s in no position to carry on as an effective DA. Laura appreciates her stepping down. Margaux says it helps knowing the people of Port Charles have Laura looking after them. Don’t let them down.

Finn tells Doc that he’s getting a neurologist to consult. Ryan may have slipped into a coma. Laura returns and asks if Doc has spoken to his brother. Doc says, he’s still unconscious. God help him, he hopes it stays that way.

Jordan is wheeled out on a gurney. Curtis says they’ll be waiting for her. He loves her. He kisses her, and she says she’ll see them on the other side. He kisses her hand, and she’s wheeled in.

Tomorrow, Maxie tells Nina it’s her turn, Doc says his brother is hard to kill, Carly is sure Jax has an excellent explanation, and Franco has good news for Ava.

Project Runway

The designers have had five months and $10K to create a collection of ten pieces. Christian went around to their homes to check on them. No surprise, Hester’s house in Santa Fe is crazy cool, like a teenager’s bedroom, or my first apartment. When Christian traveled to Fort Lauderdale to see Sebastian, he said the city was like a gay island. A far cry from the one time I was there, and it was more like a retirement home. Baltimore’s Bishme said he was homeless when he applied to Project Runway. He was living in his studio. Um… I don’t think that’s exactly homeless. Sadly, he’d lost a family member, and found out his sister had colon cancer. He only had eight pieces ready, but hoped to catch up in the time left. Costume king Garo lives in Phoenicia, New York, and I have no idea where that is. He had a lot of sparkle and texture going on, and balanced out Bishme with having fourteen pieces ready.

The contestants met back at the ranch new studio, and I wondered why Hester hugs people by first walking toward them with arms outstretched, like Frankenstein. I’d find that kind of scary if she came at me like that. They visited Nina at the Elle magazine office, and she showed them the room everyone wants to see – where the fashion is housed. It was about a skabillion times bigger than the closet in The Devil Wears Prada. Nina told them their challenge was to show three looks – two from their collection, and an 11th look based on Nina’s suggestions, which would also be cohesive with the other two. From Bishme, she wanted sporty outerwear; Hester was to be devoid of print (against her design philosophy); Garo was given the task of a tailored suit that could go from daytime to nighttime; and she wanted more movement from Sebastian, who took his tailored craftsmanship to another level..

When Hester jammed a sewing machine needle through her finger, my first thought was, it figures she’d decided on white for her non-print garment. I’m sure that was her second thought after screaming in pain. I don’t think it’s what Christian meant when he suggested she do something in red. Sebastian raged against the machine, designing a gown with leggings under it, when he was supposed to be designing a gown. Christian steered him back to gown territory. Without Christian’s kibitzing, these designers might not have made it this far. He always seems to be right on the money. The guest judge was Steven Kolb, president and CEO of the CFDA, and the dude who met with them last week.

Before runway time, Bishme had a moment, which is what we used to call breaking down and crying, before we needed euphemisms for everything that’s not rainbows and unicorns. He didn’t even want to look at his latest look. Garo’s suit was so ill-fitting,  even I noticed.

Hester ended up creating a totally different outfit – in red – and did it in three hours. Nina said Hester was resistant, but was glad she pushed her, and Brandon said her faux fur material was unconventional. We found out that Sebastian was a ballet dancer, and suddenly the way he designs made total sense. Nina said Bishme’s new piece – some sort of patchwork hoodie dress – had no direction whatsoever. He’d started off wanting to make a moto jacket, so I wasn’t even sure how he got there. Brandon told him when life was giving you lemons, you had to go on autodrive. Besides the atrocious fit, Brandon thought Garo’s suit was too Melanie Griffith in Working Girl, and lacked freshness. Garo actually begged for mercy. Nina was shocked and crushed about Bishme, and it was agreed his dress was like a potato sack. I had to admit they were right, even though I confess to once having a bubble dress that was quite similar.

Hester and Sebastian were in first. Garo joined them, and Bishme was out. I immediately thought, it might seem like a horrible moment, but maybe his family needs him right now. You know, that thing we tell ourselves when it all goes wrong – everything happens for a reason. Sometimes, it does. Nina said it might not be the right time, but it would be his time. I believe that too. He had some wonderful designs. He was happy about making it this far, and letting everyone see his process; the good the bad and the ugly. I think the deciding factor was really that he only had eight designs. The judges seemed somewhat concerned about that. Bishme peaced out, the others congratulated each other, and there was a group hug.

Next time, the finale – a meeting with Diane von Furstenberg, some of the clothing gets damaged, and it’s time for the final runway.

👀 Extra observation. I saw a lot of online agreement that this was the best and freshest Project Runway season in a long while. I’ve mentioned before that I’d never gotten into this show. Mostly because there was another show that trumped it, but I’d given it a try a few times, and felt ho-hum about it, even though I love looking at clothes I will never be able to afford. This time, one of the things I enjoyed was the dynamic between the cast members. For the most part, Nadine and Tessa aside, it was a genuinely copacetic atmosphere. I don’t mind some kvetching, or even a little hair-pulling, but these Housewives have gotten me to the point where I’m like, enough already. I also think with the timeframe they have to create and produce, ain’t nobody got time for that. Which brings me to how, in pondering this, I finally got my tagline. I’m just too busy to be bitchy.

👯 It’s often in the darkest skies that we see the brightest star. So said Abby Lee Miller on Dance Moms. I checked out new season, and it was pretty much what I expected. Abby said the last year has been a living hell, but damn, she looks good. Her cancer is also in remission. The kids seemed more mature and sassier, although I hate hearing the standard, I’ve been working for/dreaming of this my entire life, coming from a twelve-year-old. It’s like, you do realize you’ll most likely live past twenty, right? It was fun to see Abby screaming at the kids, and calling them losers again. As soon as the new team was chosen, she told them, I made you, and I can break you just as easily. No, wait. That was Frank-N-Furter in Rocky Horror. She did say she was giving them an opportunity, and could take it away from them, which to a little kid, is probably just as menacing. For a moment, I thought the moms were more mature as well, but it didn’t take long until they were straight out of All About Eve. As in previous seasons, the dancing was mesmerizing and beautiful; amazing work from kids so young. Even though Abby can be a tyrant, she must be doing something right to produce such remarkable talent.

General Hospital

Sonny tells Margaux, it looks like Shiloh lost a couple of his true believers. Margaux says Sonny appears to have rendered them unconscious. He says, it couldn’t have been too bad. They walked out under their own power. He hopes they went to the bus station, and got out of town. She asks if he threatened them, and he says, what difference does it make? They’re gone. He tells her that she’s dodging his question. Where is Shiloh? She asks how she would know, and he says Shiloh is her leader. Where would he try to hide?

Shiloh says Sam wants this as much as he does. She says, no, and feebly pushes at him. She asks why he brought her there. He says it’s their special place, where he told her they’d see the dawn together. Everything has been leading up to this moment. She says, no, no, no, no, and he kisses her.

Laura calls Lulu, and tells her that it’s official. Ryan is back in town. She asks where the kids are, and tells Lulu that she needs to be careful tonight. Curtis runs in, and asks where Chase is. Laura says Chase organized a manhunt, and asks how Jordan is. He says, not good. She went into cardiac arrest, and he needs to locate Ryan now. She says, he’s not getting away, and the police have orders to shoot on sight. He says, Ryan has to be brought in alive. Jordan’s life depends on it.

Chase calls Julian, looking for Ava. Julian says he hasn’t seen her since he was arrested. Try the bars, or her new boyfriend’s place. Chase says let him know if Ava contacts him. Chase gets a message, and Lulu wonders if he has something.

Ryan asks what Ava is doing. She says what she’s dreamt of since the moment she found out he killed her daughter. He says she doesn’t want to shoot him; she loves him. They belong to each other. She shoots.

I’m not loving the latest opening credits. They look kind of cheap.

Curtis tells Laura that dialysis was a strain on Jordan’s heart, and she needs a transplant yesterday. Laura says Doc was a match, but he says Doc is pre-diabetic. It rules him out as a donor, but Ryan is a match. They have to catch him, and bring him in alive. He asks her to call off the shoot to kill orders. She understands, and she’ll locate Chase. In the meantime, Ava is missing. The theory is that she set a trap for Ryan. Curtis suggests checking the gallery, Julian’s house, and Kiki’s old apartment. He tells Laura to make sure it’s understood how important it is to bring Ryan in alive. It’s Jordan’s only chance, and he can’t lose her. They hug. Lucy sees them, and asks if Doc is okay. Laura says, he’s fine; he’s being monitored. Lucy says she just left the Nurses Ball, and it’s crazy. The cops are busy looking for Ava. She believes Ava fled the city, since she thinks of no one but herself. Curtis hopes not, for Jordan’s sake. Lucy wonders what Jordan has to do with it, and he says, it’s a complicated issue. She needs a kidney. Doc is a match, but can’t donate; however, Ryan is also a match. He says, where Ava goes, Ryan will follow, and Lucy thinks maybe there’s something she can do.

Chase tells Lulu, it was a false alarm, and Lulu says, Ryan could be anywhere. Chase says he has everyone searching, including the FBI, from lower Canada to NYC. Ava is off the grid, and turned her phone off. Lulu wonders if Ryan has killed or kidnapped her, but Chase says Mac, Felicia, and Doc believe she was setting a trap for Ryan; luring him in. She’s planning on murdering him herself. Lulu says, revenge for Kiki.

Ava says, that was a warning. She’s not ready for Ryan to die just yet. She wants him to feel the same terror his victims did. The way Kiki did. He says he did it for her. He did it out of love. She says she already knew that. It haunts her every waking moment, and keeps her up at night. Ryan – who is sometimes not too bright – says she told him she was better off. She says, she lied. Did he honestly think she could love him, and believe she’d run away with him? She’s been planning this for months. Ever since that night on the bridge, she’s been waiting to kill him and get justice for her daughter. He says, no. She won’t. She can’t. Their bond it too strong. She says he’s going to die for what he did, and it won’t be quick. She’s going to give him time to hurt as much as she does. She shoots again, and says she’s an excellent shot. He won’t die until she’s good and ready. Is his heart pounding? Is he desperate for a way out, and no escape? Is that what it was like for Kiki? Tell her about her daughter’s last moments on earth.

Margaux tells Sonny that she doesn’t know where Shiloh is, and if she did, she wouldn’t tell him. He says she’s protecting a con man. No, worse; a predator. He thought she was smarter than getting involved with DOD. She asks what that says about Sonny’s daughter, and he says, she’s young and lost. He can see her falling into this freak show, but how did Margaux let herself get wrapped up in this organization? She says, because of him.

There’s a knock on Kim’s door. Julian answers, and it’s Brad. Julian asks if it’s about Ava, and Brad looks puzzled. He says he has to talk to Julian. Lucas is already upset enough. Julian tells him, keep it down; Kim is sleeping. Brad says something happened at the Nurses Ball, that could cause him to lose Wiley and Lucas.

Shiloh says Sam is exactly what he needed. He kisses her, and says, with her by his side, he can do anything. He unbuttons his shirt as he talks. He says they were destined to be together, and know each other on every level. It starts tonight. He starts undoing his pants, and Jason grabs him from behind. He punches Shiloh, and then… Well, throttle is a good word. He bounces Shiloh off the walls, and throws him down the stairs. Shiloh lies still at the bottom. Jason goes to Sam, and tells her that she’s safe. It’s okay.

Margaux asks Sonny if he thinks just because she moved on in her life, she forgot how Sonny turned it upside down? He took her father and mother away. Her entire life was based on a lie. She couldn’t shrug it off until she met Shiloh. She read his story, and his organization finally gave her peace. Sonny says, he fed her lies. She says Sonny surrounds himself with thugs and criminals. He’s not used to dealing with decent men. Sonny says, Shiloh is a liar and a predator. She needs to get it through her head that he welcomed her because he wants the DA in his back pocket.

Sam tells Jason that she wanted to stop him, and Jason says she did. She says she doesn’t feel good, and he picks her up, and takes her out.

Lucy says Ava wanted to buy a vacation spot in the woods. She thought it was weird that Ava would pick her as an agent, since she was mad about Ava stealing Doc from Laura. She looks at Laura, and Laura says, thank you. Curtis asks if Ava bought a property, and Lucy says she did, and didn’t even blink at the inflated commission. She also didn’t care that it was way out there; isolated. She asks if they shouldn’t call the cops, and Curtis asks, where is it? Laura says she needs to notify the authorities. Curtis says he’s just asking for a head start. He’s going to make sure Ava is okay, and Ryan isn’t shot. Twenty minutes. After everything they’ve been through, let him have this. Lucy gives him directions, adding, it’s way off the road.

Chase tells Lulu that he’s working on it, but he’s had no hits or leads, and there’s been nothing from the roadblocks. He believes Ava is waiting at her destination. Valerie is checking car rentals. Lulu says he’s doing a great job, but maybe it’s time to let the public know Ryan is on the loose.

Ryan tells Ava, masochism doesn’t suit her. She doesn’t need to hear this. She says, tell her or she’ll shoot the hand off that he has left. He says he tried to make it quick. He tried to be merciful. He didn’t want her to feel any pain. Ava told him that she wanted Kiki out of her life. He did that, so Kiki and Griff wouldn’t hurt her again. He tried to kill Griff too, but by that time, Ava was his. He asks if she remembers how happy he was when she told him that she loved him, and how happy she was when he said he loved her. She says that’s not what she asked. She wants to know what Kiki did when she realized he was there to kill her. Now! He says Kiki was scared and tried to get away. When he cornered her, she started to cry. She cried out for her mommy. Ava starts to get shaky, and he tells her that Kiki said, mommy… mommy… mommy.

Julian says, Lucas figured it out? What exactly happened? Brad says the Ball was a disaster before, then it got worse. Lucas thinks Wiley’s biological father is Shiloh. Julian says, the DOD guy? Because there are so many Shilohs in Port Charles. Brad says he’s taken Wiley to workshops. Shiloh kept wanting him to bring Wiley back, and now Shiloh found out Willow had his child. Lucas thinks Shiloh will be determined to find him.

In Sam’s hospital room, Jason tells her, try and get some rest. She struggles to remember, and asks, what happened at the tower? How did she get there? Jason says he and Sonny were monitoring everything that was happening. They heard Shiloh pressure her into drinking the tea, and when the tattoo was finished, he said something about it being fate that only his hands touched her. That’s when he and Sonny went in, but there were guards. Sam tells him, Shiloh said they’d be alone, and Jason says, he lied. There were two guys, and by the time he and Sonny got past them, she and Shiloh were gone. She asks how he found them.

Margaux asks why Sonny hates Shiloh. He only wants to help the community. He doesn’t care that she’s the DA. He’s never asked for a favor. Sonny says, that’s how he operates. If he was hauled in sex charges, would she charge him? She says she’s never seen him ask anyone for sexual favors or otherwise. Jason attacked him, and he didn’t press charges. Sonny says, it’s manipulation. Let him tell her how it works. He asks you to join his inner circle, asks for a Pledge – an ugly secret you can’t tell anyone. Once you accept it and sign it, he sets up an initiation, where he drugs, tattoos, and has sex with you. Sonny says, he’s not a lawyer, but doesn’t it sound like sexual assault to her?

Lulu says, they might get calls from people who have seen Ryan, but Chase says, or start a panic. Sightings that lead to nowhere. Laura calls, and says she may have Ava’s location. If Ryan is there, Chase needs to tell the officers to stand down. She’s saying it again – no deadly force. No shots. He needs to be brought in alive.

Ava says her daughter called to her, but she wasn’t there. He say he did it for her; anything for her. She says she didn’t mean it. She was jealous and hurting, and because of him, Kiki died. He believes she’s mistaken. Kiki’s last words were, tell my mother, I’m sorry. Tell my mother, I love her. I’m not buying it, but Ava is, and she’s starting to cry. He says, her daughter loved her. He begins to come closer, and says, but her daughter is gone and he’s there, and he loves her. She says, too bad. She’s going to kill him. He says, no, she’s not. Ava says, Kiki was beautiful and perfect in every way, and he killed her. Not for her, but for himself – she starts to walk around him – because he’s evil. She despises him. She’s given this a lot of thought. She wants to make sure he dies, but she doesn’t want it to be quick and painless. A shot to the gut is best. Something agonizing to cause him pain as lies there bleeding out. He says she doesn’t want to do this, but she says she does. More than anything she’s ever wanted in to do in her life. She takes aim.

Brad tells Julian that he’s had no one else to talk to. No one else knows he got the baby from a woman at the side of the road. Willow thinks Wiley is her biological child. When Shiloh comes after her, everything will be blown wide open, unless… Shiloh is reasonable, kind, caring. He’s been a wonderful advisor. Maybe Brad should tell him the truth, and he’ll leave them alone. Julian says, not a word to anyone, especially Shiloh.

Jason tells Sam that Shiloh said he was going to show her a new dawn, along with a stupid story about watching the sunrise. Sam guesses she may have passed out. She doesn’t remember getting there. She’s obviously upset, and says, the tower. Maybe Shiloh put her on the table. She tried to say no, but she couldn’t move. He started kissing her, and she could barely breathe. He was gone, then Jason was there. What happened to Shiloh? Jason says he threw Shiloh down the stairs. Sam asks, is he dead? Jason says, with any luck.

Margaux says Sonny is lying. Shiloh would never do those things. He asks, what’s wrong with her? He’s trying to warn her. Shiloh is a blackmailer and a sexual predator, but instead of launching an investigation, she’s defending him. Does he have something on her? She says, Sonny took her father from her, and he’s taking this too? He says he’s looking out for her. She asks why he cares, and he says, maybe he shouldn’t, but he does. Her mother and Skully made her into a victim. He doesn’t want to allow Shiloh to do the same thing. Save herself. Face the truth – if she wants to.

Lucy says that Laura just promised Curtis a head start. She says she didn’t promise, and Lucy says she let him believe it. Lulu joins them, and asks how Laura knew where Ava was. Lucy says, yoo-hoo! And Laura says, Lucy provided the information. Lucy says, sometimes it pays to be a realtor, in more than one way. Laura says she’ll make sure Lucy gets a commendation. Lucy says she could have been more help if they’d told her earlier, and saved herself buckets of grief, thinking Doc had fallen for Ava. Laura says Lucy does realize Doc is her husband, right? Lucy says, hope springs eternal, and strides off.

Ava says, one more thing, and I almost die, thinking, stop talking. Just shoot him, but don’t kill him. There’s something he needs to know. His brother is so much smarter than him. Doc knew exactly how to set him up and how he’d react. In the end – and this is the end – he was pedestrian and predictable. Ryan tells her, don’t say that. She says, the truth hurts, but if it’s any consolation, the bullets will hurt more. Twice in the gut and once in the leg should do the trick. Curtis opens the patio door behind her, and says, don’t shoot. Jordan had a heart attack, and was taken off dialysis. Ryan can be a donor if they keep him alive. She says he killed her daughter. Curtis understands, but asks what Kiki would want. For Ava to avenge her, or honor her by helping Jordan live. Ryan raises one eyebrow a scrinch and I laugh.

Lulu tells Laura that she had no idea Jordan’s condition was so serious. She asks what makes Laura so sure Ryan will cooperate? He couldn’t care less about helping a police commissioner… unless they use it to bargain with him. Laura says they’re getting ahead of themselves. They don’t know if Ava lured him in, or if the police will capture him and bring him in alive. Lulu can’t believe she’s going to say this, but she empathizes with Ava. She would want them to shoot on sight. Laura says, if Ryan had taken Lulu from her, she doesn’t know what she would want to do. Lulu says, Ava wants closure, but will any of them get it? Laura says, if he survives.

Curtis tells Ava to give him the gun. She doesn’t know if she can do that, Curtis says, if he dies, Jordan dies. Ryan will get what’s coming to him. Death would be merciful. Let this animal spend his life in a cage. Don’t put him out of his misery. Let him die slowly, while she lives her life, while he rots. It’s the best revenge of all. He takes the gun put of her hand. Ryan moves to pick up the knife, but stops when Curtis says, no. Chase runs in with some officers, and Curtis says, don’t shoot. He puts Ava’s gun down. He tells Ryan, you owe me, and Chase reads Ryan his rights while the officers cuff him. Ryan looks at Ava. He probably thinks she’s never been hotter.

Sonny asks Jason how Sam is. Jason says, recovering. She’s improving, and should be fine tomorrow. Sonny says they pulled out all the surveillance equipment, and Jason says Spinelli told him there was clean audio on everything that happened. They have good leverage on Shiloh, but he doesn’t know if it was worth it.

Sam dreams of being in the tower with Shiloh. He tells her it’s their special place, where they’ll see their first dawn together. Bleh.

Brad asks what Shiloh did to Julian, and Julian says, he’s poison. The only thing they’ve got going for them is that Shiloh doesn’t suspect Willow’s son is Wiley. If he goes for custody, the whole, messy situation will be exposed, and Brad will lose Wiley. Brad says, and Lucas. Tell him what to do.

Sonny goes into Shiloh’s hospital room. He flicks Shiloh’s face with his fingers, and I almost fall off of my chair. He says, good. Shiloh is awake. Remember his philosophy? Family first always, at any cost.

Julian says he’s not telling Brad what to do. He’s been dragged into this mess enough. Brad says he can’t trust himself not to say anything tonight. Julian tells him to revisit it when he’s thinking more clearly, but Brad says he has no time. Julian says, go home. One way or another, he promises not let take anyone take away Wiley, especially Shiloh.

Sonny says Shiloh messed with his family. Now he’s going to pay the price. That trip down the stairs was just a start. Sonny puts his face close to Shiloh’s, and says, terrible things are going to start happening, unless he hands over Kristina’s Pledge. Think it over. Someone will be by in the morning to discuss the details. Shiloh looks angry, and then sort of defeated. I wondered why Sonny didn’t ask for all of the Pledges, but I assume that will be evidence against Shiloh in an upcoming trial.

Sam continues to dream. Shiloh says, everything has been leading up to this moment. He kisses her, and unbuttons his shirt, saying, they’re destined to be together. She pushes at him, and Jason grabs him. She wakes up, and Jason comes to her bed. He says, it’s okay. She’s safe. She says, it’s really over; he’s really there. He says he’s not going anywhere, and holds her.

Laura tells Lulu, they got him. Chase is making the arrest as they speak. Lulu says, that’s good news, especially (WOTD) for Jordan. Laura feels the same way, but he’s managed to escape before. Lulu doesn’t believe it, and says, this time it will be different. He outwitted himself, and there’s no escape. He’s going to go to prison, and staying there.

Chase asks if Ava is okay, and Curtis asks to borrow Chase’s phone. Ryan smiles. Chase asks Ava for a contact, so he can take a statement later. As Ryan goes past Ava, he says she couldn’t pull the trigger. She loves him. An officer tells him, move, and shoves him forward. Ava picks up the knife, and plunges it into Ryan’s back. He falls. Chase’s eyes bug out.

Next time, Neil asks how the plan worked; Scotty tells Ava if Ryan dies, she faces a murder rap; and Sam tells Shiloh, game over. You lose. The digital guide says it’s a new show on Monday, but I doubt it, since it’s Memorial Day.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

In Ankara, Turkey, Sonny paces in an alley, saying, come on, boy. Don’t leave me hanging. Dan shows up and Sonny says it took a while; that means he was discreet. Did anyone see him? Dan says he’s a shadow. Sonny asks if Raj is holding his son in the compound.

Alexis apologizes to Neil for being late. She was having dinner with her girls, and lost track of time. He says she’s paying for the time. How she spends it is up to her. She says her middle daughter just lectured her on how therapy is a waste of money.

Chase plays catch with himself. There’s a knock at the door, and he says, couldn’t stay away. It’s Finn, who says, try as he might. Chase tells him, it’s not that he doesn’t love seeing him… and Finn says, but he was hoping it was someone else.

At the MetroCourt, Anna thanks Valentin for coming. He says, imagine his surprise that she wanted to meet with him. She must be desperate. She says, only for information. He asks, about what? and she says, her sister.

Outside Charlie’s, Michael sees Jason, and says he heard his mom was in the hospital. He was told Jason would explain everything. Jason says his mom is fine. Michael feels like there’s always somebody in his family on the edge of disaster.

Kristina tells Molly that she’s not in a cult, and to stop being dramatic. She knows nothing about it. Molly says Kristina can’t say three words without quoting Shiloh. It sounds like a cult.

Sam tells Shiloh that she wants to know what’s going on with Kristina. He says he’s all hers, and she ask if he’d mind putting on a shirt. He wonders why that makes her uncomfortable; she seems flustered. She says she’s seen men with their shirts off before, and he says there must be something significant about him. Sam says she didn’t expect him to be shirtless. He says he’s not used to conforming to other people’s customs in his own home. She says she doesn’t live with a bunch of strangers, but he says, they’re not strangers. She asks if he always leaves the door unlocked, and he says, it’s open to all. She knows it’s Port Charles, but that doesn’t mean it’s crime free. IMO, it’s just the opposite, with all the serial killers and mobsters roaming around. He asks if she’s worried about his safety, but she says she’s worried about her sister. Shiloh says he takes care of Kristina, and she takes care of him. Sam flashes back to telling Jason that Shiloh has a history of manipulating women, and the sooner they get Kristina out, the better.

Kristina thought Molly would defend her freedom to think as she chooses. Molly asks if her thoughts are hers or Shiloh’s. Kristina says their mom was skeptical, until she saw for herself what DOD is about. Molly says she doesn’t need to join a cult to know one. Kristina says she can’t evolve and find fulfillment? Molly says she chases easy answers, but can’t find a career or hobby. She doesn’t care what Kristina does or who she does it with, as long as she stays true to herself. Nothing she’s saying sounds like the Kristina she knows. Kristina says, that’s the problem. Molly doesn’t know her at all, and it’s on her.

Michael asks Jason if his dad has any idea what happened to Carly. Jason says she doesn’t want him to worry. He needs to be focused if he’s going to find Dante and bring him home.

Dan says he didn’t see Raj, but saw his personal bodyguard. Sonny says, that means Raj is close, and his son is close. He needs to find a way sneak in. Dan says, there are many guards and guns, but Sonny says he has no choice. His son is in trouble. He gives Dan a wad of cash, and thanks Dan for getting him this far. Dan asks what he’s going to do, and Sonny says, find a way to sneak in. If he can’t, he’ll knock on the door. Dan says they’ll kill him, and Sonny says if he’s not back by nightfall, call the number on the paper and tell whoever answers where he went. Dan says he can do better, and takes off. Sonny asks where he’s going.

Neil asks Alexis if her daughter’s opinion about therapy was in general or specific to him. Alexis says she had told them that her last therapist was being impersonated by his twin brother, a serial killer. Neil says he heard about Doc, and his brother taking his place. Is she saying her sessions were with Doc’s brother? She says, just one, but she it should have been enough for her to figure it out.

Valentin tells Anna, on the subject of her relatives… She interrupts, saying, no one else is up for discussion. Valentin says she’s put him in a pickle. If he keeps a secret from her, she gets furious. Now he wants to tell her something, and she’s not going to listen. He and Nina are getting remarried, and Peter is going to be his best man. Anna says, after everything Valentin has done to him? He says, it’s called forgiveness. She should look it up. He asks, what about her sister? and Anna says she needs to find her. It’s important.

Finn asks Chase if it’s a bad time, but Chase says, not at all. Finn notices he had a date, and Chase says, had is the operative word. She left a few minutes ago. Finn asks if he and the school marm have hit a rough patch. Chase says, Willow is no one’s marm, and it was just the opposite. They had a great time. Finn says his routine on career day worked. Chase says, it wasn’t a routine. Finn says, the uniform and the dog? It should have been a felony for Chase to ask her out. Chase says like Finn never impressed anyone with his scrubs. Didn’t he ask Anna out after being her doctor? Finn pleads the fifth. Chase says they’re taking things slow, and Finn says, any slower, and he’ll be going back in time. Chase asks if Finn came to take pot shots at him, but Finn says he was passing by, and thought it would be a good time to tell Chase that he needs to call their dad.

Valentin asks what Alex has done to incur Anna’s wrath. She asks if she looks wrathful, and he says she looks like she’s covering up something. She looks like a spring about to snap. She says he puts her on edge, and he says he used to feel that way, but they sorted out their past. She asks when he last saw Alex, and he says he knows what happens when Anna gets angry. Anna says she has something that belongs to Alex, and she’s aching to get rid of it.

Neil tells Alexis, Ryan had the whole city eating out of his hand. Why was her failure to recognize him more egregious than any other? She says she can pick a psychotic out of a crowd. She should have known. She let herself be deceived. She knew something was wrong right away, and should have left. Neil suggests maybe she looked past the warning signs because she was desperate for someone to confide in.

Sam says, so Shiloh is taking care of her sister, and he says they take care of each other. They have open arms, but not closed eyes; the door is locked at midnight. He suggests she come back and bring the kids. He asks, what’s wrong? He thought they were past her questioning his judgment. She says she has doubts, and he says he thought the tower resonated with her, and she found it applicable to her own life. She says she’s concerned about Kristina’s life. She just witnessed Kristina write a friend off who had questions about DOD. Kristina just cut Valerie out of life; just like that. He’s sorry to hear that. She says, is he? She was wondering if he put Kristina up to it.

Kristina tells Molly that she’s changing with Shiloh’s help. She’s grown and improved. Molly would know that if she was around. She asks if Molly is afraid she’ll be embarrassed by Kristing in front of her intellectual friends. Molly says she’s been busy with school, and Kristina says the only time she comes down from her ivory tower is to cast judgement. Molly says she didn’t realize how bad it had gotten. If she’d known what was up, she’d have called Kristina out ages ago. Kristina says if Molly is done lecturing, she has work to do. Molly tells her, don’t walk away. If Kristina wants her educated, educate her.

Michael wonders what that’s about, but Jason isn’t sure he wants to know. Michael says he and Kristina aren’t close like they used to be. She’s been distant since Oregon, but they had a heart to heart the other day. It’s been a long time since they talked. Jason asks how she seemed, and Michael says she seems to be making headway; figuring out life. She’s back in school, and he fronted her the money for classes.

Shiloh says, she should know. D’oh! He says he’ll see if he can get Kristina to patch things up. He can’t promise she’ll see things Sam’s way. The only way to commit to DOD is to embrace it and go all in. Some people can’t hack that commitment. Can Sam?

He should know what Kristina’s been up to.

Anna tells Valentin to quit stalling. He says he’s not. He sees the familiar fear in her eyes. They’re not so different. All of the lies, betrayals, and deaths; sometimes good memories. It’s all they’ve got to keep them from drowning; remembering the good. Don’t cash it in. Anna says tell her where to find her sister. He says he hasn’t seen her since she came to him before he went to the Hague, when he was still in custody. She asks how Alex got to him, and he says, she just did. She does a good Anna Devane. He asks how she rates herself as an attorney. She says, good. She’s a meticulous researcher, she thoroughly prepares, and can think on her feet. He asks what she does when a witness doesn’t give a direct answer, and she says she asks the judge to instruct the witness to answer the question. He says he has no judge to appeal to, so he’s asking her himself. She has no problem confronting the issue. Why does she fear overcoming it?

Kristina tells Michael, it’s nothing. Molly says, if it’s nothing, why not tell him? Kristina says, shut up, and Molly asks Michael why he’s giving Kristina money for classes given by a con man. It’s exactly as bad as it sounds. Kristina is in a cult. Kristina says Shiloh is leading her down the path to enlightenment. She can’t deal with the negativity, and doesn’t need them. She storms out, and Molly says, cult.

Sam tells Shiloh that she’s talking about Kristina’s issues, and she’s not Kristina. Shiloh says he can’t deny what he senses, or ignore a person in pain. Sam has admitted she’s afraid of commitment. He says, step one, and she asks, what does she do?

Molly says, Kristina is being brainwashed. Michael says the harder they push, the more defiant she’ll become. She says he can’t think it’s legitimate, but Michael says he needs more information before he sounds the alarm. Molly asks what about Jason? Kristina is drowning. Can’t he do something? He flashes back to Sam saying Shiloh is better than they thought, and she’s scared. He sells the whole redemption story, and he’s really good. It took everything inside her to make him believe she was coming to his side.

Kristina arrives at DOD. Sam says she was concerned about Kristina and Valerie having a fight, and she talked to Shiloh. Kristina says she’s in no mood for a lecture. She just got a lecture from Molly. Sam’s not going to give her one. Sam says, Kristina has told her that she knows what she’s doing, and Shiloh has his eye on her, and she believes him.

Alexis tells Neil that she feels unsettled. She had a near miss with a homicidal maniac. You can’t blame her. He asks if she’s hearing blame. Ha says, she’s hearing him think she’s holding something back. There’s something left to tell. She says, there’s always things left out; there are always neuroses to conquer. He says, there’s no quick fix, but if she keeps up the hard work, she’ll reap the benefits.

Valentin tells Anna that he can’t help her. He’s not in touch with Alex. Anna says that doesn’t mean he doesn’t know how to reach her. He tells her, there’s no secret brotherhood of nefarious characters. She says she’d be on it. He gets up, and she tells him, this is important, and she’ll consider it making amends. Valentin sits back down. He says he’s serious; he doesn’t know where she is, but he’ll put out feelers. He might know someone who can reach her.

Sonny reaches for the gun, and Raj tells him not to be a hero. Sonny tells him to let Dante go and there won’t be any trouble. Raj says Dante has already told him everything he needs to know. Sonny asks if Raj tortured Dante; he’ll make Raj bleed. Raj says the only person who’s going to bleed is Sonny. He holds out his gun to Dante, and asks him to do the honors.

Chase says Finn is genuinely concerned for his well-being. Finn says, of course. Chase is kind of his responsibility. He tells Chase to wipe the grin off his face, and Chase says, no can do. He never thought he’d see his big brother coddle him. Finn starts to leave, and Chase thanks him. Seriously. It means a lot. Finn tells him, just be safe out there. Chase tells Finn, be safe. He’s the one dating a super spy. Finn leaves, and Chase smiles.

Anna tells Valentin to inform Alex that she knows about the experiment, and can provide a remedy. Valentin thinks she’ll be skeptical. They didn’t part on the best terms. Anna says, she’ll know it for what it is – the truth. She’ll come to Alex, and the whole nightmare will be over. Valentin would like to believe that, but he thinks in opening the door to a past nightmare, it will just be beginning. Anna ponders this.

Neil says, time’s up. Alexis says she just got there, and he says maybe she’ll be on time for the next session. She says, he doesn’t believe her, does he? and he says, that’s not his job. She hopes things work out, and Kristina and Valerie can be friends again, but if not, she knows Kristina will be okay. Sam says she has to get the kids. Shiloh hopes she’ll consider what they talked about, and she says she will. She leaves, and Shiloh tells Kristina that Sam shared a little of what happened between her and her friend. It sounds like a rough night. Kristina says the negativity was turning in her head, but she succeeded in cutting it out and cut it off

Michael says the harder they go at Kristina, the faster she’ll run. Molly says he might be the one person left who can reach her. He asks, how? and Molly suggests pulling the loan, blocking her road to enlightenment. See how Shiloh reacts when she has no money to pay for the seminars. Jason flashes back to when he was in the hospital, and Shiloh telling him that Sam is evolving, and he was trespassing on private property.

Shiloh tells Kristina that he applauds her positivity. The forces of conformity are not easily foiled. She says she stood up to her sister, and it felt good. She’s severing ties, and telling them that if they can’t accept her choices, she can’t accept their presence in her life. She feels lighter, freer. Shiloh is proud that the work she’s done has paid off, and thinks she’s ready for the next step.

Raj takes bullets out of the gun, and tells Dante that he doesn’t need more than one. It’s a shame Sonny has come such a long way to see his first born. He’ll find that Dante doesn’t want to come home. He’s happy where he is. Sonny asks what Raj did to him, and Raj says, Dante is there of his free will. He’s eager to be part of the organization. At least that’s what he claims. Now is his chance to prove it. He tells Dante, take the gun and kill his father. Sonny shakes his head.

On Monday, Jordan tells Curtis that they should talk about it, Lulu wishes Dante was home, Anna asks which part of her life belongs to her, and someone gets shot in Turkey.

👯 The Show Must Go On… And On…. And On…

While I’ve never recapped the show, I’ve enjoyed Dance Moms off and on over the years. Although she often seemed like a tyrant, I never thought Abby was any crankier than Debbie Allen on Fame. At least Abby doesn’t carry a big stick. I also thought she was one of those white collar criminals who, because they’re a C-list celebrity, got made an example of. Like what Joe Giudice is living right now. Despite her time in the pokey, and major health problems, Abby Lee Miller is back in Dance Moms: Resurrection – ha-ha! sounds like Jason or Freddy Krueger – premiering June 4th at 8 pm on Lifetime.

🍀 May Your O’Weekend Be Filled With Pots O’ Gold…

And no bad behavior (at least, not too bad) or green beer hangovers. I used to hate St. Patrick’s Day when I worked in NYC. The parade made getting around the city a misery, but even worse were the amateur drinkers, who were often already sitting on the curb, sick, by noon. Seriously. You don’t have to. And no, I won’t kiss you because you’re Irish. Or wearing a T-shirt that says that.

And God knows, it’s not St. Patrick’s Day without a Peke.
