What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

On the phone, Anna says she asked Jack to keep her informed, so if he insists on avoiding her phone calls, she’ll be forced to come down to his fancy, high-tech office to get answers. She did agree to deniability. She didn’t agree to a full-on information blackout. So if he’s going to take action to bring Sasha back, he’s going to have to give her a heads up, yeah? Thank you. Ric walks in and asks if it’s a bad time.

Olivia answers the door and it’s Alexis. She says, me again, and Olivia hugs her. Alexis says she told Scout that she would come back and say goodnight to her, and Olivia says, of course (🍷). She knows where Scout’s room is, right? Alexis thanks her and goes upstairs.

Brook finds Dante on the patio and asks if he’s all right. He’s been out here for a while. He says he came out to clear his head a little bit, but she says, he could do that inside where there’s heat. He says he’s all right, but she asks if he’s not a little cold. Dante says, honestly, he doesn’t know what he is right now.

Tracy walks into the stables, where Cody is shoveling hay. She says she has a house full of hungry children who are being forced to subsist on stale crackers and boxed beverages, and he says he has some leftover pizza in the fridge upstairs, but he doubts it’s enough for the army she keeps at the house. She says, just point her in the direction of his irresponsible and unreliable girlfriend, and he says, Sasha? She says, who else? She was willing to keep an open mind and give her a second chance, but this is how Sasha repays her, by disappearing. He says, if Sasha took off, he’s sorry, but he’s the last person she would tell.

Holly wonders why there’s not any news yet. Chief Brennan and Jason left ages ago. Robert says, these operations take time, and she says, it’s been 24 hours since Jenz abducted Sasha. If he’s touched a single hair on her head… He says, knowing Brennan and Jason Morgan, there’s not going to be anything left of this guy to kick. She says she’s going to get some air, but he asks her to stay with him. Relax. She says, that’s not going to happen no matter what she does, and he says, then be all twirly up beside him. Stay. She asks, why? So he can make sure she doesn’t do something to make things worse? Tell her the truth. Is that what she is to him? A problem?

In a warehouse stairwell, Jack radios for his men to hold their position. Nobody move without my go.

Jason walks into the warehouse, and Sidwell says he told Holly to bring them herself. Jason says, Sidwell wanted the diamonds, so here he is, and Sidwell says, apparently, Sasha was right. Her mother really doesn’t care if she lives or dies. He’s just sorry he won’t see Holly’s lovely face when she finds out her daughter’s dead.

Alexis tells Olivia, Scout was fast asleep. She envies her. Olivia asks if she can get Alexis anything, but Alexis says, no. Please thank Monica for letting the kids stay here. Olivia says, she’s their grandmother. This is their house too. Alexis too. If she wants to stick around close by… Alexis says, if she’s going to stay up all night, it’s best that she does it in her own bed, and Olivia says, just know that the door is always open. There’s a lot of beds in this place. Alexis says she thinks that Scout and Danny should live with her. She knows that Scout’s father lives here, but if he gets elected, he’ll live in Washington DC a good deal of the time. Olivia says she guesses that’s probably true, and Alexis says she’s not sure Jason is prepared to raise a teenager. Olivia says, who is? But she thought things between Jason and Danny were good. Alexis says, Sam was worried about Jason’s influence on Danny, and Olivia says, right. She thought Dante said things were good on the Sam and Jason front. Alexis says she doesn’t think Sam would want Jason to raise Danny alone, and Olivia says she sees Alexis’s point. Alexis says, so she thinks the sooner they stabilize them at her place, it will be best for them.

Brook thanks Dante for taking pity on her and coming inside. Does he want something to eat? He says, they just had dinner, and she says, they had dinner, but he didn’t eat anything. He says, with everything going on in this house, how does she know what he’s doing? and she says she knows his secrets. He forgets, when they were kids, he taught her to hide the peas under the mashed potatoes. He says, sometimes he forgets how long they’ve known each other, and she says her too, but she can still tell when he’s hiding his feelings. He asks if she wants him to fall apart in front of the kids, and she says, good thing there are no kids around right now. Tell her, what is he thinking and feeling? He says he’s thinking he doesn’t know how he’s going to take care of their family on his own without Sam.

Tracy says, Cody hasn’t heard from Sasha? and he says, nope, and he doesn’t expect to. She says, what did he do? (ha-ha! again someone assumes it must be him) and he says, for once, he didn’t mess anything up. Turns out he and Sasha are cousins. First cousins. Tracy laughs and says, how? He says, Sasha just found out that Robert Scorpio’s her father, and she says, Robert? Wow… wow. She guesses she can still be surprised. So if Robert’s her father, who’s her… He says, Holly Sutton, and she says, wow. That’s not surprising. Disturbing, but not surprising. Did Holly raise Sasha? Cody says, no. Sasha’s grandmother did, but Holly was around. She says, as upsetting as this is, consider himself lucky that he dodged a bullet.

Anna tells Ric, it’s late. She’s busy. He says, this won’t take long. Ava Jerome’s trial is coming up soon. Despite recent tragic events, he still has a duty to defend his client to the best of his ability. She says, then why is he here speaking to her instead of anywhere else talking to his client? He says, it seems Ava’s arrest is based solely on some photographs from unknown origin that were taken at the time of Kristina’s accident. And basic rules of discovery require the state to provide the defense with all known evidence. She says, he should have been provided with copies of those photos. She can check with the DA’s office. He says he has his copies. What he wants to know is, where did she get them?

Holly says she should have taken those diamonds to Sidwell herself. That’s what he wanted. Robert says, Sidwell’s demand that she bring him those diamonds was a trap, but she says, they don’t know that. He says, they’re going to find out, and she says she thought he didn’t trust Jack Brennan. He says he and Jack have had their differences over the years, but he’s always known Jack to be a good man to have on your side. She asks if he’s on Sasha’s side, and he says, as is Jason Morgan. She says, so many things can go wrong, and he says, as difficult as this is, they have to trust that Brennan and Jason can bring Sasha back to them.

Sasha tries the door again, then looks around the room. She sees there’s a vent in the wall, and rifles through drawers until she finds a letter opener.

Jason says he has the diamonds. Does Sidwell want them or not? Sidwell says he should kill Jason now, and Jason says, he can try. Sidwell says, let him see them, and Jason tosses one to him, Sidwell catching it like he’s an MLB player. He looks at it and asks, where are the rest? Jason says, show him Sasha, and he’ll show Sidwell the diamonds. Where is she? Sidwell says, she’s close by, but she doesn’t have much time. So the rest of the diamonds – now.

Cody says he thought things were getting better between Tracy and Sasha, and Tracy says, they were. Then she found out Holly Sutton was Sasha’s mother. He says, Sasha’s not her mom, but she says, please. Whatever parent you don’t want to emulate, that’s the one you become most like. (Oh great.) Her mother was a wonderful woman. You know what she got? Her eyelashes. He says, they’re very nice, and she thanks him. She says, even if he and Sasha weren’t cousins, their relationship was doomed to fail, and he says, she doesn’t know Sasha like he does. She’s nothing like her parents. She says, that’s the nature versus nurture debate. Is someone born untrustworthy, or do they learn to be that way? He says, Tracy has admitted to some underhanded stuff in her life too, but she says she’s not marrying herself and she’s not suggesting anybody else does. He says he’s not going to let her make Sasha out to be the bad guy. Even if she did pull a few cons, that just makes her more perfect for him. Tracy laughs and asks how he can say that. He says, because he’s been conning people his whole life. There was a long time when his entire focus was seeing what he could get out of this world. She says, he’s not that person anymore, but he tells her that she wouldn’t say that if she knew what he pulled the other day.

Brook says, Dante doesn’t have to make any big decisions right now. And he and the kids can stay here as long as he likes. Everyone loves having them here, even Tracy. He laughs and says, now he knows she’s lying. It just doesn’t feel like they can be a family without Sam. She says, they already are a family. He just has to keep being the amazing dad he already is. He says, she didn’t turn out so bad herself, and she says, obviously, when Chase walks in. He tells Dante, if there’s anything he needs or wants… Dante thanks him, and Chase tells Brook that he’s sorry he missed dinner. He got hung up at the station. She says, he’s here now. That’s all that matters. He asks if there are any leftovers, and she says, lots. She’ll make him a plate. They leave as Dante sadly watches.

Alexis asks if Dante has said anything about where he and Rocco are going to live, and Olivia says she thinks right now, he’s just trying to put one foot in front of the other. He loved Sam so much. Alexis says, she loved him right back, and Olivia says, she loved Rocco as her own. It’s not always that way. You hear stories. They never referred to themselves as a blended family. They were just a family. Alexis says, Sam was her wild child. She certainly never expected Sam to settle down with a family and be the anchor in it. Olivia starts to cry and says she can’t believe Sam’s gone, and Alexis says, what they say about how mothers aren’t supposed to outlive their children is true.

Ric says, Anna’s name was listed as the officer that logged the photos into evidence. That means she was the one to receive them. She says, that’s true, and he says, great. So where did she get them? She tells him, as she said in her statement, during the course of their preliminary investigation, the photos were brought to her attention depicting a physical altercation between Ava Jerome and Kristina Corinthos-Davis. He says he read it. It’s a terrific statement, by the way. She thanks him, and he says, what he wants to know is, who took those incredibly convenient photos? She says, it’s interesting he thinks they were convenient. They do make his client look rather guilty. He says, the providence of those photos matters and is at best dubious. It’s just one more example of the PCPD’s mishandling of Ava Jerome’s case and another reason her case should be thrown out.

Jack asks if there’s any movement in the rear of the building, and jets down a staircase.

Jason says he’ll hand over the diamonds after he gets proof of life, and Sidwell says, fine. He shows Jason his phone and we see Sasha messing with the vent. Sidwell says, you really do have to admire someone who doesn’t just wait for fate to fall in their lap. It’s really to bad she won’t have enough time to get out. Jason says, where is she? and Sidwell says, somewhere on the five floors. There are 30 offices in this building. Give him the diamonds; avoid the scavenger hunt. Jason says he’s good at finding things, but Sidwell says he’s not sure Jason will have time to disarm the bomb in the room with her before, boom! It goes off. Once he sets the timer, Sasha only has five minutes to live. He really does find a timer increases efficiency and cooperation. He sets the timer, shows Jason his phone, and says, your move, Mr. Morgan.

Sasha hears the beeping and starts looking around.

Jason hands Sidwell the diamonds, and says, where is she? Sidwell says, room 533, and Jason takes off. Sidwell calls, good luck. He’ll have to be very good at finding things.

Sasha opens a cupboard in the desk and sees the bomb.

Tracy asks what horrible thing Cody has done, and he says he agreed to keep quiet about what a sleaze Drew is. She asks why he’d do that, and he says, because Drew paid him $50,000. She says, he’s a politician. He paid for Cody’s silence. Cody says, Drew paid him to keep something quiet he doesn’t want the voters to know, and she says, that he made out with Willow and was banging her mom? He says, how…? and she says, the whole family knows. They actually paid someone to make sure the bar incident doesn’t go viral. He says, so they know he punched Drew, and she says, he needs to be much smarter going forward. He says he knows he shouldn’t have gotten drunk and he shouldn’t have gone after Drew, but she says, no. He should have held out for $100,000. (A woman after my own heart, but he should have held out for $6 million.)

Chase asks, how’s Rocco doing? and Dante says, he’s quiet. He and Danny are just trying to support Scout. Brook says, it’s the best thing those kids can do. Draw strength from each other. Chase says, Rocco was just so happy when he saw them at the Surf Lodge. He seemed more excited about the engagement than Dante was. Brook says, Dante and Sam were engaged? and Dante says he asked her when she woke up from her surgery. Brook says she’s so sorry and hugs him, and Dante says he’s going to go check on Rocco, and leaves. Brook says she just managed to make a heartbreaking situation even worse, and Chase says, there’s no worse for Dante right now. She says, it just keeps getting sadder, and they hug.

Ric says, there were several grievous lapses in procedure leading up to Ava’s arrest, and Anna says, enlighten her. He says, for one, she was initially interviewed by Detective Dante Falconari, the brother of the alleged victim, and Anna says, correct. Detective Falconari was first on the scene and was unaware that the room from which Kristina fell was, in fact, Miss Jerome’s. Then when Miss Jerome was brought in for custody, Detective Chase took over the questioning. He says, there was no reason for them to hold Ava, but then Jason Morgan shows up and Ava gets arrested. She asks what he’s implying, cause and effect? but he says, no. He’s asking her flat out. Was Jason the one that provided her with the photos in question? She says, the photos were taken by a private investigator by the name of Demitri Putnam. Mr. Putnam was hired by Sonny Corinthos regarding an ongoing custody case involving his… He asks if Sonny gave her those pictures, but she says, no. Sonny was at GH finding out if his daughter was going to live or die. He says, so Jason was Sonny’s errand boy as per usual, and Anna says she thinks he’s using this case to stick it to Sonny, the brother he hates, as per usual. He says he doesn’t know of any other Police Commissioner who would believe a known criminal. For the life of him, he can’t think of one. She says, he might want to sleep on it or think about it somewhere else, and he says, the fact that she’s willing to believe Jason Morgan says one of two things. Either personal malice towards his client or incredible naïveté on her part. Which is it, Commissioner?

Jason runs through the building trying doors and yelling Sasha’s name. She says she’s here, and he says, get away from the door. She says, he’s clear, and he kicks it in. She runs past him and says, 47 seconds. He runs out behind her.

On the stairs, Jack says he needs an update, dammit.

Sasha and Jason tear through the building, and we see there’s about 5 seconds left.

Jack says, come on, when the building explodes. Jack is tossed back.

Brook says she’s sorry it’s been such a sad homecoming, but Chase says, it’s part of being together, through the good times and the bad. She says she missed him every second he was in Seattle. She doesn’t sleep well if he’s not next to her. His snoring soothes her. He says he does not snore, and she laughs. He says he hopes she knows how much he loves their life together, and he never wants her to think he’d take it or her for granted. She says she loves him too. She always knew how lucky they were, but now… He says he knows, and kisses her.

Tracy says, Cody knows that Drew owns Aurora and a boatload of ELQ stock, and he settled for $50,000, but he says he had no intention of going to the press. She says, he just thought it was important for the bar patrons to know, but not the general public, and he says he was drunk. She says, that much was clear, and he says he’d love to show the people what’s under that perfect politician’s smile Drew is always flashing around, but he doesn’t want to hurt Willow or Michael. They have kids. He’d never blow up a family. She says she wishes Drew felt the same way, and he says, Drew just waltzed in here. Drew didn’t even ask what he intended on doing. Drew just assumed he could be bought. She says she thinks Drew assumes most people can be bought and he’s not wrong. He says he found it insulting, and she says she thinks this situation proves Drew is a real Quartermaine.

Alexis hands Olivia Sam’s engagement ring and says she didn’t know if Olivia had a chance to see it. Through her tears, Olivia says, he came running over here just as soon as he bought it. He was so excited to share his big plans. It’s a beautiful ring. Alexis says, it really is, and Olivia says she knows it sounds crazy, but some part of her is happy that her son got to propose to the woman he loved more than anything and have her say yes. Alexis says, she was so happy… and Olivia says she hopes this doesn’t come out the wrong way, but she’s actually glad Alexis was there with Sam. Alexis wipes her tears away and says her too. Olivia hands the ring back to Alexis.

Anna says, if Ric is done haranguing her, he can leave, and he says, Robin is close to Jason Morgan and Sonny Corinthos. That’s not really a question. Everybody knows it. She says, since he doesn’t need her for this conversation, please have it somewhere else, and he says he thinks she’s too close to known criminals and as a result, she’s willing to bend the rules for them. She says, that’s quite an accusation. For the record – for his record anyway – she’s done nothing wrong. He says, so she’s willing to believe Jason Morgan wouldn’t lie to her. Okay. He guesses they’ve got their answer. Naïve it is. Her phone rings, and she tells him to see himself out. She answers and says, yes… Where?

On the phone, Robert says, what?… A bomb?… The warehouse blew up? Holly says, did Sasha get out? and Robert says, what about their daughter? Is she alive? Holly says she can’t stand this. She’s going to find Sasha. She dashes out, and Robert follows.

Brook tells Chase that things have been so crazy and sad, they’ve barely had a minute to themselves. She wants to hear about everything that happened in Seattle. Every detail, preferably the happy ones. Chase says, for starters, it was so good to see Finn acting like his old self again, and she says, Violet must have been so happy to be with him again. He says, as soon as they landed, she couldn’t stop smiling, and she says she knows Violet belongs with her dad, but she really, really misses her. He says, Brook was a great mom to her while she was here. Violet wanted him to give her a message. She asks if Violet forgot something, and he says, a two-page list, but that’s not the message. Violet wanted him to remind her that she still wants a cousin, and in her words, she doesn’t want to wait forever. She says, then they’d better take this thing seriously, and he says, they weren’t taking it seriously before? She says she means, if they want to have a baby, there are things they can do to make that happen (um… like having sex?), and he says, she means something like this? and kisses her.

Cody says, Tracy sounds like she’s proud of Drew for going after his nephew’s wife, but she says, not at all. It’s just that there’s a Quartermaine trait that all of the family men have in common. He says, they cheat? and she says, eventually, even her dearly beloved father. Of course (🍷) not Jason. Although he doesn’t remember the first twenty years of his life, so he’s not off the hook yet. Cody says, it’s a great family legacy she’s got there. He’s sure she could go on for hours at the club just bragging about it. She says she doesn’t have to. Everybody knows. But it’s the nature/nurture conversation again. Philandering is definitely in the family DNA, but Drew didn’t grow up in the family. But there you have it. His roots are finally starting to show.

Dante and Alexis hug and he says he didn’t know she was here. She says she came to say goodnight to Scout, and Olivia leaves to check on the kids. Dante says, Scout was sleeping pretty good, and Alexis says, Scout was sleeping when she checked on her too. He says he guesses grief is pretty exhausting, and she says, yep. She’s been trying to work on necessary funeral arrangements. She’s pretty sure he doesn’t want to… He says, whatever she decides is best. He sees the plastic bag with the ring in it and takes the ring out. She says she brought that over for him because she didn’t know if he wanted to keep it or have Sam wear it. He says, it feels like he bought this ages ago, and he flashes back to showing it to Olivia, who tells him, it’s beautiful, and hugs him. He tells Olivia, let’s hope Sam feels the same way.

Jack – who has miraculously survived even though we don’t know how – brings Sasha and Jason to his office and says, wait here. He leaves, and Jason asks if Sasha is okay. She says she thinks so. She’s still breathing. She thanks him for the rescue, and he says, sure. She asks how he got dragged into this. They barely know each other. He says, Carly was there when Sidwell grabbed her and he was in Africa with Holly. She asks if he knew Holly made off with Sidwell’s diamonds, but he says, not until a few days ago. She asks where the diamonds are now, and he says, with Sidwell. Her mom gave up the diamonds to save her.

Anna arrives at the warehouse, where firefighters are running around, and she asks Dex what they’ve got. He says he and his partner responded to reports of an explosion. When they arrived, no other parties were on the scene. She says, inside? and he says, it’s supposed to be vacant, but they won’t know until the fire is put out. She says, forensics? and he says, standing by. She asks if they talked to anyone, and he says, canvassing the area, they turned up some third shift workers. They heard the explosion, but they didn’t see anything. They did find this though. He shows her an evidence bag, and she says, it doesn’t prove anything, but she’s pretty sure of whose it is. (It’s unclear what’s in the bag.)

Jack brings Holly and Robert to his office, and Holly runs to Sasha, hugging her and saying, thank God. Is she okay? Sasha says she’s alive, and Holly says she’s never been more pleased to see her. Robert thanks Jason, and Jack says, no worries, mate. You’re welcome. Robert asks if Sidwell got out, but Jack says, they never saw him or the diamonds after the explosion. Robert says, he got away? and Jack says, looks like it. Robert asks Sasha if she’s okay. Should they call a doctor? Sasha says she’s fine. She’s sorry Sidwell got away. He says, she’s here. That’s all that matters. He moves awkwardly toward her, and she hugs him. She thanks him for saving her.

Brook says, there are things they can do to improve their chances, and Chase says, she’s not going to stand on her head after, but she says she’s not talking about that. She’s been doing some reading herself. There’s a system they can try, like tracking her cycle and taking her temperature. Maybe they can get one of those ovulation predictors. He says he’s willing to do whatever it takes, but he doesn’t want to lose them being spontaneous, and she says, never. He says, tonight, they’ll do it the old-fashioned way, and tomorrow, they’ll get her a calendar and everything she needs. She says, it’s a deal. However it happens, she can’t wait to make a baby with him. He says, that makes two of us.

Tracy asks where Cody’s ill-gotten gains are now, and he says, his checking account? She laughs and he says he never had enough money for a savings account. She says she’s going to teach him how to invest, and he says, cool. She says, and while he’s living on these grounds, he’s going to keep his eyes on Drew. And when he strays, which he will, they’ll be waiting. He says, the two of them? and she says, the two of them. They’re in this together now. He says, anything that involves bringing down Drew, count him in. (Me too!)

Alexis tells Dante that she doesn’t want to rush into things, but she wants to give the kids as much stability as she can. He says him too, and she says she knows he’s hurting, but she wants to talk to him about something. He says, okay, and she says she thinks Danny and Scout should live with her. She’s sorry. She doesn’t know if he had other plans. He says he just thought they’d all live together here. Just for the time being. She says, for now it’s good. It’s familiar and there are a lot of people around. It will keep them from feeling lonely and alone without their mom. He says he really thought they would grow old together, and she says, that was the way it was supposed to be. He says he can’t imagine his life without her, and they hug.

A firefighter tells Anna, no signs that anyone was in the building when it went up, and she asks him to let her know when they find the origin of the explosion. He says, will do, and she thanks him. She asks an officer to tell the bomb squad that she wants to know what kind of incendiary device was used. And find out who owns this warehouse. The officer leaves, and Anna tells Dex that she wants them to do another canvas of the area. There has to be an eyewitness out there and she wants him talking to them. Surveillance footage, do they have it. Streetcams, everything. She wants him to get it.

Sasha says she couldn’t leave the room, but Jason got in. He saved her. Holly says she’s not sure she can ever thank him enough, and he says he’s just glad it all worked out. His phone rings, and he steps out to take the call. Holly says, he just goes on and on, doesn’t he?

In the hallway, Jason says, yeah, and Anna says she’s at a crime scene, an explosion at a warehouse. Meet her in her office in twenty. She wants some answers.

Sasha asks if Holly really gave up the diamonds for her or were they fake? but Holly says, they were real. She wasn’t going to risk Jenz thinking he’d been tricked. Robert says, they were real. No question. Sasha says, why, mother? and Holly says, because like those diamonds, the love she feels for Sasha is real. And whether Sasha believes it or not, there’s nothing more important in this world to her than Sasha.

On Monday, Willow says she thought she and Drew were on the same page; Felicia tells Sasha to give her mother a second chance before it’s too late; Mac wants to know what Holly’s pulled Robert into; and Anna asks how long Jason has been lying to her.

🧂 A Dash Of Salt…

I’m so over these Housewives lawsuits.

💎 Clutching Their Diamonds…

The new season starts November 19th. A lot of Kyle angst in the trailer. I’m over that too.

https://www.justjared.com/2024/11/07/real-housewives-of-beverly-hills-trailer-teases-explosive-season-14-amid-3-cast-exits-plus-premiere-date-revealed/

Does DIRECTV still exist? Do you know anyone with DIRECTV? I had a neighbor who had it for like, five minutes, and didn’t recommend it. Although I came very close to signing up when they took on Passions after it’s CBS cancelation. I’m glad I didn’t because the show was gone in a matter of months.

I only included this because, LVP mention. It’s not all that interesting.

🐪 But I Came For the Camels…

I’m sorry to hear this. I thought these women were a little different than the Housewives norm. And I love Stanbury.

It’s no surprise she got involved in this. There’s nobody more authentic. I am surprised she never got a movie made about Susan though. She would have been perfect for the role.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

In her office, Carly looks at her divorce papers, and flashes back to her and Sonny in their better/younger days. They dance on the terrace. Ava comes to the door, and says, you rang? Carly asks Ava to have a seat, but Ava says she’ll stand. Unless the news is really that bad. Carly says, just the opposite. She’s about to make Ava’s day.

Sonny wakes up on the couch, and sees Nina sitting in a chair next to him. She says, they have to stop meeting like this.

At the gym, Marshall is out of breath, and Curtis asks if he’s good. Marshall says he is, but Curtis gives him some water. Marshall says he thinks he went at it a little too hard, when Drew walks in. Curtis says, the man of the hour.

Robert whips Mac’s wheelchair through the hospital, and Mac sarcastically tells him to take the curves a little faster. Robert asks, since when did Mac become a grandpa? and Mac says, since he became a grandpa. He reminds Robert that he’s one too, by the way. Robert says, and proud of it. They hear Stella laugh, and she says, attention everyone. Time to get loud in here. They all applaud, as Anna and Felicia walk in, and Stella shakes their hands, saying, they’re amazing. Mac gets up, and Felicia asks what he’s doing; sit back down. He asks who’s going to make him, and hugs her. Robert can tell Anna doesn’t seem too happy.

Brook picks up Mr. Snuggles and looks at Chase. Ned asks if there’s anything he can do, but she says, nothing. He asks if he can’t warm up a bottle or something, but she says she means it. She has everything under control, and he can go home. Ned says he think he’ll stay if they don’t mind, and Chase says he thinks it’s a great idea. Brook says she just doesn’t want him to get all… He says, what? and she says, emotional. She knows how he feels about Bailey. What if he falls apart? Ned says, then he falls apart. In due time, he’ll pull himself back together. The doorbell rings, and Chase asks if Brook is ready. She opens the door to Maxie, and they hug. Brook says, it’s good to see her. She was so worried. Ned says, they all were. Did she just land? Maxie says she did. She dropped her mom off at GH, so she could see Mac, and came straight there. Ned says, this might sound like a dumb question, but how is she doing? Maxie asks how much time he has, and Brook says she can’t even wrap her mind around it. First, Maxie saves the baby from Peter, then Peter kidnaps her and hauls her halfway around the world, and then she goes toe-to-toe with the psychopath and comes out on top. Maxie says, she could sleep for a week, but there really was no other option. She had to get home to her daughter, or die trying. Brook says they’re really glad it was option A, and Maxie says, her too. Chase says, and that this whole Peter nightmare is over, and Maxie says, Peter won’t be threatening Louise or anyone ever again. Her mom and Anna made sure of it.

Mac and Felicia kiss, and Stella tells everyone to get back to work. You never know what these two will get into. Robert tells Mac to get his butt back in the chair before he finishes up in ICU. Felicia says, Robert’s right, but Mac says he just wants one more look to make sure she’s in one piece. She says she’s fine, and Robert says he hopes the same can’t be said for Peter. Felicia tells Mac to get back to his room, and she’ll fill them in on everything. Mac says he wants every detail, and Felicia wheels him away. Robert tells Anna, he figures Mac is probably good for another hundred years at least. Hopefully, Maxie stays safe and Peter stays dead. By the way, he’s nominated her to get the keys to the city. She says, he didn’t, and he says, sure did. She says, then unnominate her.

Portia tells Stella, that was exciting. Now back to reality. What can she get Stella? Stella says her doctor is out of town, and his fill-in wants to change up her blood thinner. She’d ask TJ, but she can’t track him down. Portia says she’s more than happy to help Stella, and Stella says, not one, but two doctors in the family. Portia says, the family, and Stella says, so-to-speak, but she hears things might be moving in that direction. She hopes Portia has room enough in that house for Curtis and his oversized pride.

Drew tells Curtis not to go overboard. He was more a glorified bystander in that whole thing. Curtis says, glorified bystanders don’t get caught in a gunfight and save the day, and Marshall says, Drew better get used to those praises. He hears they’re calling for a national holiday. Curtis says, Drew remembers Marshall, and they shake hands. Drew says he and Marshall met about a month ago at The Savoy, but they never got a chance to talk. Marshall says, that’s because Drew’s been busy with those heroics he doesn’t want to talk about. It’s impressive that he was able to go adventuring at all. He’s one of the precious few who could cross Sonny Corinthos and live to tell about it.

Nina gives Sonny some water and aspirin, and he says she might want to leave the whole bottle. She says, that bad, and he says he’s had worse. When did she get here? She says, last night; he asked her to bring him home. He says, last night? and she says, he was at Charlie’s, and he was wasted, as the kids say – if they still say it like that – and he called her and left a message. Any of this ring a bell? He says, sometimes he overdoes it, and it gets a little hazy, and she asks if that worries him. He asks if she was here all night, and she says, yeah; it’s becoming a pattern. He says, did we… but she says, no. She just wanted to make sure he was okay, but now that he’s up, she has to get going. He grabs her hand and says, she doesn’t have to go.

Ava tells Carly, that’s some bait. Almost enough to get her to walk into a trap. Carly says, it’s not a trap. Would she have a seat so they can do this? Ava says, let’s do this, and sits. She asks what Carly could possibly say that would brighten her day, and Carly says, she and Sonny are getting a divorce. Ava says she wasn’t expecting news of that magnitude, and Carly says, she had no idea? Ava says she knew there were issues, and those issues weren’t so easily smoothed over, and Carly says, Ava’s little friend Nina has kept her in the loop. Ava says, the subject’s come up, and Carly asks if that’s because Nina won’t stop talking about it, or has Ava been coaching her all along?

Portia says, Stella heard correctly. Curtis is going to be living with her until they find a place of their own. Stella says, big step, and Portia says, one that they’re both excited to take. Stella says she can’t wait for the housewarming, and Portia says, really? Stella says, Curtis is ready. He acts all independent, but he’s a homebody at heart. Besides, he could use a break from looking after her, and get himself looked after for a change. Portia says, she’s got the wrong girl for that, but Stella says she’s not asking Portia to coddle him; just keep an eye out. Portia says, an eye out for what? and Stella says, trouble.

Drew says, things got a little dicey at The Savoy that night, but that was a one-off, and Curtis says, he thinks it was less about the club than the current state of Sonny’s marriage. Drew says, exactly. Despite what Marshall saw, he and Sonny go way back. That behavior’s not him. Marshall says he’ll take Drew’s word for that, and Drew says, Sonny is actually a pretty considerate guy, and generous to a fault. If Marshall got to know him, he’d probably agree. Marshall says, he thinks he’ll pass. It’s been his experience that guys like Sonny are generous because they have an awful lot to make up for. Curtis looks at Marshall.

Nina says she has a meeting, but Sonny tells her, postpone it; she’s the boss. She says, a boss with a reputation in dire need of rehab. He asks, for what? and she says, leaving her whole staff in the lurch, and general irresponsibility. He says, she’s not irresponsible. He wouldn’t be here otherwise. At least let him thank her for bringing him home, and make her breakfast. Come on. She says, on two conditions, and he says, name it. She says she really needs a side of hot sauce. He says, she’s got it, and she says, and a huge helping of honesty.

Ava says, leave it to Carly to somehow make her divorce Ava’s fault, but Carly says, no. It’s Nina and Sonny’s fault; they’re consenting adults. No one forced can force them to lie, much less hop into bed together. But she can’t help wondering if Ava gave Nina advice on how to make that happen. Ava says, so Carly called her over here to give her the news about the divorce, and interrogate her about her association with Nina? Carly says, that’s not why she called Ava here, and Ava says, then why? Carly says, Avery.

Anna says, Robert has no business making a spectacle of her life, and he says, Peter ran hell on this town, and the good citizens have a right to know that it’s over, and what better than the hero herself to tell them? She says she’s not a hero. She doesn’t know what he’s envisioning here; a blow-by-blow account of Peter’s last moments? She doesn’t know what anyone wants her to say. He says, what about the truth? and she says, the truth is, she never did right by him, ever, and now he’s dead. She just let him die. She tears up, and says, oh my God, it’s not something she’s proud of

Ned says, that was quite the adventure, and Maxie says, that’s one word for it. Ned says, he’s so relived they all made it back in one piece. Is there anything she needs; anything they ca do for her? She says, no. It’s finally her turn to do something for them. Take her daughter home.

After breakfast, Sonny tells Nina, sorry about the eggs; they’re not his best. She tells him that he’s already breaking the deal – straight talk. These eggs were perfection. Clearly, he hasn’t lost his touch. She looks around, and says, this place is truly striking, and he says, for years he barely used it. She says, he kept it anyway, and he says, it holds a lot of memories. She says, his connection with his friend Stone, and Sonny says, Stone was his best friend. He misses Stone. He used to come here, and spend time to himself. She says, a refuge of sorts, and he says, something like that. Now it’s just home. She asks what he means, and he shows her the divorce papers, and says, it’s over.

Carly says, Ava is going to hear it from Sonny, so she might as well hear it from Carly now. Sonny’s moving out. He’s going to take Avery with him to his penthouse at Harborview Towers. Ava says, and Carly will stay with Donna at the lake house, and Carly says, yes. She hates the idea of Avery being away from her home and her sister. Ava says, Avery adores Donna, and Carly says, they need to come up with a way Donna doesn’t suffer, but Ava says, Avery loves Carly. There’s no getting around it. She is going to suffer. Carly asks, how do they make her suffer less?

Felicia says she has the feeling Mac is going to pay a price for that smooth move of his, but he says, it was worth it. She agrees, and he says, when he realized she took off to go after Maxie… She says, he was jealous? and he says, he was terrified. Promise she’ll never do anything like that again, not without him. She says, that depends, and he says, on what? She says, whether he promises not to go to the OR or emergency surgery again. He says he’ll try, and she says, then she will too. They kiss, and he asks when he gets to see their girl. She says, not until their girl sees her girl. Maxie is picking up Louise as they speak. He says Felicia could have gone, and she says she knows, but this was something Maxie had to do alone.

Ned tells Maxie, the baby was napping, so it might take a minute to get her up and ready. Is this how she imagined this moment, getting her daughter back? She says, no, never. She never imagined it at all actually. She would imagine this whole thing being over. She imagined Peter dying lots of times. She got creative with it. He bit it in all kinds of ways. Hyenas, comets, dunked in a fryer – Ned laughs – sandblasted even. He says, she did get creative, and she says, she had three deaths for every letter of the alphabet, so she imagined Peter dying a lot. But when she got to the part where she’d bring Louise home, everything would go dark. He wonders why, and she says, the more time that went on, the less sure she felt Louise would want come home with her, and if that were the case, would she be strong enough to leave her here with Brook? Ned says, Louise is hers, and Maxie says, is she though? Brook is the only mother she’s known. Brook and Chase bring Louise in.

Portia tells Stella, sorry, it was a false alarm. Where were they? Stella says, trouble, and Portia says she assumes Stella is talking about Curtis’s father Marshall. Stella says, yeah. For all his bluster, Curtis is a sensitive soul, and he’s vulnerable too, especially to Marshall. She’s afraid Curtis wants his father so badly, he’ll ignore all the signs telling him not to get too close. Portia says, Stella is making it sound like Marshall is out to hurt Curtis. Is he?

Marshall suspects Curtis and Drew could use a minute to talk, and he sure as hell could use a minute to catch his breath. Drew says he hopes to see more of Marshall, and Marshall says, maybe Drew will catch a gig. He’s rehearsing with a band; they’re almost ready to go public. He’ll get Drew front row seats. Drew says, that would be awesome, and Marshall says, once he finds a venue, and coughs. Curtis says, subtle, and Marshall says, subtlety is his specialty, and heads for the showers. Drew says, so Curtis is making progress, and Curtis says, one day at a time, with zero expectations. Drew asks if Curtis caught the little scrap of information, and Curtis says, about having experience with men like Sonny? Drew says, yeah, and asks if Curtis is still digging into Marshall’s past. Curtis says, he had to let that go. Partly because he hit a wall, but the other part was, he was wondering if what he knows already is enough. Drew says, turning over more rocks could risk what Curtis has already built; he gets that. Curtis says, and he’s building a lot more. He and Portia are moving in together. Drew congratulates him, and says, Portia’s a lucky woman. Curtis says, not if what Marshall’s hiding comes back to bite him, and Portia by association. Drew says, his offer stands. Say the word, and he’ll put his plan into place.

Carly says, as far as she knows, Sonny has no plans to restrict Ava’s access to Avery when he moves out, and Ava says, she certainly hopes not. Carly says, but it’s Sonny, and he can change at a moment’s notice, so if Sonny tries to come between Ava and Avery, she can lobby on Ava’s behalf. Ava says, lobby to keep a child with her mother, how charitable, and Carly tells her, she’s just saying. Ava says, and in return? She ensures Avery’s presence in Ava’s life in exchange for what? Carly says, her presence in Avery’s. She doesn’t want to take any of Ava’s time away from Avery; she just want to see her. Ava says, Carly could certainly be a useful ally, but why should she bargain for Carly’s diminishing influence over Sonny, when her little friend Nina has much, much more?

Nina says, she’s so sorry, and Sonny says, they’re all sorry. She asks how he feels, and he says, his head feels better. He doesn’t think it’s hit him yet. She says, it certainly hit him last night. He doesn’t remember anything? He shrugs, and she takes out her phone, putting it on the table. She plays the message that he left for her, and he says he shouldn’t have done that. She says, what? Don’t call her? That’s not what bothers her. He says, something is bothering her, and she says, yes; his drinking.

Anna tells Robert, the sad truth is, Peter was her responsibility, and she failed him, and everyone he ever hurt. Go on, just say it. Get it off his chest. He says he would, if he knew what she was talking about, and she says, she’s done everyone a service, and shouldn’t spend another moment thinking about Peter. He’s gone; forget it. Move on with her life, blah-blah-blah, something like that, isn’t it? He says, she’s got one part wrong. The part about Peter being gone.

Chase says he loves Louise’s sleepy eyes after a nap, and Maxie smiles at Louise. Chase says he found a couple of things in the garage that he forgot to pack up for Felicia, so… Ned says, he’ll help load the car, and they leave. Maxie says, there’s nothing in garage, is there? and Brook says, not that she’s aware of. Maxie asks if Louise slept okay, and Brook says, she slept great. It took her a while to get used to the room here, but music always helps. Put on some Springsteen lullabies, and she conks right out. Maxie says she didn’t know that; Brook knows everything. Brook says, she’ll teach Maxie. Lesson number one. She loves to be held. She gives Louise to Maxie, and asks if Louise knows who that is. That’s her mommy.

Mac wonders what’s taking so long, and Felicia says, Maxie will take as much time as she needs. It’s been almost a year coming. Mac says, exactly. Sue him if he’s anxious about seeing his family intact again. He asks if Felicia thinks Brook is making this difficult for Maxie. He could send a couple of units over there to take care of it… Felicia snatches his phone out of his hand, and shoves it in a water-filled vase of flowers, and says, he was saying? He says, that was a bold move, and she says she’s capable of taking bold action when necessary. He says, just ask Peter August.

Chase looks in through the door glass, and tells Ned that he thinks they’re smiling. Is that a laugh or are they crying? Does Ned think they should go in there? Ned says, give them another minute, and Chase asks if he’s not worried about Brook. Ned says, of course (🍷) he is, but she can’t avoid what’s about to happen, nor can they make it better. Chase hopes Ned is wrong about that last part, and Ned says, all they can do is be there for her. He asks, what’s next? and Chase says, today or… Ned says, for Chase; for his future. The charade of him and Brook living together is now over. Maxie’s taking her daughter back home, so there’s no reason for them to live together, right? Chase flashes back to kissing Brook, and Ned says, so what is Chase going to do, now that they’re going their separate ways?

Brook says, she’s put together some notes on their girl’s likes and dislikes; everything Maxie needs to know about Bailey… Louise. She’s sorry. Maxie tells her, stop, and Brook promises she’s going to get it. Maxie says, Brook already has it. Her daughter has had one name her whole life. Maxie’s not going to take it away from her. Brook says, but she’s Louise; Maxie named her for Lulu, to honor her friend. Maxie says Brook is her friend too. She looks at her baby and says, so starting now, baby girl, your name is Bailey Louise. What does Brook think? Brook says she loves it.

Drew lifts free-weights, and tells Curtis, he really thinks it could work. It’s as simple as offering his dad a job, and then the clearance and the paperwork necessitate that he has to reveal something about his past. It’s not rocket science. Curtis says, but it has its advantages, and Drew says, he thinks it’s bad to go around asking questions because it could get back to Marshall. Curtis says, so Marshall has to answer the questions directly and honestly, and Drew says, that’s assuming Marshall doesn’t pick up on the plan. Curtis says, with Drew at the helm, all it takes is a soft touch, and Drew’s got that in spades. Drew says, so he’s in? and Curtis asks if Drew is sure he’s down for this. He has a lot on his plate without Curtis piling more. Drew says, he just went all the way to Europe to clean off that plate, and Curtis says, is it clean though? Peter’s gone, but is it done? Drew says, there may be one or two things left on his to-do list.

Sonny says, now he’s an alcoholic, and Nina tells him, she didn’t say that, and he says, good; don’t. She says, they had a deal, and he says he’s been honest with her the whole time. She says, he drinks too much… and he says, he turns down drinks all the time. She says, let her finish. He drinks too much for someone on mood stabilizing medication. He says, she’s a doctor now? and she says, no, she’s a patient. She’s had her own lapses. He says she can’t compare them, and she says she’s not; she’s remembering. Take as instructed, swallow pills whole, and do not mix with alcohol. He says, he’s been managing his medication, and she asks if he managed it last night, when he couldn’t stand straight and was slurring his words? Or when he stopped taking his medication altogether?

Ava says, for years, Carly has waged war on her. Carly has confronted, attacked her in public. She’s conspired to keep Ava’s child away from her, using the very same tactics she used to keep Nina away from her grandson. Carly says, my grandson, and Ava says, now Carly seeks her assistance to ensure she’s not the one shut out by Sonny and his new lady. Carly says, Nina is always one traffic jam away from a meltdown and a straightjacket. Carly has outlasted every one of Sonny’s affairs. Every. Single. One. So ask herself this, does Ava really want to test the flavor of the month against her?

Stella tells Portia, her concerns are what ifs. She doesn’t know anything for certain. Portia says, no offense, but it sounds like she does. How would Marshall hurt Curtis? Stella says, he wouldn’t; not intentionally. But this secret past he’s dragging around just might. Portia says, and Stella knows nothing about it. Stella says, no more than Portia does. Marshall was gone for 40 years. Now he’s back, with some vague story, hinting there’s trouble in his wake. Does Portia really need to know more than that to be worried? Portia says, no, not really, and Stella tells her, just keep your ears open. That’s all she asks. She thanks Portia for the consult, and Portia says, any time.

Curtis punches the heavy bag, when Marshall comes back. He asks if Curtis and Drew had a nice catch up, and Drew says they did, but unfortunately, he has to cut it short. He’s got stuff to do. Marshall says he’ll be looking for Drew at that gig, but Drew says, he’d love to see Marshall sooner than that. Give him a call; get his number from Curtis. He might have a proposition for Marshall. He and Curtis throw some fake punches, and Drew leaves.

Anna asks what Robert is talking about. Peter is gone. She saw him take his last breath. He’s dead. They sit, and Robert says, dead, definitely; gone, he doesn’t know about that. He sees Peter sitting on her shoulder, dripping doubts in her ear. All the while, he’s got this shadow he’s draped around her neck with regret. Anna asks him to answer something honestly, and he says, of course (🍷). She says, doesn’t he think she bears some responsibility for the way Peter turned out, and all the blood he spilled? Robert says, he doesn’t. Anna tried to save him, and nearly got herself killed. He takes her hand and says, next time around, do them all a big favor and give her heart to some guy who deserves her love. She cries, and he says, not Valentin Cassadine. She laughs, and says, he’s so weird.

Mac asks if Felicia is okay, and she says she’s great. He says, it wouldn’t surprise him if she felt some aftershocks after what went down. She says she did what she did for her family and friends, and doesn’t regret it for one second. If that makes her cold and unfeeling, so be it. He says, it makes her neither of those things, and he’ll prove it to her. They kiss.

Maxie says she guesses it’s time go, and asks if Chase and Brook want to say goodbye. Chase tells her, he’ll say see you later. They’ll have tons of playdates, right? Maxie says, as many as they can manage, and thanks all of them for everything they did, everything gave up. It means everything to her. Bailey is cracking me up, the way she’s looking from one of them to the next, and Brook thanks Maxie for trusting them with little Bailey Louise. Maxie says, one more thing about the names… and Brook says, don’t keep it on her account, but Maxie says she meant Brook’s name. If she’s going be mommy, Brook should be mama; Mama Brook Lynn. Through her tears, Brook says, really? She can live with that. She kisses Bailey’s head, and Maxie says, all right, Baby Lou, let’s get out of here. She leaves, Brook cries, and Ned holds her.

Ava says, when Sonny was gone, she and Carly worked together for Avery’s well-being. She sees no reason to change course now. She loves her daughter, and her daughter loves Carly. She says she’ll see to it that Carly remains a part of Avery’s life, and leaves.

Sonny tells Nina, what happened last night was on him, not his meds, but she says, they’re one in the same; he knows that. His meds keep him level, and make him responsible, but not if he overindulges. Case in point. Would he have called her last night if he hadn’t been drinking? He says he would have called her sober, and she says, really? That would have been a first. He’s looking down the barrel of a divorce because he played fast and free with his meds. He says, she doesn’t know that; he doesn’t know that. What he does know is, right now he’s going through a divorce, and Nina is here. She says, he’s changing the subject, and he asks what the subject was. She says she can’t remember right now, and he takes her hand. He hugs her, then they kiss.

Tomorrow, Sam tells Dante, she’s going to hold him to that; Elizabeth tells Finn, something big is going on; Harmony says she has something to tell Willow; and Carly asks, what happened?

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Ava walks in the park, a bodyguard trailing behind her. She sees Trina, and tells him, she appreciates the protection, but could he be less obtrusive? Like maybe ten feet back? He says, yes, Mrs. Cassadine, but she says, Jerome; Miss Jerome. She calls to Trina, who runs over and hugs her. She thanks Ava for meeting her, and Ava says, her pleasure. She asks what’s going on in Trina’s life. How’s the new guy? Any developments?

Britt goes to the now ever-present pool, and Spencer says he saved a chair for her. She says, that line doesn’t work when she could sit anywhere, and he says she knows she wants to sit next to him. She realizes it’s Spencer, and they hug.

Shawn finishes his meal at the MetroCourt, and tells Jordan, his first dinner as a free man. His complements to the chef, and the lady who made it happen. She says, she and the chef thank him. Watching him eat that meal was truly a sight to behold, and he asks if he stopped to breathe. He’s glad she convinced TJ and Molly to continue with their romantic evening, instead of hanging out with them. She says, it took some doing, and asks if he saw the smile on TJ’s face when he walked in. He says TJ will get sick of him soon enough, since he’ll be staying with them at Alexis’s house. She says they both keep pretty busy schedules. She doubts he’ll see them much. He says, still, he wants to get his own place, find a job, and get on with what he needs to do. She says, that being? and he says she knows what he’s talking about. He wants to find out who really shot Hayden. Nikolas watches from the bar.

Portia meets Terry by the hospital reception area, and Terry says, finally. Portia says she’s sorry. It’s just all this paperwork… Terry says, it never ends, does it? She just has to change, but she’s excited Portia is coming out for a drink tonight. Portia says she is too. She’s looking forward to a relaxing, uncomplicated evening. She asks where Terry wants to go; the Port Charles Grill or the MetroCourt… Terry says, oh no. The only place to be is opening night at The Savoy.

Curtis asks bartender Nika how they’re doing, and she says, the Savoy signature cocktail is a big hit. He says, hiring a mixologist was one of his better moves, and Brando comes in. He walks over to Curtis, and says it’s nice to finally meet him. He’s heard a lot of good things about Curtis. They shake hands, and Curtis thanks him, telling him to enjoy his time at The Savoy. Brando congratulates him, saying, this place is great. Curtis says he’ll leave Brando in the capable hands of his bartender Nika, and Nika asks if Brando would like their signature Savoy, but he says he’ll have a beer. He asks her to start a tab; it’s going to be a long night. At the bar, Spinelli says he seconds that, and asks the barkeep for another drink. He asks if Brando is also there to drown his sorrows, and Brando says, something like that. Spinelli says, allow him to speculate. An affair of the heart.

At the hospital, Sasha looks over some pregnancy pamphlets, and literally runs into Michael while she’s reading, dropping the pamphlets everywhere. He apologizes, and picks them up for her, asking if she’s there for a doctor’s appointment. She says, close. Pregnancy nutrition class. It starts a little person off right. Is he there for a board meeting? He says, close. He’s visiting his grandmother. It looks like she has things figured out since their last conversation, She says she’s trying. She’s going to give her baby everything he or she needs. He says she doesn’t have to do it on her own; he’s sure Brando would want to be there. She says she’s sure he would. She’s just not so sure she wants him to be.

The physical therapist is working on Chase, when Willow walks in. Chase asks if she’s done with class, and she says she is. What about him? Is he almost ready to go? He says almost, and the therapist says Chase did good work today. He looks at the parallel bars, and says, soon Chase will be over there. Chase says, why wait? and suggests they start now.

Jordan says she knows how important clearing Shawn’s name is to him, but she’s concerned how he’s going to do it. He says, carefully. He knows he has things to atone for, but attempting to kill Hayden isn’t one of them. In taking responsibility for what he didn’t do, he covered up for a would-be murderer who really wanted Hayden dead, and damn near succeeded. That person should be brought to justice. Jordan says she knows, but because he confessed and pled guilty, the DA suspended the investigation. Five years is a long time for a case to go cold. There’s a chance the perp… Nikolas apologizes for interrupting, but he needs to know if the PCPD is making any progress with Ava’s stalker. Stella watches from a distance.

Portia tells Terry that she’s been looking forward to the MetroCourt zucchini sticks all day, and Terry says she likes them too. She suggests they go there for dinner afterward; The Savoy is drinks only. Portia says they can get drinks and dinner at the MetroCourt, one-stop-shopping, but Terry says she wants to be where the action is. Portia says, that’s just it. The Savoy is going to be all crowded and noisy. Terry asks, who doesn’t love crowded and noisy? and Portia suggests they go another night, after all the hype has calmed down. Terry says, okay, spill. What’s the real reason Portia doesn’t want to go?

Britt asks when Spencer got back. Is this why he ghosted her months ago? He was planning a surprise? He says he didn’t ghost her. He was busy with graduation, and then took some time to tour Europe. She says, listen to him, sounding all continental. Let’s sit. She wants to hear about all the crazy things he did to celebrate graduation.

Ava says, don’t tell her this Victor turned out to be some kind of creep, and Trina says, undecided. Ava asks what he did, and Trina says, he’s charming and fun, but he’s also totally unreliable. Plus there’s some weirdness between him and his family, and she’s not sure what to do about it.

The therapist helps Chase up, and Chase stands between the bars. The therapist says he’s going to let go and see if Chase can stand on his own. He steps back a little, but Chase’s legs buckle, and he falls back into his chair.

Britt asks if Spencer is staying with his father at Windymere, or does Nikolas think he’s still wandering around Europe? Spencer says he already surprised his father at Windymere, and she says, so things are better between them? He says, define better, and she says he had every reason to be angry at Nikolas. He says, but he should be over it by now? She says, Nikolas let Spencer believe he was dead for three years. Spencer thought he was an orphan. Those aren’t things anyone should just get over, and if he said he did, she’d be worried about him. He says, then she doesn’t have to worry, and she says, getting over anger is a process. It is possible to come out the other side if you keep moving forward. He asks if she speaks from experience, and she says, yes. She’s not always successful at getting past her anger, but she understands that it’s necessary, and it’s a goal she’s working toward. He says, she thinks he should do the same? and she says, she thinks if he doesn’t rebuild the relationship with his father, it will hurt Nikolas, but it will also hurt him. He says, he’s here, isn’t he? Supporting father in his time of need. She asks if he’s referring to Nikolas’s divorce from Ava. Nikolas has definitely been on edge, making wild accusations. Did he tell Spencer about the stalker?

Nikolas says, it’s been going on for months now. The threats have been escalating. Ava’s gallery was trashed, and the stalker was able to leave a toy in Avery’s room. It’s unacceptable that… Stella walks over and says, Shawn Butler. Jordan says, whatever Stella has to say… but Shawn stops her. He gets up, and says, Miss Stella. She’s Thomas’s aunt. He can’t tell her how sorry… She holds up her hand and says, she’s not interested in his contrition. But she does have a few things to say to the man who killed her nephew.

Brando tells Nika to put Spinelli’s drink on his tab. It’s the least he can do after Spinelli helped rescue his mom from Cyrus. They sit at a table, and Spinelli says it was his honor. He’s glad someone appreciated his efforts. Brando says, Spinelli was taken hostage, and Cyrus was going to trade him for Brando’s mother. He’s glad they all got out okay. Spinelli says, mutual safety is cause for relief, but unfortunately, his heart became collateral damage. His partner Ellie became increasingly alarmed at his association with danger and violence. She wanted him to get out, and when he balked, she walked. Brando says, she left him? and he says, she realized that if she wanted to make a change for a better life, and maybe a future with someone else, that she had to start now, and she did. She’s gone. Brando says he’s sorry. Were they together long? Spinelli says, years. They were raising his daughter together, mostly in Oregon. They were a happy family unit. When they relocated to Queens Point, he became more involved with his friends and their business. At one point, Ellie asked if he could be a friend and not participate in the business, but it’s just not possible. His area of expertise is invaluable to his friends, and he savors the challenge. He likes doing what he does, and knowing he’s good at it. This last time cost him a relationship that he greatly treasured. Brando ponders this heavily.

Michael asks if something happened between Sasha and Brando, and she says, Brando is a great guy. She likes him on almost every level. He says, almost, and she says she thinks they want different things for their lives. He says he’s not sure he understands totally, but sometimes guys need to take a beat and process what parenthood might mean to their lives. Is he getting it? She says, that’s not exactly it. Brando definitely wants to be involved. She’s the one who’s not sure how that’s going to look. He says, noted. He’s just going to take his two cents and be on his way. She says he doesn’t have to leave. All she’s saying is, she’s ready to do it alone if she has to be a single mom. He says, at the risk of wading back into deep water – he takes her hand, and they sit – being a parent isn’t always a picnic, let alone being a single parent. He has all the confidence she’ll manage, but wants her to go into it with her eyes wide open. He’s available for any new parent freak-outs she might have. He’s pretty sure he invented some of them, so he’s at her service. He also wants her to know that he still considers her a good friend. She thanks him, and says, the same goes for her. She’s just as invested in his happiness as he is in hers. That includes talking about someone he can’t talk to anyone else about – Willow. If he ever needs a sympathetic shoulder with no judgement, , she’s there for him.

Chase takes a bottle of water from Willow, and says he wants something more effective than hydration and stretches. She says, the fact that he’s there at all and working on recovery is a blessing, right? It’s just going to take some time. He says this isn’t what she signed up for, but she says she seems to remember a clause about in sickness or in health. He says he doesn’t think that applies when he can’t even be her husband, and she says he knows that’s not true. He says she knows what he means; they can’t even share the same bed. He doesn’t want to wake her up when his legs are cramping. He knows she needs her rest because she has school, she’s got Wiley… She says she doesn’t care about sleeping in separate beds, and he says, but he does. This – he bangs the chair – is not who he is. He’s sick of their relationship revolving around his health and wants to be her husband, not her patient. He wants her love not her pity. She says she does love him, and he says, then let him do what he needs to do.

Willow says she understands Chase’s frustration, but he asks how she can. All he wants is to live a normal life with the person he loves, and that seems impossible right now. He’s sorry. He shouldn’t be railing at her. That’s exactly what he didn’t want to happen. He doesn’t want to take his frustrations out on his wife. The therapist comes back, and asks if Chase is ready for some stretching. Chase says, yeah, and tells Willow that he’ll call her when he’s done.

Portia tells Terry, so they decided to get a divorce. She has no idea if it’s gone through or anything, but it’s too soon to be getting involved with anyone. Terry tells her, says who? and Portia says, everyone. Conventional wisdom, common sense… Terry asks, since when does Portia want to live her life by conventional rules? and Portia says, nobody wants to be on the other end of a rebound relationship. Terry says, better nip it in the bud, especially when there’s chemistry. Portia says, when things were good between them, they were really good, and yes, that chemistry is still between them, and Terry says, sounds dreadful. Portia says she’s still attracted to the man; if anything, even more so. Curtis, back in the day, it was clear he was just piecing his life back together, but Curtis now is grounded and stable. Terry says, and still sexy, and Portia says she definitely thinks so. And he’s still interested. He told her where she can find him tonight. Terry asks, what happens if she doesn’t go? and Portia says she doesn’t know. Her fear is that she’ll lose him as a friend. Terry says Portia makes it sound like she’s going to lose him no matter what. Stop her if she’s being intrusive, but she thinks Portia wants a chance with the man. What’s holding her back?

Shawn asks if Stella would like to talk privately, and she supposes that would be best. He tells Jordan that he’ll be back, and they step away. Nikolas says, that was tense, and Jordan says, and none of their business. He sits, and says, the investigation into his stalker is definitely his business. Did the footprint found at the scene lead to anything? She says, they’re making progress, and he asks if she can be more specific; he needs details. She says, why, so he can set another trap? Take matters into his own hands? She says, that’s all he’s getting, and he says he has a right to know. She says he doesn’t have the right to interfere with an ongoing police investigation. Stay out of it. Leave it to the police. End of discussion.

Spencer tells Britt that he’s heard all about Ava’s trials and tribulations. He just wishes he could have been there to see Ava’s face when she found that roach. Britt says he should have seen her face when Nikolas accused her of being the stalker, and he says she has to admit, some of the stunts are clever enough to be hers. She says, they’re not stunts. They’re malicious acts designed to cause fear, and they worked. Ava is terrified. He says, well, it’s over. Now that Ava and his father are divorcing, the gifts have stopped. She says, they’re not really gifts, and he says she knows what he means. She’s always understood him. She says, likewise, and they fist bump. She says it’s good to see him. Can he hang for a bit? He says he’s been there all day, and she says she wants a drink. Does he want one? She gets up, and he says, a gin and tonic, and she says, one ice tea coming up. He says, in Europe, the drinking age is 18, but she says, this ain’t Europe. His phone rings, and Nikolas says he’s at the MetroCourt, and can give Spencer a ride home if he wants. Is he still at the pool? Spencer says he still has to change, and suggests Nikolas have a drink at the pool while he waits.

Sasha goes into the PT room, and says she heard Chase was there; how’s it going? He says, it’s going, and she says, physical therapy takes time. He says, that’s what they tell him, and she says her experience is with a different type of rehab, but if he ever wants to talk… He says, thanks, but he’s all talked out. If anything, he wishes Willow would talk more. She says, about what? and he says, something is going on with her. He wishes she would say more than the obligatory, keep it up, and, don’t lose hope. Sasha is sure Willow means every word, but Chase is sure there’s something she’s not telling him. Has she said anything to Sasha?

Willow stands outside with some coffee, when Michael comes along. He asks, what’s wrong? but she says, it’s nothing. He says, it’s definitely not nothing, and she says, Chase is in physical therapy. He’s working hard, but he’s frustrated with his progress, and he’s lashing out. He says, at her?

Stella tells Shawn, Thomas was her nephew. She lived with her sister the whole time Thomas and Curtis were growing up. They were very close. He says Thomas always spoke highly of Stella, and she says she doesn’t need him to tell her about Thomas. She knew him down to the soles of his feet. He says, with all due respect, what does she need from him? If she needs to unload, go ahead. He’ll stand right there and take her verbal lashing. He owes her that at least. He knows what he took from her. She says, please. He can’t possibly understand what he took from her; what her family lost. Thomas was a good man and a good father, but he didn’t live to see his son grow up to be a doctor. Is he going to tell her that he’s TJ’s father now? Because a father is more than DNA. He says she’ll get no argument from him. He and TJ know that Thomas was TJ’s father, but so is he.

Britt says, besides the legal drinking age, does Spencer miss France? Did he leave someone special behind? He says France will always be there. What about her? Has she found someone who even slightly deserves her? She says, not many people would consider her a catch, but he says, au contraire. If she hasn’t found someone worthy of her, she’s not looking in the right places. Nikolas comes in, and Spencer tells him, look who’s here.

Portia tells Terry that she was married when she first met Curtis, and she didn’t tell him. She and Taggert were on the outs, but she had no business starting anything with anyone. When she finally did tell Curtis, he just walked away. She’s sure he really felt hurt and betrayed, and Terry asks what she’s saying. Does she think Curtis is out for revenge? Portia says, of course (🍷) not, but she guesses she’s a little scared. What if she opens herself up to him and he has a change of heart, and walks away again? She hasn’t really let herself be vulnerable since. She’s dated, but she’s had other priorities. She has to make sure Trina is okay, and her career. Terry says, that was then; this is now. Trina is on her way to college, and Portia’s career is well-established. Sounds like it’s been a long time since she’s let herself be happy with a man, and Curtis sounds promising. But what does she know? She’s just an oncologist, not a psychologist. She’ll meet Portia at The Savoy in a few, or at the MetroCourt for dinner later. Portia’s choice.

Curtis asks if Brando is having a good evening, and if Nika is taking care of him. Brando says she is. Everything’s great. The house beer is first rate. Curtis says he’s glad to hear it, but seems distracted, looking at the entrance. Brando wonders if he can ask Curtis something, and Curtis says, sure. Brando says, has he ever had a woman give him an old tomato ultimatum? Say, you can’t do this, or you’re out of my life? Curtis says, it sounds like Brando’s lady, and it sounds like she might have a good reason. He sits, and Brando says, Sasha doesn’t like certain aspects of his life; she thinks they’re dangerous. Curtis says, sounds like she’s concerned something might happen to Brando. Does she do this all the time; ultimatums, giving orders? Brando says, no. She’s great. They respect each other. Curtis asks if he’s sure it was an ultimatum, or was she just being honest with him about what she can and cannot live with? Brando says he hadn’t thought of it that way, and Curtis says, to answer his first question, he doesn’t recall a woman doing that to him, but he’s sure he’s done it. Sometimes you have to say what you want, even if it means losing what you have.

Sasha tells Chase, Willow is a pretty honest person. What does he think she’s holding back? He says, when he and Willow got married, they thought he only had a few hours to live. Now she’s stuck with an invalid husband. She says, he’s recovering. And she says this with love, but he’s an idiot if he thinks Willow is anything but grateful that he survived. He says he knows Willow is grateful; so is he. He knows he’s lucky to be alive. He knows Willow, and there’s something behind her eyes. Something she’s holding back.

Michael says, Chase is going through hell right now, but it doesn’t give him the right to take it out on Willow. Willow says, Chase is mostly taking his anger and frustration out on himself. She just feels so… inadequate. All she seems to be able to offer are platitudes. Be patient. You’ll get there. Michael says, Chase is strong. He’s going to come back from this, and she’ll be a big reason why. She prays he’s right, and says she’s being selfish. Chase is the one struggling to get back his life, while she’s feeling sorry for herself. Michael tells her to stop beating herself up. She’s doing an incredible job supporting Chase. She says he’s biased, but he says, not at all. But he does know what all this is costing her.

Stella says, Shawn compares himself to the man who was there for TJ until he died? Shawn says, no, she is. He knows Thomas loved TJ. He loves TJ too. He couldn’t be TJ’s father because up until recently, he didn’t know he was TJ’s father. She says, and up until recently, he was behind bars, where he should have been a lot sooner for killing her nephew. He says, Thomas was his best friend, but he snapped. Thomas threatened to kill him. It was self-defense, but he’ll carry the pain and weight of it the rest of his life. She says, Thomas was his best friend, but that didn’t stop Shawn from sleeping with his wife. He snapped because of Shawn’s betrayal. Jordan comes in, and says, it wasn’t all on Shawn. They both know that. Stella says she and Jordan have made their peace, but don’t expect her to offer it to the man who ended her nephew’s life. He’s lucky to be out of prison. If it were up to her, he’d rot there. Jordan says, she’s not being fair, but Shawn says he’s going to listen. Stella says she has nothing more to say to him. Just please stay out of her way. He says he’ll do his best, and thanks Jordan for dinner. He leaves, and Jordan asks if Stella is all right. She looks shaky. Stella says, it’s been a long time coming, but she confronted him. She did it, and she stands by everything she said. Jordan asks if it made her feel any better.

As they walk through the park, Ava asks what Victor did that has Trina on the fence. Trina says, basically, he lied to her, and Ava says she doesn’t like the sound of that. Trina says, it was a normal lie of omission, which is still a lie, but it didn’t directly affect her, so she guesses she shouldn’t care. Maybe she’s overthinking it. Ava says, or maybe she’s making excuses for him? Giving him a little wiggle room? Sounds to her like Trina likes him. Trina says she does; he’s interesting. Not like a lot of the guys around here. Ava asks if she’s going to go out with him, but Trina says, they’re not dating. They’re just hanging out as friends. Ava says, oh… friends.

Nikolas says he thought Spencer was going to change, and Spencer says he was. Then he and Britt got to talking. He’ll go right now. He tells Nikolas to help himself to his ice tea, shoves it in Nikolas’s hand, and jets. Britt gets up, and says, hey… Nikolas says he’s sorry for accusing her of being the stalker. He was at the end of his rope. She says she was sorry to hear he and Ava are getting a divorce, and he says, it’s not over yet. He’s surprised that Spencer is trying to matchmake. He’s been cold since he got home. She says, but he is home in Nikolas’s hour of need. That’s something. He says, it is. He’s so glad to have Spencer back. He’s the one good thing in Nikolas’s life.

Brando thanks Curtis for the advice, and Curtis says, sometimes he just likes to hear himself talk. Brando says Curtis told him just what he needed to hear. Did he tell Curtis that he was going to be a father? Curtis laughs, and says now he understands the ultimatum. Brando says, he’s an idiot. There’s no choice to be made. How can he walk away from someone as wonderful as Sasha? Curtis says, well, congratulations. He’s happy for Brando. Brando thanks him and reaches for his wallet, but Curtis says it’s on him. Consider it an early baby shower present. And good luck to you, brother. Brando thanks him, and leaves. Curtis continues looking around.

Sasha thinks Chase is holding Willow to a higher standard than his own, and he says, what? She asks if he shares all his doubts and moments of weakness with Willow. Everyone thinks Willow is perfect, but she’s not; she’s human. And she’s scared and worried and just trying to figure things out as she goes. He says he gets it, but she doesn’t have to hold it all in. She says, like he does? Loving someone doesn’t mean you have to share every single thought with the person, especially when you’re trying to protect the other person. And they’re both doing that. He says, and he’s not protecting Willow by snapping like that, which is exactly what he did today. She says she thinks Willow understands how frustrating it is for him, and she knows Willow is committed to helping him through his recovery. He doesn’t need to doubt her.

Michael says Willow put her entire life on hold to literally help Chase get back on his feet. He sees her burning the candle at both ends while still keeping a smile on her face. He wishes there was something he could do to help. She says she knows she’s putting more than her life on hold. She’s putting them on hold; their family, their future. That’s not fair either. How long can she ask Michael to wait for her?

Ava says, it seems like Trina is willing to overlook Victor’s lie of omission, and Trina says she wants to. They sit on a bench, and Ava says, well, then do it. Take a chance. Trina says, Ava still believes that? Even after how things ended with her and Nikolas? and Ava says, yes. She believes in living life, not just watching from the sidelines. Get out there and enjoy herself. Trina says, yes, ma’am, and Ava says, be careful. And if this Victor crosses the line, he’s going to have to answer to her. Trina says, get in line behind her dad, and Ava laughs, saying, and her mom. She has quite a line of protectors. Most of all, trust her instincts. Victor sounds like he might be a bad boy. They are exciting, but they can be trouble too.

Spencer comes back, dressed in street clothes, and asks Britt, where’s father? She says, he had to make a call. Not cool, Spencer. Spencer says, what? and she says she and Nikolas are over. He loves Ava, and she doesn’t have time for distractions. He says, things change. It’s only a matter of time before father puts Ava and this farce of a marriage behind him.

On the phone, Shawn says, I heard you were still in the game. How about if we work together?

Jordan gives Stella a glass of water, and Stella admits lashing out at that man didn’t ease the pain of losing Thomas, but she needed to do it. Jordan knows she speaks her mind. Jordan says, all too well, and Stella says, go on, say it. Jordan asks, what she was thinking, telling Portia to back off Curtis? and Stella says, she was thinking Jordan and Curtis needed more time to work out their differences, and remember how much they love each other. She gave Jordan the opportunity to fight for her marriage. Why didn’t she take it?

Portia walks up to Curtis at The Savoy, and he looks at her approvingly.

Michael tells Willow, he’ll wait forever if he has to. She’s his future. So take that worry off her plate. He isn’t going anywhere. As much as he wants to hold her, and make love to her, he’ll go on being her friend and co-parent for as long as it takes. She says she loves him so much, her heart hurts. And she wants him too. She’s so sorry. She wishes things were different. They hook pinkies on the DL, and he says he understands her commitment to stay with Chase. So they’ll wait, as long as Chase needs her.

Alone in the PT room, Chase lines up his chair in front of the parallel bars. He takes hold of them, and hoists himself up, but when he lets go, he falls back into his chair. He says he can do this… for Willow. He grabs the bars again, pulls himself up, lets go, and stands without falling.

Tomorrow, Brando tells Sasha that he’s made his choice, Finn tells Elizabeth that monsters never really die, Anna says the information has to be kept confidential, Stella asks if Jordan wants her marriage to be over, and Curtis tells Portia that her timing couldn’t be better.

The Real Housewives of New York City

Sonja and Bershan were deep in a nonsensical argument, when in LuAnn’s interview, she said it was up to Ramona to reel this woman in. Ramona had brought her to the group, and it was her responsibility. But instead of telling Bershan that she was being overbearing, Ramona told her they were worried about Sonja, and Bershan was pushing her off the deep end. Whatever that meant. In Ramona’s interview, she said she didn’t disagree with Bershan. As an outsider looking in, she wondered why they were putting up with Sonja, but it wasn’t her job to figure it out. Eboni told LuAnn that she was done with Bershan, having given her all the Black extra-credit points she could. In Eboni’s interview, she said she was still navigating this circle of friends, and Bershan needed to get to know them like on the first day of second grade. Bershan told Ramona that she was a fresh pair of eyes who was telling it like it is, totally missing the point.

In the morning, Leah told LuAnn that Sonja and Bershan got in a physical altercation. LuAnn was like, huh? since when she left, everyone had gone to bed. Leah said Bershan had come to get a melatonin from her, and she and Sonja were both drunk. We saw a clip of Bershan griping to Leah about Sonja, and Sonja honing in on the conversation, saying Bershan didn’t need to be talking about her. Sonja did have a point when she told Bershan not to come into her life, and in ten seconds tell her who she is. Then it was on, with fingers in faces, and shouting while standing two inches from each other. Leah had to get between them, and she told LuAnn she was worried they’d hit her new nose. The producers ended up stepping in, and Sonja broke the glass in the fire extinguisher box as they let her away. Back to the present morning, Bershan did jumping jacks, while she recited affirmations.

LuAnn went to Leah’s room to discuss the situation, and they agreed that when Sonja was drunk, it wasn’t the time to talk to her about anything. Leah wondered if Sonja was going to act like nothing happened, and LuAnn said Sonja wasn’t going to remember what happened. In LuAnn’s interview, she said she didn’t care how drunk you were, there was no excuse for that behavior. Agreed. She said she was worried about Sonja. Ramona joined them, and Leah explained it all again, saying Bershan was being antagonistic. LuAnn said it was up to Ramona to fulfill Bershan’s expectations; Bershan was her problem. In Ramona’s interview, she said she didn’t know this Bershan. Leah thought they were being irresponsible if they didn’t talk to Sonja about her drinking, and they decided Leah, Ramona, and LuAnn would talk to her about her denial. In Leah’s interview, she said it wasn’t like Sonja was having fun. She’d want someone to talk to her if she was breaking glass. I guess she forgot about that night of the tiki torches. LuAnn said she was down for it.

Ramona wanted to talk to Bershan, and in Bershan’s interview, she said that she felt like she was being called to the principal’s office. Ramona asked, what happened? and Bershan said Sonja was being a little drunk and aggressive, but Ramona said Bershan had been pushing her. Bershan said Sonja had gotten in her face, and in Black culture, if you got in somebody’s face like that, you got hit. Really? Since when? In Ramona’s interview, she said, acting like that could get Sonja hurt. Bershan said she realized that coming into a new group of girls, not everyone was going to express themselves the way she did.

Leah filled Eboni in on what was going on, and Ramona went to get Sonja, who’d just woken up. In Sonja’s interview, she said she didn’t have a taste for cheap red wine, but if that’s what they were serving, she’d drink it. And if Bershan was serving up insults, she was going to drink. She told Ramona that they ended up with cheap wine and Bershan. She wasn’t attempting to understand where Bershan was coming from. They were headed to a lunch, and in LuAnn’s interview, she said the van ride was going to be like purgatory, but she didn’t know who was going to heaven or hell. It was a quiet ride.

After they sat down at the restaurant, Bershan said she wanted to say something to the group, and was a bit emotional. She wanted to apologize for acting familiar with people she wasn’t familiar with. She’d overstepped her boundaries. Translation: she’d tried to get screen time when she’s not part of the cast. She said she and Sonja had a connection, and Sonja agreed. Ramona tried to interject, and Sonja told her, STFU. In Ramona’s interview, she said Sonja was being passive/aggressive with her and snapping like a turtle. And it’s not turtle time. Sonja said she’d been hurt by the way Bershan mimicked her, Bershan took responsibility, and they hugged it out. Sonja was happy that Bershan apologized, and hoped they could move forward in a positive way. I predict that lasting about five minutes. Leah said they had to get ready for their séance, and Ramona said the dead were waiting for them.

They went back to the hotel to change, everyone wearing black because they like being cliché. I had no idea what Leah was wearing. Usually I like her get-ups, but… no. It was a black patent leather jacket over a white dress, but the jacket didn’t know where to quit in the front, panels of leather trailing down, and not in a good way. Sonja and Bershan ordered espresso martinis, and in her interview, LuAnn said, just what they needed. LuAnn suggested they speak to Sonja immediately, which seemed stupid, since she’d have a martini in her hand while they’re discussing her drinking. In Ramona’s interview, she said they had to do this before Sonja got too buzzed to take in what they were saying. And they too, had drinks in their hands. All kinds of wrong there. Ramona told Eboni to keep Bershan busy while they talked.  Ramona, Leah, and LuAnn had a quick confab and… Ramona went to get a drink first.

They called Sonja over, and Leah said they weren’t coming from a place of judgement. She thought it would be irresponsible and f***ed up of them not to say they thought Sonja’s drinking was going to hurt her at this point. They were worried. LuAnn said she’d been arrested for less than Sonja had done, and Sonja went through a litany of times when she didn’t drink – at home, alone, on dates, anywhere but with them. In her interview, Ramona said, sure; she believed that. She said Sonja got angry when she drank, and Leah said it didn’t seem like Sonja was having a good time. Sonja said Bershan had gotten in her face with her bad girl image, and she wasn’t having it. Leah said it was an open channel of communication, and Sonja said she had professionals in her life and did telemedicine. In Leah’s interview, she said, they tried, and in LuAnn’s interview, she said, you usually had to have a wake-up call, and she just didn’t want Sonja to wake up in a gutter. Sonja told them she didn’t feel like she was in a safe place, since they were being judgmental, which even I had to agree they weren’t. LuAnn said Sonja had gotten in a physical altercation, and when Sonja said she’d do it again, the conversation was over, since they obviously weren’t getting anywhere. In Sonja’s interview, she said Ramona and LuAnn were like broken records, and managed to hook Leah into it. They were on vacation. Chill out. She wasn’t going to explain herself anymore.

They moved on to the séance with mediums Michael and Marion, and host Sandra, who was burning incense to get rid of any negativity in the room. Ha! They’d need a truckful of sage for that one. Marion called for those to have passed away to come through. The light fixture suddenly detached from the ceiling, totally freaking the women out, except for Sonja who said, that does happen. Okay… Michael said they were safe; there wouldn’t be lights flickering or eyes rolling back. Sonja said, there might be poop. He told Bershan that she was viewed as a regular goat, but would become a mountain goat and come out of her shell. In Sonja’s interview, she said she thought Bershan should be a turtle, and pull it back in. (Hmm… Two turtle references tonight.) He told LuAnn that she’d be parting ways with a moody man in her life, but it would be positive for her, and more of a loss for him. Marion told Leah that she was trying to communicate with a female relative, but they didn’t necessarily approve of the séance, so she was having trouble channeling her. In Leah’s interview, she said her grandmother probably wouldn’t have approved of what she was doing, and Leah was also skeptical, so it was no surprise. Marion said she could see Leah studying for her conversion to Judaism, and thought it would give Leah structure. Marion was feeling Eboni’s grandmother, and said she’d just been gone for a little bit of time. Eboni said, a few days, and Marion said she liked this lady; she had a bit of attitude. She was proud of Eboni, and felt she’d been a second mother to her. She said, Eboni had a strong message for women, and had to keep going forward. Eboni started to cry, and in her interview, said it was a relief. Her grandmother had been smart and powerful, but had trouble in the past few years. Having her close was a comfort. Marion said she could feel unfinished business with Sonja’s father, and he wanted to apologize to Sonja; he didn’t know what he was doing. Marion asked if he’d had a drinking problem. Sonja said he did, and in LuAnn’s interview, she said she had no idea because Sonja never talked about her past. She felt she could relate to Sonja better now, since her own father had a drinking problem. Marion said he was mortified by what he did, but wasn’t trying to excuse it. He was trying to apologize. In Ramona’s interview, she said it was emotional and deep. She and Sonja’s childhoods had both been traumatizing, so they never talked about it. Marion said, because Sonja’s father had left when she was young, Sonja had abandonment issues that affected her relationships with men. Sonja cried, and in her interview, she said she was surprised her dad showed up because he’d always been too busy to be a dad. It was hard when you were a kid with one parent, and not knowing you had a dad to reach out to. Marion said she didn’t know if Sonja was dealing with it, and Sonja said she was consulting with a healer. Marion wisely said that was a great addition, but Sonja needed some real therapy. She put it more delicately, but that was the gist of it. Sonja said she’d just started with a therapist, and Marion said she hoped they had a PhD. In her interview, Sonja said her story wasn’t uncommon, but it put a dent in your heart not having a male figure to lean on.

Ramona had a man coming through, someone younger who Marion thought was Ramona’s brother. He’d had a lot of issues in his life. Ramona said, he was a lost soul, and Marion said, it wasn’t a suicide, but… Ramona said, he was self-destructive. She told them, he’d died two years ago, and Marion said he was okay with being gone, but was sorry for hurting her. Ramona said, he almost died ten thousand times before he did, and Marion said she was sorry to say it, but she thought he’d wanted to die. Ramona said he’d been in a lot of emotional pain, and Marion said he loved Ramona, and appreciated that she’d tried to help him. Ramona said there had been nothing she could do, so she’d eventually abandoned him. Marion told her not to blame herself; it was too big a burden. In her interview, Ramona said she’d felt responsible for him, but in the end, he was too far gone to help. She felt now she had resolution, and Marion told her there was nothing she could have done. She asked if anyone had questions, but I think everyone was too freaked out to ask anything further.

In Leah’s interview, she said these were relatively new friends of hers, and there was a lot she didn’t know. When she found out these things, it gave her more understanding of them as people. Sonja suggested they have some fun, and Leah added some wood to the fireplace. Everyone realized she had her dress on backward. Putting it on correctly didn’t make it look any better.

This season, lots of parties, boxing with Martin, Garth isn’t happy about being on Page Six, Eboni continues looking for her father, Ramona tries to sing and fails miserably, the women dress up like each other, and lots of STFU.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

The women packed for Kyle’s house in La Quinta. Dorit was ready to get into something festive and fun. Sutton was staring at an empty suitcase, when Kyle called. Kyle said she thought it should be casual, but the others might be bringing ballgowns. You never knew. She told Sutton about Erika’s meltdown, and said it wasn’t like her. We flashed back to that.

Erika found someone to take over the lease for her clubhouse. She needed the furniture, and it was time to let it go. We flashed back to good times there, and Erika told assistant Laia that part of her was sad, but part of her was okay with it. In her interview, she said she hadn’t received a dime despite what everyone thought. Being on a budget was challenging, and at times horrible, but she could take care of herself. People wanted to forget that. She said, a lot of good things, good work, and great memories came from the clubhouse. They looked at the pink neon Pretty Mess sign, and Laia said, she lives on. Erika said, always. In her interview, she said, everything comes to an end.

Kyle video chatted with Garcelle, who said Kyle looked good, and Kyle said she was happy to be alive. Garcelle said she still had to shoot The Real, but she’d be coming a day late. Kyle walked around with the phone, showing Garcelle the house, which Garcelle pronounced amazing. In Kyle’s interview, she said she’d been coming to the desert since she was a baby; on weekends, holidays, and Easter, which I believe is a holiday. She told Garcelle that it was peaceful there, and in her interview, Kyle said, as soon as they hit the windmills, the energy was different. The energy shifted there. LisaR was the first to arrive with her loud self, and screeched over her bedroom. Erika, Crystal, and Garcelle were staying in a hotel, but Kathy, who usually stayed in a hotel, was staying with Kyle along with the others. Kathy arrived with the obligatory hostess gift candle, in size extra-large, and wondered if someone could help her with her luggage. In Kyle’s interview, she said it wasn’t the Waldorf, and she didn’t have a bellhop. Crystal showed up next, followed by Sutton in her new Bentley, and Dorit with groceries. In Crystal’s interview, she said the last time she’d seen Sutton, it was probably Sutton’s biggest meltdown, but Sutton had texted since, and she thought it was getting better. She was still happy she was in a hotel with a lock on the door. So I see she’s really let go of that. Kyle said her ADD was off the charts.

LisaR told the women that she’d left Erika a message, and gotten no response. Kyle said there had been a court date today, and Dorit said she’d read the government froze all of Tom’s assets while they were investigating the possible inappropriate use of at least $2 million. In Dorit’s interview, she said, imagine not being able take your own money out of your own account. That had happened to her when PK had a lawsuit against him. We saw a clip about that, and she said it had been scary, but this was bigger and more scary than what she’d gone through. Dorit said, Tom’s lawyers were asking for him to have a medical evaluation because they didn’t think he fully understood the gravity of the situation. She read an article to the women about Tom and his lawyers being cited for civil contempt of court, because they’d failed to listen to an order to examine where the funds for the airline settlement went. In LisaR’s interview, she said, the disturbing part was that the money was supposed to go to the orphans and victims of the plane crash. In Crystal’s interview, she said, $2 million seemed like a lot, but compared to what Tom had, it was an insignificant number. She couldn’t understand why he didn’t write a check, and make it go away. None of it made sense. LisaR said she was worried; this was a big deal. She called Erika, and Erika said she had to change, but would be there soon. Kathy announced there was going to be an eclipse that hadn’t happened in 600 years. Kyle washed some eggplants for lasagna, and there were a lot of penis references.

In her interview, Kyle said, joking with Kathy made her think of the times they missed together, and we flashed back to a Reunion, where Kyle said they weren’t speaking. She told us that it seemed a shame to think of the holidays they spent apart. The dynamic had changed, and they were back to speaking all the time, and laughing. She was having fun. Erika arrived, and LisaR said she was proud Erika was there. Like she was Erika’s mom. Kyle said they were there for her, and Erika told them, it’s not okay, and it’s not going to be okay for a long time. There were lots of tears and hugs. In Erika’s interview, she said, every day she woke up to something new, and it was all bad news all the time. She asked how Dorit was feeling [after having covid], and Dorit said she wasn’t symptomatic, so don’t worry about the hug. Erika said that was the least of her concerns. In LisaR’s interview, she said, you’d have thought Erika was set for life, but you just never know. Erika said she hadn’t gone to the court; it was in Chicago. She wasn’t talking to Tom, but she knew he was struggling. He wasn’t in a good place, but in some ways, she was relieved. She felt that Tom wasn’t mentally well, and maybe he’d get the help he needed now. We flashed back to her saying he was ignoring problems with his health, and not listening to her. In her interview, she said she was right about what she’d been seeing, experiencing, and hearing. It had been over time, and it was hard watching someone slowly unravel. She apologized for being drained, but she’d been dragged into all of this. Dorit said, when PK went through legal woes, the issue happened before he knew her name, but she was smeared. She hadn’t known him or even heard of him at the time. In Dorit’s interview, she said it was normal not to know all of a spouse’s business dealings. Erika said, Tom had been in business since before she was born, and Kathy said it was based on trust. Her husband could say, sign these 50 papers, and she’d sign them without reading them, because she trusted him. Although I’m not so sure she could comprehend a legal document. In her interview, Erika said ,when they entered into the marriage the balance of power had been out of whack. She’d been a bimbo and a gold-digger, and now she was a financial mastermind.

Helping Kyle in the kitchen, Crystal said she felt bad about Erika. Kyle said Tom was like a dad, and would say things like, excuse me, I’m talking. We flashed back to that dinner again where he basically told Erika to shut up, and in Kyle’s interview, she said, Tom was very much the one in charge and controlling the situation. He supported Erika’s career and dreams, and that was the price she had to pay. It was easy for Erika to detach; they’d seen it. Sutton asked about Erika’s new house, and Erika said she’d gotten a little tree. Sutton said sometimes you had to force it, and Erika said she might as well enjoy it. Sutton told Erika about her father committing suicide two days before Christmas. Porter had been 9 months, so she was excited about her baby’s first Christmas, and it was the first day of her mom’s retirement. In her interview, Sutton said, all marriages are complicated, and we saw a clip of her asking her mom if she missed Sutton’s father. Her mom said she’d been married to him, and couldn’t be expected to feel the same way as Sutton, since the relationships were totally different. She didn’t miss him. Sutton said her dad was a special and great person. Talking about him made it seem like he was still alive. Erika said Sutton’s story was more tragic than what she was going through. In Sutton’s interview, she said, if she could survive her dad’s traumatic death, she knew Erika could survive this. She was a strong lady. Erika thanked Sutton for sharing, and Sutton said, it’s effing tough.

Kyle made her famous lasagna, but I think it’s only famous in her family, since I’ve never heard of it. Kathy kibbitzed while Kyle was cooking, and in Kyle’s interview, she said she’ll always be the baby sister. Whatever they were doing, Kathy would tell her to try it a different way. Kathy used some stale bread as a percussion instrument, marching around the kitchen. LisaR put on sequined jumpsuit, saying, she had to wear this sh*t somewhere. Kathy started taking her suitcase upstairs, one stair at a time, until Dorit rescued her. In Dorit’s interview, she said, if it were anyone else, she’d tell them carry their own damn bag, but it was Kathy, and Dorit loved her. Dorit said Kathy was used to everyone doing everything for her, and Kathy proved it when we saw her idea of a tablescape was a lemon weighing down a pile of napkins, and a bowl of the stale bread she’d been goofing around with. Kyle said that was not her bread. Erika told LisaR that she’d heated the pool for three days, then got the bill and turned it off. She’d heated the pool at Tom’s house for twenty years, and never got in it or saw the bill. In her interview, LisaR said she had no idea how many times Harry had told her to stop spending so much. She didn’t always listen, but she heard it a lot. Kyle knocked down a bunch of spice bottles, and in Kathy’s interview, she said Kyle was a good cook, but easily distracted. She had ADHD GHIJK. Kathy tried to clean up the glass with the fireplace grate brush. I couldn’t even figure that logic out.

Kyle said it was the most unattractive table ever, and we found out Drake follows LisaR on Instagram. In Crystal’s interview, she said she would die if Drake followed her, which I could totally see, since she’s twelve. Kyle said it was a new moon, and they were supposed to get rid of toxic energy, and manifest what they wanted. Kathy said you thought of it, and blew out a candle, and Dorit pushed a candle toward Erika. Erika closed her eyes, made a wish, and blew out the candle. In her interview, she said she’d do anything to make it better. She’d take a prayer circle, a lunar eclipse a quaalude. She’d take anything. Anything but confession. She wasn’t confessing. Erika said she appreciated their kind words and support. Kyle asked what was going to happen with Erika Jayne? but Erika didn’t know. It was an expensive business. She’d just let go of her office space. Kathy said, the richest man in the world will try to take the jewelry back, and Erika said, that’s how tacky they are. Erika didn’t know if there was anything to get, since they’d frozen everything. In her opinion, Tom should turn in his bar card, and stop practicing. In LisaR’s interview, she said the last time she saw Tom was at his house, and he’d seemed charming and with it, but maybe something was going on. Erika said Tom’s sole identity was being a great lawyer, and he put it ahead of everything. When she’d noticed he was on the decline, he held on tighter. He was afraid and mad, and mean AF. In Dorit’s interview, she said she got why Erika was keeping it private. She’d spent 20 years defending the relationship. All everyone ever saw was an old man with a young woman. Kyle said dementia could make someone angry and belligerent, and Crystal said, when her dad got Alzheimer’s, he would get angry at himself for not remembering things. In her interview, she said her dad was brilliant, and then didn’t know the President and the year. It was like a cruel joke. Erika said when she’d told Kyle that Tom had a car accident, it was true, but she hadn’t told the rest of it. We flashed back to Erika telling Kyle about Tom having an accident where he wasn’t hurt but the car was. Erika said he was unconscious for 12 hours; she found him. In LisaR’s interview, she said, at the time, she thought Tom had broken his ankle and would be fine. This is way different. Erika told them that Tom had a head injury, and broke his ankle, shoulder, and clavicle. He’d gone off a cliff. In Erika’s interview, she said, now that the truth had come to light, she could talk about it. She’d wanted to respect Tom’s privacy. She said Tom had lived there for 30 plus years, took a wrong turn by the house, and ended up in the wrong place. He’d tumbled out of the car, and finally called her.

When she asked where he’d been, she’d assumed he was with another woman. Kyle told her to roll it back; what woman? Erika told her, take her pick. He’d been cheating on her for a while. In her interview, LisaR said, with all the effing things going on, how does Erika process this? Erika said, they had no idea what she was living through, and what she’d been through. This was her life. Kyle said it wasn’t the first time she’d heard about Tom cheating, and in her interview, she said, there was always gossip. Nothing solid; just rumblings. She couldn’t picture 81 year old Tom cheating on Erika. She was a trophy wife; treat her like a trophy. Erika said she never went through Tom’s phone. She’d never touched anything, but after Yolanda divorced David, she opened Tom’s phone, and said, wow; okay. In her interview, she said, it was text messages and pictures, and looked like it had been years long. She knew it was years long. She told the women it was hard to hide, and he became sloppy. She knew a lot. LisaR asked if Tom denied it, and Erika said, nope. Kyle wondered why, and Erika said, where was she going? Kyle said, anywhere. Erika was beautiful, and had her whole life ahead of her. But Kathy said that was the way Erika was made to feel, by how he treated her. Erika said Tom had told her straight up, this was his house. Where was she going to go? In Dorit’s interview, she said Erika wasn’t as tough as everyone  thought. Kyle said she knew Erika was a good person, and Erika said she appreciated them listening and understanding. She would be okay, but it wasn’t okay right now. It got quiet for a moment, and Sutton said, how about them Mets who’d like some pancake cake? She thought it was what Erika needed. Sutton went to get whatever the hell that is, and Kyle and LisaR hugged Erika. In Sutton’s interview, she said it was like something out of a movie. Part horror part, part film noire. It was a movie she would not want a starring role in. LisaR said she measured her days by, what was going on with covid, what was going on with Erika, and was her daughter still going out with Scott Disick? She told them to picture her kitchen at 7:30 in the morning, and Harry saying, how did Scott Disick get into our lives? Kyle asked if Amelia and Scott were still together, but LisaR said she wasn’t sure what level it was at. It felt more like friendship. Kyle told her, nice try. LisaR said she wasn’t sure how deep it was, and they laughed.

This season, a vintage sailboat ride; seals mating; lots of drinking; Erika says, if you want to know who your friends are, get old and go broke; Sutton says Kyle is pissing her off; Mauricio says, there are lies all over the place; Erika says she’d like to know where the money is; Garcelle says, f*** Tom; and Erika says she’s coming for Sutton if Sutton calls her a liar again.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

It was only a matter of time. I missed the beginning, but here are the highlights I gathered. At the dance, Sonny/Mike told Nina that Eli wasn’t all he was cracked up to be, but she didn’t want to hear it. Olivia met Dante at the hospital, thinking he could use seeing a friendly face after his session with Doc. He said he was glad she was looking out for him and Rocco. Maxie went to Nathan’s grave, wearing a widow’s disguise – i.e. big, dark glasses and a scarf – and told him what happened at the wedding. She said, now she felt trapped. Brook came to visit Chase, and he asked her to keep him company until Willow got back. Anna told Finn that Chase had been poisoned by Peter. Jordan came to see Carly, who told her that Cyrus had Florence back. Jordan asked Carly to let her do her job. That’s when I sat down to watch.

Phyllis tells Jax, when his call upset Nina, she took the phone, and asked him not to pressure her. He didn’t listen then, and him showing up there isn’t respecting Nina’s request now. If he thinks he’s going to sweet talk her into helping him, think again. They’re not off to a good start. He says he’s glad she and Lenny are looking after Nina, but Phyllis says, Nina doesn’t need looking after. She’s a strong, brilliant, beautiful woman. He says, that’s the reason he loves her, and Lenny says he’s about to get the tone. Phyllis says, he is. For someone who claims to love Nina, he sure broke her heart.

Sonny tells Nina, one more thing about Eli, then he’ll stop. She says, forever? and he says, for tonight. He looked into Eli’s failed business venture in San Francisco. She asks how he did that, and he says he made some calls. She asks, why? Eli was up front about losing his shirt, and Sonny says, it turns out, the real story is, Eli was arrested for embezzlement. His partners tried to press charges… Eli says the operative word is tried. The charges were dropped. Sonny says, Eli agreed to a settlement. He’s not a lawyer, but he thinks when you’re innocent, you do everything to clear your name, and Eli settled. Eli says a settlement costs less than a trial, and Sonny says, unless you’re guilty, and want it over with. Eli says it was over with until Sonny/Mike dug it up. They’re talking about something that happened 3000 miles away. What does he want? He asked questions, and Eli gave him honest answers, but that wasn’t enough. Sonny went poking thought his life to find something to embarrass him in front of Nina and his friends. Nina says Eli doesn’t have to talk about it, but Eli says he’ll bring it out in the open. It’s simple. He hit rock bottom, and made restitution. He came there to start over. Hasn’t Sonny ever derailed his life so bad that he bent over backward to get back on track? Oh, he forgot. Sonny doesn’t know what he’s done.

Brook says if she’s keeping Willow’s seat warm, that must mean Willow and Chase are back on track. Chase says, it seems that way. When he wakes up, she’s there, and she looks at him like you want someone to look at you when you wake up. It’s the only thing making this bearable. She says, points to Willow, and to any woman who can bring a smile to his handsome face.

Michael tells Willow, it’s getting harder for Chase to hide that he’s hurting, and she says she doesn’t understand. How did Chase get so sick so fast? They’re doing test after test, and still, no one knows what to do or where to start. Michael puts his head in his hands, and she asks if he wants to tell her what bothering him, or does she already know? He says he feels terrible. Chase is his friend, and he doesn’t want to hurt him… She says, but he wishes she’d told Chase, and he says he wishes she’d had the chance. It’s terrible, wishing Chase would get well, so they can break his heart. What does that say about him? She tells him, it says he’s an honest man in a terrible spot. She thinks, she hopes, that she’s honest and in the same spot. He says, being together as a couple, and spending time with Wiley in their home, he wants to be back there. She says she does too.

Finn asks what Anna is talking about. How did Peter poison Chase? Anna says, it was a special formula, and Finn says he’s going to kill Peter. She says, he can’t, but he says he’s a doctor, and knows how to kill someone a thousand different ways. As for the oath, do no harm, killing Peter will prevent a lot of harm. She says, hear her out. The first thing was, Valentin – Finn says, another name he’s sick of hearing – discovered Jason didn’t kill Franco; Peter killed Franco. He says, of course (🍷). Did Franco even do anything, or was Peter just bored? She says Franco was recovering Drew’s memories, and he says, another one of Peter’s victims. She says, she and Valentin were trying to put together Peter’s crimes, and Franco was remembering. Peter needed leverage. Finn asks what that has to do with Chase, and  she says, Peter wanted to stop them from bringing him to justice. He says, why poison Chase? and she says, it was an accident. Peter was trying to poison him.

Finn says, somehow Peter screwed up, and poisoned Chase? Anna says, Peter has an antidote that can keep Chase alive, if not cure him altogether, and Finn asks how he gets it. She says Peter crushed the vial in front of her, but she thinks it was just to get to her, and he must have a supply, but Peter’s plan can backfire. She gives Finn a plastic bag with the remains of the vial in it, and says Finn can analyze it, and create his own antidote. He looks at the bag, and says, the vial could have been full of water, another one of Peter’s lies. She says, maybe. What is he going to do? He says, call the cops, but she says, not if he wants Chase to live.

Brook asks Chase if they know what’s wrong yet, and he says, it’s not food poisoning, and it’s not infectious. They’re still doing tests. She says, he came in last night, and they still don’t know what’s wrong? He says he developed neuropathy; another symptom. Brook says she knows neuropathy is not just another symptom. She came to cheer him up, but his mysterious illness has kneecapped her. He says she’s still making him feel better, making his mysterious illness all about her. She says he’d tell her if anything was wrong more than it is, right? and he says he’s tired and achy, but he’s sure they’ll figure it out soon. She says she needs him to be okay. She’s got something going on. He asks if something is up with the baby, but she says, it’s not the baby; it’s the baby’s father. He was slow to start, but now he’s amped up with controlling the situation. Dante comes to the door, and asks, is this a private party, or can anyone join? Chase says he’s not interrupting anything important, and Brook says, don’t talk like she’s not there. Dante says, believe him, everyone knows when she’s in the room. Her bodyguard is looking for her. She asks if he’s just saying that to get rid of her, and he asks if it matters. She leaves, and Dante asks how Chase is doing. Chase says, not knowing is the worst part. Whatever it is, keeps changing, and not for the better. Dante says he’s sorry, and Chase says, do him a favor and don’t say anything, especially to Brook. He thinks he scared her. Dante says other than, I don’t know, what are they saying? Chase says, they’re running more tests, and trying to make him comfortable, but that’s about it. He’s getting sick of waiting. They need to figure out what’s going on, like now.

Maxie tells Nathan, when she was walking down the aisle, looking at Peter, she really believed she was getting back some of the happiness she lost when he died. She thought her life was perfect again, but it was just a mirage. As it turns out, Peter’s not the wonderful man she thought. Waiting for her was an illusion, a disguise. It turns out, Peter was Henrik all along.

Nina tells Sonny, she’s made her share of mistakes, but she’s also had her share of second chances. Sonny asks if she’s stolen from her company, and she says, no, but she can say she’s taken things that weren’t hers. He asks if she gave them back, and she says, eventually. Eli says, as did he, but Sonny says, stealing from your own company is like stealing from family. It shows a lack of loyalty. Eli says he’s never heard it put that way, and Sonny says, it doesn’t surprise him. Why should Phyllis and Lenny trust Eli? Nina asks who Sonny is to judge after everything he’s done?

Jason says, Sonny told him how Shawn stepped up while he was gone; he appreciates it. Shawn says, Sonny has always done right by him. He was sorry to hear about Sonny’s passing. Jason asks if Shawn has a lot of friends looking out for him, but Shawn says they mostly look out for each other. Jason says, mostly? and Shawn says, Sonny is gone, but Cyrus isn’t. When there’s a shift in power, a man has to consider his own best interests.

Carly asks Jordan what doing her job looks like, and Jordan says she’s sure Carly is familiar with it. She knows an arrest when she sees it. Carly asks when Jordan is going to arrest Cyrus, and don’t tell her that she can’t comment on an ongoing investigation. She doesn’t want details; just a ballpark. When is Cyrus going to be back behind bars? Jordan says she’s getting close, and Carly says, is she? Sonny is dead, Jason is in prison, and Laura is stuck with a half-brother who’s going to start a mob war so epic, no one will be left standing. If Jordan wants Carly to sit on her hands while she solves the problem, Jordan is going to have to give her a lot more.

Eli asks what Sonny/Mike has done, and Nina says she doesn’t know what he’s done; none of them do. That’s the problem. She’s sorry, but until he finds out more about his past, Sonny isn’t in a position to judge. Sonny says he might not know his history, but he knows the kind person he is. What if she doesn’t trust the man in front of her, but trusts the man he was before he lost his memory? She says she doesn’t know. She just needs to clear her head. She’s going to get some fresh air, and find Phyllis and Lenny. Don’t fight. She leaves, and Eli says Sonny is telling Nina and everybody else to see him for who he is, and what he’s done, but maybe he’s not the one Nina needs to see through.

Willow says she’s more committed than ever to building a life with Michael and Wiley, but one of the reasons they got together was because of Chase and Sasha trying to help. They did what they thought was best. Michael says, now it’s their turn to do the best for Chase. She says she can’t end things right now. She can’t start a life with Michael by hurting Chase while he’s down. She knows it’s a lot to ask, but she’s thinking that together they can help each other get through whatever is going to happen. She asks if he’s okay, and he says he agrees Chase is a priority, and this is the best way to help him. It’s frustrating to wait, but that’s okay. He’ll wait as long as it takes.

On the phone, Brook says she doesn’t care what Valentin told him. He can’t roam the hospital searching for her. She’s on the 7th floor; 7 is after 6. Go there, and wait in the waiting area. Michael says she’s on a short leash, and Brook says, it’s a temporary, necessary evil. She thanks Willow, and Willow says, for what? Brook says, Chase isn’t nearly as cool, calm, and collected as he’s pretending to be. Willow staying with him is the only thing keeping him going. Willow says she’s just glad she can help. She should get back. Willow leaves, and Brook asks if there’s anything Michael wants to tell her.

Anna tells Finn, one of Peter’s conditions was that she not tell anyone. Finn says she let him know, and she says, of course (🍷), but he can’t let anyone else know. If he goes to the cops… He says he gets the picture. She tells him to analyze the pieces from the vial. In the best case, he can recreate the antidote, but if that’s not possible, he can narrow the tests down. Finn asks what she’s going to do while he does a reverse analysis to find an antidote for an unknown toxin. She says she’s not going to stand by and let Chase die.

Phyllis tells Jax, Nina was emotionally bent up when she got here. She was deeply wounded from the lies he and Carly told her. She’s healing, and asked for the time and space to do that. If he loves her, he’ll respect her wishes. He says he just needs to see her, and Phyllis asks, what about what she just said made him think that’s a good idea? Lenny says, Nina can decide for herself if she wants to see him. Too late. Nina sees him, and says, Jax.

Nina asks what Jax is doing there, and he says, he told her on the phone that he needed to talk to her in person. She says, and she told him, she’s not ready. Phyllis says he shouldn’t have come there. He needs to go. Lenny asks if Nina wants him to get Mike. He and Mike can walk Jax back to his car. Nina says, no, but they should go find Mike. He and Eli… Phyllis says, say no more, and Lenny says they won’t be far. They leave, and Jax says they’re very protective of her. She says, they’re good people, and he says, what about Eli and Mike? She says, they’re friends of Phyllis and Lenny’s, but they don’t get along. It’s nothing for him to be concerned about. She says, he told her that he wanted to talk for a minute. The clock’s ticking. He says, first, it’s good to see her, but she says, it’s not good to see him. He’s going to ruin everything.

Maxie says, Spinelli tried to warn her. So did Jason and Robert, even Dante, from the second he got home. Nathan’s mom tried too, but she thought Obrecht was the one with an agenda. Everything everyone told her that she refused to hear turned out to be true. Maybe Dante was right, and part of the reason she was drawn to Peter was because he’s Nathan’s half-brother. She convinced herself that Peter was like him, but they couldn’t be more different. Nathan was honest, when Peter is the biggest liar on the planet. Actually, the biggest lie in the whole thing was the one she was telling herself, that Peter was a good, decent man. Now she has to pretend she’s thinking about working things out; taking me time. God knows what Peter will do once he’s convinced it’s over. Robert is at home, covering for her, in case Peter makes one of his impromptu visits, and Britt… He’d be so proud of his sister. In a cosmic redemption move, Britt is actually helping her, which leads her to the worst part of the whole thing. The way she sees it, there’s only one way to protect her baby.

Jordan says she understands how frustrated Carly is. Jordan spent so many years trying to put Cyrus away. He pushes them to the brink, until they’re so desperate, they’ll do anything just to be done with him. Carly says she can’t disagree with that, and Jordan says they should disagree less. They’re on the same side as far as Cyrus is concerned. Carly says, the enemy of my enemy and all that? and Jordan says, yeah. Cyrus knows how to skirt the law, and stay outside of it where he’s not touched. Does it remind Carly of anyone else? Carly starts to protest at the comparison, but Jordan says what she wouldn’t give for some of Sonny’s insight. She’s sure Carly feels the same way. She promises she’s going to stop Cyrus this time. Carly says, if she’s finished, she’ll tell Jordan why she asked her there.

Jason tells Shawn, Sonny valued loyalty, and he values those who remain loyal. Cyrus is the problem… Shawn asks what Jason thinks he should do. Sonny is dead, and Jason is in there. If one weren’t true, he’d have a shot. Jason asks what he’s saying, and Shawn says, if he needs to do something about Cyrus, he’ll handle it himself. We see Shawn has a knife.

Jax asks what Nina means, ruin everything? and she says, she means her and this place, and the peace. He says he didn’t come to upset her, and she says of course (🍷) he didn’t, but here they are, and he’s upsetting her trying to make things better. He says he misses her, and he loves her. Pease don’t shut him out.

Phyllis asks if Sonny is by himself, and he says, not anymore. He asks where Lenny is, and she says, he got tired from dancing, so she sent him home to recover. She came over to referee him and Eli. Where is Eli? Sonny says, out of town, if they’re lucky, and she says Eli said Sonny might have a few words about him, and Sonny says he’ll tell her the same thing he told Nina. Back in San Francisco, Eli was arrested for embezzlement. She says she’s known a long time. When he came back, she could tell he was licking his wounds, but she decided to give him the time he needed to own up. Sonny asks if Eli told her that he’d been arrested, and she says, not yet. He guesses Eli is late, and she says she appreciates his instinct to protect her and Lenny, but it’s not his place to tell her about Eli’s past. He says, somebody had to. She’s way too trusting. She says, that’s why Sonny/Mike has a roof over his head. That’s not the only thing bothering him, is it? He tells her, something Nina said got under his skin. She said he had no right to judge Eli when he doesn’t know what he did before he lost his memory. She asks if it scares him, and he says, a little. Does it scare her? She says, no, and he asks, why not? She says, because the man she sees is honorable, kind, works hard, and has both feet on the ground. He’s a good friend, even if he’s over-protective, and best of all, he makes a mean bolognaise. He says she’s right about that last one, and she says, all of it. She doesn’t need to know anything else, but that’s her. He has to decide what he wants to know about himself.

Jax asks if he and Nina can go somewhere talk private. They’ll just tell Phyllis and Lenny where they’re going, so they don’t worry. Nina says she’s sorry. His minutes are up, and she’s not going anywhere with him.

Dante is talking baseball to Chase, when Willow comes back. She asks how it’s going, and Chase says, they were just catching up. Dante says he doesn’t know if it’s his riveting conversation that made Chase sleepy, or he’s boring Chase. He gets up, and says, it’s good to see him, and Chase says, it’s good to see Dante too. He thanks Dante for coming by, and Dante tells him to get well soon. There are parking tickets that need to be written, and pencils that need to be pushed. He leaves, and Willow asks if she can get anything for Chase. He looks tired. Suddenly, Chase is gripped with pain.

Anna tells Finn, Peter is focused on Maxie right now, and she’s letting him believe she’s caving to his demand for help. Finn asks how much time that will buy them, and she says she’s hoping it will distract Peter up until the baby is born. He says Peter strikes him as a multitasker, but she says, if she’s right, Peter has easy access to the antidote nearby. She can monitor his whereabouts. He says he has a better idea. Stay the hell out of it.

The guard has Shawn in a hold, and asks what the hell he was thinking. We see a bloody knife, and Shawn says, Jason came at him. What was he supposed to do? Jason lies bleeding on the floor.

Carly tells Jordan, this wasn’t a courtesy call. Jordan knows from TJ what Cyrus is capable of. She wants to warn Jordan that Cyrus has his mother back. She might want to protect her family. Jordan appreciates that, and says, here’s one for Carly. Cyrus is working so hard to cultivate his image as an upstanding citizen, it’s giving them time to build a case. Carly hopes Jordan is right, and hopes Jordan keeps doing what she’s doing, but watch her back. Jordan says she will, and tells Carly to do the same. She leaves.

Maxie says she’s looked at the situation from every possible angle, and it comes down to this. She can’t condemn her daughter to a life with Peter as her father. Maxie starts to cry, and says, so if keeping her daughter safe means having to give her up, and pretend she’s dead, that’s what she’s going to do. Olivia listens in. I’m relieved, since I thought Peter might be listening.

On the phone, Brook says she’s coming. She slips back into an alcove, and adjusts her fake belly. She quickly walks past the reception desk.

Dante tells Michael that Willow is with Chase, and Michael says, Chase needs her right now. Dante asks if Michael is okay, and says, he’s a good dude. Michael says, thanks, but not always. Willow is, and he’s just trying to follow her example.

Willow says maybe Portia can give Chase something for the pain, but he says, don’t go; it’s starting to let up. She sits back down, and he tells her, Portia said it would come in waves. It will pass. She tells him to let her know if she needs to do anything, but he says she’s already doing it. He might not be able to hold her hand, but he can still look at her. Seeing her face makes him feel better.

**Finn tells Anna not to come anywhere near Chase. All the times Anna pushed him away to protect him from her world, he should have listened. He was pulled into the world of her psychotic family, and they poisoned his. She did this, not just Peter. She let Peter in. She asks what he wants her to do, and he says, pray he can find an antidote for what her nephew used to poison his son. He stomps off.

Phyllis suggests she and Sonny make a deal to put this nonsense between him and Eli to rest for the night, and enjoy themselves. He promised Nina another dance. Find her, and dance that dance. What does he say? He says she can be real pushy, and she laughs, saying, that’s how she gets things done. Go find Nina. We see a guy dressed like a cowboy near the refreshments. He’s wearing a bandana that hides half his face, and a gun.

Nina tells Jax, don’t talk. She’s still angry that he hid the identity of her daughter for months to protect his ex-wife. And in doing that, he kept her grandchild from her. He thinks saying it’s because he loves and wants to protect her, makes it okay. It doesn’t make it okay. He doesn’t love her. He asks how she can say that, and she says he didn’t respect her. She said she needed space and time away, yet here he is. If he loved and respected her, he wouldn’t be there. She needs him to go right now, and needs him to stay gone.

On a cell phone, Shawn says, Jason is on his way to the hospital. Carly thanks him, and says she’ll take it from there. She smiles.

Tomorrow, Molly tells TJ to congratulate her, Sonny tries to prevent a robbery at the dance, and Shawn says, it’s been a while.

🍹 I’m catching up on Overserved, and IMO, the only problem with this show is that it’s only a half-hour. LVP had guests Jeanie Mai and Meagan Good to Villa Rosa for A Night in Morocco. Jeanie video chatted with her mom, who was also at a party, and joked that next time she wanted to be paid. She seemed like a lot of fun. They played a dare game, and Jeanie did some twerking she learned from Cardi B, and we found out that Meagan once had a pet monkey who threw poop at the walls. Yeah. That’s the problem with exotic pets. They shouldn’t be pets. And they will wreck your house. Pandora brought out Moroccan tea in glasses, toting them in a lantern frames, which was pretty fancy. They played Get Pumped, and we found out Jeanie likes to do it with the lights on, because she likes to see what she’s working with. Very sensible. LVP had discovered Meagan loved The Bachelor, so she conjured up Nick Viall on her tablet to give Meagan The Bachelor Experience. Nick played along as all the women gave him their opening pick-up lines, and he picked Meagan for the final rose. In the next episode – technically tonight – LVP will host Lala Kent and Anna Camp. I’ll be watching it in the wee hours.

🏖 It finally came. The finale of The Worst House Ever Summer House. Stephen wanted to make sure he and Lindsay were on the same page, and in Lindsay’s interview, she said she didn’t need flowers every day; she just needed him to show up. He was finally boyfriend she’d been asking for. Hannah told Des she’d snapped after her sit-down with Luke. He told her not to be upset about getting angry, since that group gets angry over a pool noodle. Okay, maybe he didn’t say pool noodle, but it was something just as stupid, and pool noodle sounds funnier. Paige said it was the first time ever in relationship that she knew what she wanted – not to be in a relationship. She thought Perry would be blindsided, since she decided to sit on this information, instead of telling him right away. Amanda and Kyle decided to have a pretend white wedding, and Kyle said it was the first summer that he didn’t want to end. It was epic. They played Dirty Jenga, where things were written on the pieces like, show us your… never mind. They drank and acted like idiots. Amanda said if Lindsay got engaged at her pretend wedding, she’d lose her sh*t. The now sensible Carl left the party early. Lindsay got pissed for no reason, and told Stephen, STFU, and he said he was out. Whee! The roller coaster ride continues. Very mature behavior too. And how old is Lindsay now? 45?

Lindsay whined, why does this happen every time? and I answered, because you get drunk and act stupid. Kyle just wanted to eat Tostido’s, which was possibly the most rational thing he’s done all summer. Danielle told Robert, welcome to the house. Lindsay said Stephen’s defense mechanism was to run away, but I thought it was his mechanism to stop listening to her drunken rants. Lindsay asked Danielle if she was the problem in her relationship with Stephen, and when Danielle said, yes, she was like, what? She admitted she was constantly testing Stephen, but didn’t trust him not to leave her again. She said his running again made her question everything. In Luke’s interview, he said, now that Hannah was occupied, a weight had been lifted from him.

In Ciara’s interview, she acknowledged how crazy it had been for her to stay in a house with her ex and a bunch of strangers. She said she was alive to tell the story, and loved the girls. Lindsay and Stephen apologized to each other, but Lindsay said it had shown her that they weren’t ready to live together. She told him that she had abandonment issues, and if he ran away again, it was over. Everything looked elegant – all white with tealights – for the pretend wedding, but I figured it was only a matter of time before it got messy. Kyle and Amanda walked down the aisle together, after Kyle said they were presenting themselves, but there was no music, which seemed odd. Carl officiated, and was quite funny. Ciara caught the bouquet, but said she shouldn’t have, since she had no potential. Speeches were made, and in Hannah’s interview, she said it had always been the three of them – her, Amanda, and Paige – but because she chose to stand up to Kyle, and Paige kept quiet, being a bridesmaid was Paige’s reward. Then came the dancing. And the drinking. And a fog machine. And Danielle officially becoming Robert’s girlfriend. So is this a thing now? I’m surprised this group doesn’t send out announcements when they become boyfriend/girlfriend. It ended with everyone jumping in the pool, and Paige saying there’s no one that she’d choose to spend summer with, other than these psychos. Everybody loved everybody, until…

Next time, the reunion. Kyle walks. So does Hannah. And oh my God, there’s going to be a Nightmare in the Snow Winter House. Don’t these people have real jobs?

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

I missed the beginning, since that’s the way the week is going, but what happened was… Carly met Diane in the PCPD interrogation room to go over what Carly was going to say to the FBI. Diane said Carly should stick to her original statement, and say Nina misheard them. Maxie found Nina at Crimson, and said she’d heard about what happened at the cemetery, and Nina told her about Jax and Carly knowing Nelle was her daughter. Jax met Alexis at the café, and she said it seemed like he had something on his mind. Michael told Willow about Nelle being Nina’s daughter, and how Nina thought Carly was responsible for Nelle’s death. Anna and Finn were getting ready to look for Obrecht, but Finn had to deliver Peter’s tux to him first. When he left, Valentin showed up, and Anna said she could tell he didn’t have good news. He said their suspicions about Peter were right, and it was worse than they feared. Britt met Obrecht in the club Curtis is thinking of buying. Obrecht showed up wearing a dark fedora and trench coat, looking like a spy, and Britt told her the sparrow had landed. Peter went into the apartment, dropping the mail on the table, but not noticing the envelope from Dimitri Marick. Then I sat down, and…

Diane tells Carly, they’re going to want to interview Jax. Is there any chance he had second thoughts about backing her? Carly says he told Nina that they’d talked to the authorities before they found out Nelle was Nina’s daughter. They all felt bad, before Nina went off at Sonny’s grave, which is exactly why they chose not to tell her. Diane says, and here we are. They should have told Nina the moment they discovered it; it would have saved them a world of pain. Carly says, Jax devested Nina, and Diane says, that’s her point. Will Jax think Carly is more deserving of his protection than Nina is?

Jax tells Alexis that Nina was searching for her daughter, when he and Carly found out Nelle was Nina’s daughter. They chose not to tell her, but the truth came out. Alexis says, it inevitably does, and he says Nina felt betrayed. She’d misinterpreted his conversation with Carly, and went to the authorities. Her statement was given to the FBI. Alexis says, about? and Jax says, the night Nelle died. She says he knows attorney/client privilege is no longer a thing for her, and he says he’ll just say, certain facts were simplified to protect certain people. She says, in other words, Carly. Don’t tell her. He says he can confirm Nelle’s death was an accident; their original statement was simplified. That’s why they were… She says she’s not able to give him advice, and he says he understands. She says, simplifying can make him sound like the biggest criminal. Why further incriminate himself? Just her two cents. He says he appreciates it, but she says he seems to have reservations. He says he was wondering what’s the best thing for Nina.

Nina tells Maxie, she talked herself into believing that once Jax realized he was keeping Wiley from her, he would tell her the truth. She was looking for him to salvage… something. When she found him, he was with Carly, and they were talking about Nelle’s death on the cliff. Carly was there, and when Nelle fell, Jax encouraged Carly to keep quiet. Maxie says, Jax told Carly to lie, not the other way around? and Nina says, she had no intention of confronting him. She wanted to go someplace private, but of course (🍷) Carly needed Jax. Maxie tells her, don’t get mad, but they were at Carly’s husband’s funeral. Nina says she should have heard Carly. She thinks Carly was happy that she made a scene, so Carly would have an outlet for her anger. She knows it wasn’t the right place or time, but she swears everything she said was true.

Obrecht asks what sparrow Britt is speaking of, and Britt says, herself. Anna isn’t the only one deserving of a code name. Obrecht asks, what code name? and Britt says, scarecrow. Obrecht says, that’s not a code name. It’s an epithet of scorn and derision. Britt says the scarecrow confronted her, demanding to know where Obrecht was, and Obrecht says, Britt said nothing? Britt says, of course (🍷) the sparrow remained silent, but the scarecrow revealed more than she intended. She was trying to determine Obrecht’s whereabouts, by asking questions of the WSB. Obrecht asks what the WSB told Anna, and Britt says Anna thought they were stonewalling her, but that’s just her amateur suspicion. Obrecht says, no doubt Anna isn’t used to being kept in the dark, and Britt says Anna warned Peter that Obrecht was on the loose. Anna didn’t say that to her, but if she hasn’t told him, it’s only a matter of time. Obrecht says, perhaps it’s what she does with the time that matters.

Valentin tells Anna, before he says anything, he’ll give her a choice. She can drop this, and let her questions about Peter lie, believe he’s the man she wants him to be… Anna says, or the truth. Why does he want her to know? Is he somehow incriminated? He says, for once, Peter’s actions have nothing to do with him, other than being the man who started Peter on this path. Anna says Valentin did what he did, but didn’t make peter the man he is today. Neither did Faison, Alex or her; he’s his own person. He says she wants to believe Peter is someone else, someone better, and she says Valentin knew Peter was lying to her all along, didn’t he?

Britt says she doesn’t get why Obrecht is being under the radar, unless it’s to wear that get-up; it’s fabulous. Obrecht preens, and says, danke. Britt says, Obrecht was cleared of all charges and released. It’s not as exciting as prison, but it’s less stressful. Obrecht says she’s not avoiding law enforcement; it’s for the element of surprise, so she can trap and unmask Henrik. Britt asks, how? She hasn’t been able to prove anything. Obrecht says, no one that dirty can cover up everything. The proof is out there. Britt says, Obrecht wants revenge, and Obrecht says, of course (🍷), but she wants to protect Maxie and James even more. She swore on Nathan’s grave that she would. Britt says she’s not the only one swearing on Nathan’s grave. She was there the other day and ran into Peter, who was making a few promises himself.

Finn goes to Maxie and Peter’s apartment, and asks if Peter is ready to do this. Peter says, bring it on, and Finn hands him a garment bag. Magically, they’re dressed in black tie, and Peter says, too much? Finn says, maybe, but he looks good. Peter says, look at them, ready to tie the knot, and Finn says, it’s amazing what the love of a good woman will do.

Jax tells Alexis, Nina’s pain had unintended side effects. He had to take steps to protect Carly and Josslyn. She says, if he takes Nina’s side, it will give credence to her claim, and asks if there’s any hard evidence. He says, no, and she asks if there were any witnesses. He says, no, and she asks how Nina would benefit by him not sticking to his story. He says, Nina would know he’s on her side.

Nina tells Maxie that she was getting angrier, and lost her composure. She could feel the stares, followed by the cringes. Maxie says, as someone who can share in public cringe-worthiness, solidarity, sister. Nina says she hears that. They were thinking, there’s crazy Nina, having a breakdown again. They should have focused on what Jax and Carly did. That’s why she went to the Commissioner, and told her everything they did. Maxie says, she turned them in? and Nina says, someone has to hold Carly responsible for killing her daughter.

Michael tells Willow, Nelle’s death was an accident. His mother didn’t cause her fall, but But Nina went to the FBI (actually, she didn’t, Jordan did, but I’ll let it pass), and told them a crime was committed. Now they want to interview his mother. Willow says, Nina went for the worst possible course of action, lashing out at Wiley’s other grandmother. Willow tells him, her relationship with Nina has been rocky at best, but then Nina testified at Wiley’s custody hearing. He says, a game changer, and she says, Nina showed up out of compassion for their child. Everything Nina did for Wiley happened before she knew Wiley was her grandson. She may be acting badly now, but people do awful things when they’re grieving. Maybe it will help Nina and Wiley to let them know each other.

Maxie asks if Nina is trying to get the case reopened, and Nina says, damn right. Maxie says that she gets that Nelle is Nina’s daughter, but she was also a raging psychopath. She made Michael and Carly’s lives hell for years. Nina says she’s not excusing Nelle’s litany of crimes, but she was also a person. As her mother, shouldn’t she want to know how Nelle died? Maxie says, of course (🍷), but the question Nina should be asking, is how Nelle became the person she was. Nina says she already knows the answer. Her mother gave Nelle away, and she was raised without any love by a man – Nina starts to cry – who literally sold her for parts. She sits at her desk, crying, and Maxie sits opposite her. She says she can’t imagine what Nina is feeling now, knowing what Nelle went through, and that there was nothing she could do to stop it, but lots of people live difficult lives and experience terrible abuse and hardships, and they still manage to be good people. There came a point where Nelle stopped being a victim of circumstance, and decided to hurt people. Nina wonders if Maxie is saying she should drop it; cut Jax and Carly out of her life. Maxie tells Nina, that’s not for her to say, but she thinks Nina should ask herself, if she was Carly, and saw Nelle go over the cliff, would her first thought be to help her? Or would she be thinking, is Nelle going pull her over the edge if she tries?

Carly whines to Diane that the Feds are going to look for any inconsistency that leads to obstruction of justice just because she’s Sonny’s wife… Sonny’s widow. Diane says, Sonny left behind an allegedly successful enterprise, that’s at present unprotected. Any prosecutor could use the case to uncover it. Carly says, there is no case to make. She’s sticking to her statement.

Alexis asks Jax if he wants some hard earned life advice, and he tells her, go ahead. She says, throwing yourself under the bus because you want to prove you care is not all it’s cracked up to be. He thanks her, and says he should get going; he’s already late. She says, the Feds don’t like to be kept waiting. Does he know what he’s going to do? He says he thinks so.

Obrecht says, Henrik visiting the sacred ground her Nathan is buried in is abhorrent. She hopes Britt spat on him. Britt says she did one better. She talked about how good and decent Nathan was, and how that’s what Maxie loved about him. Obrecht says, it’s moments like these that make her proud, and asks how he responded. Britt says, it bugged him, but he never veered the whole time, giving his I am not my father’s son mantra. Obrecht says, let him believe that, and Britt asks if she ever thinks Peter will follow in their father’s footsteps. Obrecht says, he’s a liar and a murderer, but he’s no Caesar. Britt says, maybe he doesn’t need to be. Maybe he just needs to be a good enough bad guy that even Obrecht won’t catch him. What then?

Valentin says he told Peter that Obrecht had been released, and was probably heading for him, and Anna says, and he admitted to framing her? Valentin says, he did, and arranged the hit on Franco. She wonders why he’d arrange a hit just to abort it, and Valentin says, a fit of conscience, a change in strategy. She asks why he’d order a hit on Franco in the first place, and Valentin says, Franco was having a procedure to reverse the one that had given him Drew’s memories. A possible outcome might have been the memories becoming more intense and vivid. She says, Drew knew something that Peter didn’t want to be common knowledge, and he says, Peter is good at making people disappear who get too close to the truth. She says, he tried with Andre, and Valentin says, he arranged the attack on Andre. That means… She says, he arranged for Drew’s plane to go down.

Nina tells Maxie that Jax and Carly repeatedly lied to the authorities. She’s not wrong to want them to face the consequences. Maxie says she gets that, but she doesn’t know that sending them to prison will give Nina the peace she needs. Only Nina knows that. Nina says Maxie is right. She’s been so focused on making sure they were punished, she wasn’t thinking about Josslyn or Donna. She doesn’t want another child deprived of their parent. Maxie says, there’s one child she hasn’t talked about, who’s waiting for the avalanche of love Nina has stored up. Nina says, Wiley, and Maxie says, don’t tell her that she hasn’t thought about it. Nina says, it’s all she can think about. She’s going to spend time getting to know him. Maxie says if Nina keeps the focus on Wiley and the world she wants with him, she knows Nina will get it. Nina says Maxie is a good friend, and Maxie says, not friend – family. She made a promise with Nina and Britt over Nathan’s grave; together, no matter what. No matter what, she has Nina’s back. Now, she has a hot date with her groom-to-be.

Obrecht tells Britt, Henrik is weak. He believes he’s worthy of having the scarecrow as a mother, and worthy to take Nathan’s place. He’s desperate to maintain that belief, but he forgot, sooner or later, he’s going to crack. Britt says, all she’s hearing is posturing. Tell her that there’s an actual plan. The wedding is almost on top of them. Obrecht says Britt is right. The operation is moving too slowly. It’s time to confront the beast in its lair.

Finn tells Peter, it probably sounds incredibly corny, but being in love with Anna and being loved by her changed his life in a way he never thought possible. Peter says he never had a maternal presence in his life, and now… Finn asks if he remembers the time without it, and Peter says, quite well, too well. It’s a life he never wants to go back to. Since they’re being corny – Finn says, fire away – sometimes he thinks if there weren’t a mother in his life, he wouldn’t have changed course. He was headed down a dark road, and he’s grateful to put it behind him. Marrying Maxie, and bringing their daughter into the world is the final step in closing the door on the life he had before he met Anna.

Michael tells Willow, someone is making a strong argument for more stories, and she asks if it’s any story in particular, or should they make up a new one? What does daddy think? He says he thinks nothing makes him happier than seeing her with Wiley, and she says she’s pretty sure she knows someone else who would like to see him. He says he knows Nina deserves to see her grandson, but he doesn’t know if it’s the right time. She says, Wiley might fill the hole in Nina’s heart, and bridge the chasm between her and his mother, and he says, the little guy does have a way of bringing people together.

A man walks into the interrogation room, and says he’s Special Agent Wilson from the FBI. He’s there to follow up on some accusations by Nina Reeves regarding the death of Nelle Benson. Diane says they’re eager to cooperate, and he says, then he’ll begin. Nina stated she overheard a conversation between Jasper Jax and Carly, where Carly stated she was present when Nelle fell to her death. Is that true? Diane says, sorry. Is he asking if the statement is true, or if it’s true they had this alleged discussion? Is it the discussion of the event, or the event itself? Wilson apologizes for being unclear, and asks if Carly stated she was present at the time Nelle fell. Carly tells him, she never said that, and he asks if she was present when Nelle fell. She says she stands by her original statement, and he says he’s sure her more than capable attorney advised her to answer yes or no questions with a yes or a no. So was she present when Nelle fell to her death? Carly says, no. He asks about what Nina heard, and Carly says Nina was mistaken about what they were discussing. He says, if they weren’t discussing the events surrounding Nelle’s death, what were they talking about? and Carly says she has no idea. They were laying her husband to rest, and outside of Nina’s outburst, the day was a blur. He says, tell him again what happened on the night in question, and Carly says, she caught up with Nelle in the clearing. They fought, Nelle took off, and she never saw Nelle again. He asks where Jax fits into the scenario, and she says, he showed up after she scuffled with Nelle. He asks if she has anything she’d like to add, and Carly says, no. He thanks her, and asks them to wait outside. Jax is in the squad room, and Wilson tells him, come on in. Carly looks panicked.

Finn sees Alexis at the Bistro, and she says, the groom to be. The day is fast approaching. He says, that it is, and she asks if he’s happy or dreading it; it’s hard to tell with him. Finn sits with her, and says he’s dreading the crowds, and socializing in general. He learned a secret though, Violet taught him that the fuss is really about everyone else. Violet is loving every minute of it, so he guesses he is happy. For him. How about her? She looks happier… happyish. She says she’s had three of these, indicating her coffee cup, and has one of these. She shows him her AA chip, and he says he’s proud of her. He asks if it’s okay to say that, and she says, yeah, but she’s not too proud. It’s her second one for 24 hours in less than a week. Finn looks at it, and says he is proud of her. He believes in her. He knows how hard it is to start day one. If she ever needs a friend, he’s there.

Obrecht tells Britt, there’s been a fortuitous turn of events. She pretended to be a potential advertiser, and inquired about Nina’s assistant Maxie. She found out Maxie has dinner plans with her fiancé tonight, presenting her with the prefect opportunity. Britt says, for what? and Obrecht says, to pay a visit to Maxie and Peter’s home. What a pity they won’t be there. She and Britt laugh.

Wilson asks Diane and her client to join him and Jax in the interrogation room.

Valentin tells Anna. Peter has been working hard to cover up the true nature of his crimes, which brings them back to Franco. Anna says, Franco has been hearing Peter’s voice in his head, which is really Drew’s memory. Valentin says, Franco’s tumor retuned, so Peter blasted it all over the internet. Anna says, to discredit Franco, and Valentin says, in case he figured out what he was remembering. The only time Drew would have remembered Peter’s voice when he was connected to Shiloh and Cabot… was when they were in Afghanistan. Anna says, right, so Peter was really working with Faison and Helena all along. Valentin says, Peter may have told him months ago, but he didn’t say anything because Anna believed that was in the past, and Peter had been redeemed. He realized that redemption was a lie. She says, it was clear to everyone; to Robert and Jason, and Finn. She blinded herself to who Peter really is, and that makes her just as culpable for the harm he’s done.

Anna says she was thinking about something Alex said, after she shot her. She said the reason she gave Anna the memories of Peter was so she’d protect him, but she didn’t do that. Valentin says, nonsense. He’s the one who delivered Peter to his father. She says she doesn’t mean that; it’s not the entire reason. Cabot’s memory transfer caused her to believe Peter was her son; hers to rescue and raise the same way she did Robin, but she didn’t. She decided she preferred to carry the guilt, and turned her back on him, and that was the reason Alex hated her so much. He says, take it from a man who has to make up for damage that he’s done; Peter’s life ain’t on her. They sit, and Anna takes his hand. She says, okay. Peter’s done what he’s done. The question now is, what do they do about that? He says, take their heads out of the sand; ask the tough questions. Anna says, what’s the point of protecting Peter when he’s putting those they most love at risk? We see she has tears in her eyes.

Finn hands Alexis’s chip back to her, and she says, say something. He says, maybe, but don’t argue. She says, he doesn’t want to argue? and he says, okay. She’s one of the most brilliant, capable, and kind people he’s ever met. She says he always has her back, and he says he always will. He wants her to treat herself the way she treats other people. Back the hell off, and leave his friend alone. She deserves better. He says he wants her to do what it takes, lean on who she needs to lean on. Crawl, scream, do what she has to in order to get through, but get through. She deserves better.

Peter’s phone rings, and he says, Anna. If she’s looking for Finn, he just left. She says she was hoping to talk to him. Can he come by the house? He says, sure. He’s about to meet Maxie, but if it’s important… She says, it is. It’s important that they talk.

Maxie sees Britt at the club, and Britt says, fancy meting her there. This place is great. They have an impressive selection of mocktails. Does Maxie want to sit and have a baby-friendly drink? Maxie says, sure, before Peter gets here. It’s their last date night. Britt says she can’t wait, and Maxie says she’s been thinking about Britt. She was just talking to Nina. Her sister Georgie is gone, and Lulu is out of commission. She and Nina were remembering when they made that promise in Nathan’s memory, and it’s good to know that she has sisters looking out for her again.

Obrecht breaks into Maxie and Peter’s apartment. We see the envelope from D. Marick on the table with the mail.

Wilson says he wants to speak to both Carly and Jax. In the absence of hard evidence, and no witnesses, they have no reason to pursue the case. The case will remain closed. He thanks them for their cooperation, and Diane thanks him. She asks if he’d like to go brief the Commissioner together, and they leave. Carly says, thank God it’s over, and Jax says, the legal part. Nina isn’t happy. Carly says she doesn’t care, and she doesn’t feel bad. Jax says she has every right to be angry and upset, but he’s just saying, there’s going to be fallout.

There’s a knock at Nina’s office door. Willow and Michael come in with Wiley, and Michael says they were wondering if Nina was up for a visit. Wiley waves at her in all his cuteness.

Tomorrow, Olivia tells Alexis that she has five minutes, Anna thinks it’s time she and Peter face the truth, and Carly tells someone if they don’t play their cards right, it will be their last.

🤹‍♀️ A couple of random things. While I didn’t see The Real Housewives of Dallas, I did catch some of Marge and Delores (RHONJ) watching it. The highlight was a drunk shopping trip, where the women thought a charcuterie board was for spanking. Good thing they bought it, since they’d tested it out. Repeatedly. Ricki Lake and John Waters were virtual guests on Watch What Happens Live, and told a ton of good stories. They also pulled out some souvenirs from their Hairspray days, which proved one way being remote is good. People can run into the other room and find stuff to show us.

See you in Salt Lake tomorrow, when the Reunion wraps up, and it’s their last chance to rip more bandages off. Until then, stay safe, stay inquisitive, and stay deserving of whatever code name you choose.
