What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Sasha puts a single rose on Brando’s grave, and says, it’s finally over. Heather Webber will never hurt anyone again. Soon they will lock her up. She hopes Heather suffers. He’s too kind to wish that on anyone, but he’s not here, so she gets to wish for what she wants. Of course (🍷) the one thing she wishes, she can’t have. Everybody talks about moving on and living her life. Easier said. She starts to cry, and says she misses him.

Maxie meets Brook at Kelly’s, and Brook asks, how’s her mom? Maxie says, hanging in there. Ryan really put her mom and Mac through the wringer. Brook says, look on the bright side. Ryan is dead, and Heather is being put away until she rots. Good riddance to the lunatics. Maxie says she’s still reeling though. Heather’s last victim was Austin. Brook asks if Maxie’s talked to him, and Maxie says she left a message, but didn’t want to push. Brook says, it’s hard to know where to draw that line with an ex, and Maxie says, now they’re talking about Brook and Chase. Is she right?

Dante comes into the steam room to find Chase rubbing his shoulder. Dante says he told Chase to take it easy. What did that punching bag ever do to him anyway? Chase says he was overcompensating. He’s sick of being in limbo. He wants to be a cop again.

Gregory reads out loud to Alexis, when the sounds of choppers faded from the air above Spoon Island, one notorious criminal was dead, another was in custody, and their legacies were cemented with the birth of their grandson and the trail of devastation each left in their wake. She takes it he has notes, but he says, just one; masterful. Congratulations. She’s nabbed the scoop of the year.

As they approach Sam’s apartment, TJ asks if Molly is up to this, but she says she’s fine. It’s probably just a touch of the bug that’s going around. She hasn’t seen her sisters in ages, and there’s no way she’s missing this brunch. Um… I guess she misses them so much, she wants them sick too? They knock at the door, and Sam tells Kristina, they’re here. Kristina comes out with a cake that has one candle on it, and Sam opens the door. They yell, happy anniversary!🎉

At the MetroCourt restaurant, Diane tells Robert, it’s so lovely, and he says, it’s been a long time coming. He really owes her, and she says, for wasting her time in court with a case that should never have been brought to trial? He says he was thinking more of a moment they shall call the elevator incident, and she says she was only doing what anyone would do when they figured out a colleague had been drugged and swindled. He says, regardless, this is an expression of his gratitude, and she asks if that’s all this is. He says, she’s got him. There was something else he wanted to talk to her about today.

Laura thanks Eileen for meeting her at the hospital, and Eileen says, of course (🍷). Laura says she’s been given a task that feels impossible to her, and she realized that Eileen is the best person to help her with it.

TJ says now he understands why Sam insisted he escort her to this so-called sister’s brunch, and Kristina says, they know TJ and Molly celebrated their anniversary at Curtis and Portia’s wedding. Sam says, the first year of domestic partnership deserves a celebration, and Kristina says, they’re borrowing from birthday tradition, lighting the candle. Sam says, make a wish, and Kristina tells them, then blow out the candle. They do, and everyone laughs.

Alexis says, right place, right time, and Gregory says, thanks to the tip from Smoltz. She says, when he’s right, it reminds her that he’d actually be good at his job if he had integrity. He says, Smoltz may have given her information, but it was her deductive reasoning that unmasked The Hook, and she says, a major get. He says, one she should be proud of, but she says, the glory isn’t all hers. She couldn’t have done it without him.

Dante says he knows Chase hates not being on the force, and Chase says, especially after an operation like the one on Spoon Island. They caught The Hook. Ryan Chamberlain is dead, Esme Prince has been recaptured, and where was he? Dante says he missed out too, but Chase says, because he was in England with Sam working on another case. Dante says, they were tracking down Esme’s nanny. She told them that Ryan was Esme’s biological father. Chase says, see? Dante’s proven his point. It was good work. Dante says, work Chase can do too when he gets reinstated. Chase says, if he gets reinstated, but Dante says he has every reason to believe the Board will reinstate Chase. Will he have some faith? Chase says he’ll try, but in the meantime, there’s another bad guy he can take down.

Brook tells Maxie, soon enough she and Chase won’t have a professional relationship, and Chase will be free of her completely. Maxie asks if he fired Brook as his manager, and Brook says, music was never Chase’s dream; it was hers. He loves police work, and he’s probably going to be reinstated in the next few months. Maxie asks how she feels about that, and Brook says, it makes him happy, and she’s happy for him. Maxie asks how she really feels, but Brook says she’s actually happy for him. He deserves to follow his passion. Maxie says, so does Brook, and Brook says she is. Aside from the ones he already sold, Linc gave her back her catalog. She can shop those around, build her slate of artists… Maxie asks why she still doesn’t seem happy, and Brook says, because she still doesn’t get what she wants.

Eileen says, whatever Laura needs, she’s at her service, and Laura says, she looks tired. Is she sick? Eileen says she hasn’t been sleeping well. Her alarm clock must have a short; it’s been waking her up at all hours. On top of which, the heat stopped working. Laura suggests she stay somewhere else until she can sort out the heat and the wiring, but Eileen says, that won’t help with the nightmares, and Laura says, what? but Eileen says, it’s nothing. Laura tells her, Anna Devane’s body has been recovered… or what the French authorities believe are her remains. Eileen says, her condolences, and Laura gets all teary and thanks her. Eileen says she hopes this gives Laura and Anna’s loved ones the closure they need. When will the body arrive? Laura says, it’s already here. Anna’s body is down in the morgue, and she’s the one who’s supposed to… identify it. She breaks down in tears.

Alexis tells Gregory, spitballing, bouncing theories off each other, that’s what led to her eureka moment with Heather. After that, it was just a matter of confirming her hunch. He says he might have helped get the wheels turning, but this was all her, and she says, take the win. Come on. They’re good together. Why bust it all up? He says he’s sensing a return to a conversation they put to bed, and she says she doesn’t understand why PCU won’t let him work at The Invader. He says he told her; a conflict of interest. (BTW, I think he’s lying to her; I don’t think he even asked.) She says she’s researched six publications, and all of them have professors working in their editorial department. So why does PCU set a different standard for their faculty specifically? He asks why she can’t let this go.

Chase tells Dante that he’s going to stop Linc Brown and his career as a music manager. Maybe get him charged just for good measure. Dante suggests Chase remember Linc was one of the reasons he was suspended in the first place. He adds harassment to assault, he’s not getting back on the force. Chase says, Brown gets handsy with his clients – he means, really handsy. He’s abusive, controlling, and manipulative, and that’s all they know about. There’s probably so much more. Dante says he knew the guy was a sleaze, but didn’t know he was doing that. That’s no good and he needs to be stopped. Why doesn’t he have a chat with Linc? Chase says, that won’t do any good, and Dante asks how working for him is going to change his behavior. Chase says, proximity gives him opportunity. Sooner or later, he’s going to slip up in a way that’s verifiable. Dante says, when he does, Chase better be far, far away from him.

Brook tells Maxie that she and Chase are over. He made that abundantly clear. In fact, she thinks he’s moved on. Maxie says, Chase is interested in someone else? Who? Brook says, Sasha, startling me, since I expected her to say Blaze. She’s not sure sure, but they’ve been spending a lot of time together lately. Maxie says, well, they’re friends, and she’s sure they’re just being supportive, and Brook says, how sure? grabbing Maxie’s hand. Maxie says, 98% sure, prying Brook’s hand off hers. She says, Brook needs to talk to Sasha, and Brook says, why? Whatever’s going on between them is none of her business. She and Chase are over. She doesn’t have him, but she does have her music back. Maxie says, she doesn’t seem that pleased, and Brook says, it came with strings. She had to sign a non-disclosure agreement. One of her main goals when she started was to nail Linc to the wall for sexual harassment, coercion, and all of the other sleazy stuff he does. Maxie says, and she persuaded Chase to help her? and Brook says she did, and he was totally into it. So when he finds out she signed an NDA and can no longer speak publicly about what Linc did to her, he could think she prioritized her career over doing what’s right. Maxie says she doesn’t think the NDA is going to be Brook’s problem. She should talk to a lawyer, but Brook needs to look into the Speak Out Act. An NDA can prevent you from talking about work product, like intellectual property… Brook says, lyrics, contracts, deals, and Maxi says, exactly, but a contract that restricts your talking about how you’ve been treated, misconduct in the workplace, or sexual harassment, those can’t be enforced anymore. Brook should look into it. Brook says she will, but that still doesn’t change what she did, and Maxie says, Chase is understanding. She’s sure he’ll forgive her. Sasha is suddenly there, and asks what Chase has to forgive Brook for. Um… none of your business?

Diane asks how offended she should be that the pleasure of her company wasn’t enough for her and Robert to meet, but he says, the pleasure of her company is reward enough, and she says, stop. He says he wanted to bring her up to speed on some recent events, and she says, he means Heather Webber being identified as the person who stabbed her with a hook. He says, she’s confessed, which means they’re removed from having to go through a trial, and Diane says, which means she doesn’t have to testify. She wasn’t looking forward to reliving that. She puts her clients on the stand every day, but it’s different… He says, when you’re the one being attacked. He gets it. She says, of course (🍷) he would. He was the victim of an attack recently.

Eileen says, shouldn’t one of Miss Devane’s relatives make the identification? but Laura says, her daughter lives all the way across the country. Eileen says, what about DA Scorpio? They were married. Laura says, they were, but the French authorities have made it clear that… the body… there’s been some decomposition. She’s sure Eileen understands why she wouldn’t want to expose one of Anna’s loved ones to a visual like that unless it was absolutely necessary. Eileen says, of course (🍷), and Laura says, unfortunately, it’s her job as city official to assist the gendarmerie, but she’s been here for hours, and she just can’t do it. Eileen says, Laura needs support, and Laura says she needs Eileen to do it.

Chase says he knows Dante isn’t telling him to look the other way while Linc manhandles his female clients, and Dante says, no, but he is telling Chase to maybe report him. He knows it’s difficult, but maybe Chase could convince some of these women to come forward. Chase says, Dante knows as well as he does, these types of allegations are hard to prove. Either everyone comes forward or no one does. Dante says he gets direct involvement, but for Chase, it’s a bad idea, and Chase says, why? These women endure this because they think if they don’t, Linc will end their music career. He doesn’t care if his music career ends; he can’t wait. He’s the perfect person to take Linc down. Dante says, Chase takes Linc down, Linc is liable to take Chase own with him. Then what happens? The CCRB gets wind of his little one-man operation, and there go his chances of reinstatement. Chase says he knows there are risks, but he doesn’t feel right leaving these women in Linc’s orbit to do this alone. Dante says, nor should he, but to be clear, are they talking women plural, or one woman in particular?

Sasha asks if everything is okay with Brook and Chase, and Brook says, nothing major; just music business stuff. Maxie stares at Brook, and Sasha sits down, saying, she admires Brook. She’s juggling two careers. Sasha crumbled under the pressure of just one. Maxie says, Sasha didn’t. What she went through wasn’t a reflection of her capabilities or professionalism. Don’t sell herself short. Maxie tells them that she left her phone in her coat pocket; talk amongst themselves. She stands behind Sasha and eavesdrops, as Sasha says she thinks it’s incredible what Brook has done with Chase’s music career. Is she taking on other clients? Brook says, actually, she thinks it’s time to explore new horizons.

Alexis asks why Gregory is willing to let this go, and he says he knows his limits. She says, the only limits he has are the ones PCU has shackled him with. He should just quit. He says, she finds journalism gratifying? and she says, certainly more than she thought. He says, when she was practicing law, if someone had told her to quit and run The Invader, or just be on the staff… She says she’d refuse, and he says, being an attorney was her first love, was it not? She admits it was, and says, and teaching is his. He says, this may sound flowery or pretentious, but he feels the knowledge he’s imparted is his bequest to a better world. If anyone should understand how hard it is to give up a career you’ve poured your heart and soul into… She says she gets it, and he says, besides, just because he’s not officially working here doesn’t mean they can’t continue to collaborate. She said herself, why bust up a good thing? He’s thinking, there must be a way to build on the momentum of this story, and his ideas are hers, free of charge.

Kristina asks, who’s ready for a toast? and Sam asks for sparkling water. She thinks she got a bit of food poisoning in England. TJ says, sparkling water for him too; he’s due at work. Kristina says, they’re both squares. Molly won’t let her drink alone, will she? Molly says, maybe just a small glass, and TJ says, his dad called to wish them a happy anniversary. Sam asks how Shawn is, and TJ says, great, and not at all surprised Alexis cracked The Hook case. Kristina hopes Heather’s capture brings Gladys and Sasha some peace, and Sam says, that’s why it’s so important for them to celebrate these milestones. To the people we love, and all of the milestones. Kristina says, to TJ and Molly, and they clink glasses.

Eileen says, Laura wants her to identify Anna Devane’s remains? and Laura says, there aren’t many people she could trust with this. Eileen says, forgive her, but she doesn’t have the impression Laura trusts her. Laura rarely calls on her for assistance, and Laura’s often dismissive of her efforts. Laura admits she was short with Eileen when Eileen talked with Warden Brewster about the Spring Ridge escapes. Eileen says, it wasn’t the first time Laura kept her out of the loop, and it was important she stay informed. Laura says, being informed isn’t necessarily being involved. Okay, she admits it. She’s been keeping Eileen at arm’s length. Eileen asks, why? and as they walk down the hallway, Laura says she owes Eileen an apology. She let her personal sensibilities cloud her judgement. They don’t have to be adversaries. Eileen is a strong administrator, and will be a great successor when Laura decides not to seek reelection, but she needs to know she can count on Eileen when it matters. Eileen says, understood. She’ll go to the morgue and make the identification. Laura presses the elevator button, and says she can’t tell Eileen how grateful she is for her stepping up in this way. It’s something she’ll never forget. Eileen gets in the elevator, the doors close, and Laura gets out her phone. She says, she’s on her way.

Diane apologizes for bringing up a sore subject, but Robert says, it’s public knowledge. Holly played him; he fell for it. Diane says she’s assuming Holly is still recovering from her burns in Europe, and he says, Holly has some challenges ahead of her. Regardless of what’s happened, he wishes her well. Diane says she may not know Holly well, but she knows this second chance meant a lot to him. She’s sorry. He asks, why? and she says, because he is. Deep as first love, and wild with all regret. He says, o death in life, the days that are no more, and she says, to Tennyson. They clink coffee cups, and she says, she was hoping Tennyson was getting him through during that time, and he says, not just Tennyson.

Sasha says she hopes Brook finds the perfect singer for every song, and make superstars out of all of them, and Brook says, that’s the dream. Sasha says, it’s hard to make many moves under this guardianship, but she’s starting to think about her future, and Brook asks if there’s anyone else in that future. Maxie jets back to her seat, babbling that her phone was in her purse the whole time, and Sasha wonders if Brook is asking her something specific. Maxie asks what she missed.

Dante says, Chase and Brook teamed up to take down Linc. Is Chase worried about his feelings for Brook coming back? Chase says, maybe they will, maybe they won’t. Either way, it’s worth it to see this through. Does Dante remember how aimless he felt when he was first suspended? For a guy who’s wanted to be a cop longer than he can remember, it didn’t feel good to lose his purpose. Dante asks, what about singing? but Chase says, that’s a paycheck, not a purpose. He wants to help people and if he can’t do it as a cop, he’ll do it this way.

Gregory says, Doc would add a good point of view to a think piece, and Alexis says, Doc is not only Ryan’s brother, he’s his twin, and his victim. Gregory says, to share your exact DNA with someone who’s both you physiological and moral opposite? It’s a great angle. She says she likes it, and he asks if Doc would be willing to talk about it. She says, there’s only one way to find out. She’d also like to interview Esme, even though she’s got some problems of her own right now. Gregory says he forgot. Congratulations are in order; Alexis is an aunt again. She says, that’s mean. She knows Nikolas is having another son, but she doesn’t know where he is. Gregory gets up, and says, it’s a good thing she’s good at solving mysteries, and she says, about the job. He says, just when they were having such a nice chat, and she says, humor her. If PCU hadn’t gotten in the way of taking the job, would he have accepted it? He says, he would have liked nothing more, and leaves.

TJ thanks Sam and Kristina for this very thoughtful surprise. Growing up, he never knew what he was missing, but through Molly, he has sisters. He thanks them for always making him feel like family, and Sam says, he is family. Kristina says, he’s trapped and there’s no escape, but it’s only because they love him. He says he loves them too, and Molly walks him to the door. He says he’ll see her tonight, and leaves. She goes back inside, and says, as they know, TJ is traditional and she’s not, but she appreciates them celebrating the commitment she and TJ made. Sam says, love should always be celebrated, and Molly says, right back at her and Dante. Kristina says, her sisters are happily in love. It almost gives a girl a complex. Sam says, when Kristina meets someone – and she will – they won’t know what hit them. Kristina says, because she’s a wrecking ball, but Sam says, she’s fantastic and smart and beautiful, and Molly says, face it, they’re magnificent. They deserve only the best, and that includes Kristina. Only good things for the Davis girls.

Robert says he’s grateful to have friends, old and new, and Diane says he’d better be calling her new. Alexis approaches the table, and says, if it isn’t her two favorite members of her former profession. Can she join them? Diane asks if it matters, and Robert says he has another appointment. My how time flies. Diane thanks him for breakfast, Alexis takes his seat, and he leaves. Alexis asks if it was business or discovery, and Diane says, it was breakfast. She thanks Alexis for alerting her before the identity of The Hook went to print, and Alexis says, it’s the least she could do. How is Diane feeling? Diane says, like she no longer has any excuses not to go out and live her life, and take a breath. And Alexis? Is she deciding what shelf to dust off for her Pulitzer? Alexis says, that’s a bit of a stretch, but Diane says, she’s on her way. Alexis says she’d be more on her way if PCU weren’t being obstructionist. The school’s administration won’t allow Gregory to join the editorial board. Conflict of interest. Diane asks, how? and Alexis says, exactly. Diane asks what Gregory has to say about this, and Alexis says, nothing. He doesn’t want to give up teaching, so he’s accepting it. Diane says she’s guessing Alexis isn’t, and Alexis says, no. Diane knows how she is.

TJ sees Laura, and says he didn’t get a chance to thank her for stepping in to officiate at his uncle’s wedding. She was incredible. She thanks him, and says, it was her honor. How’s his Aunt Stella doing? He says, on the mend. He asks what brings her by GH, and she says, closure.

Gregory asks the reception nurse to direct him to exam room 3, and she says she remembers him; he’s Dr. Finn’s dad. He says he hadn’t realized he was famous, when TJ comes by and says hello. Gregory says he’s looking for exam room 3, and TJ says he can show Gregory. Don’t tell him Gregory has caught this bug making the rounds. Gregory says, if only.

Eileen goes into the morgue. It’s empty, and she looks at the instruments on the table and shudders. She flashes back to hearing Anna say, you’re next, Eileen. You’re next. The attendant comes in, and she jumps a mile. He says he didn’t mean to startle her. Is she Deputy Mayor Ashby? She says, yes, and he says, he’s Moe (or maybe Mel); he’s been expecting her. He holds out his hand, but she doesn’t take it. She says she’s sorry; she’s just a little jumpy. He says, they get that a lot down here. Mayor Collins said she’d be identifying the Jane Doe from France. She says, that’s why she’s here, and he slides out a drawer holding a body in a body bag. He says he has to step out for a minute. Why doesn’t she take a look, and he’ll be back with the form she has to sign. He leaves, and I don’t think that’s how any of this works.

Dante says, it sounds like Chase is going to go after Linc no matter what, and Chase says, yeah. Dante says, promise if he gets into any trouble, Chase will call him, and Chase thanks him. He suggests Chase get his bum shoulder checked out, but Chase says, Dante knows how he feels about hospitals. Dante says, speaking of hospitals, he heard Willow was released, and Chase asks if that means she’s doing better. Dante says he doesn’t know, and suggests Chase stop by and see her. Chase says he has to meet little Amelia, and Dante says, his mother has fierce baby fever right now. She keeps hinting, and trying to find out if he and Sam are having kids. Chase asks if he wants them, but Dante says, they haven’t discussed it. I’m thinking either Sam, Molly, or both are pregnant.

Sam says she notices Molly switched to the sparkling water. Is everything okay? Molly says she just feels under the weather, and Kristina says she already opened the bottle. It’s a sin to let it go flat. Molly says she doesn’t want any more, but she could use something sweet. Is there any dessert? Didn’t they just have cake? Sam says, in the bag over there, and Kristina goes to get it. Molly says she wants to hear all about finding Esme’s nanny, and Sam says, it was insane. It was beautiful and rural, and they found her in this little place in Devon. She tells Molly about the crazy driving, when Kristina takes a pregnancy test out of the bag. Molly excuses herself, and Sam asks what’s taking Kristina so long. Kristina puts the test behind her back, and Sam says, she had one job. Kristina asks if there’s something Sam wants to tell her, and shows her the test. Dante comes in, and Kristina turns around, putting the test behind her back again. He asks if it’s over.

Diane says, do not meddle, and Alexis says she’s not meddling. She’s doing Gregory a favor. Diane wonders if he asked for this favor, and Alexis says, no. Diane says, then don’t do it, but Alexis says, he wants this job. Diane should have seen him. He just doesn’t want to give up teaching. Diane says, the professor is a big boy. If he wants it so badly, he’ll find a way to get it – on his own. Alexis says, not necessarily. He’s a cerebral guy. He doesn’t like to make waves. She does. She’s action oriented. Diane says, that’s Latin for meddling, and Alexis says, he wants the job, and she’s going to do something about it.

Brook says, sorry to bolt, but she has a full day, and Maxie says, stay. Sasha says, there’s been this really weird tension between them these last few weeks, but Brook says, no. Sasha says she’s sober, she’s calm, she thinks she’s rational. So she’ll be really disappointed if Brook tells her that she’s imagining this. Brook says, she brought out the big guns right away, and Sasha says, something has clearly changed between them, and she thinks it has to do with Chase.

TJ asks what Gregory means by if only, and Gregory says, nothing. It’s just a wonder he hasn’t picked it up from one of his students. Chase comes in, and Gregory asks if he’s there to see his brother, but Chase says, Finn’s off this morning. He tweaked a muscle in his shoulder, and he’s getting it checked out. What is Gregory doing here?

Robert sees Laura, and asks if Ashby went for the bait. She says, hook, line, and sinker, and he says, well done. She says, now let’s just hope it all goes according to plan.

Eileen hesitates, then remembers Laura saying how grateful she is, and it’s something she’ll never forget. She slowly goes over to the drawer, and zips open the bag enough to reveal Anna’s beat up, bluish face. The lights flicker, then go out, and Eileen says, hello? Is Moe (or Mel) there? The lights went out. Hello? The lights come back on, and she sees a ghostly Anna standing in front of her. She looks back at the table, where Anna’s body is still lying, and says, this isn’t real. This isn’t real. Anna floats toward her, looking like a demon.

Tomorrow, Chase asks if there’s a reason Gregory won’t tell him why he’s at the hospital; Kristina says she just found out Dante and Sam have been holding out on her; Laura says, Victor has no one to blame but himself; and Eileen says, please. I’ll do anything.

Good for him. I thought he did a wonderful job on GH, and certainly better than the Most Extras’ first song on Vanderpump Rules last night.

Isn’t she gone yet? Please, take Kyle with you.

Well, we agree on LisaR’s exit, but no Housewife is bigger than the franchise? I present Queen LVP. She’s still got it going on elsewhere, and the show began its slippery slope downhill after her departure.

I’m ambivalent to Kelly – although she does let fly some amusing bon mots – but I agree Tamra is fake. The worst thing was when she decided to become a Christian, made a big production out of it, then never gave a Christian hoot again. I cringe just thinking of it. What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Chase lounges in a floatie donut in the pool. Dante comes by and says, this reminds him of a movie he saw once. Disillusioned guy spends the summer floating around in a pool so he can avoid his future. Chase says, The Graduate. It’s a good movie. The key difference is though, the main character had Simon and Garfunkel singing his confusion. Dante says, right, and Chase says, and didn’t have to pay for his pool chaise. Dante says, that’s true too. Don’t kid himself though. That guy was a lot younger than him. Chase says, thank you. Did Dante talk to his guy at the CCRB? Dante says, yeah, and Chase says, and? Is there a chance he’s getting back on the force? Dante says he’s sorry. He wishes he had better news to report.

Lucy comes into the Deception office, and tells Brook and Maxie that she’s sorry to keep them waiting. She was on the phone with Paris again and again, and she appreciates them coming to this meeting at such short notice. Maxie says she’s supposed to meet Britt for brunch, but if this is about what she thinks it’s about, Britt will forgive her. Lucy says, yeah, Sasha, and Brook says, it’s all over the news. It’s blowing up their social media. They need to release a statement. Lucy says, exactly, and Maxie says, one that protects Sasha’s privacy. Lucy says, that is a given, but they also have to consider Deception’s image and protect their company. Maxie says, more important, they help their friend, but Lucy says she’s not sure they can do both.

Martin gives Sasha some coffee, and says, it’s not Perks, but why doesn’t she try to drink it anyway; be as sharp as she can. She just stares ahead, and he says, Sasha? If she doesn’t have anything more to say, he guesses he’ll see what time transport is set for her arraignment. Outside in the squad room, Gladys arrives, and Brando hugs her. She says she brought Sasha fresh clothes. He looks like he hasn’t slept a wink. Where’s Sasha? He points to the interrogation room, and says, she’s int there conferring with her lawyer Martin Grey. She says, excellent. He’s Valentin Cassadine’s attorney; he’s high-powered. He’ll help their girl for sure. Martin comes out, and Brando asks, how’s Sasha? Martin says, she’s just great. Why shouldn’t she be? She’s only facing charges of reckless endangerment, disturbing the peace, willful destruction of property – both public and private – and oh yeah, attempted murder.

Gregory meets Alexis at some outside tables, and she says, he’s early. He says, only by a few minutes. He’s eager to hear the feedback on the op ed he wrote. She says, and so he shall. She promised to be honest. He tells her not to keep him in suspense. Who came out on top of their little wager? She says, you tell me, and hands him her tablet.

At the MetroCourt Gardens, Sam thanks Spinelli for meeting her. He says, of course (🍷). He’s always at her service. Cody walks in, and Spinelli says, unlike others, she’s entirely worthy of his time and efforts.

Cody sees Britt, and says, hello again. He sits next to her, and she says, and goodbye again, getting up. He says, come on. Don’t be like that. She doesn’t have to take off. She says, sorry. She has to go. He says, what? She needs something plugged in again? She needs to wash her hair? He knows she doesn’t need to see a guy about a horse because he’s that guy. She says, he’s right. She doesn’t need to make excuses. The simple truth is, she just doesn’t like him.

Chase says, so the Review Board is going to rule against him? and Dante says he doesn’t know about that. All he knows is, his guy on the inside, when he asked if Chase would get his badge back, he said the chances were slim. Chase asks if there’s anything he can do to derail this, and Dante says, the new member appointed by the public advocate is making a point of throwing the book at cops who step out of line, regardless of their exemplary record. Chase says, so that’s it, he’s no longer a cop, but Dante says, take it from him, you’re still a cop until you actually hand your badge in for good. There’s always hope until that happens. Chase says, hope doesn’t pay his late rent, and Dante says he’ll spot Chase rent money. Chase says he appreciates that, but he got himself into this, and he’ll get himself out. Dante says, even if it means taking a job outside the force? when Linc appears, and says, then it’s a good thing Chase has other options.

Brook scrolls on her tablet, and says, the comments are so rude. Poor Sasha. Maxie says, she kept insisting she was okay, but in retrospect, it’s clear she wasn’t. Lucy says, these media hounds are baying for blood. They’ve got to simply reset the narrative. They need to engender empathy for Sasha that maintains her position here, and hopefully placates the Board of Directors. Maxie says, they need to come up with a strategy that shields Deception from liability, while not abandoning one of their partners. Brook says, right. Where do they start? Maxie says, let’s get the ball rolling, and asks if Brook would mind taking notes. Brook says, of course (🍷) not, and Maxie says, Deception’s press release subject: Deception’s commitment on supporting health and mental well-being.

Gladys brings a garment bag in to Sasha, and asks how she’s holding up.

Alexis tells Gregory, this one says, Professor Chase’s opinion piece seems like a complaint in search of a cause, and he says, but if you scroll up, you’ll see Cronkite’s Ghost – he laughs – says his op-ed piece eloquently illuminates the necessity of objectivity. She laughs, and says, Cronkite’s Ghost. They say a handle says a lot about a person. She’s getting pompous blowhard. He asks if she’s ascribing that characterization to him, but she says, no, of course (🍷) not. Here’s one. Newshound86 thinks his op-ed piece is a dumpster fire. He says, how constructive… and poetic, and she says, this one just wants her to put the horoscopes back in. He says, he’d argue that astrology is subjective, so he marks that one in his favor. She says, by a slim margin, it appears the readers approve of his point-of-view. Cue the gloating. He says, him gloat? No. It’s enough he’s feeling validated that his so-called antiquated notions have merit. Thanks for following up. She says, a deal’s a deal, and he says, speaking of which, their deal was, if he won, she’d take more of his input on board. She wonders why the hairs on the back of her neck on end. Cue the smirk. He smiles.

Cody says, Britt hasn’t been shy about her disapproval, and she says, and yet, here he is. Haven’t they played this scene before? He says, yes, we have, but we keep screwing up the finale, and she asks what he means by we. He says, he can admit that he doesn’t always say the right things, and she asks if he expects her to say something to the contrary, but he says, no. He was just giving her the chance to admit that she’s unforgiving when it comes to human frailty. He takes a sip of his drink, and says he’ll wait. She says, by all means, help yourself.

Sam tells Spinelli that she thinks she hit a brick wall, but he’s busy staring at Britt and Cody. She says, then Felicia made a great suggestion to her. She said, think analog. He says, interesting, and she says, the documentation she needs is abroad. Is he available for a quick trip? He asks, where? and she says she was thinking Mars. She hears the planet is notorious for sloppy record keeping. He says, that’s just common knowledge, and she says, he’s not even listening to a word she’s saying, but he says, he is. Analog records… messy… Mars? She tells him, she said Mars, and the word she used is sloppy. What’s messy is him eavesdropping on Britt and Cody’s conversation. She wants him to tell her why, and no lame excuse or denial, because she’s not buying it.

Sasha comes out, and Brando her. He says he’s not going anywhere, and Gladys leads her away. Martin says he’s glad Brando’s mother brought fresh clothes; she needs to be as presentable as possible. Brando says, clothes aren’t going to do anything. Her eyes are vacant and she doesn’t look good. They need to get her out of here. Tell him, how are they going to beat these charges? Martin says, they can’t.

Cody tells Britt to look at it from his point-of-view. She tore into him about falling into the pool at the mixer. He was hired to jump, and she was standing smackdab in the middle of it. She helped him in the alley when he got beat up, but then she assumed he deserved it. He did not. Then she drenched him on their date because he went a little overboard trying to impress her. And she woudn’t even accept his apology. Then when she finally did accept his apology, she found some trivial reason to get angry at him again. It’s like she wants him to fail. He guesses if people don’t live up to her ridiculously high expectations she’s set for them, she gets to feel justified punishing them. She says, he’s right. He’s got her number. He says, he does?

Sam says, Spinelli is on good terms with Britt, so his beef must be with Cody. Why? He says, Mr. Bell is a scoundrel of ill-repute, and she asks if he realizes Cody and Dante are best friends from childhood. Leo loves the guy, as do the horses. He seems like a nice guy. What’s Spinelli’s issue with him? Spinelli says, he’s a man of many faces, and she says, meaning? He says he can read people well. Remember, he never liked Peter August. She says, nobody liked Peter August. Why doesn’t he save his incredible reading skills for the documentation they’ll be hunting down on their trip? She’d like to leave by the end of the week. He says he’s completely at her disposal stateside, but he’s too occupied with work to cross the International Dateline. She says, work. She’s so glad he brought that up. What is it he does these days?

Dante says he wasn’t talking to Linc. What does he want? Linc says, nothing to do with Dante. He has business with Dante’s friend here. Dante says, Chase is still a cop, so Chase is his partner, and Chase asks Dante to give them a second. Dante asks if Chase is kidding. This guy might be the reason he gets kicked off the force. What business could Chase possibly have with him? Linc says, standing right here, and Dante says, go stand over there. Chase tells Dante, he knows what he’s doing, and Dante says, all right. Just don’t let this punk bait him. He leaves, and Linc says, Chase gave him 30 days to show him what he can do. It hasn’t even been a week, and he’s booked Chase a gig at The Savoy. What has Brook done for him lately?

Maxie asks Brook to read that last part back, and Brook reads, together we pledge to stand up for the Deception family by breaking the stigma of mental health challenges, ensuring their partners and their families receive all the help they need. Therefore, Deception will make a one million dollar donation to help families with mental illness. Maxie says, sounds good. Just change the Deception family to our Deception family, and she thinks that’s their press release. Brook agrees, and says, Sasha’s arrest was definitely a cry for help. Hopefully, framing it this way will inspire compassion. Haters be damned. She’s going to make this change, email it to herself, and take it to PR. Maxie asks her to have legal put their eyes on it first. Then tell them to work with PR. She wants it posted on all their social media platforms as soon as possible. Brook says, she’ll make it happen, and leaves. Maxie asks if Lucy didn’t have anything she wanted to add, but Lucy says, no. Actually, everything Maxie and Brook said is fine. Lucy scarfs gummi bears as they talk, and Maxie says, she’s glad Martin is representing Sasha; he’s one of the best. And she’s not just saying that because… you know. Lucy says, my guy knows his stuff, and it’s good for Sasha’s sake, and for ours. Maxie says, ours? and Lucy says, it’s just that Martin sees the big picture, and understands how important it is to protect all of Sasha’s interests, which includes Deception. Which means they have some tough decisions to make. Maxie says, how tough? and Lucy says, Maxie’s not going to like what she has to say.

Martin tells Brando, he had a call into the DA’s office, and his contact just got back to him. Martin wanted to run something by him. Brando says, something about Sasha? and Martin says, Brando’s got to understand some things. Brando says, sounds serious, and Martin says, in the first place, he’s sorry he rattled off those charges at Brando like that. He wasn’t trying to be flippant. He’s a little punchy in the morning when he hasn’t slept, but he swears he’s taking this case seriously. He wants Brando to know, he’s looking at every possibility to help his wife; all of them. Brando thanks him, and asks if Martin was being punchy when he said they couldn’t beat some of these charges. Martin says, some of the charges he believe can be thrown out, or restitution can be made, but on some of the others, no way. They have to contend with a very damning video; a video where Sasha isn’t just out of control, she looks outright violent. All those assault charges are going to be tough to beat. Brando says, but he’ll try, right? They’ll do whatever he wants them to do. Martin says he believes Brando will, but can the same thing be said of his wife?

Gladys wipes Sasha’s face, and Sasha pulls away. Gladys says, Sasha is still a little smudged. She’s just trying help. Sasha says, thanks, but nobody can help, and Gladys says, that’s not true. Sasha has a whole army behind her. Maxie’s been blowing up Gladys’s phone; she just hasn’t had a chance to get back to her. She’s sure Maxie and Lucy want to visit Sasha, but Sasha says she’s not. Not after what she did. Gladys asks why she did it, and Sasha says, she was standing up for herself, and she would do it again.

Gregory says, he heard Sasha Gilmore recently attacked the vehicle of one of Alexis’s reporters, and she says, Smoltz (who apparently has no first name) is a freelancer. He says, whatever Smoltz’s role at The Invader, he’s surprised there’s been no mention of it in her paper. Why is that? She says, because the story is still evolving, and they’ll cover it when they know more. Unless of course (🍷) he’d like her to report the salacious account of a spokesmodel having a nervous breakdown. He says, that’s a narrow way of looking at it, and she says, and his way? He says, the facts. A reporter – one affiliated with her paper – was attacked while doing his job.

Lucy says, maybe they should consider finding a new Face of Deception, and Maxie asks if she’s talking about pushing Sasha out, but Lucy says, no, absolutely not. Sasha is their partner, and always will be. She’s just thinking maybe Sasha should step aside as spokesperson, just for a while. Take a sabbatical or something. Maxie says, after everything Sasha has lost, Lucy wants to strip her of more, and Lucy says, it’s hard to say and hard to hear, but look at everything they’ve built; look at all this company means. All the money, everything, is tied up in its stock value. And if it goes belly-up, it’s Brokesville again; they’ll have nothing. She knows Sasha wouldn’t want that. Does Maxie? Sasha is their friend, always; this is just business. Maxie says, okay. Then as the head of this business, Lucy can tell her, and she walks out.

Gladys says, can’t the court just ask Sasha to pay for the damage to that reporter’s car? She’s good for it. Sasha says, Smoltz deserved it; so did Sienna. Pretending to be Sasha’s friend, when all along, Sienna wanted to ply her with more drugs so she could stab her in the back. She’s so sick of them. She’s tired of being exploited. Gladys says, of course (🍷) she is, but isn’t she also tired of feeling out of control?

Martin tells Brando, he doesn’t know what the hell’s going on or why, but they simply don’t have time to figure it out. For some reason, Brando’s wife has completely shut down. Every answer she gave him was model celeb, if she answered him at all. Brando says, Sasha’s in shock. Spending the night in jail didn’t help at all. Martin says, he’ll definitely ask the court to take that into consideration, but that’s not the only issue at play here, is it? He was up most of the night going over the evidence in this case, trying to wrap his head recent events, and he doesn’t have to tell Brando, it doesn’t look good. Sasha has blown up her sobriety, she’s spun out on national television… She caused a fatal car accident... Brando says, she didn’t cause that; Harmony ran out in front of her. Martin says, so what? His point is, with Sasha these days, it’s one thing after another. This is just something else in a long line of bad looks. Now, worst of all, she’s either in denial or she’s intentionally avoiding the help she so desperately needs.

Britt tells Cody, she is too hard on people; she always has been. He asks if she thinks she misses out on getting to know folks, and she says, probably. He says, it’s kind of worse that they end up missing out on knowing her, and she says, okay, this is sliding into the sappy zone. What he doesn’t understand is, she doesn’t really like people all that much, so it’s no great loss. He says he’s see how she and her buddy Brad get on, when she’s not scolding him, and she says, that weirdo? He says, besides, what’s a little sap between friends? Nothing wrong with that. Not to be presumptuous, but he has a sappy present for her. He knows they’re not friends or anything like that, but consider him a weirdo. He takes an envelope out of his pocket, and puts it on the table. He says, it’s just a little token to prove he’s not some conniving grifter, and she says, he just happened to be carrying it in case he bumped into her? Not conniving, eh? How did he know where to find her?

Spinelli assures Sam, his work is of the greatest importance. Not as important as hers of course (🍷). He has contacts all over the world who can be at her disposal. In fact, he’ll connect her with someone who can help aid in her investigation. She says, nice try. She’s not done interrogating him yet. He says, she’s an astute sleuth. Can’t she detect a dead end when she sees one? Speaking of sleuths, how are things with Detective Falconari? She says, well, he asked her to move in with him. Spinelli says, congratulations. Glad tidings… are they not?

Chase tells Linc, that’s great about The Savoy, but he’s sure Brook has some irons in the fire. Linc says, while she’s flailing around, he’s crushing it. How does a gig at The Mercury Lounge sound? Chase says, in New York City? Out of his league. That place is for the big acts. Linc says, it is, and it will be for Chase before he knows it, with Linc managing his career. It’s hard to have a serious conversation with a floatie between them. Chase gets out of the pool, and Linc hands him a towel. He says, it’s good to see Chase’s unemployment paid off with more gym time. When he’s through marketing Chase, their key demo is either going to want to be him, or want to be with him. Brook walks in, and says, Chase isn’t just a piece of meat; he’s an artist – a talented, beautiful artist. Chase gets dressed, and Brook says, he’s got talent, and smarts, and heart. Linc says, sure. He’s the total package, but he assures her, Chase’s fans will be more interested in his eyes than his IQ. His development department has put together a promotional plan for Chase. He’s also booked studio time for them to start laying down tracks with top writers and producers. After the gig at The Savoy, then they’ll focus on The Mercury Lounge. At both gigs, the concert goers will be able to stream and share his EP. They’ll be able to sell a ton of merch at The Mercury Lounge. Either way, it’s instant revenue for Chase. Chase says he could actually use the money, and Brook asks, how much is this studio time? What are they talking here? Chase says, it does sound expensive, and Linc says, you bet it is, but not for Chase; it’s part of the package. Like his styling, his wardrobe, and his voice lessons. Can Brook offer him the same? Dante watches them, and Brook says, no, but she can offer him something even better.

Britt asks if Cody is having her followed; paying people to let him know if she shows up here? He says, Maxie told him… Well, she mentioned something about brunch plans, and he took a chance. She says, it’s still invasive, and he says he hears her, but it’s still better than showing up at her hotel room or her office. He didn’t have any other options. Is she going to open it or what? She holds the envelope to her ear, and says, it’s not ticking. He says, no need. He’s blown up enough chances with her. She opens the passport and starts to read, and he says, she’s a hard woman to make arts and crafts for. He’ll totally understand if she hates it. She says she doesn’t hate it, and he says, does she think maybe they could add another stamp? Any night she’s available. She asks if there’s any way he’ll take no for an answer, and he says, statistically? Probably the same chances as her refraining from sarcasm. She says she calls the meal this time, and he says, deal.

Sam tells Spinelli, there’s so much to consider. She’s not sure about moving. She doesn’t want to uproot Scout and Danny; the penthouse is their home. He says, home is wherever she is. Doesn’t she want to live with Dante? She says she thinks things are really good the way they are. Why change it? He asks if there’s any other reason she’s hesitant to do this, when Maxie walks in, and says, hey guys. She’s having a morning. Is she interrupting if she sits? Sam says, not at all, and Spinelli says, have a seat. Britt says she never would have figured Cody for being the arts and crafts type, and Maxie says, it looks like Britt and Cody are getting along. She guesses she doesn’t have to apologize to Britt for missing their brunch. Looks like she gave true love an assist. Spinelli asks why she’s so certain Cody is right for Britt, and she says, because she trusts Society Set-Ups. And she’s spent some time with him; he’s a sweet guy. Sam says she happens to agree, but Spinelli says, they both couldn’t be more wrong, and storms out.

Alexis says, not everyone sees things through the lens of a journalism professor, and Gregory says, he’s also a citizen. It concerns him whenever freedom of the press is constrained by threats or violence. She says, she agrees, but he doesn’t know Smoltz. His tactics are less than savory, and she wouldn’t put it past him if he goaded Sasha into a reaction, hoping to provoke just what he got. So if she were him, she wouldn’t hang out the shingle of the First Amendment rights on this one. He says he’d like to invite her to one of his PCU lectures, and she says, he’s lecturing? He says, PCU wooed him out of retirement; convinced him to teach a course. He thinks she’d get a lot out of it. She says, really? She’s argued First Amendment rights in a court of law a lot more than he’s ever lectured about it in a classroom. He says, then she undoubtedly knows, the character of the victim doesn’t preclude the reporting of the crime. Mr. Smoltz may not be the kind of reporter she respects, but he was the target of violence, which makes it at least worthy of her attention, and in his learned opinion, most definitely newsworthy.

Sasha says, Gladys thinks she’s out of control? and Gladys says, doesn’t she? Lately, she’s not the Sasha that Gladys has come to know and love. Sasha says, love. Gladys didn’t even want her to marry her son. Gladys says, she didn’t. Not then. Not at the time, for a few reasons. It seemed like they were rushing, for one thing, and she didn’t like being excluded. But once she saw how much Sasha really loved Brando, and how happy she makes him, and how kind and smart she is, she’s been proud to call Sasha her daughter-in-law. And she’s done what she could to protect Sasha. She thought Sasha knew that.

Brando asks if Martin thinks he gives a damn about optics. He cares about Sasha. He cares about what Martin can do for her. Martin says, Brando needs to care about all of it. Just like he does. Sasha’s drawn the attention of the internet; she’s gone viral. Given the recent nature of political events involving their mayor, the DA’s office is doing everything to avoid the appearance of favoritism. Sasha’s a celebrity. Optics. Translation: don’t expect any kind of preferential treatment, because they’re in no position to give her a break. Brando asks what they do, and Martin says, he motivates his wife to take a more active part in her own defense. He agrees she needs help. She needs a psyche consult, but he doesn’t know if she’d be receptive to the idea. Most of all, she needs to demonstrate her commitment to intensive therapy and restitution. Brando says he doesn’t know if Sasha is ready to confront this, and Martin says, and that severely limits their options. He can only think of one other way to keep Brando’s wife out of prison.

Britt tells Cody, it’s official; she’s been stood up. She’s going to the pool. He says, he’d ask to join her, but she’d just say he’s pushing it, and she says, maybe he is getting to know her. Maxie and Sam join them, and Maxie says, they are getting along. Britt asks for a word with her, and they step aside. Britt asks, what happened to brunch; did Maxie forget? Maxie says, she got hung up at Deception, damage control, and Britt says, right. Sorry. How’s Sasha doing? Any word? Maxie says, nothing from her side; not happy things from theirs. Britt says, when she sees Sasha, tell her she has friends, and Maxie says, she will. It seems like Britt is all about friends these days. Looking pretty cozy over there. She asks, what’s that? indicating the envelope in Britt’s hand, and Britt says, just a silly gift Cody made her. Maxie says, oh… really, and Britt says she’ll overlook whatever part Maxie played in securing him a second date. Maxie gets excited, and says, they’re going on a second date? Britt says, calm down. It’s just a date. Don’t go pricing wedding venues.

Alexis tells Gregory, what Sasha did to Smoltz is news, regardless of extenuating circumstances, but is it newsworthy? He says, that sounds like leftover lawyer speak, and she says, it’s human speak, because she’s a human being. You know who else is a human being? Sasha Gilmore. Gregory says, one that she knows personally. Could that be precluding her view? She says, she barely knows Sasha. She’s looking at the big picture, and given the impact of social media, and various platforms, in contemporary journalism, that’s something that has to be taken very seriously. He says, by all means, put the truth out there, and she says, Cronkite said, in seeking the truth, you need to be able to look at both sides of the story. If they just tell the facts of what happened to Sasha, it’s a disservice to her and their readers. He says, don’t tell him she has alternative facts, and she says, she has context. In the span of a year, Sasha has overdosed, she’s gotten clean, she’s fallen in love, she’s lost a child, she’s been in a fatal car crash, she’s relapsed, and she’s still struggling with her mental health. So if they omit all that, and just print she attacked a car with a valet sign, that’s not showing respect to the Fourth Estate. It’s character assassination disguised as journalism.

Martin says he knows he can cut a deal with the DA’s office, predicated on the promise that Sasha stays out of trouble moving forward, but Brando says he doesn’t know if they can guarantee that. Martin says, in her current state? Brando had better guarantee it, because if he makes a deal, and she breaks her promise, she will be remanded to prison. Like he said, there might be one other way, if Brando’s prepared for it. Brando asks if it’s something that would get the DA to accept this deal, and Martin asks if he knows what guardianship is. Brando says, it’s like a conservatorship, right? and Martin says, exactly. In New York state, the guardianship is utilized when an adult is considered legally incapacitated. Brando says, Martin wants them to claim Sasha is incapable of taking care of herself? and Martin asks, what happened during her last therapy appointment? Brando says, she didn’t make it, and Martin asks if Brando would say her condition makes her less able to manage things, like her health and financial affairs. Brando says he doesn’t know about this, and Martin says, take it easy. They’re not talking about tossing Sasha into some 19th century house of hysteria; this is simply a strategy. It’s a way to keep her at home, and out of prison. Appoint someone, a guardian to watch out for her well-being, make sure she gets to appointments on time, safeguard her finances. It doesn’t have to be forever. Brando says, it seems extreme, and Martin says, it’s Brando’s call, but given Sasha’s state of mind, is she ready for a trial? He doesn’t think it would go well for her. Does Brando?

Sasha says she’s tired, and Gladys says she knows, but they’re all doing their best to help her. She can’t read Sasha’s mind, but she’ll tell Sasha what’s on hers. Sasha is her family now, and that means Gladys will do whatever it takes to look out for her.

Brook says, what she can offer Chase is unique, and Linc says, what is  this, a double-standard? Brook tells him, get his head out of the gutter, if it’s at all possible. Linc is only looking at Chase as a performer. She’s a songwriter and they’ve collaborated before. If they share songwriting credit, he’ll get a larger share of all songs produced and streamed. The money won’t be instant, but the residuals mean a lot more in the long run. Chase says, it’s very tempting, and she tells him, think about it, and leaves. She walks over to Dante, and he says he’d clap for her, but he doesn’t want to blow her cover. That was a great show. Is there anything she can’t do? She says she can’t understand what he’s saying right now. Why is he smiling? He says, it’s him. They go way back. The whole wanting to be Chase’s manager is a good angle, but he knows a con when he sees one.

Gregory tells Alexis, beautifully expressed. Miss Gilmore is lucky that Alexis is Editor-in-Chief. She says, he’s agreeing with her? and he asks if that’s so hard to believe. She says, given their interaction thus far? and he says, fair enough. He agrees this story can’t be told without including Miss Gilmore’s state of mind as a mitigating factor. It’s wise to take a more nuanced approach. Alexis says, she’s concerned about violating medical confidentiality. How does she inject nuance without compromising privacy? He says, it’s tricky, but there are ways, and she says, okay, professor. He’s offered a lesson. Okeydoke. She takes out her notebook, and says, school’s in session. He says he’s honored, but she says, don’t be. She’s doing it for Sasha.

Brando says, Martin is sure no plea deal can be made? and Martin says, not if Sasha doesn’t demonstrate some kind of cooperation. Brando asks if she wouldn’t have to agree to a guardianship, but Martin says, not necessarily, especially if she was incapable of making that decision. Brando says, she’s already accused him of trying to control her life. He doesn’t know if he’s comfortable with this. Gladys and Sasha join them, and Gladys says, comfortable with what? Are they talking a game plan, a strategy? Martin says, they have a couple options to consider, but for now they’re taking it one step at a time. He tells Sasha, this officer is going to escort her to the courthouse where she’s going to be arraigned. They’ll meet her there. Does she have any questions? Sasha shakes her head, and Brando takes her hands, and says, everything’s going to be okay. She says, promise? and he says, better than that, a vow. For better or worse, in sickness and in health. He’s got her.

Maxie goes back to Cody and Sam, and says, Cody’s gift was a hit. Congrats. They high-five, and Cody thanks her for encouraging him to give it to Britt personally. Sam says, smooth move, Maxie, and he says, too bad all of Britt’s friends aren’t as supportive as they are. Sam says, if he’s referring to Spinelli, don’t worry about him; he’s been all over the place lately. Maxie says, she’s noticed that. What’s with him? Sam says she doesn’t know, aside from the fact he gave Cody a dirty look the entire time she was talking to him, and Maxie wonders why he’d be doing that. Does Cody have any idea? He says, not a clue.

Britt lies on a chaise, her eyes closed, when Spinelli clears his throat, startling her. He says, she’s about to make a mistake, and she says, his mistake was looming over her like a vampire. He almost got a swift kick. She gets up, and he says he’s serious. She can’t go out with Cody again.

Britt says she knows Dante wants his partner back, but whether he wants to believe it or not, Chase real future in music. Dante says he knows Chase is a talented guy, but he also happens to know, Chase is thinking things are pretty bleak right now, and he doesn’t want Chase to make a mistake. So please level with him. What the hell do the two of them have cooking up?

Chase tells Linc, that’s great. Tell the development team to send over the promotional package, and he’ll have his lawyers look at it. Linc says, he’s convincing, but not good enough for Linc, or himself. Chase says he’s not sure what Linc is getting at, and Linc says, don’t play a player. He knows Brook, and he knows what she’s really up to.

On Monday, Cody says, might as well put their cards on the table; Willow has the feeling Ava want something from her; Obrecht says, Nina needs to walk away now; and Dex says he just gave Michael the perfect opportunity to nail his old man.

Southern Charm

Austen joins Kathryn for a pedicure at a nail place, unoriginally called The Nail Place. He says he’s excited for girls day, and in his interview, he says he’s always had a soft spot for Kathryn. He did win Drama King in high school, and Kathryn can be dramatic as well. She asks if he’s getting a color, and he says he’s not Craig. Working at home, Craig tells himself, work smarter, not harder. Naomie calls, and he tells her that he’s working on his spring collection. She says she had a strange reaction at Olivia’s, and needs to pick his brain. She asks if he wants to get coffee, and we flash back to Paige saying, it’s inappropriate to hang out with one’s ex. Craig asks why she’s calling him about it, and Naomie says, it’s about Kathryn. She thought he’d be the best person to advise her. We flash back to Craig asking Paige, what about having lunch with an ex? and Paige saying, no. He says, it must be serious enough if she wants to talk in person. He’s going to be over by her later, and there’s a coffee shop nearby. In Craig’s interview, he says, it’s just coffee. He’ll get in and get out. They’re not getting their nails done together. Meanwhile at the nail salon, Austen says he loves Kathryn’s blond look, and she asks how things are going with him and Olivia. He says, they haven’t spoken since the party. It bothered him that after he’d talked to her about Madison, Olivia invited her to the party. He doesn’t want to pursue someone who wants to be friends with his ex. In Kathryn’s interview, she says, sometimes Austen can be a petty bitch.

Olivia and mom Robin discuss the party, and agree it was fun. Robin asks about Austen, and Olivia says, they didn’t end on the best note at the party. We flash back to Olivia telling Austen that she’s waiting for the day he doesn’t care about Madison, and she tells Robin about it. Robin says, he does seem more tense around Madison. She thinks it’s sensitive and sweet, and says, you usually don’t hear about a woman being… whatever [Madison] is. Olivia says, everyone has ex stuff, but she wants Austen to be right in that department. In Olivia’s interview, she says, a relationship with Austen is too much work. She’s not enough drama for him. He seems to like it; it’s what he’s used to. While they get a paraffin foot treatment, Austen says he’s happy Kathryn and Chleb are back together. Kathryn says, they’re trying, but in her gut, she feels like something is off. At the party, he was talking to Naomie a lot. It was weird super and disrespectful, and she felt hurt. We see a clip of Chleb telling Kathryn that Naomie was calling her names, and Kathryn saying, he should have shut it down immediately, not listen because he’s being a good guy. In Kathryn’s interview, she says she wishes he would be more aware of what he’s doing. Loyalty, hello? Austen tells her, if she thinks something off, then something is off.

Leva sees her trainer, and he does some kind of massage/stretching exercises for her muscles. In Leva’s interview, she says she wants to be present. She’s reading books about essentialism, so she doesn’t cook as much, lets the house be messy, and picks her battles at work. She’s consciously practicing to be a calmer person. But it’s not working. She loves Little Lamar, but he’s two and chaotic. We see some clips of Little in action, and she says, he’s so high energy from 6 am until his bedtime at 9 pm, which is her fault. Venita’s mom Vi visits her, and says she loves Venita’s big hair. When she was young, she had big hair. In Venita’s interview, she says, her mother didn’t tell her be perfect. She told Venita that perfect was however she chose to be. Venita tells Vi that she had a bad week. She didn’t get invited to Olivia’s party because Olivia didn’t want the garden party again. She guesses it’s embarrassing, and her feelings are hurt. Vi says, Venita’s got to talk about things, but when she’s rational; not in the heat of anger. Venita says she doesn’t know how to go about it, since she’s never seen it. Vi didn’t show her how to handle things, and hid any disagreements with her dad. Vi says she’s not talking about Venita’s dad, and in her interview, Venita says she was an only child. She was in high school when she came home one day, and her dad was gone. Her parents could have worked for the Secret Service. She had no idea it wasn’t working out. She tells Vi, all she knew was that she had two parents, and then one of them was gone, and Vi says, Venita still has two parents. In Venita’s interview, she says, her dad was probably living a double life since she was about 14. It took until her aunt called and said he was marrying someone else for her to understand her parents were done. Vi says, Venita’s dad was thinking with the wrong part of his anatomy, and it wasn’t something to discuss with her daughter. She didn’t want Venita to see her pain. Venita says she doesn’t have the insight her friends do, because they saw their parents argue, then figure it out. Vi says, it’s probably because she grew up in a house where they did argue, and Venita asks what it taught Vi. Vi says, not to do it, and in her interview, Venita says, teaching you how to avoid fighting doesn’t teach you how to deal with fighting. She’ll get overly upset at a simple confrontation, because she’s never seen anyone do that on a personal level. Vi says she tried to protect Venita from the pitfalls of life, which was not necessarily a good thing. Venita didn’t learn how to handle adversity, and Vi apologizes for what she didn’t do. Going forward, she’ll do her best. Books on parenting don’t work. You have to go through it to learn. She asks if that satisfied Venita, and Venita says, it’s more than she had yesterday.

Little Craig! Shep visits Whitney and Patricia, who’s gotten Little Craig a champagne bottle toy, which she says is unshreddable. Whitney says, Little Craig is like a piranha meets the Tasmanian Devil, and Shep says, his dad calls the dog a French terrorist. New guy Randy is doing the butlering, and Patricia says, nobody can take Michael’s place, but he’s good. Whitney says, Randy alleviates his duties, like official dog walker. In Patricia’s interview, she says, Randy is a lovely man. He’s a good server and fixes drinks so much better than Whitney. We flash back to Whitney bumbling through things, and see that Little Craig is already well on his way to totally destroying his new toy. Patricia says, speaking of incurring damage, Little Craig was involved in Peaches’ violation. Shep asks if they had a roll in the hay, and Whitney says, Little Craig is a feral mess. Done with his toy destruction, Little Craig runs to find Peaches, and Patricia says, let him; the damage has been done. In her interview, Patricia says, mounted is too strong a word. He sullied Peaches’ reputation. She tells Shep that Little Craig has to do the honorable thing. She’d like to have a wedding. (I can’t wait!) Shep asks if she wants Little Craig to make an honest doggy of Peaches, and Patricia says, he thinks she’s kidding. She doesn’t see anybody here doing anything in the near future. Shep says, so they’ll give her the wedding she richly deserves. She asks if Little Craig has a tux. She’s getting Peaches a wedding gown. In Shep’s interview, he says, if Whitney had his way, he’d be a bachelor for life. Still living in hope, Patricia says she doesn’t want to preempt any wedding bells, and asks Shep about Taylor. Shep says, Taylor’s not a pressure type of gal.

Taylor visits Marcie, and checks out the nursery, saying, it’s so pink; she loves it. Marcie says she’s glad she’s done. She’s due in 5 weeks. In Taylor’s interview, she says, in her perfect world she’d get married around 30, and have kids by 33. How old is she now? (I looked it up. She’s 27.) Marcie shows Taylor the outfit she’s taking the baby home in, and they move on to an entire closet full of clothes. In her interview, Taylor says she gets giddy looking at clothes and strollers. Shep’s clock isn’t ticking, but hers is. Shep tells Patricia that he thinks he’s in the clear, but Patricia says, don’t kid yourself. Whitney asks how long they’ve been going out, and Shep says, two years. Patricia says, if there was no proposal after four months, that’s it. In Patricia’s interview, she says, Taylor is making a mistake be acquiescing. She needs to give him an ultimatum. Patricia says, she’s amazed that any woman could put up with the two of them, and Shep says, they’re on the George Clooney/Warren Beatty track.

Naomie calls Craig, saying she’s at the coffee place, and they’re out of chai. She places both their orders, and when he gets there, she asks why he’s grumpy. He insists he’s not, and she asks if he had fun at Olivia’s party. He asks it was about Kathryn she wanted to discuss, and she says, during the party, Chleb came up and started going in about Kathryn. We flash back to that, and Naomie says, Chleb was saying not nice things. Craig says, like what? and we flash back to Chleb saying he could only listen so much to Kathryn, then he’d put on ESPN and tune out. Like practically every man doesn’t do this. She tells Craig, Chleb doesn’t seem happy. The one lesson she learned after her and Craig was, never air your dirty laundry to other people. She has regrets about talking bad about Craig, and she’s pretty sure Metul did the same thing to her. Karma is very real. She wonders what’s making Craig uncomfortable. He’s jittery, making no eye contact, and keeps looking over his shoulder. Who’s coming? She says, he’s acting like she’s part of a sting operation or something. She doesn’t know what’s going on, and wishes he’d just be straight and not act like a weirdo. In Craig’s interview, he wonders why they needed to have coffee for Naomie to tell him that Chleb was talking sh*t about Kathryn. Naomie says she feels bad for Kathryn. They’ll never be good friends, but she feels it’s the right thing to hand Craig the information. Maybe he could just talk to her. He says, maybe, but he’s got to be going. He’s picking up Paige from the airport. Naomie suggests they do a fun night out, and Craig says, one day, maybe. Naomie says she just wants to have fun, but Craig says, unfortunately, there are boundaries. He’s glad they can catch up and be friends, but at the end of the day, Naomie is his ex-girlfriend, and Paige doesn’t appreciate it. They can’t hang out just yet. Naomie says, they can’t forget the past, and in his interview, Craig says he thinks Paige is being understanding, even though she doesn’t understand the situation, since she lives in NYC, where you don’t run into your ex all the time or hang out with them. He doesn’t want to push or disrespect her any further. In Naomie’s interview, she says, if  she hadn’t thought she and Craig were on the same page, she wouldn’t have asked him for coffee. She’s not trying to get with him. She’s not the type who tries to get with a guy who has a girlfriend. If it feels awkward, that’s on them, not her. I can see it both ways, but I’ve never really wanted to hang out with an ex. Oh wait. I do hang out with my boyfriend from high school once in a while, but those feelings are long gone. If they were even real at that age. Now he’s someone I grew up with.

Olivia calls Naomie from the car, and says she’s meeting Venita. Naomie says, awesome; heal it up. They meet at a juice bar, and in Venita’s interview, she says, with her parents, all she’s seen is avoidance of fighting, confrontation, and issues. She wants to step up and resolve this, rather than letting it sit. Venita asks how the party was, and Olivia says, fun. They toast to this thing (i.e. their meeting), and Olivia says she appreciates Venita reaching out. Venita says, they had a rocky start, and she wants to be able to lay everything on the table. Olivia says she thinks Venita has a false perception of who she is, and she was thrown by Venita’s misconceptions. Insinuating something is not cool. Venita says, when Olivia walked away, it felt dismissive, and Olivia gets how it could be perceived, but it’s her way to cool off when she knows nothing is going to get resolved in that moment. Venita apologizes for coming at Olivia so hot. It wasn’t necessary, and it’s not who she is as an individual. She suggests they make it a clean slate. Now they just have to worry about everyone else. She says, with all that smoke and heat between Austen and Madison, why invite Madison to the party? Olivia says, she and Madison are fine, but she got an earful about it. We flash back to Austen acting stupid, and Venita asks if Olivia and Austen are dating. Olivia says, they only went out one-on-one once, and they’re in in that weird limbo. Venita wonders if Madison knows, and Olivia asks why it would matter. Venita says, Madison and Austen were so deeply involved, part of Madison feels entitled to know what’s going on. It’s not worth it.

Chleb goes to mom Debbie’s house, and she asks if he’s working hard. He says, seven days; he’s pretty damn tired. Debbie wonders if he didn’t take the tag off his shoes, but he says, it’s the style. She says, it seems awkward, but he says, it’s the drip these days. She asks how Kathryn is, and he says, they went through some stuff. There was a girl named Naomie at the party who Kathryn dislikes, and she and Chleb got to talking. We see a clip of Kathryn telling Chleb, it’s embarrassing. In Chleb’s interview, he says he doesn’t want to be in a relationship with someone he’s thinking negatively about. Debbie says, it takes work, and suggests he make a list of what he likes and dislikes about the relationship. She says, if you have more dislikes than likes, you ain’t gonna make it, baby.

Paige is at Craig’s, and he offers her every coffee flavor known to man. She says, yuck to maple, which is one of my favorites, but she also hates mint, and we’re in agreement there. My only exception is Thin Mint Girl Scout cookies. She asks if he can imagine when they actually have a kitchen, and in Craig’s interview, he says, it’s hard to play house with no kitchen, and living out of boxes. The fact that Paige feels comfortable with things as is, is an incredible sign. Paige suggests sitting outside, and Craig wonders if they make an iced coffee maker. Paige is like, nooo, and says, he loves tea anyway. In his interview, he says, Paige loves how he is, and he loves that feeling. She’s his biggest fan. Aww. They’re not engaged yet, but he thinks he’s found his person. They sit in rockers on the porch, and he tells her that he’d like a big family, and wants to renovate the house with that vision.

Event planner Erica goes to Patricia’s, and Patricia says she thinks it would be fun to have a dog wedding, so she needed a wedding planner. Erica asks how big it will be, and Patricia says, around 25 people. It might be the only wedding she throws. In Patricia’s interview, she says she has Whitney’s wedding planned. A medieval cathedral, a florist from Paris, Valentino for the mother-of-the-bride dress, but she doesn’t get to make those decisions. Erica asks, who is going to officiate? and Patricia says, Little Craig and Peaches go to the same vet. She thinks Dr. Berger will agree to officiate. They decide on having it in the garden, and Erica asks if Patricia wants the guests welcomed with champagne. Patricia says she does, but she wants it in coups, not flutes. Erica asks about cakes, and Patricia wants the ones featured in Steel Magnolias. The groom’s cake is an armadillo cake in red velvet. She tells Erica, the invitations have already gone out.

To be continued…

Next time, Whitney and Shep talk human marriage; the dog wedding happens; Olivia brings a date that’s not Austen; Whitney plays guitar; and Craig tells Naomie that she left a loving relationship to be with a controlling a-hole. She won’t affect his life anymore.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

At The Savoy, Bobbie stares daggers at Nina, and Sonny tells her, don’t worry about them. Nina asks what they’re doing here, and he asks what she means. Carly tells Bobbie to stop glaring; don’t give them the satisfaction. Bobbie says, Sonny is parading around with Nina. Where’s his sense of shame? He’s actually holding her hand. Carly says, if it doesn’t affect Donna, she doesn’t care, and Bobbie says, Carly might be over it, but she’s not. She thinks it’s high time she gave them a piece of her mind. She gets up.

At Kelly’s, Finn gives Violet a placemat and crayons, telling her that she can draw whatever she likes. He puts headphones on her head, and she says she likes the song. She gets busy drawing, and Finn tells Gregory that he thinks she’s sufficiently distracted. He doesn’t want to scare her. Gregory says, with talk of ghosts, because Elizabeth thinks Franco is… haunting her? but Finn says, no. He thinks Violet is onto something because the only person present at every incident was Elizabeth. Gregory says, because someone is harassing her, but Finn says, what if that someone is Elizabeth herself?

Elizabeth picks up Violet’s drawing of the family, and tears Finn and Violet off of it.

Taggert thanks Portia for the invitation, and I’m confused. Wasn’t she at The Savoy with Epiphany and Stella? He says he could certainly use the company, and she says, so he read Trina’s Title IX report too. He says, hell yeah, and she asks if he thinks it’s going to have any impact on Trina’s criminal trial. He says, there wouldn’t be a criminal trial in the first place if it wasn’t for their esteemed Commissioner.

TJ says, the muggers already have their wallets and their phones; isn’t it enough? Marshall says, just take it, handing over the clarinet case, but TJ struggles with guy two as he takes it. Marshall pushes guy one back, and drops the knife.

Michael and Wiley play with toy cars, and Michael says he hopes Wiley gets this out of his system before he’s 16. Wiley says, 16 is old, and Michael says, thanks, buddy. He asks how Willow is feeling, and she says, Epiphany warned her nursing school would be hard, but she’s exhausted. He says he’s glad she didn’t stick it out for Leo’s birthday party. She was missed, but there were plenty of people there to celebrate. She asks if Leo had a good time, and Michael says, he did. She says, she tried taking a nap, but she couldn’t fall asleep, and Wiley says he could read her a bedtime story that always makes him fall asleep. She suggests she and daddy read him a story, since it’s past his bedtime, and Michael thinks they should spend a little extra time with him tonight. Willow says, how about two bedtime stories, and afterward, they’ll snuggle. Wiley wants a bedtime snack too, and Michael says, he drives a hard bargain. Willow says, deal, and Wiley says, yay!

Carly asks Bobbie to please sit down. She just said, she doesn’t want to give them the satisfaction. Bobbie says she’s Carly’s mother, and has the right to be indignant on her behalf. Carly says she understands that, and loves Bobbie for it, but can they keep the indignation between them? Please. Bobbie says, okay, fine, and sits back down. But Carly better buckle up because Bobbie has something to say to her, and she’s not going to like it.

Sonny says, he and Nina are just two people trying to wipe out their troubles for a while. There’s nothing wrong with that. Nina says, it seems like Bobbie definitely disagrees, and now that The Invader has reminded everyone in the world of her many transgressions, she’s sure there are plenty of people who have opinions about seeing them together. He says, people can think what they want. They don’t know them or what they’ve been through. She says she doesn’t care about people, she cares about him, but she can’t ignore the fact she caused him a lot of trouble, and it’s time she did something about that. He says, like what?

Gregory says, Finn thinks Elizabeth is stalking herself? That’s absurd. Finn says, this person keeps getting to Elizabeth without leaving a trace. At her home, at the hospital, at her room at the MetroCourt. Gregory says, there has to be another explanation, and Finn says, of course (🍷) she has access to her home, to her room at the MetroCourt, and Franco’s art studio, which would explain how someone got in and out without getting caught. The only big hole in the theory is that she wasn’t at home when the portrait was placed on the mantel. If he remembers correctly, no one saw Elizabeth sleeping at GH that night. Is it possible she went home and placed the painting there herself? Gregory says, there’s an even bigger hole in Finn’s theory. He’s told Gregory many times what a loving, devoted mom Elizabeth is to her three sons. Why would she torment herself, let alone her three boys?

Elizabeth sits on the couch in the dark, cutting up the part of the picture she tore off with a pair of scissors. Cameron comes in and turns on the lights. He says, mom? but she doesn’t acknowledge him.

Taggert says, Jordan, and she says, it’s good to see him… she thinks. He asks, what happened? The Jordan he knew was committed to justice being served. Jordan and Portia say hi, and Jordan tells Taggert, she can assure him that her commitment to justice is as strong as ever. He says, really? Then why is his daughter still facing a trial when it’s obvious she’s been framed? Jordan says, he knows she can’t comment on ongoing investigations, and he says he’s aware of the evidence she has against Trina. He worked at the PCPD a long time, and still has connections. What he doesn’t understand is why she’s sitting on her hands, letting Trina take the fall, instead of going out and finding the real criminal.

Guy one picks up his knife and slashes Marshall, who falls to the ground. The clarinet goes flying, and TJ runs to Marshall. Guy one throws TJ against the wall, and it’s two against one, but Curtis shows up. He kicks the muggers’ asses, as TJ tends to Marshall. Guy two (I think) runs off, and Curtis knocks the other one down. He says, at least they got one of them, and TJ asks if Marshall can hear him. He tells Curtis, call 9-1-1.

Portia tells Taggert to give his former partner some credit. She knows who Trina is, just like they do. Jordan says she’s still keeping an eye on Trina’s case, even though it’s now in the DA’s hands. Taggert thanks her for whatever she may or may not be doing, and she says, he may or may not be welcome. Portia asks if Jordan heard about the Title IX report that PCU released today, and Jordan says she hasn’t seen it yet, but assumes a copy went straight to the DA’s office. Portia says, Trina read it and she’s interpreting it as bad news. She’s concerned if she’s found responsible, she’s going to be expelled. She asks if Jordan thinks that would make it more likely Trina would be found guilty in the criminal trial.

Carly asks what she’s not going to like, and Bobbie says, Carly is putting on a great front, but there’s no point in torturing herself. Let’s leave. Carly says, no. She didn’t do anything wrong; she’s not going anywhere. Would Bobbie have let Lucy Coe run her out of every club? Bobbie says, she’s not suggesting Carly leave in every instance, but tonight, she doesn’t need the extra stress. She has nothing to prove. Carly says, Bobbie is right, but she’s still not going anywhere.

Nina says, the way she sees it, Sonny has been suffering the consequences of her bad choices. He almost died saving her from a fire that Peter set. Then when he got his memory back, he came back from a family, and moved on from her. His wife married her best friend, his marriage ended, and now he has a feud with his son because of her. Her being here with him is not a good idea. So for once, she’s going to make it easy on him, think about him, and go. He says, wait a minute. She can go if she wants to, but don’t do it on his account. Because for him, her being around is no trouble.

Finn says, Gregory is right; Elizabeth is a wonderful mother. Gregory says, then why would she create a situation where it wasn’t safe to live with her kids? and Finn says, she had trouble sleeping; the doctor even gave her a prescription. Gregory says, so? and Finn says, people react differently. Sleep aids have made people do lots of things; sleepwalking for one. Maybe that’s why she doesn’t remember any of these incidents. He has to go talk to her. He asks if Gregory will look after Violet for a minute, and Gregory says, of course (🍷), but he wants Finn to be careful. If Finn’s theory is right, and Elizabeth is responsible, either consciously or unconsciously, she attacked Chase. Who knows what else she might be capable of? Finn takes Violet’s headphones off, and says he’s sorry, but he has to go do something. She says he hasn’t had dessert yet, and he asks her to bring him something to go. He’ll see her at home later. She asks if he’s going to see Aunt Elizabeth, and he says he is. She tells him to let Elizabeth know she’s making her another drawing, and he says he will. He says he loves her, kisses the top of her head, and leaves.

Elizabeth continues to concentrate on cutting the picture, and Cameron says, mom? It’s him; he’s home. She doesn’t even acknowledge him, and he sits on the couch. He says, she’s starting to freak him out a little bit. Is she okay? What is she doing? She freezes, with the scissors midair.

Jordan says, there’s a good chance the judge won’t even allow the Title IX to be entered into evidence, and Portia says, that’s good news. Taggert says, it’s not guaranteed, and Jordan says, no, but he has to have faith. He says, that’s in short supply these days, and walks off. Portia says, Jordan will have to forgive Taggert. He’s hurting right now, but he knows she supports Trina, and he’s grateful; as is Portia. She asks if Jordan wants to join her and have a drink, if she’s not on the clock, and Jordan says she’s definitely off duty. She just came to blow off some steam. Portia says, by herself? and Jordan says she knows Curtis is out of town. She just doesn’t want any unsavory characters thinking they can take advantage. Portia asks if Jordan is saying Curtis’s business is being threatened.

Molly arrives, seeing the police cars, and ambulance. She says, oh my God, TJ, and runs to him. She asks, what happened? When they didn’t show up at the club, she went looking for them and saw the lights. TJ says, they were headed to an alley. Marshall said it was a back way to get into the club, when all of a sudden, they were stopped by some muggers who had knives. They gave them their phones and their wallets, but they got greedy; they wanted Marshall’s clarinet case. Curtis says, all of this because Marshall didn’t want to let go of his clarinet case? and TJ says, no, Marshall did, but he knew how important the clarinet was to him. So when he saw Marshall handing over the case, he reached for it, and they started struggling. Marshall is taken away on a stretcher, and Curtis says, it’s okay. TJ was brave. They’re taking Marshall to New York Methodist. Let’s go. They go, leaving Molly in the alley by herself. Where TJ and Marshall just got mugged.

Finn goes to Elizabeth’s house, and asks Cameron, what’s going on? Cameron says he doesn’t know. He came home a while ago, and Elizabeth was just cutting that paper. She won’t say anything, and he doesn’t know what to do. Finn picks up part of the picture, and sees his head has been cut out of it. He sits on the couch, and tells Elizabeth, it’s him. Can she hear him? She just stares into space, her hand holding the scissors still frozen, and Cameron says, what’s wrong with her? Why won’t she say anything? Finn tells her, it’s okay. Can she give him the scissors? There’s no response, and he cups his hand around the scissors. Elizabeth comes to, and he tells her, it’s okay. He promises no one is going to hurt her. He takes the scissors, and she says, Finn? What’s happening? She looks around, and says, she’s home? How did she get here?

Michael says, Wiley fell asleep early, and Willow wonders why. Could it be because someone kept him up an hour past his bedtime playing trucks? Michael says he knows it’s best to get him on a regular routine, but they were having so much fun, he felt bad calling it a night. She says, what if that all changes tomorrow? She’s really stressed about the hearing. What reasonable grandmother wouldn’t want contact with their grandchild? And Nina is really good at convincing people she’s reasonable. He says, worrying themselves into the ground isn’t going to do any good. Diane has repeatedly told him they have a strong case. Willow says, it’s not a slam dunk. What if they’re both wrong, and Nina wins?

In the back of the club, Taggert sees Sonny, who asks if he’s enjoying his night. Taggert says, not even a little, and Sonny says he knows what’s going on with Trina. Taggert says, Trina had nothing to do with what happened with Sonny’s stepdaughter, and Sonny says he knows that. Josslyn spends a lot of time with Trina, and he knows Trina is a great person. She’d never do what she’s being accused of. Taggert nods moves on.

Carly is looking at her phone, and Bobbie says, if she wants to have a conversation with Carly, should she start sending texts? Carly says, sorry. She’s just really distracted right now. Bobbie asks if it’s about the test results from GH, and Sonny’s supersonic ears pick that up. Bobbie says, she thought Carly was going to forget about that until tomorrow, and Sonny says, test results at GH; Is Carly sick? What’s going on? Bobbie says she thinks they could use a minute. She’ll be back. She leaves, and Sonny sits down. He asks if this has anything to do with when Carly was attacked by Harmony, and she says she appreciates his concern, but her life has nothing to do with him anymore. He says, she’s Donna’s mother, and she says, and if it affected Donna, she’d tell him. He says she can’t brush this off that easy. He knows when she’s hiding something.

Bobbie goes to the bar, and asks if Nina is enjoying her evening. Nina says, considering the visitation hearing is tomorrow, it’s probably best they didn’t speak tonight. Bobbie says, if Nina listens to what she has to say, there won’t be a hearing tomorrow.

Willow asks Michael, what if they’re forced to let Nina see Wiley? She’s so needy. She wants Wiley to love her. She wants him to console her over the loss of Nelle. It’s not really about Wiley at all. She’s afraid of the lesson he might take from that; that his needs don’t matter. As Wiley grows up, he’s going to have to handle challenges, and deal with people who are out for themselves, but she wants him to know that family is always a place he can feel loved and protected. Michael says, he will. They’ll block Nina’s petition, he promises. She says, when she found out about Harmony’s lies, it made her stop and reassess what family means. He and Wiley matter more to her than anything. She’ll always fight for them. He says, and he’ll be by her side. No matter what Nina throws at them tomorrow, or in the future, they’ll hit her back twice as hard. She asks if it’s messed up that hearing him say that makes her love him more, and he says, not at all. Hearing how protective she is, and how she wants to keep their family safe, makes him love her even more. She says, it seems they’re a perfect match, and he says, 1000%, and they kiss.

Jordan tells Portia, she doesn’t think Curtis is in any trouble. She’s just being overly cautious. Portia says she knows Jordan still cares about Curtis, and Jordan says, it’s not like that, but Portia says, she didn’t mean it in that way. She means Jordan is always going to be family to Curtis, and she respects that. She’s glad Jordan has his back. Jordan asks if Portia has heard from him, and Portia says, he texted her when he got to Brooklyn, but she hasn’t heard anything from him since. Jordan says she hasn’t had any updates from TJ either. She wonders if they found Marshall yet, and Portia hopes when they do, they’re able to heal the wounds between Curtis and his dad.

At the hospital, TJ says, this is on him. He doesn’t know what he was thinking, grabbing for that case. Molly says, he was being mugged. He acted on instinct because he knows how important that clarinet is to Marshall. Curtis says, TJ was incredibly brave. He knows it’s Marshall’s most prized possession. He did right by Marshall. A doctor comes out, and Curtis asks if his father is okay. The doctor says, he lost a lot of blood, but he’s stable. They’re going to take him for a CT and an MRI to rule out any traumatic brain injury. Before they do, is there anything about Marshall’s medicant history they should know? Any medications? Any allergies? Curtis says, he takes blood pressure medication, but he’s not sure which kind or the dosage. Marshall just recently came back to their family. They don’t know much about his medical history. The doctor goes back, and TJ says, there’s still so much they don’t know about Marshall. Curtis says, they still have a chance, but TJ says, what if he doesn’t make it? Curtis says he knows TJ is a doctor, and his first impulse is to go to the worst case scenario, but don’t let himself go there. They came all this way to find Marshall. They’re not going to give up now.

Gregory tells Violet not to worry; everything will be okay. He won’t worry either. She shows him her latest drawing – everyone seated at a long table – and he says, it’s beautiful. She says, it’s him, her, Aunt Elizabeth, daddy, and Uncle Chase at a tea party. Maybe Aunt Elizabeth will feel better if they throw her a tea party. It always makes her feel better. Gregory says, sometimes grown-up problems are more complicated, and she says, she wishes she never has grown-up problems. He says, if he could keep her this age he would, and she wonders if she can ask him something. He says, anything, and she asks if he’s going to finish his brownie. He gives it to her.

Finn asks, what’s the last thing Elizabeth remembers? and she says she was lying down Laura’s. Did Laura and Doc bring her here? He says he called Laura’s because he wanted to talk to her; he wanted to apologize. Laura told him that she’d snuck out. He came looking here first. She says she doesn’t remember any of that. Did Cameron pick her up and drive her here? Cameron says, no. He’s been crashing at Ian’s dorm, and came back to get his laptop. He found her sitting here, and tried talking to her, but she ignored him like she was in a trance. She asks what she was doing, and he says, she was just sitting there, cutting up  that picture. She says, that’s the picture Violet gave her Why would she destroy it? Why doesn’t she remember any of this? Finn asks if she wants to go back to Laura and Doc’s and talk about it in the morning. Elizabeth says she doesn’t know why came or what she was doing. If Finn knows what’s going on, he has to tell her. Cameron says he agrees with his mom. If Finn has any idea what’s happening, they need to hear it. Finn says he thinks maybe the person they’ve been looking for, the one who’s intruding on her life, is her. Cameron asks if Finn is saying his mom has been harassing their family. That’s just not possible; she wouldn’t do that. Finn says he’s sorry. He knows it’s upsetting, but they have to understand Elizabeth wasn’t conscious of what she was doing. It was a form of sleepwalking. It explains how someone kept getting in and out without leaving any evidence. Cameron’s mom was present for almost every intrusion. Elizabeth gets up, and says, no, that’s impossible. There’s no way she’d forget doing all of those things. Finn says, just tonight she lost track of time. She doesn’t remember leaving Laura’s; she doesn’t remember coming here. She doesn’t remember cutting up Violet’s drawing. When he and Cam found her, she woudn’t respond to either one of them. Doesn’t Cameron agree? Cameron says, yes. He kept trying to talk to her, and she ignored him, like he wasn’t there. Finn says, if they hadn’t found her, if she’d come out of it on her own, what would she have thought happened? She says she doesn’t know. If what he’s saying is true, she’s the one who stashed the ring. She’s the one who slashed her dress she wore when she married Franco. She put the portrait he did of her up here? How would she even get it? Did she set fire to Franco’s studio? Is she the one who hit Chase over the head? What’s happening to her? Finn says, it’s okay. He holds her, and says, it’s going be okay. She looks pretty freaked.

TJ says, he’d update his mom, but he doesn’t want to worry her until they have definitive answers. Curtis asks if TJ and Marshall got to talk much before the mugging, and TJ says, Marshall was reluctant to come back to Port Charles. He also said he did Curtis and his dad a favor when he left all those years ago. Curtis says, he’s not the only one, and TJ says, he agrees? Curtis says, not him; his mom. Molly asks how he knows this, and Curtis says, Stella told him that she knew all along Marshall was alive. According to Aunt Stella, it was Marshall’s idea to disappear after he got arrested. And the strange thing is, his mom agreed with it. TJ says, that doesn’t make any sense. Why? Curtis says, Aunt Stella said that had to come from Marshall. Believe him. He had all those questions and more. Now they just have to hope Marshall tells them what he’s been hiding. An orderly comes out, and asks if they’re Marshall’s family, and Curtis asks, is his father okay?

Taggert says he’s going to take off, and Portia says, they’re going to help Trina through this, no matter what comes her way. They hug, and Jordan tells Taggert, Trina is a fantastic young woman. She doesn’t want to see Trina hurt. Are they good? Taggert says, they go way back, and Jordan certainly proved to be true to his family. Whatever she’s doing, he trusts her. He leaves, and Jordan says she knows Trina is in a difficult situation, but she sure has an amazing support system around her. Joss and Cam stood by her, and of course (🍷) there’s Portia, Curtis, and Taggert. Portia says, Taggert has always been such a devoted father, and Jordan remembers Portia saying she needs to tell Trina the truth about her father, when she and Portia were trapped in the basement. Portia asks if there’s something on Jordan’s mind, and Jordan says, Portia, and the things she said the day they were almost killed.

Carly says, whatever she’s doing, whatever tests she’s had run, Sonny has lost the right to know about it. Sonny says, just because they’re divorced, doesn’t mean they weren’t partners for years, so if she’s sick or hurt, he wants to know about it. Not just because of the kids, but because he cares about her. He sent her a voicemail after Harmony attacked her; did she get it? She says she did. She’s sorry she didn’t respond. He says he knows things are different, but he’ll always be here for her. She says she’s not sick or hurt, and he says, then what’s these GH test results, and why are they so important?

Bobbie tells Nina, call off the petition before it blows up in her face, but Nina says she’s not discussing this with Bobbie. They’re going before a judge tomorrow. Nina starts to leave, and Bobbie says, wait a minute. Does she really think those articles will be the end of it? Michael will keep coming for her. Nina says, let him. He can’t say anything worse than he has already. Bobbie asks if Nina knows that she was the first one to see through Nelle. She had Nelle pegged as a gold digging psycho the first time her daughter let Nelle through the door. Now she sees where Nelle got it. Nina is more polished, but she’s just as entitled and just as greedy, helping herself to things that don’t belong to her; like other people’s husbands and other people’s children. Nina says, Bobbie is no Mother Teresa herself. She knows all about Bobbie’s messy sordid past, all the way back to when she manipulated Laura and Scotty, because she wanted Scotty for herself. And let’s not forget all the people Bobbie lied to, and this little nugget, all the husbands she cheated on. Bobbie says she hasn’t wrecked any homes lately, unlike Nina, who helped herself to Sonny. Not that Nina cares what it did to Carly, but what about Donna and Avery? She doesn’t care about two little girls who love their family? She’d rather go around wringing her hands over Nelle, and make excuses for Nelle’s laundry list of crimes. Nina says, she was robbed of a chance to help her daughter, to help Nelle, but Bobbie got a second chance with her daughter, didn’t she? So Carly turned out to be every bit as twisted as her prostitute mother. Didn’t Bobbie think she knew about that part of her sordid past? Fortunately, Scotty likes to talk. Bobbie says, if she was younger, she’d toss a pitcher of margaritas all over Nina, and Nina says, but now she’s older… and wiser. Bobbie says, young at heart… only a bit wiser, and throws her drink in Nina’s face. Is Bobbie really this stupid? I hate when they make the characters seem like idiots. But of course (🍷 goes for me too), Nina will be stupid and do nothing.

Michael and Willow get busy and there’s a song part. I take a power nap.

Jordan tells Portia, memory is a funny thing, isn’t it? She hadn’t thought about their near death experience in ages. Then all of a sudden, she’s hearing Portia’s voice talking about telling Trina the truth about her father. Portia says, personally she likes to keep close encounters with death locked deep in her psyche, but thanks for the reminder. Jordan says she’ll keep her mouth shut next time. Did Portia ever tell Trina what she thought Trina should know about Taggert? Portia says, she was deprived of oxygen, as was Jordan. Clearly she wasn’t thinking straight. Of course (🍷) in any conversation she’d have with Trina about her father, he’d be included. Jordan tells her, just don’t keep it inside forever. They only have to look at Marshall to see how secrets in families can fester. Portia says she thinks Curtis still has time to make things right with his father, and Jordan says, if they give themselves that chance. Portia says, Curtis will. He always does what’s right by his family.

The orderly says, they’re bringing Marshall back from his tests, and gives Curtis his effects (i.e. his stuff). Curtis asks if it’s possible to see him, and she says, he can only have one visitor at a time. TJ tells Curtis to go, and he follows the orderly. TJ looks in the bag, and says, Marshall’s clarinet. It must still be in the alley; he has to go back and get it. Molly says, no, he doesn’t. She takes pieces of the clarinet out of her bag, and says, she scooped these up, even though some pieces are damaged a little bit. TJ says, now they just need Marshall to wake up.

Curtis sits by Marshall’s bed. He sighs.

Violet asks if Gregory will keep her drawing safe, and he says he’ll guard it with his life. She says, if it will make him feel better, he can hold her hand. They walk out hand-in-hand.

Elizabeth asks why she’s doing these horrible things. What’s wrong with her? Finn says he doesn’t know, but he promises they’re going to find out.

Willow says, Michael’s really not worried about the visitation hearing tomorrow, and he says, of course (🍷) he is, but they have each other. They’ll find a way to make everything okay. She says she loves him, and he says, and he loves her.

Nina says, Bobbie going to pay for this, tomorrow when she gets legal visitation rights to Wiley. Carly runs up, grabbing Bobbie away, and Sonny says, back off; that’s enough. Sonny gets a napkin from the bar, and gives it to Nina, who wipes her face. He asks, what happened? and Nina tells him, let’s just say it was a painful reminder of how important it is she’s granted legal visitation rights to Wiley.

Carly asks if Bobbie is okay, and Bobbie says, she knows she should have been the bigger person, but she couldn’t stop herself. Carly says, way to go, mom, and Bobbie says she’s surprised Carly isn’t mad. Carly says, she loved it. That is the least of what Nina deserves. Bobbie says, give her hell tomorrow at the hearing, and Carly says she intends to

On Monday, TJ tells Curtis that he found something he wasn’t expecting; Finn tells Chase, he thinks he knows who’s been harassing Elizabeth; Elizabeth asks if she’s losing her mind; and Dante tells Sonny, think about it before he gets on the stand on behalf of Nina.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Laura is talking on the phone about Rocco at the MetroCourt, when Cyrus approaches. He says he didn’t mean to eavesdrop, and she says, of course (🍷) not. He says he heard about her former son-in-law. It’s a dangerous world, although with their family, it seems to be the rule rather than the exception, doesn’t it?

Sam visits Dante, who asks what he’s doing there. She says, he doesn’t remember? and he says he feels like he was hit by a truck. She says, close. He was stabbed with a loaded syringe. He says, by who? and she says, her mother.

Martin meets Alexis in Jordan’s office, and tells her, it’s just a formality. Bail was posted, so she’s now a free woman. She says it hasn’t been that long since she was disbarred; she knows the drill. He says he’s sure she remembers extenuating circumstances as well, and she says she appreciates the effort, but she wants one thing no defense attorney can give her – a drink.

At the MetroCourt with Maxie, Peter tells someone on the phone that every word he printed is the truth. It’s a first amendment issue, and as his attorney, they need to fight any attempt to suppress the story. He hangs up, and asks Maxie, what’s wrong? Is it the baby? She says both she and the baby are fine, and he says, then what? She says, nothing. She just can’t help thinking if it wasn’t for his big scoop… Never mind. He says if she wants to say something about the article, go ahead. She says if he hadn’t written it, Alexis wouldn’t have gone after Franco, and accidentally stab Dante.

Franco knocks on Scotty’s apartment door, and says, dad, open up. Obrecht grabs him and drags him into the apartment. She asks if he was followed, and he says, other than the usual villagers with torches and pitchforks, probably not. She says, good. It would complicate the situation if she were discovered. He asks when she’s going to get the voices out of his head like she promised? She says she’s working on it, and he says, so was Dr. Kirk, and he wound up with a knife in his chest. She says, with a man like that, it was bound to happen sooner or later. He says, Dante didn’t deserve a syringe in his sternum, and she asks how that’s relevant when the syringe was meant for him. Peter has convinced everyone he’s a homicidal lunatic. He says he noticed, and she says, they have to access Drew’s memories while there’s still time.

At the hospital, Anna tells Doc, not only were Dante and Obrecht being treated by Dr. Kirk, she has reason to believe Obrecht is no longer in WSB custody. She could be anywhere. Doc asks if she thinks Obrecht came back to Port Charles, and she says, it’s as good a place as any. She asks how Dante is, and he says, almost fully recovered. She says, thank God. It’s probably too soon… He says she wants to talk to him, and she says she feels that somehow he’s at the center of all this. Maybe if she talks to him… Elizabeth interrupts, saying, she wanted to let Anna know, her husband is lucky to be alive, no thanks to her son.

Laura tells Cyrus, they may be related, but they’re not family. He says, wow. And she accuses him of being cold. She says her daughter is in a coma she may never recover from, so forgive her, but where he’s concerned, she’s all out of warmth. He says she thinks he’s unfeeling, but if he were this unfeeling monster, would he keep this reminder of the family who turned their backs on him? He puts an envelope on the table.

Martin says he won’t remind Alexis that it was her drinking that got her into this mess. She thanks him for not reminding her, and he says, the state of her intoxication at the time of the alleged attack, as well as the intended victim’s history of violence, more than qualifies for extenuating circumstances. She should walk. Jordan comes in, and asks if his defense is really throwing his client under the bus as a hopeless drunk. Alexis asks if that isn’t what Jordan, and everyone else, is telling her that she is?

Maxie says she doesn’t blame Peter, but has he seen the social media reaction? People are scared to death. He asks if she thinks he shouldn’t have printed it, and she says, no… She doesn’t know… Maybe. If Franco becomes a danger, yes. Alexis is a level-headed person when she’s sober, and she tried to kill Franco. Part of her feels that if Peter had sat on the story, Dante wouldn’t be in the hospital. He says, Dante is fine, and knowing Franco’s history, who knows how many people were saved by him warning the public?

Franco asks where his dad is, and Obrecht says she and Franco have the opportunity to discuss what needs to be done, and Franco says, what needs to be done is he should be getting some body armor, now that Peter turned him back into Public Enemy #1. She says, he’s fine; Alexis missed. He says, and Dante saved his life. Explain that to him. Dante hates him. Why would that guy do that? Obrecht says, once a cop, always a cop. Who knows? The important thing now is regaining Drew’s memories. Her duplication of Kirk’s methodology is taking longer than she thought, but since Doc is treating him, why not turn that to their advantage? Maybe hypnosis will help him regain the memories, and they can find out why he’s hearing Peter’s voice. He says he’ll give it a shot, and she says, he needs to do it as soon as possible, before someone else comes after him who might not miss.

Doc tells Anna that he has to return some calls, and escapes. Anna says she understands Elizabeth is upset, but she doesn’t think it’s fair to blame Peter for Alexis’s actions. Alexis has been struggling with her drinking lately. Elizabeth agrees that Alexis’s judgement was impaired, but Peter decided to plaster Franco’s private medical information across The Invader. Anna says she respects Elizabeth, but what does she expect Anna to do? Peter is a grown man. He’s not going to listen to her. Elizabeth says the reason she wanted to talk to Anna was, she appreciates the wedding invitation – she loves Finn and Violet – but Peter declared open season on Franco. It’s no longer safe for them to attend. Anan says, Peter had an obvious error in judgment, but didn’t Peter save Franco’s life when Obrecht tried to have him killed? Elizabeth says, it makes you wonder who the real Peter is. The guy who rescued Franco, or the guy who put Franco’s life in danger to get ahead.

Sam tells Dante, her mother had been drinking when they heard the news about Franco, and was terrified Franco would come after her again. Sam wanted to confront Franco herself, so she came to GH. Her mother insisted on coming along, and kind of snapped. She disappeared, and found a loaded syringe. She lunged for Franco, but Dante jumped in front of him. Dante says, and here he is. She says, the syringe was loaded with lidocaine, and it’s really bad when it’s injected close to the heart. She’s sure Portia will fill him in on the details, but the good news is, he’s going be okay. He asks, what happened to Franco? and she says, her mom missed, so he’s fine, but she doesn’t get why he would risk own life to save Franco.

Anna tells Elizabeth that she’s sorry about the article, and Elizabeth says, Franco is experiencing none of the same symptoms he had before; they’re entirely different ones. Peter didn’t even bother to investigate. He just twisted facts that he never should have had access to, and now Franco is a target.

Franco tells Obrecht, he has a few problems. One is going to kill him, and one will make him crazy before it kills him. Obrecht says, normally, she wouldn’t recommend talk therapy, but Doc and his homicidal twin were also involved with the memory transfer experiment. That could be useful. Franco says, until she can help him, maybe Doc is their best hope; here goes nothing. He gets his coat, and she tells him, be careful. They have to assume Anna is working closely with Doc. If the scarecrow realizes that Drew’s memories could incriminate Peter, ask himself, who would Anna rather see go down? Him or her son? Franco leaves, and Obrecht sits and thinks.

Peter tells Maxie, he knows it was a very controversial decision. His legal department agrees with her, but it’s his obligation to tell the truth. She says, yes, but he could have thought of a little less of a ripper strikes again headline. He says, The Invader is also in the business of making money, and she tells him, she hated the man that Franco was, and has no interest in knowing the man he’s become. He asks, why defend him? and she says she knows what it’s like to defy people’s expectations of you. From what she’s seen, Franco is nothing but a devoted husband and stepdad. Peter says he’s sure Franco is – until the ticking time in his head goes off, and Franco becomes the city’s worst nightmare.

Laura asks Cyrus what it is, and he says it’s a photo from his childhood – yes, he had one. Now let him ask her if she has the courage to look at it, and risk seeing her sworn enemy in a different light. She looks at the photo, and says, Gordon. Of course (🍷). They look so happy. Cyrus says he’s the one making rabbit ears over his baby brother’s head. She says, making trouble behind Martin’s back; she’s not surprised. He says, this is his family, and Martin’s, and hers. They’re all each other’s flesh and blood. She puts the picture on a table.

Martin says, in case the news hasn’t graced Jordan’s desk already, Alexis already entered a plea of not guilty. Jordan says she’s happy to hear it, but she didn’t ask Alexis to come to her office as the Commissioner. She wants to speak to her as a friend. Alexis asks if Jordan warned Molly and TJ. She started to call them about 12 times, but she doesn’t suppose they want anything to do with her. Jordan says they’re worried about her; they all are. How is she? Alexis says she’s sober, and Jordan says, good. Alexis says she doesn’t like it. She didn’t like it when she looked in the mirror. She took a good long look, and didn’t recognize herself. She realized she’s used up her get-out-of-jail-free cards, and there’s not much left. Why doesn’t she just face what she’s done, and change her plea to guilty, and face the consequences.

Dante tells Sam, if he knew why, he’d tell her, and she says, Robert told her that Dante’s cop instincts kicked in. Dante says he doesn’t think he has any, but thanks for checking in on him. Anna comes by, and Dante says he’s surprised she doesn’t want to give him hell for saving Franco. She says she did want to ask him about that, and Sam says, she just did. Anna says, and? Dante flashes back to Obrecht clicking the pen, and saying, Franco is the key to Peter’s guilt. It’s up to Dante to protect him at all costs. Anna asks if there’s something Dante wants to tell them.

Dante says he’s the type that runs into trouble, when anyone with good sense would run away, and Anna says, that’s the definition of a hero. She’s glad he’s okay. He thanks her, and she says she’s sorry. He says, for what? and she says, for the reason Alexis got so… Sam says, crazy? and Anna says, excited. It was because of an article Peter ran on Franco. He says, it’s not her fault, and she thanks him for that. She says she just wanted to check in on him; they’ll catch up later. He says, he looks forward to it, and Anna tells Sam, it’s good to see her, and leaves. Sam guesses that leaves only one person to blame.

Martin tells Jordan, his client was speaking hypothetically; there’s no way she should plead guilty. Alexis says, right now it’s 70/30 against, but that could change. Jordan says, her concern isn’t Alexis’s plea right now. Her concern is that Alexis stop self-destructing. Jordan’s phone rings, and she says she’s on her way. She tells them, she needs to see someone in the squad room, and they can use her office for as long as they need to. She leaves, and Martin says, Alexis has been on a collision course with herself for some time. She asks why he’s acting like he knows her; he doesn’t. He’s just Valentin’s hired gun. He says he wouldn’t be so dismissive of Valentin; he posted her bail. She suggests he ask for a refund, and throw her back in jail where she belongs. Martin tells her, get over herself. Does she have any idea what some people would give to be reunited with their loved ones? And she’s throwing it away with both hands. It would serve her right if he threw her to the wolves. She asks why he doesn’t, and he says, unlike her, he’s proud to be an attorney, and he’s going to do his damnedest to defend her, whether she likes it or not.

Cyrus tells Laura, the photo is hers to borrow. She can’t keep it, but he can have it scanned if she likes. She says she knows what he’s doing; he’s incredibly transparent. He says, be all means, enlighten him. Explain his sinister ulterior motive. She says he knows how much family means to her, and he’s playing on that to get her to do more to get his mother home. He says he knows she feels she has no reason to help him, and blames him, however wrongly, for taking her daughter from her. She says, then why the nostalgia? and he says, it’s her father. She says, they never met, but he says, the connection is still there. There’s nothing she can do to change it. She says, there’s nothing she needs to do, and he says, true, but have another look at the picture. This is their family, before everything went wrong. She takes it from him, and he walks away. She looks at it again.

Peter tells Maxie, they’re so close to the wedding and welcoming their daughter into the world. He would never do anything to spoil that. She says she knows, and he asks if she ever thinks about how far they’ve come to get to this moment. She says, all the time. What hits her is how three years ago, they were strangers. She was married to Nathan, and in a moment, everything changed. Faison shot Nathan, and not long after that, Nathan died.

Elizabeth apologizes to Doc for barging in on his conversation with Anna, but he says, it’s quite all right. Franco comes into the hospital, and says, this is convenient. He was about to beg Doc for a session. Doc asks why he needs one, and Franco says he keeps hearing Peter’s voice in his head, talking to Drew, and he has a lot to say. Anna listens from around the corner.

Anna joins them, and says, sorry. She didn’t mean to… Franco’s been hearing voices? Are those the symptoms Elizabeth was talking about? Elizabeth says, yes. Not dark, homicidal impulses. Voices. Anna asks how Franco can be sure it’s Peter, and he says he knows Peter’s voice. Anna asks if it’s because of the tumor, and Elizabeth says, they thought so at first, but Dr. Kirk thought it was something else. Franco says, Kirk thought it didn’t have anything to do with the brain tumor; that it was Drew’s implanted memories.

Maxie tells Peter, when Nathan died, she wanted the world to stop, and there he was, refusing to let her give up. He was a real pain in the ass. He says, he knows what Nathan meant to her. He sees it in her every time she’s with James, and of course (🍷), he wonders if he’ll pale in comparison. Nathan was a genuine hero; someone you could look up to. He hopes he’ll never let Nathan down. Maxie says, she knows he won’t.

Martin approaches Laura at the MetroCourt, and asks where on earth she found the photo. She says, his brother, and he says, pulling at the old heartstrings? Pure manipulation, meant to spur her to action, in the hopes of her tracking down their poor mother. She says she told Cyrus that he was being ridiculously transparent. Martin says, utterly. So, did it work?

Cyrus goes to Jordan’s office, and says they need to talk. She says, if it’s about the search for his mother, there’s nothing she can do. And thankfully, nothing she has to do. There’s nothing he has on her. He says she’s broken free from him, so she can reclaim her integrity and the love of her husband. How is that working out for her?

Dante tells Sam, he’s not exactly happy that her mom plunged a syringe in his chest, but if anyone understands the desire to kill Franco, it’s the two of them. Sam says, true, but it wasn’t them; it was her mother. Her mother is starting to worry her – a lot. She’s inclined to take the kids and run as far and as fast as she can. Dante says she doesn’t mean that, but she says part of her does. He says he’s on to her. She came there last night and today, because she wants to make up for what her mom did. She tells him that he’s a detective. Don’t do that shrink stuff with her. She just wishes she could help her mom in a way she’d accept. They hear the guard telling someone they can’t go in; he knows who she is. Alexis walks in, and the guard says he’ll escort her out, but Dante says he’s got this. He has a bodyguard in case things get crazy. The guard closes the door, and Sam tells Alexis, she shouldn’t be there. Alexis says she knows. She’s practically begging to be arrested again. Sam asks if that’s what she wants, but Alexis says, no. She wanted to see if they were both okay.

Alexis says she just wanted to tell Dante how sorry she is, and how much she regrets what she did. Dante says he was cop for a long time. He knows good people, and decent people do stupid things. Things they wish they could take back. He’s not the one she has to make it up to. Sam says he doesn’t have to do this, but he says he wants to. He thinks they should fix it before it’s too late.

In a wig, glasses, and mask, Obrecht looks at the Patient Services Directory on the GH server. She puts in Dante’s name.

Anna asks about the time Franco was in Geneva, and he says he saw Dr. Kirk once. He had one consultation before Kirk ended up on the wrong side of a knife. She asks if Dante had left by then, and Franco says, Dante was a patient? That’s a pretty big coincidence. Doc says, probably, and Anna says, what about Obrecht? She was also a patient. Kirk decided to treat her after she was released from Steinmaur. Did he not know any of that? Franco says, as far has he knows, Obrecht is still in Steinmaur, and as far as he’s concerned, she can stay there. He thought she was his friend, and she tried to kill him. Can he have that session now? Elizabeth says she wants a conversation with him first. They step away, and she says she’s going to ask him a question he needs to answer honestly. He’s seen Obrecht, hasn’t he? Alive and well, and out of prison. Franco reluctantly says, yeah… and she asks how he could have seen Obrecht and not told her.

Drying her eyes, Maxie tells Peter, they need to stop having meaningful conversations for a while. It’s hard to tell if it’s regular hormones or third trimester hormones. She doesn’t want Dante to see her like this. He asks if she’s going to the hospital, and she says she owes it to Lulu to check on him. Peter says to give Dante his best, and she leaves. Peter makes a call, and says they have something he needs, and he needs it now.

Laura tells Martin, she wishes she’d never seen the picture. She didn’t need see her father with his happy little family. Martin says she’s part of that family too, should she so choose, even if she’s not in the photo. Laura says she’ll tell Martin what she told his brother. Martin says, their brother, and she says, to her, family is much more than flesh and blood. It’s more than DNA. It’s definitely something she won’t share with Cyrus. Martin asks if she’ll share it with him. Because if there’s the slightest chance, he needs to know what she’s doing to put mama back in the picture.

Jordan tells Cyrus, not that it’s any of his business, but… Wait. It isn’t any of his business. He says, never wait until tomorrow to atone for your mistakes, for tomorrow may never come. She says she can’t tell if it’s a veiled threat or he’s sincere. He says, in the past, he’s used the stick to get what he wants, but today he’s using the carrot. She asks what the carrot would be, and he says something she wants nearly as much as he wants his mother back.

Alexis says she appreciates what Dante is trying to do, but he says, don’t tell him; tell Sam. Alexis says she knows there’s nothing she can say. She’s burned every bridge, and she doesn’t think there’s any earth left to scorch. She tells Sam to stay and take care of her friend and herself. She’s just going to go. She leaves, and Sam thanks Dante for trying. He tells her not to give up on her mom.

Alexis gets in the elevator, and Sam follows her. Sam says, going down? and Alexis says, it certainly seems that way. Sam says, it’s her call.

Obrecht goes to Dante’s room, and congratulates him for saving Franco’s life. He tells her, he’d like to say it’s his pleasure, and she says, however, the mission is not yet completed. There is more they must do to stop Peter, and he’s the man to do it.

Dante says, Obrecht was exonerated, and there’s no smoking gun. There’s no evidence suggesting Peter framed her. He covered his tracks too well. She tells him, keep looking, and he says he plans to. He wants Maxie and James away from Peter as much as she does. He’s digging. Obrecht says, dig faster. Anna already suspects she’s out of prison, and mustn’t know she’s back in Port Charles, if they’re to stop this wedding. If Maxie walks down the aisle, she and Peter will be bound in ways that can never be undone. I guess Obrecht has never heard of divorce. She clicks the pen, and tells Dante he’s to do what he must to complete the mission. It’s up to him, but Peter and Maxie must never be allowed to say I do.

At the reception desk, Maxie asks what room Dante is in. Because this is GH, where there are no visiting hours, and anyone can just wander around where and when they feel like it.

Peter thanks a man for meeting him at the MetroCourt, and the man says he wishes all of his clients were as discerning as Peter. He shows Peter a set of wedding rings, saying they’re the ones Peter selected. Do they speak to him? Peter says, fluently. They say, ‘til death do us part.

Maxie goes to Dante’s room. She finds him sleeping, and says she’s not going to wake him. She just wants him to know how happy she is he’s okay. Lulu really needs him, and she needs him too, as her friend; her once and hopefully future bestie-in-law. She needs him at the wedding. She kisses his forehead, and Obrecht looks in through the window.

Laura tells Martin, Cyrus’s attempt at manipulation backfired. All he did was remind her of what was taken from her. Martin says, Lulu, and she says, of course (🍷); he understands. On the other hand, she understands him to be a completely innocent bystander. He asks what she’s saying. She won’t help Cyrus, but she’ll help him? He’s completely comfortable with that. She laughs, and says, Florence is his mother too, and neither one of them deserves to get caught up in this mess. She can’t make any promises, but she’ll do what she can to bring his mother back to him.

Sam and Alexis go into a room where there are chairs placed in circle. Alexis says she remembers this feeling; the feeling of not wanting to be there, and desperately wanting a drink. She doesn’t think she can do this. She’s sorry. Sam asks if she actually has not hit rock bottom yet. How many people does she have to hurt before she realizes she needs help?

Jordan tells Cyrus, she can’t just snap her fingers and get his mom back. He tells her to consider it a hostage negotiation. Let Jason know, if he returns Cyrus’s mother, Cyrus will see that Taggert goes free.

Franco tells Elizabeth, here’s the skinny. Obrecht was exonerated, and she had nothing to do with trying to kill him. Elizabeth says, Obrecht told him so, and he believed her. He says, of course (🍷) not, but there’s proof. The WSB believed her and released her. They’ve been working hard to find who framed her, and she’s been really helpful to him since Kirk died. Elizabeth asks when he’s going to learn that Obrecht is only out for Obrecht. If she’s helping him, he has to ask himself, what’s in it for her? They’ll deal with Drew’s memories later, but right now, they need to focus on treating the tumor and saving his life.

Anna tells Doc, first they find out, Franco was referred to Kirk as a patient. Then the find out Dante was also his patient. Doc says, then Obrecht. She asks, what’s the common denominator? and he takes it that there wasn’t enough unredacted in the files for her to crosscheck. She says, no. She does know that Obrecht is free, Dante is still suffering from PTSD… He says, and Franco is hearing Peter’s voice in his head. She says, they’re getting closer to understanding how it all fits together. They just have to keep looking. He says, no matter where it leads? and she repeats, no matter where it leads

Tomorrow, Portia asks why Trina is buttering her up, Maxie asks Dante if he can forgive Peter, Laura asks if she and Carly can’t compromise, and Jason says Cyrus’s fear is their leverage.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Rounding out the week, is a little gem from February 26th, 2016. Please God, let them start filming new episodes soon. Or at least show me what I want to see – the Scorpios in the 90s, and Faison as PK Sinclair. So what if I was the only one who loved Casey the alien?

Nathan was in the hospital, with Maxie, Obrecht, and Nina at his bedside. He told them that he had to get back to work. At the station, Paul gave an interview to a reporter, saying he had broken up an extensive crime ring. He’d gotten an arms shipment off the street, and he criminals responsible had been rounded up. Port Charles was now a safer place. Jordan mumbled, too bad about the bloodshed. Andre told Sonny and Carly that he’d admitted Morgan for a psychiatric evaluation; it was better than the alternative, which was Morgan being arrested. His behavior wasn’t rational. Carly said she didn’t understand. Morgan wasn’t a danger to himself or others. Apparently, she was wrong, since Morgan was on the roof, and about to jump. Ava asked Griff if he’d saved her daughter, and Kiki appeared on the roof with Morgan in a hospital gown.

Obrecht, Nina, and Maxie all insisted that Nathan stay at the hospital. When Obrecht and Nina left, he told Maxie, at least they weren’t at each other’s throats. Maxie asked if that had been his master plan; act like he was leaving, so his mother and sister would team up. Paul told the reporter, no more questions, and Jordan told him that he was feeding the press a bunch of bull so he’d look like hero and save his butt. Paul told her to put aside her ego, but she said he came to her city to make a bust without notifying the local authorities. He said his superiors at the Federal Justice Department didn’t trust the PCPD, which both Jordan and Anna resented. Paul said Dante’s father was a mob boss, but Jordan said Dante was an excellent officer. Paul thought she was having a hard time because she hadn’t been in the loop with a Federal investigation. Jordan told him that it was a power play on his part, and he’d been reckless. One of her detectives was in the hospital, and an innocent woman was fighting for her life. She suggested that if he wanted to be a hero, finish the job. The shipment had been labeled to go to Ava’s gallery, and she wondered why Ava was free. Anna seconded that. Morgan told Kiki that he’d thought she was in surgery, and hugged her. They both stood on the ledge of the roof, and he said he was worried he’d messed up and couldn’t make it right. He was sorry he’d hurt her again. She started bleeding, and told him it hurt. He held her, and came away with a bullet in his hand. She asked if he’d done that to her. Griff told Ava that Kiki was in recovery, and going to ICU. He’d removed the bullet, and there was no further damage to her spinal cord, but her she might have limited mobility in the future. Carly told Sonny that Morgan was out of control, and had been off of his meds. They should have committed him, rather than letting him figure it out on his own. When someone was in the throes of a manic episode, it was impossible for them to make their own decisions. They let Morgan handle things, and Kiki had gotten shot. Andre said the main thing was Morgan being willing to get help. He had a chronic disorder, but it could be managed. They’d learn from their mistakes. They’d given him too much autonomy. Andre said he’d adjust Morgan’s medication, and could give him mandatory blood tests to prove he was taking them. He also needed more therapy. Carly asked, what if Morgan refused? and Andre said they’d tell him, if he wouldn’t play by the rules, he needed to understand he’d wind up in jail. Sonny said he had no problem with Morgan being treated, but had a problem with threatening him with prison. Andre said it was all they had.

Kiki asked Morgan how it happened, and he said she wasn’t supposed to be there. She said he’d left her a voicemail saying he needed help; that he was sick. Morgan said no one could help him. Kiki had said she never wanted to see him again after catching him with Darby. Kiki said the only way was to end it, and they’d do it together. She took his hand. Paul told Jordan that he’d deal with Ava in his own time, and in his own way. Jordan asked, why wait? and Paul said Jordan was feeling left out. She said he’d blown open the case on her doorstep, and she had every right to be involved. Anna said Jordan had a valid point. Why had he let Ava go? Jordan said she was getting a judge to sign off on a warrant for Ava’s arrest. She had the feeling there was more to the story than he was letting her know. She thought Ava would spill her guts because she’d be afraid of going to Pentenville. Paul said the case was bigger than the local PCPD could handle, and Jordan couldn’t arrest Ava. Jordan said, watch her. Griff told Ava it was too soon to give a long-term prognosis. Kiki was young, healthy, and strong, and getting care from excellent professionals. She had a lot of people who cared for her. He told Ava to have faith in Kiki, and she would reward it. Nina told Obrecht that she hired a private security bodyguard for Nathan. Obrecht saw Franco hugging Ava, and said Franco was the one who needed Nina’s attention. When Andre was gone, Sonny told Carly that they all had to be on the same page; united to help Morgan. Carly said she was terrified for Morgan. He wasn’t able to handle his anger, and now someone they care about was fighting for their life because of guns. Sonny said they weren’t his, and Carly said she’d always accepted his business, and that violence was a part of it. She’d looked at it like it was normal, when it was anything but. She had Kiki’s blood on her hands, and could wash it off, but it wouldn’t change a damn thing. Andre chastised a nurse for letting Morgan slip away, then overheard Obrecht say she wanted a full accounting of her patients. An orderly had spotted someone on the roof. Andre hurried to get there. Kiki told Morgan that he didn’t have to be afraid. He wouldn’t feel bad anymore. It would end all his pain – and hers. They’d be together. He said he wanted that, and took her hand. She asked if he was ready, and put her foot out in the air. Morgan said he was ready. Michael came onto the roof, and asked Morgan, ready for what? Maxie told Nathan she hoped he hadn’t soured on weddings; they had one more to go. He asked what he missed, and if Franco had proposed to Nina. Maxie said not that she knew of, and he said, so who? and Maxie asked him to marry her.

Franco told Ava that doctors always give the worst case scenario, so expectations were lower. Then when a patient fully recovered, it would seem even better. Nina joined them, and gave Ava the jewelry Kiki had been wearing. Since Kiki had said it was a gift from Ava, Nina thought she’d want it for safekeeping. Ava saw Paul, flew across the room, and pushed him, saying she was going to kill him. In the locker room, Carly washed her hands while flashing back to what happened; kneeling next to Kiki, bleeding on the pier, and Carly telling her it would be okay. She scrubbed relentlessly at her hands. Michael said they’d been looking for Morgan, and asked what he was doing on the ledge. Kiki said, don’t tell him, and Morgan said he needed time alone. Michael said Morgan was talking to someone, and Morgan said Kiki was there. Michael told him that she wasn’t; she was downstairs having surgery. Morgan suddenly realized there was no Kiki there, and Michael said the procedure would be over soon. They’d wait together, and Morgan could see her afterward. Morgan said he liked it there; it was peaceful. Michael said he’d wait there too, but Morgan said he wanted to be alone. He spread out his arms, and Michael asked what he was doing. Morgan said, something he should have done long ago. He wanted to save everyone grief. He was going to kill himself.

Griff found Carly, scrubbing her hands raw, and turned the water off. He asked if she was all right, and she said, no. Andre came out on the roof, and asked Morgan why he wanted to die. Morgan said every day it got worse, and he wanted to stop hurting people. Andre asked him, be more specific. If he committed suicide, people would want to know why; his mother and father, and his sisters and brothers. He’d never said that before. Why now? Morgan said the pills were supposed to fix things, but hadn’t. Andre said it was more complicated than that, and Morgan said he and Kiki had been on a date. Kiki wanted to have sex, but he couldn’t, so he went off the pills to prove he was a man and had a purpose. He did stupid things; he’d had sex with Darby and lost his job. When Kiki found out, he fell down a hole. He heard guns were going through Sonny’s territory, and thought he could help his dad, prove he was a man, and get out of the hole, but he screwed everything up. Andre said it was a lot to think about, and told Morgan to think about a time before he was in the hole; a time when he was happy. Morgan said, when his little sister was there, and Andre told him, it wasn’t that long ago. Andre suggested he keep talking, and let Andre help him climb out. Morgan asked, why? So he kept hurting people? He didn’t get it. Sonny joined them, and said he got it. He knew it was possible to fight your way out of the hole.

Maxie said she wanted a future with Nathan, and asked if he was going to make an honest woman of her. He said he’d never loved her more. Ava beat her fists against Paul, and Franco broke it up, saying it wasn’t the time or place. Paul told Ava, they had business to discuss, but she said he daughter needed her. He said she wouldn’t do Kiki any good in Pentenville, and they went somewhere private. Griff bandaged Carly’s hands, and said he was aware her son was having a difficult time. She said that was an understatement, and asked how Kiki was. Griff said she made it through surgery, and it was a good start. Carly said he was being discreet, like he’d been with Sonny, when he knew Sonny could walk. The reason Sonny had wanted to hide it was to surprise his enemy. How was first do no harm working for him? Anna told Jordan that Paul didn’t seem too keen on arresting Ava, and Jordan said Anna knew more than her, since she’d been conspiring with him. Anna said she had no idea about the shipment until an hour before it happened. It was last minute, and a lot didn’t add up. Jordan said Ava could fill in the blanks, and they could nail Paul and Carrrlos. Anna said she couldn’t, because they weren’t the only ones who’d committed a crime. Jordan would have to arrest her too. Ava said Paul had blackmailed her into arms dealing, and he said Jordan was preparing to arrest Ava, but he’d stopped her. Ava said if she went down, she would take Paul with her. Morgan said he wanted everyone to go, but Sonny said he loved Morgan, and was wrong to lie. Morgan said he’d done everything wrong, and hurt Kiki, and he couldn’t anymore. No one could help him. Sonny said he knew what Morgan was going through, and that he felt dead inside. Sonny was like that for a long time. He’d wanted to end his life, and not hurt anyone else. He was living proof it didn’t last, and Morgan could find a way out. Morgan said he didn’t want to hurt his family, and Sonny got on the ledge with him, saying they’d jump together. Nathan said Maxie hadn’t been too keen on the marriage thing, and asked if it was because she was worried about him dying. He’d be there the day she decided she really wanted to get married. She was worth getting it right. Jordan told Anna, it had been months of dancing around and information being parceled out to her. Anna said Paul knew about her crime, the truth would come out, and Jordan would be forced to arrest her. Carrrlos’s trial would go cold, and neither one of them would be brought to justice for Duke. She needed time. After that, Jordan would have more people to arrest than she knew what to do with. Jordan said Paul was smart, and the longer she waited, the more time he’d have to cover it up. Anna said she was asking as a friend, and wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t vital. Jordan said she’d give Anna a few weeks, and she’d better not regret it. Every friendship had its limits, including theirs. Griff told Carly that he’d heard about the chaos, and realized he’d played a role in it. He wondered if it could have been prevented if he’d refused to participate in Sonny’s lie. He thought it was his duty to keep Sonny’s confidence, and couldn’t unmake his choice, but had to learn to live with the consequences. Carly said a lot of people were to blame, including her, but not Griff. Griff’s phone dinged, and he said Kiki was being moved to ICU. For the record, he saw Carly as a woman struggling to do what was right for her family, and it couldn’t be easy given Sonny’s line of business. If it was worth the fight, she shouldn’t stop.

Morgan said Sonny had no reason to kill himself, but Sonny said if he couldn’t keep Morgan from falling victim to a condition they shared, he’d have failed as a father. He would die of a broken heart. Either they both jumped, or they both went back to spend time with their family and friends. Morgan nodded, and took Sonny’s hand. Sonny helped him down, and told Morgan that he’d be okay.

Paul said Ava didn’t need to threaten him; they were on the same side. Griff found Ava, and told her Kiki was going to ICU. Ava told Paul she didn’t care what he did; just take care of it. He owed it to her daughter. Franco watched Kiki through the room window. Nina told him that Kiki was going to be okay, and Ava went in to see Kiki. Maxie told Nathan that she was relieved he wasn’t hurt worse, and was glad their engagement story wasn’t going to involve her proposing to him on drab hospital linens. He said when he proposed, it was going to be bootiful, and she said the painkillers were making him dopey. She told him that she loved him, and he drifted off to sleep. Paul told Jordan that he wanted to talk to her, but she said it would have to wait. She had a warrant for Ava’s arrest, and was going to serve it now. Paul asked to see it, and when she handed it to him, he ripped it up. She said, what the hell? and he handed her some paperwork. He said it was Ava’s immunity deal. She’d been cooperating with the Justice Department the whole time; she can’t be touched. Ava told Kiki that she was sorry she was late, but she was there now and not going anywhere. When Kiki woke up, her mom was going to be there. Ava sang All Through the Night to Kiki, and we saw Franco and Nina join hands and leave. As Ava continued to sing, Anna watched her through the window, while Griff watched Anna. Carly, Sonny, and Michael watched as Andre took Morgan away.

The mix of old-school Broadway with the syncopated urgency of rap and hip-hop, sprinklings of jazz, R&B and even Beatles-esque pop makes this one of the most innovative musical scores in decades, sampling from a wide range of sources that include Rodgers and Hammerstein, Biggie Smalls, Gilbert and Sullivan, Grandmaster Flash and Mobb Deep.

📌 Putting a Pin In It…

Enjoy your weekend, but try not to tear down any statues. Remember, historical figures made mistakes too – dare I say there isn’t a person who hasn’t? Alexander Hamilton might not have thrown away his shot, but he also gave us the party system (gee, thanks), cheated on his wife, and had an ego the size of Rhode Island. Our forefathers might have had slaves, but John Adams did try to abolish slavery when the Declaration of Independence was written. Edward Rutledge (South Carolina) threatened to bury the Declaration (it had to be a unanimous vote) if it was included. If that had happened, we might still have slavery, and be paying taxes to King George the Whatever, and there would be no Starbuck’s because we’d be drinking tea. So stay safe, stay empathetic, and stay keeping things in perspective.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Survey says, today’s GH Flashback is from September 22nd, 2011.

Dante (who practically looked like an infant) proposed to old Lulu. At first, I didn’t realize it was Lulu, and for a moment, wondered who else Dante proposed to. James Franco playing Franco (which is endlessly amusing to me) spied on Maxie and Spinelli in the park, as they planned Sam and Jason’s wedding. Maxie said everything could be fixed with a few clicks on the Jackal’s computer board. Jason showed up at Sam’s while she was trying on her dress, and said he’d broken the rule by seeing her in it. She said there were so many rules, she didn’t think she could go through with it. At the hospital, Robin told Patrick they had a mandatory engagement tomorrow – Sam and Jason’s wedding – but Patrick said they weren’t going.

Sam said it wasn’t that she didn’t want to marry Jason, but he’d just gotten out of the hospital. She wanted to dance right then and there with him, even though he hated dancing, but there was a knock at the door. Dante told Lulu that he was a work in progress (ugh), but he was still a good investment, and he wanted them to invest in each other and share a future. Being with her made him feel like being a better man. Lulu said he’d gone from it being over to shut up and marry me without a break, and she needed to breathe and think. Johnny (Zacchara) asked his father Anthony (Bruce Weitz) what he had on Tracy, but Anthony said, a gentleman doesn’t kiss and tell. After Anthony left, Johnny got on the phone with henchman Cole, and said he had a job for him.

Robin told Patrick that they’d gotten married partly because of Jason, and she was still Jason’s friend. Patrick didn’t want her risking her life being around Sonny, but she said she’d go alone. A courier picked up Sam’s dress because Maxie didn’t trust her with it, and Sam told Jason, the wedding was out of control. Jason suggested she just say no to Maxie, but Sam didn’t want to hurt Maxie’s feelings. She told him, besides Maxie, everyone had their own ideas for the wedding, including Spinelli, her mom, and her sisters. She didn’t even know what kind of flowers or reception they were going to have, but guaranteed it would be over-the-top. She said she didn’t need flowers, a ceremony, or the complications that came with it. Jason told her to forget what everybody else wanted, and focus on what they wanted. All that mattered was that they loved each other. Sam said she had a rock Molly had given her to keep her grounded, and a love nut; what else did she need? Jason took her hand, and said, come on.

Jason and Sam got on his bike, and ended up at a closed Chinese restaurant. The owner Mr. Li and his grandson Robert let them in anyway, and they confessed they were running from their wedding. Lulu went to see a too skinny Maxie at Crimson for advice, while Dante went to see Lucky (the Jonathan Jackson version). He told Lucky about proposing to Lulu, and how she was hesitant. Lucky asked if Dante was sure he wanted be part of this family. Sam explained to Robert that her head was spinning; she didn’t even know if she wanted roses or lilies. Robert’s grandmother Mrs. Yi (who only spoke Chinese, so Robert had to translate) said lilies should be her flower, since they represented unity in spirit and 100 years of love.  She and her husband were halfway there, having been married 50 years. Sam said their problem wasn’t commitment, but the ceremony, and Jason said if it was up to him, he’d marry Sam right there. Robert said they could do that, since he was ordained. Jason pulled out the marriage license that he just happened to have with him. Mrs. Yi said fate had brought them there, and Sam agreed.

Dante pumped Lucky for insight into Lulu, but Lucky said the Spencers were an unpredictable bunch. He told Dante not to play it safe and run from his feelings. They should love the people they were given in life while they had the chance. Anthony went to the hospital where Lisa was in a coma. (Lisa had injected herself with drain cleaner during a struggle with Patrick in June 2011.) Anthony told the doctor that he had power of attorney, and gave the hospital a lot of money. He hoped his generosity counted for something. He gave the doctor a check, and even though the doctor said the protocol was still in the early stages, and thought Anthony should get a second opinion, Anthony said he trusted the doctor, and to shoot her up. Patrick told Robin that she should respect his feelings toward Sonny, the same way he respected hers for Jason. Robin suggested they go to the wedding and get a hotel room for the night, making it a second honeymoon. Patrick said she was playing dirty, but agreed, and told her that they couldn’t let anyone come between them. Johnny got together with Cole, and told Cole to offload a boat containing drugs at the harbor. He was going to put them in Sonny’s coffee warehouse, and then give an anonymous tip to the cops. Cole worried that Sonny would figure out it was Johnny, but Johnny said there would be no proof; just make sure the drugs were unloaded. When Sonny was toasting the happy couple, Johnny would be taking him down.

At the restaurant, Robert took Sam and Jason to the back terrace, where it was romantic and lit by Chinese lanterns. Mrs. Li said something to Sam, and Robert said, loosely translated, it was that Sam’s shoes rocked. (Maxie had meant to send Sam a pair of blue shoes, but a pair of leopard boots had come instead, which Sam insisted on wearing.) Robert said Jason stood under the symbol of the dragon, and Sam stood under the symbol of the phoenix, and the union of the dragon and phoenix symbolized the union of the bride and groom. The dragon stood for strength; he scared away evil spirits, protected the innocent, and blessed the house with safety. The phoenix was the goddess of winged creatures, and brought luck, success, and prosperity, turning bad luck to good. Together, they were the ultimate sides of yin and yang, male and female, strength and beauty. Alone, they brought happiness, but together brought double happiness. Jason had his grandmother’s ring that she had worn for over 50 years. His grandfather had given it to him to give to Sam. Sam had a ring that had belonged to Jason’s father, who wanted him to have it. His parents had a love that lasted a lifetime, and so would theirs. They exchanged rings, and said their vows. Mrs. Li gave them glasses of red wine, and they drank it, doing that twisty thing with their arms. Robert said red was the color of happiness, and tonight, they were joined in happiness. Drinking the wine and honey would make life sweet and rich. From that moment forward, they were one world; earth, water, air, and fire together for all eternity. He pronounced them husband and wife. I’m not big with the romance stuff, but this was actually kind of cool.

Spinelli managed to find some wedding music for Maxie. Dante told Lucky that the moment he met Lulu, he was hooked; there was no one else like her. Lucky suggested he be patient, and let her get used to the idea. Johnny told Cole that his father knew nothing about what was going on, and while Sonny was distracted, it was perfect time to make a move. Unbeknownst to Johnny, Anthony was listening in. Sam gave Mrs. Li her leopard boots, which Mrs. Li said were too cool to refuse, and wondered what they were going to tell Maxie.

Johnny said everything was going down tomorrow night. Jason told Sam they would tell Maxie tomorrow night, and they kissed. Franco set up some Tinker Toys on the statues at the church, and said, see you tomorrow. Okay, they were really cameras, but they looked like Tinker Toys.

That’s the trouble with your whole MTV, microwave dinner generation. You want it all now. You think you deserve it just because you want it? It doesn’t work like that. You have to earn it, you have to take it, you have to make it yours. but before you do that, Guy, you need to decide what it is you really want. – Buddy (Kevin Spacey), Swimming with Sharks

Life is painful and messed up. It gets complicated at the worst of times, and sometimes you have no idea where to go or what to do. Lots of times people just let themselves get lost, dropping into a wide open, huge abyss. But that’s why we have to keep trying. We have to push through all that hurts us, work past all our memories that are haunting us. Sometimes the things that hurt us are the things that make us strongest. A life without experience, in my opinion, is no life at all. And that’s why I tell everyone that, even when it hurts, never stop yourself from living. – Alysha Speer

The most fundamental aggression to ourselves, the most fundamental harm we can do to ourselves, is to remain ignorant by not having the courage and the respect to look at ourselves honestly and gently.Pema Chödrön

Walk with the dreamers, the believers, the courageous, the cheerful, the planners, the doers, the successful people with their heads in the clouds and their feet on the ground. Let their spirit ignite a fire within you to leave this world better than when you found it. – Wilferd Peterson

Take wrong turns. Talk to strangers. Open unmarked doors. And if you see a group of people in a field, go find out what they are doing. Do things without always knowing how they’ll turn out. You’re curious and smart and bored, and all you see is the choice between working hard and slacking off. There are so many adventures that you miss because you’re waiting to think of a plan. To find them, look for tiny interesting choices. And remember that you are always making up the future as you go!Randall Munroe

Sometimes when you’re writing about something, it turns into something else. Like what happened with that journalist in A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood. In working on a piece about what’s going on in the entertainment world, i.e. apologies and cancelations, I’ve learned a great deal. Not about myself – I have that one pretty much down – but about other perspectives. Woken long ago, my horizons are broadening. Coming soon, but for today, stay safe, stay engaged, and stay open to changing direction.

September 30, 2019 – Nelle Has a Great Day, Last Charter Of the Season, Restaurant Extraordinaire, Goodbye Shiloh, Hello Martin, an Interview, a Move & Tuesday For Chairmen

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Yep. I missed it. I was listening though. The main takeaways are, Willow went to visit Harmony, and Nelle is in the park doing clean-up detail, where she ran into Josslyn. Nelle tells the guard that Josslyn was the child she donated a kidney to, and is given leeway to talk to her.

Michael goes in to see Carly, who tells him, the newest Corinthos is arriving ahead of schedule. He’s glad he got there in time, and she tells him to wish her luck. She needs all she can get. She’s nervous about the C-section. Michael wonders why she’s having one, and she says, it’s mandatory for the baby. He asks, why? and Sonny says he’ll let Jason tell Michael. Michael says he knows Carly can handle it, and Jason says, they’ve got this. They go out in the hallway, and the nurse says it’s time to get prepped. Carly says, whether they’re ready or not.

At the park for a run, Kristina tells Alexis that she brought up Shiloh in group therapy. She talked about how much she liked him at first, to the point she was ready to follow him anywhere. Until they helped her. Alexis says, a lot of people love her, and will do anything to help her, and Kristina says she’s lucky to have them – and Willow. When Willow shared her story, it made Kristina see Shiloh for the predator he is. It made her wake up. Alexis says she’s glad, and Kristina says she’s trying to do the same in group, sharing her truths to help someone who’s going down the same road. She’s glad Shiloh is dead, but glad he lived long enough for her to face him down in court, and prove he doesn’t control her. Alexis says Kristina is making good progress. She’s glad it’s over for her, and Kristina says, it is and isn’t. She’s still working though her regrets, especially the Pledge. She’d said she saw Alexis deliberately run down Kiefer, when she was so out of it, she didn’t even remember being there, and his death was completely an accident. Kendra – remember her? – sees them, and Alexis introduces her. Kristina says Kendra looks familiar. Have they met before?

Jordan thanks Sam for coming, and Sam says Jordan didn’t give her a choice. Jordan says new information has come to light on Sam’s involvement with Shiloh’s death. Sam says Shiloh attacked Jason with a gaffing stick, and she grabbed whatever she could find; the signal flare. She said it all in her statement, and doesn’t know why she’s there. Shiloh kidnapped Wiley, assaulted Dev, and attempted to assault her. He also confessed to the murder of his father. Jordan says there’s nothing to corroborate him murdering his father; the rest can be verified. Sam ask if Jordan is going to continue with questioning, and Jordan says, yes. Sam says, then she’s not saying anything else without her lawyer. Jordan tells her, call Diane then. They sooner they’re done, the better for everyone involved, especially Sam.

Josslyn says it doesn’t appear Nelle has progressed, but Nelle tells Josslyn that she’s a model inmate, and is on work detail. Josslyn says, reach for the stars, and Nelle says she made a lot of memories with Michael in the park. Josslyn asks if the stale prison air isn’t cutting it. Nelle says, it’s temporary. Soon, them running into each other will feel normal. Josslyn asks if Nelle is expecting her to be simpatico. Nelle tried t to murder her brother. She can stay in Pentenville for the rest of her miserable life. Nelle says prison has actually given her time to reflect. There’s one thing she’s wanted to tell Josslyn for a long time – she forgives her.

In a mask and scrubs, Sonny asks if Carly is ready. She says she doesn’t have a choice. The baby is on its own time table. Sonny can’t wait to meet the baby. He tells Carly that she looks beautiful, and Carly says they’ll see how long that lasts. He asks how she’s feeling, and she says she can’t feel anything. Sonny says, good; she’s not in pain. They’ll get through this, okay? Carly says, okay. Dr. Johannsson is introduced to her, and he says he’s going to assist with the delivery. He’ll keep the area of the spine sterile, and put dressing on it before surgery is done. Carly tells Sonny, let’s do this. Let’s meet our baby.

Kendra tells Kristina, people say that all the time. She guesses she has one of those faces. Alexis says Kristina works at Charlie’s, and Kendra says that’s probably it. She was hooked on the place from the first time she met Alexis. Alexis explains that Kendra is the trainer making her do this, and Kristina says she’s having a good effect. Is Alexis learning a lot? Alexis says. Kendra is helping her focus on this, and her new therapist – did she mention that she has a new one? – is helping her work on that. She’s focused on good relationships. Kristina asks if Alexis’s relationship with Neil falls on the healthy side of the spectrum. Alexis asks Kendra to give them a minute, and Kendra goes to the car to get her backpack. Alexis says her relationship with Kristina takes precedence over her relationship with Neil. If Kristina has a problem with it, say so, and she’ll put an end to it.

Josslyn tells Nelle to save her forgiveness. She doesn’t want it. She’ll never forgive Nelle for what Nelle did to her family. Nelle apologizes for being insensitive. Josslyn is still grieving Oscar. Josslyn says Nelle is such a bitch. She hopes Nelle chokes on her fake sympathy. Nelle says she didn’t mean to anger Josslyn. Josslyn says the only reason she’s not slapping Nelle’s lying face is because the guard is there, and she doesn’t want to risk Nelle being mistaken for being a victim. Josslyn tells the guard that Nelle is making her uncomfortable. Nelle says she hopes Josslyn finds more compassion the next time they meet.

Jason tells Michael that the baby has spina bifida, but it’s not the worst case, and treatable with surgery. Michael asks how it’s going to effect the baby, but Jason says they won’t know until after the surgery. Michael wonders why his parents didn’t say anything, and Jason tells him there was no point in worrying them, since there’s nothing they can do. He tells Michael not to worry. They’ll closely monitor the baby’s delivery, and his little brother or sister will have the best possible care. Sam calls, and Jason asks if she’s still at GH. She says, no. Jordan summoned her to the PCPD, saying they have new information about her role in Shiloh’s death. He tells her, sit tight. He’ll call Diane to meet her there. He tells Michael that he has to run. Apparently, there are more questions about Shiloh’s death. Let him know when the baby is born, and he’ll be back as soon as he can. Michael says he’ll be there for them.

Dr. Navarro tells Carly that she Just made the incision in Carly’s abdomen. How is she doing? Carly says, fine. She’s not feeling anything. How is it going on the doctor’s end? Dr. Navarro laughs, and says Carly is doing an incredible job. So is the baby. They’re going to see the baby’s face in a few minutes.

Kristina says she told Alexis that she needed time to process. Neil has helped so much, and if it makes Alexis happy, Kristina is happy for her. They exchange I love yous, and hug. Kendra comes back, and Kristina says she’ll let them get to work. She tells Kendra that it was nice to meet her, and not to go easy on Alexis. Kendra says she won’t. Kristina leaves, and Kendra say she caught the nice mother/daughter hug. Alexis says Kendra has no idea how far she’s clawed to get there. Kendra says, there’s nowhere to go but up, right? And she’s here to help Alexis do it.

Sam says she was assured the case was closed, but Jordan says they have new evidence. A nurse came forward who overheard a conversation between Sam and Jason. She reads from Sheri’s statement that Sam kept thinking about the horror Shiloh put her sister through, and Willow, Wiley, and herself. She wanted to make sure he never hurt anyone again. Did she shoot Shiloh to defend Jason, or to make sure he’d never hurt anyone again?

Harmon tells Willow, it sounds like a violent ending. Shiloh holding Sam and Wiley hostage, and threatening Jason. She’s glad no one else was hurt. It’s for the best. Shiloh got what he deserved. Willow says it helps that there must have been some sliver of conscience, since Shiloh let Dev and Wiley go. Harmony says at one time, she believed in that man, with her whole heart and soul. He was everything to her, but she let Shiloh and his vision consume her to the point that she betrayed Willow and Willow’s father. Willow says Shiloh manipulated her, and so many others. There’s one person he never hurt, Harmony’s grandson. Wiley is safe now.

Nelle walks into a visiting room, and says, it’s good to finally meet face to face. Has he decided to take her case? It’s Tad the Cad, now Martin Gray, and looking like Colonel Sanders. He says, assume nothing, and you’ll never be disappointed.

Josslyn runs into the hospital, and asks Michael where their mom is. He says, she’s having a C-section. Josslyn says, sorry she’s flustered. He’ll never guess who she saw in the park. She doesn’t give him a chance to guess, and says, Nelle. She was on work detail, and made a big deal about how she saved Josslyn’s life. Michael says he’s so sorry, and Josslyn says, please. She’s so over feeling obligated or grateful. Nelle can’t manipulate her anymore, even though she tries every chance she gets. She mentioned Michael, and Josslyn told her that he’d moved on to an amazing, beautiful new girlfriend. Nelle tried to hide it, but Josslyn could tell she was pissed. Nelle tried get back at her, offering fake sympathy about Oscar. Just hearing Oscar’s name come out of Nelle’s mouth, it took everything Josslyn had not to slap her. The guard was there, so she didn’t want to take the risk, but she turned Nelle’s limitations to her advantage. Michael asks how she turned a confrontation with his lunatic ex into a business strategy, and Josslyn says she told the guard that the prisoner was making her uncomfortable, so Nelle was moved along. Michael says, genius move. She says that’s why it took her so long to get there. She hopes the baby is born soon. She can’t wait to meet them. Michael says him too.

Sonny tells Carly that she’s doing great. She says she’s trying, and the doctor says the baby is almost there. We hear crying, and see the biggest newborn ever. Dr. Navarro says, it’s a baby girl. Sonny says, she looks precious, but I’m not even sure that’s a real baby.

Kendra tells Alexis that she looks fantastic. How does she feel? Alexis says, everything hurts, and she’s having trouble sleeping. Kendra says, exercise should have the opposite effect, and Alexis says she spends the night worrying, mostly about her children, but she feels better and has more energy. Kendra says it’s nice hearing when her clients notice a change in their body and mind. Alexis thanks Kendra, but Kendra says she’s doing all the hard work. Alexis says she’s trying to do what’s good for her, and give her children space. Kendra asks how that’s working, and Alexis says she’s not going to lie. She has trouble staying in her own life. She has the urge to hover, but she’s resisting it. Kendra wants to introduce Alexis to a new component toward a better life, and Alexis says, no more squats, but Kendra takes a big jar out of her backpack.

Diane tells Jordan that she’s more surprised than concerned that her client was called back in for questioning for the second time in less than twelve hours because of hearsay. Jordan says, the nurse heard Sam say that she stopped to consider her actions. She knew what she was doing when she shot Shiloh in the back. It wasn’t self-defense, but payback. Diane asks if she presented this to the DA. Jordan doesn’t say anything, and Diane says, of course not. Robert isn’t going to listen to an unsupported allegation. A nurse who thinks she heard a conversation in a crowded hospital after a long day. It’s nothing that will stand up in court. They’re done there.

Carly holds the baby, and says, so beautiful. This is definitely a real baby, and actually looks like Sonny. Dr. Johannsson says there’s little or no damage to the surgery pathways, and the spine should be fine. Sonny says he loves the baby so much already. He’s going to take care of her. He’s going to give her the world and all the love in it. Carly says she can’t wait to tell everyone the baby’s name. It’s been hard keeping it a secret. Sonny is glad they had a secret together, and says, welcome to the world, Donna.

Kristina joins the others at the hospital, saying she was on a run, and her phone was off. She asks how the baby is, and Michael says Carly had a C-section a while ago. She was in good spirits when he talked to her. Josslyn feels like they should have heard something by now, but Michael says, they’re taking extra precautions. Josslyn asks, why? Is something wrong? Kristina asks, what is it? and Jason says, tell them. Michael says, the baby has spina bifida. It’s serious, but they’ll get through it together.

Martin tells Nelle that he hasn’t decided to take the case yet. He wanted to meet her first. She says now that they’ve met, is there something she can do to help or convince him to take the case? He suggests she pump the breaks a little. He doesn’t like rushing. She says her parole hearing is coming up fast. Did he look over her records? He laughs, and says, it’s pretty damning stuff. She tried to murder her baby’s father with her ex-boyfriend, who’s a cop. And they have the whole thing on tape. Nelle says she was under enormous pressure. She was pregnant, alone, and felt ganged up on. Her hormones were making the decisions for her; she wasn’t in control. Now she is. She knows he can help her. He represented someone in a similar situation, and got an acquittal for a case more difficult than hers. Her childhood was abusive, and she’s struggled her whole life. She got pregnant, and thought she was happy. She thought the baby’s father loved her. Then the baby died, and she went to a prison she’ll never escape. Hasn’t she paid her debt for life?

Kendra tells Alexis, this is a brand new product, and Alexis says, yay! Protein powder. Kendra says it’s a supplement that gives the nutrients we don’t get in food. It’s made in small batches with only the purest ingredients. Alexis looks at the container, and says it’s in Italian. She wants to translate it, and make sure it’s something she wants to take. Kendra wants her to take it in confidence, and wishes all her clients were so meticulous about what they put in their bodies. Kendra’s phone dings, and she says she has to make a quick call to a client. She steps away, and we see she’s gotten a photo captioned Kiefer in the summer of nineteen-whatever.

Sonny is glad he and Carly had time with the baby. She’s so perfect, it’s hard to imagine there’s anything wrong. She’s so tiny. Carly says, tiny, but fierce. She can handle it, and so can they. They tell Donna that they love her, and the nurse takes her. She’s wheeled out on a tiny gurney for babies.

Martin tells Nelle, sorry she lost her child, but truthfully, he doesn’t know if it will have any bearing on her parole hearing. She says she’s not looking for sympathy. She’s been a model prisoner from the moment she came in. She has special privileges. Martin says he knows. The warden sang her praises. She says, he’s a kind man. She’s had time to reflect on the decisions that led her there, and she’d never sink to those lows again. It makes her sick to think about how much pain she caused. She wants to make it up to them, but she can’t do that in there, can she?

Sonny tells the kids he has good news. Carly had the baby. Kristina asks if it’s a boy or girl, but he says he’ll let Carly tell them all at the same time. Josslyn asks how Carly is, and he says, tired, but happy. Kristina asks how the baby is, and Sonny says, everything is going according to plan. The baby is in surgery. He got to hold his baby, who’s a heartbreaker even now. He can’t wait for them to see for themselves.

Kendra comes back, and Alexis says, everything checks out. Kendra believes it will help with Alexis’s workout, and help her sleep. It has double the electrolytes to help her well-being. She’ll be hydrated, and ready to go. Kendra suggests Alexis try it; she’ll join her. She puts a scoop in Alexis’s water, and Alexis shakes it up. Kendra puts a scoop in her own water, and Alexis says, bottoms up. Kendra barely touches it with her lips, but Alexis takes a couple of swigs. I’m wondering what the blip it is, and what Kendra has to do with Kiefer. As no doubt, we all are.

The guard tells Harmony, time’s up. Harmony thanks Willow for telling her in person. Willow says, it’s going to be okay. Wiley is safe, and that’s all that matters. Harmony says it’s nice seeing Willow without that weight on her shoulders. She looks at peace. Willow says they’re all free now, and Harmony says, speak for herself. Willow says, free from Shiloh. Harmony says at least Willow and Wiley are. He can’t hurt them anymore. She takes a lot of satisfaction in that. Willow is happy that Harmony stood up to Shiloh. She’s proud of her. Harmony says she just followed Willow’s example. They touch hands against the glass between them.

Nelle asks what Martin is thinking, and he says he’ll represent her at her hearing. He thinks she’ll make a compelling impression on the parole board. She says, that’s fantastic news, and thanks him. She asks, what’s next? and he says his office will be in touch.

While Nelle is being led back to her cell, she passes Harmony, who’s wiping tears from he face. Nelle asks, what’s wrong? and Harmony says she just got difficult news. Nelle says, not about her grandson? and Harmony says, Wiley is fine. It’s about his father. Shiloh is dead. Nelle says she’s so sorry. Harmony is led away, and Nelle says, this day keeps getting better and better.

The kids go in to see Carly. Josslyn says they heard she did a great job with the delivery. How is she feeling? Carly says she feels fine, and can’t wait to see the baby again. Sonny says the know the baby has spina bifida, and Josslyn says, it will be okay, whatever happens. Carly says she knows. What else do they know about the baby? Sonny says they don’t know whether it’s a boy or girl. He thought she’d want to tell them. Carly says they have a new baby sister. Josslyn says Avery will be so excited, and Michael asks what her name is. Sonny says, Donna, and Josslyn asks how they came up with the name, and Kristina says, Donna from the old neighborhood. Sonny is surprised she remembers, and says, Donna was a great lady in the old neighborhood. People loved and hated her, sometimes both. Josslyn asks, why? and he says, because she was kind and loyal, and could keep a secret. You could talk about your problems, who you loved, your fears, and she’d just listen, not judge. She wouldn’t tell a soul. She was tough as nail, and had no patience for fools. If you were annoying, she’d get in your face. She hated bullies, young or old, and she was fearless about that. Most of all, she was kind, loyal, and generous. One of the greatest things about her was that she could always make you smile, no matter how you felt. It’s just the way she was. Carly says, it’s how their Donna is going to be, and they group hug.

Sam tells Jason that she should have been more careful, but Jason says, the nurse was out of the room. How would Sam know she was eavesdropping? Sam says when she saw Sheri last night, she was nice, but then a few hours ago, she seemed unfriendly. Diane says she’d do research on Sheri, but it’s hearsay, and inadmissible in court. Sam says, Jordan doesn’t seem to think so, but Diane says, Jordan is doing her job. They should be prepared for more questions. Fortunately, they have her on retainer. Json says, Michael just texted, and Carly had the baby. He didn’t say whether it was a boy or girl. Sam says they have to go and find out. Diane says she has to text Max. He’s been on pins and needles.

As Jason and Sam are about to leave, Jordan comes back. She tells Sam that she’s under arrest for the murder of David Henry Archer, aka Shiloh.

Tomorrow, Franco says what he and Kim have is real, Kim tells Terry that Drew is real, Laura says she has one night to search Windymere, and Sam says Shiloh found a way to hurt them even from his grave.

Below Deck Mediterranean – The Finale

Villafranche. We slide back a little, with the captain telling Hannah about the importance of having the table set before the guests get up. Hannah says that she had two people up while the guests were up the night before, and Captain Sandy says the deckhands were up, and washed Hannah’s effing dishes. Anastasia told the captain she was too busy to set the table. Not one thing is set up. There’s no fresh orange juice. Hannah says the plan was to set up for brunch at 10:30, but the captain says she wants it now. She wants all of the interior on deck. Hannah tells Ben, two hours until service. In Captain Sandy’s interview, she says she was making a point that it’s a nice touch to wake up to a set breakfast table.

Captain Sandy compliments João on his management, and having it together when the guests wake up. She says, this is why they charter a yacht, and not a cruise ship. She thinks the table should be set at 5:30-6:00. She talks to João about finding him a boat. In her interview, she says, it’s all about helping people ascend in the industry who want to. It’s her passion, and she’s investing in him. Ben makes muffins. Jack asks Aesha if she had a nice sleep. Hannah tells the stews it’s time to set up for brunch. She tells Anastasia that Captain Sandy told her that they have different views about service. She thought it was important that two people were up when the guests were awake. The deck crew puts out the slide.

The table looks fabulous. It’s a nautical theme, with a life preserver as the centerpiece, and messages in bottles for the guests using the parchment paper Anastasia made. Captain Sandy thinks it’s cool. In her interview, she says it’s amazing, but she doesn’t want to come down on Hannah to get that result. She tells Hannah the table is amazing, and thanks the deck crew. Colin thinks they did well. Anastasia tells Ben that she’s on edge, and he says, four more hours. Hannah pours coffee. Jack asks how João has put up with him all season. João says he asks himself that every day.

The guests wake up, and start coming to the table. Hannah gets coffee, and they haul anchor. In the captain’s interview, she says the anchor was her Achille’s heel. We flash back to all the anchor problems over the season. She says, the Sirocco became her bitch. Hannah tells Captain Sandy the guests love the table. Anastasia asks if they’ve read the messages in the bottles, but Hannah says they’re waiting until they’re done eating. Captain Sandy says, the port is closed. She saw smoke, and apparently, a boat caught fire. She tells João about the change in plans. In her interview, the captain says it’s the final day, they have beautiful weather, and there’s a freaking fire that closed the port. She’s not sure where they’re going to go.

The captain tells Hannah they’re going to do a drive-by in Antibes. In her interview, she says thankfully, the weather is good because they’re going to have to find another port. The guests sit down for brunch. The dude that Hannah was talking to the night before, barely says good morning, and in her interview, she thinks someone has guilt over chatting with her. The guests admire the table, and in her interview, Anastasia says, of course they love it. It’s beautiful. Ben asks Hannah for some help, and the food is served. More eggs benedict. I’m dying here. In Ben’s interview, he says he has a lot of respect for Hannah as a friend. Professionally, not so much. He’s driven by the challenge of the job, and she’s not. For that, he feels sorry for her. Colin tells João, they made it. He thought the captain had been sh*tting on them the whole time, and now they’re ballers. Hannah tells the guests there was an explosion on a yacht, so they can’t use the port, but she’ll let them know what’s going on when they know. I’m sure talk of an explosion on a yacht is a comforting thought to guests on a yacht. Ben checks on the guests, and asks what Randy’s favorite bite was on the entire trip. Randy says dinner the first night was very detailed. In Ben’s interview, he says his catering business isn’t as grueling. He was afraid to get on the boat, wondering if he still had it in him. We flash back to the guests sending food back, and Ben saying it’s enough to get him to give up cooking. He thinks he overcame it. A guest calls Ben an artist. They look at their messages, which are corny/funny. One guest is impressed with the paper.

The captain wonders where their berth will be, and tells the deck crew to prepare to stand by. Jack jokes that he’s kicking Aesha out of their cabin; he’s had enough. Captain Sandy call João to get the deck crew. They’re docking in Antibes. The guests take pictures. Anastasia pretends to interview Jack, and asks if he’s excited to be docking the boat, and he tells her to get away from him, calling her a feminist. In her interview, the captain says fortunately, they got a dock in Antibes. Unfortunately she has to back all the way in, but she’s had experience at this. We flash back to some tight squeezes. The guests watch, and declare her a parking genius. Captain tells them, well done. She tells Anastasia it’s been an absolute pleasure working with her; she’s amazing. They hug. Hannah hears them, and looks bummed. Anastasia says she needs to be off the boat. She has anxiety.

It’s the last line up, and everyone says goodbye to the guests. Randy compliments everyone, and tells Ben that he’s an artist. he thanks Captain Sandy for making the yacht home for a couple of days. He says, this is for her, and gives her an envelope. The captain asks if the crew heard; it’s for her. Everyone laughs, and they go back inside. Aesha says she feels energetic and suggests they do another one. Anastasia says, eff you. Hannah tells Anastasia that she had so much to prove to Captain Sandy this season, she’s disappointed. She said they expect different levels of service, when she was just saying how happy she was. It was like a backhand. She would have preferred a backhand. She says she can’t do it any more than this. She tried to be perfect all season, and feels like a failure, when she’s been doing her best. Anastasia says Hannah has to tell the captain, and hugs her.

Aesha doesn’t want to pack João asks how Jack feels, and Jack says, sad. He wants to keep going. João appreciates that Jack respected his position. This is his career; his passion. He might even call Jack for a job. Jack says he’s pushing it now. In Jack’s interview, he says they went from hates to mates. He’d definitely work with João in the future, but only if he was the boss. João says Jack met his challenge, and Jack says he can’t wait for that phone call. It’s time for the final tip meeting.

Captain Sandy says they actually made it. From charter one to seven, they never had a full crew. With charter eight, it was the first full crew, then Ben came. That he could produce a lunch like he did that day, was amazing. She feels like he brought something to the crew that was lacking, and would love to work with him again. Ben thanks her for having him. In Captain Sandy’s interview, she says she’s at the level where she wants an A team that has that passion. She says on charter nine, João got sick, but overall, they did an amazing job. Her expectations of service are, however you worked on the last boat stays on the last boat. In Aesha’s interview, she wonders what the bloody hell the captain wants. They were doing their job, and doing it well. The tip is $15,000 USD, or $1185 a person. She tells them their season total was $155K, or $14,420 a person. She says, that’s pretty freaking good. In her interview, Aesha says it makes trips to London seem more feasible. The captain asks to see Hannah on the bridge. Ben tells Hannah that she’s a fantastic girl. He can’t drink enough in her name.

The captain tells Hannah that she’s amazing with the guests. She doesn’t want to take away from what they have, but wants to share this. She loves being a captain. When Ben came on, she could see Ben loves being a chef. The guests are Hannah’s passion, and she killed it with them, but that wasn’t what was behind her concerns. The table setting took a while, and it irritated her. She knows Hannah tries, but doesn’t think yachting is her passion, and Hannah should follow her dreams. This industry needs a passionate chief stew. Hannah gets teary. In Captain Sandy’s interview, she says, you want to finish better than you started. That’s called passion. She tells Hannah not to be sad. Everyone watches as Hannah walks past, and sits on the dock.

João says, what a trip. They have one more night out. Aesha tells Hannah, well done. She’s proud of them. Anastasia tells the deckhands, the captain was ripping Hannah for no reason. The criticism isn’t fair. João decides to have a beer. Aesha says, cheers to Hannah. Anastasia joins them, and Hannah says, sorry she’s been ugh. Whatever that means. Hannah tends to use sound effects to express her thoughts. Anastasia says Hannah is holding it together better than she would. They clink glasses. Anastasia says they know what they did.

João calls a friend of Sandy’s named Skip, and asks about an interview. Skip says Sandy talked to him about the potential of them working together. In João’s interview, he says he’s sitting at the same port he started at. He came with three things; a backpack, some gold coins, and hope. Now he’s having a conversation about a possible captain position. He worked hard to get to this point, and it’s somewhat emotional. João tears up. Skip asks what João envisions next, and  João says, in one to three years, he wants to be a captain, and manage his own team. Skip says he’ll have to talk to Sandy about it.

Jack and Aesha goof around. Everyone gets ready to go out. In her interview, Aesha thinks tonight everyone is going to get loose, and go out with a bang. She gets an extra one. Even Captain Sandy dresses up. They go to Le Plongeoir, which is on the water (see below for a pic). Aesha says she loves this place. Going there is a big treat. They order, and in his interview, Travis says he doesn’t want to end on a low. He’s going to curb his drinking tonight. He also doesn’t want to get super drunk in front of his sober captain. Captain Sandy thanks them for being amazing. They went through a lot, and came out the other side. Every one of them added to the guest’s experience. She’s proud of them. In her interview, she says the dinner is a celebration of them completing the charter season together. She wanted to show them that they’re a team. Ben toasts to Sandy, and Anastasia toasts to their fabulous chief stew, who looks absolutely stunning tonight. Aesha says, cheers to herself, and Anastasia seconds that, saying, cheers for getting a man. Captain Sandy wants to know what their greatest moment was, versus their hardest moment. She says it’s a learning curve for her, and she can take her knowledge to the next boat. João says, on a professional level, it was amazing when Travis stepped up to the plate when he was sick. He can’t think of a lowest moment. Travis says the greatest thing was his friendship with Jack, and the hardest, having it taken away by Aesha. Hannah says her girls were the highlight of her season. She loves them. Her lowest point was probably her horrible tables. Ben says his lowest point was getting in the galley and seeing it, and his highest point was leaving the galley. Aesha says her high point was the extra romantic gestures from Jack, and we flash back to those. She says her low point was the interior not getting as much praise as they should have.

I’m honestly starting to feel sad about the season ending, even though I’m so looking forward to the original Deck. That will be premiering next Monday, October 7th, at 9 pm. So at least no withdrawal.

In her interview, the captain says, Aesha is a good forgetter. We flash back to Captain Sandy encouraging Aesha, and giving her some praise. The captain says, it’s because the team took it personally, and that’s not the case. Aesha says she knows Hannah works hard and does a good job. She hates that Hannah isn’t getting the praise she deserves. Captain Sandy says she’s going to go and let them have some fun. They have one last cheers. Hannah high-fives Aesha. João sarcastically says, Aesha is an effing hero. What a legend. Aesha says she was being honest, and João says, so was Sandy. Aesha tells him, eff off.  Hannah asks Aesha to step away from the table with her. Hannah says it looked like Aesha needed space. Aesha wonders what’s João’s effing problem? Everyone goes back to the boat.

The captain knocks on Hannah’s door. She tells Hannah that she’s thrilled with what their has become. She hopes Hannah knows that. Hannah tears up, and says she understands where Captain Sandy is coming from with her belief about passion. She is passionate about the guest’s experience, She’s not as passionate about cleaning toilets, but the captain says, it’s not about that. Hannah is great at interacting with the guests, but what’s not all it is. It’s also about when the guests sit around the table. Yesterday, Hannah did an amazing table, but she wants amazing constantly. It’s what she asked for, but she didn’t want to ask. Hannah says she felt like she tried her best, and her best wasn’t good enough. Captain Sandy says that’s not the case. She’s grateful. Hannah did an amazing job. She doesn’t want Hannah to think she’s disappointed; she’s not. She’s not easy, but she’s fair. In Captain Sandy’s interview, she says she’d work with Hannah again, but Hannah would need to perform at the level she needs. Hannah tells the captain that she understands, and they hug.

Jack and Travis decide to snooze on the sundeck. Travis thinks Jack owes him some quality time. Jack says, they’re going to be friends for the rest of their lives, but he’s in a relationship with Aesha, so he’s stuck with her. Aesha joins them, and asks why Jack isn’t in bed, and Jack tells her that he’s sleeping under the stars. She wants to sleep inside, and kisses him goodnight. In Travis’s interview, he says they wanted to do this little kid campout, and it’s nice Jack didn’t ditch him for Aesha.

Everyone starts getting up by 8:30. Colin bangs on a pan, so they’re all awake now. In Colin’s interview, he says he’s more excited than sad. He couldn’t be happier going home to his parents, and sleeping in his own bed. Everyone packs. Ben tells Anastasia that he literally couldn’t have done it without her. In Anastasia’s interview, she says she’s capable of more than she thought. Looking back, she accomplished a lot. Even if she couldn’t carry it for the whole season, she rocked it. Ben gifts her with a chef’s knife, and they say goodbye. Anastasia tells Hannah that she’s been there for her more than anyone else. Captain Sandy says Anastasia is an amazing human being. Anastasia leaves the boat.

In his interview, Colin says, a couple of falls, a broken anchor, almost leaving the boat mid-season; the boat is trying to kick him off, but he persevered. The captain says she’s grateful. He thanks her for believing in him; it meant a lot. João says he’s grateful for Colin’s friendship. He makes you feel like you want to be a better person. Colin waves goodbye, saying, smell you guys later.

Skip calls, and says João has a job if he wants it. João says, it’s a dream come true. In his interview, Travis says, it’s been a long season. He’s been working for two years straight, with no holiday or time off to relax. He wants to see his loved ones in Australia, and just try and chill TF out. Aesha thanks Hannah for being amazing. In his interview, Jack says, it’s been fun pushing boundaries. He and Aesha go to the bridge to see Captain Sandy. The captain says they met on the boat, and their leaving together. She tells Jack that he’s special. He laughs, and she says he knows what she’s talking about. In the captain’s interview, she says she’d work with Jack again… maybe. She says, Aesha told her that she didn’t get enough praise. She did a fabulous job. She has a certain energy that makes people feel comfortable. She’s incredible. In Aesha’s interview, she says she did her job well, met lifelong friends, and she’s leaving with a dude who has a big d*ck. She asks Jack if babysitting him is her life now.

In Hannah’s interview, she says she and Ben have the relationship of an old married couple. They bicker, but have each other’s backs 95% of the time. She’s glad she didn’t do the whole charter season with him. Ben thanks the captain. In Ben’s interview, he says he overcame every obstacle he was in control of, and he’s walking off a stronger person. He enjoyed the challenge. It was a joy, but he’s glad to be walking off the boat, and back to a normal life.

In João’s interview, he says he and Hannah have come a long way in regard to respecting each other’s opinions. They can work with each other. He goes to the bridge to say goodbye, and Captain Sandy says she’s going to cry. They hug, and he says he learned so much. He tells her that he got the job, and thanks her. She says he has a bright future. In João’s interview, he says he came in thinking he wanted to be a captain. He wouldn’t be where is in his career except for Captain Sandy. She says she can say it and mean it. He’s the captain now.

Captain Sandy tells Hannah, it’s been amazing. In her interview, Hannah says she’s not letting one charter ruin what she and the captain have built. She tells the captain that she is passionate about giving the guests a great experience, but she has to do research on table décor. Captain Sandy says Hannah is a phenomenal human being. In Hannah’s interview, she says, next season, she’ll do dinner service in a mermaid outfit, and bring all the passion she can muster.

Captain Sandy stands on deck, and says, finité.

Coming up on Below Deck – Thailand, which Captain Lee says is like sensory overload, there’s so much to take in; elephants; a deckhand stripper; Kate says boat romances don’t end, you have to ship out; a stuck tender; Kate gives the finger; and Captain Lee says don’t think he won’t fire someone mid-charter. Well, it’s happened before.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

For a moment, I was unsure if I was suddenly transported to France in the middle of the night, and didn’t realize, since I turned on GH and saw news footage of the fire at Notre Dame. Over and over and over. I figured it was a possibility, since we’d had a mother of a storm in the wee hours. I personally slept through it – I slept through Hurricane Sandy – on the third floor – but by the havoc my dogs wreaked, it looked like it had blown through the house. Maybe we’d had done an Oz thing, and ended up in Paris. Anyway, because I was still in the US, and it was only the usual incessant coverage of a big story, there was no GH today. A half hour in, we were treated <cough> to an encore presentation of the day Lulu woke up from Ryan’s attack. A new episode will be shown tomorrow. There’s a cup of soap tea below to tide you over.

And it did bring to mind this quote: God gave Noah the rainbow sign, no more water, the fire next time! Mary Don’t You Weep, a Negro spiritual. Just saying…

Vanderpump Rules

Fluffy! Giggy! LVP meets Ken at SUR, giving Giggy a kiss first, as I would. She asks Katie, what’s happening with Girl’s Night? Katie wants to do more, but not once a week. LVP suggests twice a month, but Katie says she isn’t interested in being a club promoter. She just did it because everyone was saying no one could bring in people like James did. LVP says Girl’s Night was a success, and Katie brought it to her. Katie says, it’s a lot of work, and Ken says Tuesdays haven’t been the same without James. In Katie’s interview, she can’t believe James is irreplaceable, and thinks SUR is doing fine without him. LVP agrees James was bad news, but at least committed. Katie was thinking of more down the road. In her interview, LVP says she’s supportive of Katie, but people will be pissed if Girl’s Night is canceled. She tells Katie maybe she should think about doing something sooner, since Schwartz’s check was like a big rubber ball. Katie says he forgot the account was closed. I so don’t understand that. How many accounts does he have that he can forget something like that?

Tom plays a d*ck flute, which is basically a song flute shaped like a d*ck. James comes over, and asks how Mexico was. Tom and Ariana both say, fun, but horrible. In James’s interview, he says it was probably Schwartz and Katie fighting the entire time. They’re an old, fat married couple. Good Lord. What does this dude have against fat people? I’m not inferring they’re fat either. It’s just that he uses it constantly as an insult. He says, a couple dinners with sleepy, dozy, horsey Kristen. He doesn’t need it. Ariana says she’s going to Lala’s performance with Kristen. Tom says, it started with a kiss. Now Kristen is taking Ariana on dates. She’s his dumpling, and Kristen can’t have her. Ariana says Lala has a short fuse, and she gets it – it’s the five year anniversary of her dad’s death – but the fight or flight has to stop. She says James has been there; it’s kind of his thing. James says he hasn’t been instigating lately, but Tom says Billie wants him to DJ her brunch, and he can’t do it because of what happened with Lala. James says he’s leaving. He had nothing to do with it. He guesses they’re all not friends anymore, and this is the end of him. He says, bye, and walks out. Ariana says, all right, and suddenly, James is back in the apartment. He says, this is bullsh*t, and Ariana says they’re just trying to help. He tells her, they’re all pushing him to the end of the island, and Ariana says she’s not doing anything. He says Tom told him, do his job, and keep his head down, and he’s still being excluded. Tom says he’s screwed up so many times, all of his actions are under a microscope. In his interview, Tom says James is held to a different standard, and has to take it in stride. Ariana says he’s done plenty, and now he just has to do what he needs to do. He says he’s only doing his best for so long. Straight up.

Stassi is doing her photo shoot for Next Level Basic. The book is about embracing your basic bitch. Beau and Katie come for moral support. In her interview, Stassi says she feels like Carrie Bradshaw. She wants to try different basic bitch poses and props; like an iced vanilla latte. She poses like she’s taking a selfie. Basically, she’s just trying to be Scheana. Katie shows her the invite flyer for the puppy shower. She says she was invited, but said no. She said wtf? The photographer tells her to play it up, and they’re done. She says now that she has the hot photos, she needs to finish the book. They head to the coffee bar. Katie says the basicness is rubbing off on them. Out of Stassi’s earshot, Katie asks how Beau feels dating an author. He says he’s been thinking a lot of the stress in Mexico was about the book. Katie says Stassi talking to her about some of it. We see a clip of Stassi telling Katie that she has trust issues, and she’s afraid of it ending. Katie tells Beau that Stassi is used to self-sabotaging. Now that she has a great guy, she doesn’t think she deserves it. Katie thinks she’s scared. Beau says he sees it too. In her interview, Katie says if Stassi doesn’t stop lashing out, she’s going to lose the love of her life. It’s time to do something drastic.

Brittany and Jax go to therapy. Brittany tells therapist Lindsey that she has people coming in for the engagement party on Tuesday. In her interview, Brittany says she might have gone a little overboard planning, but wants it perfect. We see a clip of her telling Jax that she wants to fairytale it up. She has a lot of family members coming in, and it’s the perfect time to show them how great she and Jax are doing. He can do no wrong in her mom and mamaw’s eyes, but she’s excited for Jax and her dad to talk. They used to fight a lot, and her family saw them fight. We flash back to some of that, and her dad’s concern, saying he’s not 100% on board. Brittany says they had a hard time for a while, and she wants her dad to see how good they’re doing now. Jax thinks for the most part, they’re good. Brittany says he still gets defensive, and says things are her fault, like if he can’t find his keys. Lindsey asks if Jax thinks that’s her fault, and he says, no. He just needs someone to yell at. I have no words, except at least he put it out there. Lindsey asks how he thinks that makes Brittany feel. Part of couple’s therapy is about slowing down and developing empathy. He says they’re going down the right path, but Brittany says she still doesn’t trust him a little bit. Like if he’s late, she’s wondering where he is. Lindsey says that’s part of the sadness; she’s being real. Jax says it’s the first he’s hearing it. Lindsey asks if it’s hard hearing it, and Brittany says she doesn’t want any what if?s once they’re married. In her interview, she says, every now and then, she sees glimpses of Jax’s old behavior; like him talking over her, or being disrespectful. Lindsey says, any time it happens, they have to be totally transparent. Jax says it’s made them stronger, and made Brittany stronger. She doesn’t let anyone bully her or push her around. Brittany agrees that’s true. In Jax’s interview, he doesn’t advocate anyone cheat to make their partner stronger, but that was some good that came out of it. Jax says Brittany tends to give everyone a chance.

Schwartz calls his banker, and says he needs $50K. She says she’ll put in a request. In his interview, he says he’s always wanted to be the dude with the suitcase filled with cash. He wants to show Lisa that he’s a man of action. We flash back to Lisa calling him a p*ssy, then to her telling him the check bounced. He has the banker double-check that he has enough. He feels like a gangster with a heart of gold.

Ariana and Kristen go out. Kristen says she’s courting Ariana, and Ariana says Kristen had to ask her dad permission. We see a clip of Kristen knocking on Tom and Ariana’s door. Tom asks who it is, and she says she’s the ghost of his apartment’s past, which is pretty clever. Tom shows her what changes he’s made. They sit on the couch, and Kristen feels like she’s sitting with Ariana’s dad. Ariana is finally ready, and Tom tells them, keep it PG. Ariana tells Kristen not to be a downer, but her dad died five years ago tonight. In her interview, Ariana says this was also when Kristen said Ariana was having an affair with Tom. It was like WWII. Kristen says she was a d*ck that day. In her interview, Kristen says she remembers saying she knew Tom was Ariana’s friend, but he was her boyfriend, and he left to be with her. That summer, she wasn’t thinking about Ariana’s feelings, and that her father passed away. She tells Ariana that she wishes it could be erased. Ariana says it all worked out, and Kristen says, the bottom line is that Tom and Ariana are better together than she and Tom ever were.

Lala sets up at her venue, Sweet! Hollywood. Katie joins her, and Lala says she has record labels coming in, but she’s trying to forget that. Ariana, Kristen, and Jax come in, and Jax says he’s here to celebrate. He finally had a solid poop. Thanks for oversharing. Peter brings in roses from Lisa, who couldn’t be there. The guys question Adam about being in the friend zone, yet still having sex. Jax says, that’s hard to do, but he’s doing it. Lala comes out.

In Lala’s interview, she says. this show is important. She’s releasing a song she wrote for her dad. Unfortunately, her dad never saw her perform. She starts to get choked up, and says, so this is special moment for her. She wants her dad to know that she’s grateful for the woman he raised. She wouldn’t be this person without him. Lala performs two songs. Afterward, Stassi says she was so intense; she was so in it. Lala tells Stassi that she’s a beautiful human being, and if anyone says different, they don’t know who she is. Stassi asks if someone’s been talking about her, and then laughs. Lala asks where Stassi and Beau are, and Stassi says she feels like an a-hole. Alcohol fuels it, and here she is drinking. It brings out the demons she already has; the feelings from the past. Alcohol makes her say, screw it. In her interview, Stassi says, for the first time, she doesn’t know what to do. She’s terrified by her own behavior. Beau is not replaceable. Lala says when Stassi freaks out, she has her back.

Tom asks Ariana how drinks went with Kristen. She says Kristen remembered where she was five years ago and felt badly about it. Tom says it’s going to sound bad, but at that point, he felt he was going through it with her in a sense. Even back then, she meant a lot to him. She says he was always a good friend, and he hugs her. In his interview, he says they were just friends, but he cared deeply about her, and had to be there. He knows what that means now, but maybe not at the time. Ariana says it’s been a great day.

Raquel asks if Graham is excited to see his friends. Graham doesn’t answer because he’s a dog. She tells James that they’re playing pin-the-tail-on-the-puppy, and some kind of poopy toss game. He hopes not with real poopies. In Raquel’s interview, she says, having a puppy is like having a baby. It’s a big commitment, and you have to teach it everything. They discover a real poopy in the hallway, but don’t say whether they’ll be using it for a game. In her interview, Raquel says, it’s good practice for the babies James will have. We all go, what? and she says, she meant her and James. Freudian slip? Tom, Ariana, Peter, Scheana, and Adam represent. Raquel’s mom, Laura, helps with everything. In his interview, James says, she has no barrier. She says what’s on her mind, and he’s like the embarrassed son. Laura tells Peter how handsome he is, and touches his chest.

Raquel explains the first game, saying, you chug rosé while blindfolded, spin around, and pin the tail on the puppy. It’s a cute puppy. Giving Raquel props for painting it. Ariana thinks the party is 98% Raquel and 2% James. In his interview, a producer asks James why the puppy shower is important, and he says, it was Raquel’s idea. He’s just going along, but he loves it. Ariana ends up having to wear the cone of shame, but it’s not clear why. Tom says it’s good James isn’t drinking. James says he didn’t drink at Billie’s brunch, and that’s probably why he didn’t take Lala’s bait, taking it to the next level. Tom asks where James sees himself. Does he see himself back at SUR? In James’s interview, he says he’s been fired and rehired several times at SUR, and has his foot back in the door. He tells Tom he doesn’t think his run there is over. Tom asks, what if it doesn’t happen? and James says he’d have to start a new life. Straight up (apparently, his new favorite phrase). Tom thinks you should always have back up. Raquel thanks everyone for coming, and says Graham is happy to have so many friends there. In her interview, Ariana thinks when people say how their pets feel, it means that’s how they feel. Well, yeah. You’re point?

Ariana doesn’t like bartending when she’s hung over, but here we are. Scheana gripes that she never sees Ariana any more because of living on the west side. Lala asks to talk to Scheana in private. She tells Scheana that she’s been counting how many times she’s been drinking, and thinks she has a for real problem. Her anxiety attack in Mexico was 100% driven by alcohol. She can’t mess with alcohol, and it needs to be a lifestyle. In Lala’s interview, she says she’s been feeling emotionally confused. She tells Scheana that she’s angry, sad, and happy. It’s a lot, and her heart is so broken. In her interview, she says that after her father’s death, she was drinking every day. She takes a break, then falls back, and starts breaking down again. Scheana says she thinks it’s become an issue, but she’s handling it by making the difficult decision to never have a drink. Lala adds that she’s on her period, and Scheana says, at least that means there’s no baby. Lala tells her, good point.

Katie drives Schwartz to the bank, since he gets skittish in the rain. Katie says he should handcuff the money to himself. He’s lost his ID a million times. In his interview, he in his fantasy, he hands off the briefcase, Lisa opens it, and says, well done, Schwartzy. Then he has sex with an Eastern European woman who’s trying kill him. He asks Katie if she’s coming to watch, but she says she’s taking Stassi to see a real oracle. She’s a bonafide witch, who’s studied with shamans. Katie thinks it could be a method of therapy for Stassi. In her interview, she says, Stassi could use some magic. She tells Schwartz that he’ll be fine, but he’s nervous. He wonders, what if gets mugged? What if the bank teller sends the information to someone else, and he gets abducted or killed? While he’s in the bank, Katie calls Stassi, and tells her they’re all set. She asks if Stassi is excited, and Stassi says, no; scared, but she wants to be exorcised. Schwartz comes back with a tote bag full of cash. He feels 17% sexier, and asks if she wants to pull over and have sex. She says, not particularly.

Tom brings Ariana to TomTom in the sidecar. Inside, he tells her it’s the quiet before the storm. Schwartz comes in with briefcase handcuffed to his wrist. Tom asks if he’s effing kidding. Schwartz says, people get killed for way less, and Tom tells him to shush. In his interview, Schwartz says when every time he visualized the scene, he was a different James Bond, A man of few words, sexy, debonair. Hello, Vanderpussy. I’ve got your money. Schwartz meets Ken and Lisa in the back. Giggy! He says he’s had a stressful day, and Lisa tells him, welcome to her world. He has something for her. He uncuffs the briefcase, and says he wants to show her that he’s serious. He opens the case, and they laugh. Lisa asks what he had to sell to get it, and he says, his body. She asks, how many times? and he says, ten thousand. She asks why it’s in small bills, and he tells her visual impact. Ken takes pictures. Schwartz asks If it’s official, and Lisa says, it’s official, baby. In his interview, Schwartz says, the name is Schwartz; Tom Schwartz. And I like my shots halved, not whole. In Lisa’s interview, she says she’s proud of him. Of course, it’s ridiculous. He drops the briefcase, and they gather up the packs. Lisa takes it to the safe.

Stassi is nervous. Oracle Amanda wants to do a quick clearing ceremony before Stassi comes in. Stassi stands in the doorway, holding her hands out, and closing her eyes. Amanda says, blah-blah-blah, boo! or something like that, scaring Stassi. In her interview, she says she loves the supernatural, and dabbling in it, but it’s normally more lighthearted. She feels like she walked into the Blair Witch house. Amanda, Stassi, and Katie sit in a circle. Stassi says she has issues with getting angry. She acts out, and it’s like she can’t control it. Katie says everyone becomes the bad guy. Stassi says she’s finally in a relationship with somebody wonderful, and she sees herself coming at him. She’s brought a photo, and gives it to Amanda, who sees lot of love between them. She says Stassi has to get the power under control. When she has angry outbursts, a demonic spirit is possessing her. In Stassi’s interview, she says, she’s not just mean; she’s demonic. Amanda says it’s possible the spirit is one she called in to protect her. She doesn’t need it anymore, and has to transform the spirit that’s causing suffering. She tells Stassi to call up an image of the demon. Think of the times she lashes out. We flash back to the times she’s gotten on Beau’s case. Amanda tells her to say out loud what it feels like. Stassi says, it’s hot and dark, like a heavy cloud. Amanda wants her to tell the spirit how she feels, and Stassi says, she feels angry. Amanda says, tell it what she wants it to do. Stassi wants it to leave, and Amanda does some chanting, and waves her arms around. In her interview, Stassi says she feels hopeful and helpless at the same time. It’s the most draining experience of her entire life. Amanda says, the circle has been cast, and asks what Stassi sees. Stassi says, it seems younger and lighter. A cloud on the best day. Like a Mario brothers cloud. Amanda tells her to feel it melting with her body, and tinkles some chimes. She asks Stassi to come back in the space. It was a turning point. Her wound has healed, and now Stassi can become the most magnificent badass version of herself. She asks what Stassi learned, and Stassi says, her trying to be powerful and in control, doesn’t serve her loved ones or herself. She doesn’t need be in control. It will be fine. In her interview, Stassi says, admitting you have demons is the first part in being better. She’s just begun the hard part. Katie says it shows Stassi is a worthy, beautiful person, and she’s proud of her.

Next time, Brittany’s family arrives, Scheana goes on a date with someone other than Adam, Lisa tells James not to be a two year old, and Brittany reveals her dress. Jax also tells Brittany’s father that he’ll always make himself number one, but I’m guessing that editing is involved. Even Jax can’t be that stupid. Can he?

🍝 It’s Still Not About the Pasta…

Of course everybody hates James.

🐉 A Dragon Flies Into Winterfell…

Sansa: What do dragons eat anyway? Daenerys: Whatever they want.

So after a two-year (!) break, we finally got a new episode of Game of Thrones. Nothing phenomenal happened, but that’s not surprising for the first episode of a season. They’re going to have to work up to topping a White Walker dragon and the Wall falling. The main points were that Samwell told Jon who he really is and at the end Bran saw Jaime come into town, and their eyes met. My favorite moment though, was Jon getting his first ride on a dragon. It was both exciting and funny, and like every childhood dream. A little rougher than riding on Falcor of The Neverending Story though. For a more detailed recap…

⛅ Stassi’s Cloud…

I’ve never played video games much, because I was always too afraid I’d be one of those people who gets sucked in, plays 24/7, and ends up in rehab. So if, like me, you had no idea what a Super Mario Brothers cloud looked like, here you go.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

At Beechers Corners, Harmony welcomes Jason. She says he called with questions, and wants to check them out. Let’s get to it.

Carly thanks Sam for meeting her at the MetroCourt. She talked to Jason, and thinks she knows why Sam and Jason broke up. She wants to support them both, which Sam interprets as wanting to talk her out of it. Carly laughs. Drew comes by to say hi. Carly says Josslyn told her the good news about Oscar, and Drew says the tumor hasn’t grown. Sam says, incredible, and Drew says he and Oscar’s mother are trying to get back to a normal life – whatever that is. He wants to check in on Shiloh. Sam says he doesn’t have to, but Carly thinks the more information, the better. Drew says Shiloh made a point to be friendly. The least he can do is be friendly back. He leaves, and Carly hopes he gets lucky, and gets some leverage on Shiloh. Then Sam and Jason won’t have to break up.

Alexis says the new guy is Neil Bern. She looks at his card, and says, yep. She wishes she’d read it before putting it in her bag. He wishes he’d known he was inviting a patient out to dinner. She asks what they do now, and he says it’s up to her.

Not-Doc sneaks around behind Griff, holding the syringe. He flashes back to seeing Griff holding Ava. He asks if Griff sees a spot for Kiki’s memorial brick. Griff thinks she’d like the flower bed. The GH community meant a lot to her; it’s a thoughtful gesture. He turns around, and not-Doc startles him, being so close. Griff says he didn’t see him there. Ava pops out of the roof door, and tells Griff that he’s too close to the edge. Does he have a death wish? Not-Doc asks if she was looking for Griff, but she says, no; she’s looking for him. She knows what he’s been up to.

Neil tells Alexis to do what she thinks is best. He’ll be happy to give her a referral. She says she can’t go back to Doc; she’s representing his ex-wife in the divorce. She tells Neil, once again, she’s given him TMI, but he says there’s no such thing for a psychiatrist. If she’s uncomfortable, he can give her the name of an associate. He writes something down, and gives it to her, saying he thinks it would be a good fit, and he hopes it works out. She thanks him, and says, goodnight. She closes the door behind her, and shakes her head.

Drew goes to DOD. Shiloh says it’s a nice surprise, and Drew says he had a free night. Shiloh invites Drew inside. Drew wanted to talk about their time in Afghanistan together; when Shiloh went by Hank. Shiloh says Drew saved his life, but more than that. They were seriously tight, but Drew held his cards closer to the vest than he did. He gave Drew some late night, sloppy confessions. He wanted to get some things off his chest in case he didn’t make back. Drew said he didn’t remember, and Shiloh thinks he feels better about it that way. Drew says they must have been some confessions.

Sam tells Carly that she told Danny she was coming there, and he wanted her to give this to Carly and Sonny. She hands Carly a handmade Valentine’s Day card. Carly says, little boys can sure surprise you. She never would have associated Danny with making a card; he was always the adventure boy. Sam says she had to have Monica lock the attic. Danny was taking Annabelle up there, and playing on the roof. He’s like his father; fearless, but sweet and thoughtful at the same time. Carly says Sam is going to have to work harder if she wants this to work out. It’s obvious how much she loves Jason.

Harmony says Jason must be there on someone’s behalf, and asks if it’s a family member. He says he considers them one. She asks if they’re in Beechers Corners; is it someone she knows? He says, no, and she asks why not talk to Shiloh; he’s in Port Charles. Jason says he wants to talk to someone besides Hank Archer. Harmony says, a blast from the past. She used to be Lorraine. Her parents chose it, but it was never a good fit. She found it freeing and empowering to choose her own name. Jason says so she became Harmony, like Hank became Shiloh. She says it was a bridge to becoming her true self. Shiloh untethered her from what was holding her back, and Dawn of Day unlocked her potential. She tells him that she and Shiloh built the community center across the street from the ground up. He asks if they’re still in touch, and she says, of course. They still conduct business together. Jason says, but they’re not together. She’s there, and Shiloh is in Port Charles. Why? Wow. Harmony looks a lot like my sister.

Not-Doc asks what Ava thinks he’s up to. Ava says she knows why he’s up there. She went to his office, and found this on his desk. A letter about honoring Kiki with a community brick. It says the best way to look for a spot is from the roof, so she came to see for herself, and give some input. She says it’s a lovely gesture, and thanks him. He says it’s all he could think of. Maybe it will bring some small comfort to the people who miss her. Griff says he was just saying the same thing. He tells not-Doc to let him know when it’s picked out. He needs to be somewhere. He leaves, and Ava says Kiki will be part of a place she loved forever. Not-Doc says a brick isn’t much, but if it dissipates her anger toward him… She says she’s not angry at him. She jumped to conclusions, and owes him an apology.

Carly tells Sam that Shiloh has charisma, and knows how to use it. She asks if Sam thinks he’s a sexual predator. Sam intends to find out. Not just for Kristina. All the girls there look like they worship him. Carly asks why she and Jason have to break up, and Sam says she has to con Shiloh. He’s about to get a taste of his own medicine.

Harmony tells Jason that Shiloh was the visionary; she was the pragmatist. Jason asks why they’re apart, and she says Shiloh wants to expand the work. Jason wonders why Port Charles, and she tells him Shiloh found that’s where people needed outreach that DOD can provide. He left, and she stayed to continue the work there. Jason says, Shiloh seems devoted. What about a life outside? Does he have no family, or no interest in having one? Harmony says, DOD is his family; why is he asking? He says because the young lady he’s there for is really involved. She’s naïve, and growing attracted to Shiloh as more than a mentor. She’s falling for him. He asks how Shiloh handles situations like this when they come up.

Shiloh tells Drew the thing about confessions is, when you’re making them, they seem of monumental importance, but in the grand scheme of things, they’re not important at all. Drew says he has a point, but why is he still thinking about it? Shiloh says coming there brought back memories. First he runs into the brother he didn’t know Drew had, with his face; then he sees Drew with another face, and Drew doesn’t know him. Drew says he doesn’t remember anyone or anything, and not to take it personally. Shiloh asks if there’s any chance Drew’s memory will return.

Griff bangs on the radiator. Then he does push-ups. Like three of them. He starts to lift free-weights, but there’s a knock at the door. It’s Sasha. She says she was in town to visit Nina, but needed a break. She can’t imagine what Griff has been going through. It must be hard walking past Kiki’s apartment every day. She asks how he’s doing, and he says he’s sick and tired of everybody taking to him about Kiki. Talking about her is not going to bring her back.

Ava tells not-Doc that she realized he wasn’t protecting Franco. He didn’t think weren’t Franco was a threat. Not-Doc says he would have never let Franco harm Kiki or anyone. He never thought Franco would act on his impulses. Ava says she’s convinced Franco is innocent, which means the killer is still free. Not-Doc says, that’s a real problem. She says, it doesn’t have to be. He needs to go to the police, and tell them that they have the wrong man.

Alexis goes back into Neil’s office. She says she’s thought about it. She already spilled her guts to him, and established she’s at ease talking with a complete stranger. So if he’s still willing to treat her… He says he is. She has some intriguing issues to work out. She says, referring back to their conversation, just to sure, when they met, did he know she was his patient?

Drew tells Shiloh, supposedly, there’s a procedure that can undo what happened. Shiloh doesn’t know what happened, and Drew says, long story. Shiloh says he’s heard plenty of those, but Drew assures him, not like this. He was never AWOL; he was abducted. Shiloh says he knew Drew never abandoned his post. Drew says the plan was to put him in his brother’s place. Transfer his brother’s knowledge to his head, and have his brother eliminated. Shiloh says Drew’s brother is still around; someone messed up. Drew says, the first part worked. He has Jason’s memories, and lost his. Shiloh says Drew told him there’s a procedure that could help him recover his memories. Why wouldn’t he do that? What’s holding him back?

Carly tells Sam, maybe Sonny can persuade Shiloh to leave town. Sam says, that could backfire. Shiloh could tell Kristina, and she’ll dig in even harder. Carly would like to wring Shiloh’s enlightened neck. Sam says she has to pretend to be hanging on every word. Carly asks what if he catches on? Sam says she’s an experienced con, and Shiloh expects women to fall for him’ the girls there are almost like groupies. All she has to do is play along.

Harmony says Drew is naturally warm and inclusive. It can be misunderstood by the more vulnerable volunteers. Jason asks how he handles it. He doesn’t want his friend getting hurt. A cop walks up, and asks if he’s Jason Morgan. Jason asks if there’s a problem, and the officer says he ran Jason’s plates. He has an arrest record there for murder. Jason says the charges were dropped, but the officer says he’s on the wrong side of the law again.

Neil says Alexis called to make an appointment at five, when he was already sitting at Charlie’s. He didn’t know the interesting woman sitting down next to him was soon to be his patient. If he had, he wouldn’t have asked her to dinner. She apologizes for questioning his professionalism. He says, apology accepted. If they move forward, can she trust him? She says she can, and he says they’ll see how it goes, and if she wants to continue. He asks why the urgent return to therapy at this time? She says, a lot of reasons, but the chief one is the feeling she has when she sees her ex kissing his girlfriend. She also had an experience at the Dawn of Day house.

Drew tells Shiloh the procedure is like overriding a computer program. The old memories are restored, but the past five years would essentially be deleted. The relationships he’s made with the people he’s grown to love. the memories of his daughter from the day she was born, until now – gone. He didn’t know he had a son until he move there. Meeting his son, and the memories they made together, he’d lose them. They mean everything to him, so the short answer is, no; he’s not having the procedure. Shiloh says, good. He has his priorities straight.

Sam tells Carly the worst part is lying to Danny. He’s too young to understand what’s going on, and he’s missing out on family time. Monica has been great about it; she’s a hand’s off mother-in-law. Carly says when she was married to AJ, all Monica did was meddle. She understands though; they loathed each other. Sam says she and Monica are a lot alike. Carly asks, in what universe? Sam says they both have a love for family, and Carly says she’s a part of that club too, protecting Kristina. Sam knows what it’s like to have a guy using you, and making you feel worthless, tearing down your self-esteem. She’s not letting Shiloh do that to Kristina.

Jason tells the cop that he did nothing wrong. The officer says he parked in a designated handicapped spot. Jason says there was no sign, but the officer tells him to move it, or he’s impounding the car. Harmony tells the officer that Jason will be going shortly, and thanks him for his diligence. When he leaves, she tells Jason that his bark is worse than his bite. Jason thanks her for smoothing things over. She says it’s a community, and they look out for each other. They’ve really come together since Dawn of Day launched. She hopes it’s the same in Port Charles. He thinks he’s heard enough. He’s learned a lot.

Griff apologizes to Sasha. He doesn’t know what’s worse; thinking about Kiki or not thinking about her. He’s consumed with missing her. He can’t find a moment’s peace. Sasha asks how he get the bruises, and he says, boxing; he spars sometimes. She says with a neurosurgeon’s hands? Is he crazy? He says they wear padded gloves. She tells him, pick someone his own size next time. He looks like he boxed with a kangaroo. He says he lost focus. His mind wanders, and regret takes over. She knows the feeling, and he asks what she has to regret. I’m wondering if Griff is involved with a fight club. Griff Durden.

Ava tells not-Doc it’s important the police stop wasting time on Franco, while the real monster is out there. Not-Doc knows she’s struggling with grief, and didn’t want to add to it by upsetting her. She says she recovered, but he says she ran back to Griff. She says he saw Griff comforting her, and assumed she went back to him? He says she ran out on him. She’s beautiful, and the man is an Adonis. Ava says not-Doc is insane, and she’d have to be equally insane to go back to the man who betrayed her with her own daughter. She hugs him.

Sasha tells Griff that she thought she’d blow in, meet with her mom, and blow out. She’s met people she cares about, and found herself worrying about them; hoping they’re okay. Griff says that’s a good thing. She made connections. She says she wants to do the right thing, but she’s not sure how. Some things are hard to fix. He says if she wants to talk, he’s wide open to distractions, and wants to help. She asks why it’s so hot in the apartment. He says can’t control the radiator. Kiki showed him some tricks, but he never got the hang of it. She had the magic touch with everything she did.

Not-Doc turns away from Ava. She asks if he’s okay. He says he thought he’d lost her. It’s only been a short time, but she has his heart. She’s everything to him. He doesn’t think he could put one foot in front of other if he lost the woman he loves. She says, he loves her?

Alexis tells Neil, in an effort to heal the rift between her and her daughter, she attended a seminar by the man responsible. Neil asks, how was it? and she says, weird; uncomfortable. She played along to appease her daughter, and realized, as Neil pointed out, she frames everything in the context of her ex. She’s fairly certain she doesn’t want a relationship, but she’s drawn to his type; dangerous, selfish, incapable of intimacy and honesty. Men who love power more than they’ll ever love her. He asks if there’s a man in her life who set that pattern. She says her father. Small world. Her father was one of those exiled Russian aristocrats he’s fond of studying.

Shiloh says that’s a lot of pain Drew is carrying. If he’s ever interested in reconciling, the seminars can ease suffering, including his own. He’s learned to untie his troubled past. It looks like they both can have closure. Drew says, no charge. Maybe he can start his own seminars. They shake hands, and Shiloh thanks Drew for giving him his life back again. Drew leaves, and Shiloh ponders the visit. Or plots. I’m not sure which.

Harmony says she’d Invite Jason to attend an open house, but something tells her that won’t happen. He must bear scars, being arrested for a murder he didn’t commit. He says he doesn’t, and thanks her for time.

Carly knows Sam and Jason aren’t candy hearts and flowers people, but they should be together on Valentine’s Day. Sam says she has plans, and Carly asks if she’s going to the Dawn of Day event; she’s seen the flyers. Sam says Shiloh is expecting her, but Carly says she can have an emergency. Sam says she won’t be spending Valentine’s Day with the man she loves. She’ll be at the DOD house, listening to Shiloh’s wisdom with an eager smile. The harder she works on it, the faster she can get Kristina out of there.

Alexis suggests she skip over the gory family details. To sum it up, her father was a distant, unapproachable, controlling figure in her life. He was ruthless and powerful, and she was simultaneously drawn to him and repelled by him. She rarely got his attention, and never his love. Neil says, it’s not a job. You don’t earn a father’s love; it’s a gift with no strings attached. She says, not in her family. Love was a weakness to be exploited. He asks at what age she realized that, but she has no idea. She blocked out most of her childhood. Her father murdered her mother, and she witnessed it. He says she probably has PTSD, and asks if she’s ever been diagnosed. She says, no. Her stepmother was as ruthless and cruel as her father. He wonders if she equates those traits in men with safety, to ensure her survival. She says she never thought about it like that. He says if she decides to move forward, she can get a better understanding of herself, why she’s led to people who aren’t good for her, and be steered toward healthier relationships. She likes that, and he asks when she’d like another appointment.

Not-Doc was hoping to save the words for Valentine’s Day, but Ava says, don’t. He says he won’t. He loves her. She says she loves him too. Very much. They kiss.

Sasha tells Griff she didn’t mean to bring up Kiki again. She’s heading out, and he says to stop by anytime. They can work on her regrets. She’s too young to have them weighing on her. She says so is he. He watches as she leaves.

Harmony calls Shiloh, who asks to what he owes the pleasure. She says he sounds upbeat. He tells her a potential threat isn’t so threatening. She says she just met Jason Morgan, who questioned her about their arrangement. She was assisted by their favorite cop, Billy. He did his part, and made Jason feel less than welcome. I wasn’t aware Jason felt much of anything. She doesn’t think he’ll be back, and he didn’t learn anything they didn’t want him to know.

Jason arrives at the MetroCourt, and Carly says he just missed Sam. Or was it intentional? He tells her she has a bartender who’s into DOD. She asks, which one? but he doesn’t know. Sonny was talking to him. She says she can’t fire him, but she doesn’t want him reporting to Shiloh. She wanted a safe place for him and Sam. Yeah, a public hotel seems just perfect. Jason says they’ll find one. She says DOD has made unsettling inroads. No one noticed they were responsible for the clothing drive. She wouldn’t have let Josslyn be a part of it. Jason says Josslyn has a good sense of herself. Kristina is in deep. It might help if Shiloh is distracted, and feeling pressure from the outside. Carly asks what kind? And he says he went to the originating DOD, and got a good idea of how it works. But now he has to figure out how to take it down.

Tomorrow, Sonny talks to Spencer, Sasha and Obrecht meet, Nina announces she’s marrying Valentin again, and Cameron questions Franco’s innocence.

Vanderpump Rules

I’m not sure if anything can top Lisa getting slaughtered last week, but we’ll see.

Lisa arrives at SUR with a bit of a hangover. She tells Peter, those bloody cocktails; she literally had two. We flash back to her at the event, saying she had five. She hasn’t had a hangover this bad since 1985. She got pregnant that night. Schwartz says she was amazing; it was well-earned. Tom says she was cute; she had so much momentum. Schwartz thinks they both get gold stars, and Tom says it was a total success. She says once they get the gas on, they can start interviewing, and there’s outside work to be done. It’s a different situation when people aren’t paying to be there. Now is when the hard work begins.

Lala, Kristen and Ariana meet for lunch. Kristen asks if it was fun at TomTom. Lisa didn’t want her there. In her interview, Kristen says whether Lisa likes it or not, she’s part of the SUR family, and she might as well accept it. Lala tells her about the trip to Danish wine country. In Lala’s interview, she says Kristen is a nightmare to travel with. In Mexico, she was an absolute sh*t show. We flash back to her throwing a glass of wine at James. Lala says this trip is for the people who were there for her when her dad passed, and Kristen was one of them. Kristen says she and carter are having problems. They fight about dumb sh*t. We see a clip of that. Something about the dishwasher, walking the dogs, and sharing responsibilities. She thinks it’s healthy to disagree, but not seven days a week. Lala passes on the rosé, and in her interview, says she and Randall got sloshed one night, she got naked, was yelling at the top of her lungs, and broke a hurricane proof window. They made a pact that they should probably stop drinking. but that doesn’t mean she can’t get her bitches drunk.

Jax and Brittany, along with Katie, Stassi, and Ariana, look at the venue for the engagement party, The Inn of the Seventh Rain. Brittany says it has a whimsical, enchanted forest feel. They get the tour. The place is gorgeous, and Jax says, it looks expensive. The manager asks what Brittany’s vision is. In his interview, Jax says Brittany sees possibilities, and he sees dollar signs. He says they’re not even at the wedding yet. The total damage is $14,205. In Stassi’s interview, she says Jax looks like he’s sh*tting his pants. Since he’s always stolen things, she doesn’t know if he’s cheap or a klepto. Brittany says they can all have babies together now. Stassi wants them to wait, but Jax says they’re starting right away. Wait until he finds out how much a kid costs. They talk about pre-marriage counseling.. In Jax’s interview, he tells us that if you get married in the Catholic church, it’s require the have therapy a year ahead. It’s the Pope’s rule. I don’t know about it being a year ahead, unless it’s a waitlist thing, or if the Pope is involved, but it is a requirement to have pre-marriage counseling. Most of them have a one-day seminar option though, so it’s not like he’s making it sound. He says he’s never going to be able to quit SUR.

SUR is hopping. Peter sends Brittany to work in the pink room, her favorite. She tells Lala and Scheana that the venue looks like a fairy tale. The guys are having a guys’ night when the girls are away, and Tom is glad it’s relatively local. He has to be close to TomTom in case the sh*t hits the fan. In his interview, Tom assumes, now that he’s engaged, Jax wouldn’t do anything remotely close to pissing off Brittany. He assumes. Lala hasn’t asked for time off yet, and finds out no one else did either. She approaches Lisa, and explains about the trip. Lisa is cool with it, as long as they’re back by Friday night. Lala says they’re taking a private jet, so they can be back any time. Lisa says Randall must be part of the equation. In Lisa’s interview, she thinks Lala is cavalier with her job. It feels almost like she’s working for Lala, and Lala needs to come back to earth if she’s going to be part of SUR.

James goes to the therapist. In his interview, he says Lisa thinks it’s a good idea for him to talk to someone. If he’s going to get back in SUR, he has to show her he’s trying. He says he’s dealing with his parents. HIs mom called him about his dad not having a job, although his dad says he’s looking, and James is sending money to his mom every other day. In his interview, James says when his dad was managing George Michael, and his mom was modeling, they lived a lavish lifestyle. As he got older, it gradually disappeared, until they were fighting about money 24/7. He tells the therapist he came from a two-income household, with a mom and dad. His life has now flipped, and he’s the guy providing the only income. The therapist says he’s put these expectations on himself. He says it turned quickly, and the therapist says his mom has resentment at his dad, and he has to set boundary that she can’t take it out on him. In his interview, he says, it’s frustrating. He’s helping them, but still getting caught in the crossfire. They’re treating him like a child, when he’s the man of the family.

James calls his mom, and tells her that he can’t deal with it anymore. She’s always yelling about his dad and asking for money. He’s her ex-husband, but his father. He starts yelling, because she’s obviously not listening, and eventually he hangs up. He wonders if he’ll ever get something back at some point. She’s his effing mother. I don’t think he’s talking about the money either. I think he just wants to be acknowledged, and see a little gratitude. I don’t like James, but fair is fair, and I feel sorry for him with having to carry the family.

Katie asks Schwartz is jealous of her going on a private jet. He asks if they’re going Girls Gone Wild, and she says possibly. Stassi drops in. She’s excited; she’s never been on a PJ. In her interview, Katie says she used to think Lala was a rachet gold digger, bragging about traveling on the PJ, but she took a trip with Lala and Randall, and it was luxurious AF. Stassi says they have the rooming situation. She doesn’t want to room with Kristen. Katie volunteers. In Stassi’s interview, she says Kristen is a bad traveler. During their girls trip to Copenhagen, she left. She flew home instead of going with them to Paris. That’s next level. Beau says he’s turning his phone off after midnight.

It’s Brittany and Jax’s turn for therapy next. Brittany is nervous. Jax says he’s making better choices now. He was a bad boyfriend, but after his father passed away, it cleared up for him. He knows the right way to live now. The therapist says every relationship has its challenges. She asks if they talk about what happened last year. Brittany says when the pat has to be brought up, Jax doesn’t like talk about it. Jax says they talked about it, and put it to bed. No one points out the bad choice of words. Brittany says, for sure. The therapist says, if Brittany wants to talk about it, and he shuts that down, he’s basically telling her to shut up. If she’s a people pleaser, then it’s not honest. It’s part of what needs be healed. She asks why Jax just rolled his eyes. Jax says, it’s fine, and Brittany asks what he’s mad about. He says he’s not mad. He just doesn’t understand how going back makes everything better. Brittany asks how does he know he won’t go back to old behavior? He says he just knows. Brittany wants to keep their relationship on the right track. The therapist says that means being honest, not hiding things, and being more transparent.

James plays some tracks for Ariana and Raquel. Ariana thinks being there is a good first exposure being in recording studio. We see a clip of her singing. Kind of. In her interview, she says Ariana Grande needs to look out for Ariana Vente. She asks how everything is going. James says, all right. He’s seeing a therapist to figure out how to avoid future fights. He’s learning how to say no in the right way. Ariana says it sounds like he’s doing good sh*t for himself. Raquel says he’s going to the gym, and James says he’s picked up golf again. Ariana says he can be sober and responsible, and not be a sixty-five-year-old man.

Jacqueline arrives at the apartment, bringing her rescue dog. In James’s interview, he says he wants peace. No down-talking or shutting him out. He wants to be listened to, like a person. Ariana leaves, and Jacqueline asks if James went to therapy. He says they talked family stuff, and how it would be a good thing to set boundaries. She can’t talk about his dad. She says, okay, and he tells her, she says that, but then she calls him. This is all it takes for her to go on a tirade about his father, and how he doesn’t send her a dime. She says, yes, she’s bitter. Ya think? Raquel looks really uncomfortable. He says she puts him in middle, and she says, fine. Boundaries done. He says the other thing is finances. He’s helping, and wants to see what she’s doing with the money. He’s sending $200 every three days. She says she still has two kids at home. She asks him if she was a sh*t mother. He went to an expensive school, had fabulous vacations, and designer clothes. He took his first steps at Tiffany’s. Well we see what’s important to her. She says she’s not telling him to kiss her ass, but he should thank her. Act like she’s not a total bitch. He’s making her feel like a child. James says, he’s the child, and she needs to remember that. She says when she and his dad broke up, she was in hell. He says they were all in hell. He says she sees the relationship going downhill, and doesn’t want that. No talking about his dad, and he wants to know where the money is going. He doesn’t want to see it going nowhere.

Jax asks if therapy was what Brittany expected. Brittany tells him the therapist said things that made sense. She wants to go back. Jax thinks she should go by herself a couple of times, but she doesn’t know about that. She asks what he’s doing while she’s gone, and he says he has to monitor the guys. We flash back to other guys’ nights, where Jax needed to be monitored. Brittany says don’t disappoint her. She doesn’t want to go backwards. He says he should probably cancel the strippers.

At SUR, Lisa asks Peter, what’s happening. He has a table in garden for her. Jacqueline arrive, and meets with Lisa. She was hoping James would be working there again. Wow. This woman is so entitled. No wonder James is the way he is. She says he’s in therapy, and not drinking. He needs this. Lisa says, it’s a start. He needs to be committed. He has an anger issue. Jacqueline says he needs to come to terms with her and his dad. She has something to ask Lisa. James’s brother, Harry, is back from college. She asks if he can bus two nights a week. In her interview, Lisa says James has been a major pita, and doesn’t know if she wants to deal with another one, but maybe if his brother is working, the finances won’t be James’s sole burden. Jacqueline wants Lisa to meet him regardless.

The girls get ready to leave. Ariana opens champagne on the plane. Stassi texts to say they’re running late. In her interview, she says she told Katie don’t carpool with Kristen – she’s always late – and they had to go back for her purse. Stassi has never been on a PJ, and she’s not letting Kristen ruin the trip. In Kristen’s interview, she says Stassi goes out of her way to be an a-hole to her. She is who she is. Ugh. I hate people who are chronically late, and can’t understand why the people on the other end are upset because their time is valuable too. Lala tells the pilot that she has virgins, and they’re popping PJ cherries. Kristen finds a basket of booze nips, or baby bottles of booze, as Adam (Guy Pearce) calls them in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. Stassi films. In her interview, she wonders why she waited so long. She’s naming her first born PJ. It was the best twenty-five minutes of her life.

James brings Harry to meet with Peter and Guillermo. He introduces Harry to Jax. He asks if Jax is having a big night, and Jax tells him about guys’ night. In his interview, James thinks Jax gets pleasure in not inviting him. He’s not letting it bother him. Well, he did kinda ask. Jax asks what James is up to. In James’s interview, he says that his mom helped him get a job at SUR, and he’s here for Harry’s interview. It’s a big day for him.

The girls take a limo van to the hotel. Lala says they’re going to have a wine tasting at the hotel today, but tomorrow, they have full day. Lala is obsessed with Sideways, and hoping someone gets so drunk, they drink out of spit bucket like Paul Giamatti. In her interview, Stassi says she spent more time waiting for Kristen than being on the PJ. The town of Solvang is really cute; quaint and Danish. It looks like it’s from another time.

They get to the hotel, and divvy up the rooms. Scheana is rooming alone. In her interview, Scheana assumed she’d room with Ariana, since they’re besties. She lives by herself, and doesn’t want to room by herself on vacation. Lala can’t wait to Instagram TF out of it. Stassi and Ariana get to their room, and Ariana says, there’s a coffeemaker; thank God. Stassi says, there’s wine; thank God.

Scheana puts a stuffed frog on the other bed, and says she guesses it’s just him and her.

Kristen tells Katie that Stassi screamed at her. Katie says she didn’t want to get involved, and Kristen goes through a lengthy explanation as to why she left her purse. In Katie’s interview, she says you’d think since Kristen is a bad traveler Carter would help, but no. And now she has a stressed out terrorist traveler in her room.

At SUR, Peter talks to James and Harry, while they wait for Guillermo. When Guillermo arrives, he asks what Harry is looking for. Harry says he just finished school, and is looking for a couple of nights a week bussing tables. Guillermo says, five years ago. James said he’s a DJ. He said he didn’t need a DJ; he needed a busboy. Now, he doesn’t need a busboy; he needs a DJ. James effed it up. He says they’ll take Harry on, and train him, and see how it works out. In his interview, James says Guillermo is like a third father, after Ken. His jabs are like a knife in his heart. Guillermo says they’ll find out if he’s a hard worker. He’s heard that before. He looks at James. As he’s leaving, he says he’s still looking for a DJ. By this time, James is crying. In James’s interview, he says it feels like someone who was once proud of him isn’t proud anymore. Harry tells him that he made some mistakes; it will be all right. He needs a little tough love. Peter tells him to hang on.

Brittany loves how the buildings all look like little cottages. There’s lavender everywhere, and Kristen eats a piece. To double-check that it’s not something poisonous, afterward, she checks with the bartender. They start doing a tasting. Kristen announces that merlot is the basic bitch of wines. Whatever that means. (In Vanderpumped – a wringing-it-dry second show that features pop-up trivia, Stassi said she drinks the basic bitch of wines – pinot grigio.) Katie thinks Kristen should get ahold of herself. It’s just the first winery.

When they get to the next one, Stassi says she can see the telltale signs. Crazy Kristen is coming out. Weird behavior, she starts rambling, and drinking – a lot. Yep, she’s guzzling, and looking for more. Stassi says, crazy Kristen. She’s not coming. She’s here.

Next time, Peter gets wild, Lisa says Harry’s brother hasn’t set the best example, Harry says he’s his own person, and Kristen takes a drunken tumble.

😥 A Sad Farewell…

I didn’t watch The Young and the Restless, except for a few months when Marc Singer played a villain. However, Kristoff St. John was in one of my favorite exercise videos of all time, Kick Butt, along with trainer Jackie Vankatwyk and three-time European kickboxing champion Badrino Kocktane. It was made a million years ago, but I still use it. He was so young too.
