What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

Laura tells Anna that she doesn’t think she’s going to be able to draw a full breath until she knows Lulu’s transplant is a success. Anna takes Laura’s hand.

Alexis says, it’s nice of Portia to let her and Diane use her conference room. A work lunch was a very good idea. Diane asks if it’s helping keep Alexis’s mind off of Sam’s surgery, and Alexis says, she’s achieved a balance between work and worry. Diane says, speaking of work, she has a conflict with the Blevens hearing the second week of November. She can ask for a postponement or… Alexis says she’ll cover for her. Sam will be out of the hospital by then. Diane asks if she’s sure she’ll want to because Ava’s trial is starting right around then, and she’ll want to be with the girls. Alexis says, even though Molly may no longer be speaking to her.

Heather says, Steven Lars, and he says, in the flesh. He asks how Elizabeth is, and Elizabeth says, good to see him. What is he doing here? Heather says, her son came back to her, and hugs him.

Sasha knocks at Robert’s office door, and he says, welcome. She says, he told her on the phone that the paternity test results are in, and he says he’s got them right here. She says, good. Now they’ll know for sure Holly was lying and he’s not her father. He says, we’ll see. He didn’t open it. He didn’t want her to think it had been tampered with. She thanks him and takes the envelope. She says, before they do, she just wants him to know she’s sure he’s probably a great dad… He says, it’s not about him, and she opens the envelope and looks at the paper. He asks what it says,

Cody goes into the stables, and Holly comes down the stairs. She says, hello, Cody, and he says, hello. What was she doing up there? She says, looking for him, and he says, and who is she? She says, Holly Sutton. She thought it was time they met.

Alexis says, so Sam came over to tell all of them that she’s going to be Lulu’s donor, and Molly and Kristina couldn’t stop going after each other. Diane says, one would think, given the circumstances, they could just set their differences aside, and Alexis says, one would think, yes. Not only that, they had the gall to blame her and Sam for taking sides. Sam had enough of it and left. Diane says, good for her, and Alexis says, honestly, it’s toxic. And Ric is just making it a thousand times worse. She never thought that man could surprise her, but his defending Ava when Ava is the reason her daughter lost her baby. Apparently, he doesn’t care about Molly. Diane says, let’s face it. That’s just a new low in the history of lows. Alexis says, it’s an equal opportunity disaster, and Diane asks if she’d care to be more specific. Alexis says, he won the appeal. Heather Webber’s sentence has been vacated. Diane says, vacated? Heather Webber? The woman whose body count nearly included her? That Heather Webber? She’s getting out of prison? Alexis says, today.

Heather says she honestly wondered if she’d ever see Steven again, but here he is… both of them, her family. She just can’t even believe how blessed her life is. Steven says, how about a hug for her big bro, and Elizabeth says she was trying. He was busy. They hug and Heather says she just can’t get over the coincidence. Steven says, what coincidence? and Heather says, them getting out of prison at the same time. He says, actually, he’s been out for a few months, and Heather says, oh. That’s wonderful. She wishes he’d let her know he was out… He says, they haven’t talked in years, and she says she guesses they haven’t, but here he is now. He says, they have a lot to talk about, but not here. She says she can’t even wait to get Pentenville behind her, so she knows exactly where they should go. She takes his hand and says, come on. She’ll show him. They walk off and Elizabeth doesn’t look thrilled.

Sasha tells Robert that it says he’s her father, and he says he thought it would. She says, her mother must have altered the test results, but he says, the test was done at a secure WSB lab. Even Holly couldn’t get in. Sasha says, she must have gotten somebody else to do it, and he says, if it makes her feel any better, they can do another test, but he’s convinced Holly is telling the truth for once. She’s his daughter.

Laura says she wants to thank Anna again for going all the way to Africa and putting her life on the line, and Anna says she was happy to do it. How is Lucky doing? Laura says, okay, and Anna says, the instant she told him about Lulu, he was determined to be her donor. Laura says, he was really upset to find out he couldn’t do it. He actually blamed himself. Anna says she guesses he was very relieved then that Sam stepped in, and Laura says, they all are. Anna says she was impressed with Lucky. He kept a cool head in a crisis. Laura says, he’s a Spencer, and Anna says, he is. He proved it too. He risked his life to rescue his friend Isaiah. Laura says, and because he did that, Dr. Gannon is here to save Lulu.

Sasha sits down and says she grew up thinking her father was dead. Holly told her that he was dead. He says, everybody thought the same thing at the time. Definitely, she wasn’t lying. Sasha says, but when she found out he was alive, Holly never told her the truth, and he says, she had her reasons. Maybe not good ones, but they were hers. She says, so he’s her father, and he says, better late than never. She says, which means she and Cody are first cousins, and he says, yes, they are. He’s sorry.

Cody asks if Holly was up in his room, and she says she poked her head in to see if he was home. He asks why she was looking for him, and she says, they have something in common, the Ice Princess necklace. He asks what she knows about the necklace, and she says, everything. She’s the one who stole it.

At the hospital, Terry asks Elizabeth how it went with Heather. Any problems picking her up from Pentenville? Elizabeth says, the opposite. Her brother showed up. Terry says, oh my God, that’s… Elizabeth says, unexpected? Shocking? The last thing she thought would happen? Terry says, all of the above. So where are they? Elizabeth says, Heather wanted to go to Bobbie’s for… They both say, a BLT, and Elizabeth says, and Steven wanted to talk to her alone.

Heather and Steven walk into Bobbie’s, and Heather tells the server, mademoiselle, two of your finest BLTs, s’il vous plait. They sit down and Heather says, let her look at him. He is so handsome, and she’s so happy he’s finally home. He says he doesn’t consider Port Charles his home anymore, and she says, a lot’s changed since he’s been here, but pretty soon he’ll remember everything he loves about Port Charles. He says, not going to happen, and she says she knows how disorienting it can be after years behind bars, but it’s a lot easier when they let you out then when you escape. He didn’t escape, did he? He says, no, and she says, they have so much to catch up on. She knows Elizabeth is going to put them up. Only for a short time, because soon, she’s going to be rolling in dough. They can live in the fanciest part of town. She can get them a big house with a beautiful yard, a little swing set for Ace. He says, that’s not… and she asks if he’s ever met Ace. His nephew is the cutest little thing he’s ever seen. He says he can’t live in Port Charles. He has a job in Arizona. She says, so he’s not staying? and he says, no. Neither is she.

Laura says, Anna has done so much already, she hates to ask her to do anything else, but Anna says, it’s fine. Ask away. Cyrus approaches them and says, sister. Laura says, hello, Cyrus, and he says he knew he’d find her here. She says, where else would she be? He tells Anna, good afternoon, and she says, Mr. Renault. He asks if he should sit with them while they wait, but Laura says, actually, they were right in the middle of something. He says, of course (🍷), but he would like to say a prayer for Lulu… if she doesn’t mind. Laura says, prayers are always welcome.

On the phone, Alexis says, Kristina is coming to the hospital to see Sam after the surgery, right?… Yes. Of course (🍷) Sam wants to see her. She wants to see her and Molly. Just be there, okay? Diane asks if Kristina is okay, and Alexis says, she feels bad after what happened with Sam. And she ran into Ric and Ava at the Port Charles Grill, and Kristina being Kristina… Diane finishes, she had to say something, and Alexis says, after making sure she was going to be there, Ric baited Kristina into making a scene. Now they have a bunch of neutral witness who can testify they saw Kristina being aggressive and lose control. Diane says, yeah, now they do, and Alexis says, he’s going to be merciless with her on the stand, even knowing she just almost died and lost a baby. Diane says, don’t forget, the prosecution is going to do everything in its power to protect her. And if she knows Alexis – and she does – she’s going to make sure Kristina is well-prepared. Alexis says she plans to. Enough about my misery. Let’s talk about yours. Diane asks if she means her misery that Heather Webber is getting out of prison today, but Alexis says, no. Holly Sutton is back in town. How is she feeling about that?

Cody says, Holly stole the necklace, and Holly says she did. He says, as he recalls, the police tracked the thief to a cabin, and she says, they did. He says, there was a huge, fiery explosion, and she says, oh yes, there was. He tells her, the WSB said the necklace was destroyed and the thief severely burned. She looks good for a crispy critter. She says, that’s kind of him to say, and he says he’s a charmer. She says, as she understands, he claimed to be the rightful owner of that necklace because he’s Dominique and Leopold Taub’s son. He says he was looking for a big payday. It didn’t work out. She says, he’s probably better off. Those diamonds were far more trouble than they were worth, and they were worth quite a bit. He says, were, so they are gone, and she says, who knows? He says, she might, and she says she wishes. But in regard to his misfortune, that was then, this is now. He says, so what is this? and she says, what if she can make his dreams come true?

Sasha gets up and tells Robert, this can’t be happening. She always wanted a dad. She spent her whole life wishing for one and now that she has one, she can’t be happy because it’s costing her Cody. She starts to cry and he says he understands. She says she’s so sorry. Trust her. If things were different, she’d be jumping for joy. She can’t figure out how she feels being face to face with her father. He says, for what it’s worth (🍷), he’s feeling pretty lucky, and she laughs. She says, look her up online and see how he feels, and he says he’s aware of the troubles she’s had over the years. He’d like to get to know her, but that’s up to her. She thanks him and says, he’s been very kind. She has to go. She picks up her stuff and leaves.

Cyrus says, Father, show Lulu Your mercy and give her strength so she may rejoin those who love her. Amen. Laura says, amen, and he thanks her for indulging him. He’ll leave her to her vigil. And if she needs anything… She says she knows how to reach him, but no more surprise visits. The next time he’d like to see Lulu, she wants him to call her first. He says, of course (🍷), and leaves. Anna returns with coffee and asks if Laura is all right. Laura says she’s okay and thanks Anna. Anna says that she’s relieved to see that she doesn’t trust Cyrus all that much, and Laura says she honestly doesn’t know what to make of her brother. But she also doesn’t have any illusions about him. Anna says she’s glad to hear that. Anyway, Laura wanted to ask her something. Laura says she just wanted to know whether or not Anna has heard from Valentin, and Anna says she hasn’t. Laura says, it’s not right that Charlotte isn’t here, and Anna says, she should be here.

Terry says, if Steven hasn’t been in touch with his mother, why did he show up today? and Elizabeth says, maybe he heard she was being released. They really didn’t get a chance to talk. Heather dominated the conversation. Terry says, knowing Heather, she’s not surprised. Is he staying? Elizabeth says she doubts it. He got a job in Sedona, and she thinks he likes it there. Terry says, it’s probably for the best, and Elizabeth says, even so, seeing him today, she got the feeling he was here to fix things. Terry says she’s not sure anyone can fix Heather, and Elizabeth says, although having him here means she doesn’t have to deal with Heather on her own. Terry says, how about when he leaves? and Elizabeth says she doesn’t know. Now that she’s free, who knows what she’ll do next?

Steven says he and Heather are going to make a new start in Sedona. He’s sure she can find a job, at least until her settlement comes in. She says she doesn’t want to go to Sedona. She hates turquoise jewelry. Why can’t he stay here? He says he told her, he has a job, but she says, he could get a job here. He’s a brilliant doctor. GH would be happy to take him back. He says he doesn’t live here anymore, and he loves his new job, and she says she thinks she knows what this is about. He’s still hung up on Olivia. He says he won’t talk about Olivia with her. That subject is off limits. Don’t bring her up again and don’t go near her ever. She says, if he’s that upset about it still, why is he here? Why does he want her to come live with him in Arizona? He says, they both need to make amends and they’re family. Families stick together. She puts her hand on his and says, yeah, they do. But that’s exactly why she can’t go with him. Part of her family is still here. She would love nothing more than to make up the time that they didn’t have together. She loves him, but she can’t leave Ace.

On the phone in her office, Nina says she wants the magazine to have a four-page tutorial on how to achieve the makeup look that’s on the runways during Fashion Week. And if Petra can emphasize Deception, that would be a big favor. Sasha walks in, and Nina says she’s going to need to call Petra back. She asks Sasha, what is it? and Sasha says she’s been lying to Nina for a long time and it’s big. Nina says, okay. About what? Sasha says she told Nina that her mother was dead, but the truth is, Sasha only wished she was. She’s alive and well. Nina says, okay, and Sasha says, Nina doesn’t hate her? Nina says, if she can get past Sasha lying about being her daughter, she can get past this, and Sasha thanks her. Nina asks why she’s confessing all of this now, and Sasha says, because her mother is back in her life. She’s in Port Charles, and her name is Holly Sutton.

Holly says she can’t believe Cody is satisfied as the Quartermaine stableboy. Tracy alone is reason enough to want out of this place. He says, all the Quartermaines have been good to him, but she says, it’s not exactly the life the Ice Princess would have given him, is it? He says, dreams change. He found a great family he didn’t even know he had, and he’s with an amazing woman, who for some reason, thinks he’s a good guy. She says, that sounds wonderful, but she knows a man in Westchester, a very rich man with a little gambling problem, who wouldn’t blink at losing a few million dollars. She’s asked around, and he has a certain reputation as a poker player. He says, and she doesn’t play, but she says, it’s a two-person job. He says, risk? and she says, minimal. Besides, anyone who’s played for Selina Wu can handle himself. 70/30 split. He says, 50/50, and she says, 65/35. Final offer. He asks, why me? and she says, because she recognizes a kindred spirit and thinks they’d make a good team. This mark is a sure thing. What does he say?

Laura tells Anna, it’s not just that Charlotte isn’t with her mother when she should be. It’s not good for her to live her life on the run. And the more she thinks about it, the more angry she is with Valentin that he took her.

Diane tells Alexis, she’s more than aware of Holly’s return. Fortunately, Robert assured her that any romantic feelings he may have had for Holly are well in the past. Alexis says, then she’s happy for Diane, and Diane says she knows what Alexis is thinking. Alexis says she’s not thinking anything, and Diane says, then don’t ever play poker. Alexis says, okay, then what is she thinking? and Diane says, she’s thinking that once upon a time, Robert and Holly were the great loves of each other’s lives. Alexis says, that’s not a secret, and Diane says, it’s also well in the past. Gone are the days when Robert was an international spy and Holly was a globe-trotting con artist. Now Robert is the District Attorney in a town where he’s made a life for himself. And Holly is a… Alexis says, a globe-trotting con artist, and Diane says, exactly. More importantly – most importantly – is how Robert feels about her. The two of them will be going strong long after Holly has left for her next con.

Cody tells Holly, that is tempting, but unfortunately, her info is a little out of date. He doesn’t play cards anymore. She says, in her experience, once a gambler… He says, not in his case. He’s found better ways to spend his time, and he has an amazing woman that makes everything better. So he appreciates the offer, but he’s got everything here he needs. She says, that’s a lovely fairytale, but it would be a shame if this – she gestures, indicating the stables – is where his story ended. He says, she doesn’t like happy endings? and she says she’s partial to cliffhangers (ha-ha-ha!). He says, cliffs aren’t exactly his thing anymore. More importantly, the guy that he used to be isn’t the man he wants to be anymore. He used to spend all his time looking for the next score, and when he finally gave that up, he actually found a life that made him happy. She thinks that’s a line, doesn’t she? She says she’s curious. What brought on this revelation? He says, after that whole thing with the necklace went belly up, he got news that changed his life.

Heather tells Steven that ever since Ace was a little boy, she dreamed of watching her grandson grow up. She wants to be there for all his milestones, like she couldn’t be there for him. Taking his picture on his first day of school; helping him ride his bike. She wants to be the person he comes to when he has his first crush. Steven says, those things are a few years off. Maybe by then… She says, maybe by then what? She’ll be better? The judge said she’s free. She wasn’t responsible for those actions. He says, she did commit those actions. She killed those people. She puts her head in her hands, and he asks if she doesn’t want to leave her past behind and focus on who she is now and not who she was. She says, yeah. When he puts it that way, it makes sense. He says he knows they both did very different things, but people here don’t trust him anymore. That’s why he moved to Arizona and why he wants her to move with him. They can make a new life there, without hurting anyone and without getting hurt themselves. She says, he’d really stay with her? and he says, yes. It would be just her and him. She smiles and says, okay. She’ll go with him. There are some things she should do here first, though. He says, okay.

Nina says, just so she has this straight, Sasha was raised by her grandmother because her mother Holly left Sasha with her. Sasha says, she was a con artist. She knows how hypocritical that is. Nina asks if she’s still conning people, but Sasha says, no, and Nina says, then it’s not hypocritical. Sasha says, when she was a kid, the only time she saw her mother was when her mother wanted to involve her in a scheme. Nina asks how long it’s been since she talked to Holly, and Sasha says, years. Holly reached out a few times, but she never responded. She asks if Nina thinks that was unfair of her, and Nina says, given her history, she just has a hard time not having empathy for a mother who’s estranged from her daughter. But that’s just her. No two moms are the same. Sasha says, her mom only knows how to use people. She does not deserve Nina’s empathy.

Anna says, of course (🍷) Valentin couldn’t have possibly known something like this would happen with Lulu, and Laura says, Valentin didn’t think about anything but himself. She believes he loves Charlotte, but this is so selfish. Anna says, he does know how much Charlotte means to Laura, and this decision he made to leave was made very quickly. Laura says, right, but she knows how resourceful he is. Why couldn’t he get her some kind of message to let her know Charlotte is okay? Anna says, if he truly knew the ramifications of his actions, he might have made a different choice, and Laura laughs and says, maybe. Anna promises Laura that she’ll find Valentin, and she’ll bring Charlotte back to her family.

Steven comes into the hospital with Heather and sees Elizabeth. He says, lookin’ good, Head Nurse Baldwin. She says, welcome back to General Hospital. She still can’t believe he’s here. He says he didn’t know what to expect, seeing this place again, and Elizabeth says her shift is almost over. They can go someplace else. Steven says, no. He’s all right. There’s just a lot of memories. Heather says, they’re not going to be staying long. Actually, they have some exciting news. Elizabeth says, okay… What’s the news? Heather says she doesn’t want Elizabeth to take this personally, because Elizabeth has been so very kind to her, but she actually won’t be staying with Elizabeth after all. Elizabeth covers her mouth to hide her smile, and Heather says, her son is taking her with him to Sedona. She hopes Elizabeth isn’t too upset. They’re just here to say goodbye.

Diane says, she still has a few hours left, and Alexis says she knows. She knows the surgery is routine, but she’s a mother, and surgery is surgery. Diane says, and waiting is always the hardest part, and Alexis suggests they talk about something else. Has she seen Holly yet? Diane says, you are so mean (and I literally lol). Yes, she’s seen Holly. She saw Holly with Sonny. Alexis says she didn’t know Sonny knew Holly. Maybe through Luke or something. Sonny and Holly, that’s weird. Diane says she just hopes Sonny has the good sense to say no to whatever scheme Holly is running. Alexis tells her not to hold her breath. She heard that men have a hard time saying no to Holly Sutton… Men that don’t know her in the same way Robert… Diane says, it’s fine. She trusts Robert, but she’s not stupid. She’s well aware of Holly’s powers of persuasion.

Cody tells Holly that he found out Leopold Taub wasn’t his actual father. He dodged a bullet on that one. He’s a real rotten son of a bitch. Whereas his real dad is a great guy. Does she know Mac Scorpio? She says she does know Mac. The Scorpios are like family to her. He says, then she knows that Mac is kind of a righteous dude. She laughs and says, yes, he is. Cody says he’s already disappointed Mac one too many times. The last thing he wants to do is do it again. He’s got his job, he’s got his family, and he’s got a woman he does not deserve, but he’s going to try and live up to all of it. So while he appreciates the offer, it’s a hard pass.

Nina says, Robert Scorpio? and Sasha says, they’ve been living in the same town for six years and Holly waited until now to tell her that Robert is her father. Nina says, why now? and Sasha says, because of Cody. Nina says, Cody is Mac Scorpio’s son… which makes him… Sasha says, her first cousin, and Nina says she’s so sorry. Sasha says she didn’t want to believe it when Holly first told her, but the DNA test proved it. She can’t help but wonder if this is karmic payback for her pretending to be Nina’s daughter. Nina says, come on. She’s made amends for what she did, and ever since then, she’s been a wonderful friend. Sasha says, when she wasn’t an absolute mess, and Nina says she’s done worse than Sasha, and she’s changed. And Sasha has changed. Maybe their friendship is karma’s way of rewarding them for being better people. Sasha says she never thought of it that way. She wants to think that she’s changed. Nina says, she has changed, and takes Sasha’s hands. She says, why don’t they talk about the real reason Sasha is here? Sasha says she’s here to tell Nina the truth about her mother, and Nina says, she’s also avoiding telling Cody that they can’t be together. Sasha asks how she can tell him. It’s so awful. Nina says she knows it is. It’s really hard, but she has to do it. Putting it off is just going to make it harder.

Anna goes into the conference room and thanks Alexis for waiting. Alexis says, it sounded important, and Anna says, it is. Has Valentin contacted her? Alexis says, no. Why? Anna says she’s trying to find him and Laura needs to let Charlotte know what’s going on with her mother. Alexis says she’d think Anna of all people would know where he was, but Anna says she’s afraid she doesn’t. Alexis says she’ll check the Cassadine holdings and see if there’s something Anna hasn’t checked, and Anna says, that would be amazing. Thank you. Alexis says she’ll do it as soon as she can. She thinks Laura is right. It’s time for Charlotte to come home.

There’s a knock at Robert’s office door, and Diane walks in. She asks, how is her favorite District Attorney? and he says he feels like he just got kicked in the gut by a roo. She says, why? What happened? He says he got some news. Actually, amazing news. Diane says, let’s hear it, and he says he’s got another daughter. She says, another daughter? Has he met this foundling? He says, yes, and so has she, and Diane says she’s intrigued. Who is it? He says, Sasha Corbin, and her mouth drops open. He says he knows. He’s surprised too. She says, that’s a word for it. Did Sasha know? He says, she thought her father was dead. Her mother just recently said, that is not the case. Diane asks, who’s her mother? and he says, Holly. Diane throws her hand up and says, yeah.

Holly tells Cody that he’s walking away from more than a million dollars. She hopes this woman of his is worth it. He says, she’s worth everything. Sasha is the best thing that’s ever happened to him. Holly looks pained, and he asks, what’s wrong? Sasha walks in and asks what the hell Holly is doing here. Holly says, sweetheart… and Sasha says, no. Not one word. Now get out. Cody says, Sash… but Holly says, it’s fine. She’ll go. Sasha yells, out! and Holly leaves. Cody says, so Sasha clearly knows her, and Sasha says she knows her all right. He says, fill me in. What did she do to Sasha for Sasha to tear into her like that? Sasha says, that woman is her mother, and something is very, very wrong.

Heather tells Elizabeth that Steven helped her to see that it wouldn’t be right for her to stay in Port Charles. Not for her or the people that she hurt. Elizabeth says she thinks that’s wise, but Heather says, Port Charles is the only place she’s ever known as home. It’s going to be so hard to say goodbye. Laura comes out of the elevator, and Heather runs up to her. Heather says she’s so glad Laura is here.

On Monday, Dante asks if Steven thinks he’s actually going to get Heather to leave; Nina tells Drew that they have a major problem; Sonny says, if he’s going to help Holly, she has to make it worth his while; and Cody says he doesn’t want to be Sasha’s friend.

🎃 I’ve Got a Little List…

As promised, my list of good scares, and a few laughs, for Halloween. Trick ‘r Treat – an anthology of several stories tied together by mysterious figure Sam (see below). You will never look at a school bus the same way again; 13 Ghosts (2001) – a widower inherits a house that’s already inhabited. The amazing house alone is worth a look, but the ghosts are creepy AF (see below for their bios).; Quentin Tarantino’s Grindhouse – a drive-in movie double feature of Death Proof and Planet Terror, about a serial killer (remarkably played by Kurt Russell) and a zombie invasion respectively; Reeker – a better film than the unfortunate title would suggest. Basically, a road trip gone bad, but it kept me guessing until the end; Cabin in the Woods – a friend group takes a vacation in a cabin where there’s more than meets the eye. Not only is it funny, it has some of the best special effects I’ve ever seen. I’d read the book first and thought, there’s no way the final scene could be translated to film. I was wrong.; Dawn of the Dead (1978 and 2004) – both films are great in different ways, but both involve zombies invading a deserted mall. While the 2004 version is missing the statement on consumerism, it’s still an excellent film and I love Ving Rhames; John Carpenter’s They Live – the late Roddy Piper discovers subliminal messages and an alien invasion by using a pair of dark glasses. Creepy on more than one level.; and The Midnight Hour – an old TV movie, but my absolute Halloween favorite. Some high school students unleash the dead by reciting an ancient incantation in a graveyard. I have a bootleg DVD, since it’s been hard to find in the past, but it’s on YouTube now. Somewhat corny, but fun, with moments of great creepiness, and a little bit sad at the end, this one just screams Halloween to me.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

At the MetroCourt bar, Violet finishes another Shirley Temple, and tells Finn, that was delicious. She asks for another, and he says, she knows it’s 100% sugar, right? She nods enthusiastically, when Chase comes up behind her, and says, guess who? She says, Uncle Chase! and he asks what they’re doing at the bar. She says, they’re having cocktails before dinner. Everybody knows that’s when you have cocktails. He says, we already know that, do we? He asks if they’ve seen Brook, and Violet says, Brook bought her a Shirley Temple. Finn says he didn’t know Brook was joining them, and Chase asks if it’s okay. Finn says, absolutely. He last saw her by the pool with Tracy. Chase says he’d better rescue her… He’d better find her.

Tracy asks, why on earth would Brook confess to downloading proprietary information on The Deceptor? Why didn’t she just let Maxie take the fall? Brook says, because she has a conscience? A soul? A shred of decency? Tracy says, and she doesn’t? and Brook says, and she couldn’t stand to see Maxie and Lucy fight. Tracy asks, why not? and Brook says, because she likes them. That’s why she hates doing this so much. Tracy says she thinks Brook misspoke. She loves working at Deception. Otherwise, her boyfriend Detective Chase is going to know just what role Tracy played in getting his badge back. Chase walks in, and says, just the two he was looking for. Finn said they were by the pool. Brook says, they were, but they’re done, and Chase says, good evening, to Tracy. She asks if he had a busy day keeping the citizens of Port Charles safe.

Anna and Jordan sit at a table poolside, and Anna says she’s glad Jordan called. They haven’t really seen one another since her past was splashed across the newspapers. Jordan says, for the record, that’s not why she hasn’t called. Anna says she knows, but it has to be hard to process how she’s going to be friends with… basically a traitor. Jordan says, not for a second. How’s she handling all that? Anna says she guesses she’s been able to wait out her relevance in the news cycle. It’s almost insulting how reporters stop harassing you and just move on to the next thing. Jordan tells Anna to count her blessings, and Anna says her life is probably returning to a new normal. Jordan asks if she thinks it’s normal to find the word murderer spray painted across her front door.

Elizabeth asks how things are with Trina and Curtis, and Portia says, Trina approached her yesterday, and it’s the first time since the wedding. Elizabeth says, that’s amazing, but what about Curtis? and Portia says, they’ve yet to talk… because she’s been avoiding him.

Curtis says, sorry for the interruption, but TJ says, it’s cool. Curtis has a club to run. He should probably be going and get out of Curtis’s hair (which is funny, since Curtis doesn’t have hair). Curtis says he’ll always make time for TJ, and TJ says he appreciates that. Curtis says he appreciates TJ coming to him. TJ and Molly have been dealing with some pretty heavy stuff. TJ says, that’s an understatement, and Curtis says, if TJ wants to talk, he’s here. TJ thanks him, and says, because right now, he doesn’t know how to talk to Molly about having a child or not having a child without making her feel pressured. Curtis says, which reminds him. TJ never answered his question. How would he feel if Molly decides she doesn’t want to have children? The Davis girls walk in, and Molly locks eyes with TJ.

Having dinner at the MetroCourt, Sonny tells Dante that he has a confession to make, and Dante asks if he should take his phone out to record it. Sonny says, it’s nothing like that. He called Dante out to dinner under false pretenses. He needs a favor. He and Nina are getting married, and he wanted to know if Dante wanted to be his best man.

Brook says, nice talking to Tracy, but she and Chase have dinner plans. Tracy says, romantic night? Just the two of them? Chase says, actually, they’re meeting his brother. He and Violet are at the bar. Brook says, they can’t keep them waiting, and she and Chase leave.

Anna asks how Jordan knew about the spray paint on her door, and Jordan says, how does she think? Anna says, Valentin, and Jordan says, he called her before he left town. He told her about the vandalism at Anna’s house. It’s funny. She checked, but there was no police report on the incident. Anna says she didn’t make a report. It’s kids. It’s just a prank. It’s not a major crime. Valentin shouldn’t have bothered Jordan with that. Jordan says, Valentin is worried about her. He feels it’s a bad time to be gone, and from what she’s hearing, she agrees. Anna thanks her for her concern, but surely as the new Deputy Mayor, she’s got bigger things to focus on. How is the new job going? Jordan says, nice try and don’t call her Shirley, but Anna says she’s interested. Jordan is embarking on a whole new career. Jordan says she hasn’t really started yet; there’s not much to tell. Back to Anna. Has their been any fallout from the article? What about from her family? Anna says, nobody’s thrilled. Robin understands, but Emma… It’s more difficult with her. She’s just hoping with time, Emma gives her the benefit of the doubt. And her friends are her friends. Jordan takes Anna’s hands, and says she’ll always be one of them. Anna says she’s grateful for that, and she does feel, as lucky as she is with the people who love her, there are those that are really angry, and they have a right to be. Because she did hurt a lot of people. Jordan says, that was a long time ago. She’s helped countless others since then, and what she did was dangerous, no matter whose side she was on. Anna says she was on both. Ask Robin. Jordan says, undercover work is risky and complicated, both physically and emotionally. It takes a toll on you, your relationships, your whole life. Believe her. She knows. Anna says she knows Jordan does. What is she looking forward to in this new job? Jordan says, honestly, she’s hoping it will distract her from the rest of her life, and Anna says, what happened with her and the… Jordan says, the kiss, and Anna says, yeah, that. Jordan says, yes and no.

Curtis says he sees the Davis women showed up in full force tonight, and Alexis says, they sure did. Molly asks what TJ is doing here, and Alexis suggests they get a table, and let Molly and TJ have some privacy. Curtis says he’ll set them up. First drinks are on him. Kristina says, he should know, they’re drinking champagne, and Alexis says, club soda for her. Curtis says he’d expect nothing less, and tells them to enjoy their night. They go to their table, and Curtis asks if he can talk to Sam. She asks, what’s up? and he says he just wanted to check in; how’s Drew? She says, that’s a good question. Her head is still spinning. She doesn’t know how Drew’s plea deal went so wrong. Curtis says he heard that judge might be running for office, so maybe the judge wanted to prove he wasn’t soft on white collar crimes. She says, it still doesn’t justify Drew missing three years of his daughter’s life.

TJ says he’s sorry. He just came to talk to his Uncle Curtis. he was planning on leaving before she got here. He guesses he lost track of time. She’s here now, so he guesses he’ll head out. He tells her to have fun with her mom and sisters, and he’ll see her at home. Okay? She says, nothing about this is okay.

Dante says he’ll be honored to be Sonny’s best man, and Sonny says he appreciates Dante’s support when it comes to his relationship with Nina. Dante says, you got to do what makes you happy. Does he know when the big day is? Sonny says, sometime in the fall, and Dante says, pretty close. Sonny says, they want to keep it simple. Nina doesn’t want a big wedding. Dante asks if that’s the only reason, and Sonny asks if Dante thinks no one is going to show up at his wedding. Dante laughs, and says, Sonny could have a point, but that’s not what he was saying. Does Sonny think he should keep a low profile about this wedding because there could be trouble?

Elizabeth says, the last time she and Portia talked about Curtis, Portia was afraid she’d say something out of anger she didn’t mean. She doesn’t know what happened between them, but is Portia still angry… Portia says, yes, and Elizabeth says, no hesitation there. Portia says she’s angry and extremely hurt. The whole situation is sad, and she misses Curtis and knows that they need to talk. A part of her is worried that maybe it’s already too late. Given everything that’s already happened, and given everything they’ve done to each other at this point, do they even want to try again? Elizabeth says, that’s why Portia’s been avoiding him, and Portia says she knows they need to talk. Elizabeth says she totally gets why they haven’t, and why Portia keeps putting it off. After so much hurt, she has to consider is it even fair to ask him to risk his heart again. Portia asks if Elizabeth and Finn are talking about getting back together again, but Elizabeth says, they’re talking about Portia. Portia says, Elizabeth and Finn are getting closer again, aren’t they? and Elizabeth says, they have been talking about doing stuff together as a family for the kids. Portia says, that’s good, and Elizabeth says, it is, but she doesn’t think she should push it. It isn’t just about her and Finn. Violet’s happiness is also at stake. That little girl wants her and her dad to get back together so badly, she arranged for them to go on a date last night. Portia says, that sweet faced little girl is absolutely sneaky, and Elizabeth says, she is. After dinner, Finn just kept apologizing for Violet having the wrong idea about them. And if he wants to just be friends, she doesn’t want to jeopardize that. If they were to try again, and for some reason Elizabeth couldn’t make it work, she doesn’t want to be responsible for breaking that little girl’s heart again. Portia asks if it’s really Violet’s heart Elizabeth is worried about breaking, or is it her own?

Violet says, Chase lost Brook, and Finn says, Chase just found her. How did he lose her again so fast? Chase says, she told him she had something urgent, and asks, where’s dad? Finn says, he should be here any minute, and Violet says, grandpa’s sleeping over tonight. Does Uncle Chase want to sleep over too? He can bring Brook. Chase says, another time. How’s this weekend? She asks if he promises, when Tracy comes over. She says, they meet again, and Finn says, it’s been a whole twenty minutes, but always a pleasure. Violet says, Auntie Tracy, look. They’re having cocktails. Tracy says, you’re starting early, but Violet says, it’s not early; it’s almost dinnertime. Tracy says, that’s not what she meant, but she won’t intrude. She just wants to get some take-out. She hates dining alone. Violet says, she doesn’t have to eat alone, and asks Finn if Auntie Tracy can have dinner with them. Finn says he doesn’t think she’d… and Tracy says she’d loved to. She thanks Violet for her kind invitation, and Violet says, now they’ll have the same number of boys and girls. Tracy says, but Brook is joining them, and Violet says she knows. It will be Uncle Chase and Brook, her and Daddy, and Auntie Tracy and… grandpa! She runs over to Gregory, and he picks her up. Tracy says, this is going to be fun, and Chase asks Gregory how it’s going.

Molly says she can’t believe it’s come to this, and TJ says he swears he wasn’t trying to intrude on her night out. He knows she needs time. She says, that’s not why she’s upset. She’s upset because he thought he needed to sneak out before she got here. Has she made him feel like she can’t stand to be around him? He says, she hasn’t, but to be fair, she didn’t seem all that happy to see him. She says she was just surprised, and he says, then demanding to know what he’s doing here at his uncle’s club. She says she thought maybe this was… He says, like an ambush? and she says, maybe. Everything is so scrambled right now, but one thing she does know is that she’d never want to chase him away. He says, and he wants he to know that he’d understand if she needs some time away from him, but she says she’d never need that. What she needs is a break from her fertility issues, but not from her life partner; never from him. She would never want to shut him out, but if he wants to talk, they should talk. He says, not tonight. She needs a break. Go have fun. She says, only if he stays, and he says, if she insists, and they kiss.

Coming out of the elevator, Brook sees Tracy sitting down for dinner, and says, why God? What have I done to deserve this? On second thought, God, don’t answer that. At the table, Gregory says he didn’t realize Tracy was joining them, and Tracy says, how could she refuse his delightful granddaughter’s invitation? Brook comes over to the table, and Gregory says, speaking of delightful granddaughters… Tracy asks how many he has, and Brook says, he was talking about her. Chase says, she is delightful, and Finn says, now that she’s finally here, try not to lose her again. Chase says, never, and Tracy says she needs a drink. What’s everybody having? Violet says, the Shirley Temples are delightful (WOTD), and Tracy says she needs something stronger. Much, much stronger.

Elizabeth says she doesn’t want to hurt Finn, Violet, or her boys any more than she already has, and Portia says, she’s making it seem like everything that went down was her fault. Elizabeth says, wasn’t it though? but Portia says, no. From what she recalls, they both made plenty of mistakes, and they both were trying to protect people they care about, including one another. What if Finn does wants to try it out again? (Um.. it’s not a car.) Elizabeth says, what if he doesn’t? and Portia says she knows how hard it can be to put your heart on the line. She let her fear come between her and Curtis, and now she’ll never know what would have happened if she’d just told Curtis the truth from the beginning. And Elizabeth will never know what’s going to happen if she doesn’t tell Finn how she really feels. Elizabeth says, Portia’s right. She’s going for it. She walks out the door, and Portia says, she’s going for it right now? Elizabeth says, if she doesn’t do it right now, she’s going to lose her nerve. She knows Finn and Violet are having a date right now at the MetroCourt. So she’s just going to head over there, and see what happens. Portia says, that’s a great idea, but why doesn’t Elizabeth go home first, take a shower, and put something on she feels good in, and then meet him? She can show him what he’s really missing. Elizabeth says she has a better idea.

Anna says, Portia’s brother? To get over Curtis, Jordan slept with… Jordan says, his brother-in-law. Anna says, whoa, and Jordan says she knows; she was there. Had she known who he was, she certainly wouldn’t have told him that she recently kissed her ex-husband. Anna says, would she have slept with him anyway? and Jordan says, no… No. The point is that when Zeke realized who she was, he told Portia about the kiss. Anna says, no, and Jordan says, which was completely unnecessary. Curtis decided he wants to saved his marriage, which is the only reason she was with Zeke in the first place. Anna says, it’s the only reason? and Jordan says, well, not the only reason. Zeke is charming… and funny… and… Anna says, is he hot? and Jordan says, stupidly hot. There’s no reason he should be related to anyone she knows, but it doesn’t really matter now. Anna asks if Zeke left town or something, and Jordan sees Zeke walk in.

Dante says, something went down the night of the Nurses Ball; there were shots fired in the warehouse district; Sonny’s been beefing up his security detail. That’s the word on the street. Sonny says he doesn’t know what to tell Dante, and Dante asks, where’s Dex? Sonny says, why? and Dante says, he’s usually joined at Sonny’s hip. He was even staying with Sonny for a while, wasn’t he? Sonny says, what’s with the questions? What is Dante fishing for?

Sonny says he invited Dante here ask him to be his best man, and Dante says, and he proudly accepted. Sonny says, so what’s with all the questions? Unless the PCPD is trying to pin something on him. Dante says he’s not trying to pin anything on Sonny. They have an agreement, right? Sonny says, right, and Dante says, Sonny doesn’t tell him about his business, and he doesn’t ask. Sonny says, but here he is asking, and Dante says he’s not asking as a cop; he’s asking as Sonny’s son. He doesn’t want details. He’s just noticed some changes in Sonny’s routine. Sonny says he has everything under control. Dante doesn’t have to worry about it. Dante says he can’t help it, and Sonny asks if it’s because he’s a cop. Dante says, no. Because he’s Sonny’s son.

Violet shows Tracy some stuff on her phone, and everyone is laughing and having a good time. Chase asks if Brook is feeling okay, and she says she guesses. She’s sorry her grandmother hijacked their dinner. He says he’s kind of surprised she stayed. Brook doesn’t think… No. That’s a crazy idea. She says, what? and he says he’s just wondering. Does she think Tracy’s lonely? Brook says, she’s something all right.

In the hallway with Curtis, Sam says, so how are things going between him, Trina, and Portia? Curtis says, things with him and Trina were going good, but now he’s messed things up with Portia. She asks what he messed up, and he says he just hopes he and Trina can get through it. He always Admired Portia and Trina’s relationship, and subconsciously, he always knew if he was to establish a relationship with Trina, it would be secondary. There’s something about knowing that she’s his daughter, that he’s her biological father, that makes it different. Sam says she gets that. Before he found out, Portia connected him to Trina, but now he has his own connection whether he and Portia stay together or not. He says he sure hopes they do. He just hopes he and Trina can learn to be father and daughter no matter what. She says, they will, and he asks how she knows. She says she knows him, and that gives her faith that things will work out. He says, sometimes it feels like it takes a lifetime to get to know someone. Then you look back, and you realize it’s just a blink of an eye. Take his father for instance. He thought he’d never let that man back in his life after he abandoned them, but look at them now. He just wishes he’d let Marshall in sooner. She says, exactly, and sooner or later, Trina is going to realize that. Then she’s going to regret all the time she spent being angry at Curtis and judging him. Because in the end, we never have enough time with the people we love.

In the locker room, a nurse tells Portia, looking good, and asks if she’s going home. Portia says, nope. She’s going out. The nurse says, good for her, and Portia heads out.

Anna asks if that’s him, and Jordan says, mm-hm. Zeke comes over to the table, and says hi to Jordan. Jordan introduces her good friend Anna to Portia’s brother Zeke. Anna says, nice to meet him, and he says he didn’t mean to interrupt. Anna says she has to make a phone call, and Jordan says, really? Anna says, really, so if they’ll excuse her… She leaves, and Jordan says, he doesn’t have to stay. He says he knows his timing was bad, coming to her office when Curtis was there, and she says, ya think so? He asks her to please hear him out.

Anna calls Sonny, and asks where he is. She has to talk to him about something. He says he’s with Dante at the MetroCourt. They’re just wrapping up dinner. He can come to her. Where is she? She says she’s here too; she’s up by the pool. He says he’ll be there.

Zeke says he knows Jordan is mad about him telling his sister that she kissed Curtis, but she says she’s not mad at him. He asks if she’s sure. She seemed mad. She still seems mad. She says she was mad at him because he didn’t give her a heads up, not because he told Portia about her and Curtis. Portia is his sister, and he wants to protect her. She gets that. If Portia had found out about the kiss and he didn’t tell her, she’d feel betrayed. And family like that shouldn’t keep secrets from each other. Zeke barely knows her. He says he’d like to change that, now that they’ve cleared the air. Let’s just start over. She says she thinks it’s a little late for that, and he says, it doesn’t have to be, but it’s up to her. How about it? Will she give him another chance?

Dante asks if Sonny is cool with Anna, and Sonny says, she’s good. She just wants to talk to him. He and Dante are good? Dante says, they’re great. He just wants Sonny to be careful. Sonny says, Dante too. She’s by the pool. Does he want to say hi? Dante says he’d like to, but he should be getting home with dessert for the kids. Especially Scout; she could use the pick-me-up. Sonny asks how she’s doing, and Dante says, she’s doing her best, but not great. It’s tough. Sonny says, give her his love, and Dante says, same with Anna. Keep him posted with what he and Nina got going. He doesn’t want to be shirking his duties as best man. They hug, and Sonny leaves.

Gregory asks Brook how it is being back at Deception, and Brook says she’s glad to be back. Tracy says, things must be very busy over there with the success of their new product. What is it called?… The Deceptor. Brook says, yes, they’re very busy, and Gregory says, last time they spoke, she was excited about focusing on her song writing. Will she still be able to do that if she’s working full-time?

Anna thanks Sonny for meeting her, and he says she looks good. She thanks him, and says, better than she did the other night probably. She thanks him for coming over when he did. It made her feel a little less lonely. He says, she didn’t have to see him to thank him, but she says, that’s not what she’s doing. She has a message from Valentin.

Zeke says, his and Jordan’s night together wasn’t just about sex. At least not for him. She says, it was for her… At least that’s what she wanted it to be. He says, but it wasn’t. He thought they at least had some potential. Before everything that went down, before all that crazy, he was looking forward to seeing her again. She says, for what it’s worth (🍷), she felt the same way, and he says, great. Then let’s start over. She says she just started a new job, and she’s beyond busy, and he says, he’s a lawyer. He’s always busy too. But they’re both pretty free right now. Have dinner with him.

Alexis asks Kristina to tell her about the plans for the shelter, and Kristina says she’s glad Alexis asked. She had a really interesting lunch with the head of the food pantry. Alexis says, where she’s volunteering, and Kristina says, he really helped her understand the whole manpower end of things, like how much staff they have to hire, and what tasks volunteers can handle. Alexis says, that’s great, and Kristina says, it’s a lot, but now that she understands what she’s up against, she thinks she can pull this off. Alexis says she knows Kristina can pull this off, and she’s very proud of her. Kristina says, this may come as a shock, but she’s proud of herself too. Getting this shelter off the ground is going to be a lot of work, way more than she imagined, but she’s going to see this through to the end. Alexis says she knew if Kristina found the right thing, she would soar, and Kristina says she doesn’t know if she’s soaring. She doesn’t know if she’s even on the runway. There’s so much she doesn’t know. Alexis says, if she doesn’t know, she’ll learn. If it’s too much, she can hire someone to advise her. She knows this is going to be great. Kristina can do this. Kristina thanks her.

Tracy says, Brook is just being practical. It’s always good to have back-up when you’re working in the arts. Gregory hopes she keeps writing songs. He really enjoys listening to them, especially when Chase is singing. Chase says, inspiration happens when it happens. Brook can do anything she sets her mind to. Whatever it is, it will work out. Brook says, Finn’s been quiet, and Chase asks how she can tell. Brook asks what he’s been up to, and Finn says, besides work, nothing much. Violet says, daddy, tell them about your date.

TJ asks if the shelter will provide basic medical care, and Kristina says she wants it to. LGBTQIA+ teens tend to avoid going to doctors because they’re concerned their gender identity isn’t going to be accepted, but she doesn’t know if it’s feasible. TJ says, let him know if he can help on that end, or anything at all. Whatever she needs. Kristina thanks him, and Molly says, he should be on the board. Kristina says, it’s not for profit, so she needs to assemble a board before she breaks ground; before she does anything really. Alexis says, she can’t do everything herself. She’s running a business. She’s the boss. Delegation is the key. Molly asks, who is she and what has she done with their mother? and Kristina says she’s worried that she’ll miss being with the kids directly and helping them, being behind a desk all day. Sam comes back with Curtis, and says, then plan it. That’s what mom or Molly would do. Molly says, she has to set time aside on her schedule to talk to the kids one-on-one, and TJ says, that way she can see what kids need more structure, and the ones who need more freedom. Curtis tells TJ, let’s get that champagne, and TJ leaves with him. By the bar, Curtis asks if things are good with TJ and Molly, and TJ says, somehow, they are. Curtis was right; they’ll get through this. He doesn’t know if a kid is in his future, but Molly definitely is. Curtis says he’s glad, and asks if TJ minds if he takes off. TJ says, no, and thanks him for listening. Curtis says, any time, and TJ asks where he’s headed. Curtis says he thinks it’s time he takes his own advice, and leaves.

The champagne has been poured, and TJ is back at the table. Molly asks if he’s ready to dance, and he says he thought she’d never ask. Molly asks if the others are coming, but Sam and Alexis beg off. Kristina says she’ll be there in a minute, and Molly says, don’t wait too long. She and TJ go onto the dance floor. Sam says, it looks like Molly is feeling better, and Alexis says she’s glad Molly is giving herself a break from all the pressure she’s putting on herself. Kristina says she wants to really make sure Molly knows she’s not alone in this, but Sam says, Molly knows they all have her back. Kristina says, of course (🍷). She knows that it’s their decision, but she wishes they’d move forward with having a baby. Sam says, so does she, if that’s what makes them happy, but she doesn’t want to pressure them about anything. Kristina says, of course (🍷), of course (🍷). She knows, but just wishes they could help make their decision easier… That’s it. Why didn’t she think of that before?

Anna says, obviously Sonny is aware Valentin went with Laura to find her son, right? and Sonny says, Charlotte’s staying with Sam and Dante. Dante filled him in, but he’s surprised that Valentin would have her pass along a message. He and Valentin don’t really say much to each other. Anna says, normally, she wouldn’t be a go-between with something quite so precarious, not even for Valentin, and Sonny says, why now? She says, Sonny is involved in a business venture with Valentin? Or rather, Valentin is involved with him. This is all she knows. She doesn’t know any of the details. She doesn’t think she really wants to. But right before he left, Valentin gave her the message. Knowing Sonny would rather do any kind of business in person than over the phone, he wanted her to pass on the message. Sonny says, go ahead, and she says, he’s not to speak to anyone new. If his contact person is to change, do not proceed until he’s spoken with his original contact person. Does that make sense? Sonny says, yeah, and she asks, does he want to tell her what’s going on with Valentin? Why Sonny would be in any kind of business with him?

Jordan says she doesn’t know how this is going to work, and Zeke says, only one way to find out, right? She says, and then what? This situation is just too messy. He says, when she told him that she was done with her ex, did she mean it? and she says, they are over. Whatever happens between Portia and Curtis, she’s moving on. He says, then what’s stopping them from seeing each other? and she says, reality? She’s sure Portia’s already given him an earful on why he should avoid her like the plague. He says he doesn’t let his family dictate who he sees. Does she? She says she doesn’t want to cause problems between him and his sister, and he says, Portia will cope. Portia walks in, and Jordan says, you think so? He turns and sees her.

Violet yawns, and Finn says he thinks someone’s tired and they’re going to be heading home. He reaches for Violet, who insists she’s not tired, as we all did at her age, and he picks her up. Tracy thanks him so much for allowing her to join his family for dinner, and he says, it was surprisingly fun having her here. She says, for her as well, and thanks him. She looks at Gregory, and says, and you? He says, yes? and she says, he’s a lucky man. He says he knows, and thanks her. He tells Chase that he’ll see him at the next tea party, and tells Brook, it’s always a pleasure. She says, he can’t imagine how nice that is to hear, and he says he thinks he can. He leaves with Finn and Violet, and Tracy says she’ll see Brook at home. Don’t stay out too late. She has work tomorrow. Brook says, goodnight, granny, I laugh, and Tracy leaves. Brook asks what Chase says about her and him getting a nightcap at the pool bar, and he says he’d love to. She says, great. The sooner, the better. He says, there’s something he needs to ask her first.

Elizabeth comes out of the elevator, and sees Finn, who says, hi. Violet says, she looks like a princess, and Elizabeth thanks her. Finn says, she looks beautiful, and she thanks him. She asks if they’re leaving, and Gregory says he and Violet are heading home, but Finn can stay. Finn says, he can stay? and Violet nods. Finn tells Elizabeth that he can stay, and hands off Violet to Gregory.

Brook says, whatever it is, can she and Chase talk about it on the way to the bar? and he asks, what’s going on with her? Something’s been off with her all evening. She says she knows, and her name is granny. She’s always on edge around her. Chase says, it’s not just Tracy. When his dad asked Brook about her job, he knew he was right. She says, about what? and he says, her work at Deception. Her heart’s not in it. She doesn’t want to be there. Brook says, of course (🍷) she does. It’s a day job. He says, exactly. She’d rather be writing music and managing artists. So he has to ask; why did she go back?

Kristina says, it solves so many problems. It’s perfect. Alexis says she shudders to think. What? Sam says, what’s her big idea? and Kristina says she can be Molly and TJ’s surrogate. Molly overhears.

Portia says, so this is why Zeke isn’t taking her calls. He’s on a little date with Jordan? Jordan says, that’s not what’s… She and Portia both see Curtis walk in.

Sonny asks what else Valentin said, when Dante walks in. He looks up, and yells, everybody down! We hear a gunshot.

On Monday, Spencer tells Esme, this is him cooperating; TJ asks why Molly doesn’t want to be around her mom and her sisters; Dex asks if Sonny is okay; and Chase reports that shots were fired at the MetroCourt pool.

Maybe you can afford to wait. Maybe for you there’s a tomorrow. Maybe for you there’s one thousand tomorrows, or three thousand, or ten, so much time you can bathe in it, roll around it, let it slide like coins through your fingers. So much time you can waste it. What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

At John F. Kennedy High school in Jacksonville, Drew asks if Carly forgot they’re supposed to meet the reporter at Virginia’s grave in 45 minutes. She says, her mom’s grave is less than 10 minutes from here, and he says he’s guessing this is where she went to high school. She nods, and says she had no intention of ever coming back. They were driving by, and she just needed to see this. She needed to see the spot where her life changed in an instant. So, they were in the same car? Did she just yell, stop, and jump out?

Ava goes into Ryan’s room, and asks if he’s surprised to see her. Knowing that Doc comes in from time to time, she’s updated on his condition, but she just had to see for herself. Doc assures her that he’s still incapable of movement, but she knows how deceitful Ryan is. She never really bought it. She still thinks he could be faking it.

Outside Kelly’s, Victor thanks Nikolas for meeting him, and Nikolas says, like he had a choice. Why has Victor summoned him? Victor says, Nikolas needs to divorce Ava – immediately.

Sitting in a private area at the MetroCourt, Valentin says, Michael is working hard at Aurora; the stock’s up. Michael says, it’s no secret they took a hit when Valentin blocked the merger, but they’re going in the right direction. Valentin says, in no small part thanks to Michael, but Michael says, Drew is doing a great job. He knows what he’s doing. Valentin says, the reason he wanted to meet with Michael is, he thinks Michael’s talents could be better utilized elsewhere. He wants Michael to consider leaving Aurora, and coming back to ELQ full time.

Carver asks Josslyn, what’s the matter; cat got her tongue? Who is she? She says, she’s Josslyn Jax, Sonny’s stepdaughter. She knows most of his guys. Is he new? He says he’s the new chef. He’s just getting the tools of his trade in peak condition. She says she left her jacket here. She’s just going to go grab it. He says, no, she won’t.

Looking pretty worn out, Dex sings The Star Spangled Banner. Wow. I never even noticed he’s hanging in a freezer. Isn’t it cold in there? Why does no one seem cold? Is this a freezer just dedicated to hanging people up? While I’m on the subject, does anyone outside of Sonny’s friends and family eat at this restaurant?

On the phone at the hospital, Sonny says, they’re taking Diane off the ventilator. He’ll call with an update when he gets one. TJ comes out and joins Sonny, along with Dante and Robert. TJ says, Diane is breathing on her own. She’s conscious, although she’s still pretty groggy. Sonny asks if he can see her, but Robert says he’s going to have to wait. If she’s up to it, he has a few questions. TJ gestures for him to go in.

Diane says, Mr. District Attorney. To what does she owe the pleasure? He says he has a good mind to book her for malicious intent. She scared the life out of them. She says she was attacked with a hook, just like Ava and Brando, and he sits down, saying, unfortunately, but she’s a tough cookie. He knows she just woke up, but tell him what she remembers.

Carly says she used to be a cheerleader. Did she ever tell Drew that? He says he doesn’t believe so, and she says, she and Reese made the varsity squad their freshman year; it was quite an accomplishment. I’d say so. I’ve never been a cheerleader, but I don’t think freshmen are normally on the varsity squad. He says, Peyton’s daughter, and she says, they were best, best friends. They were so close, like Josslyn and Trina close. Reese had it going on; country club girl, pretty, popular. It’s probably why they made the squad. Although Carly was a much better athlete and much better cheerleader, even if she does say so herself. He says he has no doubt, and she says, Reese gave her access to a life she wouldn’t have been able to touch. She was so grateful for that. They loved each other like besties, and by junior year, they ran that squad. Until that afternoon. Reese had been ignoring her all day. It was after practice, and Reese, Jody, Lisa, and her were headed to Reese’s car. She realized she forgot her sweater, and went back to grab it. When she came back to Reese’s car, the girls were already in the convertible, and she could tell Reese was talking about her; they were all laughing and whispering. Just like that, Reese looked at her, started the car, and pulled away. It was deliberate. She wanted Carly to know she was leaving her on purpose, and Carly yelled, I hope you crash and burn. Ten seconds later, Reese pulled onto the parkway, right in front of a semi. She saw the whole thing happen. Reese’s convertible disintegrated into a twisted pile of metal. Two girls dead and one in a coma, and Carly stood on this spot without a scratch on her.

Nikolas says he’s not divorcing Ava, and Victor says, come on. Nikolas and Ava have been on the brink of divorce at least three times to his knowledge. It’s time they just got on with it. Nikolas says, aside from the fact he loves his wife, they’re staying married to protect Ava. Victor says, Nikolas is referring to spousal privilege. It’s true as Ava’s husband Nikolas can’t be compelled to testify that he saw Ava and Esme struggling just before Esme plunged to her death. Nikolas tells him to keep his voice down. Why is he bringing that up? Victor assures him that they’re quite alone, but Nikolas says, this conversation’s over. He and Ava are remaining married. Nikolas starts to leave, and Victor says, Nikolas seems to be under the misconception that he has a choice in the matter. He doesn’t.

Ava says she’ll check to see how in control Ryan really is, and snaps her fingers in front of his face, then claps. He blinks once, and she says, that’s convincing enough. She drags a chair over, and grabs her side, saying, she may have overdone it there. That’s right. He doesn’t know about her injury, does he? Some maniac attacked her with a hook. But he knows all about that, doesn’t he? He used a hook on at least one of his victims, so she has to wonder, would he use one on her too, if he could get out of that chair?

Diane tells Robert, she was at Brando’s garage because she’d gone there to see Sasha. She’d been asked to file a continuance concerning Sasha’s guardianship. Sasha didn’t know where the papers were, but thought there was a copy in Brando’s office. He asks, what happened then?

Sonny says, Robert’s in there questioning Diane, and she’s not up for it. She’s still recovering. TJ says, she was stable when he left. He thinks she can handle it. Dante says, Diane is tough, and Sonny says, she’s tough in the courtroom; she’s like a barracuda. But she didn’t have a defense against whoever attacked her with that hook. Dante says, she survived, and if she can ID the attacker, they can finally get ahead of this psycho. Sonny says, give it their best shot, go through all the channels, but he’s telling Dante, he’s going to do what he has to do to make sure Diane gets justice.

Michael says he didn’t see that one coming. Why would Valentin want to bring him back on board after everything he’s done to get ELQ? He tore Michael’s family apart, and he’s sure Valentin doesn’t trust him. Valentin says he trusts Michael. Michael and Drew almost got the better of him, fair and square. It was a strong countermove, and it would have worked if Valentin hadn’t had Ned. Michael asks, why risk alienating Ned by bringing him back on board? and Valentin says, he knows ultimately that Michael will put the good of ELQ first. Michael says, good luck explaining that to Ned, and Valentin says he expects there to be pushback, and he’ll handle that. Michael has expertise Ned lacks. Michael says, that’s always been the case, so what changed? and asks if the company is in trouble, but Valentin says, it’s stronger than ever. He has certain operations he’s undertaking that are at a critical juncture, and he doesn’t want ELQ to suffer. Michael says, Valentin could always step aside, and Valentin says he’s not interested in giving up CEO, but come back to ELQ. He promises he and Michael will both have the time and the resources to devote to their outside projects.

Josslyn asks Carver, what part of her stepfather is his boss is unclear? and he says, Mr. Corinthos isn’t here. He can’t let her have free reign in the restaurant or his workspace, so today, her access is denied. As for Mr. Corinthos’s office, she’ll need his permission to go in there. She says, Sonny won’t be happy to hear he gave her a hard time, and Carver says, she thinks this is a hard time? She says, what she thinks is, he’ll regret being so rude to her, and he says he’ll tell Mr. Corinthos she stopped by. She slams out.

Ava tells Ryan that she was attacked on the Quartermaine grounds, at a picnic they were having to benefit GH’s pediatric wing. Josslyn Jax found her, and made sure she got to the hospital. Unfortunately, Sonny’s cousin Brando was attacked a few days later, and tragically, he did not make it. Diane, Sonny’s lawyer, was the most recent victim. So if it isn’t him or some sort of copycat, maybe it’s Sonny that’s the common denominator. In his mind, Ryan says, outrageous. Unacceptable. If anyone is going to gut you with a hook, my love, it’s going to be me. Don’t delude yourself.

Nikolas tells Victor, he’s the one in possession of the family fortune. Victor has no power over him. Victor says, Nikolas does not want to put that to the test. He’d really rather not waste his time and resources bringing Nikolas back in line, but he will if he has to. Nikolas says he won’t be intimidated into giving up his wife, and Victor says he can’t say he blames Nikolas. Ava is a spectacular woman; beautiful, ruthless, and that wicked sense of humor. But sadly, she’s too much for Nikolas to handle. Nikolas says, no one handles Ava, and Victor says, particularly not Nikolas. Nikolas is way out of his league with his callow tricks and childish games, provoking Ava into fights, so he can declare his love and win her back again. Nikolas says, marriages hit rough patches; they’ve hit one. They’ll get past it. Victor says, his marriage hasn’t hit a rough patch. He jumped into bed with Esme. Open his eyes. Ava came out of hospital, and declined to move back to Windymere. Nikolas says, but she will. She’ll believe in him again because he’s found a way to prove his love for her.

Valentin says, he has no doubt that Michael’s performance at ELQ will be effective, and his outside projects are his own business.. Josslyn walks in, and says she needs to speak with Michael right now. Valentin tells her to take his seat; he has somewhere he has to be anyway. He tells Michael, think about it, and leaves. Michael asks, what’s going on? and she says she thinks she knows why no one has seen Dex. She thinks Sonny is keeping Dex in his restaurant, and Michael needs to help her get in there before Sonny kills him.

Dex continues to sing The Star Spangled Banner, when Carver comes in. He says, don’t let him interrupt. Keep singing if he likes. He just wants to have things ready for when Sonny gets back. He unrolls his knives for the 200th time, and Dex says, don’t waste his time unpacking. Carver’s not going to get to use any of that on him, because he’s innocent. Carver says, Sonny seems unconvinced.

TJ says he has another patient he has to see, but he’ll be back to check on Diane. He leaves, and Dante stands in front of Sonny. Sonny says, what? and Dante says he knows it seems like Sonny is the common denominator with all these victims. He knows everything inside Sonny wants to go after this attacker and make them pay. Sonny says, that’s right, but Dante says, don’t do it.

Diane tells Robert, it’s really just a jumble. She doesn’t even know when Sonny and Sasha left, but they had to have left because she was alone when she was attacked. He asks, what’s the last thing she remembers? and she says, talking to Sonny. Then after that, she’s just trying to get the sequence of events right. Maybe if she could talk to Sonny again…  He says, Sonny is right outside. He’ll get him.

Drew says, you can’t cause an accident by wishing or even screaming the words out loud, and Carly says she knows that, but she contributed to Reese’s state of mind when she pulled out on the parkway in front of that truck. They had been best friends since they were twelve years old. Reese would have never left her behind, never turned against her. That was before she found out Carly slept with her father.

Victor says, enlighten him. How does Nikolas plan to prove his love to Ava this time? Nikolas says, it’s private, between husband and wife. All Victor needs to know is that he’s proven to Ava that she can trust him. Victor says he’s going to need more than that, and Nikolas says he’s afraid Victor is going to have to learn to live with unanswered questions. Now if Victor will excuse him… Valentin blocks his way, and Nikolas says, surely Victor doesn’t expect him to answer to Valentin. Both of them can go to hell. Victor says he anticipated that Nikolas would be less than cooperative, so he reached out to his son for assistance, and don’t call him Shirley. He asks if Valentin was successful, and Valentin says, see for himself, handing Victor the envelope Nikolas gave Ava.

Sonny says, it’s about time Diane woke up. It’s good to see her. She says, thank you, boss. From what she understands, it was touch and go. He asks how she’s feeling, and she says, blissfully numb at the moment. Her mind is foggy, but it’s starting to clear. She’s just trying to piece together what led up to the attack. Dante says, that’s good; whatever she can remember. She asks if Sasha gave her permission to go through Brando’s papers, and Sonny says, yeah. She went into Brando’s office. Dante says, they can’t have Sonny influencing Diane’s memories. They need her recollections unprompted. She says, here she thought hearsay just applied to the courtroom, and Robert says he’s not concerned about admissibility at this point. He just wants to get this psycho. But Dante’s right. Sonny can corroborate, but the memories have to be hers. She says he remembers being in Brando’s office. She found the guardianship papers, but it was so dark in there, she came back out to the garage to read it. Robert asks if anyone was in the garage, when Sonny’s phone rings. She says, the next thing she remembers is seeing Dex.

Carver leaves Sonny a message, saying, he’s ready to get the truth out of that punk. Let him know if he can proceed on his own. Michael walks in with Josslyn, and Carver says, her again. Mr. Corinthos isn’t here. If she doesn’t get that, maybe her friend will. Michael tells him to consider his next move carefully. How Carver chooses to handle the situation could determine his future, as well as Sonny’s. If Carver blows it, Sonny won’t be so forgiving.

Carly tells Drew, she was a minor, and Reese’s father took advantage of her. The adult Carly knows that, but Reese was blindsided. She was devastated when she found out. He says, Reese’s father is dead, right? and she says, he killed himself not long after the accident. Drew tells her, what he did was reprehensible. One day Scout will be 16 years old, and if one of her friend’s fathers seduced her into an inappropriate relationship, Drew would annihilate him before the case ever reached trial. And he knows Carly would do the same thing if Joss, Avery, or Donna was ever in the same situation. She says she’d kill the bastard, and he asks if she’d blame them or think they brought it on themselves. She says, of course (🍷) not, and he asks, then why is she still blaming herself?

Ava tells Ryan, it must be hell, sitting here alone, all day every day. No mental stimulation of any kind; just sitting here waiting for somebody, anybody. She wonders if he’s still waiting for his precious Esme. His eyes shift to her, and she says, bingo.

Victor reads Nikolas’s confession, and Nikolas reaches for the letter, but Valentin steps between him and Victor. He says, easy, and Nikolas asks how the hell he got this. Valentin says, trade secret, and Victor says, the more pertinent question is why the hell a letter like this exists in the first place.

Carver asks what Josslyn wants, and she says, Dex. Where is he? Carver says he has no idea. He’s the chef. He has nothing to do with other employees. Michael says, this is what’s going to happen. His sister Josslyn is going to look around. If she sees Dex is being held anywhere in this restaurant, she’s going to bring him out, and they’re going to leave. If Carver interferes in any way, he’s going to call his brother Detective Falconari of the PCPD, and they’ll have the cops search the premises. If they find Dex is being held prisoner here, Carver is going to be arrested, as well as his boss. Sonny will claim Carver acted on his own, without his knowledge. If Carver thinks he can cut a deal and give Sonny up, they both know how he’ll retaliate. Carver’s best option, his only option, is not allow the police to get involved in the first place. What’s it going to be?

Robert says, Diane saw Dex in the garage with Sonny and Sasha before the attack, and she says, yes. He asks who Dex is, and she says, he works for Sonny. He was there at first, then he wasn’t there. She assumed Sonny sent him on an errand. Dante says, she found the guardianship papers, and took them into the garage where there was better light. Is that when she saw Dex? She says, no… wait. He wasn’t there then. He was there before the attack, then when she came to for a second, she saw him. Robert says, let’s get the sequence right. Diane came out of the office with the papers; who was there? She says, no one. The garage was empty. Sonny and Sasha had gone, and she started reading. That’s when she saw a glimpse of motion out of the corner of her eye. She turned around, and that’s when she saw her. She came at Diane with a hook. Sonny asks if Diane just said she, and Robert says, she saw her attacker? Diane says, she came right at me, and Dante says, she? Diane says, yeah. The attacker was a woman.

Dex sings My Country Tis of Thee, when Josslyn runs in. She asks what Sonny did to him, and he says, nothing yet, but they have to get out of here. Carver is a dangerous freak. Josslyn says he gave her the creeps too, and Dex says, Carver knows she’s here; she has to go. Josslyn tells him that her brother is dealing with Carver. She needs to get him untied. He tells her, use the knives; it will be faster. She asks if Carver used them on him, but he says, no and he never will. Josslyn grabs a knife and starts cutting the ropes on Dex’s wrists. It would be ironic if she cut him by accident. Just saying.

Dante asks if Diane can describe her attacker, and she says, a woman with a hook. He says he means other details like age, build, hair color, that kind of thing. Diane says, the attacker was about her height. She couldn’t tell her build because she was wearing a bulky coat with a hood, or a cloak; she wasn’t sure. And Diane couldn’t see her hair. Dante says, that’s good. Just take a minute. Robert says, she’s doing great. Can she remember any more details? Dante says, sounds. Does Diane remember hearing anything? Diane says, yes. She was wearing bracelets, and they jangled when she raised up that hook. Dante tells Sonny, bracelets, not dog tags, and Diane wonders why she can remember her bracelets and not her face. TJ comes in, and says, this is far too many visitors. He’s going to have to ask them to leave now. Robert tells Diane that she’s given them a lot to go on, and Sonny tells her, take it easy. Dante says, he’ll be back to check on her later, and Diane tells Robert, if she remembers any more details, she’ll call him. Or she’ll have her people call him. She laughs weakly, and he says, the most important thing is that she focuses that considerable energy of hers on recovering. She’s doing great; that’s the most important thing to remember. She laughs again, and he leaves.

Michael tells Carver, it’s never too soon to quit. If Carver isn’t here, he won’t have to answer to Michael’s brother the cop, or Sonny. Carver heads for the door, when Josslyn brings out Dex. Michael asks if he’s all right, and she says, Sonny had him in the freezer. He was tied by his wrists, hanging from a meat hook. Michael says, all right, let’s go, just another day. Still trying to save what little dignity he has left, and maybe his job, Carver says, they’ll leave when Sonny says they leave. Seriously, if I was Carver, I’d skip town asap after this. It won’t just be, he’ll never work in this town again; it will be a grave in the Pine Barrens.

Carly tells Drew, when Mr. Roberts started paying attention to her, she was flattered. She could tell he liked her, and she liked it. She even started flirting with him in her own way. She knew it was wrong, but she felt like she was doing something new. She should have stopped going to the Roberts’ house; she should have transferred out of the school. But she didn’t want to lose Reese. She didn’t want to stop being the popular girl on the cheerleading squad. She didn’t want to stop going to the country club, pretending she was a member. Reese gave her access to a life she didn’t want to give up, and that’s on her. Drew says, she was a child; he was a predator. She says, Reese found them in bed together. The next day, Reese wouldn’t talk to her, or even look at her. She thought. she hoped, they could talk after they dropped the other girls off, but Reese had already turned against her. Something had broken in Reese. She shouldn’t have been driving; she was too upset. She shouldn’t have been on the road. He says, wait. Did Reese’s mother tell her all this? and she says, Peyton is a vindictive snob, but she’s not wrong. He says, yes, she is.

Ava says, Esme was determined to intern at Spring Ridge so she could work with Ryan. She claimed she was fascinated with his case, which of course (🍷) makes perfect sense now. Esme probably saw him as some kind of kindred spirit. In his mind, Ryan says, you have no idea, and Ava says, she knows Doc had her banned from seeing him, but that cunning Esme found a way around that, didn’t she? Ryan thinks, yes, my clever daughter. She says, in retrospect, she thinks Esme was blackmailing Nikolas, and Ryan thinks, because he betrayed you. Nikolas was never worthy of you. Only I’m worthy of you. She says, but all good blackmail schemes must come to an end, and Esme overstayed her welcome, and now she’s gone.

Victor asks, what possessed Nikolas to confess to a murder he didn’t commit? and Nikolas says he did it to protect his wife. He’d do anything to protect Ava. Victor says, which is precisely why he has to divorce her. Nikolas’s obsession with Ava is not only detrimental to him, it’s jeopardizing the whole family. Nikolas says he doesn’t give a damn, and Victor says, clearly Nikolas doesn’t give a damn. He didn’t give a damn when he alienated his son. He didn’t give a damn when he was unfaithful to his wife. And he obviously didn’t give a damn when he wrote this ridiculous confession. Fortunately, Valentin intercepted the letter before it fell into the wrong hands. Nikolas says, it belongs in Ava’s hands; it was meant for her. Victor says, until she hands it over to the police in a fit of pique. Nikolas says, she wouldn’t do that, and Victor says, because she’d be implicating herself, but Nikolas says, no, because she loves him. Victor says, be that as it may, it’s too late now to matter.

Drew says he can’t believe Peyton didn’t know what her husband was up to. That is a dysfunctional family. He bets Peyton was used to dealing with her husband’s indiscretions because she didn’t want to give up the wealth, and the status, and the social position. She couldn’t afford to confront her husband. It was way easier to blame Carly. The only person who did have an excuse is Reese, because she was a child. It was too painful and confusing and scary to confront her father about what he did, so she made it Carly’s fault too, but it wasn’t her fault. Yes, it was a tragedy, one where the parents acted badly, and the kids paid the price. He gets why she wants to run away. She’s been running her whole life, but it’s time to stop. Let go of the misguided guilt. Let it go. It wasn’t her fault. She says, what happened to Reese was a terrible accident. She hates that it happened, but it wasn’t her fault. He says, it wasn’t, and she says she’s been telling herself that for years, but she never believed it. Seeing Peyton brought it all out. But it’s over, right? He says, it’s over, and holds her.

Josslyn says, they need the police, but Michael tells her, hold on. He tells Carver, this is about to escalate in a way that will not end well. It’s best all-around if Carver just lets them go. Carver says, if he’s so confident Mr. Corinthos won’t mind his guests leaving, they can afford wait until he gets here and gives his okay. Josslyn says, to hell with this freak. She’s calling the cops. Dex says, no cops, and Josslyn says, why not? Sonny tried to kill him. Sonny walks in, and Michael says, hey dad. Look who we found in your freezer.

TJ says, Diane is doing well. He just wants her to try and rest. She says, sorry, doc. Now she can’t stop thinking about her attacker. She’s sure she knows this woman from somewhere. She just can’t place her, and she usually has a good memory for faces. He says, she went through a traumatic experience. The mind will go into protect mode, and keep the disturbing events at bay. She may start to remember in bits and pieces. That’s what happened to him when he went through something traumatic. But driving herself crazy trying to remember won’t do much good for her recovery. Be patient with herself. It’ll come back in time. She says, sorry, doc. That’s not going to work for her. Now she just wants this maniac caught.

Dante tells Robert, that was amazing. Diane just gave them some real valuable information. Robert says, thanks to her, they know the killer is a woman, and Dante says, it could change the direction of the investigation. There could be patterns they haven’t detected yet, or a way to tie the victims together aside from Sonny. Robert says, or it confirms their worst case scenario. The killings and the attacks are random after all.

Ava tells Ryan, Esme just disappeared one afternoon, at the height of Trina Robinson’s trial. She bets that topic never came up in conversation; how she framed an innocent young woman. She was just about to be exposed too, and she just vanished. She made a couple posts from the French Riviera, so the authorities are looking for her. In his mind, Ryan says, Esme would never abandon me for a place as banal as the French Riviera. She’d never abandon me at all. Ava says, she, for one, is glad Esme is gone. She found Esme to be a dangerously disturbed young woman; reckless too. She just kept pushing the boundaries, assuming nobody would ever push back. Windymere’s not a safe place. It can be downright dangerous if you don’t watch your step, and Esme failed to watch hers. She seriously doubts anyone will see Esme Prince ever again. Ryan clenches his fist.

Victor tells Nikolas, Ava is a practical woman. He’s sure she’s already begun to realize her marriage is toxic. It shouldn’t be too hard to convince her that it’s also jeopardizing her future. He’ll also offer her a generous divorce settlement, which he’s sure she’ll be more than happy to accept. Nikolas says, even if Ava agrees, he never will, and Victor tells him, stop being so tedious. Valentin asks if Victor isn’t overlooking something; Nikolas isn’t really necessary. If he were to disappear like Esme did, Spencer would inherit the Cassadine estate. Victor says, Valentin does have a good point. If Nikolas is intractable, there’s always Spencer. After all, accidents do happen. Nikolas says, threats. Victor wants him to choose his life over Ava. Victor says, it isn’t really a choice, is it? How can he be with Ava if he’s dead? Nikolas says he loves her, but Victor says, love is a luxury; survival is essential. Just remember that. Nikolas says, fine. He’ll do it. He’ll divorce Ava. Victor grabs Nikolas’s shoulders, and says, splendid. A hooded figure walks into the background, and Victor says, he’ll have his attorneys draw up the paperwork, and obtain the necessary signatures. Then with Nikolas divorced and Esme dead, he can finally turn his attention to more pressing matters. The hooded figure turns, and we see it’s… Esme.

Not a huge shock, considering all they did was talk about her once we knew it was a woman.

Tomorrow, Carly tells Drew, maybe it’s time she stopped being Carly Corinthos; Willow tells TJ that she has no other choice; Ava tells Ryan, she knew it was too good to be true; Josslyn says, it’s worse than she thought; and Sonny has a problem with that.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Sonny gives Gladys lavender tea to help her relax. She asks what he knows about tea; he’s a coffee importer. He says, maybe he’ll branch out, and she apologizes, adding, it does smell good. Sasha comes out, and Nina asks if she got any sleep, but Sasha says, every time she closes her eyes, all she can see is Brando in that hospital bed. Nina hugs her.

Curtis goes to the hospital, and Portia hugs him, saying, she’s so glad to see him. He asks, what’s going on? and she says, Diane Miller was brought in with a stab wound tonight. He says, wow. First Ava, then Brando, now Diane. She says, looks that way, and he asks if Diane is okay. She says, they’re operating right now, and that’s all she knows, but it’s got her really on edge. He says, of course (🍷) it does. She says she wanted to tell Trina, but she was with Rory, and Portia didn’t want to tell her then. He says, it’s going to be okay, but she says, how? When? He says he doesn’t know, but thanks to that Invader article, at least they’re all watching their backs. She says, speaking of that, Jordan feels some type of way about whoever leaked it to the press, and he asks if Jordan said something to her. Jordan comes out of the elevator, and Portia says, Jordan wasn’t very happy that she defended the source. Jordan says, because she’s trying to capture a violent criminal. And to that end, she needs Portia’s help.

Dante comes into the interrogation room, and sits across from Dex. He says he’s been briefed on the Diane Miller attack. Dex was the first person at the scene? Dex says he got there just before Miss Davis and Mr. Chase. He’s sorry; he won’t be able to tell Dante much. Dante says he doesn’t know about that. He bets Dex has plenty to tell him.

On the phone, Carly tells Olivia, she feels so bad… Because her family was going through hell and couldn’t get in touch with her… She already talked to everybody, and wanted to jump on the first plane home when she heard about Brando… Yeah, she and Sonny agreed it’s probably safer if she stays here… She knows. There’s a knock at her hotel room door, and she tells Olivia that she’ll call her back; someone’s at the door. She opens it, and Drew asks if someone ordered room service, holding up a six-pack. Yes, we could make a lot of jokes here.

Josslyn, Cameron, Trina, and Rory go to the hatchet throwing place, and Trina says, wow. She didn’t even know places like this even existed. Josslyn says, her mom told her about it. She said it’s super fun. Cameron tells Rory that they should start collecting their weapons, or can he even say that to a cop? Rory says he’s off-duty, and they go to make their selection. Josslyn says, finally they get a little double date action with the guys, and Trina says, it’s so cute. Josslyn says she likes Rory. She’s so happy Trina ended up with him. Trina says, as opposed to Spencer? and Josslyn says, Rory’s definitely preferable… isn’t he?

Dex says he wants to speak to a lawyer, and Dante says, that’s his right, and he should. Dante points to his neck, and asks what Dex has here, and Dex takes out his dog tags, asking if they quality as a lethal weapon. Dante says he certainly hopes not, but you tell me. Dex says he doesn’t know what happed to Miss Miller. He doesn’t know how many times, or how he can say that until they actually believe him, and Dante asks, what makes Dex think he doesn’t believe him? Dex says, the way Dante came at him just now, and how he questioned Dex at the hospital. It’s clear Dante’s made up his mind. Dante says, so far, Dex is the only person who could have seen what happened, and Dex says, but he didn’t. When he came in, she was on the ground bleeding. Dante asks what Dex was doing in the garage in the first place. This is his chance to go on the record and clear up any misconceptions. Dex says he was working, and Dante says, doing what? Dex says, Dante’s father asked him to lock up behind Diane while he took Sasha home, and Dante says, so Dex was there when she was attacked? Dex says he must have been, and Dante says, the garage is a big open space; how could Dex not have seen it? Dex says he was outside, and Dante says, Dex is good at his job, right? Dex says, ask his dad, and Dante says he will, but right now he’s asking Dex. When Sonny ordered Dex to stick around, how could he not see someone enter the garage? It feels to Dante like Dex is lying about something. What is it?

Trina says, now that Spencer’s not in her life, she’s happier than she’s been in a while, and Josslyn says, with Rory. Trina says she’s ready for a fun, uncomplicated relationship, and Josslyn says, Trina deserves it. Trina says, Josslyn’s turn. She and Cam went through a rough patch, and Josslyn says, yeah, but they’re out of it. Trina asks if Josslyn told Cam about the dumpster thing with Dex, and Josslyn says, just because they’re together doesn’t mean they have to tell each other everything. Didn’t Cam prove that by keeping Spencer’s secret? Cameron and Rory come back, and Cameron asks what they’re talking about. Josslyn and Trina both say, nothing, and Cameron tells Rory, nothing means them, right? Rory says, 100%, and Josslyn says, the egos on these two.

Sasha says she really appreciates Nina and Sonny being here, but please go; get back to their lives. Sonny says he can stay, but Gladys says, he’s done enough. The truth is, nothing’s going to make this better. They just have to live through it as best they can. Sonny says he’ll go, but if she needs anything, call him at any time. That goes for Sasha too. He hugs Sasha, and Nina says she’ll walk Sonny out, but she’ll be back. They can’t get rid of her that easily. In the hallway, Nina says she didn’t want to broach this in front of Sasha, but what are they going to do about the guardianship? He says, Diane’s filing a continuance with the judge right now, but the thing is, Sasha is still under guardianship. She asks what that even means without Brando. Is the court going to appoint some interim person, a stranger? Sonny says, no. They’ll give Sasha some time to grieve before they get into the details. Nina says she just can’t believe on top of everything else, Sasha has to contend with that. Sonny’s phone rings, and it’s Alexis. He says, whoa. Hold on… What?

Jordan says she knows Dr. Finn was on hand when Diane was brought in, but he was called on a patient emergency. She was hoping, since he and Portia worked together on Brando’s case, Portia might be able to provide some helpful information. Portia says, Finn did brief her, so she thinks she can help Portia, and Jordan says, and this conversation will stay at GH this time? Curtis asks what that’s supposed to mean, and Jordan says, he saw the article in The Invader. The leak came from the hospital. She’s just reiterating the need for discretion to keep important details under wraps. He says, that was always her area of expertise, wasn’t it? He’ll leave them to it. Portia tells Jordan, sorry. The divorce paper situation has him a bit… Jordan says, Portia doesn’t have to explain Curtis to her, and suggests they go somewhere private to discuss Diane.

Carly asks what Drew is doing here, and he says, what is he doing here as in, it’s so good to see you? She says, of course (🍷) it’s good to see him, and he says, phew. She says, but she told him that she was fine, and he says, he was already on the plane at that point. She says, to Jacksonville? How did he know she was here? He says, it wasn’t easy, but lucky for her, he’s got skills. She says, he’s got Spinelli on the case, and he says he was going to call Spinelli next, but he called Mia. She says, at the seminar, and he says, Mia told him that Carly’s flight had an emergency landing in Jacksonville, and here he is. She says, he came all the way down here for her? and he says he came all the way down here for her. Is she going to invite him in or what? She tells him, come in

Sonny tells Alexis, thanks for letting him know, and Nina asks if it’s another attack. He says, Diane. He’s got to get to GH. She says, of course (🍷), and he tells her to stay safe. She says, him too, and he leaves.

Drew gives Carly a beer, and says, he’s assuming she spoke to her family, and she says she knows about Brando. He says he’s so sorry, and she says, so is she. She feels so awful for Sasha. First her son, now this? He says, it’s unfathomable, and she says, it is. She’s so sorry she was out of touch. He says, she lost her phone; it happens. She says, during a family emergency? She was going to be on the first flight home when she found out about Brando, but she talked to Sonny, and he thought it was safer for her here. He says, he’s sure she hates that, but Sonny’s right. With a violent psychopath on the loose, it’s better she stays here. She says, but just hearing that, she feels like she’s abandoning her kids, and he says he gets that, but Sonny’s never going to let anything happen to them. She says she knows. He’s got security on Michael, he’s doubled security on Josslyn, and Donna and Avery live with him. Drew says, the penthouse is like a fortress; it’s fine. She says she knows. She still can’t believe he tracked her down just to tell her about Brando. He says, it’s not just that, and she says, okay. What else?

Gladys shows Sasha some photos on her phone, and Sasha says, Brando as a baby. Gladys says, a baby who was so proud to serve his country. That war made a mess of him. She barely recognized him when he got back. They lost so much time. If only she’d known how little time they had. Sasha says, but when they did reconnect, she’d say they made the most of it; woudn’t Gladys? Brando loved her. Gladys says she drove Brando crazy, and Sasha says, he didn’t love her any less. Gladys says she just wishes she had one more chance to tell him how much he meant to her, and Sasha says she wishes that too. Gladys gets to pictures of Brando and Sasha in Niagara Falls, and says, their wedding… which no one was invited to. Sasha says, if she could do it again, she’d celebrate with the whole world, all their friends and family… It’s just hitting her that she’s completely alone now. Without Brando, she has no family left. Gladys takes her hand, and says, listen to her. She and Sasha became family the second Sasha married her son, and that doesn’t change now. She’s got news for Sasha; Sasha’s stuck with her. Sasha says she’s so glad.

Sonny goes to the hospital reception desk, and asks where Diane’s room is, and what condition she’s in. The nurse says she can’t share information with anyone but family, when Curtis comes along, and says, Diane is in surgery. Sonny asks how he knows, and Curtis says he has his sources. Sonny says he’s surprised Curtis is sharing that with him. The last time they saw each other, it was a one-sided friendship.  Curtis says he owes Sonny for what Sonny did for his father. His father told him that Sonny knew he was on antipsychotic meds and kept quiet. Sonny says he knows something about that diagnosis, and Curtis says he appreciates it. Sonny says, the truth be told, he wasn’t just looking out for Marshall. He respects the hell out of Curtis.

Trina gets a bullseye, and says, it’s so satisfying. Josslyn suggests they make it a friendly competition, and Trina says, here we go. Josslyn says, what? and Trina tells Rory, if he hasn’t picked up on it yet, Josslyn is totally extra in the competitive department. Josslyn says, what is the point of throwing these things unless someone is keeping score? and Rory says he’s game. Josslyn says, see? She told Trina that she liked him. Why don’t they do a tournament? They’ll pair up, and the winners get to compete for the ultimate glory. Trina says, sounds good, and Josslyn says, let the games begin.

Jordan and Portia go to Portia’s office, and Portia looks through some folders. She says, Diane’s wound was consistent with how Ava and Brando’s presented, and Jordan says, so it was likely a hook was used too. Portia says, the only difference was, the doctors noticed when they were operating that the wound was more precisely inflicted. Jordan says, the attacker is improving their technique. Was a tox screen run? Portia says, it confirms the presence of the same venom that was found in Brando’s system. Thankfully, Finn found an anti-venom, and was able to race it over to the surgical team quickly. The last she heard, Diane was stable and the procedure was going well. Jordan says, thank God for that, and Portia says, it seems like something is still weighing heavily on Jordan’s mind. Jordan says, the last time their victim survived, the assailant made sure the next attack would kill. She doubts this will be any different.

Dex says he’s telling Dante the truth. Sonny told him to lock up, not to keep watch, so he didn’t have eyes on the door. Dante asks, then what was he doing? and Dex says, working; answering texts and emails. Dante can check his phone; there are time stamps on everything. Dante says, good. At the Quartermaine picnic, no one can verify Dex’s whereabouts before he found Ava and Josslyn. Dex says he was bringing paperwork for Dante’s father to sign. The front drive was crowded, so he parked on the access road. Dante says, what about Charlie’s? and Dex says, what about it? Dante tells him, Josslyn said she followed him out to the back alley, but when she got there, Dex wasn’t there. Dex says, because he wasn’t there, and Dante says, Dex has been on the scene of all three attacks; that’s a pattern. Dex says, you know what else is a pattern? He gave Diane and Ava first aid, and hopefully, it helped save both their lives. Dante says he doesn’t know if that’s enough for him, and Dex says, time stamps? Dante starts to leave, and Dex asks if he’s being arrested. Does he need to make a call? Dante says he thinks Dex should call his lawyer, and leaves. Dex makes a call, and says he’s in trouble. He needs their help. Sonny asks where he is, and Dex says, the PCPD. Sonny tells Dex, he’s on his way.

Rory gets a bullseye, but Trina’s hatchet bounces off the target. Rory and Cameron chest bump. Cameron’s hatchet bounces off the target, and Josslyn says, sorry. Cameron says he doesn’t even want to talk to her, and she gets just inside the middle circle. Cameron says, you’re joking, and Trina and Josslyn do a happy dance. Rory and Josslyn are the winners.

Dante asks what Sonny is doing at the station, and Sonny says, Dex said he was in some kind of trouble. Does Dante know anything about that? Dante says, he’s being questioned. He thought Dex was calling a lawyer. Sonny asks if he needs one, and Dante says, he was on the scene of Diane’s attack. Sonny says, he asked Dex to lock up, and Dante wonders if Sonny asked Dex to stand over Diane’s body with her blood on his hands.

Jordan says she’s going to arrange for somebody to stand guard over Diane, and Portia says, good idea. Portia leaves, and Jordan calls Rory. She says she’s sorry to bother him on his night off, but she was hoping for a favor. He says, of course (🍷), and she says, there’s been another stabbing. The victim’s Diane Miller. Dex Heller was at the scene. He’s been brought in for questioning. Rory says, wow, okay, and Jordan says she’d like him to come to the hospital and stand guard over Diane. He says, absolutely. She can count on him.

Drew says he knows Carly doesn’t have the best memories of Jacksonville, and he figured something big must be going on to get her to stay here. Before she can protest, he says he knows she can take care of herself. He just wanted to make sure she was okay, and offer his support if needed. She says, that support of his… He says, completely unnecessary? but she says, completely appreciated. The fact that he flew down here, she can’t tell him how much that means to her. He says he thinks she just did. Her phone dings, and she looks at it, saying, oh no. Come on. He says, more bad news? and she says, that something big he was referring to? He was spot-on. He asks, what’s going on? and she says, they’re clearing out the cemetery Virginia is buried in to put in a parkway to the beach. He asks if she’s talking about moving the bodies, and she says, yeah. He says, for beach access? That’s unbelievable. She says, it is. That spot was so perfect for Virginia, and it was so important to Carly that she be buried there… for many reasons. He says he remembers, and she says, oh, right. She decided to fight it. He says, of course (🍷) she did, and she says she hired a lawyer, and filed an injunction. Apparently, she has no legal standing because she’s not a resident. He says, so now what? and she says she doesn’t know what to do. He says she has to keep fighting, but she says, that injunction was her Plan A, B, and C. He says, there’s got to be other options, and she says, like what? He asks if she trusts him, and they sit down with some beers. He says, she may not have legal standing, but there are other ways to enact change. She says she’s listening, and he says, hi, I’m Drew Cane, holding out his hand. He says, and you are? She says her name is Carly, and he says, that’s such a beautiful name. She says, thank you, and he tells her to ask him what he does for a living. She asks, and he says, he owns a media company. The lightbulb comes on, and Carly says, a media company they can use to raise some hell. He says, exactly. He’ll stay one or two days; he’ll help her make some noise; they lay into the Guild and the developers. She says she can’t ask him to do that, and he says, she didn’t. She says he has a family back home who needs him, but he says he’s talking about a couple of days; they’re not even going to miss him. He’d never offer if it wasn’t something he wanted to do. She asks if he’s sure, and he says, 100% positive. She says, okay, and he says, let’s make this town sorry it ever crossed you. They clink beer bottles, and she says, Jacksonville, you have no idea what’s coming.

Nina tells Sasha and Gladys, bit by bit, it will get easier. Every week that passes, the pain will lift a little more. Sasha says, but does she really want that? Then it will be like Brando will truly be gone. Nina says, no. Brando will never be gone. She feels the people she’s lost every single day. Jay (Nathan), her daughter… Sasha feels Liam, doesn’t she? Sasha says she does, and Nina says, it’s no different. Gladys says, there’s a step they can take if Sasha is ready. They can make arrangements for the funeral, and put their boy to rest.

Curtis asks how things went with Jordan, and Portia says, it was tense, but it was fine. Curtis says he sensed a little tension with her as well, and Porta says she saw that. Um… I did too, and it was because Curtis made a snide remark. Are they in the same show I’m watching? Curtis wonders if it will always be this way even if they get their divorce issue dealt with, and she says, he was going to tell her about their talk. He says, Jordan swears she didn’t deliberately sit on those divorce papers, and Portia says, but what else? He tells her, Jordan also started saying some pretty strange things, and Portia says, strange how? He says, she asked if he and Portia were on solid ground, and then she fed him a line that you can never really know someone even if you’re married to them. It felt off, like she thought they were keeping secrets from each other. But he’s sure she’s just projecting, right? Portia says, mm-hmm, and he says, because they’re about as solid as it gets.

Sonny asks if Dante is sure, and Dante says, Alexis and Gregory found Dex in the garage. He says he was helping Diane. He says he didn’t see anyone or know what happened. Sonny says, Dante doesn’t believe him? and Dante says, Dex has been on the scene of all three attacks, and hasn’t seen or heard anything. Sonny asks what Dante’s implying, and an officer says, they have the forensics report Dante wanted. Dante thanks her and says, one second. Dante tells Sonny, he knows Sonny likes this kid, but he has to ask himself, how well does he know Dex Heller?

Rory says, sorry about the forfeit, and Josslyn says, a win is a win. Rory says, there was another attack; Diane Miller was the victim. Trina says, oh my God, and Josslyn asks if she’s okay. Rory says, all he knows is that she’s in surgery. He’s supposed to go to GH and stand guard, and make sure no one gets in to see her who shouldn’t. Trina says, this is so awful, and Rory says, there is some good news; a suspect was brought in. Josslyn asks, who is it? and he says, that still doesn’t mean things are safe. Trina says, they’ve got hatchets. This is the safest place in Port Charles. Rory asks them to promise to go home together, kisses Trina on the cheek, and leaves. Josslyn follows him, and outside, she says she knows there are certain things he can’t tell her, but this feels really personal. She’s been at two of the crime scenes, and Diane’s a close family friend. Who’s the suspect? He says, all he can tell her is, it’s someone who’s been questioned before, and has been spotted at all three crime scenes. Josslyn flashes back to telling Dex the police are looking for him, and Dex saying he already spoke to Dante.

Dex thanks Sonny for coming, and Sonny asks how they’re treating him. Dex says, so far no arrest, but they think he did it. Sonny asks, what happened? Why did they bring Dex in? Dex says, they think he’s behind it because he happened to be in the vicinity of all three attacks, but he’s innocent. Sonny believes him, right?

Gladys gets on the phone, but Nina says she doesn’t think they have to do this right now. Sasha says, Gladys is right. How long can they wait? Brando deserves a proper goodbye. Gladys says, now he’s just sitting in the morgue, and Sasha says she can’t think about it. They can’t leave him there. And this will be good for them too. They’ll have somewhere to go and visit and talk to him, right? Nina does that with her brother. Nina says, and Nelle. On the phone, Gladys says she’s sorry. Are they sure?… She understands. She’ll be in touch. Nina asks, what’s wrong? and Gladys says, nothing that can’t be fixed, she’s sure. Sasha asks, what is it? and Gladys says, the funeral home won’t take Sasha’s card because there’s a hold on it at the bank. Sasha says she has more than enough… Brando was her guardian. She needs him to sign off on purchases. Nina says, there’s no problem. Why don’t they call back and use her card? Sasha says, no. He is her husband… was her husband. She’s the one who should… She cries, and Nina holds her. Sasha says, oh my God. What do I do now?

Curtis tells Portia that when he was with Jordan, he could just feel it. There was a part of her that she was holding back from him. He doesn’t feel that with Portia. Portia says she’s glad, and he says, the poor thing must think just because she’s keeping secrets, everyone does. Portia looks uncomfortable, and I question Curtis’s P.I. skills. Portia flashes back to Jordan saying she’s glad to hear they’re both on the side of truth. She remembers she and Jordan being trapped in the basement, and saying she needs to tell Trina the truth about her father. Curtis says, what is it? and she says she’s so sorry. She just remembered something she needs to take care of that’s very important. Does he mind if she… He says, of course (🍷) not, and she kisses him. She says she loves him, he says he loves her too, and she leaves.

Trina says she can’t believe it’s Diane, and Josslyn says, this is all just hitting too close to home. Trina asks if they can just get out of here, and Josslyn says she wants to check on Diane, and report back to her family. Cameron says, they’ll go with her, but she says, no, it’s fine, okay? Cameron says he won’t have her go out alone, but she says, thanks to Sonny, she won’t be. She has a guard 24 hours. She’ll have Reed take her, but please, get home safe. She leaves, and Trina and Cameron sit down. Trina asks if they should get out of here too. There’s no point in hanging around here. Cameron says, or they could talk about what’s going on between them. She says she doesn’t know what he means, and he says, she’s been avoiding him since she found out he was covering for Spencer. He gets it. She has every right to be mad. She says, good. Because she is.

Drew says he forgot. He has something he wants to send Carly. Does she have her tablet? She says, yeah, and it’s one of those looking at the camera like Jim from The Office moments. If Carly had her tablet, couldn’t she have sent everyone messages? Hell, she could have called them using it. He says he stopped on the way to the airport to send her a little message. She looks at her tablet (😐) and sees a video of Drew with Donna and Avery. The girls say they miss her, and good luck. Drew tells them, what else? and they say they love her, and can’t want to see her when she gets home. Drew tells them to blow Carly a kiss, and counts to three. He, Donna, and Avery blow a kiss to the camera, and Drew tells Carly, he was hoping she’d like that. She says she loved it, and he says, it’s getting a little bit late. She asks where he’s going, and he tells her, there are some conventions in town, and a lot of the hotels are booked. He’ll probably get a hotel out of town, but he’ll be back in the morning. She says, that’s crazy, but he says, it’s no big deal. She says she’s sure this couch pulls out. Really? I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in a hotel room with a pullout couch. She tells him to stay here, and he says, with her? She says, yeah. She’s going to be here too. He says he doesn’t know. He’s not sure it’s the best idea considering… She says, it’s fine. They’re adults. They can have an adult friendly sleepover. It’s the least she can do. Please stay. He says, okay.

Dex asks if Sonny isn’t going to say something, when Jordan comes in. She says she didn’t know Sonny was a lawyer now, and Sonny says, far from it. He came to check on Dex, and found out he has no lawyer present. Dante joins them, and says, Dex chose not to call one. Sonny asks if Dex is arrested, and when they don’t say anything, Sonny says, that’s a no. Let’s go. They leave, and as Dex passes Jordan, she says, don’t leave town. He says, got it, and she closes the door. She asks if Dex gave Dante anything, and Dante tells her, Dex swears he didn’t see or hear anything. She asks how that’s possible, and Dante says he doesn’t know, but they don’t have anything to hold him on. All the evidence they have is circumstantial. She asks if she’s wrong. There’s something about him; something off. Dante says, she’s not wrong, and she tells him, keep digging. He says, will do, and she leaves.

Outside, Dex thanks Sonny, and Sonny says he’ll give Dex a ride. Dex says, he doesn’t have to, but Sonny says, let’s go. They leave, and Dex looks worried. I’d be worried too.

Drew puts blankets and pillows on the couch, and Carly tells him that she’s sorry. She thought it pulled out. He says, it’s fine, and she says she can call downstairs for a cot. He says he thinks she’s forgetting he spent two years in a cell. This is like heaven compared to that. She says, noted, and they say goodnight. Carly goes to bed a few feet away, which seems really awkward, and Drew lies on the couch. Carly turns out the light, and tells Drew, she knows she said it before, but thanks for coming. It really means everything. He says she’s welcome. They’re going to fix the situation with her mother. She knows that, right? She says she does now.

Sasha thanks Nina for being here, and Gladys says she hasn’t always been the kindest or the most welcoming to Nina. Nina says, for legitimate reason, and Gladys says, but what Nina’s done for them, it hits her right here. Gladys touches her heart, and Nina says, well, get used to it, because she’s not going anywhere. The three of them join hands.

Portia storms into Jordan’s office, and slams the door. Jordan asks what she’s doing, and Portia says, Curtis told her about their little divorce papers chat. How dare she?

Cameron says he hated every second of lying to Trina. It’s just that he and Spencer had this history… She says, so do they. It may not be as long, but it’s pretty important. He says, so important, and if this messes it up at all… She says, it won’t. She’s not planning on holding a grudge, but it might take time to get past it. He says, that’s totally fair. He doesn’t want to give an excuse, but he wants to explain himself. He was torn between two people he care so much about, and that’s… She says, hard, and he says, extremely. Has she ever experienced something like that? She flashes back to Josslyn telling her that Cameron assumed she was alone in the dumpster, and she didn’t correct him. She tells Cameron, yeah. She guesses she has.

Josslyn strides into the PCPD, and Dante asks, what’s going on? She asks if Dex is here, and he wonders why she’s asking. She says she heard he was a suspect in all the attacks, and Dante says he can’t comment, but where did she hear that? She says, it doesn’t matter. He really can’t tell her anything at all? Dante says, Dex was brought in. He left with Sonny a while ago.

Dex gets in the car, but Sonny doesn’t look at him. Sonny just continues to look out the window, and Dex says, thanks for the ride home. Sonny finally looks at him, and says, they’re going to make a stop first. Then he stares straight ahead with an odd smile.

Tomorrow, Sam asks what Spinelli isn’t telling her; Maxie tells Austin, she’s glad it’s finally out in the open; Josslyn tells Dante that she’s got some evidence of her own; and Dex asks, how can he make Sonny believe him, as he hangs from the ceiling. It’s not looking good for Dex.

GH was preempted yesterday, so yesterday’s was today’s. You can find it at:

And on Monday, Chase asks Brook if she thinks going after Linc is still worth it; Elizabeth wonders if Nikolas wants to protect her or himself; Curtis asks what Selina is doing at the club; and Cody has a proposition for someone.

Apparently, Cameron has a band IRL. It is really good of GH to let him perform his own material on the show. The ultimate in product placement.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Chase is taking a shower, when his phone rings. He gets out to answer it, and says, he knows, he knows. He’s on his way… Hey, he’s doing them a favor. Relax. He’s got this covered.

Outside Kelly’s, Aiden reads an article about Ouija boards on his phone, when Laura comes along. She asks what he’s looking at.

Elizabeth opens the door to Finn, and asks what he’s doing here. He says he was nowhere near her neighborhood, and thought he’d stop by and say hi. She tells him, get in here, and he goes inside. He says, to be honest with him, it didn’t sit well that she talked him into her staying alone here last night. She says, it’s sweet he’s worried, and he says he’s not sweet, but he is worried about her. She says she appreciates he’s concerned, but Jake and Aiden are safe at Laura’s, and nothing happened last night. He says she can’t possibly think that the threat is over, but she says, no. Somebody’s gone to an awful lot of trouble to get her attention, and it’s working. How can she ever feel at peace until they find out who’s behind this?

Sonny tells Frank, once people find out he’s not the owner, Charlie’s isn’t going to be targeted. Carly walks in, and Sonny says, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. The most important thing is, Phyllis wasn’t here when it happened. Everything’s going to be okay, right? Carly says, it seems they agree on that. When was the last time that happened?

Nina goes to Alexis’s office, and Alexis thanks her for coming. Nina says, of course (🍷). It’s not every day that the editor-in-chief of the town’s hottest newspaper asks to speak to you in private. She’s assuming this is all off the record, and Alexis says, yes, as long as it goes in both directions. She invites Nina in, and says, Crimson has done a number of journalistic pieces over the years. Nina says, now she’s definitely intrigued. What’s this all about?

At the MetroCourt, Willow tells Smoltz that Nina completely omitted she’d been with Sonny. Smoltz says, been with him sexually, and Willow says, yeah, and the next time Nina approached her, she confronted Nina. Nina insisted she hadn’t done anything wrong, and she was upset when Willow told her that she couldn’t see Wiley. Michael says, and a few days later, Nina filed for visitation. Smoltz thanks them, and says, that’s all he needs for now. He’ll contact them if he has any follow-up questions. Michael says, it’s important that the first segment is published before the visitation hearing. Willow says, they understand judges are supposed to be impartial, and Michael adds, still, if this story is blowing up on people’s social media, it could get traction in the court of public opinion. Smoltz says, he’s on it, but just to be upfront, he has to reach out to Miss Reeves for her side of the story, so if there’s anything they haven’t told him yet, now would be the time. If there’s dirty laundry, he will find it.

On the phone in one of the private lounges, Harmony says she’s planning on meeting Brendon at 8 pm, but he says, change in plans. He’s leaving Port Charles earlier than anticipated. They need to meet now. She says, fine, and he says, that was easier than he thought. She tells him, what can she say? He has the upper hand, and they both know that. He says, get him the money, and she’ll never have to hear from him again. She says, that’s what she’s hoping for, and looks at the syringe in her bag.

Finn says he should have stayed with Elizabeth, but she says, they’ve already discussed that. He has to prioritize taking care of Violet. Besides if this person is motivated to do these things because they think she’s forgetting about Franco, having him there could make things worse. He says, she can’t keep going like this. When was the last time she had a full night’s sleep? She was probably looking over her shoulder the whole time. She says, Cameron was with her, but he says, Cameron’s in college. He has a girlfriend. He might not be here every night. So if she’s not going to leave, and she’s not going to let him stay with her, he was going to suggest a possible solution to keep her safe. He was thinking… The doorbell rings, and he says, that might be the possible solution right now. Elizabeth opens the door to Chase, who apologizes for being late.

Aiden tells Laura, this is just something stupid his friend sent him, and she asks if she can see. He shows her, and she says, the Ouija board, and laughs. He says, she knows what those are? and she says, when she was his age, they used to have slumber parties and hold a séance, and use a Ouija board to contact the dead. He says, she talked to dead people? but she says, no, not at all. It’s completely pretend. It’s a little game people would play. Clearly, one of her friends was pushing the pointer around the board to trick them into believing it was real, but it’s not. Why is he so interested in the Ouija board? He flashes back to telling Jake, what if it’s Franco? and tells her, it’s just something he saw on TV.

Willow says, their dirty laundry has already been made public, and Michael says, they have nothing to hide, but Nina does. Smoltz says, just to reiterate, they both signed over the exclusive rights to their story to him. They’re not allowed to discuss this with any other outlet; print, radio, TV, online, they’re all off the table. Unless of course (🍷) they want to hire another team of attorneys. Michael says, they understand the terms, and Smoltz says he’ll be in touch. He leaves, and Michael says, they actually pulled the trigger. He asks how Willow feels about this, and she says she doesn’t love it, but she feels like she’s doing what needs to be done. He says he feels the same, and Willow sees Harmony going to the elevator. She wonders what her mom is doing here, and walks over. She asks what brings Harmony to the MetroCourt, and where she’s going in such a hurry.

Alexis wonders if she can ask Nina about the nature of her relationship with Harmony, and Nina says, they don’t really have a relationship. She did recently talk to Harmony about speaking up for her with Willow because she was trying to avoid court proceedings to get visitation rights with Wiley, but that’s it. Alexis and Harmony are friends, right? Alexis says, they forged a friendship in Spring Ridge. Harmony confided in her that Nina used her to get Willow to back down. Nina says she didn’t use Harmony. She had a conversation with her, grandmother to grandmother. Alexis says she doesn’t want to get bogged down in the weeds about that. When Harmony talked to Carly, she said she went to bat for Nina; that she owes Nina something. Does Nina have any idea what Harmony feels she owes her? Nina says she has no idea what Harmony is talking about. She’s not holding anything over Harmony’s head, if that’s what Alexis is implying. She would think Harmony would have some sympathy for her situation because she’s also Wiley’s grandmother. Alexis says, true, but she thinks there’s more to it than that.

Sonny asks Frank to go outside and check on everything, and Frank leaves. Carly says she heard about the robbery last night, and just wanted to come by and make sure everything was okay. Sonny says, good thing Phyllis wasn’t here when it happened, and Carly says, what about Nina? She doesn’t want to get caught off-guard, so is there something she needs to worry about? He asks what she means, and she asks if it’s a sign his enemies are smelling blood in the water.

Elizabeth asks, what’s all this? and Chase says, Finn didn’t tell her? Finn says, Chase’s timing stinks. He was just about to when the doorbell rang. Chase says he knew this was a horrible idea, and starts to leave, but Elizabeth stops him, and says, what was a horrible idea? Finn says, he would have asked, but she’d just refuse, and she says, that is a horrible communication strategy. Chase says, his brother’s communication skills leave a lot to be desired, and Finn says, just as a reminder, he saved Chase’s life, so Chase owes him at least a year’s worth of slack. Chase says, he agreed to six months, so Finn’s coupon has expired. Elizabeth suggests they just let her know what’s going on, and Finn says, Chase is a cop, but he’s on suspension, so he needs to keep busy, and she needs security. So Finn thought Chase could stay here for a few days, just to keep an eye on things. She says, Dante and Jordan are sending patrol cars to check on the house, and no offense, but she doesn’t need a babysitter. Chase says, that’s not why he’d be here. He can try and find out who’s been trying to scare her family for months, and put a stop to it. I have to interject – WTH happened to Chase’s hair??? I think he’s been using Peter’s hairdresser.

Laura says she knows it’s a change in Aiden’s routine, but she promises they’ll have fun. She’s going to give him the run of the kitchen, and he can make Grandpa Kevin any dessert he wants, because he knows his grandpa has a sweet tooth. Lucy comes by, and says, that Doc, he hasn’t changed. Laura hugs her, and congratulates her on Deception’s IPO, and Lucy thanks her. She says she can’t get over it. She knew the company was good, and had high hopes, but she never thought the universe was going to grant her all of this. Laura says she bets Lucy is glad their plans to use the Deception brand as a day spa didn’t work out all those years ago. Lucy says, she appreciates Laura’s good will, but she did offer to set some stock aside for her, since Laura was a former partner in the early 2000s. Laura says she appreciates Lucy’s offer, but as mayor, she thinks it’s best she doesn’t have a vested interest in any of the local businesses, even one as successful as Lucy’s. Lucy says, it’s so crazy. She’s getting all these congratulatory bouquets from all the men in her life; Mac and Scotty and Martin… Not that Martin. She doesn’t talk to Martin. She talks too much, but she doesn’t talk to him right now. Laura says she knows Lucy is still dating her brother.

Carly says, what Nina did to Sonny is common knowledge. He didn’t retaliate and he didn’t punish her. Just the opposite. He protected her, and now he’s sleeping with her, so maybe it sent a message to the other families that he’s weak. He says, she’s overthinking it, and she asks what he’s talking about. Everyone knows he owns Charlie’s. Who would risk robbing the place? Was it one of the other families? Was it Selena Wu? He says, it’s not the Wu’s. He and Selena have an understanding. As far as the robbery, the Five Families mushroom risotto are down to two, so there’s going to be a lot of wannabes who want to make a name for themselves. She says, now that Jason’s gone… and he says, let him make her feel a little better about it. Brick is going to be taking over for Jason. She says she doesn’t want to know. She’s no longer his wife; she doesn’t want that responsibility. He asks what she does want, and she says, she wants his word that Donna and Avery are going to be safe; that they’re always going to be protected. He says, she knows he’s always going to protect his kids, and she asks if that’s equally true for his grandson.

Harmony says she guesses she has a couple of minutes, and Willow says she just wanted to give Harmony a heads up. Nina is petitioning for visitation with Wiley. There’s going to be a lot of media attention on their family. Michael joins them, and Willow says, she and Michael have had to make their peace with the press, but their interests may include their families. She’s sorry, but there’s a good chance the things Harmony has done in the past will be dredged up again. Harmony says she sees, and Willow says she just wants Harmony to know that whatever comes out, she doesn’t look at Harmony that way anymore. She made some horrible mistakes, but she was just as much a victim of Shiloh’s as Willow was. He manipulated her, but she found a way to break free, confessed to her crimes, and paid her debt to society. Michael says, that’s what makes her different from Nina, and Willow says, Harmony owned her mistakes and she’s become a better person for it; she’s grown. Harmony says that means more to her than Willow knows. She really has to go, but not before she does this. She hugs Willow, and says she always wants Willow to know that she’s the most important thing to her in this world. She loves Willow. She leaves, and Willow looks concerned.

Nina says she doesn’t know what this is to Alexis, and Alexis says, she just thinks something else is going on. Nina says, if there is, she’s just as much in the dark as Alexis is. She has no relationship with Harmony; no history with her. Except for… Smoltz walks in and says, hello, Chief. Alexis says, don’t ever call her that, and doesn’t he ever knock? He says he’s sorry for bursting in, but he has the feature of her dreams. He sees Nina, and says, talk about good timing. One of the major players in his feature is right here in front of him. He hopes Alexis isn’t poaching his leads again. Alexis asks if this is the feature he wants her to greenlight, and Nina says, what feature? Smoltz says, he was just interviewing Michael Corinthos and Willow Tate upstairs in the restaurant, about how Nina is dragging them to court, and how she’s spent the last year traumatizing their family. Any comments?

Lucy says, Laura knows she and Martin did have that one date, but then Valentin pointed out it could be a conflict of interest. So she and Martin discussed it, and decided not pursue things. Laura says, Martin is her brother; they talk. And actually, he’s very excited to see Lucy again after he comes home from visiting his mother next week. Lucy says, so when Laura talks to Martin, he mentions her? Laura says, yes. She and Martin haven’t been in each other’s lives for very long, but she can see a change in him. He’s lighter when he talks about Lucy, and Laura thinks his life is better with her in it. Lucy says, if she’s being honest, she’s quite fond of Martin. It’s been very hard, running around avoiding Valentin. It’s ridiculous. So she’s kind of been sending out this positive energy to the universe, asking the benevolent spirits if they’d help Valentin see that it’s okay that she and Martin could possibly be a couple. Of course (🍷), she’d never ask Martin to choose between his best friend, slash, most lucrative client ever. Laura says she can’t speak for her brother, but she doesn’t think it would be a hard choice for him. He’d choose Lucy hands down. Lucy thanks her, and says she thinks it’s just lovely to have Laura’s support. Laura says, of course (🍷), and tells Aiden that she’s going inside to get coffee. She asks if Lucy would mind waiting with him, and Lucy says she’d love it. Laura goes inside, and Lucy sits down. Aiden wonders if he can ask Lucy a question, and she tells him, yeah, shoot. What’s on his mind? He asks if she really believes in spirits.

Elizabeth says, she wishes Finn had run it by her first, and Finn says, she’d just turn him down. She says, yeah, because the whole point of her staying here was to show the intruder that their attempts aren’t working. He says, mm-hm, and she says, and this unknown mysterious person doesn’t get to dictate how she lives her life. He says, mm-hm, but that’s what they’re doing. She’s got Jake and Aiden staying at Laura’s. The only way to put an end to this is to expose who’s doing it. Chase says he respects everybody at the PD, but they can’t dedicate the time to this case. Somebody is still managing to sneak into her house undetected. She says, she knows. That’s the scariest part. She’s trying to convince herself this person doesn’t want to do harm to her and her boys; they’re just trying to send her a message – don’t forget me. Finn says he hopes she doesn’t mind he told Chase that her best guess is that it’s someone who doesn’t want her to move on from her husband. Chase says, but the woman who raised Franco has been cleared, as have her sons. He started thinking about other potential suspects, like Franco’s biological mom Heather Webber, but she’s still on D’Archam Island. She hasn’t even had any visitors since 2018. They can cross her off the list. Elizabeth says, whoever this is, they know intimate details of her marriage. It’s got to be someone close to her.

Nina tells Smoltz to get his phone out of her face. She gets up, and asks if Michael paid him to do a smear piece on her, but he says, no, nothing of the kind. This is a human interest story. Doesn’t she want her side of it on the record? Because Michael and Willow gave a very detailed account. These will be the first public statements made before the hearing is held. If he was her, he’d want to even the playing field, so to speak. She says she has something for him. Come close. She yells, go to hell! into his phone, and tells Alexis, great job cleaning up this sloppy tabloid. Nina storms out, and Smoltz says, when you get told go to hell often enough, it becomes meaningless. Alexis asks if Smoltz wants to explain himself, and he says he told her that he’d bring her a great feature, and here it is. Decent, upstanding young couple are being forced to defend their right to deny visitation with their child. He’s writing a legit story about the issues behind this legal battle. He thinks it will be a great read that will get him some real clout; same with The Invader. She says she has no intention of printing this piece, but he says he thinks she’ll change her mind once she reads it, which is the least she can do, since she screwed him over with his revenge porn story.

Harmony waits in a wooded area, and flashes back to Willow saying, Harmony owned her mistakes, and she’s a better person for it. She takes the syringe out of her bag, when Brendon shows up, and she keeps it out of sight. He tells her, what does she say? Is she ready to make all this go away?

Carly says she’s sure Sonny knows Nina’s filed a petition for visitation. Apparently, she’s running around town trying to collect character references. People who will say she’s a terrific person, and she’s deserving of time with Wiley. He says, Nina assured him that she wasn’t going to put him in a compromising position. She doesn’t want him to take her side, and he wasn’t planning to. She asks what that means, and he says, does he believe Nina should be in Wiley’s life? Yes, but if Michael doesn’t want it, he’ll do what he can to support Michael’s position. She says she’s glad he’s picking his family over Nina. She really wishes he’d done that from the beginning. Sonny rubs his head, since he forgot what a headache Carly is.

Willow asks if her mom seemed nervous to Michael, and he says, jittery is the word he’d use. She says she’d hate it if this public exposure is too much for Harmony, and he says, her mom has survived much worse. He’s come to realize that Harmony has Wiley’s best interest at heart. Willow says, unlike Nina, and he says, they didn’t want this. Nina forced their hand. They’ll get through this, and so will her mom. She says, as much as she’s dreading the hearing – it can’t come soon enough – she just wants this to be over. Nina strides over to their table, and asks if Little Miss Sunshine decided to get down and dirty with the rest of them.

Alexis says, for the last time, she didn’t steal Smoltz’s story. Yes, she took the lead, but their story was entirely different than the tabloid fodder he’d written. He says, fine. If she isn’t interested in balancing the scales, at least see what he’s trying to do here. He envisions this as something you’d find in The Atlantic or New York magazine; a five-part feature bringing heavy traffic to The Invader’s website. She says, okay, and he sits down. He says, this isn’t just about a family court matter. It’s about the gaps that exist in our legal system. Nina Reeves effectively kidnapped Sonny Corinthos. She traumatized the whole family, including the child in question, Wiley Corinthos, who was deprived of his grandfather for close to a year. Now she gets to traumatize the whole family all over again by petitioning for grandparent visitation. And get this. Visitation might be granted, because technically what she did wasn’t a crime. This series is going to put a human face on the legal system that doesn’t overlap with justice. Isn’t that the kind of story Alexis has been encouraging since she started? She says, true, and he says, be honest. If she didn’t know the parties involved, wouldn’t she jump at the chance to publish this story?

Brendon asks Harmony, what’s the hold up? Doesn’t she want him out of her life? Let’s get this over with. She puts the syringe back in her bag, and hands him some money, saying, here. He asks, what’s this? and she says, his money. He says, it’s barely a thousand dollars (I guess he counts fast), and she says, it’s all the savings she has. But she’s staying at Alexis’s for free, and doesn’t have the overhead of a motel anymore, so she can pay him in installments. It won’t be today; maybe not for a few months or maybe a year. He asks if he looks like a bank. He knew she didn’t have the money. She was supposed to get it from Alexis. He guesses that settles it then. If she can’t keep her end of the deal, why should he keep his? She says, he’d be foolish to tell anyone what he knows about her, and he asks, how does she figure? She says, right now she’s in his debt. She’s already made the first payment, and will keep finding ways to pay him. Hell, he can lord it over her for the rest of her life, but the minute he tells anyone, that’s over. He’ll have no one else left to pump for money. He asks if that’s really what she thinks, because he sees it differently. What if he was to tell Michael Corinthos that information? If Nina was to find out Willow was her biological daughter, oh boy, would that complicate their visitation case. Michael hates Nina. He bets Michael would be willing to keep him on his payroll indefinitely to keep that information quiet. The guy’s loaded. Maybe he should skip Harmony altogether, and go straight to him. She says, if he’s wrong, Michael’s first call will be to his brother, the police detective, who will have him arrested for blackmail. He says he’s willing to bet Michael would rather pay to keep him quiet. If the truth does come out, it will destroy Harmony’s relationship with her so-called daughter, which is what she deserves for trying to buy him off with pennies on the dollar. Keep her down payment. He throws the money at her, and says, he can do much better. He starts to walk off, but she stops him, and says, he can’t, but he pushes her to the ground. Her stuff falls out of her purse, and he sees the syringe. He says, what the hell?

Elizabeth says, what’s unsettling is, whoever’s doing this knows her, knows her family. It’s like a horror film when the call is coming from inside the house. Chase says, she doesn’t know for sure it’s someone in her life who’s doing this. It could be some random fan of Franco’s artwork. She says, who’s getting in and out of her house without breaking in? That is not exactly comforting. Chase says, in today’s world, there are all kinds of ways to get private information on someone; bank records, social media, ID theft. She says she’s just so angry at herself for taking something to help her sleep. Clearly she knew someone was in the house, which is why she made it part of the dream. If she’d just woken up… Finn says, so she could freak out the perpetrator, and they’d hurt her or the boys? She says, or maybe she’d find answers, and Chase says, that’s why he’s here. There’s another way to find out who’s doing this. He takes a small piece of equipment out of his bag, and says, they catch them on camera.

Lucy tells Aiden, does she believe in spirits is a very cool, adult question. Where’s that coming from? He says, a book report for school, and she says, it’s great for his school to be so open minded. She’s more than happy to share what she knows with a new age enthusiast. He asks what she means, and she says, she believes the universe is a great big complicated, intricate, loving system with many, many realms within it. He says, realms. Like where dead people go? Is that where ghosts come from? She says, some people call them ghosts. You could call them spirits or fates, an energy that keep us on the right path, and keep us from following our worst impulses. Everybody calls it a different thing.  He tells her, but she said she talks to the universe. Does that mean she can contact ghosts? She says, no. She doesn’t do that anymore. She learned her lesson. She doesn’t find herself so brazen to think she can talk to the dead. She leaves that to trusted, trained mediums. All this stuff can be tricky. For every loved one that just wants to fondly say hello, there are some really evil forces out there who are devious and will try to trick you, so it’s best to leave all that. Don’t even get involved. What she does, is put out positive vibes out into the universe and opens up her heart. That’s what she does instead. He says, right, and she says she hopes she didn’t confuse him too much. His grandma is coming back, so tell Laura that she had to go, but she enjoyed their chat. Ta! She leaves, and Aiden goes back to looking at the Ouija board article.

Sonny asks Carly if they have to rehash this again. He wanted to tell her about Nixon Falls. How many times has he said it. She says, then Jason died, then Sasha and Brando’s baby died; she knows. Phyllis comes out from the back, and says she found four empty cans of club soda in her office. How many is he going through a day? She and Carly say, hi, and Carly says, club soda, huh? Sonny says he told her, he cut back on drinking. Not entirely. The medication and the alcohol don’t work well together. She says she knows. She tried telling him for years, but he never listened. So what’s changed? Oh, let her guess.

Nina sits down, and tells Willow to admit she’s having a smear piece written about her. Michael says, it was a joint interview; he and Willow gave it together. Nina says, she’s come to expect dirty tricks from Michael, but now Willow’s joining in? And she’s still trying to act innocent? Willow says, she’s so fed up with Nina’s drama. There is no reasoning with her; no compromise. She wanted to go to court, so that’s where it will be decided. And if Nina has anything else to say to her, she can do it through Willow’s lawyer. Or she could always give her version of events to Smoltz. She’s sure Smoltz would love to talk to Nina. Nina says she’s in the media. She knows what they’re trying to do. They want to get it out in the press to try and influence a judge. Are these the kind of values Willow wants to instill in Wiley? Willow asks what kind of values Nina wants to teach him. How to lie to an entire family, and watch them grieve a dead man she knew was alive and well? Or maybe she could teach him how to break up a marriage, or sneak around people’s backs, like how Nina tried to use Willow’s mom  to work WIllow after she turned Nina down. That’s right. She’s not going to let Nina play the victim anymore. Willow is on to her, and so is her mom.

Brendon grabs the syringe, and asks what Harmony is doing with this needle. She says, it’s not his; give it back. He asks, what’s in it? Is it heroin, like Neil was using? Is she a user too? Did she hook him on this stuff? Oh my God. His family never understood how or why Neil was using heroin. It wasn’t like him at all. He never used drugs, not even when he was experimenting as a kid. But it wasn’t Neil. Neil never shot up. It was her. She killed his brother, didn’t she?

Elizabeth says, security cameras? and Chase says he plans on sleeping during the day, and keeping watch at night, but he can’t be everywhere in the house at once. These are motion sensory cameras, and the second they sense someone walking around, they’ll start recording. He’ll place them at key points in the house. She says, she knows he’s trying to help… and turns to Finn, saying, it seems a little invasive. He says he understands, but it’s only temporary; one, two days tops, until it’s over. Elizabeth says she’s not going to fight with them. She’s willing to sacrifice some privacy if she can get answers. Chase says, if something else happens, they’ll have evidence. No one is getting in this house undetected.

Laura comes out, and asks Aiden, where’s Lucy? He tells her, Lucy said she had to run. Ta. What does ta mean? She says, it’s just another way to say goodbye, and he asks if they can stop by Logan’s on the way home. There’s something he wants to make for Grandpa Kevin, and he needs an emulsion blender. She says she guesses it’s her prerogative to spoil him. Let’s do it. She walks ahead, and he buys a Ouija board online.

Alexis says, Smoltz is right, and he says, what now? She tells him not to make her say it again. It was painful enough the first time. It is an interesting pitch, and if it weren’t for the persons involved, she’d write it. He says, before she has any ideas to write it herself, Michael and Willow gave him the exclusive. She says, fine. He can write it. But only if he uses an even hand, the human element in a non-exploitive way, and he allows Nina to tell her side of the story. Only then will she sign a deal for exclusive rights to it. He says, awesome, and she says, if she finds out he’s been underhanded or messy in any way, she reserves the right to kill it, and she will kill it. Does he understand? He says he does, but trust him, she won’t be disappointed.

Willow says, every time she’s tried being diplomatic with Nina, Nina has punished her for it. She’s done making peace with Nina. Nina says, Michael must be thrilled, and Michael says, Willow was determined to find a compromise, but Nina made that impossible. She chose this every step of the way. Up to and including going to court. Nina says, fine by her. They want a battle, she’ll give them a battle. She leaves, and Michael says, looks like it’s on.

Sonny says, his drinking or not dinking isn’t entirely about Nina, and Carly says, right. He says, okay, and walks in the back. Carly says she’s tempted to drink herself, and Phyllis says, they do make terrific bloody Marys, but she figures she’s the last bartender Carly wants to serve her. They haven’t talked much since Carly found out Phyllis knew the truth about Sonny and Nina, while she was enjoying Carly’s hospitality. Carly says, that’s what Nina does. She puts the people who make the mistake of caring about her in compromising positions. Phyllis says she loves Nina, but can’t argue against any of that. So before Carly finds out in court, she’s going to clear the air. She did vouch for Nina’s character to Willow’s mother. Carly says she didn’t know Phyllis knew Harmony. Why would Phyllis have any sway with her? Phyllis says, back in the day, she and Harmony – or Lorraine as she was called then – used to work in the same building in New York.

Brendon says, it all makes sense. Neil knew the truth about Harmony, didn’t he? And what? Did Neil threaten to do something about it? Did she kill him? Make it look like Neil accidentally overdosed himself? Does she know how much his family has struggled with that? They blamed Alexis. Harmony is living with her now. Harmony pleads for him to please listen, but he says, the police will listen to everything he now knows. Today. She tries to stop him, and they struggle. She puts her hands around his throat, and his foot slips. She shoves him off the edge of the cliff they’re conveniently standing near.

On Monday, Brad wants Britt to just tell him if the answer is no; Laura tells Felicia, that’s a Cassadine move; and Willow asks if Harmony is going somewhere.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Portia sits at the bottom of the basement steps with Jordan’s head in her lap. She says Jordan isn’t the only one with secrets. She has one too. Trina doesn’t know the truth about her father; who he really is. Portia knows she waited way too long to tell her. She says she’s not going to leave Trina, and lies Jordan gently on the floor. She runs up the steps.

At the hospital, Maxie asks Brook why they’re still waiting; her appointment is over. What’s the point of sticking around? Brook points at Austin, and says, that, right there. Maxie is going to follow him. Go. Maxie asks why she’s following him, and what does she do if he sees her. Brook says, say something nice, something to cover. Maxie asks if Brook is trying to set her up with Austin.

Jason finds Carly at the renovation site, and asks if she’s thinking about Jake’s. She says, Jake’s, that time in their lives… Sorry she took off. He says Spinelli tracked her phone and he found out where she was hiding. She says she wasn’t hiding, just nostalgic. She’s not sure if that even describes this feeling. He asks, what’s going on? and she says, it started the other night at the pool (🍷). They were dancing, and it was like she was right back there, at Jake’s, dancing with him, feeling everything she used to feel, and it scared her.

Sonny asks who Jax thinks he is, coming there and talking about the truth. He lied to Nina. He betrayed Nina. This is the truth; their truth. It’s all they need to know. Jax says what Nina is doing is wrong, and Sonny asks what he thinks Nina is doing. Jax says, doesn’t he get it by now? He’s not Mike, and Nina knows it.

Maxie says when Brook offered to come with her to her postpartum appointment, she thought, wow, she’s being a good friend, but as usual, she has an ulterior motive. Brook says, of course (🍷) she does; she’s a Quartermaine. And this was a doctor’s appointment, not a night out on the town. Maxie says she gets Brook’s point, and Brook says now that they know Maxie has a clean bill of health, Maxie has to go spend some time with Austin. Maxie says, no, she doesn’t, and Brook says she doesn’t understand what the problem is. Maxie says, yes, she does, and Brook says, Austin delivered Maxie’s baby in the woods, and was in the woods with them the night Maxie gave Brook her daughter to protect her from Peter. Maxie says, which is exactly what they don’t want him to remember, so quit pushing her in his direction. Brook says he might be a good distraction for Maxie; lift her spirits a little bit. Maxie says her spirits are fine, but Brook says they’re not. And spending time with a guy who thinks she’s charming might be the perfect little pick-me-up.

Portia bangs on the basement door, and screams for help. She begs Jordan to keep breathing. Someone will hear. They’re not going to die down there. She yells, somebody! Please!

Maxie says, first of all, she’s so not ready for another man in her life, and if she was, it so wouldn’t be Austin. She’s had to listen to Brook go on and on and on about Austin’s claims on ELQ. How he could possibly back Valentin, and prevent her father from becoming CEO again… Ooh, that’s it, isn’t it? Brook said she had an ace in the hole when it came to Austin. She was talking about Maxie, wasn’t she? Oh my God. Ned comes by, and asks how long Brook has been there. Maxie says, too long, and Ned asks if Brook has seen Leo. He needs to find him.

Jax says, Sonny doesn’t want to know his real name? and Sonny says, he told Jax; this is his life now, and he doesn’t want anything to interfere with that. Jax says, so he doesn’t care that he has a whole family out there who loves and misses him? Sonny says he thought about it, and he could have been digging a little deeper, but he hasn’t. Jax asks why he didn’t, and Sonny says, that family Jax mentioned, who love and miss him so much, where are they? Why haven’t they come looking for him? Jax says he doesn’t know, and asks Nina why she thinks Sonny’s family hasn’t come looking for him. Sonny says Jax has no business butting into their business. Jax lied to Nina. He chose his ex-wife over her, and has no right to come there and accuse her of anything. Jax says, Sonny has no idea? and Sonny says, he might not know who he was, but he knows who he is now. And he knows Nina, and she’s been nothing but good to him. She’s his life. Nina asks Jax to just leave them alone. Please. Can he just do this one last thing for her? Jax says he’s sorry, he can’t, and Nina tells Sonny that she needs to talk to Jax alone.

Jason says, ever since he and Carly started talking about the wedding, even before they actually decided, it’s like she’s been in this fight with herself. Carly says, because she has been. She knows why they should get married. She knows it’s the best way to keep the family safe. It’s great from a business standpoint, but is it what Sonny would have wanted? Jason says, Sonny’s gone. He misses Sonny every day, but this is about them. They’re the ones getting married. If that’s still what they want. She asks if he’s backing out, but he says, no. He’s just saying they do have the option to call it off. She says, what about the Five Families baked baccala? and he says, there will be a huge fallout. It won’t be good, but he’ll deal with it. The business is important, but who they are to each other is more important.

Sonny says he doesn’t think it’s a good idea to leave Nina alone with Jax, but she says, she’s fine. He asks if she’s sure, because when he came in there, she seemed pretty upset. Maybe Jax is the one who should go, before he gets shot again. Jax says he’s still the same person he was before, and Sonny asks why he says that like it’s a good thing. Nina tells Sonny, stop. This isn’t him. This isn’t the man she’s come to know and love. He says, now she’s going to use the L-word to soften him up. She asks if it’s working, and he says, maybe a little bit. She says she’ll straighten it out. She’ll get Jax to understand how much they mean to each other. He says he’ll be in the back, but she says, he can’t be there. Let her work it out. Trust her. Sonny says he trusts her with his life, but he doesn’t know what Jax is capable of. Nina looks at Jax, and says, Jax wants what’s best for her, right? and Sonny asks if she means Jax wants what he thinks is best for her. Nina says that’s her point. She’s going to help him understand that they get to choose what’s best for them, and she can’t do that if she’s worried he’s going to bust in there any second and rescue her. Sonny says he knows she’s perfectly capable of rescuing herself, since she rescued him. He walks up to Jax, and says, if he does anything to Nina, Jax is going to have to answer to him. Jax says he had a feeling Sonny was going to say that, and Sonny says, trust that feeling. He leaves, and Jax asks how long Nina has been keeping Sonny from his family.

Curtis goes back into the house, and calls for Jordan. Portia starts yelling again, and he opens the basement door. He sees Jordan at the bottom of the stairs, and runs down. Portia says Jordan has a head wound; he’s going to have to carry her. Be careful; there’s a gas leak. He asks if Portia is going to be okay, and she says she’s going outside. Just hurry.

Maxie tells Ned to breathe. It’s going to be okay. They’ll find him. Ned says, it’s a big hospital; he could be anywhere. Brook says she just spoke to hospital security, and they’re all over finding Leo. Ned thanks her, and says he turned his back for ten, fifteen seconds, to talk to the pediatrician, and when he turned around, Leo was gone. Maxie says, kids do that. She thinks Georgie can teleport. Brook says, with Spinelli as a dad, she’s not surprised, and Maxie says, Leo is going to be fine. Ned says he hopes she’s right. He’s going to call Olivia.

Austin walks into an examining room to find Leo playing with his fidget spinner. Leo says he likes this, and Austin says he thought Leo might. He was so brave when he was there to get his tetanus shot. How’s his finger? Leo says, good, and Austin says Leo isn’t scheduled to visit him today. Does his mom know he’s there? Leo shakes his head, and Austin says, what about his stepdad? Leo says, nope.

Nina says she came to Nixon Falls because she wanted to see her friend Phyllis, and Jax says he knows. She says, please don’t interrupt her. He wants to know what happened, right? She’s trying hard to tell him. He says, go ahead, and she says she was really hurt and heartbroken when she found out what he and Carly did to her, that they hid the identity of her daughter. She’s really sorry she made a scene at Sonny’s funeral, and she’s really sorry she confused Wiley. He says, speaking of Wiley… and she says he doesn’t have to tell her that Wiley is Sonny’s grandchild; she already knows that. He says, but somehow she’s justified keeping him from Sonny. She says she came to Nixon Falls to be with Phyllis because Phyllis cares for her. Phyllis doesn’t judge her. She saw Phyllis, and was on her way out of town, and ran into Sonny. She couldn’t believe it, just like Jax right now. She couldn’t believe it, and then after talking to Sonny, she realized he’d lost his memory, and the only clue to his identity was his watch that he still wears. It said, To Mike, Never enough time, Love, A. Now he calls himself Mike. Jax says, his watch, and his father’s name. When she realized Sonny was alive, why didn’t she tell Carly?

Carly tells Jason not to put himself in an impossible situation just to make things easier for her. He says, why wouldn’t he? Look at where they’re standing. It’s Jake’s, where it all began. She was the first friend he made on his own, who knew nothing about who he was before the accident. She always talks about what he does for her. Why don’t they talk about what she does for him? She accepted him, and believed in him. She fought for him. She says she sure did that, and he says he doesn’t know who he’d be if he hadn’t met her. He’s just lucky he did. He trusts her; he trusts her instincts. If she thinks they shouldn’t get married, then they shouldn’t do it.

Curtis brings Jordan outside, and lies her down on the porch, saying, come back. Portia checks Jordan’s pulse.

A security guy tells Ned that they haven’t been able to locate Leo yet, but they’re actively looking. Ned wonders if they should bring in the police, when Austin comes in with Leo. He says he thinks they might be looking for something, and Leo runs to Ned and hugs him. Ned says, they’ve been looking all over for him, and Austin found him. Austin says, actually, Leo found him. Leo was waiting for him in the examining room where he got his tetanus shot because he wanted to tell Austin how much he liked his fidget spinner. Ned asks why Leo didn’t tell him that he was going over there, and Leo says, because he wanted to see Dr. Austin.

Nina tells Jax, she did call Carly, the second she found out what was happening to Sonny. She tried to tell Carly, but before she could get one word in, Carly lit into her. She said if Nina sued for any rights to see Wiley, she’d dredge up every horrible thing Nina had ever done in her life. She was relentless, and kept pounding the hammer on Nina’s coffin over and over, until Nina couldn’t take it anymore. She starts to cry, and says she knew it was wrong. She knew she should have told Carly, but in that moment, she couldn’t bring herself to even care. He says, let him get this straight; she kept quiet out of revenge? She says, no… yes… no… Maybe in the moment she did. he says, what about other moments, like when he came to visit her, or when she went back to Port Charles when he arranged for her to visit Wiley? How could she just stand there, holding Wiley, when she knew she was keeping Sonny from his entire family? They were still grieving him. How could she do that for all those months?

Carly says it doesn’t feel wrong to marry Jason. She knows he’ll treat her with respect. She knows he’ll be great with the kids, and would never lie to her. It’s not a question of him being a good husband; he’ll be a great husband. The problem is Jake’s. She fell in love with him back then, and realized that she could fall in love with him all over again.

Sonny sits on a bench near the water, and flashes back to Jax saying he has a whole family who love and miss him. He says, the family Jax mentioned, where are they? Why haven’t they come looking for him? Jax says, doesn’t he get it? He’s not Mike and Nina knows it. Sonny looks at his watch.

Nina tells Jax that she tried to come clean with Carly. She thought about coming clean when she went to Port Charles. He asks why she didn’t, and she says, because when she was visiting Wiley, Carly showed up again. Then all of a sudden, her visitation is over. It’s Wiley’s bedtime, and it’s enough with playing with Grandma Nina. She thought, back in Nixon Falls, there’s this a lovely man waiting for her. He says, Sonny, but she says, Mike. He says, they’re the same person, but she says, they’re not. Sonny is a ruthless mob boss. Mike is a simple guy who wants what he has there, a simple life with his friends Phyllis and Lenny. He says, and her? She says, and her, and he asks if she’s told Sonny that she knows who he is; that the answers he seeks are right in front of him? Here’s where Jax is wrong though; Sonny isn’t seeking them. She says, no, and he asks, why not? She says she thought about it a lot of times, but knew if she told him, he’d look up who he was, he would discover all the crimes Sonny committed. Even though Sonny was okay with it, Mike wouldn’t be able to live with it. It would change him. Jax says, or he’d want to return to his old life whether he remembered it or not. But she didn’t want that because she’s in love with Mike. She says she is, and from what she’s heard, Sonny is not a good guy. He says he agrees with her there, and she says, Mike is a good man. He’s devoted and kind, and she got something from Mike she’s never gotten from any man – honesty. He asks how much honesty she’s given Mike in return, and she asks if he has any idea what a difficult decision this has been for her every single day. So the question is this. Who is better for this world; Sonny, who kills people, or sweet, kind Mike? He says it’s not her decision to make because there is no Mike. There is only Sonny, and he’s married to Carly. She says, Sonny found himself there, who he truly is. He’s Mike and he’s happy… and she’s happy. Does Jax want to take that from her again?

Brook asks how long Leo was with Austin before he decided to tell someone, and Austin says, 58 seconds. She says her stepbrother goes missing, and just happens to show up with him? and he says he knows this one; she’s implying something. She says, kind of convenient when he’s trying to ingratiate himself with her family. Leo goes missing, and when they’re just about to call the cops, he shows up and he’s the hero? Ned says, Austin treated Leo for the cut on his finger a few weeks ago. Leo liked him, so it makes sense that Leo would seek him out. He just wishes Leo would have asked him first. Austin imagines he did, and Brook says, it’s just Leo being Leo. Austin agrees, and asks if he can talk to Ned for a second. Ned asks Brook to keep an eye on Houdini, and Austin says he has something he thinks Leo will get a kick out of, and shows him a gyro wheel. Leo seems fascinated.

Portia tells Curtis, Jordan’s breathing is getting better, but she isn’t regaining consciousness. She breathed in more of what was in that basement than Portia did. He says, she’s only got one kidney; that has to make it worse. Portia says, the gas puts her in danger of renal failure, and the remaining kidney could be compromised. Let’s get her to a hospital right now. They pick Jordan up, and carry her to the car.

Ned and Austin go into an examining room, and Ned says, if this is about ELQ… but Austin says, this is way more important than ELQ. Ned may recall he asked Olivia to bring Leo back to see him. Ned says he does, but Olivia thought Leo was okay, so he took Leo to his own pediatrician for the all-clear. Leo’s finger seems to have healed nicely. Austin says, it looks great, but he didn’t need to see Leo about the cut. Ned asks, then why did he want the follow-up?

Carly says she was so surprised when she fell in love with Jason. She was so busy chasing after Tony, and lying to AJ, and one day it dawned on her that he was the one she wanted, and she was so, so in love with him. Of course (🍷) she had to get him to fall in love with her, which wasn’t easy since he had his guard up, but little by little, she found a way. They were so close, then she met Sonny, and everything changed. Jason left Port Charles, and she and Sonny fell in love. When he came back, the feelings she felt, she couldn’t let herself feel them, so she locked them away, and woudn’t let herself think about them to the point where she believed they were gone. Now she’s starting to feel them again. She’s not in love with him yet, but she’s on the way, and just can’t go there alone.

Sonny looks his watch, and takes it off. He remembers Nina saying, this watch is the evidence of a life he used to have. He has to learn who he was before he came to Nixon Falls. Until he does, she can’t give him all of her.

Jax says, all he wanted was for Nina to be happy, and she says, then can he leave, and forget what he saw there? He says he wishes he could. He honestly means that. Everyone at home is grieving Sonny, and his absence has put everyone in Port Charles in danger, including Josslyn. She asks what he means, and he says, she asked him a while ago who the world would be better off with, Sonny or Mike. It pains him to say this, but Port Charles needs Sonny. She says she thought everyone would be safer with Sonny gone, and he says she has no idea what she’s done. The lives that have changed. The things she set in motion.

Austin says he’s observed some behavior from Leo that he thinks warrants attention. Ned asks, what behavior? and Austin says, there’s no cause for concern. He just wants to observe the kid a little bit more. Ned asks, why? Does he think there’s something wrong with Leo? Austin says he doesn’t think anything’s wrong with anyone. He just thinks Leo might benefit from seeing a specialist. Ned says, in what? and Austin says, every human being is different, and every child is different. He’s seen a lot of kids and what he’s trying to articulate is that he thinks Leo would enjoy learning a more effective way of communicating. At least discuss it with Olivia. Ned says, actually, he has. He’s mentioned Leo’s quietness concerns him sometimes, but Olivia won’t hear it. Austin says Ned needs to try again because some kids really benefit from treatment. Ned says, for introversion? and Austin says, if he’s shy, he’s shy, but it could be a range of other things; none of them is bad. This is great. What human being doesn’t deserve the right to learn the skills to connect to the world a little bit better? Ned says he’ll talk to Olivia about it, and Austin says, tell her to reach out to him if she has any questions, and the same goes for Ned. Ned starts to go, and Austin says, this has nothing do with anything other than Leo, and Ned leaves.

Brook says Austin is so into Maxie, and Maxie tells her, so she keeps saying. Brook says, he may be an interloper, but Maxie may see him in a different light. Maxie says, stop pretending this has anything to do with her; it obviously doesn’t. Brook would do anything to protect the family business. Exhibit A: faking a pregnancy to save ELQ from Valentin. But hey, she gets it. That’s what the Quartermaines do. But her pregnancy faking days are over, and she’s not a Quartermaine. She doesn’t want to get mixed up in whatever plan Brook has going on next. Brook says, just invite him to Carly and Jason’s wedding. Just spend a little time with him; put her toe in the water. What harm could it do? Ned comes back, and thanks them for looking after Leo, and Maxie says, of course (🍷), like anyone was even looking in Leo’s direction. He could have disappeared again ten minutes ago. Brook asks if Austin tried to weasel his way into the family business, or what? and Ned says, something like that. Brook tells Maxie, all the cards are out on the table. Could she just spend some time with Austin, and see where it goes? Could Maxie do that for her?

Sonny looks at his watch, and remembers Nina saying, there are a million reasons why they shouldn’t be together. With all those reasons, and the fear that what they have will collapse when he finds out who he is, she’s still here. And if that’s not love, she doesn’t know what is. He asks what she’s saying, and she takes his hand and tells him that she’s saying she loves him too.

Jax tells Nina, when Sonny disappeared, his business became vulnerable, and by extension, so did Carly and her family, including Josslyn. Nina says she doesn’t know the ins and the outs of mob business, but she assumed Jason could handle things, and Carly would benefit from it. He asks if she’s read about Cyrus Renault, and says, things escalated from there. Jason was either behind bars or on the run, so Carly felt that she needed to take over the family business. And Carly’s only way to maintain power, or keep this illusion of peace, is to marry Jason. Nina says he told her they were engaged, but she thought it was just for show. She didn’t expect them to actually get married. He says, well, it’s happening. And it’s a little tricky, because the bride-to-be is married to a man who’s alive and well, and being hidden there by Nina.

Carly says she and Jason can stop, take a step back, tell everyone they’ve reconsidered and they’re not getting married. It will be awkward for a while, but they’ll be fine. She cherishes his friendship, and can’t live without it. The butterflies she’s feeling will eventually go away, but if they get married, she’ll keep falling and won’t stop. When he doesn’t return the feelings, she’ll be angry, resentful, and hurt. She can’t have that between them. He asks why she assumes she’ll be falling alone. <gag>

Maxie tells Brook, it’s very disconcerting, and Brook says, what? Maxie says, Brook, and her plan. Brook says, what plan? She’s simply encouraging Maxie to spend time with a guy who’s clearly interested. Maxie says, that right there is exactly what she’s talking about. Brook is pretending there’s no plan, when obviously, there is a plan. On one hand, Brook is a total lifesaver. She’s great with the baby. She’s keeping the baby safe, and she’s loving and protective. Brook says, her pleasure, and Maxie says, and just when she thinks she can relax, that everything is under total control, Brook starts plotting and scheming, all over these stupid ELQ shares. Brook says, first of all, they are not stupid ELQ shares. They’re very valuable, and they’re her great-grandfather’s legacy. And second of all, who is Maxie to talk to anyone about scheming, Miss Schemer McSchemerson? She could give a master class. Maxie says she’s scheming to save her baby, but Brook sys, it’s still a scheme. That’s okay. They’re not mutually exclusive. Maxie tells her, says the woman with a blatant ulterior motive, and Brook asks if it isn’t possible for her to protect Bailey/Louise while at the same time safeguarding her family’s company. Maxie says, and by <air quotes> safeguard <end air quotes> she means cutting Austin out, and Brook says, maybe. Maybe not. Maybe Austin is a really nice guy, with a legitimate claim. What would help her out is someone she could trust – like Maxie – spending time with him. Maxie says, okay. Fine. She’ll do it. Brook thanks her, and Maxie says, but if it happens to jog Austin’s memory about what happened in the woods the night Louise was born, she’s going to blame Brook. Brook says she takes full responsibility… whatever that means. Austin comes by, and Brook calls his name. He says, no thank you, and keeps walking. Brook follows him, saying, they didn’t offer him anything. He says what she has to offer him is unfounded accusations, but he’s full up. Try again tomorrow. She says, definitely. In the meantime, Maxie has something she wants to say to him. Maxie says, well… um… and Austin says, it’s okay. She said she didn’t want him to bother her again, and he won’t. She says, it’s not a bother. She wondered if he’d like to attend the wedding of the century. And by that, she means the wedding of Carly Corinthos and Jason Morgan. She planned most of it, and it came out really nice if she does say so herself. He says, weddings aren’t his thing, and she says he could be her plus one. Curtis comes in carrying Jordan, and says they need some help here. Jordan coughs.

Sonny remembers saying, he may not know who he was, but he knows who he is now. And he knows Nina, and she’s been nothing but good to him. She’s his life. He puts the watch to his lips, gets up, and tosses it into the water. I so want this to work, and I so know it won’t. I’m not into the romance stuff, but this makes me want to cry.

Nina tells Jax, as far as Carly knows, she’s a widow. And she’s not too far off. The man she married is gone. Mike doesn’t even know her, and he doesn’t fit in her glamorous life any more than she fits in his. Jax says, there’s no justifying this. There’s no rationalizing this. So much damage has been done because of her lies. If she continues to keep this secret about Sonny, things are only going to get worse. She asks what he expects her to do. Sonny doesn’t know who he is. He says, because she hasn’t told him. She has to come clean. She has to make this right, and tell Sonny who is right now. Because the wedding is tonight.

Jason says he did fall in love with Carly when Michael was a baby. Then she was with Sonny, so he would only let himself see her as a friend. A friend who he loved, and a friend he’d die for. That’s how he justified putting her first, because he wasn’t in love with her, and it wasn’t about having her. But now the feelings are coming back. It’s like she said. They can stop it now, and it will be awkward for a little while, but it will pass, because they’ve definitely been through worse. Or they can get married for real; spend the rest of their lives together. She says, can he make that promise? and he says, yes, he can. She asks if he’s not just saying that because he thinks he should, and he takes her hands. He tells her, he’s saying it because it’s true, and they kiss. Bleh.

Tomorrow, Brook asks if Maxie is saying she’s a bad mom, TJ tells Jordan that she can’t stay there, Curtis says Austin’s face tells him the news isn’t good, and Sonny tells Phyllis that he’ll respect her wishes for now.

🥜 In a Nutshell…

On Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles, David and/or James said Fredrik would never get another listing from them, since he bragged about a sale when the client had asked for it to be on the DL. Derek told Fredrik that the LA guys were just threatened by him, since he was encroaching on their territory. But it was a legit complaint, since we saw a clip of the client sounding pretty pissed. JoshF teamed up with Nikki Haskell to broker a deal on one of the most beautiful homes I’ve seen on here. It had been owned by Peter Bogdanovich and Diane Keaton (not at the same time), and George Washington Orson Welles had also slept there. Designed by Wallace Neff, it was 8200 square feet, with 7 bedrooms and 9 baths, and Spanish tiles to die for in the kitchen. The asking price was $17.4 million, and the deal was done at $16.455 million. A bargain! In the meantime, JoshA was busy with a house in Bel Air, near the Playboy mansion and the late Aaron Spelling’s place. On the flipside, Tracy had a buyer who backed out because, at 6’5”, he felt he was too tall for the house.

Next time, a client wants Fredrik to team up with one of the Joshes, JoshF lies to a client, and Tracy’s client says she can’t go through it again.

💃🏻 Go, Go, Girl…

I knew I’d heard Nikki Haskell’s name before. And she was also a stockbroker before she became a real estate broker. She’s had a busy life.

🏯 Amazing Place…

👰🏼 Don’t Look…

Tradition says it’s bad luck for the groom to see the bride in her dress before the wedding, but it looks like Carly and Jason didn’t listen. We all know that marriage is doomed anyway. Maybe. You never know.

The late Nelle seems to be doing quite well with her next chapter.

🐄 Cows Officially Home…

If you listen real hard, the sound of the weekend, which is hopefully becoming a clearer concept these days. Unless you don’t want it to be. Then feel free to march to a different calendar. See you tomorrow for soap, tea, and a few wise words. Until then, stay safe, stay counting your blessings, and stay not being a Miss Schemer McSchemerson. It always ends up weaving a tangled web.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

✍🏽 Since I’m attending a 3-day virtual business conference, I wasn’t able to see GH at its regular time. It’s slightly condensed, because I need that pesky sleep, but I’ll be back to my regularly scheduled excruciatingly long transcripts on Sunday night.

General Hospital

Julian wants Ava to call him if she hears from their friend in Pentenville (i.e. Ryan). Sam tries to get nosy about it, but Julian blows her off, asking if there’s something he can help with. She says, it’s her mom.

Alexis is busy getting drunk at the MetroCourt bar.

Josslyn tells Dev that she’s going to talk to Cameron face-to-face, since he’s been ignoring her calls and DMs.

Trina shows up at Kelly’s while Cameron is working. She says they haven’t hung out in a while, and wonders, what’s up?

Jax sees Curtis at the MetroCourt with Jordan, and says he heard Nina hired him to help find her child. Curtis asks if it was Nina’s idea, or Jax’s.

Carly shows up at Nelle’s gravesite, and Nina says, wrong turn? but Carly says she’s right where she’s supposed to be.

Cameron tells Trina that he’s been busy with work, but she doesn’t buy it. He flashes back to when Dev showed him Josslyn’s journal, where Dev faked Josslyn’s writing, saying she didn’t like Cameron kissing her. Trina asks if he’s too busy to help her clear her father’s name, but he says, of course (🍷) not. She says the injustice of Cyrus walking around while her dad’s name got trashed is making her crazy. Cameron tells her not to worry; they’ll fix it. Trina thinks they should find out why Taggert came back to Port Charles in the first place, and Cameron suggests looking at his old reports. She says she’ll pretend she’s looking for mementos in his stuff. There’s no way her dad would set anyone up. He was a good cop. Cameron says he knows, and they’ll make sure everyone else does too.

Jordan excuses herself to let Curtis and Jax talk. Curtis walks, and Jax follows him. Jax says he senses mistrust on Curtis’s part, and Curtis says he doesn’t want to see Nina get hurt. Jax says, that makes two of them. Curtis asks if Jax is manipulating Nina the way Valentin did, and Jax says, absolutely not. He’s just there for support, but he appreciates Curtis looking out for her. Curtis says he was going to say the same about Jax.

Nina asks if Carly is going to create a problem. She made sure Nelle’s grave wasn’t near Mike and Morgan. Carly says she’s not going to cause trouble, and Nina asks why she can’t let Nelle go.

Sam tells Julian that Alexis is drinking again. She thinks it started after Neil died. Julian asks if she’s sure, and Sam tells him about Alexis drinking right in front of her, saying, Alexis almost seemed defiant. He says he’ll do what he can to help.

Jax tells Curtis, Nina knows they might hit a dead end, and Curtis says, or maybe there was never a baby in the first place. Jax says, Nina’s intuition tells her that her child is out there somewhere, and Curtis prays that’s true. Jax says, but he’s worried about Nina if it isn’t, and Curtis asks, isn’t Jax?

Carly tells Nina that she can’t wait for the day Nelle isn’t even a factor, and Nina says, apparently, that’s not today. Carly says she doesn’t know why she’s there, and Nina asks if she’s okay. Carly says she will be, and Nina asks if it’s possible to forget about Nelle completely, when she’s the mother of Carly’s grandson?

Trina tells Cameron that she needs their help; there’s strength in numbers. She says she knows him well enough to know he’s holding back. He says he wants to help her, and so does Josslyn, but he’s afraid he’ll mess things up. She asks, how? and he says, by having feelings for her. Possibly more than friends feelings. He feels like a jerk, since he feels the same about Josslyn. Trina says it’s her fault for sending mixed signals. She’s confused about her feelings too.

Josslyn tells Dev that she and Cameron haven’t talked since they kissed, and Cameron also kissed Trina. She doesn’t want to mess things up for them. Dev says, if Cameron is avoiding her, she has her answer.

Britt orders a drink at the bar, and Alexis says, the more, the merrier. She suggests Britt switch to vodka, but Britt says she has a meeting. Alexis says she remembers those. Britt asks if there’s someone she can call, and Alexis says, a dating service. Her last boyfriend died, and she’s looking for a new one.

Sam tells Julian, she’ll handle her mother on her own, when Cyrus walks in. Cyrus says he wants to purchase the bar, and believes Julian will find his offer impossible to turn down.

Britt asks how many Alexis has had, and Alexis asks if she’s reporting to Julian. Britt says no, and Alexis says Britt just sleeps with him. Britt says, not anymore, and for the record, she had zero idea that Alexis and Neil were a secret. Alexis says, so Britt didn’t actively try to destroy her life; she appreciates the distinction. Britt says, even though Alexis is hammered, she could take it down a notch. Jordan comes in, and asks if Britt has a minute. Britt says, lead the way, and tells Alexis, it’s been a pleasure.

Jordan tells Britt, law enforcement and public health go hand in hand. She had a collaborative relationship with Britt’s predecessor, and is hoping to carry it forward. Britt is in agreement, and asks how GH can help the PCPD. Jordan says, off the top of her head, combating child abuse, domestic violence, and of course (🍷) drug abuse.

Sam says she’d love to hear about Cyrus and Julian’s business together, but Julian says, there isn’t any. Cyrus says, there could be, and Julian should jump at the chance. Molly calls Sam, who steps away. Julian is miffed that Cyrus brought his proposal up in front of Sam, and Cyrus says he’s had ample time to consider it. He asks if it’s the size of the offer that’s the problem, but Julian says, it’s everything. He’s not parting with the pub. Cyrus suggests keeping him on as manager. He’d have the windfall of the sale, plus revenue from the job. Think of it as the evolution of the partnership they already have. The one that formed when he provided Julian with an alibi.

Jax says he doesn’t want to see Nina get her heart broken again, but it’s what she wants. Curtis says they know Nina won’t take no for an answer when she wants something. Jax says, she’s spent so much of her life wondering; he thinks she’s ready for an answer. Curtis says, even if the answer isn’t what she wants? and Jax says, yes. Curtis says Nina is going to need Jax if that’s the case. Jax says she’ll need Curtis too, and they agree to be there for her.

Nina tells Carly, Nelle is Wiley’s mother. One day he’s going to grow up, and want a headstone to visit. Nelle was a human being before her life unraveled. She’s not minimizing the horrible things Nelle did, but Nelle is dead now. Help her rest in peace. Carly says, Nina sentimentalizing a nightmare doesn’t make it less of one, and it’s going to be hard when Wiley finds out his mother was disturbed and killed people. Would it serve him better believing a lie? Nina says, there has to be middle ground, but Carly says, there isn’t when it comes to Nelle. She slit Brook’s throat and kidnapped Wiley. Carly thinks it’s all about Nina. She’s projecting. Nina did some bad things, and turned her life around, and she thinks Nelle could have too if someone had stepped in. Carly tried. Nina was nowhere near as toxic as Nelle on her worst day. Nelle couldn’t have been saved. Nina says, Nelle is dead. Carly won. Why can’t that be enough? She leaves, and Carly tells Nelle’s headstone she doesn’t know why she’s there. She doesn’t know why Nelle still matters. Why can’t she let Nelle go? A Carrie hand comes out of the ground, and Carly struggles with it, knocking over the gravestone. Nina comes back, and looks at Carly.

Julian says he didn’t ask for Cyrus’s help, and Cyrus says, Julian can’t deny he needed it. Be grateful. If Cyrus hadn’t stepped in, the police might have found out what led to Martin’s mugging. Julian says he doesn’t know anything about it, and Cyrus says, of course (🍷) not. Martin probably made many enemies, just representing Nelle. Perhaps as many as Julian made when he married her. He might want to think twice about rejecting a hand extended in friendship.

Sam tells Molly, mom has been off lately, and suggests they meet later.

Jax sees Alexis at the bar, and she says, this is what it looks like. Don’t sound the alarm; Sam already knows. Does he want to join her? For a drink, not a pity party, and not an intervention. Just sharing a drink with a friend. Some people don’t like to drink alone. She’s not one of them.

Britt says her boss has brought up drugs as well. It’s of interest, given the nature of his false imprisonment. Cyrus was deeply moved by the recovering addicts he encountered in the system. He wants to find a way to break the cycle. Jordan says, very admirable. Britt sees Jax, and says, her meeting is here. She tells Jordan that she looks forward to working with her.

Jordan joins Curtis. He asks if she’s wondering the same thing he is, and she says, why is Britt with Jax? He says, exactly.

Britt and Jax sit in one of the side alcoves, and Britt says her mother is obsessed with him. He asks how Obrecht is, she says they haven’t spoken since the WSB picked Obrecht up. She was hoping her mother had cleaned up her act, but not so much. He congratulates her on her new job, and assumes that’s why she wanted to meet. She says she needs money.

Dev says Josslyn and Cameron have been friends most of their lives, and Cameron has been ghosting her since they kissed. Dev doesn’t want to see her hurt, but doesn’t think Cameron’s that into her. Josslyn asks if they shouldn’t talk about it, and he says they can, but he doesn’t think Cameron is comfortable with it. Then there’s the whole Trina thing. She wants them to get together to help her clear her dad’s name, and Josslyn wouldn’t want things to be awkward between her and Cameron.

Trina says she might have feelings for Cameron too, and he wonders why things have to be confusing. She says, because feelings are messy. They change from day to day, minute to minute sometimes. Cameron says, it’s like going through a maze. You think you know where you’re going, then you’re lost. Trina says, the past few months felt like that. She thought about their kiss a lot. He says so did he, and she says, it doesn’t make sense. They were both messed up. She doesn’t know if the kiss was good or bad. He asks what they do, and she says, this, and kisses him.

Julian says, sounds like a threat. Go ahead. Cyrus says he’s merely reminding Julian that he did him a good turn, and could continue to. When it comes to secrets, he’s the exception to the rule that says, two people can only keep a secret if one of them is dead. He walks out, and passes Sam. She stares at Julian.

Trian says, wow, and Cameron says, wow good, or wow bad? She says, wow as in he’s an awesome friend, and that’s where they’re supposed to be. He says, she’s friendzoning him? He should be offended. She says he’s more sensitive than he gives himself credit for, and he says, don’t tell anyone. It will ruin his rep. She says she thinks he was picking up on how she thought she might have feelings for him, going back to their Niagara Falls trip. She didn’t want to go there, since he was in love with Josslyn. He tells her, nobody said anything about love, and she says she was creating a situation, when in reality there was none. The feelings she has for him are friendship. He says, what about him? She says if he wants to crush on her for the rest of his life, go ahead. He says, what about Josslyn? and she says, that’s for him and Josslyn to decide. He says he just wants everything to go back to normal. It’s their senior year. Before they know it, it will be mid-winter formal. She says she can’t wait to go to the dance with someone she really wants to kiss. He says, speak for herself. This last year has been tricky. He’s taking a break from relationship drama. She asks, for how long?

Nina asks, what happened? and Carly says she tripped. She was saying her piece, and lost her footing, and tripped. Nina says, and in the process, she accidently knocked over the gravestone? She couldn’t just leave this alone.

Jordan tells Curtis that she talked to Britt. She was feeling Britt out. Seeing if she’s worth it as a means to get to Cyrus. He asks what she thinks.

Jax asks Britt what the money will be used for, and she says she’s developing a new research program. Hopefully, it will return GH to it’s rightful place as a top medical institution. He says, it’s ambitious, and she says, it’s expensive. The recent legal issues tainted both the hospital’s reputation and finances. She needs his help. He asks, why not hit up her boss? Cyrus already bought his way onto the Board. She says, he’s already making a substantial contribution, and Jax says, that’s not enough? She says, not to sustain project, and from her understanding, he and the hospital go way back. He says, so did he and Monica. Britt says she’s channeling her inner Monica, and wants to restore the hospital back to its former glory. She understands he’s hugely respected. He says, he’s told Cyrus calls the shots now – literally – and she says, that’s out of her control. He says, he understands business is business, and sometimes you have to work with people you don’t care for, but Cyrus is in a whole other category. He was hoping Cyrus was deceiving her somehow, but she knows who Cyrus is, and it doesn’t bother her. It’s her prerogative, but he doesn’t do business with people like that. She says, that’s it? and he says, sorry. As long Cyrus is in charge, the Bank of Jax is closed. She says, interesting, his lofty standards, given who is brother is. She thought they’d be sympatico; the daughter of Faison and Obrecht, and the brother of Jerry Jax. Still, he judges the rest of them. He says he separated from his brother years ago. She says, keep telling yourself that. Jax’s phone rings.

Nina asks Jax to come to the cemetery. His ex-wife is having a moment.

Trina visits Josslyn, and says she talked to Cameron. He’s going help with her dad. Josslyn asks if Cameron is all good with them working together as a group, and Trina tells her, he said the important thing was, they all remain friends. He said he’s spending senior year free of relationship drama, and making no commitments. Joss says, sounds good to her. The less time they spend on drama, the more time they can focus on clearing Taggert’s name.

Dev sits with Cameron at the counter in Kelly’s. He says he’s checking in to see how Cameron is doing after what Josslyn said. Cameron says, those things were private, and Dev says if Cameron wants to tell Josslyn that he found the journal, go head. Cameron says he doesn’t want her to know he knows. She’ll make excuses that she didn’t mean it.

Jordan tells Curtis, Britt said Cyrus was all about using GH’s resources to combat drug abuse. He asks if Britt is in on it with Cyrus, or looking the other way, but she doesn’t know. She says, Cyrus didn’t sink his money into the hospital to become a patron saint. He’s got something else in mind. Curtis says, and he’s arrogant enough to think he can get away with it.

Britt calls Cyrus, and says she met with Jax. He asks if she secured the financial backing, but she says, not exactly.

Julian leaves a message that he needs help. He needs someone to disappear. Sam tells Julian, his meeting with Cyrus confirms what she’s known all along. He says, forget Cyrus. He wants to get back to her mom, but she says, after what she witnessed, leave her mother the hell alone. He says, in some way, her mother trusts him, and Sam says, look where it got her. Now he’s cozying up to Cyrus. Leave her mother alone, and if she comes in, don’t serve her. He says he’d never serve Alexis alcohol, but Sam says, the list of things he’d never do gets smaller every day. She walks out.

Alexis continues to drink. She says, one more. She’s got nowhere to be.

Carly tells Nina, she’ll pay to have it set. Jax arrives, and asks, what happened? Carly tells Nina, she said it was an accident. Nina tells him, Carly said she tripped. Carly doesn’t know why Nina called him, and Jax says, because she was worried. Carly says she’s fine, and Nina says, is she? She’s going, and hopes Jax has more luck with Carly than she did. She leaves, and Jax wants to know what’s going on. Carly says, it’s nothing. It’s nothing that needs to be discussed. It’s over and done with. She looks at the gravestone, and the leaves move. Presumably, it’s the wind.

On Monday, Alexis says Robert is the reason she’s an alcoholic, Dante thinks Maxie is making a mistake, and Sam wonders why Jason didn’t say anything to her.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Alexis and Valentin arrive at Neil’s memorial, and Alexis says she appreciates Valentin bringing her, but she’ll get a car back. He says he drove her there himself, and he’ll drive her home. She wonders when he got so chivalrous, and he says he’s leveling the playing field. She was good to him when he needed it. They go inside, and she sees a photo of Neil.

On her phone at the hospital, Sasha says she needs to make a purchase. The usual. She asks them to meet her at GH, and text when they’re outside. Chase startles her.

Brook gets that it’s a shock to find out Olivia is in Monte Carlo, and Ned says, in the honeymoon suit at a glamorous hotel, with ex-spy Robert Scorpio. She says he sounds insecure and jealous. She thought he and Olivia were solid. Did something happen? He says, ELQ happened. Olivia hasn’t been happy since he took over the company, then Robert was able to get her in to see Dante. She might have had a hard time leaving him. It’s not her fault; they’ll work it out. He just wants her home safe and sound. The same goes for Brook. Can he convince her to come home? She says she doesn’t think it’s a good idea for either of them right now, but she’ll do what she said. She’ll let him know where she lands. He thanks her for trying to make him feel better about Olivia. Brook says, don’t tell Olivia that she said so, but Olivia is smart. She wouldn’t blow things up like that. He tells her, call him if she needs anything at all. She says, okay, and he says, maybe there’s hope for them yet. She says, maybe.

On a private plane with Robert and Ethan, Olivia says, well, it’s official. Her phone is nowhere to be found. She left it in Monte Carlo. Ethan says there’s no Wi-Fi anyway; it’s intentional. Robert says, the Bureau likes to get a head start on spinning the story. The casino bust is a way for them to control the narrative. Ethan says his mother is dead, buried in a shallow grave. How are they going to control the narrative for that? Olivia says she’s so sorry. Holly probably would have been saved if not for her.

Josslyn and Cameron are at the Bistro. Which, by the way, suddenly has an identifying name. I’ve been calling it the café for years now. Cameron says they just saw each other. Why did she text him to meet her? She says she’s fine. She didn’t feel like being at home. Cameron asks, why not? and she says, Mike just died and her mom is acting upbeat about homecoming. Josslyn knows it’s for her sake, but figured if she wasn’t around, they could be honest about how they’re feeling. Cameron totally gets it. It’s strange at his house too. There’s tension, and his parents are pretending there isn’t.

Scotty tells Franco and Elizabeth that he met with Ava and Nikolas. Elizabeth asks, what happened? and Scotty takes out the phone, pointing to the pictures. He says he showed them boom… boom. Franco says the photos have remarkable composition, but he doesn’t like to look at a picture of Elizabeth with that other dude. Elizabeth says she doesn’t like to see him and Ava either. Scotty says, the make-out sessions were their idea. He thought it was hairbrained at first. However, the two of them are masterminds, and it worked out great. They’ve got Ava and Nikolas right where they want them – scared, and ready to pay. They all smile at each other.

Robert asks what Olivia is talking about, and she says Holly would be alive, but they didn’t get there in time. Robert took her to Geneva first, and it was a waste of time to try and see Dante. Ethan asks if the call didn’t come after Holly’s memorial, and Robert says he didn’t want to go to the memorial. He only went because Olivia badgered him into it. If she hadn’t, he would have been in Port Charles when Holly called. He would have had no time to get to Monte Carlo. Ethan says, and Winston would have covered his track. They wouldn’t have gotten answers, but because of Olivia, they did. Robert says, he can only speak for himself, but he’s sure Ethan feels the same. He’s more than grateful.

Chase apologizes, saying he didn’t realize Sasha was on the phone. She says, no problem; what’s up? He asks if she’s heard about Nelle. She asks if Nelle was captured, but Chase says her body was recovered. She’s dead. Sasha asks, how? and he says, her body was found on the Pennsylvania side of the river (🍷 – a new drinking game phrase for today). She asks if he’s sure, and he says the body was positively ID’d, but he’s there to get more details. She asks if Michael knows, and how he’s taking it. She guesses he must be relieved, for himself and Wiley. She’s sorry she feels this way, but she’s thankful they’re free from Nelle’s constant torment. Wiley is truly safe. She clutches her stomach a little, and he asks if she’s okay. She says she’s fine. It’s the finality of everything. It’s finally over, and it’s too late.

Scotty says they should have seen the look on Nikolas’s face when Nikolas saw it was him; like he’d seen a ghost. To be honest, Ava felt like he’d betrayed her. Franco says, if anything, she betrayed Scotty, since he’s Scotty’s son. Where’s Ava’s loyalty to Franco, and respect for his marriage? Elizabeth says Ava and Nikolas are both just as bad, using them as pawns in their chess game. All Nikolas cares about is the infidelity clause and post-nuptial agreement.

Cameron tells Josslyn, he walked in on a conversation where his parents were discussing the bills, and they froze up. They always change the subject. How interested in his soccer practice can they be? Josslyn says she knows what he means; it’s awful the way they find a way to cover, and make like everything is all right. He says he knows his parents took out a loan when the pipe burst. Britt Westbourne is Chief of Staff, and she hates his mom, so Britt cut her hours back. Franco thinks he’s going to be fired. For no reason. She says, like Monica and Bobbie were fired. Michael thinks they should sue. He doesn’t think that’s an option for his mom or Franco. He’s looking for after school jobs. He has to help out with the expenses.

Valentin asks if Neil had any immediate family, and Alexis says, he had a brother in New Jersey. She sees a man sitting down, and says, that must be him. Valentin says, why doesn’t she pay her respects? She goes over to the man, and asks if he’s Neil’s brother. He says he’s proud to say he is. She says she’s terribly sorry for his loss, and he thanks her. He asks if she worked with his brother. Valentin introduces himself, and Alexis does the same. She says, she and Neil… and Brendan (we find out his name in the course of conversation) says he knows who she is.

Alexis says, of course (🍷). He was probably told about the circumstances of Neil’s death. He says he was, and Neil used to talk about her. That surprised him, since Neil never mentioned his personal life. He didn’t have much of one. He dated, but never seriously. He kept saying he had finally met his match. Alexis says they had a special connection. He says, Neil was a wonderful, caring person, who spent his entire life helping others. She says she was extraordinarily lucky to know him. He says, she was, and he wishes to God Neil had never met her.

Olivia tells Robert, it’s ironic. She always loved spy movies. They were so glamourous and exciting. But when you really see what goes on, it’s not that glamorous anymore, is it? She starts to cry, and says, sorry. She gets up and goes (presumably) to the bathroom. Ethan asks what the story is between them, and Robert stammers a little. He says, him and Olivia? Ethan says, no, the other bombshell on the plane. Robert says, a couple of years back, he was a fugitive, and he… well, she… she’s married. Ethan says it never stopped Robert before, and Robert calls him Mr. Leap Before You Look. Ethan says, life is short. You’ve got to cut loose. Why wait in line? You should take all the chances you can, and a few more. Play the cards your dealt, and bluff if you have to. At least you know you lived. Robert says, for a moment, Ethan reminded him of Holly.

Chase tells Sasha, it’s not too late. They got exactly what they wanted. Not for Nelle to die necessarily, but be out of Wiley’s life. Michael and Willow don’t have to be married anymore. She asks, what if they don’t want to divorce? and he asks if she’s talking about the kiss. It’s natural that it would happen. They both love Wiley, but that doesn’t mean they have feelings for one another. One kiss doesn’t make a romance. She says neither one of them would take a kiss casually; that’s not who they are. As much as they’re hurt, she and Chase have to accept the truth. The kiss was a turning point.

Josslyn asks what kind of job Cameron is going to get that doesn’t interfere with school, homework, and soccer. He says all he knows is, he has to do something. They might be able to fool Jake and Aiden, but they can’t fool him. He sees how stressed they are about being able to afford college for him. She asks, what about a scholarship? and he says, soccer scholarships are mostly partial – if he gets one at all. Josslyn thinks he should get tons of offers, since he’s all-around amazing.

Elizabeth says, no party over what Ava and Nikolas did, especially Nikolas. She got her friend back, and watched him sinking lower and lower. Scotty says, he’s a Cassadine, but she says, he’s better than this. Now look at them, stooping to blackmail. Scotty says, they asked for it. Franco says, think about it. It could be the thing that keeps them afloat. Scotty says, it was a drop in the bucket. Nikolas and Ava were lowballing them. The reality is, they could probably get enough to pay off their mortgage, put Cameron through college, and have a cushion. Elizabeth asks Scotty what he’s done.

Cameron says Josslyn always knows how to make him feel better. She says, same. They’ve been through a lot together. He says, true that, and she says she hated house arrest. She was so lost without him and Trina; she felt left out. He says he missed her too. She says she knows he and Trina got closer during that time, with the whole kiss that happened. The important thing is, they got through it. It’s cool how they’re going to homecoming as a group. None of that date pressure. Everything’s back to normal, which is great, right? He says, yeah, totally.

Chase asks Sasha if she doesn’t see it. Everything has changed. Nelle is dead, and they’re free to tell the truth. She says, then what? Michael and Willow will realize she and Chase lied because they love them, and thank them for manipulating them for their own good? Now it’s over, and they can just pick up where they left off? He says he knows it sounds crazy, and she says, because it is. Stop living in a fantasy world. He says she’s acting like she wants Michael and Willow to hate them, and she says she didn’t mean to come at him. She’s not sleeping well. Launching Deception is a 24/7 job. He says, no doubt. He doesn’t think that’s all that’s going on.

Scotty says, when he saw the desperation on their faces, he knew Nikolas and Ava would pay, so he asked for $125K. Franco says, they agreed on $50K, and Scotty says, that’s not what he meant. He asked for $125K from each of them. Franco says, $250,000? What’s wrong with him? Elizabeth says, it’s a quarter of a million dollars; that’s extortion. Scotty says, what’s done is done. You don’t go back after a shakedown, and say, oops, I changed my mind. Even if they negotiate, they’ll come out ahead. Franco says there’s so much they could do. He and Scotty shake hands, and Franco says he’s got to hand it to Scotty. Bummer Elizabeth says she can’t believe what she’s hearing. It’s got to stop right now.

Robert says, Holly didn’t raise Ethan, but he’s just like her. Ethan says, coming from Robert, that’s a high compliment. Robert says he appreciated Ethan’s help at the casino. He doesn’t think he could have taken Winston down without him. Ethan says, actually, Olivia took him down, clobbering him with the Uzi. They laugh, and Robert says Ethan played a big part. Ethan says he wanted answers, and owed Robert one. Robert dropped everything to help them, leaving Port Charles and Anna behind to get them out of a jam. Robert says he got something out of it too; he reconnected to Holly. Too bad they couldn’t make it last, but they had a great time. Ethan says he didn’t hang around much after that because of his guilt. Robert says, about what? and Ethan says, about letting Robert think he was Robert’s son.

Valentin says he realizes the difficult circumstances, but Brendan’s words are uncalled for. Brendan doesn’t think so, and Alexis says, let him speak. He obviously has something say. Brendan says he wasn’t sure he’d get the opportunity to talk to her. He didn’t know if she’d dare show up. From what he can see, she caused more sorrow than joy. Neil took it hard when they broke up, and he couldn’t pursue her. He was moving on, then he bumped into her at the opera – the one night that ended his career, the one thing that kept him going after his daughter died. His practice helped others, and it drove Neil to despair. She dismantled his life and Neil took what was left, and threw it away on a drug overdose.

Josslyn tells Cameron, she’s seen the Crimson wardrobe vault – it’s the 8th wonder of the world. Cameron must be anointed to be allowed access, Cameron says it was complicated. Nina is all about the fit and the cut, and all the accessories; a shirt, the collar, a tie, cufflinks. She asks if he found anything he liked. She thinks it will pay off. He says he plans on looking smoking hot, and she says she bets he will.

Scotty says Elizabeth wants to torpedo their plan. Ava and Nikolas are the ones acting like bad guys, and messing with his family. He takes family seriously, and thought she would too. Franco says he thought what her friend did was unacceptable. He wants them to feel what’s it’s like to be used and tricked. Scotty says, if not, they can feel it in their wallets. Elizabeth says, blackmail is a crime, and she wants no part of it. Franco shouldn’t either. Scotty asks if she thinks they’re going to the cops. Franco says, come on. Technically, it’s not blackmail until money exchanges hands. They don’t know if Ava and Nikolas are going to pay at all, so maybe wait see what happens. She says, okay. When are they meeting with Scotty? Scotty says he gave them 24 hours. They’ll never know Franco and Elizabeth had anything to do with this; it’s all on him. Franco says he appreciates everything Scotty had done for them, and says, Elizabeth? She says she knows Scotty’s heart is in the right place, and she appreciates that he’s overprotective of his family, even if they don’t agree on his methods. He says, no one messes with his family. Not on his watch.

Robert says, all the same, what are the odds he and Ethan would be stuck on the same plane? Get it over with. Ethan says Robert thought Robin was dead, and Holly told him Ethan was his son, so Robert would feel obligated to save him. Robert says Ethan’s real father had a big hand it; it’s a convoluted Spencer special. Holly lied to give him hope, but without Holly and hope, he doesn’t know if he would have survived. She was almost always right. Ethan says, and she never let them forget it. Robert says, that’s for damn sure. They drink.

Chase says Sasha is trying to hide her feelings, but he can tell she’s struggling. She’s trying to convince him, but giving up Michael is too painful to admit. She says she wishes she could, and he says, she buried herself in her work, so she doesn’t have to face what’s going on. She says she never expected life to turn into this, and he says the two of them are in it together. He’s here for her anytime she wants to call, and she knows he’ll understand. She thanks him for being a good friend. Brook appears, and says, hey, roomie. Sasha says she’s on her way out, but Brook tells her, don’t jump to conclusions. She’s just crashing at Chase’s place. He’s being a sweetheart, but nothing is going on. Sasha says, nothing is going on with her and Chase either. Chase says there’s something Brook should know; Nelle is dead. Her body was recovered on the Pennsylvania side of the river (🍷). He’s going to the morgue to follow up. Brook says she should be sorry for the loss of any human life, but all she feels is relief. Chase says, him too, and he moves along. Brook says, wow. Nelle is dead. (I expect her to say, and her body was recovered on the Pennsylvania side of the river, but she doesn’t.) Sasha asks if she’s okay, and Brook says she’s just processing. Sasha doesn’t blame her, and says Brook has been through a lot. Brook says she’s on the mend, and stronger every day. Sasha says she’s glad to hear it. They need her voice for Deception. When is she recording a new song?

Valentin says, Neil was a grown man; he made his own decisions. What happened was tragic, but don’t put it on Alexis. Alexis says Brendan has a right to feel the way he does, and Brendan says, the memorial is a celebration of Neil’s life. She stripped him of everything worth living for. He doesn’t want the memorial tainted with her presence, and tells her that she’s not welcome. Alexis runs out crying. Well, he’s not making a very good first impression.

Chase orders some food to go at The Floating Rib. Valentin and Alexis walk in, and Valentin suggests she get something to eat. She says she doesn’t have much of an appetite, and he says, Neil’s brother was out of line. He’s grieving, and needs someone to take it out on. He chose her. She says Branden used words that she can’t unhear, and watches as a drink is poured.

On the phone, Josslyn says she’s glad Carly called, instead of waiting until she got home. She’s with Cameron, but she’ll see Carly soon. She loves her. Cameron says he heard her say Nelle was dead. Is she really gone? Josslyn says her mom told her they found the body on the Pennsylvania side of the river. (🍷) He asks, what happened? and she says, it’s too early to say exactly how Nelle died. He says, after everything that happened, it’s really over. Nelle is gone.

Alexis tells Valentin, she can’t be angry with Neil’s brother. He didn’t know how their relationship was. Ned comes in, and orders a double scotch, neat, at the bar. Chase asks if he’s okay, and he says, just great, throwing back his drink. He doesn’t know whether to be annoyed with Chase or grateful that he’s letting Brook stay. If he hadn’t, it might be easier to convince her to come home.  Chase says he tried to give her options. At their table, Valentin says, Brendan is furious that Neil threw his life away, and is looking for someone to blame. She’s an easy target. Ned tells Chase, women like to have options, loud enough for Valentin to hear, and looks pointedly at Valentin.

Ethan says, all the stories he heard of their adventures together; Holly loved Robert, in her way. Robert says he loved Holly. That’s all he wants to say about it. He’s sorry she wasn’t a conventional mother. Ethan says conventions are overrated. They were perfect partners in crime. They could go a month not seeing each other, then she’d then send up a flare, and he’d come on the run. The cons were just an excuse. She really wanted to spend time together. Robert said she knew she could trust him, and Ethan says he doesn’t know how to get over it, but it helps knowing there’s someone else out there who remembers her too. Olivia comes back, and says, sorry for making a scene. How did the two of them manage without her? Robert says they buried a few hatchets, and Olivia asks when they’re landing. Robert tells her, he’ll check with the pilot, and goes up front. Olivia tells Ethan, when they get there, she’s putting him up at the MetroCourt; no argument. He says he appreciates it, but as soon as they touch down, he has a date in Antigua. She asks, what it would hurt to stick around Port Charles?

Sasha says she has to go, but she wants to see Brook in the recording studio asap. Geez, Brook practically just got off the operating table for an injury to her vocal chords. I know Sasha is high, but come on. Brook says she’s going to have to extend that timeline, and Sasha says Deception gained momentum from the Nurses Ball telethon. Brook says, her doctors haven’t cleared her for singing, and Sasha says, sorry. She’s just excited. She’s a partner, and brand ambassador. The projections are through the roof. It’s going to be a huge success, and she wants Brook to be a part of that. Brook says she does too. She’d love to be involved in the business aspect. Sasha says she didn’t think Brook was interested in that, but Brook says, sure she would. She’s always wanted to be part of a winning team. Sasha says Brook doesn’t have to prove her worth. They just want her voice; it’s more than enough.

Franco tells Elizabeth, it’s just a threat. They’ll destroy the picture, whether or not they pay. She says, okay, but he says she’s still angry. She thinks they deserved a scare. Marriage means nothing to them, and everything to her. She doesn’t take what they tried to do lightly. Franco says, they were just trying; no real damage was done. She says, right, and he says, checking in. Around the time of the party, things were rocky. Elizabeth says, she’s glad she overheard Ava and Nina talking about Ava’s post-nup and wanting Nikolas to cheat. She finally understood what was going on. Franco says they feel solid. Does she think they’re better than ever? Elizabeth says, yeah. They never lost faith in each other. It doesn’t matter what happens with Ava and Nikolas. Clearly, they’re the winners. They hug.

Cameron asks if Josslyn is okay. How does she feel about things, honestly? She says, conflicted. She can’t tell him how much she’d wished Nelle would disappear and not come back. Nelle deliberately set out to ruin her mom’s life, and manipulated her to go against her mom, and she let Nelle do it. She should hate Nelle, but despite all she did, she’s the reason Wiley exists, and she can’t regret Wiley. So being glad Nelle is dead is harsh, but she’s relieved that Nelle will never hurt them again. Does that make her a horrible person? He says, no, but it does add another thing to deal with. Josslyn says she should get going. She needs to start getting ready for homecoming if she’s going to keep up with him. Cameron says she always looks beautiful, and Josslyn says she should probably go.

Brook tells Sasha, she has a follow-up appointment with her surgeon, and Sasha says, her too. She means an appointment. She tells Brook, hurry up and get well. She can’t wait work with Brook. Sasha leaves, and Brook says she has to figure out how to be the voice of Deception without a voice.

Chase tells Ned that he doesn’t think Brook would be this angry if she didn’t love him. At the table, Valentin tells Alexis, she wants to blame herself, but she’s not the reason Neil did drugs. Chase tells Ned, Brook couldn’t be indifferent if she wanted to, and Ned thanks him for trying. He walks over to the table, and asks if he can have a word with Valentin. Valentin says he’s a little busy, and Alexis says she’d consider it a favor. Valentin says, okay, as a favor. He and Ned go outside, and Alexis joneses after the alcoholic drinks.

Ethan says, Port Charles hasn’t been his home in years, but Olivia says, Robert is there, and they’re both grieving Holly. They can help each other. Robert says they don’t have to be in the same city. If Ethan is in a tight spot, he’ll be there, like his mother would have. Ethan says, it goes both ways, and Olivia asks if he’s absolutely sure. Ethan says he has a score to settle, and Olivia hopes when he’s ready to settle down, Port Charles is the first place he thinks of. He says he’ll keep it in mind.

Valentin tells Ned, if he wants to talk about ELQ, call his office. Ned calls him a smug bastard, saying Valentin preyed on his daughter when she was vulnerable. He’s not letting Valentin do the same to Alexis. Valentin says Ned is drunk, and starts to walk away, but Ned grabs him and punches him.

Alexis orders a double vodka.

On… whatever day it’s on next (see below), Portia tells Curtis that he shouldn’t be asking questions, Robert asks Peter if he was missed, and Olivia tells Lulu about seeing Dante.

👷🏽‍♀️ You Know the Drill…

It’s that time again. Those two days that may or may not have taken on a whole new meaning for you. As the Dowager Countess said, what’s a weekend? I say it too, but it’s because I never get one. I’ve questioned the validity of the word vacation for quite a while too. Regardless of how you view them, make the next two days different. What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

😳 Oops. My bad. After the insane week I’ve had, I had a hard time reading my own shorthand yesterday and attributed Nelle and Brook’s final words backward. Sorry about that. I did question myself at the time, and should have known Brook would never back down to Nelle. The correct version is in today’s post. Moving forward…

Lucy welcomes us back, and says, once again, the 2020 General Hospital Nurses Ball telethon, a spectacular event to raise money for frontline workers’ special safety equipment. It’s a great honor to introduce everyone’s favorite nurse at GH, Epiphany Johnson. Epiphany comes out, and explains that hospitals are a collaboration. They aren’t made up of just doctors and nurses, but orderlies, lab technicians, cleaners and other workers. Together they provide essential services. These are incredibly stressful jobs, and take their toll on service providers and their families. The viewer donations let them know that the community they support, supports them back. Lucy says the telethon is a way to say thank you to all the medical personnel and first responders, who are heroes, along with their families, and who do so much for them. While the viewers are making donations, they’ll be entertained with amazing acts still to come.

In the bathroom, Ava tells Nina, the Cassadine men do have a way of getting under their skin. Nina says, which brings her back to Nikolas. Is he trying to make Ava jealous by making a fuss over Elizabeth? Even if they’re married in name only, flirting, especially with a married woman, is just tacky. Ava says, and also profitable. If Nikolas sleeps with another woman, he’ll break the infidelity clause, and she’ll wind up with 90% of the Cassadine estate. Nikolas can shower tributes on Elizabeth to his heart’s content, and if he woos her into bed, Ava gets the payoff she deserves. Inside one of the stalls, Elizabeth listens.

Carly tells Jax that Josslyn called. He wonders if there’s something wrong, but she says she thinks Josslyn was just checking in. She might be looking for a congratulatory present. Jax asks if Carly knows Josslyn has been angling for a car, and Carly says she does. She’ll let him handle that. Before he leaves, Jax tells Nikolas, the scholarship for the nursing students in Elizabeth’s name was generous, but maybe he should have thought about it a little more. Franco says, Jax has a point. Next time a wave of generosity washes over him, he may want to shower it onto his wife.

Michael explains the Quartermaine relationships to Willow, telling her, Tracy married Luke. Michael thought it was a fraudulent marriage, but he can’t keep track. They definitely turned out to be life partners though. She asks if unconventional marriages are a thing for the Quartermaines, and he says they wouldn’t have it any other way.

Monica sits back down on the couch, and says, still sleeping; disaster averted. Julian comes up behind her, and chloroforms her, knocking her out. Wiley sleeps peacefully with Mr. Hopsicle.

Brook tells Nelle that she can’t wait until Nelle is hauled off in handcuffs in front of everyone there, and all the people viewing at home. Nelle says the police won’t believe Brook; they’ll say she’s harassing Nelle. Brook says, she’ll call Michael, and he can call the police, but Nelle smacks the phone out of Brook’s hand. Brook says, no worries. Mac is there; he can arrest her himself. Brook heads for the door, and Nelle says she’s sorry. She picks up the shears, and asks Brook to pretend that she didn’t see or hear anything. Brook turns around, and stupidly walks back to Nelle, and says she messed with her last Quartermaine. Nelle slashes at Brook, and we see blood on the shears. Why? Why do they always do that? Like Tuco said in The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, if you’re going to shoot, shoot; don’t talk.

Michael sees that Brook called, but didn’t leave a message. Willow says maybe Brook wanted to make peace with him, but he say she doesn’t need to. He didn’t like the idea that she sold her shares, but so did other members of his family. At least she didn’t know she sold them to Valentin. She says he’s less worried than Ned seems to be, and he says he hates the idea of Valentin being in charge, and intends to force him out eventually, but in the short term, Valentin is a smart businessman. He doesn’t think ELQ will suffer. Willow says he doesn’t think of it as a betrayal, so maybe he should tell Brook. He tries calling.

Nelle stands over an unconscious Brook, and says she should have been nicer, more sympathetic. Her mistake. Now Nelle’s plan to have Wiley vanish has gone south. She needs to go. Brook lies on the floor in a pool of blood, next to her ringing phone. Nelle slips out.

Monica is knocked out, and Julian says, sorry. He turns off the TV, and his phone dings. He sees a text from Nelle that says, the timetable has been moved up. We need to move now. Is it done? He closes the doors to the living room, and trots up the stairs.

Michael gives Willow a bottle of water, and raises his own, saying, to Wiley, and his amazing new life. He’s safe from Nelle because of her. Willow says, because of us, and Diane. He says, to Wiley and Diane. Carly watches, and smiles. Michael smiles at Willow, and little hearts start to pop out of his eyes.

Lucy asks Amy if she’s found Jordan. Maybe she’s warming up, since she’s the next act. Amy says she couldn’t find Jordan, so she asked Curtis, who said she was called away on a case. Lucy says, no; that doesn’t work. Jordan is the Police Commissioner. She doesn’t have to solve every case. She can delegate to other police people. Lucy can’t delegate an act. Amy says she called the PCPD and the hospital, but no one has seen her. Lucy will have to cut her number. Lucy says it can’t just be her out there; she needs acts. Acts and asking for money. They need alternate activities. It’s like the NFL draft, but she doesn’t have an act to draft. Amy tells Lucy not to panic; she can panic later. She asks if Lucy wants to shut the Ball down, and Lucy asks if Amy is losing her mind. She tells Amy to find Epiphany and Deanna, and warm up. She’ll stall. She’ll do a tap dance. She doesn’t know how to tap dance. She hates tap dancing. She’ll just stall.

Anna tells Valentin that his song was beautiful, and he says, at least someone appreciates it. She says false modesty doesn’t look good on him. It was wonderful, and he knows it, as was his pledge. He asks if she’s going to chastise him for burnishing his public image. She says, isn’t he? and he says, that’s part of it. He hears congratulations are in order. She must be thrilled for Peter and Maxie. Being a parent changes everything. It makes you better. It did with him and Charlotte, and her and Robin. Maybe it will with Peter. She says, of course (🍷) it will. He hopes so, and says, some mistakes are impossible to fix.

Nina tells Ava, Franco is her friend. She hopes Ava isn’t playing with his marriage. Ava says she’s doing no such thing. She’s heard rumors that under that angelic façade, Elizabeth is chronically unfaithful. If she chooses to break her vows to her husband, Franco should know the truth. Nina sees one flaw in Ava’s big plan. The way she and Nikolas were looking at each other, either she’s getting good at pretending to love him, or something changed in the last few days. Ava says Nina is projecting her issues with Valentin onto her. They leave, and Elizabeth comes out.

Michael tells Willow, they’re supposed to take a tally, and give Lucy the paperwork. What if after that, they sneak out? She says, abandon their post? He says they’ve done more than enough. They can go home, and check on Wiley. She says he’s making her an offer she can’t refuse. She glances at Sonny, and says, did she really just say that? They leave to finish up.

Lucy says hello to all their gorgeous, generous, amazing donors. They’re doing a great job, and she hopes they realize how important it is to the frontline workers who help them every day. When they work together, they do something more than raising money. They’re building a community, and showing the medical personnel and first responders that they support them. Any amount is great. Keep pitching in, and they’ll keep entertaining. They’re in for a special treat.

Nelle dashes through the corridors in the MetroCourt, and around runs outside. Julian sends a text that says, it’s done.

As Monica sleeps, Julian comes downstairs with Wiley, and leaves with him.

Michael and Willow arrive home, and Michael says, sorry the evening crashed and burned. She says, it didn’t. She had a good time. He says, until Chase and Sasha. She says, they were fantastic (I guess we don’t get to see that), and he says, someday it won’t hurt so much. Until then, they can make some popcorn, and watch the funniest movie ever made. She says he doesn’t have to cheer her up, and he says he’s cheering himself up. They sit on the stairs.

Sonny says, Michael and Willow aren’t coming back? and Carly says, they probably went to check on Wiley; they’re such good parents. Sonny says he’s glad it wasn’t her idea; Chase and Sasha pretending to be involved so Michael and Willow would get married. Face it. It’s exactly the kind of plan that’s up her alley. She says, back in the day, 100%. She’d be seeing all of their hearts breaking and feel guilty. Instead, she’s grateful Michael and Willow got custody of Wiley, and Wiley got the best stepmother on the planet. Sonny says he knows there’s too much going on, and Carly asks if he wants to check in with Turning Woods, but he says, no. They’ll call if there’s any change. The best thing he can do for his dad is to stay and support the people who have given him such amazing care.

Olivia tells Ned, she’s trying to call Brook, but there’s no answer. He says, his problem daughter? No surprise. He tells Olivia to save the lecture for now, but she says she’s just expressing her opinion. He says, on this topic, they’re one and the same, and she says he’s scaring the hell of her. She’s heard stories about his grandfather, and his intentions were good, but his methods were toxic. She says this with love, but he’s turning more into Edward every day. He says, that’s not true, and she says, prove it. Find his daughter, and talk to her.

We see Brook lying on the floor, unconscious.

Ned asks if Dustin and Lulu have seen Brook, but Dusting says, not for a while. She might be warming up. They’ll go check. Ned thanks them.

Robert asks Olivia if she’s got a minute, and she asks if he’s okay. He says he has good news. The commissioner at the Bureau said he can get her in to see Dante. Olivia gets super excited, and asks, when? Where is he? Robert says, he’s at a facility in Geneva. No civilians are allowed, so he’ll go with her. The supervisor is waiting for his boss to return, and there’s a narrow window. They have to hurry. He’d like to leave now if they could. She throws her arms around him, and thanks him. Ned watches.

Willow says, popcorn and the funniest movie ever? and Michael says, if only to cheer him up. Feel free not be cheered, since it’s only about him. He asks what she’d like to see, and she asks him, promise not to laugh, but he says, that’s the point. She says it’s a kid movie, with silly humor, and he tells her, cue it up, and he’ll check on Wiley. They go into the living room, and see Monica asleep. Michael tries to wake her, but she stays out.

Julian waits at the pier, and says, sorry, Wiley; you deserve better than this. Unfortunately, your crazy birth mother has other plans. Why is he going along with it? He’s the world’s biggest coward. He should have told Sonny that he knew all along, but Sonny can kill someone. He’s run out of options. He flashes back to telling Ava, go ahead. Tell him what an idiot he is for getting mixed up with Nelle. Ava asks what on earth was he thinking, and why hasn’t he killed her yet? He says he wouldn’t be there if she didn’t have him over a barrel. Ava says if he thinks Nelle will release him when it’s over, he’s a damn fool. On the pier, Julian says, maybe not.

Lulu says, if she’s not backstage, Brook probably bailed, but Dustin says, she might have stage fright, but she wouldn’t run away. They go into the makeshift dressing room, and see Brook on the floor. Dustin runs to check her pulse, and Lulu says, oh my God. Dustin tells her, call 911, and tells Brook to wake up.

Lucy tells the viewers that the Nurses Ball is still so passionately committed to HIV and AIDS. Sonny and Nikolas’s generous donations will be going to those charities. She wants to introduce a woman committed to both causes, and welcomes Anna. Anna thanks the viewers for their donations. She’s been answering the phones, and got to speak to some of them; they’ve been lovely. She’s grateful for their generosity. The Nurses Ball has a special place in her heart, and not just because she received a lovely marriage proposal on this very stage a year ago from Dr. Hamilton Finn (I always forget he has a first name). She says, it’s special because so many lives have been touched by HIV and AIDS. She’s the mother of an HIV survivor. She was diagnosed at a time when the prognosis wasn’t as optimistic; a time when prejudice and fear were more rampant. Her daughter Robin, and countless others, are alive today because of medical research. Perhaps that’s why Robin became a doctor herself. This leads her to tell them how important the telethon is. She served as Police Commissioner, and saw how closely first responders and medical staff work together. Their work is vitally important. The police, doctors, the ambulance crew, the hospital cleaners; no one does their job alone. They need each other, and we desperately need them. So give what you can. Any donation, whatever size. I have a friend who was diagnosed with HIV many years ago, like Robin, and he’s doing fine today.

Elizabeth tells Franco, Nikolas isn’t the problem, Ava is. She’s playing emotional chess with Nikolas, and they’re the pawns.

Robert tells Olivia he has to go back inside. Anna is going to have a fit because he wasn’t there during her speech. Olivia says, tell her the truth. He found a way for her to see her son; Anna will understand. He says he’ll be waiting, and she says she doesn’t know how  to thank him. He leaves, and Ned comes out. He says, amazing. They have a fight and she runs to Robert because he says the right things. Olivia says it has nothing to do with their marriage. Robert found a way for her to see Dante. Ned says, that’s great news, and Olivia says, he’s at a facility in Geneva. Robert knows the guy in charge. Ned says he’ll change his schedule, and they’ll go, but Olivia says Robert has to sneak her in as it is. Only one person can go. Ned says, okay, and Lulu comes running in. She says, Brook has been attacked.

Michael begs Monica to please wake up. Monica opens her eyes, and asks if everything is all right. He says she scared him half to death. Is she okay? She says she must have dozed off, and Michael says she was sleeping pretty heavily. Where’s Wiley? She says she doesn’t remember. The phone rang, and she’d left it in the foyer. She came back in, and heard Wiley. Michael asks if Wiley was downstairs or did she hear him on the monitor? Willow says she’ll check the nursery.

Nelle goes to meet Julian, and asks where Wiley is. He says Wiley is safe in his car, and she asks if he’s saying he’s giving her a set of wheels. That’s totally nice, but unnecessary. Just put Wiley in her car, and they can get going.

Elizabeth tells Franco, Ava is encouraging Nikolas to cheat, so she can get the Cassadine fortune. Franco says she has it backward. Nikolas is the one who’s playing them.

Lucy thanks everyone, saying the Nurses Ball was a resounding success; just amazing. She’d like to thank the volunteers who jumped in at the last minute, and gave generously of their time, and  the amazing performers backstage who pitched in and made this happen. She thanks her rack of gowns on stage with her, and goes behind the rack, coming out in a volunteer T-shirt and jeans. She says the most deserving of all is their amazing audience. It’s her great pleasure to introduce the intrepid nurses of GH. Epiphany, Amy, Deanna, and an unidentified flying nurse sing. I’ve had zero luck with finding the titles of songs I don’t recognize, but if I can find a list, I’ll post them. They sing in front of a grid with candles everywhere on it, and I think, that’s impressive for something done on the fly.

Backstage, Lucy smiles at her success.

Brook is taken out on a stretcher, while Mac gathers evidence. He asks if Dustin and Lulu saw anybody. Did anyone look like they were fleeing the scene? Lulu says, they didn’t see anyone. Ned tells Brook to hang in there. He won’t leave her side. He’ll be right there. They leave, and Finn goes with them. Mac tells Lulu and Dustin, if they remember any detail, no matter how small, call him.

Michael asks what Monica was doing before she fell sleep. Was Wiley downstairs, or in the nursery? She says she doesn’t remember, and Willow runs down the stairs. She tells them, Wiley’s not in his room, and Monica says, what?

Nelle says, all right, hubby; it’s been fun, but it’s time go. Julian says, sorry, but she’s not going anywhere. She asks what he’s talking about, and he says she pushed him too far. Now he’s pushing back. He takes out a gun.

To be continued…

On Monday, Portia has an update on Brook, Nina tells Jax not to hate her for what she’s going to say, Julian tells Nelle that someone has to stop her, and Sonny says someone is going to tell him right now.

🏍 Moving Forward…

Next week has to be better, right? Right? Enjoy your weekend, or pretend it’s the weekend, depending. Until Monday, stay safe, stay supportive of the front line, and stay away from psychopaths with fabric shears.
