Standard

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

Apparently, an election happened that we didn’t get to see, and Drew’s acceptance speech is on the TV at the Brown Dog Bar. Michael says he’ll pay the bartender 50 bucks to turn it off.

Backstage, Drew thanks various people, and Nina says, he did it. He says, we did it, and they hug. Carly walks in.

At the Quartermaines’, Lois says she thought Ned would be at Drew’s victory bash, but he says he snuck out when Tracy’s back was turned. She tells him, admit it. He’s avoiding her like everyone else in the house. Something is going on and she’s not moving until he tells her what it is.

Gio says, Sasha got a package, and gives it to her. She says, it must be the cookbook she ordered, and opens it. Chase comes flying in and says, don’t open that. We see it’s a book titled First Time Fathers.

In her office, Maxie thanks Sonny for meeting her. As soon as he signs some papers, she can go to Drew’s victory party. Natalia comes in and Maxie says, perfect timing.

In semi-darkness, Alexis sits at her desk at work and looks at a family photo. Kristina comes to the door and asks if Alexis is okay. Alexis says she’s better now, and they hug. Kristina says, good, because there’s something she has to tell Alexis. She’s fine, but yesterday she had a minor car accident. Alexis asks why Kristina didn’t tell her yesterday, and Kristina says she wasn’t going to tell her at all.

Nina says, Drew is on his way to Washington. Congratulations. He thanks her, and Carly comes over. She hugs Drew and says, now that Larry is gone, she’s glad they have another honest man in Washington. In the background, Jack walks in, and Carly tells Drew that Sam would be proud of Scout’s dad.

Jason says he thought Michael and Drew were close, and Michael says, they were until Drew started kissing his wife. Jason says, what? and Michael says he shouldn’t have blurted it out like that. Jason asks if they’re having problems, and Michael says he didn’t think so. He came into the living room, and something was going on with Tracy, Ned, and Drew… Jason says, if Michael doesn’t want to talk… but Michael says, if he doesn’t, he’ll explode. Drew was about to tell him something, when Willow and Nina came in. He could tell by the look on Willow’s face that something was clearly wrong. Then Drew said he kissed Willow. Jason asks what he did, and Michael says, he came here and ran into Sasha. Jason says, it’s good to see a friendly face, and Michael says, they were both upset, drinking, and he made everything worse. Jason asks, how? and Michael says he slept with Sasha. Now he thinks his marriage is over. (I love how Jason just never overtly reacts to anything.)

Nina finds Willow in the bathroom and asks how she’s holding up. Willow says, it’s wonderful that Drew won. He’ll make an excellent congressman. Nina says, yes, far away in DC.

Jack congratulates Drew, and Drew asks Jack’s name. Carly realizes they don’t know each other and introduces them. Drew says, Port Charles’s new WSB Station Chief. His reputation precedes him. Jack says, as does Drew’s.

At the victory party, Curtis says, what a night, and Portia says, he’s in a good mood. He says, their good friend just got elected to congress, and they clink glasses. He says, now that Drew is on his way to DC, he’ll no longer be the interim CEO at Aurora. Drew is going to make him permanent CEO.

Chase says, the packages must have gotten mixed up. That’s his. Sasha hands him the book and asks if Brook is pregnant. He says, they’re trying, and Gio says, how’s it goin’, bro? Sasha says, he knew? and Chase asks her not to say anything. Brook is under enough pressure. Gio says he didn’t tell anyone, and backs out of the room. Sasha says, she’s so happy for Chase.

Lois says, tell her what happened, but Ned says, nothing. She says, he’s lying. Something happened and she missed it. He asks if she’s suggesting drama happened in this house, and she says, and he knows what it was. Spill it. He says, yes, but he can’t tell her. Brook walks in, and Lois says, fine. Brook will tell her, won’t she? Behind Lois, Ned shakes his head and mouths, nooo.

Sonny gives Maxie the papers and says, now she can go to her party. Natalia says she’ll lock up, and Maxie says, cool. She leaves, and Natalia asks, how’s Kristina? Sonny says, she went to the doctor and she’s fine. Thanks for calling him. She says she’s just glad no one was hurt, and he says, Kristina admitted she shouldn’t have been driving. Natalia says she’s been there. Luckily, no one was hurt during her behind the wheel meltdown. He says he’s sorry, and she says she’s sorry about a lot of things. He says, such as? and she says she wishes she’d done better by her children.

Michael tells Jason that he loves Willow, and he loves their life, but they keep lying to each other. Jason asks, why? and Michael says he doesn’t know, but they don’t trust each other. Jason asks what he wants to happen, and Michael says he wants things to work, but they both slept with other people. Jason says, Michael told him Drew and Willow kissed, and Michael says, that’s what they admitted to, but he found out they’re sleeping together.

Jordan tells Drew, congratulations. For what it’s worth (🍷), he’s doing an excellent job. He says he hasn’t done anything yet, but she says, he has the confidence to be the man his constituents expect. That’s a tall order when he’s dealing with a loss. She has experience putting on a positive public persona regardless of what was going on in her personal life.

Maxie says she’s sorry she’s late, and Spinelli says he has to meet Jason. She says she’s glad Spinelli reached out, but Spinelli says, Jason summoned him. Maxie wonders if Jason is going to rope Spinelli into another caper and says she thinks it will be good for him. He asks her to remember she said that in case there is a caper afoot, and she says, or Jason has hit an emotional rock bottom. How is he doing? Spinelli says, staying strong, but he’s sure the loss is weighing mightily on him. She says, Spinelli too, and Spinelli says, he lost his partner in truth and crime. She says, they wouldn’t be together if not for Sam. They owe her forever. She needs to talk to Nina. Go see Jason and she’ll see him at home. They kiss and part company.

Maxie finds Nina and asks if she’s told Willow that she slept with Drew yet.

Lois asks, what happened? and Ned says, Brook wasn’t there. Brook says she wasn’t there, but she knows what it is, and Ned throws up his hands. Lois says, tell her, but Brook says she can’t. Lois says, she’s Brook’s mother. She gave Brook her life. Use it wisely. Brook says, it’s not her place, and Lois asks why no one is going to tell her what’s going on. Brook says, because she can’t keep a secret.

Sasha says she won’t tell Brook that she knows, and Chase says, they’re under so much pressure since they decided to have a baby. It’s all he can think about. Sasha says, he’ll be a great dad, and Brook will be the coolest mom. Their kids will be gorgeous. Chase asks how she’s doing, and she says, about what? Cody? Her mother? He says, she was kidnapped. Start there. She says her mother already left town. She hopes she took the danger with her. He says he’s sorry about Cody, and she says she always wanted more family, but not the guy she fell for, yet here they are. Chase says, on the bright side, she has a huge, new family, and she tells him, that’s what Felicia said. He asks how she feels about it.

Natalia says, being estranged from Allison opened her eyes. She saw Sonny with Kristina, and it made her wonder if she was doing right by Allison. If she’d gotten that call, she would have swept in and taken charge, focusing on her minor injuries. She wouldn’t have seen that her daughter was in emotional pain. It’s easier to take care of burns and scratches than getting children to open up.

Kristina tells Alexis that she was driving, and she got blindsided by a wave of grief. She got into a minor fender bender, but no one was hurt. She slept at Sonny’s. Alexis says, she told her dad? and Kristina says she asked Sonny not to call Alexis, but he pointed out that it wasn’t right to keep it from her. He said, they needed each other more than ever. Alexis says she agrees and thanks Kristina for telling the truth.

Jason asks how Michael got the footage, and Michael says, they got a new nanny, so he got a nannycam. Jason asks if Willow has seen it, but Michael says, no. He can’t believe she cheated on him. Jason asks if he thinks it’s a one-time thing, but Michael says, no. Willow’s not capable of a one-night stand. That’s not who she is. Jason asks what he thinks is happening, and Michael asks, what if Willow is in love with Drew?

Natalia tells Sonny, when Allison was little, she’d sing to herself. She immediately made plans for Carnegie Hall and the Met. She had big dreams, but it never occurred to her that Allison might have dreams of her own. He says, we all know what’s best for our kids, and she says she wanted Allison to have everything, and she knew what it took to get it. But she realized the more she tried to control, the quicker she was going to lose her daughter. Sonny says, they can’t make their children’s choices, but they can be there if they ask for help. She says, it sounds simple, but he says, it’s not, especially with Kristina. She’s the one he worries the most about of all his kids. She’s the most like his mother Adela. She was too good for this earth.

Chase says he can’t believe Sasha’s dad is the DA, and Sasha asks what he’s like. Chase says he wouldn’t want to up against Robert in a courtroom, but he doesn’t know him personally. Did they talk? She says, a little. She said she needed time, so he said call when she’s ready. Chase says, so he’s available to her. He heard Robert’s taken a leave of absence. She says, he skipped town with her mom. She’s glad he’s out of town for a while. It gives her time to get used to the idea. It’s nice to know she’s not alone in the world. She never expected to have a dad. She doesn’t know what that’s supposed to look like. He says, every father/daughter relationship is unique, and she asks if that means he’s hoping for a boy or a girl. He says, yes.

Lois says, Brook doesn’t trust her, but Brook says, it’s about discretion. Lois says, name one time she hasn’t been discreet, and Ned says, when she told Sonny that it was Nina, not him, who called the SEC. Olivia specifically asked her not to tell Sonny. Lois says she had no choice morally. Why are they assuming she’ll spill? Ned says, because she’s terrible at keeping a secret. Right, Gio? (Gio is no doubt sorry he walked in just now.)

Michael tells Jason that he never thought Willow would be unfaithful. He’s a hypocrite too, since he slept with somebody. Jason says, that doesn’t make it hurt any less, and Michael says, she broke her vows. She must be in love with Drew. Jason says, he won’t know unless he talks to Willow and listens to what she has to say, but Michael says he’s afraid she’ll say they have no future.

Curtis says, congressman, and Drew says, them being here means a lot. He thanks Curtis for everything he’s doing at Aurora, and Curtis he’s having the time of his life, but it’s only the beginning. Drew suggests they talk another time, and Curtis agrees. Tonight is about Drew. (As is probably every night from Drew’s perspective.)

Jack says, Carly is on good terms with her ex and a newfound politician’s influence can help business. Carly says, they’re friends. She doesn’t care about that. He says, but now Drew is in a position to be useful if she needs something. She says she doesn’t use her friends, and he says, she’s never asked for a favor? She says she doesn’t consider that using. It’s sad that he does. He says, everybody uses everybody, and she says she doesn’t and neither does Drew. Jack says, so Drew has no possible ulterior motive for getting romantic with her?

Willow and Drew see each other across the room and smile.

Nina tells Maxie that she hasn’t told Willow, and Maxie asks how well keeping secrets has worked out for her. Nina assures Maxie that nothing is going on, and Maxie says, anymore. Nina says, never again. She’s going to wash that man out of her hair. Maxie says, this is the classiest way to run someone out of town, and Nina says, despite Drew’s flaws, he’ll be an excellent congressman. Maxie says, he made out with his nephew’s wife and slept with her mother, but Nina says, plenty of politicians have indiscretions. Maxie says, oh my God. Nina is still sleeping with him.

Willow says, Drew’s acceptance speech was wonderful, and he says he wouldn’t be here if she hadn’t convinced him to run. Her faith in him pushed him to be better, to do better. She says she has faith that he’ll do great things. She’s sorry Sam isn’t here to see it. He says, she knows him. She always does. He was thinking about Sam. She asks when he’s headed to Washington, and he says, after the funeral. She says she’ll miss him, but it’s for the best, and he says he’s hoping this makes it easier, although he’s not sure anything will. She says she needs to find Michael and congratulates him again.

Lois asks if Gio is in on this too, but Brook says, he’s not in on anything. Gio says he has no idea what he walked in on and he’s going to stay out of it, and Brook says, good instinct. She needs to check on her husband. Gio says, he’s with Sasha in the kitchen, and Brook leaves. Lois looks at Gio and he jets. She tells Ned that she always does what she thinks is right, and he says, that’s admirable, but what’s right for her may not be right for the family. Please drop it. Lois says, fine, and leaves.

Kristina says, Alexis wasn’t at home, so she figured… Alexis says she was distracting herself at the office, and Kristina says, she’s lucky she has an office to go to. She’s going out of her mind. Alexis says, Kristina has to find something to try and occupy her mind, and Kristina says she has no purpose. She’s not working at the foundation, and she has no child to care for. Alexis asks what she can do to help, but Kristina says, nothing. She suggests they get a burger. Forget what she said. Alexis says, Kristina promised to be upfront with her, and Kristina says she was thinking about Danny and Scout. They’re going to grow up without a mother. And Dante is so completely lost without Sam, who died while trying to save Lulu. Alexis says, there are so many questions and there will never be answers, but Kristina says she just has one. Why did she live, and Sam died?

Jason thanks Spinelli for meeting him, and Spinelli says, Maxie thinks some intrigue will be good for him. What’s the quest? Jason asks if they’re any closer to finding Valentin, but Spinelli says he’s scoured the digital world, but there’s no trace of the errant Cassadine. Jason says, he probably had help from the WSB, and Spinelli asks how he knows. Jason says he doesn’t, but Jack Brennan said, if they find Valentin, it will be bad for Anna. Spinelli says, challenge accepted. How should he proceed? Jason tells him to focus on Brennan. See if there’s any indication of contact with Valentin. Spinelli says, the WSB’s anti-hacking measures don’t make it easy. That’s where Sam would get involved. Jason says, she was great at that, and Spinelli says he misses her so much. Jason pats Spinelli’s shoulder.

Portia says she’s proud of Curtus, and he says he can’t wait to take Aurora to the next level. He has big plans, and not just for Aurora. (You see where this is going, right?)

Drew finds Michael and says, just the man he wants to see.

Brook finds Chase and sees the book. He says, due to a mix-up, Sasha knows they’re trying, but Sasha says she won’t say a word. Sasha tells them that she has an early morning. Goodnight and good luck. She leaves, and Brook says, Chase doesn’t need a book. She’s seen his incredible dad skills with Violet and Bailey Lou. He says, they’ll do everything for Project Baby Bump, but she says, they’re not calling it that. He says he can’t wait to see her pregnant, for real this time, and she says, he’s lucky he’s cute, and kisses him.

Sonny tells Natalia that anything good in Kristina comes from his mother. She was caring, loving, and amazing. She forgave everyone even when she shouldn’t have. Kristina is like that. She sees the best in people when sometimes they don’t. Natalia says she thinks that’s why Kristina is easily disappointed, and he says he wishes his mother had recognized how strong she was. She didn’t deserve what she got and kept on getting it. She gravitated to men who treated her horribly and she put up with it because she felt like she couldn’t make it on her own. Natalia says, from what she knows about Kristina, that’s where she and Sonny’s mother are different, and Sonny says, yeah. Kristina doesn’t put up with anything from anybody. It’s one of the things he most loves about her.

Alexis says, Kristina’s sister would never want her to wish it was her, but Kristina says, Sam was loved by so many and had so many dependent on her. She has nobody. Alexis says, the list is too long to name, but Kristina says, it’s not the same. Alexis says, all she knows is, Sam died, and Kristina didn’t. That means she’s here. Don’t waste it. Kristina says, that’s her point. Sam never wasted a moment. She’s wasted plenty. Alexis says she doesn’t want to argue. Kristina matters. Her life matters. She has a beautiful heart. She’s fierce and kind and gets under people’s skin like nobody else Alexis has known. Kristina matters to her, and she needs her. Don’t forget that. She wanted to ask Kristina something else. Was the car accident an accident? Kristina says, yes. It wasn’t even an accident. It was a minor fender bender. If Alexis is asking if it happened because she was trying to hurt herself, the answer is no. In fact, she’d been thinking how much worse it could have been when she got hit. Her answer is what she has to live for.

Michael asks what else Drew wants, and Drew says, since he won the election, he wants clarity for the future of Aurora. Curtis has done great things in the interim, but there’s one person whose vision and savvy will take Aurora to great heights. Will Michael do it? Willow comes over and says she was looking for Michael. Michael tells Drew that he needs to talk to his wife, and Drew steps away. He asks if Willow can leave, and she says she has her car. He says he’ll meet her at home.

Carly says, Jack is disgusting, and Jack tells her to stop flirting. They’re in public. She says she and Drew are friends, nothing more, and he says, Drew waltzes back into town… She says, after being a captive in a Cassadine dungeon, and he says, Drew was on the outside looking in and there she was, his friend and a heavy hitter in Port Charles social circles. She asks his point, and he says, Drew got his social standing back because of her. Now he’s moved on. She says, he went to prison for her and was nearly killed, and he says, Drew never expected prison. He thought he’d get a slap on the wrist. It’s not the heroic sacrifice she thought it was. She asks if that’s how he sees friendships, as potential assets ready to be used. Is he using her now?

Maxie says she doesn’t want to see Nina hurt, but Nina says, Drew can’t hurt her. She doesn’t care enough. Maxie says she didn’t say Drew would be the one to hurt Nina, when Drew joins them. Maxie says, they were just talking about all the good he’ll do in DC, and he says he’s looking forward to it. She says, aren’t we all? Drew says he still has a list of donors he needs to thank and asks if Nina is available now. She says, perfect.

Spinelli asks if Jason needs to talk, and Jason says he’d like to run something by Spinelli as a father. Spinelli asks what’s on his mind, and Jason says, Danny wants to live with him. Spinelli says, Jason is his father, and he has much to time to make up for, and Jason says, Danny also wants to stay with Scout and Rocco. Spinelli asks how that would work, and Jason says, it wouldn’t. He doesn’t want to turn Danny down and keeps struggling. He wants to let Danny make his own decision. Maybe the right move is to not move in with him. If that’s what’s best for Danny, then maybe he should take a step back again. Spinelli asks if that wouldn’t be painful, but Jason says he’s not worried about himself. He just needs to protect the people he loves.

Chase suggests they take it upstairs, and Brook approves of the plan. He says he’s bringing the book, and she says she loves how thorough he is. He says he’ll show her how thorough he is, and they leave.

Portia says, it sounds like Curtis has big plans, and he says he’s aware of things that haven’t been considered important. Kids need varied experiences and need to discover what they love on their own terms. He got to thinking how music shaped his dad’s life, and it’s the first thing eliminated from school curriculums. He’s thinking with the new income, he could start a music program for kids in the community center. She says she loves the idea.

Jack asks how he’d be using Carly. He asked for her help once about Jason because lives were at stake. When has he asked anything else of her? She says, people like him trick and deceive. He could be using her right now. He says, what about her? How does he know she’s not using him? She says she guesses he doesn’t. (I tell Carly to stop picking on my Jack.)

Natalia says, Kristina is lucky to have a father like Sonny, but Sonny says he thinks he’s lucky Kristina forgives him his shortcomings. Natalia says, he thinks that’s impressive? Kristina forgave her. That’s one for the record books. He says, she has a big heart, like his mother, and she says he doesn’t give himself enough credit. The resiliency she admires in Kristina comes from him.

Kristina says, if she’d died with the baby, she wouldn’t be able to testify against Ava, and Alexis says, her something to live for is getting back at Ava? Kristina says, Ava is the reason Adela had no chance to live and she has to pay for that. Alexis says, that’s her newfound purpose? and Kristina says she’s alive to get justice for her daughter, with Alexis’s help.

Willow arrives at the gatehouse and Michael is already there. She says, he told her that he wanted to talk. What is it?

Nina says, now Drew has to govern and then do this again in four years. They go into the Quartermaine mansion, and Jason walks out. He just stares at Drew.

Tomorrow, Brook tells Lois, that was really bad; Kristina tells Alexis, in this case, justice and revenge go hand in hand; Ric says, Ava taking the stand is the only weapon in their arsenal; and Ned asks a bleeding Drew to tell him what the hell that was about.

✈️ They’ll Always Have Port Charles…

I thought it was sweet; bittersweet for Diane. I hope Holly comes back, but even more, I hope Diane finds someone who looks at her the way Robert looks at Holly.

🧂 Salting the Glass Rim…

Salt Lake descended on Palm Springs to rehash the same arguments they were having in Salt Lake. Of course, at dinner or breakfast or anywhere it can ruin a meal. At breakfast, Lisa threw Whitney under the bus, saying she was the common denominator and a sh*t stirrer. Lisa’s John came up with the scathingly brilliant idea that Lisa should have a conversation with Bronwyn one on one, since the problem was between them. What a concept! In Bronwyn’s interview, she applauded John being the man to swoop in and solve their women’s problem. Bronwyn’s Todd couldn’t take it and had to leave the table. Not blaming him one bit. Seth put on his superhero cape next, suddenly changing the subject to the smell of urine after eating asparagus and then suggesting a game of volleyball. It’s finally happened. While the Jersey husbands have often been in the mix, now the Househusbands of Salt Lake are getting involved. Again, what NeNe said. They need to get out of women’s business.

Mary wasn’t in much of the episode. She was concerned about Robert Jr’s lack of ambition and doing nothing but lying around in bed with his girlfriend all day. It was both amusing and disturbing watching Mary have a conversation with him, while his girlfriend sat next to him in bed staring straight ahead.

Whitney wasn’t sure she could trust Lisa, but also wasn’t sure how many f***s she gave about it. At dinner, Bronwyn tried to make light of things and toasted to a good story. Angie brought out whiteboards to play The Newlywed Game after dinner, and Lisa kinda, sorta apologized to Justin, causing Whitney to say in her interview that she was putting a button on the topic of Alibaba. I think that’s the same as putting a pin in it, but fancier. In Bronwyn’s interview, she said she was willing to say it was her at this point, just to get off the subject. Because Alibaba was dead (for now), Lisa jumped back on the bandwagon of being upset with Shawn for saying she used her son as a pawn to deflect from her own situation. Shawn summed it up best in saying that everything had seemed okay. He’d thought they were good, then Lisa brought it up again. This is the case of pretty much every argument on the show, just inserting different names. Shawn didn’t feel he’d done anything wrong, and Whitney asked for proof. Seth googled it, putting the blog headline in Whitney’s face and yelling, proof, beyatch! Whoa, Nellie. WTF?

Todd tried to shut everything down, and in her interview, Bronwyn said that Todd had a stopping point and there was no going past it. In Todd’s interview, he said they weren’t having this discussion at dinner on their anniversary. His stopping point must have worked some magic, since Whitney said they had a good time for the rest of the night. She thought they were all going to be in a better place the next day. Bronwyn arranged for the group to go to an Indycar series event and mingle with famous drivers. Lisa and Bronwyn talked things out, and I’m not sure if anything was resolved, but they hugged it out.

As of this posting, there were no recaps per se, but there was this.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

At the Surf Lodge, Trina bumps into a guy, while she’s carrying drinks back to the table she’s sharing with Josslyn. She spills some on him.

Jason meets Elizabeth at the Brown Dog Bar, and she thanks him for meeting her. He asks if she’s checking on him, and she admits she is. She wanted to see how he was doing after Sam’s death.

Lucky finds Laura at the hospital, and asks, what’s going on? Laura says, it’s Lulu, and he asks if she’s okay. She says, that’s the problem. She doesn’t know, but Dr. Robinson has an update. It’s about time they got some information.

Robert walks into Diane’s office, and she says, he resurfaces. The man, the myth, the legend. She’s thinking he’s more myth than man lately, because he’s a hard person to reach. He says he’s sorry he hasn’t been available. There’s been a lot going on. She says she’s all ears.

Holly goes to Anna’s office, and Anna says she’s done for the day, but Holly asks Anna to hear what she has to say. Anna says she’s spent the entirety of her day cleaning up Holly’s mess. She has an exploded warehouse, massive overtime she has to account for, and the press breathing down her neck. It’s just the wrong time, wrong place. If Holly has more chaos that she needs assistance with, Anna suggests she see Robert. Holly says, Robert can’t help her, and Anna says, can’t or won’t? Maybe what happened with Sasha is just too much. Holly says she can’t go to Robert. She needs Anna’s help alone. Anna asks, why? and Holly says, because she’s about to disappear on them both.

Trina apologizes, but the guy says, it’s all good. She goes to sit with Josslyn, and the guy sits with his friend. The friend says he thought the guy was leaving to stretch his legs, but the guy says he’s feeling better. He looks over at Trina.

Trina says she’s an idiot, and Josslyn asks if she knows who she was talking to. Trina says, no. Should she? Joslyn says, he’s the QB1, and Trina says, Obi Wan? Josslyn says, he’s Kai Taylor, PCU’s star quarterback. He might take them to the playoffs. She talks a bunch of football stuff and tells Trina that he’s amazing. Trina asks if she said Kai Taylor. She knows that name. She stares daggers at Kai.

Jason says, there have been a lot of distractions since Sam died, and Elizabeth says, that can be a good thing. He says, it doesn’t feel real. He wants to do what’s best for Danny and find them a place to live, but he and Scout just had their whole world turned upside down and he doesn’t want to separate them. She says, Sam would want them to stay together. Rocco too. He says, they’re family, and not just to him, Drew, and Dante, and she says, it’s complicated. Where are they now? He says, the Quartermaines, and she suggests maybe he move in there too. He said himself that he’s Danny’s only parent now. Danny needs him, so don’t let anyone talk him into giving Danny up, including himself.

Lucky and Laura sit in Portia’s office, and Portia tells them that Lulu’s recovery is a success so far. She lists the medications Lulu is on, and Laura says, it sounds like a lot, especially after medication damaged her liver, but Portia says, they’re monitoring her closely. She’s tolerating the medication with no sign of rejecting the liver. Laura asks, what’s next? and Portia says, Lulu should be ready to be transferred in two weeks. Laura says, that sounds fast, but Portia says, now that she’s stabilized, Lulu will be more comfortable in assisted living. She understands that they’re not taking her back to Silver Waters. Laura says, not after what happened. They agreed on Turning Woods. It’s closer to Port Charles, and it’s gotten good reviews from people they know. Portia says, it’s an excellent facility, and Laura thanks her for everything, including Isaiah doing the operation. It took a village. Portia says she’s glad it was a success, and Laura thanks her again.

Robert tells Diane that he didn’t mean to drop out. It’s been a lot to process. He’s still processing. She says she’s about to make it a whole lot easier on him. She likes him – a lot. She thinks he’s a really good guy despite his rascally grumpy ways. He says he’s not grumpy, and she says, okay. When they decided to give this a go, she gave him an ultimatum. All or nothing. She refused to come in second. She looked at it like a contract and he agreed to her terms. They began their courtship and she hasn’t regretted it. He says, neither has he, and she says, but love isn’t a contract, and despite his best efforts, he’s still in breach because he loves Holly Sutton, not her. He can’t stop it, even if he tried, and he shouldn’t have to.

Holly says she’s leaving, and Anna asks if she doesn’t feel like she should stick around for Sasha, but Holly says, Sasha is better off without her. And she needs to attend to this. She shows Anna a diamond, and Anna says, of course (🍷). She should have known Holly would take care of herself first. Holly says, it’s her best chance at freedom, and Anna says, unless Sidwell finds out. Holly says, Sidwell is the least of her worries, and Anna asks, what’s the most? Holly says she needs to convert the diamond to cash. Then she’s going to buy in to a high stakes poker game. Anna says she can’t risk it. The cash will keep her comfortable for a while. She needs to be smart and invest in things that have longevity. Holly says she has no time to wait for stocks to mature. Her life is on the line. She owes a huge debt and needs a lot of money. Anna asks who she owes the debt to, and Holly says, a criminal syndicate. The diamond she stole is going pay her debt. If she doesn’t pay… Anna says, she’s as good as dead, and Holly says, not just her. Robert and their daughter.

Laura tells Lucky that things are moving, and he asks if she doesn’t want them too. She says he wants to keep Lulu with her.

Holly explains that when she got involved with the criminal enterprise, she was freelancing for the WSB, and Anna says she’ll call Jack. He can deal with the Bureau and get them to pay her tab. Holly says she just came from Jack’s office. The WSB disagrees with their level of liability. She was hoping Jack would advocate for her, but his best offer was a ride out of town so she can disappear. Anna says, they hung her out to dry. Is that why she linked up with Sidwell? Holly says, it’s not because she had feelings for him. It’s probably best Anna doesn’t know any more. Sidwell was going to be her biggest score. She was going to use it to pay off her debt, take care of Sasha and Ethen, and retire. She was thinking of a villa in Italy. Anna says, she’ll never retire, but Holly says she’s been curious about hobbies… Anna asks if Holly came here thinking she’d help fence the diamond, but Holly says, what she wants is for Anna to look after Robert.

Robert says, Diane is wrong if she thinks he doesn’t love her, and she says she believes him. And she believes what he feels for her is separate from what he feels for Holly. But she had to be honest with herself. Sam’s sudden death made her think about all the possibilities life has in store for her. She doesn’t want to spend one second as someone’s consolation prize. He says, that’s not what this is, and she says she’d be a wonderful partner for him, but he wouldn’t make a wonderful partner for her because she’s not Holly. She wants someone to look at her the way he looks at Holly. Her very expensive advice is for him to find Holly and make it work this time. He deserves happiness. Off with him. Go find her. Don’t let her get away.

Trina asks if Josslyn is sure his name is Kai, and Josslyn says, yes. Everybody knows, present company excluded. Trina says she doesn’t believe it, and stomps over to Kai’s table. She says she needs a word, and he asks if they’ve met. She says, if he bothered to show up to Art History class or reply to her project emails, they would have met. But he decided to leave her hanging with their assigned project and if it affects her grade, they have a problem.

Anna says she can understand Holly being worried and focused on her own safety. She’ll call Jack and see if he can give her protection. Holly says, he’s putting her on a plane to Lisbon. It was her only option. Anna says she thinks Holly will be more exposed in Europe and should consider staying in Port Charles. It would be more difficult to get to her here and she has more resources. Holly says she can’t risk putting Robert and Sasha in danger, not after she ruined Sasha’s life. She needs to give them some distance. Sasha needs her to give them some distance. She loves Robert. Anna can doubt what she likes, but never doubt that. That’s why she’s asking Anna to look out for Robert. Anna says she would even if Holly hadn’t asked. They have history and he’s family. She loves him too. Holly says she knows, and Anna says, if Holly is thinking of disappearing, she should be honest. Go see Robert and talk to him. Tell him where she’s going. And if she can’t do that, then just tell him goodbye. She thinks Holly owes him that.

Robert leaves Diane’s office, and Diane quietly cries.

At the Brown Dog Bar, Lucky asks if Elizabeth minds if he joins her. She says she’d be mad if he didn’t.

Holly goes to Robert’s office, but it’s empty. She takes a piece of paper and pen out of his desk and writes, My darling Robert… She flashes back to telling him that there’s never been a moment she’s loved anyone more than she loves him right now and kissing him. She writes, I hate to say goodbye again, but I must. My love for you always, Holly. She puts a kiss on it and folds it.

Elizabeth says she heard Lulu is recovering well, and Lucky says he wishes Lulu’s life hadn’t cost Sam hers. Elizabeth says her too. She’s coming to terms with it like everyone is. He says, none of it played out how he thought it would. He thought he’d fly in and save the day. It turns out the real heroes were here all the time. Elizabeth says, you know what they say. Not all heroes wear capes.

Anna meets Diane at – where else? – the Brown Dog Bar, and suggests the server just line them up. She asks if Diane’s emergency has anything to do with Robert, and Diane says, the one and only. Does Anna ever have regrets over losing Robert? Anna says she never lost him. He’s been a continual pain in the neck for most of her life. She doesn’t mean to make light of it. Clearly something happened. Diane says, yes, Robert left an indelible impact on her life, and Anna says, her life will go on.

In the nook, Jason asks how Danny is doing, and Danny says, fine, all things considered. He’s surprised how normal is feels living at the Quartermaines. It used to feel temporary a lot of the time. Jason says, because his mom picked them up, and Danny says, it’s strange going back. He doesn’t know where home is without mom.

Kai says, he’s taking Art History? and Trina says she can’t imagine there’s two Kai Taylors. He says he doesn’t set his schedule, and she says, he doesn’t know what classes he takes? He says he has a tutor who takes care of his academic stuff, and she says, he gets to pass class without showing up and doing the work so he can throw a football around. Kai’s friend says, they’re undefeated. Kai is going to the NFL. Trina says she heard. His name is attached to her Art History project, and he’s responsible to do his part. Kai’s friend says, he has no time for class, and Trina says she can see that, and walks back to her table.

Lucky tells Elizabeth, now that Lulu is stable, she doesn’t need him. He was thinking of heading back to Africa. He’s sorry. He can’t stay in Port Charles.

Jason says he’s sure Danny is wondering how his living situation is going to change, but Danny says he’s pretty sure he knows. Rocco overheard Grandma Alexis and Dante talking, and Grandma Alexis wants them to live with her. Jason asks if that’s what he wants, and Danny says, what he wants is impossible. Jason says, he doesn’t know until Danny tells him, and Danny says he wants them all to stay together. Rocco too. Rocco’s not technically family, but he’s like Danny’s brother. Jason says, they are family, and Danny says, they’re family because of mom. If he can’t stay here, does Jason think he can live with him?

Laura massages Lulu’s hand and says, she has to let her new liver get to work and keep making her stronger. She’s not giving up on Lulu. She never has and never will.

Anna asks if it has to do with Holly, and Diane wonders what the hold is Holly has on Robert. Anna says, it beats her. She doesn’t understand it, but their bond is unique. Diane says, one for the ages. Her life will go on. Anna says she’s living proof, and Diane says she’s strong and independent… Anna says, gorgeous, and Diana says, and gorgeous. That’s what she told Robert. Anna asks, what happened? and Diane says, he came to her office. She could tell he wanted to break it off, so clever girl she is, she made it easy and beat him to the punch. Anna says, she might want to rethink that. Holly is leaving town tonight.

Holly waits at the airstrip, and calls Sasha. She gets voicemail and thanks Sasha for unblocking her number. She wants to say that she has to leave town. She wants Sasha to take good care of herself. Get to know Robert. She has a lovely, big family now, and they’ll take care of her. She’s sorry she can’t do it herself. She’s sorry about how things were left. Sasha is strong and capable, and she knows Sasha will find her way. She’s leaving to keep her safe. It’s the best she can do for her right now. If she can try to find a way, please forgive her, and don’t forget how much she loves her. Until they meet again, bye. The pilot tells her, everyone is on board. They’re almost ready for takeoff. Holly says she needs to make one quick call, and he says, hurry. She calls Robert and he picks up. She asks if he got her note, and he says, yeah. She’s leaving without seeing him. She says she wanted to. She came to his office, but he wasn’t there. Please believe her. She didn’t want to leave without seeing him. He says, in that case, turn around. She does, and there he is.

Trina tells Josslyn, he didn’t know what classes he has and has no time for email. Josslyn tells Trina that she’s not saying it’s right, but sometimes it happens with these guys. He’s a top player in the league and is going pro. His schedule is packed with training and practice. His entire focus is on football. It’s like a full-time job. Trina says she’s glad that impresses Josslyn. Her full-time job is getting a GPA and she’s not going to let Obi Wan affect her grade. She’s going to ask the TA for a replacement.

On the phone, Kai says he wants to access his school email and let him know what classes he’s enrolled in. His friend asks why he’s letting that girl get to him. Who cares about art class? He’s golden. Kai says, not if he’s messing with her grade. He’s got to figure out something. His friend leaves.

Elizabeth says, if Lucky can’t stay and he’s headed back to Africa, safe travels. She gets up to leave, but he puts his hand on her arm. He says he didn’t mean to upset her. He knows she’s thinking about Aiden. He is too, but he doesn’t know what good he is to Aiden. She says, he’s Aiden’s father, but he says, not for most of Aiden’s life. She says, now he has the chance. It’s not her job to beg him to stick around and he’ll do what he wants anyway. He says, hear him out. He came back to save Lulu’s life. It was never his intention to stay. She says, the heroes he spoke of, Sam was a hero. She risked her life to save his sister and now she’s dead, leaving two heartbroken children. Does he realize what Sam would give for one more hour with her babies, or what they’d give to hug their mom? If he did, he wouldn’t be asking for her understanding or her blessing. He can hop back on a plane and abandon his child again, the son who loves him, who lights up when Lucky says something that sounds like support or praise. He hasn’t had that from his father most of his life, so no, Lucky isn’t getting support from her. Leaving Port Charles is on him. God forbid he should pick his loving boy over his next great adventure. She leaves.

Jason tells Danny that he’s not saying Danny can’t live with him, but they don’t have to make a decision just yet. There are a lot of things to take into account. Danny says, Grandma Alexis and Dante… and Jason says, and his mom. She’d want him and Scout to be together. Danny says he can’t leave Scout. She’s young and she just lost her mom. She needs him. Jason says, he’s a great big brother. He’ll talk to everybody, and they’ll do right by them. That’s the most important thing. No matter where they live, Danny’s got him. No matter what.

Laura says she has to confess it’s not easy visiting Lulu. She’s lying in bed when she was always active. She thinks Lulu ran before she could walk, and she didn’t stop when she grew up. She lived fast and furious. She’s been sleeping a long time now and they have a debt to pay. Sam is gone. She died after the surgery. Sam was so much like her – tough, beautiful, smart, brave and feisty. She loved her kids as much as Lulu loves hers. Now part of Sam lives on the inside of her. They have so much to be grateful to Sam for. They can’t let her gift be given in vain. Lulu must wake up now. Come back to me, my brave, beautiful, strong daughter.

Holly asks if Robert got her note, and he says he did. She asks how he found her, and he says, give him some credit. He called Jack, who’s maybe a sentimental softie. Holly says she doubts it. She thanks him for coming to say goodbye and not holding it against her. He says he didn’t come to say goodbye. He’s coming with her. She says she’s in terrible trouble, and he laughs and says, what else is new? She says, Sasha needs her father, but he says he missed out on too much time and he’s not missing out on anymore. They kiss and she asks if this is really happening. He says, they’ve got a plane to catch. He promises her and Sasha, it’s a round-trip ticket. They link arms and walk into the fog.

Like Casablanca with a happy ending.

Tomorrow, Curtis tells Portia that Drew is going to make him permanent CEO; Alexis tells Kristina that she couldn’t agree with anything more; Michael is afraid Willow is going to say there’s no future for them; and Maxie asks if Nina has told Willow that she slept with Drew.

🥀 Saying Goodbye to JaSam…

It must be double tough for the character and the actor to be saying goodbye at the same time.

🗽 An Apple a Week…

Brynn’s new thing seems to be using the term basic bitch. I’m putting it with YOLO, and wondering if people say that anymore. It’s like, once something is overused, I feel it’s over. What was worse than her using an overused phrase, was Brynn telling Jessel that it had been Jenna who called her a basic bitch. Using the receipt blessing that’s a flashback, we saw that while Brynn tried to get Jenna to call Jessel a basic bitch, Jenna’s conclusion was that Jessel was not basic. Thus the pot stirring begins.

This was a surprisingly fun episode… at the end. At first, it seemed like business as usual. Erin told Brynn (might as well tell the world) and Jessel that Rebecca was pregnant. While it would be a no-no in itself to make that announcement for someone else, Erin let them in on the fact that Rebecca had a wild night and wasn’t sure who the father was. As you’d expect, a game of telephone ensued.

For whatever idiotic reason, the women engaged in a game of dodgeball. Apparently, there’s a dodgeball court or whatever at Chelsea Piers which is news to me. Isn’t the rise of pickleball enough? At least you don’t get whacked in the head while playing pickleball.

Jenna quietly told Rebecca that she needed to watch out about what people were saying and indicated with a look that Erin had let the cat out of the bag. Rebecca got all pissed at Erin and said she was out. She got up and Erin followed, but at the door, Erin said, that was good, and they laughed. And here Bryn thought Rebecca was NVA – no value added. Guess again.

On Watch What Happens Live, Jeff Lewis said he didn’t like a prank. I usually don’t either, but when it teaches someone a lesson, I’m all in. Brava, ladies.

Ugh. I can’t with this girl.

In a surprise twist, Erin actually is pregnant.

In related news. I didn’t think the two were mutually exclusive.

👀 Last Weekend’s Watching…

I don’t care what anyone says, I love Martha Stewart. I get Martha. I would work for Martha, and she could yell at me all she wants. It’s nothing personal. It’s just her personality and background. I can be a bit of drill sergeant myself when I want to get things done, and I totally see where she’s coming from. Most of all, I admire Martha, the first woman billionaire, now being called the first influencer, and rightly so. There’s nothing I love more than pouring through her magazines and imagining the perfect dinner parties I will never give and the perfect crafts I will never make, except in my head. Maybe I wouldn’t go so far as to call it a good thing, but it’s okay. And it’s not to say I haven’t used an idea or two. Hey, I made Julia Child’s meatloaf recipe once.

The Netflix documentary Martha is well worth watching, even if only to see Martha’s amazing property and gardens, but her story is one of remarkable perseverance. After steadfastly working to invent an empire, she had to reinvent herself after, IMO, being railroaded into a prison sentence she shouldn’t have been serving in the first place. Remembering FBI Agent Cates on GH, it wasn’t hard to believe the FBI would resent a woman in her postilion and want to put her in her place, making an example out of her. But if anyone can literally make lemonade out of jail time, she did, seeing where she could better other women’s lives while she was there and coming out of it a better person. And not in a Teresa Giudice bogus namaste way. Martha put on that poncho and grabbed the world by the tail a second time. I felt both encouraged and a little distressed that I haven’t accomplished more in life.

Martha wasn’t as thrilled as I was, but I’m sure it’s a different perspective when it’s you. I didn’t see her as old and lonely at all. As a matter of fact, I thought, damn. I hope I can do all she can when I’m her age. If I make it.

Although I went through a phase of reading/watching a lot of true crime, Woman of the Hour was not a story I was familiar with. It’s a wildly successful directorial debut for Anna Kendrick, and Daniel Zovatto is creepy AF as the serial killer. It’s also a cautionary tale. It reminded me of when I saw Bo Dietl on a talk show once. He said, if we remembered nothing else from his safety tips, remember never go to crime scene number two. This advice also goes for meeting a stranger. Never go to another location with someone you don’t know. And if you read nothing else, read the safety tips below. They’re not just for women either. We live in a weird and wild world.

November 11, 2024 – Michael Gets Another Surprise, Family Style Falls Flat On Deck, Happy Veterans Day, Animals Of War & Soldier

Standard

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

Jason goes to Anna’s office, and she says, he had quite a night. The explosion created a mess. She doesn’t suppose he’ll help clean it up.

There’s a knock at the gatehouse door, and Willow opens it to Drew. She says, he can’t be here. Michael is upstairs. Creeper Drew says he knows that’s not true because he waited for Michael to leave, but she says, that doesn’t change anything. He shouldn’t be here. He says he has to be, for both their sakes.

Michael tells Sonny that he feels bad for Dante, and Sonny says, it’s a tough time, but he’ll get through it. Is there something else on Michael’s mind? Michael says, his marriage.

Felicia finds Sasha in a hospital examining room, and Sasha says she hurt her shoulder. Felicia asks if the injury happened at work, but Sasha says she was kidnapped and almost killed in an explosion. Felicia asks, what happened? and Sasha says, her mother happened.

Holly goes to Jack’s office, and he asks if the family reunion is over already, but she says, that’s none of his business. He says, noted, but here she is again. Why is that? She says she’s here to get what she’s owed.

Mac says he needs to talk to Robert. What kind of mess has Holly pulled him into? Robert says, before they go any further, is Mac here as a member of the family or an officer of the PCPD?

We see a car has crashed at the side of the road. Natalia is on the phone saying, there was a near collision. She’s not hurt, but she’s checking on the other driver. The car door opens, and it’s Kristina. Natalia asks if she’s okay.

Diane finds Alexis at their new office and says she’s so sorry. She hugs Alexis and sits down. Alexis points out that Diane isn’t saying anything about her being here, but she’s sure Diane has an opinion. Diane says, Alexis knows her well. She always has an opinion about everything, but she doesn’t need to volunteer one now. She doesn’t think Alexis wants or needs to hear her thoughts. Knowing Alexis like she does, she knows her new partner and best friend needs to lose herself in work. Have at it. Alexis thanks her, and Diane gives Alexis a sad smile.

Natalia tells Kristina that she’s on the phone with 911, and she’ll get an ambulance, but Kristina says she’s fine. Natalia tells the dispatcher that they don’t need an ambulance. They’re good. Kristina says she’s just shaken up. It happened so fast. Natalia says, it’s okay. Accidents happen. Neither one of them was hurt. Kristina says she didn’t mean to swerve into Natalia’s lane, but she was distracted, and Natalia says, it’s nothing insurance can’t handle. Kristina says, if only insurance could fix her life the way they fix cars, and Natalia says she heard about Kristina’s sister. Kristina says, Sam was more than a sister. Sam was her best friend, and Kristina doesn’t know what she’s going to do without her.

Drew says he thinks this is hers, and hands Willow the earring. She asks where he found it, and he says, in the nursery. She thanks him, and he says he didn’t want her to have to make up a lie. She says, there are already too many of those, and he says he’s sorry. She blushes when she lies and gives herself away. That’s how he knew the real reason she was leaving the Institute was to put distance between them. She says she was right. They agreed they’d made a mistake. He says he’s just grateful they can be friends, and Willow says she’s glad she was there when he needed someone, but she wants him to keep his distance. He says, she’s blushing.

Anna says she doesn’t know the details about Sasha’s kidnapping, but knows that Sidwell was here to get his diamonds. She doesn’t know the extent of Jason’s involvement or how long he’s been partners with Holly. Did they plan it when they came back or did they cook up the scheme while they were in Africa? Jason says he doesn’t know what she’s talking about, and Anna asks how long he’s been lying to her.

Sonny asks, what’s going on? and Michael says, at the beginning, his and Willow’s relationship with good and easy. He thought it would stay that way, but now he’s worried he was wrong. Sonny says, marriage isn’t perfect, and Michael says he expected problems, but he thought they were a team and in this together. Somehow, they got off track. He thought they’d always be honest, but now he’s wondering if it was too much to ask for. Sony says, for Willow? and Michael says, yes, but for himself too. He’s afraid what he thought they had was just an illusion and it’s all going to fall apart. Sonny says, they’ll have problems, but they’ll get through them, and Michael says, it’s not that simple. Sonny’s phone rings, and it’s Natalia. She says she’s with Kristina and he needs to get here. Kristina is in trouble.

Jason says he’s not lying, and Anna says, he’s holding things back. He says he can’t help her here, but she says, he won’t. He could, but he’s choosing not to. They have an international criminal on the loose. She doesn’t need to explain how dangerous Sidwell is. He says he has no idea where Sidwell is, and starts to leave, but Anna says, they’re not finished. Not by a long shot.

Felicia says she understands why Sasha and Holly have a contentious relationship. She can see why it’s not easy to forgive Holly. Sasha says she doesn’t owe Holly anything, and Felicia says she’s known Holly a long time. She’s aware of the damage Holly has caused and the long list of people she’s hurt. She’s not excusing Holly, but the only reason they’ve been friends for so long is that she’s like family. Robert is family, which makes Sasha family too. It may take time for Sasha to think of them as family, but they’re all Scorpios, and the Scorpios always show up for each other. Sasha says, Maxie told her the same thing, and Felicia says, she’s a smart woman. What role did Holly play in Sasha’s kidnapping? Sasha says, it’s a long story, and Felicia says, with Holly, it usually is.

Mac says he’s here as Robert’s brother and a cop. He’s seen the aftermath of Holly’s disasters and wants to know how she’s responsible for Sasha’s kidnapping, but Robert says, no comment. Mac says, where Holly goes, trouble seems to follow, and Robert makes up excuses for her. Robert asks, who Mac is to judge? and Mac asks why Holly gets an endless supply of get-out-of-jail-free cards. Robert asks how Mac was able to forgive Felicia for all the times she left him.

Jack says he used a lot of money and resources to save Holly’s life and helped rescue her daughter. Some folks would say she owed him. She says she owes a vast amount of money to the syndicate from when she was freelancing for his bosses. Perhaps they should revisit who owes who. She has no way to pay her debt without the diamonds, will most certainly be killed, and the WSB is responsible.

Kristina tells Natalia that she was visiting Adela’s grave. It made her feel closer to Adela somehow. When she was there, she realized that soon, she’d be visiting Sam. She lost her sister and her baby. Natalia says, it’s a lot of loss in a short time, and Kristina says, she was at the grave thinking how she’ll never see them again, ever. It started to hit her hard and she had to get out. She’s realizing that so much of the good in her life is now gone.

Kristina thanks Natalia for being great, and Natalia asks her to promise not to get behind the wheel like that again. Kristina asks Natalia to do her a favor and not tell her mom, but Natalia says, if it was Allie, she’d want to know. Kristina says, of course (🍷). Usually, she’d call her mother in a situation like this, but she’s got a lot going on. Natalia agrees and says she did call Kristina’s dad. As a mom, she’ll never not worry about Allison. It’s part of being a parent. Kristina says she’ll never know how that feels, and Natalia says she’s sorry. Kristina says, it’s all right, but suggests they talk about something else. How’s Allie? Has she called Natalia back? Natalia says, no, but she’ll keep trying. She’s seen clips online and the tour looks great. She’s happy for Allie living her dream even if she can’t be part of it. Kristina says, Allie was hurt, but she loves Natalia and will never stop loving her. Natalia says she regrets so much about how she treated Allie. Maybe that’s why she admires the close relationship Kristina and Alexis have. Kristina says, her mom loves her unconditionally, even though she doesn’t make it easy for Alexis.

Alexis thanks Diane for not asking well-intentioned, but absurd questions like, how are you? She has no idea how to go on living. She couldn’t save Sam. She watched Sam die and there was nothing she could do. It was out of her control. Diane says she can’t imagine how awful it was, and Alexis says, being helpless is unbearable to her. That’s why she became a lawyer. In the courtroom, she feels in control. She knows the law and how to use it. It makes sense, unlike her life, which is literally in shambles. She doesn’t know how to deal with it. Her daughter died and she can’t help the ones left behind. She doesn’t know how.

Mac says, Felicia broke his heart a number of times. He thought she’d end up with Frisco. Robert says, she didn’t and they’re happy, and Mac says, it took a long time to get where they are. He never thought he’d forgive her. Robert says, but he did.

Felicia admits that it’s hard to see the good in Holly, and Sasha says, that’s because it doesn’t exist, but Felicia says, Holly is capable of great love, even though it feels like she’s not. There’s a lot to her that Sasha doesn’t know. Sasha says, Holly was never there when she needed her, and Felicia says she’s sorry. When Holly lost Robert, she changed. Her heart was broken. She found the love of her life and then he was gone. Maybe that’s why Holly gave Sasha to her grandmother. Sasha was a reminder of what she’d lost.

Willow says she doesn’t know whether to be angry or flattered. She knows he didn’t come just to give her the earring. He asks how she can be sure, and she says, he has a tell too. He doesn’t blink. He says he came to check on her. They haven’t really had a chance to talk. Willow says she thought they were on the same page, and he says, they made a mistake that can’t happen again. He just came because she’s a good friend and he wanted to make sure she was okay. She says she’s fine, but she doesn’t think it’s a good idea for them to be friends anymore. He says he doesn’t want to make it harder. He’ll do what she wants. She says she wants to want stop lying to Michael, but that’s the one thing she can’t do.

Kristina tells Natalia that Sam was the strong one. She was fearless. Natalia says, it sounds like Kristina is describing herself, but Kristina says, no. Natalia says, she’s been knocked down and had more grief and loss than most people could handle. But she’s out in the world fighting and not hiding. She has so much heart and she’s brave. Natalia saw that courage when Kristina stood up for Allie when Allie couldn’t stand up for herself. She just can’t see it. Kristina says, when Natalia talks, she can almost believe it, and Natalia says, here’s someone else who believes it. Sonny joins them and hugs Kristina. He asks if she’s okay, and she says, yeah.

Alexis tells Diane, Danny and Scout are inconsolable. Dante is in a daze. He’s lost without Sam. They all are, and she can’t help them like Sam. Diane says, what happened isn’t her fault, but Alexis says she’s Sam’s mother. It’s her job to protect her children and she was unable to. She was there when it happened, and there was nothing she could do to stop it. Diane says, Alexis puts everything she has into taking care of the people she loves. She has to take care of herself, or there won’t be anything left for the people who are depending on her help.

Mac tells Robert that he realized he had two choices. He could stay self-righteous and be lonely, and not take Felicia back. Or he could forgive her and live the rest of his life with Felicia by his side. Robert says, then Mac should understand the position he’s in and how he feels about Holly.

Felicia tells Sasha that she’s known Holly for decades. She admits Holly is complicated and flawed, but she has no doubt Holly loves Sasha very much. Sasha has a right to her anger, but she fears if Sasha holds onto it, it’s only stopping her from forming a relationship with her mother. Sasha says she doesn’t know as she wants one, and Felicia says, Sasha doesn’t want to look back and regret losing out on the opportunity. She was out of her girls’ lives for a long time. Sasha says, Maxie told her, and Felicia says, Maxie was gracious enough to forgive her, but Georgie never did. She can’t make amends and will always regret it. Please give her mother a second chance before it’s too late.

Holly tells Jack that she needs the diamonds to pay off the syndicate and have enough to provide for her daughter. Jack says he doesn’t think she’s being completely altruistic, and she asks if anyone is in their line of work. He says, point taken, and she says she wanted to retire. Now she just wants the WSB to pay her debt. She knows they’re capable of it. She owes them for saving her daughter and she’s in their debt. She hopes that next time they need someone with her talents, she’s still alive to help. Jack says, there is one thing she can do.

Anna says she thought they were friends, and Jason says, they are. Anna wonders if all his friendships are this evasive, and he asks what she wants. She says, honesty would be nice, but he says he doesn’t expect her to share everything she does at the PCPD. She says she can’t, and he asks, then why are her expectations of him different?

Willow says, Michael gave her a second chance after he found out about her and Drew’s kiss. If he found out… Drew says, he won’t. He came to check on her, nothing more. He hates that it’s tearing her apart and hates that he lost a friend. She says she’s sorry. She knows he’s having a hard time. How’s Scout? He says, she’s not sleeping and when she does, she wakes up calling for Sam. He’s doing what he can to be the father she can count on. Willow says she wishes she could help, and he says, she was there at the worst time when he had nobody else to turn to.

Robert tells Mac that he has a new daughter who he’s slowly getting to know, and Holly is still in town. Everything is right in his world. Mac asks how it’s going with Sasha, and Robert says, slow, but in the right direction. Mac says he’ll cut to the chase. Are Robert and Holly back together, and if so, where does that leave Diane?

Sasha calls the MetroCourt and asks for Holly, but she’s told that Holly checked out a few hours ago.

Jack tells Holly that he has a one-way pass to Lisbon. There’s a WSB plane headed there tonight. Be on it. He’ll let them know when to expect her. She says, until next time, and he says he hopes she remembers that she owes him, and she says, and the WSB always collects.

Anna says she’s probably sounding like John Cates, but Jason says, not at all. He’s sorry she’s in a tough spot and wishes he could help. She asks if this is how it’s going to be for them going forward, a friendship rife with secrets. He says he prefers to see it as a friendship with lines neither one of them can cross. She says his loyalty to Sonny comes above everything and everyone else. She would value his help in finding Valentin. He says, she has it, and she says, he’s free to go. For the record, she’s sorry if their friendship had to end. He leaves.

At the penthouse, Sonny asks Kristina to tell him what happened, and she says she was listening to a song in the car and realized it was a song from the playlist Sam made for her for when she got out of the hospital. It was all happy songs. Sam wanted to lift her spirits. That was Sam, thoughtful. When she realized what it was, she got emotional. She started crying and swerved into Natalia’s lane. She thought since they were both okay, they’d be able to handle it quietly. Can he not tell mom?

Jason goes to Jack’s office and asks if Jack knows where Sidwell is. Jack says, he’s no longer a threat to Port Charles, and Jason says, that’s not an answer. Jack says, it’s the only answer he’s going to get. There’s something else he wants to make clear. The WSB has no idea where Valentin is and they don’t want to know. Jason asks, why tell him? and Jack says he knows Anna holds Jason in high regard. Don’t help her find Valentin. It won’t end well if she does.

Holly walks into Anna’s office, and Anna asks if she’s here to confess to one of her many crimes. Holly says, she’s adorable. Never change. She needs Anna’s help.

Robert says, the last thing he wants is to hurt Diane. She’s amazing and easy to be with. Mac says, not like Holly, and Robert says, no. Learning they have a daughter makes it clearer. There’s the inevitable heat and he dances his way back to her. Mac says, if Holly lying to him for all these years hasn’t changed Robert’s mind, he can’t. What’s next? He doubts Holly will agree to settle down in Port Charles. Robert says he’s not sure, but before he thinks about that, he has to be honest with Diane. (Robert’s an idiot.)

Diane says, Alexis is one of the strongest people she’s ever known, and she will get through this. She wishes she could help. Alexis says, Diane being here with her helps. Here, there’s nothing about the part of her life with Sam. At home, Sam is everywhere. Here, she can throw herself into her work and pretend everything is normal. Here, she’s a lawyer working on a brief. Diane says she’s glad to give Alexis some peace, and they talk legal precedents. Diane brings one up that Alexis hadn’t thought of, and Diane says, that’s why her name is first on the letterhead. She brings a book over to Alexis, who takes her arm. Glancing across the desk, Alexis sees a folder that says, Samantha McCall’s Last Will and Testament.

Sonny tells Kristina that he won’t say anything. Alexis is going through enough, but he thinks Kristina should her. Kristina says her mom is going through a lot. She doesn’t want to worry her. He says, they should be together and not hiding from each other. If she leans on her mother, she’ll never regret it. Kristina says she’ll think about it. She had an unexpected talk with Natalia after the accident. Natalia was telling her how strong she thinks she is. It was nice to hear. Sonny says he tells her that all the time, but she says, he’s her dad. He tells her that he wouldn’t say it if he didn’t mean it. She wears her heart on her sleeve. She takes whatever challenge comes and she’s one of the bravest people he knows. He wants her to know that she doesn’t have to be strong all the time. She should allow herself to grieve and mourn the losses she’s had. She says she’s afraid if she starts, she won’t stop, and he says, it’s okay. She doesn’t have to be alone. He’ll be there whenever and wherever she needs. No questions asked. She thanks him and takes his hand. She says she loves him. She doesn’t know what she’d do without him. He says he loves her too and she’s never going to have to find out.

Creeper Drew touches Willow’s hair and says, that night in the nursery, he got a glimpse of a different life where they would have been together. He thinks they would have been happy. She puts her palm against his cheek and says, this is not that life. Outside, Michael looks through the window and turns away. He takes out his phone and calls Diane. She asks what she can do for him, and he says he’d like to set up a meeting. He wants to talk to a lawyer about his marriage.

The doctor says, Sasha is bruised, but she doesn’t think anything is broken. She wants to take an x-ray to be on the safe side and asks if there’s any chance Sasha could be pregnant. Sasha says, no, but flashes back to getting busy with Michael. She says she thinks she’ll skip the x-ray.

Tomorrow, Laura tells Lulu that they can’t let Sam’s gift be given in vain; Diane is about to make it a whole lot easier on Robert; and Danny asks to live with Jason.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht

Gary legit makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I just don’t see the attraction. In his interview, he says he looks at Danni in a little sister type of way, and a producer asks why he kissed her. He says, alcohol is a factor. He’d like to say he learns from his mistakes, but Gary’s Gary. He can’t help it. Ugh. In Danni’s interview, she says she’s lonely. She’s made moves from the moment they met and she’s retiring. Gary calls himself an idiot. He’s not wrong. Everyone stumbles out in the morning, and in her interview, Danni says she’s keeping quiet about this one. The deck is somewhat of a mess from the night before, and Emma says, the hot tub is green, and they used bubbles. Just what you want to see when you have a hangover, I’m sure. Keith tells her that Danni doesn’t think he’s making an effort, and in his interview, he says, working with someone you’re dating is a huge challenge, but he wants to enjoy being young. You should take risks and throw yourself into the unknown once in a while and see what happens. Cloyce opens his eyes, and tells Gary, this light is harsh, bro. Gary wonders how Danni looks fresh as a daisy, and Danni says, it’s what she does. Daisy tells the stews to be a team and help each other. In Daisy’s interview, she says she feels like she’s dealing with teenagers. The crew cleans up the boat, and Captain Glenn calls for the preference sheet meeting.

The captain says there are eight guests and the charter is short, Primary Andrew is CEO of a dental group, and they want to bask in the sun and go sailing. His wife Cecilia is also a dentist, and the rest of the guests are all dentists, with the exception of one realtor. Cloyce reads that there are no dietary restrictions, and Daisy says, they want a seafood bash dinner and a blue and white party. Cloyce says, everyone wants Caesar salad, and in his interview, he says, a hangover is so unfortunate, but they’re in Ibiza and they’re young, single men. As they say, YOLO. (Do they still say that?) The preference sheets aren’t too alarming. He thinks it will be as smooth and sexy as he wants it to be. Gary wants Emma to clean the side of the boat, but she insists she can’t reach it. In her interview, she says she’s clumsy and doesn’t trust herself to reach over the boat. She gets Keith to do it and Captain Glenn tells the crew that guest arrival is in 90 minutes.

The guests arrive, and in Davide’s interview, he says, his sister’s boyfriend is a dentist. He’d have these MILF dentists work on his teeth any day. He tells production not to use that. Like that’s going to happen. Champagne is served, Daisy gives the tour, and the Parsefal shoves off.

Anchor is dropped at Cala Bassa, and Danni flirts with Gary. In Daisy’s interview, she wonders, what the f*** is going on?  Danni laughs about making Gary uncomfortable, and Gary tells Daisy that he and Danni had a sneaky kiss. Daisy says he needs to understand why his behavior is toxic to himself and the team. She thinks in the moment he doesn’t think. Once, maybe, but how many times has he done this? He’s looking for validation. Gary says, she’s crazy, and walks away. She calls him a d*ckhead, and in Gary’s interview, he says he’s embarrassed. Daisy says she’s being honest, and he says, she’s blowing it out of proportion. In his interview, he says, this backfired miserably. F***ing hell.

The sails go up, which always impresses the guests. Things start moving around, and Glenn says, Bob’s your uncle. Fanny’s your aunt. I only mention this because, WTF? Cloyce says his head hurts, and Glenn explains sailing to a guest, letting her take the wheel. Primary Andrew tells Daisy that guests Chris and Mary Catherine just got engaged and they’d like something special to celebrate. Daisy tells Cloyce, and in Cloyce’s interview, he says, when he doesn’t sleep, his mentality is at an all-time low. He goes to take a nap, and the sails come down. Gary wonders where Emma is all the time, and the water toys are set up. Danni tells Diana that she and Gary kissed. She’d do it again, but she won’t cry if it doesn’t happen. Diana says she thought Danni liked Keith, and in Diana’s interview, she says she’d like to be like Danni. Danni doesn’t care what people think and she wishes she was like that. Danni says she has sexual tension with everybody on the boat at this point.

Daisy tells the stews to set up the blue and white theme. The guests brush their teeth every five minutes. Daisy wonders what Cloyce is doing for the engagement, but he says he doesn’t know yet. Diana watches Danni flirt with Keith, and a guest approaches her with a stained dress. Diana takes it to the laundry to deal with it, but she’s not thrilled. She brings the dress back to the guest, and Danni grabs her, wanting Keith to take a photo of them. Diana poses with Danni, but expresses her displeasure at not getting help. Danni says she’s sorry. She’s the only one dealing with the décor, and she can’t run up and down. They argue about being busy.

Cloyce says he’s serving the seafood family style, but Daisy thinks it should be plated. It shows the presentation more. In Daisy’s interview, she says, an engagement dinner should 1000% be plated. She can give Cloyce her opinion, but if he doesn’t listen, it’s on him. Danni asks if she and Diana are going to fight the whole night, but Diana says she’s not fighting. Gary says, Daisy looks like she’s in a foul mood, and in Diana’s interview, she says, if Danni is going to be a bitch, she can be a bitch as well. The blue and white theme looks really pretty, with disco relic silver streamers flying from the railing. Andrew toasts to MC and Chris, when Cloyce comes up with what he calls a play on Caesar salad. Everyone is confused as to what he means, since there’s no play going on and it’s just a Caesar salad. The seafood is served, and guest Cecilia says, she loves family style, but would have preferred a plated meal. Daisy says she’ll say something to the chef.

Danni tells Daisy that she’s afraid to help Diana. She mentioned she’d kissed Gary and Diana lost her sh*t. Daisy tells her to be the big person, and in Danni’s interview, she asks why it’s just her that has to be the bigger person. Why can’t Daisy tell her other stew to grow up? Daisy thinks it’s petty, and Danni helps Diana with the cabins. Captain Glenn asks the guests, how was dinner? and gets a massive amount of cricket chirping before someone says, delicious. They claim to be jet lagged, but as soon as the captain is gone, Cecilia says she wishes she’d had a fine dining plated meal.

Cloyce is taking forever with the dessert, and Gary apologizes to Daisy. She says he doesn’t know how to communicate, and his behavior is self-destructive and destructive to others. You don’t treat people like that, especially people in your corner. They high-five, then hug, and Daisy says, it’s time he grew up a little bit. Cloyce is having difficulty getting the icing to come out of the pumping bag and it’s now 16 minutes since the table was cleared. MC wants to go to bed, and Cloyce giggles in the galley. In Daisy’s interview, she wonders why he’s taking so long. Instead of a nap, he needs to be better organized. He doesn’t give a f***, but she has to go with it. Cloyce says, it’s not his best work, and MC says she’s falling asleep.

Ironically, during the break, we get a Sonicare commercial.

I’m not sure what this dessert is besides a mess, and it’s now 28 minutes after clearing. In Cloyce’s interview, he says, it’s definitely not his best work. He didn’t get enough sleep and had too much to drink. He’s never doing that again until next time. Daisy tells him that the guests were a bit disappointed that the meal wasn’t plated. She’s just passing along the feedback. Keith goes over cleaning the deck with Emma, and Emma tells Danni that she feels the deckhands are off with her or maybe she’s being oversensitive. I think this is just not the job for her. She seems like she’s not even focusing on what anyone is telling her. Some of the guests linger at the table and two of them start arguing over complaining. Irony!

Doing the night clean-up, Emma takes her time, has a smoke, and messes with her phone. She says she lost track of time, and at 7:30 am, she’s cleaning the deck. Keith tries to give her instruction, but I think it’s just going past her. She asks if he wants help with the swim platform, but then just stands there as he grunts and groans and deals with it by himself. In Keith’s interview, he says, she offered to help and she’s standing there doing nothing. He’s like, thanks a lot, and in Emma’s interview, she says she’s over his passive/ aggressive bullsh*t. She’s tired of being made to feel like a small person. I’m like, WTF? and in his interview, Keith says, it’s cruel to just stand there and watch him struggle. I don’t mean this in a bad way, but maybe she’s on the spectrum. Something definitely is not right here.

Andrew starts his day with still water and champagne, as we all would like to. Danni bugs Gary, who says he was thinking about their kiss. She says she had fun, but he says he doesn’t want it to happen again. Sorry. She asks why he’s apologizing, since I don’t think she cares a whole lot. Keith tells Gary that he and Emma had a bit of a tiff. She was pissed because he tried to give her advice. Emma tells Daisy that she’s over Keith’s passive/aggressive behavior, and Daisy says, if she treats people with hostility she’s going to get hostility back. Emma says she’s irritated that it’s becoming a thing.

Gary tells Keith that he’ll talk to Emma if he has a chance. They have to walk on eggshells and it’s a shame. In Cloyce’s interview, he says, for breakfast, he likes to make some kind of eggs, breakfast meat, and pastries. Usually, if he puts out those things, everyone is happy. In Daisy’s interview, she says, it’s screaming budget hotel, airport hotel, continental breakfast. Damn right. If I was paying superyacht prices, I’d better get some eggs-f***ing-benedict. Captain Glenn asks Daisy how it went last night, and she suggests they talk upstairs. She doesn’t think the guests were happy. Lunch was fine, but they were not happy last night. She could have gotten better from the local marina. It’s not superyacht quality and they were waiting. In the captain’s interview, he says, they’re not even halfway through the season, and Cloyce can’t be coasting. He should be putting out the best of his best. Daisy says she doesn’t think he knows time management and he’s lazy. Captain Glenn wonders if the three of them should sit down and talk, and Daisy says, she’s going to talk to him today.

Last day of charter. The boat heads for Igy Marina, and Diana asks Keith what happened with Danni. He says, she likes to chat with people and wants to flirt all the time, but when they’re working, it’s not cool. They should go for it if there’s a connection, but he’s not sure if she’s just being fun and flirty. Diana says she takes it back. She doesn’t think it’s different with Keith. She thinks everyone is the same to Danni. She’s pretty sure Danni kissed Gary. Keith says, that’s annoying, and in his interview, he says, that’s not meeting halfway, and it seems deliberate. It’s a bit of a gut punch. On her way upstairs, Diana says, oops. Oops indeed.

In the crew mess, Daisy tells Cloyce that she’s not a chef, but she’s been in the industry a while. Things are often last minute, and she thinks the dinner wasn’t what the guests were expecting. It can affect the tip. He asks if she thinks they want something more elaborate, and she says, it should be the most beautiful plate. He’s worked on big boats. He says, some things are inherently rustic, and she says she understands that. She’s just giving him some advice from her experience. He says, everybody is different, and she says, it’s not her first rodeo. She’s trying to help him. In Cloyce’s interview, he says never in his history of charter experience has anyone questioned his capability in the galley. He doesn’t have to prove anything to anyone. In Daisy’s interview, she says, he’s not getting it, and she tells him that she thinks he needs better time management. He can take help from her eleven years’ experience, or maybe in his two years, he’s done better. He says, well, yeah.

Next time, Keith confronts Gary about Danni; Gary tries to talk to Emma about her work ethic; and a boat is way to close, so Gary has to wake Captain Glenn.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

On the phone, Anna says she asked Jack to keep her informed, so if he insists on avoiding her phone calls, she’ll be forced to come down to his fancy, high-tech office to get answers. She did agree to deniability. She didn’t agree to a full-on information blackout. So if he’s going to take action to bring Sasha back, he’s going to have to give her a heads up, yeah? Thank you. Ric walks in and asks if it’s a bad time.

Olivia answers the door and it’s Alexis. She says, me again, and Olivia hugs her. Alexis says she told Scout that she would come back and say goodnight to her, and Olivia says, of course (🍷). She knows where Scout’s room is, right? Alexis thanks her and goes upstairs.

Brook finds Dante on the patio and asks if he’s all right. He’s been out here for a while. He says he came out to clear his head a little bit, but she says, he could do that inside where there’s heat. He says he’s all right, but she asks if he’s not a little cold. Dante says, honestly, he doesn’t know what he is right now.

Tracy walks into the stables, where Cody is shoveling hay. She says she has a house full of hungry children who are being forced to subsist on stale crackers and boxed beverages, and he says he has some leftover pizza in the fridge upstairs, but he doubts it’s enough for the army she keeps at the house. She says, just point her in the direction of his irresponsible and unreliable girlfriend, and he says, Sasha? She says, who else? She was willing to keep an open mind and give her a second chance, but this is how Sasha repays her, by disappearing. He says, if Sasha took off, he’s sorry, but he’s the last person she would tell.

Holly wonders why there’s not any news yet. Chief Brennan and Jason left ages ago. Robert says, these operations take time, and she says, it’s been 24 hours since Jenz abducted Sasha. If he’s touched a single hair on her head… He says, knowing Brennan and Jason Morgan, there’s not going to be anything left of this guy to kick. She says she’s going to get some air, but he asks her to stay with him. Relax. She says, that’s not going to happen no matter what she does, and he says, then be all twirly up beside him. Stay. She asks, why? So he can make sure she doesn’t do something to make things worse? Tell her the truth. Is that what she is to him? A problem?

In a warehouse stairwell, Jack radios for his men to hold their position. Nobody move without my go.

Jason walks into the warehouse, and Sidwell says he told Holly to bring them herself. Jason says, Sidwell wanted the diamonds, so here he is, and Sidwell says, apparently, Sasha was right. Her mother really doesn’t care if she lives or dies. He’s just sorry he won’t see Holly’s lovely face when she finds out her daughter’s dead.

Alexis tells Olivia, Scout was fast asleep. She envies her. Olivia asks if she can get Alexis anything, but Alexis says, no. Please thank Monica for letting the kids stay here. Olivia says, she’s their grandmother. This is their house too. Alexis too. If she wants to stick around close by… Alexis says, if she’s going to stay up all night, it’s best that she does it in her own bed, and Olivia says, just know that the door is always open. There’s a lot of beds in this place. Alexis says she thinks that Scout and Danny should live with her. She knows that Scout’s father lives here, but if he gets elected, he’ll live in Washington DC a good deal of the time. Olivia says she guesses that’s probably true, and Alexis says she’s not sure Jason is prepared to raise a teenager. Olivia says, who is? But she thought things between Jason and Danny were good. Alexis says, Sam was worried about Jason’s influence on Danny, and Olivia says, right. She thought Dante said things were good on the Sam and Jason front. Alexis says she doesn’t think Sam would want Jason to raise Danny alone, and Olivia says she sees Alexis’s point. Alexis says, so she thinks the sooner they stabilize them at her place, it will be best for them.

Brook thanks Dante for taking pity on her and coming inside. Does he want something to eat? He says, they just had dinner, and she says, they had dinner, but he didn’t eat anything. He says, with everything going on in this house, how does she know what he’s doing? and she says she knows his secrets. He forgets, when they were kids, he taught her to hide the peas under the mashed potatoes. He says, sometimes he forgets how long they’ve known each other, and she says her too, but she can still tell when he’s hiding his feelings. He asks if she wants him to fall apart in front of the kids, and she says, good thing there are no kids around right now. Tell her, what is he thinking and feeling? He says he’s thinking he doesn’t know how he’s going to take care of their family on his own without Sam.

Tracy says, Cody hasn’t heard from Sasha? and he says, nope, and he doesn’t expect to. She says, what did he do? (ha-ha! again someone assumes it must be him) and he says, for once, he didn’t mess anything up. Turns out he and Sasha are cousins. First cousins. Tracy laughs and says, how? He says, Sasha just found out that Robert Scorpio’s her father, and she says, Robert? Wow… wow. She guesses she can still be surprised. So if Robert’s her father, who’s her… He says, Holly Sutton, and she says, wow. That’s not surprising. Disturbing, but not surprising. Did Holly raise Sasha? Cody says, no. Sasha’s grandmother did, but Holly was around. She says, as upsetting as this is, consider himself lucky that he dodged a bullet.

Anna tells Ric, it’s late. She’s busy. He says, this won’t take long. Ava Jerome’s trial is coming up soon. Despite recent tragic events, he still has a duty to defend his client to the best of his ability. She says, then why is he here speaking to her instead of anywhere else talking to his client? He says, it seems Ava’s arrest is based solely on some photographs from unknown origin that were taken at the time of Kristina’s accident. And basic rules of discovery require the state to provide the defense with all known evidence. She says, he should have been provided with copies of those photos. She can check with the DA’s office. He says he has his copies. What he wants to know is, where did she get them?

Holly says she should have taken those diamonds to Sidwell herself. That’s what he wanted. Robert says, Sidwell’s demand that she bring him those diamonds was a trap, but she says, they don’t know that. He says, they’re going to find out, and she says she thought he didn’t trust Jack Brennan. He says he and Jack have had their differences over the years, but he’s always known Jack to be a good man to have on your side. She asks if he’s on Sasha’s side, and he says, as is Jason Morgan. She says, so many things can go wrong, and he says, as difficult as this is, they have to trust that Brennan and Jason can bring Sasha back to them.

Sasha tries the door again, then looks around the room. She sees there’s a vent in the wall, and rifles through drawers until she finds a letter opener.

Jason says he has the diamonds. Does Sidwell want them or not? Sidwell says he should kill Jason now, and Jason says, he can try. Sidwell says, let him see them, and Jason tosses one to him, Sidwell catching it like he’s an MLB player. He looks at it and asks, where are the rest? Jason says, show him Sasha, and he’ll show Sidwell the diamonds. Where is she? Sidwell says, she’s close by, but she doesn’t have much time. So the rest of the diamonds – now.

Cody says he thought things were getting better between Tracy and Sasha, and Tracy says, they were. Then she found out Holly Sutton was Sasha’s mother. He says, Sasha’s not her mom, but she says, please. Whatever parent you don’t want to emulate, that’s the one you become most like. (Oh great.) Her mother was a wonderful woman. You know what she got? Her eyelashes. He says, they’re very nice, and she thanks him. She says, even if he and Sasha weren’t cousins, their relationship was doomed to fail, and he says, she doesn’t know Sasha like he does. She’s nothing like her parents. She says, that’s the nature versus nurture debate. Is someone born untrustworthy, or do they learn to be that way? He says, Tracy has admitted to some underhanded stuff in her life too, but she says she’s not marrying herself and she’s not suggesting anybody else does. He says he’s not going to let her make Sasha out to be the bad guy. Even if she did pull a few cons, that just makes her more perfect for him. Tracy laughs and asks how he can say that. He says, because he’s been conning people his whole life. There was a long time when his entire focus was seeing what he could get out of this world. She says, he’s not that person anymore, but he tells her that she wouldn’t say that if she knew what he pulled the other day.

Brook says, Dante doesn’t have to make any big decisions right now. And he and the kids can stay here as long as he likes. Everyone loves having them here, even Tracy. He laughs and says, now he knows she’s lying. It just doesn’t feel like they can be a family without Sam. She says, they already are a family. He just has to keep being the amazing dad he already is. He says, she didn’t turn out so bad herself, and she says, obviously, when Chase walks in. He tells Dante, if there’s anything he needs or wants… Dante thanks him, and Chase tells Brook that he’s sorry he missed dinner. He got hung up at the station. She says, he’s here now. That’s all that matters. He asks if there are any leftovers, and she says, lots. She’ll make him a plate. They leave as Dante sadly watches.

Alexis asks if Dante has said anything about where he and Rocco are going to live, and Olivia says she thinks right now, he’s just trying to put one foot in front of the other. He loved Sam so much. Alexis says, she loved him right back, and Olivia says, she loved Rocco as her own. It’s not always that way. You hear stories. They never referred to themselves as a blended family. They were just a family. Alexis says, Sam was her wild child. She certainly never expected Sam to settle down with a family and be the anchor in it. Olivia starts to cry and says she can’t believe Sam’s gone, and Alexis says, what they say about how mothers aren’t supposed to outlive their children is true.

Ric says, Anna’s name was listed as the officer that logged the photos into evidence. That means she was the one to receive them. She says, that’s true, and he says, great. So where did she get them? She tells him, as she said in her statement, during the course of their preliminary investigation, the photos were brought to her attention depicting a physical altercation between Ava Jerome and Kristina Corinthos-Davis. He says he read it. It’s a terrific statement, by the way. She thanks him, and he says, what he wants to know is, who took those incredibly convenient photos? She says, it’s interesting he thinks they were convenient. They do make his client look rather guilty. He says, the providence of those photos matters and is at best dubious. It’s just one more example of the PCPD’s mishandling of Ava Jerome’s case and another reason her case should be thrown out.

Jack asks if there’s any movement in the rear of the building, and jets down a staircase.

Jason says he’ll hand over the diamonds after he gets proof of life, and Sidwell says, fine. He shows Jason his phone and we see Sasha messing with the vent. Sidwell says, you really do have to admire someone who doesn’t just wait for fate to fall in their lap. It’s really to bad she won’t have enough time to get out. Jason says, where is she? and Sidwell says, somewhere on the five floors. There are 30 offices in this building. Give him the diamonds; avoid the scavenger hunt. Jason says he’s good at finding things, but Sidwell says he’s not sure Jason will have time to disarm the bomb in the room with her before, boom! It goes off. Once he sets the timer, Sasha only has five minutes to live. He really does find a timer increases efficiency and cooperation. He sets the timer, shows Jason his phone, and says, your move, Mr. Morgan.

Sasha hears the beeping and starts looking around.

Jason hands Sidwell the diamonds, and says, where is she? Sidwell says, room 533, and Jason takes off. Sidwell calls, good luck. He’ll have to be very good at finding things.

Sasha opens a cupboard in the desk and sees the bomb.

Tracy asks what horrible thing Cody has done, and he says he agreed to keep quiet about what a sleaze Drew is. She asks why he’d do that, and he says, because Drew paid him $50,000. She says, he’s a politician. He paid for Cody’s silence. Cody says, Drew paid him to keep something quiet he doesn’t want the voters to know, and she says, that he made out with Willow and was banging her mom? He says, how…? and she says, the whole family knows. They actually paid someone to make sure the bar incident doesn’t go viral. He says, so they know he punched Drew, and she says, he needs to be much smarter going forward. He says he knows he shouldn’t have gotten drunk and he shouldn’t have gone after Drew, but she says, no. He should have held out for $100,000. (A woman after my own heart, but he should have held out for $6 million.)

Chase asks, how’s Rocco doing? and Dante says, he’s quiet. He and Danny are just trying to support Scout. Brook says, it’s the best thing those kids can do. Draw strength from each other. Chase says, Rocco was just so happy when he saw them at the Surf Lodge. He seemed more excited about the engagement than Dante was. Brook says, Dante and Sam were engaged? and Dante says he asked her when she woke up from her surgery. Brook says she’s so sorry and hugs him, and Dante says he’s going to go check on Rocco, and leaves. Brook says she just managed to make a heartbreaking situation even worse, and Chase says, there’s no worse for Dante right now. She says, it just keeps getting sadder, and they hug.

Ric says, there were several grievous lapses in procedure leading up to Ava’s arrest, and Anna says, enlighten her. He says, for one, she was initially interviewed by Detective Dante Falconari, the brother of the alleged victim, and Anna says, correct. Detective Falconari was first on the scene and was unaware that the room from which Kristina fell was, in fact, Miss Jerome’s. Then when Miss Jerome was brought in for custody, Detective Chase took over the questioning. He says, there was no reason for them to hold Ava, but then Jason Morgan shows up and Ava gets arrested. She asks what he’s implying, cause and effect? but he says, no. He’s asking her flat out. Was Jason the one that provided her with the photos in question? She says, the photos were taken by a private investigator by the name of Demitri Putnam. Mr. Putnam was hired by Sonny Corinthos regarding an ongoing custody case involving his… He asks if Sonny gave her those pictures, but she says, no. Sonny was at GH finding out if his daughter was going to live or die. He says, so Jason was Sonny’s errand boy as per usual, and Anna says she thinks he’s using this case to stick it to Sonny, the brother he hates, as per usual. He says he doesn’t know of any other Police Commissioner who would believe a known criminal. For the life of him, he can’t think of one. She says, he might want to sleep on it or think about it somewhere else, and he says, the fact that she’s willing to believe Jason Morgan says one of two things. Either personal malice towards his client or incredible naïveté on her part. Which is it, Commissioner?

Jason runs through the building trying doors and yelling Sasha’s name. She says she’s here, and he says, get away from the door. She says, he’s clear, and he kicks it in. She runs past him and says, 47 seconds. He runs out behind her.

On the stairs, Jack says he needs an update, dammit.

Sasha and Jason tear through the building, and we see there’s about 5 seconds left.

Jack says, come on, when the building explodes. Jack is tossed back.

Brook says she’s sorry it’s been such a sad homecoming, but Chase says, it’s part of being together, through the good times and the bad. She says she missed him every second he was in Seattle. She doesn’t sleep well if he’s not next to her. His snoring soothes her. He says he does not snore, and she laughs. He says he hopes she knows how much he loves their life together, and he never wants her to think he’d take it or her for granted. She says she loves him too. She always knew how lucky they were, but now… He says he knows, and kisses her.

Tracy says, Cody knows that Drew owns Aurora and a boatload of ELQ stock, and he settled for $50,000, but he says he had no intention of going to the press. She says, he just thought it was important for the bar patrons to know, but not the general public, and he says he was drunk. She says, that much was clear, and he says he’d love to show the people what’s under that perfect politician’s smile Drew is always flashing around, but he doesn’t want to hurt Willow or Michael. They have kids. He’d never blow up a family. She says she wishes Drew felt the same way, and he says, Drew just waltzed in here. Drew didn’t even ask what he intended on doing. Drew just assumed he could be bought. She says she thinks Drew assumes most people can be bought and he’s not wrong. He says he found it insulting, and she says she thinks this situation proves Drew is a real Quartermaine.

Alexis hands Olivia Sam’s engagement ring and says she didn’t know if Olivia had a chance to see it. Through her tears, Olivia says, he came running over here just as soon as he bought it. He was so excited to share his big plans. It’s a beautiful ring. Alexis says, it really is, and Olivia says she knows it sounds crazy, but some part of her is happy that her son got to propose to the woman he loved more than anything and have her say yes. Alexis says, she was so happy… and Olivia says she hopes this doesn’t come out the wrong way, but she’s actually glad Alexis was there with Sam. Alexis wipes her tears away and says her too. Olivia hands the ring back to Alexis.

Anna says, if Ric is done haranguing her, he can leave, and he says, Robin is close to Jason Morgan and Sonny Corinthos. That’s not really a question. Everybody knows it. She says, since he doesn’t need her for this conversation, please have it somewhere else, and he says he thinks she’s too close to known criminals and as a result, she’s willing to bend the rules for them. She says, that’s quite an accusation. For the record – for his record anyway – she’s done nothing wrong. He says, so she’s willing to believe Jason Morgan wouldn’t lie to her. Okay. He guesses they’ve got their answer. Naïve it is. Her phone rings, and she tells him to see himself out. She answers and says, yes… Where?

On the phone, Robert says, what?… A bomb?… The warehouse blew up? Holly says, did Sasha get out? and Robert says, what about their daughter? Is she alive? Holly says she can’t stand this. She’s going to find Sasha. She dashes out, and Robert follows.

Brook tells Chase that things have been so crazy and sad, they’ve barely had a minute to themselves. She wants to hear about everything that happened in Seattle. Every detail, preferably the happy ones. Chase says, for starters, it was so good to see Finn acting like his old self again, and she says, Violet must have been so happy to be with him again. He says, as soon as they landed, she couldn’t stop smiling, and she says she knows Violet belongs with her dad, but she really, really misses her. He says, Brook was a great mom to her while she was here. Violet wanted him to give her a message. She asks if Violet forgot something, and he says, a two-page list, but that’s not the message. Violet wanted him to remind her that she still wants a cousin, and in her words, she doesn’t want to wait forever. She says, then they’d better take this thing seriously, and he says, they weren’t taking it seriously before? She says she means, if they want to have a baby, there are things they can do to make that happen (um… like having sex?), and he says, she means something like this? and kisses her.

Cody says, Tracy sounds like she’s proud of Drew for going after his nephew’s wife, but she says, not at all. It’s just that there’s a Quartermaine trait that all of the family men have in common. He says, they cheat? and she says, eventually, even her dearly beloved father. Of course (🍷) not Jason. Although he doesn’t remember the first twenty years of his life, so he’s not off the hook yet. Cody says, it’s a great family legacy she’s got there. He’s sure she could go on for hours at the club just bragging about it. She says she doesn’t have to. Everybody knows. But it’s the nature/nurture conversation again. Philandering is definitely in the family DNA, but Drew didn’t grow up in the family. But there you have it. His roots are finally starting to show.

Dante and Alexis hug and he says he didn’t know she was here. She says she came to say goodnight to Scout, and Olivia leaves to check on the kids. Dante says, Scout was sleeping pretty good, and Alexis says, Scout was sleeping when she checked on her too. He says he guesses grief is pretty exhausting, and she says, yep. She’s been trying to work on necessary funeral arrangements. She’s pretty sure he doesn’t want to… He says, whatever she decides is best. He sees the plastic bag with the ring in it and takes the ring out. She says she brought that over for him because she didn’t know if he wanted to keep it or have Sam wear it. He says, it feels like he bought this ages ago, and he flashes back to showing it to Olivia, who tells him, it’s beautiful, and hugs him. He tells Olivia, let’s hope Sam feels the same way.

Jack – who has miraculously survived even though we don’t know how – brings Sasha and Jason to his office and says, wait here. He leaves, and Jason asks if Sasha is okay. She says she thinks so. She’s still breathing. She thanks him for the rescue, and he says, sure. She asks how he got dragged into this. They barely know each other. He says, Carly was there when Sidwell grabbed her and he was in Africa with Holly. She asks if he knew Holly made off with Sidwell’s diamonds, but he says, not until a few days ago. She asks where the diamonds are now, and he says, with Sidwell. Her mom gave up the diamonds to save her.

Anna arrives at the warehouse, where firefighters are running around, and she asks Dex what they’ve got. He says he and his partner responded to reports of an explosion. When they arrived, no other parties were on the scene. She says, inside? and he says, it’s supposed to be vacant, but they won’t know until the fire is put out. She says, forensics? and he says, standing by. She asks if they talked to anyone, and he says, canvassing the area, they turned up some third shift workers. They heard the explosion, but they didn’t see anything. They did find this though. He shows her an evidence bag, and she says, it doesn’t prove anything, but she’s pretty sure of whose it is. (It’s unclear what’s in the bag.)

Jack brings Holly and Robert to his office, and Holly runs to Sasha, hugging her and saying, thank God. Is she okay? Sasha says she’s alive, and Holly says she’s never been more pleased to see her. Robert thanks Jason, and Jack says, no worries, mate. You’re welcome. Robert asks if Sidwell got out, but Jack says, they never saw him or the diamonds after the explosion. Robert says, he got away? and Jack says, looks like it. Robert asks Sasha if she’s okay. Should they call a doctor? Sasha says she’s fine. She’s sorry Sidwell got away. He says, she’s here. That’s all that matters. He moves awkwardly toward her, and she hugs him. She thanks him for saving her.

Brook says, there are things they can do to improve their chances, and Chase says, she’s not going to stand on her head after, but she says she’s not talking about that. She’s been doing some reading herself. There’s a system they can try, like tracking her cycle and taking her temperature. Maybe they can get one of those ovulation predictors. He says he’s willing to do whatever it takes, but he doesn’t want to lose them being spontaneous, and she says, never. He says, tonight, they’ll do it the old-fashioned way, and tomorrow, they’ll get her a calendar and everything she needs. She says, it’s a deal. However it happens, she can’t wait to make a baby with him. He says, that makes two of us.

Tracy asks where Cody’s ill-gotten gains are now, and he says, his checking account? She laughs and he says he never had enough money for a savings account. She says she’s going to teach him how to invest, and he says, cool. She says, and while he’s living on these grounds, he’s going to keep his eyes on Drew. And when he strays, which he will, they’ll be waiting. He says, the two of them? and she says, the two of them. They’re in this together now. He says, anything that involves bringing down Drew, count him in. (Me too!)

Alexis tells Dante that she doesn’t want to rush into things, but she wants to give the kids as much stability as she can. He says him too, and she says she knows he’s hurting, but she wants to talk to him about something. He says, okay, and she says she thinks Danny and Scout should live with her. She’s sorry. She doesn’t know if he had other plans. He says he just thought they’d all live together here. Just for the time being. She says, for now it’s good. It’s familiar and there are a lot of people around. It will keep them from feeling lonely and alone without their mom. He says he really thought they would grow old together, and she says, that was the way it was supposed to be. He says he can’t imagine his life without her, and they hug.

A firefighter tells Anna, no signs that anyone was in the building when it went up, and she asks him to let her know when they find the origin of the explosion. He says, will do, and she thanks him. She asks an officer to tell the bomb squad that she wants to know what kind of incendiary device was used. And find out who owns this warehouse. The officer leaves, and Anna tells Dex that she wants them to do another canvas of the area. There has to be an eyewitness out there and she wants him talking to them. Surveillance footage, do they have it. Streetcams, everything. She wants him to get it.

Sasha says she couldn’t leave the room, but Jason got in. He saved her. Holly says she’s not sure she can ever thank him enough, and he says he’s just glad it all worked out. His phone rings, and he steps out to take the call. Holly says, he just goes on and on, doesn’t he?

In the hallway, Jason says, yeah, and Anna says she’s at a crime scene, an explosion at a warehouse. Meet her in her office in twenty. She wants some answers.

Sasha asks if Holly really gave up the diamonds for her or were they fake? but Holly says, they were real. She wasn’t going to risk Jenz thinking he’d been tricked. Robert says, they were real. No question. Sasha says, why, mother? and Holly says, because like those diamonds, the love she feels for Sasha is real. And whether Sasha believes it or not, there’s nothing more important in this world to her than Sasha.

On Monday, Willow says she thought she and Drew were on the same page; Felicia tells Sasha to give her mother a second chance before it’s too late; Mac wants to know what Holly’s pulled Robert into; and Anna asks how long Jason has been lying to her.

🧂 A Dash Of Salt…

I’m so over these Housewives lawsuits.

💎 Clutching Their Diamonds…

The new season starts November 19th. A lot of Kyle angst in the trailer. I’m over that too.

https://www.justjared.com/2024/11/07/real-housewives-of-beverly-hills-trailer-teases-explosive-season-14-amid-3-cast-exits-plus-premiere-date-revealed/

Does DIRECTV still exist? Do you know anyone with DIRECTV? I had a neighbor who had it for like, five minutes, and didn’t recommend it. Although I came very close to signing up when they took on Passions after it’s CBS cancelation. I’m glad I didn’t because the show was gone in a matter of months.

I only included this because, LVP mention. It’s not all that interesting.

🐪 But I Came For the Camels…

I’m sorry to hear this. I thought these women were a little different than the Housewives norm. And I love Stanbury.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

Alexis looks through photos and flashes back to talking with Sam about her engagement. Sonny says he wishes he could do more for her aside from bringing her tea, and she asks how he went on after Morgan died. He says, it wasn’t easy. He kept living like she’s going to do for her kids and grandkids. She says she has to make arrangements. After that, she doesn’t know. She can do tasks and funerals require tasks, but afterward, people go back to their lives, and she can’t see that. He says, she’ll get there, but she says she doesn’t want to. She doesn’t want to picture a world without her daughter in it.

Brad says he saw what happened with Dr. Robinson, but Lucas says, nothing happened. Brad says he’s sorry, and Lucas thanks him, but says he can’t do this right now. Brad says, Lucas doesn’t have to hide being upset and stressed with him, but Lucas says he can’t. Brad says, can’t what? and Lucas says, face the possibility that he might be the reason his sister is dead.

Curtis asks if Portia had a bad day, and she says, the worst day. She’s dealing with it. He says, she never has to pretend with him, and hugs her.

Jack says he knows Carly couldn’t go to the police, but she’s not without resources. She has Sonny and Jason and others, he’s sure. Why come to him? She says, Jason and Sonny just lost someone close to them and they’re shook up. He’s the next best thing. He says he’s flattered she thought of him, and she says she decided to trust him. Don’t make her regret it. He says he appreciates her faith in him. He’ll take it from here. He opens the door, and she wonders if he’s asking her to leave. He says, as much as he enjoys her company, yes. She needs to go.

Anna tells Robert that there were live cameras at the Quartermaine estate. They can access the footage and track the vehicles that left after Sasha was kidnapped and mobilize them. He says, no police, and she says, okay. They’ll play it his way. Sidwell is a ruthless criminal, and he’s kidnapped Robert’s daughter. She doesn’t understand why he’s not losing his mind. He says he doesn’t think like a father. He thinks in terms of a mission. Get the diamonds, give them to Sidwell, take Sasha home. End of story. She says, Sasha’s life depends on it, and he says, Holly will get the diamonds, and she says she believes Holly will, but there’s no guarantee she’ll hand them over. She might just take off.

Holly goes to Pozzulo’s and sees Jason. She asks, where’s Sonny? She needs him. Jason says, this is the worst time for Sonny, but she says, it’s the worst time for her too. It’s an emergency. She needs her diamonds back. Screw the deal. Things have changed. Jenz Sidwell’s got her daughter.

Sasha pounds on the door and yells for Sidwell to open it. Let me out, you bastard! In the hallway, Sidwell tells the guards, feisty… just like her mother, and laughs.

Lucas tells Brad, it was supposed to be a simple procedure. He switched to surgery because he wanted to do more to help more people and save more people. But he came home, and his own sister dies after he operates on her. Sam begged him to perform the surgery because she trusted him. Now she’s dead. Brad says, it’s not his fault, but Lucas says, they don’t know that. He’s been wracking his brain trying to understand what went wrong, what mistake he made. Brad asks if he found one, and Lucas says, agreeing to the surgery. Brad says, he agreed because he knew he should. Sam knew too. What happened would have happened no matter what. Lucas says he’ll never know, but Brad says he knows Lucas as a man and a doctor. Lucas knows what it’s like to hold someone’s life in his hands. He’d never be careless, especially with his own sister. He was the right man for the job. Lucas tells him, that’s what Sam said, and Brad says, she was right. He didn’t make a mistake. It’s not his fault.

Portia tells Curtis that Sam’s pre-op was perfect. Everything was going well, and suddenly, this. He says he’s having a hard time accepting it, and she says she knows they were close. She’s sorry. She was on the team that tried to resuscitate Sam. Lucas fought with all he had in him. They all did, but it was no use. She saw the moment Lucas realized Sam was gone and had to say those words… time of death. She saw the look on his face. She loves her job, but sometimes it’s hard.

Carly wants to watch Jack take Sidwell down, but he says, she can’t always get what she wants. She asks how it’s different from watching the drone strike, and he says, it just is. She asks if he’s working with Sidwell, but he says he’s not. She asks why she has to leave, and he says, she saw Sidwell when he abducted Sasha. She’s a witness and that’s dangerous enough. She can’t get in deeper. She says, he’s worried about her.

Robert says, Holly isn’t going to let anything happen to Sasha, and Anna asks if she disclosed having the diamonds before today. He says, no, and she says she’s not surprised. He says, whatever Holly was doing in Africa, she had good reason for it, and Anna says, a million of them. He says, Holly isn’t going to let anything happen, and Anna says, Holly knows he won’t. She knows he’ll come to the rescue. She’ll make a hasty exit with the diamonds and leave him to pick up the pieces.

Holly tells Jason that Sidwell kidnapped her daughter, who she’s been estranged from for years. He’s demanding the diamonds in exchange for Sasha. She needs them now. He asks her to wait, and she says, once she has the diamonds, he’ll never have to see her again, but he says, they’re not done yet, and goes into Sonny’s office.

Sasha says, Sidwell is making a big mistake. He kidnapped the wrong person. He asks if she’s not Holly’s daughter, and she says, Holly will never come through with the ransom. If he’s dealt with her mother, he knows she can’t be trusted. She won’t pay him one penny. He says, then he’s in luck. He doesn’t want money. Holly took something from him – many somethings – and he wants them back.

Jason gives Holly the diamonds, and says, tell Sonny that she’ll make it up to him. Time is running out. Jason says, Sidwell is dangerous, and she says she know. He says, that’s why he’s going with her.

Robert says he’d go to the ends of the earth to protect their child, and Anna says she’s not going anywhere. Whatever happens, they’ll get his daughter back. Robert says, it’s time. Let’s go.

Carly says, Jack is concerned about her, and he says, Sidwell is a dangerous man with a long reach. The WSB plane was ransacked and the pilot is dead, along with other operatives that got in his way. Carly was only left alive to carry the message. So she has two options. Leave and pretend she never contacted the WSB or he takes her into protective custody. She says, fine. He wins. She leaves, and Jack gets on the phone. He says, there’s a woman leaving his office and he wants eyes on her. (Writing Mrs. Jack Brennan on my notepad.)

Brad says, Lucas is carrying the weight of the world and doesn’t have to, and Lucas says, Brad was always so good at pep talks. Unfortunately, it’s not helping. He sits, and Brad says, sometimes terrible things happen and it’s no one’s fault. Lucas says he can still hear the alarms. He can feel the sensation of the paddles and the jolt with each shock. Watching the monitors and hoping for a response. Then the terrible silence. He cries and says he did everything he could think of. He tried every damn thing he could. Brad sits down and takes Lucas’s hand. He says, Lucas gave Sam every chance. There was nothing else he could do. Sam was gone. They hug.

Sonny tells Alexis, it’s a terrible thing for a parent to outlive their child. It’s a freak of nature. She says, it feels like there’s no color. Everything is grey. She’s not whole. There’s a piece missing. Sonny says he’s not going to pretend she can get it back and asks how Kristina and Molly are doing. She says, they’re doing their best, and he asks about Danny and Scout. She says, Danny is inconsolable, but she doesn’t think Scout understands what’s going on; she’s too little. She wonders if Sam looked like Scout when she was little. She missed Sam’s entire childhood and her teens, literally half of Sam’s life. Now there’s no time left. She should have never let Sam go.

Curtis gives Portia a glass of wine to take the edge off, and she says she appreciates him spoiling her. He says, she deserves it, and she says she hated asking Lucas about the surgery. She knows he’s grieving, but the hospital has to investigate. He says he’s sure Sam’s family would appreciate knowing what happened, and she says she’s worried about the autopsy. Part of her feels responsible. He asks, why? and she says she should have listened to her gut and not let Lucas operate on his sister.

Carly comes into the locker room and tells Brad, back off! She wants him to stay the hell away from her brother.

Sasha says, what Sidwell wants from her mother, he won’t get by keeping her. Holly could not care less about her. Holly dumped her on her grandmother and went off running cons across the globe. Is that what she did to him? Sidwell says he supposes it could be called a con, and she asks if Holly pretended to be in love with him. He laughs and says, long enough to get her hands on his diamonds, and she says she hopes they were insured. She doubts Holly will give them back. He says he finds that hard to believe with her here, and she says, the biggest con Holly ever ran was pretending to be a mother. She lost her baby, then her husband died less than a year later, and she never heard a peep. Does that sound like someone who gives a damn whether she lives or dies? He says, it’s not fair she has to pay the price for her mother’s neglect and betrayal, but Holly stole from him. He can’t let that stand. She says, he shouldn’t, but if he really wants his diamonds back, use her to get them. Let her go and she’ll get him what he wants.

Anna and Robert go to Jack’s office, and Anna asks, where’s Holly? Jack says, not here, and Robert says, she will be. Anna says, they should consider her not showing up or at least have a Plan B, but Holly walks in with Jason and says, that’s not necessary. Here. She gives Jack the diamonds and says, get her daughter back.

Alexis tells Sonny, she was so tiny and perfect. How could she have given Sam up? Sonny says, she was a kid, and she says she was Sam’s mother. He asks what she thought would happen to the baby, and she says she thought Sam would have a wonderful life with loving parents who knew what to do. He says, she made a responsible decision, but she says she made a terrible decision. She did what her father told her to do, and Sam had a terrible childhood and terrible parents. She had to fight for whatever she had. He says, she’ll never know what would have happened, and she says she had no contact. After she surrendered Sam, she went to school and more school. She was the perfect student. She wanted to make the sacrifice worth it, and it paid off. She had a successful career. Sam had a horrible one. He says, no one blames her, especially Sam, but she says she blames herself and she’s being punished now. He puts his arm around her and she leans on him. She says, if she could go back in time, she’d never give Sam up, and she cries.

Curtis asks if it wasn’t Sam’s call, and Portia says, yes. He says, then they can assume she was aware of the risks, and she says, Sam went on faith. She doesn’t have that luxury. She has to question her colleagues’ choices and reassess their procedures. He says, in no way was she at fault, and she says she hopes no one is. She’s praying the autopsy doesn’t say surgeon error, but she’s afraid it might.

Sonny says, Alexis had reason to believe Sam would be well taken care of, and she says, it’s not like she had much choice. He says, don’t judge yourself by the girl you used to be. Give yourself credit for the woman you are now. She says she tried to make it up to Sam now, but she doesn’t know if it was enough. Sonny says, Sam lived a tough childhood, like them, but they made it. Sam made it. She became like her mom – strong, independent, caring. Sam lived a great life, and she knew Alexis loved her. And she loved Alexis. Don’t ever doubt that.

Carly asks why Brad thinks Lucas would want anything to do with him, and Lucas tries to interrupt, but Brad says, if Lucas wants to talk, he knows where to find him. He leaves, and Carly says, they’re not back together. Lucas says, no. He was in a rough spot and Brad was being supportive. She says, he’ll use their tragedy to worm his way back into Lucas’s life, but Lucas says, he’s just being kind. She says, he has so many people to turn to. Don’t let it be Brad.

Holly apologizes for taking so long. She hit an unexpected roadblock. She came because she’s worried about Sasha’s safety. Anna says, Holly needed a fence and had Sonny hold the diamonds, and Holly says she couldn’t go to Robert or Anna. Anna says, she should never have gotten involved with a dangerous man and now she’s got Sonny involved. How did Sidwell figure out Sasha was her daughter? Robert says, he has connections. They need to proceed carefully. He thanks Jason, and says, now they have to find Sasha. That’s all that matters. Jack thanks Anna and Jason, and says, they have everything they need. Now to the business at hand. He trusts they know their way out. (Carving JB + TK on my desk.)

Curtis gives Portia a massage, and she asks, how was his day? He says, bittersweet. He saw Alexis. She was devastated, but she’s hanging in there. That’s more than he imagines Dante is doing. Portia says, it’s heartbreaking, and he says, it got him to thinking. All he’s been thinking about is his beautiful wife and spending quality time with her. He thought, what if he lost her and could never see her again? He never wants to take her or them for granted again. She says, they won’t. She cherishes every second with him. He says he cherishes her, and they kiss.

Lucas asks, what brings Carly to the hospital? and she says she was worried and wanted to check on him. He says he’s all right, but she says she knows he’s not. He says, any inquiry will be focused on his actions, and she says, the prescreening must not have detected an underlying condition. He says, maybe. Even if it did and he’s not at fault, his sister is still gone. She says, he did the best he could, and he says he didn’t want to do it. He let Sam talk him into it. She got him worked up to be on the team to save Lulu’s life. He never expected Sam to lose hers in the process. Carly hugs him and says, Sam loved him so much and she knew he loved her, and he says he can’t help but wonder, was operating on family the right choice? She says, he did what Sam asked, and if it was her, she’d ask the same thing. Sam wouldn’t want him blaming himself or thinking that her death was for nothing. They hug.

Alexis tells Sonny that she remembers when Sam arrived. Sam hated her. Sam blamed her for everything, and it haunts her now. He says, she understood that it was hard for Alexis to give her up, especially after she became a mother, and Alexis says, because of the trauma with her mother, she didn’t take to motherhood easily. She had to work at it. Sam is a natural. Sam was a natural. She was patient, firm, and loving. He says, she was tough. She stood up for the little guy. She saw Lulu needed help and didn’t think twice. Does Alexis know why? She learned it from her mom. She had a pretty damn good role model.

Sasha says, Sidwell knows how vain Holly is. She’ll get Holly talking about the diamonds and Holly won’t be able to resist bragging. She’ll bait Holly into showing them to her, then she’ll retrieve them, and Holly will never get them back. She can get them. Her mother taught her well. She knows all of Holly’s tricks, but he has to let her go if he wants to see his diamonds again. He says he spent a lot of time with Holly and also learned her tricks. Now he got to know Sasha a little, and even though Holly abandoned her child, one thing is for sure… like mother, like daughter. No deal. No compromise. He’s looking forward to seeing Holly again and letting her know how he feels about her betrayal. Sasha says, it’s too bad Holly will probably be long gone, and he says, too bad indeed. Because if Holly doesn’t give him what he wants, Sasha will pay for her dear mother’s crime.

Anna says, Jack can’t push her off this case. It’s in her jurisdiction. Jack says, she knows the fewer people involved, the better. And Sidwell stipulated that the police not be involved. She says she’ll do it without the sanctioning from her higher ups, but he says she’ll be duty bound to go by procedure. Figuring out negotiation strategy and getting clearance. They don’t have the time. She says, Robert is the DA, and Jack says, if he wasn’t Sasha’s father, he’d be showing Robert the door. He’s giving her deniability. Robert tells her to back off for him, and Holly says she’s begging Anna for Sasha. Help them save their daughter. Time is running out.

Jack says, leave it to him. He’ll reach out to Jason and Anna if there’s a reason. Jason says he knows Jack will and asks Jack to give them the courtesy of a heads up if he has to take extreme measures. Jason and Anna leave, and Robert says he wants to know what Jack has on Sidwell, and not the version he gives to the public, the black box version. He wants to know everything about the man who’s got his daughter. Jack says he’ll give Robert what he has, when Holly’s phone rings. She says, it’s Jenz.

Curtis says he never wants to be without her, and Portia says, he’ll never have to be. They get busy.

Sonny says, there’s nothing in Alexis’s refrigerator, and she says she doesn’t have much of an appetite. He asks if she wants to go through photos for the obit. Whatever she needs, he’s here. He’s doing it for her, but also for Sam. She thanks him, and he says, she may not have been there in the beginning, but she was there at the finish. She should be proud and grateful for the time she had with Sam. She did real good. Sam was one in a million. Alexis links her arm in his and puts her head on his shoulder.

Holly asks what Sidwell wants, and he says he was just getting to know her delightful daughter. Holly says, you son of a bitch. Touch Sasha, and I’ll kill you. Sasha says she’s here and she’s okay, and Holly tells her, hang on. Jack gestures for Holly to keep talking, and Holly says she’s coming to get Sasha. Sidwell says, only if she follows his instructions to the letter. Arrivederci. He hangs up, and Jack and Jason look at each other.

Tomorrow, Alexis tells Tracy that she thinks Scout and Danny should live with her; Tracy says, Cody dodged a bullet; Ric wants to know where Anna got something; and Jason says, you show me Sasha, I’ll show you the diamonds.

🍊 Rotten Oranges Part 1…

It’s the RHOC Reunion, and yay, just the first part of three. Shannon’s drinking was rehashed, and 😴. Shannon said she no longer used alcohol to cope, and a viewer wondered why Gina had been supportive when Shannon was less than about Gina’s DUI. Gina said, now that Shannon had walked a mile – or driven as it were – in her shoes, Shannon had a different perspective. Emily told Tamra that her constant talking about Shannon being an alcoholic was counterproductive. You can’t bully someone into not drinking. Truth! And it probably just makes them want to drink more, so don’t do it. Tamra admitted she’d just been angry, and kinda, sorta apologized, but IMO, continued with her attempts to gaslight Shannon. Shannon accepted Tamra’s apology, but didn’t want to be her friend anymore. Can’t say I blame her and that’s probably the wisest choice she’s made since being on the show.

After the break, everyone felt the need to talk about their bowel movement habits, and Shannon said she was about to poop right now. Thanks for sharing! The Fancy Pants Heather/paparazzi thing bounced back, and again 😴. Fancy Pants and Emily ganged up on Katie about some ten year old story. Katie tried to explain, and Fancy Pants said her story was different from that of the police… because the police would/could never lie. That was my looking at the camera like Jim from The Office moment for the night. Emily agreed and said, Katie always had a different story from the other person’s. I guess the other person be wrong. I was shocked that Emily, being an attorney who works with the wrongly convicted, could think it isn’t possible for the police to lie. A nice coda was, after Andy called for a break, Fancy Pants told Katie how sorry she was. Save it, sister.

Fancy Pants, Emily, and Tamra sat together and steamrolled whoever their target of the moment was, not letting them get a word in edgewise. I also think they believe whatever they read on the internet. Ryan’s misdeeds were discussed, and it ended with Emily complaining about Jenn doing her Tammy Wynette thing, standing by her man. She needed to be accountable. I dunno. It seems like Ryan’s done more good than harm as far as Jenn is concerned, and if Jenn’s happy, leave her be happy. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what was happening with Emily’s hair.

Next time, Shannon calls someone an a-hole.

November 5, 2024 – Willow Confronts Sasha About Cody, Drink Up, Soap Suds, A New York Minute, Film Watch, Prediction, First Derry, Releasing Soon, Never Enough & Boogie

Standard

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

Willow finds Sasha in the nook and says she thought Sasha was her friend. Sasha flashes back to getting busy with Michael, and says she is. Willow asks, then how could she do this?

In TJ’s office, Alexis asks if they know what caused it, but he says, not yet. They’re doing everything possible to find out. Molly says, it makes no sense. She and Dante just got engaged. (Like that negates the possibility of death.) TJ says, that reminds him, and gives Alexis Sam’s ring in a plastic bag. Kristina says, it should be on Sam’s finger, but TJ says, not during an autopsy. Alexis says, Portia told her, but Kristina says, they’re not cutting open her sister.

On the phone, Jason asks if Carly minds staying at the Quartermaines. He’d feel better if she was there for Danny and Scout. Carly promises to stick around, and Jason says he’s got to go. She says she loves him, and he says he loves her too. Drew comes in and Carly asks, how’s Scout? He says, she fell asleep in his arms. It’s hard seeing his girl in that much pain… It’s hard knowing she’ll wake up and find out her mother’s not there and there’s nothing he can do. Carly says, he can be there, but he says, it’s not enough. She needs Sam. He needs Sam. What does he know about raising a little girl? She says she knows how much he loves Scout, but he says he doesn’t know how to raise her on his own. She tells him to lean on the family. Let them help him. Michael comes in and asks Drew, what’s wrong? Are his poll numbers down?

Nina meets Ava for drinks, and says, Ava wanted to ask her something? Ava says she does. She wants to start by saying she knows she’s a fool for throwing their friendship away. Nina says, no argument there, and Ava says she’s grateful Nina forgave her, but wanted to ask if Nina thinks they’ll ever be able to get back to the friendship they had.

Diane knocks at Robert’s door, then comes in. She says she’s sorry. She thought he’d be alone, but that’s obviously not the case.

Carly says, there’s something she needs to tell Michael, and Drew says he’ll be upstairs with Scout. He leaves, and Michael asks, what’s going on? Carly says she has terrible news, and he asks if it’s Lulu, but she says, it’s not Lulu. It’s Sam. Michael says, Dante texted him that everything went great, and Sam was fine. Carly says, she was fine. Then she wasn’t. They lost her. He asks if she’s saying Sam is dead.

Kristina says, no, but TJ says, an unexplained death… Kristina says she doesn’t care, and Molly says, stop. Doesn’t she want to find out what happened? Kristina says, of course (🍷), and Molly says, that’s how the find out. Kristina says she doesn’t want them to cut Sam open, but Molly says, it’s the only way. Kristina tells Alexis that she’s sorry, and Alexis says she wasn’t thinking. Molly says she never does (and I slap her in my mind), but Alexis says, not today. They have to make arrangements for Sam. TJ says he can have a patient advocate walk her through the process, and he leaves. Kristina says she’s sorry, and Molly says, her too. Alexis says she needs them both to stick together, and they agree they will.

Sasha says she’s sorry, but Willow says she doesn’t want to hear Sasha’s excuses. She told Sasha in confidence. Why did she tell Cody? Sasha says she trusted Cody, and Willow asks if she knows he got drunk and punched Drew. Sasha says she heard, and Willow says she trusted Sasha. Now Michael found out in the worst possible way. He didn’t come home last night. Sasha asks if they’ve talked today, and Willow says, he’s willing to give her another chance. He values their marriage. Sasha flashes back to getting busy with Michael and says she’s sorry. She never meant to hurt Willow. Willow says, then she should have kept it between them. Who else did she tell? Sasha says, no one. She only told Cody because they were in a relationship. Willow says she hopes Sasha dumped him for violating her confidence the way Sasha violated hers, and Sasha says, Willow will be happy to know they’re not together anymore, but that’s not why

Holly says she was just leaving. It’s good to see Diane. Diane says, it’s good to see her too. She’s here so often. Holly tells Robert, until next time, and leaves. Diane says, and there always is a next time with that one. She didn’t mean to interrupt. Robert asks if she’s here on business or pleasure, and Diane says, business, alas. She’s dropping off a motion to dismiss the Colban case. He asks if she’s kidding, but she says she’s not. Read ‘em and weep. Until next time. She leaves.

Alexis says she doesn’t know how to get through, and Felicia says, just keep moving from one minute to the next. Alexis asks what she does this minute, and Felicia says she can walk Alexis through the necessary forms, and as a friend, make it painless as possible. Alexis says, just do it (I’m pleased that she pulls out a raggy tissue, as we all would, or at least I would), and Felicia says she has to decide on a funeral home. Alexis says, Dante said he’d prefer she make the arrangements, but she has nothing yet. Kristina says she’ll be back, and leaves. Molly suggests the funeral home that they used for Irene, and Alexis thanks her. Molly and TJ leave, and Alexis cries.

TJ asks how Molly is doing, and she says she’s fine. She has to be. He takes her hands and asks how she’s doing really. She says, heartbroken, angry, scared… She just lost Irene, then there was that craziness with Kristina, now losing Sam. She’s not sure how much more she can take. He hugs her.

Michael asks how Sam is gone, and Carly says, it doesn’t make sense. He says, Sam’s been here for him like the big sister he never had. He asks if she wants any help, and she says, the kids are asleep and she’s staying in case they need her. He asks if Willow knows, but she says she doesn’t think so. He doesn’t have to make it better for everyone else. He says he can’t sit around feeling sad, when his phone rings. Kristina asks if he’s heard, and he says, just now. Where is she? She says, at GH in the chapel. Can he come? She needs him.

Nina tells Ava that she gave up everything for a man and values her female friendships more highly now. (Hear her, ladies. In my dating days, I never once ditched my girlfriends. Men might come and go, but your girlfriends are forever.) It will take time and effort, but she’s willing to work at it. Ava says, so is she, and they toast to friends. Nina’s phone rings, and she looks at it, but ignores it. She says she’s worried about Willow. She’s not all right because Drew convinced her that he was a decent guy. Ava says, Drew the candidate or Drew the Quartermaine? and Nina says, Drew barely escaped a scandal. Cody got drunk and punched Drew in the face at the Brown Dog Bar. (I so badly want to go to a dive called the Brown Dog Bar.) Drew was fine and Cody went to jail, but not before he announced Drew was kissing his nephew’s wife. Ava says, Nina’s not telling her that Drew and Willow…

Willow asks why Sasha and Cody broke up. What did he do? (Ha-ha-ha! As pissed as she is at Sasha, she figures it was him.) Sasha says, Cody is a great guy. He probably wouldn’t have said what he did if they were still together, but it’s not that. Willow asks, why? and Sasha says, they can’t be together. It turns out they’re cousins – first cousins. She found out Robert Scorpio is her father. Willow asks, how? and Sasha says, after lying to her for her whole life, her mother told her the truth. Willow says, Sasha told her that her mother was dead. She lied? Sasha says, yes, and Willow says she’s starting to think she doesn’t know Sasha at all.

There’s a knock at Diane’s office door, and she says, her favorite client. Jason walks in, and she says, what’s up? He says, something happened, and he wants her to hear it from him. Sam had a heart attack this evening. Diane asks if she’s okay, but he says, they couldn’t save her. Sam died.

In the chapel, Kristina looks up and says, here I am. Why did You do it? She gets up and almost leaves, but comes back. She says, look. I said I’d go to therapy. I said I’d go to group. I said I’d learn how to be a better sister. I did all those things and now this. After I already lost my daughter and can barely breathe, now You go and take my sister too? Why? Why, God, why? Answer me. I don’t get it and I want answers. I want to know how and why did You do this. You just took her from me and left me here with nothing. I have nothing left and I don’t know what to do. She cries and says, haven’t I suffered enough? Michael comes in, and Kristina says, Sam is dead. She’s gone. He holds her as she cries.

Sasha says she told everyone her mother was dead, but she only wanted it to be true. She may as well have been, since she was never there. Her mother never told her who her father was. Willow says, but when she realized Sasha was seeing Cody… Sasha says, she decided to do the right thing for once. She’s a two-faced, lying… Willow says she’s sorry Sasha and Cody can’t be together, but she’s fighting for her marriage because Sasha couldn’t keep her mouth shut. Sasha says she’s sorry, and Willow says she grew up in a cult and it was hard for her to trust anyone. Michael is willing to give her another chance. This hurt him. Sasha says she never should have told Cody something Willow shared in confidence (oh come on, stop acting like no one does this), but Willow needs to accept that everything that happened, happened because she kissed Drew. And not just once. If she’s so concerned about trust and honesty, look in the mirror. She has no one else to blame for this mess but herself. (Brava and grazie.)

Holly goes into her hotel room and can see it’s been tossed.

Diane says she can’t imagine what’s happening with Alexis. She should call her. Jason says, she’s making arrangements, and Diane says she doesn’t understand. Sam was fearless. She was invincible. Nobody was tougher and to lose her like this is unthinkable… She’s sorry. She can’t imagine what he’s going through. She knows how much Sam loved him. Jason says, he loved her, and she says, they all did. She was somebody who faced their problems head on. She always admired that about Sam. He says he thought she should know, and she thanks him. He asks, what’s wrong? (because that’s not enough) and she says, her problem is inconsequential… All right. He seems to want an extra helping of grief. They sit down, and she says she took something to Robert’s office and when she walked in, there was Holly. He asks if something happened, and she says, not overtly, but she just has to face the truth. Robert is still in love with Holly.

Nina says, Drew told Michael, and Ava asks, why? Nina says, somebody videoed Cody’s rant and sent it to Ned, and Ned threatened to blackmail Drew. Willow wanted to tell Michael, but she had no chance. And because Drew wanted to save his campaign, he convinced Willow not to tell Michael in the first place. It goes to show how Willow is a better person than she and Drew will ever be. Now Willow knows the kind of man Drew is. He’s a slick, smooth backstabbing bastard. Ava says, Nina is taking it rather personally, and Nina says, Willow is her daughter. Ava says, there’s more than that. Spill. Nina says she and Drew have had sex more than once, and Ava nearly chokes on her martini.

Sasha says, Willow keeps talking about the kiss, but they know it wasn’t just one time. Stop blaming everyone else and tell the truth. Willow says, it was a mistake, and Sasha says, both times? Willow says, yes, and they agreed there was no reason to hurt Michael. Sasha says, so she decided to lie. Be mad at Drew or herself, but leave her out of it. Willow says, if Sasha hadn’t told Cody, Cody wouldn’t have announced it, and Sasha says, she’s sick of everybody justifying their bad behavior. She was warned about the Quartermaines, but she had no idea. Willow will fit right in. Willow says, that’s not fair, but Sasha says, what’s not fair is Willow judging everyone else for her own mistakes. She’s quitting. She can’t work in this snake pit any longer. She can’t be with the man she loves, and she’s lost her best friend. Why stay? Carly walks in, and Sasha says, what is it?

Alexis asks Molly where her sister is, and Molly says, she’s in the chapel with Michael. Kristina asked if Alexis needed anything, but she didn’t say Alexis needed her here. Alexis says, Molly is still grieving her own child. If she’s holding it together for herself, that’s the way she needs to grieve. If she’s holding it together for her, don’t. It’s too much. It’s just all too much. They hug.

Kristina tells Michael that she was thinking about the time Sam went with her to get birth control for the first time. Sam took her there. Sam was there for all her firsts. Sam taught her self-worth and not to pick a partner that treated her like crap, but she didn’t listen. Michael says, they all make mistakes, and Kristina says, when she was with Dawn of Day, Sam risked her life to save her. He says, Sam would do anything for the people she loved and who loved her, and Kristina says, there was never judgement. If she wanted advice and guidance and couldn’t go to her mom, she’d go to Sam, and Sam wouldn’t think any less of her. He tells her to take the advice and guidance and use it. Be there for her mom and Molly like Sam was for her. Kristina says, to be honest, she’s the middle sister and still figuring it out. She can’t be the big sister. He says, he’s not saying she should fill Sam’s shoes, and she says she can’t be the big sister. She’s not supposed to be. He says, it’s not supposed to be this way, but it is, and they have to face that.

Diane says, when she found them together, she could tell by looking at their faces that she’d interrupted something. Sasha is Robert and Holly’s daughter. Jason says he’s surprised, and Diane says, it was a surprise to Robert too. He’s thrilled to have another daughter. Jason asks if things have changed, and she says, Robert told her that she’s the only woman in his heart. He says, she thinks he’s lying? and she says, only to himself. She believes he cares, but the way he feels about her is not the way he loves Holly.

Michael puts his arm around Kristina, and she cries. Willow calls, but he ignores it.

Willow leaves Michael a message that she heard about Sam. She’s so sorry. His mom said he was with Kristina. Call back when he has the chance.

Ava says, oh boy, and Nina says, it started out as hate sex, but when she found out about the thing Drew was having with Willow, she started sleeping with him to distract him from her. It’s not a great plan. Ava asks if Willow knows, but Nina says, no, and she can never find out. Ava says, Nina can’t guarantee Cody doesn’t know about it, and Nina says, he does. He threw it in their faces at the bar. Ava says, so Ned knows… and everybody in the bar. Nina says, Drew convinced them that Cody is a drunk who lies, and she’s sure he paid them off. It won’t go viral. In spite of Ned’s threat, the Quartermaines don’t want a scandal. Ava says, Nina needs to tell Willow before she hears it from someone else, and Nina says, Willow will hate her. Ava says, at least Nina can say they’re through. Don’t let a man ruin her relationship with her daughter. She learned the hard way. Put her relationship with Willow above everyone else. Nina says, her child will always come first. She just hopes Willow’s marriage survives Drew’s selfishness.

Willow knocks on Drew’s door and says she just heard. She’s so sorry. Drew says he keeps losing the people he loves, and she hugs him. She says she’s so sorry, and he says he keeps thinking about Scout having no mom. He doesn’t know how to help her through. She says, he’ll find a way, and he says he wishes he was the man she sees when she looks at him. That man is the father Scout needs. Willow says, he is that man. Whatever is ahead, he’ll handle it. He says he doesn’t know how to be a parent, and she promises he’s not alone. He pushes her hair back, and as many times as I yell, no, no, no! at the TV, she kisses him.

Alexis says, Sam’s not coming back, and Molly says, no, she’s not. She doesn’t know what she’s supposed to do. Nothing is going to be the same. It’s never going to be. Alexis says she’s glad Molly has TJ, and Molly says, Alexis has her. Alexis says, and her sister, and Molly says she and Kristina promised to be there for each other. Alexis says she needs Molly to mean that because it’s just them now. They’re going to have to hang in there for each other. Not just for them, but for Sam and all the people she left behind. That’s what they’re going to do. She leans on Molly’s shoulder and says, it’s just the three of them. Molly says, the three of them.

Drew kisses Willow’s hand and they get busy. There’s a song part. (I’ve always suspected Willow was a little stupid.)

Holly goes to Robert’s office, and he asks, what’s wrong? She says she swore she’d never do this to him again, but he says, spit it out. She says she’s in trouble.

Sasha says she can’t believe Sam is gone, and Carly says, Jason told her. Sasha says, Dante must be devastated, and the kids, and Carly says, it’s heartbreaking. Sam was a great mom. The kids meant everything to her. Sasha says, they were lucky to have her. What do they do now? Carly says, be there for them, and Sasha says, of course (🍷) no one can replace their mom, especially one as loving and caring as Sam.

Suddenly, several masked men come in, along with Sidwell. One of the men grabs Sasha’s arm, and Sidwell says, if she’ll be kind enough to come with them… Carly says she has no idea who he is, but he has no idea what he’s messing with, and Sidwell says, don’t I, Miss Spencer? Call the authorities, and Sasha dies. Carly says she has better people to call, and he says, while she’s calling her friends in the underworld, tell Sasha’s mother that he wants his diamonds back. They leave, dragging Sasha with them.

Tomorrow, Michael asks if Brook has seen Willow; Willow says, this can never happen again; Anna says, Holly can’t be counted on to do the right thing; and Carly asks Jack what Sidwell is doing in Port Charles when the WSB is looking for him.

🍷 New drinking game. Whenever someone says, this can never happen again, take a shot. Take another when it does happen again.

🧴 A Little Bit Of Soap…

While everyone is doing a stellar job, I’m with Kristina. Why?

Very cool that she found a whole new niche for herself.

https://www.soapsindepth.com/posts/general-hospital/kimberly-mccullough-reveals-her-exciting-new-project

I’m definitely looking forward to this. It’s been a while since we’ve gotten a new soap and it’s about time we got a predominantly Black cast. I’ve been disappointed with GH on this front.

🗽 Biting the Big Apple…

Racquel explained why she wanted to keep her engagement quiet and why she’d kept her previous breakup quiet. Apparently, the art world is very shallow, and she was concerned that the business she and her ex-husband shared would be hit in the wallet. Even more sadly, when the breakup became public knowledge, Racquel’s fiancé Mel was painted as a homewrecker, even though it was like a year later. Evidently, gossip is also part of the art world. Are they bored or just boring? Raquel had difficulty with revealing the relationship to her mom, who wouldn’t have the perfect image to present of her daughter. She hadn’t visited Racquel since her divorce, and Racquel and Mel discussed the possibility of her not coming to the wedding. I dunno. I’d be pretty proud of Racquel. She has an amazing career, isn’t doing bad at all financially, has a beautiful wardrobe and home, and is happy in her personal life. What more can you ask for?

Sai gifted Ubah with a book called Pigeon Watching, which was pretty funny. In Ubah’s interview, she said, the women were all in the book and she probably was too.

Jessel and husband Pavit went out to eat, and while Pavit was busy snapping pix of his food, Jessel tried to discuss their embryos on ice and how they needed couples therapy. At Erin’s Cinco de Mayo event in celebration of her new mezcal (🤮), Brynn flirted with Erin’s dad. In Sai’s interview, she pointed out how Brynn got mad about the sugar daddy stories, yet perpetuated that view of herself. Once again, loving Racquel, but Brynn, not so much.

Speaking of Brynn. Yeah. It’s always the editing.

👀 Do Watch Don’t…

I checked out Don’t Move last weekend and finally, a movie without a disappointing ending. No spoilers because this is in the film description. A woman about to commit suicide meets a stranger who causes her to rethink that plan. Later, said stranger kidnaps her, injecting her with a paralyzing drug. Angst and tension ensue. Kelsey Asbille (Iris) and Finn Wittrock (Richard) are the main players who carry the movie, and they’re superb. And with a lot of physically demanding scenes, no doubt came home from filming with bruises.

🎱 Magic 8 Ball Says…

I hate to say it, but it was probably just dumb luck that they were right before and ditto if they’re right tonight. It’s not like there’s anyone voting in the poll outside of the viewers.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

First, my bad yesterday. It was Rocco with Dante, not Danny. Hey, I was burnt out from all the Halloween festivities and those two kids look alike. Moving on…

Holly knocks at Robert’s office door and says she hopes she’s not interrupting. He says, only his pathetic attempt at concentrating. He’s surprised to see her. He thought she would have been on her way to the next adventure by now. She asks why he’d say that, and he says, it’s normally at that stage where they’re left to clean up the mess she’s left.

Maxie asks James to put a decoration next to the fireplace, but he’s busy playing with his lasso. She says, yo, cowboy, but he says, yo and cowboy don’t go together. She says, howdy then. Can he put this next to the fireplace? He says his holster isn’t fitting right, and she says she’ll fix it. He asks, when? and she says, when he helps his mother out. He does as she asks, and she tells him, that wasn’t too difficult, was it? Spinelli comes out in a suit decorated like a skeleton and says, happy Halloween, family. Maxie says, nice. They really should start feeding him more. He’s all skin and bones. He says, a skeleton joke, and here’s him thinking he couldn’t love her any more, and James says, yuk. Maxie asks, where’s Georgie? and Spinelli says, getting dressed he assumes. Georgie comes out in regular clothes, and he says, or not. Maxie asks, where’s her costume? and Georgie says she decided not to wear it. Maxie says, why? and Georgie says she’s too old for trick-or-treating.

A man lets Kristina into Dante and Sam’s apartment, and she thanks him. She says, Sam is always doing nice stuff for other people. She thought it would be nice to do something for her. The man says, Dante told him about the liver donation. It takes a special person to do something like that. Kristina says, that’s what Sam is. She’s special. He says he’ll leave her to it and goes. She puts her bags down, when Molly comes out. She asks what Kristina is doing here.

At the hospital, Sonny sees Laura and says, Madam Mayor. She asks what she said about him calling her that, and he says, that she loves it. She laughs and asks, what brings him to the hospital today? Other than giving her a hard time. He says he’s visiting Dante and Sam, and she says, great minds think alike. He asks if she’s visiting Lulu, and she says she is. He says, any changes? and she says, Lulu actually made it through the surgery and Dr. Gannon says he’s cautiously optimistic, so she is too. He says, more than cautiously he bets, and she says, vigorously optimistic. He says he’s pulling for Lulu, and she says she knows and thanks him for that. He says, all thanks go to Sam, and she says, they certainly do. She’s so grateful to Sam for giving her daughter this chance.

Carly meets Jason outside Bobbie’s and says she got his message. She got here as soon as she could. He says he was at the hospital, and she says, what happened? What’s going on? He says, Sam died.

Rocco says, they just saw her. Sam was fine. Dante asks, what’s going on? and Alexis says, she’s gone. Rocco tells her, stop saying that, and Dante asks, what’s she talking about? Sam was fine. He just saw her. She was joking around. She was fine. Portia says she’s so sorry… but he says, no. She was fine. How can she just be gone? It doesn’t make any sense.

Holly tells Robert, nothing she can say can justify keeping their daughter from him all these years, and he says, they’re both in agreement on that. What is she doing here? She says she’s worried about their daughter, and he says, their daughter. He’s still getting used to that. She says she’s never going to win any mother of the year awards, and he says, they don’t give awards for that. She says she loves Sasha and it’s breaking her heart that Sasha is shutting her out, seemingly forever. Sasha’s even blocked her number. He says, that’s between her and Sasha, and she says she was hoping he’d speak to Sasha and asks Sasha about unblocking her, but he says, Sasha isn’t answering his calls either. She says, maybe they could go over to the Quartermaines, but he says, it’s up to Sasha how much she wants to let him in, if at all. She says she hopes Sasha does, and he says, so does he. She says, keep trying? and he says, promise. She starts to leave, and he says, before she goes out that door, there’s something he needs to know.

Maxie asks, since when is Georgie too old for trick-or-treating? and Georgie says she’s not a kid anymore. James says, she’s going to miss out on all the candy, but she says, there’s more to life than just candy. He says, like what? and she says, like everything. Spinelli says, a little bit of advice. Don’t be in too much of a hurry to grow up. You only get to be a kid once. Maxie says she agrees, and Halloween is the best. It’s the one day of the year you get to be anything you want to be. Georgie says she just wants to be her. Is Maxie mad? Maxie says, of course (🍷) she’s not mad. She just confused. This came out of nowhere. Georgie says she’s just over it. That’s all. Maxie says, she’s over it or her friends are.

Kristina says she came to support her sister, and Molly says, really. The idea of her taking care of anybody but herself is just… Don’t worry. It’s already done. Kristina says it is possible for her to think of something Molly hasn’t, and Molly says, like what? Kristina takes things out as she talks and says, like pajamas. Comfy, but still sexy. Slippers. And mysteries to pass the time. And Halloween candy so she doesn’t feel like she completely missed out. Molly says, that’s actually pretty thoughtful, and Kristina thanks her. Molly says, but Kristina knows Sam isn’t actually coming home today, right?

Carly asks what Jason is talking about. Sam made it through surgery. It’s got to be… He says, it’s not some kind of mistake. He saw her. Carly asks, what happened? and he says, she had a heart attack. She says, that’s crazy. A heart attack? Sam is perfectly healthy. He says, she’s gone, and Carly says she can’t believe this. He says he needs her help right now, and she asks what he needs. He says he was bringing Danny and Scout to see Sam and when they got off the elevator, he saw Alexis and he knew. He knew something was wrong. So he told Danny to come here and wait, and Danny texted that he was taking Scout trick-or-treating and bring her here right after. She says, he has to tell them, but he says he doesn’t know how. Drew needs to know. She says, yes, of course (🍷) he does. She can call him. How is this happening? How are they standing here trying to figure out how to tell the people Sam loved that she’s gone?

Portia says, Sam experienced cardiac arrest, and Rocco says, she had a heart attack? Dante says, wait. The surgery went well, right? Everything was good. She checked out. Everything was fine. Portia says, any surgery can have unexpected post-op complications. She’s so sorry for his loss. He says he doesn’t want her apology. He just wants to know what happened to Sam. Portia says, they’re in the process of an investigation and promises she’ll reach out after the autopsy. Rocco says he doesn’t understand, and Dante says he doesn’t either, and hugs Rocco. Laura and Sonny join them, and Laura asks, is it Lulu?

Robert says, Holly said she wouldn’t have told him about Sasha if this business with Cody hadn’t been in play, and she says, that’s true. He says, but she told him that he’s a great father, and she says, he’s an incredible father. She’s seen it firsthand with Robin. He’d have risked everything for her, and he did. We flash back to Holly and Robert when we were all babies, and he tells Holly that he has to do this. That woman out there is a large part of his life. Apart from being his wife, she’s also the mother of that little person upstairs. He just wouldn’t be a person if he didn’t try to bring her back. She says, he wouldn’t be the Rob she knows if he didn’t feel that way. In the present, she says, he’d have gone to the ends of the earth for Robin, and he asks why she wouldn’t assume he’d do the same for Sasha. And don’t tell him it’s because he would hate her or not accept Sasha. He wants to know why she didn’t tell him that he had a daughter.

Georgie says she doesn’t feel like playing pretend, and Spinelli says, if she’ll permit him the briefest of history lessons. Maxie says, did they stop him? and he says, Halloween isn’t just about dressing up. It used to be called All Hallow’s Eve. James says, that sounds way cooler, and Spinelli says, doesn’t it? It depended on the culture, but in most places, it was about honoring those people that had made sacrifices for others. Georgie says, he’s making this up, but he says he jests not. People dressed up to emulate their heroes. James says, like him. Cowboys are the ultimate heroes. Georgie says she didn’t know that, and Maxie says, when she was around Georgie’s age, her friends said dressing up in costumes was for babies. Georgie asks what she did, and Maxie says she stopped dressing up. She stopped going out for Halloween and didn’t trick-or-treat. James says, super lame, and Maxie agrees. She says, but her sister… Georgie says, Georgie? and Maxie says, yeah. She loved Halloween. She trick-or-treated all through high school. She said it was fun and she said she had no plans to outgrow having fun. Spinelli says, sounds like Georgie, and Maxie says, yeah. She wishes she’d listened to her sister instead of her friends though. Her Aunt Georgie was right. Georgie says, we never outgrow having fun, and Maxie says, never. (My friends and I not only trick-or-treated until we were about 16, we would go home, change costumes, and go out again. I’m pretty sure it’s one of the reasons people have kids.)

Laura says, somebody tell her what happened, and Alexis says, it wasn’t Lulu. Laura says, then what’s wrong? and Alexis says, it was Sam. She didn’t make it. Laura says, what? and Dante asks if Alexis can tell him what happened. Was she there? Alexis nods and says, yeah, and Sonny asks, what the hell happened? Dante says, Sam is dead. She’s gone. That’s what happened, okay? He asks Alexis, please tell him what happened to Sam, and Alexis takes his face in her hands and says, Sam was showing her the engagement ring. He cries, and she says, then she couldn’t breathe and then she closed her eyes and then she didn’t… She hugs him and he cries.

At the Quartermaines, Drew says, this is a nice surprise. What brings Carly back? She asks if they can talk in the living room, and he says, what’s going on? She says, it’s just something that would be better discussed in private, but he says, this is fine. What happened? She says she’s so sorry… He tells her, just say it, and she says, Sam died this evening. The surgery went well, and she was in recovery, and then she had a heart attack. He says, Sam? and she says, yeah. She was on the phone with Lucas on the way over here. He tried to revive her. He did everything he could. Drew asks what she’s talking about. Was she there? She says, no, but Jason and Alexis were there. He says, Jason was with Scout and with Danny, but she says she just saw him. He was at Bobbie’s. Drew asks, where are they? Where’s his daughter?

Danny and Scout arrive at Bobbie’s, and Scout says she’s sorry. Jason asks what she’s sorry for, and she says, they couldn’t wait anymore. They had to go trick-or-treating. Danny says he didn’t want to miss the good candy, and Jason says, smart move. Scout asks if they can visit mommy now.

Holly says, when she and Robert were married and in love was the sweetest time she’d ever experienced, and he says, they were happy. She says, so happy. It was this perfect memory to lay her head down on at night and she was terrified she was going to lose that. He asks how she’d lose it, and she says, if you alter perfection in any way, it loses its magic, and she didn’t want that to happen to them or even the memory of them. He says, but a piece was missing, and she says, if she’d tried to add that, nothing would have been the same. She was afraid to risk it. She was 100% completely selfish. He says, they missed out on something more spectacular than what they had, and she says she guesses they’ll never know.

Molly says, Sam’s got to stay in the hospital at least a week to recuperate, and Kristina says she thought since the surgery went so well, maybe Sam will be home early. Molly asks if Kristina read the research she gave her on recovering liver donors, but Kristina says, there’s been a lot going on. Molly says, for Sam. The doctor’s not going to just slap on a Band-Aid and send her home.  There’s a whole protocol. Kristina says she didn’t come here for a lecture, and starts gathering everything up. Molly says, no. She came here to bring Sam a bunch of stuff she doesn’t need. Kristina says she came here to support her sister, and Molly says, maybe she should have taken the time to inform herself on what Sam is going through. Kristina says, oh my God. She’s sorry she didn’t take the time to read the stupid email, and Molly says, it’s no surprise. Kristina asks, what’s that supposed to mean? and Molly says, it’s her whole M.O. All about the gesture, never about the follow-through. (Ugh. Somebody needs to slap Molly.)

Laura takes Alexis’s hand and says she’s so incredibly sorry for her loss. Sam was just an incredible person and just so generous. It’s just not right. Staring straight ahead, Alexis says, no, it’s not, and Laura asks Rocco to come with her to the chapel. She wants to say a prayer for Sam. Rocco says he wants to stay with dad, but Dante says, go with grandma. Laura and Rocco leave, and Alexis continues to look catatonic. Sonny sits next to her and says he’s sorry. Is there anything he could do? Alexis says, bring her back, and he says he wishes he could. She says she needs to go talk to Kristina and Molly before they find out from somebody else, and he says he can do it, but she says she needs to do it. He says, go ahead. He’ll take care of Rocco and Dante. Alexis thanks Dante for loving her daughter, and Dante cries. Alexis says, he made her very, very happy. She leaves and Sonny sits next to Dante, putting his arm around Dante’s shoulders. He asks if there’s anything Dante needs, and Dante says he thinks he needs to go see Sam.

Jason asks Scout and Danny to have a seat on the bench, and tells them, something very sad and unexpected happened, and Danny says, this has to do with mom, doesn’t it? Jason says, yeah, and Scout says, what about mom? Jason tells them, there’s no easy way to say this, but their mom died in the hospital only a while ago, and Danny says, mom’s dead? Jason nods and says he’s sorry. Danny asks if that’s why he made them leave. Was it happening then? Jason says he didn’t know what was going on, but he knew something was wrong. He found out later from the doctors that they were doing everything they could to save her. Danny says, but they didn’t, and Jason says, their mom’s heart stopped. Danny asks, why? and Jason says, they don’t know yet. Scout says, mom can’t die. The part they took out was supposed to grow back. She’s saving Rocco’s mom. She’s a hero.

Dante goes into Sam’s room, sees her, and cries. He sits by the bed and says, it’s not supposed to be like this. He takes her hand and says he’s so sorry. She looks like she’s sleeping. Like she could wake up. That’s not going to happen, is it? He cries and says he’s so sorry. She was so beautiful. He doesn’t think she ever realized how beautiful she was. He should have told her more. He Just doesn’t understand this. He puts his head on her chest.

Robert says he understands Holly was afraid, but if she’d risked something, maybe they would have preserved what they had. She says she’s so sorry, and he says, so is he. Because from what he remembers, he risked everything to save her. She says, and that was before he was in love with her. We flash back to Robert telling her that he admits he never planned it this way, but he can give her a lot of good reasons why she should marry him right now. But first and foremost, he knows that under the circumstances, Luke would want it this way. Think about this. If she marries him, everything is safe and sound. She says she can’t exactly refuse to consider it, and he says, then she will think about it? In the present, Holly says, the last thing she wanted was to marry him. No offense. He says, none taken, and she says, and it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to her.

Carly asks if Drew is okay, but he says he doesn’t know what he is. She says, it just seems so unreal, and he says, it’s just that Sam survived so much that would have broken just about anybody else. Not her. She was just so strong and resilient and just fiercely loyal to her friends and her family. Carly says, especially her kids, and he says, Sam and Carly were a lot alike. She says, there was a time when she would have hated to hear that. She and Sam used to disagree a lot and they used to clash about everything. He says, especially Jason, and she says, always Jason. But even back when she hated Sam, she always respected her. Now, how she stepped up for Lulu… He says he knows. It’s just incredible. Carly says she’s always going to be so grateful that Sam agreed to be Lulu’s donor. Her cousin is alive because of Sam. He says, that’s who she was, just so generous and so courageous, and she says, fearless to a fault. He says, it just wasn’t supposed to end like this. She says, no, it wasn’t.

Jason says, Scout is right. Her mom is a hero. Because of her mom, Rocco’s mom will live. Scout asks why hers had to die, and he says he doesn’t know. Danny says, it sucks, pretty much summing the whole thing up, and Jason says he knows. It does. Scout asks if they can see her, but Jason says he’s sorry. He can’t take them to the hospital, and even if he could… Danny says, it’s not mom anymore, but she tells him, Uncle Jason said she was there. Jason says, her body is, but everything that makes her so special, that makes her Scout’s mom – her smile, her laugh, her hugs… Scout says, the way she said good morning when she came into her room? and Jason says, none of that is at the hospital. Scout asks, then where is it? Jason says, heaven. In our hearts. Her love is all around them. Just because somebody goes to heaven doesn’t mean that love stops. Her mom’s love will be with her forever. She says she doesn’t want mom to be dead, and Jason says he knows she doesn’t. He and Danny hug.

Kristina says, Molly is all about her brilliant solutions, and Molly says, they are brilliant, and practical. Outside, Alexis puts her key in the lock, and Molly says she got prepaid food delivery service and someone to clean the house. Two things that will help Sam out immensely. Alexis comes in, and Kristina says, okay. She can’t compete with that. Molly says, there it is. That big Kristina eyeroll, telling everyone that she’s always the victim. God forbid there should be an actual adult in the room. Kristina says, tell her what it’s like. What is it like being literally better than everyone else around her? Molly says, not everyone, and Kristina says, just her then. Molly tells her that she said it, and Kristina says, she thinks it every minute of every day… and Alexis says, stop. Please just stop.

Dante thanks Sam for saving his life. He thanks her for choosing him and for their beautiful family. He thanks her for saying yes to being his wife. He cries and says he just doesn’t know how he’s going to do this. He doesn’t know how he’s going to do this without her. He kisses her forehead, then her lips. He kisses her hand and says he loves her.

Holly says, by far the most fulfilling, and it was never more apparent than during her recent trip to Africa. It was a very difficult trip. And she kept thinking to herself, what is she doing here at this stage of her life? You see, there’s before and after. He says, before and after what? and she says, him. He defines her whole existence. He says, she’s giving him too much credit, but she says she’s not. Their marriage was unexpected, but navigating being his wife, being married to him, and then realizing he wasn’t just the man who was helping her, but the man she was falling deeply and desperately in love with. It was a revelation. All of it. And she wouldn’t trade that time for the world. He says, neither would he.

James says, if they don’t go now, they’re going to miss all the best candy. Can we go? Can we go? Can we go? Maxie says, zip it or she’s taking his lasso, and he sits down, pouting. Georgie comes out, dressed something like an anime character, and Maxie says, she looks great. Spinelli says he knows who she is and her costume is spot on. James asks if they can go now, and Maxie says, can somebody clue her in? Georgie says she put a lot of thought into it, and Maxie says she can tell. Georgie says, thanks for talking her into it, and Maxie says, she’s welcome, but what is she? Georgie says, not what. Who. She’s Zenon, Girl of the 21st Century.

In the chapel with Rocco, Laura cries and blesses herself. He tells her that he doesn’t know what to say, and she tells him that he doesn’t have to say anything. He says, isn’t that what a prayer is? but she says, a prayer can be whatever you want it to be. It can be a wish, a message, a feeling, whatever you have in your heart. He says he prayed for so long for his mom to be okay and those prayers were answered. She’s going to live. Laura says, yes, she is, but he says he didn’t want Sam to die to make that happen. Laura holds him as he cries.

Dante tells Sonny, it doesn’t feel real. He just can’t wrap his head around it. Sonny says he doesn’t know how you accept something like that, and Dante says he doesn’t know. He was just in there talking to her, and now he’ll never hold her again. He’ll never see her smile again. She’ll never roll her eyes at one of his stupid jokes again. Sonny says, all the little things, and Dante says, it was his fault, but Sonny says, don’t go there. Dante says, it was his fault and Sonny knows it, and Sonny says, how so? Dante says, Lulu needed a donor and Sam was that donor. Sam did it for him and Rocco. She did it for them. Now she’s dead because of it. He gets up and walks off.

Kristina asks, what’s going on? and Alexis says, come sit with her. Kristina says, just tell them, but Alexis says, come, please. They sit down, Alexis in the middle, and Kristina says, what is it? Alexis is scaring her. Molly says, yeah, what? and Alexis takes their hands. She says, their sister didn’t make it, and Kristina says, what? Alexis says, Sam is gone, and Kristina says, that’s insane. Why would she say that? Alexis says she’s sorry, but Kristina gets up and says, no. The surgery went well and the doctors all agreed. Alexis says she knows, and Kristina says, Sam’s part was the easy part. What does she mean? What happened? Alexis says, she had a heart attack, but Kristina says, that’s not true. Sam’s fine. Alexis says, Sam is gone. She’s so sorry, but Sam’s gone. Molly starts to cry, and Alexis puts an arm around her.

Holly says she had a home with Robert, and he says, she did. She says she never experienced feeling belonging like that before. That’s why she fell for him. He asks if that’s the only reason. He bets they could have had that again. She says, if only she hadn’t lied to him about Sasha? Admit it. He hates her now, doesn’t he? He says he could never hate her, but he’s not sure if he can ever forgive her.

Rocco tells Laura that he was jealous that Danny and Scout had their mom, that she could hug them and talk to them and help them with their homework. Laura says, that’s perfectly understandable, and he says he wishes she could have been his mom, doing all that stuff for him. Laura says, okay, so he felt a little envious from time to time, and he says he should have been happy for them, thankful that Sam was so great. Because she is… She was. Now he’ll never get the chance to tell her. Laura says, it’s okay.

Sonny tells Dante, none of this was his fault, but Dante says he wants to change it all. Sonny asks what he’d do differently, and Dante says, everything, but Sonny says he doesn’t believe that. Dante says he spent weeks at Lulu’s bedside, leaving Sam to pick up the pieces at home, neglecting the family that they built. Sonny says, his son’s mother was hanging by a thread. Of course (🍷) Lulu was a priority. Dante says he promised Rocco that they would get a donor and then he told Sam that he felt like he lied to Rocco by saying that to him. Sonny says, he did what any father would do, but Dante says, he doesn’t get it. How was she going to say no after that? Sonny asks if he means when Sam found out she was a match, and Dante says, yeah. With all the stress and pressure they were under, how was she going to then turn around and say no? Of course (🍷) she was going to do it. Sonny says, it doesn’t surprise him that Sam would say yes to being a donor. She would do anything for Dante and Rocco. Dante says he knows, and look where it got her, and Sonny says, here’s where he’s wrong. Sam didn’t do this because of him. She knew there was a chance a life would be saved and she was all in. That life just happened to be Lulu’s. Dante hugs Sonny.

Jason brings Danny and Scout to the Quartermaine’s, and Scout runs to Drew. He hugs her and she says, Lulu’s okay. Mommy’s not. He says he knows. He’s so sorry and he loves her so much. He’s here for her no matter what. He holds her, and Jason tells Danny that he’s here too. Danny hugs him, and Carly watches with tears in her eyes.

Molly asks how someone as healthy as Sam has a heart attack, but Alexis says she doesn’t know. They don’t know. She was with Sam, and she was talking about her engagement and then she was rushed out of the room. Kristina says, wait. What? Engagement? Dante proposed? Molly says, oh my God, and Alexis says she wishes they could have seen how happy Sam was. Both girls lean on their mother, and she holds them close.

On Monday, Holly asks if that means Robert is cutting her out of his life; Danny tells Carly that it’s his job to look out for Scout; Rocco says it’s his fault Sam died; and Dante says he doesn’t want to live without Sam.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

Willow tells Drew that she doesn’t want to hurt Michael more, and more secrets lead to more pain. Drew asks if she thinks telling him about the second kiss will help, but she says, it’s the right thing to do. No more secrets. Then she’ll stop being afraid and living in constant terror that her marriage is over. He says, Ned and Tracy only know about the 4th of July and he’s handled it. No more leverage. It’s done.

Sasha says she was thinking about what Michael said, that Drew is the most to blame, but she doesn’t know. He may be responsible for the kiss, but he’s not responsible for them ending up in this hotel room.

Chase joins Dante and Rocco at the Surf Lodge and says, Sam said yes? Dante wonders why everyone is acting surprised, and Chase says, Dante knows Sam is out of his league. They figured Sam knew too. He congratulates Dante and says, if he needs any advice or tips on getting married… he’ll give Dante Brook’s number. Whatever Sam wants, give it to her. Otherwise, stay out of the way. Dante says he can do that.

Alexis tells Jason that if Sam is having an allergic reaction or a seizure, the hospital is the best place to be. They know what they’re doing, and they’re prepared. They need to stay positive. It’s what Sam would do and what she’d want them to do. Sam has her whole life ahead of her. She has a fiancé and friends. She’s going to be fine. Lucas, Portia, and Elizabeth come out, and Alexis asks, how’s her daughter? Portia says she’s so sorry.

Alexis tells Portia, don’t say it, but Portia says she’s sorry. Sam didn’t make it. Jason asks, when she says… Lucas says, Sam is dead, but Alexis says, she can’t be. She was just with Sam, and she was fine. Nothing was wrong with her. She wanted to go home. Jason looks at Elizabeth, and Alexis says she watched them checking on Sam and double checking. She was pre-checked, and she was so healthy, she donated. This can’t be right. Lucas says he’s so sorry, and Alexis says, sorry? He tells her that her daughter is gone and he’s sorry? That’s wrong because she’s Sam’s mother and would know if she was gone. She would feel it. She goes to Sam’s room.

Drew says, if Willow tells Michael about the second kiss, he’ll start to question everything and will play into Ned’s hands. Willow says she doesn’t care about Ned, the Quartermaines, or whoever is blackmailing him. She cares about her marriage. He tells her that he’s not saying to lie. Just don’t volunteer new information that will hurt Michael more. She says, so lie by omission, and he says he doesn’t want to hurt Michael more. Despite his actions, Michael is his nephew, and he loves him too. Why cause more pain over something they both agree is over and done?

Michael says, Sasha is right. Drew didn’t pour the alcohol down their throats or drive them here and get a room. She says, that’s all on them, but he says he’s here as a result of Drew’s actions. What about her? How did she wind up here? She says she was hurting and needed someone she trusted, and he says, they were both betrayed be people they love. She says, and they both lost something life changing, and he says he reached out to something safe and familiar. She says her too. No one ever has to know about this. He says, agreed.

Lucas tells Jason, they did everything they could to save Sam, and jets. Jason asks Elizabeth to tell him what happened.

Alexis goes into Sam’s room and walks to the bed. She kisses Sam’s forehead and says, she’s so cold. She’ll get a blanket. Portia comes in, and Alexis asks if Portia can get a blanket for her daughter. She just had surgery and she’s cold. She needs another blanket. Portia tries to speak, but Alexis says, get a blanket. Please. Portia says, of course (🍷), and leaves. Alexis says she doesn’t know why there’s no blanket in here, and Portia comes back with the blanket. Alexis takes it from her and says she just wants to talk to her daughter. Portia says, of course (🍷). Take all the time she needs. She leaves and Alexis puts the blanket on Sam, but says, she’s still cold. She gets in the bed and holds Sam. She says, this is all Sam needs (and rips my heart of my chest).

Sasha says, if she had to run into anyone after her life blew apart, she’s glad it was him, and Michael says he’ll let her know when he decides. She leaves and he follows.

Chase says he’s happy for Dante. He deserves good things. Dante says, Sam does, and Chase says, she loves Dante so much. They have a great life. So good, he never thought they’d go through the hassle of being married. Dante says, they never needed to. They did all the married couple things. Chase asks, what changed? and Dante says he did. He woke up and realized he wanted Sam to be his wife.

Elizabeth says, it was cardiac arrest, and Jason asks, how? Wouldn’t it show up in her pre-op tests? Elizabeth says, they don’t know what caused it, but they will, and Jason tells her, they said Sam was fine. Elizabeth says, all the labs and tests showed her coming through the surgery with flying colors, and Jason says, and now she’s dead?

Alexis says, when Sam was born, she had a lot of hair. The other babies didn’t. And it smelled – she inhales Sam’s hair – so good. She didn’t get to have Sam long, but she looked into those beautiful, brown, soulful eyes and wondered what she could have possibly done to make such a miracle. She was so young and scared. Sam was crying, and when she sang, Sam stopped crying, then smiled. She was lucky. Life gave Sam to her twice. Now it’s taking her back. You can’t just take a miracle back. Bring her back. She starts to cry and begs, please, please, please.

Alexis gets out of the bed, looks heavenward, and cries. She says, why her and not anybody else? You should have taken me. That’s the way it’s supposed to be. Parents are not supposed to bury their children, especially one so good. The only reason she was here is because she was helping someone else. She was saving another mother’s daughter and for that you took her? I hate you.

Drew goes to the stables and tells Cody that he hasn’t come to finish what they started. He’s not pressing charges or firing Cody. Cody asks what he can do for Drew. Would he like a tour of the stables? Would he like to pet Comet? He has to warn Drew, Comet is in a bit of a mood. Drew wonders if it’s contagious, and Cody asks what he wants. Drew says he wants Cody to stand down and stop causing damage, but Cody says, that’s on Drew. He won’t stop kissing his nephew’s wife and sleeping with her mother. Those are the literal facts. The respect Drew is showing to him and Willow is inspirational. Drew says, Cody doesn’t understand, but Cody says he understands. He’s just not buying what Drew is selling. He sees Drew for who he is. He loves the hero worship from his adoring fans and would-be constituents. He needs to come down to earth with the rest of them. Drew says he’s never been anywhere else. Obviously, something is going on. Cody can take it out on him, but he’s here to ask Cody to leave Willow out of it. She’s a good person and doesn’t deserve this.

Michael goes home, and Willow says she was worried about him. He says he needed to think and rented a hotel room. She says she missed him. All she wanted was for him to come home and to tell him how sorry she is and explain everything. He asks if there’s more to explain.

Jason tells Elizabeth that he can’t wrap his head around it. He’s supposed to meet Danny and Scout at Bobbie’s. How can he tell them that they’re mom is gone? Elizabeth says, be honest. Keep it simple. They’ll probably have a lot of questions. It’s okay if he doesn’t have all the answers. He says he doesn’t have any answers, and she says, he can do this. Do it for Sam.

Alexis says she had to leave the hospital and didn’t have any say. Now that she has a say, she doesn’t want to. For years, she had Sam locked away in her heart. She knew Sam would find her one day, and then there Sam was in her life. She knows if she leaves the room, Sam will be gone, and she can’t live in a world without her in it. So she’s telling Sam that she loves her. She hopes Sam’s heard it when she’s said it. She loves Sam. She cries and kisses Sam’s forehead.

Alexis comes out and goes to Jason. She says she needs to tell Kristina and Molly and the kids, and he says he’ll tell Danny and Scout. If it’s all right with her, he’d like to say goodbye. She nods, and he goes into Sam’s room. Elizabeth hugs Alexis and she cries.

Willow says she came to tell him what happened… and Michael says, Drew beat her to it. She says, that’s not how she wanted it. She wanted to talk when it was just them. He says, here we are. Explain how an uncle he loved and trusted took advantage of her and kissed her. She says, it wasn’t like that, and he says, then what was it like? She says, it was the 4th of July, and Drew had just made his congressional announcement. Everyone was happy. They’d had a couple of drinks and the fireworks started. They got caught up in the excitement and in one stupid moment of celebration, they kissed. Michael asks if Drew kissed her.

Jason goes into Sam’s room and says, he knew she was gone when he saw her mother’s face. He knew it when Lucas said it. He heard Lucas, but it wasn’t real. He goes to her bed and says, it wasn’t real until now… but she’s not here. She left them.

Drew says, expose him and Cody will expose Willow, and Cody says, how convenient. Drew seems to get away with everything, hiding behind Willow. Drew says he thought Cody cared about Willow, and Cody says he does. Drew says, they have that in common. He’s willing to pay. How much for Cody to keep his mouth shut? Cody asks if Drew thinks he can buy him off. Guys like him think money solves everything. Drew says, it solves some things, and Cody says, Drew is right. Why shouldn’t he get something? Drew asks, how much? and Cody says, a hundred thousand, but Drew says he was thinking fifty thousand. Do they have a deal? (I was thinking 6 million for Serenity. Isn’t Drew a skabillionaire? Apparently, he’s also a cheapskate.)

Willow says, it was a blur. She can’t remember much, but it was one isolated incident. She suggests they not make a bigger deal about it than it is. Drew loves Michael. Michael says he would have believed that until yesterday, and Willow says, they made a stupid mistake, and it shouldn’t be blown out of proportion. Michael asks if that’s it. If there’s anything else, now’s the time to tell him. Willow says, only one thing. She loves him. Please tell her that he believes that.

Jason says he doesn’t make a lot of plans. At least not long-term ones. He doesn’t believe in them. He’s seen things change so fast. But he believed in long term plans for her. She was supposed to watch Danny grow up and have kids. He assumed she’d live a long life. She was brave and ready for new adventures. She liked to kick it up a notch, and he loved that about her. He loved her courage and compassion, even her stubbornness. He loved that she wasn’t a great cook, but kept trying. She never quit. He loved the look on her face when she thought she’d make him laugh… or smile. It was like a big accomplishment, but it wasn’t. Because whenever he really looked at her, he would smile. He loves looking at Danny and seeing some of her looking back. He loves so much about her.

Elizabeth asks if Alexis would like her to call someone, and Alexis says, call Portia. She wants answers about what happened to her daughter.

Michael says, Willow told him that she loved him, and she says she does, so much. He says, they all make mistakes. He’s made his fair share and she’s forgiven him. She says, they’ve loved each other through so much, she prays he can forgive her for one moment of stupidity, and he say he believes they can get past this. He agrees that one kiss isn’t worth losing everything they have. One kiss is not worth blowing their family apart. She says she loves him so much. Not a day goes by that she’s not incredibly grateful for their family. He says, she’s an amazing mother, and she says she wants to be a great wife too. Their marriage means so much. He says he’s happy everything is out in the open, and she says she should have never done anything else.  He says, they can put it behind them, and she says, that’s all she wants. She wants to be his safe place. They kiss, and he asks how long the kids will be gone. She says, long enough, and they get busy.

Drew says, there’s $50,000 in Cody’s account, and Cody says, Drew paid for his silence. The way Drew lives his life, he won’t be the last. Drew says he asked around about Cody, and he’s not one to throw stones, and Cody says he has the unique ability to know what he’s seeing when he looks at Drew. He’s thinking he’s got away with something and maybe he did… this time. Guys like him end up tripping over their own skis and he can’t wait to watch. Drew suggests Cody buy himself something nice. It might put him in a better mood. (I don’t even know what to say to that.)

Elizabeth tells Lucas that she’s so sorry. She knows how much Sam meant to him. He did everything he could. He asks if she’s sure about that, and she says she was there with him. She watched him do everything possible. He says, then why is his sister dead?

Alexis says, Portia told her that the surgery was a success, and her daughter would be fine. She told her daughter that she just needed to recuperate for a week, that it was standard procedure. Portia says, that’s usually true, and Alexis asks why her daughter is dead. Portia says, they’re doing an investigation… and Alexis says, don’t talk to her like a doctor. Talk to her like a mother with a daughter. When Sam died, what happened? Portia says, as mother to mother, the answer is the same. She’s so sorry. Alexis says, then by all means investigate. She wants answers, but in the end, it won’t matter. Her daughter is dead. She turns around and Danny and Dante are there.

Jason says he remembers when Sam took off to Florida. When they first met, they couldn’t stand each other. He’s not sure why he went after her, but he found her in a dive bar, A big storm rolled in and they got stranded. He told her to get some sleep, and she said she slept better when he was around. He slept better when she was around too. He never told her, and he should have. There are so many things he should have told her. So many moments he could only share with her. We flash back to Sam and Jason meeting when we were all babies and go down Memory Lane. Sam getting pregnant and losing the baby. Slow dancing at the Chinese restaurant (The Lucky Buddha or something like that), having fun, having sex, loving each other, and getting married. He remembers saving her, watching fireworks together, and escaping an explosion together. He says he loves her and always will. With the saddest face I have ever seen, he says he remembers it all. He’ll never forget. He promises. He kisses her forehead and says goodbye. He leaves and cries outside the room.

Tomorrow, Laura wonders if it’s Lulu; Kristina asks Molly what’s that supposed to mean; Drew tells Carly, it wasn’t supposed to end like this; and Dante tells Sonny that it was his fault.

🍊 A Lemon Among Oranges…

Ryan asked Jenn to marry him and she showed off her giant rock. She invited the group to their engagement party, and the women all decided to wear tacky vintage 80s bridesmaid’s dresses, with Jenn tackily dressed as the bride of course.

In Gina’s interview, she explained that Travis’s ex-wife was toxic and aggressive, and she couldn’t have that chaos around her kids. She suggested she and Travis go to therapy, since she needed to learn how to deal with it, and told him, if they were meant to be, they’d survive it.

RHOC OGs Vicki and Jo De La Rosa were at the party, and the dresses were spot on 80s tacky, and I loved them. In Gina’s interview, she said Tamra didn’t just burn bridges, but burned down the whole town. It was narcissistic behavior. Tell us something we don’t know. In Jenn’s interview, she said she knew when Shannon apologized, she was sincere and made an effort to improve, but Tamra, not so much. She was tired of circling the same drains with Tamra all the time. Not beating around any bushes, Vicki said, Tamra is who she is. She was classless with an ego the size of the state of California.

At the party, Shannon had enough of Tamra picking at her and decided she was done. On her way out the door, she had the weirdest exchange with Katie’s husband where he told her maybe it was time she got to stepping. Johnny J. – the guy who didn’t want to be on the show, yet we’ve seen every five minutes this season – also made an appearance at the party. I’m not sure if this is what caused Shannon to double back, but suddenly there she was, throwing her bouquet, which Gina caught. In Johnny J.’s interview, he said he didn’t want people believing the lies being told about him.

Since it was the finale, we saw text about what the women are up to now, but it seemed like not much had changed. Possibly the most boring updates in Housewives’ history.

But wait. There’s more. Three weeks later. We saw headlines about Ryan being accused of laundering money, and Tamra bragging that she was right. Ryan told Jenn, life throws things at you that you can’t control. That’s why it’s called life. What? I could understand if we called life target, but that made no sense whatsoever. To what I’m sure was Tamra’s dismay, we saw that Ryan had been absolved of any wrongdoing and had full immunity. However, his business partner Matt was facing up to 18 years in prison. Ryan had insisted he’d just gone along for the ride on Matt’s trips, and why not? It’s not like Matt was a hitman and, private jets, Bahamas, drinks with umbrellas in them. In their interviews and collectively, everyone called Jenn a dumbass, but that’s not stopping her from planning a wedding for 2025.

Next time, The Reunion. Brrr…

And while we’re on the subject.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

Jason beings Scout and Danny to the hospital. Scout wants to show Sam her costume and Danny just wants to see her.

Alexis brings Sam some candy, and Sam asks her to remind Dante to get some more for the trick-or-treaters. Alexis says, both she and Dante bought some, and now they have 60 pounds of it. She wants to know Sam’s secret. She can put herself together in a minute or sixty, but Sam looks so good after surgery. She’s glowing.

Trina stops by Portia’s office and says she’s heading to school. Portia asks how it is being back, and Trina asks if the rumors are true that Heather left Port Charles. Portia says, yes, and Trina wonders if Portia had something to do with it.

On the phone, Willow says, Michael hasn’t come home and she’s worried. Call her back. There’s a knock at the door and it’s creeper Drew. She asks why he would come here.

Sasha sits up in bed and remembers being at the bar. She looks next to her, and Michael rolls over. (Rut-roh.)

Cody is sleeping on Maxie’s couch, and cowboy James holds his finger under Cody’s nose. Cody opens his eyes and asks what James is doing, and James says, checking to see if he’s breathing. Cody says, is he? and James says, so far. Cody says, too bad, but James says, breathing is supposed to be good thing. Cody says, tell that to his head, and James says, Cody should have told him that they were having a sleepover. Cody says, it wasn’t exactly a planned thing, and James says he has gummi worms in his holster. He asks if Cody wants one and Cody says, no. (I can feel his stomach lurch.) James asks what he’s going as for Halloween, when Maxie walks in. She says, Cody looks like he’s going as someone who made a big mistake last night. (That’s actually pretty funny.)

Sasha flashes back to the bar and Michael ordering tequila. She asks what he’s doing here, and he says, celebrating. He finally knows the truth. He tells the bartender, keep them coming. She remembers them making out and then moving to the bed. Michael wakes up and sees her.

Drew says he’s sorry to drop in, but he needs to apologize. Willow says she doesn’t want his apology. Just go. If Michael finds them together, it’s the last thing she needs. Drew asks if she’s heard from him, but she says, no. He asks if she wants him to call… and she says, no. Stay away from her and Michael. Her marriage can’t take any more of his help. He says he understands and asks if she was about to tell Michael when she showed up at the main house. She says she thought it was better if Michael heard it from her. Nina told her everything.

Portia says she had nothing to do with Heather leaving. Now they can refocus their lives again. Trina says she has nothing to report and asks about Marshall, but Portia wants to hear everything about school.

At the Surf Lodge, Dante asks if Rocco is okay, but he says he just wants to see his mom. Dante says, she’s still recovering and will be in the ICU for a while. They’ll see her when she’s moved, but there’s something he wants to talk to Rocco about first.

Sam says she heard Lulu’s surgery went well, and Alexis says, her transplant prognosis is good. Sam says, that’s a relief, and Alexis says, it’s a relief to see Sam smiling. Sam says, considering she’s fine and Lulu has hope, it’s cause for celebration, and Alexis says, their family is long overdue. Sam says she hopes Alexis means that… She shows Alexis the ring and says, Dante proposed. Alexis says, it’s about time, and Sam says she knows Alexis isn’t a big advocate of marriage. Alexis says her marriages were dumpster fires. Sam’s will be better. They hug.

Trina says she loves art history, but her project partner has made no appearance. She doesn’t want to say how good things are or she’ll jinx it, but Portia says, that won’t happen. What about her missing partner? Trina says she tried to contact them, but if she doesn’t hear from them soon, she’s going to tell the TA to get her a different partner. Portia says, it’s Trina’s turn to have some good times, and Trina says she’s going to make it happen for herself. She’s got to get going. She’ll see Portia later.

James asks Cody what mistake he made, when a car horn blows outside. Maxie says, that’s Billy’s mom, and James says, if Cody changes his mind about not going trick-or-treating, go as a cowboy, so they’ll match. He and Cody fist bump, and Cody is like, ow. James leaves, and Maxie asks how Cody’s hangover is feeling.

Sasha and Michael are both in robes, so I assume they’re at a hotel. He asks if she’s okay, and she says she has a hangover from hell and is totally mortified. Otherwise, she’s okay. Him? He says, the same, and asks what they had to drink. She says, everything, and he says, that wasn’t his plan. He doesn’t think he had a plan. She says, neither did she. She was angry and hurting, and the alcohol did nothing to improve her judgement. He says he was in the same place. What happened… Neither of them planned it. They’re both at fault. Sasha says she’d agree, but it hurts to nod her head, and Michael says his hair hurts. She says, there’s something she didn’t tell him. When he told her about Willow kissing Drew, she already knew. She saw them kissing on the 4th of July. She walked into the solarium, but they didn’t see her, and she didn’t say anything. She didn’t know what to say or do. It was the last thing she expected. He says, it was the last thing he expected to hear, and she says, Willow is her friend, but she and Michael have history. He’s always been kind to her and she should have told him. He says she was just trying to be loyal to both of them. He understands and he’s not mad. She says, him being mad wouldn’t be the straw that broke the camel’s back, but it would be the straw that killed her. He says, it’s not on her. Willow and Drew are the ones who put them in this position.

Scout tells Jason that she brought Sam a grilled cheese because she likes them, and Olivia said she was a hero. Jason says, she’s one of the bravest people he knows, and they go into the elevator.

Alexis says, when first she first noticed Sam and Dante together, she thought they were a perfect match. The longer they were together, Sam smiled more. She was more herself than with anyone else. Sam says, that’s how it felt from the beginning. They each had a piece of a life, but not the whole thing. It works. Alexis says, they made it work. They committed to building a life, and they took that life, and wrapped it around their families. Sam says she never thought it could be this way, and Alexis says, Sam showed her what a healthy relationship looks like. She wasn’t able to give her girls that kind of family, but Sam is giving it to hers. What she just did for Dante and Rocco is the best gift ever. There’s no demonstration of love that’s greater. Sam says she loves Dante, and Alexis says she loves Sam, and kisses her hand.

Maxie tells Cody, don’t throw up on the rug. They had a dog… Cody says, don’t finish that story. He’s sorry he crashed here, but Mac insisted because Felicia swapped out her couch for a love seat. Maxie says, if it wasn’t an election year, she would have heard about it. She knew it would come back to bite her. Cody asks if she thinks a pint-sized cowboy with gummi worm breath will be punishment enough, and Maxie says she thought Mac talked some sense into him.

Sasha says she doesn’t blame Michael for being angry, but Willow felt terrible and was beating herself up. Michael says he’s glad Willow regrets kissing Drew, but he hates that she’s beating herself up over it. It just happened, right? Sasha says, after Willow confided in her about the second kiss… Michael says, there was a second kiss? and Sasha says she thought he knew.

Drew says, Nina showed up and told Willow everything? and Willow says, yes. He asks what she said, and she says, Cody was blabbing about how Drew kissed his nephew’s wife. Drew says he’s sorry, but she says she’s not blaming him. Drew says, Cody was drinking like it was his job, and Willow tells him that Nina said he was very drunk and punched Drew. Then he said what he said. Drew says, that sums it up, and she says she didn’t want Michael to find out from a stranger or a news report. She wanted to tell him. She thought she could make him understand. Drew says, and he decided to do it himself, and she says, after all the times he told her not to, he went ahead did it anyway. (I hope the bloom is finally off that rose for her.)

Dante tells Rocco that Sam said yes, she’ll marry him. They want to make their family official. Rocco seems surprised. Rocco says he is, and Dante asks if he’s surprised that she said yes, but Rocco says he’s surprised Dante asked. Dante says, why? Clearly, it’s something. What’s going on? He doesn’t like them being married? Rocco says, what about mom?

There’s a beeping alarm, and Jason notices Portia running toward Sam’s room. He sees Alexis running out and she looks at him. She shakes her head.

Jason tells Danny that he needs to take his sister to Bobbie’s. Eat something and wait there for him. Danny asks, what’s going on? but Jason says, not right now. Scout says she wants to see mom, and Danny says, he was thinking that mom loves the cookies at Bobbie’s. They could get a bunch for her as a surprise. They leave, and Jason asks Alexis, what happened? She say she doesn’t know.

Elizabeth says, Sam isn’t responsive and has no pulse. She’s not breathing. Lucas says, code blue and he wants a crash cart. He wonders where this is coming from. Her vitals were normal. He asks if it could be internal bleeding, and Portia says, a possible embolism. She does chest compression, and he asks for the paddles. He uses them on Sam, but there’s no response. He does it again.

Maxie tosses a bag of ice to Cody, and he says, there’s some stuff she should know before she gives her speech. She says she knows more than he and Sasha would like, and he says, she knows they’re cousins? She says, first cousins, and he asks if it was published in The Invader.  She says, it’s not known publicly, but her mom is friends with Sasha’s mom. Sasha said her mom was dead, so Maxie was surprised when Holly told her mother and Sasha confirmed it. Cody asks how Sasha is, and Maxie says, hurt and confused, to be expected. He says, that makes two of them, and she asks what he remembers. He says he was drinking… She says, not at all responsibly, and he says he punched that smarmy son of a bitch Drew Cain in his smug little face. Maxie says, he and Sasha got horrible news, and they were both in a bad place, but she doesn’t understand. Why Drew?

Willow says she wanted to be honest from the beginning, but Drew said not to make it a bigger deal. Then he blindsided her. Why? Why blow up her life? Drew says he didn’t have a choice. Ned and Tracy were going to blackmail him. She says she can’t believe they knew. She’s going to be sick. Drew says, the told him that they’d tell Michael everything unless he went along with their demands. It would have only escalated until someday it blew up anyway. In the moment, he had no other call. He still doesn’t. She says, he’s probably right, and he says, she’s got to believe him. If he’d had a second to warn her, he would have. He’s sorry. She says, none of that matters. All she cares about is her family. She wants Michael to come home. She can tell him one truth; she loves him and their family. And she’s going to do what it takes to earn his forgiveness. There’s only one person who could have told Cody. Sasha. She can’t believe Sasha did that to her. (Oh come on. Like telling an SO a secret you’re keeping is unheard of.)

Michael asks what Sasha means, but she says, forget it. He says, tell him what she knows, and she says, the night McConkey died, Drew was torn up, and he and Willow kissed again. Michael asks if there were any other times, but she says, no. Willow loves him and she’s hating herself. He says, maybe she should. He can wrap his head around one kiss. One kiss is a mistake. The second time is not an accident. They made a choice.

Cody says, Drew is sleeping with Nina and kissing Willow, and Maxie asks how he knows. He asks how she knew, and she says, look at this face. People tell her things, but she doesn’t drink and tell. He says he feels bad about his big mouth, but not the punch, and she says she’s not being judgy, but why Drew? Cody says he’s trying to be a good guy, but look at what doing the right thing has gotten him. She says she’s sorry about Sasha.

Sasha tells Michael, emotions were high, and Drew and Willow got caught up in the moment. She thinks they know something about that. She doesn’t like herself right now. She loves Willow and broke her confidence and slept with her husband. Michael says, there’s enough blame to go around, but the person at fault the most is Drew. (Agreed.)

Willow says, she confided in Sasha, and Sasha blabbed (WOTD) to Cody, but Drew says, she can take Cody off her worry list. He’ll handle Cody. Willow says, Michael will be home soon and she’s going to tell him everything, including about the second kiss. It’s the only way they can move forward. Drew says, Michael is already hurt. Telling Michael about her feelings for him will only hurt him more. (Yeah. We see how well that advice worked out the first time.)

Cody tells Maxie, Drew is not a good guy. Nobody knows he’s sleazing around with his nephew’s wife and sleeping with her mom. He thinks he’s better than everybody else, but he’s not. He’s a sleaze hiding behind a nice haircut and fancy coats and suits, and he’s getting rewarded for it. He wanted to pull Drew down from the pedestal he’s put himself on and throw him down in the gutter where he belongs. Maxie says, so he had his big moment and lashed out. Where did that get him? He says, a night on her couch, and she says, he could have wound up in jail. He says, thanks to Mac, that didn’t happen, and she says she’s sorry. It’s a horrible thing, but she hopes he realizes that he has a family who can help him through it and will. Things are going to get better. Stay away from Drew. He says he plans to, and she says, otherwise, he’ll deal with her. He asks if this is what having a sister is like, and she says, if you’re lucky.

Lucas calls for the paddles again, and tries to revive Sam, but she’s still unresponsive. (These scenes are actually a little stressful to watch, they’re so intense.)

Dante asks if Rocco remembers what it was like before Sam, and Rocco says, they were sad all the time. Dante says, they were barely making it through the day. It’s like they were sleepwalking. Then Sam showed up and it got better. It was like they woke up. Rocco says, it was easier to move, and Dante says, they weren’t stuck anymore. Rocco says, Sam unstuck them, and Dante says, they did it together, but Sam made it possible.

Lucas says he won’t quit, and Portia says, she’s in AFib. Lucas tells Sam not to quit on him now.

Alexis asks a nurse if she can tell her what’s going on. She’s Sam’s mother. The nurse says, her medical team is doing what they can, and they’ll update Alexis as soon as they can. She leaves, and Alexis tells Jason that she doesn’t understand.  She was just with Sam. Dante had proposed, and Sam showed her the ring. They were happy and laughing. She doesn’t know what happened.

Lucas keeps trying and tells Portia to resume compression. Portia keeps trying, but her face says, it’s futile.

Alexis tells Jason, Sam was fine one second – happy about her future – and the next, her face went completely white, and she couldn’t breathe. She was confused and Alexis didn’t know what to do. She doesn’t understand. She’s scared

Dante says, Sam, Danny, and Scout were a package deal, and Rocco says, it took some getting used to. Danny is mostly a pain. Dante says, siblings are pains, but we love them, and Rocco says, most of the time, they’re great. Dante says, family is great. And Sam is the one who gave them their family again.

Sam flatlines, and Portia says, it’s time. Lucas says, no. She’s still here. Go again. The paddles… I said, charge. Portia keeps up the chest compression and looks at Elizabeth.

Alexis says she called Sam’s name, but she didn’t answer. Alarms went off and she was pushed out while they rushed in. Her girl is in there.

Scout wonders where Jason is. It’s almost time for trick-or-treating. Danny says he’ll take her. He knows the houses where the best candy is. She says, mom loves Halloween candy… Grandma looked weird. He says, not really, but Scout says, she did to her. He says, she’s just tired. She spent the entire night at the hospital. She asks if he thinks mom will have a scar, and he says, probably. A scar is cool. She says, mom is cool. She’s a hero. He says, she is.

Portia says, the patient is still in asystole, but Lucas says he can do this. Portia says, she’s been in asystole for 30 minutes. She’s gone. Lucas gathers himself and says, time of death, 5:48 pm. The monitor is shut off.

Tomorrow, Elizabeth tells Jason, do it for Sam; Drew asks Cody if they have a deal; Michael asks Willow if there’s anything else; and Sasha says, no one has to know about this.

⚖️ There Is No Defense…

Seriously? There’s a big difference between nobody’s perfect and being a total creeper.

🧂 Worth Their Salt…

The almost fistfight between Whitney and Lisa’s husbands was shut down before it got to the RHONJ Battle of the Joes level. While I give kudos to Justin for defending his wife, dumping a full bottle of Lisa’s tequila down the drain when he got home was a little juvenile. For one thing, Lisa wasn’t there, so the point is moot. All he did was create the hassle of getting more tequila. I’d say good riddance to it, but apparently, they like it. Justin and John met later and right away John asked if they should order appetizers. Now that’s the way to squash beef. Eat some smashed potatoes with it.

I like Bronwyn more every episode. One of the fun things she likes to do is pick her husband up from the airport wearing different costumes. Get that sexy nurse out of your head, because I mean things like sharks and unicorns. And mushrooms. More like mascot costumes. He acted longsuffering about it, but he seems to be a good sport, and I can see why she married him.

Heather went to Bronwyn’s fantabulous house, where Bronwyn met her at the door wearing fantabulous earrings. An errant dog poop found inside prompted Heather to say in her interview that she had to watch her step. Who among us owners of little dogs has not found a wayward poopie? And Bronwyn’s house is so massive, it’s a wonder she can find her own bathroom. Bronwyn was honest in saying she’d invited Heather because she was planning a group trip and didn’t know where their friendship was at. As usual, Heather took offense and denied any responsibility in their rift. IMO, Heather lost any shred of authenticity along with the weight. In Angie’s interview, she’d said she’d known Heather since they were kids. Heather had always wanted to sit at the cool kids’ table, still did, and would do anything to sit there. I’ve never heard a more accurate description.

October 29, 2024 – Michael Gets a Double Whammy, Temping, It’s Time, A New York Minute, My Watch, Slammed, Knight Guide, Two Holidays In One, Transformed, Costumed, Keep Them Safe & Cat

Standard

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

Dressed as Sherlock Holmes, Wiley tells Temp Michael (see below), the game is a-foot.

Laura hugs Aiden, who asks if there’s any word on Lulu, but Laura says she’s still in surgery. Elizabeth joins them and says, it’s going well. Aiden asks if he can get Laura anything, but she says, seeing him is enough.

Sam wakes up, and Dante says, welcome back. Lucas said she was a five-star patient. She did great. She asks, how’s Lulu? and he says, she’s going to save Lulu’s life.

Holly says she’s the only mother Sasha’s got. Sasha needs her more than she thinks.

On the phone, Tracy says, no comment. She tells Ned to block the last five callers, and he asks if it was a reporter. She says, they want to know about Drew’s campaign, and Lulu is in surgery. Every time the phone rings, her heart lurches. Ned says, it won’t be a problem much longer.

Cody tells Drew that they need to talk, and Drew tells the other Navy SEAL that he’s sorry. He’ll just be a second. He suggests he and Cody move to another spot, but Cody says he’s fine where he is. Drew says, Cody seems a little drunk, but Cody says, nope. Drew says, he looks like he needs some air, and Cody asks who Drew is to tell him what he needs. He calls Drew a smug bastard and punches him in the face. He says, Drew’s been making out with his nephew’s wife while he’s banging her mother. Drew punches Cody, and Nina tells the SEAL to call the police. At the bar, Elaine films what’s going on.

Lucky asks Laura if there’s any news, and she says, Sam is out of surgery. It went well. Lulu’s surgery is still in progress. Lucky says, she’s in good hands, and Elizabeth says she and Aiden are going home. Laura says she’ll call if she hears anything, and they leave. Laura says, a lot of people have come to see her, but she’s happy to spend time with Lucky. He wonders if she’s not going to ask where he’s been, and she says, if he wants her to know, he’ll tell her. He says he spent the day at the federal building jumping through bureaucratic hoops to get an emergency passport. She asks if he’s planning on using it.

Michael asks, what made Wiley think of Sherlock Holmes? and Willow says, says, he’s been reading books about kid detectives. She told him about the OG, Sherlock, and they watched some old movies. He was hooked. Wiley gives Michael a Watson hat, and Michael asks what gives Wiley the impression he’d sign on as his sidekick. Wiley says, elementary, my dear Watson.

Sasha says, that time is long gone, and she’s not talking about her childhood. She thought Holly would show up when her baby died or when her husband was murdered. Holly says she found out long after it happened. She was devastated for Sasha. Sasha says, her sympathy card must have gotten lost in the mail, but Holly says she was respecting Sasha’s wishes and stayed away. Sasha says, since when has Holly cared about what she wanted? She stayed away because she couldn’t be bothered. Her mother-in-law stole all her money and put her in an asylum where she nearly lost her mind. She would have welcomed help, even from Holly, but she was nowhere to be found. So this is way too little way too late.

Drew says, Cody is drunk, and Cody says, Drew’s a cheating bastard. Drew says he doesn’t know where Cody is getting this, and Cody asks how Nina is okay with Drew messing with her daughter to placate his massive ego. Dex comes in with another officer and says, someone complained about an assault. The bartender says, this guy tried to attack Mr. Quartermaine, and Dex asks Cody to come with him to the station. Don’t make it worse. Cody says, fine, but this isn’t over. He leaves with the other officer, and Drew tells Dex that Cody had too much to drink. He’s not going to press charges. Dex leaves and Nina says, that’s not what she meant when she said, get down and dirty. Drew thanks her for her suggestion. It’s time for damage control. He tells the bartender, a round for the house on him, and everyone cheers. Elaine quietly leaves.

Tracy asks why Ned thinks Drew’s campaign is going to tank, and he says he has a hunch that things are not as they seem. His phone dings, and Ned says, a video. They can watch together. He shows her the bar fight, and she says, tell her this is real. He says he hired a P.I. after learning some incriminating evidence. She asks, from whom? and he says, an unusual credible source. He had Drew followed to get confirmation. She says, he’s a genius. They have the ammunition and now they need to figure out how best to use it.

Lucky looks at the blank passport and says, it’s like the last decade never happened. Laura says, there’s so much she doesn’t know about his life. What’s he been up to all this time? How did he meet Dr. Gannon? He says, they were in the same refugee camp. He was security and Isaiah was with an international medical team. He could tell Isaiah was a good doctor and couldn’t turn down a seat at a poker table. Isaiah even beat him a couple of times. She asks if Lucky let him, but Lucky says, Isaiah is pretty good at everything he does. Eventually, the camp staff was full, so they decided to move on to where the need was greater, and it became a pattern looking for the next challenge, while at the same time living in the moment. She asks if that’s his way of telling her that he and Isaiah got through dangerous situations together, and he says, maybe. She says, they’re both very brave, and he says he could say that about Isaiah, but for him, he thinks he’s just been running.

Sasha says, when she got committed, Cody rescued her, and Holly says, thank God. Sasha says, when she got out, she was still broken, and Holly says she’s sorry. Sasha says, Cody believed in her and put her back together. He’s the reason she started believing in herself again and trusting again and opening her heart again. Holly says, she’s grateful and truly wishes they could stay together, and Sasha says, but they can’t.

Dex brings Cody to the interrogation room and says he’ll get Cody some coffee, but Cody says, just throw him in a cell. Dex says, Drew’s not pressing charges, and Cody says, if Dex knew the whole story, he’d think Drew deserved it. Dex says he thinks the bar owner would disagree, and Cody says, it will probably be brushed under the rug like the fat cats do. Just put him in the drunk tank and let him sleep it off. He doesn’t need to talk to anybody else. Mac walks in and says, not even his dad? He heard Cody had quite a night.

The bartender tells Drew, that guy was drunk and out of line. He’s glad Drew put him in his place. He’s a class act and Drew’s got his vote. He goes back to the bar, and Nina says, it’s just a matter of time before Michael finds out. Even if he dismisses it as gossip, it’s bad. It could ruin his relationship with Willow. Drew says, Cody will be contained until he sobers up. When he sees Drew didn’t press charges, maybe he’ll be more cooperative. He’ll settle Cody’s tab and with any luck, that will be the end of it.

Tracy says, remind her to give Cody a raise, and Ned says he hates bringing negative attention to the family. Tracy says, Drew did that, and Ned says he thought Tracy approved of Drew being a Quartermaine. She says she thought Alan should have one child to carry on his name, but Drew’s not worthy. He deserves what he gets. Ned says, when he shows this to Drew, he’ll sign over his shares to yours truly, and Tracy asks, why not rid them of Drew once and for all? He asks, how? and she says, tell Michael everything.

Dante tells Sam that Lulu is still in surgery, but they’ll let him know when she’s in recovery. Sam asks if he’s seen Lucas, and he says, Lucas told him that her prognosis is excellent. She can come home next week. She says, he has to make sure the kids are organized and don’t forget to pick up the cupcakes for Scout’s fall bake sale. Dante says, she left notes all over. He’s got it. There is one thing he’d like to ask her… She says, Scout likes the cupcakes from Eckerd’s, but he says, it’s not that. He takes out a ring and asks if she’ll marry him.

Mac says he’ll take it from here, and Dex leaves. Cody says he had one too many, and Mac says, one? Cody says he lost count and he’s as drunk as a skunk, but Drew had it coming. Mac says he doesn’t want to know why Cody did what he did, but he wants to talk about why Cody was tossing them back in the first place. Cody says, he knows, and Mac says, he does. Let’s talk about Sasha.

Holly says, Sasha deserved a better mother. She didn’t do the hard things. Sasha says, she didn’t do anything, but Holly says she always loved Sasha. She wasn’t cut out to be a mother. Sasha says, it was easier to leave her with Nona. Nona loved her, and for a long time, she was the only person who did. When Nona was gone, she tried to make a life for herself and got close more than once, but every time, it fell apart. This time it fell apart because of Holly. Holly says, it’s not her fault Cody is Sasha’s cousin, but Sasha says, it’s Holly’s fault she didn’t know until now. And now, she’s alone again. Holly says, she has her father and her father’s family, and Sasha says, that Cody’s a part of. Holly says, she knows it cost Sasha a lot, but it cost a lot for her too. She’s lost the love of her life forever. (Wow. Way to be self-centered.)

At the gatehouse, Nina says she hopes it’s okay that she came by, and Willow says, she can check out Wiley’s Halloween costume. Wiley hugs Nina, and Nina says, it’s the perfect choice. It’s chic. Tweed is in this season. Michael says, they’re going to the main house to show Monica and pick up Amelia, and Wiley asks if Nina wants to come, but Nina says she wants to talk to Wiley’s mom. Wiley and Michael leave, and Willow asks what brings Nina by. Nina says she gave Willow some bad advice about Drew. She needs to tell Michael the truth as soon as she can.

Tracy says she detects more than flicker of daddy’s ruthlessness in Michael, and Ned says, that baby face belies the heart of a shark. She says, now Drew’s been sniffing around Michael’s wife. They can engineer it so he drops out of the race and out of their lives forever. He says, or they can look at it another way. If Drew wins, he can use the video as leverage. He’ll have a congressman under his thumb. Her too. He’s willing to share. Drew comes in, and Tracy says, someone’s had a rough night.

Sam says, Dante is asking now? She’s on painkillers. He says he’d hoped that would work to his advantage. He wanted to ask her when she woke up. Sam says, in this romantic setting. There’s just one thing she wants him to know. It’s okay if he still loves Lulu.

Laura says she’s sure Lucky has his own perspective on the situation, and she wants to hear it. He says, of course (🍷), and she says, he didn’t grow up in a normal stay-put family. She and Luke were fugitives for the first half of his life, until he was 11 years old. That’s why his idea of home is different than just about everyone else’s, including his sister. By the time Lulu came, they were settled in Port Charles. The need he has to… when the going gets rough, to run out and get an emergency passport, that instinct is in him because of how he was raised. Please don’t beat himself up about that. He says he tries to tell himself that even if he can’t stay in one place, at least he can do some good while he’s there, and she says, he does. He has. He also protected Isaiah, and because he did, Isaiah is able to be here to help save his sister. He says he’s so grateful for that, but in the process, he left Elizabeth and his son behind.

Sasha says, Holly is making this about herself, but Holly says she wants Sasha to know that coming clean was for her sake. Despite her failings, she wants to provide for Sasha. Sasha says, she can provide for herself just fine, and Holly tells her, as they say, tout ce qui te rend heureux, whatever makes you happy. Sasha wonders how Holly knows she couldn’t be a mother when she never tried, and Holly says she could have tried grinding out an existence, but she would have been an unhappy mother. Sasha says, at least she would have been there, and Holly says she’s here now. She just pulled off the biggest job of her career and she did it for Sasha. She’s in a position to make sure Sasha is set for life.

Cody says he’s sure Mac has better things to do, but Mac says, it’s a tough break and one they didn’t see coming. Cody says he’d been keeping honest, working at being worthy of Sasha, being a better guy. Mac says, he still is, and Cody laughs. He says he’s in jail, and Mac says, he’ll get past it, but it will take time. Cody says, it won’t change the fact that he and Sasha are cousins. He has to leave Port Charles.

Nina says, Willow should have followed her instincts and told Michael. She needs to be honest. Willow says, Nina told her that she’d just be easing her guilt at his expense. She’s committed to Michael and their family. She had a harmless crush on Drew, and barely anything happened. Nina says, they kissed, and she needs to tell Michael before someone else does. Willow says, only a couple of people know, and she trusts them both, but Nina says, her circle of trust isn’t as tight as she thinks.

Drew asks, what’s going on? and Tracy says, it’s not as exciting as his evening. He says he broke up a fight in a bar, and Ned says he was hoping to discuss the future, but Drew says, it’s not a good time. Ned says, no time like the present. He thinks Drew should be more supportive of the family, so from now on, Drew will do exactly as he says. Drew says, why? and Ned shows him the video. Drew rubs his forehead like he has a headache, and Tracy says, so he wasn’t breaking up a fight. He was an active participant. Drew asks if Ned thinks it’s enough for blackmail, and Ned says, Drew kissed his nephew’s wife while he was sleeping with her mother and he’s running for congress. He’s got to hand it to Drew – time management. (Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!) Drew says, and Cody wouldn’t lie, but Tracy says she’d take Cody’s word over his any day. (Me too.) Drew says he’ll handle Cody, but Ned asks how he plans to handle James West? Does he plan to tarnish James’s reputation or punch him out like Cody?

Laura tells Lucky that most teenagers who meet and fell in love rarely end up being the people they share their lives with. People grow up and change. Lucky says, especially when one of you goes down a dark hole, and Laura says, the important thing is, he climbed back out of it. Everyone is so happy he’s here. He says he needed to hear that, and they hug. He says, no matter where he goes, home is where she is, and she says she needed to hear that. She loves having him here and she’s not the only one. Elizabeth comes back and says she’s going to wait with them. Isaiah comes out and Laura asks, how’s Lulu? He looks grim, but you know how they do.

Cody flashes back to dancing with Sasha, and then Sasha telling him that they’re first cousins. Mac says, no judgement, but he’d hate for Cody to go. They just started to figure things out. Cody says, it’s too hard to be near Sasha without being able to be with her, but Mac says, it won’t make a difference. It’s not easier somewhere else. He speaks from personal experience. Sasha didn’t make him a better man. She may be the reason, but he did the work. It would be a shame to give up now.

Holly says she took the biggest risk of her life, and it paid off. She’ll never have to work again. Sasha says she’s happy for Holly, and Holly says, she’s going to liquidate her share of the proceeds, then Sasha can do and be whatever she wants. Let her do that for her. Sasha says, no thanks. Holly is telling her that this is her last job, but Sasha knows it won’t be. There will be another score and another after that, because she loves the high of living on the edge. Telling lies, using people, and getting away with it. That’s just who she is. Sasha walks out.

Nina says, Cody was drunk, but convincing, and Willow wonders how he knew. Sasha was the only one who saw them, and the other time, they were alone. She must have told Cody. (Seriously. She’s a teacher and can’t do the math?)  Nina says, that’s why Willow needs to tell Michael. He needs to hear it from her before he hears it from someone else. Willow says she could lose everything, but Nina tells her, be strong. They’ll go together, but they need to go now. They’re running out of time.

Ned says, it’s simple. Unless Drew wants Michael to know about his involvement with Michael’s wife, Drew will side with him on every vote. Tracy says, starting with confirming Ned as CEO, and Drew asks if they think he’d go along with that. Ned says, if he wants to be congressman, and Tracy says, and Willow will stay the dutiful wife, and Michael will be none the wiser. Ned says, deal? when Michael comes in with Wiley. He asks, what’s wrong?

Isaiah says, the surgery went well, and Lulu is in recovery. They have to wait and see if her body accepts the transplant, but he’s more optimistic about her prognosis than he was earlier. Lucas hugs him, and Laura says, Lulu has a second chance because of Isaiah and Lucky. Lucky says, they got through together.

Sam says, Dante doesn’t have to propose to thank her for being Lulu’s donor or prove that he loves her too, but Dante says he’d like to marry her because he wants to grow old together. Because he loves their life and loves their family and loves her. She says she loves him too, and he says, good, because they’ve been dancing around this for a while and he’s tired of dancing. But if she’s not ready, he’ll keep dancing. She says she’s ready and tells him to put a ring on it. He does and they kiss. (They’re going to kill her off, aren’t they?)

Mac says, Cody’s family is here – him, Felicia, Maxie and her kids. Cody says, and Robert and Sasha, and Mac says, running isn’t going to make them less related. James will be heartbroken. Cody says, he’s playing dirty, and Mac says he’s not above stooping low. Stick around a while. Cody says he can do that, and Mac says he’ll find Cody a bed. He doesn’t want to go back to the Q’s tonight. Cody says he’s not grounded? and Mac says, they’ll talk in the morning. They walk out together.

Sasha goes to the Brown Dog Bar and the bartender asks if anyone is joining her. She says, not tonight, and orders, vodka, rocks. (Whoa. That sounds like she’s been here before with someone, and the bartender remembers her.) She flashes back to Cody saying he knows it’s true because he spent his life reaching for things he couldn’t have. So of course (🍷) when he finds the best thing, it turns out he can never have it.

Michael says, Drew’s been in a fight? and Drew says, a misunderstanding with a constituent. Michale says, it feels like he walked in on something, and Ned says, they were discussing how the importance of endorsements, the right ones, can make or break a candidate. Drew says, there’s something he needs to tell Michael, and Ned says, think carefully… Willow and Nina walk in, and Willow says she needs to speak to Michael, but Michael says he wants to hear what Drew has to say first. Drew says he’s sorry, and Michael says, for what? Drew says, last 4th of July, he kissed Michael’s wife. They didn’t mean for it to happen, but it did. Michael asks Willow to tell him that Drew is lying, and Willow says, it didn’t mean anything. She starts to cry and says, please believe she loves him. Michael walks out, and Nina holds Willow, looking at Drew behind her back.

Tomorrow, Maxie says, it looks like Cody is going as someone who made a big mistake last night; Sasha says, neither one of them planned on this happening; and Willow asks why someone would come here.

🧴 But You Already Knew This…

It was just for today anyway.

🏥 Time Of Death…

Either it’s Sam and not Lulu or they threw us a helluva red herring.

🗽 Not Taking the A Train…

Jessel said her friend group was a Monet – fabulous from afar, but close up, they were a total mess. Welcome to the Clueless version of RHONY, and also the theme of Jessel’s 41st birthday party. I’m actually on board with this, since I’m a fan of Clueless and all its fashion statements. Sai went plant shopping for her new garden, since she thought the prices at Whole Foods were getting out of hand. Her husband asked if the plants were for food or to take pretty pictures of, which is kind of sad. She said, both, but still. Live your life instead of taking pictures of it. Sai also decided that her mom’s ashes had been in her closet long enough and was going to plant them along with a tree. It was sad when she talked about how this person she’d known and loved her whole life had been reduced to a bag of ashes. This got me on a train of thought about the body really just being a container for love and not the love itself. It reminded me of when my father passed away. I felt that way about the house I grew up in. Once the love (i.e. my father) was gone, it was only an empty container. Hey, I have my moments of depth. Although not usually during a Housewives episode.

Ubah and Racquel discussed the dust-up Ubah had last week with Brynn. Ubah said, Brynn was telling her on the side to watch her behavior, so she wasn’t painted like an angry Black woman. In Racquel’s interview, she said, it was confusing, since Brynn was triggering Ubah into being painted like an angry Black woman. She apologized later on Watch What Happens Live for this remark, but I didn’t understand why. I thought she was spot on. They also talked about how appreciative they were of the freedoms they enjoyed in the USA, which made me appreciate where these women came from and the journey they took to get where they are. Jenna got a job as Editor-and-Chief at large with online fashion magazine Coveteur. During her first roundtable discussion with the staff, one topic was women going to Turkey for eyebrow transplants. Seriously? This is where we’re at?

To prove her ever-growing maturity, Brynn talked smack about Ubah behind her back, saying grown women living in NYC don’t act like that. She also called Sai a miserable troll that lives under the Brooklyn bridge. End of story. Ubah told Raquel that whatever Brynn had against her, she was having it alone, but Racquel suggested she let it out. If she kept it to herself, she’d be stewing and brewing. Erin was deep in the stew and brew, staying annoyed at Jenna for basically not paying enough attention to her. But of course, telling everyone but Jenna. Breaking out the violins.

Here’s the whole deal:

👀 Last Weekend’s Watch…

In keeping with my tradition of being late to the party, I’ve also started watching Stranger Things. Everybody and their mother tried to get me to watch it forever ago, but I was busy watching other things. I finally caved when I just had to know what those flower-headed things were all about.

Warning: Spoilers ahead for just about everything.

My favorite first. I can’t count the ways I love this show. The acting is amazing, the special effects are creepy AF, and the story is unique. One of my favorite horror/sci-fi sub genres is the isolated town people can’t leave where something creepy is going on.

I was caught up, but now have to watch last Sunday’s episode. Another show with superb acting and Colin Ferrell is remarkable. I’d honestly expected it to be more comic bookish, but it’s more film noir.

Same deal. Caught up and now behind again. The deaths of both Isabelle and Genet in episode 4 surprised me. Genet milked her death for all it was worth, but Isabelle’s was a bit of a trip to the cornfield. No judgement, but when horror turns to corny, it makes me break out in eyerolls.

This show is absolutely crazy. In a good way. Without giving it away here, let’s just say they did an entire 180 last week. I was going, wait… what? through the entire two episodes. They’ve kept the viewers guessing from the jump, but this was insane. I’m thinking, Emmys all around. I’ll bet Nicholas Chavez is glad he left GH. And we all know how much I love GH, but whoever is guiding his career path makes good moves. I did have to wonder though. Why would detectives wear white to investigate a grisly murder scene?

🐉 Thrones For Dummies…

I always think, if it needs to be explained, should I be watching it? TBH, I don’t think there will ever be another Game of Thrones. Although I wish we could go back and redo the ending. <sigh>
