What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

Holly says she doesn’t know Sonny well, but Luke held him in very high regard. He says, the feeling was mutual, and Holly says, that’s why she’s here. Any friend of Luke’s is a friend of hers. He seems unsure if that translates into doing business. He says, she dropped Luke’s name right away, so she must be in some kind of trouble.

Anna calls Jason and tells him that Sidwell was spotted in Miami. He needs to watch out.

Anna goes to Robert’s office, and he says, she knows. She says, he has another daughter.

Isaiah finds Lucas in the breakroom, and says, they have surgery tomorrow. Is he ready for it?

At The Savoy, Ric says he received a call from Judge Orvis, and he’s ruled in Heather’s favor. He’s vacating her conviction. Trina asks what that means, and he says, tomorrow, Heather is a free woman. Portia says, no. She knew it would happen. Ric says he never intended for this to happen. He wanted to present the new evidence to the court. That’s it.  Curtis asks what he thought would happen, and Ric says, that Heather would be relocated to a minimum-security facility or sent to a mental health center. Curtis says, he exceeded his goal, and Ric says he never thought the judge would vacate her sentence. Portia says, he knew, but didn’t care, and Ric says, Heather is no longer suffering from metallosis. Portia says, so she’s not a threat, and he says, that’s the professional medical assessment. Portia says, Heather murdered five people trying to get to Trina. She thanks him for unleashing the monster that put her daughter’s life at risk.

Robert says, Holly told her, and Anna says, Holly came to see him. If she thought she was going to get sympathy or that she’d run interference with Robert, she was wrong on both fronts. Anna says she knows that makes her a hypocrite, but he says, it’s nothing like her and Robin. She says she thinks Holly would disagree. To be fair, she did lie, but she finds this appalling. He and Holly have so much history, and he’s a wonderful father. Why hide his daughter from him? He says, Holly thought he was dead, and Anna says, what about when she found out he was alive? He says, her intent wasn’t to hurt him, and she says, he’s going to forgive Holly, isn’t he?

Holly says she has delicate merchandise to move and needs Sonny’s assistance. Luke isn’t the only person they have in common. Did Jason mention their heroic adventures in Africa? Sonny says, Jason told him that he brought Lucky home, but he doesn’t recall Jason mentioning her. Holly says, Jason is a man of few words, and Sonny says, they both are. She says she’s glad, since that means they agree on discretion. She prefers to keep their negotiation between them. He says he still doesn’t know what the negotiation is, when Diane comes in and stops short when she sees Holly.

Isaiah says, it looks like he and Lucas had the same idea. Bobbie’s was closed, so he came here to review his notes. Lucas says he’ll get Isaiah after hours status. Bobbie Spencer was his mother. Isaiah says, his mom is a legend at this hospital.

Portia asks what Ric has to say for himself, and Ric says he’s spent time with Heather. He got medical proof. He had her blood work tested at several labs, and the overwhelming consensus… Curtis says, he’s not in the courtroom, and Josslyn tells Dex, they should go. He leaves with her, and Ric says, this isn’t what he wanted. Curtis says, he wanted a check. How much are they talking about from a civil case about Heather’s faulty device? Her vacate will help win the settlement. Ric says, that’s a separate issue, and Curtis says he believed Ric because of his relationship to Molly. He never thought Molly’s father was capable of unleashing a murderer on his daughter for profit. Molly says, blaming Ric isn’t the answer, and Curtis says, if Ric isn’t to blame, who is?  

Sonny asks what he can do for Diane, and she says she was in the neighborhood and that she’d pay a routine social visit, but she sees he’s otherwise engaged. They can catch up later. Lovely to see Holly. Holly says, her too, and Diane leaves. Holly says she can guess where Diane is headed, but Sonny says, it’s none of his business. She asks if he socializes with this attorney, and he asks if she wants to conduct business. She says she’s keen on securing the transaction, but needs assurance, and he says, it’s more important to her than to him. He’ll consider helping her, but tell him what he has to do for her. She dumps the diamonds on his desk (funny, they don’t sound like diamonds), and Sonny picks one up.

Anna says, no matter the years, Holly’s priority has always been Holly, and Robert says, Sasha would agree. She demanded a paternity test. She’s desperate to prove she’s not his kid. Anna asks if he thinks Holly lied, and he says, why take a chance on something that’s easily proved? What would be the point? To hurt Sasha? To hurt him? Anna says she doesn’t see what could hurt him more than the truth.  

Lucas says he studied portal vein thrombosis in med school, but Isaiah has performed transplants that involved it before. Isaiah asks Lucas to walk him through his strategy. How does he plan to perform surgery on his sister and cousin?  

Molly tells Curtis and Portia that no one understands more than she does. Her office prosecuted the case, but if an appeals judge hears it, it’s up to the judge as to what justice looks like from the facts presented. This is not on her father. TJ says, he didn’t have to be Heather’s lawyer. He didn’t have to take the case. He walks off, and Ric and Molly start to follow. Curtis asks if Ric has filed suit to collect his blood money, and Ric says he’s sorry this happened. He leaves with Molly, and Portia says, it’s an absolute nightmare. Curtis tells Trina that she’s coming home with them, and Trina tells him, thanks, but there’s no way she’s moving back home.

Back at his apartment, Dex asks if Josslyn is okay, and Josslyn says, Heather being released was not the news she was expecting. She can’t believe it. He says, Trina’s parents are shaken up, and she says, of course (🍷). Trina is the reason Heather committed those insane acts. He says, she didn’t succeed with Trina or Josslyn, and Josslyn says, thanks to him and Britt. He says he wishes he’d gotten there sooner. Britt would still be alive. She asks if he ever thinks… wishes he’d killed Heather, and he says, all the time.

Portia says she thinks it would be safer if they were all at home together under one roof, and Trina says, strength in numbers? Curtis says he needs Trina where he can protect her, and Trina says she knows he wants to keep her safe and she wants to be. Heather being released isn’t her choice, but she spent a year being terrified and letting Esme and Heather control her. She refuses to go back. She’s going home to her apartment.

Lucas tells Isaiah, it wasn’t his choice. His sister asked him, and Sam is hard to say no to. Isaiah asks if he’s nervous, but Lucas says, no. Isaiah will be doing the heavy lifting. Which begs the question, why is he the surgeon? Why did he sign on to a transplant that has a very high likelihood of failure? Isaiah says, the same reason. Lucky asked him to. Lucky is his best friend and if Lucky’s sister has a shot in hell of making it through this, she’s going to need him. He’ll see Lucas in the morning. He leaves.

At the apartment, Molly says, Ric should go before TJ comes home, but he says he doesn’t want to leave her alone. She says she’s used to it. He’s been their most recent excuse to run from each other. He says he’s sorry and thanks her for defending him. She didn’t have to. She says she knows. He didn’t have to take the case. He says he didn’t mean to hurt anyone, but the law is the law. She says she’s sure his motion was brilliant, and he says, now Heather is going free. She says she prays he’s right and she’ll be a functioning member of society. Either way, it’s too late for regrets. He thanks her for understanding, and she says, but it’s not too late for dropping Ava as a client.

Robert says, it breaks his heart that Sasha is praying he’s not her father, and Anna says, it’s not personal. She doesn’t know him. He says he knows her. The minute she walked in, he knew she was his daughter. Anna asks, how? and he says, she has his mother’s eyes.

Holly tells Sonny, there’s no record of the diamonds. No serial numbers, no way to trace them. If they’re moved, they can’t be tracked. He says, somebody had them before her and they’ll want them back, and she says, hence the desecration and speed. He asks who she’s running from.

TJ comes into the breakroom and tells Lucas that the hospital is a better option than home. Lucas says, work provides distraction, and TJ says, it figures Lucas would bust him for running away, but Lucas says he moved to another state to avoid the mess of his life. If TJ wants to hide out, go ahead. TJ says, at least it’s not a bar, and Lucas says, if he’s here, he can do good and make patients well so they can go home to their families. TJ says he’s avoiding his, and Lucas says, at least he’s not at a bar.

Molly says, Ric took Ava’s case, but he could easily cut her loose. Ric says, why? and she says, maybe because Ava is the reason her baby is dead, but he says he doesn’t believe that’s true. She asks if he wants to debate the cause, and he says, that’s why he can’t drop the case. He’s doing it for her.

Holly tells Sonny that she prefers her valuables to be liquid. She’s in a rush to get out of Port Charles for personal reasons. He says he doesn’t usually handle diamonds. He’ll have to make some calls. She asks if that means he wants to do business, and he says he may be able to help her… on one condition. He gets a sizeable cut.

Anna asks if Robert is all right and he says he will be. She says she needs to follow up on something, and he asks if it’s okay if he’s the one to tell Robin. She says, of course (🍷). Robin always wanted a sister. She leaves.

Dex says he wants Josslyn to be safe, but she says, there’s only so much he can do. He’s a cop now. He says he’s not like other cops. He’s been in combat. He’s killed before, and some people need to be stopped. She says, Heather is one, and he says, if Heather thinks of hurting her, it will be the last thing she ever does.

Portia says, they should force Trina to come home, but Curtis says, she’s an adult and trying to regain control of her life. Portia says, she can’t if she’s dead, and he tells her, don’t say that. She says, it could happen. Clearly, the justice system cares less than Ric. It’s infuriating, and she wonders if Ric would be as blasé if Molly was in danger. Curtis says he doesn’t see how a judge can’t tell Heather is a danger, and she says she wants to ask him if Trina was Josslyn or Molly if the decision would be the same. If a young white woman was the obsession of a serial killer, and not a young Black woman, would Heather be going free?

There’s a knock at the apartment door, and Trina gets a mallet out of the kitchen. She asks who it is, and it’s Gio. He says he thought he’d come by and see if she was okay. She lets him in and says she thought she was, but she’s not.  

Diane goes to Robert’s office and says, he’ll never guess who she saw together. He says, try him, and she says she went to Sonny’s office, and when she saw what she saw, she made it clear that she was only there for a social visit, so no attorney/client privilege. He asks what she saw, and she says, Sonny meeting with Holly.

Holly says, define sizable, and Sonny says, 30%. He’s taking the risk. She says she risked her life for them, and he says he can’t move them. Why here? She says she hopes this business transaction is the first of many. She wants to get the relationship off on the right foot. He laughs and says, she’s something else. Beauty, charm, and that accent… She’s not his type. He needs time to consider it. She tells him, don’t take too long, and takes out a diamond. She says, a deposit, in good faith, and hands it to him. She leaves and he looks at it.

Lucas tells TJ that Sam was adamant that he be her surgeon, and asks if Molly has said anything about him operating on her sister. TJ says, Molly doesn’t share much with him these days. He’d say they’re drifting apart, but she’s pulling away. Lucas says, grief is tricky. It can bring people closer or do the opposite. TJ says, Molly wasn’t not there when they cleared the nursery. She wasn’t there when they picked out the burial plot. Lucas says, TJ still feels alone, and TJ says, tonight felt normal. They were at a party for his granddad. Long story short, Heather Webber is going free and Ric Lansing made it happen. Molly defended Ric and he saw more emotion from her defending her father than from anything they’ve been through. She was present and focused, and she hasn’t been there for him once since their baby died.

Ric says he’s doing it for Molly, but Molly says, it makes no sense. Ava is responsible for her child’s death. Ric says he thought she blamed Kristina, and Molly says, Kristina shouldn’t have gone to Ava’s room, but only one person fell out the window… Two, Kristina and their baby. For that, she needs Ava to pay. He says, that’s what scares him. The vengeance she feels is him, and not what he wants to see in her. His mistakes were driven by his need to get what he was owed. He’s been learning to distinguish when it’s destructive. She says she thinks he’s confusing vengeance with justice, and he says, call it what she wants, but it’s poison. She asks what she should do. Forget what Ava did to her child and call it an accident? He says, it’s his job as a lawyer and a father to present the facts of the case and make her believe it was an accident. He has to prove it to her so she can move on and heal.

Josslyn says she knows Dex would protect her against anything, but don’t wreck his life. Britt died and she would have been next. She’s alive because of him. He says he promises he’ll do what it takes to keep her here, and kisses her.

Gio sees the mallet and says, Trina means business. Josslyn and Dex filled him in on Heather Webber. He doesn’t know how she’s keeping it together. She says she realized she hasn’t been. It seems easy to say, her mom is overreacting, and act mature, saying, let the court decide. It seemed impossible that Heather would ever go free. She killed five people and gets to walk away, probably with a big payoff. It feels so wrong. Gio says, people like them and what she’s feeling are why music and art exist, and she says, like them? He says, sometimes the only way he can express his feelings is through music. He thinks it’s the same for her.

Curtis says, they both know the answer. Sometimes life is not fair. Portia says, a young Black woman is not valued the same way a young white woman is. It makes her want to scream. He says him too, but right now he’s focused on protecting Trina. He could hire a security guard to stand outside the apartment. She says, it’s not enough, but he asks what options they have. He can get a bodyguard. Trina would hate that, but he’ll do it. She says, what Trina wants and what Trina needs are not necessarily the same thing. Heather’s grandson is here, and she’ll want to stay near him. Heather and Trina can’t be in the same city. They’ve got to send Trina away.

Molly says, if Ava isn’t held accountable… Ric says, her baby died for no reason. She says she can’t live with that. She barely talks to TJ about anything deeper than who’s making dinner. It’s the most empty house he’s ever been in because it was about to be so full. Now it’s not and they can’t see through to the other side. They’re stuck in this horrible in-between with no baby and a marriage hanging by a thread. In what world should there be no consequences? He says, it’s nobody’s fault, and she says she needs him to leave. Please go. He says he loves her, but she doesn’t say it back, and he leaves.

Lucas says he and TJ’s situations aren’t the same, but he does have experience with losing a child. He really hopes TJ and Molly do better. TJ asks if Lucas misses Brad, and Lucas says, sometimes, but he’d never go back. TJ might want to ask himself the same question. If he and Molly don’t make it, how much will he miss her? TJ says he doesn’t want to lose Molly, but he doesn’t know how much more they can weather.

Sonny calls Jason and says, there’s a business proposition he needs to talk to Jason about before he takes it.

Robert says, Holly was in Sonny’s office, and Diane says he doesn’t seem surprised. He says, it’s not the worst thing he’s heard about today.

Holly finds Anna in her hotel room and asks if the Police Commissioner is in the habit of breaking and entering. Anna says she thought it best to catch Holly off guard. It’s about Sidwell. The pilot that brought them back from Africa was killed and the plane was ransacked. Interpol has proof Sidwell is in Miami. Holly says, Jenz Sidwell is in the US? And Anna says, it’s a long way to come for hurt feelings. She’s guessing Holly took something from him. Stop lying for once. She’ll help Holly, but she needs the truth. Did she steal something from Sidwell? Holly says, no, and Anna says, really? Fine. Have it her way. Don’t say she didn’t try. Stay away from Robert. The last thing he needs is for Holly to make him a target. Anna leaves.

Josslyn and Dex get very busy.

Trina says she appreciates art, but she’s not an artist, and Gio says he was thinking about music. She loves to sing, and her grandpa said she had a gift. Trina tells him that her grandpa has to say that. Does he want her to write a ballad about how Heather freaks her out? He says, or about how all this feels. Fear, hate, confusion, disappointment, whatever is in her, let it out. She says she’ll think about it, but he says, don’t overthink. She yawns and thanks him for checking on her. He asks if she’s sure she’s okay by herself, and she says she’ll be fine. He asks if it’s okay if he crashes on her couch. It feels safer than a big creepy mansion. She says, sure. And she’s got her trusty mallet to protect them.

Curtis says he and Portia share Trina’s feelings and fears, but what is the chance she’ll give up her life in Port Charles? Portia says, they’ll make her see it’s for the best, and he says, her answer will be a refusal, and she won’t be wrong. She asks, what’s the solution? and he says, Trina’s not leaving. Heather is. She says, how? and he says he’ll handle that. Heather Webber is never going to be a problem ever again.  

Tomorrow, Portia says, if Plan A fails, she may take Elizabeth up on that offer; Sam says, someone wants something, they always do; and Jack says, if Carly has to ask, she’s not as smart as he thought she was.

🧂 Adding 3 Teaspoons Of Salt…

Angie said, no one is innocent, but they’re like family, and no one is more important than family. She was going to make the group an offer they couldn’t refuse and invite them to her 25th anniversary party. The theme? Mob wives. I was all in for that.

Whitney apologized to Meredith and told her that she thought it was Lisa spreading the lies about her business. Meredith felt like Whitney was trying to get her to go against Lisa, but she was staying Switzerland.

Jared Osmond showed up at Angie’s anniversary bash, even though Britani had brought another date – the text calling them Jared and Not Jared. Way to mess with her head. Ugh, this guy. She needs to ditch him yesterday.

As usual, the best place for confrontation was somebody else’s party. At Angie’s anniversary bash, Whitney told Lisa that a source of hers claimed it was Lisa who wanted to sabotage her business. No surprise, Lisa got all bent out of shape and started screeching about lawyers and how she was going to sue whoever was spreading this vicious gossip. She demanded that Whitney name names and told Whitney that she was a liar loud enough for the whole room to hear, causing Whitney’s husband to get involved. Then he and Lisa’s husband looked like they were going to get into a fistfight, which was pretty funny, since neither of them looks like the type to get in a boxing ring. Unfortunately, we have to wait until next week to see how that panned out, since it was interrupted with, to be continued.

The best part, for me anyway, was when Heather suggested a group hug between Meredith, Mary, and herself, and Mary made a face like she smelled something bad. She didn’t receive Meredith’s idea of high-fives any more favorably. I love Mary.

🍸 A Real Charmer Lost…

Sadly, Michael has made his last martini. He was one of the highlights on the show, even though it was only video calls after his stroke. He will be greatly missed.

👀 Last Weekend’s Watch…

Anatomy of Lies was extremely compelling. I was fascinated with this tale of a television writer turned con artist, especially since the only gain was attention. I’m convinced that I’m too lazy to scam people. I can’t imagine having to keep the story straight and, in this case, having to dim down, as Finchie also shaved her head and wore makeup to look sick. There were also those frequent trips to the bathroom to throw up. Yep. Way too much work. She might have continued to get away with it, if it weren’t for her piggybacking on other people’s tragedies and her co-workers realizing she was making like Zelig. This is a definite watch.

October 22, 2024 – Marshall Gets a Big Sendoff, Circling the City Drain, Pavlova, Best Parade Ever & Spell

What I Watched Today

General Hospital

At The Savoy, Curtis tells the crowd about their family relying on each other’s love and tenacity. By the grace of God, they come through and they soar. There’s no finer example than his father, his dad, his pop. All Marshall’s life, he practiced his art in the shadows, and in the studio sessions, cruises, and dive bars, he was working on his craft while working on developing a reputation of respect from his fellow musicians. Today is a long overdue and very well-earned time for him to step into the spotlight and show the world what he does. Everyone toasts to Marshall.

Dante goes to see Sonny in his office and says, for the first time in a long time, everything is okay. They found a donor for Lulu. It’s Sam.

Elizabeth says she scored an extra pillow for Sam and asks if she can get her anything else. Sam says she’s okay, and thanks Elizabeth for taking good care of her. Elizabeth says she’s happy to, and leaves. Felicia comes in and says she’s here as Sam’s patient advocate and friend. How is she doing? Sam says, good, and Felicia says, things are moving fast because of Lulu’s condition. She wants to make sure Sam’s not feeling rushed and see if she has any questions or concerns. Sam tells her that Lucas is stopping by to go over everything, and Felicia tells her to try and get some rest. Maxie and Spinelli come in with balloons, and Maxie thanks Sam so much for doing this.

At (I think) the Bistro, Ava says, Ric rehearsed her for hours, grilling her on what to say and how to say it. He says he wants her to feel comfortable taking the stand. How does she feel? Ava says, good… confident… ready… What? Ric says, usually defendants testifying is risky. It makes it easy for the prosecution to score points cross examining. Ava asks if he’s saying she wasted her time rehearsing and he’s not letting her take the stand.

Holly goes to Anna’s office and Anna thanks her for coming. Holly says she’d have come even if Anna hadn’t reached out. Anna says, there are developments with Sidwell… and Holly says she and Robert have a daughter.

Spinelli says he’s speechless, and Sam says she’s glad to help Lulu. Maxie asks where Molly and Kristina are, and Sam says, somewhere. Felicia says, Sam has revelers a-plenty, even though she’s supposed to be getting some rest, and Maxie says, organ donation is a beautiful thing and so is Sam. Sam thanks her.

Josslyn tells Dex that they owe Trina for the invitation, since they never get a night out. There aren’t enough hours in the day. He says, they have a night out here now, and kisses her.

At one of the tables, Molly’s phone rings, and TJ asks if she’s not going to answer. She says, it’s just her mom, letting her know what time Sam’s surgery is tomorrow, and he asks if she wants to see Sam. She says she’s not sure Sam wants to see her. Besides, she wants to be here for him and his family.

Gio thanks Trina for inviting him and asks if she thinks her grandfather is going to play. Trina says she doesn’t know, but she has recordings if he wants to hear them. She wanted him to meet Marshall before he takes off.

Marshall says he hopes he can live up to Curtis’s words, but Curtis says, he already has. Portia says, they’re proud of him, and Curtis says he’s been checking the tour dates so they can get tickets. Stella asks if Marhsall would mind if she tagged along, and Marshall says he would love that.

Ric says, if Ava can keep her composure the way they practiced, he thinks she can convince the jury. She’s compelling when she wants to be. She asks if he finds her compelling, and he says, at times, very. He’s going to do best do his best to make sure she doesn’t go to prison, and Ava says, that’s his job. Ric says he’s good at it, and she asks if he thinks she’s guilty or does he believe Kristina’s fall was an accident.

Holly repeats that she and Robert have a daughter, but Anna says, that’s not possible. She never said anything all these years. Holly says she’s sure Anna understands not telling the father, and Anna asks if Robert knows. Holly says, this morning history repeated itself, and Anna is in no position to throw stones. Anna says, Robin was five, and Holly has been sitting on this since when? Holly says, since the WSB tried to kill Robert, and they all believed they’d succeeded. Anna asks if she knows where her daughter is, and Holly says, she’s in Port Charles. Sasha Corbin is their daughter. Anna says, this is low, even for Holly.

Sonny says, so Sam is the donor, and asks Dante, how are the kids? Dante says, Rocco is excited. Scout and Danny are happy. They’re scared for their mom, but there’s been so much bonding of the family, they feel closer together. Sonny says, it’s great the way Dante and Sam co-parent, and Dante says, the families blended better than he’d hoped. Sonny says, Dante has a great family, but Dante gives Sam all the credit. She did the heavy lifting.

Ava says she swears Kristina’s fall was a terrible accident, and Ric says he wouldn’t have taken the case if he’d thought otherwise. She asks how Molly is reacting, and he says, rough. Molly can’t see it yet, but he took the case for her sake. The only way for her to get past her anger and drive for revenge is if she accepts Kristina’s fall was an accident. Hopefully, then she can move on. She says, he’s a good father, and he says, few people would agree. She says, that doesn’t make it any less true. People say the same things about her, but she loves her daughter with her whole heart. His phone rings and he says he has to take it, and steps away.

Anna says she’s not sure anyone has hurt Robert as much as Holly. Now she’s kept this information for 20 plus years. Holly says, glass houses and all that, and Anna asks if Sasha knows. Holly says, she just found out, and Anna says, it’s shameful. Sasha has been through so much, and now she’s dating Cody, Mac’s son. Holly asks why Anna thinks she told Sasha, and Anna says, she gets no points for that. Holly says she doesn’t care what Anna thinks. She just lost her daughter and the man… Robert and Sasha will never speak to her again. Anna asks if Holly can think of a reason they should.

Gio says, Marshall has played with the greats, and Trina says, so will he. She introduces him to Marshall, and Dex tells Josslyn that it’s good to see her enjoying herself. She says, Alexis was exonerated and now her mom can concentrate less on Sonny, and Dex says, there have been a lot of coincidences lately.

Stella asks how Portia is doing, and Portia says, stressed. The fact that a judge is even entertaining Heather’s case makes her nervous. Stella says, they can’t do anything to change that, not tonight. Don’t let something out of their control make her miss good times with family and friends.

Ric comes back and tells Ava that he took care of the bill. He says he has to go, and jets.

Sam asks Maxie to run interference if her sisters show up, and Maxie says she’s on it. She knows about sister drama… and every other kind of drama. Spinelli tells Sam to focus on being the courageous heroine of her own story, when Lucas joins them. He wonders if he missed his invitation to the party, and Sam says she’s glad he’s here. They hug, and Felicia says, they need to let Sam get some rest. They say their goodbyes, and Sam tells Spinelli, don’t break into any databases without her. Lucas says, she’s the popular one. He stopped in to see if she had any questions or needed anything. Sam says she’s good on both, and Lucas says, Dr. Comstock will be by to discuss her surgery. He’s a great surgeon… Sam says she thought Lucas was doing her surgery, but he says he thought she knew he can’t do that.

Ric goes into the hospital and tells Elizabeth that he needs to speak with her. It’s important. She says, what has he done now?

Jordan picks up an order at Bobbie’s and sees Isaiah at a table, pouring over papers, an untouched burger in front of him. She says she sees he’s absorbed, and he asks if she’s coming from a run. She says she missed her morning one, and he says he admires her dedication. She says, back at him. Laura told her that he’s doing Lulu’s surgery. He says he was grabbing dinner before he went to the hospital, and she says she thinks he should do more than grab it. He might want to eat it too. He says, busted. But if she sits, he might have a better chance. She sits down and asks, what changed his mind? She thought he was done performing miracles. He says, Lucky asked for his help. His sister pulled him out of trouble more than once. Jordan says she hopes he has one more miracle left in him.

Marshall says, it’s good to see TJ and Molly. They made it through a terrible time. Molly says, each day is better, and he says, have faith that in the future they’ll have a family. Don’t be afraid to try again. TJ says, when the time is right, and Marhsall says, they’re going to make spectacular parents one day. Molly excuses herself.  

Josslyn tells Dex that she doesn’t think about Cates’s murder or Sonny. She realized it’s not her job to make Sonny face justice or his conscience. She’s going to stay as far away from Sonny as possible. Dex says, wise move.

TJ finds Molly at the bar, looking at her phone. She says, her dad said he was going to stop by, but she hasn’t seen him. TJ says he just came to get a drink. (Or five.)  

Ric says, Judge Orvis ruled in favor of Heather. He agreed that there was cobalt poisoning, and therefore, Heather was not in her right mind. He was hoping she’d be transferred to minimum security or something. Elizabeth says, that’s not what’s happening, and Ric says, Orvis vacated Heather’s sentence. She’s being released.

Anna says, Robert must be in shock, and Holly says, he definitely is, but Sasha’s reaction is the most troubling. She’s in complete denial. She’d told Sasha that her father was dead, and Sasha thinks this is another lie. Anna says, clearly, Sasha knows her, and Holly says she doesn’t know what to do. Anna says, leave. If she ever loved Robert, then she should leave town and maybe never come back. Her being here is destructive and she thinks it’s hurting Robert and their daughter. Holly says she’s Sasha’s mother, and Anna says, then put the welfare of her child first above her own. Holly says, Anna thinks she deserves this pain, but Anna says she doesn’t know. Holly asked her what she thought she should do and she’s telling her. The best way to help the situation is if she goes. Holly walks out.

Dante tells Sonny that he keeps worrying Lulu won’t make it through surgery. He’s scared. Sonny says, he’s probably preparing for the worst, but he should hope for the best, and Dante says, Lulu is a fighter. Sonny says, there’s still a chance because of Sam. Don’t count her out.

Lucas says, it’s against policy to perform surgery on family members, and Sam asks if Dr. Comstock is a better surgeon. Lucas says, he has stellar credentials, and Sam asks again, is he a better surgeon? Lucas says, no, and she says she shouldn’t be penalized just because she’s family. Lucas says, she’s not being penalized. That’s the way it’s done. She asks if he thinks he can perform surgery on her or not.

Isaiah says he can’t discuss Lulu’s surgery with Jordan, but the odds of rejection in a transplant are high already. Jordan says, her odds weren’t great and here she is. He says, she’s a recipient? and she says she received a kidney a few years ago from an unlikely donor. Her situation was dire, and her family was losing hope, but look at her now. He says he is, and she says, figuratively. She just ran six miles. He asks if that’s why she looks so good.

Ava thanks Nina for coming. Ric was called away and she’s not ready to call it a night. Nina asks if they were having dinner, but Ava says, a strategy session. She thanks Nina again for the referral and says she feels good. Ric is a tenacious lawyer and he’s in her corner. Nina says, unscrupulous is a better word. All he cares about is Ric. If her well-being aligns with his love of money, Ava is golden. Ric married her when she was in a fragile state of mind, tried to steal her money, and put her in the looney bin. Ava says, people can change. She sees how much he loves his daughter and he’s passionate about the law. He’s working hard to defend her. Nina asks if Ava is interested in Ric, but Ava says, no.

Elizabeth asks when Heather is being released, and Ric says, tomorrow. He never thought she’d be freed. He doesn’t believe she’s a threat to society… She says she’s sure the families Heather terrorized don’t feel that way. Why come to her? He says, the Ashfords are having a going away party for Marshall and Molly is there. She says, all the people he needs to tell in one room, but he says he doesn’t want to spoil the celebration. She asks if he doesn’t think they should know before they see it on the news, and he asks if she’ll go with him. She says, it’s all him. He needs to take responsibility for just doing his job. (I love when Elizabeth gets snippy.)

Portia tells Curtis, it was a wonderful speech, and Marshall says he was incredibly touched. The party is beautiful. Curtis says he’s glad to see Portia smiling again. She says, it’s a good party with a good turnout. It’s a good day.

Trina introduces Gio to Marshall, and Gio says, Wynton Marsalis is one of his favorites. Marshall says his too, and Gio says he’s sorry he won’t get to hear Marshall play. Trina says she’s going to miss him, and Marshall says he’ll miss her too. She should pursue her own music. She has the voice of an angel, and it would be something if she trained.

Stella tells Molly that it’s good to see her and TJ making an effort, and Molly says, they’re still healing. Stella says, it takes time, and Molly says, sometimes it’s so hard, she can barely breathe. Stella asks if she’s shared that with TJ, but Molly says, he has his own grief. She doesn’t want to put it on him. Stella says, after she says this, she’ll butt out… for a minute. Right now, she just sees them going through the motions. She understands that sometimes all you can do is go through to get through, but the words they don’t say are building a wall between them Tell TJ how she feels and listen to how he’s feeling. It’s the only way they’ll have a future together.

Curtis asks if Stella is sure that she wants to drive Marhsall to the airport, and she says, they’ll be fine. (Hmm… At this point, I trust nothing.)

Marshall tells Trina, be happy, and she says she loves him. He says he loves her more. She’ll be just fine. Stella says he doesn’t want to miss his plane, and he says, she loves bossing him. There are hugs and goodbyes, and Marshall says, y’all be kind to each other. Much love. He throws them a kiss, and leaves amid applause.

Nina says, Ric is not relationship material, and Ava says she can take care of herself. She’s not helpless and naïve. Nina says, she’s vulnerable and it’s worked against her in the past. Ava says, if Nina is referring to the late, lamented Cates, he was using her, and she was using him. Nina says she was talking about Nikolas.

Felicia tells Maxie and Spinelli to get some rest, and leaves. Spinelli asks, what’s on Maxie’s mind? and she says, it’s so strange that Sam ends up being the one to save Lulu. If Lulu wasn’t in a coma, she and Dante would be together. Spinelli says, they were divorced, and Lulu was engaged to Dustin, but Maxie says, Lulu confided in her after the explosion that she still loved Dante, but she didn’t get the chance to tell him. Maybe she should have told Dante. Maybe she still should. Spinelli asks, to what end? Wouldn’t Lulu want Dante and Sam to be happy? Maxie says she wouldn’t, and Spinelli says, just leave it alone and let fate decide. Maxie says, she and fate have never been besties.

Sonny says, letting go is hard, but sometimes moving on is harder, and Dante says he thought Lulu was it and it’s his fault he lost her. He never had the chance to tell her how he felt. Sonny says, thanks to Julian, and Dante says, Sam came out of nowhere. She snuck up on him and became everything. She put him and Rocco back together, and now she’s going to save Lulu’s life. He loves her more than he thought possible.

Sam asks if Lucas is worried his emotions will be involved, and Lucas says, it’s an important question and the answer is of course (🍷) he’ll be effected, but Lulu is the more serious risk. She asks how many times he’s done this surgery, and he says, dozens. She asks if she has to call her advocate, and he says he’s sure the lawyers have a waiver she could sign. She says, as long as he does the surgery. There’s no one she trusts more than her brother. He says, she wins again, and they hug.

Molly says she’s going to miss Marshall, and TJ says, there are lots of goodbyes these days. They hug, and Ric walks in. Molly asks where he’s been, and he says he needs to speak to Curtis and Portia.

Portia says, there’s something she’s been meaning to tell Curtis, when Ric joins them. He says he’d like to speak with them in private. It’s important. Curtis says, they can use his office, but Portia says she’s not going anywhere with Ric.

Isaiah says, a Deputy Mayor’s work is never done? and Jordan says she loves it on a good day. She hopes he has one tomorrow. Good luck. He says he doesn’t need luck, just skill, and she says, his ego is still intact. He says, you have to think you’ll be the best to be the best, and she says, that’s just what Lulu needs.

Dante kisses Sam and asks how she’s doing. She says, better. She got Lucas to agree to do the surgery. He says, as long as she’s comfortable. He wishes he could find the words to tell her how grateful he is. She says, just hold her, and he says, it would be his absolute pleasure.

Cricket sounds come from Anna’s computer, and she sees it says, ALERT! She says, Interpol? and sees a headline: Wanted Suspect At Large. Sidwell Spotted in Miami. There’s a photo of Sidwell at the airport, and Anna says, what are you coming for, Sidwell?

There’s a knock at Sonny’s door, and Frank says, his appointment is here. Sonny says, show her in, and tells Holly, we meet again. She says, good to see you, Mr. Corinthos, and he tells her to call him Sonny. She thanks him for meeting her, and he asks her to have a seat. What can he do for her? She says she hears he’s a man of many resources. Someone who can make things happen. He says, depends on the things, and she puts her tote bag on his desk. She says, in that case, she has a business proposition for him.

Ava says she and Nikolas are over, and Nina says, that doesn’t make being alone easier. Don’t be so quick to get involved with something new and shiny. Ava says she’ll take it under advisement, and Nina says she hopes Ava does. Underneath that charming exterior is a man who loves two things, himself and money. Expect anything more, and she’s courting disaster.

Elizabeth tells Terry, heads up. They’re going to need to support Portia. She’s about to get very bad news.

Portia says, this can only be about one thing – Heather Webber. Ric says, yes, and she says, what is it? Everyone! Listen to the news about Heather. Curtis tells Ric to say what he came to say, and Ric says he received a call from Judge Orvis. He ruled in Heather’s favor and vacated her conviction. Trina asks what that means, and he says, as of tomorrow, Heather is a free woman. There’s shock all around.

Tomorrow, Isaiah tells Lucas that if Lucky’s sister has a shot in hell of making it through this, she’s going to need him; Ric tells Molly, that’s why he can’t drop the case; Anna tells Holly, stop lying for once; and Sonny says someone must be in some kind of trouble.

🗽 No Sleeping In the City…

I wasn’t totally paying attention, but zoned in when Erinn had the women over for Shabat. In her interview, she wondered how anyone could be a Jew and a Scientologist. I assumed she was talking about Rebecca and rolled that over in my mind. I can actually see it meshing, although I’m sure it’s uncommon. It was story time, and Jenna told an interesting tale about dating a writer who was writing about sex clubs in NYC and going with him to one. She thought it was disgusting, and it sounded disgusting. Then they played Never Have I Ever with, no surprise, sex questions. I’m not a prude by any stretch of the imagination, but I’m tired of the Housewives version of this game only involving one subject. Especially when it’s people whose freak number I do not want to know.

Brynn and Erin thought it would be amusing to put fake cockroaches in the beyond fabulous pavlova dessert, which made Sai literally run to the bathroom to throw up. I’m not sure what Brynn was wearing, but it looked like something stolen from a circus clown. Again, wrong people with the money. Ubah told the groups that whenever she was out of alignment, it was because of Brynn. Brynn told Ubah not to come off angry, and Ubah begged Brynn not to be condescending, which only stoked her anger. Brynn said she didn’t like and wouldn’t take anyone calling her names, and Ubah said if Brynn acted condescending again, she would call her a snake again. A snake? I’m pretty sure Brynn has been called worse. I know I have. In Brynn’s interview, she said she didn’t want Ubah to be a stereotype. And so we circled that drain again.

Next time, Sai’s birthday; and Erinn doesn’t want to be close to Jenna.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

Terry says, the transplant team found a potential complication, and Laura says, please tell her that they’re still planning on doing the surgery. Elizabeth and Lucky join them, and Laura tells them that there’s a been a complication. Terry suggests they go to her office since it’s more private.

Dante goes to the stables, and says he was going to come see Cody earlier, but then he got Cody’s message. Cody hands him a beer and asks if it’s about Lulu, but Dante says, it’s about Sam.

In the solarium, Sam says, she wanted to talk to Drew, but she’s expecting someone else. He asks, who? when Jason walks in.

Holly tells Robert that she has a sensitive matter to talk to him about. It could change things completely. She’s not sure how to put it in words, and he says, how about, Robert you have daughter? She asks who told him and he says, Sasha just left. She filled him in on the more colorful aspect of her history. They did a DNA test and it’s in the Bureau lab for verification. Does she want to tell him how all of this happened? (I suspect the usual way.)

In the nook, Maxie says, Sasha can tell her anything, and Sasha says, her mother told Maxie. Maxie says, Holly paid a visit to her and her mother, and Sasha says she can’t believe her mother dragged them into her ridiculous lie. Maxie says, what if she’s not lying?

Tracy sees Violet’s suitcase in the foyer and hears Violet in the living room with Brook and Chase. She goes in, and Brook says, they were having a snack before Violet and Chase head to the airport. Violet says, they were really waiting for Tracy. She doesn’t want to leave without saying goodbye.

Laura asks, what complication? and Terry says, Lulu has a condition called portal vein thrombosis. It makes the chances of success exponentially more difficult.

Isaiah tells Elizabeth that he just came from PT and he’s getting stronger. Lucas joins them and says, just the two people he’s looking for.

Chase says, the flight’s been delayed, and Tracy suggests they have a final tea party. She asks Brook and Chase to go tell Yuri to make arrangements, and they leave. Tracy says, Violet’s dad is thrilled with his new job and their new house sounds lovely. Violet says she’ll be glad to see her daddy and the new house, but sad to leave this one and them. She’ll miss them so much. Tracy touches Violet’s face.

Holly says she didn’t set out to deceive Robert. She thought he’d been killed in a boat explosion. Robert says, the explosion Faison set to eliminate him and Anna, and Holly says, the only thing that got her out of bed in the morning was their baby. She couldn’t risk one of his enemies finding out, so she went into hiding. She gave birth and nobody in Port Charles knew. Robert says, she told people Sasha’s father was dead, and she says, as far as she knew, it was the truth. She wanted to give Sasha the best shot at life, so she left Sasha with her mother and made a living so she could send money back. He says, by running cons, and she says, that’s what she does best.

Sasha says, there’s no way her mother is telling the truth that Robert is her father, and Maxie asks if she’s sure. Sasha says, her mother wants her to cut ties with her relationships in Port Charles, so she’s free to join her on her cons with nothing to hold her back. Maxie asks, why would she lie to accomplish that? and Sasha says, one lie and her life falls apart. Holly is selfish, self-absorbed, and her feelings are all that matters. Maxie says, no child should feel that way about their mother, but she doesn’t understand. Why lie about something like this?

Cody says, Lulu has a donor and it’s Sam? and Dante says, Sam’s amazing. It’s one of the reasons why he loves her so much. She’s fearless and does anything for the people she cares about, but he feels guilty spending every waking hour at the hospital with Lulu. Sam has her own things going on with her family, and he hasn’t been there for her. He knows she understands about him being AWOL, but he’s asking the woman he loves to make a huge sacrifice for… Cody says, the other woman he loves.

Jason asks if Sam is okay, and she says she’s fine, but Lulu’s liver is failing. Jason says he was hoping Lucky could be her donor, and Sam says, they all were. Good news though. A donor has been found – it’s me.

Laura says she thought Lulu had been cleared, and Terry says, she was, but the pre-surgery test discovered the portal vein thrombosis. It’s a blood clot in the vein that delivers blood to the liver. The surgeon doing the transplant will have to remove the clot. Laura says, one more step, and Terry says, the odds of success have dropped drastically. Lucky says, just when they have hope, it’s yanked away, and Laura says, if they cancel the surgery, Lulu has zero chance of survival. If they do the surgery, she has a slim chance of survival. She only sees one option. Lucky agrees and says, they have to try. Terry says she wants to make sure she’s being clear. At this point, they believe the surgery will be in vain and in all likelihood, not save Lulu.

Holly says she spent years grieving Robert, then found out he was alive. Robert says, she thought he was dead when she learned she was pregnant. He can’t fault her for that, but what about Ethan? She says, Ribert was devastated when she told him that Ethan was Luke’s, and he says, why not tell him that they had a daughter then? She says she was so close so many times. She couldn’t hurt him more. She loved him too much. He says, she loved him, but didn’t have enough faith in him to trust him with the truth.

Tracy says she’ll miss Violet too, and Violet says, it’s weird to be happy and sad at the same time. Tracy says, a lot of life is like that. Think about the fun they’ll have the next time they see each other.

Lucas says, there’s something about the malfunction that he doesn’t understand, and Isaiah says, he noticed it was too quiet, and he realized the ventilator had powered down, but there was no initial alarm. Elizabeth says she can confirm that. When the second alarm kicked in, she ran to Lulu’s room, and Isaiah was manually resuscitating Lulu. Lucas says, if Isaiah hadn’t gone to see that it wasn’t working, by the time Elizabeth heard the second alarm, it might have been too late.

Lucas asks if Terry is saying they won’t perform the surgery, and Terry says, the donor will have to be informed of the new complication. If they decide they’d still like to do it, they’ll proceed and move forward as scheduled. She wants everyone to have the facts. She’s also talked to the surgeons and none of them has performed surgery under these circumstances, so that’s another factor that decreases their odds. Lucky says, what if he can make the odds better?

Violet says, this is the best tea party ever, and Brook suggests it because they’re using granny’s fancy china. She wasn’t even allowed to touch it when she was young. Tracy says, Brook didn’t appreciate what Violet does. She was talking to Violet’s grandfather Gregory before he passed away, and he said, what a special young lady she is, and they agreed she only deserved special things. That gives her an idea. She calls Yuri in, and says, Violet is leaving them to live with her father in Seattle. Yuri says he’s going to miss Violet very much, and Violet thanks him for helping her and playing hide and seek. He says, her ability to fit in tight spaces is impressive, and Violet says, so is his ability to find her. They hug, and he says he’s going to miss her too. Tracy says, when they’re done, she’d like Yuri to pack up the tea set and send it to Violet’s new address. It will get more use there and Tracy’s mother would want it to be enjoyed. Violet thanks her and says she loves it so much. There’s only one problem. If she has all the teacups, how can they have a tea party on a video call? Tracy has to keep one for herself. Tracy says, Violet is absolutely right, and she loves it.

Lucas says, a dual malfunction, and Elizabeth says, it’s been bothering her. Lucky approaches them and says he needs to talk to Isaiah. Isaiah says, of course (🍷), and they step away. Elizabeth tells Lucas that it looked like Lucky got bad news, and they look at Lulu’s chart on the computer. Elizabeth says, oh, God.  

Dante tells Cody that he loves Lulu, but not in the way Cody means. She’s Rocco’s mother and he’ll always love her, but Sam is the woman he wants to be with. Cody asks if Dante is trying to convince him or himself. He doesn’t know Lulu, but he knows Dante and Rocco, so he has a good sense of who she was. She sounds incredible. Dante says, she’s amazing, but she’s his past. Sam is his here and now, his present and future. She’s the woman he’s in love with and one of the reasons is this amazing thing she’s doing for Lulu.

Sam says, the surgery is tomorrow, and she’ll be in the hospital for about a week. She’s hoping Scout and Danny can stay with Drew at the Quartermaines. Drew says, of course (🍷). Monica loves them and Tracy will be annoyed. Everybody wins. Sam says she knows Drew is dealing with the campaign, but she’s hoping he can spend as much time as possible with Scout. Drew says, happily, and Jason says, she has nothing to worry about. Sam tells Drew not to fall for those puppy dog eyes. They’re his kryptonite. And Jason, no bikes. Stay strong. Jason says he will, and Drew says him too. Jason says, they’ll do what she’s asking, and she thanks them.

In the stairwell, Lucky tells Isaiah that Dr. Randolph thinks Lulu’s odds are much smaller, and Isaiah agrees. Lucky says, her odds might improve if she has a surgeon who’s had experience with portal vein thrombosis. Does he know anyone? Isaiah says, a few, but there’s not enough time to reach out, have them come to Port Charles, and do the surgery. Lucky asks if Isaiah has ever done a transplant on someone with that condition.

Maxie says she’s heard stories about the adventures of Holly, Anna, and Luke, and Holly has a good side. Sasha says, all Maxie knows is what she knows from Holly, and Maxie says, Holly did save Anna, Jason, and Lucky from a dangerous situation in Africa, but Sasha says she’s sure there was something in it for her. Her mother never helps someone out of the goodness of her heart. Maxie wonders if she can’t be both a con artist and also sincere, but Sasha says, her mother lied to her for her entire life, saying her father was dead. She’s lying now. Maxie wonders why she would lie about something that can so easily be proven.  

Holly says, the longer it went on, the thicker the lie became. She knew he’d be angry because of how angry he was at Anna hiding Robin from him. She was too cowardly to tell him. He asks what she was afraid of, and she says, that he’d hate her. He says, she had to know the day would come. Secrets don’t last forever. Holly says, it could have, were it not for Cody. She and Sasha had their ups and downs, mostly downs, but she loves their daughter too much to sit back and watch her fall in love with her cousin. Even she has her limits. Robert says, had she not found out Cody and Sasha were dating, she wouldn’t have told him? and she says, had her hand not been forced, she probably would have kept the secret forever. And the way he’s looking at her is precisely why.

Robert says he hasn’t approved of a lot of things Holly has done, but he’s never known her to be heartless. She says, for what it’s worth (🍷), she’s so sorry, and he says, when the DNA results come back and Sasha finds out the truth… Holly says, Sasha is going to hate her more for losing the man she loves. Robert will be the only person she has to lean on. So look after their daughter. She leaves.

Maxie tells Sasha, family stuff can be complicated, especially with parents. We all make mistakes. She has. Sasha says, so has she. Starting with how she conned Nina into thinking she was her daughter. Maxie says she doesn’t want to make Sasha feel worse, but she wishes she’d heard that Holly was Sasha’s mom from Sasha. She kept a huge secret. Sasha says she’s sorry. She didn’t deliberately hide it from Maxie or anyone. She spent most of her life ignoring the fact she has a mom, and when you spend so much time hiding part of yourself, it’s hard to open up. Maxie says she gets that, and Sasha says, Cody, Brando, and of course (🍷) Liam all showed her that she could be a good person in spite of Holly. Holly made sure she didn’t have a normal childhood or stable parents and she’s not going to let Holly take Cody away from her.

Doc finds Laura in the chapel, and she says, today has been awful. He says, she’s had to be strong for Lulu, Lucky, and everyone. Now it’s her turn to talk, cry, scream, throw things… Whatever she needs, he’s here. Laura says, there will not be any of that. She believes Lulu is fighting to get back, so she’s going to be strong too. He asks if Sam is going to go through with it, but she says she doesn’t know yet. She guesses she’ll understand if Sam doesn’t want to go through with it, but everything in her is praying she will.

Isaiah says, don’t go there, but Lucky says, just answer the question. Isaiah says, yes, and Lucky asks if the patient survived. Isaiah says, they did, and Lucky says, then what’s the problem? Isaiah says he never told Lucky how he ended up in Africa. It was another surgery, a different one. There were complications and he’d promised the family it would be okay, but it wasn’t. He’ll never forget the devastated looks as he broke the news. It was the worst day of his life. That’s why he went to Africa, to do basic medicine. To help people who could be helped and not make promises that can’t be kept. He’s sorry. He can’t save Lucky’s sister. Lucky says he’s not asking Isaiah to save her, but just to give it a try.

Chase says, they’re all packed along with a long list of instructions from Tracy. Violet asks if they can stop somewhere first. She wants to visit her grandpa’s bench one last time. Chase says he thinks that’s a great idea, and Violet tells Chase that Gregory said he was always with her. She’s lucky. Chase is the best uncle ever. They hug, and he says he loves her. She says she loves him too, and Brook says, Chase told her that Violet wants to leave Bella with them. Violet says, it’s for her new baby cousin. She’s so lucky because she’ll have Brook and Chase as her mom and dad. Brook says, she? and Violet says she wants them to have a girl, since they’re good at taking care of her. Brook says, she’s got to visit when the baby comes, since Violet taught her how to be a mom. Violet asks if she can tell Brook a secret. She’s going to miss the scarecrow Brook the most. They hug.  

Drew says, it’s remarkable what Sam is doing for Lulu, and Sam says, her surgery is the easy part. Drew says, Lulu would have no chance without Sam, and Jason thanks her for doing it. Sam says she’s glad to be able to help and asks if Jason would mind spending some quality time with Danny at the Quartermaines. Jason says he absolutely will, and she says she has to say goodbye to the kids and find Dante. She thanks them and leaves.

Dante thanks Cody for keeping him honest. Sam is bringing the kids to the Quartermaine house, and he asks if Cody can take them on a trail ride and keep an eye on them. Cody says, of course (🍷). Everything will be okay. Dante says he knows, and leaves.  

Elizabeth says she loves what she does, but wishes she didn’t understand how Lulu got worse, and Lucas says him too. The numbers don’t lie. Elizabeth says, when it’s somebody you love, you literally trick yourself into believing they’ll defy the odds. Lucas says, if Lulu survives, she’ll still be in a coma. The transplant will let her avoid liver failure, but her quality of life won’t change. He thinks they need to be honest with Laura and Lucky. Elizabeth says she knows he means well, but does he want to be the one to tell them to give up on Lulu?  

Laura says, whatever Sam decides, she’ll be at Lulu’s side until the end, God forbid. So will Lucky. Doc says, Lulu is resilient, and Laura has done everything to give her a fighting chance. Getting Nikolas tested, flying across the world to find Lucky, and she never stopped looking for a donor. She says she’d do again tomorrow, and he says, she’s never given up hope that Lulu will survive. She says, don’t make her a hero. She’s just Lulu’s mom.

Lucky says he’s not asking Isaiah to make any promises. If he gives Lulu a fighting chance, he’ll take care of the rest. Isaiah says, it will take a miracle, and Lucky asks if Isaiah thinks it’s hopeless, just say it. If he’s just scared, please, they need him.

Brook tells Violet to call when she gets to the airport, on the plane before they take off, and when they land, so she knows Violet got there safely. Chase says, they’ll be fine. This is it. We’re all crying, and Brook tells Violet to be good for her Uncle Chase. She loves Violet all the way to the moon… Violet says, and back. They hug, and Tracy says, Violet is a very special young lady, and she’s blessed to have gotten to know her so well. They hug, and Violet says she knows this is Monica’s house because Alan gave it to her, but Tracy has made it feel like home. Tracy asks, who told her to say that? and Violet says, nobody. They hug, and Tracy says, Violet needs to get going. She loves her. Chase says, see them in a few days, and he and Violet go to the door. Violet looks back and Tracy waves. They leave, and Brook says, she’s going to miss Violet so much. Tracy says her too, and they hug. Outside, Chase says, ready? and Violet says, ready.

Holly looks at a diamond and puts it back in the bag. She makes a call and says, this is Holly Sutton. I believe we have some business to discuss, Mr. Corinthos.

Robert flashes back to when he and Holly were babies, and Holly says, they can get a divorce right away, but Robert says, the rules say, she has to stay in America for two years or until a child is born. Immigration is watching them.  

Maxie says she’s got get home, and Sasha says she’s sorry for venting. Maxie says she’s Sasha’s friend and Sasha can come to her about anything. Sasha says, there’s no chance that Holly is telling the truth about Robert being her father.

Elizabeth says, Lucas can act like a doctor and speak in medical terms or be there for Lucky as someone who loves Lulu and is holding on and hoping with them. Lucas says he has no idea what to do, but she says, the answer is obvious. He asks, what is it? and she says, a Spencer never gives up. He says, stubborn comes to mind, and she says, it’s not a bad trait right about now. He says, she’s right about everything. He’s not going to stop fighting. It’s what Lulu would want and what she’d do for him if the situations were reversed.

Doc says he wishes he could bear the weight for Laura, and she says, he’s done so much. He’s her rock and keeps her going. He says he always will, and she says she doesn’t want to be away too long. Isaiah and Lucky come into the chapel, and Lucky says he found a surgeon. One that can hopefully save Lulu.

Tomorrow, Curtis says, it’s time for Marshall to show the world what he can do; Nina says, Ava is interested in Ric; and Jordan hopes Isaiah has one more miracle left in him.

Daisy tells Gary that he’s not in her corner. If he was, she’d always be there for his department, but he’s not. He says he never intended to fight, but she says, that’s not reality. She tells him that looking after her girls is her main priority, and in her interview, she says, this is what Gary does. He’s remorseful and has guilt, then gives a half-assed apology. She forgives him and they move on. It’s a vicious cycle and they never move forward. That’s why they pay for therapy. To break cycles. Daisy tells everyone that last season, they took turns paying, and it worked out well. Everyone is cool with that except Cloyce who says he’s not buying everybody five drinks. Daisy says, they made $1400 today, and that’s how they do things. In Gary’s interview, he says, the chef is the highest paid, and Cloyce continues to whine. He wants to invest his drinking money, not make everyone happy. Daisy toasts to a great summer.

They go back to the boat, where Captain Glenn snoozes through a video about Greece, and in Danni’s interview, she says, the vibe deteriorating rapidly. Where is the party? In Cloyce’s interview, he says, the situation sucks. The best way for him to wind down is to cook, so he goes to the galley. In his interview, he says, it reminds him of school. He got straight As and had a few friends, but a kid he never met said he was an a-hole. From what I’ve seen, they might not have been wrong. He says he has no problem speaking up for himself, but at the same time he’s sensitive and feels like an outsider. Danni talks about Anthony, and Gary goes hunting for oysters in the galley. He and Cloyce open a bottle of wine and finish it. They go outside for a smoke, and Keith joins them. In his interview, Cloyce says, he didn’t sign up to make friends, but there are some cool people he’s getting to know better. Oysters and wine, baby.

5 hours to charter. Captain Glenn calls for the preference sheet meeting and says, charter two is lovely ladies. Amy is a realtor from Texas, coming with her two daughters and some close friends for her 60th birthday. Cloyce reads that guest Stephanie is gluten free, and Daisy reads that they want a boho island dinner with paella. Gary says, they want a floating lounge oasis, and Daisy says, an under the sea night with surf and turf, along with a professional DJ afterward. The captain says, they’re going near Es Vedra, and mermaids on the island go out to the boats. Gary is impressed that Captain Glenn knows mermaids, and the captain says they can hire some. In his interview, the captain says, there are weird legends that mermaids lured seamen to their peril. Aliens were involved. A producer asks if he believes in that, and he says, it’s just an island to him but he thinks it’s cool. Daisy calls the provider about the mermaids, while the stews clean the cabins. Danni says she was scared Diane was going be a bitch, and Diana says she’s glad none of them are bitches. Daisy asks who’s done dinner service, and both Danni and Diana have. She asks who’d like to and Diana says she would. In Danni’s interview, she says, going downstairs to do cabins is literal punishment and incredibly annoying. In Diana’s interview, she says, Danni is like, oh poor me. Get over it. Chill. In Daisy’s interview, she says, they’ll always have to do cabins, and tells the girls, it doesn’t matter. They’re going to get it equally.

1 hour to charter. Gary teaches Emma and Keith how to drive the tender. In his interview, he says he’s the only person who can drive the tender, and unfortunately, the only person who can crash it. He thinks it’s important for everyone that they learn. Emma says, it’s starting to piss her off that she can’t do it properly, and in her interview, she says, it pisses her off when she can’t learn things right away. She’s had a lot of jobs and she’s just hoping she wins the lottery. That would be ideal.

The guests are picked up in the tender and met with champagne and cool towels. Captain Glenn says, they’re excited to celebrate Amy’s 60th and welcomes them. He says, they have great things planned. Daisy shows them around, the guests change, and the sails go up. Things slide and several liquor bottles fly out of the cupboard and smash on the stairs.  

Diana insists the cabinet was closed, while primary Amy almost slides off the boat in her chair, but Gary blocks her. In Daisy’s interview, she says her aim for the season was being super zen about sailing. Now here we are – it’s a complete sh*tshow. The guests can’t see. Amy wonders if there are whales here, and one of her daughters says, no. Just a bunch of alcoholics on the coast. In Cloyce’s interview, he says he wants to prove he’s all about being a team player and contribute to hopefully a big tip at the end. Danni flirts with Keith, and in Keith’s interview, he says, obviously, he’s into Danni, but she likes to fish and has no shame whatsoever. Shame hurts. Shame is real. Danni is nervous that the boho tablescape is going to be tacky, and Daisy says, the tackier the better. In Danni’s interview, she says she loves anything artsy. She took art in school and her dad was like, what the f*** are you going to do with art when you get older? She takes pride in her tables. She looks for bohemian sh*t on the boat.

Davide takes photos of the guests, and the tender begins to bang against the side of the boat. Gary says, the tender slipped away, and asks how Emma tied the line. Guest Lily says, they’re losing the boat, and Gary says, they don’t need it anymore. Ha-ha! In Gary’s interview, he says, they can’t leave the tender banging the boat. It makes noise, and worst of all, it looks like sh*t. He shows Emma how to tie the knot. Danni tells Daisy that she’s nervous about her name being on tacky. She’s passionate about this and Daisy told her to do something that she’d never do. She starts to cry, and in Daisy’s interview, she says she’s confused. What the f***? She tells Danni that she doesn’t have to stress.

Daisy says, it’s too early in the season to freak out, and Danni says, Daisy told her it was tacky and it’s frustrating when she’s passionate about it. Daisy tells Danni to pretend she didn’t say it. She meant over the top. In Daisy’s interview, she says she meant it was visually popping. She can tell Danni cares, plus she’s also hypersensitive. She’ll have to watch her words. She tells Danni not to overthink what she says. The guests come out for dinner, Amy and her daughters wearing flower crowns. They think the table is cute and beautiful. Diana asks Cloyce if everyone is getting the same, and he says, yes. She says, which is? and he says, with cheese? This reminds me of the time my husband stopped by the grocery store after work. He was still dressed for work and a woman asked, you work here? He thought she said, you were here? and he told her, yes, I was here, and they circled that drain for a while.

Lunch is served and it’s a glorious parade of seafood porn starring paella. Guest Teresa complains about her boobs getting bigger, which every female has said never. Cloyce says, so far, he’s doing pretty good, and Daisy tells Emma to have Cloyce plate the dessert. Emma says, it needs to be in the oven for 8 minutes, and tells Cloyce to put the pudding in the oven. Daisy checks on where the dessert is at, and there’s some confusion between her and Cloyce as to what the word clear means. In Cloyce’s interview, he says, deckhands should be removed from the scenario, and Daisy says she thinks they’re going to fight. In her interview, she asks where he thought the big plates came from. It also goes both ways. He has a radio. Ask her. Emma tells Daisy that she told him, and dessert is served. Amy says, it’s Southern comfort food and the best bread pudding she’s ever had. Daisy tells Captain Glenn what happened, and he tells her to let him know if there’s another incident. He doesn’t want to damage Cloyce’s confidence. Daisy talks to Gary and says, Cloyce shouldn’t throw her under the bus. She’s on his side. We flash back to Daisy telling Cloyce that a guest’s steak was too well done and Cloyce saying, that’s because it sat. In her interview, Daisy says, back the f*** off. F***ing own it. She doesn’t think she’ll be taking this sh*t. She tells Gary, everyone has to take responsibility for their own sh*t.

The guests go to bed, and Cloyce says, that’s it for him. In Danni’s interview, she says she keeps pursuing Keith. When they have a good moment, it’s exciting. He doesn’t spill all his secrets, so it’s hot. Gary says, it’s a great start to the season, and Cloyce says, there’s something about Daisy. In Gary’s interview, he says he never met anyone like Cloyce. He’s 22 and wears cufflinks. Daisy would walk all over him. He asks if Cloyce is playing hard to get, and Cloyce says he is hard to get. While breakfast begins, Gary tells Captain Glenn that he’s going to scout where to set up the Floatopia. He tells the deckhands to inflate everything inflatable and tie them all together. Davide tries to sit on one, but Emma says, it’s part of a game. He finds out he’s sitting on a cornhole target which somehow seems fitting.  Cloyce says he’d like to go to the Floatopia, and Daisy is like, what about lunch? He tells her that the salad is prepped and he’s putting chicken and salmon in the fridge for a light lunch. On deck, Amy thinks the red and yellow flag the Perceval flies is a pirate flag because of the colors. I don’t know about you, but I usually associate pirates with a black flag that has a skull and crossbones on it. They google it and find out it’s Spanish. In Gary’s interview, he says he doesn’t think Emma is taking this seriously enough, and fixes her inferior inflatables. Say that three times real fast.

Emma says she thought she was doing the right thing and doesn’t think Gary is being fair snapping at her. Cloyce says he’s stoked to offer assistance to the deck team and getting some Spanish sunshine is quite lovely. The guests are taken to whatever this floatie thing is🧐, and they lounge, snorkel, and use the wave runners. In Gary’s interview, he says, Cloyce is the chef, but he’s meant to be prepping. What is he making? French fries and chicken nuggets? In Diana’s interview, she says she’s trying to do her job, and Cloyce is trying to steal her job. His job is to be in the galley.

Wandering around the boat, Captain Glenn says he doesn’t see much prep in the galley. He looks for Cloyce, but can’t find him. Gary radios the boat for sun cream and the captain says he’ll meet Gary at the swim platform. He wonders where the chef is, and Gary says, he’s with them. Captain Glenn says, he’s got to come back in time to prep. Bring him back now. In the captain’s interview, he says, the chef is here for a purpose. He’s not a guest. He likes strong people around him who he can trust, and he’s starting to worry. What is he thinking? We see Cloyce wave running with the guests, and Captain Glenn tells Gary, get him back here now.  

Next time, Captain Glenn says, the island is haunted by mermaids; Daisy says, alarm bells are going off in her head; and Diana thinks Danni is stupid. She could very well be right.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

Lucky comes out to find Elizabeth in the living room and asks if he’s in the right apartment.

Brook tells Violet that she and Chase have to talk to her about something. They have some really great news. Violet asks if it’s about her dad. Can she visit him soon? Brook says, it is about her dad, and Chase says, he’s been released from the hospital. So she doesn’t have to visit him. Violet asks if her dad is going to visit her here, and Chase says, even better. She’s moving back in with her dad. Violet hugs Chase.

At Alexis’s house, Sam thanks Kristina and Molly for coming so early, and Kristina says, of course (🍷). Mom said it was important. Sam says, it is, and Molly says, she’s starting to freak them out. What’s this all about? Kristina says, she’s not sick or anything, is she? but Sam says, no. She’s fine. Better than fine. It turns out she’s going to be Lulu’s donor.

At Lulu’s bedside, Tracy says she knows this has been a wild ride, like the world’s most nauseating roller coaster. But she’s going to be all right. She hopes Lulu can hear her. Lulu is going to be just fine. She promises. Laura stands in the doorway.

Holly goes to Maxie’s place and Felicia answers the door. Felicia says, what a pleasant surprise, and Holly says she’s looking for Felicia’s husband. Is Mac here? Felicia says, he’s not. Is there anything she can help Holly with? Holly says, maybe. She nearly went to her grave keeping a terrible secret from her daughter. Maxie asks, what daughter?

Sasha goes to Robert’s office, and he asks what he can do for her. She says, first, she needs Robert to get one thing straight. He is not her father.

Felicia asks how Holly could not tell her that she had a daughter, and Holly says, it’s been very painful keeping this secret, especially from the people she loves. Felicia says, and supposedly trusts, and Maxie asks, where is this supposed daughter? Holly says, she’s here in Port Charles, and they both know her. It’s Sasha. Maxie says, Sasha Sasha? and Felicia says, she doesn’t mean their Sasha, but Holly says she does. Maxie says, Sasha Corbin is her daughter? and Holly says, yes. Maxie says, no. That’s not possible. She and Sasha are friends. They work together. They’re involved in each other’s romantic lives. Never, in the entire time she’s known her, has Sasha ever mentioned Holly’s name. Holly says, probably because Sasha would rather she weren’t her mother, and Felicia says, Holly came here looking for help. She has to be honest with them. Holly says, it’s a long story. Felicia says, long story or not, they deserve to know the truth.

Robert says, if Sasha doesn’t mind him asking… Sasha says her mother is Holly Sutton. Of course (🍷), Holly never told her the truth about who her father was. She’s a con artist. She literally tells lies for a living… which is probably something she shouldn’t tell the DA. Not that he seems surprised by that information. He says he and Holly were married, and she says, him and her mother? How long? He says, good question. There were times Holly thought he was dead and times he thought she was dead, and throughout the years, a lot of chaos. She says, that sums up her mother’s whole life. Never a dull moment. He asks why she didn’t say something the last two times Holly was in Port Charles, and she says she and her mother have nothing to do with each other, and she needs to keep it that way. That’s why she’s here. She needs to prove that her mother is lying about him. Then she can cut her mother out of her life for good. He says, not that he would know one way or the other, but why would she lie about this?

Laura tells Tracy, good morning, and Tracy says she just wanted a moment alone with Lulu. She jets, but Laura follows her. Laura says she was actually thinking about Tracy on the way over. She doesn’t think she ever thanked Tracy properly for looking after Ace. Tracy says she was happy to help, and Laura says she wants Tracy to know it really meant a lot to her. Tracy tells her, that being said, her grandson is a terror. They’re repainting the walls in the nursery. Laura looks horrified and asks what he did to the walls, and Tracy laughs. She says, what didn’t he do. Not to worry. She’s covering the cost. Laura says, that’s very generous of her, and Tracy says she knows it is. Laura says she just wants Tracy to know that she’s aware it’s not the first time Tracy has stepped up for her family. She’ll never forget how Tracy cared for Lulu when she couldn’t.

Violet asks why her dad didn’t come and get her, and Chase says, he’s busy making sure everything is just right so they can be together again. Violet says, being together will make everything just right, but Chase says, she knows her dad. He just wants everything to be perfect. Which is why – he looks at Brook and she nods – which is why he’s gone to Seattle. He got a job at a hospital there and he has a really nice house and it’s right next to a great school. Violet says, if she goes to a new school, Garth won’t be there, and Chase says, that’s right. Violet asks when they can leave, and he says, how soon can she pack? She says she needs to find her suitcase, and runs off. Brook tells Chase that she needs a minute, and leaves. Outside the door, she starts to cry.

Lucky says, Sam McCall? Did they run the second screening? Elizabeth says, immediately. She passed with flying colors. He says, so this is really happening, and she says, the surgery’s already been scheduled. Yes, this is really happening. He hugs her.

Kristina asks when this is happening, and Sam says, as soon as possible. Molly says, let them know if she needs anything, before the procedure or when she’s recuperating, and Kristina says, anything at all, they’re here. Sam says, Alexis is being quiet, and Alexis says she just loves Sam so much and she’s so proud of her. Sam says, stop making a bigger deal than what this is, but Alexis says, this is a very big deal. Kristina says, it is. She never saw this coming. She thought Sam was going to talk about what happened with Ric. Molly asks what she means, and Kristina says, they caught Ric having dinner with Ava Jerome. They were laughing and having cocktails and just acting like nothing ever happened. She found it pretty disrespectful to both of them, so she had to say something. Molly says, no. Kristina didn’t have to say anything. She never has to say anything. She just does. Kristina says, mom was there, and asks Alexis to back her up. Molly asks what Kristina said and how many people saw, and Alexis says she got there after everything. Molly says, everything? and Kristina says she knocked over Ric’s glass and it broke. That’s all. Molly says, let her guess. Kristina was yelling the whole time, in a crowded restaurant full of witnesses. Does she really not understand how she just helped Ava’s defense?

Elizabeth asks if Lucky is okay, and he says, yeah. She says, he can hug her, especially with news this good, and he says, it’s not that. It’s just the past few days. All he could think about are how the choices he’s made in his life are somehow going to cost his sister hers. She says, they all have to make choices. There’s no way he could predict this was going to happen. He says he knows. It’s just that he still feels like he let his little sister down. She says, if there’s one thing she’s learned from working at the hospital, it’s that there are going to be days of sadness and grief and despair, and those days are no one’s fault. It’s part of life. He says, sometimes life can be pretty damn terrible, huh? and she says, and it can be really great. Today’s a great day. He should appreciate it. He says, she’s right… as always, and she says she doesn’t know about that, but he’s scoring really big points for saying it. He says he appreciates her coming by with this update, and she says, it’s her pleasure. Actually, he’s not the real reason she’s here. He says, then why? and they hear Ace on the monitor. She picks it up and says, today, she’s a nurse and a babysitter. He says, seems like old times, and she says, things have changed a little. She’s twenty bucks an hour now. He says, highway robbery, and she says she’s still going to raid the fridge. She goes to the kitchen.

Holly says she realized when she was pregnant that she couldn’t give up another child. Not after the pain of abandoning Ethan. Maxie asks if she’s talking about her pain or his pain, and Felicia says, Maxie, please. She tells Holly, continue, and Holly says she also realized she was in no position to raise a child. Felicia says, what did she do? and Holly tells her that her mother said she would look after the baby. So she settled Sasha with her grandmother in Chappaqua and visited as often as she could. Maxie says, in between scams, and Holly says she wasn’t winning any mother of the year awards. She wasn’t the one Sasha ran to when she skinned her knee or performed in a school play. She was pretty much a mother in name only. It was her grandmother who raised her, but she did teach Sasha everything she knew. Felicia says, about what? and Holly says, about what she does and how she does it. And Sasha wasn’t just a good pupil, she was a natural.

Sasha says, the reason her mother told her this, according to her, is that she’s in a relationship with Cody Bell, and Robert says, who happens to be his nephew. He can see how that would be a concern. She says, only if it’s true. She doesn’t know why her mother is trying to get between her and Cody, but she’s not going to let her get away with it. Which is why she’s hoping he’ll agree to a paternity test. He says, of course (🍷), and she thanks him. He says he can drop by GH at the end of the day and do it then, and she says, about GH. She’s sure he knows her mother can be more than a little resourceful. He says, she’s concerned that Holly will get wind of this and tamper with the end result to come out the way she wants it to. She says, pretty much, and he says, then they’ll use the WSB lab. She says, he can do that? and he says, watch me. He picks up a desk phone and says, Jack? I need a favor. (I guess it must be a hotline to Jack’s desk.)

As Chase helps her pack, Violet asks, how far away is Seattle? and Chase says, by plane, it’s about six hours. She asks if he and Aunt Brook are moving to Seattle too, but he says, no. They can’t. Their whole lives are here, but they’ll definitely come visit. She says she’s going to miss them a lot, and Chase says he’s going to miss her too. She says, but he’ll be all right, and he says, why is that? She says, because he and Brook Lynn will have a baby of their own. He laughs and says, we’ll see about that. They continue to pack, and Violet tells him that he can give Bella the pig and Otto the owl to the baby. He says, but she loves Bella and Otto. Is she sure? She says she’s too old for stuffed animals (I feel like I just got shamed by a 9-year-old about my own collection of them), and he says, how about this? Bella will stay here in Port Charles, and she can take Otto to Seattle. That way, no matter where she is, it will always feel like home.

Ned says he’s glad Finn’s doing well, and Lois says, yeah, but why Seattle? Can you even get a decent bagel in Seattle? He tells her, say that again, and she says, Seattle. He says, bagel, and she says, bagel? He tells her, say the whole thing, the whole sentence, and she says, can you even get a decent bagel in Seattle? He says, there it is, and she says, there what is? He says, her beautiful accent is back, and she says, he really thinks it’s beautiful? He says, strangely, he does, and she thanks him. She says, so does she, and he says, no more of Miss Finch’s proper diction? She says she only learned that for work. She never planned on using it for the rest of her life. He says, she talked like that for weeks, and she says, like playing the guitar or skiing or learning an accent, you got to work at it until it becomes second nature, until you’re comfortable with it. She’s comfortable with it, so she doesn’t have to practice anymore. She drops her accent and says she plans on using Miss Finch’s pronunciation when she’s on Home & Heart. Back to Brooklynese, she says, but she’s going to use her own pronunciation for the rest of the time. He says, she’s really amazing, and she says, thanks for noticing. But back to the original conversation, okay? She doesn’t know why Finn isn’t mending fences at GH and staying where he belongs. Ned says he didn’t know she was so attached to Finn, and she says she’s not. It’s just… you know. He says he’s going to miss Violet too, and she says, yeah. Brook comes in and says, sorry. She didn’t know anyone was in here, but Lois says, Brook’s not going anywhere until she tells her what’s wrong. With tears in her voice, Brook says, she’s what’s wrong, and Lois asks if this has got anything to do with Violet leaving so suddenly. Brook says she knows Violet belongs with her father. It’s wonderful. They’ll get a fresh start together. But she can’t stop thinking about how much she’s going to miss her. She’s started thinking about Violet as a daughter. Just like she did with Bailey Lou. She had to give Bailey Lou up. How is she supposed to do that again?

Isaiah gets off the hospital elevator, and Lucas introduces himself. He says he’s Lucky Spencer’s cousin, and Isaiah says, nice to meet him. Lucas asks how his recovery is going, and Isaiah says, why? What has he heard? Lucas says, about his progress? Nothing. About him second guessing every specialist who tries to treat him? He’s heard a little about that. Isaiah says he’s sure his physical therapist would like to beat him to death with his knee brace, and Lucas says, admitting you’re wrong is the first step to making things right. Isaiah tells him that he never said he was wrong, and Lucas says he noticed that. Anyway, the whole hospital is talking about how he saved Lucas’s cousin Lulu. Nice work. Isaiah says he’s just glad he was there, and Lucas says him too. Because they both know that ventilator shouldn’t have failed.

Lucky says, so his mom asked Elizabeth to babysit Ace, and Elizabeth says, yeah. She wanted to get to the hospital before Lulu had her procedure and the nanny isn’t coming until later, so she said she’d watch this little guy. He says, he’s not so little, and she says, no. She can remember Aiden this size like it was yesterday. Lucky says, what was he like? and she asks, what does he want to know? He was a lot of things. He says, everything, and she says, he loved music. He was always bouncing to the beat on the radio and banging on his little piano. He loved to sing. He says, is that right? and she says, they both know she can’t carry a tune, so she knows he got that musical gene from him.

Laura says, when she was in the hospital for all that time, it was Tracy who stepped up and gave Lulu the care and guidance she couldn’t give her. She’ll always be grateful to Tracy. Tracy says, having stepmotherhood thrust upon her was the last thing she wanted, especially considering the stepdaughter involved was… How can she put this delicately? Laura says, why start now? and Tracy says, so much like her father. Laura says, she was always very headstrong, and Tracy says, that’s a euphemism. Did Laura know that Lulu called her stepmonster? Laura says, oh no. That’s so rude. She’s sorry. Tracy says, she was selfish, inconsiderate, reckless… Laura says, like Tracy told her, Lulu was a lot like her father, and Tracy says, and just as glorious. Caring for Laura’s daughter was a privilege, nothing less. She wipes the tears from Laura’s cheeks, and Laura takes her hands.

Holly says, when Sasha turned twelve, she started to take Sasha on her travels. Trips to Europe, beautiful clothes… It was a one-on-one education of the finer things in life. She tried to shower Sasha with all the love and affection she had, which turned out to be quite a bit. No one was more surprised than her. Maxie says, but Sasha wanted to keep her at arm’s length? and Holly says, Sasha never really wanted anything to do with her. So that’s that. Felicia says, except for, so far she hasn’t mentioned a word about who Sasha’s father is. Holly says, when Sasha was born, she had every reason to believe her father was dead. And then, years later, when she found out he wasn’t, it was too late to show up at his door with the happy news. Felicia says, does dad have a name? and Holly says, something tells her that Felicia already knows. Felicia says she has a pretty good idea, but she hopes for Sasha’s sake that she’s wrong.

Kristina says, for once, her dad isn’t the bad guy here. Molly’s is. Molly says, Kristina is the one who caused a scene in public, not him, and Kristina says, this is all about Molly blaming her for Adela’s death. Molly says, her name is Irene, and Sam says, come on. Knock it off. Alexis tells them to listen to their sister. Stop it. Molly says, her dad is going to use everything Kristina did in that restaurant to prove that she’s angry and violent. She might as well have signed an affidavit saying Ava’s not at fault. Sam says, that’s a little harsh, and Molly says, so now Sam is going to side with Kristina? Sam says, no. She loves them both. She’s not siding with either one of them. Kristina says, what? So she’s going to turn her back on both of them instead of just siding with one of them? (Ha-ha! Sam can’t win.)

As they walk, Isaiah tells Lucas that he saw Lulu’s ventilator had been powered down. So he grabbed the Ambu bag and started ventilating her. Nurse Baldwin showed up and started CPR, and they kept her stabilized until the ventilator was able to be replaced. Lucas says, the ventilator just powered down like somebody turned it off? and Isiah says, the simplest explanation is that somebody touched something that they shouldn’t have. Lucas says, what’s the complicated version? and Isaiah asks what Lucas is thinking. Lucas says, that maybe someone did this on purpose, and Isaiah says, can’t rule that out. Which begs the question, who would tamper with a ventilator? And who would know how? Lucas tells him that he’d say, go to the usual suspects, but this town is infested with the usual suspects. Isaiah says he got that impression from Lucky. The way he sees it, if someone did this deliberately, they should be talking to the police.

Gio brings in a large suitcase on wheels, and Chase asks what he’s got there. Gio says he heard about Violet’s adventure and thought she might need this, and she says, it’s so big. He says, it has to be if she’s going to take everything she owns to Seattle. She says, there’s so much, and he says, they’ll figure it out together. Chase says, it looks like they have everything under control, so he’s going to leave them to it. He leaves, and Gio says, so Seattle. That’s so cool. Violet says she’s going to watch ferry boats from her window, and he says, sweet. What else is she looking forward to? She says, seeing her dad, and he says, of course (🍷). What else? She says she’s a little nervous to start a new school, but she’s hoping the kids there will be nice. He says, it makes total sense to be nervous. Lucky for her, he changed schools a bunch of times and picked up a few tricks along the way. She says, tell her everything.

Ned tells Brook, caring for a child bonds you to them. Isn’t that right, Lois? Lois says, yes, it does, and Brook says she really has to go fix her makeup because Violet is going to be down here any minute. She can’t let Violet see her this way. Ned asks if Chase knows how she feels, and she says, God no. He asks, why not? and she says, because as hard as it is for her to say goodbye to Violet, it’s going to be even harder for Chase. She needs to hold it together. At least until she’s gone. Chase says, no, she doesn’t, and walks into the room. She says, he wasn’t supposed to hear that, and he says, it’s a good thing she’s terrible at keeping secrets. And just so she knows, he feels the same way. He hugs her.

Maxie says, Robert. Mac’s brother. Cody, Sasha’s boyfriend’s father. That Robert. Holly says, yes. Robert is Sasha’s father and Cody’s uncle, which makes Sasha and Cody first cousins. Maxie says, no, and Felicia says she thinks Holly would know who her child’s father is. Maxie says she has science on her side, and Felicia did that DNA test between Mac and Cody, and then Sasha swapped Cody’s sample out for hers, so… Holly says she thought of that, and Felicia says, not helpful. Not then, not now. Holly says, sorry, and Felicia says she sees what Maxie is getting at, but the test she had run was only to determine paternity between two subjects. It was a yes or no answer. No percentages. Maxie says, so science is not on her side, and Holly says, Robert is Sasha’s father, and Sasha and Cody can’t be together. Those are the facts, but Sasha refuses to believe her. Maxie says she can’t imagine why, and Holly says, since her daughter won’t listen to her, she was hoping that Mac could break the news to his son, gently. Felicia says she can’t believe how far off course Holly is. Of course (🍷) she has to talk to somebody, but it’s not Mac. Holly says, who? and Felicia says, Robert.

Robert tells Sasha, that’s that. Hair samples are on their way to the Bureau lab. She tells him, thanks again for being so understanding and patient. She knows he must have whiplash right now. He says, not for the first time, especially not with Holly, and she says, it’s hard enough to deal with her when she’s your wife, but when she’s your mother, rolling with the insanity Holly threw at her was not a great way to grow up. Robert tells her that he’ll say this. Holly’s methods may be questionable, but her heart’s in the right place… usually. Sasha tells him, that’s what she always says to her marks. She’s sorry. Robert says, she doesn’t hear him disagreeing with her, does she? and she says, of all the men her mother could claim were her father, she’s glad Holly chose him. He thanks her and says, the feeling’s mutual. She says, don’t get too attached. The results aren’t in yet. She leaves, and Robert looks troubled.

Elizabeth says she’s off to work, and Lucky says he’s glad they had a chance to catch up. She says her too, and he says, just out of curiosity, did Aiden ever take music lessons? and she says, once he became obsessed with baking, music kind of took a backseat. He says, at least he found something he loves and he’s good at, and she says she still doesn’t know where that talent came from. Lucky should talk to him about music. She thinks he’d like it. Lucky says, yeah. He thinks he’ll do that. She says she’s off to work, and he says he’s right behind her. He just has to call a Ride Share. She says, he still doesn’t have a car? and he says he’s working on it. She asks if he’d like her to give him a ride, and he asks if she’s sure. She says, come on. He can serenade her like old times. He says, speaking of singing, does she remember when they sang Jailhouse Rock at the Nurses Ball? She says, don’t remind her, and he says, they were good. He was good. She asks if he wants that ride or not, and they leave.

Holly says, Felicia’s right. She absolutely has to talk to Robert. Felicia says she’ll be following up with Robert in an hour. Holly says, you win, and Maxie says she doesn’t think there are any winners here. Holly leaves, and Maxie tells Felicia, thank you. Felicia says, for what? and Maxie says, being here. She knows there was a time Felicia wasn’t, and she gave her a pretty hard time about it. Felicia says she deserved it, and Maxie says, maybe then, but definitely not now. And she’s really lucky to have Felicia. Felicia says she’s the lucky one, and Maxie asks if she thinks Holly and Sasha are going to find their way back to each other. Felicia says she honestly doesn’t know. She hopes so.

Brook wants to say goodbye to Violet without crying, but Chase says he’s sure they’re all going to be a mess. Isn’t that right, Lois? Lois says, yeah. It’s gonna be messy. Brook says, that’s the problem. She doesn’t want to upset Violet. Chase says, she won’t. He promises. She was just talking about planning a trip to visit her future cousin. Brook says, that’s a little premature, but she does like Violet’s optimism. She knows Violet being with her dad is what’s best for them. Did he see the look on Viollet’s face when he told her that she was going to be with her dad again? He says, she can’t wait to see him, and Brook says, maybe they should help her pack. He says, Gio’s got it under control, and she says, good. She doesn’t know if she can bear it. Lois asks them to excuse her for a minute, and leaves. Chase says, look at the bright side. Brook’s not alone. They’re all going to have a hard time saying goodbye. Ned says, that’s right, because Violet’s family, and Brook says, oh no. No, no, no, no, no, no. Chase asks, what’s wrong? and Brook says, Violet is leaving, and they forgot to tell Tracy.

Tracy says, the only person happier than her when Laura came home was Lulu, and Laura says she slept for such a long time. It’s terrible to be stuck in your head like that. Tracy says she’s sure Lulu knows that better than anybody right now. Laura needs to know that the entire time she was gone, Lulu never gave up hope. Lulu knew she would come back to her. Laura says, and Lulu will come back to her. Terry comes out and tells Laura that they need to talk about Lulu’s surgery, and Laura follows her out.

Sam says she’s not turning her back on either one of them, and Molly and Kristina start arguing. Sam asks them to stop it. Please. It’s the last thing she needs today. Alexis says, she’s right. Sam is always there for both of them, and today, she needs their support. Do they think they could manage that? Molly says, fine. She’ll make nice. Because that’s what she’s always expected to do. Kristina says, this is her being nice? and Sam says she’s had enough of this. She has to go drop her kids off at the Quartermaines before she goes to the hospital. Bye. She leaves, and Alexis asks if they’re proud of themselves.

Gio and Violet sit on the suitcase, and Violet says, there’s too much stuff. It’s not gonna fit. He tells her, what do we say? Never give up… They both say, never surrender. He zips the suitcase and says, see? He told her they’d get in everything she needed. She says, not everything, and he says, goodbyes are hard, but she’s going to be with her dad. That’s the most important thing. Lois watches from the doorway.

On the phone, Brook says, hi, granny. When is she coming home? Tracy says she has no idea. Whatever it is, can it wait? Brook says, it’s Violet, and Tracy asks if something is wrong. Brook says, not at all. In fact, everything is great. Violet is going home.

Sasha straightens up the nook, when Maxie walks in. Sasha asks, what brings her by? and Maxie says, they’re friends and Sasha knows she can tell her anything, right? Sasha says, her mother told Maxie.

Holly goes to Robert’s office, and he says, come in. How is the day treating her thus far? She says she’s glad he’s here. There’s a deeply personal matter that she needs to discuss with him. He says, sounds serious, and she says, it is. It could change everything. He says, don’t keep him in suspense, and she wonders how to put it into words. He says, how about, Robert, you have a daughter?

Alexis tells Kristina and Molly, they say there’s no wrong way to grieve, but she’ll be damned if the two of them haven’t found one. Kristina says, wait. What? Alexis says, they heard her. Now she needs the two of them to get past their pain and see what their endless sniping is doing to this family. Molly says, that isn’t fair, and Kristina says she’s trying. Alexis says, she is not trying. Neither one of them is making an effort. (Preach!) They should be helping each other through this, healing together. But they’re so hellbent in trying to take a piece out of each other, they’re choosing to burn this family to the ground.

Terry says, the transplant team has come across a potential complication with Lulu’s surgery, and Laura asks, what kind of a complication? Please tell her that they’re still planning on doing the transplant. Lucky and Elizabeth join them.

On Monday, Lucky says he can make those odds better; Robert asks why Holly didn’t tell him then that they had a daughter; Cody asks if Dante is trying to convince him or himself; and Violet tells Tracy that she didn’t want to leave without saying goodbye.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

In the solarium, Drew talks to someone on the phone about contributions, when Willow walks in. She says she thought Michael would be here, and Drew says, he should be here any minute. She puts some keys on the table and starts to leave. He asks if they can’t even be in the same room, but she says she has a busy day. He says, they should talk, when Ned walks in. He asks if he’s interrupting something.

Sasha finds Cody in the nook and asks what he’s hiding. Is it a present? Is it something naughty? He says, Serenity is on the market, and she says, call a realtor. They do virtual tours now. He says, it’s on the market at $6 million.  

On the phone, Tracy tells someone at the school that she wants a roster of who witnessed Violet’s emotional distress, when Brook takes the phone out of her hand. She says, disregard that. No one is suing anyone. She hangs up and tells Tracy that they just put out a fire at Violet’s school, and now she wants to start another one? Going after a little boy isn’t going to help. Tracy says she’s going after his parents, and Olivia comes in. She asks, what’s the racket?  

Laura tells Lulu that she knows how hard it is, but try to hang on a little bit longer. She knows Lulu can do it.

Dante meets Sam at the batting cages, and she tells him that he needs to focus on practicing. The softball playoffs are coming up. Dante says he’s not in the mood, and she asks if he’s going to let those sons of bitches at The Invader take the pennant. He takes the bat from her.

On the phone, Elizabeth tells someone to send her the final report. She’ll be ready as soon as she gets it. Isaiah comes by, and she asks, how’s the knee? He says, better. He just came from PT and thought he’d check on Lucky. Is he getting prepped? She says she thought he’d heard. Lucky can’t be Lulu’s donor. They were all disappointed, especially Lucky. He says he’s sure Lucky took it hard, and Elizabeth says, it looks like she may still have a chance.

Martin asks Laura how Lulu is doing, and she says, they’ve both had better days, but she’s not giving up. Is that him? He says, don’t start. He’s taking his new look for a test drive. Does she want to stretch her legs and gab a bit? She says, sounds good.

Willow says, if they’d make sure Michael gets his keys, she’d appreciate it, and she leaves. Ned tells Drew that the lawyers successfully argued that Valentin’s shares be returned to the company, but it will be a couple of months before they’re returned. He and Michael can take care of the details if Drew trusts them to do it. They all want the same thing. Drew says, to keep the company in the family and secure its future, and Ned says, they’ll keep him apprised. Drew says he’d like to discuss it with Michael, but Ned asks if he doesn’t have better things to do. Drew says, like what?

Sasha says, it might seem like a big place, but that doesn’t mean Cody shouldn’t go after it. He says, it won’t just be for him, and she says she doesn’t know if she’s ready… but he says, not that yet. He wants to fix the place up and create a rescue, an animal sanctuary. He can invite the Scorpios to visit and teach James to ride on his own horse. As soon as he found out, he’s been dreaming about it every day. He always felt a connection to it. Nothing ever measures up to the possibility of going home. She says, then go for it. Whatever it takes. He’ll find a way to make it happen. He says, there’s no time. This might be his only chance. She asks how he would feel if he let it pass, and Cody says he has one idea. Does she think Tracy might lend him the money for a down payment?

Brook says she and Chase handled it, and Tracy says she’s afraid the school doesn’t have Violet’s best interests at heart. Their primary objective is to protect themselves. Violet’s well-being is secondary. She has to do what’s necessary since Finn isn’t here. They hear Ace cry on the monitor, and Tracy says she’ll take it. Olivia says she never asked Tracy to take care of Ace, and Brook says, she’s threatening to sue the parents of a 9-year-old. Olivia says, it’s kind of badass, but Brook says, don’t encourage her. She doesn’t understand that she’s just making everything worse.

Dante practices batting and Sam brings over some hot dogs. He thanks her for being so good to him, and she says, he takes care of everybody and deserves an afternoon off… But not a dry dog. She forgot the mustard.

Laura tells Martin that Lulu hasn’t worsened, but unfortunately, Lucky can’t be a donor. He says he’s sorry. He got tested, but he’s not a match. Is there anything else he can do? She says, explain the sudden transformation.

Elizabeth says she found out there’s another possible donor, but she’s waiting to get all the information before she tells the family. Isaiah says, that’s wise, and she says, after finding out lucky didn’t pass the second screening… He says he’s sorry her family is going through this, and she says, they tend to take donations for granted. He says, transplants aren’t possible without the extraordinary gift so someone can continue living, and she says, not everyone is willing to make that sacrifice, especially if they’re not related.

Sasha says she’s not sure Tracy will go for it, and Cody says, she’s right. It’s a lot of money to lend the guy who keeps her horses. It was a bad idea. She tells him that she said she’s not sure. Clearly, Tracy likes him. Tracy comes in and says, Ace woke up hangry. And the chocolate pudding cup he was given only insured his emotional pain. She asks if it can be switched with vanilla, and Sasha says she just bought some. She’ll get it. She leaves, and Tracy asks Cody, what’s the smirk for?

Olivia tells Brook that Violet needs all of them in her life. Tracy will never stop fighting for the people she cares about, and if Brook tells Tracy that she said that, she’ll deny it. Brook says, her secret is safe, but she wishes Tracy didn’t feel the need to take on this particular fight. Olivia says she thinks Tracy wants to do what she can for Violet because there’s nothing she can do for Lulu.

Dante says he needed this. It’s hard taking a leave of absence. Sam asks if he regrets it, but he says, not at all. The timing is perfect. He’s glad that her mom’s trial is over. She says, that makes two of us, and he says he ran into Dex at the station. Dex told him that they found the gun her mom threw in the river. Sonny was going to a meeting to confess in order to get her mom out, and after all these years of walking the tightrope between son and cop, there he was nearly putting his career on the line to stop him.

Elizabeth asks if Isaiah has heard from Lucky, but he says, Lucky hasn’t reached out. He assumes Lucky left town. Elizabeth says she hopes not, and he says, Lucky might need distance. She asks if that’s what he’d do, and he says he and Lucky understand each other. He admits he’s dipped when it got too real, and she says, sometimes it feels like the only solution is walking away. He says, there was a surgery that didn’t go as planned. They learn in med school that sometimes people die, but that doesn’t change the fact that he walked away. He ran away as far as he could. She says, refugee camps aren’t the easy way out, and he says, that didn’t change what happened or that he ran away, but he thinks Lucky is wrong this time. He thinks they need him to stay.

Martin says he needed a confidence boost after Lucy, and Laura says, when Lucy sees the new him, he might be in for a few more go arounds. He says, she already tried, but he’s been able to withstand her charms. He thought a new haircut and suit would go with the new him, as well as a new sound. He was tired of people asking him about fried chicken and has his talented vocal coach Miss Finch to thank. Laura says, for what it’s worth (🍷), she loved the old him too, and he says he’s sorry he wasn’t here when she was going through all this, but she says, he’s here now. All they can do is pray they find a donor before they’re out of time. He asks if she minds if he kisses his niece before he takes off, and she says, of course (🍷) not. They go back to Lulu’s room and find Cyrus there. He says, the poor girl was here all alone.

Sasha tells Tracy that Cody was telling her about an interesting idea, and Cody says he’s thinking of switching from oats to alfalfa. Tracy says she supports that decision, takes the pudding cup, and leaves. Cody says he clutched, but Sasha says, his instincts were right. He needs to show that he’s thought this through. Make a business plan and try again. He says, or scrap it. Tracy might think he was pretending to be her friend hoping for a payday. There was a time he would have, but not anymore. He has so much to lose now.

Ned tells Drew to let them take care of the details, when Michael walks in. He says, sorry he’s late. He asks if it’s about Valentin’s shares, and Ned says he was giving Drew a proposal regarding equally dividing the shares between the next generation of Quartermaines, including Leo and any children Brook might have. It puts ELQ back in the family’s hands and secures the future. Drew says, the kids are too young to vote. They’ll need proxies. Ned says he can represent them until they’re of age and ELQ belongs to the future Quartermaines, and Drew says, there’s no rush, but Ned says, the shares will need to be put in a blind trust. Drew asks, who would be the trustee? Him? Ned says, it stands to reason, but Drew says he’s not ready. Ned says he thinks with Drew’s record with the SEC, he’d like to get it done, and Drew says he’ll have to get back to Ned. Michael says, they’ll table it for now, and Ned says he thought the only way for them to get through this was together. So much for family unity. He leaves.

Brook tells Olivia that she’s trying to be understanding. Tracy is second guessing her decisions and she’s already doing that herself. Olivia says, Brook and Chase were thrown into the deep end of parenting. Don’t take no or we’ll see for an answer and don’t be ashamed to ask for help. They can’t do it alone. Ned comes in and says he should have known they’d betray him. Drew and Michale are trying to freeze him out again. Olivia suggests they continue outside, and they go into the foyer. Ned says he can’t believe he believed Michael’s crap about family unity, and she says, he’s her husband and she loves him, but she can’t do this right now.

Dante tells Sam that Anna was going to let Sonny confess, but Sonny didn’t have to because Martin came in with the news. Sonny clammed up, but he was on the verge of deciding between being a cop and a son. Sam says, it’s hard to think straight when one parent is in trouble, but he has so many people. With Lulu’s condition, it’s no wonder everything is blurry now. He says, the person he thinks it’s taken the most toll on… She says, Rocco, and he says, the only thing that matters is that he’s a good father. She says, he’s a great dad, and he says, is he? He made Rocco a promise he doesn’t think he can keep.

Laura says she thought Cyrus was going to notify her when he wanted to see Lulu, but Cyrus says he was visiting other patients. He expected to see her, but Lulu was alone. She thanks him for keeping Lulu company, and he says, they need to pray together that Lulu will soon be delivered from this terrible ordeal.

Elizabeth tells Isaiah that she doesn’t know if Lucky ran, but she thinks he’s disappointed that he couldn’t save his sister. She hopes he and Isaiah can connect. Lucky could use a friend like him. The desk computer chimes, and Elizabeth says, it’s a match. She knows who can save Lulu’s life.

Sasha says, Cody will have to ask someone else. Tracy isn’t the only person who could invest. He has to see it as an investment, not a handout. He says he’s not a guy people invest in. He knows how to turn on the charm, but that’s not him anymore. As much as he wants to, he’s not going back to his old ways. He promised James, no more lies. She says she’s not asking him to do what he doesn’t want to, but don’t give up on his dream.

Olivia says she’s doing everything to keep the family together, and Ned says, she doesn’t need his grousing and foolishness. He apologizes for adding to her list of worries. He’s in awe that she’s still standing. He’ll handle the problem on his own. He heads for the door, and she asks where he’s going. He says he thought she didn’t want to know, and leaves.

Michael asks what he walked in on, and Drew says, since he’s bowing out, Ned taking the opportunity to take control of ELQ by using the kids. Now it’s going to be a battle. Michael says, Ned will cool off eventually, but Drew says he doesn’t know about the leadership of ELQ. Michael is vital at Aurora, but he’s needed at ELQ. Michael says he’s focused on keeping the family unified, and Drew asks if Michael thinks Ned would promote unity or himself. He’s got an idea, but he needs Michael to make it work. He needs Michael to agree that when he wins the election, Michael will take over ELQ.

Willow finds Brook, who says she’s hiding out. Willow’s a teacher. Can she give Brook some advice? Willow says she’ll try, and Brook says, her grandmother believes that the school doesn’t have Violet’s best interests at heart, that the administration and teachers are just going to protect themselves. She wonders if Tracy is on to something. Willow says, that’s a cynical way of looking at it, but from the school’s perspective, she’s probably right.

Dante says, Rocco was upset that Lucky couldn’t be a donor, so he said he thought there would be another donor. He gave Rocco false hope. He made Rocco believe Lulu could fight through this. Sam says, that doesn’t mean she can’t or won’t, but Dante says, they both know the chances aren’t good. It feels like he lied when he needed to be honest. He couldn’t give Rocco the truth.  

Martin tells Cyrus that he’s got news about their mother, and they step outside. Cyrus asks, what’s wrong with their mother? but Martin says, nothing. She’s as healthy as a horse, but he doesn’t think Laura needs Cyrus hanging around. Cyrus says, he’s been there while Martin was off getting a makeover, and Martin says he didn’t know Cyrus was the only person allowed to change his image. He seems to remember a ponytail and expensive Italian suits. Cyrus says he’s given his life to God and is making almonds amends, and he’s not bothering Laura. Just the opposite. He’s giving her a greater gift than Martin could know.

Elizabeth goes into Lulu’s room and says, there’s something she needs to tell Laura. They may have found a match for Lulu.

Willow suggests a collaboration. Make a plan with the teachers, the school psychologist, and the principal or vice principal. Brook asks if it won’t be on Violet’s permanent record, but Willow says, elementary school permanent records are more myth than reality. It’s important to get support. She bets the school will want to work with them, but if they resist, be pushy. Brook asks if Willow’s met her, and Willow says she knows it’s hard, and Brook says, this is just temporary, but it makes her wonder if she’s ready for the real thing.

Michael says he and Drew don’t have the votes. Tracy will vote no, Ned will vote no, and Brook will fall in line. He doesn’t want to cause a rift. Drew says, they’ll divide the control three ways, and Michael says, the shares will have to be put in a blind trust. Drew asks if Michael will be the trustee, and Michael says, if that’s what it takes to remove Ned as CEO, it’s on.

Ned meets Elaine and Mavis in a parking lot and says he appreciates her meeting him. She comes highly recommended. She asks the reason for their meeting, and he says he believes a family member is having an affair with another family member’s wife, but he needs actual proof. The name is Quartermaine. She asks if it’s the good looking one running for congress, and he says, the woman is Willow, the wife of his nephew Michael. She asks why he believes they’re having an affair, and Ned flashes back to James telling him that Willow feels guilty for kissing Drew. He says he heard it from a reliable source.

Dante tells Sam, it feels like a lie. He told Rocco what he wanted to believe. Sam says, he told Rocco to not give up, and he says, maybe he’s lying to Rocco and himself. She says she doesn’t think hope is lying. Her phone rings, and she says, it’s GH. She answers and Terry introduces herself. She says she was hoping Sam could come in as soon as possible. It’s important. Sam asks, what’s wrong? and Terry says she’ll fill Sam in when she gets here. Sam says she’ll be right there, and tells Dante that it’s Dr. Randolph from GH. The doctor wants to see her, but didn’t say why. It sounded important. Dante says he’ll take her to the hospital and visit Lulu.

Tracy says, Ace has the table manners of a goat, and Olivia says, he’s one year old, and Tracy can cut the tough guy act. She knows Tracy likes Ace. Tracy asks if Olivia was waiting to tell her live her authentic life, and Olivia says she’s telling Tracy to lighten up on Brook. Her second-guessing everything Brook does isn’t helping. She needs to butt out. Tracy says, Olivia is right. If she wants authenticity, here it is. She hates feeling powerless and she does. She can’t help Finn. He needs to help himself. And Lulu, the daughter of the love of her life, the bright comet she raised from adolescence is dying. Nobody wants to say it out loud, and all she can do is threaten a primary school and hand out pudding cups to toddlers. Olivia hugs her and Tracy says, that’s all she can do.

Cody tells Sasha that he dreamt of owning Serenity and retiring there with his own family, but it’s not realistic. His life is great as it is. They kiss, and he says, what more could he want? He leaves.

Michael says, Drew’s plan comes with a risk, and Drew says, more than Ned having control? They’ll have the majority share, and Ned won’t have enough to fight that.  

Elaine says she’ll be in touch if she finds proof, and Ned says, what if she doesn’t? She says, unlikely. He seems to think there’s something, but her fee is the same either way. Ned puts an envelope on her car and walks away. (Kind of clandestine when they’re meeting out in the open.) She takes the envelope and looks inside. She tells Mavis that mommy is going to buy her a new doggie bed.

Willow tells Brook that parenting is hard. It’s often thankless and exhausting, but the joy and love you experience is unlike anything you’ve felt before. It’s the best thing she’s done. Brook says she’s happy for Willow, when Brook’s phone dings. She says, oh my God. It’s Chase. Finn is out of rehab. Willow says, Violet will be so happy to be with her dad, and Brook says, she will.

Laura goes to Doc’s office, and says, thank God he’s not in session. He says, she looks happy, and she says she’s trying to remain realistically optimistic. They found a donor. He says, that’s wonderful news, and she says, they won’t tell her their identity because they have to tell the person first. She prays they say yes, and after that comes the secondary level of screening like with Lucky. He says, no wonder she’s being cautious, and she says, it could be the answer to her prayers. She’s kind of afraid to be hopeful, but 15 minutes ago, there was no hope. Now she’s back to walking that fine line. They have to pass the secondary level, but the worst case is them deciding they don’t want to have the surgery. Doc hugs her.

Dante asks how Lulu is doing, and Elizabeth says, she’s hanging in. Isaiah is with her now. There’s a beep from Lulu’s room and they both run there. Isaiah says, code blue. Lulu is crashing. Elizabeth says, start compression, and Isaiah calls for a crash cart.  

Terry thanks Sam for coming, and Sam says she doesn’t know why she’s here. Is it about her sister? Terry says she’s sorry she was so cryptic, and asks Sam to have a seat. It doesn’t have to do with her sister. They have a possible liver donor for Lulu. Sam says, that’s great. Dante is visiting Lulu. Terry should tell him, not her. She gets up, but Terry says, wait. There’s a reason why she’s telling Sam and not Dante. The person is her.

Tomorrow, Mac says he and Robert have unfinished business; Sam says she can’t tell Dante; and Jack asks if Anna or Jason brought back a souvenir from their travels.

🗽 Pigeons Roost In the Hamptons…

The group took a trip to Erin’s Sag Harbor house. After Ubah made sure Brynn and Sai were alone to mend fences, and said no one would come in, the entire group trickled in. Their original issue came from Brynn supposedly saying that Sai hated Jenna, and Sai hearing it from Jenna. It took me ten minutes to get that sentence to make sense. That shows how stupidly complicated it is. Brynn called in Jenna to verify, but Jenna claimed she hadn’t specifically said it was Brynn. However, in the gift receipt that is a flashback, we saw she did. The whole thing seemed like it was more trouble and took more time than it was worth, but after hugging it out, all was well in the end. For now, as Erin pointed out. I just don’t like Brynn and would avoid her at all costs in a friend group. She admittedly likes to stir the pot and then claims she doesn’t want to hurt whoever this week’s target is. The look of distain mixed with amusement that’s always on her face is infuriating on its own. Since she’s not in middle school, I assume she’s just emotionally immature. And once again proves all the wrong people have the money.

Erin gave fabulous gift bags, specifically geared to the recipient. I have never been to one weekend where I got a gift bag. Unless you count tiny shampoos, conditioners, and lotions in a hotel. Racquel showed off her engagement ring, which is the size of Sag Harbor, and in her interview, she said she had an art piece on her hand. Agreed. Not many would be able to pull it off, but it suits her. Still, I think it must be tough to wear all the time.

Later, Ubah tried to get Brynn to understand how Sai was feeling, and it degenerated into Brynn yelling, dah-dah-dah, no-no-no, over Ubah trying to talk. Remember when Sheree and Marlo (RHOA) had that nonsense talk argument where they were going yabba-dabba-ga-ga-ga-zibby-do-pfft at each other? It was kind of like that, but one sided. Honestly, I don’t know if it’s geographic, financial, generational or what, but I have never once had an argument with friends like they do on any Housewives show. I guess if they weren’t ridiculous, there wouldn’t be a show, but I think you can be entertaining without the drama. I kind of like Ubah, who seems like she’s just trying to be fair. I felt badly for her when she said she was hesitant to open up because of all the potential shade. In Brynn’s interview, she said, Ubah resorted to name calling, which was lowbrow fighting. She was raised to use better words, but no name calling. I dunno. I could agree, but one, English is not Ubah’s first language, and she’s still wading through that; and two, better she gives a hardy f*** you, and you know where she’s at, than smiling in your face and playing Brynn’s game behind the scenes.

Ubah said they were all pigeons with no right address.

👀 Last Weekend’s Watch…

Over the weekend, I watched the latest Grotesquerie episode – which made a blink-and-you-missed-it reference to Port Charles. I was like, wait. What? Did I just hear that? I also caught up with The Penguin, which I’m appreciating for its sense of humor. I’ve yet to be caught up with Agatha, but these weekly drops make me cranky. I’ve been spoiled by the opportunity to watch a series in its entirety.

Since I don’t have enough series going on, I’ve added Teacup to my roster. While Inverse was disappointed, I was not. Except for the aforementioned weekly doling out of episodes like methadone.

NOC Review: Peacock’s ‘Teacup’ is a Satisfying Sci-Fi Streaming Surprise

Pretty much a blow-by-blow of the first two episodes.

The film disappointment I set myself up for was The Platform 2. Some of it makes slightly more sense, at least from the perspective of the prisoners trying to find a way for everyone to survive. There seemed to be some kind of Christian parallels with someone called The Master aka Dagin Babbi, who eventually turns into more of a Pharisee when he creates more rules than the ones the prisoners were originally stuck with. This causes things to get so out of hand, his opposition decides to kill to build a future where no one kills anymore. in other words, kill for peace.

I’m not sure if there’s something philosophical that I’m missing or maybe this is just horror for horror’s sake, but I still don’t get it. Is there an end game? Who is actually in charge and why? Since it’s a combination of forced containment and volunteers, why are the volunteers surprised at what they’ve gotten themselves into? And most important, why isn’t anyone thinner by the end of the movie?

The prisoners are allowed to choose the one dish they’ll eat daily, unless they exchange with someone else, and I was surprised to note that many didn’t choose very carefully. Like, only eating dessert is not a good choice for sustenance. There was a time when I used to say I could live on Wendy’s hamburgers. Until I had to. After Hurricane Sandy hit, the only thing open was Wendy’s and by day three, eating those burgers got old. It was also just before Halloween, and I never even want to look at a Reese’s cup again.

The one blatant message was, we’re all prisoners of ourselves and from that there’s no possible escape. If that’s the moral to this story, I think there are better and less cryptic ways to tell it. Be forewarned, this movie is extremely brutal.

And try saying, double dereliction of duties three times real fast.

I often think, if you have to explain it to me, maybe I shouldn’t be watching it, but here you go.

I also watched the documentary, The Menendez Brothers, and it was riveting. It looks like they’re moving toward releasing them from prison and I have to admit I agree with that. Either they’re the best actors in the world, or they told the truth. There was also corroborating testimony. I’m actually surprised they got such a harsh sentence, but I think their spending spree post murders did them no service.

Walking Dead might be one of the best post-apocalyptic TV shows ever, but it was also the most stagnant. One of the best things about Z Nation (yep, still bitter about that cancelation) was that they didn’t stay in one place for long and we got to see how a lot more of the world, at least the USA, was dealing with the apocalypse. It was more realistic in the sense that not everyone would be on the same page, whether it was growing weed from zombies (Z-weed) or electing a board of directors and working together as a business. As for Daryl, kudos to breaking him out of TWD mold.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

Kristina says she created this situation, but Alexis says, Kristina’s father created this situation by letting things spiral with Cates. Her father got them into this and he’s the one who has to get them out.

Dante says, there’s something Sonny should know, but Anna says, this is not the time. Dante says he doesn’t think it can wait, when Martin comes in and says he’d like to know why he’s just getting this now. Does Anna want to explain why he didn’t get the new evidence in Alexis’s case?  

Molly drops some folders in the courthouse hallway, and Dex helps her pick them up. She says, he was great in there. It was his first time being a police witness, but he seemed like a pro. He says he’s glad over, and she says, one less thing to worry about. He says, she can add the new evidence in Alexis’s case, and she says, what new evidence?

In a room at the station, Elizabeth says she should have known he was the reason she’s here. What did he get her into this time? We see she’s talking to Ric.

Brad looks on his laptop and says, it’s no mistake. The test results were accessed by Dr. Robinson the day before Ric got them. Terry comes in and says she was wondering if found anything new in Heather’s test results.

Portia goes to Curtis’s office, and he says, this is a nice surprise… What’s wrong? She says she didn’t listen when he told her to leave Heather’s case alone.

Brad tells Terry that he found something interesting, but he wants to doublecheck before he hands it over. She says she’s glad he’s being so thorough. All eyes are on him. A lot of people have questioned her decision to hire him back and Portia is especially unhappy. He needs to be the perfect employee and get on everyone’s good side. He says he promises she won’t regret hiring him. He’ll work extra hard and has no doubt he can get Portia to come around. Terry leaves, and Brad laughs as he prints out the document.

Portia says she changed Heather’s test results, and Curtis asks, how? She says she snuck into the lab and looked at the numbers. The cobalt had decreased significantly, so she altered the results. She doesn’t know what she was thinking. She could only think that she had to do this for Trina. Curtis says, he wants to protect Trina too, but to do it like this? She says she wants to make sure Heather isn’t released. She’s a murderer who has caused them pain along with all the other people she terrorized and murdered. He says he doesn’t disagree, and she says, they’d never have a moment’s peace with Heather wandering around Port Charles plotting revenge for Esme’s death. He says, what’s done is done. What’s important is that nobody else knows. She says, the court ordered the hospital to turn over the tests. It’s just a matter of time before they find out what she’s done and her medical career might as well be over. (I am seriously disappointed in Curtis.)

Molly says she hasn’t heard anything about new evidence, and Dex says he assumed she’d been notified. She says she hasn’t. Spill. He says he probably shouldn’t say. He doesn’t want to jeopardize the case or his job. She says she understands. She’s sure she’ll find out soon enough. It’s nice to know there’s some good news coming their way for once. Short of Sonny confessing, she can’t imagine what it might be.

Ric says he’s as in the dark as Elizabeth is, and she says she was told it was urgent. He says he thinks it’s about Alexis, and Elizabeth wonders why the police want to talk to them again. He says, it will be fine. Just tell the truth. Chase comes in and sets the gun on the table. He asks them to take a look at the gun. Does it look like the one Alexis had in Blackstone Canyon? Elizabeth says, it looks like the gun Alexis was holding, but Ric says he doesn’t know. It was dark in the canyon. He can’t be sure. Chase asks him to take another look, and Ric says, of course (🍷).

Anna asks Sonny to go into the interrogation room and she’ll talk to Martin in private, but Martin says he’s not going anywhere when she’s sitting on evidence. Anna says, they’re still investigating, but she’s sure Reynolds wants to speak to Sonny, but Sonny says, his lawyer isn’t here yet and he’d like to hear the evidence. Martin asks if Anna wants to tell them or should he, and Anna says, the evidence in question is a gun deposited here by an unidentified subject. The time is suspect, and they can’t consider it a serious lead. Martin asks what caliber it is and who it’s registered to, and she says, it’s registered to Sonny Corinthos and is similar in appearance to the one Alexis was seen disposing of. Chase is questioning the witnesses to see if they think it’s similar to what they saw. Martin says, what about a ballistics test? and Anna says, they’re confident it’s not the gun that killed Agent Cates.

In the interrogation room, Anna says, this is by no means conclusive. They’re still investigating. Diane walks in and says, the gang’s all here. She didn’t know she was walking into a party here. Sonny says, they got some good news. Anna thinks they found the missing gun that will exonerate Alexis. Anna suggests they not get ahead of themselves, and Reynolds says, let’s get started. Sonny says he wants to make sure Alexis is not getting unfair treatment because him, and Martin says, the FBI’s treatment is beside the point. He assumes they’ll be dropping the charges. Reynolds says, they have plenty more evidence, but Martin says, they have nothing, and he knows it. He’s filing a motion for a hearing today and he’s sure the judge will grant it. He leaves.

Portia says, if they find out the tests were tampered with on the same day she was in the lab, where she rarely goes, they’ll have reason to investigate her. Curtis says, they have no reason to suspect the tests were tampered with. It could be a faulty test or a lab mistake. They’re the only two who know about it, and if they play it cool and they’re lucky, it will stay that way. She says, one other person knows, and he asks, who? She says, Ava, and he says, Ava is a loose cannon. Portia insists Ava won’t tell anyone because she loves Trina. She would not hurt Trina in that way. He says, it’s their only saving grace, and she says she’s happy he knows. The burden has been killing her. He says, they’re in this together. He’s always got her back. She says she loves him for that, and he says, she’s not going to lose her job or her license. She says, if she does, she does. Shell do anything to protect Trina. He says, that’s because she’s a great mom. Don’t worry. It will never come out. They hug, she thanks him, and she leaves.

Elizabeth says, it looks like the gun Alexis was holding, and it’s their civic duty to tell the truth, and Rick says, Elizabeth is right. It looks exactly like the gun. Chase says, good, and thanks them for their time. Their identification is going to help Alexis. He leaves, and Elizabeth asks Ric, what’s wrong with you? Ric says, he told the truth, but she says, not because he wanted to. His phone rings, and Elizabeth leaves. Curtis asks if Ric can come over to Aurora. He needs to see Ric as soon as possible. There’s an urgent family matter he needs to discuss.

Dex asks if Molly is doing better than the other night at the Brown Dog, when Molly’s phone dings. She says, oh my God. She can’t believe it. It’s about the good news he was talking about.

Alexis says, Kristina’s dad is not a victim. His recklessness was bound to catch up with him at some point, and today is that day. Kristina says, because of her, and Alexis says, stop blaming herself. The guard says they’ve got to go. Alexis has a hearing, and they need to get to Port Charles. Kristina says, he confessed, and Alexis says, remember what she said. Kristina is not responsible. She leaves with the guard.

At the courthouse, Michael asks how Kristina is doing, and she says she’s worried. The guard told Alexis that she has a hearing. She thinks their dad confessed to Cates’s murder to get her mom off the hook. They have to make sure they’re both in the clear. Michael suggests she sit quiet and let Sonny handle it. He knows what he’s doing. Kristina says she’s scared, when Sam joins them. She says, Molly texted her, but she didn’t say what was going on. Kristina says, they don’t know, and Sam says, they should go in. They go into the courtroom, and Kristina looks at Molly.  

Dante says, now that he and Sonny are alone, did he drop the gun off? Sonny says, it wasn’t him. He doesn’t know who it was, but he’s glad he found out before he confessed. Dante laughs and Sonny leaves.  

Michael sees Sonny and tells Kristina, he must not have confessed. Kristina wonders what this is about, when Alexis is brought in.

Elizabeth slams her locker shut, when Terry walks in and asks if everything is okay. It’s not like her to slam things around. Elizabeth says she’s so mad at something Ric did, and Terry asks if she wants to talk. Elizabeth says, no… Every time Ric has the opportunity to do the right thing, he does the opposite. She tells herself that he’s not going to disappoint her this time, and he always does. Terry says she has the feeling that’s not why Elizabeth is upset. If she had to venture a guess, she’d say this is more about Lucky.

Brad asks if he can speak with Portia, but she says, it’s not a good time. What does he want to talk about? He says he’s been gathering Heather’s test results and found something he thinks he should run by her. Is she sure she doesn’t have a minute?

Curtis says he wants to talk to Ric, father to father, and Ric says, it’s about Heather’s case. Curtis says, Heather’s case being reopened has hung over his family’s head and he knows Trina is terrified. He doesn’t like seeing his daughter terrified. Ric says he can understand where Curtis is coming from. He loves Molly more than anything and thinks she’s the best thing he’s ever done, but he’s also a lawyer. The great thing about law is that it protects people. Unfortunately, sometimes it protects people who do bad things. He thinks Heather is a completely different person now. Curtis says he went to Pentenville and met with her. He has to admit she’s changed, but that doesn’t mean she should be let out. Ric says he doesn’t think Curtis has anything to worry about with Heather, but Curtis says he thinks Ric is wrong. They’re at an impasse, and Ric needs to be real with the truth. What comes next? He deserves to know.

Anna says, Dante got interrupted before he could say what he wanted to. What was he going to say? Dante says, it was nothing, but Anna says, she got the feeling Dante was going to tell Sonny about the gun.

Alexis says she takes it Sonny didn’t confess, and Martin says, no one confessed. There’s new evidence. She asks, what kind of evidence? when the bailiff says, all rise, and Judge Otis comes in and says, court is now in session.

Martin says, the defense has new evidence that can impact their case. They thought the alleged murder weapon was gone forever until now. It’s been located and he has sworn affidavits obtained from the PCPD from the witnesses who saw Alexis dispose of the same gun. A sample of river water in the gun shows it to be the same as in the Blackstone River, and the serial number says it’s registered to Sonny Corinthos. A ballistics test has concluded the gun is not the weapon used to kill Agent John Cates. He’s submitted into evidence the photos of the affidavits. In light of these developments, he’s asking that all charges be dismissed immediately. Reynolds says, the prosecution has more than enough evidence to move to a trial and conviction.

Dante says he’s not saying that it didn’t cross his mind to lie, but he respects Anna too much. She knows how it is. Sonny’s son and a cop. Anna says, it’s hard to love someone with a moral compass not as defined as your own, but Dante has always remained neutral. What’s the difference now? He says, life is different. Lulu’s not doing well. He and Rocco sit by her bedside and pray for a miracle. He used to think how amazing it would be to tell Rocco the good news that Lulu is better and coming back. Now he thinks of how he’ll give Rocco the bad news that she didn’t make it, and in the same breath, tell him that he’ll never see his grandfather again, since he’ll be away for a long time. She says she’s sorry Lucky wasn’t a match. She thought he was going to be Lulu’s miracle. Dante says, they all did.  

Elizabeth says, everything about Lucky has been weighing on her, and Terry says, he’s been gone a long time. She’s got big feelings back. Elizabeth says, it has more to do with Lulu than anything. Lucky thought being Lulu’s donor would wash away his sins, but she’s worried now that he can’t be a hero, he thinks he’s lost his last shot at redemption. What scares her the most is that he’ll leave again.

Ric says, Curtis seems like a stand-up guy who loves his family, so he’s going to tell him the truth, as much as lawyer/client confidentiality allows. He had several individual labs test Heather’s cobalt levels. The results are consistent that there was a significant decrease, except those from GH. It’s concrete evidence that proves her behavior was due or heavily influenced by metallosis. He knows it’s not something Curtis wants to hear, but Heather is going to get her day in court.  

Portia brings Brad to her office and asks what she can do for him. Brad says he was pulling Heather’s test results like he was told to do and noticed something strange. Portia says she heard they discovered a faulty result, and Brad says he thought it was just a mistake at first, but the disparity in the numbers didn’t make sense. So he opened the accessibility and saw the weirdest thing. The original recording showed Heather’s cobalt levels at 1.8 before they were radically altered to 300. She says, it sounds like something for Heather’s legal team to deal with and nothing for them to worry about, and he says, then he noticed the same day, the tests were accessed by her. Should he worry about that?

Anna says she sees the toll this is taking on Dante. He’s doing the right thing by taking a leave of absence to be with his son and focus on Rocco. Dante says, Rocco’s a good kid. He wants to be able to tell him something good. Anna says, there were too many years she wasn’t here in Port Charles for Robin. Robin went through all this stuff, hard stuff, without her support. No matter what happens with Lulu, he and Rocco will be together and see each other through it. That’s what Rocco will remember and that’s what matters.

 Elizabeth says she’s an adult and can take it, and Terry says, she’s worried about other people. Elizabeth says, especially Aiden. One afternoon meant so much to him. He was open and vulnerable, and it was so good for him. Terry says she bets it was good for Lucky too, and Elizabeth says, Lucky is a smart man. He’s traveled the world and seen things they can only dream of. But sometimes she wonders if he never learned that time is the one thing he can never get back.

Brad says, it’s hard to believe a mistake just happened randomly, but Portia says, mistakes happen all the time. Why is he bringing it to her attention? He says he just wanted her to see how hard he’s working that he caught such a jarring discrepancy. He’d like Portia to have his back during his trial period. He wants to make sure if people ask about him, she has good things to say. He’s sure his due diligence will catch the attention of the higher ups, but if she thinks he should just forget about it, he’s willing to consider that too. So tell him. What will get him a more favorable review, diligence or discretion?

Martin says, it’s obvious the prosecution has no case and they’d be wasting the court’s time to go to trial. It’s also a complete miscarriage of justice. Reynolds says, the defendant had motive, opportunity, and her vehicle was seen at the scene of the crime which she wasn’t forthcoming about. Martin says, the defendant’s vehicle, not the defendant, and Reynolds says they believe the murder weapon is out there and they’ll find it. He asks the court to consider the scope of the evidence, not just the weapon that conveniently happened to show up. And he reminds the court that this woman has killed twice before. Martin says, irrelevant and prejudicial, and Judge Otis says he needs to evaluate the evidence. The court is in recess. Alexis tells Martin that she’s been to a lot of hearings and can’t tell how this one is going. That’s not a good sign.

Molly finds Kristina in the hallway and says, Kristina needs to go back in. She can end this. She can help mom. If she knows something, she needs to tell the judge.

Sonny tells Diane, it’s not going well. If they don’t drop the charges, he’s going step in and do the right thing.

Portia says she was skeptical when Brad came back after what he did last time, and Brad says, he screwed up. She says, but seeing the hard work he’d putting in, his determination is amazing. She’s impressed. He says he thought she might be, and she says she’s going to recommend he be put on full time when his trial per ends, if not sooner. He thanks her, and hands her the papers for her records. Don’t worry. He has a digital copy. He leaves, Portia closes the door, and tears up the papers, fuming.  

Curtis asks what will happen at Heather’s hearing, and Ric says, he’ll submit the new evidence and argue that the jury reached a verdict without all the facts. Based on how that goes, it could go one of three ways. Heather gets a new trial, which isn’t good for anyone. Curtis says, the victims will have to relive the trauma, and Ric says, or she gets a reduced sentence, which is what he planned. Nobody can argue she didn’t commit what she’s charged with, but the charges could be lowered, and she’ll get reduced time. Curtis says, and the third? and Ric says, it’s a long shot, but Heather could be offered a plea of manslaughter, and with time served, she could be granted immediate release.

Judge Otis comes back and says he’s reviewed the evidence and considered the argument on both sides. In light of the new development and insufficient evidence, the case is dismissed. Alexis is free to go. Court is dismissed. Alexis says she guesses she was wrong, and Martin says he never doubted it for a minute. Michael says he knew dad would come through, and he and Kristina hug. She says she’s so happy, and looks at Molly, but Molly looks away. Diane says she’s guessing Sonny is glad he didn’t confess, and he smiles. Kristina hugs Alexis, then Sam, then Molly, Kristina says, it’s amazing, and Sonny says, Alexis will be sleeping in her own bed tonight. Alexis says she knows what Sonny was going to do for her, and he says he does what he can for the people he loves. Kristina says, it’s finally over, and hugs Alexis again.

In the hallway, Michael tells Molly, hold up. Where is she going? Molly says she had to get out. She’s happy for mom and will celebrate with her later, but it never should have gone this far. It’s Kristina’s fault. Everybody thinks she’s forgiven and forgotten, but she can’t, and she won’t.

Anna says she’ll pray for Lulu and be thinking of Dante and Rocco. If there’s anything she can do, don’t hesitate to ask. Dante thanks her and says, his mom was great at getting the word out about a donor match. People are getting tested and they’re waiting for the results. She says she hopes it’s soon, and he says him too. She says she knows how much he still cares for Lulu, and he says he’d do anything for Lulu. He’d trade his life for hers.

Brad delivers the paperwork to Elizabeth, and she thanks him. She looks at the computer and says she doesn’t believe it. Terry asks if something is wrong, but she says, no. It’s very right. They found Lulu a match.

Tomorrow, Brook tells Tracy that they just put out a fire and now she wants to start another one; Drew says he needs Michael to make it work; and Elizabeth tells Laura that she has good news.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht

Cala Tarida, Ibiza. In Daisy’s interview, she says, dinner on night one and they’re in the sh*t. She did put Cloyce in a sticky situation, but he’s a chef on a superyacht and needs to adapt to last minute stuff. Daisy brings primary Scott a fresh steak, and Cloyce comes up to say, sorry about the mix up. In Cloyce’s interview, he says, when he cooks, a different element in his brain turns on. He’s used to things going well. He may look like an idiot, but he’s not stupid. I have the feeling that Cloyce’s confidence isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. This is like the third time he’s used the word idiot in reference to himself. Gary Leaves to pick up the dancing instructor, and Captain Glenn asks how Cloyce is doing. Cloyce says he’s disappointed with himself, and in Captain Glenn’s interview, he says, Cloyce is a young guy with serious talent. At that age, he was still partying. We see some pictures of him with… an afro? How old is he? He says, Cloyce may have a lot of growing to do, but you don’t want fall into the good enough trap. You want your chef to be great.

Gary picks up dance instructor Ellie, and in Danni’s interview, she says she wants male attention. She was a nobody, then she went to the gym and became a cheerleader. That’s probably where her confidence came from. She suggests we all go to the gym, which isn’t a bad idea for anyone, but not for those reasons. Ellie arrives, and Daisy says, the guests want the crew to be involved. They dress up in leather and lace, and Gary says, girls’ clothes are weird. It’s going to take him an hour to put his outfit on. The guests go upstairs for their lesson and Ellie starts with a sexy walk. In Davide’s interview, he says he never did sexy walking, but once at a crazy festival he married a guy. Then they got divorced. He’s straight, but they’re married on Facebook as well. Gary struggles to get out of his outfit, and I feel his pain. The guests go to bed, and Captain Glenn instructs Emma and Keith on anchor watch, while Gary takes Ellie back. Suddenly, the tender crashes into something.

Gary says he couldn’t see, and realizes he hit a rock. He asks if everyone is okay, and in his interview, he says he just crashed the tender. He’s driven hundreds of thousands of times and never crashed. He drops Ellie off and checks the boat. When they get back to the yacht, he tells Captain Glenn that he hit a rock, and the captain asks if anyone was injured. Gary says, no. He scraped it, but they were able to carry on. Captain Glenn asks if it’s leaking or sinking, and Gary says, there was bubbling by the fiberglass, but he put his hand inside and it seemed fine. The captain says, you don’t want to flood the engine, and in his interview, he says, the boat won’t sink, but the engine could get submerged. If that happens, this tender is through, and it cost around 180,000 euros. It’s always f***ing something. Gary heads for bed and says, if anyone sees the tender sitting lower, wake him up. He calls himself an idiot. I can’t disagree. The tender is still good in the morning, and Cloyce says he woke up thinking he slept through breakfast. That reminds me of the time I woke up thinking I was late for school, rushed around getting dressed, and it turned out to be Saturday.

Captain Glenn says he needs to video the damage, and in Gary’s interview, he says, if there’s a hole, that will be the end of the season for this tender. He doesn’t want to think about it. Danni tells Daisy about Gary crashing the boat, and Gary tells the captain that there’s hardly any damage. Captain Glenn looks at the video, and Gary says, it’s not through the hull piece; it’s just a massive scratch. In the captain’s interview, he says, luckily, it’s cosmetic and didn’t impact the engine. Gary knows better. The guests are going on an excursion, and in Daisy’s interview, she says, O Beach is the quintessential beach club and good for day drinking. In Keith’s interview, he says his last relationship was three and a half years and he’s finally ready to mingle. The guests trickle out and anchor is dropped at Calo des Moror. Breakfast food porn is served, and Daisy tells the guests that they’re headed for the beach club at 2 pm. She tells both stews to go along. Danni flirts with Keith and he wonders why she’s so aggressive.  

Club host Anthony greets the guests, and Scott declares, what happens in Ibiza stays in Ibiza. What an original thought! Diana says, there are so many hot people. She loves this job. Danni finds out that she and Anthony are both from South Africa, and they get to talking. On the boat, Emma asks what Keith thinks about the girls, and he says he likes all of them. Danni is fun. She’s a massive flirt, definitely attractive and adventurous, with an outgoing sense of humor. At the beach club, Anthony asks for Danni’s number.  

In Daisy’s interview, she says, Cloyce is confident and so not her type. It’s cracking her up. Cloyce says, what he has in average characteristics, he strives to make up for in other areas. Danni calls and asks if Gary can bring trunks for one of the guests, and Daisy wonders, who goes to the beach club without trunks? Captain Glenn says, she’s going to have to wake Gary up, and Gary says he was just about being deep. In Gary’s interview, he says, all Daisy does is boss him around like an errand boy. How long is this f***ing day?

The guests toast to Ibiza and do shots. Diana wonders how they’re going to get the guests back to the boat in one piece, but the guests say they don’t want to leave. Danni calls Daisy and tells her that the guests are keen on staying, and Daisy says she’ll swap them out with a deck member. She asks Gary to pick up the girls, but he says, they can wait until he picks up the guests. He was just there. The text says he was there an hour ago, and Daisy says she’ll remember that one, and she walks away. In her interview, she says she didn’t know the guests would want to be there all day. She has turn downs and no one has taken a break. She thinks it’s fair to swap them out. In Gary’s interview, he says, when Daisy tells him to jump, he asks, how high? but when he asks her to do something, it’s like World War III.  Daisy tells Gary, f*** you. She’ll do it herself. He’s just showing what a what a d*ck he is.

Gary tells Emma that Daisy needs to make her plans better, and Emma says, he and Daisy need to figure it out. They’re at each other’s throats again and they’re going to have another row. Daisy tells Cloyce that dinner is on the fly tonight, and in Cloyce’s interview, he says, tonight is a 90s theme. He wasn’t even alive in the 90s. The guests have requested Thai food, and he imagines there’s curry. He needs to make sure tonight goes well after last night. He’s not going to be the first person fired. Gary relents and tells Daisy that he’ll pick up the girls, and she texts Danni. Keith is the swap, and Danni introduces Anthony as her boyfriend. She tells Anthony that she’ll be back and he says he’ll see her later. She leaves, and at 7 pm, the guests are ready to go. Dinner gets changed to 8, and Daisy curses her life while she’s in the shower.

In Diana’s interview, she says she’s been on housekeeping for the past five years. She’s trying to get into service. If you could choose cleaning poop or serving people, which you choose? Does she really have to ask? The guests get back to the boat, and dinner is switched to 8:30. Daisy tells Cloyce, don’t kill her, and in his interview, he says, dinner continues to be pushed back. It’s risking overcooking the proteins and the rice is going to get gummy. It needs to be perfectly cooked, and as a perfectionist, it sketches him out a bit. Is everything fine? Keith tells Danni that she’s punching, meaning, Anthony is above her playing field, and she says, that’s just mean. You’re a f***ing nasty budgie smuggling boofhead. Wow. I’m filing that one away for future reference.

Keith says he’s sorry. He didn’t mean to upset Danni, and Danni says she thinks that about herself every day, and so do a lot of girls. In Diana’s interview, she says she thinks Keith is jealous. Cloyce says, they’re getting into overcooked rice territory, and guest Hakim asks for six shots of Japanese whiskey. Can I have one too? Contessa’s phone rings, and she tells them that she’s on location until the end of July. One of the guests says, the world is our playground, and some of the most glorious food porn I’ve ever seen is served. Hakim asks Cloyce to take a shot with them, but Cloyce says he has to get the captain’s approval. He tells Captain Glenn that he’ll do less than a shot, and the captain says, that’s fine. Cloyce performs a rap song he wrote as he serves the shots, and he’s not bad. In Daisy’s interview, she says she loves it. She didn’t think Cloyce was a hidden Eminem. One of the guests says, the chef is dope as f***, and in Cloyce’s interview, he says, cooking is not the whole Cloyce package. He considers himself a Renaissance man – poetry, archery, dancing, magic. He shuffles some cards in the air, and they fall. He says, and even when the magic doesn’t work out, he’s still got an ace up his sleeve. Big surprise, he pulls an ace out of his sleeve, and says, delicioso. That’s Spanish for, it doesn’t suck. The guests go to bed before midnight, but considering how much they’ve had to drink, it’s a marvel that they didn’t fall asleep at the dinner table.

Keith admits he dealt a low blow to Danni, and in Danni’s interview, she says, if that’s an attempt at flirting, he needs to take a page out of her book. Emma asks if Daisy spoke to Gary, and Daisy says, the way he spoke to her earlier is the way he’s spoken to her since the first charter they worked together. That’s because he’s five and when he likes a girl, he pulls her pigtails. In Daisy’s interview, she says she’s not putting up with Gary’s bullsh*t anymore. She’s not being a weak person people take advantage of. It’s time for her to protect herself.

In the morning, Cloyce does jumping jacks in the galley. Anchor is home, and they sail to Igy Marina where they drop port anchor. The guests declare breakfast, yummy, and Captain Glenn tells the crew to line up on the dock for guest departure. There are hugs and so awesomes, and Contessa says, it’s definitely the top anniversary trip they’ve taken. Scott says, Tamron Hall for sure. As they leave, Captain Glenn blows the horn per usual. Emma says she can’t wait for their first night out, and Gary asks Daisy if they’re going to have a good night. She says she’s tired, and the captain calls for the tip meeting.

Captain Glenn says, charter one is done. The guests had a great time. The first dinner was one hiccup, but dinner two was much better. The guests were definitely a handful, but the interior did an amazing job. He understands what happened with the tender was an accident, but remember that safety is their number one priority. The tip is a measly $15K, or 1435 euros each. In Diana’s interview, she says she’s not happy. She’s not going to lie. She wants more. They clink champagne glasses, and Daisy says, this is the last time they’ll be friends. Enjoy it. They’ll be f***ing or fighting. Captain Glenn says, or both, and Anthony texts Danni. Danni tells Diana that there are plenty of fish in the sea around here, and they get dressed to go out. In Cloyce’s interview, he says he likes to feel elegant, upscale, and put together, in a position to make big money moves. He wants to look sexy, but with some mystery. It makes the women intrigued. Captain Glenn tells them to have fun, and they head for old town.

On the boat, Captain Glenn learns how say, where is the nearest ice cream shop? and, how do I get to the club? Daisy toasts to a good season and the guys gather together. Gary asks who Cloyce has eyes for and Cloyce says he doesn’t have eyes. He thinks Daisy would be a good wife. She’s organized and runs a tight ship. He likes when a lady tells him how it’s going to be. In Gary’s interview, he thinks Daisy would eat Cloyce alive. I wouldn’t though. Too bad he’s tad young for me. Danni brings up what Keith said, and Daisy asks Gary to go for a smoke. She tells him to get his head in the game. She’s warning him, don’t f*** up. She’s not babysitting him. She’s always had his back and he’s thrown her under the bus. She’ll throw him so far under if he’s not in her corner. In Gary’s interview, he says he’s surprised at her hatred toward him. All he has is love for her and she’s making it harder. He still has feelings for her. She says she’s letting him know. He’s either in her corner or not, but she’s not sitting back this time. She’s f***ing done.

Next time, there’s water on the boat; the tender slips away; and the chef disappears to go have a good time.

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

Carly says, Lulu seems to be getting worse, and Lucas says he can’t believe none of her brothers are viable donors. Carly says, wait. Ethan was tested? and Lucas says, apparently, Holly contacted him. She says, with the three of them out of the running, finding a donor seems less and less likely, but he says, between her and Nina getting the word out and Olivia contacting everyone she knows, they still have reason to be hopeful. Ava comes by and says she had no idea Lucas was back in town. Although she can’t say she’s completely surprised considering she didn’t hear from him when he was here for his mother’s funeral. He says he was here for his family, and she says she’s family. Is there any special reason for this visit? Carly says, it’s not a visit. Lucas is home for good. Meet GH’s new trauma surgeon.

Martin visits Alexis and asks, how is his effervescently challenged client today? She says, judging from his effervescence, she takes it he gave the photo to Anna, but he says, actually, he had to leave it with her assistant, and he hasn’t heard back yet. Then again, he doesn’t remember having Alexis convinced that his picture was going to get the charges against her dropped. She says her lawyer instincts kicked in and he says, so did his. That’s why he had his P.I. do a little more digging. She says she takes it his P.I. found something, and he says, she did. As far as he’s concerned, Alexis should be out of here by the end of the day.

Anna goes to Robert’s office, and he asks what brings her by. She says, this, and drops a file on his desk. He says, and this would be? and she says, proof that Alexis Davis is innocent.

Cody sees Elizabeth at the hospital, and she says, if he’s looking for Dante, he’s not here at the moment. He says he just wanted to tell Dante in person that he’s being tested to see if he’s a match for Lulu. She says, that’s great. She’s sure he’ll be pleased. He asks how it’s going. Are people coming in? She says, yes, and people are getting tested in other places as well. He says, Mama Q strikes again. He was bummed to hear that Lulu’s brother Lucky wasn’t able to donate. She says, that was rough, and he says, especially for Dante. He doesn’t know how much longer Dante can hold out hope. She says, he’s not one to give up, and he says, but he’s realist and he knows Dante is bracing himself in case Lulu doesn’t make it.

At the station, Dex asks how Dante is doing, and Dante says, they’re hanging in there. Dex says, Joss told him that Lulu’s brother can’t be the donor. He’s really sorry. Dante says, they’re not giving up, and Dex says he has an appointment to get tested over his lunch hour. Dante thanks him, and Dex says, if Dante doesn’t mind him saying, he’s surprised Dante came in. Dante says he just has to finish some stuff up, then he’s taking a leave of absence to be with Rocco and Lulu. Is it true there was a bomb threat here yesterday? Dex says, someone dropped off a suspicious package. It turned out to be a gun. Dante says, a package with a gun in it? and Dex says, the theory is, it’s the gun Alexis Davis dropped off the bridge. He saw the ballistics report. It’s definitely not the gun that killed Cates.

Sonny thanks Kristina for coming to the penthouse, and she sees Michael is there. She says, Sonny sounded urgent on the phone. Now she knows why. Clearly, Michael told him that she went to see Anna last night. Don’t worry. She didn’t say anything because he stopped her… Sonny says, it’s not about that. He’s not mad. He loves her very much. She says she loves him too. What’s going on? Sonny says he’s made up his mind. He’s not going to let Alexis pay for his crimes. He’s going to confess to killing Jagger.

Ava says, Lucas is moving back to Port Charles. Why didn’t he tell her? Carly asks, why would he? and Lucas says, neither one of them has reached out to the other since he left. She says she sent her condolences when his mother passed, and Carly asks if she read the note that Trina wrote before she sent it. Ava says she’s hoping to have an uninterrupted conversation with her nephew, and Lucas asks if that’s really necessary. Maybe there’s a reason they’re not close, and maybe that doesn’t need to change. She says, he’s right that they’re not close, but they are family. She can’t wait for him to see Avery. She’s grown up so much. She’s so beautiful. He says he knows. Carly sends him tons of pictures of Avery, so he’s all up to date. She says, that’s so kind of Carly, and Carly says, family is important to Spencers. Ava says, Lucas may have grown up with Bobbie and Tony Jones, but there’s no changing the fact that he’s Julian’s son. Carly says, it’s funny she would bring up Julian when he’s the reason Lulu is fighting for her life, and Ava says she’s sure she and Lucas have feelings about that because they were close to Julian and Carly certainly wasn’t. Carly says she’ll tell Ava about Lucas’s feelings, but Lucas says he’d like a minute alone with Aunt Ava. Carly says, sure, and he thanks her for understanding. Ava says, her magnanimity knows no bounds, and Carly says she’ll see Lucas at home, and leaves. Ava asks if they should get a cup of coffee, but Lucas says, right here is fine. She says, okay. Was there something… He says he would like her to explain why she outed Kristina’s girlfriend Blaze.

Elizabeth tells Portia that they’re having so many people being tested for Lulu, their labs are getting backed up. Can she please approve some overtime for their techs? Portia says, consider it done. And speaking of the lab, has she had any trouble with Brad Cooper?

Alexis says, don’t keep her in suspense. What is this new information that’s going to set her free? Martin says, their P.I. was able to get a copy of Jack Brennan’s room service order. Dinner for two with champagne, i.e. ooh-la-la. He’s already emailed a copy of it over to Commissioner Devane. (Really? He’s better than this. That proves nothing except Jack was having dinner with someone.) She says, that’s it? and he asks what she means. You combine that with a picture of Carly going into his hotel suite… Alexis says, at this point, she doesn’t think that’s enough proof, and he says, she’s right. It doesn’t actually prove anything. She says, that’s the funny thing about evidence. It’s supposed to prove stuff. He says, no, it’s not. This evidence is there to cast doubt on Sonny and Carly’s alibi. That’s it. She says she just doesn’t think that Brennan’s room service order or a picture of them is going to do that. He says he’s done a heck of a lot more with a hell of a lot less, and she says she’s so glad he’s so confident. It’s a long shot at best. He says, fine. He’s open to suggestions since she doesn’t seem to like any of his. She says, the only thing that’s going to get her out of here is if Sonny confesses, and he laughs. He says, and how likely is it that a known crime boss is going to let his conscience get the better of him? and she says, not likely. Because he’s not going to put Kristina in the mix. He says, how about if they somehow tie Sonny to the murder weapon? and she says, that weapon is in a thousand pieces somewhere or it’s melted down. He says, fine. So where does that leave them? She says, with the improbable possibility that Sonny is going to put Kristina at risk and come forward and save her.

Anna says, and inside the package is a chrome nine-millimeter pistol, and Robert says, like the one Ric Lansing and Elizabeth Baldwin saw Alexis throw off the Blackstone Canyon bridge. She says, it matches the description, so she’s going to bring them in and see if they can positively ID it. He asks if it’s worth her time. There’s plenty of nine-mills out there. She says, the lab turned up minerals that are found in the Blackstone River, enough to confirm it had probably been there for several weeks. They also ran the serial number, and the gun is registered to Sonny Corinthos. He says, similar to the one that disappeared shortly after Cates’s murder, and she says, yeah. At least they’ll be able to tell if it’s the murder weapon or not. He says, if it clears Alexis, that’s all for the best. He thinks they all know she didn’t do it. She says, there are far more likely suspects, and he says, one in particular. She says, if Sonny did this, they’re never going to find the weapon that he used. The FBI is going to have to build a case without it. He says, it didn’t stop them where Alexis is concerned, and she says, it will now. She’s going to call Martin Grey and let him know. He says, let’s not be hasty.

Kristina says, Sonny can’t do this. She knows he’s doing this because of her. He says he’s doing this so her mother doesn’t have to pay for something she didn’t do, and she says, it’s not going to work. Mom said so herself. She talked to her about it and she said, if Sonny goes to the FBI, they’re going to think it’s only to protect her. Sonny says he’s got it under control. He’s got a meeting with the FBI today. She says, no. She can’t lose him. He says, she’s not going to lose him, but she says she will if he goes to prison. He says, she has to understand something. This is the right thing to do. She says, there has to be another way, and Michael says, this is the only way to keep her mother out of prison. Sonny says, they both know Jagger came at him. Jagger couldn’t get him, so he went after everybody Sonny loves. Jagger wanted to hurt them, and he hurt Kristina in the lowest moment of her life. He had to be stopped. She asks if that’s what he’s going to tell the Feds, and he says he’s going to tell the Feds the truth. He doesn’t want anyone else paying for Jagger Cates’s death.

In the lab, Brad says, it’s good to see Cody, and Cody says he takes it Brad is back at GH. Brad says, on a probationary basis. He really wants this to work out, so no capers, no schemes, no altering lab results. Just doing what he loves where he loves doing it. Cody asks if his aunt is okay with this career change, and Brad says, she finally realized he wouldn’t be a good fit for her business. Cody says he knows Britt would be happy to see him back here, and Brad says, full disclosure. He invoked her name to get his foot in the door. Cody laughs and says, she would have loved that, and Brad says, damn right she would. Cody says, it sounds like Brad is all good, and Brad says, mostly. His ex-husband Lucas is also back at GH.

Lucas says he knows Ava recorded Natalia Ramirez and gave her audio to The Invader, and Ava says she’s sure Carly could wait to tell him. He says, she had no right to out Blaze. Nobody should be forced to come out before they’re ready. She says she agrees with him completely. She had no intention of outing Blaze. She’s spent half her life in the art world. You don’t do what she’s doing without being an ally to the gay community. He says, then why did she do it? and she says she was trying to protect Avery. He says, from what? and she says, Sonny. She was trying to get any proof she could that he was incapable of providing a suitable home for her. He asks what Natalia had to do with that, and she says, Sonny was trying to take Avery away from her. He says he’s still not following, and she says she thought by exposing his companion Natalia for the bigot she is, it would reflect badly on Sonny, and it would help her with her custody case. It didn’t help at all. He says, she’s just like Julian. He never thought about anybody but himself either. She says, he doesn’t think Sonny would do the same to her? Or worse? He asks if Sonny is really the best person to use as a moral barometer, and she says she supposes not. But when it comes to Julian, he was a deeply flawed man, but he loved Lucas with everything he had, and Lucas knows it.

Elizabeth says, don’t hate her for saying this… and Portia says, let her guess. Brad’s work has been flawless. Elizabeth says, it has. Sorry. Portia says, what about his attitude? His demeanor? Elizabeth says, beyond reproach. Trust her. She’s as shocked as Portia is. Portia says she just doesn’t understand why he’s working here. Brad puts the entire hospital at risk. Elizabeth says she’s certainly not going to defend Brad as a person, but since he’s been back, his work has been excellent. For all his faults, he knows his job.

Walking into the hospital, Kristina says, Michael didn’t have to escort her to therapy, and he says he wants to make sure she’s all right. She asks how she could possibly be all right. Their father is about to go to prison. He says, Diane is going to get him the best deal possible, and she says, she’s not a miracle worker. He says, they have to trust dad knows what he’s doing, and Diane knows how to get it done, and she says she knows he’s right. He says, pick her up in an hour? and she asks if he has a real job. (My question exactly!) He says he doesn’t want her to be alone right now, and she says she appreciates that. She means this lovingly, but please just go home. He says, fine. He’ll check on her later. She says, much later, and watches as he leaves. She takes out her phone and sends a text to Dante asking, where are you?

Dante’s phone dings, and he answers, headed to GH soon. She texts back, good. I’m already there. He gets up to leave, and Dex asks if he can talk to Dante for a second. He spoke to the Commissioner, and she wants to keep the ballistics report on the gun confidential for now. Dante asks, why is that? and Dex says he’s not sure, but he probably shouldn’t have said anything, so can they keep this between them? Dante says he already forgot about it, and Dex thanks him. Dante gets another text from Kristina that says, we need 2 talk ASAP!!!

Robert says, Diane has requested a meeting between Counselor Reynolds and her client Sonny Corinthos, and Anna says, to talk about the Cates murder? He says, they both know Sonny killed Cates. His conscience has never bothered him until now. Why bother talking? She says, now this is making sense. Because Kristina came to see her to tell her that she had information about the night Cates was killed. He says, she told him Michael stopped her, and she says, yeah, he did. So whatever it is that Kristina was going to say… He says, Michael knows what it is and they’re both covering for Sonny, and she says, if anything could make Sonny talk, it would be his kids. He asks if she really thinks Sonny would give up his freedom to protect his kids, and she says she thinks it’s possible. What time is this meeting? He says, noon today, and she says, so he wants her to keep the ballistics results under wraps until after Sonny has met with the FBI? He says he doesn’t know about her, but he can’t wait to hear what Sonny has to say, and she says, if he finds out what’s in the report, he’s going to change his mind about talking. Robert says, and the last thing they need is to give Sonny an excuse not to confess.

Anna says, they better get busy then, and Robert says, doing what? She says, breaking Sonny’s alibi. If Carly finds out Sonny is going to confess, then she might change her statement. She’d hate to see Carly go down covering for him. He says, she’d be an accessory to murder of a federal agent, and she says, even so. Sonny’s kids don’t deserve to lose both their parents.

Coming out of the lab, Brad says, enough about him. What’s up with Cody? Cody asks where he begins, and Brad says, how about the rumor that he’s Mac Scorpio’s son? Hospital gossip. Is it true? Cody says, yeah, it’s true, and Brad asks, how’s that been going? Cody says he almost ruined it right off the bat, and Brad says, naturally. Cody says, but Mac’s such a great guy, Mac forgave him, and Brad says he’s sure saving Maxie’s son from drowning probably scored Cody a few points. Cody says, it didn’t hurt, but he’s not really comfortable being seen as the hero. Brad says, why? He looks good in a white hat. Cody says he’s just glad everything turned out okay, and Brad says, because Mac is the best guy he knows. Cody says, he really is, and Brad says, and Lucas is the best guy he knows. So maybe Lucas will forgive him too. He hugs Cody and says, thanks. He’s the best. Portia comes out of the elevator and says, Mr. Cooper. Is this what you consider professional behavior?

Dante asks Kristina, what’s going on? What’s with all the text messages? She says, dad is meeting with the FBI at noon. He’s going to confess to killing Agent Cates. Dante says he doesn’t know anything about any meetings. Is Anna involved in this? She says she has no idea. All she knows is dad said he was meeting Diane at the PCPD to talk to the Feds. She knows Dante has figured out she knows more than she’s let on. He asks if she killed Cates, but she says, no. He asks if she saw who did kill Cates, and she says, no. Dante tells her, then she does what Sonny says. Do nothing and say nothing. She says, and just let him throw his life away? and he says, that depends. Does she trust their father enough to do what he’s asking her to do?

Sonny visits Alexis and she asks if Kristina is okay. He says, she’s fine, and she says she wasn’t expecting to see him. He says he thinks there’s something she should know, and she asks what it is. He says he has a meeting today at noon with FBI counsel Reynolds, and she says, the prosecutor in her case. Why? He says he’s going to tell him the truth.

Alexis says, and by telling him the truth, Sonny means what exactly? and Sonny says he’s going to tell him exactly what happened that night. She says, wow. She wasn’t expecting him to say that. How does he think Kristina is going to handle that? He says he already talked to her. She’s not going to put herself in jeopardy. Alexis says she hopes he’s right because they both know Kristina was at the Quartermaines and she had a gun. And if she doesn’t keep quiet, they’re going to arrest her for obstruction. He says he’s handling it, and she says, he needs to be a tad more specific. He says, before he agrees to tell the FBI everything, they’re going to have to promise him in writing that she and Kristina and Carly will be immune from prosecution.

A woman tells Elizabeth that she’s looking for the head nurse, Elizabeth Baldwin, and Elizabeth says, that’s her. How can she help? The woman says she’s with GH’s legal department. The hospital’s been issued a subpoena from the Court of Appeals regarding Heather Webber.

Portia says, when Brad is wearing this lab coat, he’s representing this hospital, and she assumes he’d act that way. He says, it was just a hug… which will not happen again. She says she’s sure she doesn’t need to remind him that he’s still on probation, and he says, no, she doesn’t. He knows he needs to prove that he deserves this job. She says, if he can, and he says he’s certainly going to try. In fact, the lab’s been really busy lately. If she needs him to work more hours… She says, no, that won’t be necessary now, and he asks if there have been problems with his work. She says, not yet, but why don’t they just keep it that way? She walks away.

At the station, Carly asks Dex, what’s up? and he asks if everything is all right. She says, you tell me. She was summoned here. Anna comes out and says, good. Carly is here. Fantastic. Just follow her. She leads Carly to the interrogation room, and Carly asks if she should call Diane, but Anna says, no. It’s just one question. Does she want to change her statement about the night Agent Cates was killed? Carly says, no, and Anna asks if she’s sure. Carly says, yes. Why would she want to change her statement? Anna says she didn’t think Carly would want to be charged again, and Carly says, charged with what? Anna says, making a false statement to the police. It’s a misdemeanor in the state of New York, as is obstruction, but the murder of an FBI agent is federal. Carly says, even so, she’s happy to stand by her original statement. She heads for the door, and Anna says, the statement is that she was in bed with Sonny the night Agent Cates was killed. Carly says, yes, and Anna says, they were seen having dinner at the MetroCourt. Are they back together? Carly asks why Anna cares, and Anna says, it just looks like maybe her interests lie elsewhere. She shows Carly the picture of her going into Jack’s room.

Cody sees Dante at the hospital and says he wanted to tell Dante in person that he just got tested. Dante says, thanks. He appreciates that. Cody asks, what’s wrong? Something tells him there’s more going on than Dante just worrying about Lulu. Dante says, there always is, but he can’t talk about this. Cody asks if it’s an ongoing investigation, and Dante says, something like that. Cody says, Dante knows he can tell him anything, and Dante says, but not this. Cody says, come on. Dante obviously needs to talk about it. What’s up? Dante says, they’ve got new evidence that could exonerate someone who’s been charged with a serious crime, and Cody says, he means Alexis. Dante asks why he’s naming names, and Cody says, sorry. Cop. Civilian. No names. Dante says, so it’s come to their attention that someone else is going to come forward and confess to this crime, and Cody asks if this other person actually committed the crime. Dante says, it’s highly likely, and Cody says, then what’s the problem? Dante says, they’re really only coming forward to get the other person off the hook, and Cody says, so if this person is exonerated, the real person wouldn’t have to confess. Dante says, that’s right. So they’re withholding this new evidence from the person in custody’s attorney. Cody says, so they have evidence that could exonerate Alexis, but the cops are keeping it from her lawyer so that Dante’s dad confesses to killing that FBI agent? And Dante is wondering if he should warn his dad before he confesses to a murder he probably committed. Is he right?

Anna says, if Carly and Sonny are trying to make a go of it again, why was she seen entering Brennan’s room? Carly says she’s co-owner of the MetroCourt. She was just checking on a guest. Anna says, Jack’s certainly getting the VIP treatment. Didn’t she find Carly in his room a couple of weeks back? Carly says, Mr. Brennan is the new WSB Station Chief, so he is a VIP, and she wants to make sure all her guests have the best stay possible. Anna says, really? Because there’s also a room service order for dinner and champagne that same night. Carly says, sounds like Mr. Brennan had big plans after she left, and Anna says, look. She really likes Carly, so she’s going to level with her. She’s making a big mistake. Carly says, it wouldn’t be the first time, and Anna says, Brennan is a dangerous man. She doesn’t want to get involved with him. Carly says, Anna isn’t going to be offended if she won’t take dating advice from her, is she? and Anna says she’s known him a really long time. She knows what he’s capable of. Carly says she’s calling Diane, but Anna says, it’s fine. They’re done. Diane is going to be very busy this afternoon anyway. So she doesn’t want to change her statement? Carly says she’s good, and Anna says, loyalty is a very commendable thing, but she thinks Carly is giving it to the wrong person. Carly says she’s going to go, and Anna thanks her for her time.

Ava says she remembers how Julian looked when he talked about Lucas. Julian was so proud of him. Lucas says, there were times he was proud of Julian too. But every time they got close, he’d find out some horrible thing Julian had done, or some new secret would come to light or he’d hurt somebody else. And it never stopped. She says, did he ever think the reason Julian made all of those bad choices was his insecurity? He was always so afraid he wasn’t good enough to be Lucas’s father.

Brad says he got Elizabeth’s page. What’s up? She hands him a paper and says, the Court of Appeals has ordered an investigation into Heather Webber’s bloodwork. He says, why? and she says, there are discrepancies between GH’s findings and the other labs. The court wants to know, was there a procedural error, is it some fault in their lab… He says, she wants him to look into it? and she says, the sooner, the better. He says he’ll get right on it, and she thanks him.

Dante says, no more helping his father. He’s a cop. Cody says, right, and he’s obligated to see justice is served. Dante says, it’s kind of his job, and Cody says, so what’s bothering him the most about this? Is it the withholding evidence thing? Because don’t cops do tricks like that all the time to get people to confess? Dante says, it’s the fact that he’s either betraying his badge or betraying his father, and Cody says, even if Dante thinks he did it? Dante says, especially if he thinks Sonny did it. If he tells Sonny what he knows, he’s lost all integrity. He literally would help him get away with murder. Cody asks if Dante wants to know what he thinks, and Dante says he doesn’t think he does. Cody says, probably not, because it’s probably not going to be helpful, but here goes anyways. After everything that FBI guy did to Dante’s family, he thinks it just comes down to one simple question. Which one’s more important to him, his family or his job?

Sonny says, the FBI is going to jump at the chance to put him behind bars. So he’s going to talk about everything that they’ve tried to pin on him. As long as they leave her, Kristina, and Carly alone. She says, because the crime in question isn’t enough, he’s going to tell them the whole story? and he says, they’re not going to play ball if he doesn’t give them something worthwhile. She says, so what about his associates in all his endeavors? What happens to them? He says he’ll deal with that. He doesn’t see another way. She says, so after all these years of him evading the authorities, he’s just going to give himself up, and he says, it’s either that or Alexis is going to spend the rest of her life in prison for something she didn’t do. Does she think he would let her do that? She says, the thought has crossed her mind, but she knows if he was given the choice between her and Kristina… He says he’s doing this for Kristina, and she says she thinks he’s doing it a little bit for her too. He says, a little bit, and she thanks him. He says, take care of our girl, and through her tears, she says she promises. Sonny gets up and leaves.

Lucas says, Julian was always his own worst enemy, and Ava says, at least they can agree on that. He says he didn’t mean it when he said all of his memories of Julian are bad, and she asks if he’d share one with her. It’s been a long time since she’s heard anyone say anything kind about her brother. He says he’s been thinking about the day Julian married Alexis. He was proud to be Julian’s best man, and he was so happy for him. And that day, he thought, maybe his dad could finally be happy. She says, and he would have been if he’d married anybody else. Alexis was literally the worst thing to happen to Julian. Lucas gets up and says, so much for fond memories, but she says she’s just trying to be honest. How many times has that woman broke his heart? He says, probably as many times as he broke hers, and Ava says, her constant judgements, her endless conditions to be worthy of her love and attention wore him down. It wore him out. And in the end, she was the reason he did all of those terrible things before he was killed. He says, she can’t blame Alexis for Julian’s actions, but she says she certainly can. He says, good talk. He’s got to run. She says, before he goes, please keep in mind that nobody should be judged entirely based on the worst thing they’ve done. His father loved him. He says he knows, and he loved him too. She thanks him for saying that. Just so he knows, she loves him too. It’s true they’re not close, but they could be. He says he’ll think about it, and she says, okay. She’d hate to think that he has so much family that he can afford to throw away his father’s side. He says he’d never throw away Avery… or her mother, and he leaves.

Portia says, Terry told her that the hospital received a court order about the lab’s testing, and Elizabeth says, it’s about Heather Webber’s bloodwork. Portia says, what about it? and Elizabeth says, Ric Lansing had her cobalt levels tested, and their lab concluded her levels were still high. Portia says, okay, that’s good, but Elizabeth says, he also had the tests run at three different labs. Portia says, it’s normal to do that, and Elizabeth says, none of the results matched theirs. So they’re just trying to prove that the error is with the GH lab, and that’s why the court is ordering an investigation. Portia says, humans make mistakes. Mistakes happen. You’d think they would drop it. Elizabeth says, a mistake like that could cast doubt over the integrity of their lab. And not just with Heather’s results, but other results in the past that have been used as evidence. Portia says, that’s a good point, and Elizabeth says, but don’t worry about it. She’s taking care of it. She’s sure it’s going to be fine.

Brad compares a paper to what’s on his laptop. He says, oh ho. Dr. Portia Robinson, what have you been up to? and he smiles.

Carly comes into the hospital, and Michael thanks her for coming. She says, something about Kristina? and he says, she’s not answering her phone. Of course (🍷) they can’t tell him whether she showed up for her therapy session or not, but he thinks she ditched it right after he dropped her off. Carly says, he didn’t watch her walk in? and he says, it felt intrusive. They have to find Kristina before she does something rash, and dad’s confession will all be for nothing.

Alexis goes into the visitor room to find Kristina and asks what she’s doing here. She wasn’t expecting to see her. Kristina says, they need to talk about dad, and Alexis says, her dad has been here. She knows what he’s going to do. Kristina asks if Alexis tried to talk him out of it, but Alexis asks why she’d do that. Kristina says she doesn’t know. This is all such a mess. She just wishes she’d told Anna everything she knew. Alexis asks what she told Anna, and Kristina says she went to see Anna to confess. Alexis says, confess to what? and Kristina says, driving Alexis’s care to the Quartermaines, stealing dad’s gun. She was trying to do anything she could to convince Anna that Alexis didn’t do this. Alexis asks if she told Anna anything, but Kristina says, no. Michael stopped her. Alexis says, don’t help. She’s just making everything worse. Kristina tells her, that’s what everyone says, but they need to stop pretending this isn’t her fault, because it is. If she never went to Ava’s hotel room, her child would still be alive. Cates would never be able to charge her with killing her daughter, and dad would have never been upset enough… Alexis says, what’s missing here is the truth and that’s what people need to hear. That her father actually did the thing he’s going to confess to, and he’s doing the right thing by turning himself in. Kristina says, but he did it because of her, and Alexis says, he did it because that’s what he does. Cates was never going to let up until Kristina was destroyed, until Michael was destroyed, until Dante was destroyed, and Sonny wasn’t going to let Cates hurt his children anymore. Kristina says, but if dad confesses, he goes to prison, and she can’t let that happen.

Sonny walks into the station, and Anna says, he’s early. He says he’s meeting Diane, and she says, someone will see her in as soon as she gets here. She asks him to follow her, when Dante runs in. He asks Sonny to wait. There’s something he should know.

On Monday, Molly tells Dex that it’s nice to know they might have some good news coming their way; Brad says he may have found something interesting; Martin asks why he wasn’t notified about Anna’s new evidence; and Alexis says, Kristina’s father got them into this and now he’s the one who’s got to get them out.

I saw The Platform and didn’t really know what to make of it, so I was surprised it got a sequel. EmpireOnline called it a bloated, murky haze, and the reviews aren’t great, but I’ll probably watch it anyway. Not many spoilers – more of an explanation of the system.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

Gino plays his violin outside of Bobbie’s, when Trina puts a dollar in his violin case. She asks if he knows any Billy Eilish.

Chase says he can’t put his finger on it, but something is different around here, and Brook says, good different or bad different? He says, definitely good. Listen… It’s quiet. She says, the kids are all in school, Tracy is out on a ride, Olivia is at the MetroCourt. Somehow, all of the planets are finally aligned, and they have this entire place to themselves. He says he has the afternoon off work. The planets can’t get any more aligned than that. He kisses her, when her phone rings. He asks her to ignore it, but she says she can’t. She looks at her phone and says, it’s Violet’s school. They’re sending her home.

Ric asks if Ava is suggesting someone at General Hospital altered Heather’s test results, and she says, it wouldn’t be the first time. He asks, who would do that? and she says, somebody who wants Heather kept behind bars. He says, lab tech?… Someone with maybe a little bit more authority. Somebody who could go in and out of any room in the hospital without being stopped. It’s also got to be somebody who is so invested in keeping Heather in prison, they’d be willing to risk anything to keep Heather behind bars.

Lucky knocks on Sonny’s office door and says, sorry to disturb him. He knows it’s been a long time. They hug.

Carly tells Josslyn, the doctors need to do a secondary screening of Lucky’s liver to make sure everything is okay, and then they can move forward with the transplant. Josslyn says, but Lulu’s going to be okay, and Carly says, it’s looking that way.  There’s a knock at the door and Carly opens it to Lucas. They hug, and he says, she’s looking good. She says, he’s home.

On the phone, Brook says, of course (🍷) … Absolutely. They’re on their way. She tells Chase, Violet’s fine. Physically fine. He says, so she’s not sick or hurt? and Brook says, no. He asks why they called, and she says, she hit a boy in her class. He laughs and says, no. Violet wouldn’t do that. She says, her teacher saw her do it, and he says, she got in a fight or something? Brook says she doesn’t know. Violet wouldn’t tell the teacher what happened. He says, since when does Violet not talk about anything? Something’s up. He’s going to go get her. Brook says, they’ll both go. It might take the both of them to get the truth out of her.

Ric asks if there’s someone at the hospital who was attacked by Heather, because that person would definitely want her to stay where she was, and Ava says, Heather and her hook put her in the hospital. So she won’t exactly be shedding any tears if she stays where she is. He says he’s sorry, and she says she’s just saying, the hospital is a big place and there are probably a lot of people who weren’t too excited about the possibility of running into Heather at the supermarket. He says, that’s a fair point, but if he’s going to prove GH’s tests are untrustworthy, connecting it to somebody might be helpful. She tells him to go ahead and prove his grand conspiracy. In the meantime, his client Heather will be rotting in Pentenville. He says, not if he connects the dots real fast, and she says, if he accuses a hospital employee with tampering with the tests, every lawyer GH has is going to come running, and nothing about his case will move fast. He asks if she thinks he should ditch the whole tampering theory, and she says she thinks if he wants things to move quickly, he should give GH an easy out. Just tell them up front that he thinks it’s probably an honest lab mistake. The hospital is sure to agree it’s a faulty test. He asks when she became such an expert in legal strategy, and she says, just giving him an alternative. If he wants to do it his way, do it his way. She doesn’t care. She has no dog in this fight. He says he thinks she does. So who is she protecting?

Lucas and Josslyn hug, and he says he’s missed her so much. He can’t wait to hear all about her life. He wants pictures, videos, all of it, especially the embarrassing stuff. She says, that’s most of it. She’s going to just reschedule with Trina. He says, go be with her friend. They have plenty of time to catch up. She says, it’s going to take a lot of time to get him fully caught up, and he says he’ll block out three hours. She leaves, and Carly says she knows they’ve been talking about him coming back for a while now, but until he texted her that the plane had landed, she just didn’t believe it. He says, it was time, and she suggests they sit down and talk. They go into the living room, and she asks if it was hard leaving Boston, but he says he didn’t have many ties there. Boston’s great, but he was working all the time. It made him a better doctor, but he didn’t want to live like that. He missed the family. She says, they missed him too. She’s so happy he’s here. He can stay as long as he likes, but just be warned. Donna is really into crafts, and he’s going to find beads and glue everywhere. He says he’ll keep an eye out, and she says she’s so glad he’s home. She knows it’s hard for him to be in Port Charles. He says he’s sorry he didn’t stick around after mom’s funeral, but she says, it’s okay. She gets it. He says he knew she would, and she says she just wants him to be okay. He says he’s getting there, and she says she knows he’s excited about the job. It’s just that after everything he’s been through, is he sure he’s up for it?

Sonny says he can’t express how happy he is that Lucky is home safe, and Lucky says he’ll never be able to repay Jason or Anna or Carly for everything they did to get him back here. Sonny says, even though Lucky got all the help, he heard it was hell to get back. He’s sure Lucky’s dad would be very proud that he did this for his sister. Lucky says, his dad might be relieved, but he’s not so sure he’d be proud. Sonny asks, what makes him say that, and Lucky says, because they both know he should have been here all along.

Gio finishes playing, and Trina applauds. He says, thanks, but he still needs to work on that bridge. She says, it sounded perfect to her, and he says he’s glad, but he needs something perfect to both of them. She says, that’s fair. What is he even doing out here? He says, change of pace. It’s a nice vibe. Fresh air, sound of the birds, the wind. Kids laughing, people talking. She says, so he likes to play surrounded by… life, and he says, when he plays outside, he feels like he’s part of this big orchestra that’s always playing, but they forget to listen to it. She says, and here she thought it was just about the acoustics. She’s glad she ran into him. She felt terrible that his performance at the gallery got canceled. He says, it wasn’t her fault, and she says she knows, but she’s been working overtime getting Harriet Nakia’s show back on the book and she finally did. She’d love to rebook him. He thanks her for the offer, but says he has to pass, and she asks, why? He says he knows how much she cares for Ava, but she pushed Uncle Sonny’s pregnant daughter out of a window and killed her baby. He’d never work for that woman now.

Ava says she’s not protecting anyone, and Ric says, she’s right. He doesn’t need to find out who did this. She says, really? Two seconds ago, he was Columbo. Now he’s going to walk away? He says, no. He’s just reevaluating the new information. She asks, what new information? and he says, the fact that she doesn’t want him to know who did this. He’s not going to pressure her into telling him who it is. She says, that would be a waste of time because it isn’t anyone, and he says he thinks he’s gotten to know her pretty well, and he knows she wouldn’t stick her neck out for anybody. So this person must mean a lot to her. He guesses he’s just going to have to figure out Heather’s case with what he’s got. He says he’ll see her later, and leaves.

Lucas asks if she’s questioning his skills as a surgeon, but Carly says, not at all. She just knows it isn’t easy for him to be back in Port Charles. He says, when he saw an opening for a trauma surgeon at GH, he didn’t even think about it; he just applied. She says, if there’s anything she can do for him to make it easier, let her know, and he says, just her being here makes it easier and better. He thinks this job was the universe telling him that he can’t run away forever. He doesn’t want to be that kind of man. She says, a man who runs from difficult situations? and he says he knows he will never be Wiley’s father, but he’d sure like a shot at being uncle. He thinks he could really nail that. (Isn’t Wiley, like, in college by now?) She says she thinks he’ll be a great uncle. Has he talked to Michael? He says he emailed Willow and Michael before he accepted the position. They’re both completely on board. She says she knows it’s going to be difficult to see Wiley, but if anyone can navigate that situation, it’s him. Speaking of navigating a difficult situation, has he been in touch with Brad? He says, no, and he’s not going to be. But while they’re on the subject of past relationships, what is this he hears about her and Sonny?

Sonny says, they all make the best decisions at any particular moment, and Lucky says he can’t help wondering how his dad would feel about him letting Lulu waste away in that bed. Sonny says, if Aiden messed up, would Lucky judge him? and Lucky says, of course (🍷) not. He loves Aiden. Sonny says, there’s his answer, and Lucky says, that’s just part of being a parent. Sonny says, not all parents. Even with him. He made that same mistake with Michael and still regrets it to this day. He can tell Lucky something about his father. He wouldn’t judge Lucky because he loved him. Lucky thanks him for saying that, and Sonny tells him that he’s saying it because it’s true. Don’t beat himself up. He’s here. That’s all that matters. Lucky says he has a lot of work to do, and not just the stuff with Lulu, and Sonny says, then do it. Has he seen Aiden? Lucky says, not yet. He’s been to some of the most dangerous places in the world, and here he is in Port Charles afraid to see his own son.

Trina says, Gio really won’t play at the gallery? and he says he’s sorry. Uncle Sonny’s been good to him. Maybe if Ava gets cleared, he’ll consider it. Trina says, it’s fine. If that’s how he feels about it, she’ll just ask someone else. But don’t worry. She’ll never ask him to play at the gallery again. She goes inside Bobbie’s.

Brook and Chase walk into the nook with Violet, and Chase says he knows Violet didn’t want to tell her teacher about what happened today, but she can tell them anything. Brook says, they love her like crazy, and Violet says she doesn’t want them to get mad. Chase says, she must have been pretty mad to hit that kid. What was his name? Violet says, Garth, and Brook says, what’s the story with Garth? Violet says, he’s a mean bully and he lies, and she hates him, and Chase asks what he lied about. Violet says, her dad, and Chase asks what he said. Violet tells him that Garth said her dad’s a drunk.

Carly says, Lucas is in town all of two hours. How does he know what’s going on with her and Sonny? He says, Joss, and she says she should have known. He says, she really should have. So? She says, so, it’s complicated. Can they just leave it at that? He says, for now. She’s going to tell him eventually. She says, probably, and he says, Joss also told him about Ava and Kristina. Does she think Ava did what they’re accusing her of? She says she doesn’t think Ava is innocent of anything, but to be honest, nobody knows what happened in that hotel room except for Kristina and Ava. And it’s a whole mess right now. Molly and Kristina are… Is he sorry he came back yet? He says, no. He thinks it’s good he came back when he did. He’s sorry if he sounded judgmental about her relationship with Sonny. After the relationship he had with Brad, he has no right to judge anyone. She says she understands, but she also knows he’s not going to let her off the hook that easily, and he says, definitely not. Now while she comes up with her Sonny story, he’s going to GH to fill out some forms and get his new ID. She says she’s happy he’s home. Their family really needs him right now. He says, somebody’s got to keep an eye on her, and leaves.

Lucky says he doesn’t even know if Aiden wants to see him, and Sonny asks why he wouldn’t want to. Lucky says, because he dropped the ball. They used to email and videochat every couple of weeks and he hasn’t made contact in a long time. Sonny says, Aiden still cares what Lucky thinks, but Lucky says he doesn’t know about that. Sonny asks if Lucky cared about what Luke thought about him, and Lucky says, more than anyone. Sonny says, then that’s what’s got to be at the front of his mind. Not what he wants to change, but what Aiden needs from him. Lucky says he doesn’t even know what that is, and Sonny says, he’s not going to get it by sitting here talking to him. He’s just got to show up no matter how tough it is. He’s got to show up. Lucky says, Sonny is right. He’s going to go see Aiden. Sonny says, he’s probably in school, right? and Lucky says, something else he should have known. Sonny says, he’s going to figure it out sooner or later, and when he does, they’ll change the start time of school and change the vacation schedule, and he’ll have to start all over. Lucky says, good to know. He guesses he’ll swing by GH and check up on Lulu and his buddy Isaiah. He thanks Sonny, and Sonny says he’s glad Lucky is back. Lucky says, him too. It’s good. Sonny says, that means he’s supposed to be here, and Lucky leaves.

On the phone in Bobbie’s, Trina says she saw their ad online and she was wondering if they’re still available. Give her a call back and they can talk details.

Outside, Gio puts away his violin, when Josslyn comes into the courtyard. She says she didn’t know he’d be here, and he says he was just rehearsing. She says she was about to head inside and hang out with Trina. Does he want to come? He says, it’s probably not a good idea. Trina isn’t going to want him there. She asks, what happened? and he says, they don’t see eye to eye on something, and neither of them is going to change their mind. She says, that doesn’t sound like Trina. She’s always down to share other people’s points of view. He says, not about Ava Jerome. Trina wanted him to play at the gallery and he said he couldn’t. Not after what Ava did to Kristina. Josslyn says, that’s it. Come with her. He follows her inside.

On the phone in her office, Portia leaves a message for Trina, letting her know she was thinking about her. She hopes school is going well. Trina doesn’t have to call her back. She just wanted to let Trina know that she loves her. There’s a knock at the door, and Ava walks in. Portia asks what she can do for her, and Ava says, as Portia is probably aware, Ric Lansing is representing her in her current legal difficulties. Portia says, okay… and Ava says, he’s also representing Heather Webber. Portia says she did know that, and Ava says, what Portia may not know is, Ric had several blood panels run to test Heather’s cobalt levels, four to be exact. Three were normal. One was not. Does she want to guess which one? Portia says, not really, and Ava says, the one test that showed Heather Webber still had elevated levels of cobalt in her blood was conducted right here at the GH lab. Portia says, their lab is excellent. She’s sure if there’s a problem, they can do another test. No issue at all. Ava says she’s surprised to hear Portia say that, and Portia says, why is that? Ava says, because Ric has come to the conclusion that someone here at GH tampered with those test results. Someone with an interest in keeping Heather in prison. Someone with access. Portia says, someone like her?

Brook asks what Violet thinks Garth meant when he said that about her dad, and Violet says, a drunk is someone who drinks too much. Brook says, it’s not a nice word, and Chase says, her dad has a disease. Brook says, we don’t call people unkind names because they’re sick, and Chase says, that’s right. Violet says she told her friend Jamie her dad couldn’t take her to the pumpkin patch this year because he was in a special hospital, and Brook says, that’s right. Violet tells them that she was saying that her daddy is going on lots of hikes and talking to people. But then, Garth said he wasn’t in a hospital. That he was in rehab because he was… Chase says, got it, and Violet says, then she hit him as hard as she could, but then he poured grape juice all over her shirt. Brook says, her dad bought her that shirt, didn’t he? and Violet says, yeah, and now it’s ruined because of stupid, mean Garth. Chase hugs her and says he’s so sorry any of that happened to her. He thanks her for telling them the truth, and she says she’s sorry she hit Garth. He just made her so mad. She’s sorry about her shirt. Brook says, that’s okay. Why don’t they go upstairs? Violet can change and she’ll throw the shirt in the washing machine. She’s sure she can get the stain out. Violet leaves and Brook follows her.

Isaiah walks around on crutches in his hospital room, when Lucky walks in. He says, not bad. Now pretend the Yankees won the series and jump up and down. Isaiah laughs and says, about time. What did he do, walk from Sidwell’s? Lucky says, looking pretty smooth there, and they shake hands. Isaiah says, this is actually him improved. It’s good to see him. Lucky says, it’s good to see Isaiah too. He guesses he owes Isaiah one. Isaiah says, oh yeah, and one day, he might actually take Lucky up on it. Lucky says he knows Isaiah is joking, but he’s not. They may not be trapped in Sidwell’s compound anymore, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have Isaiah’s back. Isaiah says he knows, and Lucky says, good. Because he does and he always will.

Carly walks into Pozzulo’s, and Sonny says he can make Carly an espresso in 25 seconds. She says, that’s impressive, but that’s okay. She’d feel like she was cheating on his old machine. He says, she doesn’t know what she’s missing, and she says, one more mystery she has to live with. He says, have it her way, and leads her to his office. He says, guess what? Lucky was here earlier. She says, how’d that go? and he says, he’s adjusting to being back in Port Charles. She says she’s sure it’s a lot for him, and he says, he’s a lot like his father. He’s tough. He’s going to be okay. She says she doesn’t know if he’s heard, but Lucas is back. He says he heard. How is he? She says, he’s good. He’s ready to start the next chapter of his life. He’s also concerned that they’re getting back together. Sonny says, this is going to be over soon, and she says, good, because that’s why she’s here.

Terry lets Lucas into her office and says, everyone is excited about him rejoining the staff, and he thanks her for making his transition back so smooth. She says, they’re lucky to have him. She’s sure he had his pick of hospitals. He says, GH was always his first choice. He’s looking forward to a fresh start in his hometown. She says she wants that for him too, but there’s something she thinks he should know.

On the phone, Trina says, if they’re schedule changes, let her know. She turns around to see Josslyn with Gio, and says, whatever they’re trying to do, the answer is no. Josslyn says, Ava is not worth losing a friendship, and neither is Sonny, but Trina says, this is between her and Gio. Josslyn says, they both see good sides to Sonny and Ava. How, she doesn’t know, but it doesn’t matter. She’s not here to waste her time or her energy trying to convince them that they’re wrong. Trina says, the world won’t end if everyone doesn’t have the same opinions, and Josslyn says, she’s right, but they don’t have to fight Sonny and Ava’s battles for them. Let them screw up their own lives, but don’t let them change one thing about theirs.

Portia asks if Ava really thinks she’d risk everything to get back at Heather, and Ava says, what she thinks is, if her daughter were in danger, she’d do everything she could to protect her. Changing a test result? That’s nothing. She’d pull strings, she’d pay bribes, she’d even kill if it meant keeping her child safe. And she’d sleep very well at night. Portia says she guesses they’re different in that way, but Ava says, no, they’re not. But Trina doesn’t know how far Portia would go to protect her. She’s getting her life back together. She’s going back to school. For the first time in a long time, she’s thinking about the future. Portia says, that’s exactly what she’s been praying for, and Ava says, well, it’s happening, and Trina doesn’t need to see her mother’s career crash and burn because of something she did to protect her daughter. Portia says she appreciates Ava coming to speak with her, but she doesn’t know what Ava is talking about. Ava says, come on. It took her all of three minutes to realize it was Portia who messed with those test results. And she won’t be the only one. So like it or not, Portia is going to need her help.

Lucas walks into the lab where Brad is working. He says he heard Brad was working here.

Trina says she understands why Gio feels the way he does about Ava. She was at the pool when Kristina fell. It was horrifying. Gio says, if Josslyn hadn’t done everything exactly right that day, Kristina would have died, and Trina says, that’s why he doesn’t want to do anything with Ava, and if he doesn’t want to perform at the gallery, don’t. He thanks her, and she says she’s just asking as his friend to consider the possibility that the fall was an accident. He says he wasn’t in the room with Kristina and Ava, so he’ll let the judge in the case decide who’s guilty. As far as the gallery gig, he won’t do it for Ava, but he’ll do it for her. She asks how he knows she hasn’t found his replacement.

Brook asks if Chase wants to go beat up Garth with her. She’s kidding… mostly. He asks how Violet is doing, and she says, she’s doing better. She’s upstairs changing her clothes. She’ll be down in a minute. Has he seen her phone? He says, she left it here when she went upstairs, and gives it to her. She checks something, and he asks what she’s doing. She says she’s looking for Garth’s parents’ phone number in the school directory. She’d like to have a little chat with them. He says, that’s probably not the best idea right now, and she says, he’s right. They should drive over there and have the conversation in person. That way, they can get eyes on Garth, see what his story is. He says, that might make things worse. Although there’s nothing stopping him from putting a boot on their car. She says she likes where his head is at on this, and he says, but you know who wouldn’t? Finn. She says she hates it, but he’s right. They need to focus on Violet. He says, there’s always going to be Garths in this world. They need to teach her how to deal with them. Short of her uncle tasing them. She says, that’s a good idea. The teaching, not the tasing. They just need to put their feelings aside and listen. He says he thinks Violet misses Finn more than they realized, and Brook says, it’s her way of crying out for help.

Lucky asks what Isaiah thinks of Port Charles, and Isaiah says, all he’s seen so far is the airport, the side of the street, and inside the hospital. Lucky says, all the hot tourist spots, and Isaiah says he’s also gotten to know some people around here. Lucky says, anyone interesting? and Isaiah says, one or two. Lucky says, sounds like Port Charles is growing on him, and Isaiah says, Lucky never told him much about his life here, which is cool, but now might be the time to tell him anything he needs to know. Lucky says, like what? and Isaiah says, like anything that might keep him from putting his foot in his mouth. Lucky says, Isaiah has met his ex, and Isaiah says, she’s pretty awesome. And he’s looking forward to meeting Lucky’s son. Has Lucky seen him yet? Lucky says, not yet, but he will soon, and Isaiah asks if Aiden knows what Lucky’s been doing. Lucky says he hasn’t given him too many details. He didn’t want to scare him. Isaiah says, he should know that Lucky’s been helping people. Isaiah is happy to tell him that, and more if Lucky wants. Lucky says he might take Isaiah up on that at some point. There are going to be a lot of questions, and he certainly doesn’t have all the answers. Isaiah asks if Lucky is worried how Aiden is going to react, and Lucky says, that, and he’s focused on his sister. He’s waiting to hear if he’s a match. Isaiah asks if he’s concerned about the surgery, and Lucky says, which one? Lulu’s or his?

Brad says, Lucas is back, and Lucas says he is, but not for Brad. They’re both going to be working here, so he thought he’d make some things clear since they’re bound to run into each other. If they speak to one another, it will only be about work. No catching up, no hashing things out. Nothing. The past is the past and that’s not going to change. He’s moving forward with his life and that doesn’t include Brad. Are they clear? Brad says, crystal, and Lucas says, good. Because he wants nothing to do with Brad – ever.

Portia asks why Ava wants to help her. What’s in it for her? Ava says, Trina. She doesn’t deserve to watch her mother lose everything. She’ll think it’s her fault, and she’s been through enough without adding that to it. Portia says she was just trying to protect Trina, and Ava says, keep doing it. Do what Ava tells her to do. No one has to know she’s doing it. Portia says, it’s already too late. Brad Cooper is back working at GH. He’s working in the lab and he’s already suspicious of her. Ava says, lie low. Don’t try to cover her tracks. Don’t try to hide what she’s done. The bigger deal she makes it, the bigger deal it’s going to become. Portia asks what she does about Ric Lansing, and Ava says she’ll handle Ric Lansing. She can certainly keep him away from Portia. Portia says, it’s not going to work. Ric Lansing will get Heather out of prison. They have to stop him.

Carly says, Sam told her that Alexis is protecting Kristina by not defending herself, and Sonny says, Alexis isn’t doing herself any favors in this case. Carly says she gets that, but Alexis shouldn’t be punished for a crime she didn’t commit, and he says, that’s why he hired Martin Grey to represent her. He’s already working on her defense. She says, he’s going to let this go to trial? but he says, no. He believes Alexis’s case is going to fall apart. She says, what if it doesn’t? and he says, it will. She says she’s on his side. She always has been and always will be. He asks why she thinks he came to her for an alibi, and she says, why does he think she gave him one? She doesn’t want anyone to go down for Cates’s murder. The world is a better place without him in it. He can’t destroy another life. Sonny says, he won’t, and she says, okay. Then he needs to tell her what they’re going to do to protect Alexis.

Violet comes downstairs, and Brook asks if she feels better. Violet says, yes, and Chase says, Garth shouldn’t have said what he did, but her dad wouldn’t want her to hit someone either. Brook’s phone rings, and she says she has to take this. She steps away, and Violet says, if Garth hadn’t said those mean things about her dad first, she wouldn’t have punched him. Chase says he knows, but he needs her to believe in her dad right now. Can she do that? Violet says she guesses so.

On the phone, someone tells Brook, the principal would like to speak to Violet’s guardian as soon as possible.

Violet says she’s sorry she hit Garth. Does Chase think she’s going to get in trouble? He says, even when you have a good reason for doing something, if you break the rules, there are consequences.

Gio asks if Trina is saying she already got someone to play at the gallery. Where did she find them? Trina says, the internet? and Josslyn says, there’s no way they’re better than him. Gio thanks her, and Trina says she will tell them that the musician she found is a little sketchy, so she’d be very happy if Gio would reconsider her offer and take the job. He says he’d be very happy to accept the offer – for her, and Josslyn says her work here is done. Gio says, if the environmental science degree doesn’t work out, she could always be a talent agent, and Trina says, very true. She could.

Ava says, unfortunately, there’s nothing they can do to stop Ric from trying to get Heather released from prison, but Portia says, there has to be. Ava says, he’s got three tests that prove the GH test was faulty. Heather Webber was affected by cobalt in her system. Portia says she can’t just sit here and do nothing, but Ava says, she can’t be seen anywhere near Heather’s case. Ava’s phone rings, and she says, it’s Ric. Ric says he’s got great news. He filed a summary motion on Heather’s case. He asked that her conviction be overturned immediately, and there’s a good chance it will be. Ava says, congratulations, and he says, don’t worry. Her mystery friend will remain a mystery. She thanks him and says she means it. Can she call him later? He says, no need. He just wanted her to know about the motion. He hangs up, and Ava looks at Portia.

Brad says, Lucas must hate him, and Lucas says, all of this would be easier if he did. He does feel sorry for Brad. He understands all the reasons Brad did what he did. Brad says he still shouldn’t have done it, and Lucas says, Brad was drawn into a nightmare. But Brad pulled him in too, and it’s a nightmare he never wants to think about or experience again. So goodbye, Brad. He walks out.

Isaiah says, so if Lulu’s body accepts Lucky’s liver, it will take her back to her baseline. He’ll have given her the best possible chance to wake up from her coma. Lucky says, don’t kid a kidder. The odds of that are pretty slim. Isaiah says, slim is better than none, and Lucky says he guesses. Isaiah says, Lucky is going to need about a week in the hospital, and another six to eight weeks after than to recover from the surgery. That being said, there are risks. There’s no such thing as a routine transplant surgery. Lucky says, and Isaiah wouldn’t consider… Isaiah says he’ll give advice and offer support, but he’s never going back into surgery. Lucky says, sorry. He never should have asked. Isaiah has done more than his part. Isaiah says, he means the whole risking his life to get Lucky help thing? and Lucky says, without him, he’d still be in the desert. Whatever happens next is on him.

Sonny says, don’t worry about it, and Carly says, he does have a plan to help Alexis, doesn’t he? He says, they can protect Alexis and everybody involved. All they have to do is find the gun Alexis threw away. She says, what if he doesn’t find it? and he says, then he’ll prove Alexis didn’t kill Jagger Cates. She says, how? and he says he’ll turn himself in.

On Monday, Willow says, maybe she and Michael can figure it out together; Robert tells Diane, Holly’s back in town; Terry has Lucky’s test results; and Lucky owes someone a huge apology.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

Lucky skulks around Bobbie’s. He looks through the window and sees Elizabeth. He goes inside, and she turns around. He walks toward her.

Molly visits Alexis in Pentenville. When she’s about to hug Alexis, the guard says, no contact with the prisoner, but Molly says she’s exercising her privilege as ADA, and they hug.

Trina walks into the gallery while Ava is on the phone. Ava says she understands, and she’ll be at the gallery all day. Trina asks if it’s about a piece of art, and Ava says she wishes. She’d rather be focused on keeping the gallery in the black than keeping herself out of prison.

Ric goes to see Heather, who says she appreciates that he hasn’t given up on her. She hasn’t either.

Marshall asks what Curtis is doing at The Savoy when he has a big fancy company to run. Curtis says he does, but Marshall going back to keeping secrets distracted him.

Dante brings Portia some donuts for the staff to thank them for taking good care of Lulu. She’s hanging on and it has a lot to do with the people here. She says, they provide the medical care, but he and the family give her something to live for.

Jason sits by Lulu’s bed and says, she’s doing her part, staying strong and hanging in. He’s grateful he and Anna could help.

Lucky says, coffee is going to stunt Elizabeth’s growth, and we flash back to when they met, and they both looked like they were 12. Elizabeth says she thinks it’s cigarettes, but he says, she never gave up coffee and she hasn’t changed a bit. She hugs him.

As Jason leaves Lulu’s room, he runs into Dante coming in.

Elizabeth asks if Lucky slept on the plane, and he says, a little, but sleep has been in short supply lately. He’s hungrier than he is tired. She says, he’s in the right place, and he says he loves the name, but hopes the menu hasn’t changed. She says, Carly would never, and asks a server for a BLT with onion rings and extra pickles. She asks how the flight was, and he says, a few bumps, nothing flying on the WSB’s dime couldn’t fix. She tells him that she’s now head nurse, and he congratulates her and says, there’s nobody better for the job. She says she can think of one or two, and he says, Aunt Bobbie would be proud. She says, Bobbie wouldn’t be proud if she misses her meeting, but he says he was hoping they could talk. She says, her nurses can wait a few minutes, and he says, they have a lot of catching up to do.

Curtis asks how long Marshall was going to hold out on him. He got a phone call congratulating him on his father’s big, national concert tour. The Wynton Marsalis Quartet – that’s big time. Marshall says, it’s something. Who told him? Curtis says, a booker called, wondering why he didn’t promote Marshall, and Marshall says he’s sorry he put Curtis on the spot. Curtis says he’s sorry he ruined Marshall’s surprise, but Marshall says, there’s no surprise. He’s not taking the gig.

Ava tells Trina that John Cates’s death changed nothing. She’s still going to trial for Kristina’s accident, and she’ll need to step back from the gallery. She’d like Trina to run it in her absence. Trina says she doesn’t know if she can swing the gallery and school, and Ava says, she’s going back to PCU? Trina says, it’s time she put Spencer, Esme, and Heather behind her and gets back to her life.

Ric says he’s sorry the tests didn’t corroborate their theory, and Heather says she started envisioning a life without her grandson, but then met her new cellmate, his ex no less. He laughs and asks if Alexis swooped in with her optimism. Heather says, Alexis was accused of killing someone to protect her daughter. The only difference between them is Alexis was of sound mind. If Alexis thinks there’s a chance she’ll beat her charge, why shouldn’t she? Ric says, she can’t compare the two cases. Heather committed multiple murders, and as it stands, her brain chemistry wasn’t altered. Heather says, hogwash. She wasn’t born a serial killer. Something made her one.

Portia talks to Deanna about Lucky’s tests. Her phone dings, and she almost runs into Brad while she’s looking at it.

Alexis tells Molly not to exploit her position on her behalf. She doesn’t want Molly to lose her license. Molly says, fine, but it’s on Alexis now to do everything in her power to defend herself. Alexis says, that’s the plan, but Molly says, not if she allows herself to be put in prison so Sonny won’t be.

Lucky and Elizabeth sit at a table, and he says, he wasn’t at his former camp. She says, which camp? and he says, they’re all basically the same. She asks if he was there by choice, or he was a prisoner? If he treats it like a mystery, so will everyone else, and that won’t fly with some people. One person in particular. He says, his mother? and she says, get used to telling the story. He tells her about Sidwell and how he kidnapped Isaiah, and she says, she met Isaiah. He’s a charmer. He asks if Isaiah talked about him. Did he flirt with her? She says, back to Sidwell, and he says he got snagged trying to bust Isaiah out. She says she gets why they’d want a physician, but why did they want him? He says, it turns out Sidwell is a big gambler, and they played cards, a lot of cards. She asks if there were big stakes, and he says, just lives. Eventually, Anna and Jason showed up and here he is. No big deal. She suggests he make it a big deal to their son. He’d feel better if Lucky was away for a good reason, and that it wasn’t just easier to be there than here.

Dante tells Jason that he’s not going to make it a big thing, but he and Rocco appreciate what he did for Lulu. Jason nods and leaves.  

Alexis says, Molly has spoken to Martin, and wonders if he doesn’t understand attorney/client privilege. Molly says, they’re looking out for her best interests, and Alexis says, his job is to give her the best defense. Molly says she thinks the best thing is for Alexis to go to trial armed with evidence as to who killed John, but Alexis says she thinks her best defense is to find the gun she disposed of. Molly says, neither Sam nor the PCPD have found it, so she’ll have to proceed. Alexis says she gets that Molly wants her to point the finger at Sonny, and Molly says, but if she does, Kristina will speak up or throw herself in the crosshairs. It’s her future she’s putting on the line to protect Kristina and for what? If Kristina hasn’t already ruined her life, she will, and all of Alexis’s efforts will be for nothing.

Trina tells Ava, enough time has passed. She has to get as close to normal as she can. Ava asks if she has to or is she ready to? and Trina says, maybe both. She doesn’t know if she’ll ever be ready. She talked to her mom and Aunt Stella, and they agree. She can’t get accustomed to what feels easy. She has to push past her comfort zone. Ava asks if that’s the gallery, and Trina says she doesn’t want to disappoint Ava, but Ava says, Trina could never disappoint her. Just promise if she needs a change, she’ll honor that. She’d hate if Trina felt pressured. Trina is invaluable to her and she couldn’t run the gallery without her, but Trina is more important to her as a friend.

Heather tells Ric that something was wrong with her, and it was put right when they took out her hip. She feels different and people say she acts different. He says he understands she wants to get out and seek compensation, but she says, it’s not about the money. It’s always been about Ace. One day, he’ll be old enough to understand why she went to prison, and when he does, she wants him to know it’s not because she’s a killer at heart. It can’t be all she amounts to in his eyes. That’s why she refuses to go down without a fight. She’ll take any angle she has to take, but she can’t do it without his help.

Portia asks what Brad is doing here, and he says he works here. She says, he’s not scheduled until later, and he says, somebody called in sick. He’s trying to be a team player and a model employee. She says, they’ll see how long that lasts, and he says she can hate on him all she wants. He doesn’t blame her, but he’s not going to screw this up. He owes that much to Britt. She says, so that’s how he got Terry’s recommendation. He played the dead best friend card.

Ric goes to the gallery and tells Ava that he may have hit on something in her statement that might be able to get her case thrown out. Ava says she likes the sound of that, and he says, now if he can just have that sliver of hope for the rest of his clients. She asks if things aren’t going well with Heather, and he says, having been the town pariah, he thought she’d have some empathy, but she says, not even one bit. He says, Heather has done some horrible things, but she just wants to be treated like a human being. He knows the feeling and imagines Ava does too.

Molly says, if Alexis goes to prison, who’s going to protect Kristina when she messes up? and Alexis says, she hopes Molly and Sam. Molly says she won’t. She can’t have a relationship with Kristina until Kristina can be responsible for her actions. It’s one thing to mess up her own life, but now she’s throwing Alexis under the bus. Alexis says, it was her choice, and if it was Molly, she’d do the same thing. Molly says she would never put Alexis in that position, and Alexis says, Kristina has severe postpartum and severe post-traumatic stress. She’s not in her right mind. She can’t make sane decisions right now. Molly says, what about the terrible decisions she’s made in the past? and Alexis says she’s Kristina’s mother. She has to protect her. She wishes Molly could understand. Molly says, but only a mother could, right? and Alexis says, that’s not what she meant, but Molly gets up and walks away.

Marshall says he needs Curtis’s signature on some papers that have been piling up, and Curtis says he’s at a loss. This is what Marshall always wanted, to play with the best on the biggest stages in the country. What if the opportunity doesn’t come around again? Marshall says, maybe it won’t, but he’s not going to get another son. Curtis asks if Marshall isn’t taking the gig because of him.

Elizabeth says, Lucky doesn’t owe her anything, but Aiden is a different story. He’s growing into a special young man, but he’s not bulletproof, and Lucky needs to handle him with care. Lucky asks how else she thinks he’d handle Aiden, and she says, Lucky doesn’t know him and she knows he didn’t come back for Aiden. He came back for Lulu and that’s fine; she gets it. She’s glad Lulu has hope, but she’s not assuming that means he’s staying, and she doesn’t want Aiden to assume that. he says he won’t make promises he can’t keep. That’s the least he owes her. She asks when he plans on seeing Aiden, and he says, today, but first, he’s due back at the hospital for another test. He doesn’t suppose the head nurse would want to accompany him. She asks if needles still freak him out, and he says, very much.

Jason sees Sam, and she asks if he’s okay. He says, everyone is in one piece, and Sam says she thinks he should talk to Danny. He says, that was his next stop. He’s sorry he didn’t talk to her before he left. She says, it was probably a good idea. She would have overreacted. As a matter of fact, she owes Carly an apology about him going to Africa. She should have known he was going to go. He says, because Carly asked? but she says, because of who he is. He never pretends to be anything else and she’s grateful. So are Dante and Rocco. She thanks him and says, if anyone ever gives him hell for being himself, including her, ignore them. (Um… I think he already does that.)

Outside Bobbie’s, Lucky asks what else Elizabeth can tell him about Aiden, and she suggests he find out for himself. He says, she did a beautiful job on the sign, and she asks if Carly told him that she painted it. He says, no. He’d know her brushstroke anywhere.

Jason says, before he goes, Sam’s not wrong to be upset that he didn’t come to her. She deserved to hear it from him, not Danny. She says, that means a lot, and he says, it means a lot that she understands why he had to go. Elizabeth and Lucky arrive at the hospital.

Curtis says, Marshall is passing on a once in a lifetime opportunity, but Marshall says, it was decided he’d run The Savoy while Curtis concentrated on Aurora. He made a commitment to his son and he’s not about to go off to play his clarinet. He can do that in Port Charles, in this very club. Curtis says, not with Wynton Marsalis. He can get somebody to run the club. Marshall says, if he takes the gig, he leaves tomorrow and he’s gone for four months, and N’neka is in grad school. Curtis says he’ll do it, but Marshall says, that’s impractical at best, and foolhardy at worst. The Savoy is Curtis’s baby and Aurora is his future. He needs to be here so Curtis can pursue his dream. He was a terrible father. Curtis says, Marshall isn’t going to feel guilty about what he can’t change. If he allows Marshall to pass on his shot, he’ll be a terrible son.

Brad says, Britt’s name may have come up. Terry felt bad enough for him to give him another chance. What’s the big deal? Why does Portia care if he works here or not?  

Heather asks how Alexis’s visit was with her daughter, but Alexis says she’s not discussing her family, and her case is a hard no. Heather asks if the weather is off limits too. They might as well make the best of it here. Alexis asks if that’s because they’re going to be in here a while, but Heather says, Alexis is innocent, and she was under the influence of cobalt. They’ll get out sooner or later. But say it’s later. She knows her way around here and Alexis is going to need looking out for. Alexis asks what she wants in return, and Heather says, there is something she wants from Alexis.

Ric says he’s not diminishing Heather’s crimes. He only knows her as his client, but not only does she seem confused as to why she did what she did, she seems genuinely repentant. That doesn’t sound like a typical murderer to him. His phone dings, and he says, she may not be. Ava asks why he thinks that, and he says, because of the tests he had rerun in two independent labs. They contradict the numbers from GH. Ava says she’s guessing that affirms his theory, and he says, in a word, yes.

Elizabeth introduces Deanna to Lucky, and she says, one last test, and he’ll get the green light for the liver donation. He leaves with her, and Jason comes over to Elizabeth. He says, Elizabeth seems like she’s in a good headspace, and she hugs him.

Sam goes to Lulu’s room and asks, how’s the patient? Dante says, hanging tough as usual, and she says, what about him? He says he’s better now that Lucky is here. He owes Jason and Anna big time. He asks if she talked to Jason, and she says, he apologized for not telling her that he was leaving, and she apologized for the way she reacted. He says, an adult conversation. Good. Does that mean they’re turning a corner?

Marshall says he wants to do right by Curtis, and Curtis says, then go show the world what an Ashford can do. Show him, TJ, Trina, and Aunt Stella. There’s no greater reward than seeing someone you love achieve their dreams. Marshall says, so if he goes, that’s his gift to his family? and Curtis says, live his life to the fullest, and he’ll be right there with him.

Heather says, it’s something Alexis can’t give her. It’s something she’s got to earn. Alexis wonders why she feels like she’ll regret asking, and says, what is it? Heather says, someone to believe in her the way Molly believes in Alexis. Ric said Molly is her biggest advocate. Alexis says she’s fortunate, and Heather says she dreams about something like that, having someone to fight for her. Nobody sticks up for someone like her. Why would they? She’s made some big mistakes. Alexis says, they all have, but Heather says, Alexis didn’t give up her kids. Maybe if she’d had someone like Alexis to follow their lead, it would have been different. Alexis did it right.  

Brad says he’s legitimately curious as to why he bothers Portia so much, and she flashes back to changing Heather’s lab results. She says, because she’s Co-Chief of Staff and is responsible for the patients and the employees. He’s demonstrated that he’s not responsible for anyone, much less lab work. He says he’s not trying to cause trouble. He just wants to put in his 8 hours and go home. She says, he has 7 to go. After that, who knows? He’s on probation, right? He says, that’s why he wants to be the perfect employee. He leaves, and Trina comes in. She asks if Portia is okay. (If Portia tries to pin this on Brad, I can’t with her anymore.)

Ava says, so a high reading would show that the hip replacement had no impact, and Heather was of sound mind when she went on her hooking spree, and Ric says, a lower number would show the violence stemmed from her bad hip. The results were only high at GH. If he brings it to trial, he has to account for those results. Ava says, maybe it’s not a mistake at all.

Ric asks if Ava is suggesting someone at GH altered the results, and she says, it wouldn’t be the first time. He asks, who would do that? and she says, somebody who wants Heather kept behind bars.

Portia tells Trina that she’s fine. There’s just a lot going on. What about her? Trina says she talked to Ava about going back to school. The issue now is her remedial art history class at the Sorbonne. It’s messing with her schedule. She asks if that’s Brad, and Portia says, he’s back at the hospital… for now. Trina says, Aunt Stella calls Brad a bad egg, and Portia says, he casts a long shadow. Trian says, like Esme and Heather, and Portia says, yeah, but Esme and Heather are out of their lives for good.

Marshall says, Curtis wins. He’ll accept the offer on two conditions. Curtis and the family come and hear him play… Curtis says, they expect the best seats in the house, and Marshall says, done. And two. The second Curtis’s juggling here and Aurora becomes too much, call him and he’ll come running. Curtis says he will, but Marshall won’t have to. Now can he offer his dad congratulations? Marshall says, bring it in, and Curtis says he’s so proud of Marhsall. They hug, do fancy handshakes, make noises, and yell, Wynton Marsalis! over and over.  so proud hug my dad his son

Alexis asks what Ric said, and Heather tells her that Ric said her cobalt test numbers weren’t down, and currently don’t support that theory. Alexis asks if he used the term currently, and Heather asks why it matters. Alexis says, Ric might be hedging his bets. Heather needs to have more tests run. Maybe they’ll paint another picture. Technology isn’t foolproof. Heather says she knows what that is… hope.

Sam tells Dante that she’s trying to shift her perspective. It’s a work in progress. She realizes Jason did a good thing. He took a risk for Lulu and her family, for Dante and Rocco. She’s okay with that. All she wants is for Lulu to make it. Dante says him too, but it’s important for him that Sam knows the person he needs and the person he’d be lost without is her.

Jason tells Elizabeth that he’s glad he could help. Now all they need is for Lulu to pull through. Lucky comes out, and Jason says he’ll see them later and leaves. Elizabeth asks, how’d it go? and he says he didn’t faint and got a juice box. She says, so he didn’t need her, and he says, let’s not go overboard. She says she has to start work, and he says he’ll see her later. She asks if he’s going to see Aiden first, and he says, yeah. He thanks her for everything and says he has a good feeling about this. She says, so does she, and leaves.

Tomorrow, Brook tells Chase that it might take the both of them to get the truth out of her; Rick asks who Ava is protecting; and Lucky tells Sonny that they both know he should have been here all along.

🍊 Johnny J. and the Oranges…

After Tamra ruined Katie’s dinner party by overreacting, we found out that the Ryan/FBI insinuation was regarding illegal gambling and Ryan’s business partner Matt using Ryan’s address as his business address. It seemed like the issue was really with Matt, who’s a professional gambler. Tamra said it was disgusting and Ryan was a horrible human being. Wow. She sets the bar pretty low for disgusting and horrible. How about thirsty middle-aged women who get baptized for screen time, then never act like a Christian again? Katie summed it up best when she said, what a f***ing night.

Emily went over to Gina’s new place and checked out the kids’ room. They each took turns spinning on the fireman’s pole, and in Gina’s interview, she said she wouldn’t be worthy of a stripper name because that sh*t is too much work. I concur. I can just imagine landing on my ass while trying to spin on a pole. In Fancy Pants Heather’s interview, she said she would have liked the opportunity to talk to Emily about the size issue. Here’s where I looked at the camera like Jim in The Office because she did have the opportunity. It was even in the flashback from last week. Emily started to tell Fancy Pants that she just wanted to have a conversation, when Fancy Pants interrupted her and asked her to be quiet for a minute. Oh wait. Fancy Pants meant a one-sided conversation. Otherwise known as a lecture.

Katie was discovering her Korean roots, which she wished she’d been introduced to as a child. Same with my Lithuanian/Native American roots. In her interview, she said, the only Korean phrase she knew was, f*** your mother, but the text said that she was actually speaking Mandarin, so apparently, she doesn’t even know that. I understand though. I took two years of French and all I can do is tell you how to pack a suitcase and curse you out.

Shannon had a 60th birthday age-appropriate tea. She laughed about being a spinster, but I have no doubt she’s not laughing on the inside. No surprise, Fancy Pants suddenly wanted to talk to Emily at the tea, and when Emily said she’s already tried that, Fancy Pants said, I wasn’t in the moment at the time. Because it’s all about her. Gina hit the nail on the head in her interview when she said that Fancy Pants always needed to remove herself, step away, and come up with the perfect thing to say. I think that’s because she wants to control all situations, whether they involve her or not. Alexis sent a flower arrangement with an olive branch in it, but Shannon said it was too late. She had no interest in being friendly. I can’t say as I blame her, and I agree with Emily, who said in her interview that Alexis had been making Shannon’s life hell. Shannon said, Alexis’s coach, aka Johnny J., was telling her to be nice now, and in Tamra’s interview, she scoffed and rolled her eyes, but I tend to agree with Shannon. Alexis isn’t smart enough to devise this kind of hate campaign. Shannon said she was hosting a trip to London for the group, but Alexis wasn’t invited. Everyone shared their favorite memory of Shannon, and they all involved a lot of laughter, which is something I wish we saw more of on this show. Exhausted was the word of the episode.

Katie and Jenn paid a visit to Alexis in order to gently let her down about the trip. After hopping around and flailing her arms, Alexis said she just wanted peace in the group. Katie told her to check her phone, and there was a text from Shannon saying she wasn’t interested in an olive branch. Johnny J. showed up in Alexis’s interview and said his hands had been tied, as the statute of limitations was nearly up for a loan lawsuit. Even though Katie wanted to be Asian Switzerland, she admitted in her interview that she thought Alexis had leaked the lawsuit to People.

🧂 There’s Salt In My Lake…

While I don’t know new Housewife Bronwyn at all, kudos to her fashion sense. Just remember, it’s fashion, not a costume. In Heather’s interview, she confused Alice Cooper with Gene Simmons, and said, honest mistake. Aren’t all actual mistakes honest? And does that really apply here? More like a you-don’t-know-your-rock-legends mistake. In a Housewives first, there was a girls’ trip to Milwaukee. A suite at the Bucks game seemed like the usual, but not so much a trip to the Bobblehead Museum. We flashed back to Mary calling Whitney a bobblehead, but in Mary’s interview, she said Whitney had passed the bobblehead baton to someone else. Do tell.

Bronwyn was upset over Lisa not coming to her defense during last week’s gang-up on her, but she said she wasn’t throwing Lisa under the bus… yet. However, she was turning the bus on. Whitney, Bronwyn, Mary and new Wife Meili went to the museum, where there were over 10,000 bobbleheads, and they were given a scavenger hunt. The collection was quite impressive. Nearly everyone even moderately famous has been made into a bobblehead. There was also a casino close by where the rest of the group gambled. Apparently, there are rumors swirling on social media that Whitney resells jewelry she gets from Alibaba, which is not a good look.

The suite was amazing and the buffet even more so. Heather said she was as happy as a puppy with two peters over the lobster corndogs, which sounds like something Captain Lee would say. Brittani found out that her boyfriend was hitting on Angie’s brow girl, and I’m not sure how much of the game was actually watched. After alerting Brittani, Angie hoped Brittani wouldn’t be pissed at her, which she shouldn’t be, but probably will be. Bronwyn confronted Lisa for not having her back and Heather for her needing her back covered in the first place. In Bronwyn’s interview, she said she wasn’t going to stop until they all realized that all of them talked about each other. She said she wasn’t part of the problem, but she was the best dressed part of the problem. I concur.

Next time, a dance-off, a curling game, and dinner table screaming. In other words, the usual.

🎵 Side note: I’m not loving Heather these days. I think she lost a few other things along with that weight, like her appeal and decency. Her ego must have gotten even bigger when she was on Watch What Happens Live tonight with Sarah Paulson. Sarah scolded her for not coming backstage when she saw Sarah on Broadway in Appropriate. Apparently, Sarah had alerted the entire cast, who’d been very excited about Heather’s presence. Is there really such a meager choice of amusement in the stage world?

✅ Fun Fact: Mary Cosby’s father once lived a street away from Jeffrey Dahmer and wondered where a funky smell was coming from. A week later, Dahmer was arrested, and he saw the whole thing go down. Of course, Mary could be making it up, but that’s pretty random. Six degrees from my part, I once met a guy who was a counselor of Dahmer’s when he (Dahmer, not the guy I met) was in prison. He said that Dahmer was a really nice guy when he was on his medication, but you didn’t want to be near him when he wasn’t. Take from that what you will.
