General Hospital

At Rice Plaza, Willow says Wiley has been such a good boy while they were shopping, why don’t they celebrate with some hot chocolate? She sees Nina on a bench, dealing with work calls.

Phyllis is wiping down the bar at Charlie’s, when Carly comes in. Carly says, Sonny has Phyllis working already, and Phyllis says, Sonny is counting on her to make this place a success. Since there’s no time like the present… Carly says she thinks Sonny is so excited to have Phyllis in Port Charles, if she made Charlie’s a success, that’s just an added bonus. Phyllis asks if she can get Carly something, but Carly doesn’t want to interrupt her while she’s busy. Phyllis says she has time to talk; what’s on Carly’s mind? Carly says Sonny’s told her so much about Phyllis, she thought they could get to know each other one-on-one.

Alexis sees Sonny at the hospital, and says, she was wondering when she’d run into him. He says, he’s glad she’s back, and they hug.

Maxie goes to the reception desk, and Austin says, she gives Bobbie a ride to work and picks her up; she’s a good friend. She says, actually, she came to talk to him, and he asks, what’s up? She says she doesn’t like the way they left things. He’s obviously angry with her, and she’d like to know what she did.

Dante is in the shower, when his phone rings. Still at the gallery, Olivia says, pick up, but gets voicemail. She tells him, Leo is missing. Please come to Ava’s gallery right away. She needs his help. Ned joins her with Brook, and she says, any word? He says, Leo’s gone.

Spencer tells Trina, congratulations on a job well done, and she thanks him. She says, she has to admit, she was a bit nervous, but everything went off without a hitch. Esme says, it really did. So amazing.

Brando asks if Ava has seen Sasha, but she hasn’t. He says, she must still be in the ladies room, and Ava says, for a pregnant woman in her third trimester, that’s a solid guess. Is everything all right? He says, he found out some amazing news about their baby, and can’t wait to talk to Sasha about it.

Gladys says, dammit. This door is jammed tight. This place is a firetrap. Sasha says, oh no, and Gladys says, don’t worry. On the bright side, when they get out of here, they can sue Ava and make a nice little bundle; get some free art in the process… Sasha says, that’s not what she meant, and Gladys asks, what is it? Sasha says, her water just broke.

Austin says he’s not angry with Maxie. This is just what disagreement looks like, and they’ve agreed to disagree when it comes to Brook. She says, and Gladys? and he says, he won’t run down Maxie’s friend in front of her anymore. He promises. She says she appreciates that. She knows what Brook did to him was unforgivable, but… He says, there’s no but in that sense. What she did was unforgivable period. She says, at least Brook was looking out for her family, and he says, of which he’s a part of. She says, Gladys just looks out for Gladys. He flashes back to Gladys telling him, it’s not about what Brook did to her, it’s what she’s doing to a dear, kind extremely handsome friend of hers, and he says, Valentin Cassadine. He tells Maxie, maybe Gladys just needs someone to talk to, and Maxie says, she kind of thinks Gladys talks too much. He doesn’t understand why it bothers her so much, and she says, because of Brook.

Sonny tells Alexis, Kristina called him, and said Alexis had been released from prison. Kristina was so excited, she almost blew his eardrum out. Alexis says, the lengths she’ll go, to have their daughter miss her. She’s sorry for what she did to Dante. Sonny says, she wouldn’t have picked up the syringe if… She says she wasn’t drunk out of her mind, but he says she was worked up about Peter August writing that article that Franco was dangerous. She thanks him for making excuses, but says he doesn’t have to do that. He asks how she’s doing, and she says she just came from a meeting, if that’s any indication. He says, it indicates she’s committed to staying sober, and she says, ten months today. She asks what he’s doing here, and he says he had a doctor’s appointment. She says, good place to come; there’s a lot of doctors here. He says he’s more concerned about her. Rough reentry? She says, yeah, but she’s hoping in time, things get back to normal. He laughs, saying, that’s not going to happen, and she says, thanks for the pep talk. He says, when things change, they change for the good.

Wiley runs to Nina, and she picks him up. Willow just stands there, staring at her, and Nina puts him back down.

Phyllis says, she’s looking forward to getting to know Sonny’s family, and Carly says, they’re looking forward to getting to know her too. She was told Phyllis moved out of the MetroCourt. Did she find an apartment? Phyllis says, not exactly; she’s living here. Carly says, in that dingy old office of Julian’s? Phyllis says, it’s a perfectly good room, but Carly says, it’s not. Please come back to the MetroCourt, and she’ll help Phyllis find an apartment. Phyllis says, thank you, but the back room is fine. She likes to keep things simple. Too much time in a small town, she guesses. Carly says, a very nice small town. Sonny told her things were good in Nixon Falls, and Phyllis says, they were. Carly asks if Phyllis will tell her about it.

Sasha says she can’t be stuck in here. Her water broke. She’s about to give birth. She has to get to the hospital. Gladys asks if she’s having contractions, and Sasha says, she was having discomfort before, so maybe. Gladys says she’s adorable. When she has a real contraction, she’ll know it. The good news is, they have some time. Babies don’t just pop right out. She still has no service, and suggests they try Sasha’s phone, but Sasha says she left it with Brando. Gladys says, not a problem; that’s Plan A. She bangs on the door again, and yells, we’re stuck in here! Sasha yowls, and sits down, and Gladys runs over. She says, contraction, and tells Sasha to just hang on to her. She can do this.

Dante arrives at the gallery, and Olivia hugs him, saying, thank God he’s here. They’ve got to find Leo. He says, walk him through it, and Brook says, she was right over there with Leo, turned around for a second, and he was gone. She checked the back room, the hallways, the bathroom. Her dad is outside checking the parking lot in case Leo left something in the car. Dante says, they’re covering a lot of ground, and Trina asks, what’s going on? Brook says, Leo is missing, and Trina asks what they can do to help. Ned runs in, and says, the valet saw Leo outside, and Olivia says, he just let Leo run off? Ned says, other people were leaving, and he assumed Leo was with them. Olivia starts to cry, saying, somebody could have walked off with him, but Dante says, calm down. She says he’s right, and Ned tells her, the valet said Leo didn’t seem upset; he was calm. Dante wants to talk to the valet, and Ned leaves with him. Ava says she’ll check the outside security footage, and Spencer says, there’s an ice cream truck on the corner. Trina says, kids love ice cream, and they jet, with Esme following. Brook says she’s going to check the gallery again, and Olivia says she’ll go in the opposite direction. If Brook sees anything, scream bloody murder. Brook says, they’ll find Leo, and Olivia says, damn straight they will.

Austin wonders what him being friendly with Gladys has to do with Maxie and Brook, and Maxie says, Gladys hates Brook. He says he can’t imagine why, and she says she’ll tell him. Gladys is Brook’s assistant, and Brook has this crazy notion Gladys should assist, as in do her job. He can’t imagine working for Brook is a picnic, and Maxie says, who knows? Glady’s sure doesn’t. All Gladys does is complain. She’s a terrible employee, and an even worse human being. He says, why not just fire her? and Maxie says, that’s beside the point, but he asks what the point is. She says she needs a cease fire between him and Brook, and he asks why it’s so important to her. She says, if he keeps going after Brook, she might be collateral damage.

Nina says, it’s good to see Wiley; she’s missed him so much. She looks at Willow, and tells Wiley, she’s sorry, but she has to go. Wiley tells her to stay, and she says she wants to, but she has to go. She’s about to cry, and Willow says, they were just going to get some hot chocolate. She should stay. Nina takes Wiley’s hand.

Phyllis tells Carly, then, the bartender quit an hour into his shift. Lenny was so mad. They really had their hands full. Carly asks what they did, and Phyllis says, adapted. Has anything like that ever happened at the MetroCourt? Carly says, they’ve had their share of walk-outs, but they have so much staff, there’s always someone to cover. Phyllis says, must be nice, and Carly says, even with the five-star rating, it’s hard to get good help. Phyllis says, it’s not every day that someone like Mike comes along. She’s sorry. She’s still getting used to calling him Sonny. Carly says, it’s okay. Phyllis didn’t know Mike was really Sonny Corinthos. Nina knew it.

Olivia and Brook come back, and Olivia tells Ned, they checked all around the building. Brook says, even the dumpsters, and Dante says, he put in a missing child alert. Spencer, Trina, and Esme come in, and Spencer says, they checked out the ice cream truck. Trina says, they looked up and down the street, and she’s sorry, but… Esme says, nobody remembers seeing Leo. Ava says she checked the footage, and Leo seemed absolutely fine, walking down the sidewalk, as calm as can be. Dante asks where he was headed, and Ava says, south. Dante says, near the harbor. Was there anyone with him? Ava says, not that she saw, and Olivia wonders where he could be going. Ned asks Brook to go over it one more time. Where were they? She takes him over to the octopus portrait, and says, right over here. Leo wanted to show her the pictures, and they were looking at the pictures when she got distracted by some cater waiter. By the time she turned around, Leo was gone. Ned says he thinks he knows where Leo went.

Gladys yells, help! We’re stuck in here! Woman in labor! She asks why Sasha gave Brando her phone, and Sasha says, they were going to wait to find out the sex of the baby, but a nurse accidentally revealed it in an email. Gladys says, so Sasha knows? and Sasha says she does. Gladys says, don’t hold her in suspense; she’s got baby clothes to buy. Sasha says she’ll tell Gladys, but only after Brando knows. Gladys says, she didn’t tell him yet? and Sasha says, that’s why she gave him her phone. So he could decide for himself whether he wants to know or not. Gladys says, of course (🍷) he wants to know, and bangs on the door some more, yelling, woman having a baby! Gladys asks if they’re having a boy or a girl, when Sasha has another contraction. Gladys yells, in here! and Brando comes down the hall. He says, mom? and she says, the door’s stuck. He realizes something is shoved in the door jamb, and pulls it out. He opens the door, and Gladys says, that was quick, calling him her big strong son. He says, the door was wedged shut, and she asks if he’s saying somebody locked him in. She flashes back to Brook opening the door for a moment, and leaving when Gladys said she was off the clock. She says, that little snake, and Sasha has another contraction. Brando runs over to her, and asks if she’s okay. She says, they have to hurry. The baby’s coming.

Alexis tells Sonny, she knows her time in the pokey changed her. For better or worse remains to be seen. He says, she seems a little lost, but she’s going to find her way, and she asks how he knows that. He says, because she’s Alexis Davis, and she wouldn’t have it any other way. She says, right. So word on the street is, since he’s been back, he’s a little nicer. He laughs, and says she can’t believe everything she hears. She says, that’s what she was thinking too. Maybe a little more mellow. He says, all right, and she says, she was thinking, because for the better part of a year, he wasn’t living like a criminal. He says, that’s true, and she says, correct her if she’s wrong, but he lost his memory. He’s a man without a past, so he’s got a clean slate, right? He says, something like that, and she says he has no idea how appealing that sounds to her.

Brando brings Sasha into the hospital, and Maxie asks, what’s going on? Did something happen with the baby? Brando says Sasha is having it, and Maxie says, right now? Austin brings a wheelchair over, and says, have a seat. Sasha sits, and he asks, who’s her OB? She says, Dr. Navarro. They called her on the way over, and she’s waiting on 4. Maxie says she knows this is a really weird thing to say right now, but she loves Sasha’s outfit. Sasha says, they were at the Photo Ark exhibit at the Jerome gallery; one last night out before the baby. Maxie says she made it just under the wire, and Sasha says, oh my God. When she leaves this hospital, she’s going to be a mom. She doesn’t think she’s ready. Maxie tells her, she already is a mom. She’s just getting ready to meet her baby. Austin, Brando, and Sasha go into the elevator.

Carly says, Sonny told her that he and Nina knew each other in Nixon Falls. She knew him, and never said a word to him about his family back home. And the worst part is, Nina came back to Port Charles several times while Sonny was there, and saw her. She saw Sonny’s family. She saw them mourning, and lied to their faces. Phyllis says, what Nina did was terrible, and Carly says she’s sorry. That’s not why she came here. They should stop talking about Nina. Phyllis asks if Carly is sure she wants to. She seems to have a lot to get off her chest. Carly says, because she can’t let it go. Every time she sees Nina, every time she thinks about her, she’s filled with so much anger and rage. Phyllis says, it sounds like a hard burden to carry, and Carly says, it is. Phyllis says she has to ask, is all this anger at Nina worth her energy?

Trina hopes Ned is right about where Leo went, and Spencer says he ran away once or twice when he was little; he was always okay. Granted, he was a little bit older than Leo is. Trina says, Joss and Cam told her that he had a chauffeur named Chandler that was with him most of the time. Spencer says, not when he ran away. He had Chandler drop him off first. Trina says, of course (🍷) he did, and Esme says, she loves the idea of little Spence up to no good, but Spencer says he’s not sure the people who had to live through it would agree with her. Trina asks, what was up with Sasha and Mrs. Corbin being stuck in the back room? How did that even happen? Of course (🍷) poor Sasha goes into labor. It’s a good thing Brando found Sasha, and got her to the hospital. Otherwise, she would have been stuck back there having the baby. Esme says, Trina was in the back room right before they were, right? and Trina says, she had to get the check and the flowers for Mr. Sartore. Spencer says, it’s lucky Trina didn’t get stuck back there with them. That would have been awful. Esme says, I know, right? It’s terrible.

Olivia and Ned go down to the docks, and call for Leo. Olivia asks if he really thinks Leo would come there; it’s so dark and scary. They shine their flashlights around, and see Leo, lying on the ground.

Sonny says, a clean slate’s not all it’s cracked up to be, and she says, she had a lot of time in prison to sit around and catalog her mistakes. She thinks it would be good to forget all that, but he says, he didn’t just forget all his mistakes. He forgot all the good things; his wife, his kids, her. He knows she doesn’t know Lenny and Phyllis, but they were great. They took him in. He was real happy in Nixon Falls, but then he got his memory back, and he couldn’t run fast enough to get home. She says she gets that. She wouldn’t want to forget her daughters. Her love life is an entirely different story. The last two alone; one tried to kill her, and the other one died in her bed. Who’d want to remember that? He says, think of it this way, it’s got to be better next time, right? She laughs, and says, not really. It’s so cute that he thinks there’s going to be a next time. She’s done. He tells her, if she says so, and she says she does. Actually, she should start looking for love, because he knows the saying, when you stop looking for love is when you find it.

Willow says, Wiley remembers Cindy from daycare, right? She’s going to take him to see Tom the Turkey, while she and Grandma Nina have a little chat. Cindy takes Wiley, and Nina thanks Willow. Willow says she did it for Wiley, and Nina says she knows. She just hopes Michael isn’t too angry when he hears. Willow says, just so Nina knows, she agrees with Michael about her not seeing Wiley, at least not right now. But chances are, their paths are going to cross from time to time, and she didn’t see the point in dragging Wiley away when he was so happy to see her. He misses his grandma. Nina says she missed him too, and Willow says, he also missed Sonny when he was gone. Nina says, of course (🍷). She just wants Willow to know that she’s very grateful for whatever time she can spend with Wiley. Willow says she really hates what Nina did, and doesn’t know if she can forgive Nina for it, but she’s also not going to make Wiley pay for Nina’s actions.

Carly isn’t sure she understands the question, and Phyllis says, she certainly doesn’t expect Carly to forgive Nina, but hopes Carly moves on for her own sake. Carly says that’s really hard for her, and Phyllis says she knows, but it seems Carly’s anger at Nina is only hurting her. Carly says, Nina stole more than time with her husband. She’s known Sonny for decades. She knows him better than anyone, and now, thanks to Nina, there’s a nine-month gap where Sonny was someone else; some guy named Mike. And she’s never going to know that guy. There’s a part of Sonny’s life where he’s a stranger to her, and she hates that. Phyllis says, of course (🍷) she does, but even though that gap exists, it doesn’t mean Carly has to get stuck in it. Carly says, it would be a lot easier if Nina left Port Charles; if her offices weren’t in Carly’s hotel. Phyllis says she understands Sonny spoke to Nina, told her to steer clear of him and his family. Carly says, yeah, and Phyllis says, has Nina complied? Carly says, more or less. She’s Nina’s landlord; they’re bound to cross paths. Phyllis says, it seems to her that both Sonny and Nina are trying to move forward. Can Carly try as well?

Gladys comes into the hospital, and Brando tells her that Dr. Navarro is in with Sasha. Gladys wants to see her, but Brando suggests they give her some privacy. She says, sorry; he’s right. She’s just so excited. A baby. Have they thought of any names yet? Please tell her that they’re not naming the kid Feather, or Storm, or some wacky thing with all consonants. He says, she’ll just have to wait and see, and she says, so everyone tells her. How’s Sasha doing? He says, the contractions are coming faster now. He hopes she’s not in labor long. Gladys asks if he has someplace to be, and he says, no, but it’s hard to wait, especially when he can’t do anything. She says, is he kidding? He’s done plenty already. Sasha needs to be alone; he’s leaving her alone. He’ll be right by her side when she needs him close, and when the baby does come, he’ll be right there, holding her hand. Just be careful. Sometimes, women squeeze so hard, they can break your hand. He says, it’ll be worth it, and she says, at least he’s in the hospital. No place better, right? He says, that’s one way to look at it, and she says she can always find the silver lining. She meant to ask him. He said the door of the back room at the gallery was wedged shut? He says, it was, and she says, like someone was locking them in there on purpose. He says, it was definitely put there on purpose. Whoever did it, probably thought there wasn’t anyone inside. She says, maybe, and he asks why anyone would want to lock her and Sasha inside? She says she has some ideas.

Olivia and Ned run to Leo, and help him up. Olivia asks, what happened? Talk to her. Ned examines Leo’s head, and says, no bump, and Leo repeats, no bump. Olivia asks what Leo was thinking, wandering away from the gallery all by himself? Dante and Brook join them, and Brook says, thank God. Dante asks if Leo is okay, and Ned says, he doesn’t appear to be injured. He was just lying on his stomach by the edge of the dock. Brook asks, what happened? and Ned says he doesn’t know. He asks Leo to look at him, and asks what Leo was doing down by the docks. Leo says, looking for an octopus, and Olivia says, in the dark by himself? He doesn’t have a jacket. Isn’t he cold? Leo says he likes it there, and Brook asks if he was trying to find an octopus like the one in the picture. Olivia says, he can’t just wander off by himself like that; it’s dangerous. They were all frantic about him. Can he see how scared she is?

Brando asks Sasha what the doctor said, and she tells him, she’s only two centimeters dilated, so it’s going to be a while. He sits, and says he’s just sorry he wasn’t there to help. Sasha says she’s glad he wasn’t stuck in there with them. They might have never gotten out. He hopes his mother didn’t make things worse, and she says, actually, Gladys was really helpful. He says, Gladys who? and Sasha says, Gladys kept her cool, and kept her calm. He says, will wonders never cease? Gladys comes in with a bunch of magazines, and says she brought them some distractions. They can catch up on celebrity dirt while waiting for the kid to arrive. Sasha thanks her, saying, it’s exactly what she needed. Gladys says, of course (🍷) it is. Now let’s get this show on the road. She’s ready to be the best grandma ever.

Nina says she noticed Willow wasn’t at the courthouse with Michael when she got extradited to Pennsylvania, and Willow says, she didn’t know. Nina asks if Willow would have gone along with him if she’d known, and Willow tells her, all she can say is, she understands Michael’s anger; his need to make Nina answer for what she did. Nina says, Michael has every right to be angry. If she were him, she’d have a hard time forgiving her too. Willow says, the way she sees it, the court will decide Nina’s punishment, and that’ll be that. Nina hopes she’s not causing any problems between Willow and Michael, and Willow says she isn’t. Whatever happens between her and Michael, has nothing to do with Nina. Nina says, of course (🍷). It’s just that she’s truly sorry if she caused them pain. Willow says, Nina kept her son’s grandfather from him, and lied to their faces about it. She’s not ready to hear Nina’s apology. Nina says she never intended to hurt anyone. She just wasn’t thinking about the children. She would never intentionally hurt a child. She just wasn’t thinking. Willow says, and now everyone is paying the price.

Ava says, good news. Leo’s been found, and he’s okay. Trina asks, where was he? and Ava says, down by the harbor. Trina says, he walked all the way there on his own? In the dark? Ava says, terrifying, isn’t it? There’s really nothing worse than thinking your child is in danger. She looks at Spencer.

Austin wonders if he can ask Maxie a question; it might be kind of sensitive. She says, that depends; what’s the question? He says, seeing Sasha come in to deliver a baby, did she think of Louise? More than she usually does? Maxie says, yeah. Seeing Sasha go into labor definitely brought back memories, but at least Sasha gets to have her baby in the hospital. She didn’t have that luxury with Louise. Or James. He says he has every faith Louise will be returned to her, and she says she misses Louise very much, but just wants her to be safe. He says he’s sorry. She has a very soft heart. She says, she didn’t used to. She’s not even sure she does now. What makes him say that? He says, for one thing, she seems to want everybody to get along, and she says, why bring more discord into a world that already has enough? He says, fair enough. He won’t be unkind to Gladys, but he won’t go out of his way to see her. She thinks that’s best for everyone, but he says he’ll have to take her word on that. Can he ask her another question? She says, how sensitive is this one? and he says, kinda sensitive. Before Sasha came in here, Maxie was saying that if he didn’t get along with Brook, somehow she’d be collateral damage. What does she mean by that?

Dante asks how Ned knew to look down at the docks, and Ned says he was doing some reading about children on the autism spectrum. Many of them are really attracted to water. First responders are taught to search the nearest body of water whenever a child with autism goes missing. Dante says, that’s true, and puts his arm around Olivia. He says he’s going to check on his little brother, and goes over to where Brook is sitting with Leo. Ned asks if Olivia is all right, but she says, no. She’s nowhere near all right. He tells her, he’s not saying Leo is definitely on the spectrum… and she says, they wouldn’t have known where to look for him. She starts to cry, and says she’s scared. He holds her, and says, he’s right here.

Gladys says, can you believe it? Two of he most beautiful, highest paid people in the world fighting over who gets more from the sale of their chateau. Brando tells Sasha to breathe, and she says she thinks she’s good. He asks if she’s sure, and she nods. Gladys says, that was a doozy. Distraction. They spotted him with his ex-wife. Brando tells her, Sasha’s tired, and Gladys says, and? He says he thinks Sasha needs some quiet, and the lightbulb comes on. Gladys says she’ll go grab a coffee or something. She’ll let them relax, but don’t worry; she’ll be back. Sasha says she wouldn’t have it any other way, and Brando closes the door, saying, she’s gone. Sasha says, thank God. She feels bad saying it, because Gladys was very helpful today… He says, but she’s his mom, and she says, exactly. He says, now that they’re finally alone, he can tell her. He read the email. She says he couldn’t stand the suspense, huh? He says he would have been thrilled either way, but now – he takes her hands – he can’t wait to meet their son.

Spencer tells Esme, what a great night, even if it was here. He’s so happy for Trina. Esme turns around, staring daggers at Trina, and says, her too. Can they go now? She really wants to be alone with him. She kisses him, and Trina sees.

Maxie tells Austen, she’s just looking out for her friend, and he says, she’s only a recent friend, right? She says, so? He’s only a recent friend, and she looked out for him with Chase. He says she told him once that she and Brook used to be enemies. What does she care if Brook gets some well-deserved payback? She says, please. She needs him to trust her when she asks him to just let this go. For her sake. He asks if she and Brook are in some kind of trouble.

Brook tells Leo, the next time he wants to see some marine life, she’ll just take him to the aquarium. Okay, little bro? They hear a siren, and Leo yells out, and covers his ears. Dante says, it’s just a police car, and Brook says, Leo’s been through a lot tonight. Olivia thanks Ned for being there for her tonight, and he says, always. She says she has to get Leo home. Is he coming? She holds out her hand, and he takes it. She says, they’ve got a lot to talk about.

Brando says, the contractions are getting closer together, and Sasha says, this is really happening. Is he ready? He says he’s ready, and kisses her hand.

Brook calls Gladys, and asks her to listen. Gladys says, Brook made a huge mistake. Her grandkid could have gotten hurt. Brook says she doesn’t know what Gladys talking about, but she needs to listen. She has an offer for Gladys. Gladys says, too little, too late, because Brook went too far. Whatever happens next, is on her. Brook says she doesn’t know what Gladys thinks she did, and Gladys hangs up.

Sonny says it’s really good to see Alexis. She says, it’s good to see him too. As for his respite in Nixon Falls, she hopes he doesn’t miss it too much. She tickles his stomach, and leaves.

Willow tells Wiley, time to go, and Nina thanks her for her compassion. Willow says, she just wants what’s best for Wiley, and Nina tells Wiley that she loves him so much. It was great to spend time with him and talk with him. She asks for a hug, and Wiley hugs her. Carly comes along and sees them.

Tomorrow, Willow says it isn’t someone’s decision to make (my guess: Carly), Sasha advises Brando against something, Maxie asks what Austin thinks she and Brook are up to, Carly asks what it’s going to take to keep Nina away from Wiley, and Jason is told, time’s up.

Winter House

I immediately got a headache with everyone yelling, wazzup? Paige told Andrea that Amanda said he wanted to stay a single guy, and he said he wanted to go home knowing he’d met a cool chick he wanted to see again. He wasn’t pulling out a ring after five days. In Paige’s interview, she said, she didn’t love that he wanted to leave being a single guy, but dating after knowing each other two weeks was crazy. I think she might have that backwards. I can see dating after two weeks, but not being exclusive. Andrea said he was old school, and wanted to get to know someone. He didn’t get why everyone wanted to make a big deal out of it. Kyle was passed out, and the girls threw Jenga blocks on him. Austen and Ciara, and Paige and Andrea all got in the same bed, and fell asleep, Andrea eventually tip-toeing out.

In Lindsay’s interview, she said, Jason was hot AF and could cook. He’d been there the whole time, and she’d been distracted by idiots. Kyle said his parents were joining them on the slopes, and in Amanda’s interview, she said she’d been a pro skier in her mind in middle school, and then forgot about it until she met Kyle. He came from a family skiers, and it was a lot of pressure. His grandmother had been in the 1940 Olympics, and his parents had met on a blind skiing date. Luke tapped a tree, and said he might as well, since he wasn’t going to be tapping anything else. They headed out to ski and snowboard, Jason saying he wanted radical it up. Those lifts scare TF out of me. Why don’t they have seatbelts? In Gabby’s interview, she said she’d been rejected, and we flashed back to her telling Luke that she wanted him inside her, and him sending her immediately to the friendzone. Seriously though, who says something like that ten minutes after meeting someone? She said she was resetting her mind. She was the Lone Ranger.

Kyle’s mom thought Amanda did fantastic; Kyle, not so much, since he fell at every turn. The girls went to have alcohol, while the dudes got more skiing in – real skiing, as they put it. In Paige’s interview, she wanted to be able to go back home saying, at least I didn’t sleep with him, in case things didn’t work out with Andrea. In Ciara’s interview, she claimed she never had feelings for anyone the way she did for Austen. She thought she could fall for him. In Jason’s interview, he said he was scared when he met Lindsay, but it was a treat. He loved a strong women. There was going to be no sleeping on this trip. Julia got flowers, chocolates, and a bear from her boyfriend, who missed her. No offense to him, but how cliché, and he’s 42. Come on. He can do better. In Craig’s interview, he said there were times he wished Natalie was there, but he was enjoying being by himself. He was in a weird headspace. When hasn’t Craig been in a weird headspace? And can we stop using the word headspace? Austen went to Ciara’s room, and covered the camera.

In Kyle’s interview, he said he partied a lot, but worked even more. He worked hard, so when he partied, it was going to be extreme. Ciara said she was a smitten kitten, and Austen brought her coffee in the morning. Andrea did the same for Paige. Viking hats were passed out, some with braids, and in Luke’s interview, he said, he grew up in Minnesota around a lot of Scandinavian people, and did a lot of outdoor winter activities. He wanted to get everyone outdoors in the elements. Kyle said, welcome to the first annual Nordic games. It wasn’t going to be easy, but it would be worth it. Luke led The Great Heathen Army team, and Jason led The Skull Crushers. It was no Squid Games, but actually kind of fun to watch them do things like log throwing and tug-of-war. To keep with the theme of adolescent idiocy, Ciara wore a bikini, and Gabby was also scantily clad. After the games, it was on to the hot tub.

Austen got a text, and was all, WTF? Then went off to his room, saying, leave me alone, to no one. Everyone got ready for what Kyle called a nice Viking dinner. Kyle danced, shirtless, in front of the mirror, singing, let’s work it, reminding me why I hate this show. Amanda wondered if Jason was for real, and told Julia that she wanted to make sure he was being genuine. Julia personally endorsed him, and in her interview, she said, it was hard to be without her boyfriend in a party house. Austen told Craig that someone had reached out to him, telling him that Madison had gone to the hospital. He unblocked her, and she’d texted him that she’d had a seizure while she was cooking, and Hudson called the ambulance. He asked if she was okay, and she said she was. He told Craig, WTF? His life was wonderful, and he’d met a great girl who was all about it. Craig said Madison had made Austen start doubting himself, and she was a bad person. I have to agree with that one. In Craig’s interview, he said, Madison’s biggest pleasure in life is putting Austen though hell, and we flashed back to that. He said, Austen was finally getting over her and moving on, but somehow this evil sorcerer will never let him go. Andrea joined them, and Austen said, Madison had texted, please tell me you haven’t moved on. Ciara knocked at the door, and Craig said, go away.

Ciara reported back, and Paige said she thought the boys were weird right now. Austen not coming in the hot tub gave her a weird feeling. Andrea said Austen had to move on, and Craig asked if Austen wanted to be a pawn. Austen wondered if he should say anything to Ciara, since he didn’t want to scare her off, but Craig said he couldn’t be honest about this. After the guys were done with their confab, Paige tried to pump Andrea for information, but he said he had no gossip. The conversation was all about how much Austen liked Ciara. In Andrea’s interview, he said, it wasn’t his secret to share. He respected the bro code. In Paige’s interview, she said she hated the whole male species, because they lie. The obligatory turkey legs were served, deep fried. They lifted the turkey legs in the air, and Craig said it was the best cooked meat he’d ever had in his life. Julia asked what Andrea’s intentions were with her girl, and Austen told her, shut up. That was the dumbest thing he ever heard in his life. All this did was put the focus on him, and Amanda asked Austen where it was going with Ciara. Austen got crazy pissed off, and Julia asked why he was mad. If Andrea and Paige were okay with it, why was he angry?

Kyle stood up, and said, nothing shouts Viking like a tri-colored carrot. Paige and Ciara talked in the kitchen, and Julia and Craig talked in the bathroom. Kyle told Jason that he crushed it. I’m always obsessed with the food on these reality shows, but the food is pretty much the only good thing on this show. Jason is impressive. I think he can do much better than Lindsay. Ciara said Austen was weirding her out, and he told her that he’d gotten out of something 4/5 months ago; it was haunting him. He was messed up from it, and wanted to be honest with her. She wondered why he was telling her now, and asked if something had set it off. Were he and his ex still in communication?

Next time, the finale 🎉 doing the limbo (never a good combination with drinking), Lindsay wants to kidnap Jason, Austen says he’s not in a place to be exclusive, Austen yells at Amanda while wearing a tutu and a giant earring (not a very effective costume for being taken seriously), and Julia says she’ll just be eating cheese while they all fight. You don’t think they’ll have a Holiday House, do you?

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Peter lies unconscious on a stair landing, blood pooling around his head, and the fake passports for him and Maxie next to him. Someone in scrubs runs down the stairs. They check his neck for a pulse.

Three hours earlier. Brook looks at a list and says, Maxie’s list of must have items. Let’s see if she has them all. Diapers, check; extra bedsheets, yes; receiving blanket – she doesn’t even know what it is, but she has it – bag of ice, thermometer, rubbing alcohol, yes. Duct tape… Duct tape? Maxie’s really going to have to explain that one. She reads, once you’ve assembled your supplies, you have everything you need for a happy, healthy home birth. Everything except a mommy. Where are you, Maxie?

Austin tells Maxie, she’s here, and she’s beautiful. Maxie asks if he can hold the baby up so she can see her. He looks concerned, and reaches into his bag for a towel. Maxie says, Austin? What’s wrong? Why isn’t she crying? He rubs the wrapped bundle in his arms, and says, please. He said hi; can she say hi back? Louise starts to cry, and Maxie says, thank God. It’s the best sound she’s ever heard. I understood this because when my dog’s puppies were born, I freaked because she looked like she was tossing one around like a football, but my husband said she was just trying to get the baby started. And she did. Six of them. They’re 14 now.

Finn looks through his microscope, when Elizabeth comes in. She tells him that he needs to take a break. Go home and get some rest. He says he can’t stop until he finds an antidote for the toxin. If they were doing this properly, there would be dozens of people working around the clock. Instead, it’s just him. What if he’s not capable of solving this in time to save Chase? Elizabeth says she watched him cure Hayden when she was exposed to Blackwood’s. He managed to save her sister. He’ll do it again; she has faith in him. He appreciates the vote of confidence, but says, it’s going to take a lot more than faith. Anna comes to the door, and says she came straight from the airport. She hopes she’s not too late.

Willow brings Chase into the mansion, and tells him to sit down and rest. She thinks he’s pushing himself too hard too fast. He says, not at all. The fresh air did more for him than all the doctors and nurses at GH. She tells him not to let Finn hear him say that, and he says he knows Finn is working overtime to find out what’s wrong with him. He just wishes Finn would be honest with him about what he actually has, or how he got it. He sways a little, and Willow says she’s got him. Michael comes in, and asks if Chase is okay. Chase looks at Willow, and says, never better.

At the Savoy, Curtis is on the phone finding out the status of his liquor license. He asks if they can expedite it. Not just for his benefit, but for the benefit of his hard-working staff who would like to get to work… Good. He turns around to see Portia, and says he’s pushy and impatient, but she says, not at all. He’s the owner of what’s going to be the swankiest, sexiest hot-spot this town has ever seen. He says, okay. For that, can he offer the lady a drink? She says she could definitely use a drink. She just got a glimpse of the dangerous world he left behind.

Sasha comes out of the hospital elevator, accompanied by a bodyguard. Brando comes over to her, and asks what she’s doing there. He thought Carly had her in a safe place. She says, see this guy? Her very own personal bodyguard, courtesy of Carly. As soon as she heard about the shooting at the warehouse, she knew she had to come. Was he involved? He says he was, but he’s fine. His mother was shot, and is in surgery right now. She says, Gladys was shot? Why? Jordan has joined them, along with Dante, and she says, that’s a good question. She and Dante would also like to hear his answer. Dante says why doesn’t he just tell them were his boss Cyrus is?

Carly tells Cyrus, no! and Cyrus says, this was her big plan? To set up an ambush with this fool? She says she doesn’t know why Nikolas is there, but they had a deal. Cyrus says, she blew the deal. He and her friend are leaving, and she’ll be seeing Spinelli again in pieces. She says he’s not taking Spinelli anywhere, but Cyrus tells his guys to put Spinelli back in the truck. Jason magically appears, aiming his gun at Cyrus, and says, let Spinelli go, or he drops Cyrus.

On the phone, Brook tells Maxie, she’s at the house in Beecher’s Corners, but she hasn’t heard from Maxie since she left for the spa. Was she able to ditch her private nurse, and is Bobbie going to meet them? Call her on the burner.

Austin hands baby Louise to Maxie, who says, hi. She tells Louise that she looks perfect in every way. She has no idea how happy Maxie is to be holding her in her arms, and to count her ten little fingers, and ten little toes. She says she doesn’t even know how to thank Austin, and he says, she just did. She says, here she is, stumbling through the woods, and she runs into a doctor, looking like a half-naked mountain man. Austin laughs, and says he’s so glad she did. Now that he has a minute, he’s going to try and get some cell service. He wants to call an ambulance. She says Austin can’t do that. Peter might find them.

Elizabeth offers to leave, but Finn says she can stay. He tells Anna that Elizabeth knows everything. She knows that Peter was responsible for the toxin that was intended for him, but wound up in Chase. Elizabeth says, it all comes back to Peter, doesn’t it? If only people hadn’t covered for him. If only he hadn’t been coddled so much, Chase’s life wouldn’t be hanging by a thread, Jason wouldn’t be on the run, and Franco would still be alive. Anna says she’s not going to try to justify or explain any of her past actions. Quite frankly, it’s too late for that. What she does want to do is urge them to act fast. Valentin believes Peter is planning on leaving Port Charles. Finn says, and the drug that’s keeping Chase alive will be leaving with him. Anna reaches in her bag, and pulls out a folder. She says she’s hoping her trip to Ireland can help him in some way. She hands the folder to Finn, and says, consider this a gift from the late, great Sean Donely.

Willow says Chase needs to sit down and rest, and brings him into the living room. He sits, and she says she’s going to the kitchen to get him something to eat. Michael says she’s right; Chase needs to keep up his strength. Chase says he still can’t believe he lives in a mansion with actual staff, and Willow says, it can be intimidating; there are so many rooms. She was lost at first, but eventually found her way. She looks at Michael, who says he’ll help her find something to eat, and Chase says he could go for something simple, like pizza. It will make him feel normal again. Michael says Chase is in luck, because their kitchen has a pizza oven. He and Willow leave, and Michael closes the door behind them. In the foyer, Willow says, having Chase there is going to be harder than she thought, but until he’s out of the woods… Michael says they have to help and support Chase until he gets well. They head for the kitchen, and in the living room, Chase tries to get up, but falls back down on the couch. He says, just relax; you’re not dizzy.

Curtis says, while he pours this drink, Portia can tell him about her brush with violence, unless she’d rather not. She says she thinks talking about it might actually help him. He knows Brando, right? He says, Sonny’s cousin, Cyrus’s driver. She says she doesn’t think he’s going to be Cyrus’s driver anymore; not after tonight. He asks, what happened? and she says, Brando’s mother was shot in some sort of gangland battle. Brando couldn’t wait for the ambulance, so he carried her, bleeding, into General Hospital. Portia was the attending, and she rushed Gladys into a cubicle, and got her into the OR. One of their best surgeons was on duty, and she’s operating as they speak. He says, and she reported all this to the cops? She says, it’s the law. He’s not the only one who thought he moved on. When she divorced Taggert, she thought she was done with that world, but it doesn’t matter. It seems like no matter what she does, it follows her wherever she goes. He takes her hand, and says, it seems it does.

Brando says he doesn’t work for Cyrus anymore, and Jordan asks when he offered Cyrus his resignation. Sasha tells Brando, he doesn’t have to say anything without a lawyer present, and Jordan says, she’s right. They can go down to the station, and he can answer all of their questions there. Brando says he’s not going anywhere until his mother is out of surgery, and Jordan says she’s sorry his mother was injured, so please, try to help her understand. There was a shootout at a warehouse a few hours ago. Two known associates of the Renault organization were killed. Sasha says, none of that proves Brando was involved, but Brando tells her, it’s okay. She’s not involved in any part of this. She says, too late. That train has left the station. Jordan asks Brando how Gladys managed to get caught in the crossfire, and he says, Cyrus abducted her. He didn’t want her to recant her statement saying Jason ditched the gun that killed Franco. He asked Brando to pick up a package, and deliver it to the warehouse. His mother was already there. Cyrus was planning to kill them both. Jordan asks what Brando did to get Cyrus to turn on him, and Sasha says, that would be where she comes in.

Cyrus says he thinks he’ll keep Spinelli, as a guarantee he gets out of there alive. Two of Cyrus’s men draw their guns on Jason, but Jason shoots them both. In the confusion, Spinelli runs away from Cyrus, and over to the other side of the pier. Cyrus draws his gun, and there’s a bunch of shooting. Jason gets Cyrus in the shoulder, and Cyrus runs. Jason shoots one of Cyrus’s guys, tells Carly, stay down, and goes after Cyrus. A couple of Carly’s men follow him.

Jason comes back, and Nikolas says, Cyrus got away? Jason says, looks like it. Carly hugs Jason, and he tells her that when he said stay down, he meant until it was safe. She says it looks safe to her.

Jordan says Sasha is the reason Cyrus turned on Brando? Why? Sasha says, Cyrus once had a romantic interest in her, which she didn’t return. When he found out she got pregnant by his driver, let’s just say Cyrus’s fragile ego got bruised. Cyrus isn’t a good loser. Brando says, then Cyrus gave him a loyalty test; either kill his own mother, or Sasha would suffer. Sasha looks at him, and he says, that’s when all hell broke loose. Shots were fired, he tried to protect his mom, and in the craziness of it all, Cyrus got away. That’s when he realized his mom got hit, and he rushed her there. Sasha says, they can see how worried Brando is, right? Can this be enough for now? Dante says, for now, yeah. He does hope Brando’s mother makes a full recovery. Brando thanks them, and he and Sasha go to the waiting area and sit. Dante tells Jordan, if Gladys admits she lied about Jason, and that Cyrus paid her, they have her on perjury and obstruction… She says, the DA is way ahead of him. Robert and Diane are in the process of hammering out a deal for Gladys in exchange for her testimony. That’s when they got word about the shooting at the warehouse. He says, so Gladys is a target. As long as Cyrus is running around free, they have to protect her. She says she’ll make sure Gladys is guarded when she’s in recovery. In the meantime, based on Brando’s statement, she has more than enough to make an arrest. She’s putting out an APB on Cyrus.

Curtis says he got distracted from the drink he promised Portia, and she says she didn’t just stop by for some good conversation. She wanted to find out if she could book his club for a private party. He wonders if it’s a fundraiser, but she says, no; a graduation party for Trina and her friends. This year has been traumatic, so full of loss and grief, she wanted to do something special and positive for them. He says he likes the sound of that. If it works out, they can use it as a soft opening for The Savoy, before the official opening. He pours them both drinks, and says, it’s kind of fitting that she’s his first customer. Remember when he brought her there on her very first stakeout? She was all for him buying this place. She says, this place looks good on him. She could tell that very first night. He says he likes to think of himself as an optimist. He’s not going to remember last year as the year his life fell apart. Instead, he’ll think of it as the year his good friend stuck by him. It meant a lot to him. They clink glasses.

Willow tells Michael that she thinks Olivia is on to something. Making that pizza was fun, and in an actual pizza oven. She’s never done that before. He says he loved making it with her. Now he’s going to explain to Chase that he gets the rare privilege of eating it in the kitchen. Since his grandmother told the staff to do everything to help Chase, they’re going to take full advantage. She says she doesn’t think having Chase there is going to work, and he says, is she kidding him? They have Valentin there, Charlotte, Brook, the baby is going to be there soon… She says, that’s not what she’s talking about, and he knows it. He’s putting his life on hold. He says, so is she. She and Wiley are his life. If they have to wait until Chase is back on his feet, that’s worth any sacrifice. Chase comes out of the living room, and says he heard them talking just now.

Anna tells Finn, she studied the file all the way back from Ireland, and there are detailed notes in there; formulas. It might not be the exact toxin that poisoned Chase, but possibly they’re related in some way. Elizabeth says if Finn needs her, she’ll be down the hall. She leaves, and Anna says she understands if Finn didn’t want to say anything in front of Elizabeth, but he has to be honest with her. Does he think there’s anything in Sean’s file that could help Chase?

Austin asks Maxie, who is this guy Peter, who she’s so frightened of? Should he be calling the police, or an ambulance? She says, no. She just has to get to Beecher’s Corners. He asks, why Beecher’s Corners? and she says, because someone is waiting there for her, and it’s the only place she and her baby will be safe. He says, awesome. She just had a baby, in the forest, with zero medical supplies, and he thinks it’s important for her welfare to go to the hospital, and the baby’s as well. She says, there’s no time. Please, just take them to Beecher’s Corners. He says he’ll take her wherever she wants, after they swing by the hospital. So he’s going to call an ambulance. He drops to the ground, and Chloe stands behind him with the fireplace poker. She says, Maxie didn’t really think this was over, did she?

Brook takes the fake belly off, and says, when Maxie gets there, after all of her hard work, they’re going to party like it’s 2019, and she’s going to present Maxie’s little girl to Valentin. He’ll love her, and keep her safe, and make sure that lying worm Peter never gets his hands on her.

Maxie says, stay away from us, but Chloe says she doesn’t think Maxie is in any position to be giving orders. Maxie says, what if she killed Austin? and Chloe says, what if she did? He’s expendable. Maxie and her baby are coming back with her to the house. Maxie asks if Peter sent Chloe after them, but Chloe says, does Maxie think she’s going to tell Peter she got away? No way. Maxie says, so he doesn’t know she had the baby, and Chloe says, as soon as she can get cell service he will. Let’s go. Maxie says she just had a baby in the woods. She doesn’t know how Chloe can expect her to… Chloe says she just heard Maxie tell her friend that she had to get to Beecher’s Corners. If Maxie is strong enough for that, she’s strong enough to walk back to the cabin. She’s not asking Maxie again. Maxie says, he’s coming to, and Chloe turns around to look at Austin. Maxie kicks her in the back of the leg, and Chloe drops to the ground. Maxie struggles to her feet, holding her precious bundle, and moves as fast as she can. Chloe says Maxie will pay for that.

Finn tells Anna, maybe something in the file will lead him to creating an antidote, or maybe it will just be another dead end. But if Peter is really leaving town, he doesn’t have time to talk about it. She says she hopes it does some good, and starts to leave, but Finn calls to her. She turns, and he says, thank you. He knows it wasn’t easy to get; he appreciates it. She says it’s the least she can do.

Chase says, that part about getting back on his feet is worth any sacrifice? If he ever doubted Michael’s friendship, he feels foolish for doubting it. He was just so eager to get out of the hospital, it didn’t occur to him what it would cost Michael. The time, the trouble… Michael says, it’s no trouble at all. Chase’s pizza is ready for him to eat in the kitchen. Chase says, nice dodge, but he’s trying to thank Michael. He promises when he’s better, and gets back to his place, he and Willow will never impose on Michael again. Willow says, his pizza is waiting, and when he’s done, he needs to go to bed and get a good night’s sleep. Chase says he’s actually not that hungry now. He weaves a little, and Willow says they have to get him to his room. Chase says he’s fine, but starts to crumple, and Michael catches him before he hits the floor.

Brando tells Sasha that she doesn’t have to stay, but she says she wants to… unless he’d rather be alone. He says he’s glad she’s there.

Jordan says, it’s vital that they get Gladys’s statement on the record, and Dante says, she’s got to make it through surgery first. Jordan’s phone dings, and she tells Dante, there’s been gunfire on the waterfront. Pier 55. Looks like what happened at the warehouse was just the beginning.

Jason asks if Spinelli is okay, and Spinelli says he’s unharmed. Jason? Jason says he’s fine, and Spinelli says his deepest apologies for being taken hostage. He should have been more aware. Carly says she’s just glad he’s okay. Ava runs to Nikolas and hugs him, saying, she heard Cyrus’s men had him. He says, they did, but everything’s going to be okay now. One of Cyrus’s guys starts to come to, and notices his gun next to him. Carly asks what Nikolas was thinking. He ruined everything when he showed up; that was not part of the plan. Cyrus’s guy reaches for his gun. Apparently, Jason isn’t quite as good as he thinks, since even I know it’s a good idea to make sure they’re dead, or at least not leave a gun near them. Hasn’t he ever seen a thriller? Nikolas says he’s not going to apologize. He wasn’t going to stand by and let anything happen to Ava. Ava says he’s infuriating… her hero. She hugs him again, and Carly rolls her eyes. Cyrus’s guy grabs his gun, and Ava thanks Nikolas for wanting to protect her, but she could strangle him for putting himself in danger. He says, she was the one who volunteered to stand in for Gladys as a hostage. She says she was completely safe. She was in a bulletproof car… She thinks it was bulletproof. Carly says she appreciates Ava standing in as a decoy, but Nikolas almost got them killed, so could she get him out of there? Please. Cyrus’s guy lifts his gun to shoot, but gets shot himself. By Dante, who comes onto the scene and sees Jason.

Brando says, it’s good Carly got Sasha a bodyguard to shadow her, and Sasha says, you can never be too careful, right? Brando says, no. Cyrus has always been a dangerous man, and now that the cops have a reason to arrest him, he’ll be even more dangerous. She says she and Cyrus went out a couple of times (they think we have short term memory loss), then he gave her some of his latest product, which nearly killed her. It’s ridiculous how possessive Cyrus feels about her. Brando tells her, he wouldn’t say it was rational, but it’s a fact. He failed Cyrus’s loyalty test, and even worse, he, Cyrus’s lowly driver, got the woman Cyrus was interested in, pregnant. He’s just trying to keep her and their baby safe. She says she appreciates that, but she’s not going to be intimidated by Cyrus. He does not get to dictate how she lives her life, and the way she sees it – she takes his hands – they’re in this together.   

Portia says she can’t wait for the club to open, and Curtis says he’s really excited about this newest chapter in his life. She says, when she left the hospital tonight, she was in a really dark place. All she could think about was how close she came to losing Trina, to the same senseless violence that gunned down Gladys. If not for Curtis that night, she honestly doesn’t know…  He says he didn’t do anything superhuman or heroic. He just reacted in the moment. She says she doesn’t think he’s giving himself enough credit. Most people run away from danger; he runs toward it. He says, Cameron and Trina were caught in a situation they had no idea how to deal with. He had no choice; he had to protect them. But you know what’s even more exciting? Flash forward one year. He’s even more excited about running a venue where those teenagers can celebrate graduating from high school. She says, either way, it seems like he’s always there for Trina when she needs him. And if she’s being honest, she needs him too. She leans forward, and kisses him.

Michael and Willow bring Chase into the hospital. Finn sees them, and says, wheelchair please. Chase says he told them that they didn’t need to come there. Elizabeth brings the chair and says, they’re just being cautious. She wheels him away, and he says he’s fine. Finn hands Anna the file, and asks her to hold onto it for him. He’ll let her know when he needs it. Willow watches.

Maxie goes as fast as she can through the forest, with Chloe following, limping as fast as she can, and laughing because she’s batsh*t crazy. She says, Maxie will never get away from her. Maxie says she’s doing this for Louise. She comes across a wood pallet, covering a hole that’s quite a drop. Maxie moves some rocks to the edge of it. Chloe catches up, and says she knew Maxie couldn’t get away from her. It’s over. They’re going to do this Peter’s way. Stop making this so difficult, and come with her.

Dante motions the other cops to come forward, and tells Jason to hand over his weapon, nice and slow. He takes Jason’s gun with a handkerchief, and gives it to an officer. He tells the cop to run ballistics on it, and the casualties. See how many came from the gun. Carly says, it was self-defense, and Dante says, secure the area. Get a paramedic down here, and tape off the crime scene. He tells Carly, there have been two shootings tonight; first at the warehouse, and now at the docks. She says, Cyrus is behind them both, and Jason says, he’s already run off, coward that he is. Spinelli says, Cyrus was shot too, so his trail should be easy to follow. Dante says, Cyrus escaped? It looks like Jason might be losing his touch. Ava says, Cyrus threatened her daughter. She needs to go and be with her. Nikolas says, if Dante wants statements from him and his wife, contact their lawyer. Of course (🍷) they’ll give their full cooperation. They leave, and Spinelli says they’ll take their leave too, so Dante can get to his good work. Dante says, Spinelli and Carly can go, but not Jason.

Jordan says she wants to talk to Brando. More shots were fired at Pier 55. It appears that Cyrus has been wounded and is on the run. Sasha asks if this could be true. Is Cyrus finally finished? Brando says he wouldn’t count Cyrus out. Not until he’s six-feet under. He says Jordan still needs his mother to change her statement, right? and Jordan says she does. Unfortunately, if his mother dies, the rest of the case against Cyrus could fall apart.

Portia tells Curtis, she’s sorry. Did she misread things, or… Oh wow. She guesses she did misread things. She’s sorry. She hasn’t eaten, and she’s drinking, and her judgement is off. She’s sorry. He says, she had one cocktail, and didn’t misread anything. He gave her mixed messages. Maybe it’s because he signed the divorce papers. She says she’d better get going, but he says he doesn’t want to leave things like this. She says she’ll get back to him about Trina’s party, and can’t get out of there fast enough.

Finn and Elizabeth get Chase into a bed, and Chase says he’s just a little dizzy; it’s nothing. He wants to go home… wherever that is. Elizabeth says, his blood pressure’s dropping again, and Chase starts to nod out.

Willow asks Michael what he thinks is in the file Anna is reading. He says he doesn’t know, but she’s treating it like the Holy Grail. She says, that’s what Chase needs now – a miracle. Anna looks through the papers in the folder.

Chloe limps toward Maxie, using the poker as a cane, and says, face it. Maxie doesn’t have the strength to outrun her. If she truly cares about that baby, she’ll hand the baby over, go to the cabin, and wait for Peter to come. Maxie says, never. She guesses Chloe doesn’t have any children. Chloe says she doesn’t, not that it’s any business of Maxie’s. Maxie says, if Chloe had children, she’d know that a mother will do anything to protect her child. Chloe is going to have to pry this baby out of her cold, dead hand. Chloe laughs and says that’s fine with her, if Maxie wants to play it that way. Peter can always find another mommy. She might even volunteer for the job herself. Maxie asks if that’s why Chloe is doing this, and starts to back away. Chloe says, stop. She wants that baby. She moves forward, and falls through the wood into the hole.

Maxie peeks into the hole, then picks up Chloe’s phone. She wonders what Brook’s burner number is, and says she knows this. She dials.

Brook lies on the bed, napping, when her phone rings. She says, who’s this? and Maxie says, stop talking; it’s Maxie. Brook asks whose phone Maxie is calling from. Is she okay? Maxie says, no. Please listen to her; there’s no time to explain. She had the baby. The baby is healthy and okay, but she’s in the middle of nowhere. She’s going to send Brook a PIN. She needs Brook to come pick them up. Brook says, none of this is making any sense to her, but Maxie says, please, just come get them. Maxie hangs up, and peeks over the edge again.

Finn tells Anna that he needs her help. Chase needs another dose of the antidote. Go find Peter. She says she’s on it, and leaves. Elizabeth tells Finn that she needs him, and he goes toward Chase’s room, but Willow says, stop. She’s been watching him and Anna; all these looks and coded phrases. Chase believes Finn hasn’t been honest about his condition, so what is Finn keeping from him?

Brando tells Sasha, he’s spent so much time complaining about his mom. She’s too pushy, she’s too blunt, she’s never too shy about putting her two cents in about anything, even when it’s not warranted. He was always thinking negative thoughts about her, never asking himself how he’d feel if he lost her. The truth is, he’d be a little lost. She shaped his life, for better or worse. Sasha says, that’s really lovely. When she’s out of surgery and recovering, make sure he tells her that.

The doctor comes out, and Jordan says she needs to call someone back. Brando gets up, and asks, how’s his mom? The doctor looks serious.

Carly says Dante does realize, none of them would be alive if Jason hadn’t come back. Spinelli says, Cyrus took him hostage, and threatened to dismember him unless Carly met his demands. Dante says he can’t wait to read all about it in their statements. Carly says, instead of wasting time, he should be going after Cyrus; he’s the threat. Jason hasn’t even resisted. Dante says he has an APB out for Cyrus. They’re going to find him. Right now, they both know he has a job to do. Jason says, then do it. Carly starts to protest, but Jason stops her. She says she’ll call Diane. Dante tells Jason that he’s under arrest, and puts handcuffs on Jason, as he reads him his rights.

Outside of Portia’s house, she wonders what she was thinking. She puts the key in the lock, and realizes her door is unlocked. She slowly goes inside, and sees a trail of bloodspots on the floor. She bends down to examine them, and the door closes behind her. She turns to see Cyrus, gun in hand, bloody and disheveled, his ponytail undone. He says, welcome home, Dr. Robinson.

Next week (I think Tuesday), Maxie has a lot to tell Brook, Brando wonders when he can see Gladys, Cyrus says if Portia plays it smart they’ll all walk away alive, and Peter asks if that isn’t why Anna is really there.

👍🏽 Just a thought. Besides never going to crime scene number two, a good rule of thumb is, if you find your door is open, don’t go inside. Get someone, call a cop, call Jason Momoa, but don’t go inside.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Going on three days now, I missed the beginning – why break a streak? – but here are the highlights. Molly and TJ showed up at court, and Alexis pleaded guilty. Jordan explained to Curtis why Taggert was staying with her, and told Taggert that he had Curtis to thank for Trina forgiving him. Jordan left to take a call, leaving Taggert and Curtis probably feeling awkward. Carly left Anna’s to get the plan in motion, and Robert came by. Anna told him that Jason was innocent, and Peter had killed Franco. Peter saw Valentin at the MetroCourt, and said, nyah-nyah, Maxie was giving him another chance. Valentin said he was sick of hearing Peter play the victim. Britt went over to Maxie’s place, and checked Maxie’s blood pressure. It was elevated, and Maxie said she was worried about Peter coming back. Britt said her father never took no for an answer, and Peter was more like Faison every day. It was obsession, not love. Maxie said the baby would have to disappear. Finally, I sat down…

Judge Carson asks if Alexis understands the ramifications of pleading guilty, and Alexis says she does. The judge asks if the prosecution has any objections, and the prosecutor says, none. She says Alexis’s request is granted, and asks if the victim is present. Dante says he is, and she says she’s reviewed his statement regarding January 28th, but written statements can sometimes be misleading. She’d like to hear his testimony before she pronounces sentencing.

Taggert says he wants to let Curtis know, there’s absolutely nothing going on, but Curtis says Taggert doesn’t need to tell him that. Taggert says he knows he made things hard when he came back, making Jordan keep his survival a secret. He saw the toll it put on Curtis and his marriage, and he’s sorry. He didn’t mean come between Curtis and Jordan. Curtis says, he didn’t. The problem is strictly between him and Jordan. Taggert says he still regrets putting pressure on Jordan. A partner, even a former partner, should help, and not complicate the other partner’s life. Curtis says, it’s just a hazard of the job. It doesn’t stop when you go home and take the badge off. Taggert says, it seeps into everything you do, and Curtis says, and those you care about. Taggert says he never met a more dedicated cop than Jordan, and Curtis says, Jordan is all about justice. It’s what she was born to do.

Robert says, Peter killed Franco, and framed Jason, and Anna says, Jason is a professional. If he’d wanted to kill Franco, he would have done it years ago, and without a trace. Jason isn’t going to dump the weapon down a garbage shoot in the same building as the murder. Peter did, and wiped it clean, thinking that’s all he needs to do. He’s been extraordinarily lucky. That’s what’s going to trip him up. He’s going to confuse luck with being good. Robert says she’s convinced him.

Valentin says the life Peter is proud of isn’t real; it was built on lies. Hurting people won’t change that. He did the right thing, and told Maxie the truth. Peter says, now Valentin cares so much about doing the right thing? and Valentin says, better late than never. When Peter’s cell door closes, will he still be looking around for Maxie? Peter says, the WSB has no proof; he won’t be arrested, and that’s the truth. Valentin says he claims to love Maxie, but he won’t confess. He needs to take responsibility. Peter says, by going to prison? and Valentin says, that may be the only way. Be the father his child deserves. Peter tells Valentin to stay out of his life and his way, or he’ll live to regret it. Carly watches.

Carly goes over to Gladys’s table, and asks what the hell she thinks she’s doing. Gladys says she has a right to be there. She’s even ordering Carly’s overpriced coffee. Carly says she’s not talking about that. Why did Gladys lie about Jason? Gladys says she didn’t, and Carly says, save it. Gladys is a spiteful bottom feeder, and will be doing eight to ten for obstruction of justice when Carly is done.  

Britt says, the baby is going to disappear? and Maxie says, the baby can’t be anywhere Peter can find her. He has to think she’s gone. Britt asks what that will entail. Is Maxie going to hide out? Maxie says she’ll send word to Peter that the baby died in childbirth, but Britt says he won’t believe her. She can try to run, but he’ll find her. If she tries to keep the baby from him, he’ll come at her harder. She’ll never be free. Obsession runs in the family. Be careful. Maxie says, that’s why she’s turned this over and over in her mind. She knows what she needs to do. Peter has to believe the baby is stillborn.

Dante tells the judge, he was on the first floor of GH when he witnessed an altercation between Franco and Sam. Elizabeth was also there. There were raised voices and Franco seemed to reach out to grab Sam. Judge Carson asks if Franco was  threatening herm but Dante says he doesn’t know; it was chaotic. But Alexis is Sam’s mother, and she came out of an examining room with a syringe. She was headed for Franco, and he got in between them, intercepting Alexis. That’s when she got him in the chest. The judge asks if Dante believes Alexis intended to assault him, and he says, no. Alexis wasn’t in her right mind. She was drinking and her judgment was impaired. You could say she chose to drink, but Alexis is an alcoholic and has a disease. Dante believes people struggling with substance abuse and mental illness should he helped, not punished, and hopes the court agrees, and shows leniency. He forgives Alexis and she’s definitely not a threat to society. Judge Carson thanks him, and says, you may step down. She asks if Alexis has an elocution, and Alexis gets up. She says she does.  

Gladys asks what Carly’s problem is. Does she want to cause a scene? Carly says she doesn’t care if everyone hears her. Gladys is a liar who will do anything for money. It makes her an unreliable witness, and Carly is going to find out why Gladys falsely accused Jason. Gladys says she did her civic duty, and reported suspicious activity to the cops. Carly says, no wonder Brando went to work for Cyrus. He has no use for her either. She’s a fraud and a cheat. Valentin comes over, and says, that’s enough. Peter watches.

Alexis thanks Dante for his incredibly thoughtful and generous support of her. His forgiveness means more than he’ll ever know. She’d like to says she’s sorry, deeply sorry, for what she’s done, and wants to make amends. She may have lost the ability to practice law, but she hasn’t lost her respect for it. She committed a crime, and she’s willing to accept punishment. Most important, she loves her family, and doesn’t want to hurt them anymore. She doesn’t want to hurt anyone anymore. She thanks Judge Carson for giving her a chance to speak, and the judge says, the court is ready to proceed with sentencing. She’ll take a short break, and return with the sentence. The bailiff says, all rise, and the judge leaves. Alexis says she didn’t mean to undercut Diane; she knows how Diane hates that. Diane says Alexis did great. She’s still a helluva lawyer. Alexis says she meant every word. It’s in the judge’s hands now.

Robert tells Anna, Peter thought Franco knew something connecting him to Drew’s kidnapping, which gives him a motive. Anna says, someone saw Jason ditch the gun, but they’re lying. He asks if she can prove it, and she says, she, Carly, and Valentin have a plan. As they speak, Carly is publicly accusing Gladys about lying about seeing Jason dump the gun. He says, that’s her plan? To shame Gladys? It won’t work. Anna says, it will. Valentin will step in and defend Gladys. He’ll intervene, and Gladys will be smitten with her knight in tarnished armor. That’s the first step. He says he’s confused. How many steps are there? Jason’s arraignment is tomorrow. She asks if he can get it postponed, and he says, he’s the DA. Tell him what he can do. Right now, the tide is against Jason. She has to come with hard evidence against Peter before it’s too late. She says, too late for what? and he says there isn’t just one plan to handle Peter. Maxie is working on one of her own. Anna says, bloody hell.

Britt asks if Maxie isn’t being too reminiscent of Nelle. Does she really want to emulate a psychopath? Maxie says she’s not doing it to punish Peter, like Nelle did to Michael. She’s doing it to protect herself, the baby, and James. Britt asks how it’s going to work. Nelle delivered Wiley in the woods, and she’s lucky he survived the trauma. Maxie isn’t thinking holing up in a cabin, is she? Maxie says, no way. She delivered James by the side of the road, and isn’t risking that again. She’s giving birth in a hospital. Britt says, good. How does she plan to convince Peter the baby didn’t make it? Maxie says, that’s where Britt comes in.

Valentin asks if Carly has a problem with this nice lady, but Carly says Gladys is no lady; she’s a liar. She’s angry that Sonny favored Jason over Brando. Valentin asks if she thinks Gladys accused her out of spite to get back at her expired husband, and Gladys says she was only doing her civic duty. Valentin agrees, saying since Jason slithered back into town, he’s put all their lives in danger. Carly tells them to get out of her restaurant. They head for the elevator, and Carly tells Peter, he’s next.

Gladys says she takes it that Valentin isn’t a fan of the widow Corinthos, and he says, she’s a dreadful woman. He introduces himself, and Gladys does the same. He says, it’s great to meet her, and hopes she’s all right. Carly was completely out of line. The whole thing was upsetting. Whenever he deals with Carly, he needs a good stiff drink, but not at the MetroCourt. He knows the perfect place. Would she like to join him? She says, you bet, and he says, wonderful.

Robert tells Anna that Peter was standing his ground and refusing to leave, and she asks how he got Peter to go. He says Maxie appealed to the child’s welfare, and talked about how caring Peter was. He left under his own power. She says, good move, and Robert says, Maxie is playing a dangerous game, keeping Peter at arm’s length while pretending to be friends. She can’t get a restraining order for fear of inciting him. Anna says, unfortunately, Maxie is right. How many abusive husbands ignore the orders, and it leads to tragic results? At least Maxie is thinking clearly, but she’d like to know Maxie’s plan. Robert says, him too. He wishes she’d tell him.  

Britt tells Maxie, she moved heaven and earth to get her license back. She can’t risk it. Not only is the plan distasteful; it’s impractical. Maxie asks if Britt isn’t sympathetic to her child’s dilemma; they’re talking about her niece. Britt says, of course (🍷) she wants to keep the baby safe, but Peter doesn’t trust her. If she comes out with tears in her eyes, saying the baby didn’t make it, he won’t buy it. Paranoia doesn’t begin to describe his mindset. There’s no scenario where he won’t be suspicious. Maxie says both she and Britt have done worse. She has every confidence they can handle this.

Curtis says, they’re still going after Cyrus? and Taggert says, until he’s behind bars or in the ground. He’s seen Curtis in action, and he’s good. It could be what they need to stop Cyrus, especially with Sonny out of the picture. What does Curtis say? Curtis says, no. He’s not about that life anymore.

Sam says she’s so proud of Alexis, and Molly says, Alexis was honest and brave. Alexis says, don’t give her the credit, and Sam says she doesn’t need prison to get sober, but Alexis says, it’s a constant struggle. Molly says Alexis is strong enough to handle it, and Alexis thanks Dante for his kind words. Sam thanks him too, and he says he was just being honest. Diane says she’s sure it helped, and the judge will consider it. Molly says she hopes it’s enough to get Alexis a suspended sentence, and Diane says, that’s the dream scenario. Molly asks if Diane thinks the judge will be harsh, but Diane says she doesn’t know. The judge is all over the map with sentencing. Sometimes she throws the book, sometimes she’s lenient. Alexis says, she likes people who take responsibility, and she did in all sincerity. Whatever sentence is rendered, she’ll be okay. The bailiff says, all rise.

Taggert says he heard Curtis bought a nightclub, and Curtis says he did. Taggert says, for real? No more P.I. work? Curtis says, no, and Taggert says, wow. Okay, good luck. Taggert’s phone dings, and he says, the food is in the lobby. He’ll go get it. He leaves, and Jordan says she’s sorry there are so many interruptions. Curtis says, no worries, and she says she’s glad he came by.  

Judge Carson says Alexis has been before her as a lawyer, and giving her impromptu summation showed integrity. She knows about alcoholism, and knows it’s an illness. She commends Alexis for not hiding behind her disease. She’s before the judge on two charges, but the intended victim wasn’t injured. She’s dismissing the attempted murder charge, but there’s still the matter of the assault on Dante.  

Carly says Peter’s smear campaign to convict Jason before he goes to court isn’t journalism; it’s tabloid trash. He says his readers are fascinated with the enforcer of the late mob kingpin. His metrics are up, and his subscriptions have increased. Carly says she’d like to see how his ad revenues will fare. The MetroCourt has relationships with the businesses that advertise in his paper, as well as Corinthos Coffee. She’ll convince them that they’re better off not associating with his disreputable rag. Does he think he’ll be able to afford his office at the MetroCourt? His lease is up for renewal. He asks if she’s sure she wants to pick a fight with him, and she says, back off Jason, or he’ll find out.

At a fancy restaurant we’ve never seen, Valentin asks Gladys if she’d like another, and she says, why not? It’s such a nice place. He tells the waiter, another wine for the lovely Miss Corbin, and thanks her for joining him. Don’t think about Carly for one more minute. She’s tedious and overbearing. He resides at the MetroCourt or he’d avoid her altogether. Gladys says she knows all about Carly. She doesn’t buy the gracious lady act; Carly is anything but. Gladys is actually family, or she was. Carly is a gold-digging social climber who married her cousin. She and Sonny were cousins – may he rest. He was connected, if Valentin knows what she means. He says he does, as does half of Port Charles. She laughs, and says Brando got shot his first day in Port Charles. He saved Carly’s life, and Sonny still wouldn’t let him into the business.  He says, it must have been disappointing for her son, and she says, it was, but Brando got a better job with Cyrus. Valentin says he’s met Cyrus; the impressive chairman of General Hospital. Cyrus is no stranger to bad press. Gladys says she can’t believe everyone thinks Carly is so high and mighty, while Cyrus is a great guy who’s painted as a criminal. Valentin says, there are two sides to every story, and they clink glasses. She says she’s glad everything worked out, and he says he takes it Brando enjoys working for Cyrus. She says, why wouldn’t he? Brando knows a good thing when he sees it. So does Cyrus. She and Brando are going to go far.

Robert says, Maxie has a plan – God help us – and Anna has a plan, while Peter is going around covering his tracks. Anna says Jason believes Gladys saw Peter. That’s how she knew where the gun was. She was paid by Cyrus to incriminate Jason. He asks if she thinks Cyrus and Peter have a connection, and she says, wouldn’t that be great? Robert could bring them up on conspiracy charges. He tells her, come up with more evidence, and she says she’s working on it. He says she has a lot of faith in Valentin, and she says Valentin is as motivated as she is. He’s going to cozy up to Gladys, gain her trust, and find evidence linking her, Cyrus, and Peter. She wishes she could tell Maxie, but it’s too much pressure. She’s scared that Maxie will say something and give it away. He says, it’s a risk, but if Maxie isn’t told, she’s more likely to do something drastic.

Britt says if Maxie fakes a stillbirth, she’ll have to lie to everyone. There’s no telling her mom or Mac that their grandchild is alive. Her friends and family will mourn the loss, and be heartbroken. Maxie says she knows. She hates it, but they’ll understand in the end. Britt says, if Maxie manages to convince Peter the child is gone, where will the baby be? Given up for adoption? Maxie says she’s not giving up her baby. After the baby is born, she’ll be whisked out of Port Charles by someone Maxie trusts. Don’t ask her who. She hasn’t gotten that far yet. Then, after a few weeks, she’ll say she can’t stay in Port Charles; the grief is too much to bear. She’s moving, and starting a new life. Britt asks if she thinks Peter will fall for it, and Maxie says she’ll wait until Peter is in prison. Then she’ll come back and explain, and everyone will be so happy that she was able save baby. She tells Britt, please help save your niece.

Judge Carson says, for aggravated assault, she’s sentencing Alexis to three years in Pentenville. She’ll be given seven days to get her affairs in order before she needs to report to the prison. Court is adjourned. I’m thinking, it seems kind of harsh, and Diane says, it’s better than she thought it would be. Three years is light; Alexis will have the opportunity for parole. Molly says she was so scared, but Sam says, Alexis is still going to prison. Alexis says she’s fine, and it won’t be three years; it will two and a half. Molly says she knows it was an easy sentence, but what will they do without her? Alexis says she’s not gone yet. They have a week, and she’s not wasting one minute. She hugs Sam and Molly.

Curtis says, it’s nice to see Jordan too, but he’ll let her get to her work. She says, great, but why did he come over? He says, it’s not important, but she says he wouldn’t have gone out of his way to come there if it wasn’t. She knows he wasn’t expecting Taggert, but they can go somewhere private. He says she has enough on her plate with her unexpected guest. She’s a good friend. She says it’s the least she can do, since Taggert was punished for what the team did to Cyrus. Curtis says Taggert doesn’t seem to be holding it against her, besides, she’s paid in other ways. Taggert comes back with a load of bags, and says he ordered half the menu. There’s enough for everybody. Does Curtis want to join them? Curtis says, thanks; he’s good. He should probably get going. He leaves, and Taggert asks Jordan if she’s okay.

Valentin asks how long Gladys is in town, but Gladys tells him, she couldn’t say. Now she’s a material witness in a murder trial. He says, a lot of people would be nervous going up against someone as dangerous and powerful as Jason. She says she has protection. Her son Brando is very protective; that boy loves his mother. Valentin says, he has good reason. He’s sure she must be eager to see Jason convicted so she’ll have nothing to worry about, and she says, she’s just doing her part. She knows what she saw, and Jason is getting what he deserves. She says she should get going, and he says he’s sorry; he’s kept her too long. Will she let him drive her home? She says she will. It’s so nice to meet a real gentlemen. Valentin is a class act. (Agreed.)

Anna tells Robert, she doesn’t have a good relationship with Maxie right now. Maxie won’t listen to her, but if anyone can get through to Maxie, it’s Robert. He says, Maxie isn’t famous for keeping a cool head, and she says he has to talk to Maxie. Reassure her, do whatever it takes. He says he’s concerned that Maxie’s plan will get in the way of Anna’s plan, or worse, provoke Peter.  

Britt says, Maxie is right about one thing. She can’t pull this off on her own. Maxie asks if Britt is going to help her, and Britt says they have to plan a scenario for every potential situation. Maxie can’t leave town a few weeks afterward. Unless Peter is under arrest, he’s going to follow her, and expect them to console each other. Maxie says she keeps praying Peter is removed from their lives, and Britt says, her too, but they don’t know when and if that will happen. The baby will be safe, but not Maxie. Peter is fixated on her as his great love, and only salvation. He’s not going to give up. He’s going to want to be the loving, grieving partner. Maxie needs to ask herself, how far is she willing to go?

Peter tells Carly, be careful. With Sonny dead, and Jason in prison, there’s no one left to protect her. She asks what he just said to her, and he says, only the truth. Despite her grandstanding, she’s alone in a sea of predators. She says, no one is getting the better of her. Least of all, him. He asks if she’s sure about that.   

Tomorrow, Nina suggests Sonny find out who he is, Josslyn tells Cameron what he did was cruel, and Jason yells that he didn’t kill Franco.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey

There was a rewind to the Teresa/Jackie altercation from last week, that ended with Teresa storming into the house, after telling everyone to f*** themselves. Or maybe she meant just Joe #2. That wasn’t really clear. Melissa said it was bullsh*t, and Marge said Jackie had been cordial when Teresa told her to stick a sex toy up her ass. Melissa suggested letting Joe #2 talk to Teresa, but in Joe’s interview, he said Teresa hadn’t stuck up for him when Juicy Joe (aka Joe #1) put out a nasty article about him. Yet if Jackie says something, Teresa wants him to have her back. She wanted it both ways, and he was over it. Marge apologized to Jackie, who asked why Joe #3 gave life to the Evan rumor. Since Joe #3 can never speak for himself, Marge said that all the men were talking about it, and started screeching at Jackie. Jackie wondered why everyone was yelling at her, since she’d done nothing wrong. Melissa tried calming Marge down, and in Frank’s interview, he said Joe #3 did say he heard the rumor – and we flashed back to that – but all any of them said was that they didn’t believe it, So who TF cares? Jackie wanted to know why she was being a punching bag, and Joe #3 told her that at guy’s night, they all gave Evan a 100% vote of confidence. This made it all good, and they hugged. In Melissa’s interview, she said there was only one person to blame for the meltdown, and that was Teresa. Teresa came back outside, Melissa got in her face, and ended up throwing a cheese plate. Teresa whined that Melissa should stick up for her, and Melissa asked if Teresa was a weak bitch. She’d already defended Teresa too many times. Joe #2 said he was always fighting for Teresa, and screamed that Joe #1 had put his parents in their graves. That POS had put Teresa in jail, and his mother in her grave. He pounded the table, causing everything to fly everywhere, and Teresa looked like a fish out of water, with her mouth gaping open, because she can dish it out, but not take it.   

Delores said the Gorga’s would have wanted Joe #2 and Teresa to get together, and it sucked. In Joe #2’s interview, he said there wasn’t a man on earth who took away more than Joe #1 took away from him. Joe #1 took his time with his mother and sister, and he couldn’t stand the thought of Joe #1 coming between him and his family again. Joe #2 and Teresa hugged, and it was all I love you. In his interview, Joe #2 said when he and Teresa fight, it brings him back to the dark place where they were before. He told Teresa to squash it, and she said she didn’t function that way, but he told her it had to end. Jackie didn’t know what she should do about the rest of the trip, and she, Melissa, and Marge went back to Melissa’s house with Joes #2 and #3. Jackie said it had been a sh*tshow. Delores said she knew Teresa fought hard, but didn’t really want to hurt anyone. I wasn’t so sure about that. Back at Melissa’s house, Jackie said Teresa was an effing animal, and called Evan. She asked him to agree that if Teresa started something, they’d leave. Delores told Teresa that she and Jackie spoke different language. Jackie thought Teresa was a bad person, and Delores wanted Teresa to prove her wrong. Joe #2 ended up having to put his hand in a bucket of ice from pounding the table, and Jackie asked the other household to help shut it down if Teresa started something when Evan came.    

Delores told Frank that she wasn’t confident Evan was coming in peace, and he agreed. No one got much sleep at Melissa’s house, but Marge had the best quote of the night, telling Joe #2, no salt on The Marge’s food. She also said, it was a clusterf*ck of a night. Jackie said she didn’t want Teresa to be an animal around her husband, and Joe #2 let Teresa know that he didn’t want any issues at their father’s memorial. He wanted Teresa to talk to Evan, and in Delores’s interview, she said if that’s what it took to end it, talk to the effing guy. Bill arrived, and Delores said yesterday had been an emotional day for Teresa, since her divorce had been finalized and her house went on the market. Bill said he probably shouldn’t have told Jennifer what Joe #3 had said. Ya think? Marge didn’t want Teresa to suck the life out of everyone.

In her interview, Melissa said the worst thing was, you didn’t know which Teresa you would get, so she didn’t know if the worst was over. Teresa (wo)manned up, and told Jackie that she wasn’t trying to hurt her or her family, and asked if they could drop everything. Jackie said she’d like that, but don’t bring up her husband again. Teresa said it was dropped, and Jackie said Teresa needed to apologize to Evan too. Teresa said she thought that would be weird, and couldn’t Jackie do it for her, and Jackie told her that they should at least both be there. In Jackie’s interview, she said Teresa didn’t feel weird talking about him; now talk to him. In Teresa’s interview, she said her brother asked her to make it right, so she did, but felt uncomfortable speaking to Evan. She was old school, and where she came from, the wife made it good with the husband.

In the Memory Lane department, Melissa said in her interview that she was born and raised at the Jersey shore. When she’d been pregnant with Antonia, she and Joe #2 got their first shore house. It was tiny, but now they had 7 bedrooms. Melissa gave Delores and Jennifer a tour. Teresa told Evan that she didn’t like the way things went down, and hadn’t meant to hurt anyone. Jackie said they were going to let everything go, and Evan said, let’s have fun. In Marge’s interview, she said it was the weakest apology she’d ever seen, but since it came from Teresa, it was a freaking miracle. Joe #2 said he was proud of Teresa, and in Teresa’s interview, she said it was her dad’s memorial, and she hoped he was looking down to see her and her brother at peace.

Jackie asked if Evan was okay, and he said he was cool. She said she just wanted it to be over. Marge and Joe #3, and Jennifer and Bill went out on waverunners, while the rest tooled around in Joe #2’s boat. In Jennifer’s interview, she said it reminded her of summers she spent as a kid in Turkey. In Jackie’s interview, she said Teresa was like Jekyl and Hyde; freaking evil one minute, then nice and fun, but she was ready to put it behind them and have fun. At lunch, Delores said she was proud of Teresa, and somehow this led to Marge saying it was Jennifer’s fault for bringing it up. She also didn’t think it was right that Jennifer had an opinion on how she talked to Joe #3. Jennifer said Marge was shooting the messenger, and in Joe #2’s interview, he said they just put the drama to bed, and now it was starting again. Jennifer said Marge treated her husband badly, and Marge suggested Jennifer not come between her and Joe #3. She pointed out that Jennifer had embarrassed her entire family by being a sloppy drunk, and Jennifer said Marge was so sloppy, she’d slept with her boss. Oh no she didn’t. In Marge’s interview, she said her boss was an older man in a position of power, taking advantage of a young girl, and I felt the Twitterverse rumble. The guys were hanging out at the bar, and Joe #2 said he could hear Marge’s mouth, and Joe #3 said she had good lungs. Marge suggested Jennifer never argued with her husband because he was her meal ticket. Frank said meals brought out the worst in the women, and Evan suggested they just throw the women a protein bar and keep doing activities. Actually, that’s not a bad idea.

Delores asked if Jennifer hadn’t learned a lesson last night, and in her interview, she said Jennifer was like a little kid who said things you didn’t want them to. In Jennifer’s interview, she said she was a social drinker, not an alcoholic. She didn’t want Marg projecting her mother onto her. In the car, Jennifer said Marge slept with her boss to get ahead, and I felt more rumblings. Delores thought dinner wasn’t going to be quiet.

This season, Joe #2 twerks, a Halloween party, a memorial for Joe and Teresa’s father, Teresa has a new boyfriend, and Melissa tells Joe #2 that he’s holding her back.

📺 Tonight, Bravo also aired last night’s E! episode of For Real: The Story of Reality TV, which was good, since I missed it. Andy Cohen gave us a little reality history, beginning with 1973’s An American Family. I was glad to see that show finally get credit. I saw most of it one New Year’s Day in the 90s when PBS reran it, and I’ve always wanted to watch it again in its entirety. Andy told us that Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous came ten years later, and Laguna Beach in 2004 (which I never saw) paved the way for the others.

Andy interviewed Teresa Giudice, Kyle Richards, and Caroline Manzo, who’s response to being hired was, these (indicating her breasts) are real and I love my husband. Kyle said she’d never wanted to do a reality show or a soap opera, and Andy said she wound up on a reality show that was a soap opera. Showrunners gave inside info as well, and we were told the formula was go big or go home, and to show and wear your wealth. The Real Housewives of Atlanta was discussed quite a bit, it having had the Oprah Effect, where both Black and Caucasian audiences both tuned in. Since I’d never seen Basketball Wives, I was surprised to find out Tami Roman from Real World Los Angeles had been on it. In her interview, she said she’d brought her Real World self into the show, and wanted it to be about sisterhood, but it wasn’t what she got. She was blindsided in finding out another cast member had slept with her ex-husband – while they were married. We also saw a blossoming Cardi B on Love & Hip Hop, the showrunner telling us that it was about the affluence/hardship of being a woman in a misogynistic world. She also said Cardi B understood it was about getting what you needed from the show, but giving back to the audience as well. Gizelle Bryant said the cast was ratchet, but tremendously entertaining. LVP thought people loved to watch reality TV for the opulent lives, but also to see that everyone has the same problems, and go through the same sh*t with their friends. It made people feel better about themselves. Caroline explained that she’d left the show not only because it had seeped into her family life, but she knew she’d given her best to the show, and could give no more. When she saw Teresa’s audition video, she said Teresa had an innocence and lightness that wasn’t there anymore. Andy tried pumping her on what happened between Caroline and sister Dina, who she hasn’t spoken to in years, but Caroling wasn’t talking. Teresa said that what happens in life happens on RHONJ, although I’ve never once seen anyone flip a table IRL.

We moved on to the Recession, where the scrappy ingenuity of working class white people was brought to reality TV with the likes of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, Dog the Bounty Hunter, Toddlers and Tiaras, and Teen Mom. The Jersey Shore (bleh) came along next, and showed that money didn’t matter. It was about being loyal, friendships, and GTL. Funny. I thought it was about being a drunk a-hole and giving a bad name to the Shore. Vanderpump Rules and Below Deck were examined, and Tom from VPR said he thought the cast was relatable on several levels. They were making ends meet, but also striving to get to the next level. Captain Lee said Below Deck was a combination of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous and Downton Abbey, but on the water. Kate Chastain leaving a blanket folded like a rocketship d*ck for guest Dean was revisited, and she said she couldn’t even tell us how many d*ck gifts she gets on a daily basis. I’m not so sure I’d want to know anyway. She also said guests would ask her to sign the book she’d written. Scwartz (VPR) said he was sure he was going to wake up on Tom’s couch, super hungover, and find out it was all a crazy fever dream. Andy’s final thought was that reality TV reassured us of our shared humanity, and reminded us that we’re not so different after all… for the most part.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Continuing on with the way the week started, I missed the beginning, but here’s what happened. Laura stopped by the nightclub, where Curtis was fixing things up. She asked if he thought he’d made a good decision buying it, and he said he did. Jordan and Taggert went back to her apartment, and she said he could have the guestroom. At the hospital, Peter was angry because Finn had just told him to get lost, and left a voicemail for Cyrus. He wondered if Cyrus’s eyewitness had blabbed about him being Franco’s real killer, and said Cyrus’s witness should think smarter for their own safety. Finn saw Michael at the MetroCourt, and said he was on his way to Alexis’s hearing. He asked for Michael’s take on it, since Michael is Dante’s half-brother. Anna offered Carly some tea, and Carly said Jason had been framed; Peter had killed Franco. Alexis arrived at court, with Sam and Diane, who wanted her to change her plea to not guilty. Alexis said that wasn’t going to happen, and Valentin arrived to be supportive. By this time, I was at the keyboard, and…

Finn asks if Michael doesn’t think maybe Alexis will get what she deserves, and Michael says he’s also related to Kristina. They’re all worried about Alexis, and they all just want her to get the help she needs. Finn says, the same with Dante, and Michael says, Dante isn’t just the victim; he’s the only witness. He has to testify. Finn asks if Michael has any idea what Dante is going to say, and Michael says, the truth. Dante is a former police officer. He’s going to be honest and objective, but there’s no way he’s going to downplay what happened. Alexis was drunk and impaired, and grabbed a needle filled with lidocaine and tried to kill Franco. Instead, she injected Dante, and he almost died.

In the courtroom, Alexis admits she could use a drink, and Sam says she’s not going to have one, is she? Alexis says, no, and Sam hugs her, saying she’s so proud. Diane says, they all are. If Alexis is strong enough not to drink, she’s strong enough to let Diane fight for her. Valentin says, not if Alexis wants to face the consequences, and Sam asks why he’s encouraging Alexis to go to prison. He says he supports Alexis’s recovery, and if she wants to own up to what she did, and make amends, that’s entirely up to her. Sam says, if that means pleading guilty, she’ll be sending herself straight to prison, and Diane says, not guilty doesn’t mean innocent. It just means Alexis is using the judicial system the way it should be used. Valentin says Taggert pleaded not guilty, and Alexis says, he was accused of a Federal crime, and went before a Federal judge. Sam tells Alexis to please listen to Diane, and plead not guilty, but Alexis says, she was drunk and out of control, and almost killed Dante. She needs to face the consequences. Dante walks into the courtroom.    

Jordan tells Taggert, since he’ll be staying with her, she want to establish some rules. He promises to put the toilet seat down, and she says she was thinking about more than that. No self-pity parties. When they were on the task force together, they knew what the rules were, but a lot has changed. Taggert says, one thing that hasn’t is their desire for justice. How are they going to get Cyrus?  

Laura tells Curtis that she’s looking forward to his grand opening. She and Doc would love a place to go and unwind, and listen to good music. He says that’s exactly the atmosphere he wants to provide, and she says, expect to see a lot of them. They’ve promised to have more date nights. Curtis says, so things are good between her and Doc? and she says, never better. Why is he asking? He says he’s currently flying solo, and it makes him feel good if his friends are happy in their relationships. Laura says, they’re just terrific, but she wishes she could say the same for her other relationships. He asks if it’s Spencer again, and she says, for once, Spencer is staying out of trouble. She was referring to Martin, the brother she never knew she had. She decided to surprise him with a cake and candles on his birthday. He says, that was nice of her, but he guesses it didn’t go well. She says, Martin barely had a chance to make a wish, when her other brother showed up and ruined everything.

Jason says, Cyrus never had Florence when he was a child, and never will. Cyrus tells him not to misunderstand. He doesn’t mean any harm to Carly, her children, or the Corinthos empire Sonny left behind, but Jason scheduled a meeting with some well-respected family owned businesses, and he can’t attend. He knows patience is not their virtue. Jason says he’ll reschedule, and Cyrus says, that’s not necessary. He intends to fill the void left behind by Jason and Sonny. He’ll do his best to see that everyone’s interests are protected. The families drive a hard bargain, but Jason knows how reasonable Cyrus can be. Return his mother, or Jason will be tried and convicted for the murder of Franco Baldwin. It’s his choice.

Carly says Anna was told that Peter arranged for Drew’s plane to go down, and sent an assassin to kill Andre and Franco, but she wouldn’t listen. Anna says she was wrong, and Carly says, she was in denial. She wouldn’t see what was in front of her, and because of that, Peter was walking around free. Even as the body count was climbing, Anna told herself Peter was innocent and could be redeemed. Anna says she’ll carry the weight of that regret for the rest of her life. Why is Carly there? Carly says, Jason thinks they can work together. He trusts Anna. Anna says, Carly clearly doesn’t trust her, but Carly says she trusts Jason. He believes in Anna, and she’d better not prove him wrong.

Dante, who’s wearing a suit, tells Diane, he dressed the part, and she says she always advices her clients that their appearance affects how their testimony is received. He says he can wait outside, and Sam says he doesn’t have to be there, but Alexis asks him to stay. His presence reminds her of why she’s made the choice she’s made.

Peter comes out of the elevator at the MetroCourt, and sees Finn and Michael. He asks if Finn has heard from Anna; are they speaking? Finn says, even if he had the time to talk, he wouldn’t waste it on Peter. Peter laughs, and keeps walking. Michael says, Peter’s day is coming. Sooner than he thinks.

Carly says, Anna doesn’t look surprised, and Anna says Jason told her Peter killed Franco. Peter has gotten away with far too much for far too long, and a lot is on her. She wants him brought to justice just as much as she wants Jason exonerated. If Carly has any suggestions about how that can be accomplished, she’d like to hear them. Carly says, the eyewitness is Sonny’s cousin. She said she saw Jason ditch the weapon, and Carly thinks she was paid to lie. Her son works for Cyrus, so she has access to him, and she’s taken money from Cyrus before; she was paid to betray the family. Anna says, so she’s mercenary, and Carly says, Gladys knew Cyrus hated Jason, so when Jason was brought in, she reached out, and Cyrus told her to go to the police. Anna says, and she told them where to find the gun. When it was retrieved and there were no prints on it, it validated her story. Carly says, exactly, and Anna says, it makes sense, but why does Cyrus want to protect Peter?

Gladys tells Brando that his boss is an amazing man. Not only did Cyrus pay Brando’s medical bills, he’s been generous to her. Brando asks what’s in it for Cyrus, and she tells him, don’t be cynical. Obviously, Cyrus cares about Brando. He’s concerned about his own mother, and wanted to make sure they’re in good place. He says they went over this. He knows she told Cyrus that Dev wasn’t his son, and came into the country illegally. She gave Cyrus the information to hold over Sonny’s family, and him. She asks how he can say such a thing, and he says he knows her. Cyrus is a dangerous man, and if you disappoint or cross him, he’ll make sure you regret it. Peter comes by, and asks if Gladys has a moment. She preens at his attention.  

Cyrus tells Jason, by this time tomorrow, someone else could be sitting in his cell, and Cyrus can save him a place at the sit-down with the Five Families spaghetti sauce empire. He can pledge that Carly, and everyone near and dear to her, has their safety and security guaranteed. All Jason has to do is return a harmless little old lady who means nothing to Jason, but everything to him.

Laura tells Curtis that she thinks she wanted Martin to be the good brother partly to soften the other brother. Curtis says he never had much contact with Martin. They may have crossed paths socially, but he’s not a fan of lawyers, except Alexis. He will say this though, at his worst, Martin isn’t in Cyrus’s league… or is he wrong? What did Martin do? She says, Cyrus went out of his way to paint Martin as unscrupulous with a dark side, and Martin didn’t deny it. He says, she was hoping he would? and she says she thought she was past the point of being disillusioned by people. He says, it’s not a crime to want to see the best in people; it’s a good trait, especially with family. She says, except they’re too close. It obscures their vision, and they see people the way they want to, not how they are. He says he thinks that’s how he was seeing Jordan, and she says she realizes she was rushing into it because of the family connection. Maybe he’s doing the same thing.

Jordan says she and Taggert can order pick-up. She remembers him having a weakness for dumplings and prawns with garlic sauce. I immediately get hungry. He wants to look at Cyrus’s file, but she says, it’s a police file, and there’s strict access. They can’t do this the way they did it before. It has to be legit. He says they’re older and wiser, and he’s going to have to pass on the garlic sauce. He goes into the other room with his bag, and she takes out the PCPD file on Cyrus.

Dante asks Sam, what’s up? and she says she’s just checking on him. He says, because of his triggers? but she says, that’s not what she means. She doesn’t think he’s dangerous, she’s just checking to see how he’s doing. He’s been through a lot in the past few days, and almost killed Peter. He says he would have if Sam hadn’t talked him down, and she says she honestly wishes he would have. She went to the PCPD to see Jason, and he told her that Peter killed Franco. He asks if she’s got proof, but she says, not yet. They will though. He says, her and Jason? but she says, no. Her and Peter’s sister Britt.

Diane says she spoke to the bailiff, and the judge is running late. She still has time to mount a defense for Alexis. Alexis says, even if there’s time to argue mitigating circumstances, there’s more at stake than her freedom. Diane says, from a philosophical standpoint, Alexis is right, but the judge can give her a suspended sentence or send her to prison. Valentin says, it’s more than what this is about legally. If Alexis wants to be healthy and sober, she has to be rigorously honest with herself. Finn comes in, and tells him, says the guy who lies like breathing.    

**Carly tells Anna that Gladys told the police where to find the gun. Peter must realize that she knows it’s him, and his fate is in her hands. There’s only one person who can connect him to the murder. Anna says, he’ll want to eliminate her, and Carly says, she wants to explain that to Gladys, but she won’t listen. Anna says maybe she’ll have a go at Gladys, and Carly says, a stranger with a British accent? Anna says, maybe she can find someone else, and Carly says, Gladys might go to Cyrus for a bigger payout. They have to find another angle; a way to win Gladys’s trust. Anna asks Carly to tell her everything she knows about Gladys.

Peter starts to introduce himself, but Gladys says she knows who he is. He’s the publisher of The Invader. She never misses it, especially Page Five. She introduces herself, saying she’s the cousin of the late Sonny Corinthos. Her son Brando is a trusted employee of Cyrus Renault. Does Peter know Cyrus? Peter says, everybody knows Cyrus. Brando’s phone dings, and he says, it’s the garage; he’ll get it later. Gladys tells him to take it, since it’s work. Brando steps away, and Peter says he gets the distinct impression they’ve met before. Gladys says, it’s possible. Peter does have one of those faces. The kind you never forget.

Cyrus asks what Jason says. For Carly’s sake, is he ready to come around? Jason says Cyrus doesn’t have to worry about getting a Mother’s Day gift this year, and Cyrus says Jason had his chance; he won’t get another one. Cyrus leaves as Michael is coming in, and Michael asks Jason if it’s something he said. What was Cyrus doing there? Jason says, he delivered a message, and Michael says he guesses Cyrus didn’t like Jason’s answer.

Jason tells Michael that he knows Diane is working on bail, but a witness came forward, so it’s less likely to be granted. He’s not expecting to be released any time soon. Michael asks how Jason is doing, and Jason says he’s spent a lot of time in lock-up. He doesn’t love it, but he’s used to it. Michael says, this time, it’s different though. Sonny is gone, and that has to put pressure on Jason. Jason says, Michael hasn’t asked if he did it.

Carly explains to Anna that Gladys is an opportunist, and Anna says, so it’s about money. Carly says, partly, but Gladys is also chasing things money can’t buy. She always looked at Sonny as her super successful relative. He was rich, but also respected, even feared. Anna says, he had prestige and standing, and Carly says, Gladys has lived her life on the outside looking in, and resents it. She thinks these are things she deserves, but doesn’t want to lift a finger to get them. She thinks they’re owed to her. Anna says, interesting. She has an idea of how to handle Gladys.  

Alexis says she appreciates Finn’s support, but Valentin is there to do the same thing, and Diane says, if they can’t play nice, she’ll send them home. Finn says, any personal issues will take a back seat, and Valentin says he’ll reciprocate. Sam tells Alexis there’s time to change her plea, and Finn says, Alexis loves a big fight, but the bigger fight is the one they wage every day. Valentin’s phone dings, and Alexis says she can see from his face it’s important. He says he wants to be there for her, but she says he has been; she’ll take it from there. He leaves, and Diane says, so Alexis is changing her plea to not guilty? Alexis looks at Finn, and says, no. She’s pleading guilty. Diane says, it’s Alexis’s call. Just know she’ll fight like hell, whether Alexis wants her to or not.

Peter says he hopes Gladys didn’t get the wrong impression of him. His father was not a good man, and a lot of people mistakenly think he’s following in his father’s footsteps. She says, she’s an independent thinker, and he says he wishes more people would be. He’s been dealing with a woman named Liesl Obrecht, who’s accused him of killing Franco. Where in this twisted universe did she come up with something like that? Gladys says, search me, and he says, yet Obrecht didn’t claim she saw him; she heard the story from someone else. Gladys leans forward, and says, off the record, she saw the whole thing. She went to the police, and told them she saw Jason toss the gun. He says he applauds her. Most people would be afraid to come forward. She says, not her. She knew it was too important for her to stay silent. He says, she told him that she’s a big fan of The Invader. Would she like to see her name and photo in it? She’s come forward as an eyewitness, and deserves front page coverage. Cyrus comes by, and says, that’s a bad idea that has the potential to be catastrophic.

Laura tells Curtis that she didn’t know Martin at all, and wanted to believe he was the good brother because she wanted a brother, a sibling. It’s been so long since Amy died. She rushed into the family connection, and it blew up in her face. He asks if she’s just going to write Martin off, and she says she’s not. She’s just going to take it more slowly, and proceed with more caution; see Martin for who he really is. Curtis says, it doesn’t sound too different from his situation with Jordan. Maybe he needs to see the person who Jordan really is. She says Curtis is more invested. He and Jordan have time and history. Don’t give up on that. He says, TJ was there earlier, and said the same thing, and she says, he’s still not convinced? He says, there are no easy answers, but it’s hard to rebuild trust. She says she knows Jordan hasn’t always been honest, but doesn’t think it’s all on her. Curtis just created this wonderful new life for himself. Wouldn’t he like to invite Jordan into it? Or has he made the decision to move on already?

Taggert comes back out, and suggests they order Italian. Jordan hands him the folder, and he sits with her. She says they know Cyrus is using GH to reinvent himself as a pillar of society, and he says, to make himself respectable, so his sins are glossed over. She says, they have one advantage. They see past his veneer of respectability, and see him for who he is. And one day, in the near future, they’ll figure out a way to prove it.

Gladys says hi to Cyrus, and tells Peter that Cyrus has been wonderful to her son, and her. She loves her room. Peter says, Cyrus has been generous to many people; he counts himself among them. Cyrus says, allow him to advise Peter against putting Gladys on the front page. If Jason’s lawyer manages to get him released on bail, it’s going to put Gladys in his sights, and nobody wants that. Peter says, of course (🍷) Cyrus is right; nobody wants that. Brando joins them, and Cyrus suggests he treat his mother to dessert she can enjoy in her room. Gladys says she’d prefer to stay there, but Brando says, let’s go. She doesn’t want to overstay her welcome. He walks her to the elevator, and Cyrus asks Peter what the hell he was thinking. Peter says that it’s been speculated that someone other than Jason killed Franco, and Cyrus says, there are haters everywhere, but if Peter doesn’t let it go, enough people will start to believe he should be in a cell instead of Jason. That’s the last thing Cyrus wants, unless Peter fails to deliver his end of the bargain.

Michael says, if there was a chance Jason had killed Franco, there would be no trace. And he wouldn’t have done it because Franco was Jake’s stepfather, and Jake’s happiness means more to Jason than anything. Jason thanks Michael for knowing that, and Michael says, it means Gladys is lying. If she was a normal person, he’d say she was confused, but she’s done it out of spite, or greed, or both. Does Jason think she’s hoping someone will pay her to change her testimony? Jason says, someone else is already paying her, and Michael says, someone like Cyrus? Is that the message Cyrus just delivered?

Carly says, the only reason she’s going along with this is that there’s no better plan, and Anna says, it will work. Carly says, if Jason goes to trial, it could be months before Gladys is on the witness stand, and Anna says, that’s why they have to put the plan in action now. Carly says there’s a difference between how badly she and Anna want this. Anna wants Jason freed because she thinks it will be nice, but to her it’s everything. It’s crucial that Jason be free. Anna says she wants him to be free too, but more important, she wants Peter locked up. Then Maxie and the baby will be safe. The first step is to get Gladys to implicate Peter for Franco’s murder. Is Carly in? The doorbell rings, and Carly says, she’s in. Anna opens the door to Valentin, who says he got her message. It sounded urgent. She says they’ve been waiting for him, and brings him into the living room. He sees Carly, and looks at her quizzically.

Taggert says he’s impressed at Jordan’s extended research, and she thanks him. She says, they still have no way to bust him. Taggert says, they’re not talking about framing him again; he’s not going down that road. This time, he has more to lose than she does. He says he didn’t mean it that way, and she says she knows he wants to make Trina proud. There’s a knock at the door, and Jordan says, it’s going to be a long night. She hopes it’s the food. It’s Curtis, who comes in, saying, he knows he should have called first, but he has something to say that can’t wait. He sees Taggert sitting on the couch.

Sam says she wishes she could spare Alexis the ordeal, and Finn’s phone dings. Alexis says, first Valentin, now him, and Finn says, it’s the hospital, a patient. Alexis says she can handle it, and he says he knows she will. He has faith in her. They hug, and Finn leaves. The bailiff comes in, and says Judge Carson is on her way. He tells them to take their seats. They sit, and Alexis takes Diane’s hand.  

Michael says Jason took his dad’s place before, but he can’t run things from in there, and Cyrus will take over. Jason says, Cyrus isn’t a problem, and Michael says, of course (🍷) he is. He’ll target them unless someone steps in. Jason says, that’s not happening. Michaels says he knows Diane will do everything in her power to get Jason bail, but while Jason is out of commission, someone has to step in until he can take charge again. Jason says Sonny never wanted this life for Michael, and Michael says, Sonny isn’t here anymore. Cyrus won’t stop until he’s running the whole town. Someone needs to take him on, and there’s no other way. Jason says, that’s where Michael is wrong.

Peter tells Cyrus, Jason is in custody, and there’s no one standing between Cyrus and the Corinthos empire. Cyrus says, unless Jason makes bail, but Peter says Cyrus wouldn’t let that happen, would he? Cyrus says, it will take both of them to ensure that Jason stays behind bars for the rest of his life. 

Gladys looks at Cyrus and Peter, and tells Brando that she’d love to be a fly on the wall. He asks if she knows what happens to flies; they get swatted. She says she’s touched that he cares, and he says, then listen to him. Get in her car, and go home to Bridgeport. She says, is he kidding? And miss the excitement? No way. He says he’s warning her, Cyrus’s generosity comes at a price, and she says, everything in life that’s worth having comes at a price. She’s done without having the finer things in life long enough. It’s time to cash in. He can get in the elevator, but she’s sticking around.    

Valentin says, Anna and Carly are working together? and Carly says, it’s a marriage of necessity. Anna says, they have to stop Peter, and Valentin says they have his attention. Anna says, Jason was implicated by a witness who’s lying. The real killer is Peter. He asks what they’re going to do, and Anna says, they’re not doing anything. He is.

Tomorrow, Jordan tells Curtis that Taggert is staying with her, Alexis says she’s willing to accept punishment, Maxie tells Britt that she’s confident they can handle this, and Peter asks if Carly is sure she wants to pick a fight with him.

🍹 The guests on tonight’s Overserved were Lance Bass and husband Michael Turchin, and Vivica A. Fox. The theme was An Evening in Provence, and LVP greeted them with ponies Diamond and Rosé. Dancing with the Stars (which they’d all been on) was discussed, especially how physically grueling it is. Vivica told them that when she’d done Kill Bill [Vol 1], it was like training for the Olympics, and she went from a size 6/8 to a 2. Lance told a story about meeting Julia Roberts, and gushing over her films, only to realize it was Cindy Crawford. He said she must have thought he was Julia’s biggest fan. At LVP’s urging, a quite drunk David tried to play a practical joke on Lance by jumping out of the ponies’ shed wearing a horse’s head. But it went wrong, and David ended up with a bloody nose. Apparently it wasn’t his first accident, since he said he’d broken his nose four times. Vivica said she’d been nervous to meet LVP, but she had so much fun. As did we all. I love this show. Unfortunately, the second airing did not include a preview, so I have no clue who will be on next time, but I know it will be amusing.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Why is it always on the days I have more time, I don’t? I missed the beginning, but the main points were… Scotty couldn’t get ahold of Elizabeth, and went to her house. Cameron said he hadn’t heard from her, which was unusual. Josslyn came by because she’d been worried about Cameron not being in school. Scotty gave them privacy, and Cameron told Josslyn that everything was falling apart. He explained about Franco moving out, and said he thought Franco was giving up. Josslyn suggested that Cameron call Franco. Elizabeth accused Jason of killing Franco, and Jordan said she wanted Elizabeth and Jason to come to the station. Jason said he wanted his lawyer. Laura met Carly in Sonny’s kitchen, aka the home of the moss bowl, and said that the Board wasn’t submitting Cyrus’s drug to the FDA. Carly said Sonny would have been overjoyed, and Laura said she missed Sonny. Laura was worried about Cyrus, since his plans had been halted and his mother was missing. Carly thought Sonny would tell them, pray for peace and prepare for war. At the Tan-O, Lenny tried to negotiate with his mortgage holder, since he needed money to get his bar back in order after the break-in. He also no longer had a room for rent. Sonny offered to give up his room, but Phyllis said she had a plan, and a Mr. Drummond showed up to look at Phyllis’s wedding china. Maxie insisted on allowing Peter into her room, and told him the baby was fine. He asked how she was, and she said she’d been scared, but was doing well. She told him that the police were looking for him, and said she’d always defended him. He said he still wanted them to get married, and prove everyone wrong. He wanted her to run away with him tonight. When I finally sat down…

Cameron tells Josslyn, at least Franco will know he’s thinking of him.

Jordan says she needs Elizabeth’s help. Elizabeth is a nurse. What would she say to a woman who just lost her husband to a terrible crime? Elizabeth says she’d let her grieve, and Jordan says, and then? Elizabeth says she’d tell her that she should let her husband go so the police can do their job, and Jordan asks her to tell herself the same thing. Elizabeth kisses Franco’s forehead, and tells him that she loves him. Jordan leads her away, and Franco’s phone rings.

Cameron leaves a message telling Franco, don’t get a big head, but he misses him. The police take photos of the crime scene, and Cameron says he just wanted to tell Franco. He has some things to say he should have said before. He knows Franco is going through a lot of things, but call back anyway. Unless his mom has done the right thing, and kidnapped him to bring him back home.

Carly tells Laura, she’s confident Jason is prepared for any move Cyrus might make, and Laura says she thinks Cyrus is going to move quickly. Jason can’t be everywhere all the time, and doesn’t read minds. Carly says, she’d be surprised, when Laura’s phone dings. Laura looks at it, frowning, and Carly asks if something is wrong. Laura says she’s sorry, but she has to go. Carly asks if it’s about Cyrus, and Laura says she’ll hear soon enough. Franco was shot and killed tonight.

Scotty’s phone rings, and Mac says he needs Scotty to come to the station. Scotty says, no can do. He’s with his grandkids. Call the public defender’s office. Mac says he needs Scotty there now, and Scotty says he’s on his way. Scotty tells Cameron that he’s got to go. Take care of the house, and don’t get into trouble. Cameron asks where he’s going, and Scotty says, a lawyer’s work is never done. He’ll catch Cameron later.

Maxie tells Peter, leave Port Charles and their family? He says they’re all the family they need; her, him, James and Lu. She asks, what about Georgie? And he says he’d gladly bring her, but doubts Spinelli would allow it. He knows she’ll miss Georgie, but they’ve lived on opposite sides of the country. They’ll find a way for Maxie to see her. Outside in the hallway, Anna tells Valentin, Maxie doesn’t see the obvious, and Peter isn’t letting this go. Peter tells Maxie, the past can’t touch them. He made sure of that. It doesn’t matter. Peter remembers picking up Franco’s phone, and listening to his own confession. He deletes it, like the police wouldn’t be able to track it down regardless. He wipes the phone of prints, and puts it in Franco’s pocket. I say, what a pr*ck, and Peter says, goodbye Franco. He wishes he could say it was nice knowing him. He leaves, making sure he doesn’t touch the doorknob. Maxie asks him, what does he mean, the past can’t touch them?

Anna sighs, and says they should have never let Peter go in, but Valentin says it’s what Maxie wanted. She says, Maxie doesn’t need physical protection, but Peter is going to spin his alternate reality, and paint himself as a victim. Valentin says, sooner or later, it will catch up with Peter, but Anna says Valentin heard him. He doesn’t care about a standard, or earning her love and respect. Valentin says, Peter was trying to make her feel guilty for the terrible things he did. Don’t let him do that. He played her like he did Maxie. Anna says, the difference is, she’s a trained agent. She should know better. He says they were both blinded by guilt. He doesn’t know what that says about them, but it doesn’t absolve Peter.

In the interrogation room, Mac asks if Jason has anything to say off the record, before he starts to record. Jason says nothing, and Mac says, a man is dead, and it’s their responsibility to find out who killed him. It will make it easier on everyone, especially Elizabeth, if he tells Mac what happened. Diane walks in, and says Mac must certainly just be preparing to interrogate her client. A seasoned law professional like himself wouldn’t interview her client without her there. He says he assumed her client called her, and she says her client firmly believes he’ll be exonerated. Mac says, right. Elizabeth lost her husband, and she and Jason share a son together. Diane says, if there are no pertinent questions, they’re leaving, and Mac says, if Jason has any sense of responsibility to his boy, his brothers, or his mother, he’ll tell Mac what happened.

Jordan leads Elizabeth into the station, and says she knows Elizabeth is in shock. The last thing she wants to do is put Elizabeth through more hell, but she needs to know what Elizabeth saw in the studio. Elizabeth says, Jason killed Franco in cold blood, and Jordan asks if Elizabeth saw Jason pull the trigger. Elizabeth shakes her head, and Jordan asks, if she didn’t see it, why is she so sure he did it? Elizabeth says, because Franco asked him to.

Jordan brings Elizabeth coffee, and Elizabeth says, Franco was afraid the recurrence of the tumor would bring back his violent tendencies, and he’d turn back man used to be. She told him that could never happen. He was a good man. Jordan says, Franco wanted a failsafe in case he got too dangerous and couldn’t control himself? Why would he turn to Jason? Elizabeth says, because Jason wouldn’t hesitate to kill him. Jordan asks what Jason said, and Elizabeth says Jason’s actions speak for selves, don’t they?

Diane says they have no interest in joining Mac’s fishing expedition, and Mac says, Jason called in the homicide. Did he just happen to drop by because he and Franco are good pals, and found Franco bleeding out? Diane says Jason isn’t under oath, and not obligated to answer. Jason says, he did not kill Franco.

Laura tells Carly that Franco was shot, and says she needs to talk to Jordan. She leaves, and Josslyn comes in. Carly asks if she was able to see Cameron, and Josslyn says she was going to give Cameron a hard time for skipping school, but he’s worried about Franco. Cameron guessed Franco was having a nightmare, and when he woke Franco up, Franco grabbed him. It was blown out of proportion, and now Franco is checking himself into Shadybrook. Cameron is taking it hard. She told him to call Franco. Carly asks if he did, and Josslyn says, he left a voicemail. Hopefully, Franco called back or went home so they can work it out. Carly says it’s great that she and Cameron are so close. Josslyn is going have to be there for him. Josslyn asks, what’s going on? and Carly says, Franco was shot tonight. He’s dead.

Phyllis thanks Mr. Drummond for coming. She knows it’s late. He says, not a problem, and she hands him a plate, saying, it’s one of twelve, and there are matching soup bowls and salad plates. How much? Lenny takes the plate out of Drummond’s hand, and says he’s not letting Phyllis pawn her china. She says it will bring in the extra money they need, and Sonny says he knows what’s going on. Drummond is going to give her a lowball offer, and she’ll accept because she’s desperate. He’ll use the plates and the rest of the china to put in his front window, because he knows it will bring in customers. When Phyllis tries to buy back her china, he’ll raise the price, and make her pay double. It’s good business, right?    

Laura asks Jordan, so it’s true? and Jordan says she’s afraid so. Laura hugs Elizabeth, and says she’s so sorry. How did it happen? Jordan says that’s what they’re trying to find out, and Elizabeth says she needs to go home and tell the boys. Jordan says she still has questions, and Laura asks if they can wait until tomorrow. Jordan says, of course (🍷), and tells an officer to drive Mrs. Baldwin home. Elizabeth says, Mrs. Franco Baldwin, and leaves. Laura asks if Jordan knows who killed Franco.

Mac says if Jason didn’t do it, does he know who did? Diane says Mac is assuming Jason witnessed it, and Mac says he’s assuming her client wants to help them find the killer, so he can clear his name as a suspect. Mac has the motive and the opportunity. How soon before he finds the means?

Laura says, Jason? She tells Jordan that she knows Jason didn’t like Franco, but why go after him now? Jason has enough on his plate with Sonny dead. It doesn’t make sense. Scotty comes in, and asks, what’s going on? He saw Elizabeth getting into a squad car, and Mac told him to come down there. What happened? Laura asks Jordan to give them a moment, and Jordan says, of course (🍷). Scotty says it looks like Laura’s got bad news; don’t sugarcoat it. She says she’s so sorry to tell him this. Franco was shot tonight. Scotty says, that damn Invader, that smut sheet. He knew some crackpot would come after Franco. They need to get to the ER. She says, there’s no need for the ER. He… nobody could do anything. Franco died at the site.

Cameron hears someone come in, and says, where were you? He was calling. He turns to see Franco, who smiles.  

Cameron says, Franco got his message? and Franco says he did, and he left something for Cameron. There’s something he wants to tell Cameron. Try to remember this. Don’t ever forget that he can change the world. Cameron changed him. Cameron asks, how? and Franco says he never thought he would have children; he didn’t want them, the responsibility. He was afraid he would screw up a sweet innocent little human life, but Cameron, his brothers, and his mom helped Franco change his mind, and made him believe he could be a better person. For a while, he thinks he was. Cameron says, not for a while. He is. He’s a great guy. Franco says, thanks. Cameron is a great kid, and he loves him. Don’t forget that either. Cameron hugs Franco, and Franco says, later. He walks to the door, and Cameron asks where Franco is going, but Franco leaves without saying anything else. Cameron says, wait, and wakes up on the couch. The door opens, and it’s Elizabeth. He asks where Franco is. Didn’t she see him? Elizabeth says, it’s just them, and Cameron says Franco was there. They had a talk, and Franco left, but he was there. He asks Elizabeth, what’s wrong? and Elizabeth sits next to him. She says she’s so sorry. Something terrible happened.

Jordan tells Mac that he should be at GH with Maxie. She’ll talk to Jason, but Maxie needs him. Mac thanks her, and Jordan goes into the interrogation room. Diane says her client already stated he didn’t kill Franco, and has nothing to add. Jordan says she’s not there to ask him questions, but wants him to listen to her. She spoke to Elizabeth, and Elizabeth told her that Franco asked Jason to kill him if he manifested any violent impulses or rampages. Did he agree, and decide not to wait? Did he decide to go for preemptive action, and kill Franco tonight?

Scotty tells Laura, Karen, Logan, now Franco. Why isn’t there a law? There should be a law that says a kid can’t die before their parents. Franco’s tumor came back, and he was fighting for his life. Then he was murdered; snubbed out like some cigarette.

Anna tells Valentin, there’s no real evidence against Peter. While they figure out Plan B, Peter is there, convincing Maxie that he’s innocent. Valentin says, most people have put up with Peter, but now he’s been exposed as a fraud, but she says, the trouble is, she has the feeling Maxie wants to be persuaded by Peter, especially given the secrets they’ve kept from her. Valentin says, he thinks Anna is right, and they need to steel themselves for Maxie going back to Peter.  

Peter tells Maxie, they’ll be free of the past, and no one can keep them apart. She asks what he means, and he says he took care of things, like he always will for her and their daughter. He asks her to take his hand. Show him that she trusts him, and still believes in him. He knows they can begin again together, starting tonight. She takes his hand, and he says he knew she’d choose him. He needs to get her out of the hospital, and no one can stop them. The pain and anguish of the last few hours will be behind them forever. He promises. She says she only wishes he could feel the pain and anguish she suffered when she thought she was losing the baby. He says he panicked for them, and hopes their little girl is okay. Maxie removes her hand from his, and says she’s going to make sure their daughter stays that way. She’s sorry. She loved him, but the man she loved never existed.

Diane says, if Jordan is going to interrogate her client… Scotty busts in and says he knew it. Jason was the SOB who killed his son. Now he’s coming for Jason. Laura says, no!

An officer holds Scotty back, and Scotty says, let him go. Jason is the criminal. Jason killed his son. Why does he get to live. The officer drags Scotty out, and Laura asks Jason to please tell her that he had nothing to do with Franco’s death. Diane tells him, don’t answer, and Jason says Laura knows him. Laura nods, and leaves. Scotty yells that they should stick a needle in Jason’s arm. Diane tells Jordan, they understand Scotty is a grieving father, and won’t be pressing charges for assault at this time. If Jordan has no further questions, they’re going to leave. Jordan says, it’s Jason’s last chance. If he has something to say, say it now, while she can still help him.

Josslyn tells Carly that Cameron couldn’t stand Franco at first. Then they had a truce, and Franco saved Cameron’s life. After that, Cameron was all in. He thought Franco was the best. He loved Franco so much, and now he’s just gone… just like Sonny. She remembers how mad she was at Carly for going back to Sonny. Now she just misses him, all the time. She’s just so tired of missing people she loves. Carly says, her too, and hugs Josslyn.

Lenny takes the plate out of Drummond’s hand, and says Phyllis’s wedding china isn’t going to be pawned today. Phyllis says, Lenny and his pride. They’ll be living in a cardboard box.. He tells her not to back down. They’ll find another way; he promises. He tells Drummond, goodnight, and Drummond says Lenny could join his weekly card game, and take the last penny he’s got, but Lenny says, not a chance. Sonny fingers his rings, and asks Drummond, how much for these?

Maxie says, the kindness Peter showed her; the sweetness, the devotion, and promises that he’d changed. He says he had, but she says, it was all an act. She cries, and says, what makes it worse, is that he almost got away with it. He had her at the altar. Even when Valentin told her the truth, she refused to see it. Not anymore. She’s not going away with him. Not now, not ever.

Mac asks how Maxie is, and Anna says, she’s in there with Peter. He asks why they didn’t stop Peter, and she says, they tried. Mac barges in, and tells Peter to get the hell away from Maxie. He has questions for Peter, and Peter says Mac can talk to his lawyer. He’s not going with Mac. Mac says, then get out already. He’s seen one family torn apart. He’ll be damned if he lets Peter hurt his. Maxie says, what family? and Mac says, Franco was shot and killed tonight. Anna asks if they have a suspect, and looks at Peter.

Elizabeth takes Cameron’s hand, and says, Franco’s dead, but Cameron says, no, he’s not; he was just here. Franco came there and told Cameron how much he loved him. He told Cameron how brave he was, braver than him. That’s not true, but he was here. He said when he came home, they’d laugh about it. Elizabeth says, it’s not the tumor that killed Franco; he was shot. Cameron cries, and she says she knows. Cameron says, he was shot? and she says, the police are trying to figure it out. Cameron says, the Invader article said he was dangerous, and somebody shot him. Who shot him? She says, whoever it was, the truth will come out, and they’ll face it together. They’re a family. He says he should have been there, and cries harder, which makes me want to cry. Elizabeth says, it wasn’t Cameron’s fault.

Drummond asks how a drifter like Sonny got pieces like those, and Sonny says, he forgot. How much? Drummond says, two-fifty, and Sonny tells him, write a ticket and give him cash. It’s enough to pay for a seat in his card game, right? Drummond smiles.

Josslyn wonders if they’ll ever know what happened, but Carly doesn’t know. She still feels married to Sonny, and thinks she always will. Josslyn asks how she handles the grief, and Carly says, sometimes she doesn’t. Sometimes she wants to scream, cry, and crawl into a ball, and sometimes she does. Then she thinks. the best way to honor Sonny is to keep going. Take care of the things he cared about, and the people he loved; live life to the fullest. Josslyn says she learned that with Oscar, but living life to the fullest without the person you love can be hard sometimes. Carly says, it can be. It helps having the kids around, and makes it a little more bearable.

Diane tells Mac, this interview has reached the point of diminished return. In the absence of witnesses and evidence, is Jason free to go? Mac says, for now, but don’t leave town.

Laura tells Scotty, try to calm down, and he says he’ll go quietly. He sees Jason walking out, and asks why Jason’s not stuffed in a cage. He’s coming for Jason, and hell is coming with him.

Elizabeth asks Cameron if Jake and Aiden are asleep, and Cameron nods. She guesses she’ll tell them in the morning, and Cameron takes her hand and says, they’ll tell them together. She hugs him.

Mac says, Franco is dead. They’re in the beginning stages of the investigation, and Jason is a person of interest. He asks why Valentin and Anna are still there, and Valentin says, for Maxie’s sake. Peter says, only for Maxie’s sake, he’s going, but he’s not going to give up. The past is dead, and what they have is the future. He leaves, and Anna looks at Maxie.    

Tomorrow, Sam wants to return a favor, Anna tells Jackie that she has no one to blame but herself, Sonny asks if the game is still on, and Carly says she can’t lose Jason; she won’t.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey

Still at Lake George, Delores explained that she and David don’t sit and talk, so she has to walk away and defrost. Since they didn’t live together, they could do that. Marge called Joe #3, who told her the guys had gone out last night, but Evan didn’t join them. Marge asked if they’d talked about the situation, but Joe said no, which was clearly a lie, since we flashed back to them talking about the situation. Marge said they’d called Jackie, and she felt bad about it. Teresa called pool guy Tony, and said the girls had been checking out his Instagram. We saw his picture, and he’s pretty ripped. He said Adriana called him a mommy stealer. Marge joined the rest, and told them about the men going out. Teresa said she was thinking about Jackie, and was more madder [sic] now. In Jennifer’s interview, she said Teresa cools off, then thinks about it again, and remembers why she’s mad. She knows they’re done talking about it, but something else pops into her head. Marge suggested they enjoy the lake. What a concept.

In Jennifer’s interview, she said she and Melissa were getting along, and she didn’t want to ruin it. She would 100% want to know if there was a rumor about her or Bill, but she had to do this the right way. The women hung out on lounge chairs by the shore, and Delores said she didn’t feel the need to do something active. Melissa got on a swan float, Jennifer and Teresa did some kayaking, and Lexi used a paddle board. Teresa insisted Tony was her friend, and not for her. In Delores’s interview, she said there was nothing wrong with these guys, but Teresa had to get out of this small pond. Teresa said, when it was right, it would happen. In her interview, she said she was looking for attentive, sweet, and someone who could be lovey-dovey. She suggested if David didn’t make a move, that Delores kick him to the curb. Jennifer asked Melissa to stay behind while the others went back to the house to get ready for lunch.

Jennifer told Melissa, there was something on her mind that she didn’t want to bring up in front of the whole group. She asked Melissa if she knew Michelle, and Melissa said she’d interviewed them about Grow with Gorga, but she didn’t really know her. Jennifer said, at Jackie’s party, Michelle had mentioned their husbands were supposed to split a speaking fee 50/50, but Joe never paid, and it was in the tens of thousands. Melissa said, WTF? a few times, and asked what Jennifer was talking about. Jennifer told her not to shoot the messenger. She was just letting Melissa know what was going around. Melissa asked if Teresa knew, but Jennifer said Teresa never mentioned it if she did. She thought it was f***ed up that Michelle was talking smack about Teresa’s brother when she was friends with Teresa. They went back to the house, and Teresa asked what they were talking about. Melissa told her that Michelle was talking sh*t about Joe #2, saying Joe owed her husband money, but she never said anything to them. Teresa said she didn’t know anything about her brother’s business dealings, and who knew what went on? In Melissa’s interview, she told us, if someone had said that about Teresa, and they didn’t defend her, holy sh*t. Teresa said she and Michelle were meeting on Wednesday, so she’d see. Marge said it was unprofessional, and a good way to f*** up a business.

Melissa called Joe #2, and told him what Jennifer had said. Teresa said that Joe #1 never told her anything, and she went to jail. Joe #2 said he and Jon didn’t have a deal; a friend had hooked them up. Joe got a bill, and paid it. Months later, Jon asked how much Joe had made; it was out of left field. He thought Jon saw his success, and wondered how much he could get from it. Melissa said Teresa always brought the kooks around, but Teresa said Michelle had been nice to her. Melissa wondered if talking sh*t about her brother was being nice. In Melissa’s interview, she said when it came to Teresa defending her brother, there had always been a double-standard. Joe #1 talked sh*t in the press about Joe #2, and Teresa didn’t defend him. Teresa told Melissa that she would handle it, but Michelle was a great effing real estate broker.

Chef Kevin came to set up dinner outside. Meanwhile, Jackie’s brother Eric paid a visit, and in her interview, Jackie talked about how Eric had been stuck on a cruise ship for a month when he got covid. He was the only member of their family who’d gotten it, and she was already protective of him because of his learning disabilities. He told her that he was scared when he had the virus, but he was okay now, and Jackie told him a friend had been mean to her, and spread a rumor about the family. He said he hated that, but suggested she brush it off, and think of something that made her happy. In her interview, Jackie said her brother taught her to be a kind person, but she didn’t know if she could be as big, and let it go.

Kevin and his crew set up picnic tables, and candles in the grass, which seemed dangerous to me. The entrée was surf ‘n’ turf, and the women watched the sunset. Melissa asked if Teresa was on any dating websites, but Teresa said it would be in every tabloid if she did. Marge talked about her book deal, and said she was excited. The book was a bit of a memoir, but more about the pitfalls of business. She’d worked in the garment center in the 80s. She was 22, living in the city (NYC to you novices of East Coast lingo), and it was her first job. Her boss was good-looking, 20 years older, and wanted to sleep with her. So she did. She said it was a weird dynamic, and a different time. In Jennifer’s interview, she told us  that she’d never say something like that out loud, much less publish it. Marge said she wanted women to learn from it. Teresa brought up Jackie again, and in her interview, Jennifer said Teresa expected Jackie to move on, but the irony is, Teresa can’t stop talking about it. She’s beating it with a dead horse [sic]. Can any of these women form a proper sentence?

When they got back from Lake George, Marge met Jackie for lunch. She said everyone missed Jackie, but Jackie thought it was for the best. Teresa had spread something that could tear a family apart. Marge said she’d want to know, but in Jackie’s interview, she said if Teresa had been truly concerned, she could have pulled her aside. Instead, she told everyone except for her. Marge said she thought Teresa said unfiltered things without thinking of the repercussions, but Jackie asked if Marge was that gullible. She wasn’t having this conversation, because she knew Teresa was smarter than that. She wondered how Marge could forgive Teresa for encouraging Danielle’s assault on her, but Marge said forgiveness was for herself. Jackie asked if Marge forgave Danielle, and Marge said she was over it. Jackie said Evan wasn’t over it, and she wanted a party re-do. She didn’t want him to remember his birthday as sh*t.  

Michelle came with a photographer to take pictures of Teresa’s house, and told Teresa that it needed to be like a hotel room. They got one shot to make a first impression. As they went through the house, we flashed back to different scenes there over the years. Teresa said it was really happening, and she wanted to talk to Michelle alone. She told Michelle that she was getting cold feet, and Michelle asked if she was getting emotional. Teresa said she had anxiety, and asked Michelle why she hadn’t talked to Joe #2 about the payment issue. Michelle said it was between her husband and Joe, and didn’t affect anything, but Teresa said she wasn’t listing her house until it was cleared up. Then she’d feel more comfortable. Michelle agreed that her husband and Joe should talk (no doubt realizing she’d said the wrong thing), and she appreciated it. I’m willing to bet she was seething. I have to doff my cap to Teresa too, for having her brother’s back to that extent.   

Everyone got ready for Jackie’s party. Except for Teresa, who wasn’t invited. Frank said he was like a gay guy to Delores, and she called him her gay husband. Well, he kinda is. Bill called Jennifer, and said he had bad news. He’d been called in for an emergency surgery, and had to go to the hospital. He wasn’t going to make Jackie’s party. She said she was afraid Jackie was going to be a raging bull, ready to attack. Jackie told Evan that she wanted him to have a re-do, and he said the rumor thing was ridiculous. She said we were born with one name, and to have someone smear it was awful. Marge told Joe #3 that she was afraid if anyone defended Teresa, Jackie would go ballistic, and Joe #2 told Melissa that he was afraid there was going to be Teresa bashing. Jackie told Evan, the bottom line was that it was a re-do of his birthday, but also for him to feel supported. She said you had to know that some people in your circle valued you enough to have your back, and Evan said being supportive was the base of friendship.

They all met at an outdoor restaurant, where a game of cornhole was set up. Jackie told Evan that she was sorry about the first time around, and he said, sh*t happens. She said, tonight it was important to put this sh*t to rest. Jackie told Melissa and Joe #2, the Gia thing was an analogy (because we could not avoid that word for even one week), and it wasn’t her intention to really say something about Gia. Just in case they’re idiots. In Melissa’s interview, she said this was a different Jackie than the one a few days ago. She knew Jackie was so hurt, yet she was trying to do the right thing. Jackie said she’d never felt that low in her adult life. I’d say she’s blessed then. In her interview, Jackie said Evan loved the guys’ group, but had a career in finance. Evan explained that every rumor, even if it was bullsh*t, caused scrutiny. Joe #2 said he thought Teresa was just looking out for Jackie, and Evan said that was one of the dumbest things he’d ever heard in his life, making Joe laugh. In Joe’s interview, he said he told their father that he’d protect his sister. He looked like an idiot, but that’s his sister, and he had to back her up. They agreed a birthday party hadn’t been the place to bring it up.

Melissa said she was just putting it out there, but no one believed the rumor about Evan. Evan said, even if something is completely baseless, you couldn’t fully erase it. The guys played cornhole, and Jennifer told Jackie, there were clearly some things she couldn’t say to Teresa. Joe #2 asked Evan how Jackie felt when she heard the rumor, and Evan said she didn’t believe it for a second. Joe said if it had been Melissa, it would have been a different story, and Evan said, guilty until proven innocent. Jennifer told Jackie that she didn’t think Teresa was malicious, and had definitely been drinking. In Jackie’s interview, she said Jennifer couldn’t stop licking Teresa’s a-hole for a minute. Joe #2 said it was offensive to be called a cheater, and they had Evan’s back; they were his boys for life. Joe #3 said he’d be Evan’s alibi any time. In Frank’s interview, he said he didn’t care if the rumor was true or false, he just wanted Evan and Jackie to be happy. Joe #2 said they were sorry Evan hadn’t joined them the other night, and Joe #3 said they were hoping he’d bring the girls.

Jackie gave a toast, and said her first attempt at a party for Evan was destroyed, and she didn’t want it to be what they remembered. She loved him. In Jennifer’s interview, she said they were all tired of hearing about the rumor, but she’d rather Jackie be toasting about it than crying in a puddle.

Next time, Joe confronts Michelle’s husband, Melissa confronts Michelle, and Jennifer falls over drunk at a party.
