General Hospital

Brando is working under a car, and reaches for a torque wrench. Someone hands it to him, and he quickly scoots out from underneath the car. It’s Sasha.

Dante knocks on the gatehouse door, and Michael says, sorry to make him come all this way. Dante says, good thing it’s not far from the main house. Michael asks if Dante wants a beer, and Dante says, why not? Michael apologizes for being all over Dante, but Dante says he wasn’t. Michael was being a brother, and he appreciates it.   

Willow asks how Chase is feeling, and he says, better. He just can’t tell if he’s improving, or if it’s because she’s here.

A nurse gives Finn some paperwork, and says the lab put a rush on it. Finn thanks her, and Gregory walks in. He asks how their boy is.

On the phone, Carly says, be careful. She loves him. She turns around and Sonny is there. He asks, how’s Jason?

At the Tan-O, Jax asks if Nina is still on the phone. She says she is, and he says it’s good to hear her voice. He’s missed her. At the bar, Eli asks if Mike no-last-name is calling him a fraud, and Sonny tells him, he said it. Nina tells Jax, she can’t do this, but he says there’s something he wants to tell her. Tell him where she is, and he’ll come to her.  

Chase tells Willow, he had a dream that she came to his apartment, and said she was moving back in. He knows it wasn’t real, but it felt so good to hear that. She says, there’s something they have to talk about, and Finn opens the door. Gregory walks in, and asks how Chase is feeling. He was worried sick. Chase says he’s okay. It helps to have the people who care about him there. Finn says Chase is stable. According to the lab, there’s not anything obviously wrong, and his lungs are clear. Gregory says, no sign of food positioning? and Finn says, no. Besides, they’re all fine. Chase asks if he can go home, but Finn wants to keep him a little longer for observation. Gregory says, it’s good Willow can be there. He’s glad they got back together.    

Dante tells Michael, he’s sorry he’s been distant. He wasn’t trying to avoid Michael; he was trying to figure things out. Michael asks how that’s going, and Dante says, it’s going good. He feels like the fog is finally lifting. He guesses the sessions with Doc are helping. He’s feeling like himself again. He was called to testify at Alexis’s hearing, and when he was up on the stand, going through everything that happened, it was the first time in a long time that he felt grounded; like he actually knew what he was doing. He knows it’s ridiculous. He’s testified dozens of times before, and could do it in his sleep. Michael says, one of the benefits of being a great cop; Dante knows how to give a testimony. It must have felt good using his skills. He asks if Dante is going back to the PCPD, and Dante says, Jordan keeps pushing it, but he doesn’t know if he’s ready. Michael says Dante is so good at it, and Dante thanks him, saying he should have visited a long time ago for the ego boost. Michael says the department would be lucky to have him, and it would be nice for Chase to have a partner too.  

Brando says he appreciates Sasha coming out to see him, and she tells him, let’s be real. Her options of people to talk to are pretty limited; him and her drug counselors. He says, what about Michael? and she says, they ended things. He says he’s sorry, but she says she’s not. They gave it the old college try, but they both knew it wasn’t working out. Brando asks her for a screwdriver, and she says, flat or Phillips? He says, Phillips, and she hands it to him. She asks what brought him to the garage at this time of night, and he says after working all day for Cyrus, he likes to do something where he gets actual grease on his hands. She says, it’s like taking a shower. He’s cleaning Cyrus’s world off by getting himself dirty.

Carly says, Sonny is there, and he says, where else would he be? How’s Jason? She says, fine; not that Jason would tell her if it was anything else. Jason won’t last, and she needs to get him out. Sonny says, it’s already taken care of, and she asks, how? He says, don’t worry; he’s got it. She thanks him, and says, so much is going on. It’s been so… He says, overwhelming? Josslyn comes downstairs and asks if Carly is okay. Carly says she was just lost in thought, and asks how Josslyn’s ankle is. Josslyn says, it hurts a little, but it’s nothing she can’t handle. Carly says, please tell her that she didn’t play, and Josslyn says, she wishes. She’s out of practice. Carly asks, what is it? and Josslyn says, what? Carly says, whatever Josslyn isn’t telling her.

Nina tells Jax, whatever he needs to tell her, he can say on the phone, but he says it’s news he wants to tell her in person. He promises he won’t ask anything of her. He just wants to talk. She says, that’s what they’re doing now. Being in the same room won’t solve any of their problems. He tells her that he’s not saying it will, but it could be a start. Phyllis taps Nina on the shoulder and holds out her hand. Nina gives her the phone, and Phyllis says, Mr. Jax, it’s Phyllis Caulfield. Does he remember they met in Port Charles? He says, of course (🍷), and Phyllis says, where she comes from, pressuring a woman is bad manners. Leave Nina alone. She’s finally starting to heal. Phyllis hangs up, and gives the phone back to Nina. She says she hopes she didn’t overstep, but Nina says, no, and thanks her. She says she’s not ready to see Jax, but when she heard his voice… Phyllis says when Nina got there, she was broken and bruised, but she’s been putting herself back together. Nina says, with the help of friends, and Phyllis says she doesn’t want anything to disrupt that. Nina says, neither does she, and Jax coming there would ruin everything.  

Sonny tells Eli, he has an excuse; he doesn’t remember. What’s Eli’s excuse? His story doesn’t add up. Eli says maybe Sonny forgot basic math, and Sonny says he remembers how to keep an eye on someone. He has two on Eli. Nina asks if Eli is ready, and Eli says, let’s got out of here. They leave, and Sonny asks if Phyllis is okay. Phyllis says, no. She just did something incredibly selfish.

Sasha tells Brando, at first it didn’t sit right with her, now it seems blatantly wrong. He asks, what does? and she asks why he’s working for Cyrus. He clearly can’t stand Cyrus, so there must be a good reason Brando is working for that total slime. What is Cyrus doing? Blackmailing him? Brando doesn’t say anything, and Sasha says, oh my God, he is. It’s Cyrus’s M.O., like when he left the cocaine on her plate. He asks if they can please drop it, but Sasha says Cyrus wants power over everyone, and has power over Brando, but it’s not drugs. She would know if Brando was using. She thinks a moment, and says, it’s Dev. He was in the country illegally. That has to be it. Brando asks for a socket wrench, and she hands one to him. She says, here’s the deal. He saved her life, literally. He says he thinks the doctors and nurses did that, but she tells him, drop the pretense and admit she’s right. He says, fine, and she says, fine what? He says, yes. Cyrus is blackmailing him, and yes, it’s about Dev, but it’s so much more complicated than that. She says, it’s good they’re alone then, and they have all the time in the world.  

Willow says she’ll let Chase have some family time, while she gets coffee, but Gregory says Chase would rather see her than them. Chase says, true story, and Gregory says he’ll get coffee. It’s the least he can do. Chase says he appreciates it, and he appreciates Gregory salvaging the dinner when he gave up. Gregory says he meant every word. They’re still a family, even if their positions have shifted. He says he’ll be right back, and Finn says he’s glad Chase is going to be okay. He scared them. Chase thanks Finn for taking good care of him. He’s sorry for going off at dinner, and kicking Finn out of the apartment afterward. Finn says he should have insisted on staying; it would have saved them some trauma. Willow says she was glad to help, and Chase tells Finn that he’s sorry. Just so Finn knows, they’re okay. Finn asks if Chase is sure it’s not the drugs talking, and Chase says he’s sure. Finn leaves, and Willow asks, what happened at dinner? Chase says, it was  tense, mainly because of him, but he doesn’t want to talk about it right now. Willow asks what he does want to talk about, and he says, her and why she came by. What did she want to tell him?

Dante asks Michael why Chase would need him to lean on, and Michael says Dante knows. Dante says he doesn’t, but what he does know is they’re standing in Willow’s house, and it looks like Michael has been there a while. What’s going on? Michael says he and Willow are together, and not for show or for Wiley, but for them. He loves Willow so much he can’t see straight.

Phyllis tells Sonny, Nina’s ex called, and she could tell he was pushing Nina to see him. Nina was so torn, Phyllis took the phone, and told him to stop. Sonny asks what he said, and Phyllis says she doesn’t know; she hung up. Sonny says, that’s not selfish. She was protecting a friend. Phyllis says she was protecting herself too. She had a flash of what it would be like if Nina went back home. Sonny asks if Phyllis would miss her, and Phyllis says she loves having Nina there, but it’s not fair to put that on her. Jax seemed nice when they met. He asks what Nina said, and Phyllis says Nina was grateful. Sonny says, all right then. It’s good Phyllis shut it down, no matter what the reason. Nina seems like the kind of girl who gets herself in trouble whether she means to or not. Phyllis asks if he’s talking about trouble, or Eli.

At the lookout, Nina thanks Eli, saying, it’s spectacular. Mike showed her the old mill and the river, but this view of the falls is something else. He says he promised her the insider tour, and he keeps his promises. It won’t be a well-kept secret for long after she publishes the article, and tourists start flooding in. She says, that’s the hope, and he says, who knows? Maybe someone will recognize Mike. She tells him to remember what she said; the next few editions are planned. It will be a while before Nixon Falls is a destination. He says, somebody will figure out the mystery eventually, and do the town and Mike a favor.

Josslyn tells Carly that she wanted to wait until things calmed down, so they could celebrate. Carly says, tell her the good news, and Josslyn says she got into PCU. Carly says, the volleyball team; division one, and hugs Josslyn. She says she’s so proud. Josslyn is going to college. Tomorrow, they’ll do whatever Josslyn wants. She suggests Josslyn get some ice for her ankle since she’s limping, and Josslyn says, good idea. Carly says she loves Josslyn, and Josslyn says she loves Carly too. Josslyn heads for the kitchen, when the doorbell rings. It’s Jax, who asks if it’s a bad time, and Carly says, no. What’s up? He says he has something to tell her, and she’s probably not going to like it.

Gregory brings some coffee to Finn, saying he thought they could all use some. Finn thanks him, and says Chase is ready to go. Gregory took the high road, and Finn wishes he could be more like him. Gregory says Finn can be whatever he wants. Isn’t that what he tells Violet? Finn says, it is.   

Willow tells Chase, she’s not sure how to say what she needs to say, and he says, whatever it is, he’s there. They’ll figure it out together. She sits, and takes his hand. She says, sorry her hands are cold. They must have lowered the temperature; her hands are like ice cubes. He says he can’t feel his hand… or his other hand… or his feet.    

Dante says he won’t tell Michael, I told you so. He could tell there was something real between Willow and Michael. Michael says he’s afraid he’s going to wake up, and it will be a dream, but Dante says, it’s not a dream. It’s real, and no one is more deserving than Michael.

Brando says, Sonny needed a father for Dev, and reached out to his mom, so she claimed Dev as her grandson. She didn’t even tell Sonny that he was alive. Sasha asks how he actually figured it out, and he says, it was Christmastime. He was feeling sentimental, and looked at his mom’s Facebook page. There it was, front and center, a picture of her with her grandson. He doesn’t have kids, and he’s an only child. She says, obviously his mother was up to something, and he says, nothing good.

Nina tells Eli, if she does the article, it won’t be for Mike. It will be for Phyllis and Lenny. He says they make it easy, but if a guy like Mike comes around, he’s on guard. She says she gets it, but didn’t Eli try to buy the Tan-O? He says he did, until Mike stepped in with the cash for them to keep it. She tells him, he says that like it’s a bad thing, and he wonders if he can ask her something. She says, sure, and he asks, how it is Mike forgot everything about himself, and wormed his way into Phyllis and Lenny’s lives? She says, like he did?  

Phyllis says Sonny barely met Eli before he was after him, and Sonny says, sometimes instinct kicks in. She says, Eli is a good guy; they’ve known him a long time. Sonny says he knows they helped Eli out after he graduated business school, and she says, he was buried in debt, so they took him in. Sonny says, Eli moved to San Francisco, and asks if Eli ever said anything about the jobs he had there. She says, there was one that inspired Eli to change his life, and Sonny says, really? Can she remember the name?   

Jax tells Carly that he had a good talk with Michael, and she asks, about what? He says, whether Michael would reconsider allowing Nina to be part of Wiley’s life, and he said, yes. She asks why he did that. Nina told her grandson that Willow wasn’t his mother. It upset Willow and Wiley, and it was out of line. He says he understands, but Nina isn’t an evil person. She says she didn’t say that, but who’s more important? A two-year-old or a grown woman? Don’t answer that. She can’t handle it. There’s too much going on in her life. He says, like what? and she says, like how the hell to fix things for Jason.

Jax tells Carly not to get so worked up. She just makes things worse. She says, they can’t get worse, and Jax says, oh my God. If there was ever a human who could take care of themselves, it’s Jason. He has the best lawyer, and eventually, he’ll go free. He just has to last until the trial. He’ll be fine. She says, he’s not fine. Cyrus isn’t stupid. He’s a master manipulator, who finds weak spots and goes after them. He can’t do that with Jason, so the only way to get rid of Jason is to kill him, and that’s what Cyrus is going to do. Jason is in Pentenville, and she knows he’s strong, but he can’t stay awake 24 hours a day. He’s the one person who can hold Sonny’s territory together, but more than that, she can’t lose Jason. It’s that simple. Josslyn comes in, and asks if they’re fighting. Jax says he’s sorry, and Carly says Josslyn knows how she gets worked up when she’s passionate. She’ll tone it down. She tells Josslyn to let her dad know the good news, and Josslyn says she got into PCU. He says, get out, and hugs her. Carly says, Josslyn earned a spot on the volleyball team, and Jax says, amazing. It must take the sting out of being waitlisted. Carly says, waitlisted where? What does he mean, and why didn’t she know?  

Eli tells Nina, he didn’t worm his way in; Phyllis and Lenny offered to help. She says, like they’re doing with Mike, and he says, at least he knew who he was. This guy hasn’t given any indication of his past, or who he might have been. Nina says, it’s true. She doesn’t know anything about him. She just knows he’s a decent dancer. Eli asks if she thinks Mike is okay, and she says she does think Mike likes this town. He enjoys the simplicity. Eli says, he wears an expensive watch for someone who enjoys the simple life, and Nina asks if this is an insider tour or a fishing expedition about Mike. He says, sorry; they can change the topic. She says, to what? and he says, to her. How did she meet Phyllis and Lenny? She asks, does he mind if she takes a raincheck? It’s cold, and she had a call this morning that put her out of sorts. And no, she’s not telling him what it was about. He says she mistakes his interest for nosiness, but he’s coming from a good place. He promises.

On the phone, Sonny says he’s sorry to bother them. His name is Mike Smith, and he works for a company in Pittsburgh. He’s thinking of hiring someone to work for him; Elijah Crowe? Did he work for them?… What’s that?… He embezzled from them?… Arrested, but not convicted… Oh, okay. He’s sorry to hear that. Thanks for the heads up. Phyllis walks in.

Sasha tells Brando, Facebook of all places. You’d think Gladys would know better than to post a picture. He says he saw the picture had been taken at Sonny’s house, so he made his way to Port Charles, and when he got there, it was a mess. She says, not a mess of his making, but he says he still felt responsible. His mother agreed to play along, and what about Dev? What could he do with Dev’s future hanging in the balance? Cut him loose? She says, so he agreed, and he says, then, true to form, his mom told Cyrus the truth. She can guess what came next. Sasha says, he used Dev, and Brando says, Cyrus not only held Dev over his head, but Sonny, Carly, Josslyn, and everyone who knew. He had no idea how big a problem it was going to be, and didn’t want to find out. 

Finn pokes Chase’s hands, and says, nothing? Chase says his feet and hands are numb and tingling at the same time, like they’re asleep. Finn pokes on the bottom of Chase’s foot, and says, now? Chase says, no, and he pokes higher on Chase’s leg. He says, now? and Chase says, no. Gregory asks, what’s wrong?    

Finn says, it’s neuropathy, which is related to the nerves. It’s a symptom of an underlying condition or conditions. People who have diabetes often get it. Willow says, Chase doesn’t have diabetes, and Gregory says, what else? Finn says, a toxin, a tumor on or near the spine, kidney disease… Chase says, not scary at all, and Finn says he’s not trying to scare Chase. Chase asks if Finn can figure it out, and give him something to make it go away, but Finn says he needs to find the origin. Gregory asks, how? and Finn says, tests, a lot of tests. He asks if Chase is okay, and Chase says, it burns everywhere. Finn says he’ll give Chase something for the pain, and Chase says, he guesses this means he’s not going home tonight. Willow sends a text.    

Sasha says Brando is working for a man he loathes to protect people he barely knows, who haven’t always been that nice to him. That doesn’t include Dev, but Dev is gone. He tells her, don’t do that, and she says, what? He says, make him out to be noble. He did it because partly, the family has been pretty decent to him, and his mother is the other part. Cyrus is an SOB. She says he’ll get no argument from her, and he says he’s hated guys like Cyrus his entire life. His mom has done horrible things, but Cyrus is exploiting her, like he tried with Sasha. He’s glad she survived, for a million different reasons, but most of all so she could step back. The first chance he gets, he’s going after Cyrus. She says she had no idea he had a personal interest in her, and he says she’s not looking close enough. He moves closer to her, and they kiss.

Dante says it’s great that Michael and Sasha ended on good terms; it’s rare. Michael says he hopes the same is true for Willow and Chase. That’s where Willow is. Dante says, poor guy. It sucks to be on the losing end. Maybe he’ll be cool about it. Michael says, that’s what they’re hoping for, and Dante says if Chase needs someone to talk to, he’ll do it. Michael asks if that’s Dante’s way of saying he’s getting back on the force, and Dante says, no, but it’s under consideration. Michael says, he’ll take it.

Sonny asks what Phyllis has, and she says she thought she’d show him some pictures of their time with Eli. Nina and Eli walk in, and Phyllis says they’re back early. Was Eli a terrible tour guide? Nina says, Eli is an excellent tour guide and Nixon Falls is beautiful. Eli says he asks too many questions, and Phyllis says, he’s always been that way. He hates talking about himself, but he’s the best listener she’s ever met.  

Jax tells Josslyn that he’s sorry. He didn’t realize she’d never said anything. Josslyn says, it’s fine, and Jax says he should probably let them talk. He congratulates her again and hugs her. He leaves, and Carly says, Josslyn was waitlisted for Southern Coastal? How does she feel? Josslyn says she didn’t want to tell Carly, since Carly already has so much going on. She didn’t want to add to Carly’s plate. Carly says Josslyn is her plate. Anything going on with Josslyn is her top priority. She wants to know how Josslyn is feeling. Josslyn says, it’s not ideal. She wants to play with the best of the best. The Southern Coastal program is hands down the best. She honestly thinks it would be good for her to get accepted so she could have some distance. Carly says, from them? but Josslyn says, not from them. She’ll miss them like crazy. From Port Charles in general, her friends. Carly says, not Trina, and Josslyn says, Cameron.

Gregory says he knows Finn needs to run tests, but what does his gut say? Finn says he’s seen a lot, but this one, he doesn’t know. He wants to do a full neurological work-up. Gregory asks if it’s serious, and Finn says, it could be very serious.

Chase tells Willow to go home, but she says he’s in pain. He says she heard Finn. Finn is going to give him some medicine for the pain, and put him in a room. He’ll probably fall asleep. She says she can’t leave when he’s so sick.

Dante asks if Michael and Wiley are moving in, and Michael says he thinks that’s the plan. Dante says, look at him. His little brother, all grown up. He raises his beer bottle, and says, to Michael, Willow, and a lifetime of happiness. Michael says, cheers to that, and they clink bottles.

We see tools and clothes on the garage floor. We see the car Brando was working on has steamy windows, because Sasha and Brando are getting busy inside.

Carly says she knew things were strained, but did Josslyn and Cameron get in a fight? Josslyn says she can’t be around Cameron anymore. At first, she thought he was the one going to California, but it looks like he’s staying. Carly says, so she has to go? She doesn’t understand. Josslyn and Cameron have been friends since they were little. Can’t they work it out? Josslyn doesn’t see how. Cameron is so devastated over the loss of Franco. Of course (🍷) she understands, but he’s making the worst decisions. He refuses to listen to reason, and blames Jason for everything. She knows Carly hates anyone who hates Jason. Carly says she does, but Josslyn says, don’t hate Cameron. He’s grieving. Carly asks if Josslyn hears herself. On one hand, she wants to go far away, and on the other, she’s telling Carly to go easy on Cameron. Josslyn says she’s telling Carly not to hate him, and Carly says, how about Josslyn? Josslyn says she doesn’t hate Cameron. She hates where everything is right now, and how she feels about it. She hates how everything is up in the air. It’s so stupid, because she has so much to be thankful for; Carly, her dad, her family, college… Carly says, two colleges, and Josslyn asks why it has to be so hard. Carly says, because sometimes it just is. Sometimes even when a lot of good stuff is going on, life can be hard. She says she knows life is hard, and hugs Josslyn.

Nina thanks Eli for taking the time to show her around, and he says he hopes she meant it about the raincheck. Phyllis asks Nina to tell her the highlights of the tour, and Eli leaves. Nina says, the moon over the falls is amazing. Phyllis says, it’s special. What about Eli? How did it go? Nina says, fine, and Phyllis says, Mike seems suspicious of Eli. Nina says she thinks Eli feels the same way about Mike.

Outside, Eli takes out his phone, and Sonny joins him. Sonny says, Nina had a good time, and Eli says he has more to show her. Unless it’s a problem. Sonny says, no problem; see him soon. He adds that he’s on to Eli, and smiles. Eli smiles back, and leaves.  

Tomorrow, Laura asks what her son promised Martin, Ava doesn’t think that’s the way to do it, Nina asks Sonny what if he could get himself back, and Carly says, no more waiting around.

🏖 On tonight’s episode of the excruciatingly long season of Summer House, everyone partied, while Hannah and Des got busy. The highlight of the party was a drunk Kyle trying to get Frosted Mini Wheats out of a plastic container, where he seemed to think they were stuck. Lindsay said the tough love she gave Stephen made him step up, and she could call him her boyfriend again. Luke said he was Hannah’s biggest fan, and wanted her to be happy, but he was concerned Des was using her, since she was successful and Des was a washed up comedian. I have no clue where Des is on his career road, but Hannah isn’t that famous. It’s not like she’s Margot Robbie. She isn’t even Robbie Benson.

Danielle said she was taking it slow with Robert, since her last relationship was ten years ago. She didn’t think Stephen was the guy for Lindsay, and thought he was going to run out of steam. The housemates had a Kentucky Derby party, where the girls wore huge hats, and everyone watched the race on a big screen TV. Ciara was the big winner, and was glad she didn’t have to split it. #singlelife

They spent a day at the beach, where Hannah clung to Des, giving the other women opportunity to discuss their relationship. Paige said Hannah was doing everything but sending Luke a picture of her and Des having sex. She thought Hannah’s ulterior motive was to make Luke jealous, but didn’t think it was happening. I’m not sure about Hannah’s motives, but I got the distinct impression Luke wanted to put a damper on Hannah’s parade. We revisited Kyle’s proposal to Amanda two years before, and they settled on a new date of July 18th, 2021, having been waylaid by the pandemic. Amanda said she was in f*** it territory over the details, and wanted to go for simplicity.  

Des jetted early, not wanting to wear out his welcome, and Hannah asked if Luke liked Des. After a bunch of dancing around the question, Luke said he didn’t not like Des, but Des wasn’t a guy he’d have a drink with. In Hannah’s interview, she said before Luke met Des, he tried to convince her that she was going to fast, but now he was saying Des wasn’t cool enough to hang with. She didn’t think Des was going to be best friends with a guy she had history with. I find Des to be corny and romantic – not my jam – but he’s likeable, and seems to be good for Hannah. Hannah told the other girls that Luke complained about Des not hanging out with the guys more. As though to point out a possible why, Kyle announced that he wanted to think about how many places he could pee on the property. While peeing on some shrubbery. Danielle said Robert integrated with the house more, and the whole thing ended with Hannah saying something to the effect that they didn’t understand. The same way a lot of the episodes end.

Next time, finally an end to this misery, the bloom is off the rose for Lindsay (that was quick), Paige tells Amanda that she’s the problem in her relationship, a pre-wedding wedding, and Amanda thinks if Hannah can’t have a relationship with Kyle, she can’t have one with Hannah either. In other words, more middle school stuff brought to you by people pushing 40.

General Hospital

Willow tells Michael that she thought he said Sasha agreed with her. He says she did, but it made him realize how much more her opinion means to him than Sasha’s. She says, that makes sense. She is Wiley’s mom after all, but he says, she’s more to him than Wiley’s mom. How she feels matters to him. She says he matters to her too, and they’re about to kiss, when Sasha comes in. Sasha apologizes, saying, the housekeeper let her in. She knocked several times, but she guesses they were too busy to notice. D’oh!

On the phone, Brook tells her mother to stop with the prenatal vitamins. She’ll get some. Honestly, Lois is as bad as Olivia… Of course it’s awkward. Her dad left the house, Olivia is monitoring her every breath, Michael is completely obsessed with being a dad… No, she’s not avoiding anything. She already talked to Valentin. She looks at her fake pregnancy belly, and says Valentin has been refreshingly fine with everything. She thinks he’s going to make quite the good father. She tries to make the device more comfortable.

At the MetroCourt bar, Carly asks what Valentin’s guy had to say, and Valentin says, he confirmed what Valentin already suspected. Gladys has been calling a disposable burner phone, paid for in cash, and ID isn’t required for those kinds of purchases. She says, so they can’t trace the number back to Cyrus, and he shakes his head. She says, if they can’t link Cyrus to Gladys, they can’t prove he’s paying for her false testimony, and Jason is going to stay in Pentenville until his trial. He says, that means Peter has the last laugh, but she says, not just Peter. Cyrus too.

Nikolas asks what Cyrus wants with his mother, and Laura says, he wants his mother, Florence Grey, and he wasn’t very happy with her when she said she couldn’t help him. Cyrus says, fine. If she’s not motivated to protect the lives of their family, perhaps her son will be motivated to protect the lives of his. Nikolas asks if Cyrus is threatening him, and Cyrus says, threats are the resort of the uninspired and impatient. He likes to think of himself as persevering and imaginative.

Ava starts to open the package, and Doc says, maybe it’s a wedding present. Laura tells him that Ava and Nikolas are renewing their vows. Ava says, yes; that would be so exciting, but she thinks if it were a wedding gift, it would probably be wrapped in some pretty… She reaches in and stops. She pulls out a hand and flings everything to the floor. Doc picks up a note, and she says, what the hell? Somebody sent her a lopped off hand? He says, it’s not exactly a note of congratulations, and she asks what it says. He reads, an offering for my goddess. May you always feel my hand in yours. Forever, R.

Doc picks up the hand, and Ava says, obviously, it’s fake, but still. He says, it’s an anatomical model. The kind they’d use in an educational setting. She takes it from him, and asks if it’s supposed to be funny. He says he doesn’t think whoever sent it was going for a laugh, and she says, not whoever. They both know Ryan sent it. Doc says he’s not so sure.

Nikolas says Cyrus is obviously to cautious to spell things out. He’s not so careful. He wonders how much his mother has told Cyrus about his father’s side of the family – the Cassadines. They’re not afraid to use any means necessary to protect the ones they love. And if Cyrus doesn’t believe him, he’ll have him over at Windymere, and off of a turret. Cyrus laughs, and says while he admires Nikolas’s honesty, he advises Nikolas temper his attitude. Like it or not, they’re family. Nikolas says, his late grandmother, Helena Cassadine, loved throwing that in his face, until her untimely death. Cyrus says, well, here’s hoping Nikolas’s Aunt Alexis doesn’t suffer a similar premature fate.

Alexis lets Sam into her house, and thanks her for coming. Sam says, of course (🍷). She’s always happy to help. Alexis says she thought they could have dinner afterward, and Sam says, she means take-out? Alexis says, no. Go out to a restaurant. Sit down. Have a meal. Sam says, if she’s up for it. She was thinking more of a low-key kind of night. Alexis says she doesn’t have many more nights to go out and about. She wants to go out and about, have some fresh air, and be with her family. Have an overpriced meal, with exotic spices on it. Anything she didn’t cook. Sam says the only thing she can cook is popcorn, so she knows what Alexis is getting at. Alexis says it’s good to see Sam smile. It’s all she really wants. She has so little time before she has nothing but time.

Still on the phone, Brook tells her mother that Valentin has been relatively hands-off. Baby BLQ is well taken care of, and mommy BLQ is tired of hiding in Bensonhurst. Port Charles is really where she needs to be. The place really fell apart after she left. Everybody needs to get back on track now. Speaking of which, it’s really quiet. Brook puts her shoes on, and says she’d better go. That always means trouble.

Valentin sends a text, and Carly says she needs him to focus. They have a problem to solve. Without looking up, he says she has his full attention, and she says, come on; this is serious. They have to come up with another plan to counteract Gladys’s lie about Jason. He says, if there’s any misunderstanding, he’s interested in Peter; she’s interested in Cyrus. He starts to leave, and she stops him. She says she’s interested in both of them, because they’re working together. Peter shot Franco, Gladys saw him ditch the gun, and when she found out Jason was a suspect, she ran to Cyrus. Cyrus is the one who told her to lie about Jason. He’s the one pulling Gladys’s strings. Valentin says, if Cyrus wants Jason out of the picture, Peter is just a means to an end. He tries to leave again, and she stops him again. She says Valentin wants to prove Peter is guilty, which also means exonerating Jason, and Cyrus is going to do anything he can to stop that from happening, including targeting Valentin’s family.

Sasha says she’s sorry. It’s obvious Willow and Michael were in the middle of a conversation. Willow says, it’s nothing that can’t wait. She’ll catch up with the both of them later. Sasha says she hopes Willow means that, about catching up. She misses their friendship. Willow says she does too. She promises. She leaves, and Michael says it’s good to see Sasha. He was just talking to Willow, and hadn’t expected her. She says if he and Willow had known she was coming in, she doubts they would have gotten so close.

Brook sees Willow jetting out the door, and asks if everything is okay. Willow says she just has a lot on her mind, and Brook says, they might not officially be in-laws anymore, but she knows when Willow is upset. Tell her what’s going on. Willow says she’s fine, but Brook says she doesn’t have to be a detective to see that Willow isn’t fine. She takes Willow’s hand and brings her back inside, saying, come on in. They haven’t had a chance to talk since she got back. Why don’t they go to the den… Willow says, no! Brook says, fine. Sorry. She thought they were friends, but she’s sensing Willow doesn’t agree. Willow says, it’s not Brook; it’s the den. It’s… occupied. Michael is in there with Sasha.

Michael says he’s sorry Sasha walked in. It must have been a bit jarring. (Who says that?) She says, if she didn’t know better… She wants Michael to tell her; did she walk in on a moment, or does she just have an overactive imagination? He says she wasn’t imagining things. It was a moment. His feelings for Willow aren’t as resolved as he wanted to think.

Cyrus tells Nikolas, it’s a shame the court saw fit to remand Alexis to prison, when she’s clearly emerging from the throes of a disease. He read that she only did it to protect her family. It’s an instinct that he’s sure both he and Nikolas, if not Nikolas’s mother, can identify with. Nikolas asks where he’s going with this, and Cyrus says, if Nikolas can find it in himself to bring Cyrus’s mother back safe and sound, he’ll call upon his extensive list of resources and contacts at Pentenville, and make sure Alexis stays safe and trauma-free while she’s serving her sentence. Nikolas says, let him get this straight. If he helps Cyrus get his mother back, Cyrus won’t send his people after Alexis while she’s in prison.

Alexis shows Sam the mortgage and bank records, when there’s a knock at the door. Sam asks if Alexis is ready, and Alexis says she doesn’t think she has much choice. She takes a deep breath, and opens the door. A woman is there, and Alexis says she must be Irene Morton, and asks her to come in. Alexis tells Sam that Irene is the prison consultant that Diane arranged for her. She introduces Sam as her eldest daughter. Sam says her mom wanted extra ears, not to mention Sam did a stint or two in prison herself. Irene says they have a lot of ground to cover. Going to prison is one thing; preparing to go to prison is another. Alexis says, after that, it’s smooth sailing, right? and Irene says she sees Alexis has a sense of humor – lose that. Sam says Alexis’s sense of humor is kind of who she is, and Irene says she’s not trying to change who Alexis is. She just doesn’t want Alexis to offend the wrong inmate, before she learns which jokes land, and which ones don’t. The first few days are critical in shaping the next few years.

Valentin says Carly’s concern for his family is appreciated. Imagine how different their lives would be if she’d shown half as much compassion for Nina, instead of hiding the truth about Nelle. She asks if he wants her to apologize for not giving a damn that Nina’s psycho daughter is dead, or does he want her to help him get Nina back? If that’s the case, she’ll put it on her to-do list, right under getting Jason out of prison, so she doesn’t have to go up against Cyrus and the Five Families frozen lasagna all by herself.

Chase puts the hand in an evidence bag, and Ava says, it has to be Ryan. Doc says, but Ryan’s communication is limited to blinking. For him to write this note, find the model of a severed hand, and have it delivered, is… Ava tells him, she didn’t say Ryan didn’t have help, and Chase says he’s sending an officer over to the facility to check the time logs and interview the staff. If Ryan found someone to help him, they’ll find out. Doc says he’d suggest they not focus on Ryan to the exclusion of everyone else. Ava asks if he thinks someone else would send her a hand, and he says she would know better than him. He understands that she and Nikolas have no shortage of enemies.

Irene says it’s good they’re going over the bank documents, and asks if Alexis has a financial manager, and has transferred her power of attorney. Sam says she’ll be taking on those responsibilities, and Irene asks, how is Alexis’s health? Is she in good shape? Alexis says, sure. She just ran the dishwasher, and didn’t even break a sweat… Sense of humor. Losing it. Irene says she sees Alexis hired a trainer, and got in a couple of sessions with a boxing coach. It should have been enough to teach her to defend herself. Sam asks if Irene can ease up a little. She doesn’t have to make every situation the worst case scenario. While there’s violence in prison, she doesn’t have to make it sound like it’s the inevitable. Irene says Alexis was a trial lawyer, right? Trained to lean into conflict, right? Alexis says she doesn’t shy away from it, and Irene tells Sam that her mother has habits that have served her well on the outside, but behind bars, not so much. Until she unlearns them, she needs to know how to protect herself. Because she and Alexis both know, no one can do it for her.

Cyrus tells Nikolas, Pentenville is a dangerous place. It wasn’t that long ago that someone as lethal as Ryan Chamberlain was incapacitated, and he was left little more than an empty husk. Imagine what could happen to someone who lacks that natural born killer instinct. Someone who has no friends there, no protection, and no one to turn to. It doesn’t have to be that way for Alexis. Laura says Cyrus is using Nikolas’s love for his aunt as a weapon against him. It’s called extortion. If that’s the kind of family he wants… Cyrus yells, this is the kind of family he has, startling Laura. He tells Nikolas, think it over, but don’t think too long. He’s a patient man, but he’s no saint. He leaves, and Nikolas slams the door.

Carly shoves stuff around the bar, and Valentin says, this is new. He’s never seen this side of her before. She says, pissed off? and he says, no, afraid. She’s scared. He’s not judging. Fear can be a gift; it can be useful. It’s a good motivator, and teaches us when to act. And it’s not going anywhere, so she might as well embrace it. Fear is a gift. She asks if he read that in a fortune cookie, and he says he learned it through practical application. Fear came in handy the first time he stared down the barrel of a loaded 9mm. She says, because he knew to run? but he says, no. Because he learned to shoot first.

Brook asks Willow if Michael and Sasha are making up or breaking up. Whenever she asks Michael what’s going on, he gets all cagey, and she has no idea what he’s thinking. Willow says she doesn’t understand either, and Brook says, Willow doesn’t understand where Michael stands with Sasha, or with her? Willow says she and Chase are trying to figure things out, and Brook asks, then why is she so upset that Michael is behind closed doors with Sasha? Willow says, because it’s… complicated? and Brook says she’s sure it is. The four of them have a really difficult time telling each other like it is. Willow asks if Brook is saying they should act more like her, and Brook says, holding back has never been one of her problems. When Chase told her that his fling with Sasha was a lie, she told him to come clean. She thought he heard, and came straight to Willow. Willow says he found her all right, and flashes back to her and Michael hooking up having sex making love. She says, but by then, everything had changed.

Michael tells Sasha that she knows he and Willow had the marriage annulled, but remained good friends, and Wiley’s co-parents… Sasha says, but it’s more than that. He says, for him, yeah. He doesn’t know how Willow feels. When they got married, it was just about protecting Wiley from Nelle, but the more time they spent together, the more it felt like a real marriage. She says Chase told her that Michael and Willow slept together, and Michael says, they did, but sex is only part of it. For a while, they shared a life together. Turning off those feelings isn’t as easy as signing a legal document. She tearfully says she knows. She can tell. She saw it just now. The way he looks at Willow is way used to look at her. But not anymore.

Michael says Sasha makes it sound like he doesn’t love her, but she says she knows he still does. That’s what makes this so hard. When she was in the hospital, after her overdose, when she woke up, he was there. She knows he would stick by her forever if thought it was the right thing to do. But the real question is, does he want to? He says, it’s not just him. It’s Sasha too. Does she know what she wants?

On the phone, Carly says Diane needs to arrange a visit for her with Jason… She can’t tell Diane what it’s about. Call in a favor, or pressure someone. Do what it takes, but she needs to see Jason immediately. Cyrus pops out of nowhere, because he doesn’t have a real job, and says perhaps he can be of service.

Nikolas tells Laura, Cyrus threatening him; how did they get here? She says, it started when Jason took Cyrus’s mother in an effort to keep the peace. He asks if she calls this peace. Cyrus threatening to go after Alexis while she’s trapped in prison. She says, this is how drug lords operate. They use innocent people to get what they want. He says he understands Cyrus. What he doesn’t get is her. Cyrus came to her for help finding his mother. Why didn’t she do something? She says she doesn’t negotiate with terrorists, and he says, maybe she should start.

Irene says she did enough research on Alexis to know she’s progressive, but prison is no place to break down barriers. Sam excuses herself, and goes over to the laptop. Alexis asks Irene if they can have a moment, and Irene says, sure; she’ll take a smoke break. She goes outside, and Alexis goes over to Sam, who asks her where the insurance papers are. Alexis says, they’re around somewhere, but maybe she should rethink this. Sam says, Alexis going to prison? Let’s. She let Alexis plead guilty. She should have fought for her. Alexis says, it wasn’t Sam’s decision to make; it was hers. Sam says she thinks Alexis chose the wrong one.

Brook says, maybe she should have been more judicious in her advice giving, but Willow says, actually, she’s grateful. Brook says, for what? and Willow says, the way Brook looks out for Chase. Brook says, he means well, but let’s be real, he needs someone to check his work. Willow says, pretty soon, Brook will have her hands full. She won’t have time to keep an eye on Chase. Brook says, they’re Quartermaines. That’s what nannies are for. Willow says she thinks Brook might change her tune once she holds her baby. The doorbell rings, and Brook gets up to answer it, saying, no sacrifices for her. She intends to have it all. She opens the door, and says, parenting’s not going to make a dent in her lifestyle. Valentin is there, and says he begs to differ.

Sasha says, since she and Michael decided to try again, they went out of their way not to set expectation or making any commitments. He says, they’ve been trying, and she says, have they though? Have they seized every opportunity to grow their relationship, or even spend much time together? He says, no, they haven’t done those things, and she says she’s not judging, but why does he think that is? Are they going slow to keep the pressure off? Michael says, you go fast because you can’t wait for the next part. You spend time together, and feels good, and want more of it. He asks if she thinks they’re going slow because they’re waiting for their old feelings come back, and she says she thinks so, but if they haven’t by now… He shakes his head, and says, maybe they’re gone.

Chase says Doc knows how to reach him if he gets an update on his brother’s condition, and if Ava can think of anyone else who could have sent this, let him know. He leaves, and Ava gives Doc a painting wrapped in paper. She says, here’s his legacy from Franco. He thanks her, and suggests she lock up, and he can give her a ride to the pier. He can wait until she gets on the launch safely. She doesn’t say anything, and he says, Ava? She says, he was right. She and Nikolas do have their share of enemies. He says that’s why he’d like to make sure she gets on the launch all right. She says, that’s kind of him, but she still has work to do, and he says he really doesn’t feel comfortable leaving her alone. She says she’ll be fine. Besides, she never goes anywhere without protection. She shows him that she has a gun in her purse.

Through her tears, Sasha says when she decided to come there today, this is not what she expected to happen. He says, him neither, and she says, at least they’ve been honest with each other. He asks, how is it possible for two people to understand each other better than they ever have, and still, they need to break up?

Valentin says he and Brook need to talk, and Brook says she was talking to Willow. She starts to shut the door, but Valentin blocks it with his foot, and says, this can’t wait. They need to discuss the private security detail he’s hired to protect her and the baby. Willow asks why Brook would need security, and he tells her, calm down. It’s precautionary. Brook asks, why? She has nothing to be afraid of, and he says, they start tomorrow, and it would be useful to everyone if she just does as instructed. Brook says she doesn’t take orders from him, but he says he’s just doing what’s best the safety of her and the baby. She tells Willow, do you believe this guy? Just so he knows, she’s not some delicate flower. She’s perfectly capable of taking care of herself. She doesn’t need two bodyguards on either side of her. She wonders where her phone is; she wants to call her dad. She strides to the den, and trips, falling flat on her face. Willow and Valentin freak out.

Carly says she’ll call Diane back. She turns to Cyrus, and he says, as he’s sure she’s aware, he’s intimately familiar with Pentenville. If she’d like to visit Jason, he’d be happy to make a call on her behalf. She says she doesn’t want anything from him, and he says, what about Jason? He’s sure Jason would appreciate the visit. She says, Jason can take care of himself, and Cyrus says he’s sure she’s right. She and Jason are nothing if not survivors. Though Jason’s ability to support her is limited now that he’s incarcerated. Fortunately, there is an easy fix. Once his mother is returned to him, Carly’s best friend could be on his way back to her. Carly says, she has no doubt Jason is coming home, but who knows when Florence will?

Laura tells Nikolas, no matter what Cyrus thinks, she doesn’t have the power to return his mother to him. Even if she did, she’s not sure she would. Cyrus’s mother is safe, and the shooting has stopped. Nikolas says, only because he hasn’t found the right approach, and he has with Alexis. She says, and with him. He’s not actually considering working for this man, is he? He says, if he can find a way to return Cyrus’s mother, Cyrus will have no reason to go after Alexis. She says, it’s not just about Alexis’s well-being. Cyrus will bring in anyone he thinks is useful. Who’s next? Ava? Avery? Spencer? What happens to the town when Cyrus’s mother is returned? The violence that will ensue. He says she let Cyrus drag them into a war that’s not theirs to fight. Let the police sort it out. Better yet, let Cyrus and Jason kill each other. Maybe then there will be peace in Port Charles. He starts leave, and she tells him, don’t act out of fear. Don’t give in to Cyrus. He says, what becomes of Alexis if he doesn’t? He can’t have that on his conscience.

Alexis goes outside, and tells Irene, it’s getting tense in there. This is going to be really difficult. Irene says Sam will make a good advocate for her. She offers Alexis a cigarette, but Alexis says she doesn’t smoke. Irene says, good. Don’t start, but always keep them handy. Smokes are a useful commodity when the commissary accounts max out or run out. Alexis says, good tip, and Irene says, sometimes these meetings go down easier with drink. Alexis says she doesn’t drink, but she thinks Irene knew that already. Irene says she knows Alexis is newly sober. Alcohol isn’t supposed to be available in prison, but it’s easier to get than you’d think. Alexis needs to be prepared. Alexis says she appreciates the information. It’s bleak, but it’s good to be prepared. She asks if Irene minds if she asks a personal question, and Irene says, go for it. Alexis asks how Irene got in this line of work, and Irene says she shot her husband three times. He lived, unfortunately. Alexis says Irene doesn’t have to answer, but does she mind telling Alexis why? Irene says, because after he was done hitting her one night, he said the next time he saw streaks on the mirror, he’d kill her, and she was fresh out of glass cleaner. Alexis says she’s sorry, and Irene says, when she was on the inside, she met a lot of women who didn’t have the tools to survive, so she started helping them. She had a purpose. Helping them helped her get from one day to the next. Her advice, if Alexis wants to live through this – not just survive, but actually live – find something to do. Do something. Three years of doing nothing is a long time. Find a purpose, and carry it out. Alexis asks if Irene is ready to go back inside, and Irene says they’ll finish tomorrow. Alexis needs her daughter right now, and Sam needs her.

Doc gets home, and Laura says, thank God he’s home. He says, why? What happened? She hugs him, and says, Cyrus showed up. She thinks he was watching the house, and knew she was there alone. He says she’s safe now, and she says, then Nikolas showed up, and Cyrus is trying to pull Nikolas into his game, but Nikolas has no idea what he’s getting himself into. Doc says, something strange happened at the gallery as well. He thinks somebody is messing with Ava’s head. She says, what somebody? But he says he’s not sure. She says, this could be the beginning. Cyrus threatened her, and said if blood started to run in the streets, it would be on her hands.

Cyrus says he’d hoped Carly would be more reasonable than Jason, but clearly not. Oh well, her loss. She says, giving up so easy? and he says she’s not the only game in town. She says she’s not afraid him, and he asks why she should be? He had issues with her husband. Now that he’s dead – may be rest in peace – and Jason is in Pentenville, she’s free of the violence that surrounded them. She and her children can sleep easy at night, knowing she’s no longer threatened. He says she’s no longer a consideration, and leaves.

Ava is working on her laptop, when she hears someone come into the gallery through the back door. She reaches for her gun, and hides behind a partition. Nikolas calls out to Ava, and she quickly puts the gun back in her purse. She says he won’t believe the bizarre turn her afternoon took. He says his day wasn’t pleasant either. They’re in trouble. She says she knows, and they both say, you go first, in tandem. Ava says, go ahead, and he says, it’s his aunt… Alexis.

Alexis comes back in, and Sam asks where Irene is. Alexis says, she left for the day, and Sam apologizes for making things tense. Alexis tells her don’t do anything; the house, the car, nothing. She needs Sam to do one thing for her. When she’s in prison, she needs Sam to be okay. She doesn’t need Sam to be great or good, but needs to know Sam will manage when she’s in there. She won’t be able to get to Sam. If there’s trouble, she can’t make it better. She can survive prison, but she can’t survive that. Being helpless is something she can’t do when her children are in pain. Does Sam understand. Sam says, yeah. They’ll be okay. She promises. They hug.

Sasha tells Michael that she doesn’t know how to say goodbye to him. She gets up, and Michael says, before she goes, he needs to say, thank you. When he first found out about the affair being a lie, he was angry at her and Chase, but he was also moved. He was grateful, because who knows what would have happened if they hadn’t done what they did? The judge could have sided with Nelle, he could have given Nelle partial custody; it would have been a disaster. He didn’t have to worry about that. All he knew is, he had his son back. She smiles through her tears, and says, and he felt like he owed her another shot. He says, not her; us. Sasha says she thinks in the back of her mind, she knew that too. Maybe that’s why she hasn’t pushed harder for them. He says, three strikes, they’re out?, and she says, at least they went down swinging, and they hug.

Valentin and Willow help Brook up, and Valentin asks if she’s all right. Brook says, she has a broken heel, and she hasn’t even had the shoes a month. Valentin hands Willow his keys, and asks her to bring his car around front. Brook asks why he did that for, and he asks if she’s in any pain. She says, no, but the people at Windom’s are going to be when she gets through with them. He says he’s getting her some ice and a glass of water, and they’re out of there. She asks where they’re going, and he says, the hospital. She says she’s fine, but he says he’ll believe that when the doctor tells him. Until then, he’s not leaving her side.

Tomorrow, Violet wonders why everyone is acting funny, Britt tells Maxie that it’s time to put their plan in motion, and Cyrus tells someone, let’s focus on what we can do for one another.

🍸 Tonight’s guests on Overserved were Iggy Azalea and my favorite drag queen of all time, Trixie Mattel (sorry, RuPaul). The theme was Diva Tea, and LVP prepared a proper British tea for her guests, who were joined by Pandora, husband Jason, of course Ken, and precious Giggy (!) who was still with us at the time. Iggy and Trixie already knew each other pretty well, Trixie explaining that drag queens and female rap artists have lashes and wigs in common. But who knew Iggy was so funny? When LVP said she’d moved there from England, Iggy said she wasn’t sure if Lisa had moved there from the UK, or she just got rich and acquired the accent. They played a game of croquet while holding giant drinks, the twist of the game being if they spilled anything, they had to take a drink. When they sat down for tea, Trixie admitted she’d never been to one, and when she went to the UK, she went to Starbuck’s. Trixie also brought her autoharp and played beautifully, one of her many talents. They played the Get Pumped question game, and LVP brought out her RHOBH diamond, allowing her guests to hold it, and give some taglines. Lisa summed it up at the end, saying, this is the best sh*t ever. I love this show.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

🏥 Apparently, that was the entire episode yesterday. The rerun thing must have been stuck on the ending to throw off the soap police looking to remove the videos. So here it is again, along with tomorrow’s preview.

General Hospital

Taggert wakes to see Jason in the cell across from him, and says he didn’t realize he had a roommate. He asks what Jason did this time.

Britt looks at her phone, and says, what the hell? We see an Invader headline that says, Morgan Arrested for Murder.

Olivia is praying the rosary at the hospital, when Sam brings her coffee. Sam says she’s had worse from the vending machine, but Olivia says the caffeine won’t do her nerves much good. Sam says Olivia has been up all night, and Olivia says, so has she. She guesses she’s just going to be worried about Dante for the rest of her life. Going after Peter with a gun; Dante never would have done it if he was in his right mind. Sam says that’s why she brought Dante to see Doc. Doc will make Dante better, and he can move on. Got it? Olivia says, got it.

Dante tells Anna she should go, but Anna says she’s kind of wired. It’s hard to believe, but she hasn’t pulled an all-nighter in some time. How’s he doing? He says, you tell me.

At Kelly’s, Sasha tells Michael that she’s glad they were able to squeeze in breakfast. She hasn’t seen him in forever. He says he’s had one fire to put out after another. Jason getting arrested last night didn’t make things any better. She asks if there’s anything she can do. Maxie told her Nina took a leave of absence, and she knows it’s technically Jax’s half of the company, but has it impacted Michael? He says, not from a business perspective, but he has to admit, Nina taking a break is the best thing for Wiley.

Sonny is sweeping the floor at the Tan-O when Nina comes in. He says he was wondering if he was going to see her again, or she was going to skip town. She says she couldn’t leave without coming by, especially since Phyllis and Lenny let her stay at their place. He asks if a good night’s sleep helped her decide what she’s going to do next, and she says, it would have, but she didn’t get much sleep last night.

On the phone, Carly says, Jason’s arraignment is coming up. How confident is Diane that she can get him off on bail?… Is she serious?… She knows Diane is going to do everything she can. She just wishes they had the name of the supposed witness. That would make all the difference.

As they walk to Kelly’s, Gladys says she’s glad Brando was able to come to breakfast. Too bad he has plans for lunch and dinner. He says, they’re not plans; they’re called work. He tells her, before they go in, they need to talk, and she asks, about what? and he says, about her being the one who got Jason arrested.

Jason tells Taggert that he’s been arrested for the murder of Franco Baldwin. Tagger asks how long Jason thinks it will take for Jason’s defense lawyer to get him out of this one, and Jason guesses they’ll find out. Taggert says, if history is any indication, Jason will see the light of day before he does.

Martin meets Laura at the MetroCourt, and says she sounded mysterious on the phone. Does she mind telling him what the occasion is? She says she noticed it was his birthday last week. Why didn’t he say something? He says he didn’t know he was supposed to. They are siblings, but the fact is, they barely know each other. She says she was hoping they could use the occasion to change that.

Olivia tells Sam that she knows Peter is bad news, and she truly hopes to God Peter pays for his crimes, especially what he did to Drew. Sam says, her too, and Olivia says she’s just grateful it wasn’t Dante wasn’t the one to handle him. She thanks Sam for showing up when she did, and getting through to her son. She just couldn’t go through this again. Sam says Olivia doesn’t have to thank her. She did what anyone would have done. Olivia says, since Dante has been home, Sam has been a really good friend to him. She tries her best, but it seems that Sam was exactly what was needed, and she’s so grateful for that.

Anna knows it’s been difficult for Dante rehashing all that, but she thinks he and Doc made progress last night. He says he definitely feels lighter. It’s weird though, not having control like that. He just kept hearing in his head, complete the mission; kill Peter. He was going to do it. She says, he didn’t though, and he says, that’s because Sam showed up and talked to him. It was like a fog was lifted. She says, at least he knows where the fog came from now. She’s so sorry for what Dr. Kirk did to him. He says, it’s over now, and she says, yeah, it’s over. Now he can get on with the rest of his life. He wonders what that looks like.

Jason says he wants Taggert to know, whatever is going on with him, Portia and Trina are still protected. Taggert says he didn’t think anything different. A guard comes in to get Taggert for his sentencing hearing, and Taggert tells Jason that Cyrus is still walking around while Jason is behind bars. Whatever he’s doing to get out, do it fast. The guard takes Taggert out.

Gladys tells Brando, what else is there to say? She saw Jason dispose of a gun, and told the police. She still can’t believe he’s responsible for such an awful murder, and Brando says, they don’t know that Jason is. Her coming forward is causing a lot of problems for Carly. She just lost her husband. Does Gladys remember her cousin Sonny? She says, God rest his soul, and he says, there are still a lot of questions regarding Franco’s death. She says, which is why she felt it was necessary that she come forward. Is this an interrogation? He says, no, and she says all she did was give the police the information. Why does he care anyway? The last she heard, Sonny kicked him to the curb. He has a new job now, with the head of the hospital no less. If he really thinks about it, she did him a favor. He asks, how? and she says, her doing her civic duty will only endear Brando more to his employer. Now can they go in? It’s cold out here.

Michael tells Sasha, he was thinking about Wiley, and his confusion about what Nina said to him; and Willow, and how hurt she’s been. She’s just trying to protect Wiley. Sasha says Michael is trying to make everything okay, and he says it should have occurred to him to get Willow’s opinion. She is Wiley’s mother, and absolutely has a say in everything that happens to him, especially something so pivotal as, if he can see one of his grandmothers or not. Gladys and Brando come in, and Gladys says, look at this. They’ve got themselves a family reunion.

Carly tells Diane to let her know what she finds out in discovery. Cyrus walks in, and Carly says she has to call Diane back. Cyrus says, good morning, Mrs. Corinthos, and she asks what he wants. He says, just to offer his sympathies. He saw on the news that Jason was arrested. She says, a misunderstanding. His lawyer will have him out in no time. Cyrus says he certainly hopes that’s the case, for her sake. He can’t imagine how difficult this must be so soon after her husband’s passing.

Sonny says, so what kept Nina up? Thinking about that woman she talked to? He gives her some coffee, and she says, yes. That, and wondering, is it her job or fate to balance the scales? He says he doesn’t believe much in fate, and she says, wasn’t it him who said last night that it was fate that brought them together? He says, that’s just a figure of speech. He thinks we make our own choices in life. Look at him. Lenny and Phyllis took him in, and put their necks on the line, so he wants to pay them back with any job they want. She says he’s done a lot of great things for them, and fate or not, he’s been a blessing. He says he doesn’t know about that, and she asks if he ever wonders about the choices that led him there. Like what kind of person he was. He says he has no way of knowing, and she asks, if there was a way for him to know, would he want to know?

Olivia sees Dante come out, and runs to him. She says, thank God, and hugs him. She asks if he’s okay, and he says he’s good. She asks, what happened? and he asks if Anna wants to do the honors. Anna says, it turns out a faction of the WSB went rogue. They enlisted Dr. Kirk to manipulate the psychological trauma Dante had experienced to use for their own end. To eliminate Peter. Olivia says, manipulate how? and Anna says, Dr. Kirk instilled triggers in Dante that he was acting on without realizing it. Olivia says, they’re gone now? and Anna says Doc believes he removed them. Dante says they’re going to do a couple of sessions a week, and Anna says, to make sure there aren’t any hidden triggers. Sam says she’s glad he’s okay, and he says he owes her big time. Sam says he doesn’t, but Dante and Olivia say he does. He says if she hadn’t shown up, Peter would be dead. He was going to do it; there was nothing clearer in his mind. The only thing that stopped him was her. Sam says she’s glad she was there, and he says, him too. Sam’s phone dings, and she steps away. Olivia asks Anna if Dante is safe and can go home, and Anna says, absolutely. Sam looks at the Invader headline, along with a text from Molly that says, did you see this?

The guard tells Jason that Dr. Westbourne is there to see him, and she brings her medical bag into Jason’s cell. He asks what she’s doing, and she tells him to shut up. She raises her voice, and says she’s following up on the head injury he suffered last summer; the one that requires him to be seen every month. She takes out a pen light, and tells him, follow it please. He says the guard can’t hear them, and she says, what the hell is going on? He was arrested for Franco’s murder? He says he didn’t kill Franco; Peter did. She says, Peter, as in her brother? and he says, Peter framed him. She says, he’s saying that like he’s telling her what he had for dinner last night. Is he forgetting how good Peter is at that? If he has, just ask her mother about her recent stint in Steinmaur. She’d be happy to give him all the details. He says he remembers, and she asks why he’s so relaxed right now. She makes sure the guard isn’t there, and says she’s been to prison. It’s no joyride. She’s sure he’ll survive, most likely, but it won’t be pleasant, for him or the people he’s leaving behind, like Carly and his kids. He tells her, just take a breath, and she says, no. He says, she doesn’t want to breathe? and she says, he doesn’t get to calm her down. She faked her way in there with this check-up thing. It’s her job to take care of him. He says, okay.

Sonny says, some days finding out who he is, is all he thinks about, and Nina asks, what about the other days? He says, he’s not sure he wants to find out the answer. It’s good there, and who knows? It might be the start of something big. Phyllis comes in, and says she didn’t expect to see Nina this early. Nina says she got a jump on the day, and Phyllis says, so this is goodbye? Nina says, yeah. She thinks it’s time they all got on with their lives.

Gladys hugs Michael, and says, it’s so good to see him again. She was so sorry to hear about his father. Brando made it clear she wasn’t welcome at Dev’s memorial, so she figured it was the same with Sonny’s, and Lord knows, she doesn’t want to upset Michael’s mother. Michael says, it’s very generous of her, and Sasha quietly asks if Brando told his mother not to come to his son’s funeral. He says, long story, and she says, I’ll bet. He asks if Michael has a second, and Michael says, sure. They step away, and Gladys says she and Sasha keep running into each other; first in Brando’s hospital room, and now here. She’s curious. How long have Sasha and Brando been… friendly?

Brando tells Michael, don’t react, just listen, and relay this information to whoever needs to know. His mother is the witness who accused Jason.

Martin tells Laura, he must confess, since his mother’s been in hiding, his birthday felt lonelier than usual this year. She takes it Jason didn’t tell Martin where he moved Florence, and Martin says he wants to keep it that way. The less he knows, the less Cyrus can pressure him into revealing it. She says, smart, but it must be difficult, and he says, right now, he would have been making plans to visit his mother for Easter. Lord, how that woman loves getting dressed up for church. Then she critiques her friends outfits. Did you see what she was wearing? Who does that woman think she is, the queen? Laura laughs, and he says, she’s something. He guesses he can’t risk visiting her this year. Laura suggests he spend the holiday with her and her family. She would have asked him sooner, but she assumed he had other relatives he wanted to spend it with… or children. He shakes his head, and she says, or a significant other? He just looks at her, and she says they really don’t know each other, do they? and he says, not yet.

Carly tells Cyrus, they both know what he can do with his condolences. Now is that all? He says, actually, no. With Jason indisposed, he’s not sure who he should be reaching out to in matters of business. Unless it’s always been her. She says, sorry? and he says, the more he gets to know her, the more he’s thinking she’s not just a passive bystander. Instead of being the grieving widow allowing Jason to run the organization, she’s been the power behind the throne. Maybe she’s the one he’s been dealing with all along. She says he mentioned business, and he says, it’s come to his attention that Jason called a meeting of the Five Families spaghetti sauce, presumably to discuss the power balance now that Sonny is gone. She says, and? and he says, and one has to worry what’s going to happen if Jason can’t make that meeting.

Phyllis says something I can’t understand, and Nina asks what she means. So apparently, I’m not the only one who needs clarity. Phyllis says, just some community issues. Nothing for Nina to worry about. Sonny says, the recession has been affecting local businesses. Add in vandalism and burglary, it’s tough. Nina asks if the repairs Phyllis has been doing aren’t an isolated incident, and Phyllis says, none of it has been serious or violent. Sonny thinks busted windows are violent, but Phyllis says, no one got hurt. It’s scaring people off, and the fewer businesses, the more people jump ship. Sonny says, it’s not good for the foot traffic at the Tan-O, and Nina says, she’s so sorry; that’s terrible. Phyllis says it’s a shame to see what’s happening to their little town, especially since it seems there’s nothing she can do about it. Sonny says, but Nina can.

Cyrus tells Carly, fear not. He plans to attend the meeting, and will be sure to communicate all is well on her end. But the other families can be unpredictable, especially if they smell blood in the water with Jason being indisposed. Carly’s phone rings, and she asks Michael, what’s up? Cyrus says, a son checking in with his mother; what a luxury. Michael says he just ran into Brando. The witness is Gladys. She asks if he’s sure, and he tells her, that’s what Brando said. There must be an angle. She thanks him, and Cyrus says, that was a quick phone call. She says, that’s what happens when people get to the point, and he asks if everything is all right. She says, it will be. It turns out Sonny’s cousin Gladys is the witness testifying against Jason. He asks if she means the nice woman he met at Mike’s funeral, and she says, yeah, and they both know Cyrus put her up to it.

Britt says, it still doesn’t feel like it’s computing, and Jason says, what? She says that he’s been arrested for something he didn’t do. Not just something – murder – and the person who did do it happens to be incredibly skilled at covering his tracks. He says he knows all this, and she says, of course (🍷) he does, because he’s Mr. Mob Guy who knows everything about everything, which is great when it comes to Jason’s territory and killing mobsters, but when it comes to Peter… She doesn’t even know how to say this. She went on the run with her father for a year, looking for any and every way out. When she tells him that Faison is a whole other level of crazy… He says, he should listen? but she says, no. Consider Peter was raised by that monster. He hated Faison’s guts, but that doesn’t change the fact that Peter learned everything Faison had to teach. All the lessons of espionage and manipulation and deceit. Does he see where she’s going with this? He says, tell him, and she says, Faison was a complete and utter psychopath who destroyed people’s lives for fun. And her brother – the person who framed Jason – learned at his knee. Maybe there needs to be a little more panic here, because life as he knows it is about to end.

Olivia tells Dante, if she’d known what that Kirk guy was doing to him in Geneva, she would have busted down the door and dragged Dante out herself. He says, and then what? and she says, none of this would have happened. Anna says, Kirk was conditioning Dante for months, and Dante says he doesn’t think there’s anything Olivia could have done. Olivia says there’s one thing she doesn’t get, and Dante says, just one thing? Olivia says, Kirk is dead. So he’s manipulating Dante from beyond the grave? Anna says, once the triggers are installed, they remain intact, so Kirk wouldn’t have to physically manipulate them. Olivia asks if Anna is sure Kirk wasn’t working with anyone else, and Anna says, there’s no evidence of that. Olivia says, at the end of the day, its done. It’s over with, and it’s all smooth sailing from here. Dante says, that’s the plan.

Martin tells Laura, he never started a family of his own, but don’t get him wrong. It’s not for lack of trying. Laura says, so he’s been there, and he says, several times. He’s paid enough alimony alone to fund a small country. After his third wife, he realized the problem just might be him. Laura says, it seems hard to believe, and he says he has a tendency to smooth talk his way out of… well, everything. He glosses over the underlying issues in the relationship. It’s funny. He just realized, in his effort to make his marriages different from his parents’ marriage, he created his own set of difficulties. She thought he got along with his parents, and he says he did, but there was tension in the house; they were always fighting about something. His father’s past transgressions… She says, or about Cyrus? Martin says he was the good son; the one they didn’t have to worry about. They were so traumatized by everything Cyrus put them through, there wasn’t much left over for him. They counted on him to take care of himself, so he did. She says she thinks she knows how he felt. From the other side, the sister she was raised with, Amy, was just the sweetest thing, but growing up, Laura was a lot. He says, it’s hard to imagine, and Laura says, Amy had to be twice as loud, and twice as gregarious just to get a little of the attention she was getting. Martin asks if she’s calling him gregarious, and she says she’s sure it was hard for Amy to live with her, just like it was hard for Martin to live with Cyrus. He says, they all have their challenges, but having people around who care about you makes those challenges a little easier to live with.

Sasha tells Gladys, Brando helped her through a rough time recently, and Gladys says she heard about Sasha’s rough time with drugs when Jackie interviewed her on GMA3. Sasha says, fortunately, she got the help she needed, in large part because of Gladys’s son. Gladys says, mm-hmm, and Brando and Michael come back in. Brando says he hopes they weren’t too long, and Gladys says they were just catching up. She suggests they grab themselves a table; she’s famished. Michael and Sasha go back to their table, and Sasha asks if everything is okay.

Cyrus says he doesn’t know what Carly is talking about. He barely knows this Gladys woman. She says, it all makes sense. He saw Jason was being brought in for questioning, and saw an opportunity. That’s why he’s there, going on and on about the Five Families salad dressing. He wanted her to know what was going on, so he could make her an offer she can’t refuse.

Britt says she and Jason were supposed to take down Cyrus together. What does he care if he goes to prison, and she’s left holding the bag? Don’t worry about her. She’s just risking her career, and life probably, while he’s safe and sound behind bars. He notices her hand shaking, and she says she knows she said prison is hellish, but if Cyrus finds out she’s been working against him, she’s going to wish she was in Pentenville. He takes her hand, and says she’s not as selfish as she wants people to think. She says, try her, and the guard comes back, saying, time to finish up. Jason has another visitor. It’s Sam.

Sonny says, Nina writes for a magazine, right? and she says she does. He asks why she doesn’t write an article on Nixon Falls. Tell people what’s going on there, and people will come there and spend money; it will tide people over. Phyllis says, it’s a wonderful idea, and asks if Nina thinks it’s possible. Nina says she’d love to help, but Crimson is a fashion magazine. He asks if she only writes about clothes, and not human interest, and she says, sometimes they do. He asks, what’s the problem? and she says she’s on a leave of absence. She has communication with her team, but the second in command is running the day to day business. She doesn’t think it would be appropriate for her to overrule their decisions, unless she was ready to go back to work. Phyllis says, of course (🍷). She completely understands. Nina’s been through a lot, and deserves some time off. She’ll grab Nina some water for her ride. Nina says, no, but Phyllis says, don’t be silly. They have plenty of bottles in the back. She leaves, and Sonny looks at Nina. Nina says, what? and he says he thinks she’s making a mistake.

Brook says Jason seems good; no lingering affects from the trauma. She leaves, and the guard locks the cell. He leaves, and Sam says, Molly told her Jason was arrested. She wanted to make sure everything was all right. He says he appreciates her checking up on him; he’s okay. She asks if he has a plan, and he says they’re working on it. She says she knows Peter killed Franco, and he says, but Peter is framing him, and they all know how good he is at that. Getting out of there isn’t going to be easy. Britt listens in.

Cyrus says, maybe Gladys’s eyesight isn’t what it used to be. She says she saw Jason with the gun used to kill Franco. Carly says, that’s right, and he says, perhaps on further reflection, she’ll realize she couldn’t possibly have seen Jason dispose of the weapon. Wouldn’t it be a relief if she were to suddenly recant her story? Just as it would be a relief if his mother was returned to him. Are they understanding each other? She says she thinks they do, and he says he looks forward to hearing from her.

Gladys says Sasha and Brando seem close, and he says, they’re just friends. She asks if that’s why he keeps stealing looks in Sasha’s direction. She’ll just say this. Does he think it’s wise to get involved with someone else in recovery? She thought that was a big no-no.

On the phone, Michael tells Willow where to find Wiley’s toy. He knows how cranky Wiley gets without Mr. Trunks. Sasha says, Mr. Trunks? and he says, it’s Wiley’s stuffed elephant, like we couldn’t guess that. She says, it doesn’t sound like Willow is holding a grudge about Nina, and he says he thinks she’s more disappointed than angry. She’s upset that he left her out, and he shouldn’t have. She says, if anyone knows he’s looking out for Wiley, it’s Willow, so don’t beat himself up. That said, when it’s time to register Wiley for preschool, consult Willow. He says he will, and she says she does feel sorry for Nina. Does it bother him that she said that? He says, no. He feels bad for her too. That’s why he and Willow brought Wiley to Crimson in the first place. He hopes it does work out someday. She asks if that’s why Nina left town, and he says Nina had to clear her head; she needs help. He hopes she gets it.

Sonny says he’s not a publisher, but Nina is the boss, right? She can pretty much print whatever she wants. She says he’s probably right, but he heard what Phyllis said. She’s been through a lot these past few months. She needs time to heal and recover. She needs time to… He says, balance the scales? She was wondering how to make the world right when she’s been wronged. Maybe she can help some people who’ve been good to her. Phyllis dropped everything to go to New York when Nina needed her. Maybe Nina can do the same.

Olivia tells Dante, she used to think the spy life was romantic, but from where she’s standing, the WSB seems like a disaster from top to bottom. Anna says she’s in no position to disagree, but she’d like to point out Robert. He spent his whole career with the WSB, and he’s really a good person. He’s not unique. There really are some good guys in the WSB. Olivia says she’ll take Anna’s word for it. She asks if Dante is ready to go, and he says there’s a shower and a nap with his name on it. He thanks Anna, and they leave. She makes a call, saying she needs to see someone, right away.

Phyllis comes back with the water, and asks Nina if three are enough. Nina says she changed her mind. She thinks she might stay a while. Mike is right. She could probably pull a few strings and get an article written about this place. Phyllis says, really? and Nina says, the next few issues are planned already, so it might not see print for a while, but she’d like to help out any way she can. Phyllis hugs Nina, and says it means the world to her, but is Nina sure she doesn’t mind putting off her trip? Nina asks, what difference do a few days make? and Sonny says, none.

Michael tells Sasha, he thinks their impulse is to be strong, and do things on their own. They tell themselves they can do this, but sometimes they need someone to guide them. Not tell them what to do, but help them figure a way out. Sasha agrees, and says it was nearly impossible for her to show up for her first counseling session. Everyone was telling her to go, but she was so humiliated and locked inside herself, it took everything in her. She knows it’s vastly different circumstances, but maybe Nina isn’t there yet. He hopes Nina gets there, and realizes the best thing for her and Wiley is for her to deal with this. Sasha hopes Nina gets there too.

Brando says Sasha’s recovery is none of Gladys’s business, and Gladys says Sasha told her personally. He says they’re just friends, and she says that’s not what it looks like to her. He tells her, look more closely. Sasha and Michael are clearly trying to work things out. She tells him, if he says so.

The waitress brings a chocolate cake with a candle to the table, and Laura says she wanted to celebrate Martin’s birthday. He thanks her, and says he’s truly touched. She says, have at it, and he blows out the candle. Cyrus comes by, and asks what Martin wished for.

Britt tells Sam, she knows they’re not each other’s biggest fans, but they have a common goal. Jason didn’t kill Franco. Sam says, what about Peter? Britt says they both know he did it, and Sam says, then he’s more dangerous to Maxie than they thought. Britt asks what they’re going to do about it.

Carly visits Jason, who’s very popular in jail. He asks if everything is okay, and she says, it will be. She’s getting him out of there. No matter what it takes.

On Monday, Trina asks Taggert to please tell her that he’s changing his plea, Cyrus has something to celebrate too, and Peter tells Elizabeth that he wants to take responsibility for Franco’s death.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Sonny knocks on a back door and asks for Bob. He says he’s Mike, and Drummond said he had a seat at table for him. Bob tells him to come in, and introduces Tom and Dave. He asks how Sonny knows Drummond, and Sonny says Drummond handled some business for him. He tosses some money on the table, and says, this should be enough, right? Bob says, it’s a start. He hopes Sonny’s got more to lose. Sonny laughs.

Chase asks, what the hell is going on? and Finn tells Jackie, please don’t. She says she’s sorry, but she doesn’t want what happened to Anna and Peter to happen to them. One thing that doesn’t change is that she’s Chase’s mother, and she needs to make the call. Chase says, call about what? and she says he needs to know the truth… about everything. Finn says, now is not the time, and Gregory says the three of them need to discuss it first. Chase says, Hello? He’s right there. What truth does he need to know? Finn asks Chase to give them a chance to talk in private, but Chase asks Jackie, what truth are they keeping from him? Jackie says, she should have told him the truth when he was old enough to understand. Finn says, we. We should have told the truth. He hopes when the dust settles, Chase can forgive them.

While Michael is on the phone, Willow comes in. When he’s done, he asks if she’s okay. He and Wiley thought they’d see her at breakfast, and she says she had an early class. She’s sorry she ran out on him last night. He says he gets that she was upset, and she says she had time to think about it; it’s all she thought about. She knows Wiley loves her, and sees her as his mom. He was just repeating what Nina told him about Nelle. Michael says he knew it was a possibility, but was hoping Nina wouldn’t go there; that she’d realize Wiley is too young to understand. Willow says she was caught off-guard, and didn’t want Wiley to know how much she was hurt. He says she wasn’t at the gatehouse. Where did she go? She says she went to see Chase.

Jason comes into the Quartermaine mansion, and Danny runs to him, hugging him. He asks if Danny was hanging out with Rocco, and Danny says, they got hungry. He came down to get snacks. Jason says he’s a good man, and Danny asks when they’re going to hang out. He misses Jason.

On the phone, Nina says she’s sure Elizabeth will appreciate them planning Franco’s memorial service. It’s one less thing for Elizabeth to deal with. (I dunno if Elizabeth would feel that way about the memorial service. It’s kind of personal.) Nina tells them, if there’s anything she can do to help, let her know. Franco was important to her. They’ll talk later. Nina looks sad, and Valentin comes in. He asks if it’s a bad time, and she says she just found out about Franco’s death. He says he’s sorry, and he’s there in case she needs a shoulder to cry on. She thanks him, but says she’d prefer not to cry. She’s been doing that a lot lately. Give her some good news. How was Maxie and Peter’s wedding? Don’t skip any details. He says she doesn’t know; there was no wedding. She asks, what happened? and he says, Maxie learned who Peter truly is.

Anna is on the phone with Frisco, and says she knows. She’d never let Peter hurt Maxie… She knows, heartbreak is hard enough… She did only see what she wanted to, and she regrets that… She will… Frisco? She realizes Frisco has hung up, and she goes to Peter’s office. He’s at his desk, and she says she wasn’t sure if she’d find him there. He asks if she thought he would run and hide.

Anna asks if Peter can lower his guard so they can talk, and he says, that depends. She appointed herself judge, jury, and found him guilty of crimes he didn’t commit. Did she come to be executioner as well? She says she doesn’t want to kill him; she wants to give him a message… from his father.

Jason says he misses Danny too. He’s been working a lot. Is Danny making sure his sister is staying out of trouble? Danny says Scout is fine, but mom isn’t. Jason asks what he means, and Danny says, sometimes she cries in her room at night. She doesn’t think he hears, but he does. She’s crying about Jason. Please come home. Jason says he wishes he could, but Danny’s mom… It’s just not fair. They make plans as a family, and they’ve got to cancel them. Danny says he doesn’t mind, honest. Jason says he thinks Danny’s friends are going to get angry if he doesn’t bring the snacks, and Danny hugs him again. He says he loves Jason, and Jason says he loves him too.   

Willow says it hurt her to hear Wiley say she’s not his mommy, but it was very clear he didn’t know what he was saying. He says, but Nina did, and Willow says, the fact that Nina dumped her emotional baggage on that little boy… In that moment, she wanted to punch Nina, but she knew it would be a bad example for Wiley. Michael says, a very bad example, and Willow says, it’s more than just what Nina told Wiley, and what Wiley said to her about not being his real mom. Michael says, it made her think about the child she lost, and she says, you never stop grieving. One day, she’ll have to tell Wiley how he came into her life, but she hopes she can make him understand he’s not a replacement. Each of her boys holds a special place in her heart. She’ll have to find the right words to tell him. He says, it won’t be long. They’ll tell him together.

Chase asks Gregory to tell him what’s going on, and Gregory says he just found out. They intended on telling him. Chase says he’s going to lose it if Gregory doesn’t talk to him. Someone talk. Finn says, he and Jackie slept together.

Sonny says the guys are good. He didn’t know they’d give him a run for his money. Dave says he’s out, and Bob asks if Sonny wants out too, but Sonny says, not as long as he has a few dollars left. He’s in. He displays his cards.

Finn tells Chase, he’s sorry. He didn’t know how to say it. Chase says, Finn slept with his mother? How could he do that to their dad and Anna? Jackie says, it was years ago, before Chase was born. It was one time. Finn says, they slept together the night before Jackie and Gregory were married, and Jackie says, they didn’t intend to. Chase says, wow. Really. Finn says that’s why he disappeared for so long. He was angry at himself, and ashamed. Jackie says Finn wasn’t walking down the aisle to pledge his love to someone else, and Chase asks, why not break it off? She says she loved Gregory, and Finn says, it was his fault. Chase says Finn told him that he didn’t want a brother, and Finn says he didn’t know how to process it; he was afraid. Chase says, of what? and Gregory says, Jackie’s turn. Tell Chase the truth, all of it, or he will. Jackie says Chase was born a few months shy of their first wedding anniversary. She doesn’t believe it’s the case, but there’s a chance… Chase says, Finn could be his father.

Nina tells Valentin, Maxie must be a wreck. She should never have let Maxie excuse her from the wedding. She should have been there. He says she couldn’t have helped. She couldn’t have minimized Maxie’s suffering more than the rest of them. She says they were right to expose Peter’s lies. He says, Maxie had to know, didn’t she? Nina knows he feels guilty, but tells him, whatever Peter did as an adult, Valentin delivered Peter as a baby to Faison. She knows him, and knows he’ll never forgive himself. He says, never. If he’d left Peter as an innocent baby with his adoptive parents, Peter wouldn’t be the threat he is today.

Peter says Anna thinks she’s going to manipulate him by bringing up his father. Give it her best shot. She tells him that he said something in the hospital that she’ll never forget; the past is dead now, and all we have is the future. Faison said something similar to her when he returned to Port Charles. He urged her to let the past go, and plan a future with him, much as Peter is trying to do with Maxie. He says, like thousands of other people who are trying to start over. The sentiment isn’t unique. She says, Faison could no sooner let go of the past than Peter. He was chasing a fantasy that turned into a dangerous obsession. Don’t end up like his father. He has to let Maxie go.   

Bob has taken Dave’s place at the card game, and Sonny folds. Tom calls, and displays his cards. Sonny says, full house; not bad. Bob says he’s got nothing. They continue to play. Tom raises, Sonny folds, and Bob calls. Sonny says Tom is on fire, but Bob says he’s even hotter, and displays his cards. Tom says he’s out, and Bob asks what about Sonny? Is he feeling confident, or is he cashing in? Sonny says, call him crazy, but he’s feeling confident. Bob says, his kind of guy. They play some more, and Bob says Sonny is running low on chips. Sonny says, he was saving something for a rainy day, but maybe he’ll make enough for a filet mignon instead of a hamburger tonight. Bob says, you never know, and Sonny puts the rest in the pot. They keep playing, and Sonny has a lot of chips now. Bob pushes his chips forward, and says he’s all in. Sonny takes another card, and puts his chips in. He calls, and Bob says, four of a kind. He starts to reach for the chips, but Sonny guesses it’s his turn. He displays his cards, and says, a royal flush. You don’t see this too often. Tom and Dave leave, saying they’ll see him around. Bob asks what kind of a game Sonny is playing. The kind where he acts dumb, and makes Bob out to be a fool. Sonny says, it’s a game, Bob. Sometimes Lady Luck is with you; sometimes she’s in somebody else’s lap. Bob says he doesn’t think so, and stands up. He doesn’t think Lady Luck has anything to do with this at all.

Valentin tells Nina, he turned Peter over to Faison, which means all of Peter’s crimes can be directly linked to him. She says he can’t hold himself solely responsible. He did what he could. He befriended Peter as a little boy, and tried to ward off Faison’s influence. He says, it was too little too late. Peter was already on the path to ruin. Peter followed Faison’s example, working closely with Valentin’s mother, Helena Cassadine, planning the kidnapping of Jason, plotting Drew’s death… Nina says, Valentin loves Peter. When we love someone, we want to believe the best in them. He needs to focus on the good that came out of it. He stopped Maxie from marrying Peter. He protected her. He says he and Anna had hoped Peter would be brought to justice, and she says she thought he’d said it would be impossible to prove. There wasn’t enough evidence to convict Peter of any crimes. He says, it’s highly unlikely that Peter will be in custody any time soon, but the longer he’s free, the more danger Peter is in. He’s a target for anyone who wants revenge.

Jason walks into the living room, seeing Michael and Willow. He says, sorry, but Willow says, no problem. It’s Wiley’s nap time anyway. She gets up, and Jason says if she sees Danny in the kitchen, make sure he’s getting snacks for three, not thirty, and she says she’s on it. She thanks Michael, and leaves. Michael asks what’s on Jason’s mind, and Jason says he had to give Monica bad news, and asks Michael to keep an eye on her. Michael asks if it’s something he should know, and Jason says, of course (🍷) he’s denying it, but Peter admitted he’s responsible for Drew’s death. Michael asks if it was confirmed that Drew’s plane was sabotaged, and Jason says, yeah. Michael asks how Monica took it, and Jason says, she’s calm on the surface, but he knows she’s hurting. She was close to Drew, and worked to get Drew in the family. Michael asks, how about Maxie; is she safe? Jason says he doesn’t think Peter would hurt Maxie physically, but the emotional damage has been done.

Anna says she gets that Peter is angry at her, but he has to think of Maxie, and do what’s best for her. He says he does; every moment of every day. The difference is, he knows he’s not chasing a woman who lied and conned her way into his head like Anna did his father. Anna says she didn’t do that, and he says they all know the obsession Faison had with her, but she’s as much of a liar as he was. Who’s to say she wasn’t obsessed with him? She says, that’s not true, and he says she lied about his mother. She was very good at it too. Let’s say she’s right. Faison did everything in his power to coerce Anna to be with him. Maxie was with Peter by choice. She embraced him with an open heart, of her own free will. Anna says, then he needs to reciprocate that love, and do what’s best for Maxie and the baby. He says, confess? Turn himself in? He’d spend the rest of his life in prison. He’d lose Maxie. She says he already has, and he asks if she’s looked in the mirror. She’s so concerned with him ending up like Faison, when she and Faison are one in the same.

Jackie tells Chase, we don’t know for certain, and he says, we? Finn was in on this? He knew he could be Chase’s father? Jackie says she told Finn that Gregory was his father. Period. No room for doubt. Chase asks, when? and she says when Chase was year old, and Finn paid them a visit. He had his suspicions, but she put them to rest. Chase says she’s lying; they didn’t know for sure. She says she knows in her heart that Chase is her and Gregory’s child. Chase says, and Finn believed her? Finn is suspicious of everyone. There’s no way he can see Finn letting this go… but he didn’t. He may have waited a bunch of years, but the DNA test he didn’t want to talk about, the lab results were about him, weren’t they?

Elijah walks in the Tan-O, and Lenny thanks him for coming. Elijah says he brought the contracts. The quicker it’s done, the quicker they can move on. They’ve both been nothing but good to him, and as difficult as it seems, it will work out for them in the long run. Sonny comes in, looking a little disheveled, and Phyllis asks, what happened? but he says he’s fine. He asks if everything is okay, and she says, it will be. Lenny says they decided to sell the Tan-O, and Phyllis says, Elijah brought the contracts. Elijah says they just need signatures, and Sonny says he’s sure they won’t mind waiting. There’s something that needs to be settled.

Elijah says, wait? This is important. Sonny says, so is this. It’s about time he paid his tab. He puts a stack of cash on the table, and says he hasn’t paid them a dime. There’s extra for the incredible meals Phyllis made for him. Lenny asks, what’s this? and Phyllis says, they couldn’t possibly… Sonny says, possibly what? Let him pay his bill? Phyllis says they had no intention of charging him, and even they did, this is far more then food and the room is worth. Sonny says he’s also paying the next six months in advance. He puts down another stack of bills, and Phyllis says, it’s very generous. Sonny says he loves the Tan-O, and he loves his landlords. He wants to make arrangements for the future. Phyllis says, but… and Lenny says, but nothing. Sonny has himself a deal. He’s sorry to waste Elijah’s time, but the Tan-O’s not for sale after all. Elijah says if it’s what they want, he’s happy for them. He tells Sonny, now he has the place locked down for the next six months. Elijah is curious though. Where did he get the money?   

Anna tells Peter, she’s nothing like Faison, and he says, she lies, she manipulates, she tries to pressure people into being who she wants them to be. She made her high standards and expectations clear, but for the record, he doesn’t want to be perfect. She says, he wants to be loved, but he’s incapable of that until he faces the truth about himself. He says he has, and what he realized is being good Peter was exhausting. He should have known Alex was his mother all along because she knew him; she knew his soul. She says Alex gave him up; she rejected him. He says, she accepted him. They spoke the same language. For the first time, he could relax and be himself, instead of jumping through hoops of fire to impress Anna. Admit it. Anna knew he wasn’t her son, and deep down, she was relieved.

Jason tells Michael, he wanted to be the one to tell Monica about Drew, and he wanted to see Michael to find out if he had any questions about Franco. Michael asks, why would he have questions about Franco? and Jason says he thought Michael’s mom would have told him. Michael says she left a message asking him to call back, but he hasn’t. What’s going on? Jason says, Franco is dead. Somebody shot him. Michael said he’d come to accept Franco’s freedom, and that he’d changed, although he applauded Franco’s death a thousand times. Willow comes back, and asks, what’s wrong? Michael says, Franco Baldwin was killed, and Jason says he was the one who found Franco. Michael asks if Jason has any idea who’s responsible, but Jason says, not yet. Michael assumes the list of suspects is pretty long, and Jason says, the cops are looking into it. Hopefully, they find who’s responsible so Elizabeth and her sons can have closure. Michael asks, since when does Jason have faith in the cops? and Jason tells him, he said hopefully. If not, someone else will have to find the killer.

Valentin tells Nina that he didn’t mean to turn this into a vent session about Peter. He’s there as her friend and wants to support her. Franco meant something to her, didn’t he? and she says he did. As Valentin knows, Franco told her that he didn’t want a family, but she did. Neither one of them would budge, so he ended up marrying Elizabeth and inherited three sons. Valentin says, and that hurt her, but she says, whatever she felt then, it doesn’t matter now. Franco loved the boys, and they brought out a warmth and kindness in him that Franco didn’t know he had. Valentin says he’s sorry Nina didn’t get the family she wanted, but she has Charlotte and Wiley. She says she has Charlotte thanks to him. Wiley, she’s not so sure. He says she was so optimistic when they talked last; what happened? She says, Carly and Michael decided she shouldn’t be allowed to see Wiley.   

Michael asks if Wiley enjoyed his snack, and Willow says she thinks he’s enjoying hanging out with Rocco, Leo, and Danny. They’re so sweet, playing little kid games with him. Michael says, they’re good kids, all of them, and asks if Wiley said anything else about… She says, not being his mommy? No. They’ll still have to talk to him, but she doesn’t know when it will be the right time. He says, as long as it’s them and no one else. That’s why he thinks it’s best that Nina isn’t around Wiley for a while. She says, he changed his mind? and he says, maybe Nina didn’t deliberately mean to confuse Wiley, but she did, and Willow was hurt in the process. The animosity between Nina and his mom isn’t healthy for Wiley. Willow says they already opened the door for Nina to see Wiley, and he says, that was before she brought up Nelle to Wiley without running it by them. Willow is Wiley’s mom, not Nelle. She tells him, they can’t just make what Nina said go away, which is why they’ll talk to Wiley. Michael says, that’s why he thinks it’s best to create some distance between Nina and Wiley. He already told Nina that she can’t see him right now. Willow asks if they shouldn’t have made that decision together.

Valentin says Nina told Wiley that Willow’s not his real mommy? No wonder Michael and Carly are upset. Nina says, the thing is, she actually thinks Willow is a wonderful mom. She loves Wiley, but Wiley’s relationship to Nelle was going to come sooner or later. She was just acting responsibly; being honest. She didn’t mean to hurt Willow. He says, they’re talking about Miss Tate, Charlotte’s elementary school teacher. She’s sweet and pretty enough, but she does get a bit… Nina says, Willow did get angry, which got Michael angry, and Carly was furious. The second Willow and Michael left the room, Carly jumped down her throat. He says, Carly was probably still upset about what happened at Sonny’s funeral, and Nina says, it didn’t help. He says Nina came to him when she learned about Carly’s involvement in Nelle’s death, and asked him to help. Say the word. Whatever she wants to do, he’s in. She thanks him, and says she appreciates it, but she thinks she’s going to put the brakes on the scheming. There’s too little gain for too much pain. He says, if she changes her mind… She says, just say the word. He nods, she smiles, and he leaves.

Finn says, the DNA test was about Chase, but the last thing he wanted to do was hurt Chase. He thought he could do it without tearing Chase’s life apart. When he was shot, and told he might not make it, he was lying in the hospital bed thinking about Violet and Chase, and in that moment, he realized how important the truth is. Chase asks if Jackie knew about the test, and Jackie says she did. She asked Finn, begged him, not to pick up the results. Chase wonders why, since she just came barging in, insisting he know the truth. What changed? Gregory says he found out. He overheard her and Finn speaking, and they decided he should know. Since he knew… Chase says he had to know. He tells Gregory that he’s so sorry, and Gregory says Chase has nothing to apologize for. Now that it’s all out on the table, they don’t have to keep the secret of Chase’s paternity hidden any longer. Finn says they can go to GH right now and get the results, and Chase says, then what? Deal with the fallout? There’s no happy ending. Either Gregory is his biological father, and they blew up two relationships for absolutely no reason, or he and Gregory have to wrap their heads around a reality that he can’t begin to grasp. If Finn wants results, he can go. The door is right there. Get out. He doesn’t want them there. Go! Finn and Jackie leave, and Chase hugs Gregory and cries.

Sonny asks what it matters where he got the money, and Elijah tells him, he’s just saying. Here he is, a drifter, with no memory or profession they know of; not even a last name. How did he come up with that much cash? Sonny says he can’t remember, but what he does know is, Lenny and Phyllis don’t have to sell the place they love. Elijah says, it’s their decision, but if they want to put Mike’s money to another use, or even give it back to him, the offer still stands. Sonny says, the Tan-O isn’t just a place of business. It’s their home, their dream. They put themselves into it 100% and made it what it is – something lasting. He knows the world is changing, but things don’t change that bring you happiness and stability. He thinks that’s a good thing. Phyllis thanks him, and they hug. Sonny says, aw, come on.

Anna tells Peter, she wasn’t relieved when she found out Alex was his mother. She felt sad for him. She shouldn’t have lied, but she was trying to spare him. He says, aren’t they the noble ones, her and Valentin? Smiling at him while they stabbed him in the back. Anna says they didn’t mean to hurt him, and he says, but they did. Anna killed his mother before he had a chance to know her. Anna says she didn’t have a choice. It was Alex’s life or hers. Peter says, it should have been hers.

Willow says she and Michael had so many conversations about parenting as a team. It’s a pretty big decision to tell Nina she can’t see him. He says Willow left the house because she was upset, and she had a right to be. He realized Nina wasn’t in the right headspace to see Wiley, which is basically what he told Nina, but Willow is right; they should have talked it over. She says she gets that he did what he thought was best in the moment. Face it. He was Wiley’s sole legal parent, and he’s not used to checking with her. He says he wants to. She’s as much Wiley’s mother as he is Wiley’s father. He takes her hand and says, they’re in this together.

On the phone, Nina tells someone that she’d like to talk more about her grandson. How soon can they get there?

Chase asks Gregory if he was wrong to be high and mighty. He lied to the woman he loves so an innocent child could grow up in a loving family, but isn’t that what Jackie and Finn did? Gregory says he loves Chase’s mom, and knows she loved him once. She made him happy, especially when she brought Chase into their lives, but Jackie kept an essential part of herself hidden from him. He’s not ready to forgive her. Chase asks if that’s why Gregory stayed with him, and Gregory says he stayed because Chase might need him. Chase says, the DNA tests don’t matter. Gregory is always going to be his father, because he’s the one who took Chase for ice cream after he lost the Little League game. Gregory taught him how to play poker, and let him win. He loved Chase with every inch of his big heart. Gregory says he always will, but they can’t pretend today didn’t happen. Things will change, and they have to be prepared for those changes.

Michael opens the door to Valentin, and asks what he wants. Valentin says he has an offer for Michael that he thinks Michael will find appealing.

Elijah says, obviously the contracts aren’t needed, so he’ll be taking off. Lenny says he’s sorry Elijah came all this way for nothing, but Elijah says, not at all. He got to see them. Congratulations. He’s glad it worked out. Elijah leaves, and Lenny says, okay. Where did Sonny get the money? Sonny says, poker, and laughs. Phyllis said, he won  that much? and Sonny says, some things, you don’t forget. They all laugh.   

Outside, Elijah takes out his phone, and makes a call. He says he needs them to find everything they can on Mike. Follow him; do whatever it takes.

Peter says, to think of the time he wasted seeking Anna’s approval, when his actual mother would have accepted him for who he is. Anna says, that’s what she’s trying to tell him. He doesn’t have to give in to the worst of himself, and he says, there she goes again, dictating her standards of how he should live, of right and wrong. He doesn’t give a damn. He’s embraced his parents’ legacy. In their own way, they did what they wanted, when they wanted, and he intends to do the same. Right now, he really wants her to pay… Jason walks in.

On Monday, Chase tells Willow that he doesn’t know if he can face it, Valentin says he has the deal of a lifetime for Michael, Finn suggests they forget about the DNA test, and Jason tells Peter, try him and find out.

General Hospital

Nowhere to be found today. I officially gave up somewhere around 9 pm. We’re two days ahead anyway, so pour yourself a cup of tea, sit back, and check out what’s happening in the world of entertainment.

General Hospital

Josslyn finds Carly crying in the living room, and hugs her.

Phyllis is surprised to find Sonny/Mike up. She says the thought he’d be asleep by now. Sonny is enthusiastically wiping the tables, and says he’s been working. It feels great. She says the tables haven’t gleamed like that since they bought them, and tells him, take it easy. He’s still recovering from a head injury. He says, that made him forget everything except how to use a gun. She says, he’s getting his energy back, but go slow. He says, doctor’s orders? and she says, stricter than that – nurse’s orders. He says he’ll just finish what he started.

Nina sees Curtis at Kelly’s, and asks if he’s waiting for his beautiful wife.

Alexis tells Olivia, she has to apologize and make amends. Olivia says, apologize for what exactly, and Alexis says she knows what. Olivia says she wants to hear Alexis say it. Now be specific. Alexis says, for sleeping with Ned, but Olivia says, that’s a load of bull, isn’t it? What the two of them did, sleeping had nothing to do with it. I love Olivia at this moment. I’m the same way. I want the person to say what they’re apologizing for, so we’re both clear on that. I also think sleeping has nothing to do with it.

Tracy tells Ned, it’s late. Why don’t they talk about it in the morning? He says, that might not be possible. That insane plot of hers to frame Alexis for drunk driving just might get her arrested. She says, and he can be grateful he can’t get arrested, for criminally poor judgment; he cheated on his wife. Don’t dare try to blame her for trying to protect him, and save yet another failed relationship.

Scotty comes by Franco’s house, and Franco asks if he wants coffee. Aiden also made some killer brownies. Scotty says had a beautiful martini going in front of the fireplace before Franco summoned him. Now does he have the remote? Scotty wants to finish watching the Burt Lancaster/Tony Curtis movie he was watching. Franco says, it’s a little bit more important. He needs Scotty to represent him. Scotty asks what Franco did now.

Elizabeth comes into the gym to find Jason punching the heavy bag. She says she called the warehouse, and they said she could find him there. He tells her that he could have come to the house, but she says she’d rather have this conversation alone. He asks if something is wrong; is it Jake? She says, it’s him. He agreed to kill Franco. Franco gave him the green light, and it was like his dream come true.

Lenny says he found this on his desk, showing Sonny some papers. What is it? Sonny says, it’s suggestions Lenny can try. They have three scotches, two vodkas, and one brand of tequila. Their customers want a choice. Lenny says their patrons like whiskey and beer. Their idea of being exotic is getting bourbon twice a year. Sonny says Lenny could give them the brand on the list, and he’ll be surprised at what he sells. Sonny can start working on it tomorrow morning. He can think up some specialty drinks. What do they think? Phyllis says he seems to know his way around a bar, and Sonny says he checked out the stock, and it just came to him. He knew how to improve it. Since they’ve done so much for him, he owes them. He says, he’ll be back, and heads upstairs. Phyllis asks Lenny what he thinks, and Lenny says he thinks he did the guy a favor by taking him in, and now the guy thinks he can take over the whole damn bar. He crumples the list.

Carly says she thought Josslyn was sleeping, and Josslyn says, so Carly could cry without anyone seeing her? She gets it. After Oscar died, Carly would see her struggling, and come up to her. She would give Josslyn a hug, or stroke her hair, just to show Josslyn that she loved her and was there for her. That meant more than anything. Carly says Josslyn is incredible, and asks Josslyn to come sit with her. She asks why Josslyn is up. What’s on her mind? Josslyn says, a million things; Sonny, Oscar’s death. It’s been hard enough to handle. She was on her way to get some water, and stopped by Avery’s room to check on her out of habit. Seeing Avery’s bed empty hit her so hard. It’s so hateful that Ava took her. She’s sad for Avery, but she’s sad for them too.

Jax joins Nina, and she asks if he doesn’t mind an impromptu double-date. He says he doesn’t, but he doesn’t want to intrude on Curtis and Jordan. They might have other plans. Curtis says he’s solo tonight, but he’ll do his charming best. They sit, and Curtis asks if there’s a special reason for their happiness. Did Nina find her daughter, or has she gotten some new information? Nina says Phyllis Caulfield came to Port Charles, and they saw each other. She’s sorry she didn’t tell him. Phyllis saw her baby girl, and confirmed Madeline arranged for an adoption. Phyllis transported her daughter to her new adoptive family. Curtis asks, where? and she says, a small town in north Florida. Phyllis handed her child to what seemed to be loving parents. Curtis says, now they have a place to start. He’ll do a deep dive into towns in north Florida. Nina says she appreciates Curtis caring, but it’s over. She decided to give up the search for her baby girl.   

Alexis tells Olivia, she needs to apologize, but hearing the sordid details won’t help. Olivia says, so they were sordid, and Alexis says, it was a mistake. She and Ned were drunk, and it was wrong on every level. They regretted it almost as soon as it happened. Olivia says, almost. That’s a very interesting measure of time. All the time before it happened that they had to reassess what was going on. The buckles unbuckling, the buttons tugged at, zippers going down, flesh exposed. Never in that time did they think to themselves, what the hell are we doing here? And after that regrettable mistake, Alexis spent the next few months looking her in the eye, pretending to be her friend.

Tracy says for the first time in Ned’s life, he actually has a relationship that’s working, and he puts it all at risk. If he can’t see that she acted out of love… He says, come on. They both know it’s not about him and his past mistake. It’s about her, and her own empty life.

Franco asks why Scotty always makes those assumptions. He didn’t do anything. Scotty says Franco’s done something, or he’d still be in his swanky penthouse. Franco says he wants to be prepared in case big, bad Franco shows up, and tries to run the show. He’s counting on Scotty representing him after he’s dead.   

Elizabeth tells Jason, Franco’s not a rabid dog that needs to be put down, and don’t act like he hasn’t wanted to. Jason says, Franco came to him, and she says, why not tell her? He says, it wasn’t his place, but she says he didn’t want to have the conversation they’re having now. Franco knew Jason wouldn’t say no, and find a valid reason to kill him once he had. What’s it going to be? What’s his criteria to kill her husband?

Phyllis tells Lenny, Mike wants to repay them, even though they owe him for his help with the attempted robbery. Lenny says, Mike knew his way around a gun, but Phyllis says they don’t know why. He could have been in law enforcement, or an enthusiast. Lenny says, and he knows about liquor. Sonny comes back, and says they need to rethink their stock. Get a bigger selection, or maybe come up with a signature cocktail. He wants to put this place on the map.

Carly tells Josslyn, Ava promised not to keep Avery away from her sisters, and Josslyn says, Ava told her the same thing when she stopped by a couple of hours ago, but she didn’t believe her. Carly asks what Ava wanted.  

Curtis says, after all Nina went through, now she’s dropping the search? Nina says her daughter is now an adult, and the searching was consuming her. She was trying to undo something from the past that was out of her control. It was holding her back from living in the now. He says he’s glad she’s happy. He never wants to be the one to bring her back to a painful place, but is she sure she wants to let it go? She says she has to think about her daughter. What if she doesn’t know she’s adopted? She can’t uproot her daughter’s life from a loving family, so she decided to let her daughter look for her, if that’s her decision. She can’t impose herself on her daughter’s life. She’s had a change of perspective, and she’s closing the chapter on the things she’s lost, and letting herself enjoy the things she’s found. She looks at Jax.

Franco says he wants Scotty to let the court know his wishes before he’s dead, and Scotty says, like a will? Franco says, kind of, but not exactly. Scotty says he doesn’t know what Franco is talking about. He must have something in his mind. Franco says he’s getting worse. He keeps hearing Peter’s voice, and now it has something to do with Drew.

Elizabeth asks what line Franco has to cross to make Jason pull the trigger. What if he screams at the coach at Jake’s basketball game? What if he paints a violent scene? What if he picks up toy a monkey and shows it to Aiden? Will that be enough? Jason says, if Franco becomes a threat, he’ll know. The better question is, will she know?   

Ned asks why Tracy is even there. She showed up on Thanksgiving, out of the blue. Why? She didn’t rush back there when Brook was in the hospital with a slashed throat. Tracy says she was in another country, and he says, now she’s in this one – away from Luke, who he imagines is galivanting who knows where. Luke won’t let her control his life, so she’s come back to control his. She says he needs help, but he says, not hers. She says she couldn’t let him destroy the only good thing he has left in his life, and it almost worked. He says, her failed attempt to frame Alexis was nearly perfect, but Olivia was too good a person to let an injustice go without speaking up. Tracy says, now Olivia has to deal with his injustice. She couldn’t fix that. What is he going to do about it?  

Olivia wonders if everyone knew, and no one had the decency to look her in the face, and tell her what happened. Alexis came into her home. She came into Olivia’s place of business, and got in her face; why? Alexis says she’s so ashamed of what she did, and Olivia says, shame? Was it shame when Alexis told her that she should be concerned about her own marriage? It felt like a warning. She told Olivia that Ned was helping her deal with her grief over Neil. It’s classic. How was Ned helping her? With special one-on-one time? In all of this, the one thing Olivia has never detected is a shred of regret, until now, when Alexis got caught.

Franco tells Scotty, if someone were to kill him, he wants the authorities to know they were doing the right thing. Scotty wonders if Franco means in self-defense, but Franco says, hopefully, before he hurts someone. Scotty says, someone is trying to kill him? Did he hire someone to kill him? Franco says, he may or may not have, and Scotty says, who? Jason? Maybe there are a lot of people who want to kill him – Scotty doesn’t know – but the only person he knows who would agree to it is Jason.

Jason asks how Elizabeth knows the tumor hasn’t already affected Franco, and she says, Franco asked Jason to kill him before he hurts someone. He’s a changed man. The old Franco wouldn’t have done that. He says, the old tumor came back, and will affect Franco in the same way, but Elizabeth says, it won’t. He asks how she knows, and she says she doesn’t need protection from her husband. He’s a good man, and his family loves him. Cameron, Aiden, and yes, Jake. Jason’s son loves Franco. How can he think of taking Franco from them?   

Josslyn tells Carly, Ava claimed she wanted to do something for Avery, and Carly says, Avery is Ava’s all-purpose excuse. Carly feels sorry that Avery lost her father, and now she’s alone without her family on that godforsaken island. Her heart breaks for Avery. Josslyn says, hers too, and Ava was definitely taking advantage. She said Avery was asking about her good luck charm, a necklace in the shape of a half-heart. She asked Josslyn to look for it. Carly asks if she found it, and Josslyn says, yeah, in Carly’s jewelry box. The only reason she gave it to Ava was for Avery, but she made Ava work for it. Carly asks, how? and Josslyn says she called Ava out for what she did to Morgan. She said she’d never forget, and Ava looked like she’d swallowed a porcupine. She hates being reminded of who she really is. She got out so fast, she left a paper trail. Should she have not given Ava the necklace? Carly says, no. It was for Avery, and she did the right thing.   

Jax tells Curtis that Nina has made peace with her decision, and Nina confirms she has. Jax’s phone rings, and he steps away. It’s Carly, and he asks if everything is okay. She says she’s at home, and needs to see him. He asks if it’s Josslyn, and she says, no, but it’s urgent. She’ll tell him when he gets there. He says he’s on his way. Nina says, Carly? and Jax says, yeah. She asks if it’s Josslyn, and he says, Josslyn is all right, but Carly needs to see him; sorry. Nina says she’ll take a car home, but Curtis says he’ll take her. Jax says he’ll call later. He leaves, and Curtis asks if this happens all the time; Carly calls and Jax drops everything. She says, it’s a recurring theme in their relationship, and Curtis says, too bad.

Phyllis asks if Sonny is wiping down the bottles, and he says he wants the barback to shine. Lenny says, it’s nice of him, and Sonny says he likes to keep busy. Lenny says he sees, and asks if Sonny isn’t tired. Sonny says he feels so good, he doesn’t even care that he doesn’t know who he is. What matters is, he’s a new man. Phyllis and Lenny look at each other.

Sonny manically cleans, and Lenny tells him, wrap it up; they’re going to bed. Sonny says he can lock up, but Lenny says, it doesn’t work that way. He has to put the money in the safe, and get it squared away. Sonny says he can do that, and Lenny says, not a chance. Sonny says he’s not a bad guy, but Lenny says, he doesn’t know that, and neither does Sonny. On the side, Lenny tells Phyllis, he said from the start, they’ve got to get rid of this guy.

Carly thanks Jax for coming, and tells him that Ava was there while she was gone. She convinced Josslyn to give her the necklace. Jax asks if Josslyn is involved now, but Carly says Josslyn doesn’t know what’s going on. They have to figure out how to get it back. Jax thinks that’s going too far, but Carly says, if Nina traces the necklace back to Nelle, she’ll figure out Nelle was her daughter, and she’s going to look for someone blame. She was the last one to see Nelle alive. Jax says Carly wasn’t to blame, but Carly says, who knows what Nina will believe? She’ll put the blame on both of them for keeping the truth from her.

Nina tells Curtis, she was concerned at first; Valentin and Ava warned her that Jax would put Carly first. They got into her head a little bit, but it’s not Carly he’s putting first; it’s Josslyn, and that’s the way it should be. He says, didn’t Jax just say Josslyn was all right? but Nina says, Carly just lost her husband. She and Jax are more than co-parents; they’re friends. Jax is Carly’s confident, and if she needs to lean on him at this critical time, Nina is fine with it. Jax loves her, and Carly can’t – she wouldn’t – get in the way.

Alexis says she doesn’t blame Olivia for being furious. She deserves every ounce of it, and she’s sorry she damaged their friendship. There’s nothing else to say, so she’ll just go. Olivia says, it came out because she was trying to help expose the lie. She threw her mother-in-law under the bus, but the joke is really on her. Ned comes in, and Alexis can’t get out of the room fast enough. Olivia refuses to look at Ned.

Alexis sees Tracy trying to go upstairs, and says, oh no you don’t. You’re not going anywhere.

Scotty tells Franco, he’s calling the police to pick up Jason for conspiracy to murder. Franco takes the phone, saying, it was his idea. Jason doesn’t deserve jail for ridding the public of a menace. Scotty says Franco’s not a menace, and Franco says, when he’s gone, Jake will need a father. Jason is a good father, but he can’t be if he’s in prison. Can’t Scotty draft some official document to exonerate him?

Elizabeth tells Jason, Franco relates to the boys, each one in a different way. Does it make him jealous that Franco stepped up to be a constant father figure? The occasional visits and sleepovers don’t stand up to nightly dinners, the homework help, and family rituals that she and Franco provide for Jake every single day. Jason says she’s talking about the life she had with Franco before the tumor, and that life doesn’t exist anymore. Geez, he meets with Britt twice, and now he thinks he’s a doctor. Jason has always bordered on a-hole for me. Along with his bestie Carly. Okay, I’ll say it. I can’t stand either one of them.

Alexis says, by her own admission, Tracy set her up. She drove Alexis’s car off the road, made sure she was asleep. put her in the driver’s seat, and called the police. Tracy says Alexis was blacked out, and Alexis says she was drunk, but not so drunk she doesn’t remember her conversation with Olivia. Olivia said something to upset her, and she said something about Olivia’s marriage. Then Tracy came up with this brilliant scheme to keep her from talking, when she wasn’t going to talk anyway, but Tracy didn’t care. She just wanted to minimize her risk, and had Alexis arrested to protect her son’s marriage, and save it.  Tracy says she did it to save Alexis.

Ned says he should have told Olivia about him and Alexis, but he didn’t know how to. Olivia still won’t look at him, and he says he never intended for it to happen, obviously. She says, they’ve been over this again and again. He ran to Alexis because she was off with Robert, and he couldn’t reach her. The funny thing is, Robert was the one who convinced her to call him, and she did. She wanted to be honest. Brook deleted the messages because she was mad, but he still assumed the worst of her. He projected on her something he would do, and went off and had revenge sex. He says, no, but she says, yes, and mommy came in to fix it, because that’s what Quartermaines do. She doesn’t know if she can stomach being part of this family anymore, let alone subject her child to them.

Elizabeth tells Jason, Franco is still himself; he’s not dangerous. And it’s possible the tumor won’t affect Franco in the same way, and there might be treatment. He hopes she’s right, and she says, does he? It’s not the first time she’s had to tell him to back off her husband. She knows how he really feels about Franco, and right now, the only person her family needs protection from is him. So she’s warning him, don’t even think about hurting Franco. If any harm comes to him, Jason is going to be sorry.  

Scotty takes his phone back from Franco, and says, enough with this crazy idea. He wants no part of it. Franco says, he’ll find another lawyer, and Scotty says be his guest; it won’t be binding. Franco says, plenty of people will do it, but he wants Scotty to do it. Please. He needs someone to support him right now. Scotty says, okay. If Franco dies by Jason’s hands, he’ll do what’s in the best interest of not just him and Jason, but everyone. Franco says, okay, everyone, and Scotty says, do him a favor; don’t die. Franco says he’s not planning on it anytime soon, and Scotty says, good. Goodbye, presumably going back to his martini and movie.

Nina says she thinks it’s time she had Curtis and Jordan over for dinner, and he says, sounds great. She says he doesn’t seem too sure. She knows Jordan has had her hands full with Cyrus. Let her know if there’s anything she can do to help him. He says, just keep being his friend, and make the most of this moment. This is the magic time, when they’re happy and getting to know more about each other. He’s got a good feeling. He tells her not to worry about Jax being dishonest like did you-know-who. Nina says, maybe she’s the one not being honest with Jax.

Jax asks what Carly proposes. Sneaking into Windymere, and stealing the necklace off a sleeping Avery? Carly tells him to lower his voice; Josslyn could hear and come downstairs. He says he doesn’t want Josslyn anywhere near this, and Carly says, Nikolas was hiding out at Jax’s house, and owes him. He can get Nikolas to do it. Jax says he’s not conning Nikolas, but Carly says, if Nina learns about this, it could damage their relationship. He asks if she doesn’t think he knows that. She’s the one who made him realize he loves Nina. He told Nina, and she loves him too. It’s the real thing. Carly says, even more reason not to break her heart, and he says, it would devastate Nina if she found out Nelle was her daughter, but the truth is going to come out; it’s inevitable. He should be the one to tell her. If she hears it from someone else, she’ll wind up thinking he’s as bad as Valentin. Carly asks him to give her more time. She’s afraid it will blow back on them in ways they can’t imagine. He says he’s the one who convinced her to stay quiet, and he owns that. She says she’ll find the necklace, and save his relationship with Nina. Trust her.  

Sonny stacks the chairs, and Lenny tells Phyllis, it seems like he’s on drugs. She says, he has no money. There’s no way he’s on drugs. Lenny says, something is wrong, and she says she’s had patients like Mike. She doesn’t know his mental history, but she thinks it’s a psychological disorder. He says, this gets better and better. Now he’s mentally ill. She says, lots of people deal with mental illness, and Lenny tells Sonny, if he doesn’t calm the heck down and go to bed, he’s going to be out. Sonny says he wanted to sweep the floor, and Lenny says, the floor can wait. It’s upstairs or outside in the cold. His choice.

Alexis tells Tracy, she’s heard a lot of spinning in her life, but this takes the cake. Tracy’s audacity in framing her for her own benefit… Tracy says she thought Alexis would choose rehab over prison. Either way, she’d hit bottom and quit drinking. If she keeps going the way she is, she’s going to implode, and take some innocent with her. Think what she wants, but Tracy tried to help her. Tracy goes upstairs.  

Ned asks Olivia not to give up on the family. Can’t they talk through it? Olivia says, not now, and he says, okay. Now is not the time, but maybe she’ll feel up to it tomorrow, or in a few days. At any rate, he’ll go, and she can stay there. She’s not sure she wants to be there now, but he says, stay tonight. Let Leo sleep. Tell him that I love him. He loves her too, and when she’s ready, if she’s ever ready, he’ll be waiting. Olivia continues to look anywhere but at Ned, and when he leaves, she sits on the couch, and sobs.

Nina tells Curtis, what she’s keeping from Jax isn’t that big. Jax thinks she’s fine with giving up the search, and she is intellectually, but emotionally, it’s hard to let go. She can’t help it. Curtis asks what she’s saying, and she fingers the necklace.

Jax says he’ll hold off on telling Nina, and give Carly one more shot at getting the necklace back. How is she going to do it? She says, the less he knows, the better, and he says, right. Then all he’ll say is, good luck and he hopes she gets it back,

Sonny tells Lenny, it’s cool. He doesn’t have to be upset. If he feels that strongly, Sonny will stop working, but don’t touch the chairs; he’ll finish in the morning. If he hasn’t told them, he just wants to say he’s grateful. He appreciates what they’ve done for him. He’s not making their lives harder; he’s going to make their lives easier. He tells Phyllis, thank you, my friend, and goes upstairs.

Jason turns out the lights in the gym. He looks really cranky as he loads his gun.

Elizabeth comes home, and Franco asks, what happened? She says she couldn’t get Jason to back off, and he says he’s glad Jason is a man of his word. She says, she’s a woman of her word. She warned Jason, and now she’s warning him. If Jason comes for him, he has to go through her first.

On Monday, Maxie has an idea, Valentin tells Jax that it makes him an accomplice, Michael asks if Willow needs more time, and Carly says someone has no idea how glad she is to see them.

I have to confess, I’ve seen nary a film from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Maybe it’s a commitment issue. But WandaVision looked fun and weird. You don’t have to be up-to-date on your Marvel history, but it doesn’t hurt. I enjoyed it regardless. And I want to get my money’s worth out of Disney Plus by watching something other than an endless loop of Hamilton.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Taggert hears someone come into the jail, and says, Trina? But it’s Portia.

On the phone, Jordan thanks someone for the update. Diane knocks on the door, and comes in with Jason, saying she thinks Jordan was expecting them. Jordan says she was expecting Jason, but she isn’t surprised. Diane asks, where else would she be when her client is being questioned by the authorities? Jordan says, when she initially asked Jason to come, Diane’s presence wasn’t necessary. Jason says, now it is? and Jordan says, that depends. Cyrus’s mother is missing. Any thoughts?

Cyrus tells Laura, if it was her mother, would I’m sure she’s fine be acceptable? Because it isn’t to him. Laura says she doesn’t give a damn. Why doesn’t he send his complaints to her daughter, and when she’s well enough to pass them on to her, then she’ll listen. He says he’s telling her for the last time, he had nothing to do with it. She says she’s sick of hearing him say that. He had everything to do with it. He killed two people, and left her daughter comatose. He says at least he’s concerned about Lulu’s welfare. She doesn’t seem to care at all about his mother’s condition. She says of course (🍷) she cares about Florence, but if Florence is with the people he says she’s with, she’s fine.

On the phone, Michael says, so instead of search and rescue, it’s search and recovery… He knows what that means. He thanks them, and says he’ll let his mother know. Willow comes in, and he tells her that she looks really good. She thanks him, and says she has dinner plans at the MetroCourt… with Chase.

Dante sits at the MetroCourt bar having a beer, one eye on Peter. Chase comes in, and says, the conquering hero returns. Welcome home, partner.

Peter makes a call, and says he’d like to speak to Dr. Arthur Cabot… He knows the doctor is in solitary, but this is an emergency medical consultation regarding a procedure he developed. Dr. Cabot is literally the only person who can answer his questions… He knows that, but there must be something… Fine. He gets it. Thanks anyway. He hangs up, and says, for absolutely nothing. He gets up, and nearly runs into Sam, who asks where he’s going in such a hurry.

Carly looks at the Christmas stockings and takes Sonny’s down. She sits on the sofa, looking at it, and sees him come in. She says, Sonny? and wakes up.

Michael says, it makes sense for Willow and Chase to figure everything out, and she says she can reschedule. With everything that’s happening with his father, if he needs her to stick around… He says, that’s okay. She should go. She asks if he’s sure, and if he’s heard anything from the authorities in New Jersey about the search. He says he has, and there’s nothing any of them can do right now.

Dante says it’s good to see Chase, and Chase says he’s glad Dante is back. Dante says, him too, and Chase says he was going to reach out, and it’s not an excuse, but he had some pretty heavy cases, and there was a lot going on in life. Dante says, sorry. He heard Chase looked after his family while he was gone. Chase says, it was an honor and a pleasure. Dante says it’s what good cops do. Chase is one of the best. He pats Chase on the shoulder, and Chase says he was sorry to hear about Lulu. Everyone at the station is pulling for her. Dante thanks him, and says, she was a fixture there. Chase says, she will be again. Soon. He tells Dante that he needs to get a table, but they should catch up some time. Dante says he doesn’t think so, but then tells Chase, he’s just kidding. Chase asks if he’s going to be in Port Charles for a while, and Dante says he is. He needs to look after his family, and  tie up some loose ends. He glances surreptitiously at Peter.

Sam tells Peter, she’d like to coordinate Maxie’s bachelorette party and his bachelor party. Peter says he’ll be in touch, but Sam says she’d like to pin down a date. The wedding is only a few weeks away. He says he knows when his wedding is, and also knows she’d be more than pleased if it didn’t happen. She says, Peter… and he says he knows she can’t stand the thought of him marrying Maxie.

Carly opens the door to Sasha, and asks her to come in. She says, Michael isn’t there, if that’s who she’s looking for. Sasha says, actually, she’s there to see Carly.

Portia says Taggert wasn’t expecting her. What surprises her is, he actually thought it was going to be Trina. He says it’s more hope than expectation, and she tells him, it’s a lot to hope for, considering how furious Trina was that he lied to her about his death. He broke her heart. Losing him… He says, she didn’t lose him; he’s right there. Portia says, she did, and that loss changed her in ways she doesn’t think Taggert fully comprehends yet. He says he’s so sorry for the hurt he caused her, and Portia. He knows how it must have felt, but that lie kept Trina alive. He can live with his daughter hating him, as long as she’s alive to do that.

Diane says, Jordan didn’t just ask her client to confess, and Jordan says she has no intention of dragging Jason through a pointless interrogation, but Cyrus came to her, saying his mother was kidnapped from Vermont, and leveling all kinds of accusations. Diane says, against Mr. Morgan? With what proof? Jordan says she has to do her due diligence regardless. Diane says, correct her if she’s wrong, but the PCPD has no jurisdiction over an incident that happened in Vermont. Jordan says, Harvard Law paid off, and Diane laughs. Jordan says, that’s exactly what she told Cyrus, but if he’s telling the truth, and his mother was moved against state lines against her will, the Feds will get involved. And none of them want that.

Cyrus asks Laura, is this the kind of caustic repartee they missed out on not growing up together? She asks, why? Does he want more? He says, what he wants, dear sister, is for her to find his mother. He knows she’s more than capable of crossing certain lines to get what she wants when she’s so motivated. For example, the night they met. She says, when she threw him in solitary. She remembers. Good times. He says, exactly. She knows how to work the system, and he also knows exactly what she’s capable of when she’s backed against the wall. David Hamilton. Theresa Carter. Rick Webber. She says if she hears anything, she’ll let him know. Now if he doesn’t mind, she has a city to run. She starts to walk away, but he grabs her arm, saying, he does mind. He minds very much. A voice yells, get your hands off of her! It’s Lesley (Laura’s mom).

Carly asks how Sasha is; is everything okay? Carly takes down the Christmas stockings, and Sasha says, it is, and a lot of it is due to Carly. She owes Carly a great big thank you, and an apology. Carly asks why Sasha owes her an apology, and Sasha says, she started going to out-patient therapy after her… overdose. Carly says, that’s very brave, but Sasha says, she doesn’t feel very brave. Carly says she’s seeking help for something that almost killed her. She’d say that’s very brave. Sasha says she only started going because Maxie threatened to kick her out of Deception, and Carly says she bets Sasha wasn’t the only one there who was strongarmed into going. Sasha says, once she started going, she learned a few things. There were people she pushed away, or worse, dismissed. People who were trying to help her when she was in a bad way, and Carly is one of them.

Sam says Peter isn’t her favorite person, and she’s sure she’s not his either, but they could put their differences aside for Maxie’s sake. He says, nothing would make him happier, if it were true, but he knows it’s not. He knows Spinelli was trying to railroad him. She says she thought Spinelli was over that, and he says, Spinelli changed his tune for the sake of Maxie and Georgie. Sam says, so has she, and Peter says he hopes that’s true. If she really cares about Maxie – she says, of course (🍷) she does – he says, then she’ll stay out of his way, and brushes past her. Dante watches.

Lesley says she doesn’t know who Cyrus thinks he is, but grabbing at women is illegal. He says she’s absolutely right; he was out of line. Laura asks what Lesley is doing there. She was going to meet Lesley in New York on the weekend, when she went to visit Lulu. Lesley says she knows, but she was thinking about how much Rocco and Charlotte need to have their family around them. So she figured a trip up north was what she needed. Laura says she’ll get Lesley settled in at her house, and Lesley says Laura hasn’t even introduced her to her assailant. He must be Cyrus Renault. Cyrus says his reputation has preceded him, and Lesley says, his reputation and his rap sheet. He says, she must be Lesley Webber, and she says Dr. Lesley Webber to him. As she’s sure he knows, she’s an emeritus member of the hospital board. They’re going to be spending time together. He says, how delightful. He’s really looking forward to spending time with the tramp who slept with his married father.

Portia tells Taggert, she doesn’t understand why he would turn himself in for falsifying evidence against Cyrus. He says, his cover was already blown. Jordan thought the safest thing was to take him off the board, keep his head down. At his arraignment, he’ll plead guilty, and get a lighter sentence. She says, he could do that, but he could also fight to get his life back.

Diane leaves, and Jason closes Jordan’s office door. He says, Cyrus was there? Jordan says, he tried pressuring her, but she shut it down. The only leverage he had over her was her secrets, and she’s fresh out. He says, congratulations, and she thanks him, admitting it feels good. She asks how things are with Cyrus on his end, and he says, it’s been handled, for now. She asks if it has anything to do with Florence Grey, and Jason doesn’t say anything. She says, dammit, Jason. She wishes he would at least say no. She says she appreciates this… alliance they’ve formed, and he says he does too. She tells him, then don’t put her in a position where she has to investigate Cyrus’s allegations against him. There’s a knock at the door, and an officer gives Jordan a big envelope. Jason asks if that’s all, and she tells him to wait. This also concerns him.

Laura tells Lesley that she doesn’t have to listen to Cyrus, but Lesley says she’s curious. Cyrus says she slept with his married father. He has to narrow it down. Laura says, mom! and Lesley says, what? She was a tramp. She probably conquered hundreds of married fathers. Cyrus says, this was a special conquest. It’s what binds them together. Lesley doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about, and he says his father was Gordon Grey. She says, oh, that married father, and Cyrus says, he passed away a long time ago. As he remembers, Lesley and his mother were friends, then Lesley betrayed her. She asks how Florence is, and he says, apparently, fine, but his sister is doing her damnedest to keep her away from him. Lesley says, sister? That would make Lulu his niece, and he just about killed her. He says he had nothing to do with what happened at The Floating Rib. Julian was the culprit. Lesley says she’s sure Julian had nothing better to do than set off a bomb in a restaurant full of people for no reason. He says, as he understands it, there’s a good chance Lulu will recover, which is more than he can say for his father, whose death Lesley set in motion when she educed him. Lesley looks at Laura.

Taggert tells Portia, he lost a year in the shadows. Not to mention the two years he lost undercover, trying to convict Cyrus. She says, he’s earned the right to his life back, and he says, except for one thing; he’s guilty. He knows Trina doesn’t want to believe it, but he planted the evidence that sent Cyrus to prison. She says, Cyrus was responsible for countless murders, and they’re going to work together to expose him for the man he truly is.

Chase meets Willow at the MetroCourt, and pulls out her chair for her. She thanks him, and he says he was in the neighborhood… of her chair. He’d convinced himself that she was going to cancel, and she says she almost did. He says he would have understood, but he’s glad she’s there. She says, she is too, and Chase says he’s really happy they’re doing this. She says, so is she.

Sasha says she’s finally come around to telling Carly, her attempt to give Sasha a swift kick in the right direction was appreciated. Carly says she’s welcome, but doesn’t owe her an apology. Sasha was struggling because of the sacrifice she made for Carly’s family, and she’ll always be indebted. Michael comes in, and Sasha says she was just leaving. Michael says it was good to see her, even if briefly. She says, her too, and Carly asks if he has news about the search. Sasha says, search? and he says, she hasn’t heard? Carly says, Sonny was in an accident, and he’s missing. The police are searching, and they’re going to find him. Michael says he heard from the New Jersey State Police, and Sonny’s status has changed. It’s gone from search and rescue to search and recovery. Carly says, but they’re still searching, right? and Michael says he doesn’t think she understands. She says she does understand. She doesn’t know what they expect to find, but what they’re going to find is Sonny, alive and well.

Sam asks if she can join Dante at the bar. She sits down, and says she noticed he’s keeping a close eye on Peter. Why? He says, apparently marrying your half-brother’s widow, the brother who was killed by their crazy father, doesn’t violate bro code. Sam says if he finds anything interesting, pass it her way. They might have aligned interests. He says, will do, and Sam orders a beer. She says, about Sonny. How’s the family holding up? He says, they’re just waiting for the official word from the search parties, but she says, it’s Sonny. If anything, they have hope. Dante guesses they’re supposed to convince themselves, but to be honest, he feels like the hope for Sonny surviving gets smaller with each passing day.

Carly tells Michael, his father has survived worse than a bridge collapse. Sonny is coming home. She says she’s making coffee, and asks if she can get him anything. He says, that’s okay, and Carly says she’ll be in the kitchen if he needs her. Sasha tells Michael, she’s so sorry, and he thanks her. She says she knows it’s a ridiculous question, but… He says, is he okay? He is for someone whose father is missing and presumed dead. Sasha asks if she can make him a drink, or does he want her to go? He says he wouldn’t mind her staying.

Willow says, he retired just like that? and Chase says, he went from the K-9 unit to a well-to-do couple, and he’s living his best life in Niagara. Even though he ruined his cake at the retirement party. He remembers how the kids went crazy when Chase brought him to the classroom, and his brother hated being upstaged. She says, the kids were excited… Why are they pretending there isn’t a giant elephant in the room? He says, they’re just talking, but she says, they didn’t come there to make small talk, and pretend things are the way they were before. So why are they? He says, it’s what he wants more than anything.

Sam tells Dante that she’s sorry, and he says, Sonny could show up, and Lulu could wake up at any moment. Forget he said anything. He should offer condolences. Sam just lost her father. She says she’s not going to pretend to grieve. The world is a better place without that man it. He says he doesn’t disagree, but there’s one person hurt by Julian being dead, their brother Leo. She says she thinks Leo is better off not knowing Julian existed. She’s glad it’s not up to her. He says, the wheels are already in motion for Ned to officially adopt Leo. It’s crazy; he just lost his father. She says, that’s all the more reason for them to step up for Leo as his brother and sister.

Lesley tells Cyrus that she has no idea what lies Gordon fed him over the years, but she never seduced anyone… Well, not him. Cyrus tells her, like she said, there were probably hundreds. Lesley says she should have been so lucky. She and Gordon had an affair. He was her professor, and should have been more conscious of the emotional differences between them in the relationship. Cyrus says, it’s fortunate she can pass it through a modern lens, and absolve herself of responsibility. Does it also hold true for his father’s decision to leave Port Charles? He convinced Cyrus’s mother to start fresh down south. She didn’t realize the exodus was at Lesley’s urging. Lesley says, on that point, he’s right, and Cyrus says, and here we are. Who knows how different their lives and destinies would have been in Port Charles. Laura says he has no one to blame but himself, and asks Lesley if she can have a moment alone with Cyrus. She’s not afraid. She wants to talk to her brother. Lesley gives them privacy, and Laura shakes her fists at him. She says she’s not about to let him use her mother as a scapegoat for his lifetime of horrible decisions. Do they understand each other? He says they do, but understand this. He’s trusted her to resolve the situation with Jason promptly. How would she feel if something happened to her mother? She says, spoken like an innocent man.

Laura finds Lesley crying, and asks if she’s okay. Lesley says, not really. Cyrus said some horrible, untrue things, but there’s one thing she can’t shake. Her recklessness when she was young is what led them down the path to the pain they’re all feeling right now. Laura holds her, and says, it’s okay.

Portia tells Taggert, neither was a good plan, and he says he’s exhausted. He just wants it over with. She says, then get a good night’s sleep. Stop thinking about himself, and think about his daughter. Be the man she thinks he is, and fight so she doesn’t lose her father a third time. Jordan comes in and say she didn’t know Portia would still be there. Portia says, Dr. Robinson, and she was just leaving. When she’s gone, Jordan asks if Taggert is okay, and he says, for a man who just got his ass handed to him by his ex, he’s not too bad. She says, Portia is good at that, and asks why he looks so wistful. He says Portia is good at calling him on his crap. That’s why they got married, and why they got divorced, and why they’re still friends. What’s the good word? She says, Cyrus no longer has a hold on the department. He says, what about TJ and Trina? and she says she’ll explain later, but for now, she does have bad news.

Carly stands in the kitchen, and tells herself, stop it. He’s coming back. Sonny’s coming back.

Peter runs into the hospital, and says he hopes the reception nurse can help him. It’s important that he contact a former staff member – Andre Maddox.

Willow says Chase let her believe he slept with her friend, and he asks if it matters that he did it to save Wiley. She says she appreciates what he did, but not being kept out of the loop. He says he had to focus on Wiley. He misses her, and wonders if she misses him too. She says, of course (🍷) she does. From the moment she left the apartment she was missing him every moment of every day for months, until… The pain they made her feel is still real, even if the betrayal wasn’t. They can’t wish it away overnight. He says, give him a chance to show her that he’s the guy she thought he was; a guy she can trust with her heart, and that their love is worth fighting for. He loves her; he never stopped. He knows in his heart and soul she loves him too. She leans in toward him…

Willow says, she can’t; sorry. Chase says he thought she wanted him to, and she says she can’t. She’s married to Michael. She wanted him to kiss her, but she has to go. He asks if she can take a second, but she says, this is too complicated right now, and runs out. Maybe not runs, but she walks really, really fast.

Sasha asks if she should check on Michael’s mom, but he says, she’s probably trying to face what happened. Or she’s doubling down on her denial. It’s best to stay out of her way. She says, it’s obvious which Carly is doing, and he says he’s afraid her not facing reality is setting her up for more pain. She says, Carly is right. Just because the authorities stopped the search and rescue, doesn’t mean Sonny won’t be alive. He says, it’s the not knowing anything that’s the worst. Hearing that it’s changed to search and recovery… Only living things need rescue. His dad is no longer someone to them, just someone they need to… She hugs him, and he thanks her. She asks if he wants some air. She’s missed the walks they used to take to the boathouse. Of course (🍷) it’s freezing. He says, a walk sounds good.

Portia comes out of the elevator, and Cyrus says, it’s good to see her. He knows she has a lot going on with discovering Trina’s father is alive and well. She says, is there something he wants to ask her? but he says he’s just sharing her good news. She says, they’re done here, and walks away.

Jordan tells Taggert, Sonny was in an accident. A bridge he was on collapsed. He says, how the hell…? and she says they’re still gathering details, but Sonny is presumed dead. He doesn’t know what to say, and she says she thought he should know. He thanks her, and says he and Sonny had a complicated history. It’s strange that someone he dedicated his life to bringing down, bent over backward to make sure he was safe. He was a complicated man. She says, he was.

Sam and Dante sit at a table. Sam says, Sonny had the bright idea for a dinner with Carly and himself, and her and Jason. Carly thought it was part of his big plan. Dante does an impression of Sonny saying, we’re all here right now for the summit, and Sam laughs. She says, she and Carly started cracking up, and realized this was part of Sonny’s plan. Dante says they’ve spent the last 20 minutes telling stories about Sonny like they’ve started his wake. Like maybe this time, he could actually be gone for good. They clink beer bottles, and say, to Sonny.

Jason goes into the house, and looks at a picture of Sonny and Carly. Carly says she didn’t hear him come in. He looks grim, and she asks if he saw Michael and Sasha. He says he didn’t, and she says she didn’t mean for them to see each other, but she’s glad they did. Sasha wanted to apologize, and she left the room to give them time alone. Jason says he was at the police station, and has an update. She says she doesn’t want to know, and he says, waiting isn’t going to change anything. They sent a search team into the wreckage from the bridge, and they didn’t find Sonny’s body, but they found this. He hands her a necklace, and she says, Sonny’s St. Christopher medal. He says, it was snagged on the wreckage. They think Sonny was pinned when the bridge collapsed, and his body was dragged down river. He knows Sonny would have gotten out if he’d gotten clear of the wreckage, but he didn’t. Carly starts to hyperventilate, then starts to cry. She says, he was arrogant, and he was selfish. They couldn’t stand each other. She doesn’t know what made them fall in love. She cries, and Jason holds her. She says, I don’t know.

In the woods, we see someone lying in the snow. We don’t see their face, but gee, think it’s Sonny?

On Monday, Chase asks if Finn can possibly relate, Carly asks if they can’t touch Cyrus, Molly wonders if she and TJ have a future, and Brando warns Jason about the Feds.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Going along with how the rest of the week has been, I missed the beginning, so here are the takeaway points. Avery told Carly that her favorite necklace was missing, and Carly reminded Avery that she’d taken it to have it fixed, but didn’t know when she’d get it back. Carly went to Pizzulo’s where Jason and Sonny were talking about Julian. Trina went to see Josslyn, who was in the kitchen where the notorious bowl of moss lives. Britt tried to call Julian at Charlie’s, and was surprised to find out he hadn’t been in all day. Willow told Michael, it was time to face the truth, and here we are…

Nikolas tells Ava, it’s okay. Back up, and tell him what happened from the beginning. She says Ryan threatened to expose Julian’s part in Wiley’s kidnapping, and Nikolas says, Julian helped? She says no one knew about it, but Nelle left a letter tying Julian to the kidnapping. That’s what Ryan was using to blackmail her into divorcing Nikolas. Julian was scared Sonny would kill him, and Jason came looking for Julian. She always knew her brother would meet a violent end, but she was scared Sonny would make him suffer. She starts to cry, and Nikolas says, that’s why she decided to kill him herself; like a mercy killing. She says she wanted it to be quick. She thinks Julian understood, and he understood he was living on borrowed time. She was about to pull the trigger, when Sonny and Jason burst in. She got distracted for a second, and Julian took the opportunity to jump. Nikolas says, from the turret. It’s an extremely hazardous fall, but she survived. Maybe Julian did too. She says Nikolas was there to save her. Julian – God help him – had no one.   

Chase approaches the reception desk, and asks Britt if he can see the toxicology report on Sasha. She asks if he has a warrant. He says he’s not investigating the patient, but needs to know about the substance they ingested. He asks her to please show him the report.

Sasha tells Nina, she didn’t OD; she had a heart attack. Nina says, at her age, that’s hardly normal, and Sasha admits she’s done a few lines to take the edge off. Nina says, Sasha would rather think she had a heart condition than own up to a drug problem? It scared her when she heard what happened. Even though she’s not Sasha’s mother, she still cares about her, and doesn’t want her to throw away her life like this. Sasha asks if Nina really cares, and Nina says Sasha has her whole life ahead of her. She needs to wake up and do better. Please? Sasha smiles, and thanks Nina, and tells her that she really does appreciate Nina’s concern.

Chase opens Sasha’s door, and says he’s sorry to interrupt, but he needs to speak to Sasha. Nina says she has to go anyway. She just wanted to see that Sasha was all right with her own eyes. If Sasha needs anything at all… Sasha says she still feels like Nina’s daughter. Anyone would be lucky to have her for a mom. Nina leaves, and Chase asks how Sasha is feeling. She says, it depends, and he says, on? She says on whether he’s there as a friend or a cop.

Michael tells Willow that he wants to start by saying how much he’s always admired her. He’s thankful Wiley has her for a mother, and like they’ve both been trying to say, they’ve always been good friends, but lately his feelings have deepened and changed. Willow says she’s been feeling the same way. She thinks they were on the verge of something new, but then they found out Chase and Sasha had lied. Michael says she told him that she didn’t regret what happened, and he flashes back to them basking in the afterglow. She says she doesn’t regret anything, and he says, neither does he. She says, but learning that Chase and Sasha never cheated changes things, doesn’t it? and Michael says, does it?

Trina says her father could be hiding, right? and Josslyn says Trina has been spending all her time clearing her dad’s name, and now she thinks he’s alive? Where is this coming from? Trina says, the more she’s been thinking about it, the more it makes sense. Maybe her dad faked his death, and recovered in secret. It sounds crazy, but she’s starting to believe him. Josslyn asks who told her that her father is still alive? and Trina says, Cyrus. 

Carly tells Sonny, Taggert is just as bullheaded as ever. She had to talk him down from going after Cyrus. He’s not going to stay in hiding much longer. Sonny says he has something to tell her too; Cyrus was just there. She asks, why? and Jason says, damage control. Sonny says, Cyrus confirmed Jason was the target, and Julian was responsible for planting the bomb. That much is true. Carly asks, why would Julian want to take Jason out? and Jason says, Cyrus told him to. Carly wonders why Julian would be taking orders from Cyrus, and Jason says Cyrus had leverage over Julian. Carly says, like what? and Sonny asks if she’s ready for this. Julian knew for months that Wiley was Michael’s son. Carly is speechless, a rarity.

Britt sees Lucas, and ask’s to speak to him. Brad told her Lucas saw him. Brad nearly died, and Lucas wouldn’t even give him the time of day. Lucas says it’s none of her concern, but she says Brad is her best friend. She didn’t expect a warm and fuzzy reconciliation, but she also didn’t expect cruelty. He says she knows what Brad did, and she says, Nelle took advantage of Brad’s grief; he wasn’t in his right mind. Lucas says, Wiley lived in a house with people who weren’t his family, and spent his first pivotal year with people who weren’t his parents. Brad watched Michael suffer for a year, and said nothing. He ultimately only looks out for himself. She says, but Brad didn’t. He pled guilty, and took all the blame. He says, Brad was the only one to blame, but she says, that’s not true.  

Chase tells Sasha, he’s a friend above all, and she says she could use one, but he seemed liked a detective when he came in. He says, maybe that’s because he’d just gotten done checking out the toxicology report. She ingested dextrose amphetamine along with the cocaine, a stimulant on top of a stimulant. Britt spoke to the lab technician, who said she’d never seen a combination like that before. Where did she get the drugs? She says, so he is interrogating her, and he says he’s trying to make sense of this situation. There’s bad stuff out there, and he’s trying to track it down. That she’s using anything makes him feel like crap. He should have seen she was struggling. Sasha tells him, don’t. He tried, and it’s her fault she was using. She’s the one who covered it up. She was coping with losing Michael, and falling down on the job at Deception. One line made her feel like she could handle anything – for the moment anyway. She’s weak. He says she’s not weak. She says she doesn’t regret lying to save Wiley. It was the right thing to do, but Chase has been hurting too, and he kept it together. He says, no, he didn’t. He told Willow the truth. He told her that he and Sasha never slept together; it was all a set-up. She asks, how could he do that?

Willow says she knows Michael stayed with Sasha all night when  she was brought into the hospital. Obviously he’s worried about her. Michael says, Willow is too, and Willow asks if he’s been back since. Have they talked? Michael says, no, and she asks, why? He says he doesn’t want to do the wrong thing. He’s so angry, he doesn’t know what would say.

Carly says, Julian knew? He kept Brad’s secret, and watched Michael suffer and said nothing? That’s what Nelle had over him. That’s why he married her. She knew. Sonny says, Julian was probably the one who kidnapped Wiley when they were at the Nurses Ball telethon. Jason says, he chloroformed Monica so he could take Wiley, and Carly says, bastard. All that talk about his love for Lucas, when he was lying to Lucas’s face, and letting him keep a baby that wasn’t his. She says, please tell her Sonny is going to make him pay, and Jason says, maybe he already did.

Carly says she knew something was up when Nelle trotted Julian out as her husband. Sonny tells her, don’t worry. Nelle is dead, and she can’t hurt them anymore. Carly says, that’s not necessarily true. There’s something she has to tell him. Something about Nelle and Nina. Jason makes a really good soap face.   

Nina meets Jax at the bistro, apologizing for being late. He tells her, it’s okay, but she seems scattered. What’s going on? She says she visited Sasha at the hospital. She’s worried about Sasha. She’s been in pain since she and Michael broke up, and has no one to talk to. Jax says, like her, and Nina says, when she brought Sasha to the penthouse, she knew Sasha was suffering and high. She wishes she could have talked to her then. Jax says he hopes Sasha realizes how lucky she is to have Nina care about her, especially after she lied. Nina says, for a time, she couldn’t even look at Sasha, she was so angry, but seeing her alone and lost, with no one to talk to makes the past unimportant. He says Nina has a generous spirit, and sees the good in people, and she says she’s champion of the underdog, or maybe president of the club. They all make mistakes, some more than others. Now that the truth is out, maybe somehow she and Sasha can find their own honest relationship. He says, if she forgave Sasha, does that mean she forgives Valentin as well?

Ava tells Nikolas, she was up all night, searching for any sign of Julian or his body. That’s why he saw her walking on the cliffs. She’d been there for hours. She’s sorry she didn’t tell him the truth. He says he doesn’t care, but he does need to understand. She and Julian were close. She let herself be blackmailed for him. What made her want to kill him? He’s not trying to making her feel bad. She’s probably better off without Julian complicating her life, but he’s family. Ava says Nikolas is her family. He’s her future. She chose him. He says he chooses her. She can trust him. She says she wants to, and wants to tell him everything, but it’s so bad… She swears she didn’t have anything to do with it. She had no idea whatsoever. He says, just tell him. What did Julian do? She says, he’s the one who planted the bomb in The Floating Rib.  

Lucas asks Britt what this is about. His family is grieving, and his cousin is comatose. His plate is full, and he has no time for her games. She says he forgot to mention his husband was almost stabbed to death. He says, ex-husband, and she says he’s so self-righteous. Brad shouldn’t have shielded him. He lost Wiley, and that’s sad. He lost Brad, and it’s ironic, since if not for Brad, he would have lost more.

Sasha asks Chase why he told Willow. Why blow it at this late date? He says he had to be honest even if it caused more pain. He had to tell Willow that he loved her. Sasha says, so he did this for himself? and he says, for everyone. (We’ll leave out the fact that originally, Sasha was the one who told him to tell Willow the truth.) She says, when did he tell Willow? and he says, the night she was brought in. She asks if he thinks Willow told Michael, and he says he assumes so. She says, maybe that’s why Michael was with her when she was unconscious. Does Chase think Michael could forgive her?

Michael tells Willow, he was just so angry at Sasha, being so self-sacrificing that she was willing to throw their relationship over for a lie. He lost her, and the lie worked. Then she turned to drugs and nearly killed herself. What were Sasha and Chase thinking, being so reckless and… Willow says, shatteringly messy, and he says, that sums it up. He can’t unload on Sasha; she’s recovering. So he hasn’t been back. Intellectually, he understands what she did for Wiley, but emotionally, he’s still angry. He doesn’t want to say anything to make things worse. She says she gets it. It blows her away that Sasha and Chase chose to manipulate them, rather than talk openly. Michael says he wants to forgive Sasha, but he doesn’t know if he can.

Willow wonders how they can fault Sasha and Chase for what they did, and Michael says, it’s how they did it. He replayed every conversation they’d had, leading up to Sasha and Chase being together. Willow says, but they weren’t; it was a lie. Michael says, but the pain was real. He questioned everything, wondering how he missed it. She says, they didn’t miss anything. There was nothing to miss. They’d made it up. Pain and hurt aside, that’s the reality, and she and Michael have to figure out what that sacrifice means to them. How they feel about themselves, and Chase and Sasha.

Sasha tells Chase, Michael stayed there all night; it has to mean something. If Michael is worried, maybe he still cares. Chase says Michael was definitely worried, and still cares, but don’t get ahead of herself. She asks if he knows something, and he flashes back to finding Michael and Willow together. He says maybe they can talk another time, and she says, about what? What does he know? Just tell her. He says, Michael and Willow’s marriage… it’s a real marriage.    

Lucas tells Britt, if she has something to say, say it. She says he knows Brad. Does he really think Brad could have kept a secret for so long all by himself? He had help, but he took the fall anyway.    

Josslyn says, Trina talked to Cyrus? She knows he’s dangerous, and shouldn’t have been anywhere near him. Trina says she doesn’t like or trust Cyrus, but when he told her that her father might be alive, something in her soul said he was telling the truth. She believes him. She remembers when she was in the hospital with her father. They were laughing, talking, and planning stuff they were going to do. She went get him some candy, and when she came back, he was gone. It doesn’t make sense. Josslyn asks if Trina thinks maybe she wants it so bad, she’s grasping at straws? and Trina says, maybe, but wouldn’t Josslyn feel the same way if it was her dad? Wouldn’t she do everything in her power to see if he was alive? She has to find out one way or another. Josslyn says, okay; Trina’s got her. She thinks they should talk to Carly and Sonny, but Trina says, absolutely not. She has to promise not to say a word.  

Nikolas says, Julian set off the bomb that left Lulu in a coma, and lying in a hospital in Manhattan? and Ava says, he said Cyrus was threatening his family, even her and Avery. He asks, why bomb The Floating Rib? and she says, to kill Jason. Cyrus said he was going to lure Jason there after hours, and all Julian had to do was drop off the bomb. Nikolas says, it was a crowded restaurant, and she says, somehow Cyrus knew Jason would be there. He says, if Julian was supposed to wait until Jason was alone, why it set off? and she tells him, Julian said Cyrus tricked him. He was supposed to call Cyrus afterward, and the call detonated the bomb. Julian knew not to trust Cyrus, but he was so desperate to save himself from Sonny, he didn’t care about all the people he put at risk. He asks why Ava hid Julian there, and she says she didn’t know the extent of the damage. She didn’t know about Lulu, but as soon as she found out, she knew she had to make a choice. Let Julian drag her down again or choose her own future. She let herself have a moment of clarity, and for the first time in her life, she listened to it. He says, and she chose him. She says, she chose him, and she’d do it again.

Michael says he doesn’t know how he feels about Sasha, and Willow thinks he owes it to himself to find out. Clearly, he still has strong feelings about her. He says, what about them? and she says, whatever they are or could be, they can’t move on until they’re both positive Chase and Sasha are really behind them. He guesses he should take the time to figure it out, after the feelings of anger and confusion are done clouding things. She says she needs to do the same. Clearly (her WOTD), she’s all over the place. At least they know one thing for sure. They’ve always been friends, and she never wants to jeopardize that. He says, it can’t and won’t happen. They’ve been through too much, but they will always be Wiley’s parents, no matter what. She says, no matter what.

Sasha asks if Chase is telling her that Michael and Willow are sleeping together, and he says, yes. They were supposed to get an annulment. Now he’s not so sure. She asks what Willow said when he told her the truth. Did she say it was too late for them? He says, she was mostly stunned. He told her that he loved her, and she had no reply. Sasha says, that’s it then. She knew they’d never recover from this. Michael and Willow will never forgive them. Chase’s phone dings, and he says, it’s Willow. She wants to see him.

Britt says she has to go, and Lucas says she can’t drop something like this on him and take off. She’s telling him Brad had an accomplice other than Nelle? She says, Brad wasn’t Nelle’s accomplice; he was her victim. He had to help. He asks why Brad would take the fall. What was in it for him? She says Lucas doesn’t get it. Everything Brad did, he did for him. Brad loves him, and knew Lucas loved his family. He’d lost Wiley, and Brad wanted him to keep the family he had left. She walks away.   

Josslyn says she certainly doesn’t want to fan the flames of tension between Cyrus and Sonny. She doesn’t understand why he’d bomb The Floating Rib. Trina says there are a lot of reasons not to tell, so please promise her. Pinky swear.

Sonny says, Nelle is Nina’s daughter? and Carly says, it all adds up. When she found out Nelle was dead, Nina felt terrible. She blamed herself for testifying against Nelle at the custody hearing. How is she going to feel when she finds out she testified against her own daughter? Jason has to admit, he didn’t see this one coming, and Sonny asks if anyone else knows. Carly says, Jax. She’s been wanting to tell Sonny, but there was so much going on, she thought it could keep. Sonny asks if Jax is threatening to tell Nina.

Nina asks Jax if he means, is she forgiving Valentin for trying to make her happy by giving her a pretend daughter when he couldn’t find her real one? She doesn’t know. It was wrong, but she understands it a little bit more now. She saw Sasha earlier, when they were saying goodbye to Lulu, and all that pain in Charlotte was in, she would have done anything to take it away. They try to comfort the ones they love, and sometimes go too far. Jax admits he’s guilty of that, and she says, of course (🍷) he is; he’s Sir Galahad. He says, not always. She’s right. Holding on to a lie only hurts the people you love. The truth is always best.

Ava tells Nikolas, she doesn’t know what to feel anymore. She betrayed her brother. She loved him very much, but all she knew was she had to do it for Nikolas, to make amends for what Julian did to his family. But that means, Nikolas is all she has left. Can he accept that? Accept them? And if he could, would that be enough for him? Nikolas says, yes, more than enough. He’s fooled around most of his life, and he’s ready to move forward, together. They’ll build a future together. She says she hopes he doesn’t regret his choice, and he says he loves her too. They kiss, and I breathe a sigh of relief, since I really like them together.

Jason asks how sure Carly is that Jax will protect her secret. If he tells Nina, who knows what else he’ll say. She says Nelle’s fall from the cliff wasn’t her fault, but he says, Nina might not see it that way. She says he cares too much about Nina to tell her that not only is Nelle dead, but Nelle was her daughter. Sonny says, he held Dev’s secret, despite a lot of pressure, and he hopes Jax keeps his mouth shut. Not that I think there won’t be more problems later.

Jax says he needs to tell Nina something, but she says he doesn’t have to. She takes it all back, everything she said about the truth and hope. It’s not that simple. The truth can be brutal, and hope is sometimes the only thing that sustains them. She was dreaming for such a long time that she’d be able to find her child, but the truth is, her daughter isn’t a child anymore. She’s a woman, and Nina prays the family who adopted her loved her and supported her, and gave her the confidence to reach her full potential. Every path to her child led to a dead end. The only thing that comforted her, was that she hoped her child had a good life, even if she doesn’t get to be a part of it. Jax says, maybe Nina’s intuition is right. Maybe it’s time to stop looking.   

Josslyn pinky swears with Trina, and swears she’ll keep the secret. Trina thanks her, and they hug. Josslyn asks what the plan is. She knows Trina has one. Train says they need to find more information – something to prove or disprove Cyrus’s claim – and she thinks she knows where to start.

There’s a knock on Sasha’s door, and Michael comes in.  

Chase goes the Quartermaine mansion and finds Willow. He says he got her text.

On Monday, Willow has something she needs to say to Chase, Violet asks who Gregory is, and Franco says he has voices in his head.

⛈ Is 2020 Over Yet…?

Here we are again, cruising into yet another weekend, or another two days into, what day is it, anyway? Regardless of which side of the week fence you sit, try to change it up a little. Even with yo-yoing restrictions, there’s no restriction on creativity. And there’s always Netflix. No Dead this weekend, due to holiday films, which look like they’re an all-weekend thing on AMC. This is a win for me, since the premiere of 90 Day Fiancé (season 8) is happening, and it looks promising. So until we meet for Monday in PC, stay safe, stay inventive, and stay true to your pinky swears.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

While my weeks are usually a blur of going from one thing to the next, this week has been a particularly demanding one. Which is my excuse for being late to the party today, but not by much. Here’s what you need to know. Molly thought Kristina should be at the intervention, but Sam nixed the idea since she’s a control freak. Diane arrived, bringing Valentin, which didn’t make Sam and Molly happy. Sonny found Dante punching the heavy bag, and Dante admitted to having Lulu on his mind. Elizabeth told Franco that she’d made an appointment with Patrick Drake for him, and said they’d be leaving next week. At The Floating Rib, Lulu told Laura that she still loved Dante, but she loved Dustin too. Laura said Dante was part of her past, and she couldn’t erase that, but she had to decide who was right for her future. Cameron and Dev went to The Rib, and Cameron told Dev that Franco’s brain tumor had returned. Julian met Cyrus at the pier, carrying the bomb in a backpack, and said he wasn’t blowing up a bar full of people. He wanted Cyrus to take the bomb back. And away we go.

Jason tells Danny, it’s all about the angles. He needs practice and skill, and to keep a cool head. He asks if Danny is getting tired, but Danny says he’s glad they’re hanging out. He thinks Grandma Alexis is acting weird. His mom tried to hide it, but he can tell she’s upset. Jason says when he sees Danny’s mom upset, his instinct is help and try to fix it. Sometimes the best way to help is to just let some know you’re there, and let the person figure it out for themselves. Danny says his mother isn’t worried about herself. She’s worried about his grandma’s drinking. 

Sam asks why Diane invited Valentin, especially tonight. Diane says her best friend has fallen off the wagon. She’d be friends with the devil himself to help get her back on. Valentin says he’s enjoying his newfound friendship, but is this about him? He thought it was about Alexis. Sam says, it’s a delicate situation. She’s not sure his presence will help. Valentin says he knows Alexis in a way they don’t, and won’t judge her, and Diane tells them, Valentin can probably get through to Alexis easier than they can. What will it be? Can they tolerate Valentin for the sake of their mother?   

Cyrus tells Julian, he has the wrong idea. No savvy businessman would accept collateral damage. If they wanted to take Jason out, they’d arrange it when he was alone at a meeting in a closed bar after hours. A business meeting requires preparation, so everything will be in place when the time comes. Until then, a package is just a package. Julian asks if Cyrus is telling him it won’t go off until Jason is alone. Fine. Cyrus gives Julian a phone, and says his burner number is already programmed into it. Call him when it’s done. Cyrus leaves, and Alexis comes around the corner. She says fancy meeting him there, and Julian says, it’s a bit of a surprise. Alexis says imagine her surprise seeing him and Cyrus together.

On the phone, Elizabeth says she’ll check the schedule, and call Patrick back. She tells Franco, everything is falling into place, and he says he’s not sure how she does that. He wishes it was catching. She says, what? and he says, her hope and faith; her plugging away. He’s a little terrified. Part of him wants to give up and accept his fate. She says, it’s a delicate balance. How long do you keep hoping, and when is the time for acceptance, but they’re not there yet. They’re still hoping. It’s not just his fate; it’s their fate. She’s willing to face anything to keep their family together. He says she’s right. From now on, he’ll do anything and everything to beat this. He holds her, and says he wants to be with her when she’s old and grey.

Britt calls Jason, and gets voicemail. She says he dumped this Cyrus stuff in her lap, and now he won’t take her calls. He told her if she saw something, say something, and she saw something. He needs to get to GH right now. She turns around to see Cyrus, who says, problems?

Alexis asks what Julian has gotten himself into now, but he says he went out for some fresh air. Cyrus keeps bugging him to sell Charlie’s, and he keeps telling Cyrus to buzz off. He asks if she’s been drinking, and she says, the roadways are safe; she’s walking. Julian says, it didn’t happen in a vacuum, and she says she’s not mowing anyone down tonight, even him. Relax. He says, what about her? and she says she’s bored with everyone’s misplaced concern that she’s self-destructive. She thinks she’s a survivor. She’s survived the past few years, starting with him, and she’s entitled to do what she needs to in order to get through the night. He says she’s made herself clear, but it hurts him to see her drowning her pain in a bottle of booze. She says she had two drinks. She was clearing her head before she went to say goodnight to Danny and Scout. Sam has lifted the moratorium on her seeing her grandkids. He says, it’s a positive start. They’re lucky to have her. Speaking from personal experience, she’s been a positive light in his dark life. She pushed him to be a better man. If it failed, that’s on him, not her. She asks why he’s talking like that. He sounds like he’s saying goodbye.

Diane asks if she’s convinced Sam and Molly to let Valentin stay, and Sam says if he tries to undermine the intervention, she’ll kill him herself. He says he accepts her terms. When is Alexis getting here? Sam says, soon she hopes. Alexis is supposed to come before the kids go to bed. He asks if Jason is coming, but Sam says she asked him to take Danny out, so he wouldn’t be there when they confront Alexis. They’re at The Floating Rib.    

Jason asks why Danny said that about Alexis, and Danny says he wasn’t spying or anything. He would walk in when his mom was talking about his grandma’s drinking, and she would stop when she saw him. Jason says he’s right. His mom has been worried about his grandma. Sometimes people drink too much, and can’t stop. That’s probably why his mother asked his grandma not to see them until she’s better. Danny says he misses her; Scout too. He hopes she doesn’t forget about them. Jason says, that’s not going to happen. Families have disagreements, but they don’t give up on each other. They’re not giving up on Danny’s grandma; no way.

Cameron tells Dev, Terry says it doesn’t look that good, and Dev says, that’s a lot. He’s sorry to hear it. If Cameron doesn’t want to hang out, it’s okay. Cameron says he’s glad he’s there. What did Dev want to talk about? Dev says, something else happened, and Cameron asks if it was when Dev was with Trina and Josslyn. Dev says, it’s something about Josslyn, but it’s not new. Cameron asks, what is it? and Dev flashes back to making the fake journal. Dev says he did something he regrets, and he wants to make it right.

Laura tells Lulu, plans change, and Lulu says, that’s all she’s got? Laura says, life is unpredictable. She says she doesn’t want to minimize what’s going on in Lulu’s life, and Lulu says her life is wonderful, but it’s difficult and messy at the same time. Laura says, if you find love in the midst of that, it’s a gift. Dante is Rocco’s father, and her husband. It’s not surprising the decisions she made when he was gone might change now that he’s back. Lulu says, that’s the thing. She doesn’t know if she wants them to change or not.

Dante tells Sonny, he divorced Lulu. He didn’t want to wait until his recovery. Sonny says Dante was in a bad place, and needed help. Everyone respected that. Dante says he didn’t know how to take it when he came home, and Lulu was with another dude. Sonny says he wasn’t there, but can’t imagine being willing to accept she’s with another man. Dante says he’s already disrupted Lulu’s life by showing up. He doesn’t want to disrupt it again. He loves her. Sonny asks if he thinks Lulu wants him to just give up.   

Lulu tells Laura that she’s happy with Dustin, and the kids love him. They have a solid life together, but she saw Dante, and all this history and love started bubbling up. Laura says what she needs is time and space, and has every right to ask for it. Maybe she should tell Dustin that it’s not the time to move in. If he’s the man she says he is, he’ll understand.

Dev asks if Cameron remembers when he showed him Josslyn’s journal. Cameron says Dev saved him from making a complete fool out of himself. In the moment, it was hard to hear, but he appreciates that Dev had his back. Had he gone for it, he might have lost a friend for good. Dev says, the thing is… Danny calls over to Cameron, and says his dad is teaching him to play pool. He just sunk two balls. Cameron tells Dev that he’ll be right back.  

Lulu tells Laura, it’s a good idea. Knowing Dustin, she knows he’ll understand, and want her to have clarity, so they can move forward with a clean slate. Laura thinks so too. She’s come to like and respect Dustin. Lulu says, that means a lot, and Laura says she has to get going. She wishes Lulu good luck, and kisses the top of her head. When Laura is gone, Lulu calls Dustin, and asks if he’s busy. She was hoping they could meet at The Rib.

Danny says, it’s all about finding the right angles, and Cameron says if Danny gets good now, it will be a breeze later. Laura texts Jason that she needs to talk, and to meet her in the alley. Jason says he has to make a quick call, and asks if Cameron will watch Danny. Cameron says, no problem, and tells Danny, rack them up.

Diane reads to the group from a paper, the guidelines say speak personally from your point of view. How does Alexis’s drinking affect you, and how does it make you feel? Not in a way that assigns blame. It’s not about shaming her, but about how much they love her.Valentin tells them, be prepared to be attacked, and Sam says his comment isn’t helpful. That’s why she didn’t want him there. He says he might be more helpful than she thinks, and Molly says, let them talk first. Valentin says he’s not convinced that Alexis is coming. She should have been there by now.

Alexis asks if Julian is leaving, but he says, no. He’s doing everything to stay. His kids and grandkids mean everything to him. She asks if he’s sure he’s all right, and he laughs. He says she’d better get a move on before the kids go to bed. She asks if he’s trying to get rid of her, but he says he’s just in a melancholy mood. Everything will be better tomorrow. She tells him, take care, and he says, her too. She leaves, and Julian picks up the backpack and walks in the other direction.

Elizabeth tells Franco she got her shifts taken care of, and he says he’s starving. They head for the elevator while talking about the kids, and Franco asks if she’s seen Jake’s graphic novel. It’s amazing. She asks if he has, and he says they’re reading it together. The elevator doors close.

Dante tells Sonny, he can’t go all caveman on Lulu. He’s already crossed boundaries. Sonny says, even if Dante hadn’t gotten treatment, Lulu would still be his wife. It’s understandable they would have feelings. Dante says, listen to Sonny, talking about feelings. He likes it, and he does still love Lulu. He wants to be with her. Sonny suggests Dante tell her, but Dante says he doesn’t want to pressure her. Sonny says they know she can make up her own mind. She may be stubborn about the feelings she has, but the life they had together, what was between them, is still there. Dante asks, what makes Sonny think he’s not the only one who has feelings? Sonny says he doesn’t know, but he has a radical idea. Ask her.  

Julian goes into The Rib. He sees Danny, Dev, and Cameron playing a video game, and having a great time. He sits at a booth, and looks in the backpack.

Alexis arrives at Sam’s, and Sam says she’s glad Alexis made it; she was starting to worry. Alexis says sorry she’s late, and they hug. She says she should go upstairs and say goodnight, but Sam says, actually, Scout is sleeping and Danny’s not here. Alexis asks where he is, and Sam says, he’s with his father. Molly says they love her. That’s why they’re doing this. Alexis says, doing what? Diane and Valentin come out, and Alexis says she sees. They’re having an intervention.  

Britt tells Cyrus that she wouldn’t be a very effective Chief of Staff if she ran to the Chairman about every minor crisis. She wonders why he’s there at this hour, and he says he likes to keep tabs on his hospital. He never tires of looking for ways to improve things. He’s made progress with some excellent staff choices, like herself, but there’s still much to be done to make it a world class hospital. He looks forward to her playing a part in that.   

Jason meets Laura outside, and she says she needs an update on Cyrus. He says, the truce is holding on the surface, and she says, and underneath? He thinks she should talk to Sonny, and she asks where she can find him. He says he Sonny is having a workout at the gym. He can tell Sonny that she’s looking for him if she wants, but she says she’ll track him down.

Dustin joins Lulu, and says he’s glad she called. He wasn’t too far away. He was picking something up. She says, it sounds secretive, and reminds him that she’s a reporter; she can sniff out a story. He says he’s not worried, and asks what she wanted to see him about. She says, us.

At the video game console, Danny says he’s just warming up, and Dev says he has more quarters. Danny tells them, this is the coolest part, and they watch, then say, whoa! Julian takes out his phone, and looks at pictures of his kids. He flashes back to Cyrus intimating that the bomb won’t go off until Jason is alone. Until then, the package is just a package. Julian says, God help him, and gets up. He walks out, leaving the backpack under the table. The boys continue playing. Julian should know better. He was a mob boss, for God’s sake. 

Alexis says, this is an ambush. Sam lured her there under false pretenses. Molly says they care about her, and she says, if they did, they wouldn’t have set a trap. Valentin says they want to talk to her, and she asks, why? Talk is deceptive. She’s not listening to how much they love her. You don’t betray people you love. Diane says, no one betrayed her. On the contrary; they’re all on her side. Sam asks Alexis to hear them out, but Alexis says Sam weaponized her love for her grandchildren. First by prohibiting her from seeing them, and then using them as bait to lure her there. She’s sure as hell not staying there now.

Jason calls Britt back, and asks what she wants. She says she has something for him, and can’t talk about it on the phone. She needs him to come to the hospital asap. He says he can’t; he’s with his son. They’ll have to talk tomorrow.  

Laura finds Sonny at the gym, and they hug. She says she’s eager for an update, but Sonny says she might want to say hello to someone first. She says, who? and Dante says, me. She hugs him, and tells him, welcome home. He says he’s sorry he was gone so long, and she says she completely understands the choice he made. He kept his family safe. That’s all that matters. In time, Lulu will figure things out. Dante says he was thinking of stopping by, and Laura says she just left Lulu at The Floating Rib. He says he’s going to take off, and tells them, goodnight. Laura and Sonny smile at each other.

Lulu tells Dustin, she’s been turning some things around in her head. Dante coming back threw her for a loop. Dustin says he gets that. She and Dante were together for a long time. He says, it makes sense that things would feel unfinished, and she says, it doesn’t take away from how she feels about him. She loves him, and values their relationship. He says he’s glad to hear it, because he loves her too. That’s why he’s been reevaluating moving in. She says she’s so glad he understands. Him officially moving in doesn’t feel totally right anymore. He says he doesn’t want her falling backward in confusion and uncertainty, and doesn’t want her to doubt his commitment to their life together. He takes out a jewelry box. Rut-roh.

Jason comes back into The Rib, and asks Cameron if everything is good. Cameron says, it’s great. Danny might not be much at pool, but he’s a shark. He may have spent all of Dev’s quarter’s. Jason tries to give Dev some money, but Dev won’t take it, and Jason says, at least let him buy them dinner, and hands Dev some cash. Dev and Cameron go to order, and Danny asks if Jason wants to see how good he is at the video game. Jason guesses he can stay longer, and Danny drags him over to the console. Dev says he needs to tell Cameron something about Josslyn’s journal, when Elizabeth and Franco come in. Cameron says, first, he wants to say hi to his parents, and tells Dev to grab a table. Dev sits down, and his foot hits the backpack. He says, what the hell…? Ooh, he might know what something like that looks like, considering his background.

Alexis tells Sam to get her coat, and Sam says, mom, please. Just an hour. Alexis says she doesn’t want to talk, especially to Sam. Valentin says her daughters are desperate and scared, and don’t want to lose their mother. He tells Alexis that she doesn’t want to lose her life, but she says it’s her choice. If she wants to drink, she will. Diane says, here you go, handing Alexis her coat. She doesn’t want Alexis to get pneumonia on top of everything else. Sam says if Alexis leaves, she’s going to lose her support system. Alexis fought like hell for her, and now it’s her turn. Is Alexis willing to throw all of them away? Stay and hear them out.

Sonny says it’s good what Laura said to Dante, and she says she has a sneaking suspicion that he and Lulu will be just fine. Sonny says, him too, and asks how she knew he was there. She says she ran into Jason. She’s sorry, but she has to talk to him about something that can’t wait.

Britt brings Brad something for his pain. He asks if she reached Jason, and she says, they spoke, but she couldn’t get into it on the phone. He says, Jason is coming, right? If Jason doesn’t help, he’s as good as dead.

Julian stands at the docks.

Dev touches the bag.

Cameron tells Franco and Elizabeth that he’s sorry for freaking out, but Franco gives Cameron credit, saying, he took the bad news well. Dev tells the bartender, there’s a suspicious bag under the table. Dustin tells Lulu, she’s right. He doesn’t want to just move in; that’s not enough. He wants them to build a life, and to make what they have permanent. Lulu says, she thought… and he says he’s doing this wrong. He gets down on one knee, and shows her the ring, which is beautiful, no surprise. He says he loves her with all his heart. Will she marry him?

Julian looks at the phone, and calls Cyrus. He says Cyrus better pick up.

Dante starts to cross the parking lot toward The Rib, when it explodes.

On Monday, the aftermath of the explosion, Dante calls for help, Laura says Cyrus is coming after her, and Sonny says, don’t die on him. He could be referring to any number of people.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Chase is in the shower when the phone rings. He answers and says, great. Leave a hard copy on his desk, and send Detective Spencer an email. He’ll be at the station in a couple of hours. He has an important meeting first.

Portia tells Jordan, she can’t believe she didn’t see it before. Jordan isn’t the best cop like Taggert said; she’s a dirty cop. Why else would she stop a legal protest? Jordan says she told Portia why, but Portia says she’s protecting Cyrus because she works for him.   

Cyrus admits he’s intrigued, considering Julian rebuffed his offer several times. Julian asks if he’s not interested anymore, and Cyrus says he’s skeptical of Julian’s change of heart, but thinks Julian finally realized he needs him.

Ava goes to Pentenville to see Ryan, but the guard tells her, not today. She says she’s been cleared to visit, and it’s vital she speak with him.

Ryan tells Sonny, the information he has will have an impact on Sonny’s family. Sonny says, let him give a word of advice. Actually, he’s going to state a fact. When it comes to games, he doesn’t play them.

Peter runs into the examining room where Maxie is. He asks if he missed the appointment, and she says, office hours were ending; she couldn’t stall any longer. He says he can’t believe he didn’t get there in time, but Maxie says she has souvenirs. He asks if she has the sonogram pictures, and she says, of course (🍷). She also knows he loves to listen to the baby’s heartbeat. She plays it for him on her phone.

At Charlie’s, Jackie tells Finn, Chase is on his way. Finn is surprised Chase wasn’t camped out in front, and Jackie says, he was looking forward to it. Finn wonders what’s keeping Anna.  

In her basement, Anna yells for help, and says she’s downstairs. Valentin ask if that’s her, and she says she’s in the basement. He says he’s coming, but Alex sneaks up on him, and plunges a syringe in his neck. He grimaces, and she says, it looks like it stings. It seems he was expecting her. Valentin falls, and Alex says, that would be the drop kick. Anna yells, what has Alex done? but Alex says, he’s not dead. Valentin says, Anna, and Alex says, poor Valentin. He never gets to play hero to the woman of his dreams. Soon, he’ll be too doped up to think clearly, so while he’s still lucid, where is her son?

Jordan says Portia has no idea what she’s talking about, and Portia say she knows what she sees and hears. Jordan has defended Cyrus at every turn. She claims she’s helping the people of Port Charles, but the only one she’s helping is Cyrus. Jordan says she’s protecting the city and the hospital, and Portia says, it was her press conference that brought Cyrus to the Board’s attention. She practically rolled out the red carpet for him to make the place unrecognizable. Jordan says the hospital saved her life, and employs her son, and Portia says, that’s what makes it more of a mystery. With the Commissioner’s stamp of approval, Cyrus can do what he wants to who wants, and not have to pay for it. Jordan says, if he doesn’t, people are going to get hurt.

Jackie says Finn was never good at waiting, and he says she was never good at keeping track of time. Jackie asks if he’s implying she kept him waiting, and he asks if she’s denying it, but she says, no. Chase arrives, and he and Jackie hug. Finn says he wants a full report about his girl; how was trick-or-treating? Chase says he got the cutest picture of Violet, and Jackie asks to see it. He shows her, and she says, wow; she’s adorable. Chase says when and if they meet, she’ll see Violet’s personality matches her face. Jackie says she’d love to meet Violet, whenever Finn is comfortable with it. Finn says he’s sure Violet would love it.

Julian says, the deal has to happen immediately, or there is no deal. Cyrus says Julian is in no position for setting terms. Julian asks if Cyrus wants his services or not. Cyrus says Julian is established in Port Charles, supposedly reformed, and related to a lot of people. Julian says he can go places Cyrus can’t, and Cyrus says, not Sonny’s compound, but Julian is welcome in other arenas. Julian says, so they’re good? and Cyrus says Julian hasn’t told him what’s requested on his end. Julian says, required, and Cyrus says, they’ll see. Julian says Ryan has information that he wants sent out of Pentenville, and needs to be stopped. Cyrus asks, what information? Julian can’t expect Cyrus to act on his behalf without proper details. Julian says, it’s about Sonny Corinthos, and Cyrus says, now things just got interesting.

Ava tells the guard, it’s a misunderstanding. She’d hate for this snafu to get him into trouble with the warden. Let her see Ryan, and they can forget this happened. The guard says, Ryan already has a visitor; last minute.

Ryan says Sonny seems underwhelmed. It’s a disappointment. He can assure Sonny, it’s not a game. He’s deadly serious. Sonny says Ryan is going to shut up now, but Ryan says the person could hurt Sonny’s family and get away with it. Sonny doesn’t want that, does he?

Sonny says, Ryan made a point to reach out to his family, which means they’re in his radar. That can’t happen. It was easier to just have a conversation with him, than going through the effort of getting rid of him. Don’t think it won’t happen if Ryan contacts him again. Ryan says, okay; threat taken. But what Sonny needs to understand is that what he has is extremely important, and he has physical proof. They hear Ava saying she’s allowed to be there. The guard asks her to keep her voice down, but she says she won’t. Ryan says, on cue. Ava is dying to get in here. Hear how desperate she sounds? Why does Sonny think that is? Ava says, let her in or she’ll report him to the warden. Sonny opens the door, and asks what she’s doing there.

Cyrus asks if Julian knew from the jump, but Julian says, not from the jump, but early on. Cyrus says, denying Sonny his grandson is a bold move. Julian says Cyrus could enjoy it a little less, but Cyrus doesn’t think so. What else? That can’t be the end of the tangled web. Julian says, Brad was losing his mind with guilt, and he thought Brad was going to blow it. So he rigged Brad’s car to crash. It went great, but Lucas was in the car, and his son got hurt. Cyrus says, Julian is responsible for his son almost dying? and Julian says, Nelle knew, and got him to marry her. She also for him to help her kidnap Wiley. In his defense, he changed his mind, and tried to stop her at the end. Cyrus says, truly heroic. So Nelle wrote it all out, and sent it to Ryan, and now Ryan is threatening to tell Sonny. Julian says he thinks Ryan is about to make good on his threat, and he needs Cyrus to keep that from happening.

Portia asks what Jordan means by people could get hurt? and Jordan says Portia has to trust her. Portia says she doesn’t think so. She thinks she’ll call the mayor, or better yet the Feds, and tell them the Commissioner is on a drug trafficker’s payroll. Jordan follows Portia into her office, and says she can’t do this. Portia says Jordan let the man go free who kidnapped her daughter. Cyrus is guilty as sin, and she knows it. Jordan says Portia is right, but tell her how far she’d go if her child’s life was on the line.

Maxie tells Peter, the baby is strong, and Peter has been there in all the ways that count. She says she knows he loves them, but Peter says he doesn’t want his child to feel like he did; small and unimportant. She says, that’s not going to happen, and he asks how she knows. She says, by the way he’s reacting. The baby feels more loved already than Peter did his whole childhood. He says he thinks the baby is going to change his life, and she says she hopes he doesn’t enjoy sleeping or eating, or going to the bathroom by himself. Those days are over. He says he’ll finally be the man he always wanted to be.

Valentin says, screw him for not snapping Alex’s neck when he had the chance. She says Peter is still her son, and she plans to protect him. She got him away from his father’s reach, but Valentin couldn’t let it be. He says she has nowhere to hide, so she’s taking over Anna’s life, like a parasite. It won’t work. People will see through it; people like him. She says, conveniently, he’ll be leaving this mortal coil with Anna. Anna’s phone rings, and I wonder why Anna isn’t up the stairs ten minutes ago. It’s Finn, who asks where she is. He asks if she forgot they were meeting Jackie and Chase. She says she was on the way out, when Valentin dropped by. Carry on without her. He says, okay, but he’s worried about her. Did she get the test results back? Does she know who Peter’s mother is? She says, not yet, and he suggests he come home, but she says she feels bad enough. She doesn’t want to ruin the reunion. He says, okay, and tells her that he loves her. She says she’ll see him later, and she loves him too.   

Finn goes back to the table, and Chase asks if everything is okay. Finn says, Anna won’t be joining them, and Chase says, bummer. He wants Jackie to get to know Anna better. He knows they’d like each other. Finn says, Anna got tied up.

Valentin says, as soon as Anna suggested it, he knew Alex was Peter’s mother. Only she would sleep with Faison, have his child, and walk away. Alex says she put him in a good place, but he says that doesn’t excuse what she did, shouldering her sister with guilt. She’s downright lethal. She says, he’s about find out, when finally, Anna comes up from the basement with her gun drawn.  

Alex holds a knife to Valentin’s throat, and Anna tells Alex to let him go. Valentin says he always knew it wouldn’t end well, and Alex tells him that he has no self-respect. Anna says, that’s enough, and Alex says, for once they agree. Drop the gun.

Portia tells Jordan, it was TJ. Cyrus was using her son against her. Jordan says Portia was on call when TJ was left for dead at the hospital. Cyrus had him abducted, and tortured him. She was sent pictures of her son, bloody and bettered, knowing there wasn’t a damn thing she could do about it. Portia says, that’s when she came out with the evidence that released Cyrus from prison. Now she knows why all these months Jordan has been doing Cyrus’s bidding. Jordan was afraid Cyrus would target TJ again. Jordan says she knows he will. Whenever she’s pushed back, Cyrus evoked TJ’s name as a reminder of what’s at stake. She’s hated every minute of this, but she’d do it again in a heartbeat. Portia says she would have done the exact same thing.

Cyrus asks Julian if he wants to drink to their new arrangement, and Julian says as soon as he’s sure Cyrus is handling his end. Cyrus says, that’s fair. He’ll be in touch, but when he calls, Julian needs to answer.

Ava tells Sonny, she knew she hadn’t convinced him, and he tells her, calm down. She says, not until she gets him out of there. He needs to stop talking to that monster; no good will come of it. He has to trust her. Ryan will mess with his mind to the point where Sonny thinks he’s in control, but he’s not. Ryan is always the one pulling the strings. It’s the most terrifying feeling in the world; to not trust yourself or the world around you. Not being able to trust anything. She doesn’t want Ryan to do that to Sonny, and asks him to please leave with her. Sonny says he gets that this is real. Ryan hurt Ava, and she’s doing backflips to get him not to go in. That makes him want to talk to Ryan even more. He goes back in, with Ava behind him, and asks what Ryan’s got to say. Ryan slumps over, a knife in his back. I go, oooh! The guard comes in, and asks, what happened? Sonny says he came in to talk to Ryan, and he has a knife in his back. Ava asks if he’s dead, but Sonny can’t tell.

Portia tells Jordan, she was completely off base. She’s sorry. Jordan says, Portia is right. She is under Cyrus’s thumb. Portia says, but not for the reason she thought. It was all about Taggert. He was on Cyrus’s radar because he framed Cyrus. Jordan says, he didn’t act alone. For Portia to truly understand what’s at stake, she needs to know everything. She only told Portia part of the truth. There was a conspiracy to frame Cyrus, but what she left out is that she was in it too. They all were. They were undercover for nearly two years, watching Cyrus commit crime after crime to build his empire. It was too much; Cyrus was too careful. So they made a decision that the pain had to stop, and fabricated evidence, planning to put Cyrus away for good. But his reach was too long, even in prison. When he found out their identities, he came after Bob and Mark, and killed them. Portia says, and he used Trina to lure Taggert to the warehouse. Jordan says, Cyrus doesn’t bluff. She had no doubt he’d kill her son to get what he wanted, and Portia says, so Jordan had him exonerated. Jordan says, she was the lucky one. Instead of killing her, Cyrus thought it would be more useful to have her in his pocket. Portia says, so Jordan threw Taggert under the bus. It was either that, or lose her son.

Peter tells Maxie that he’s taking the pictures to show Anna how much the baby is growing. She says, how a grown man can be reduced to a pile of mush is so sweet, and he says he doesn’t know how to explain it. He has a feeling of redemption, like the baby is his do-over. Isn’t that what it’s supposed to be when you bring life into the world? Not for him and Anna, but for Anna and Robin, and Valentin and Charlotte. This is his chance. Maxie says, she used to tell herself that; less with Georgie, but with James for sure. She thought having him would make her the perfect person she’d dreamed of being. The perfect friend, the perfect employee, the perfect wife and mother. She had it all. He says, he’s sensing a but, and she says she hates to break it to him, but that’s not how it works. It changes you in monumental ways, but Peter will still be him, and she’s happy about that. He says he loves her, and she says, now she feels a but coming. He says he loves her, but he respectfully disagrees. This baby is his new lease on life. Just watch. She asks if he plans on changing all the diapers, and heat baby bottles in his sleep. She’ll help every once in a while.

Valentin tells Anna, take the shot, and Alex says, such a gentleman; sacrificing all over the place. He says, take the damn shot, but Anna lowers the gun. Alex tells her, now drop the gun, and Anna puts it down. Alex says, now the cuffs, and Anna puts the handcuffs on herself. Alex says, good girl, and picks up the gun, holding it on Anna, who says, for now. Alex says she thinks it’s time for a second location, and hits Anna with the gun, knocking her out. She says, everybody okay?  

Portia tells Jordan, she understands Trina is hurt and angry, but she’s not missing like TJ was. She wishes she could take Trina’s pain, but Trina is here, alive and thriving. It’s all she can ask for. Jordan appreciates Portia’s understanding, and Portia says she’s a mother like Jordan, and like Jordan, she would move heaven and earth for her child. She’s sorry Jordan had to shoulder this alone. Jordan says she has Curtis, but Portia says, it’s an awful way to exist. Jordan says, it doesn’t mean she’s surrendered. She’s working against Cyrus, but has to find a way to bring him down without her son getting hurt. Everywhere she turns, he’s boxing her in tighter. Portia says, let her help, but Jordan says she’d be an accessory. Portia says she’s already made herself an accessory. Jordan needs back-up. Portia was married to law enforcement a long time, and Jordan doesn’t understand what she’s capable of. What they’re capable of if they work together.

On the phone, Julian tells Ava to call when she gets this. He has a plan in place.

Jackie doesn’t know what’s more delicious; the cookies or Violet. Chase says when he babysits, Violet always wants warm milk and cookies before bed. They reminisce about when Chase was little, and his father gave him piggyback rides upstairs. Chase says, they were epic, and Jackie says she never understood the benefit of him bouncing around before bed. Chase says he loves watching Violet and Finn horsing around; it reminds him of his dad. Finn says, see? He’s fun. Chase says, only with Violet. Finn’s phone dings, and he quickly looks at it. Chase asks if he’s worried about Anna. Finn asks if it’s that obvious, and Chase says he’s an easy read. Get out. Go see his fiancé. Finn says they’ll do this again sometime, and Jackie says, sounds good. He tells them, goodnight, and leaves. Chase says, that went well, doesn’t she think? and she says, better than expected. Her phone dings, and she says, son of a bitch. Chase asks if it’s breaking story, and she asks how he knew. He says, his eighth birthday, the state playoffs, the pre-party before the prom. Although he’s grateful she didn’t show up for that. She says she’s the worst mother, but he says she’s a great mother, and a great reporter. How soon does she leave? She says, tonight.

Anna comes to, and she’s tied back-to-back with Valentin. She asks where they are, and Alex says, the soon to be site of a terrible accident. Anna says, Alex thinks she wants to kill her, but she doesn’t. Their lives are intertwined; they’re too connected. Alex agrees, but adds that she’s not one who likes sharing. She wants a wonderful life. Anna say she’s not going to get it by pretending to be her, and Alex says, enough. She’s disabled the safety mechanism on a pressure cooker. In an hour, it will reach maximum pressure and explode. By that time, the whole place will be full of gas. If they haven’t been asphyxiated, they’ll be incinerated. If any remains are found, people will think it’s her. She takes Anna’s wedding ring, and Anna calls her a total bitch. Alex puts it on, and says, it’s not her style, but it will have to do. Anna says, it won’t take Finn long to realize. Then what? Alex says, poor Finn, headed for heartbreak. She should have killed him too, but then it would have been too obvious. Anna’s phone dings, and she says, it’s a text from Peter. Maxie’s latest sonogram. The baby looks like her. She says she’ll meet them at the hospital, and Anna says, don’t you dare. Alex says, why? It’s kind of ironic. Her new life is beginning, and Anna’s is just about to end. She’s really sorry it had to be like this. She leaves, and Anna tells Valentin, wake up.

On the phone, Jackie says, if they want her on the story, she wants the best. Meet her on arrival. She’s not flying halfway around the world to stand in a line. She’ll call when she’s on the plane. She hangs up, and Chase asks how many producers she’s driven to a nervous breakdown. She says, zero. She doesn’t mean to be impossible, but if they want her to do the story, they want the best. He suggests she finesse something in the Bay area so they can have an honest to God family reunion. She says, about that. There’s something she needs to tell him. She knows it’s been his dream to get the family together, including Finn, and he says, for as long as he can remember. She says she wishes it had happened sooner, and he says she’s scaring him. What’s wrong? She says she and his father are getting divorced.

Sonny and Ava arrive at the hospital. Ava says, Ryan is a liar. Whatever he said, Sonny can’t believe him. Sonny says Ryan told him that he had something important to say, and wound up with a knife in his back. Does she think it’s a coincidence? He walks away, and Ava digs in her bag for her phone. She calls Julian, and tells him that he’s not going to believe what just happened. She tried to circumvent Sonny, but he was already in with Ryan when she got there. Julian says, dammit, but she says, hold on. Before Ryan could say anything, he got a knife in his back. He keeled over right in front of them, like some kind of miracle. Julian asks if he’s dead, but she doesn’t know. He says, not quite a miracle… yet.

At the hospital, Cyrus asks Jordan, what’s going on? She looks tired. She says she’s fine, and he asks why he’s there. He’s not a fan of being summoned. She says he should rethink the way he’s managing the staff. The protest is picking up steam. He tells her to handle it, but she says, it’s still free a country. He doesn’t control everything. She suddenly drops to the floor, and Cyrus calls for help. Portia runs to Jordan, asking if Jordan can hear her, and checking Jordan’s pulse. Cyrus looks genuinely concerned.

Peter tells Maxie, Anna is on her way. Alex comes out of the elevator, and sees Maxie and Peter. She tells Peter to hand over the sono pictures, and Peter says, that’s her grandchild. She pretends to fawn over the pictures, and says she can’t wait to meet him or her, and spend the rest of her life spoiling them rotten. Peter suggests she have some boundaries, but she says she’s the baby’s grandma. No promises. Maxie says, it’s her prerogative, and Alex stares at Peter.

Finn gets home, and calls to Anna, but sees the house is empty.

The pressure cooker ticks away. Valentin wakes up, and he and Anna both start coughing. Valentin says he’ll give her sister this much, she’s thorough. Anna says, they’re not going die. Not today. Not like this.

Tomorrow, Epiphany toasts to new beginnings, Robert asks what Valentin has to do with it, and Anna tells Valentin not to quit on her.

The Real Housewives of Orange County

Gina got in Braunwyn’s face at Shannon’s party, calling her a sloppy chihuahua – whatever that means – and accusing her of being wasted all the time. As usual, Gina was five beats behind, and Braunwyn said, I’ve been sober for thirty days, bitch, and walked out, tossing her glass of pretend drink in the pool. Sean stayed behind and stood up for her, which offended Gina, who continued to act like an a-hole. Everyone acted like Braunwyn throwing the glass in the pool was the worst thing anyone could possibly do. In Emily’s interview, she says she was glad she wasn’t the one crying and throwing things. It was someone else’s turn now, and she passed the torch. We flashed back to her altercation with Kelly at somebody’s party. I forget whose. Sean hunted Braunwyn down, and said she needed to pull Gina aside and talk. Braunwyn told Sean that none of them could handle the truth, and he suggested a one-on-one conversation. Gina complained that she didn’t like a man schooling her, which annoyed me. These women want to be equals, but God forbid a man argues with them. Then, all of a sudden, men shouldn’t get involved, even if they dragged him into it. In Gina’s interview, she said she was disgusted when a man’s response was to get in her face, which annoyed me further. Gina had certainly gotten in Braunwyn’s face, finger wagging, but Sean didn’t even raise his voice. And I thought it was kind of cool that he defended his wife. Sean thought Braunwyn needed support. Everyone ate some weird noodles from plastic cups, and Elizabeth told Gina that she was a better woman than this. Sean asked Gina to have a conversation outside with Braunwyn, and Gina finally deigned to grace Braunwyn with her presence. They apologized to each other, and discussed the text from Sean to Gina, which got dicey. Gina thought it was inappropriate, and Braunwyn asked why Gina hadn’t brought it up to her, rather than Emily. Gina said Emily was her best friend, so too bad. In her interview, Gina said she felt compassion for Braunwyn, but she was still pissed.

Braunwyn asked to talk to Kelly in private, and told Kelly that she’d hit bottom. She was 30 days sober, but wanted a drink so effing bad it hurt. Kelly joked around, saying in her interview that she thought laughter was the best medicine. They talked about Sean being an enabler, and Kelly told Braunwyn to shake it off. Taylor Swift played in my head. Sean told Elizabeth that he was there when Shannon called Gina’s place sad. In Shannon’s interview, she said all Braunwyn did was rain down on what was supposed to be an amazing day. Get TF out. On the way home, Braunwyn told Sean she thought she’d be stronger. She shared too much with 17 year old daughter Rowan when she got home, telling her all about the party. She said she’d been raging, and had never raged in her life. Rowan was like, oh really? and we flashed back to Braunwyn getting pretty angry about a hypothetical situation in front of the kids. Back at the party, Shannon toasted to good friends, and continued blessings for everyone.

Getting on the treadmill, Braunwyn told Sean that she was mortified by her behavior. She wondered when she’d stop feeling effing crazy, and Sean sagely said, time. Shannon gave everyone a tour of the house, and in Gina’s interview, she said Shannon’s house was neither sad nor small. She was glad to have friends with big bougie houses, so she could reap the benefits. I know the feeling. I keep hoping one of my neighbors will put in a pool. The gym room housed a ginormous painting of a photo of Shannon, and in Elizabeth’s interview, she said she was no therapist, but guessed self-love was good. If someone gave that to her, she’d say thanks, and put it in the garage. Braunwyn and Sean headed for an open AA meeting, while at the party, Kelly got intrusive about Shannon’s dad’s sex life. In her interview, she said Rick was 60, and she wanted to make sure all the parts would be moving when he got to that age. John’s daughter fished the glass out of the pool with a net, and you would have thought she was the second coming.  

In her interview, Kelly explained that Rick was trying to get transferred to the L.A. division of FOX News. they were addicted to each other, and she was excited to move in together. Gina talked to mom Susan about mediation with Matt. She said Matt had been prickly about her seeing someone, but he had a girlfriend now, and had eased up. Matt didn’t seem like much of a catch to her, with domestic violence charges under his belt, but new girlfriend Britt was kind to the kids, and got Matt off her back. She also lived in Gina’s community, and could pick up the kids in a pinch. Kelly and Elizabeth went shopping, and Elizabeth said her divorce trial was coming up. Kelly asked if it was worth it, and Elizabeth said she wasn’t allowed to mention numbers, but it was worth it. In Kelly’s interview, she said she spent $150,000 on her divorce settlement. She would settle it, take the money, and run. In Emily’s interview, she announced that pigs were flying, and hell had officially frozen over. Shannon put her on a group text. She knew Emily’s name and phone number. Emily thought she should have gotten a badge or a trophy.

Gina told Elizabeth that her dad was an alcoholic; sober 9 years now. Elizabeth asked for explanation of what happened at party, and in her interview, said addiction and alcoholism run rampant in her family. If Braunwyn was willing to have an honest conversation, she’d be supportive. Later, while visiting Emily, Gina said she’d gotten a text from Braunwyn. She’d said she wasn’t proud of how she acted, and asked Gina to go to an AA meeting with her, and out for coffee afterward. In Gina’s interview, she said she knew something was off. Braunwyn was detoxing. She realized that Braunwyn doing everything sober must be challenging. Emily thought Shannon wasn’t making a dig about Gina’s place, but Braunwyn equated small with sad, and believed she was. Kelly thought it was rude of Braunwyn to throw Shannon under the bus, but believed Shannon did say Gina’s house was sad. Elizabeth said Braunwyn didn’t know about being poor, but she had survived, so she understood. In her interview, she said growing up, they lived in trailers and abandoned hotels, and they would get expired food from Walmart’s garbage. She understood the struggles.

In Braunwyn’s interview, she said she and Sean decided to renew their vows every 10 years. She was drunk at their 10 year renewal, and wanted to do it again sober, and make it a new start. She called Shannon, and there was a big silence after she said it was her. She told Shannon that she still really wanted Shannon, John, and the kids to be at the ceremony, but if Shannon didn’t want to come, she’d understand. Shannon cared more about Braunwyn putting words in her mouth than the vow renewal, and Braunwyn insisted she’d heard Shannon say it. If Dr. Phil had been there, he would have asked them if they wanted to be happy or wanted to be right. Braunwyn said if they were going to move forward, they had to find a middle ground. Shannon said she’d been trying to help Braunwyn, and Braunwyn said she had to own her truth. Shannon asked if Braunwyn was going to continue her crusade, which sounded stupid, and made me think of Braunwyn dressed as a knight on a horse. Braunwyn said there was no crusade; she was focused on potty training a baby and staying sober. Shannon said she called on of the servers lemonade boy, and it was John’s son. Braunwyn said she didn’t know that, but hadn’t said it in a disparaging way; his shirt had lemons on it. Shannon said she didn’t want to be the a-hole who’s not supportive. By the time the call was over, there was nothing resolved, and Braunwyn told Sean that she thought Shannon really believed she hadn’t said what she did. In Braunwyn’s interview, she said Shannon would go to her deathbed to protect her image. She was Stepford Shannon. Funny, Kelly called her that last week. Braunwyn told Sean, the fact that people believed it, said more about them than her.

Emily dropped by Kelly’s, and Kelly said it was a revolving door there. She was getting used to suburbia again. When she lived on the beach, no one came over. She took a sip of Emily’s drink by mistake, and swore she didn’t have corona virus. In Kelly’s interview, she said she didn’t understand people freaking out over it. The swine flu, the Spanish flu; things like that happen from time to time. Emily thought Braunwyn was using her alcohol problem as a weapon to make Gina feel guilty, and Braunwyn called while they were talking about her. Kelly told her that they were discussing how freaky deaky she is off the sauce. They invited Braunwyn to join them.

Sean biked Braunwyn over to Kelly’s, and they gave her a mezuzah. I have one of those that was in my old apartment. You hang it by the door to bless your home – see below for a full description. In Kelly’s interview she said she could make matzo ball soup and potato latkes. Braunwyn told Emily and Kelly that she had thrown a tantrum at the party, and Emily said Gina didn’t want to go to Palm Springs for the vow renewal. She didn’t think Braunwyn wanted her there. We saw a clip of Gina telling Emily that at the party, and Emily saying Gina and Braunwyn needed to get to the point where they were cordial. Braunwyn said all she could do was be honest.

Shannon told John that her integrity meant everything to her, and Braunwyn had a selective memory. In Shannon’s interview, she said that Braunwyn appeared to have an agenda (huh?), and she was trying to figure out what it was. She thought Braunwyn should focus on her sobriety rather than continually telling people Shannon did something she didn’t. She told John that she doesn’t move on from people saying she’s a liar.

Next time, Braunwyn shops for her vow renewal dress, Gina meets with Braunwyn, and Gina gets weepy about Matt coming to Sienna’s birthday party.
