What I Watched Today

General Hospital

Drew catches Carly outside the gatehouse, and gives her a quick kiss. She asks him, what’s in the box? and he says, hopefully, the answer to finding Willow’s birth parents.

Inside, Michael asks if Willow is okay. Did she have enough to eat? She asks if it matters. It’s not like it’s going to stay down. Michael hugs her.

Britt says, if Cody is here to lobby for an invite to her party… He says he’s not. He hasn’t been honest with her, and intends to fix it right now.

Maxie sees Brook at the hospital, and asks if that’s the BLQ who saved Christmas, but Brook says, don’t hug her; she’s sick. Maxie says, with what? The flu? Bronchitis? Strep? Her kids have had everything. Brook says she doesn’t know, but she feels like hell. She has zero energy, she can’t sleep, and has this huge headache. She’s hoping the doctor can prescribe something to get rid of it. Maxie asks when her appointment is, and Brook says, not soon enough. Maxie says she can wait with Brook. It’s the least she can do, since she got Maxie to Georgie in time for Christmas. Brook says, with a major assist from Maxie’s ex, and Maxie tells her that she can say his name; she’s fine. Break-ups are hard, especially around the holidays, but she doesn’t have to tell Brook that, does she?

Chase walks into the MetroCourt restaurant, when his phone dings. He sees a text from Dante that says: The CCRB review your case at the Q2 2023 meeting.

At a table, Sasha tells Gladys, when that engine came to life, it was like an actual Christmas miracle. Then the fact that Britt used it to go to the Quartermaines’ to deliver a baby? Gladys says, Brando would be so proud, and Sasha says, he would be so thrilled to know his motorcycle helped someone, but Gladys says, she meant Brando would be proud of her. She is. Sasha takes her hand, and says she’s proud of Gladys too. The way Gladys has stepped up for her, she doesn’t know how thank Gladys and tell her how much it means to her. Gladys says, they’ve come a long way, and Sasha says she bets Brando is looking down on them now and smiling. Gladys says she misses him, and Sasha says, her too.

Sonny, Dex, and Frank walk into a hotel room (not the start of a joke), and Dex asks if the party Sonny is meeting is bringing their own security. Sonny says, that’s why he brought Dex and Frank. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.Dex says, and if the worst happens? and Sonny says, then they make them regret they ever crossed him. Dex asks, who exactly are they dealing with? and Sonny says, a group that wants to run exports through Port Charles. That’s all Dex needs to know. There’s a knock at the door, and Frank answers. A man with a briefcase walks in, and says, he came alone, but Frank checks the hallway before closing the door. The man introduces himself as Roman Hume. He knows Sonny is a busy man, and doesn’t want to waste his time. He suggests they get started, and they sit. Sonny says, first and foremost, he doesn’t negotiate. If they want to do business with him, they follow his rules. Roman says, or what? and Sonny says, he doesn’t want to find out.

Brook asks how Maxie knew she and Chase broke up. Has she talked to him? Maxie says, Nina told her that Chase ended up performing at Gingerbread Jam, from which she deduced he wasn’t hurt or sick. Which led her to believe something went down with the two of them for Brook to think he wasn’t coming. Brook says, that’s some sleuthing, and Maxie says, unless her relationship radar is on the fritz. Brook says she wishes. Unfortunately, it’s spot on. Maxie asks when it happened. Sometime around Thanksgiving? Brook asks how she knew that, and Maxie says, Brook was putting on a pretty good face at work, but she could tell something was going on. So what did Brook do? Brook says, what makes Maxie think it wasn’t Chase who messed up? and Maxie says she loves Brook, but Chase is basically a Boy Scout in a man’s body. Brook says, he’s not that innocent; he cheated on Willow. Maxie says, that was fake to get Wiley away from Nelle. Brook says, Maxie’s right. Chase is like the most selfless person on the planet, and she’s not. How delusional was she to think she could hold on to him?

Gladys looks in her compact mirror, and says she still can’t believe she owns actual diamond studs. What a Christmas gift, from the best daughter-in-law. Sasha says, they look fabulous on her, and Gladys says, they really do, don’t they? Chase comes by, and says he’s sorry to interrupt. He just wanted to say hi. Sasha starts to introduce him, but Gladys says, Harrison Chase, former detective turned pop star. She saw his performance at the Gingerbread Jam. Downloaded the new single right away. She sings, ♫I’ll find a way to you…♫ and says, catchy. Chase says he appreciates that, and Gladys asks if he’d like to join them, but he says he’s here to pick up a to-go order. She says, at least let her get him a mimosa while he waits, on her way back from powdering her nose. She won’t take no for an answer. She leaves, and Chase sits down. Sasha says, look at him all famous. She guesses she’ll have to say she knew him when.

Selina sees Gladys on her way to the bathroom, and says, just the woman she was looking for. Wow. I always admire how fashionably and impeccably dressed Selina is, and it looks like she forgot to comb her hair.

Britt says she doesn’t have time for this conversation. She has important party prep to plan, but Cody says, hear him out, and she’ll never have to see him again. She says, that is an offer she can’t refuse, and sits at her desk. She says, any day now, and he says he asked her to hear him out, and now he doesn’t know where to start. She says, the beginning works, and he says, when they first met, he was playing her. He had zero romantic interest in her. She tells him, wow. Don’t sugarcoat it, and he sits down, saying, she was just this uptight drunk girl that he crashed into when he was parachuting into a pool. She’s beautiful, but he tends to date girls who are more chill. She asks if there’s a point here somewhere, and he says, then he found out something that did make him more interested in her; her father. Suddenly, she became the key to changing his life, in more ways than one.

Drew says, Carly remembers Brian, right? and she says, his reporter from Claiborne County? Drew says, he did a deep dive into the county’s records, and found a photograph that was actually taken at the commune. She says she’s surprised there are any photographs of that place, and he says, there aren’t many, but there was a photojournalist who was trying to do a story on the place, and got shut out, but managed to get a photo of Josiah, the commune leader. He hands her a photo, and says he had Brian do a background check on all the Josiahs in the tri-state area that matched around the same age. Unfortunately, there was no evidence any of them were part of the commune. So their best bet is to compare their photographs with the one of Josiah. Carly says, and see if they’re a match, and Drew says, it’s their best bet of finding this guy and seeing what he knows about Willow’s birth.

Wiley asks if they’re going sledding, but Willow says, not today. He says, but she promised, and she says, they’ll go another day, okay? She and daddy have to go to the doctor now. He says, they’re always at the doctor, and Michael says he’ll take Wiley sledding when they get back. Wiley says he wants mommy to come too, but Willow says she can’t today. Wiley screams, no doctor! I want to go sledding now! just as Carly and Drew walk in.  

Cody tells Britt that he’d heard the name Faison, but had no clue he had kids, just that Faison was an associate of his father’s. She says, Leopold Taub, and he says he realized her father may have had some of Taub’s possessions, in which case they belonged to her, so he decided to get close to her. She asks if this was before or after they matched on Society Set-Ups, and he says, before. Spinelli matched them because he asked Spinelli to. She says, just like that, out of the goodness of his heart, but Cody says he didn’t really give Spinelli a choice. She says, AKA, Cody blackmailed him, and Cody says he knew Britt wouldn’t give him a chance if they didn’t. She says, okay. This proves more or less what she already knew. It certainly doesn’t change anything. So what is the point of this big confession?

Maxie says she’s not condoning what Brook did, but she’d be lying if she said she didn’t get it. Brook says, Maxie doesn’t think she’s a horrible person? and Maxie says, Brook knows she’d never think that of her, especially after what Brook did for her and Bailey. Brook bets Chase would disagree, and Maxie says, playing God with his future was probably not the best idea. Brook says, now the universe is paying her back; she probably has some rare disease. Maxie thinks Brook is being a little hard on herself. Did Brook make a mistake? Yes. Is she human? Also yes. Brook says she kept hoping Chase still might come around, and Maxie says, he might, but Brook says, Chase has made it abundantly clear their relationship is strictly professional. Karma is real. Her mystery fever got way worse after that. Maxie feels Brook’s forehead, and says, she doesn’t feel hot, but Brook says she meant it metaphorically. Maxie says, so no fever? and Brook says she’s actually having super weird symptoms. Maxie says, this is more serious than she thought.

Chase says, it was good to see Sasha again on Christmas Eve, and she says, it was good to see him too. He asks how the holidays have been, and she says, he means without Brando? He says, that time of year can be hard in general, but add to it what she’s been through… She says, it’s been a struggle, but she’s okay. It’s funny. While Brando and Liam have been on her mind, she’s also been aware of how lucky she is, surrounded by the love of friends and family. She’s barely had a chance to feel lonely. He says he’s glad, and hopes he’s included in the friends and family. She says, he is, and he tells her, if she every needs to talk, if she needs anything, he’s here. She thanks him, and he says he hopes it doesn’t sound out of bounds, but she seems good; like in a more stable place. She says she is. She’s really trying to get better. Not just for her; for Brando. He only ever wanted the best for her. For her to be whole, happy, healthy, and pursue her dreams, whatever they may be. Brando didn’t care if she was a model or veterinary assistant, as long as she was happy. Little by little, she’s finding her way, and learning to trust herself again. It feels good. He asks if that means the guardianship will be over soon.

Gladys asks how Selina’s holiday was, and Selina says, it could have been better, seeing as how Gladys owes her money. Gladys says, about that… but Selina says, don’t worry; she understands. She’s not an unreasonable woman. Gladys says she really is sorry. The last couple poker games she was at, things just got away from her. She swears it’s just bad luck. Selina says, Gladys’s luck is of little concern to her. Gladys’s debt, on the other hand, is. So should they discuss when Gladys intends to pay her back?

Michael says, Wiley is in his room for time out. He told Wiley that he can’t talk to his mother that way, no matter how disappointed he is. He tells Carly, what a welcome, huh? and hugs her. He thanks her for coming on such short notice; Melanie had a family emergency. Carly says she cherishes any time with her grandson, and Michael says, even when he’s acting out? She says she remembers how Michael was when she was pregnant with Morgan, and he says he was angelic, he’s sure. She says, Wiley probably sees all the attention the baby is getting, and he’s wondering if any is going to be left for him. She thinks it’s pretty normal. Drew says he comes bearing good news. While they’re at the doctor, he and Carly are going to be working on finding Willow’s birth parents. Willow says she couldn’t believe it when he told her the news, and can hardly believe it now. Her birth family may still be out there. She thanks Drew, and says she appreciates everything both of them are doing, but he says, no thanks needed. Michael says, they should go, and Carly asks, how long is Wiley in jail? He says, 30 minutes; text if she needs anything. She tells them to take their time, and they leave. Drew says, time to get to work.

Roman says, no disrespect intended, but there’s always room for negotiation in business. Sonny says, if they’re going to move potentially dangerous material through his territory, he’s going to need assurance, and Roman says, they acknowledge the Corinthos organization holds these ports. Their goal isn’t trouble with him; merely to ship their goods using his facilities. His superiors need assurances from him too. Sonny says, tell him what they are, and he’ll see if he can accommodate them, and Roman says, their biggest concern is discretion. They need to know the details of their operation won’t be leaked. Sonny says, discretion is mutual. He doesn’t want any blowback to him or his organization. And he doesn’t want anything to happen to any innocent civilians. Meet those conditions, and they won’t have a problem. Roman opens the briefcase, and Dex puts his hand on his gun. Roman turns the case toward Sonny, and we see it’s filled with stacks of money. Roman asks if this is enough assurance for Sonny, and Sonny says, it’s a start.

Gladys tells Selina, like she said, it was a streak of bad luck. She can recoup her losses in no time, if Selina will just have her back. Selina says, of course (🍷) she will. She’s thrilled Gladys is enjoying her poker games. The other players say she has a knack of livening up the room. Gladys says she loves those guys; they have a lot of fun. Selina says, so she’ll see Gladys at the next one? and Gladys says, the truth is, she’s running low on cash. Add that to what she owes Selina… Selina says, perhaps they can work something out.

Sasha tells Chase that she’s definitely headed in the right direction, but she doesn’t think she’s quite at the finish line yet. And shockingly, things have been pretty good with Gladys at the helm. She was nervous at first. The thought of a guardianship without Brando seemed impossible. He was pretty much the only one she trusted with her life. He says, Gladys is doing a good job? and she says, better than good. It’s actually brought them closer together. He says, who would have thought? and she says, not her. She just wishes it didn’t take a tragedy to make it happen. He says, life is kind of bizarre that way, isn’t it? Sometimes it takes something horrible to make you appreciate everything you had to begin with. She says, just so there’s no misunderstanding, he has her. She’ll always be in his corner. He says, right back at her.

Drew and Carly compare a photo, and Drew says, this is definitely not the guy. Carly wonders if they’re wasting their time looking for Josiah. What are the odds Harmony told him anything? He says, they’re running out of options. He already did a search on babies and pregnant women that went missing in the tri-state area, and he got nothing there. He doesn’t understand how a child disappears with no record of it. His phone rings, and he says, this is Aurora; he has to take this. He goes into the other room, and Carly compares the next photo. It’s a match, and she says, well, hello Josiah.

Cody says he’s telling Britt this because he’s hoping maybe to convince her to give them another chance. Britt laughs, then says, sorry; that just came out. What she meant to say is, why would she? He lied to her. He manipulated her… He says he knows, and he’s so, so sorry for all of it. He knows people say this all the time, but it’s true. If he could go back, he would. The more time he spent with her, the more he enjoyed it, enjoyed her. Who wouldn’t? She’s incredible. There’s no excuse for his actions. She says, no there isn’t, and he says he did start developing real feelings for her. By the time they found the necklace, he almost didn’t care about it anymore. She says, almost, and he says, what he really cared about is her. He didn’t know what to do. All of a sudden, the thing he’d been chasing was standing right in front of him, and he just let it go; it didn’t feel right. He didn’t want lose her either. She says, he wanted to have his cake and eat it too, and he says, the joke was on him because he ended up losing both. Unless he didn’t. He sees now how wrong his actions were; how his agenda came between them, and the real thing. What they were building was the real thing, and he thinks they could get back to if she’d let them. Unless he’s off base, and she disagrees that what they were building between them was real. She says, it was, and there’s a part of her that wishes they could get it back. He says, then just listen to that part, and forget the rest, but she says she can’t. He used her. He says he knows it’s messed up, but doesn’t it count for something that he’s owning it? She says, it does. The fact that he came to her with his heart on his sleeve, that takes guts, and she appreciates it. He says, but it’s not enough, and she says, just so they’re clear, she knows what it’s like to make mistakes, huge life-altering ones. She’s not being hypocritical here; she just can’t. He tells her, she keeps saying can’t like there’s something keeping them from giving this another shot. From where he’s standing, it’s just him and her. So what is it? What’s keeping them from seeing how good they could be together?

Maxie asks how long Brook hasn’t been feeling well, and Brook says, it’s been a while. She remembers feeling particularly bad the day Chase ended things. As if life wasn’t crappy enough, she had to get sick on top of it. Maxie asks what her symptoms are, aside from no energy, headaches, and lack of sleep, and Brook says she’s basically lost interest in everything, even things she loves, like her job. Maxie says, good to know. What else? Brook says, her chest is all tight, she has a stomachache, and her eyes are all watery; she’ll just start crying out of nowhere. She read online that could be a sign of pesticide poisoning. Does Maxie think Olivia is sneaking in non-organic products? Maxie says she doesn’t think Olivia is Brook’s problem, and Brook says she’s not pregnant if that’s what Maxie is thinking. Maxie says she wasn’t going to go there, and Brook asks, then what’s wrong with her? Maxie says, Brook isn’t sick; she’s in love.

Sasha asks if Chase is going to tell her what happened between him and Brook at the Gingerbread Jam, and he asks, what makes her think something happened? She says, they were all worried he wasn’t going to show for the performance, and then there he was at the last minute. He says, very astute, and she says she tries. He says he found out that Brook did something for him, and she says, very vague. He says he tries. Brook finally submitted a letter on his behalf to the CCRB. She says she thought the meeting already happened, and the Board made their decision, and he says, it did, but apparently they read the letter anyway, and agreed to revisit his case. She says, that’s amazing, and he says, that’s no guarantee, but who knows? At least there’s still a chance. She says, thanks to Brook, and he says, it appears that way. She says, so… Does that change things for him, knowing what Brook did?

Selina takes Gladys’s hands, and says, Gladys has dug a deep hole for herself, with no means to repay it. Gladys takes out her earrings, and says, what about… These should cover part of it, right? Selina says, they aren’t cubic zirconia? but Gladys says, they’re the real deal. Selina takes the earrings, and Gladys says, andif Selina will just extend her credit for one more game, she’ll win back the rest. Selina says she’d be happy to, and Gladys says, she would? Selina says, of course (🍷). How else will Gladys break that bad luck streak? But be warned. Her line of credit is only good for one game. After that, all bets are off… pun intended.

Carly compares the pictures, and says, that’s definitely him. She takes the background check with the photo attached, and puts it in her bag. Drew comes out, and says, Carly? She says she was just getting her lip balm; her lips were dry from the cold. He says, they felt soft to him, but she says, now they’re better. He kisses her, and says he believes she’s right. How long did Michael say Wiley’s time out was? She says, 30 minutes, and he kisses her again. She says she doesn’t want Wiley to come down and see something he shouldn’t, and he says, she’s right. They need time together, completely alone. Meanwhile, any luck when he was on his call? She says, unfortunately, no. They knew it was going to be a long shot. He says, it doesn’t make any sense. How does a child go missing, and no one files a report? If it was his child, he’d be banging on doors, and calling up news stations trying to find his kid. It’s as if this baby vanished and nobody gave a damn. She says, their theory, that Harmony took Willow from her parents, is just that; a theory. Maybe something else happened. He says, like what? This guy – he picks up Josiah’s photo – is the only answer, and who knows where he is? it’s almost like there’s another angle, and they’re not seeing it. Carly says, they’re going to have to put a stop to this.

At the hospital, Willow tells Michael that she really wants to go home; she’s exhausted. He says, this is important, and brings her over to the infant viewing window. He tells her, look at the newborns. She says, they’re beautiful, and he says, in the not too distant future, one of them will be theirs. And they’re going to be standing here not thinking about cancer or chemo, but how perfect their little girl is. Willow says, she’s going to be perfect, and he says, just look at her mom.

Brook tells Maxie, that’s ridiculous. She’s not in love. Does she care about Chase? Yes, a lot, but they haven’t been together long enough for her to fall in love. Maxie says, it doesn’t take long, and Brook says, a couple months, but Maxie says, they’ve been together longer than that. Brook faked having his baby, they lived together, Chase punched out two guys for her. Brook says she remembers, and Maxie says, now he’s gone and Brook feels terrible. Brook says, it’s the hardest she’s ever taken a break-up. The guilt she feels over hurting Chase is next level, and this feeling of emptiness; she can’t shake it. Oh God. She’s in love with Chase. Maxie says, Brook tells her like she didn’t say that exact thing to her, and Brook says she guesses she’s never been in love before. That’s so sad. Maxie says, it is, but she thinks Brook was waiting for the real thing. Brook says, she finally finds it, and promptly throws it away. Does Maxie think Chase is in love with her too?

Chase says, he and Brook are done, and Sasha says, so he showed up at the Gingerbread Jam as a thank you? He says, and because it was the right thing to do. He made a promise to Brook to help take down her ex-manager. Not just for Brook’s sake, but for every up and coming artist he intends to prey on. And he’s committed to see it through. She says, sounds like the Chase she knows. So is Brook clear on where they stand? He says he told her their relationship was strictly professional, and they will never be in a romantic relationship again, but Sasha says, never say never.

Roman and Sonny shake hands, and Roman says, they’ll be in touch about getting things underway. Sonny says he’s looking forward to it, as long as the conditions are met, and Roman gives Sonny the briefcase. He leaves, and Sonny gives the briefcase to Frank, saying, he knows what to do with this. Frank takes it and leaves, and Dex says, that’s not how he expected this meeting to go. Sonny asks what he was expecting, and Dex says, for starters, he didn’t think the guy would show up alone. Sonny says, these guys are confident. They’re smooth. That’s why they have to keep an eye on them. Dex says he was also surprised to see the guy was ex-military, and Sonny asks how he knows that.  

Britt tells Cody that she didn’t even want to use the stupid match-making service. Her mother got a subscription to Society Set-Ups, and then nagged her until she used it; she just finally caved. He asks if she regrets it, and she says, if he’s asking if she regrets meeting him, no. But this – her voice breaks – just wasn’t meant to be. Maybe if things were different… She cries a little, and he says he gets it. He made one too many mistakes; maybe more than one too many. She says, for the record, it means a lot that he came to her, even if it doesn’t change anything. She tells him, goodbye, opens the door, and leaves.

Drew tells Carly, he can’t stop. He promised Willow that he’d find her birth parents. She says she doesn’t mean stop for good. They can just take a little break, then come back to it with fresh eyes. He asks, what kind of break are they talking about? and she says she remembers a certain someone gave her a key for Christmas. He says, that does ring a bell, and she suggests they use that key, and get away. Go somewhere where they can be alone, and do what they want. He says he’s seeing real wisdom in this plan, and they kiss. She says she’s going to check on Wiley, and goes upstairs. Drew calls Brian, and says he wasn’t able to determine Josiah’s identity, so he needs Brian to question every Josiah in the area. And do not stop until he finds the right one.

Michael says he knows he and Willow are going through a dark time right now, but there’s light at the end of the tunnel. She tells him, when he says it, she actually believes it. He says, believe it. He loves her. She says she loves him too, and he says, and Wiley loves her, and their daughter loves her. Is she sensing a theme here? She says, that’s a lot of love, and he says, there’s nothing more important in the whole world. The four of them have a long life ahead of them, full of joy, hope, and laughter. He needs her to not lose sight of that. She says she won’t if he doesn’t, and he says, deal.

Britt meets Selina in a private lounge area at the MetroCourt, and Selina says, she’s late. Britt says, sorry; she was held up. Did Selina get it? Selina says she did, but it’s going to cost Britt.

Sasha says, she’s just telling Chase that it’s not outside the realm of possibilities that he and Brook get back together, but he says he’s not there yet. And honestly, he doesn’t know if he ever will be. She says, fair enough. Whatever the future holds, she has faith it will all work out for the best. He deserves it. He says, her too, and they hug.

Maxie tells Brook that she can’t speak for Chase, but as an outside observer, he did step up for her time and time again. If he wasn’t in love with her, he certainly cared – a lot. Brook says she’s the worst, and Maxie says, there is a silver lining. Now that Brook knows how she feels, there’s only one thing to do. Brook says, go to the store, and stock up on ice cream, but Maxie says, no. If Brook really loves Chase, she’s got to win him back.

Gladys comes back, and Sasha says, that was a long trip to the bathroom. Everything okay? Gladys says, yes. She just got sidelined by a phone call. Is Sasha ready? Sasha says she’s just got to check on a friend real quick, and then they can go. She leaves, and hostess Trish brings the check. Gladys takes out Sasha’s credit card. I think we know where her thought process is going.

Britt tells Selina that she’s prepared to hold up her end of the bargain. After tomorrow night, Selina has her word, she’ll never see Brad again. Selina says, Britt has given her word before, and turned on her. How does she know it won’t happen again? Britt says, Selina has that information over her. If Britt double-crosses her, Selina can release it. Selina gives her an envelope, and says, it’s everything Britt asked for. Britt takes out a passport, and driver’s license with the name Rita Jenkins on them, and Selina says, all the documents Britt needs… to disappear.

Dex tells Sonny, trust him. He knows ex-military when he sees it, and that guy was. Sonny says, Pikeman does private military contracting. Maybe they’re promoting from within. Dex says, Pikeman Security Group? and Sonny asks if he knows them. Dex says, among others. They encountered a lot of private contractors when they were in the service. They knew to steer clear of them. Sonny asks if Dex is worried about him. Don’t be. They’ll get everything under control, and the payoff is going to be huge. Dex will see.

Tomorrow, Victor asks why Nikolas isn’t fighting for his son; Laura wonders why something sounds like a threat; Obrecht says she betrayed Britt’s trust; and Trina says, this has to end.

💎 She Should Know…

Teddi’s certainly had a lot to say about the show since she got the boot. Does anyone really care what she thinks?

Sonny finds Carly working at a table in the MetroCourt, and says she left so early, he didn’t get a chance to say good morning. She says, good morning. Christmas will be there before they know it, and it’s on a Saturday, so she thinks they’ll be busier than ever. She looks at her phone, and says, what? She tells Sonny that she just got an email from her supplier, and there’s a shortage of marzipan. She has to talk to the chef; she’ll be back. She leaves, and Celina comes in. She says, Sonny’s wife certainly throws herself into her work, doesn’t she? He says, the holidays are busy, and Celina says, true. She supposes she’d fill up her days with work too, if she’d lost a good friend like Jason. She trusts Sonny is keeping himself busy too.

Peter wakes with a start in his cell, and says, who’s there? The guard tells him, take it easy. He has a visitor. Peter says, no visitors, unless there’s bullet-proof glass between them, but the guard says, relax; it’s law enforcement. Anna comes in, and asks Peter, what’s wrong? Did he have a bad dream?

Brook opens the door to Chase, and asks, what’s wrong? He says, what isn’t? He hates being suspended from work. It was one thing when he was sick, but he feels useless. She says she gets it, and she’s so sorry. He says he can’t stop thinking about the look on Willow’s face when she found out he was the father to Brook’s baby, and Brook says, just for clarification, she didn’t make him do that. It was his choice. He says it was all he could think of to protect Maxie’s secret. That’s the most important thing, right? Keeping Peter from finding out Bailey is really Louise? She asks if he’s there to face the music, even if it means Willow will never speak to him again, but he says, no. He’s there to step up. To assume the role of Bailey’s father. Everyone has to believe he’s the real deal, so he’s going to start changing diapers, and playing with Bailey, and doing what any proud papa would do.

Brando adjusts Sasha’s covers, and she wakes up and kisses his cheek. He says, good morning. She’s in a good mood this morning. She says, isn’t he? and he says he’s a little stiff from sleeping in the chair. She says she thinks it’s a small price to pay to wake up and face this day together. Can he believe it? Today is the day their baby will be coming home.

Nina asks Britt if there are any updates on Sasha’s baby, but Britt says they’re still on hold, and if she had information… Maxie says they understand; it’s confidential, family only. She can only imagine what’s going through their minds right now; hoping for the best, and worried the worst might happen. The hardest part is not knowing. Britt takes Maxie’s hand, and says she still has faith Louise is going to come home to her. Maxie thanks her, and says she has faith too. Of course (🍷) Louise might already be home if Nina had just called the police when Peter showed up in Nixon Falls. Nina says, maybe she should just go to Crimson, but Maxie says she won’t have any of that. There’s no point in second guessing anything. Choices were made. Peter will get what’s coming to him, and her baby will come home. Britt says she truly hopes so, but at what cost? and Maxie says, whatever it takes.

Willow tells Michael that Wiley was hoping daddy had some time to help pick out a Christmas tree for the gatehouse today. Michael says, maybe tomorrow, and Willow says, so he hasn’t changed his mind about appearing at Brad’s parole hearing? He says, it’s his duty as Wiley’s father. He’s going to do whatever he can to make sure Brad never comes near their son again.

Sonny tells Celina that he instructed his friend on the board to vote in favor of Brad’s parole, but she has to understand something. Michael wants to be at that hearing. He wants Brad to serve out his full sentence. So Sonny doesn’t know what guarantee she has of things going her way. She says, things might be different if Jason were around to guarantee it, but he says, Jason might not be able to influence Michael any more than he would. She says, admirable, but she has to think others might be influenced by Jason’s presence, if he was still around. She’s avoided talking about this topic out of respect. She thinks it’s in everyone’s interest if Sonny just… He asks if she’s saying they should move on, and Carly comes out. She says, move on from what?

Sasha tells Brando, it feels like she’s been counting every second for the last 71 hours and – she looks at her phone – and 42 minutes. All the stress will be worth it when Britt and the other doctors say the therapy to cool Liam’s brain worked, and the EEG confirmed it. He rubs her hand, and she puts her hand on top of his. He asks if he’s rubbing her too hard, and she says, he’s done everything right. From holding her hand to making her laugh to sending her pictures of their sweet little boy, so she can be reminded what it’s all about. She loves this one. She shows him her phone.

Willow says she knows Michael is committed to keeping Wiley safe, just like she is. That’s their first priority. He says, but? and she says, but if his dad is willing to give Brad another chance… He says, this is just a business move for his dad. Brad’s Aunt Celina is a business associate of his father’s, and he thinks she can keep Brad away from Wiley, but Michael doesn’t agree. She says, she doesn’t claim to know all the ins and outs of his dad’s business, but it doesn’t seem smart for Brad’s aunt to break her word with his dad. He says, that might have been true before, when Jason was still there, but now that he’s gone, the level of enforcement is gone. She says she knows he’s grieving for Jason, so why don’t they forget about the parole hearing today? Forget Brad, forget Nina, and forget everyone else Michael thinks he has to protect them from. Let’s enjoy today. The three of them have a chance to shop for a Christmas tree. Wiley’s old enough to really enjoy that. Let’s celebrate that. Brook and Chase walk in.

Anna says Peter looks like something scared him half to death, and he says, not something, someone. Sonny Corinthos has all but put a bullseye on his back. Anna says, it’s hard to believe there’s room for yet another target, and he says, look around. Which one of the guards is on his payroll? Even in solitary he doesn’t feel safe. Not with a Corinthos hit out on him.

Sonny tells Carly, they were just discussing Celina’s nephew’s parole hearing, and Celina says she hopes they can move forward from the mistakes in judgement Bradley made. Carly says she knows Sonny has agreed not to interfere with Brad’s parole as a favor to Celina, but her son has a mind of his own, and plans on testifying against Brad at the hearing. Celina says, these situations have a way of sorting themselves out, as her husband knows. Sonny flashes back to telling Celina that his family is best served with Peter taken care of, so see to it that it happens. Sonny says, as long as everyone keeps up his or her end of the bargain, they’re good. Celina says, consider it done, and leaves. Carly says she always liked Celina. As the only woman running one of the families, she’s tough and she’s fair, but business is business, right? He says, agreed, and she asks, exactly what bargain did she walk in on just now.

Nina goes into Sasha’s room, and says, this isn’t fair. No one should look this beautiful after a C-section. Sasha says she has her new stylist to thank for that, looking at Brando, and Nina says they’ll just have to add that to Brando’s list of talents. Georgie forgot her lunch, so Maxie had to bring it to her, but she’ll be here in a second. She asks if there’s anything Brando can’t do, and Sasha says, if there is, she hasn’t discovered it yet. Lucy walks in, and says, hello there. She comes bearing goodies she got past the nurses station. She didn’t want to face the wrath of Epiphany, but guess what? She pulls out a bag, and says, Sasha’s favorite; gummi bears. Brando says it looks like he’s literally the odd man out, so he’ll leave Sasha with her friends. Sasha says, if he sees Britt, send her in right away, and he promises. He leaves, and TJ sees him getting in the elevator.

Brook says Chase has a lot to learn. Can they believe this guy doesn’t even know the name of their diaper service? Willow says she just thinks they’re lucky to be able to afford to use one. Cloth diapers are so much better for the environment than disposable ones. Chase says he couldn’t agree more. Violet was way past the diaper stage when she came into Finn’s life. This is all new to him. Michael says, too bad he didn’t come forward as Bailey’s dad. Instead, Chase focused on making Willow feel guilty for wanting to be with him and Wiley while she was married to him. I used to not like Michael because he was boring; now I don’t like him because he’s a jerk. Chase says he didn’t come forward because he didn’t know, and Michael says, but he did know he slept with Brook around the same time she got pregnant. The fact that he didn’t ask is a pretty clear indication that he just didn’t want to know. Brook picks up the monitor, and asks if Chase heard that. Bailey really needs them. Chase says, here’s the deal. The other day when Michael and Willow rushed off to be with Sasha and Brando, it was before they could deal with this news, but they can’t keep avoiding this forever. Is there any way they can get past this?

Anna says she’s not going to deny she has some satisfaction in seeing Peter like this, but the reality is, he’s safer there than the gold in Fort Knox. He says, Sonny wants him dead, and she says, she’s sure he does; so do a lot of people. But Sonny’s hands are tied. He knows that since he got back to town, he’s been in the spotlight. Peter asks if she really expects him to believe there’s no credible threat on his life, and she says, Sonny is too smart to risk it. Trust her. Sonny knows law enforcement has been watching his every move. Still, they both know Peter has made a lot of enemies. He says, meaning what? and she says, meaning, if he wants to stay alive, he’s going to have to save himself.

Sonny says, Celina suggested it’s time they start thinking about replacing Jason, and Carly says, replace Jason? That’s impossible. He’s… Sonny says, irreplaceable. She says he knows that, and he says, Jason was like a brother to him, but like his dad always said, the graveyards are full of indispensable men, and Jason was one of them. She says she knows, and Sonny is irreplaceable. Nothing was the same, or could be the same, without him. She means that. Sonny says, she had to carry on for the family and the life they built together. Nobody understood that more than Jason, but when he came back, it threw him that they were together. It doesn’t matter, because there was a void, and Jason had to fill it. Now that he’s gone, because of how much they loved him, and how much he loved them, they have to do the same.

Lucy says, Deception has been doing absolutely great lately, and it’s largely because of Sasha’s role as the Face of Conception. The public is so excited, and everything is turning out so well. There’s a financial institution that really wants to get behind them, so – drumroll – they’re thinking of taking the company public. They’ll all get their initial investment back, not to mention, Sasha has to think about the future. Sasha says, it sounds very exciting, and she’s glad Lucy shared the news with her, but the only future that matters to her right now is lying in an incubator in the NICU.

Britt calls Dr. Fleming to confirm they can go ahead with the EEG on Liam. She says, great. Please send her the results as soon as she gets them.

In the chapel, Brando kneels, and says he doesn’t know what he’s doing. He can’t remember the last time he came to church. He certainly can’t remember the last time he made a confession. Liam has opened his heart in so many ways he never thought possible. He doesn’t know why Liam was born with so many obstacles to overcome. TJ stands in the doorway and listens, and Brando says he guesses that’s why he’s there. Until he can hold Liam in his arms, will God make sure Liam feels loved, and feels safe? Let him know that his mom and dad are here for him, and always will be, and they need him too. He crosses himself and gets up, seeing TJ.

Britt asks what brings Nina back to her office, and Nina says, she thinks there were some things they didn’t get a chance to say last night. Or more accurately, avoided saying. Britt says she was just trying to be gracious, and avoid having this conversation. Nina says, Britt is a doctor. She knows it’s not healthy to stuff those feelings deep down inside. Britt says, no, but talking about it isn’t going to change anything. So what’s the point? Nina asks if Britt doesn’t want to say it to her face; that her life could have been different if Nina had just told  the truth about Peter. Britt says, okay. Nina wants to go down that road, they’ll go down that road. Why didn’t Nina call the cops when Peter showed up in Nixon Falls?

Michael asks why Willow should make it easier for Chase. Chase wanted them to feel guilty for being in love, and the whole time he knew he’d slept with Brook. Brook says, Michael is her cousin and she loves him, but she’s not going to let him call Chase out for this. He didn’t lie about being Bailey’s father; he didn’t know because Brook deliberately kept it from him. She needed to get her ELQ shares back from Valentin, and couldn’t think of another way. So if he’s looking to blame someone, blame her. Willow says she knows how betrayed Chase felt when he learned about her and Michael, but eventually he was able to make peace with it. She’d be a hypocrite if she didn’t do the same with him. But Brook is a whole different story.

Peter asks Anna what she expects him to do now. What deal could he possibly cut? She tells him, who said anything about a deal? He has to confess. He says she can’t possibly mean that, but she says he has to own up to everything he’s done. Every single crime, and they’re not going to stop there. He’s going to give up his rights to his daughter, so that Maxie can have some peace of mind that somewhere down the line, whoever has Louise will return her. In more simple terms, he has to take his punishment, and he has to do it like a man. He asks why he’d do all of that, and she says, because if he faces up to it and stops all his endless games, maybe, just maybe, there’s something she can do for him.

Carly says no one could ever replace Sonny; Jason didn’t even try. And now, there’s no way they can replace Jason. It’s impossible. Sonny could find someone to take on Jason’s responsibilities, someone he trusts, but they’re just going to be following in Jason’s footsteps, right? Sonny can’t replace Jason, and if he thinks he can, he really did change while he was in Nixon Falls.

Lucy says she’s sorry. She thinks it was just her misguided way of taking Sasha’s mind off things for a little minute. Being a mom is tough, huh? It’s sometimes the most healing, breathtakingly beautiful thing in the world, and other times, it breaks your heart. She doesn’t talk about this too much, but she had several miscarriages, and wanted to be a mom so badly. She’s not the only woman in the world who ever had a miscarriage, but that’s why she’s so grateful, because her friend Dominique asked her to carry Serena, and also asked her to help raise Serena with Scotty. She can’t tell Sasha what that meant to her, and even though her girl is living all the way across the ocean, Serena will always be her daughter, in every way that counts. What she’s trying to say is, she knows this is overwhelming and so hard, but eventually, somehow you manage to cherish each and every moment, no matter how very, very scary. Sasha thanks her, and says she’s trying to do that; cherish every single moment.

TJ says he didn’t man to intrude. He heard Brando’s baby is in the NICU, and wanted to see if Brando was okay. There was a time they used to be friends, then stuff happened. Brando says, TJ rearranged his jaw, and TJ says he hopes they’re past that now. He saw Sasha’s friends in her room talking, and thought, if Brando needed someone to talk to… Brando says he was actually talking to someone, and TJ asks if they talked back. They laugh, and Brando says his mom wanted to be an altar boy so bad. Father Hogan would make him say ten Hail Marys and run ten laps if he made a joke like that. TJ says, his Aunt Stella would have made him wash his mouth out with soap for sure. Brando thanks TJ for making him forget for two minutes that his son’s in the NICU fighting for his life. All he can do is wait for him to win.

Nina tells Britt that Peter was blackmailing her. He said he’d hurt James. He also said he was going to tell Carly that Sonny was alive and well Nixon Falls. Britt says, and avoiding trouble with Carly was more important than making sure Peter was stopped. Nina says she thought she could do both, and Britt says, by turning to her mother instead of the police? Nina says, in retrospect, she knows what she did was wrong. She was desperate and needed someone she could trust and confide in. It was Obrecht’s idea to go after Peter, and Britt knows better than anyone else, once Obrecht gets something in her mind, there’s no stopping her. Britt says, too bad Nina didn’t think of that before she got her mother involved. Nina says she’s sorry, and Britt says, Nina does realize, she could have gotten her mother killed. Nina says she does. She loves Obrecht. At least Peter’s in prison. Britt says, Jason is dead, and Nina says Carly believes his blood is on her hands. She’s sure Britt does too.

Chase says Brook didn’t tell him because she knew how he felt about Willow. She kept silent about Bailey’s paternity so they could be together. Willow says, there’s a little more to it than that. She also did it so the Quartermaines could regain control of ELQ. Michael says, that’s what they were taught their entire lives; put the company first. Willow says, obviously, she grew up with a warped idea of what family is supposed to be. She thought other families, real families were different. Maybe not this one. Chase tells Brook that he came to see their daughter, and she suggests they go upstairs. Willow asks them to wait. She says, their kids are around the same age. They’re both Quartermaines, so they’re going to grow up together. She can’t speak for Michael, but for the kids’ sake, she promises to get past this. Brook thanks her, and says she hopes Michael can forget about it too.

Peter can’t believe Anna would suggest he give up his parental rights to Louise. That would mean giving up all hope of being a family with Maxie. Anna says, come on. That was an illusion; it died a long time ago. He says, Louise and Maxie are what keep him human. He won’t give them up. The guard says, time’s up, and Anna says, that means Peter’s arraignment is starting soon. All the pain he’s caused, all the lives he’s ruined and cut short, that isn’t good enough for him. The trouble with her is, she still believes in the justice system. If he owns what he’s done, she’ll do what she can. She leaves.

Sonny says he can’t say the time away from Carly didn’t change him. But when he came back, it wasn’t to pick up where they left off; he wanted them to get closer and just be better for their kids. She says she wants that too. It doesn’t matter what Celina Wu wants, or the people who think they know what’s best for them. They know what’s best. They know what they want. He says he wants her, and she says, she wants him; only him. No one’s here; we’re not open yet. He asks if she thinks that’s going to stop him, and kisses her.

TJ tells Brando, try not to let his imagination get the best of him. Enjoy the fact that Sasha survived a difficult birth, and she’s doing better. Focus on the positive. Brando says, the tests will also come when they come. He thanks TJ, and says he’s been trying to do that. They walk to Sasha’s room, and Brando says, when he left, Sasha’s friends had her laughing. They go in, and Sasha says, Lucy was just showing her the latest Deception baby care products. Lucy says, organic, hypo-allergenic, of course (🍷), and adorable if she does say so herself. Brando says he hates to ruin the party, but they should be hearing from the doctors soon. Lucy says, she didn’t know she’d been there that long, and hugs Sasha. She says she’s rooting for Sasha; for all of them. Then she says, bye, instead of ta, and I puzzle over this longer than I should. TJ says Brando has his number. If he has any questions with medical lingo or anything, call him. Brando says he appreciates it, and TJ leaves. Sasha says, Lucy did a terrific job of distracting her, but they can’t avoid it any longer. It’s almost time, right?

Britt says she’s not playing the blame game with Nina. Nina made choices, and so did she. She’s pretty sure if Nathan was still here, he’d probably tell her to go pay it forward, and go help Nina. Nina thanks her, saying, she sounds exactly like Jay. Britt says, if she can come back, so can Nina. Nina says, Britt will be there for her? and Britt says, Nathan wouldn’t have it any other way. Britt’s phone rings, and she says she’ll be right there. Nina asks if it’s news about Sasha’s baby.

Brook says, that went well, and Chase says, as opposed to what? A firing squad? She says, they have to take what they can get. It seems like Willow is going to give him a pass, whereas everyone thinks she’s the next Cruella de Vil. Chase says he hopes Brook knows what she’s doing is very noble, and she says, that’s not exactly a word used to describe her – ever. He says, one day, her family will know the good thing she’s done, but while Peter is still a potential threat to Maxie and Louise, they’re in this. She says, what other choice could they have made?

Michael kisses Willow, and she says she’s not complaining, but what was that for? He says he’s amazed at how generous she is, and willing to forgive. She says, let’s be clear. Forgiving Chase is one thing. Brook is a whole other story. Michael says, that’s going to be a longer road for sure, and Willow says, while they’re on the topic of forgiveness, if she forgave Chase, and hopefully soon, Brook, does he think he could find it in his heart to forgive Brad?

Peter’s breakfast is slid into the opening in the door by an inmate worker, but he says he doesn’t trust it. The guard says, fine; they’ll give it to the next inmate. It’s removed, and Peter says, wait. Bring it back. The inmate puts the tray back, and Peter takes it.

Carly says, the happiest day of her life was when Sonny came back, and Sonny says, that makes two of them. It all started with the dreams. A blonde woman in the dream; then she became a reality.

Michael says he has to feel consistent, and do what he can to keep his family safe, and that includes keeping Brad in prison and away from their son. The same rules apply to Nina. This is a black and white subject for him; there’s nothing grey about it. Willow flashes back to hearing Sonny tell Nina, that what happened in Nixon Falls has to come from him – and it will. She remembers Nina saying that the love she and Sonny shared was the purest thing she’s known in her life, and she’s so sorry, but she can never regret that. Michael says he understands how Willow can give Chase a pass, and someday forgive Brook. He also gets that she and Brad were close in the past, but he can’t help but wonder how she’s so forgiving about Nina.

Brando says he knows he and Sasha can lean on each other, but it’s nice having friends who can back them up too. Sasha says, when the doctors give them the news, they’ll deal with that. Whatever it takes to give Liam a long and happy life. Starting today. Dr. Fleming and Britt come in, but they don’t look happy. Britt closes the door.

Brook asks if Chase is ready for some diaper changing 101, and he says he’s up for the challenge. He thinks with a little practice, he could be good. He does hope for Maxie’s sake, all the lies stop soon. She says, her too, and they head upstairs. She says, it isn’t enough that Peter’s in custody. It seems that Maxie and her baby won’t be safe until Peter is dead and buried.

Sonny says the second he remembered Carly, he remembered all of it, and all he wanted to do was come home. He just wanted to be with her, his family, and his life. This is where he belongs; this is his home. Anna comes in, and says, she’s sorry to interrupt. She tells Carly that she just wanted to say how sorry she is about Jason. Carly thanks her, and tells Sonny that she has some things she needs to do. She goes behind the bar, and Celina comes in. Carly says, she’s back, and Celina says, the more she thought about it, the more she recognized that the subject of Jason might have caused a miscommunication. But it’s all about wanting to protect Carly and her family. That’s what she and Sonny both want, right?

Anna says, if Sonny wanted to put the fear of God in Peter, mission accomplished. She just came from Pentenville, so can he leave it at that, and let the law run its course? He says she gives him too much credit. Peter is behind bars 24/7, with guards. Even if he wanted to get his hands dirty, how would he do it?

Peter finishes his breakfast, and starts choking. He falls to the floor.

The inmate worker brings back empty trays, and wheels them away. We see it’s Brad.

On Monday, Stella asks TJ what’s going on with Curtis, Trina tells Portia that she doesn’t want to blow this, Epiphany tells Maxie that it’s a bad idea, and Sonny thinks Carly deserves to know the truth.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Spencer asks if Ava thinks they can put the past behind them and start fresh. Is it possible they can declare a truce? He holds out his hand, and she hesitates for a moment, but takes it, and they shake. She says she appreciates the offer, but he doesn’t have to worry about forging a relationship with her. She’s out of Nikolas’s life now. He says, it didn’t look that way a little while ago.

Jason comes into the MetroCourt, and asks if Carly is ready to go. She asks if he’s ready for this, and he says, for Wiley’s birthday party? Sure. He managed to get all the gifts in the car. She says, there weren’t that many, and he gives her a face. She says he knows what she’s talking about. This is their first family thing as a couple. He asks if she’s nervous.

Michael knocks at the gatehouse door, and Willow motions him in. He hands her some cellophane tape, and she thanks him, saying, she thought she’d have to break out the masking tape. He says he’s surprised he found any, considering the mounds of presents and all the decorations. She asks if they’re spoiling him, and he says, absolutely, but it’s Wiley’s birthday, so they get a pass. They’ll let him have all his presents and balloons… She says, don’t forget about cupcakes, and he says Wiley reminded him this morning. Now everything’s all set for their birthday boy.

Brook comes in to find Chase messing with some balloons, and says, look at him. She looks around the room, and says, look at this. He says, this is Olivia’s work. He followed her around with a tape dispenser. It is funny how Brook reappeared just when the decorating is finished. She says, timing is everything. She sent Yuri down to help. He says, good thing. He couldn’t help hang the banner for anything. She says, it will happen soon enough, and he says, not soon enough for him. He can’t wait to walk up to Willow, and show her that he’s back.

Shawn meets Sam in the park, and she hands him some coffee. She says she hopes he didn’t mind meeting her there. She had to drop Scout off at Lila’s Kids. He says he loves it outdoors; he can’t get enough of it. She says she’s the same way, and it sure beats the exercise at Pentenville. He asks why she wanted to meet, and she says she’s afraid she has bad news.

There’s a knock at Elizabeth’s door, and she lets in Nikolas, who asks if she’s okay. She sounded stressed on the phone. She mentioned Hayden; has she heard from her? She says, unfortunately, no. He asks, what’s going on? and she says Sam was there, asking about the time Hayden was shot. It made her remember something. He says, dammit. He knew this was going to happen.

Chase tells Brook, Willow is at the gatehouse and he’s upstairs. He doesn’t feel like they can start their life together yet. He’s so sick of this chair; he can’t do anything. She says, excuse me. He’s the one who sang Bailey to sleep, which is more than she can manage, and Bailey loved it. He says, she did seem pretty blissed out, which is puzzling to him since Brook took so long to get her settled. Brook tells him, let it go, and says, this place looks like a birthday party on steroids. They didn’t need her help. Kids Wiley’s age are more interested in the boxes anyway. (Truth!) He bets her 50 bucks it doesn’t hold a candle to the parties she’ll throw for Bailey, and she says, he’s on. They shake, and she says they’ll see if Wiley’s more interested in the gifts or the boxes. Valentin walks in with Austin, and says, look who he found. Brook asks what Austin is doing there.

Elizabeth says, so Nikolas knows what she’s talking about, and he says, Sam spoke to him as well. He told her that he didn’t know where Hayden was, and she should just leave it alone. The last thing he wanted was for Sam to come there and upset Elizabeth with questions about her sister, on top of everything else. She says he’s right; she’s upset. Shawn has spent all those years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. Nikolas says, Alexis explained the situation. Of course (🍷) Shawn shouldn’t pay for a crime he didn’t do, but he pled guilty. She says, now that Shawn denied shooting Hayden, it made her wonder, who did? She remembered something Nikolas said back then; something she didn’t want to believe – that he had Hayden shot.

Ava tells Spencer that she and Nikolas plan to keep their divorce civil and drama free, but make no mistake, the marriage is over. He says, let him guess. Father doesn’t agree. She says, well, he knows his father. He wants what he wants, and doesn’t take no for an answer. Spencer says, sounds like him.

Jason asks who Carly is nervous about seeing. Is it Monica? He talked with her, and they went through all the history with AJ… She says she’s not nervous that way; it’s just the transition. All the family things they’ve gone to over the years, they’re now going as a couple. She was talking to Laura last night, and wondering if it’s too soon after Sonny, and how people’s perception might bother her, how it might diminish her love for Sonny, and how it’s hard for her. She knows they have to get married, and she knows it’s the right thing to do, but it’s difficult. He says, they both know why they’re doing this. They made the best choice they could. So now they just have to move forward with it. She says she’s glad he’s in this with her.

Austin hands Brook a wrapped gift, and says he’s there because Michael invited him. He said it was a family celebration. Brook says, it’s just that he’s early, and he tells her, his mother always said, if you’re on time, you’re late. She says, that makes no sense, and he asks if she argues with her mother. She says, all the time, and he asks if she wins. She says, okay, and puts the gift with the others. Chase introduces himself, and Valentin says he should have made the introductions. Sorry about that. Monica comes in, and says she’s glad Austin could make the family celebration. Has he met everybody? Austin says he has, and Valentin says, so it’s true. Austin is a legitimate Quartermaine?

Michael holds his finger in the middle of the ribbon, and Willow makes a bow. I have to say, I’ve never made a bow that way, or seen anyone else do it. She says, and that’s that, and he asks if she’s really okay. She says, sure, and he says she’s going out of her way to make sure Wiley’s birthday celebration is happy and joyful, but he knows this is also the anniversary of her son’s death. He’s been thinking about him too. For the longest time, Michael thought Jonah was his son, so it’s a bittersweet day. She says, this morning when she was putting flowers on Jonah’s grave, the birds were singing so loudly, like they were serenading him. He wishes they could have gone together, and she says, Chase was there. Michael is glad she wasn’t alone, and she says, it was Chase who told her that her baby had died. He held her as that awful truth sunk in, and she grieved. He comforted her, and got her through this unimaginable time in her life, and she’ll always be grateful to him, but she wishes Michael had been with her.

A woman goes to Jonah’s grave, and leaves flowers.

Nicholas says, they both know he didn’t shoot Hayden, and Elizabeth says, no, they don’t both know. She remembers that time in The Floating Rib when she asked him point blank if he’d done it, praying he’d say no, but he didn’t. He said he had Hayden shot to protect her. He says, it was a long time ago; emotions were high. She says, Hayden was blackmailing them for the mess she made with Drew, lying to him to hold on to him. Nikolas says, there was plenty of upheaval back then, but when she was able to catch her breath, and asked him about Hayden again, he came clean. He admitted he’d been lying. Doesn’t she remember?

Sam and Shawn sit on a bench, and Sam says, neither Elizabeth or Nikolas know where Hayden is, or know where to find her. Any progress on finding Hayden’s mother? He says, Naomi Dreyfuss is not returning his calls, and Sam says, they’re back to square one. He says, Curtis told him that he’d check his notes from when he originally worked on the case, but he didn’t sound too encouraging. She says, what did they expect? It’s a six year old case. It’s not impossible to turn up new leads, but it’s going to take some time. They’ll have to find some witnesses and try and jog their memories. The ones that are still alive anyway. He says she’s thinking of Drew. First, his name is Jake Doe, then he’s Jason Morgan, then he turns out to be Jason’s twin Drew Cain, the man Sam married and had a child with. She says, it’s pretty ironic, isn’t it? When Shawn was the one who was supposed to kill him that night.

Spencer says he can see his father is struggling without Ava, which is a real change, considering he’d insisted their marriage was a sham, and the only reason he stayed with Ava was to preserve their family money. No offense. She says, none taken. That was exactly how their marriage started. It was a cold-blooded business arrangement. Then she and Nikolas surprised themselves, falling in love along the way. But the stalker has made it clear he won’t stop as long as they’re together, and she won’t risk Avery’s safety. He says, then she’s adamant about going through with the divorce, and she says, whether Nikolas likes it or not. He says, then why does she keep sending his father mixed signals?

Monica says they’re still waiting for the DNA test results, and Valentin says, so this is a case of keeping your enemies close? She says she doesn’t consider Austin an enemy, and Valentin says, Ned and Michael do. A word to the wise, being a Quartermaine is a study in Darwinism, survival of the fittest. Austin says, he tries to stay reasonably fit, and Valentin says, having an ally helps. Monica says, let her guess. That would be him. Warnings, Austin; warnings all around. Valentin says he knows what it’s like to be an outsider in a powerful family, and Brook says she’s been meaning to speak to Valentin about Bailey, and drags him into the foyer. Monica thanks Chase for taking care of the decorations, and asks if she can get anybody something to drink.

In the foyer, Valentin asks if Brook really wanted to talk to him about something, or did she just want to get him away from Austin? She says, it was a big, fat attempt to stop him from sucking up to that interloper, and he says he thought he was the interloper. She tells him, stop. What he needs to do is back off. If Austin is a real Q, does Valentin really think Austin is going to side with him over his family? He says, we’ll see, and she says, overconfident much? He says he usually gets what he wants, and she says, but not always.

Willow tells Michael that they should get the gifts up to the main house. Wiley will be up from his nap soon, and the guests will be arriving. She holds open a bag, and he says, whatever doesn’t fit, he’ll carry. As they put the gifts in the bag, their hands touch, and Willow pulls away. She says, next year, on Wiley’s birthday, Chase will be walking, and they can be together. He says he’ll wake them up with a puppy, and she says, they’ll all cuddle in the bed; the puppy too. They’ll come down and make birthday pancakes. He says, they’ll see Jonah and hear the birds. They’ll have a birthday celebration with family, and when Wiley’s worn out, they’ll put him and the puppy to bed, and it’s their turn. She says, next year, and he says, next year, and they start kissing.

Elizabeth tells Nikolas, she remembers both conversations. The first one weighed on her. Then she remembers calling and asking him to meet her at work. He says, they talked in the stairwell so no one would hear them. We flash back to Elizabeth telling Nikolas that she hasn’t been able to sleep since he told her what he did to Hayden. She never asked him to do that. He says, Hayden is going to be fine. She’s talking. She doesn’t know that Jake is Jason. Elizabeth says, he had her shot, but he says, no, he didn’t. He lied. Shawn confessed that he’s the one who shot Hayden. She asks why would Nikolas say he did it? and he says, it’s stupid. He wanted her to think he’d do anything for her. She asks what she’s supposed to do with that. If he lied, how is she supposed to believe him now? He says, because Shawn confessed. Why would he confess if he’s not guilty? He’s ashamed he lied to her, but he wanted her to love him because he loves her. He sees now that’s not going to happen. In the present, Nikolas says he swallowed his pride and told her the truth. She says, told her the truth, or told her what she wanted to hear? He needs to be honest. They both know Shawn didn’t shoot Hayden. Was it him?

Monica says, Austin has met Chase, and he says he has, and asks where Chase fits in to this Quartermaine puzzle. Chase says he’s Willow’s husband, and Willow is Wiley’s mom. Dr. Quartermaine has been kind enough to let him stay there while he recovers. He tells Monica that he can’t thank her enough, and hopes to be out of there soon, but she tells him that he can stay as long as he wants. She says, Austin is a new doctor on staff at General Hospital. Chase says, that’s great, and Austin says, it is. Monica excuses herself to see if everything is ready, and when she’s gone, Austin slides closer to Chase. He says, from one outsider to another, what does he think about these Quartermaines? Does he have to watch his back like Valentin says?

Valentin says, presently, he has a beautiful new daughter, and he’s the CEO of a company that’s highly profitable, both of which he owes to Brook. She tells him, don’t count your chickens, and he asks if she really thinks the family is going to vote him out. She asks if he thinks he can stop them, and he says he thinks she’s worried he might. He believes she thinks Austin is going to prove himself and side with him, and that’s why she’s watching Austin like a hawk. She asks, who says she’s watching Austin? and Valentin says he does. He can see she’s clearly shaken by that man.

Willow and Michael kiss some more. She starts to walk away, but he pulls her back. Carly knocks at the door, and  Michael and Willow quickly separate. Carly walks in with Jason, and Michael says they were just finishing up with Wiley’s gifts. Carly hugs Willow, saying, she can’t believe Wiley is three. She asks where the birthday boy is, and Willow says, he’s at the main house, probably just waking up from his nap any minute. Carly suggests Michael and Jason take the presents, and she’ll hang out with Willow for a minute. Michael says they can all go together, but Willow tells him to go ahead. Michael and Jason leave with Wiley’s gifts, and Carly asks, what are you two doing?

Brook tells Valentin, she’s not shaken by Austin. As far as she’s concerned, the jury is still out on the guy. Austin delivers Maxie’s baby, and then leaves the crazy nurse to run off with Louise? Valentin says, after being knocked unconscious, and she says, she just wonders if he knows more than he says. He just happens to be hiking at the exact same moment in the exact same place Maxie happens to be having her baby. And then, it just so happens he owns the house where Peter and that crazy henchwoman bring Maxie? Valentin asks if she thinks Austin is involved in Louise’s kidnapping, and she says, she won’t go that far. Let’s just say she’s keeping an eye on the guy.

Chase tells Austin, the Quartermaines have always been good to him. They have strong personalities, but big hearts. Austin says, that’s not their reputation, and Chase says, they’re an intense family. They take some getting used to, but they protect their own and band together when it counts. If Austin’s claim is legit – Austin says, it is – he’ll find his place. He can’t be thin-skinned though. Austin says he’s not afraid of a little bloodletting; he’s a doctor. He asks what Chase does, and Chase says he’s a detective with the PCPD. Austin says, super. Any leads on Maxie’s baby?

Ava tells Spencer that she’s not sending his father mixed signals. She’s been clear that they can’t be together. He says, yet he just saw them in, shall we say, a close moment. She says she didn’t mean for that to happen, and he says, it doesn’t matter what she intends. It matters what she does. She says, excuse me. Didn’t he just approach her requesting a truce? What happened to that olive branch?

Brook asks what they’re talking about, and Austin asks where her better half is. She says, Valentin is feeding Bailey, and Chase says, Austin was just asking about the search for Maxie’s baby, which he can’t talk about. But how lucky was Maxie that he was hiking in the woods when he was? Austin says he’s the lucky one. He’s glad he was there. Maxie did great. The delivery was remarkably simple given the circumstances. It’s only afterwards, that things became problematic, and even then, only for him, because he keeps having this peculiar dream. In the dream, he’s there, and helps Maxie deliver her baby, and gets conked in the head. This is where the peculiar dream gets weird. He keeps hearing these two women talking, which is so weird, because Maxie was alone when he woke up. Chase says, maybe his subconscious heard the fake nurse and Maxie, and Austin says, maybe. Brook looks pretty rattled.

Willow tells Carly that she and Michael are raising Wiley together, that’s all. Carly says she knows her son, and Michael loves her. Is Willow telling her that she doesn’t feel the same? Willow says she couldn’t live with herself if she abandoned Chase when he needed her most, and Carly says, that’s because she’s a kind and loyal person. Carly admires that about her, but sometimes the best of intentions can lead to the worst outcomes. An act of kindness can cause more harm than good. Lord knows, she’s in no position to pass out advice. She’s made more than her share of mistakes, and told more than her share of lies. At the time, she told herself that she had a good reason, and she’s sure Willow does too, but it’s clear she and Jason walked in on something. She’s just glad it was them and not somebody else. Willow has a terrible poker face. It’s almost impossible for Willow to hide her feelings for Michael, and if Carly can see how much she loves him, other people are going to see it too.

Michael wonders if he shouldn’t go back and get Willow; she’s probably being grilled by his mom. Jason says, Willow told him to go, right? and Michael says his mom means well, but… Jason asks if he has something on his mind. They sit at the patio table, and Michael says, Jason knows, right? That he’s in love with Willow. Jason says, okay. Does she feel the same? Michael says, she only married Chase because of his health. They were waiting to tell Chase until he can walk again. He feels happy and guilty at the same time. He never thought he’d be the other man. Jason tells him not to fault himself for having feelings. He has to trust himself. He’ll figure it out, and make the right decision. He never worries about Michael. Michael thanks Jason for his vote of confidence. He knows Jason has his own challenges he’s going through. Jason can always count on him. Jason says he appreciates that. And now, about all these gifts. Michael says he knows it’s crazy, but he’s not going to go overboard all the time. It’s just one day, and the rest of the days, he’s going to take a page out of Jason’s book. He hopes he can give Wiley the same sense of self and confidence Jason gave him when he was little.

Shawn tells Sam, he was wondering when they’d talk about all this; get it out in the open. Yes, he was sent to deal with Drew, but he was Jake Doe back then. nobody knew who he was or what he was up to. He was doing his job. She says, on Sonny’s orders, and he says he’s just glad Jordan made him miss the shot. She says, her too. Or she woudn’t have daughter right now. She’s glad they had a chance to clear that up. Okay. Back to square one. There is some good news. The garage is still there, so she can go back to the scene of the crime. He says, six years later? He guesses… if she wants to take a field trip. She say she knows it’s a long shot, but it’s all they’ve got. He says he’ll do more work on Naomi Dreyfuss, but Sam says maybe it’s best if he doesn’t do this. He just got out of prison. Enjoy his life. Enjoy this park. Doesn’t he want that? Doesn’t he want to start a future and make a life for himself?

Nikolas says he did not have Hayden shot, and Elizabeth says, then who did? If it wasn’t him, and it wasn’t Shawn, who tried to kill her sister?

Ava says, perhaps Spencer is unclear on the concept of truce. Or maybe he’s too angry at her to make one work. He says he’s sorry; he didn’t mean to snap. He’s not angry; he’s afraid for his father. This guy got into Windymere. He must be a criminal genius to get past the security detail. Then he got into their hotel suite. Whoever this guy is, he’s a legitimate threat. Spencer already lived through losing his father once. He doesn’t want to again. Please help him protect his father from himself.

Nikolas tells Elizabeth, they may never know who shot Hayden. She has to remember who Hayden was back then. She arrived in town committing fraud. Ric paid her to encourage Drew to lie about his past. She helped herself to a fortune in diamonds from the profits of her father’s Ponzi scheme. Who knows what enemies were after her, in or out of Port Charles? Elizabeth says, she really believes Hayden wanted a fresh start there. It wasn’t until she had Violet that she turned a corner. He guesses they turned a corner too. She fell in love, and married Franco. He married Ava, and fell in love. She says, happily ever after, at least for a little while… until life got in the way.

Ava says Spencer doesn’t need to worry about his father. This divorce protects him too. As long as they’re apart, the stalker has no reason to pay attention to Nikolas at all. Spencer says he’s glad to hear her say that. Sometimes his father makes rash decisions, and doesn’t understand the consequences. She says she’s doing everything she can to protect her daughter and his father. He says he appreciates it, but the stalker is unpredictable. He heard Trina was doused in fake blood. What if the next time it’s real? She says he doesn’t have to keep reminding her. She knows what’s at stake. He says, then make him understand. Get her feelings out of it, and make his father stop fighting this divorce.  

Willow says, Carly isn’t telling her anything that she doesn’t know in her head already. She doesn’t want to hurt Chase. She truly cares about him, but her heart is with Michael. It’s getting harder and harder to hide those feelings. Carly takes Willow’s hand, and says Willow is in a tough situation. So is Michael. Willow is trying to be generous, and it seems kind and supportive, but the heart’s tricky. It can be selfish and strong-willed, and sometimes there’s no denying or reasoning with it. Hearts are stubborn that way. Willow says she’s never heard it put quite like that, and Carly say she speaks from experience. Willow is Wiley’s mom, and she’s family, and Carly is always there to talk. Willow thanks her, and says she supposes she should splash some water on her face, and Carly says she’ll get out of Willow’s hair. Willow says she’s really happy to be part of Carly’s family. Growing up, all she really wanted was to be accepted and loved for herself, even with her faults. She and her mom never had heart-to-heart talks like this. Carly asks if she means awkward and intrusive. Then she’s come to the right family, since it’s Carly’s specialty. They hug.

Valentin asks Austin how the lawsuit is going, and Austin says, great. He  asks if Austin thinks he’ll win, and Austin says, yeah. He wouldn’t be contesting Edward’s will if he didn’t think he had a legitimate cause. Valentin says they should have lunch. Discuss ELQ under his continued leadership. Austin says he does like lunch.   

Chase tells Brook that he thinks he’s going to lie down for a minute, and wheels himself out. Brook looks at Austin, and says, this is so not good. Monica brings in Michael and Jason, and says they have more guests, and more presents. Michael shakes Austin’s hand, and says he’s glad Austin could make it. Valentin says, right on time. He and Austin were just discussing ELQ and how it’s currently thriving. It’s gutsy to change CEOs; it could affect the bottom line. Michael says, it’s a strong company. One that was already thriving when Valentin took the helm. Monica says, they’re not going to discuss business today, and Michael tells her that he was just making his position clear, so Austin knows where he stands. ELQ is a Quartermaine business that should be run by Quartermaines. Ned is the CEO that ELQ needs, not Valentin.  

Chase wheels himself into another room and closes the door. He unlocks the chair, and says he can do this. He painstakingly lifts himself up.  

Shawn tells Sam, part of him wants to forget all this, and never look back. Then he sees TJ and Molly, full of hope and determination, striving so hard to make a difference in this world. They’re something else. He asks himself what he can do to make a difference. Maybe putting an attempted murderer behind bars instead of letting them get away with it. Sam says, what about him and his fresh start? He says he wants that. He wants to build a better life for himself. Of course (🍷) he wants to connect to his son, and be part of TJ’s life. But first he has to find the person who tried to kill Hayden; he has to. Who knows how many other people he’s hurt?

Elizabeth says, Nikolas is right; she has a lot on her plate right now. She’s glad to get this off of it. She hopes he’s not mad at her for grilling him. She had to know. He says he’s glad he could put her mind to rest where he’s concerned. He’s always there for her if she wants to talk about anything. She thanks him, and he says he thinks it’s best if she puts that painful time behind her. Life goes on, right? She says, right, and hugs him. He leaves, and I get the feeling she’s not buying his story.

Ava says, Spencer is right. She has been holding on to the slightest hope. Maybe even sending mixed signals, and maybe that’s why Nikolas refuses to believe this marriage is over. But that ends now. She and Nikolas don’t even need to speak. They can communicate through their lawyers. Spencer thinks that’s best, and he humbly appreciates it. He’s sorry it’s taken something this drastic for him to see her for who she truly is. She says she’s glad Spencer and his father are on better terms now. Nikolas missed him, and knows he’s glad Spencer is back. Spencer says he is too. He sees he got there just in time. Since I’m hating on Spencer right now, I wonder what such a handsome face is doing with a dad bod, especially at his age. There. I said it.

Monica says they’ve waited long enough for the guest of honor. They need to get the party started. Where is the birthday boy? Willow says, taking an epic nap. She’ll wake him. Carly asks if she can do it. She’ll take all the time she can with her grandson as possible. Willow says, enjoy, and asks where Chase is. Brook says, he decided to rest before the party, and Willow wonders if she should check on him, but Brook says, he’s fine. He’ll be back in a few minutes. Don’t worry. He’s fine.

Chase struggles, and finally gets on his feet. He says, yes. How about a step? He takes a step forward. Austin watches.

Willow tells Michael that she’s going to get Chase. He’s resting before the party, but she knows he’ll want to be there when the birthday boy makes his big entrance. On her way to get Wiley, the doorbell rings, and she yells that she’s got it. She opens the door, and says, oh…

I’m guessing the woman at the cemetery? I don’t think it’s Harmony though. Maybe Shiloh’s mom?

On Monday, Jordan asks if Portia and Curtis are a couple now, Stella can’t help but worry it will end up that way, Chase says Willow honestly thought that was a good idea, Nina doesn’t know if it’s a blessing or curse

Million Dollar Listing New York

KJ brought her younger brother Alex to West 95th Street, where there were two apartments she was listing. Built in 1971, the building had gone condo, and an investor had purchase the apartments still occupied by rent stabilized tenants. As they moved, the investor revamped the apartments for buyers. I totally get this, since I lived in an apartment that did the same thing, but went co-op. We eventually bought our apartment for cheap when the investor wanted out. Ha-ha, score one for the tenant. In KJ’s interview, she said they were smaller apartments at lower price points, and she wanted Alex to help her with his digital marketing skills as a millennial. He handled her website and social media accounts. Social media was king, since they weren’t having open houses. They met with the developer, who was also Alex. Despite covid, KJ had already sold an apartment for $770K, another for almost $1.5 million, and yet another for $1.8 million, but there were two 949 square foot, 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartments with river views, lingering. Alex2 showed her newly added closet space to one of the apartments, but even so, KJ thought they should lower the price of $1.595 million to a post quarantine price point. She thought $1.495 million would get them some bites, as well as new imagery to freshen the listing. Alex2 was amenable, but needed to check with his dad, who was head of the company. In the meantime, KJ was having Alex1 help her develop a TikTok account. In her interview, she said it was like he was speaking another language. She had no idea what young people were talking about. This seemed pretty weird, since it’s not like she’s ancient, but I guess her job and kids keep her pretty busy.

Fredrik and team member Charlé went to Harlem to visit the Ali Forney Center, where they met yet another Alex. Seriously, WTF? A drop-in center for LGBTQ+ youth, complete with a disco ball, it had been named after queer youth activist Ali Forney who’d been murdered.  Alex said they did their best to create a fun environment. They also provided homes for LGBTQ+ young people, kicked out because of transphobia and homophobia. Alex3 said LGBTQ+ youth were eight times more likely to be homeless. They were converting the Bea Arthur Residence, left to them in her will, from a rental model to an ownership model, but needed even more space. A private anonymous donor had given them a $4-8 million budget, and they were looking to house 8-20 people in a 4-9 bedroom house with community space and a yard. Fredrik said they’d donate any commission back to the center.

Fredrick and Charlé met Alex3 at Hamilton House in West Harlem, where they were joined by art director Marcia and community developer Jase. This was one fabulous house, with amazing original detailing. Built in 1910, the house was 4796 square feet, and 20 feet wide, which is a thing when you’re in the city. The asking price was $4.5 million, but Fredrik thought he could get it down to $4 million. Marcia said it had a family feel, and Jase said it was truly a home. Everyone thought it was perfect, and Fredrik said it wasn’t about the commission, but helping the kids.

Tyler’s assistant Kemba had quarantined with her bae Evan (thank God his name wasn’t Alex) when they’d only been dating a couple of weeks. His parents were relocating to Florida, and selling a family home on West 87th Street. This was another gorgeous piece of real estate. Built in 1890, it was 5231 square feet, and 18 feet wide. It had 4 floors, 5 bedrooms and 5 baths, 8 gas converted fireplaces, and 2 garden terraces. Among the other fabulous details were hand printed wallpaper, a summer kitchen with high-end appliances, a garden level living room, and a wine cellar literally in the cellar. There was even an original faucet shaped like a dolphin, eventually reproduced for Sherle Wagner, a company founded by Evan’s grandmother. Tyler said Evan knew the history of the house, and that’s what got people excited. Sometimes he made up stories for buyers, but he had the real deal this time. Tyler said one advantage he had was a good relationship with stagers who could help Evan’s parents pack and move what was still in the house. He explained the other houses on the block were either in need of renovation or, if already renovated, in the $10 million range. They needed to find the sweet spot in between, and Tyler suggested $6.995 million, which made his potential commission $209K and change.   

Fredrik and the group from the Forney Center checked out the West 87th Street house, but didn’t feel it had enough space. Fredrik also showed them another house down the block with the asking price of $3.750 million. They met with broker Ronita, who told them the house had been used for an art exhibit, so be prepared for a lot of pieces that had been left behind. Most of it seemed to be sculptures of the bottom half of a female body, or as Fredrik said in his interview, the house had a lot of ass-ets. It was 4500 square feet, and 20 feet wide, 5 bedrooms and 5 baths, but the group thought too much work would have to be put into it. They were still sold on Hamilton House, and in Fredrik’s interview, he said when someone found the perfect house, seeing anything after that just made them love it even more.  

KJ’s plan to increase traffic and get bites for the West 95th Street house was a success using the new pricing and social media push. Buyers were looking for a turnkey property with outdoor space, but as it was a buyer’s market, it was hard to make it stand out when there were a lot of listings in the same price point.

Fredrik was meeting with Alex3 and company at the Hamilton House, and when Alex3 said the donor had pulled out, my mouth literally dropped open. I wondered how anybody could pull the rug out from under a bunch of kids like that. Fredrik had the scathingly brilliant idea to try and negotiate a lease with an option to buy. Alex said the rent had to be equal to what they were paying, which was $12K a month. Outside, Fredrik called broker Ian, explaining the situation, and telling him the seller would get full asking price in 6 months. By the time Fredrik went back inside, Ian was calling back to tell him that the owner loved the center’s work, and gave them the deal. Even I had tears in my eyes.  

Next time, KJ revisits her first big sale, and Ryan and Steve work together. Maybe.

General Hospital

There was no new GH anywhere today. Those who had it, got a rerun from when Josslyn and Trina went back in time, and saw their foremothers as Suffragettes. That was a great episode, and I would have watching it again, but it was not on in my area. So I watched People’s Court, which I only see, like, once a year anymore.

General Hospital

At Pozzulo’s Brick tells Jason, it’s bad news; really bad. Jason says, so it’s more than one lost shipment, and Brick says, it’s way more than that. Carly walks in, and hugs Brick, and tells him it’s great to see him, but not so great circumstances. Did he have to deal with much fallout for his part in Jason’s escape? He says, the lawyer ran interference, and the PCPD stopped calling. It would have gone a lot smoother if Jason had jumped into the car the first time, like they planned. Carly says, that’s what she told Jason, and Jason says he’s sorry he caused Brick extra trouble. Brick tells him not to worry about it. He gets it; Jason had to go back for Britt. He was just defending the original escape plan, which would have worked. Carly says, no question, but that’s not why Brick’s there. Any word on the missing shipment? He says, the shipment has been located, and she asks why it didn’t arrive on schedule. He says, one of her people sold her out.

Brook goes out on the terrace to talk on the phone, and asks Maxie, what’s going on? Has she heard from Peter? She says, no, thank God. Ellie and Spinelli just took Georgie and James to the pool, so she had a minute to call. How’s Louise? Brook says Maxie’s baby is doing great. She has a healthy appetite, and good lungs. Maxie doesn’t have to worry. Maxie says she’s coming over. She has to see her baby.

Sasha puts some flowers in the hospital chapel, when Willow walks in. Sasha says Willow looks beautiful, and Willow thanks her for decorating. It looks beautiful. Sasha says it’s the least she could do. How is Willow feeling? Willow says, nervous, but she knows she’s doing the right thing by marrying Chase. Sasha says, even though her heart belongs to Michael?

Michael brings Anna into the living room, and tells Valentin that he has a visitor. Anna tells Michael that he doesn’t have to stay. It looks like he’s going somewhere. He says, Willow and Chase’s wedding in the GH chapel, and Anna asks how Chase is. Michael says, he didn’t respond to treatment, and doesn’t have much time left. This might be his last day.

Jackie says she can’t believe her son is getting married, and Chase says, marrying Willow is a dream come true. Where it is, not so much. She says, he deserves a long and happy life, and he says he’s sorry. He hates that he’s causing so much pain for everyone. She tells him, stop that right now. Being his mother has been the greatest gift of her life. He brought her a joy she never even knew existed. She says she loves him, and he says he loves her too. She gave him a good life, and he’s sorry to leave it. He just wishes there was a way to beat this thing. Even Finn can’t figure it out.

Finn is running down the hall, and sees Elizabeth. He says he’s been looking for her. Tell him he’s not fooling himself. She says, about what? and he says, about why his cure for Chase didn’t work. Cyrus Renault.

At Austin’s cabin, Dante is looking at a map, when Austin walks in. Austin says, hi; he didn’t knock. He doesn’t know what to do. Please help him manage this. Should he knock on a door of a house he owns? Dante says he didn’t expect to see Austin today, and Austin says he can’t rent the place out when it’s an active crime scene. He thought he’d come by and see if there was any progress with the investigation. He sits down and looks at the map, and Dante says he spoke to the property management. They were unaware there was a hidden camera. Austin says thanks for letting him know. They’re probably worried about a potential lawsuit. Dante should see how they manage some of their other properties. Dante says he knows how to do his job, and Austin says, clearly. If they’re done with all the unfounded suspicions, he’d like to volunteer for the search for Maxie’s baby. He brought Louise into this world, and promised Miss Maxie that he’d do everything he could to help bring her home. Does that sound like something a kidnapper would say? Dante says, actually, it does.

Elizabeth asks if Finn thinks Cyrus had someone tamper with the paternity tests to get back at Jackie. Never mind. Of course (🍷) he would. Finn says he thinks the cure lies in the DNA of Chase’s biological parents. If he’s not Chase’s father, his DNA wouldn’t work. That’s why the treatment failed. She says if Finn prepares another dose with Jackie and Gregory’s DNA, Chase’s body won’t reject it. He says, yes. Is that a reasonable hypothesis, or is he just seeing what he wants to see because he wants to save Chase’s life? She says she thinks Cyrus is petty enough to change paternity test results, and spiteful enough to gloat in Finn’s face while he’s being dragged off to prison. She thinks he might have just given Finn the key to saving Chase. Gregory walks up, and asks if Finn has any news on the… tests. Finn says they can talk in front of Elizabeth. He trusts her, and she knows everything. He hasn’t heard yet. Gregory says they’re running out of time, and Finn says he has a new dose ready to go. He just needs confirmation from the lab. In the meantime, Chase has the wedding to focus on and keep him positive. Gregory says, Chase asked him to perform the ceremony. He said there was a simple way for Gregory to get certified online. Is there a computer he can use? Elizabeth says she’ll help him with that, and Finn says he’s going to check on Chase. Gregory prays the DNA results come back soon.

Brook says she understands Maxie wanting to see her baby, but they have to be strategic about Maxie’s visit. They’re not friends. Maxie says she told Nina that she and Brook bonded during Lamaze class, and thinks she bought it. Brook says, that’s great for Nina, but how are they going to explain it to the rest of the world? Maxie’s baby supposedly got kidnapped by a psycho nurse, and now she’s coming to see someone she can barely stand. Maxie says she doesn’t care. She’s literally aching for her child. She needs to see her. Brook asks if she isn’t worried about Peter. She doesn’t believe he’s given up for a second. What if he’s hiding, waiting for her to lead him to Louise, and Maxie comes there to visit someone she can’t stand, who coincidently just had a baby the same age? He will figure it out, and everything they did will be for nothing. Maxie says Brook is right. The priority is keeping Louise away from Peter. There’s a knock at Maxie’s door, and she says she has to go; she’ll call later. She opens the door to Sam, and asks what Sam is doing there. Sam says she came by because she has a few questions about Louise.

Brick says, the driver made a deal to deliver the shipment to the Novak family. Mr. Novak has offered to pay double for any Corinthos shipments. Carly asks who the driver is, and Jason says, Don Knotts Metz. She says she doesn’t know him, and Jason says he’s only been working for them about a year. Carly asks if he really thought he’d get away with it, and Brick says, that’s the problem. Mr. Novak has been telling people the Corinthos organization is weak now that Sonny’s gone.

Sasha asks Willow what the chair is for, and Willow says, Chase isn’t strong enough to stand during the wedding, so he’ll be in a wheelchair. She didn’t want him to feel self-conscious, so she’s going to sit across from him, and they’ll have the same eyeline. Sasha says, it’s really thoughtful. She’s sorry she brought up Michael. She’s there to support Willow. Willow says she doesn’t have to apologize. If Finn’s treatment had worked, and Chase was recovering, they wouldn’t be getting married, but she still loves Chase. It wasn’t that long ago, she thought she’d be spending her life with him. It’s the last gift she can give him in return for all he’s given her. Sasha says that’s all she needed to hear, and picks up a box, saying, it’s for Willow. Willow opens the box and sees a blue butterfly brooch. Sasha says she thought Willow wouldn’t have had time for the traditions. This covers old, new, borrowed, and blue wrapped up into one. Her grandmother gave it to her on her 16th birthday. She’s had it for years, but it’s new to Willow. She wants it back, and it’s blue. Willow can either wear it or pin it to her skirt.

Finn asks if Chase is sure he’s up for this, and Chase says, hell yeah. Just thinking about promising his life to Willow makes him stronger. If Finn wants to help, he can get Chase dressed. Finn says Chase is a good man. He definitely made Finn a better man. He’ll always regret how horrible he was to Chase when Chase first came to town. Chase says, it’s all part of Finn’s charm, and Finn says, that’s what Chase has always done; accept people for who they are. He makes them want to be better, and Chase deserves better. Do him a favor, hang in there. Keep fighting, and he may get his miracle. Chase says he’s marrying Willow. That is his miracle.

Anna says, it’s devastating that Chase can slip away so quickly, and Valentin says, it’s senseless. Brook comes in, and notes that Michael is all ready for the ceremony. Michael says he knows she wanted to be there, and Brook says, more room for the family and she has her hands full with Bailey. Just give Chase and Willow her congratulations and love. Michael leaves, and Brook says, excuse me, super spies. What are they going to do to find the guy who caused all this suffering? Anna says she thinks she has a lead on Peter.

Dante tells Austin, it’s not uncommon for criminals to insert themselves into investigations. They get a kick out of watching cops try to figure out what they’ve done. Austin says he’s grateful he doesn’t live in Dante’s world, when Dante’s phone rings. Dante crosses something off the map, and Austin says, this map is wrong.

Carly tells Brick, she doesn’t understand. Between her and Jason, they kept things going without a beat. She had a meeting with the Five Families cheese calzones, and they accepted her. Brick says, because there was no alternative; Jason seemed to be out of the picture. Carly says, of all he misogynistic, backward ways of thinking. She was handling things because Jason was unavailable. She’s weak because she’s a woman? Jason says, it’s not because she’s a woman; it’s because she’s an outsider. She says she’s not an outsider. She’s Sonny’s widow. Jason says she hasn’t been involved in the business until now, and Brick says, Jason’s right. They know she has no experience; Jason does. They’re just waiting for him to make his move. She asks, what kind of move? (I’ve never been in the mob, but I have the feeling this isn’t how it works.)

Michael goes to Chase’s room, where Chase sits in a wheelchair, wearing a suit and an oxygen tube. He asks what Michael thinks. It’s the latest in trendy wedding accessories. Michael says he looks great, and Chase says he hopes Willow thinks so too. She deserves so much better than a hospital chapel. (God help me, I almost wrote chat room.) Michael says Chase knows Willow doesn’t care about things like that, and Chase says he does, but he wishes he could give her the world. Michael says he doesn’t blame Chase, and Chase thanks him for coming. Michael says, of course (🍷). Brook sends her love. She’s at home with the baby. She said she wanted to make more room for the family, but Michael thinks she might be jealous. Chase says if he wasn’t so in love with Willow, he’d be flattered, and Michael says, the point is, this is Chase’s big day, and they’re all there for him and Willow. Chase says he’s just glad he didn’t completely throw their friendship away when he and Sasha lied to Michael about the affair. Michael says they’re way past that. Chase is a great man, and he’s honored to be his friend. Chase says Michael is a good man too. He’s happy Michael is going to be there for Willow after he’s gone. Gregory and Finn join them, and Gregory says they should get things started. Michael says he’ll make sure things are ready in the chapel, and Gregory says, shall we? Chase says he can’t get married yet. Someone’s missing.

Anna tells Valentin, there’s a heliport on the roof of GH. On the night Peter disappeared, a helicopter approached the hospital airspace, but didn’t identify itself. Valentin says, and the call sign? and Brook says, the call what? Valentin says, the registration number on the side of the helicopter, and Anna says, they were covered up. Valentin says, that sounds like Peter. Maybe if they can find the pilot, he can tell them where Peter was planning on taking Maxie and the baby. That might be where he is now. Anna’s phone rings, and she says it’s Finn. Finn says he needs her help, and she says of course (🍷). Anything.

Maxie tells Sam, the nurse knocked out Austin, and took her baby like she said she would. Sam says that matches what Maxie said the night Louise was taken, and Maxie says, of course (🍷) it does, but why is Sam making her relive this again? Sam says the police uncovered a hidden camera at the cabin where the nurse was holding her. She and Dante were able to watch it. She just has a few more questions.

Austin points to something on the map, and says it’s reasonably close to where he found Maxie. Dante says he was told the entire area was inaccessible because the drop to the water is too high. Austin says he doesn’t know who told Dante that. They had a winter storm, and lost a bunch of trees, roots and all. They lost the riverbed, and you can cross the creek now. Is Dante telling him no one has looked there yet? Dante says, let’s go.

In the chapel, Willow prays she’s making the right decision. She’ll do anything to make Chase’s final days happy, but God knows what’s in her heart. It belongs to someone else. Michael walks in, and they gaze at each other.

Violet runs in to see Chase, and says he’s supposed to be in bed because he’s sick. He says they’re letting him up for a special occasion. Anna says Violet’s Uncle Chase asked her to bring Violet there because he and Willow are getting married. Violet jumps up and down, saying, a wedding? and Chase says he couldn’t get married without his bestest favorite niece. She says she’s his only niece, and he says that’s all he needs. She says her daddy is going to make him all better now, and Finn thanks Anna for bringing her. She says, of course (🍷), and Chase says he appreciates it and hopes she stays for the wedding. He wouldn’t feel right if she wasn’t there. She says she’d be glad to stay, and Chase asks if Violet will do him a big favor. Would she be his flower girl? She says, yes, yes, yes. She knows what to do; she’s done it before. He wants her to know that he’s loved being her uncle, and Violet tells him not to be sad. He’s getting married; he’s so lucky. He tries not to cry, and says he’s very lucky. He breaks down, and Anna and Finn put their hands on his shoulders.

Michael says Willow looks beautiful, and she thanks him, saying, Sasha helped her get ready. Was he looking for her? He says he was making sure the chapel was ready. He doesn’t have much of a purpose today. She says he has a very important purpose; Chase wants him to be there. He says she’s right. The chapel looks good. She says, again, all Sasha’s doing. He asks if she’s okay, and she says she is. Him? He says he saw Chase earlier, and he’s really excited to marry her. She says, that’s what’s important, when Jackie and Sasha walk in. Jackie thanks Michael for being there. It means the world to Harry/Chase. He says, of course (🍷), and she says it looks like they’re ready. She going to get the groom. She hands Willow a bouquet, and Michael says he’ll join her. Sasha puts her arm around Willow.

Valentin finds Brook on the terrace, and says, if she wants to be alone, just say the word, but she doesn’t have to hide anything from him. He knows how much Chase has meant to her. She thanks him, and says, it’s funny how life changes things up on you without warning. She and Chase had a horrible start; he kept arresting her. He says, it was for assault, wasn’t it? and she says, that’s not the point. After a rocky start, her dad kicked her out of the house, and Chase took her in. He was supportive and accepting. He’s a bit of a neat freak, but nobody’s perfect. Chase became somebody she could trust, and now he’s dying. Valentin says, it’s difficult to lose a friend like that, and she asks when he became a friend expert. He says she’s right. He doesn’t have any friends. At least ones that aren’t on the payroll. She says, first of all, she took a cheap shot when he was just trying to be kind. She apologizes. And second, what is he talking about? He doesn’t consider Anna a friend?

Maxie asks if Sam isn’t on her side, and Sam says, of course (🍷) she is. When she watched the footage, and saw what that phony nurse did to Maxie, she’s sorry Maxie had to suffer through that ordeal. Maxie says she doesn’t know what else Sam wants her to say, but that psycho nurse wanted to force her into labor and steal her child. Sam says she watched the whole video, and it was very clear that nurse was working for Peter, and acting on his orders. How could Maxie be so sure the nurse wanted Louise for herself?

Austin and Dante walk through the woods, and Austin says he walks through these woods all the time. Dante will have to let him know if he wants him to slow down to a city slicker pace. Dante says, it’s cool. Austin’s family owns a lot of property around here? Austin says, it’s not top-of-the-line, but it’s home. It allows them to preserve the woods, and keep the developers out. Dante says, Austin doesn’t like people much, does he? and Austin says he likes people. Let him amend that. He loves some people, he likes most people, he tolerates a lot of people, but in his job as a doctor, he has to deal with a lot of people. He does have preferences, but it’s okay. The Buddhists say it’s okay to have some preferences, and he prefers to avoid people who are jaded and cynical. He gestures for Dante to go ahead, and Dante hopes Austin’s bedside manner is better than his social graces. They continue to walk, and suddenly, Austin shoves Dante to the ground.

Violet tosses rose petals, as she walks past a seated Chase and Willow. Gregory says, let’s begin. Chase takes Willow’s hand.

Brick says, the expectation is that Jason is going to return, and take over the Corinthos organization, and Carly says, that’s exactly what’s happening. Brick says, Mr. Novak doesn’t think so. He’s asking if Jason is in charge or she is. Carly says she was handling things while Jason was unavailable. She’s in the process of handing everything over. Brick tells her, listen to him. The people are used to one boss, not two. They’re expecting one of them, probably Jason, to push the other out. Carly says that’s never going to happen, and Brick says, forgive him for saying it, but it makes Jason look weak. Mr. Novak sees an opening, so others would. Jason says, the perception of weakness will lead to being challenged, which will escalate. Brick says they just ended a war with Renault. Is she ready for another one?

Gregory says he was honored when Chase asked him to perform the ceremony, but he has to admit, this is the first time he’s officiated at a wedding, so he’s out of his element. He thinks the best thing he can do is just speak from the heart. They’re here today to join this man and this woman in holy matrimony. To witness the love between Chase and Willow, and to vow to support their love wholeheartedly. And do they, as witnesses to this day, support and encourage this union? They all say they do.

Maxie tells Sam, her baby is missing and that woman took her. That much she knows for sure. Sam tells her, she’s just saying, isn’t it possible that the nurse met up with Peter after all? Right now, everyone is looking for the nurse and the baby. Maybe they should be looking for Peter and Louise. Maxie says, no. Peter does not have her child.

Dante is like, what the hell? and Austin says, sometimes these boards, they rot, and Dante was about to step on one, so… Dante asks why Austin didn’t just tell him to stop, and Austin says because he didn’t think Dante would listen to him. He’s sorry. Is Dante hurt? Dante says he’s fine. Austin says, there used to be a lot of mining here, and there are abandoned shafts. He moves a tree branch off of the opening, and seeing missing boards, says, from the looks of these broken boards, it’s possible an animal, or even a person could have fallen through. Dante says it’s a long way down there, and Austin takes some rope out of his backpack.

Gregory asks if Chase takes this woman to be his wife, to live together in matrimony, to love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health, in sorrow and in joy, to have and to hold from this day forward, as long as they both shall live? Chase says he does, and Violet says, yay! Gregory asks the same of Willow, and she says she does. I just have to mention, Chase is the healthiest looking terminal patient I’ve ever seen. Other than the circles under his eyes, his coloring is better than mine on a good day. Gregory says, now for the exchanging of the rings. Chase drops the ring, and says he might need some help. His hands don’t work so good. He asks if Michael will put the ring on Willow, and Michael says he’d be glad to. Gregory asks Chase to repeat after him, with this ring, I thee wed, and Chase does. Michael puts the ring on Willow, and Chase thanks him. Gregory asks Willow to repeat after him, with this ring, I thee wed. She does, and Chase says he loves her. She says she loves him too. Gregory pronounces them husband and wife, and says Chase may kiss his bride. They kiss, and Michael looks at the floor. Violet says, yay! and throws petals up in the air. Chase isn’t looking so good, and Willow says she thinks he needs Finn. Chase says his wife worries too much, and Finn suggests they get Chase back to his room. Sasha congratulates them, and Violet asks if she can hug Chase before he goes. Finn gives the okay, and she hugs Chase. Chase says he loves her, and Violet tells him not to worry. Her daddy is going to make him all better. They all leave, except for Michael and Sasha. Sasha says she can stay if he wants, but he says he thinks he needs to be alone for a little while. Sasha leaves, and Michael sits in the chapel by himself.

Sam tells Maxie, she doesn’t understand. Obviously, the nurse was willing to break a lot of laws to get Peter what he wanted. What makes Maxie so sure she wouldn’t hand the baby off to him? Maxie says, the nurse didn’t say anything about taking the baby when they were in the house because she was still following Peter’s rules. Then Maxie hit her with the poker, and ran into the woods. She was angry, and said Maxie didn’t deserve Louise. She could take better care of Louise than Maxie could. Sam believes her, right?

On the phone, Dante says, that’s right. He sees Austin preparing to go into the shaft, and tells him, no. Austin says he’s a doctor. If there’s somebody down there, it’s probably someone who’s hurt. Dante says, it could be a crime scene, which means he has to go down there. One end of the rope is tied to a tree, and Dante tosses the other end down in the shaft.

Valentin supposes Brook is right, and he and Anna are friends of a fashion. She says, please. It’s clear to anyone with eyes, with their secret looks, and coded language that only the two of them can understand, they’re friends. At least. He says he and Anna are working together to bring Peter to justice, because they’re equally responsible for Peter building a home in Port Charles, and for convincing Maxie that she can trust him, when he was nowhere near worthy of that trust.

Jackie and Gregory look into Chase’s room through the window, while Willow paces. Jackie says, at least Harry/Chase got his final wish to marry Willow. Willow says she did make him happy, didn’t she? Finn jets out of Chase’s room, and tells Gregory, the test results just came in, and he dashes off. Gregory says he’s going with Finn, and starts to follow. Jackie says, but this is for Chase, and Gregory says, trust him, this is for Chase. He runs after Finn.

Jason says he appreciates Brick for the update, and looking into the theft. Brick says he has no doubt Jason and Carly will come up with a solution. Until then, if they need him for anything, don’t hesitate. Carly says they appreciate him, and he’s right. She and Jason will come up with a solution. Brick says he knows, and leaves. Carly asks, is Brick right? Does Jason look weak because he’s not pushing her out? Jason says, from Novak’s point of view, yeah. She says she went to the hospital to visit Cyrus before the Feds took him to prison. He said it would be a cakewalk for Jason to eliminate her and take over the Corinthos organization. When she told him that was never going to happen, he said Jason was either devoid of ambition or in her thrall. Neither of which are good for the Corinthos family, right? He says, no, it’s not good, and she says they’re going to have to get ahead of this. They’re going to have to show Novak, and anyone else, the Corinthos family is still the formidable organization it always has been. He says, it’s going to take a little time, but eventually, they’re going to see it. Carly asks, how much time?

Brook thanks Valentin for coming to her today. She knows she’s not the easiest person to get along with. He says she could just as easily be talking about him, and she says she knows he’s here for Bailey, not her. He says, they’re both raising a child. They’re both trying to provide a happy home for their daughter. It would be nice if they could be friends. She says she thinks maybe they already are.

Sam says, of course (🍷) she believes Maxie, and Maxie thanks her, and says she really would do anything to have Louise in her arms again, but she has to face reality. That nurse could be halfway around the world by now.

Austin asks Dante how it’s going. Did he find anything? Dante says, yeah. He’s at the bottom now, and thinks he found their kidnapper.

Anna thanks Sasha for taking Violet home; she feels like she should stay. Sasha says, no worries; it’s her pleasure. Violet says Roxie misses Anna, and she’ll tell her that Anna says hi. Anna says she misses Roxie too, and she misses Violet. She hugs Violet, and Sasha and Violet go down in the elevator.  

Finn, Gregory, and Elizabeth gather around the computer, and Elizabeth asks what the DNA results say. Who is Chase’s biological father? Finn looks at Gregory, and says, you are. You’re Chase’s father. Everyone stands there smiling at each other, when they should really be moving to get that serum into Chase. I yell at the TV.

Jackie smooths Chase’s hair, while Willow holds his hand, and he says he’s not scared. He has his mom and his wife. It feels good. Jackie says she loves him so much, and Willow says she loves him too. Jackie kisses his cheek, and he says, lucky me. And flatlines. Once again, no one makes any quick move to do something.

Seriously, never let me check into GH. There’s no security, and they’re slow to react.

On Monday, Dante tells Maxie that he’s found something that could lead them to Louise, Ava prefers to err on the side of caution, Cameron wants to know the truth, and Finn finally gets to Chase.

On this day, June 19, 1865, Black people’s complete personhood was acknowledged on a systemic level for the very first time. Since the passage of the 13th amendment, Black Americans like Shirley Chisolm have trail-blazed the socio-political world, creating a place for women like me to feel empowered in sharing my voice and stories with the world.  As a woman of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and a member of the Divine 9, Juneteenth is also a time for me to acknowledge the ancestry of my founders and the experiences that led them to create our beloved sorority and to fight for the inclusion of black women in every space. What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Finn looks through the scans of Franco’s brain. Elizabeth asks what he thinks, and he says he thinks cancer isn’t his specialty. She says she knows, but she just got the images back, Terry hasn’t gotten back to her yet, and she trusts him to be honest with her. She’s not asking for a prognosis, just his take. Is the radiation working? Is Franco’s tumor shrinking?

Franco tosses and turns on the couch, repeatedly hearing, please be Drew Cain; you know his brother.

Curtis brings Sam to the club, and she says, it’s really nice. She wonders why she never heard of it. He says, probably because she has kids, and she says, back in the day, this place would have caused her a lot of trouble. He says he’d have been right there with her. Sam says she noticed a bunch of beautiful women, ogling Curtis. Does she need to call Jordan to save him? He says, Jordan’s got enough to do saving herself.

Portia goes to Jordan’s office, and Jordan asks how she can help. Portia says she doesn’t need help, but Taggert does. Whatever Cyrus wants to tank the government’s case against Taggert, she wants Jordan to give to him.

Standing in the woods on the phone, Jason says he sees it. He tells them, no, don’t do anything yet. Let’s see how it plays out.

In the car next to Jackie, Martin cleans up a basket of fried chicken, licking his fingers. He says he’d offer her some, but she’s already expressed her displeasure of fried chicken several times. She said he just worked his way around a gooey cinnamon roll, and he says he never eats like this unless he’s nervous. He just realized, no one ever made fried chicken like his mama. Jackie says she’s not surprised. His mother sounds perfect. He says, close enough. If she’s wrong about this… She says she’s not. She looks through a pair of binoculars, and says, Bobbie Spencer is holed up in that house. And the patient she’s caring for is his mother.

Bobbie sits on Florence’s bed, reading out loud to her. Florence looks happy.

At the hospital, Nikolas pays off a guard, saying he wants 30 uninterrupted minutes. The guard leaves, and Laura comes out of the elevator. She says, friend of his? and he says he’s been meaning to call her, steering her down the hall. He tells her that wanted to run some wedding ideas by her. When they’re out of sight, Ava comes out, and sneaks into a room. Ryan sits in a chair, and she says, please don’t get up.

Laura asks if Nikolas and Ava have set a date, and he says, they’re hoping for late spring, early summer. She says, good. It gives him time to make peace with his son.

Ava wonders what malady brought Ryan back to GH from his minimum security prison. She flips through a folder, and says, oh, bed sores. That’s what happens when you let your stabbing and severing muscles fall out of use. She can’t imagine how frustrating it must be for him, but she doesn’t have to imagine it. She leans on the back of his chair, and says, they both know he’s not as helpless as he appears.

Martin asks why Jackie is so convinced Jason has his mother stashed away in there. There’s been no sign of her, or anyone else who might be involved in her abduction; just lights behind curtain windows. She tells him, look in the back seat, and he picks up a big plastic bag, wondering what she has in there. It stinks to high hell. She says, the thing about garbage is that it has an unpleasant odor, and he takes out two prescription bottles. She asks if they look familiar, and he says his mother takes this medication. She says, and the prescriber? He says, Bobbie Jean Spencer, Nurse Practitioner, and she says, aka Bobbie Spencer. He asks how she knew they were here, and she says she did a story on private nurses; their dedication and long hours. One of the nurses from her story is a contact, and she has a friend who relieves Bobbie when Bobbie needs a break. He asks when she had time to go through the trash there, and she says, while he was in line for fried chicken, she took a trip there. If he keeps looking, he’ll find someone has a yen for Corinthos coffee. He says he’ll take her word for it; color him impressed. But if she knew his mother was there, why didn’t she call the police? She says, and risk his mother being in the middle of shootout between the police and Jason’s men? He says, so what are they going to do? They can’t just sit there while his mother languishes. She tells him, don’t worry. Does he know what the biggest newspaper in the nation named her? Jackie Templeton, woman of action.

Jordan tells Portia, fine. Let’s talk. Portia says they don’t need to talk. What her family needs is action – from Jordan. Cyrus agreed to stonewall the Feds’ case against Taggert, and without Cyrus’s testimony, Taggert could go free. Jordan asks if Cyrus told Portia what he’s expecting to get back for his cooperation, and Portia says, he didn’t volunteer any information. She asks what he expects for keeping quiet, and Jordan says, Cyrus and Jason are in a stand-off. Cyrus wants Jason to give up his leverage, which will leave Port Charles open for a mob war. Cyrus will run his drugs through their town, and they’ll see an epidemic of overdoses and deaths. Jason and his men will try to fight back, leaving the PCPD and GH to pick up the pieces. So Cyrus isn’t offering his silence in good faith. It isn’t an offer; it’s a manipulation. Portia says, it’s no surprise Cyrus would want to use the situation to his advantage, but she doesn’t care what he wants not to testify, as long as he refuses. It will break Trina’s heart if her father goes to prison. If anyone knows what it’s like to protect their child’s happiness, she knows it’s Jordan.

Curtis tells Sam, he thought his and Jordan’s relationship could handle just about anything. Pretty naïve, huh? She says, no. Sometimes we think we can handle it all, then something comes along we don’t anticipate, and it puts a new perspective on it. He says he doesn’t know how much is a new perspective, as much as it’s just a series of events that led him to realize Jordan isn’t the woman he thought she was. If he could be so wrong about his marriage, what else could he be wrong about?

Finn tells Elizabeth, Terry is a top oncologist, and will let her know if Franco’s tumor is changing. She says, but he can read the scans. Please. She’s desperate. He says it will just be his opinion, and she says she’s not going to sue him if she doesn’t like it. He says, okay. In his opinion, after Franco’s initial rounds of radiation therapy, the size and shape of his tumor remains unchanged.

Franco is still sleeping restlessly, and starts to repeat, Jason. He gets louder, and Cameron says, Franco, trying to wake him up. Franco suddenly sits up, pushing Cameron back. He’s about to punch Cameron, when Cameron raises his hands and says, Franco, it’s me. It’s Cameron.

Laura asks if Nikolas has reached out to Spencer since he and Ava decided to renew their vows. Does Spencer know they’re marrying for love this time? He says he spoke to Spencer and explained, but Spencer’s response was less than enthusiastic. She says she knows how much Spencer loves him; he’ll come around. Keep reaching out. He says, for how long? Spencer is stubborn. Spencer is quick to anger, and slow to forgive. She says, and he’s sensitive and bighearted, like someone else she knows. He asks if he should apologize for wanting to marry Ava again, and she says, of course not (🍷), but don’t expect a change of attitude overnight. She thinks once Spencer sees how much Ava loves Nikolas, and how happy Ava makes him, he’ll come around.

Ava tells Ryan, she’s so impressed at how he was able to communicate to one of his minders that he wanted to send her this lovely gift, made just for her. She shows him the roach, no longer under glass. She says, soon, he won’t be able to give her any more tokens of affection. She and Nikolas are going to identify his helper, and put an end to this. The note was such a nice touch; secrets and cockroaches, the only two things that always survive. Except for us. She laughs, and says she nearly busted a gut. She’s so sorry. Did he think she’d be frightened? She puts her face close to his, and says, no, Ryan; not anymore. She moves even closer, and says, if anyone ought to be scared, it’s him… scared of her.

Franco wonders if he hurt Cameron, and says he didn’t mean to. Franco didn’t know it was him. Cameron says, it’s okay; it’s no big deal. Franco was dreaming. It was probably a nightmare. Franco says, Cameron woke him up, and startled him. He’s sorry. Cameron says, it’s his fault; no biggie. He’ll get Franco some water.

Elizabeth says, so it’s too soon to expect any progress, and Finn says, yeah. She says, dammit. Damn, damn, damn, damn, damn. She bangs the wall with her fist, then puts her head against it. Finn comes up behind her, and says, hey.

Bobbie reads to Florence from a romance novel, and Florence says her Marty used to read to her all the time, but nothing as steamy as this. Bobbie has a soothing voice; it lulls her right to sleep. Bobbie says Florence misses him doesn’t she? and Florence says she does. Her Marty is a good boy. He always looks out for her. Bobbie promises she’ll see him very soon, and leaves to get Florence’s medication.

Martin asks Jackie, what’s the plan? She’s the woman of action; how does she intend to sneak them in to locate his mother undetected? Jackie says, the house was renovated last year. She got the plans from the county clerk’s office, and memorized the layout. It’s easy to navigate. He asks if that’s the plan. They just go room to room, looking for his mother, hoping they remain undetected, and Jackie says she understands Florence is bedridden. There’s a parlor on the first floor. She guesses that’s where Florence is. She’d be easier to move if needed. He says, what if one of Jason’s henchman discovered them snooping? and she says, they didn’t. The guards have 12-hour shifts, and their best opportunity is during the changeover. Which is now. She opens the car door and says, coming? He says he has one last question. What’s the plan if they get caught? She says, there isn’t one. Don’t get caught. He says, oh Lord. He’s going to live to regret this.

Finn asks how Elizabeth’s hand is, and she says, it’s fine; she’s used to it. He asks if it happens often, and she says, only since Britt became Chief of Staff. He takes it Britt hasn’t mellowed, but Elizabeth says she’s glad Brook is there. She needs someone to take out her anger on. It’s hard to take it out on the tumor, and she’s mad at herself for being mad at Franco.

Cameron brings the water, and tells Franco, sorry. It’s his fault; he shouldn’t have startled Franco. Franco tells him not to blame himself – ever. He shouldn’t have reacted. Cameron says it’s not Franco’s fault. He’s sick, and had a nightmare. Does he remember any of it? Franco says, no, and Cameron says Franco was talking, saying the same thing over and over. Franco asks what he said, and Cameron says, it sounded like Jason.

Sam is sure Curtis’s problems with Jordan caused him to question himself. He entered the relationship thinking they were on the same page. He says, along came some test that blew up his assumptions, and she says, he realized along the way that he’s one who changed. He’s not the kind of person that believes in relationships anymore. He says, yeah. He’s been rethinking about a lot of things lately, including his profession. He’s made a career out of digging up other people’s dirty little secrets, and he never cared, because they weren’t his secrets. Then he discovered his life was full of them too. He can’t stomach another case of infidelity, or tell another client that they’re being lied to by the person they trusted most. He’s done digging. She gets it, and asks what he wants to do. He looks around, and says she’s looking at it.

Portia tells Jordan, it was wrong of her to bring up TJ; it was uncalled for. Jordan says Portia had every right to bring it up, but Portia says Jordan doesn’t need Trina adding on to her problems. Just get her in to see Taggert, and she’ll take it from there. Jordan says Portia doesn’t need her permission, and Portia says, no, but she needs Taggert’s. He refused a visit. Jordan says she thought Trina didn’t want to see him, and Portia says, Trina was hurt and angry. She was confused, and completely overwhelmed, but that changed when Cyrus dangled Taggert’s freedom in front of her. Naturally she’s interested in her father coming home, but now he refuses to see his daughter. Jordan says she’ll speak with him, but he’s not going to change his mind, and he’d be right not to.

Jackie and Martin sneak around the house where Florence is, and he asks how long they have. She puts her finger to her lips, and peeks into a room. They go in, and Martin says, it’s him, Marty, come to take her home. The bed is empty, and Jason is sitting in a chair. He says, wrong room. Ha-ha! Jason’s way of being low-key funny.

Elizabeth tells Finn that she’s angry at Franco for getting sick. They’re not perfect, but they had a good life. They were happy. Finn says, before the tumor, and she says, Franco didn’t tell her, and hid his diagnosis, making a plan without her. He says, the desire to hide a diagnosis from a loved one is pretty common. In part, it’s to protect the loved one, but part is also denial. He’s seen it before; he did it himself. She thinks Franco’s denial lasted longer than normal. When he finally told her, he ignored Terry’s advice to start radiation, and took off to Switzerland for an unproven treatment. She can’t help thinking about the time they lost, and how much bigger the tumor might have gotten because they did nothing. She wonders how much sicker he got, and if he’s too sick now to get better.   

Franco wonders why everything is always about Jason, and tells Cameron, there are more interesting people in this world. Cameron says, it makes sense Franco’s nightmare would be about Jason. Jason hates him. Jason can’t forgive the things Franco did when he had his first tumor, but it’s not Franco’s fault. Franco hates that Cameron has to think about any of it, and Cameron says, that’s why Jason keeps his distance. Franco says, there’s nothing anyone can do about Jason, but Cameron says, the hell there isn’t.

Jason says he wondered how long it was going to take Jackie and Martin to get out of the car and pay Florence a visit. Martin says Jason knew they were there? and Jason says, yeah. Martin asks where Jason is holding his mother. He wants to see her now. Jackie says, if they could track Bobbie, so can Cyrus. Jason says if they want to talk to Bobbie, feel free. Martin says he doesn’t give a damn; he’s not there to play games. His mother is old and vulnerable. Please. He needs to see her. Jackie says, when Martin spoke to his mother on the phone, she said she was doing well, but he wants to see it with his own eyes that she’s whole and healthy. Jason says, okay.

Nikolas tells Laura, he adores Spencer, and will never stop trying to win him over, but he doubts he can do it in time to get Spencer’s blessing for the ceremony. He’ll keep trying to get Spencer to participate, for her. She says, no, for him and his son; the whole family really. He says he wants family togetherness as much as she does. Speaking of family, what’s going on with Cyrus? She says, his mother is missing, and he blames Jason for abducting her. He says that doesn’t sound like Jason, and she guesses what started the debacle was Carly. She leaps before she looks. Now Cyrus blames Jason, and her too, in a way. He says she has nothing to do with it, but she says, Cyrus believes she has the means to return his mother. He tells her, stay out of it. Let Cyrus play games with Jason, not her. She says she’d like nothing better, but Cyrus is irrational, and has an obsession with his mother. If she’s not returned, she’s afraid he’s going to lash out. She doesn’t want anyone in the family in his sites when he does.

Ava asks Ryan if she’s crystal clear. If he continues reaching out, she wouldn’t want him to claim she didn’t warn him. The only pest is him, and this is what she does to pests. She stomps on the roach, and grinds it into the floor. Ryan continues to stare straight ahead.

Finn asks if Elizabeth really wants his unvarnished assessment about Franco’s chances, and she says he knows she does. He says, Franco is too annoying to die. He doesn’t think death wants anything to do with Franco. He looks at her and the boys, and sees the love they have for Franco, and he doesn’t want anything bad to happen. She says, Franco is fighting cancer, not only the radiation, but the side effects. Finn asks if he has fatigue or nausea, and Elizabeth says, they went out on Valentine’s Day. Franco wasn’t feeling well… then his hair… She starts to cry, and says they went home, and Cameron saw what was going on. She could see how Franco was trying hard to cover up his embarrassment, and Cameron ran upstairs and shaved his own head. Finn says, impressive. Violet won’t be happy. She loves Cameron’s hair, but it will grow back. So will Franco’s. He says, it looks like Elizabeth has Franco covered. She says she does, and he asks, who’s covering her?

Franco tells Cameron, no one has hurt him, and Cameron says, really? Sam’s mom tried to stab him with a syringe, and almost killed Dante. People are refusing to treat him. Franco asks how Cameron knows about that, and Cameron says he heard Franco and his mom talking about the tech that didn’t want to be in the same room as Franco. Franco says, that’s one person, but Cameron says, it’s not. He’s seen it all over social media that Franco deserves to die. People think the tumor has made him dangerous, and it gives them the right to go after him. And don’t tell him that he’s stupid to worry and want to protect him. He cares whether Franco lives or dies. Franco says Cameron is super smart, and a good kid, but he doesn’t want to pick a fight with crazies to defend him. Cameron says, if he doesn’t fight to defend his family, who else would he do it for?   

Portia says, Jordan and Taggert believe his best chance is to stay in the PCPD jail, essentially in protective custody, but for how long? What if the Feds decide to go ahead with the case? And even if by some miracle, Taggert is exonerated, Cyrus will come after him. Jordan says, by then, she should have Cyrus, and Portia asks, how’s that working for her this time? Jordan doesn’t say anything, and Portia says, that’s what she thought. In the meantime, she’ll shut out her daughter, causing no end to the pain and heartache. She doesn’t know what she’s supposed to do, and Jordan says, tell Trina, it’s not on Taggert, but on her.

Sam asks if she heard Curtis right. He wants to buy the nightclub? She’s sure he knows a healthy amount of patrons will want to unload their problems, and he’ll have to hear about their troubles. As a server – which he will be sometimes – he’ll be forced to stay in the bar and listen to their troubles. He says, the difference is, at the end of the night, he’ll close up shop and go home. He won’t have to think about them again. She says, and that appeals to him? He says, not having to produce pictures of infidelity to a brokenhearted spouse, or watch a man gamble away his child support money appeals to him. She says, then go for it, and he says he already is. He sits down and says, this is where she comes in.

Finn tells Elizabeth, it’s times like this when she needs a support system. Who has she reached out to? She says, Laura, Bobbie, Scotty; she has her career at the hospital. He says, good, but for what it’s worth (🍷), she can lean on him. She thanks him for talking her off the ledge, and gets up. She says, tell Violet that Cameron’s hair grows pretty fast. He says, good to know, and she leaves.

Franco says he can’t criticize Cameron for wanting to protect his family, and Cameron says Franco is already dealing with cancer treatments; he doesn’t need to deal with vigilantes. Someone needs to make them back off. Franco wonders what happens if Cameron gets into trouble defending him? Where does that leave Jake and Aiden? The boys look up to him. Cameron says, that’s crazy, but Franco says, it isn’t; it’s wonderful. They’re good kids, and want be like him. He’s a good kid. So he needs to continue being an honorable young man. At least until he goes to college in California. Cameron says he’s not going; he’s staying there. Franco asks when he decided that, and Cameron says, the other night. Franco says, Valentine’s Day. Why didn’t he say anything? Cameron says Franco and Elizabeth would have just argued with him, and tried to talk him out of it. He feels like so much has changed. Maybe he won’t go to college at all. Franco says, because of him and his tumor? and Cameron says, Franco didn’t leave him when he was in trouble. Why would he leave Franco?   

Curtis asks if Sam is done with the P.I. game, and she says, actually, no. She’s ready to take on some work. Unlike him, she misses it. She’s not talking about anything dangerous. She has kids, and knows she has to be safe, but she just misses it so much. She wants to help people know the truth, even if it hurts them. He says he sees a way they can both get what they want, and she says she’s listening. He says, buy his half of the P.I. firm. He’ll give her full ownership of operations, his contacts, files, and lists, and he’ll give her fair market value. She asks what he’s going to do with the money, and he says, close the deal on this place. What does she say? Does she want to buy him out? she says, let the bidding begin.

Portia says she doesn’t want to lie to her daughter, but Jordan says, it’s not a lie. Effective immediately, she’s barring Taggert from having visitors. Portia asks if she can do that, since it’s Federal and out of her jurisdiction, but Jordan thinks they’ll accept her request. If Portia has a problem with Trina, send Trina to her. Portia says, if she’s willing to take on the full brunt of her daughter’s fury, and Jordan says she deserves it. It’s the best she can do, at least for now. Portia says she’ll take it, but only for now. Jordan says, good. Now if Portia doesn’t mind… Portia picks up her coat, and says she’s sorry to her about Jordan and Curtis. Cyrus really ruined a lot of lives. She leaves, and Jordan looks sad.

Bobbie tells Florence, someone is eager to see her. Martin walks in, and Florence holds out her arms. They hug, and Martin says he heard she was expecting him. He must say, her radiance is a sight for sore eyes. In the hallway, Bobbie asks Jason, now that Martin knows his mother is here, is there any chance this might be over? He says, sorry. It’s too soon to know how this will effect Cyrus’s reach. Florence tells Martin that he’s lost weight, but he says, don’t worry. He just ate the better part of a bucket of fried chicken. It wasn’t as good as hers though. She says, of course (🍷) it wasn’t. He eats badly when he’s stressed. Has he been worried? He says, about her? Of course (🍷). He hasn’t seen her for weeks. She says she missed him, but Bobbie and Mr. Blue Eyes are taking wonderful care of her.

Ava cleans her shoe, and says, it’s been fun, hasn’t it? What does he thinks of her new scent? It’s a Valentine’s gift from Nikolas; lovely, isn’t it? Would he like a whiff. She takes a bottle out of her bag, and sprays it all around him, then says, oh, sorry. She forgot he’s allergic to perfume, isn’t he? She guesses he’ll have to sweat it out, like an itch he can’t scratch. She leaves, and he still doesn’t react, except to blink.  

Florence says, everyone is so sweet, and Jackie says, Martin isn’t the only one worried about her. Her other son is anxious to see her. Florence says, that guy can wait, and Jackie says it sounds like she doesn’t have a lot of patience for Cyrus. Florence says, sadly, her older son is a lost soul. He’s willful, selfish, and lacks conscience. She doesn’t know where she and his father went wrong, but she washed her hands of that scoundrel years ago. Jackie takes out a recorder, and says, tell her about it.   

Nikolas asks Ava how the conversation went, and she says, one-sided. He says, the best kind, and thanks Laura for her advice; he’ll take it to heart. She says, any time, and Nikolas and Ava leave. Laura peeks in on Ryan through the door window, and walks away. A guard comes into Ryan’s room, and says he’s got mail. He puts a stack of envelopes down, and says he’s got one there from Ryan’s biggest fan, Heather W. He reads, dear Ryan. Love your work. I’m your biggest fan. We see some outgoing mail, with a letter addressed to S. Cassadine on top.  

Tomorrow, Lesley says Cyrus is wrong for GH (like we didn’t know), Elizabeth asks if Franco is talking about moving out, Maxie uninvites Nina, and Cyrus wants to know where his mother is.

🏖 I’m here to report that Summer House is still just as awful, and the cast is still a bunch of horrible, horrible people, to borrow a phrase from Sophie on 2 Broke Girls. Ciara should run for her life, and take Hannah with her. Luke is still stringing Hannah along, using words like connection and chemistry and I love you. For a moment, I thought Ciara might actually be the voice of reason, when she told Hannah that she wanted nothing to do with a guy who could yell at a friend the way Luke yelled at Hannah. But the next thing I knew, she was sitting next to him, being a bobblehead while he talked a bunch of bullsh*t. Kyle, who’d seemed to have matured, and had just done a quarter million in sales with his online business, reverted back to his true baby nature, whining about people not doing their chores. I’m not sure what all happened there, but both Amanda and Hannah ended up in tears. Sadly, at the end of the episode, Carl found out his brother had died, and on Amanda’s birthday. Still, if you decide to watch this show, just remember, it’s an hour of your life you won’t get back.

I find it hard to believe that Gia’s character is being questioned, unless kids her age don’t understand what an analogy is either. In which case, we have a bigger problem than this mess.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Nina puts the necklaces together, and looks at Nathan’s picture. She asks him, what is it about their family? All the time she spent looking for her daughter, and she was right in front of her, begging to be seen. She was Nelle’s last chance. She won’t let down another child in their family. Jax knocks at her office door, and comes in. He says she hasn’t been returning his calls or texts, and asks her not to shut him out.

Jason tells Carly, it’s all set, and she asks if he thinks it’s going to work. He says, it might not be exactly what Martin wanted, but it’s what he’s getting.

The hostess at the MetroCourt slides a box over to Martin at the bar. He asks what it is, and she says, he’s Martin Grey, right? He says, maybe, and she says she’s seen him there often enough to know his name. The package was delivered for him. He opens it, and takes out a phone with a post-it note on it that says Florence.

Chase goes to Sonny’s place, and Michael answers the door with Willow. He asks if it’s official business, and Chase says it’s about his father’s funeral.

Sonny wipes down the bar at the Tan-O, and Phyllis asks how he’s doing. He says he’s kind of down, but the meds are making him feel calm; not amped up like he was. She asks if he feels more like his old self, and he says, he wouldn’t know that, because he still doesn’t know who he is.

Finn goes into an empty examining room at the hospital, and closes the blinds. He opens a briefcase and takes out a swab. He swabs his mouth, puts it in an envelope, and seals it, putting it back in the case. He takes it to the reception desk, and a tech tells him, the lab called. He wanted some tests run? He gives her the envelope with the swab, and another with Chase’s water bottle in it. He says he needs the DNA results as soon as possible, and she says, he’s got it. He turns around and sees Jackie, and walks away. She follows him, asking him to wait.

At Nathan’s grave, Britt asks if he enjoyed their little visit earlier. Her, Nina, and Maxie, all there to pay their respects. They easily could have gone down a dark path, like the three witches in Macbeth. Not that he ever struck her as a Shakespeare buff, but she thinks he knows what she means. Instead of going dark, the three of them formed kind of a sisterhood, united by their love for him. They made pact have each other’s backs, and she’ll need that, now that the dark prince seems to be on the rise. Peter shows up, and says, sorry. He didn’t know anyone was there. She mumbles, speak of the devil.

Anna says, the memories Franco received were from Drew’s life before he came to Port Charles. Valentin says, if Kirk was right, and Franco is hearing voices from the memory transfer, that means Peter knew Drew years ago, when Drew was still in the military. Anna says, if that’s true, why didn’t Peter ever say anything? and Valentin says, he doesn’t want them to know. Obviously, he’s been lying to them.

Phyllis says, Sonny still can’t remember anything? and he says, not since he woke up in the woods. She says, the fall into the river was bad enough, combine that with lack of sleep and a racing mind, no wonder his body and brain were exhausted. Maybe after a few days on the medication, when he’s rested, his memory will return. He hopes so. He doesn’t like feeling like a blank slate. Lenny comes in, and she says maybe Sonny and Lenny can look for any missing persons notices they missed at the trooper’s station, but Sonny says he doesn’t want anything to do with cops. Sonny walks off, and Lenny asks, what the hell was that?

Chase tells Michael, there will be extra cops on the streets and on the docks the day of Sonny’s funeral. Jordan wants them to know, if anyone causes trouble, the PCPD will be there to handle it. Michael says he’ll pass the message along, and excuses himself, saying he has to talk to his mom. Chase tells Willow, Michael isn’t the only reason he stopped by, and she says she didn’t think so. He says, it’s the worst timing. Michael losing his dad while they’re trying to figure things out. He says, that sounded horrible, but he misses her.

Michael tells Carly, Chase had a message from the PCPD. Jordan is going to have more police presence on the street for his dad’s funeral. It felt like a warning. Jason doesn’t think it’s a bad idea to have more police presence, but he doesn’t think there will be any trouble. Michael says, it feels surreal talking about it. He went to the site, and saw where the bridge collapsed. He knows his father is gone, but a funeral seems too final. Jason says, it feels too soon, especially since they didn’t recover Sonny’s body. Michael says, it’s not his place to say, and Carly says, it feels too soon to her too.

Britt tells Peter that she should talk to Nina about putting in a pop-up gift shop, for those making the pilgrimage there to find a piece of Nathan’s goodness to take with them. She asks if he thinks it’s too commercial, and he says he thinks it’s too tacky, but that’s not why he’s there. She asks why is he at their brother’s grave.

Anna asks why Valentin always jumps to the worst possible conclusions, and he says, Peter lying isn’t the worst possible conclusion. She says, the picture of Peter that’s coming into focus isn’t flattering, and he says they need to plot this out, and see where it leads. She says, she almost doesn’t want to, and he tells her, he says, for the purpose of this hypothetical, Franco is hearing Drew’s voice because he and Peter crossed paths while Drew was still in the military. Anna says, Drew disappeared from his post while he was stationed in Afghanistan, and Valentin says, how long between the abduction and the memory transfer? Maybe Drew and Peter interacted then. Anna says, which means Peter played more than a minor role in the crimes that were committed, and Valentin flashes back to Peter saying dead Helena was trying to expose his part in Drew’s abduction in Afghanistan. Anna wonders what Valentin isn’t telling her.

Jax tells Nina that he apologizes. He was wrong. For what it’s worth (🍷), he was protecting her. He didn’t know how to tell her that the daughter she was searching for was Nelle. What would be worse, knowing the pain Nelle inflicted or that she was already dead? Either way, Nina would be devastated. She says he should have respected her, and trusted she wasn’t a frail butterfly, who needed to be protected from the harsh truths of life. He should have told her everything. Instead, he let Carly convince him that not telling the truth would be better for her, when it was actually better for Carly. He got caught up in Carly’s hatred for Nelle, and the non-stop narrative of how evil she is, and how she doesn’t have a chance of redemption. She knows who Nelle was, and the atrocities she committed, but he knew the connection she felt for Nelle, to the point where she made sure Nelle got a decent burial, and she had no idea she was burying her own daughter. Jax swears, at the time, he had no idea, but she says, then he did. He had a choice, to help her deal with the news that her daughter was this troubled woman, who died before she had the chance to give her love, or to help Carly keep a secret. And he chose Carly. A tear rolls down Nina’s cheek.

Peter tells Britt, he came there to tell Nathan that he’s going to do right by Maxie and James, and he’s going to be a good husband and father. She says, as good as Nathan? and he says, Maxie loves him. She says, that didn’t answer the question. Will he be as good as Nathan? If you ask her, that’s asking the impossible.

Carly tells Michael, she agreed to the funeral for the same reason Jordan is putting on extra cops; as a safety precaution. Michael asks how that works, and Jason says, Sonny’s disappearance created a vacuum in the business, which is creating instability. Michael says he gets it. A change in management leaves the company vulnerable to a takeover. Carly says, it will show any potential rivals that the territory is secure, and Jason says, the service is to honor Michael’s father, but the timing is to send a message that Sonny is gone, and he’s in charge.

Martin pushes a button on the phone, and says, hello, mother?… He can’t tell her how good it is to hear the sound of her voice. How is she?… He knows the move to the new place must have been a surprise. Is she comfortable, and are they taking good care of her?

Jackie follows Finn in to an examining room, and says she can keep following him all day. He asks, what’s the alternative? and she says, take a minute to talk to her. He says, usually when someone tells him to go to hell, he assumes that’s the end of the conversation. She says, she lost her temper; she’s sorry. He asks what she thinks they have left to talk about, and she asks him to dial back the animosity; she’s not his enemy. At least she doesn’t want to be. He says, all he wants is some answers. He needs to know if Chase is his son or his brother. She asks if he’s thought it through. Does he really need to know? Has he considered that if he goes through with this, it could destroy Chase’s entire life?

Valentin tells Anna, what did or did not happen when Drew was abducted, it was a full five years before Peter came to Port Charles. Peter may be downplaying his involvement, but which one of them hasn’t glossed over a detail or two? Besides, it all hinges on Kirk’s theory, and they can’t interview a dead man. Anna says, that brings her to her other concern. How or why did Kirk transfer Obrecht from Steinmaur to one of his less secure facilities in Geneva? And why are her whereabouts classified? He says, it’s above Anna’s paygrade; that must be humbling. She tells him, if Obrecht is out, she’s going to be coming for Peter. Valentin has to talk to him, and try to prove what she’s beginning to suspect is wrong.

Britt says, Peter is nothing like Nathan. He’s more like their daddy dearest. What’s the saying? Something about an apple and a tree… He says he’s nothing like their father. There’s good in him that comes from his mother. She says, maybe Anna didn’t save him as much as he thinks, because he’s a helluva lot closer to their father than Anna or Nathan. As Britt leaves, she mutters that she hates telling her mother she was right. Peter watches her go.

Jax tells Nina, misguided or not, it wasn’t about protecting Carly, but protecting her. Nina says, but who protected Nelle? Her mother sent her beautiful baby to a man capable of ripping out her kidney and selling it. Good God, Nelle lacked what she needed in life because Nina’s mother deprived her of it. Then Nina testified against her. She betrayed her daughter, the only child she’ll ever have in her life. She walks away from him.

Michael tells Carly, Nothing meant more to his dad than family. If having the funeral now makes it safer, especially for Josslyn and the girls, Sonny would be all for it, and so is he. Carly asks, what about the other kids? They must have questions. Michael says, Dante has been distracted since he got stabbed with a loaded syringe, but he talked to Kristina. Carly asks if she objects, but he says she knows Carly and Sonny were married, and supports her decision. Carly says she knows it’s the right choice, but she hates it.

Lenny tells Phyllis, Mike (Sonny) doesn’t know who he is, but he sure as hell doesn’t like cops. He wonders if Sonny is a criminal. What are they getting themselves into? She says, the trooper wasn’t exactly friendly when he brought Mike home. It makes sense he’d prefer to avoid them. Lenny says, it’s not his home; he’s just staying with them. They still don’t know anything about him. She says, that’s enough, and asks if Mike hasn’t proven already that he’s a good guy. He defended them when a guy tried to rob them, and he’s helping without them asking. Lenny says, because he’s bipolar and off his meds, but Phyllis says, even on medication, he almost single-handedly restored their kitchen. Lenny wouldn’t know a blessing if it smacked him in the nose. Sonny joins them, and he says he hears what they’re saying, and he’s sorry he’s frustrated, but there’s something about the trooper that doesn’t feel right in his gut. They’ve been nothing but kind to him, and he doesn’t want to be a burden. He’ll pack up and move on. Lenny says, no. He’s not going to let Sonny do that.

Sonny says, Lenny won’t let him leave? Lenny says, what Sonny does is his business, but he’s not the kind of man who would let Sonny run off without properly compensating him for his hard work. Sonny says they don’t owe him anything. They  provided for him, gave him food, and a place to stay. If anything, he owes them. He doesn’t want to be a burden. Lenny asks, who said he was a burden? There’s not much money, but there’s plenty that needs doing. As long as he’s willing to work hard, he’s doing them a favor. Phyllis says he needs to time to get back on his feet, and if he stays, she can monitor his medication, and make sure he’s getting the proper dosage. Sonny says, okay. He’ll stay, but he has conditions. He’s tasted their sauce, now they have to let him make his own.   

Carly tells Michael and Jason, she went over the arrangements with Father Reyes, and he’s been wonderful. Sonny’s headstone will be placed with Mike and Morgan. She knows the importance of ritual and saying goodbye. They’re probably not going to recover Sonny’s body, and this is probably the only closure they’re going have, but it’s hard. She keeps thinking of all the places Sonny isn’t going to be, and all the experiences he’s not going to have. There’s this gaping hole inside. Michael says he keeps expecting Sonny to walk through the front door, and Jason says, him too. Michael says, it’s not like this wasn’t a possibility, given Sonny’s line of work. He’s not so naïve to think it might not catch up with Sonny, but now he wonders what he’s going to do without him. Carly says, they’ll do what his father would want. They’re going to keep going.

Martin says, his mother really thinks the food is that much of an improvement over Mountain Landing Long Term Care?… Noted. He must say, it does his heart good to know the nurses there are spending so much time with her… Agreed. A phone call is wonderful, but doesn’t take the place of an in-person visit… Wonderful. He’ll be seeing her as soon as he can. She knows how much he loves her. I love Martin right at this moment.

Jackie says, there has to be a way to make peace that doesn’t destroy Chase’s happiness. Clearly, Chase loves Finn. He loves having an older brother, and being an uncle to Violet. Why risk throwing that away? Finn says, in his heart, he believes Chase is his brother, but if he turns out to be Chase’s dad, he doesn’t know if he’ll tell Chase, for all the reasons she mentioned. He nearly died recently, and it hit him. If this is all the time he has left, he wants to know if Chase is part of the legacy he’ll leave behind. Jackie asks if Chase isn’t still part of Finn’s legacy as his brother, and Finn says being father to Violet changed him; it changed everything. If Chase turns out to be Violet’s brother, if something happens to him, it would be comfort to know his children had each other.

Peter talks to Nathan’s headstone, saying, he’s sick and tired of the non-stop comparisons to Nathan. He’s tired of Maxie’s love being questioned all the time. Trust him, his dearest brother, once he’s Maxie’s husband, he’ll make sure Nathan’s ghost is relegated so deep into the past, he can assume his rightful place as a distant memory. James already looks at Peter like his father, and soon Maxie herself will think of him as James’s dad. Valentin appears, and says, that’s very touching.

Jax tells Nina, she didn’t betray Nelle. She told the truth under oath. An innocent child’s life was in play, and they all did their best to protect Wiley; Willow, Michael, Carly and her. Nina says she never questioned Carly’s love for her family. She’s been supportive of the way Carly and Jax co-parent, but what hurts is, Jax couldn’t look past what Carly needed to what she might need. When Nelle died, there was no more threat to Wiley, but Carly still pressured him to keep the secret, and does he see what that would have cost her? He says he’s not following. By the time they put the clues together, Nelle was dead for months. She says, her daughter is dead and there’s nothing she can do to change that, but Wiley is still alive. Doesn’t he see that keeping her in the dark about her connection to Nelle could have kept her from a lifetime with her grandson?

Jax says this is going be hard to believe, but it never occurred to him that she was Wiley’s grandmother too. He’s sorry. If he’d known that, he would have told her the truth right away, no matter how hard it was. He swears. Nina says, it sickens her to say this, but she doesn’t trust him. If she can’t trust him, she can’t share the decisions she’ll be making about her grandson with him. Jax says he’s scared about where she’s going with this. She’s pushing him away, and she doesn’t have to, he promises. She tells him not to make it harder for her. Just go. He says, please, but she turns her back to him. As he walks out the door, he keeps trying to say something, but has no words.

Valentin says he didn’t expect to find Peter there. Quite a show of devotion considering… Peter says, what? and Valentin says, Peter and Nathan were brothers, but Peter barely knew the man. Peter says, Nathan was important to Maxie, and Maxie is important to him, and Valentin says he’s impressed. Peter has worked hard to be an honorable man. Still, a few stray strands of truth are unraveling. Peter asks what he means, and Valentin tells him, Obrecht’s whereabouts are unknown. Peter says, she’s supposed to be locked away in Steinmaur, but Valentin says, she was transferred, and now she’s off the grid. Peter asks if Valentin thinks she’s coming for him, and Valentin asks if she has reason to.

Anna goes to the hospital, and says Britt is just the person she’s looking for. She could use Britt’s professional opinion about a person missing under a doctor’s care. She’s prone to self-aggrandizing, fantasy and delusion, and she’s suddenly gone missing. Britt says, she’s a doctor, not a P.I., and Anna says, but what does she think about this individual? Is she safe out there, or should the authorities be notified?

Jackie tells Finn, Chase raves about Violet. If he was her brother instead of her uncle, those feelings wouldn’t change, but he’d be devastated to lose his brother. She sees how much Finn loves Chase too. Finn says he convinced himself that he didn’t need family; he didn’t need anyone. Violet and Chase proved him wrong. She says, let that be enough. Please. Chase wanted a functional, loving family his entire life, and now he has three family members; his mother, his father, and his brother. Finn says he told her, it’s long shot, but if it turns out he’s Chase’s dad, he doesn’t know if he’ll tell Chase. She says she doesn’t think he could keep it a secret for long. Then what? Everyone Chase knows, loves, and trusts won’t be the people he thought they were. It will completely tear his life apart. Chase comes in, and says, look at this. They’re both in the same room, no one is bleeding, and nothing is on fire. Isn’t that great?

Jason asks if Carly is sure she wants to do this; he can handle it. She says, no. She wants to be there. She opens the door to Martin, and says, Mr. Grey. How good of you to come. She invites him in.

Phyllis gives Sonny a bag, and says, fresh tomatoes, just like he requested. He drives a hard bargain. Sonny asks if Phyllis is sure Lenny is okay with him staying, and she says, trust her. He would be out of there in a heartbeat if Lenny wasn’t. And his work isn’t charity. They need help. If she’s being honest, it’s a relief knowing he’ll be there if another customer problem. He says she has his word. No one is going to rob her and Lenny again as long as he’s around. She says, he may now know much about who he is, but she has the gut feeling that he’s certainly a man of his word. Sonny wonders if he can ask her about something that’s been bothering him. She says, sure, and he says, obviously he doesn’t know who he is, but there are people out there who do know. How come they’re not looking for him? Phyllis takes Sonny’s hand, and asks, how does he know they’re not?

Britt tells Anna that she doesn’t speculate on hypotheticals, but Anna says, this is very real, and potentially dangerous. Unless Britt helps. Britt asks, how? and Anna says, tell her where Obrecht is, and she promises she won’t shoot Obrecht on sight.

Valentin dusts off Nathan’s tombstone, and says, it’s come to his attention that Franco Baldwin can place Peter at the scene of a crime. Peter says he doesn’t know what Valentin is talking about, and Valentin says, let him clarify. Franco is channeling Drew’s memories, and they’re resurfacing. Peter says, all he knows about Franco, is his tumor is resurfacing, which makes him a potential threat. Valentin says, Peter didn’t seem to feel that way when he burst into the operating room to stop the man sent to kill Franco. Peter asks where Valentin is going with this, and Valentin says he’s just playing with puzzle pieces to see what fits. If Franco Baldwin, Drew Cane, Jason Morgan… Peter says, what about Jason? and Valentin says, it wasn’t that long ago, Peter came to him, frantic that he’d crossed Jason. What did he mean by that exactly?

Jackie says, look at Chase, with his smart mouth. She and his brother are grown-ups. They can still manage to have a polite conversation. Chase says, anything he should know? and she says she’s just following a lead. She thanks Finn for the talk, says goodbye to Chase, and leaves. Chase tells Finn, he’s sorry, but did some minor miracle just happen? They sounded almost friendly. Finn tells him, focus on the almost part, and asks him why he’s there. Chase says he just thought he’d thank his big brother for his moral support. Finn takes it they’re talking about Willow, and it went well. Chase says, it did. He just left her, and she said they had more than a chance of a future together, and it’s all because of him. He pulls Finn into a reluctant hug, and says, thanks, man.

Michael says there’s something he and Willow need to talk about. She says, sounds important, and he says, it is. They talked about her moving out… She says, and he has safety concerns because of Franco’s medical condition. He says, now they have one more reason to worry, and she says, he means Chase’s message. Telling them there will be more police in the streets wasn’t exactly subtle. He says, so she caught that too, and they sit. He tells her, he and his dad lived very different lives workwise, and their business lives never crossed paths. She says she knows that, and he says, but he’s Sonny’s son, and has his name. Since his father was a don (there, he said it), there will be people out there expecting Michael will take over for Sonny, and they might not want that to happen. She asks if he’s in danger, and he says, he doubts it, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be careful. He wonders if she’d consider moving into the Quartermaine gatehouse. Wiley will have easy access to both of them, and she’ll be safer there. Will she at least consider it?

Martin tells Carly and Jason, he had a very nice conversation with his mother earlier. He was gratified to find out that, not only the food, but the nursing staff is a marked improvement from her last location. Carly is glad Florence feels well taken care of, and he says, as is he. He’s aware that tomorrow is her husband’s funeral. Out of respect for her loss, he’s backing away from seeking his mother’s freedom, for now. In the meantime, he hopes she and Jason understand, one fragile old woman can’t hold the peace of Port Charles for long. Jason and Carly look grim.

Jackie goes to the reception desk at the hospital, and says she’s looking for an old friend of hers – Bobbie Spencer. The reception nurse says, she’s sorry; Bobbie no longer works there. Jackie says, too bad. She was hoping to catch up with Bobbie. Does the nurse know where she’s working now? The nurse says, last she heard, Bobbie was working for a private patient in Vermont. Jackie says, Vermont is so beautiful. She loves Vermont.

Nina looks at the necklaces, and puts one on. She makes a call. Sonny answers, the Tan-O. Mike speaking. Nina is like, whaaat?

On Monday, Nina asks Sonny what his name is again, Elizabeth asks if that’s an apology, Valentin says he has his theories and wants to hear Peter’s, and Josslyn tells Carly that she feels like their family can never escape her.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Going along with how the rest of the week has been, I missed the beginning, so here are the takeaway points. Avery told Carly that her favorite necklace was missing, and Carly reminded Avery that she’d taken it to have it fixed, but didn’t know when she’d get it back. Carly went to Pizzulo’s where Jason and Sonny were talking about Julian. Trina went to see Josslyn, who was in the kitchen where the notorious bowl of moss lives. Britt tried to call Julian at Charlie’s, and was surprised to find out he hadn’t been in all day. Willow told Michael, it was time to face the truth, and here we are…

Nikolas tells Ava, it’s okay. Back up, and tell him what happened from the beginning. She says Ryan threatened to expose Julian’s part in Wiley’s kidnapping, and Nikolas says, Julian helped? She says no one knew about it, but Nelle left a letter tying Julian to the kidnapping. That’s what Ryan was using to blackmail her into divorcing Nikolas. Julian was scared Sonny would kill him, and Jason came looking for Julian. She always knew her brother would meet a violent end, but she was scared Sonny would make him suffer. She starts to cry, and Nikolas says, that’s why she decided to kill him herself; like a mercy killing. She says she wanted it to be quick. She thinks Julian understood, and he understood he was living on borrowed time. She was about to pull the trigger, when Sonny and Jason burst in. She got distracted for a second, and Julian took the opportunity to jump. Nikolas says, from the turret. It’s an extremely hazardous fall, but she survived. Maybe Julian did too. She says Nikolas was there to save her. Julian – God help him – had no one.   

Chase approaches the reception desk, and asks Britt if he can see the toxicology report on Sasha. She asks if he has a warrant. He says he’s not investigating the patient, but needs to know about the substance they ingested. He asks her to please show him the report.

Sasha tells Nina, she didn’t OD; she had a heart attack. Nina says, at her age, that’s hardly normal, and Sasha admits she’s done a few lines to take the edge off. Nina says, Sasha would rather think she had a heart condition than own up to a drug problem? It scared her when she heard what happened. Even though she’s not Sasha’s mother, she still cares about her, and doesn’t want her to throw away her life like this. Sasha asks if Nina really cares, and Nina says Sasha has her whole life ahead of her. She needs to wake up and do better. Please? Sasha smiles, and thanks Nina, and tells her that she really does appreciate Nina’s concern.

Chase opens Sasha’s door, and says he’s sorry to interrupt, but he needs to speak to Sasha. Nina says she has to go anyway. She just wanted to see that Sasha was all right with her own eyes. If Sasha needs anything at all… Sasha says she still feels like Nina’s daughter. Anyone would be lucky to have her for a mom. Nina leaves, and Chase asks how Sasha is feeling. She says, it depends, and he says, on? She says on whether he’s there as a friend or a cop.

Michael tells Willow that he wants to start by saying how much he’s always admired her. He’s thankful Wiley has her for a mother, and like they’ve both been trying to say, they’ve always been good friends, but lately his feelings have deepened and changed. Willow says she’s been feeling the same way. She thinks they were on the verge of something new, but then they found out Chase and Sasha had lied. Michael says she told him that she didn’t regret what happened, and he flashes back to them basking in the afterglow. She says she doesn’t regret anything, and he says, neither does he. She says, but learning that Chase and Sasha never cheated changes things, doesn’t it? and Michael says, does it?

Trina says her father could be hiding, right? and Josslyn says Trina has been spending all her time clearing her dad’s name, and now she thinks he’s alive? Where is this coming from? Trina says, the more she’s been thinking about it, the more it makes sense. Maybe her dad faked his death, and recovered in secret. It sounds crazy, but she’s starting to believe him. Josslyn asks who told her that her father is still alive? and Trina says, Cyrus. 

Carly tells Sonny, Taggert is just as bullheaded as ever. She had to talk him down from going after Cyrus. He’s not going to stay in hiding much longer. Sonny says he has something to tell her too; Cyrus was just there. She asks, why? and Jason says, damage control. Sonny says, Cyrus confirmed Jason was the target, and Julian was responsible for planting the bomb. That much is true. Carly asks, why would Julian want to take Jason out? and Jason says, Cyrus told him to. Carly wonders why Julian would be taking orders from Cyrus, and Jason says Cyrus had leverage over Julian. Carly says, like what? and Sonny asks if she’s ready for this. Julian knew for months that Wiley was Michael’s son. Carly is speechless, a rarity.

Britt sees Lucas, and ask’s to speak to him. Brad told her Lucas saw him. Brad nearly died, and Lucas wouldn’t even give him the time of day. Lucas says it’s none of her concern, but she says Brad is her best friend. She didn’t expect a warm and fuzzy reconciliation, but she also didn’t expect cruelty. He says she knows what Brad did, and she says, Nelle took advantage of Brad’s grief; he wasn’t in his right mind. Lucas says, Wiley lived in a house with people who weren’t his family, and spent his first pivotal year with people who weren’t his parents. Brad watched Michael suffer for a year, and said nothing. He ultimately only looks out for himself. She says, but Brad didn’t. He pled guilty, and took all the blame. He says, Brad was the only one to blame, but she says, that’s not true.  

Chase tells Sasha, he’s a friend above all, and she says she could use one, but he seemed liked a detective when he came in. He says, maybe that’s because he’d just gotten done checking out the toxicology report. She ingested dextrose amphetamine along with the cocaine, a stimulant on top of a stimulant. Britt spoke to the lab technician, who said she’d never seen a combination like that before. Where did she get the drugs? She says, so he is interrogating her, and he says he’s trying to make sense of this situation. There’s bad stuff out there, and he’s trying to track it down. That she’s using anything makes him feel like crap. He should have seen she was struggling. Sasha tells him, don’t. He tried, and it’s her fault she was using. She’s the one who covered it up. She was coping with losing Michael, and falling down on the job at Deception. One line made her feel like she could handle anything – for the moment anyway. She’s weak. He says she’s not weak. She says she doesn’t regret lying to save Wiley. It was the right thing to do, but Chase has been hurting too, and he kept it together. He says, no, he didn’t. He told Willow the truth. He told her that he and Sasha never slept together; it was all a set-up. She asks, how could he do that?

Willow says she knows Michael stayed with Sasha all night when  she was brought into the hospital. Obviously he’s worried about her. Michael says, Willow is too, and Willow asks if he’s been back since. Have they talked? Michael says, no, and she asks, why? He says he doesn’t want to do the wrong thing. He’s so angry, he doesn’t know what would say.

Carly says, Julian knew? He kept Brad’s secret, and watched Michael suffer and said nothing? That’s what Nelle had over him. That’s why he married her. She knew. Sonny says, Julian was probably the one who kidnapped Wiley when they were at the Nurses Ball telethon. Jason says, he chloroformed Monica so he could take Wiley, and Carly says, bastard. All that talk about his love for Lucas, when he was lying to Lucas’s face, and letting him keep a baby that wasn’t his. She says, please tell her Sonny is going to make him pay, and Jason says, maybe he already did.

Carly says she knew something was up when Nelle trotted Julian out as her husband. Sonny tells her, don’t worry. Nelle is dead, and she can’t hurt them anymore. Carly says, that’s not necessarily true. There’s something she has to tell him. Something about Nelle and Nina. Jason makes a really good soap face.   

Nina meets Jax at the bistro, apologizing for being late. He tells her, it’s okay, but she seems scattered. What’s going on? She says she visited Sasha at the hospital. She’s worried about Sasha. She’s been in pain since she and Michael broke up, and has no one to talk to. Jax says, like her, and Nina says, when she brought Sasha to the penthouse, she knew Sasha was suffering and high. She wishes she could have talked to her then. Jax says he hopes Sasha realizes how lucky she is to have Nina care about her, especially after she lied. Nina says, for a time, she couldn’t even look at Sasha, she was so angry, but seeing her alone and lost, with no one to talk to makes the past unimportant. He says Nina has a generous spirit, and sees the good in people, and she says she’s champion of the underdog, or maybe president of the club. They all make mistakes, some more than others. Now that the truth is out, maybe somehow she and Sasha can find their own honest relationship. He says, if she forgave Sasha, does that mean she forgives Valentin as well?

Ava tells Nikolas, she was up all night, searching for any sign of Julian or his body. That’s why he saw her walking on the cliffs. She’d been there for hours. She’s sorry she didn’t tell him the truth. He says he doesn’t care, but he does need to understand. She and Julian were close. She let herself be blackmailed for him. What made her want to kill him? He’s not trying to making her feel bad. She’s probably better off without Julian complicating her life, but he’s family. Ava says Nikolas is her family. He’s her future. She chose him. He says he chooses her. She can trust him. She says she wants to, and wants to tell him everything, but it’s so bad… She swears she didn’t have anything to do with it. She had no idea whatsoever. He says, just tell him. What did Julian do? She says, he’s the one who planted the bomb in The Floating Rib.  

Lucas asks Britt what this is about. His family is grieving, and his cousin is comatose. His plate is full, and he has no time for her games. She says he forgot to mention his husband was almost stabbed to death. He says, ex-husband, and she says he’s so self-righteous. Brad shouldn’t have shielded him. He lost Wiley, and that’s sad. He lost Brad, and it’s ironic, since if not for Brad, he would have lost more.

Sasha asks Chase why he told Willow. Why blow it at this late date? He says he had to be honest even if it caused more pain. He had to tell Willow that he loved her. Sasha says, so he did this for himself? and he says, for everyone. (We’ll leave out the fact that originally, Sasha was the one who told him to tell Willow the truth.) She says, when did he tell Willow? and he says, the night she was brought in. She asks if he thinks Willow told Michael, and he says he assumes so. She says, maybe that’s why Michael was with her when she was unconscious. Does Chase think Michael could forgive her?

Michael tells Willow, he was just so angry at Sasha, being so self-sacrificing that she was willing to throw their relationship over for a lie. He lost her, and the lie worked. Then she turned to drugs and nearly killed herself. What were Sasha and Chase thinking, being so reckless and… Willow says, shatteringly messy, and he says, that sums it up. He can’t unload on Sasha; she’s recovering. So he hasn’t been back. Intellectually, he understands what she did for Wiley, but emotionally, he’s still angry. He doesn’t want to say anything to make things worse. She says she gets it. It blows her away that Sasha and Chase chose to manipulate them, rather than talk openly. Michael says he wants to forgive Sasha, but he doesn’t know if he can.

Willow wonders how they can fault Sasha and Chase for what they did, and Michael says, it’s how they did it. He replayed every conversation they’d had, leading up to Sasha and Chase being together. Willow says, but they weren’t; it was a lie. Michael says, but the pain was real. He questioned everything, wondering how he missed it. She says, they didn’t miss anything. There was nothing to miss. They’d made it up. Pain and hurt aside, that’s the reality, and she and Michael have to figure out what that sacrifice means to them. How they feel about themselves, and Chase and Sasha.

Sasha tells Chase, Michael stayed there all night; it has to mean something. If Michael is worried, maybe he still cares. Chase says Michael was definitely worried, and still cares, but don’t get ahead of herself. She asks if he knows something, and he flashes back to finding Michael and Willow together. He says maybe they can talk another time, and she says, about what? What does he know? Just tell her. He says, Michael and Willow’s marriage… it’s a real marriage.    

Lucas tells Britt, if she has something to say, say it. She says he knows Brad. Does he really think Brad could have kept a secret for so long all by himself? He had help, but he took the fall anyway.    

Josslyn says, Trina talked to Cyrus? She knows he’s dangerous, and shouldn’t have been anywhere near him. Trina says she doesn’t like or trust Cyrus, but when he told her that her father might be alive, something in her soul said he was telling the truth. She believes him. She remembers when she was in the hospital with her father. They were laughing, talking, and planning stuff they were going to do. She went get him some candy, and when she came back, he was gone. It doesn’t make sense. Josslyn asks if Trina thinks maybe she wants it so bad, she’s grasping at straws? and Trina says, maybe, but wouldn’t Josslyn feel the same way if it was her dad? Wouldn’t she do everything in her power to see if he was alive? She has to find out one way or another. Josslyn says, okay; Trina’s got her. She thinks they should talk to Carly and Sonny, but Trina says, absolutely not. She has to promise not to say a word.  

Nikolas says, Julian set off the bomb that left Lulu in a coma, and lying in a hospital in Manhattan? and Ava says, he said Cyrus was threatening his family, even her and Avery. He asks, why bomb The Floating Rib? and she says, to kill Jason. Cyrus said he was going to lure Jason there after hours, and all Julian had to do was drop off the bomb. Nikolas says, it was a crowded restaurant, and she says, somehow Cyrus knew Jason would be there. He says, if Julian was supposed to wait until Jason was alone, why it set off? and she tells him, Julian said Cyrus tricked him. He was supposed to call Cyrus afterward, and the call detonated the bomb. Julian knew not to trust Cyrus, but he was so desperate to save himself from Sonny, he didn’t care about all the people he put at risk. He asks why Ava hid Julian there, and she says she didn’t know the extent of the damage. She didn’t know about Lulu, but as soon as she found out, she knew she had to make a choice. Let Julian drag her down again or choose her own future. She let herself have a moment of clarity, and for the first time in her life, she listened to it. He says, and she chose him. She says, she chose him, and she’d do it again.

Michael says he doesn’t know how he feels about Sasha, and Willow thinks he owes it to himself to find out. Clearly, he still has strong feelings about her. He says, what about them? and she says, whatever they are or could be, they can’t move on until they’re both positive Chase and Sasha are really behind them. He guesses he should take the time to figure it out, after the feelings of anger and confusion are done clouding things. She says she needs to do the same. Clearly (her WOTD), she’s all over the place. At least they know one thing for sure. They’ve always been friends, and she never wants to jeopardize that. He says, it can’t and won’t happen. They’ve been through too much, but they will always be Wiley’s parents, no matter what. She says, no matter what.

Sasha asks if Chase is telling her that Michael and Willow are sleeping together, and he says, yes. They were supposed to get an annulment. Now he’s not so sure. She asks what Willow said when he told her the truth. Did she say it was too late for them? He says, she was mostly stunned. He told her that he loved her, and she had no reply. Sasha says, that’s it then. She knew they’d never recover from this. Michael and Willow will never forgive them. Chase’s phone dings, and he says, it’s Willow. She wants to see him.

Britt says she has to go, and Lucas says she can’t drop something like this on him and take off. She’s telling him Brad had an accomplice other than Nelle? She says, Brad wasn’t Nelle’s accomplice; he was her victim. He had to help. He asks why Brad would take the fall. What was in it for him? She says Lucas doesn’t get it. Everything Brad did, he did for him. Brad loves him, and knew Lucas loved his family. He’d lost Wiley, and Brad wanted him to keep the family he had left. She walks away.   

Josslyn says she certainly doesn’t want to fan the flames of tension between Cyrus and Sonny. She doesn’t understand why he’d bomb The Floating Rib. Trina says there are a lot of reasons not to tell, so please promise her. Pinky swear.

Sonny says, Nelle is Nina’s daughter? and Carly says, it all adds up. When she found out Nelle was dead, Nina felt terrible. She blamed herself for testifying against Nelle at the custody hearing. How is she going to feel when she finds out she testified against her own daughter? Jason has to admit, he didn’t see this one coming, and Sonny asks if anyone else knows. Carly says, Jax. She’s been wanting to tell Sonny, but there was so much going on, she thought it could keep. Sonny asks if Jax is threatening to tell Nina.

Nina asks Jax if he means, is she forgiving Valentin for trying to make her happy by giving her a pretend daughter when he couldn’t find her real one? She doesn’t know. It was wrong, but she understands it a little bit more now. She saw Sasha earlier, when they were saying goodbye to Lulu, and all that pain in Charlotte was in, she would have done anything to take it away. They try to comfort the ones they love, and sometimes go too far. Jax admits he’s guilty of that, and she says, of course (🍷) he is; he’s Sir Galahad. He says, not always. She’s right. Holding on to a lie only hurts the people you love. The truth is always best.

Ava tells Nikolas, she doesn’t know what to feel anymore. She betrayed her brother. She loved him very much, but all she knew was she had to do it for Nikolas, to make amends for what Julian did to his family. But that means, Nikolas is all she has left. Can he accept that? Accept them? And if he could, would that be enough for him? Nikolas says, yes, more than enough. He’s fooled around most of his life, and he’s ready to move forward, together. They’ll build a future together. She says she hopes he doesn’t regret his choice, and he says he loves her too. They kiss, and I breathe a sigh of relief, since I really like them together.

Jason asks how sure Carly is that Jax will protect her secret. If he tells Nina, who knows what else he’ll say. She says Nelle’s fall from the cliff wasn’t her fault, but he says, Nina might not see it that way. She says he cares too much about Nina to tell her that not only is Nelle dead, but Nelle was her daughter. Sonny says, he held Dev’s secret, despite a lot of pressure, and he hopes Jax keeps his mouth shut. Not that I think there won’t be more problems later.

Jax says he needs to tell Nina something, but she says he doesn’t have to. She takes it all back, everything she said about the truth and hope. It’s not that simple. The truth can be brutal, and hope is sometimes the only thing that sustains them. She was dreaming for such a long time that she’d be able to find her child, but the truth is, her daughter isn’t a child anymore. She’s a woman, and Nina prays the family who adopted her loved her and supported her, and gave her the confidence to reach her full potential. Every path to her child led to a dead end. The only thing that comforted her, was that she hoped her child had a good life, even if she doesn’t get to be a part of it. Jax says, maybe Nina’s intuition is right. Maybe it’s time to stop looking.   

Josslyn pinky swears with Trina, and swears she’ll keep the secret. Trina thanks her, and they hug. Josslyn asks what the plan is. She knows Trina has one. Train says they need to find more information – something to prove or disprove Cyrus’s claim – and she thinks she knows where to start.

There’s a knock on Sasha’s door, and Michael comes in.  

Chase goes the Quartermaine mansion and finds Willow. He says he got her text.

On Monday, Willow has something she needs to say to Chase, Violet asks who Gregory is, and Franco says he has voices in his head.

⛈ Is 2020 Over Yet…?

Here we are again, cruising into yet another weekend, or another two days into, what day is it, anyway? Regardless of which side of the week fence you sit, try to change it up a little. Even with yo-yoing restrictions, there’s no restriction on creativity. And there’s always Netflix. No Dead this weekend, due to holiday films, which look like they’re an all-weekend thing on AMC. This is a win for me, since the premiere of 90 Day Fiancé (season 8) is happening, and it looks promising. So until we meet for Monday in PC, stay safe, stay inventive, and stay true to your pinky swears.

What I Watched Today

General Hospital

Ned tells Monica, good morning, and she says, that depends. Did he apologize to his daughter? He says, no, and she asks if he confessed to wife that he cheated. He tells her, shhh, and she says she’s pretty sure Brook knows about his little tryst. What’s keeping him from telling Olivia? In perfect soap timing, Olivia walks in, and says, tell her about what? 

In their hotel room, Brook thanks Valentin for the shower. She was surprised he didn’t join her, and he says he considered it, but decided to give her privacy. She says that was considerate, and he says he’s a gentleman. Does she regret last night? She says, not for a second.

Chase leaves another message for Brook, telling her that he understands the radio silence, but call him. If he doesn’t hear from her soon, he’s going to put out a bulletin, but he’ll look pretty stupid if she’s sleeping on somebody’s couch.

At the MetroCourt, Jax asks Nina if she’s working on Crimson business. She says she was going to lie to be polite, but it’s still a lie. She’s working on Nelle’s burial.

Chase runs into Sam, and tells her that he has questions about Jason’s accident.

On the phone, Michael tells Diane, if it interferes with Wiley’s adoption, it can wait. The priority is making Willow Wiley’s mother; they agreed on it. He tells her to just start the paperwork, and give him what he needs to sign. Willow comes downstairs, and asks if there’s a problem with the annulment. He says, Diane thinks it’s a mistake.  

Ava goes to Charlie’s, and says Julian told her it was urgent. He says she’s damn right. Sonny paid him a visit. She says she thought he was going to steer clear of Sonny, but he says Sonny was there when he came in. Sonny wants him to serve Corinthos Coffee. She says, so serve it, but he says, it’s just an excuse. Sonny wants to remind him that he’s just being tolerant as a courtesy to her, for Avery’s sake. Ava says, that’s sweet, and he says, it’s not sweet. Sonny is a ruthless crime lord, who’s killed indiscriminately. She needs to get that letter before he disappears without a trace. Maybe she’d like that. She tells him not to be absurd, and he says she’d get more time to focus on her marriage to Nikolas.

Nikolas asks if Elizabeth can take a break, and she says, she has to go according to the schedule or she’ll be working at Mercy. He says he’s sorry, and she tells him not to apologize. He has a lot to apologize for, but Britt isn’t one of them. He says he’s there to apologize for something she doesn’t know about.

Ned tells Olivia, Monica thinks he’s being unfair to Brook, and Monica says, on so many points. Ned says Monica is convinced Brook is going to come running to Olivia with her side of the story, but he says it won’t happen. Olivia says, it won’t, because she has every intention of reaching out to Brook. He doesn’t think Brook will be receptive, and she says, neither was Dante. He wouldn’t even show his face, but something she said got through, and here he is. He says he’s thrilled, but the situation with Brook is completely different. She tells him, let her do her thing, and when the time comes, everyone will sit down together and get everything out in the open.   

Brook tells Valentin, last night was perfect, but just so she’s clear, it can never happen again. Valentin says he’s clear on that. She says, the sex was incredible, and he says, his sentiments exactly. She says she learned the hard way never to get involved with someone who’s madly in love with someone else, and he says, that’s probably wise. She says, with him, everything is complex. He has secrets within secrets, but he’s straightforward about his love for Nina, and no one else. He says he was in love before Nina, and he doesn’t think he’ll ever stop loving her. She asks if he’ll ever find her, and he says he knows where she is. She asks if he’s going to be reaching out, and he asks if she’s matchmaking. She says, maybe a little. Nina seems into Jax. He says, for now, and she says he doesn’t think it will last? He says he thinks he’d like breakfast, and she says there’s a better menu in the restaurant. He thinks they’d better change into something more formal. She says she knows she said they’d never do it again, but they’re still in the room. Technically, it’s the same night. She takes off her robe, and he says he likes the way she thinks.

Julian says, Ryan wants Ava to divorce Nikolas, and she’s stalling. She says, it’s a complex situation, but Julian says, it seems simple. His life or her marriage. Ava says she thinks she knows how she can save him, and still get everything Nikolas owes her. He asks, what happened to Nikolas’s feelings for her? and she says, recent events have proven otherwise.

Elizabeth says sorry Nikolas had to wait, and he says she’s a respected professional, and the best nurse there. She says she still couldn’t take a break until it was time. He says she shouldn’t have to clock her break minutes, but she says Britt is doing it to everyone. What is she forgiving him for this time? He says she may not, and he doesn’t blame her. She says just tell her, and he says he tried to manipulate Franco and Ava into an affair.

Willow asks if Diane thinks they shouldn’t pursue the annulment because it interferes with the adoption. He says, they’re totally separate, and she asks why Diane thinks it’s a mistake, and he says Diane thinks they’re a good match, but it’s none of her business. Willow says Diane is never shy about speaking her mind, and he says, she’s not wrong. They are a good match. It seems selfish to say that it’s not enough. She says, it’s not selfish to want to be in love, and he says he wants that for her. She says she wants that for him too, and he says that’s why he’s working on an annulment. Not staying married seems like a failure, but if anything, he thinks it was a major success. She says she does too, and he says they walk away winners; no regrets or divorce. The leave the same as they came in, as friends who want the best for each other. She asks if Diane said how long it would take, and he says, she doesn’t have a timetable. He hopes Willow stays until it’s finalized, and she says she thinks that’s best for Wiley. He says, unless she meets somebody, and she says she doesn’t see that in the near future, but if someone sweeps her off her feet, she’ll be sure to tell him. In the meantime, she’s happy the three of them are together as a family for as long as they can be. He says he’s taking a breakfast meeting with Sam, but isn’t sure why. Does she want to go? She says she’ll get her purse, and he flashes back to kissing her.

Sam says, if Chase has any questions about Jason’s accident, he should ask Jason himself. He tells her, be careful. If Cyrus is trying to kill Jason, he’ll try again. Don’t wait until she or her kids are collateral  damage

Nina tells Jax, she had to pay extra to get the headstone in a hurry. He says she’s gone to a lot of trouble for someone who called her a crazy baby stealer in court. She says she knows he doesn’t approve, but he says it’s her decision; she can do what she wants. He doesn’t get a say. She says maybe Carly is right and she’s over-identifying with Nelle, but she can’t help thinking things would have been different if someone intervened. He asks, when? Before Nelle killed her first fiancé, or before she tried to kill Carly? He knows Nelle resonates with her way, and this is her way to cope, but he can’t participate.

Michael meets Sam, and she says it’s good to see Willow. Willow says she’ll wait at the bar, and Michael asks Sam what this is about, but she wants to wait for Jax. Jax sees Michael arrive, and  tells Nina, he thinks his meeting is starting. Jax joins them, and Michael says he didn’t realize Jax was coming. Sam says Jax’s print division at Aurora is thriving, but her online division isn’t. Jax says, it’s not a crisis, but Sam says, it’s a trend she’d like to reverse. Michael asks how he can help, and she’s glad he asked. She’s looking for a permanent CEO to run her half, and she’d like it to be him.   

Chase sees Nina, and sits down. She says she’s glad he could meet her, and he says, of course (🍷). He’s not sure why she wanted to see him, and she says, it’s a little awkward. Nelle is being buried this afternoon in Port Charles Woodlawn. She thought he might want to be there. He asks why she’d think that.   

Elizabeth tells Nikolas she doesn’t know how to react or understand how far he’d go to manipulate Ava. He says he jumped at the idea, and pushed them together. He would hurt Ava’s feelings, and when she was left vulnerable, he thought she’d turn to Franco for comfort. He was counting on Franco being receptive. Elizabeth says, even though Franco is her husband. He says he told himself they’d both be better off. She’d be free of a husband who wasn’t good enough for her, and he’d be free of a wife he thought he didn’t want.   

Ava tells Julian, last night she met with Scotty. Julian isn’t sure he should represent Ava, but she says, he’s not. He was blackmailing her. Julian says, smarmy bastard, and she says she was disappointed; she considered him a friend. He asks if she’s sleeping with both Nikolas and Franco, and she says she and Franco shared a kiss. She thought it was mutual attraction mixed with nostalgia. Now she’s thinking it was a set up by Scotty, Franco, and Elizabeth.  She thinks they were in on it together. He says he can see Franco and Scotty – they’re both lowlifes – but why does she think Elizabeth is involved? She says, because Scotty is blackmailing Nikolas as well.  

Nina says she knows Chase and Nelle were close at one time, and he says he knows her by Janelle, the name she was using when they met. He was investigating the death of Janelle’s first fiancé; she killed him. Nina says she’s aware of that, and he says he was the greenest of rookies. It was his first investigation, and Janelle played him. He fell for it, and she slept with him to compromise the investigation. It almost cost him his career. Nina says, and he never forgave her for that. She just wants to give Nelle a decent burial. He says that’s her prerogative, but excuse him. He gets up, and Valentin comes out of the elevator with Brook, who straightens his tie.   

Ned asks if Olivia thinks that’s a good idea, and she says she tracked Brook down the night Ned kicked her out. She knows how painful it is, but they can’t move forward unless they talk. He says they have nothing to talk about. He admits he’s wrong, regrets it, and will never do it again. Monica says he sounds like her when she was drinking. The next day she would vow it would never happen again, and it did until she went into recovery. He says, there’s no 12-step program for fighting with your daughter, and Olivia says, maybe not, but the same rules apply. There’s no hope of healing or reconciliation unless he’s honest about everything that happened.

Michael says he has no experience in media, but Jax says, he does have experience though. He did a great job with ELQ. Michael says, until he was replaced, but Jax says he was forced out. He was an excellent CEO. Michael says Jax sounds surprised, and Jax says he thought Michael was too young and inexperienced, and given a job no one else wanted. Michael says, that sounds about right, and Jax says Michael defied expectations. Aurora could use some long-term vision. Sam says she needs someone she can trust until Scout is old enough to run it herself.    

Nikolas says, it’s Elizabeth’s life and her choice. He should have respected that. They never would have kissed if she hadn’t been fighting with Franco, and they wouldn’t have been fighting if not for him. She says, apology accepted. She doesn’t want to fight with him anymore or judge him. It makes her feel like a hypocrite. She’s done her fair share of wrong things. He said he was wrong and apologized. He thanks her, and she says she’s sorry he’s so unhappy with Ava that he did that. He says if Ava is unfaithful, he can divorce her and not give her a dime. That’s why he pushed Franco at her. Since he signed the post-nup, his goal was to make Ava so miserable, she’d look outside the marriage for comfort. Things didn’t go as planned.

Ava tells Julian that Scotty had a picture of her and Franco kissing. Franco clearly orchestrated it to threaten Nikolas. Julian asks how much Scotty wanted, and she says, too much. He says, everything she’s done for that loser, and he set her up. She says he thought he was justified, and she did nearly break her arm shoving Nikolas at Franco’s wife. It appears she was successful.

Brook says she got Chase’s messages. As he can see, she’s fine, and in the future – if there is one – she doesn’t need him to monitor her. He says last he checked, she was sleeping on his couch. She says, last she checked, he was pissed at her. He says he apologized, which she knows since she listened to his messages. She says she didn’t say she listened to them; she saw he’d called. She was busy. He says, with Valentin, and she says she didn’t say that. He says, if she doesn’t want people to jump to conclusions, don’t show up in the same clothes she was wearing last night. Nina says she doubts anything happened, and Brook says, if she does, she’d be wrong.

Brook says she ran into Valentin at Charlie’s, and they got to talking, and here they are for breakfast; they worked up quite an appetite. Chase says Valentin is the reason she’s estranged from her father, and she says her father is arbitrary, unfair, and a total hypocrite. She suddenly realizes she doesn’t have her tote bag, and says, dammit. She’d better go get it before someone sticks it in the closet for all time. Valentin says he’ll take her, and she says he’s sweet, but she’ll get a Ride Share. Enjoy his breakfast. She had a lot of fun. He says, so did he. She leaves, and he asks, who has questions?

Nikolas tells Elizabeth, Ava is a different person when she’s around Avery. She’s warm and kind. The scheming Ava is the suit of armor she wears to protect herself. He likes the real Ava underneath, and almost wishes he could take off his armor too. Elizabeth asks what he thinks would happen if did, but he says he doesn’t think he can risk finding out. She says he told her there’s another side to Ava, but there’s one to him too. He’s compassionate and generous. She doesn’t recall him having a suit of armor. He never manipulated or used people. He says he does now, but she says he doesn’t have to. He can be better.   

Julian asks if Nikolas is cheating with Elizabeth, and Ava says she’s not certain to what extent, but she’s convinced Scotty caught them doing something. He asks why she’s so sure, and she says she met Scotty at the hospital. Later, she saw him collecting scraps of paper from the floor, and he ran off, chasing Franco and Elizabeth, protesting something. She looked at the only lone scrap of a check left behind with her husband’s signature. If Nikolas is cheating, and she can prove it, she gets 90% of everything he owns. He says, so she’s back to wanting a divorce for real, and Ava says, only when she’s certain she can get the money. He says he can’t deal with her excuses anymore. Stop.

Michael appreciates that Jax and Sam have faith in him, but his goal is to find a strategy to get ELQ back. Jax asks, why? What’s best for the company isn’t always what’s best for the family. Michael says, Ned wants the company back in the family’s hands, and Jax says, let Ned deal with it. Sam says, right now, she needs to put her half of the company in capable hands. Jax says if Michael reinvents Aurora, he can get capital for the revival of ELQ. He needs a counterpart. Michael asks if Jax won’t mind working with someone he used to take to Disney World. Jax says he watched Michael grow up, and that’s why he trusts Michael. He’s navigated two crazy damaged families, and kept his sanity. Sam says Michael is the first person she thought of, and the best person for the job. Michael says, in that case, he accepts.

Ned says Brook betrayed the family when she sold her stock. That was bad enough, but when she found out Valentin was pulling the strings, she should have warned him. Olivia says, he’s right; she should have. But she didn’t. How can she make amends? He says she doesn’t have to, and Olivia asks, what if she wanted to? Would he let her? He says she doesn’t want to, and Olivia wonders if he asked her. He says, no, and she says, he’s not communicating. He was harsh and unfair. How can he make amends? Ned says he doesn’t know, but Monica says she does. Be the bigger person. Admit he was wrong, say he wants to make it up to her, and toss the ball into her court. Give her control. That’s something Edward would never have thought of doing. He says he’s not his grandfather. Brook comes in, and says she forgot her bag; she’s not staying. Ned says he wishes she would.

Ava says she doesn’t care about Ryan and the money, and Julian says she doesn’t care about his life. She just s about playing her pathetic game with Nikolas. She tells him, watch it, and he asks, why? Because he called her on her delusion of hoping the prince will fall in love with her? Nikolas wants out. Let him go, and walk away. She doesn’t need the money. Ava says, don’t presume to know what she needs. Nikolas is her husband until she chooses to let him go.

Elizabeth tells Nikolas, she was friends with Kiki, and some of the things Ava did were awful. He says, Ava lives with that every day. They have that in common; they failed their child. She asks if he realizes he’s defending Ava, and he says, yes. She asks if he feels sorry for her, and he says, not at all. He feels there are moments when they connect, and it’s like going back to how it used to be. They were thrown together by accident. He was a fugitive, and she could have turned him in, but she chose to help him. Before they made all the wrong choices. She asks if he’s told Ava any of this, but he says, no. She says, maybe he should. It might change things. Even if it doesn’t, he’ll have the satisfaction of knowing he was honest, and one step closer to who he really is.

Jax says he’ll set up a meeting to coordinate the transition, and Michael says, the sooner, the better. Sam says she’d like to speak to Michael in private, and Jax says he has phone calls to make. He tells Michael, welcome aboard, and Michael says he’s happy to be working with him. Jax leaves, and Sam says, first, she’d like to thank Michael for taking the job. He says, don’t thank him yet; he hasn’t done anything. She says, no doubt, he will. She tells him that she has to apologize. Valentin got control of ELQ because of her. He says he could say the same thing about Brook, Mya, and Lucy, but Sam says, let her take responsibility for her part. Her parole officer wouldn’t let her see Jason, and Valentin cut a deal and made it happen, but she had to give up Scout and Danny’s shares. He says she made the right choice.

Brook goes the Quartermaine mansion, and says she came back for the bag she left in the living room. Monica says she’s welcome to look, but she hopes Brook stays and hears her father out. She says her father heard her, and she heard him. They don’t need to do it again. Olivia asks her to try again. Nothing will get better until they communicate. Brook says, fine, and Ned goes with her to the living room. Monica asks how Olivia thinks it went, and Olivia says, it’s a start.

Brook finds her bag, and says she doesn’t want to fight. Ned says, neither does he. He just wants to tell her how sorry he is. He loves her, and she’s more important than anything in the world; certainly more than ELQ. She says she’s sorry too, for hurting him. She didn’t mean to; she just wanted out of her contract. He says he knows. Valentin took advantage of her. She says, actually he didn’t. Not the way Ned means. Ned says he wanted to set an example for her, and build something worthwhile, so she’d be proud of him. She says, Valentin will just make ELQ better. She saw him last night. They ran into each other at Charlie’s, and one thing led to another, and… He says, and? She says, they spent the night together.

Nina asks what Valentin was thinking. Sleeping with Brook was incredibly inappropriate. He asks, why? and she says, for one, Brook is traumatized and not thinking clearly. He asks if she’s saying he took advantage of Brook, and she says he should have had better sense. Brook wants to lash out at her family. What better way than with them hooking up? She starts to explain the term, but he says he knows what it means; it paints the perfect picture. She tells him to stop smiling; he’s enjoying this. He says, it hadn’t occurred to him that she’d be jealous.  

Chase sees Willow at the bar, and asks if he can sit next to her. She says, feel free. She doesn’t think she’s going to be there long. Michael had a meeting, and they’re going out for breakfast. He says he doesn’t know if Michael told her, but they ran into each other at the gym. She says, he didn’t mention it, and Chase says the ended up sparring. She asks if he’s sure that was a good idea, and he says, probably not. He took a good punch. She says, sorry, and he says it’s his fault. He’d said he was happy about her adopting Wiley. Michael said what she did was none of his business, which is true, and Michael punched him in the face. But he still thinks Wiley couldn’t ask for a better mother.

Ned says, Brook slept with Valentin? She says he’s shocked, which is fine. He says, it’s not fine at all, but she says she’s a grown woman, and knew what she was doing. He says she’s lashing out, and making the most disastrous choices. Possibly it’s no different than him sleeping with Alexis. He wanted to pay Olivia back for hurting him. Brook slept enemy with the enemy. She says, first, Valentin isn’t her enemy. It didn’t even cross her mind. She was enjoying herself as a consenting adult. He says Valentin manipulated her, just like he did with the stock, and she says, wow. He really has no faith in her whatsoever. She didn’t make a mistake, but if she did, it was hers to make. She hurt no one. He says, only herself. Is he kidding? Valentin is hot, smart, rich, and has a wicked sense of humor. I’d sleep with him too.

Nina tells Valentin, she’s happy with Jax. He’s wonderful and supportive, and has too much sense to jump into bed with someone half his age. Valentin says, she’s not half. She says Valentin lied to her about almost everything. It’s not easy to shut him out and start over. He broke her heart, and didn’t leave her any choice. He says, if that means she cares who he sleeps with, and she obviously does, maybe she’s not as over him as she claims to be. Jax watches them talking.   

Brook tells Ned, she woke up with a smile on her face. She’s not sad or upset. It didn’t hurt until she tried talking to him. She picks up her bag, and walks straight out past Olivia and Monica. They turn and look at Ned. I dunno. I can’t see saying I slept with anyone to my father, much less telling him I woke up with a smile on my face.

Sam tells Michael, more important than controlling ELQ, she wants Danny and Scout to understand what family means. Michael says, more than ever before, every day he spends with Willow and Wiley, every moment together as a family is precious.

Chase tells Willow that she, Michael, and Wiley make a wonderful family. She thanks him, and he says he’s glad she’s happy. It’s all he ever wanted for her. He hopes Michael does better by her than he did. He starts to leave, but she says, wait. There’s something he needs to know about her and Michael.

Ava is making a martini, when Nikolas comes in. She says, good; he’s home. She has something important to discuss with him. He closes the door, and says he also has something important to discuss. Something he should have told her a long time ago.

Tomorrow, Nikolas tells Ava that he has inconvenient feelings about their marriage of convenience, Nina tells Nelle’s gravestone that she wishes things could have been different, and Carly tells Jason there’s something she’s supposed to remember.

The Real Housewives of Orange County

Kelly and Emily got together, and Kelly told Emily that Shannon was legit her neighbor. She said she wanted to be cordial, but wasn’t going to trust Shannon. She told Emily that Shannon did things to piss her off, but had a sweet heart. We flashed back to Kelly’s ups and downs with Shannon, and Shannon throwing her plate at The Quiet Woman during that not-so-quiet dinner. Kelly thought Shannon also had Tamra and Vicki in her ear, and she was a follower. Emily said them leaving was Shannon’s ultimate opportunity. She’d have to form her own relationships now. In Emily’s interview, she said if Shannon and Kelly could reconcile, maybe Shannon would realize she has a pulse.

Elizabeth’s mom Lyn was visiting, and Elizabeth explained to us that boyfriend Jimmy was the opposite of her ex. He’s an introvert, technical, and young. Since Jimmy is Mexican, and so was Elizabeth’s father, Elizabeth thought he also spoke to that part of her. Her father had never taught her Spanish, and Jimmy volunteered.

Braunwyn and Sean went out for Valentine’s Day. In her interview, Braunwyn said she’d been either pregnant, nursing, or drunk for the last 25 years. She told Sean that she thinks if she keeps saying she’s fine, it will become true. He told her not to make alcoholism a stigma, and said he felt guilty for being an enabler. She said she found it scary to be herself, but he said they had so much love, they could get through everything. (Aww!) She was worried she was going to lose friends.

Shannon was working on launching her Real for Real brand that she’d financed with all her money. She said she was parlaying her divorce money for a future. She and the girls met with marketing guy Don, and new boyfriend John joined them. Shannon said he was her biggest supporter, and his daughter Juliet works for her.   

Gina and Emily met for lunch, and Gina said she’d been non-stop not working out and eating. She was happy that she and Emily were back on track, but said she was pissed at Braunwyn. Tamra told her that Braunwyn was saying mean stuff about her tiny house. They did shots, and Emily called them the Dos Idiotas. In her interview, Gina said Braunwyn was all smoke and mirrors, and her 8000 square foot house was part of it. Fueled by alcohol, Gina took Emily’s phone and called Braunwyn, accusing her of saying sh*t about her. Braunwyn said Gina had talked smack about her husband, and it wasn’t cool. She told Gina, if she wanted to talk about it, they could look each other in the eye and say it face-to-face; she wasn’t doing it over the phone. In Gina’s interview, she told us about Sean getting her an Uber after the tea party, and getting a text from him later. Now six months later, she was hearing about it. She showed Emily the text, that she apparently kept. It said he was just checking on her, he’d gotten Braunwyn to the condo and she was asleep, and it was nice spending time with her. She told Emily she thought it was creepy, but I thought, it depends. It’s hard to tell if he was hitting on her in some weird way or just being nice, since I don’t know them. She made Emily call Braunwyn back, but Braunwyn wasn’t having it, and said she wasn’t doing this on the phone. In Emily’s interview, she said, Tamra had the day off from her master Lucifer, and came to earth to let Gina know what was going on. She suggested Tamra needed a hobby, so she’d stop being interested in their lives. For some reason, probably added to by the shots, Gina took Braunwyn wanting to talk in person as a condescending insult, and I decided Gina is a total a-hole. PS – Gina does not know what the word soliloquy means.

In Kelly’s interview, she says her relationship with her mom was flourishing. Jolie was a teenage handful though. She thought she should set a better example.

Elizabeth and Braunwyn went shopping, and Braunwyn talked about Gina and the text Elizabeth talked about her dad’s alcoholism, and we found out both Elizabeth and Braunwyn’s fathers had died from the effects of the disease. In Braunwyn’s interview, she said she had to tell Emily the truth, because Emily had called her out, but she wasn’t making a general announcement. She said it was like being slapped in the face. She hated that she made this choice. She thought she had enough sobriety under her belt to handle it, but she wanted a drink. She explained that her quirky mom Deb called Tamra, and told her that Braunwyn had quit drinking. Apparently, Lucifer let Tamra have a couple of days off. Braunwyn said she was just taking baby steps, but she’s being forced to share that she’s an alcoholic before she’s ready. It reaffirmed her mom didn’t love her as much as Deb loves herself. She was meeting Shannon for dinner, and was afraid she was going to lost Shannon as a friend, since they’d been drinking buddies. I find Shannon annoying at times, but I don’t see her being like that. In Shannon’s interview, she said she had no doubt Braunwyn was pregnant. In the car, Braunwyn told Shannon she couldn’t drink anymore, and Shannon was all, yay! but Braunwyn said, no. She thought she was an alcoholic. She told Shannon that Deb had blackmailed her. She’d said if Braunwyn didn’t tell everyone that everything she’d said about Deb was a lie, she would tell people Braunwyn had a drinking problem, and Braunwyn wasn’t ready to share. I definitely lost all respect for Deb, who I’d thought was eccentric, and probably not meant to be a mom, but cool. In Shannon’s interview, she said she had no idea, but when she looked back, it added up.

Emily had a birthday party for seven-year-old Annabelle, who she said went from being a little girl to 17 years old. She talked with her hands on her hips a lot. Everyone wore cat ears to the party, and it was interesting seeing the variety. Braunwyn told Emily that Shannon had also made fun of Gina’s new place, saying it was sad and depressing. Emily said Gina had a rough year, and it was what she could afford. She was proud of Gina. Braunwyn said she didn’t like how Shannon often made fun of people who couldn’t afford the same lifestyle, which I’m sure will cost her later. Gina met Elizabeth at the party, and Emily passed the Shannon info along to Gina. Gina said she found it hurtful. She said she had some choice words for Braunwyn, but all of them would get her kicked out of Shane’s house. (Shane! Come back!) 

Next time, Dr. Moon returns, Shannon won’t admit to talking sh*t about Gina’s place, and Gina screeches at Braunwyn.
